- 0:07Speaker 1: go playoffs starting in like ten minutes in real life.
- 0:11Speaker 1: But hopefully you'll listen to us while you're taking a
- 0:13Speaker 1: peek at Guardians and Tigers, and then very important for
- 0:18Speaker 1: you to know in the FT fam you're gonna hang
- 0:20Speaker 1: with us for a couple hours. Maybe you're sticking around
- 0:23Speaker 1: for the Many Ramirez conversation, or you're Blue Jay Span
- 0:25Speaker 1: and you want to hear from Tyler Heineman, or you
- 0:27Speaker 1: love Ken Rosenthal. But we will have a postgame show
- 0:31Speaker 1: today after the Cubs and the Padres. For that show,
- 0:36Speaker 1: we will address what happened in Tigers Guardians, but first
- 0:39Speaker 1: we will start with our instant analysis right after that
- 0:42Speaker 1: game ends on how the Padres and Cubs finished up
- 0:45Speaker 1: their game one. We will be live on the FT
- 0:47Speaker 1: YouTube channel. If you miss it, you can go back
- 0:49Speaker 1: to it later or you can listen to the podcast,
- 0:51Speaker 1: which we'll post soon after that. Yankees Red Sox will
- 0:54Speaker 1: have Monster Territory and Pinstripe Territory with postgame shows. Dodgers'
- 0:58Speaker 1: territories can have a postgame show after read so if
- 1:01Speaker 1: you would like a recap on any of the four
- 1:04Speaker 1: games today. You have an option on the FT network.
- 1:07Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Are we allowed to root for teams?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yeah? Uh not you?
- 1:12Speaker 2: Why not me?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Because you have a game coming up?
- 1:16Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean you're doing at root for the Padres.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you can root for the Padres. Yeah? Why
- 1:21Speaker 1: because you love the cub so much? Exactly brackets. Let's
- 1:27Speaker 1: do it just quick hitter though, because I got a
- 1:30Speaker 1: lot to get to today, So krats, give me your
- 1:33Speaker 1: breakdown of what you think is going to happen over
- 1:35Speaker 1: the next few weeks.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I think the Phillies are gonna win the World Series.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I think the Mariners are going to make it to
- 1:40Speaker 3: the World Series. And I think that's rage baiting when
- 1:44Speaker 3: you choose a team to cheer against, not a team
- 1:47Speaker 3: to cheer four.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Explain anything else here. You got like thirty seconds. So
- 1:53Speaker 1: you've got the Tigers and Mariners, the Yankees and the
- 1:55Speaker 1: Blue Jays.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I think the series.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I think the series between the Red Sox Yankees is
- 2:00Speaker 3: gonna be the billing that it like everybody thinks it's
- 2:05Speaker 3: gonna be. I think it's gonna be a great series.
- 2:06Speaker 3: The Dodgers series is sorry Red, It's a nice job.
- 2:10Speaker 3: And I think the Cubs and Padres series is gonna
- 2:13Speaker 3: be knock them out, drag him.
- 2:16Speaker 2: It's gonna be. I think it's gonna be awesome to
- 2:18Speaker 2: watch for sure.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Okay, there you go.
- 2:22Speaker 2: This is the most homersh bracket I've ever seen in
- 2:24Speaker 2: my life. I mean, Brewers, Phillies, and the NLCS. I mean,
- 2:30Speaker 2: come on, Broy, Phillies win because I'm a Phillies fan
- 2:37Speaker 2: in the playoffs?
- 2:39Speaker 1: True, what would you do if the White Sox were
- 2:41Speaker 1: in the playoffs?
- 2:42Speaker 2: I wouldn't pick them if they weren't gonna win. Okay,
- 2:46Speaker 2: I did the White Sox Astros in twenty one, and
- 2:49Speaker 2: everyone said I hated the White Sox.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Why did you think that?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Because he said that, I was grew open the rooting
- 2:55Speaker 2: against the White Sox.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Oh how dare you not say that?
- 2:58Speaker 2: The project?
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah all right, So what's your bracket breakdown?
- 3:03Speaker 2: I went anti Crats. Actually, I just picked every team.
- 3:05Speaker 2: The Crats you know, didn't play for that. We made
- 3:08Speaker 2: it all the way to the postseason. Dodgers, I know,
- 3:12Speaker 2: Dodgers beat the Reds, Dodgers beat the Phillies, Padres beat
- 3:15Speaker 2: the Cubs, Brewers beat the Padres, Dodgers beat the Brewers
- 3:19Speaker 2: go to the World Series. Detroit beats the Guardians. Uh,
- 3:25Speaker 2: what's the other series? Yankees beat the Red Sox, Yankees
- 3:28Speaker 2: beat the Blue Jays, Mariners beat the Tigers, Mariners beat
- 3:33Speaker 2: the Yankees in the longest travel of all time in
- 3:37Speaker 2: LCS history. And at the end of the day, the
- 3:40Speaker 2: Dodgers beat the.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Mariners, Dodgers Mariners. Nice, Okay, I can see it. I'll
- 3:48Speaker 1: go last. I guess I like Crats. I have the
- 3:53Speaker 1: Tigers and the Mariners meeting up. I have the Yankees
- 3:55Speaker 1: and Blue Jays. We have a lot of similarities here, Crats.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I have the Mariners taking down the Blue Jays a
- 4:00Speaker 1: little pitching edge there, Dodgers beating the Reds, Phillies beating
- 4:05Speaker 1: the Dodgers with a pitching edge. There in my mind,
- 4:08Speaker 1: Padres and Brewers matching up. Padres quote upsetting them, Padres
- 4:14Speaker 1: and Phillies rematch from a series you did, right, didn't
- 4:17Speaker 1: you do that series? Or no? But that was that
- 4:21Speaker 1: was when the Padres you were that year, right, we
- 4:23Speaker 1: had Padres Dodgers, Padres Dodgers ago, yeah, two years ago,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and then it was they might have been three years ago.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I don't know. Whatever twenty two Padres, Phillies, Phillies take
- 4:33Speaker 1: them down, Phillies and Mariners Phillies quote last dance with
- 4:37Speaker 1: this group intact in my mind, then they win it.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Okay, you know what I did. I did the two
- 4:42Speaker 2: teams I almost played for. I made it to the
- 4:44Speaker 2: World Series because I almost played for the Mariners and
- 4:47Speaker 2: I almost played for the Dodgers. I I thought I'd
- 4:51Speaker 2: signed with the Dodgers one year. I thought I was
- 4:53Speaker 2: getting traded to the Mariners. But somehow they both got
- 4:55Speaker 2: nicked at the last second.
- 4:56Speaker 1: So that's why what would those two Mariners story is hilarious,
- 4:59Speaker 1: but we don't have time for it, right, Yeah, Yeah, this.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Is the Crats postseason. Only two teams I did not
- 5:05Speaker 3: play for that are in the postseason. So I had
- 5:08Speaker 3: a tough choice not to choose somebody I didn't play.
- 5:11Speaker 1: For, right, hard not to be a homer in this
- 5:15Speaker 1: series when you've played for most of the teams Phillies
- 5:18Speaker 1: and Brewers, yes, and a little Yankee action, yes, full
- 5:22Speaker 1: Homer and Blue Jays. I mean, there's there's just so many.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Teams anyway, so many.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Aj Let's talk steaks, Omaha steaks to be precise, Big

- 6:29Speaker 2: Charging about.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Postseason X factors. What is an X factor. Don't worry
- 6:35Speaker 1: about it. Just name the postseason X factor players and
- 6:39Speaker 1: then we'll decide if they are legit X factors. Let's
- 6:43Speaker 1: throw names like back and forth. So you start with
- 6:45Speaker 1: one name that you think is a big X factor
- 6:47Speaker 1: in October.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Hobby bios. Why because do they get the good hobby
- 6:52Speaker 2: bios or do they get the bad hobby bios in
- 6:53Speaker 2: the second half? Where does he plays? He play center?
- 6:55Speaker 2: Does he play short? Does he bounce around? Well, he's
- 6:58Speaker 2: stay in the strike zone. Can he do things to
- 7:00Speaker 2: help them? I think Harvey Bayo's is a big thing.
- 7:02Speaker 2: If the Detroit Tigers want to go deep into the postseason.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Shortstop nine spot in Game one.
- 7:10Speaker 2: There you go. But he's got to hit, and he's
- 7:12Speaker 2: gotta have forget hitting. He's just gotta have good at bats,
- 7:15Speaker 2: productive at bats when he needs to.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yeah, the first couple of months, man, he fell off.
- 7:20Speaker 1: In the last four months.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Second half, he.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Was Okay, that's a good name to start. I like
- 7:25Speaker 1: that name.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Kratz, Trek Scouble, No.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Are you messing with us?
- 7:33Speaker 2: We had the same conversation last year. He's the best
- 7:38Speaker 2: pitcher in the game. He's not an X factor. He
- 7:40Speaker 2: is the factor.
- 7:43Speaker 3: X factor has to be somebody who if they don't
- 7:48Speaker 3: play well, their team doesn't win.
- 7:51Speaker 2: No, it's the other way. You need somebody that will
- 7:52Speaker 2: play well in order to help the team win. Okay,
- 7:57Speaker 2: because everyone expects Trek Scouble to do something, it has
- 7:59Speaker 2: to be somebody that no one is expecting. Those are
- 8:02Speaker 2: the X factors. Like last year, who was the X
- 8:05Speaker 2: factor for the Dodgers? Key k Hernandez had big hits
- 8:09Speaker 2: for the.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Dog Tommy Edmund.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Tommy Edmund was an X factor for him because you
- 8:13Speaker 2: show in Freddy Young Carlo Stanton last year and you
- 8:17Speaker 2: guys roasted me for that. Because he's playoff John Carlow,
- 8:20Speaker 2: they expect him to do well.
- 8:22Speaker 1: No, I think that was a much better pick than
- 8:23Speaker 1: Schooble score a grate, a top three pitcher in the sport.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:27Speaker 1: I went to chat ept on this one and said,
- 8:30Speaker 1: is Schooble qualifying as a legit X factor or doesn't
- 8:34Speaker 1: need to be a more unexpected name. They said, if
- 8:36Speaker 1: you mean the guy who can swing the whole postseason,
- 8:39Speaker 1: then yes. If you mean unexpected breakout, then no.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Well to me, it's an unexpected breakout.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Unexpected breakout, then my Tigers. X factor is going any team, No, No,
- 8:54Speaker 3: I still think it's Tigers because I think they they
- 8:56Speaker 3: can make They can make more of a run at
- 8:59Speaker 3: the Mariners then I think the Guardians can. So that's
- 9:02Speaker 3: why I was going Tigers. Parker Meadows, Parker Medi's the
- 9:07Speaker 3: X factor plays a premium position, but he may not
- 9:11Speaker 3: play that premium position. He may not Hobby may play
- 9:16Speaker 3: center field, depending on who's on the mound, the Mariners. Obviously,
- 9:20Speaker 3: I'm putting cart before the horse here. They have to
- 9:23Speaker 3: beat the Guardians, but when they play the Mariners, he's
- 9:26Speaker 3: going to be out there. They're not throwing a lefty out,
- 9:28Speaker 3: They're not throwing a lefty starter. So he's going to
- 9:30Speaker 3: get a ton of burn in center field. And what
- 9:33Speaker 3: kind of at bats does he put up? And he
- 9:36Speaker 3: is He's got a chance some day to win Golden Center.
- 9:42Speaker 1: The turm X factor gets thrown around in sports all
- 9:44Speaker 1: the time, but it isn't always used consistently. It's a
- 9:48Speaker 1: player whose performance can disproportionately swing the outcome of a
- 9:51Speaker 1: playoff series or a season, usually because they have the
- 9:53Speaker 1: talent to change games, but also some uncertainty. And they're
- 9:56Speaker 1: basically saying that both of your answers apply. But generally
- 10:01Speaker 1: in sports it's used as more of a name that
- 10:03Speaker 1: you didn't expect, more of a mid tier name to
- 10:06Speaker 1: break out and be the difference maker. But that's not
- 10:08Speaker 1: what the definition is. But that's how sports has accepted it.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Okay, then I'll take another name, and I'll give you
- 10:14Speaker 2: Parker Meadows one.
- 10:16Speaker 1: We'll take it. Okay, give me someone that's.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Not about two pitches.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Someone that's not on the patient up there at the plate.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Can we make this series about another team? Who else?
- 10:30Speaker 2: Do you have? Give me ANX yours?
- 10:33Speaker 1: I have to go, well, yeah, uh, Tyler Heyneman is
- 10:38Speaker 1: that he is joining us in two minutes. I think
- 10:44Speaker 1: that he's an X factor. I think the Blue Jays
- 10:46Speaker 1: need to show up with some pop. The catcher position
- 10:48Speaker 1: has been a strength for them with Tyler and with
- 10:51Speaker 1: Alejandro Kirk that's a good X factor.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Right, that's yes, I agree? And will he get some
- 10:59Speaker 2: at bats.
- 10:59Speaker 1: For Let me put this out there. The Blue Jays
- 11:02Speaker 1: tried for Otani. I don't care. They tried for Soda,
- 11:05Speaker 1: they tried for Rokie. They didn't get any of them.
- 11:07Speaker 1: They did their own offseason this year where they got
- 11:09Speaker 1: Santander that's been a bust for the year. Surezer was
- 11:13Speaker 1: out for a good chunk of the year. Jeff Hoffman
- 11:15Speaker 1: was good, not great. A lot of Homer's given up right.
- 11:18Speaker 1: A lot of their moves that they made Amenez hasn't
- 11:20Speaker 1: hit this year, were not great. What they did do
- 11:23Speaker 1: exceptionally well is the depth at the margins. Barger, Heinemann, Ernie, Clement, Lucas.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Those kind of guys are better than a lot of
- 11:35Speaker 1: other teams. You know eighteen nineteen twentieth men who was
- 11:40Speaker 1: the other one you said lower great example that they've
- 11:44Speaker 1: done exceptionally well. Well, we see those guys continue to thrive.
- 11:49Speaker 1: So we get one more, Yes, one more nationally.
- 11:52Speaker 2: He guys can get on me for this, but I'm
- 11:54Speaker 2: gonna go for it anyways.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Pa, that's a star name though I was Scooball not allowed,
- 12:01Speaker 1: but peace.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Jay, I'll accept it. That's a great Much like Hovey Bayas.
- 12:06Speaker 2: If you sense a theme here, PCA's second half was
- 12:09Speaker 2: much like Hobvey Baya is the second half. And they
- 12:11Speaker 2: need Hobvey, they need Hobby and they need PCA and
- 12:15Speaker 2: especially in these shorter series, if they're gonna win to
- 12:17Speaker 2: do something because we don't know another. I mean, we
- 12:19Speaker 2: don't know what we're getting out of Kyle Tucker real
- 12:21Speaker 2: the Cubs, So PCA really has to step it up.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And even if he doesn't hit, he does a lot
- 12:26Speaker 1: of other things. Well, if he gets on base, he's obviously.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Was my X factor.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Haha. All right, Krats, you're gonna do this the whole show. Crats.
- 12:36Speaker 1: One more name and then we gotta get to Tyler Quick.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Brandon Marsh with the Phillies home exact opposite. He's had
- 12:44Speaker 3: an unbelievable since like May fifteenth or whatever. They will platoon,
- 12:50Speaker 3: but maybe not the way that everybody thinks, and he
- 12:54Speaker 3: needs to stay hot.
- 12:55Speaker 2: He needs a continue to stay hot.
- 12:56Speaker 3: And I always feel like guys in the seventh, sixth
- 12:59Speaker 3: to eighth spot in the lineup are key because you're
- 13:02Speaker 3: pitching around everybody else in the lineup and then you
- 13:06Speaker 3: get to that spot and those are the guys that
- 13:08Speaker 3: can swing a series.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Well done. If you think we're off on our X
- 13:13Speaker 1: factor definition, let us know if you're checking this out
- 13:15Speaker 1: in the comments and give us your X factor thumbs
- 13:24Speaker 1: up or thumbs down. Manager moves for you. This one
- 13:27Speaker 1: is thumb sideways, Bruce Bochie and the Rangers mutually agreeing
- 13:32Speaker 1: that he's done managing Texas. That's it. He's been offered
- 13:37Speaker 1: a front office role to remain with the team in
- 13:39Speaker 1: an advisory capacity. He won the World Series with them
- 13:41Speaker 1: his first year, and then the Rangers have missed the
- 13:44Speaker 1: playoffs the last couple of years. I mean, I'm going
- 13:47Speaker 1: to say skip Strumarkers for the rescue. Clearly he was
- 13:50Speaker 1: going over there in anticipation.
- 13:52Speaker 2: This He's been talked about for a while though, Bochie.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Yeah, this year, this year being the last year, Yes, why.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Just because he's seven years old. He already won there.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Just I just think that this was something that people
- 14:07Speaker 2: had thought about for a while, and now he brought
- 14:12Speaker 2: in Skippy Schumacher.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Listen.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I even joked with Bochi about this last time I
- 14:16Speaker 2: did a Rangers game.
- 14:17Speaker 1: What do you say?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Oh? Oh, well, he sits back in his chairs, like, oh,
- 14:22Speaker 2: you know, it's too soon to.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Talk about that. It's like the last week of the year.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I was a month or so to go. But no,
- 14:32Speaker 2: he didn't want to talk about it. But I think
- 14:35Speaker 2: that this is something that had been rumored for a while,
- 14:39Speaker 2: and now it happened, and now it's gonna be interesting
- 14:41Speaker 2: to see if it is Skipp because Skip is there.
- 14:43Speaker 2: He was there, remember kind of everyone said, oh, he's
- 14:46Speaker 2: their manager and waiting for Bochie. Now does Boachie take
- 14:49Speaker 2: the San Francisco job? That's what everyone keeps asking also,
- 14:51Speaker 2: so it's gonna be fascinating to see what old Boach
- 14:54Speaker 2: does or you go home and go fishing.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I'm always curious about this two crats because they said mutual.
- 14:58Speaker 1: But if Boach ends up managing somewhere else like San Francisco,
- 15:01Speaker 1: is it really mutual?
- 15:03Speaker 3: Or maybe his frustration in the last series. I mean,
- 15:06Speaker 3: what did he say in the last series? He was
- 15:07Speaker 3: like I got to see a different level out here.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Maybe he's like, why am I going to keep pushing something?
- 15:13Speaker 3: Because he is seventy that if these guys aren't going
- 15:17Speaker 3: to put the effort out, maybe I don't feel like
- 15:19Speaker 3: I have a voice that can be mutual. He can
- 15:22Speaker 3: also still go to San Francisco.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I know for a.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Fact these teams are already doing interviews today, not just
- 15:29Speaker 3: the Rangers, multiple teams are already doing these interviews. So
- 15:33Speaker 3: this process is gonna happen like that.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Which team will aroocrats manage next year.
- 15:44Speaker 2: The Christopher Doc Pioneers.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Good, we're keeping him. Rocco ball Deli out as Twins manager.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It's all Rocos far No.
- 15:56Speaker 2: This one kind of surprises me.
- 15:57Speaker 1: That's why I'm being circus one kind of surprise.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I don't know what Rocco could have done. They traded
- 16:01Speaker 2: the whole team, literally the whole team. O, how do
- 16:06Speaker 2: you You can't blame the manager for that.
- 16:08Speaker 1: The only thing he could have done, is what there's
- 16:11Speaker 1: one thing he could have done. He could have walked
- 16:13Speaker 1: Joe Polad into a room and said, signed the team
- 16:15Speaker 1: over to me to rescue this.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Minnesota just surprised me because I thought Roco was a
- 16:19Speaker 2: good fit there. Everyone seemed to like Rocco. I know,
- 16:22Speaker 2: talking to Roco, he's always very positive. He's always very upbeat,
- 16:26Speaker 2: no matter how bad the circumstances were. I mean, but
- 16:29Speaker 2: this can't be just from this year. This has to
- 16:31Speaker 2: be from last year when they kind of choked away
- 16:33Speaker 2: the division. I kind of they did, and then now
- 16:37Speaker 2: this year was losing the whole team. But maybe you know,
- 16:39Speaker 2: Roco and Derek Falvey, who's in charge of this, had
- 16:42Speaker 2: differences and opinion on where they should go. So you
- 16:45Speaker 2: see kind of a lot is that there's differences in opinion.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I think last year the scapegoat was fad Levine. In
- 16:50Speaker 1: this year they go with Rocco. This is easy, I
- 16:53Speaker 1: mean to me, partially, this is ownership right. They're not
- 16:56Speaker 1: going to do much in the offseason. The pollads are
- 16:58Speaker 1: trying to sell this. They're just waiting for the CBA
- 17:00Speaker 1: to pass. But for publicity, he's completely lost because he
- 17:04Speaker 1: thinks he's the best person to run the team. So
- 17:06Speaker 1: he's telling people up, we're gonna get a new manager
- 17:08Speaker 1: that'll fix things. You have to do something right. You
- 17:11Speaker 1: can't do zero because they're not gonna do much roster
- 17:14Speaker 1: construction wise. This team is in wait until we sell mode.
- 17:17Speaker 1: So let's blame another person. Last year was bad and
- 17:20Speaker 1: this year it was Roco. I mean, they're probably it's
- 17:23Speaker 1: that short of blaming Manny Margo for going oh for
- 17:26Speaker 1: a billion in twenty twenty four has a bench hitter.
- 17:29Speaker 1: But Eric Kratz, how much of this had to do
- 17:32Speaker 1: with Rocco Baldelli, the Minnesota Twins being crap?
- 17:36Speaker 3: Thanks zero, Good for Roco. Good for Roco that he's got,
- 17:41Speaker 3: he's got an opportunity to go somewhere else. Never good
- 17:43Speaker 3: if somebody gets fired. But this guy, in my opinion,
- 17:47Speaker 3: I think he's a good manager. From players that I
- 17:49Speaker 3: talked to, they absolutely loved playing for him, and I
- 17:53Speaker 3: don't think he did anything wrong. Every trade deadline, Oh
- 17:56Speaker 3: here's your new play. Sorry, we didn't get anybody, so
- 18:00Speaker 3: it's easy for them to go, yeah, it's all your fault.
- 18:03Speaker 3: We didn't give you anybody extra. So whatever you give
- 18:06Speaker 3: get us out of this team, that is a bonus.
- 18:10Speaker 3: So to me, there's some openings and I think he's
- 18:14Speaker 3: going to be interviewing for a few of them.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yep, he'll probably be managing a playoff team next year.
- 18:21Speaker 1: And then lastly, real quick, Carlos Mendoza and Ali Marmol
- 18:24Speaker 1: both are back. In case you were wondering, I think
- 18:27Speaker 1: Marmo was more of the question mark just because Bloom
- 18:29Speaker 1: takes over, but he's going to stick with Oli.
- 18:30Speaker 2: So well, you see what you see having is people
- 18:32Speaker 2: take over like Buster Posey, they give their guy one year, right,
- 18:36Speaker 2: and then they see how we like him. All he's
- 18:38Speaker 2: been a cardinal lifer though, and all he's great, So.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I have a lot of respect for him.
- 18:43Speaker 2: I respect for Carlos Mendozo too. I mean he came
- 18:46Speaker 2: on in the last week of the year when they
- 18:47Speaker 2: were going.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Through it no pitchers. I mean he had to manage
- 18:49Speaker 1: a minor league pitching staff.
- 18:51Speaker 2: And people that say, question is move he had Edwin
- 18:53Speaker 2: Diaz in that must win game in like the fifth
- 18:54Speaker 2: inning on.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Sunday, wouldn't matter. They scored lot, they scored year run.
- 18:59Speaker 2: So people are like, oh, he didn't. It's a pitching staff.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Right away, what day scored zero zero runs? Okay? Aj
- 19:05Speaker 1: our slab pack ripping continues. Now you just ripped a
- 19:09Speaker 1: card that I think you're actually going to keep.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I am, I'm gonna keep it. It's a Ken Griffy
- 19:14Speaker 2: Junior rookie card. The old is the famous upper deck one.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I believe it is. And yeah, heck ya, I'm gonna
- 19:21Speaker 2: keep it because I'm gonna get Griffy to sign it.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I'm gonna ge him to send it to me. What
- 19:24Speaker 2: you can do and I'm gonna get Griffy to sign it,
- 19:26Speaker 2: and it's only gonna make it worth more. So I
- 19:29Speaker 2: am all in on this card. I'm keeping it, and
- 19:31Speaker 2: it is one of the coolest cards with the highest
- 19:34Speaker 2: turtle neck you've ever seen and the gold chain around.
- 19:37Speaker 1: His neck graded nine nineteen eighty nine upper deck. You
- 19:40Speaker 1: get the offer for one seventy nine. It's valued at
- 19:43Speaker 1: around one ninety nine, and you're like, Nah, I'm keeping it,
- 19:46Speaker 1: but if you want it to sell it back instantly,
- 19:47Speaker 1: you can. It's the beauty of Arena Club. AJ is
- 19:50Speaker 1: going to send in and get the physical card sent
- 19:52Speaker 1: to him and you can do the same. Twenty percent
- 19:54Speaker 1: off your first slab pack or card purchase can happen
- 19:57Speaker 1: for you if you go to Arena Club dot com,
- 20:00Speaker 1: slash foul and use the code f O U L on.
- 20:04Speaker 1: One other note from after yesterday's show, Ben Charrington coming
- 20:09Speaker 1: back for a seventh season after six straight losing seasons.
- 20:13Speaker 1: The rebuild continues in Pittsburgh. Noah Hayle's put that out
- 20:17Speaker 1: and the comments were whoa. And also he put out
- 20:20Speaker 1: a story about some players speaking anonymously about how the
- 20:25Speaker 1: team's joke and feels so different to be in that
- 20:28Speaker 1: order versus the rest of them. I actually see what
- 20:32Speaker 1: I do too, but I feel for Skeens Skeans.
- 20:36Speaker 2: What about Connor Griffin, the Minor League.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Player of the Year, He doesn't even know what he's
- 20:39Speaker 1: getting into you. Yeah, here's the thing.
- 20:42Speaker 2: They have some pieces. Brian Rolds is a nice player.
- 20:45Speaker 1: You sound like Bob Nutty.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Pieces.
- 20:47Speaker 1: We have some pieces. Let's bring Ben back again. But like,
- 20:49Speaker 1: come on, you got six years. This is past your
- 20:52Speaker 1: five year plan.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I know, but this is what GM's do. Oh, I
- 20:54Speaker 2: fired the manager. He wasn't doing what I wanted, So
- 20:56Speaker 2: I need five more years.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I was the manager, gotz.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Well, Don Kelly did better.
- 21:03Speaker 3: It wasn't the manager. You can't fire the owner. Sorry,
- 21:07Speaker 3: that's it. And they do have nice pieces. Connor Griffin,
- 21:10Speaker 3: I get it's one year in the minor leagues, but
- 21:13Speaker 3: if you have a franchise cornerstone, I think it is
- 21:18Speaker 3: something you can build on. But the keyword is building
- 21:21Speaker 3: on it. Build on that pitching staff, build on Connor Griffin,
- 21:24Speaker 3: build on Brian Reynolds before you lose Schemes. So basically
- 21:29Speaker 3: they have two years to get this thing done and
- 21:30Speaker 3: then Schemes is gone.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Speaking news, Ron Washington is hoping to get back to
- 21:40Speaker 1: good health and return to the Angels. He will not
- 21:42Speaker 1: have that opportunity, and neither will Raymontgomery, who was the
- 21:46Speaker 1: interim manager. Neither of them returning to the Angels for
- 21:49Speaker 1: twenty twenty six. Sam Blum doing a great job always
- 21:53Speaker 1: reporting on the Angels. No confirmed info yet on perrimination
- 21:56Speaker 1: who is the GM of the team for now, But
- 21:59Speaker 1: the Angels will definitely have a new manager next year.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think the surprise. Remember Ron Washington
- 22:07Speaker 2: had the health problems. That the he had the heart problems.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I believe it was.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean Montgomery was taken over, Precomery took over,
- 22:13Speaker 1: so he was.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Kind of the interim guy. This is not a surprise.
- 22:15Speaker 2: I mean watched his contract was up, I believe, so
- 22:18Speaker 2: I think that this was This was not a surprise.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Now the only question is perriman Asian coming back as
- 22:24Speaker 2: the GM in President of Baseball off. So we'll see.
- 22:26Speaker 2: But I mean, you never know that you know, who
- 22:30Speaker 2: knows what? Anaheim and the Angels.
- 22:31Speaker 1: We have some hot mess teams from the top.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah, they should bring back Film.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I thought he did a nice job given the personnel.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Krat's no surprise here, right that the Angels will continue
- 22:47Speaker 1: to rotate the manager carousel. They should bring back Joe
- 22:50Speaker 1: Madden too. Why not? I thought Joe's Mike Soosha, yep,
- 22:53Speaker 1: Mike Sosia all good managers, but apparently not in Anaheim.
- 22:58Speaker 1: They do not please are Marino?
- 23:01Speaker 3: What is to me if you're a manager and you're like,
- 23:05Speaker 3: let's say it's Skip Schumacher and he's got experience, he's
- 23:08Speaker 3: brought in my question and I don't know if the
- 23:12Speaker 3: prospective managers ever get to ask a question. But he's
- 23:15Speaker 3: in a spot where he's like, oh, I got experience,
- 23:16Speaker 3: I don't have to have this job. What is the
- 23:20Speaker 3: expectation that you have of me as your manager? Do
- 23:24Speaker 3: you expect me to win with the teams that you
- 23:28Speaker 3: not Perrymansian put together? Is your expectation that I am
- 23:34Speaker 3: supposed to be a playoff build a playoff team with
- 23:37Speaker 3: what you were giving me? Because if that's the expectation,
- 23:40Speaker 3: I need more than a two year deal. He keeps
- 23:42Speaker 3: giving out two year deals. I need more than that.
- 23:44Speaker 3: I need more of a runway.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Now.
- 23:47Speaker 3: If it's somebody like like we had go go on
- 23:49Speaker 3: the other day, If it's Ryan Goins and he's like,
- 23:51Speaker 3: I gotta have a managerial job, like I gotta get
- 23:54Speaker 3: my foot wet somehow, then you know what, you don't
- 23:56Speaker 3: really have a choice.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Okay, but I'm going to present the other side.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Here, Bob Melvin. Somebody in the chat said, Bob Melvin,
- 24:03Speaker 2: he hasn't managed it in iim yet. Sure, he's got
- 24:05Speaker 2: to check off every California and West Coast team.
- 24:08Speaker 1: That's true, he's gonna make the tour. But playing off
- 24:11Speaker 1: his point, he said, if you're rying going you don't
- 24:13Speaker 1: have a ton of leverage. You're trying to get into
- 24:14Speaker 1: a manager position.
- 24:15Speaker 2: That's why people take these jobs.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but washing didn't have leverage either because he hadn't
- 24:18Speaker 1: gotten a job in forever, and so he's like, yeah,
- 24:20Speaker 1: I'll do what I gotta do. I'll take a short
- 24:22Speaker 1: term deal just to join the party here and see
- 24:25Speaker 1: if I can catch a little bit of fire. But
- 24:27Speaker 1: it's rough organization to manage it.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Is, but people want that. You gotta look at Look
- 24:32Speaker 2: at Terry Francona, Right, he went to Philly, who didn't
- 24:35Speaker 2: do very well. Okay, but they they saw enough to
- 24:37Speaker 2: hire him in Boston. Right. So a lot of times,
- 24:40Speaker 2: if you look at a lot of managers, their first
- 24:42Speaker 2: chop doesn't work out tremendously. Now, there are there are
- 24:46Speaker 2: times that it does, but more than likely the first
- 24:49Speaker 2: time for a lot of guys, doesn't work out great,
- 24:51Speaker 2: Tony the Russa White Sox fired right, unceremoniously, let go
- 24:55Speaker 2: by Hawk, the Hawker Roo. I mean, there's a lot
- 24:57Speaker 2: of guys you can look at. It didn't work out,
- 24:59Speaker 2: Tremando and it's the second time where they win that
- 25:02Speaker 2: World Series and they make that move.
- 25:03Speaker 1: But who has worked out for the Angels? Yeah, for
- 25:09Speaker 1: the Guardians. But the Guardians are run pretty well. And
- 25:13Speaker 1: I just to be clear, I'm going directly to the
- 25:17Speaker 1: top of the food chain here. This has been an
- 25:20Speaker 1: issue for a long time for the Angels, okay, And
- 25:24Speaker 1: I think there are some nice pieces, There are some
- 25:25Speaker 1: promising pieces. But there are a few organizations that run
- 25:29Speaker 1: very differently from everyone else. And this is one of
- 25:32Speaker 1: those organizations. Right. The Pirates are in this list, The
- 25:35Speaker 1: Rockies are in this list. Do we see a trend, Yes,
- 25:38Speaker 1: it's just not a thing for them for a long
- 25:40Speaker 1: period of time. It sucks. Hopefully someone else comes in
- 25:43Speaker 1: and can help continue to, you know, bring something different
- 25:48Speaker 1: and hopefully turn the tide. But some of it has
- 25:50Speaker 1: to do with personnel, and a lot of it has
- 25:51Speaker 1: to do with how an organization is run. They cut
- 25:54Speaker 1: corners whenever they can. It would be like if you
- 25:57Speaker 1: have a grandfather who's a little crap and he gets
- 26:01Speaker 1: to wake up and run a team. I'm sorry, that
- 26:03Speaker 1: is how it is. If you talk to people within
- 26:05Speaker 1: the organization, It's been like that for a long time.
- 26:07Speaker 2: It happens. But Derek, I'll hire somebody because there's only
- 26:09Speaker 2: thirty of these jobs if people want to jump.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Beautiful setting, nice ballpark, nice young players.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Christian Moore.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm knocking one person here. I'm sorry. Okay, that's
- 26:22Speaker 1: the one constant for a long period of time. Most
- 26:25Speaker 1: of the rest of the Angels organization has a lot
- 26:27Speaker 1: of promise to it. But there's a reason why this
- 26:30Speaker 1: isn't working. And my only point here is there were
- 26:32Speaker 1: plenty of fans very critical of wash Right definitely has
- 26:36Speaker 1: his own style and some of the moves he made
- 26:38Speaker 1: it wouldn't have made a difference. He was trying to
- 26:41Speaker 1: do something different. Wash is different, right, His approach is different.
- 26:45Speaker 1: But I would say Pat murphy'spproach is different too, and
- 26:47Speaker 1: that's working out pretty well for the Brewers, you know
- 26:50Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Like some some Angels fins ah wosh
- 26:52Speaker 1: i gotta get him out. He wasn't the problem. No,
- 26:59Speaker 1: So is there any human being on the planet that
- 27:01Speaker 1: would have led the Angels to the playoffs this year
- 27:04Speaker 1: a manager?
- 27:05Speaker 2: No, you could say that about a lot of teams, right,
- 27:11Speaker 2: Twins by the manager.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Yeah, who's the.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Fall guy inspired their manager mid season? Exactly, Rocky inspired
- 27:18Speaker 2: their manager mid season.
- 27:20Speaker 1: There actually were a lot of changes this year, about
- 27:24Speaker 1: a third in the league. So what's next? Like, what
- 27:30Speaker 1: do you do?
- 27:31Speaker 2: You know what if I'm the Angels, I go find
- 27:32Speaker 2: a young, hot commodity manager that can come in and
- 27:38Speaker 2: I say, I'll give you a five or six year chance.
- 27:41Speaker 2: In five or six I'm just saying for a manager.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I know, sounds crazy. I'm just saying, And you try
- 27:48Speaker 2: to get somebody who you think is the next thing,
- 27:51Speaker 2: whether there's Joe Madden, whether it's whoever you want it
- 27:54Speaker 2: to be, whoever you think that next big thing is.
- 27:57Speaker 2: You go and you say, all right, we're going to
- 27:59Speaker 2: give you a five year on track, in a five
- 28:01Speaker 2: year runway to figure out where to go and what
- 28:04Speaker 2: to do and try to do some different. Hey, we
- 28:06Speaker 2: got these great young players, let's see him all the
- 28:08Speaker 2: way through, right, and we're going to spend money the
- 28:11Speaker 2: right way. But now the question is will already do that?
- 28:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Yeah, this is not a knock on money either. Like
- 28:17Speaker 1: the Angels have spent, they just haven't spent wisely. Sometimes
- 28:21Speaker 1: I feel like the knock on me is, oh, you're
- 28:22Speaker 1: just saying everyone's cheap. I'm not saying the Angels are cheap.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I don't say the Oriels are cheap either. I just
- 28:26Speaker 1: said they spent their money the wrong way. Lardy Morena
- 28:29Speaker 1: will buy that superstar talent, but then he'll get asked
- 28:32Speaker 1: about something really small on the budget that every other
- 28:34Speaker 1: team does, and he'll say, no, that's problem.
- 28:39Speaker 3: The answer is, you got to find somebody that Ardi
- 28:41Speaker 3: Morena will listen to and we'll trust that lifting lifting
- 28:48Speaker 3: weights in a tent for big leaguers for spring training
- 28:51Speaker 3: is probably not setting your team up. And if that's
- 28:53Speaker 3: a little thing that you don't want to change, now
- 28:56Speaker 3: they're changing that. So maybe he listens to Perimonesian. Maybe
- 28:59Speaker 3: the that he has there will start to build something
- 29:03Speaker 3: that can be more the easy, low hanging fruit that
- 29:08Speaker 3: other teams already take care of that they weren't taking
- 29:12Speaker 3: care of. And it was like, oh, well, we need
- 29:14Speaker 3: to do this, So that's the answer. What that answer is,
- 29:18Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Your point is a really good one because I think
- 29:22Speaker 1: about Buster Posey and how he literally can get giants'
- 29:26Speaker 1: ownership to do things that many others can't. So is
- 29:29Speaker 1: there somebody like that for the Angels? Here's the problem.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Some of that has been tried with guys around the organization.
- 29:37Speaker 1: I'll bring up one, but don't quote me too hard here.
- 29:40Speaker 1: I'm going to try to look this stuff up on
- 29:41Speaker 1: the fly. I know there was a situation with Troy
- 29:44Speaker 1: Percival and he was helping out and he was anti analytics,
- 29:48Speaker 1: and you can't do that right where he's knocking certain
- 29:51Speaker 1: things that everyone else is doing, so that ends up
- 29:53Speaker 1: making it worse. Wants Pictures to care more about eyes
- 29:57Speaker 1: than the tablets and the info. Like, you can't go
- 30:01Speaker 1: all out and just say, hey, we're going to go
- 30:02Speaker 1: back to the eighties, right Like, there's got to be
- 30:05Speaker 1: a balance there. There is always that shift, and you
- 30:07Speaker 1: need to be able to say, hey, like we're doing
- 30:09Speaker 1: too much here, But to just say like throw out
- 30:12Speaker 1: all this crap, you can't do that either. So that's
- 30:16Speaker 1: not the right person to be in his ear. You
- 30:18Speaker 1: need somebody that is keeping up with the modern game.
- 30:21Speaker 1: And it doesn't matter what your age is.
- 30:23Speaker 2: He's got to be a new young guy that Yeah,
- 30:26Speaker 2: let him have a little bit of free reign and
- 30:28Speaker 2: let them do some things, try some stuff, because what
- 30:31Speaker 2: they're doing now ain't working.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Who has enough clout to tell the owner I got.
- 30:36Speaker 2: It, Joe Madden didn't have it, Who the heck has it?
- 30:38Speaker 1: That's my question. I'm honestly asking. I'm like pleading with
- 30:43Speaker 1: people watching right now to come up with a name
- 30:46Speaker 1: that you think can help turn things around. And the
- 30:48Speaker 1: only thing to really turn things around is to be
- 30:51Speaker 1: in his ear and say, dude, I got this. You're
- 30:55Speaker 1: not in baseball. You just own a team. You should
- 30:59Speaker 1: not be making decisions like this. Someone said, Erstad, you
- 31:07Speaker 1: need somebody that played and won with the Angels.
- 31:10Speaker 2: What about Salmon?
- 31:10Speaker 1: Were like, he's been around the team a little bit.
- 31:13Speaker 1: But I don't know. I mean, but that would do that.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Why wouldn't Urstad do that?
- 31:19Speaker 2: He lives in Nebraska. You know, he's got kids that
- 31:21Speaker 2: are in high school. He just he cheated the Nebraska
- 31:24Speaker 2: coaching thing for a while. I don't know, maybe he would.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I don't know. I call him and reach out, but
- 31:28Speaker 2: I don't think he would.
- 31:30Speaker 3: He's connected with younger players. It's it's such a it's
- 31:34Speaker 3: such a threaded needle. The guy that you have to
- 31:37Speaker 3: you have to be able to connect with younger players.
- 31:39Speaker 3: You got to be able to have enough big league
- 31:41Speaker 3: clout for Ardie Mourana to be like, oh okay, yeah,
- 31:44Speaker 3: I would. I would listen to something that you have
- 31:47Speaker 3: to say. You have to have some managerial experience. You
- 31:50Speaker 3: have to have something, because clearly he's gone after Joe Madden.
- 31:54Speaker 3: He's gone, after he's gone after Ron Washington, like he's
- 31:59Speaker 3: tried everything in his mind. You gotta you gotta find
- 32:02Speaker 3: somebody that really threads all the needles.
- 32:06Speaker 2: And it's gonna be tough. Good luck, Perryman.
- 32:08Speaker 1: As someone Carrere said, Bruce Bochi've.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Already done that.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Gabe Capler gave Cappler's on here, Benji Molina, Joe Girardi
- 32:24Speaker 1: good good names. I like this exercise.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what he said.
- 32:27Speaker 1: That's what he said.
- 32:30Speaker 2: That's what he said.
- 32:31Speaker 1: That's what he said. Tory Lavello spoke about something that
- 32:39Speaker 1: we know and I think the world should know. I'll
- 32:41Speaker 1: let toy take it away.
- 32:43Speaker 4: I'm I'm the manager of the baseball team once it
- 32:45Speaker 4: hits the dugout. Once it's in the dugout, I can
- 32:47Speaker 4: make baseball decisions when it comes to personnel things, when
- 32:52Speaker 4: it comes to the finer working dynamics inside of rotations
- 32:57Speaker 4: and in lineups.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Yes, I have a.
- 32:59Speaker 4: Seat at the table with their open discussions. The manager's
- 33:02Speaker 4: roles have changed over the past twenty five years, that's
- 33:06Speaker 4: for sure.
- 33:06Speaker 2: I like stability, I like consistency. I like trends and habits.
- 33:10Speaker 4: I believe in the gut instinct, but there are certain
- 33:14Speaker 4: things that change the mood and the mind of what
- 33:17Speaker 4: decision has made. And there's a group of people around
- 33:20Speaker 4: me inside of the baseball day that will help.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Me make good decision.
- 33:24Speaker 4: And there's a group of people that are behind the
- 33:25Speaker 4: scenes that are making a lot of decisions that used
- 33:29Speaker 4: to be made in the traditional baseball manager sense.
- 33:32Speaker 2: And that's fine. I want to make it simple. I
- 33:35Speaker 2: run a baseball game. That's all I need to do every.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Single day, thank you. That's how it works with just
- 33:43Speaker 1: about every team. There's been some I know there's been
- 33:48Speaker 1: some situations where I've heard gms be like, no, no,
- 33:51Speaker 1: I let the manager do whatever he wants. I'm like,
- 33:53Speaker 1: shut up. And I literally went to the manager for
- 33:55Speaker 1: one of those situations and he was like, that's not true.
- 33:57Speaker 1: And he's like, I'm not saying in a bad way,
- 33:59Speaker 1: it's just like that's not true. Like why is he
- 34:00Speaker 1: saying that. He's like, I don't know, it's like some
- 34:02Speaker 1: taboo thing where they can't say that they have a
- 34:04Speaker 1: say in the lineups, like this has been going on
- 34:06Speaker 1: for what ten years now more maybe fifteen. I remember
- 34:09Speaker 1: Bo Porter like didn't he reportedly get into it a
- 34:12Speaker 1: little with lou Now about the lineup the store.
- 34:14Speaker 2: There's a Larry most where he said when he went
- 34:16Speaker 2: interviewed they in Houston, they said to him, we're going
- 34:19Speaker 2: to give you the lineup every day. Are you okay
- 34:21Speaker 2: with it? And Bo was like, this interview's over now.
- 34:22Speaker 2: I don't know if that's true, but that was hearsay
- 34:24Speaker 2: from people. Sounds like sounds like Larry yeah, But I
- 34:28Speaker 2: mean it also sounds like what they did.
- 34:29Speaker 3: So I don't know. I think I think something that
- 34:33Speaker 3: that Tory Levello didn't say in that interview. He's like,
- 34:35Speaker 3: he doesn't just manage, you know, when they're on the field,
- 34:39Speaker 3: you're managing people now. I think we I think the
- 34:42Speaker 3: AJ would agree that the managers nowadays are way different
- 34:48Speaker 3: in how they interact with players and whether that's right
- 34:52Speaker 3: or wrong, or you got to be old school or
- 34:54Speaker 3: you gotta be you know, Lou Panellen pissed off at
- 34:57Speaker 3: every rookie and only lean on the That's like, that's
- 35:01Speaker 3: up for debate. But I think that's one of the
- 35:03Speaker 3: things that tory Leavelo does incredibly well. He manages people.
- 35:08Speaker 3: AJ talked about, Hey, I played for this manager. He
- 35:11Speaker 3: had the lineup for the entire week. I'm gonna play
- 35:15Speaker 3: these four games. I'm gonna have off on Thursday, and
- 35:18Speaker 3: then I'm gonna play Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Like, it's conversations
- 35:22Speaker 3: that are talked with and talked through with the players
- 35:27Speaker 3: so that they know what to expect. And that can't
- 35:31Speaker 3: be that can't be had from the front office. That
- 35:33Speaker 3: has to be the manager's job.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Well, what he said was he played for Sparky Anderson,
- 35:38Speaker 2: and what he said about spark Anderson was the same
- 35:40Speaker 2: way I was when I played for Tom Kelly. Managers
- 35:42Speaker 2: had all the power we over the gym. The managers
- 35:45Speaker 2: would tell the GM basically what they wanted and go
- 35:47Speaker 2: get this player, and the managers would literally tell you
- 35:50Speaker 2: you're bad. You're not You're you're doing bad, You're well,
- 35:53Speaker 2: I don't like you. You're out here. It happened a lot,
- 35:55Speaker 2: So I think that's the way it's changed is everyone
- 35:58Speaker 2: has to be understood and and me says for the
- 36:02Speaker 2: better or worse it it depends on where you are.
- 36:04Speaker 2: But I honestly think that it's just changed and communications
- 36:07Speaker 2: is the key, like Carot's it.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Hope you had fun. Tigers and Guardian's going on right now,
- 36:12Speaker 1: and yes, I know you checked your watch. The Cubs
