- 0:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's very clear you've discussed it and
- 0:24Speaker 2: you're on and you're okay. If she needs if she
- 0:27Speaker 2: needs to have her Ouigi needs met outside of this relationship.

- 0:59Speaker 2: see she's really going down this like OnlyFans situation. Here.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Jody is a wild one.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Usually it's be the only crafty thing I have is
- 1:10Speaker 1: this teachery. The only thing I have handy is these scissors?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Is this gonna? Oh? I am simultaneously scared andern.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I know, put the put the scissors away, Okay, I
- 1:21Speaker 3: promise I'll behave.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I put them down.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Well, if you're new to our creepy corner of the world,
- 1:26Speaker 1: this is PNW Haunts and Homicides, where we chat about
- 1:29Speaker 1: true crime, the paranormal, and all things spooky in the
- 1:34Speaker 1: Pacific Northwest. And we do have some extra guests today.
- 1:38Speaker 1: We have Jody and Shay with us from Rainy Day
- 1:41Speaker 1: rabbit Holes. You guys might remember them. You might have
- 1:44Speaker 1: heard of them, you know, a couple episodes back.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I don't know. I think you meant to say extra
- 1:49Speaker 2: special guests, not just an extra guests. So although I
- 1:54Speaker 2: could be extra extra, i'll be special.
- 1:59Speaker 1: We have some extra nasty guests with us today because
- 2:03Speaker 1: it is the Pacific Northwest. If you're nasty, or the
- 2:06Speaker 1: PNW if you're nasty nasty, I don't know.
- 2:09Speaker 2: We said things out at order. It's fine. It's so
- 2:14Speaker 2: nasty in here. It's so nasty nasty. So we do
- 2:18Speaker 2: a Tarot.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Reading at the end of every episode just for a
- 2:20Speaker 1: little deeper insight into our topic. And we do have
- 2:25Speaker 1: Shan and Jodie's consent to do this tarot reading today,
- 2:28Speaker 1: so nobody worry about that.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yes, explicit consent. We are into consent and we give it. Yep.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Really you hear us right here saying it. You just
- 2:36Speaker 2: don't know which one of us to do what you
- 2:38Speaker 2: want to do with us. I'm on my way. Why
- 2:43Speaker 2: I say that every time the four of us are
- 2:45Speaker 2: to get it so bad sanctual. We just have a
- 2:49Speaker 2: lot of sexual chemistry between we do we do? Yeah,
- 2:54Speaker 2: I know, right, unexpected joy And then you put the
- 2:57Speaker 2: sexiest poster of Bigfoot up ever how much right here
- 3:01Speaker 2: at that and keep concentration.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I know.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And a raccoon and in a little coon. He's got
- 3:07Speaker 2: a raccoon in his junk coon and his coter cooter coon.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Oh no, okay, So if you guys did not already
- 3:16Speaker 1: listen to our Shanghai Tunnel episode, you got to go
- 3:19Speaker 1: back and listen to it because it was freaking awesome
- 3:22Speaker 1: and you're slacking. This is kind of like a sister
- 3:26Speaker 1: episode to that because when we went and did the
- 3:28Speaker 1: Shanghai Tunnel tour in Portland, we all stayed at the
- 3:31Speaker 1: Crystal Hotel, which is in downtown Portland and it's a
- 3:35Speaker 1: mcminimon's which.
- 3:37Speaker 2: We'll go into. We'll go into all the history of
- 3:39Speaker 2: the hotel.
- 3:40Speaker 4: So excited. It's like Sisterhood of the traveling episode.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeah, kind of like, oh I love it. Oh that's cute.
- 3:47Speaker 2: We can do whole zero I know. And it's super
- 3:49Speaker 2: Pacific Northwest. Yeah. Yeah, if you live in the Pacific Northwest.
- 3:52Speaker 2: It's like, you know about mcminimens. You love mcminimens. Everybody
- 3:56Speaker 2: goes to mc minimums. Everybody has a passport. I mean
- 3:58Speaker 2: that was part of the adventure for us. Mcminimum's was
- 4:01Speaker 2: part of that adventure.
- 4:02Speaker 4: And if you don't love it, then you can't sit.
- 4:04Speaker 3: With us, no, because we'll be at MCMANI exactly, Yeah,
- 4:09Speaker 3: that's where our table is.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I'll try to sell you a passport everywhere we went.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Everywhere I go, I sell people passports, even not at mcmanimum.
- 4:17Speaker 2: They should just give her step I know. Yeah, they
- 4:20Speaker 2: didn't give me a job. I mean, you are kind
- 4:22Speaker 2: of also the rule police, so they should. They should
- 4:25Speaker 2: do a free passport. Oh wait, well done. I don't know.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Oh my god, I am I don't know. I don't know.
- 4:30Speaker 4: I was like, oh shit, I think we're not friends anymore.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I was just mostly mad because every time I tried
- 4:38Speaker 2: to do the thing that you got away with. I
- 4:41Speaker 2: would get a no, we can't do that. That person
- 4:43Speaker 2: has to be here and show their identification. And I'm like, yeah,
- 4:48Speaker 2: she's not a rule follower. She just thinks things around.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I'm not fair when somebody else gets to break the floor. Okay. Also,
- 4:56Speaker 2: I may have been drunk. Okay, you guys ready for this.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I am ready. Let's tell everybody about MCMI.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'm going to tell them, not really about mcminimon's maybe
- 5:07Speaker 1: a little bit, but I'm going to tell them about
- 5:09Speaker 1: the Crystal Hotel specifically. So it is located in the
- 5:13Speaker 1: Pearls district. We were in the Pearl district, Yeah, bitch,
- 5:21Speaker 1: are we sure?
- 5:22Speaker 2: We were in the Pearl. It was a little rowdy
- 5:24Speaker 2: for the Pearl.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Girl. The Pearl has always been a little rowdy. It's
- 5:30Speaker 3: like the Brewery Block.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I don't know, I just have It was three o'clock
- 5:33Speaker 2: in the afternoon, Okay, okay yea. Also that Crystal Hotel
- 5:38Speaker 2: is on the edge of the Pearl district. I would
- 5:40Speaker 2: say the Pearl District is mostly north of burn Side
- 5:43Speaker 2: it is, so Crystal Hotel is kind of like they're
- 5:46Speaker 2: stretching it a little bit because they're on the south
- 5:48Speaker 2: of burn Side, but I think you're right. But Crystal
- 5:51Speaker 2: Hotel is kind of established, like Landmark in absolutely that
- 5:56Speaker 2: part of the city. So if they want to say
- 5:58Speaker 2: they're in the Pearl District, they're in the Pearl District.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Do it.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You're a pyal baby. So this building is actually pretty cool.
- 6:04Speaker 1: It has a distinct triangular shape, so like a pie,
- 6:09Speaker 1: a pizza, pizza, flat iron, whatever you want to call it.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I probably wouldn't call it a flat iron though, because
- 6:16Speaker 1: I think of that as like a hair straightener. Yeah
- 6:18Speaker 1: you're flat iron, yes exactly, but they do they do
- 6:21Speaker 1: call it that because they mean like a clothes iron.
- 6:23Speaker 2: So it's like those are like the triangles. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 2: my grandparents had one.
- 6:28Speaker 3: I feel like most people, like, unless your grandma just
- 6:31Speaker 3: had one laying.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Around, you might not know what the hell we're talking about.
- 6:36Speaker 2: This is, this is when, this is when I'm old.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I have an iron, one of those, and you know,
- 6:42Speaker 2: they're heavy. They're great. They're heavy because they and they
- 6:46Speaker 2: smash your great for murdering allegedly did not your husband
- 6:51Speaker 2: or whatever. I have zero zero references.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I love multi purpose tools.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Exactly, so they do use that term flat iron to
- 7:00Speaker 1: describe that that shape of building. And there is a
- 7:03Speaker 1: famous one in New York that's literally named the flat
- 7:06Speaker 1: Iron Building, and it's across the street from the Harry
- 7:10Speaker 1: Potter shop.
- 7:10Speaker 2: I just had to throw that in there. Oh hey,
- 7:13Speaker 2: they need to do that in Portland too.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I know, right, people probably wouldn't put in Harry Potter
- 7:18Speaker 1: shop now in Portland though I would think, oh probably not.
- 7:22Speaker 2: No. Jk. Rowling is a little bit problematic. That's sad,
- 7:24Speaker 2: I know, you know, they have to ruin all of
- 7:26Speaker 2: her fun. She had to ruin all that It was
- 7:30Speaker 2: created and destroyed by the same here. Yeah, it's so
- 7:34Speaker 2: Harry Potter.
- 7:35Speaker 4: It really is, actually, like if.
- 7:36Speaker 2: You think about it, yeah, really, it's kind of meta.
- 7:39Speaker 2: She should not be named well. And also, isn't she
- 7:42Speaker 2: the one who who wrote that Dumbledore is gay? But
- 7:45Speaker 2: then she has anyways, let's not get political on this,
- 7:48Speaker 2: Dumbledore is gay.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Oh yeah, she's famously like ye said that, yeah, dumble Doore,
- 7:54Speaker 3: she wrote double Doore is gay.
- 7:56Speaker 2: But then she has like huge problems with trans people.
- 7:59Speaker 2: So oh, holy shit, I missed that.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I gotta go down that rabbit hole later, that Dumbledore
- 8:04Speaker 1: rabbit Oh that's calling my name.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I don't even know half of it.
- 8:08Speaker 3: I feel like at this point, and it is a
- 8:11Speaker 3: wild ride and like not in like the awesome way necessarily.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:17Speaker 1: So anyway, this pizza shaped hotel has fifty one guest
- 8:21Speaker 1: rooms and the building is now owned by mcminimon's, which
- 8:24Speaker 1: we've talked about. It wasn't always owned by mcminimon's. And
- 8:27Speaker 1: the building is of course on the National Register of
- 8:31Speaker 1: Historic Places because that's what mcminimon's does. They kind of
- 8:36Speaker 1: like take over old historic buildings and breathe life into them.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Very cool.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And that's kind of all the history I have on mcminimon's.
- 8:44Speaker 1: So if you have anything else to say about mcminimon's,
- 8:48Speaker 1: we have an episode on it.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I did an episode on the Elks Temple and Tacomo,
- 8:53Speaker 2: and in that I got into the history of mcminimum's
- 8:56Speaker 2: a bit. Okay, So let's talk about history. Are you
- 9:00Speaker 2: guys ready? Oh? I love it. Her favorite thing.
- 9:02Speaker 1: So the building was constructed in nineteen eleven. The ground
- 9:06Speaker 1: floor of the building was originally an auto part store
- 9:10Speaker 1: and the floors above were Hotel Alma in nineteen forty six,
- 9:15Speaker 1: after having spent several years in an internment camp. The
- 9:20Speaker 1: Zakogi family bought the hotel, renaming it the Majestic. And
- 9:25Speaker 1: I did look for a pronunciation on yeah, the family's name,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and I could not find one. It is Zakoji. They're Japanese,
- 9:35Speaker 1: I assume, so soakog okay. So they bought this building
- 9:39Speaker 1: and then they renamed the hotel Alma to the Majestic.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And I was thinking about the name, and I was like,
- 9:45Speaker 1: I bet this place was like majestic compared to a
- 9:48Speaker 1: fucking internment camp.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Oh my god, yeah, right right yeah.
- 9:54Speaker 1: And it was said that this family made the place
- 9:56Speaker 1: a very comfortable and welcoming place for all the guests.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Oh oh, so.
- 10:03Speaker 1: The timeline here, it's kind of a little unclear. I
- 10:06Speaker 1: was trying to piece together several articles. But sometime later,
- 10:11Speaker 1: the autoparts store traded in its tools for tuons and
- 10:15Speaker 1: became various different nightclubs over time. The nightclubs that they
- 10:20Speaker 1: had there were Couchinas, which sounds like ooh, Couchinas, Club Mecca,
- 10:27Speaker 1: the Desert Room Club Portland, and they all sound great,
- 10:34Speaker 1: and I want to just like go back, and they
- 10:35Speaker 1: all sound good.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 10:37Speaker 1: They also had club baths baths. I can't say t
- 10:41Speaker 1: h and s. It's a real problem. Can someone say
- 10:44Speaker 1: baths is for me?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Baths? Baths? They had club baths, club baths.
- 10:49Speaker 4: The more you think about it, the less you can say.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I know. So I have a flyer here that I
- 10:56Speaker 2: want to send in the chat. It says the Majestic
- 11:00Speaker 2: Hotel and Club Beth bethis's the West's finest steam bath
- 11:07Speaker 2: with hotel accommodations, is Portland's most popular all night spot.
- 11:13Speaker 2: And then it has a little asterisk men only. I
- 11:18Speaker 2: just say it. So this was the gay spot of Portland.
- 11:23Speaker 2: It was what was this fire from nineteen seventy two? Yeah, yeah,
- 11:30Speaker 2: good year. I love that for the Crystal Hotel, right,
- 11:33Speaker 2: it was a great part of the history.
- 11:35Speaker 1: And I was thinking, I never knew that this is
- 11:37Speaker 1: something we should have thought about while we were down
- 11:40Speaker 1: there soaking in the pools.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah right, who was soaking? Right? That's right? Bill? What's
- 11:47Speaker 2: having sex in this bath before us? How much come?
- 11:53Speaker 2: I don't know? Drains? The way that lady next to
- 11:56Speaker 2: us was potty mouse talking a lot, oh lordy god channeling.
- 12:03Speaker 2: She was channeling the view of past, right, past lives,
- 12:07Speaker 2: and I don't know about that.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I feel like the gays were like, we don't funk
- 12:11Speaker 4: with her either.
- 12:12Speaker 2: No, yeah, no, she's not a friend of the gaze,
- 12:14Speaker 2: I don't believe. But she was also nasty and not
- 12:18Speaker 2: a fun nasty oh no, oh my gosh. Okay, So
- 12:23Speaker 2: this is where I kept saying.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I kept saying the salt water soak is subterranean because
- 12:29Speaker 1: I learned that word when I was writing this episode Subterranean.
- 12:33Speaker 3: She loves the vocap word. Yeah, because I was like, oh,
- 12:36Speaker 3: this is just something fun.
- 12:37Speaker 1: To think about in our little subterranean saltwater soak, and
- 12:41Speaker 1: I learned the word.
- 12:42Speaker 2: It was like the word of the day. Subterranean. Love it.
- 12:44Speaker 1: So I kept using it the whole trip. And you
- 12:46Speaker 1: guys are probably like, why did the does this bitch
- 12:48Speaker 1: keep saying subterraneans I didn't even know.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I didn't notice that. Well, clearly they noticed, sad that
- 12:54Speaker 2: I didn't notice. Oh yeah, it's subterranean, bitch. I'm just
- 12:59Speaker 2: used to big words. No, you were.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Using it correctly and excited, so and we're all having
- 13:05Speaker 3: a good trip. So they're like, cool, yeah, subterranean all
- 13:09Speaker 3: you guys really do you.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Guys really pumped me up, thank you.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Oh okay, so I go on to talk about this,
- 13:16Speaker 1: So I was like, if you guys hadn't already guessed
- 13:18Speaker 1: by me reading you that flyer, this was a huge
- 13:21Speaker 1: gay scene.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:23Speaker 1: The importance to the LGBTQ history was actually discussed during
- 13:28Speaker 1: its nomination for the National Register of Historic Places. Oh,
- 13:32Speaker 1: which was like, that doesn't happen very often. That was
- 13:35Speaker 1: like a really special thing. That's amazing. I had no
- 13:38Speaker 1: idea about the Crystal.
- 13:40Speaker 2: That is so cool.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I really love that. I love that so much. Yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 1: that's great, me too. In two thousand and seven, Mcminnimon's
- 13:47Speaker 1: bought the building and heavily renovated, reopening as the Crystal
- 13:52Speaker 1: Hotel in twenty eleven. Oh wow, that's a long renovation
- 13:57Speaker 1: four years. Yeah, and it was more and I thought
- 14:01Speaker 1: of it opening. I thought it was the nineties. I
- 14:04Speaker 1: really did think it was the nineties. I'm so wrong.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Wow.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But they also owned the Crystal Ballroom since nineteen ninety seven,
- 14:13Speaker 1: so they've had one of the Crystals since the nineties,
- 14:16Speaker 1: so you're not that wrong.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:17Speaker 1: This is a popular music venue just a block over,
- 14:21Speaker 1: and it's also a triangle shaped building.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I didn't know that until I was like looking.
- 14:27Speaker 1: At the like aerial view of it, and it has
- 14:30Speaker 1: some like building attachments, but if you look down on it,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you can totally see like the triangle shape.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Interesting. One loves a triangle, I don't. Yeah, they love
- 14:40Speaker 2: a pizza building.
- 14:41Speaker 1: And there's like a ton of history and hauntings of
- 14:44Speaker 1: the Crystal Ballroom. So I'm gonna probably do either another
- 14:48Speaker 1: episode or another bonus on it at some point. The
- 14:51Speaker 1: theme of the Crystal Hotel is a dedication to the
- 14:55Speaker 1: history of the Crystal Ballroom, naming each room after a
- 14:58Speaker 1: band or performer who lay there, and these were chosen
- 15:02Speaker 1: based off of what a group of mcminnimon's staff and
- 15:05Speaker 1: fans voted the best songs ever played live at the
- 15:09Speaker 1: Crystal Ballroom.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Oh I love that. I've actually been to a concert there.
- 15:14Speaker 2: It's a great concert venue.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Yeah, oh I would love to go. We should. You
- 15:19Speaker 2: had to plan something there. I've only been to dance.
- 15:24Speaker 2: I've done both. Yeah, I've been in Lola's room and
- 15:27Speaker 2: in the main thing for just like dances, but not
- 15:31Speaker 2: a band. Yeah. I saw amos Lee there and before that. Okay,
- 15:35Speaker 2: so the opening act was this. It was an African band.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I don't even know the name of them. It was
- 15:40Speaker 2: authentic and they they played, and then I was talking
- 15:44Speaker 2: to my friend and we had like we were up front,
- 15:48Speaker 2: and then they ended, and then I was just kind
- 15:52Speaker 2: of chit chatting with my friend but talking with my hands,
- 15:56Speaker 2: and my thumb went in somebody's mouth as I was
- 15:59Speaker 2: wave it around and I turn around. It's like the
- 16:01Speaker 2: lead singer of the African man shot They'll suck on.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I don't even know who they were. I should know.
- 16:08Speaker 2: He did not look happy. I was like, I'm so sorry,
- 16:10Speaker 2: and he's like he looked at me like, yeah, did
- 16:13Speaker 2: not forgive me, like you did it on purpose. Should
- 16:15Speaker 2: have been like, dude, why are you trying to stuck
- 16:17Speaker 2: my thumb? I should have blamed him for running into it.
- 16:22Speaker 2: You should have why did you run into my thot
- 16:24Speaker 2: in mouth? What did you put my thumb in your mouth?
- 16:27Speaker 3: For? You?
- 16:27Speaker 2: Sick Marv.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Honestly, men are so aggressive here right.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I was just standing there swinging my hands, and he's
- 16:35Speaker 2: waiting for an opportunity for a woman to stick her mouth,
- 16:38Speaker 2: her tongue in your mouth geez luise, or her tongue,
- 16:41Speaker 2: her thumb, her thumb in your mouth also okay.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Hey, maybe it starts with the thumb. Maybe you move
- 16:46Speaker 3: on then it turns into it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Sure, I feel like guys they just walk around with
- 16:51Speaker 1: their mouths open, just waiting for things.
- 16:53Speaker 2: To fall into it. For a yeah, he was a
- 16:56Speaker 2: woman part to fall into it. Any part will do
- 16:58Speaker 2: it is okay.
- 17:01Speaker 1: So we talked about all the rooms are named after
- 17:04Speaker 1: a song that was played live and everyone voted on
- 17:07Speaker 1: the best ones, and some of the room names include
- 17:11Speaker 1: James Brown, Jimmy Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, Blondie, the White Stripes,
- 17:18Speaker 1: Arcade Fire, and do you guys remember what rooms we
- 17:20Speaker 1: were all in.
- 17:21Speaker 3: We were in the Death Cap for Cutie room, Yes
- 17:24Speaker 3: we were, that's right.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And then but we were in two. We were on
- 17:28Speaker 2: the second floor, right, Ye, kent the paintings in the
- 17:31Speaker 2: rooms though, those are all original paintings created by local
- 17:35Speaker 2: artists for all of these songs. And I was kind
- 17:39Speaker 2: of looking through the website. I didn't see this one
- 17:41Speaker 2: in person, but I really like the one they did
- 17:44Speaker 2: of Blondie for Heart of Glass and they put like
- 17:47Speaker 2: a little Kermit the Frog in it. I thought it
- 17:49Speaker 2: was so cute. Oh I love that.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Yeah, did you guys see any other paintings that you
- 17:55Speaker 1: liked or that you remember.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I mean, I've been in so many men's properties that
- 18:01Speaker 2: it's hard to be like, oh, yes, there was that
- 18:03Speaker 2: mcminimon's painting that I absolutely love. I do know. Mcminimon's
- 18:08Speaker 2: basically employs an army of artists. Oh my gosh, there's
- 18:11Speaker 2: so much art like this, so much art, so many artists,
- 18:15Speaker 2: Like they paint the elbows of so all of their
- 18:18Speaker 2: buildings are historic, and so they don't cover up the plumbing,
- 18:22Speaker 2: and so they paint pipes like all the elbows have
- 18:26Speaker 2: like a face, and and the the mule posts of
- 18:30Speaker 2: the stairwells like paint faces on and everywhere, everywhere you
- 18:34Speaker 2: turn there's art art, art, art art, So it's hard
- 18:37Speaker 2: to be like, yes, that's the painting that I absolutely loved.
- 18:40Speaker 2: It is fun, though, to stay in a room that
- 18:43Speaker 2: you have a special connection with the theme, because that's
- 18:46Speaker 2: every single hotel property they have. Every room is themed
- 18:50Speaker 2: to something. So it's yeah, Krystal Hotel is songs of
- 18:56Speaker 2: artists that have played their different hotels will have different
- 19:00Speaker 2: theme for who that room is based upon, so that
- 19:06Speaker 2: art in that room will be specific to that person
- 19:10Speaker 2: that they have dedicated that room too, and it's just incredible. Yeah,
- 19:14Speaker 2: I mean, like to be an artist and work for mcminnimon's,
- 19:18Speaker 2: I feel like special thinking that how amazing.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I love too how they always have like in these
- 19:24Speaker 1: rooms specifically, there was like song lyrics.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Painted on the wall.
- 19:27Speaker 1: They always have like some sort of like quote or
- 19:31Speaker 1: music lyrics painted on all the walls everywhere, and I
- 19:34Speaker 1: love that too. Was like you're like sitting on the
- 19:37Speaker 1: toilet and there's like a quote above you in the
- 19:39Speaker 1: bathroom and you're like.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Oh, that just like made my day. Well, even in
- 19:43Speaker 2: the hotels, like Crystal Hotel mostly has shared bathrooms, so
- 19:47Speaker 2: you're going into a bathroom that like everybody down the
- 19:51Speaker 2: hall uses too, but they still try to make it
- 19:53Speaker 2: like nice and special nice, and so they do do
- 19:57Speaker 2: different art inside the bathrooms. Yeah, they'll have a quote
- 20:00Speaker 2: on the wall, they paint all the different There's like
- 20:03Speaker 2: a lot of attention put into detail in their properties,
- 20:07Speaker 2: even in these shared bathrooms. That makes it special, and
- 20:10Speaker 2: I mean it should. Mcmonnon's is not cheap to stay at,
- 20:14Speaker 2: but they make it an experience to stay at one
- 20:16Speaker 2: of their properties, which makes it worthwhile. It's not like
- 20:18Speaker 2: saying it. You're not going to pay that to stay
- 20:20Speaker 2: at a you know, holiday inn or even a Hilton,
- 20:24Speaker 2: right if you're not getting the experience and.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Well and especially this one too because it has like
- 20:29Speaker 1: the soaking pool that you can go to this giant,
- 20:31Speaker 1: gorgeous soaking pool for free, like you don't have to
- 20:35Speaker 1: pay extra for the snowp pool. Okay, you guys ready
- 20:39Speaker 1: for some more fun stuff? Yes, okay. The Wringlers Annex
- 20:44Speaker 1: is kind of the tip of this building pie here,
- 20:48Speaker 1: and it was built just it was it's just the tip,
- 20:52Speaker 1: like literally, I can't help it.
- 20:54Speaker 2: I was gonna do that and I love you so
- 20:57Speaker 2: much that never left you more. That's what she said.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Just the tip was built in nineteen sixteen and for
- 21:06Speaker 1: time it was the smallest commercial building on the West coast.
- 21:10Speaker 1: So do you guys remember that auto shop? Yes, this
- 21:14Speaker 1: was their tire shop. Oh god, cute.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Commn I know.
- 21:20Speaker 1: And me and Caitlin like walked around the building before
- 21:22Speaker 1: we left and we did find this the Wringler's annex,
- 21:25Speaker 1: this little tip and we were like looking at it.
- 21:28Speaker 1: They have a ton of like hanging plants. Did you
- 21:30Speaker 1: guys look at it. Oh yeah, I've been in there
- 21:32Speaker 1: multiple times.
- 21:33Speaker 2: We went and.
- 21:33Speaker 4: Looked right down in through the windows into the tip.
- 21:36Speaker 2: It's like a little it's like a little bar. Now.
- 21:39Speaker 1: It kind of looks like a tiki bar. OMOI it
- 21:41Speaker 1: does a little bit, yeah, bamboo bar. Yeah, but it's
- 21:45Speaker 1: so cute in there. But they were not open, so
- 21:47Speaker 1: we could not go to the bar.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Darn it.
- 21:48Speaker 1: So what is now called How's Cafe opened as Zeus Cafe,
- 21:54Speaker 1: named after Nate Zeusman, who was known to run some
- 21:59Speaker 1: gambling in the building back in the day. He was
- 22:02Speaker 1: also known as Mark of Stark.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I don't have any clue.
- 22:07Speaker 1: What that means, to be honest, but I thought it
- 22:09Speaker 1: sounded like kind of badass, like Mark of Stark.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I don't know, I don't know. It reminded me of
- 22:14Speaker 2: Game of Throne. I was just that bad to say that.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think I'm just gonna quote these next
- 22:19Speaker 1: two parts directly from the articles, because, like you'll see, I.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Can't put it in any any better way. Quote. He
- 22:26Speaker 2: failed light detector tests in the nineteen fifties when he
- 22:31Speaker 2: was fingered by Bobby Kennedy, leading to a federal investigation
- 22:35Speaker 2: on racketeering in Portland.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Oo.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I love when people get fingered by the Kennedys. We
- 22:41Speaker 2: should all be so lucky. Unlucky. They fingered a lot
- 22:45Speaker 2: of people. Yeah, that's sure they did. They're still fingering
- 22:48Speaker 2: people today.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It goes on to say zeusman's wise cracking defense for
- 22:54Speaker 1: facilitating easy female companionship. Oh, he was just providing customer service.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Oh okay, now, oh fingering a customer service. Okay, this
- 23:06Speaker 2: is fucking hilarious.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I mean top notch stuff there.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Really, I mean really, I was just providing.
- 23:13Speaker 4: Customer serious servius. Emphasis on servis right.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I tip more than I'm just gonna say than just
- 23:24Speaker 2: the tip than just the tip.
- 23:26Speaker 1: This cafe used to be named after this man. I
- 23:30Speaker 1: have another quote from the article in the Free Love
- 23:34Speaker 1: nineteen sixties. The space now occupied by Zeus Cafe was
- 23:38Speaker 1: the Free People's Touching Company headshot. But tell me more.
- 23:43Speaker 1: When the hotel was the Men's Only Club Portland Bathhouse
- 23:47Speaker 1: until two thousand and seven, sidewalk level cafe windows were
- 23:51Speaker 1: painted black for privacy.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Oh, the Free People's Touching Cafe dun't dun't.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Don't the Free People's Touching Company headshop? Like what is
- 24:01Speaker 1: that is that was head headshop?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Yeah? I think like headquarters. Isn't that what that means?
- 24:06Speaker 2: Their head Well, no, headshop would be like where you're
- 24:09Speaker 2: selling like paraphernalia for pipes and pipes songs, and they
- 24:16Speaker 2: would often in headshops like back in the day two
- 24:19Speaker 2: they would often be like sex toys and yeah okay.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Head shops would often be like in the back corner
- 24:26Speaker 2: was like the dildo's and all that stuff, like behind
- 24:30Speaker 2: a curtain.
- 24:30Speaker 1: So that's what it was. That's what zeus cafe now
- 24:33Speaker 1: Hou's Cafe, which we nice I'm pretty sure we ate in.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Isn't that the cafe we were eating in?
- 24:38Speaker 2: Yeah? The band cafe? Yeah, yeah, How's Cafe.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they were a headshop, which yeah, now that you
- 24:45Speaker 1: keep saying headshop, it's like ringing them about Okay, yeah
- 24:47Speaker 1: I do know what that is.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like an extra three people's touch shop head nice.
- 24:56Speaker 2: I feel like there's more to this headshop. I'm like blushing.
- 24:59Speaker 2: I want to go, right, can we bring this back?
- 25:04Speaker 2: I just set up a booth in the corner and
- 25:06Speaker 2: be like we're just setting up history. The three People's
- 25:08Speaker 2: touching headshop come by and get touched just touch random
- 25:13Speaker 2: stret touch for history shit and Portland people would go
- 25:17Speaker 2: for it. Oh yeah, okay.
- 25:20Speaker 1: So we're moving on. We're moving on a little bit.
- 25:22Speaker 1: So there is a small music venue inside the hotel.
- 25:26Speaker 1: That's what's in the basement. It's called Al's Den and
- 25:30Speaker 1: it was named after Portland's nineteen forties gambling overlord, Al Winter.
- 25:36Speaker 1: So there's a lot of gambling shenanigans happened.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Do you know if it was ever legal or was was
- 25:40Speaker 2: this all illegal gambling?
- 25:43Speaker 3: Yes, I knowing what we know about Portland history, Yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 3: probably all illegal.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Because it was this is like in the late nineteen
- 25:53Speaker 2: hundreds or the right. So they named it after the
- 25:56Speaker 2: gambling overlord from the nineteen forties, right, so, because like
- 26:00Speaker 2: in the eighteen hundreds, everybody had gambling in the parties,
- 26:04Speaker 2: it would have been illegal.
- 26:05Speaker 1: But I was like, dang, this mcminimon's kind of like
- 26:07Speaker 1: has a thing for these like illegal gambling men they
- 26:10Speaker 1: do and Masonic places. I mean, yeah, don't we all Okay, ghosts,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I'm going to talk about ghosts because there's some ghosts here,
- 26:20Speaker 1: even though they claim not to.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Have a ghost log, but we don't know. I believe
- 26:25Speaker 2: that rude. I don't believe them. Rude.
- 26:29Speaker 4: I'm going to go back and go back in somebody else.
- 26:31Speaker 2: We're gonna go back and talk to some people. That's
- 26:33Speaker 2: just incompetence. If they don't have one, Honestly, it's irresponsible,
- 26:38Speaker 2: you know. Also that so some of the ghost details
- 26:42Speaker 2: I dug up were some people see orbs floating around
- 26:47Speaker 2: the rooms at night, and I guess if you see
- 26:50Speaker 2: them with your eyes, they can't be dust or a bug. Right, Nope,
- 26:54Speaker 2: hut a percent real.
- 26:55Speaker 1: They also see apparitions in both the rooms and in
- 27:00Speaker 1: the bar downstairs. Okay, I'm not sure which rooms in particular. Actually,
- 27:06Speaker 1: I might have some more information on that. Ooh, not much.
- 27:09Speaker 1: But there's one story.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Well, you remember when we stayed the White Eagle.
- 27:14Speaker 3: I was like, I had the wildest dreams?
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah, did you have wild dreams at this place?
- 27:21Speaker 3: You know, I don't think I had any crazy dreams
- 27:26Speaker 3: at this one. Just a lot of noise on the street, yeah, yeah,
- 27:30Speaker 3: in the red light.
- 27:31Speaker 2: District that we were in. Right, something spooky woke me
- 27:36Speaker 2: up at five thirty. Oh that's just every day? Was
- 27:39Speaker 2: it just life? It was just life? Yeah? Did you
- 27:44Speaker 2: guys dream anything? Crazy. I don't remember. No, I did
- 27:48Speaker 2: not have any experiences. No, I had nothing there. I
- 27:52Speaker 2: didn't even feel a vibe. Yeah, no vibe.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Even I think the white Eagle is definitely spookier.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I felt a vibe in the room between the four
- 28:01Speaker 2: of us, but that was it. Yeah, that's exactly. I
- 28:05Speaker 2: felt a weird vibe in the hot tub with the
- 28:08Speaker 2: lady that was, but that was not a good vibe.
- 28:13Speaker 2: It was filling the room, that's for sure. Okay, So
- 28:16Speaker 2: some of the spirits.
- 28:17Speaker 1: There are apparently a former caretaker, a musician, which totally
- 28:22Speaker 1: makes sense. Yeah, and a woman in white, because you
- 28:26Speaker 1: can't go anywhere haunted without a woman in white.
- 28:29Speaker 2: He's always there. But I never wear white. Everybody's in
- 28:32Speaker 2: the robes there that's not a ghost, is people? A
- 28:35Speaker 2: robe makes sense? I know. Oh my god, you solved it.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Any mcmonsterly Scooby doo over here solved it. That white
- 28:43Speaker 2: robe is all. So I'm like, I never wear white
- 28:46Speaker 2: except for when I met mcmenimon's wearing one of their robes. Seriously,
- 28:51Speaker 2: if they were like a ghost in all of them drab,
- 28:56Speaker 2: then I would believe it all have draws. It would
- 28:59Speaker 2: have been me.
- 29:00Speaker 3: She was in like jeans and then like three shades
- 29:03Speaker 3: of gray.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Right exactly. Her hair isn't a pony it me. I
- 29:11Speaker 2: don't know.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I always just think like is it just a normal
- 29:14Speaker 1: lady in a dress, but like because she's a ghost,
- 29:16Speaker 1: she's like see through, so people think it's white.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I maybe I don't know ethereal e cereal.
- 29:24Speaker 3: I used to think like, oh, it's got to be
- 29:27Speaker 3: like old timey like wedding dresses and stuff like that.
- 29:30Speaker 2: A lot of times, right, I'm always pictured or like nightgown.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Yeah that's what I picked.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, But truthfully, like if you think about it,
- 29:39Speaker 3: the truly like white wedding dress is like such a
- 29:43Speaker 3: modern like thing that really, like if you're thinking about
- 29:48Speaker 3: somebody from like eighteen hundreds, well, okay, so that doesn't
- 29:52Speaker 3: necessarily denote a bride. Yeah, my wedding dress had white,
- 29:57Speaker 3: but it wasn't like, you know, white all Lowe for.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Well and white wasn't a wedding thing always like that's
- 30:04Speaker 2: a fair That's what I'm saying. Really modern. So really,
- 30:07Speaker 2: if it was an old timing person, it would have
- 30:08Speaker 2: been like homespun calico and probably gray or gray. A
- 30:14Speaker 2: woman in gray is much more realistic, because even if
- 30:20Speaker 2: it started out as white, it's probably gray now dingy.
- 30:24Speaker 3: But maybe they show themselves how they think we want
- 30:27Speaker 3: to see them.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Maybe you got deepest bunk today. I know all of
- 30:34Speaker 2: us like we're speechless. Okay. What I really want people
- 30:39Speaker 2: to see me as is in a gold sequin dress,
- 30:43Speaker 2: so it would be the Ghost of Gold sequence because
- 30:46Speaker 2: I never wear it, but I really want to be.
- 30:48Speaker 2: It's just like party time all the time. That's what
- 30:50Speaker 2: I want people to see me as. I want everyone
- 30:52Speaker 2: to see me naked. Oh, there you go. You never
- 30:56Speaker 2: hear about naked. That's hilariously all right, let's all make
- 30:59Speaker 2: a pack that when we die, if we're going to
- 31:01Speaker 2: ghost somebody, if we're gonna haunt, we're gonna be naked. Okay, Well,
- 31:05Speaker 2: here's the thing. If you watch that that series Ghost,
- 31:08Speaker 2: you gotta be naked when you die. When you get
- 31:11Speaker 2: sucked off what I mean, not watched Ghosts. Oh my god,
- 31:17Speaker 2: it's on Paramount Plus. It's so hilarious. When a ghost
- 31:20Speaker 2: gets taken up by the light. They they're like, Oh,
- 31:23Speaker 2: I got sucked off. I want to get sucked off too.
- 31:27Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I haven't seen all of that, but I've seen like
- 31:31Speaker 1: the first couple of episodes.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Oh it's so good. It's so funny, especially the neighbors
- 31:35Speaker 2: that are swingers. With all the upisode down, Pineapple, I
- 31:38Speaker 2: have one more thing to tell you. So, someone named
- 31:42Speaker 2: Kimberly left a comment on April twenty first, twenty twenty four.
- 31:47Speaker 2: It's about about a year ago I wrote, which is true. Okay, yeah,
- 31:52Speaker 2: that is true. Accurate.
- 31:55Speaker 1: It was probably like literally a year ago when I
- 31:57Speaker 1: wrote this, but anyway, yeah, it says that room two
- 32:01Speaker 1: twelve is super haunted in Go. You were so close,
- 32:07Speaker 1: I know, I know, sharing a wall. We'll see what
- 32:10Speaker 1: Kimberly says. Their comment says, my daughter was in the shower,
- 32:14Speaker 1: no one else was around, and the bathroom door opened
- 32:17Speaker 1: and slammed shut. She thought it was one of us,
- 32:20Speaker 1: but we were down in the soaking pool and she
- 32:22Speaker 1: was alone. She also said she had like what sounds
- 32:26Speaker 1: like very disturbing nightmares all night long.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Did they have did they have a private bathroom?
- 32:31Speaker 4: I was gonna say, that's.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I know, or did somebody just use their card key
- 32:37Speaker 2: open the door and slam it shot? Maybe if she
- 32:40Speaker 2: didn't have Okay, so yeah, Jody just explained it, So
- 32:44Speaker 2: I'm freaking scooby doo. The only rooms that have private
- 32:48Speaker 2: bathrooms are on the corners. I'm pretty sure because I
- 32:51Speaker 2: stayed in one with a private bathroom. So everything in
- 32:53Speaker 2: the hallway, So two twelve would have been right next
- 32:55Speaker 2: to ours, so they would have been using the common bathroom.
- 32:58Speaker 2: And we don't turn the dead bolt. Yes, somebody else
- 33:03Speaker 2: can use their key card opened it up. So if
- 33:06Speaker 2: they opened it up and they were like, oh shit,
- 33:08Speaker 2: somebody's in here and slammed it, Jody just explained that
- 33:11Speaker 2: one away, So freaking genius tonight.
- 33:14Speaker 1: No, that totally explains it unless she had the door locked, right,
- 33:18Speaker 1: that's right.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Information, but probably not.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I would assume she just didn't lock the door because
- 33:26Speaker 1: I don't know if it was a kid. She has
- 33:28Speaker 1: said her daughter, so I don't know how old the
- 33:30Speaker 1: daughter was, but yeah, yeah.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Someone younger. Well, I mean also, like, you have to
- 33:36Speaker 2: use your key card to get into the bathroom, so
- 33:38Speaker 2: I think you do that and you don't always. Yeah,
- 33:40Speaker 2: I think you think that you have to lock it.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Yeah you should.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I mean I have to remember there is I mean
- 33:46Speaker 2: I have been sitting there pooping many times. And been
- 33:49Speaker 2: like I did not lock this door in those those
- 33:52Speaker 2: shared bathrooms.
- 33:53Speaker 1: To pinch it off and waddle. Okay, well, we didn't
- 33:58Speaker 1: have very many exciting ghosts. Story used to tell you, guys,
- 34:01Speaker 1: but maybe one day if we get our.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Oh maybe that's why they don't have a log book.
- 34:05Speaker 2: Maybe there is nothing to blog. Maybe I was calling
- 34:07Speaker 2: them incompetent and they were just using their time wisely.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Right, No, I don't think so, I don't buy it.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Here's my theory. Okay, So if I'm gonna say I'm
- 34:18Speaker 2: a person that believes in ghosts, if it was a
- 34:21Speaker 2: gay bath house back in the seventies, then it was
- 34:24Speaker 2: only good times in that building, and so good time
- 34:27Speaker 2: ghosts don't haunt you as much as like sad time ghosts.
- 34:31Speaker 4: I mean, sure, but that's only the seventies.
- 34:34Speaker 2: You haven't seen Broke Back Mountain. That is one movie
- 34:39Speaker 2: also that I say. They can't have had all good times.
- 34:43Speaker 2: There's alcohol and men in the same room. Lawyered Broke
- 34:46Speaker 2: that Mountain was out in the middle of nowhere. I'm saying,
- 34:49Speaker 2: you can't have a hotel full of drunk men and
- 34:52Speaker 2: not problems. They didn't have a soaking pool to relax in.
- 34:58Speaker 2: It was a bath house full drunk men having sex
- 35:01Speaker 2: and having the time of their life. So those go
- 35:03Speaker 2: show up and they just want you to party, and
- 35:05Speaker 2: you don't realize that it's a ghost because you're just
- 35:08Speaker 2: having a good time. You're just hanging out. You didn't
- 35:11Speaker 2: even know you all the even hauntings were just somebody
- 35:14Speaker 2: that showed up and wanted to party because it was
- 35:17Speaker 2: all the good time ghosts from when it was a
- 35:19Speaker 2: gay bathouse. That's my theory.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Could be that they just thought it was a guy
- 35:23Speaker 3: who showed up like, you know, after work, and what
- 35:28Speaker 3: they didn't realize was it was somebody actually dressed up like.
- 35:32Speaker 2: All well timey seventies.
- 35:34Speaker 4: You know, No, I'm saying in the seventies.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Oh, they wouldn't have if somebody showed up like in
- 35:44Speaker 3: you know, something that maybe didn't look like.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Right, wasn't that long ago? Well and also right nowadays,
- 35:52Speaker 2: if somebody showed up dressed like and looking like they
- 35:54Speaker 2: came from the nineteen seventies, and it would be buddy
- 35:56Speaker 2: would bat nye because that's kind of come back around,
- 35:59Speaker 2: like the shaggy hair pete like get that it looks
- 36:03Speaker 2: so authentic right, they'd just be amazed they no ghosts
- 36:07Speaker 2: from the nineteen seventies if they showed up now wanting
- 36:10Speaker 2: to like party in the mcminimon's soaking pool. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:15Speaker 2: so that's my theory.
- 36:16Speaker 1: None of the ghosts are scary for do you think
- 36:19Speaker 1: they the ghosts show up like just dick out and
- 36:22Speaker 1: they're just like, why is no one like sucking me
- 36:24Speaker 1: off right now?
- 36:25Speaker 2: Like why is there women down there? Yeah? What is
- 36:27Speaker 2: going on right now?
- 36:29Speaker 3: Well? What?
- 36:30Speaker 2: So I guess what we really should be asking the
- 36:32Speaker 2: hotel is how many peomen have showed up in the
- 36:34Speaker 2: bathtub with their dick out? And then we could be like,
- 36:39Speaker 2: that's a ghost, not actually somebody just being a sex
- 36:43Speaker 2: perverts and they just thought they were at a gay
- 36:46Speaker 2: bath house. We solved it.
- 36:49Speaker 3: This isn't a me too situation. It's sort of a haunt,
- 36:54Speaker 3: you know.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Uh huh yeah yeah. So moral of the story is
- 36:58Speaker 2: if somebody shows you their dick and the mc minimums
- 37:01Speaker 2: soaking pool, it's a ghost, it's fine, roll with it.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Or if you want to go there and show your dick,
- 37:07Speaker 2: just claim you're a ghost. No, I would love to
- 37:13Speaker 2: see how that plays out. Jony just gave people permission
- 37:17Speaker 2: to expose themselves and mc minims just say your ghosts.
- 37:21Speaker 4: I think you both did. You're equally culpable.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Minimums is going to sue us.
- 37:27Speaker 1: The opinions of the podcast do not necessarily reflect the
- 37:32Speaker 1: opinions of the BMW Hanson homos Nides podcast.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I solved two mysteries tonight. Okay, I'm the one who's
- 37:42Speaker 2: supposed to be the big skeptics and solving things, and
- 37:45Speaker 2: she did it tonight. Look, I was the one who
- 37:47Speaker 2: was in supportive gig ghosts. I'm the hopeful skeptic. I'm
- 37:51Speaker 2: always like yeah, because I need the facts. I need
- 37:54Speaker 2: it to be so real. I'm looking for that. And
- 37:58Speaker 2: also in science, right, science, you go out to the
- 38:01Speaker 2: whole thing is you prove yourself wrong. I love it. Sure,
- 38:05Speaker 2: that is science. You you put your your theory out
- 38:08Speaker 2: and then you go to work trying to prove yourself wrong.
- 38:10Speaker 2: And that is what I do with ghost hunting, and
- 38:13Speaker 2: that is how I've solved mysteries. Well, and the bathroom
- 38:15Speaker 2: door slamming, shared bathroom, but it's been pretty easy to solve.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Also the nightmares also, nightmares all the time. I know, Okay,
- 38:28Speaker 2: what we're the nightmares.
- 38:30Speaker 3: All right, Well you should hang out with us more
- 38:32Speaker 3: because I will have to want theted because listen, here's
- 38:35Speaker 3: the thing is, Cassie believes in it and it doesn't
- 38:39Speaker 3: want nothing.
- 38:41Speaker 2: We talk about it all the time.
- 38:42Speaker 3: It's like it's such a fuck boy energy with like
- 38:46Speaker 3: spooky stuff. It's like, no, I want the girl that
- 38:50Speaker 3: doesn't want me, you know with me? Yeah, okay, you're
- 38:55Speaker 3: just you're just tuned out. I just have such a
- 38:58Speaker 3: wall up your Yeah, your walls too.
- 39:00Speaker 2: And they have this.
- 39:02Speaker 3: They know I'm a people pleaser and they know that
- 39:04Speaker 3: I have ADHD and they know they know it all
- 39:07Speaker 3: and they're like, oh bitch, they saw me coming.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Okay, hey hey you hey you Okay, Well, next time
- 39:15Speaker 2: we go out, we all have to keep dream journals.
- 39:17Speaker 3: Oh okay, and compare I like that. Okay, that's the
- 39:21Speaker 3: tip of the iceberg. We need to just have like
- 39:25Speaker 3: wrist watches that are like EMF readers.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Okay, Oh yeah, let's do this ship, let's do it right.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Next next field trip, we're gonna go somewhere that is
- 39:35Speaker 2: supposed to be super haunted. Maybe we're gonna like his
- 39:37Speaker 2: see the Head or something. Oh yeah, have you been.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we could. We could do one of those
- 39:42Speaker 2: rooms down at GET. Is there like an electrical thing
- 39:47Speaker 2: suit you can wear? There's there's things we can do.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Cassie knows actually a lot more about it. Yeah, they totally.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I can get you a ghost protector suit on Amazon
- 39:58Speaker 1: and you're gonna be good to go okay.
- 40:00Speaker 2: On Amazon, but it's gonna be one hundred and forty
- 40:04Speaker 2: percent more because of.
- 40:06Speaker 3: It.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Is nice though, to actually have like been somewhere so
- 40:10Speaker 1: we could see the bathroom situation and then we know, okay, yes,
- 40:14Speaker 1: these are all shared bathrooms. Because if you had never
- 40:16Speaker 1: been there and read the comment, like, you might think
- 40:19Speaker 1: that is spooky, but since we've been there, we can say, like, oh,
- 40:23Speaker 1: it's not that spooky.
- 40:25Speaker 3: I still think it's spooky because I feel like women
- 40:29Speaker 3: are locking the bathroom doors. Now you might forget, you
- 40:34Speaker 3: might forget, but I think women are locking the doors.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Well, thankfully someone slammed it and didn't just go in,
- 40:41Speaker 2: so exactly. I've actually, because I've stayed at MC minimums
- 40:45Speaker 2: enough with the shared bathrooms. I have had people open
- 40:47Speaker 2: up the door when I was in there because I
- 40:49Speaker 2: forgot to lock it. So it's not unhering, and it's
- 40:51Speaker 2: slammed because somebody went, oh shit, Yeah, because when you're no,
- 40:55Speaker 2: absolutely either because you're either on the toilet and you
- 40:58Speaker 2: yell or you're in the shower and they realized that,
- 41:01Speaker 2: oh shit, somebody's in here. And I have done that
- 41:03Speaker 2: to people as well. So yes, explains that one for sure.
- 41:07Speaker 3: No, I mean, women are still humans, so we forget things.
- 41:12Speaker 3: But I would say, by and large, you know, most
- 41:15Speaker 3: of the time we're just situationally more aware of the
- 41:20Speaker 3: fact that somebody could like walk in on me when
- 41:22Speaker 3: I'm in the shower or I'm on the toilet or whatever.
- 41:25Speaker 2: But weirdly, there's a sense of security at mcminimums that
- 41:29Speaker 2: I feel like I let my guard down more. It's
- 41:30Speaker 2: like you're at home. Yeah, yeah, that's the thing. I'm
- 41:32Speaker 2: aut mcmenimums. It's like I'm at home. I wear my
- 41:35Speaker 2: socks around into the bathroom, which is say I did that.
- 41:38Speaker 2: I wrote my socks into the path of other people
- 41:45Speaker 2: around the toilet and I'm in my use this room.
- 41:49Speaker 2: But I'm like, but I'm just across the hall. I
- 41:51Speaker 2: don't need to put on shoes, do I.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Honestly, Olive Garden they have, you know, the saying
- 41:58Speaker 3: like when you're here your family, and I feel like
- 42:00Speaker 3: that's like the mcminimuon, like yeah, yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 1: That is true, but I agree you wear be safe
- 42:09Speaker 1: not maybe not everyone is safe. So please lock the
- 42:12Speaker 1: Commutero bathroom doors.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Yeah, always lock the door.
- 42:17Speaker 2: You'll care it. We're doing it.
- 42:19Speaker 1: We have to pick a deck, Okay, I have supernatural
- 42:22Speaker 1: or stranger things or beetle juice or Nightmer before Christmas.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Oh oh god, you have to make me choose between
- 42:31Speaker 2: beetle juice night Mary before Christmas? Can I choose? Because
- 42:36Speaker 2: that's what I was gonna choose? Okay, I haven't used
- 42:39Speaker 2: this deck in so long.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Yes, please indulge her because there's certain things she's not
- 42:46Speaker 3: allowed to do at my house. Do you guys want
- 42:48Speaker 3: to play with the Ouiji board?
- 42:49Speaker 2: I mean I'm down for anything. Okay.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Oh my god, please someone Wiji with me because I
- 42:56Speaker 1: can't with Caitlin anymore.
- 42:58Speaker 2: No, Oh my god, I'm gonna ouigi Cassie so hard.
- 43:02Speaker 2: He's luigimi. She makes it a verb.
- 43:05Speaker 3: My god, you guys, you don't understand. Like I want
- 43:10Speaker 3: to make her happy.
- 43:11Speaker 2: I love her. Oh she wants to Ouigi. But she
- 43:14Speaker 2: can't Wigi. She needs Ouiji viagra. No, I can't. She Actually,
- 43:19Speaker 2: she's in an open relationship with the weed with you.
- 43:22Speaker 2: When it comes to Ouigi, I can't. She needs somebody
- 43:25Speaker 2: else to wigi her. It's like here too much for me.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Caitlin refuses to Wigimi. She's never wants Oige. I won't.
- 43:34Speaker 2: My pod wife just isn't into Wigi. So I have
- 43:37Speaker 2: to find Oigi outside of this relationship.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Listen, polyamory is all about communication, Okay.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's very clear you've discussed it and
- 43:51Speaker 2: you're on and you're okay. If she needs, if she
- 43:53Speaker 2: needs to have her Ouigi needs met outside of this relationship.
- 43:56Speaker 2: You guys obviously are fine with that. Yeah.
- 43:59Speaker 1: I mean to get my weet, Okay, I'm going to
- 44:05Speaker 1: shuffle the energy of the Crystal Hotel into this deck,
- 44:08Speaker 1: and you all have to send your energy to me.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Okay. Well, I feel like the energy of the Crystal
- 44:14Speaker 2: Hotel escape send all the gay Bowery to me. Put
- 44:19Speaker 2: it in this Nightmare before Christmas deck. I'm sending naked
- 44:23Speaker 2: ghost energy. Yeah.
- 44:26Speaker 1: I feel like I can't pick a card because you
- 44:28Speaker 1: guys aren't sending me enough energy.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Oh sorry, I'm soaking in the salt water.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Oh see see you see how easy that was when
- 44:36Speaker 1: you guys send me energy. Oh it is the eight
- 44:41Speaker 1: of wands called the eight of candles, which I'm pretty
- 44:45Speaker 1: sure candles are one. So we got the fun silly guy.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I don't know his name or like what to call him.
- 44:51Speaker 2: They look like coral snake in a different color. His
- 44:54Speaker 2: whole head is snakes. Yeah, he's got snakehead like joker snakes.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Okay, I have it, Yes, let me know when you're ready.
- 45:04Speaker 4: Little Ma's class. That's probably too fast.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Right, dude. That is that's energy you're getting from the card.
- 45:12Speaker 2: Let me.
- 45:12Speaker 1: It's this one's just like a tiny paragraph and then
- 45:14Speaker 1: I'll let you read the book. So it says the
- 45:16Speaker 1: aid of Candles shows things are changing quickly. Now you're
- 45:20Speaker 1: feeling industrious and inventive and heading into a fast paced
- 45:25Speaker 1: time just literally the next week. Yeah right, I'll have
- 45:30Speaker 1: so much to do. Yeah, for sure, use this fresh
- 45:35Speaker 1: inspired energy to transform the mundane into something delightful. Which
- 45:39Speaker 1: I feel like that's like the energy of the mcminimums.
- 45:41Speaker 1: This whole thing a thousand.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, everything's there is just a little bit more magical.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Oh hey, it's I have tours for pretty gritty tours
- 45:53Speaker 2: on Sunday where I'm just like taking old people to
- 45:55Speaker 2: the bone side gardens into Paul's bow. I'm gonna take
- 45:59Speaker 2: the mundane and turn into something magical. Yeah cute. I
- 46:03Speaker 2: love it. If anyone can do it, you can do it.
- 46:06Speaker 2: I feel like we all do that. Okay.
- 46:08Speaker 3: Our keywords are action, excitement, new experiences, and urgency.
- 46:16Speaker 2: What did I say?
- 46:17Speaker 4: Something right?
- 46:20Speaker 2: Sounds like a gay bathhouse to me, and.
- 46:22Speaker 3: I described it as a lama's urgency. When the aid
- 46:31Speaker 3: of wands appears, you can expect your life to speed
- 46:34Speaker 3: up big time, almost like you're giving birth. I don't know, listen,
- 46:38Speaker 3: that was my interpretation. Apparently, this card suggests lots of
- 46:43Speaker 3: action and excitement coming your way. This is the carpet
- 46:47Speaker 3: dim card. Whatever you put into motion now takes off
- 46:52Speaker 3: at a rapid pace. They eight may also indicate a
- 46:55Speaker 3: whirlwind trip.
- 46:57Speaker 2: A WorldWind trip, like a girl's trip, like a girl's
- 47:01Speaker 2: pod trip. I don't know. Yeah, we had a whirlwind
- 47:05Speaker 2: trip together. Now we nailed it. I know we need
- 47:10Speaker 2: another I mean yeah, I think it's saying we need
- 47:13Speaker 2: another one. Yeah, Yeah, that sound future. That everything in
- 47:17Speaker 2: that sounded future. So that girl's trip anticipation. I like it.
- 47:21Speaker 3: The eight may also indicate a whirlwind trip. That's where
- 47:25Speaker 3: we left off. And this was upright and correct. Yes,
- 47:30Speaker 3: okay it was straighta.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Straighta like a gay man's dick in a bath house.
- 47:37Speaker 2: Okay, I'm done with the gay man jokes, like.
- 47:39Speaker 4: A gay man's cocktail.
- 47:43Speaker 3: This card shows a busy period in your life when
- 47:46Speaker 3: you feel catapulted towards something you desire. Even though you
- 47:50Speaker 3: may be a bit overwhelmed, You're excited and inspired, confident
- 47:56Speaker 3: that all will turn out well, take a few risks, break,
- 48:00Speaker 3: try new things, and let go of what no longer
- 48:03Speaker 3: suits you.
- 48:04Speaker 2: That reminds me of the family that came from the
- 48:06Speaker 2: internment camp too, where they had this whole new life
- 48:11Speaker 2: hastened after they took a chance in purchasing something. I mean,
- 48:15Speaker 2: thank goodness they were even able to do that.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Right, Okay, this next part actually makes me.
- 48:22Speaker 3: That feels like maybe it could be a tie in
- 48:25Speaker 3: in a reading about money. You may experience rapid gains
- 48:29Speaker 3: or sudden opportunities. Perhaps you feel a sense of urgency
- 48:36Speaker 3: in financial areas and may need to make split second decisions.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Or that could be like the gambling could be that.
- 48:43Speaker 3: Also, in a reading about work, the upright eight suggests
- 48:47Speaker 3: a time of inspiration when things happen fast and you have.
- 48:52Speaker 2: To make quick decisions.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Your career moves forward rapidly and you have to hustle
- 48:58Speaker 3: to keep up. This card can also represent job related
- 49:02Speaker 3: travel ladies. Yeah, we're my pod hose up.
- 49:08Speaker 2: That is cool that we this was like a job
- 49:11Speaker 2: related traveling trip. And then right, I feel like it's
- 49:14Speaker 2: it's this we pulled a good tarot there, Cassie. No,
- 49:17Speaker 2: I think that one's just saying that I have to
- 49:19Speaker 2: go to Woodenviille tomorrow. It's I don't really want to go. Yeah,
- 49:24Speaker 2: that's like what an hour and a half? Oh god gross.
- 49:29Speaker 3: In a reading about love, the upright eight points to
- 49:32Speaker 3: a passionate and exciting romance. It can indicate a sudden
- 49:39Speaker 3: love affair that sweeps you off your feet, or a
- 49:41Speaker 3: hasty marriage.
- 49:43Speaker 2: But it's just my dog. But did you say a
- 49:45Speaker 2: hasty marriage?
- 49:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 49:46Speaker 2: Married quickly? Are we going to Vegas? Is our marriage
- 49:52Speaker 2: with you?
- 49:55Speaker 3: Oh?
- 49:55Speaker 2: My god? You guys? Can we get pod married? We could? Well?
- 50:00Speaker 2: I mean I already have a pod wife. But I'm
- 50:02Speaker 2: not opposed to pod polygamy. Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing.
- 50:07Speaker 2: I was already like pottyamory. I mean it's right there
- 50:13Speaker 2: in the name. It really is Polly Pottery. No, that
- 50:18Speaker 2: sounds like together. I'm gonna have to work shot this
- 50:22Speaker 2: ghost pottery. It all ties together. Yeah, yeah, okay, I
- 50:28Speaker 2: have one cool thing. So after I decided that I
- 50:32Speaker 2: couldn't remember who this Oh you can't really see it,
- 50:34Speaker 2: but on the card, I couldn't remember who this was.
- 50:36Speaker 2: And I was like, I had an epiphany.
- 50:38Speaker 1: This is the most flamboyant character in the fucking movie. Yeah,
- 50:45Speaker 1: and it's the harlequin demon is his name. I googled it.
- 50:49Speaker 1: So he's like the one that's like he makes like
- 50:52Speaker 1: the fancy hat I think, or.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Something that's incredible. I love it.
- 50:56Speaker 1: But I just thought that was interesting that we pulled.
- 50:58Speaker 1: We pulled the gay careater. Yeah we didn't.
- 51:02Speaker 2: I love it. That's amazing. She didn't you hear? Cat?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Where'sn't Kaitlyn going bath house? Bath house? Yeah? She totally
- 51:11Speaker 2: that was her energy she was giving.
- 51:13Speaker 1: And then I felt the card like yeah, so anyway,
- 51:17Speaker 1: we got the gay card.
- 51:18Speaker 3: No, I mean it's safe to assume that I'm either
- 51:21Speaker 3: hungry or I want to go to the bath house,
- 51:23Speaker 3: and that applies even when I'm not a nick Minimus.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Ye have a creepy ass day, See you down the
- 51:34Speaker 2: rabbit hole.
