- 0:00Speaker 1: Now this is the Mark Simon Show on sevent tenor
- 0:09Speaker 1: a lot of good stuff to get to today, Lots
- 0:12Speaker 1: to talk about. We'll get to President Trump. He's just
- 0:15Speaker 1: done a very lengthy CNBC interview which is driving the
- 0:21Speaker 1: left nuts. We'll get to Oh, I forgot about this
- 0:24Speaker 1: major major shakeup in the Trump administration. Get to that
- 0:28Speaker 1: in a second. We'll get to Iran. The talks will
- 0:31Speaker 1: resume today, Iran confirming they will be there at the
- 0:35Speaker 1: bargaining table. We'll get to Obama and what the hell
- 0:39Speaker 1: is he up to right now? We'll get to mister
- 0:42Speaker 1: met again. We'll get to Hockel, Bruce Blakeman, who should
- 0:46Speaker 1: be the next governor. We'll get to crazy Mom, Donnie,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and a whole lot more. Let me just clear this up.
- 0:52Speaker 1: If you've been watching the news NBCCBSABC, if you're reading
- 0:56Speaker 1: the New York Times, if you're using that crazy fake
- 1:00Speaker 1: news left wing media which is just about everything now,
- 1:04Speaker 1: you would have seen the headline major shakeup in the
- 1:07Speaker 1: Trump administration, A major shakeup. Well, the major shakeup is
- 1:13Speaker 1: what the hell's her name? Uh, resignation of Lori Chavez.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I don't know how you say it, diremer Derimer. I
- 1:22Speaker 1: don't even know her name. This is the major shakeup.
- 1:25Speaker 1: She's actually the labor secretary, which is the one of
- 1:28Speaker 1: the least important cabinet jobs. But she has resigned. And
- 1:34Speaker 1: if this what's today Tuesday. If on Sunday you said
- 1:37Speaker 1: to all of these newspeople, who's Lori's Chavez d Remor,
- 1:41Speaker 1: they would go huh, who huh? Nobody ever heard of her.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Now it's a major shakeup, major shakeup. She uh was
- 1:51Speaker 1: the labor secretary. She got in a lot of trouble.
- 1:54Speaker 1: There was a whistleblower that filed all these complaints, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: it turned out it was true that she was drinking
- 1:58Speaker 1: an office during working hours. According to all of this,
- 2:01Speaker 1: according to the investigation, created a hostile work environment. She
- 2:05Speaker 1: was pursuing an extra marital affair with the security guard.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Well he's labor, I guess. The complaint also said she
- 2:16Speaker 1: committed travel fraud by a lot of the aids, chief
- 2:19Speaker 1: of staff and deputies would make up these official trips
- 2:23Speaker 1: that weren't actually official. There were the destinations where there
- 2:26Speaker 1: were family vacations or just plaining vacations on the taxpayer's dime.
- 2:32Speaker 1: But if you're watching the news, major shakeup. Nobody ever
- 2:36Speaker 1: heard of this woman. The day before, not one of
- 2:38Speaker 1: you newspeople ever said, let's try to get an interview
- 2:42Speaker 1: with Lori Chavez de rim Or. Nobody ever heard of her.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Now you say, well, yeah, but Trump, why would Trump?
- 2:47Speaker 2: Uh?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Well, I looked into that. Where the hell did she
- 2:49Speaker 1: come from? It was actually the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Teamster's president Shaw O'Brien had recommended her to Trump, in fact,
- 2:58Speaker 1: had encouraged Trump to nominate. And it's again, it's not
- 3:02Speaker 1: the biggest cabinet post. You can really put just about
- 3:04Speaker 1: anybody in there. Do you know any labor secretaries that
- 3:08Speaker 1: have stood out? Who's that little guy Robert Reisch? Wasn't
- 3:12Speaker 1: he a labor secretary? Again, it's a job where you
- 3:14Speaker 1: just stick somebody. So forget the major shakeup. Now, Iran
- 3:19Speaker 1: talks will continue today. Iran has confirmed they will send
- 3:25Speaker 1: a delegation. There will be peace talks today. Steve Whitkoff,
- 3:30Speaker 1: Jared Kushner, I think Vice President Vance and our team
- 3:33Speaker 1: are there over there now in Islamabad, Pakistan. You ever
- 3:37Speaker 1: see the life Jared Kushner lives in Miami, lives in
- 3:40Speaker 1: this spectacular mansion Miami, fun and son and glamour and fun.
- 3:46Speaker 1: He's running a massive real estate empire. He's a billionaire.
- 3:50Speaker 1: He's having the time of his Life's got a beautiful one.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Who the hell would want to give all this up
- 3:55Speaker 1: and sit on a plane for twenty hours to get
- 3:57Speaker 1: to Islamabad, Pakistan to sit in the Islama biod Pakistan
- 4:02Speaker 1: hotel ballroom for twelve hours talking to a bunch of
- 4:05Speaker 1: crazy Iranian negotiating. Who would want to do this? But
- 4:09Speaker 1: that's what he enjoys. Some people like pickleball. He likes
- 4:12Speaker 1: this talking to crazy Iranians at a bargaining table. So
- 4:16Speaker 1: the talks will continue today. Iran making all their usual threats,
- 4:20Speaker 1: they have now said they are prepared to reveal new
- 4:25Speaker 1: cards on the battlefield. They have some secret new thing. Well,
- 4:29Speaker 1: so far we took out all their major stuff, all
- 4:33Speaker 1: their real weapons, and now they're down to what they
- 4:35Speaker 1: call these mosquito boats. They're little, tiny speed boats with dynamite.
- 4:39Speaker 1: If a ship is trying to come through the strait,
- 4:42Speaker 1: they'll zoom out from a cave and try to hit
- 4:45Speaker 1: the ship with a bomb. But they're not that effective.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Outside of that, I don't know what they have now
- 4:50Speaker 1: we do know. It turns out, you know, we took
- 4:52Speaker 1: out all their rockets and missile launchers and that sort
- 4:55Speaker 1: of stuff. It turns out that they did bury up
- 5:00Speaker 1: underground long before all this started. They buried a lot
- 5:03Speaker 1: of missile launchers and rockets to have in reserve in
- 5:08Speaker 1: case we blew up everything. They could dig those out.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So they're in the process of digging out those rockets
- 5:14Speaker 1: and missile launchers. Now we watched carefully, as does Israel,
- 5:18Speaker 1: with satellite photos of all this stuff. So I guess
- 5:20Speaker 1: if we see them digging out something, we'll blow up
- 5:22Speaker 1: the spot before they even get it out. We are
- 5:27Speaker 1: blockading the straight of hor Moves, and we did take
- 5:31Speaker 1: out one of There was a tanker that tried to
- 5:34Speaker 1: come through the blockade, and if you watch the way
- 5:37Speaker 1: the US handled it, it was pretty amazing. It was
- 5:41Speaker 1: the Tusca, an Iranian flagged tanker ship, a vessel that
- 5:46Speaker 1: tried to cross the blockade and it went right through it.
- 5:50Speaker 1: We then went after the ship. We hit it with
- 5:54Speaker 1: a missile. The first missile went right through the engine room,
- 5:57Speaker 1: completely disabled the ship completely disabled. Were one shot. Our
- 6:02Speaker 1: helicopters flew right to the ship. US Marines repelled down
- 6:06Speaker 1: under the ship took total control of it immediately. This
- 6:09Speaker 1: all happened in a second, President Trump putting out a
- 6:13Speaker 1: statement saying that right now US Marines have custody of
- 6:16Speaker 1: this vessel. It violated the sanctions US Treasury sanctions, and
- 6:22Speaker 1: because of their prior history of your legal activity, we
- 6:25Speaker 1: have taken full custody of the ship and everything on it.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So I don't think it's going to try crossing that
- 6:30Speaker 1: blockade again. So that'll happen today. The other thing that
- 6:34Speaker 1: will happen today is Kevin Walsh is the nominee for
- 6:37Speaker 1: the new FED chairman, and he's going to have hearings
- 6:40Speaker 1: today and you're going to see all hell break loose
- 6:44Speaker 1: in these hearings. Now, you got to remember Republicans, they're
- 6:48Speaker 1: not very good at hearings. They don't know what to do.
- 6:50Speaker 1: But these Democrats are brilliant in hearings. They know how
- 6:53Speaker 1: to create viral video. They huff and puff and yell
- 6:56Speaker 1: and scream and they carry on. Makes for quite a show.
- 7:00Speaker 1: You'll be seeing this all over the place. The star
- 7:02Speaker 1: will be Elizabeth Warren. She will yell and scream at
- 7:06Speaker 1: Kevin Warres she's a very good guy. He's a quiet guy.
- 7:09Speaker 1: He's perfectly qualified as to be the FED chairman. There
- 7:13Speaker 1: were a bunch of choices. There was Kevin Hassett, and
- 7:16Speaker 1: there was Scott Bessett, but they're needed in the White House,
- 7:19Speaker 1: more valuable in the White House. So it came down
- 7:21Speaker 1: to Kevin Warresh. Who's a great choice. He'll be fine.
- 7:24Speaker 1: They're gonna yell and scream, Elizabeth Warren, you're gonna see
- 7:27Speaker 1: it tonight all over the place. She'll call them all
- 7:29Speaker 1: kinds of names. She's gonna yell and scream about. He's
- 7:32Speaker 1: in the Epstein files. Does nothing bad nothing. Everybody's in
- 7:36Speaker 1: the Epstein files. Elizabeth Warren is mentioned four hundred times
- 7:39Speaker 1: in the Epstein files. Doesn't mean he had anything to
- 7:42Speaker 1: do with Epstein. I'm mentioned six times in the Epstein files.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I have nothing to do with the guy. It happens
- 7:47Speaker 1: all the time, so that'll happen. He's a wealthy guy.
- 7:53Speaker 1: He's worth about one hundred million, married to a wealthy woman,
- 7:56Speaker 1: wealthy family. So she'll yell and scream about that. They'll
- 8:00Speaker 1: argue about FED independence. That must be totally independent. It
- 8:04Speaker 1: doesn't have to be that independent. There is a Republican
- 8:10Speaker 1: Tom Tillis who has vowed to block the nomination. Here's
- 8:13Speaker 1: the problem with all of that. There could be a
- 8:15Speaker 1: deadlock twelve to twelve. His problem is he wants the
- 8:25Speaker 1: federal government to drop the probe against Jerome Powell. The
- 8:28Speaker 1: president in the fighting with Jerome Powell. His administration has
- 8:32Speaker 1: started to investigate Powell. He's probably not a crook. It's
- 8:35Speaker 1: probably not something you need to investigate. But even if
- 8:39Speaker 1: he's not a crook, well maybe he should investigate. What
- 8:41Speaker 1: happened was they built a new fed building. Trump is
- 8:44Speaker 1: an absolute world class expert on this stuff. Looked over
- 8:48Speaker 1: the building, went through it and said, this is about
- 8:50Speaker 1: maybe eight nine hundred million worth of stuff here. They
- 8:53Speaker 1: spent something like three billions, so where'd the other two
- 8:56Speaker 1: billion go? That's worth an investigation. You don't have to
- 8:59Speaker 1: pers investigate Powell, but maybe broaden the investigation out a little.
- 9:04Speaker 1: So we'll keep an eye on that today. You know,
- 9:09Speaker 1: this is hard to believe. Tim Cook took over from
- 9:12Speaker 1: Steve Jobs. Tim Cook has been the chairman of Apple
- 9:15Speaker 1: for I thought a few years. It turns out it's
- 9:19Speaker 1: a lot of years. Tim Cook is now sixty five.
- 9:21Speaker 1: He's reached retirement age. It's hard to believe. Boy, time
- 9:24Speaker 1: really goes by. Tim Cook is stepping down as CEO
- 9:29Speaker 1: September one. He's sixty five already and stepping down. Wow,
- 9:37Speaker 1: So he'll transition to the role of executive chairman. They've
- 9:40Speaker 1: picked the new CEO. It's John Turnus. He's fifty, been
- 9:45Speaker 1: at Apple for like twenty five years, and he's a
- 9:48Speaker 1: real hardware guy. He's very good at the hardware, and
- 9:50Speaker 1: that's really Apple's main business is hardware creating devices. He
- 9:55Speaker 1: was very, very big and crucial on the development of
- 9:58Speaker 1: the iPhone and all of so, and give Tim Cook credit.
- 10:03Speaker 1: When Tim Cook took over as chairman, the company was
- 10:05Speaker 1: worth three hundred and fifty billion. Today it's worth four trillion.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So that's a pretty good run. That's not bad at all. Hey,
- 10:15Speaker 1: you know you got the Swallwell, you got these congressmen,
- 10:20Speaker 1: the sexual harassment, rape charge, all this kind of stuff,
- 10:25Speaker 1: all these kind of shenanigans. There's a Republican two that's
- 10:29Speaker 1: got some problems. So there's a Senate Ethics Committee, which
- 10:34Speaker 1: is basically a fake thing. You know, they always remember
- 10:36Speaker 1: now Franklin got into trouble he was very proud to say,
- 10:39Speaker 1: I've turned it right over to the Senate Ethics Committee.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I want them to investigate. Well, the Senate Ethics Committee,
- 10:44Speaker 1: when they investigate, they'll investigate, but they do nothing about it.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That's why Franken and others love to have it go
- 10:50Speaker 1: to the Senate Ethics Committee because even if they find
- 10:53Speaker 1: all this stuff, all they do is send you a letter.
- 10:56Speaker 1: You just get a letter. It's like a warning. That's
- 10:59Speaker 1: all it is. But there's been a push to have
- 11:02Speaker 1: them release who they've been investigating through the years, who
- 11:06Speaker 1: had a real sexual harassment, rape, all kinds of misconduct,
- 11:10Speaker 1: who had Well they released it it was twenty eight names.
- 11:13Speaker 1: There's twenty eight senators they've had to investigate. I mean
- 11:16Speaker 1: in a lot of bad stuff. Democrats win with fourteen,
- 11:21Speaker 1: Republicans had twelve. I know, you say, wait a minute,
- 11:25Speaker 1: that doesn't add up to twenty eight. Well, some of
- 11:26Speaker 1: them had multiple investigations. Remember I'll see Hastings, Democrat from Florida.
- 11:33Speaker 1: He got investigated a few times a few different incidents
- 11:36Speaker 1: through the years. So pretty bad stuff. Now the Mets
- 11:43Speaker 1: play later today. I think it's tonight seven o'clock. The
- 11:46Speaker 1: Mets are oh and eleven. They've just all lost eleven
- 11:50Speaker 1: games in a row, and some people believe it's the curse.
- 11:56Speaker 1: This mister met It was cute a missus met too,
- 12:01Speaker 1: I think. And they walk around. They were up here
- 12:04Speaker 1: in our hallways and they see you. They wave and
- 12:07Speaker 1: they shake your hand. That's about it. When it was
- 12:09Speaker 1: Mom Donnie, they're hugging him and kissing him. It was
- 12:13Speaker 1: so this went very very viral. Friend Sid Rosenberg started
- 12:17Speaker 1: it and went super viral, and then he put a
- 12:20Speaker 1: curse on It's like the Sid curse, and others put
- 12:24Speaker 1: the curse on him, and it seems to have worked.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Since that day, the Mets have lost eleven in a row.
- 12:30Speaker 1: That's a long streak. That's one of the longest. I
- 12:33Speaker 1: think that's the longest streak in twenty years. And tonight
- 12:36Speaker 1: they play again. Will it be twelve games in a row?
- 12:40Speaker 1: I don't bet it. Will I bet they lose twelve
- 12:41Speaker 1: in a row. You know, they're now the last place, Mets.
- 12:43Speaker 1: They're in the last place. And I don't know what
- 12:46Speaker 1: you do about this. I mean, this would be a
- 12:50Speaker 1: hell of a coincidence. The hugging and kissing Mom Donnie.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Next thing. You know, you lose eleven in a row,
- 12:54Speaker 1: could be twelve in a row. What do you do
- 12:56Speaker 1: about it? I don't know. Maybe have have Curtis come down.
- 13:03Speaker 1: He was the Republican candidate. Have Curtis come down and
- 13:06Speaker 1: hug him. Uh, And then you could I guess you'd
- 13:10Speaker 1: have to have Cuomo to the indivent. Nobody wants to
- 13:12Speaker 1: hug Cuomo and who knows, you know, he gets a
- 13:14Speaker 1: little touchy feely there, missus met You better stay back
- 13:18Speaker 1: a little, but we'll see tonight. Keep an eye on
- 13:21Speaker 1: that game. Hey, Bruce Blakeman has a great new ad out.
- 13:26Speaker 1: It's kind of visual, you got to really see it.
- 13:28Speaker 1: But he's going after Kathy Hokeel and you know, she's
- 13:32Speaker 1: just awful, just terrible. And I'm there'll be a lot
- 13:36Speaker 1: of ads. There's so many things you can get her for.
- 13:38Speaker 1: But one of the first was when it comes to taxes.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I don't think Mom, Donnie or hokel understands anything about
- 13:47Speaker 1: how we tax people or how we collect taxes. You know,
- 13:50Speaker 1: they love to yell and screen tax the billionaires pay
- 13:53Speaker 1: their fair share. I mean, maybe they're just lying, but
- 13:57Speaker 1: I don't think they know. I don't think they've ever
- 13:59Speaker 1: looked at the numbers. These wealthy billionaires pay most of
- 14:02Speaker 1: the tax. They pay way beyond their fair share. You know,
- 14:06Speaker 1: the top one percent pays like forty percent of our taxes.
- 14:11Speaker 1: That's kind of ridiculous. I mean, they basically pay it all.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Without them, you got nothing. They overpay like crazy, and
- 14:18Speaker 1: that's good, and maybe they should they can afford to.
- 14:20Speaker 1: But right now they're overpaying like crazy, and that makes
- 14:23Speaker 1: up for the people who don't pay any tax. But
- 14:25Speaker 1: so Hochel a couple of years ago, was yelling and
- 14:29Speaker 1: screaming for all you billionaires, or you'd Mago, or you
- 14:32Speaker 1: Trump billionaires, get the hell out of New York. Moved
- 14:34Speaker 1: to Florida, go away, don't ever come back. Well a
- 14:38Speaker 1: lot of them did, and we lost a huge amount
- 14:40Speaker 1: of tax revenue. So now she's saying, you know, please
- 14:42Speaker 1: come back. She actually even said, tell your friends to
- 14:45Speaker 1: go to Florida and tell them to come back, get
- 14:47Speaker 1: them back here. So Blakeman has put this together. You
- 14:49Speaker 1: have to watch it. It's up on my Twitter. You
- 14:51Speaker 1: can see it there. It's really visual. You got to
- 14:53Speaker 1: see the cliffs, and it's got music and you got
- 14:55Speaker 1: to see the visuals on it. But it's a great commercial,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and let me see if I can play it. Hang
- 15:02Speaker 1: on a second, it's here somewhere. I'll find it. It's
- 15:04Speaker 1: in my phone. I think this is it, right, Hang on,
- 15:13Speaker 1: you got lent me? No shoot, I stay, you shoot,
- 15:18Speaker 1: I go. You gotta watch the video, great beautiful pictures
- 15:24Speaker 1: and stuff going with it till the end, moving vans.
- 15:29Speaker 3: So you've got to lent me.
- 15:31Speaker 1: No shoot, I stay.
- 15:35Speaker 2: You shoot, I go. They sold this.
- 15:41Speaker 3: First step. Should we go down to Palm Beach, you'll
- 15:43Speaker 3: see who can bring back home because our tax space
- 15:46Speaker 3: has been writing.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It's fine. Yeah, you gotta watch it. It's up on
- 15:49Speaker 1: my Twitter if you want to see it. But pretty
- 15:51Speaker 1: interesting that she's telling people to leave, just leave, get
- 15:54Speaker 1: the hell out of here. She says, move to Florida.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Now it's a year later. They've moved to Florida two
- 15:58Speaker 1: years later, and she's bagging them to come back. I
- 16:01Speaker 1: don't think I don't think mom Donnie has ever looked
- 16:03Speaker 1: at the tax numbers. It sounds good to tax the billionaires,
- 16:08Speaker 1: to go after Trump, tax the billionaires. I don't think
- 16:10Speaker 1: he's ever said that any experts bring in the numbers.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Let me see where we get most of our tax
- 16:15Speaker 1: revenue for. You know, if you ran a restaurant, you
- 16:18Speaker 1: do all these metrics. So who's our biggest customers? Where
- 16:20Speaker 1: are we getting the most revenue from? And you cater
- 16:22Speaker 1: to that crowd, and that's what you're supposed to do
- 16:24Speaker 1: in government. That's what any business would do. You cater
- 16:27Speaker 1: to them and make sure they stay anyway. Hey, well
- 16:30Speaker 1: we'll take some calls in a moment. Eight hundred three
- 16:33Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred
- 16:36Speaker 1: three two one zero seven ten. Get instant access to
- 16:41Speaker 1: Mark by setting a pre set in the iHeartRadio app
- 16:44Speaker 1: for his live show and his podcast. Now back to
- 16:48Speaker 1: the Mark Simone Show on woof Hey, are your allergies
- 16:54Speaker 1: really bad? Like last week? All it's brutal, but a
- 16:57Speaker 1: little better now. It turns out we've had no rain,
- 17:00Speaker 1: very very very little rain for a couple of weeks,
- 17:02Speaker 1: and that's what whatever that stuff is, the pollen, the dandard, whatever,
- 17:05Speaker 1: it's all over the place. So it did rain on Sunday.
- 17:09Speaker 1: When it rains, it kind of calms all that stuff down,
- 17:11Speaker 1: So that helped a little. Now we're having a couple
- 17:14Speaker 1: of dry days. It's going to rain Wednesday or Thursday.
- 17:17Speaker 1: But that'll be good. It'll gets rid of all that
- 17:20Speaker 1: all that pollen. Let's take some calls. It's go to
- 17:23Speaker 1: Duke Sarasota, Florida. Duke, how you doing. I'm living now.
- 17:29Speaker 1: That's a great name, if I if I had to
- 17:30Speaker 1: pick a name, that's a pretty cool name.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Duke.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Is that really your name?
- 17:35Speaker 2: You could borrow it, I mean you could use it,
- 17:37Speaker 2: do it while you're still, you know, breaking into show business.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Duke, I like that tough, cool name.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, there was a congressman about thirteen years ago.
- 17:49Speaker 2: His intern was jogging one morning in Washington, d C.
- 17:53Speaker 2: And uh yeah it.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Content. I forgot his name, Condent? Was it Gary Condent?
- 18:00Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 18:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he was from California. And yeah, I wonder if
- 18:03Speaker 2: they were located the perpetrator of that.
- 18:07Speaker 1: No, I think it was. It was like right the
- 18:12Speaker 1: week before nine to eleven.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Right exactly right, you know, yeah.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Well, because it was the biggest story in America. This
- 18:20Speaker 1: congressman was sleeping with his intern and she vanished and
- 18:24Speaker 1: what did they you know, they found her in the park,
- 18:27Speaker 1: right yeah, yeah, so the biggest scandal ever I think
- 18:32Speaker 1: the guy was innocent. I think he had nothing to
- 18:34Speaker 1: do with killing her. But it was the biggest scandal.
- 18:36Speaker 1: It was front page News twenty four sevens all everybody's talking.
- 18:39Speaker 1: He was It was terrible to say, but he was
- 18:42Speaker 1: very He was so happy about nine to eleven. Because
- 18:44Speaker 1: the second had happened, he was never mentioned again. It
- 18:47Speaker 1: took him right out of the news. I do recall
- 18:49Speaker 1: that if it hadn't been for that, they still would
- 18:51Speaker 1: have been going after Remember the great writer Dominic Dunn,
- 18:56Speaker 1: who was, you know, the big crime guy with the OJ.
- 18:59Speaker 1: He went after Gary Content and he's the one that
- 19:03Speaker 1: really pushed that theory. And then Condent sued Dominic done
- 19:07Speaker 1: and I think there was a massive settlement there. Uh
- 19:10Speaker 1: because Dominic Dunn was on my show all the way around. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:15Speaker 1: Dominic Dunn was always on my show. And then he
- 19:17Speaker 1: started in on Gary Condan. I always had to stop
- 19:19Speaker 1: him and bleep him and tell him, don't you're gonna
- 19:21Speaker 1: get sued again. Stop it. I got to look it up.
- 19:23Speaker 2: See if you say, you do a great show, thank
- 19:26Speaker 2: you for everything, and uh, I listen every day.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Oh you got a radio now, wow, look at you.
- 19:32Speaker 4: No, I.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Bring it from New York. I couldn't fit it in
- 19:39Speaker 2: my my uh my little car to move everything I needed.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Yeah, most people listen, not most, but probably half our
- 19:46Speaker 1: audience listens on the phone. Now just download the iHeart app,
- 19:49Speaker 1: Gary Duke, great call, thanks for calling. Uh yeah, I listened,
- 19:53Speaker 1: to be honest, I listened on the phone all the
- 19:54Speaker 1: time of the radio infect the other day. All sudden
- 19:57Speaker 1: the internet went after there was no signal. I'm listening
- 19:59Speaker 1: to the show. How I'm I was going crack. I
- 20:00Speaker 1: couldn't feel what to do. I said, forgot, I could
- 20:03Speaker 1: just turn the radio on. I got twelve radios. I
- 20:06Speaker 1: got just turn one of them on. Let's go to
- 20:08Speaker 1: Patrick in New York City. Patrick, how you doing.
- 20:12Speaker 4: In Mark? A big story this morning you probably know of.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Alan Dershowitz announced that he's becoming a Republican. He's leaving
- 20:19Speaker 4: the Democratic Party And to quote him, I heard him
- 20:21Speaker 4: interviewed this morning. He said, I'm leaving the party because
- 20:24Speaker 4: it is crazy, as Trump said, and we just cannot
- 20:27Speaker 4: allow the Democrat parton to take control of Congress. Also,
- 20:31Speaker 4: he's become a Yankee fan, leaving the Red Sox. Yeah,
- 20:36Speaker 4: big news.
- 20:36Speaker 1: He's not a huge baseball fan. But he's a great
- 20:38Speaker 1: guy and he should leave. The Democrats were so awful
- 20:42Speaker 1: to him. You know, he wasn't a Trump supporter, he
- 20:45Speaker 1: wasn't a Trump voter. He voted for Obama, he voted
- 20:48Speaker 1: for Biden, he voted for he voted for Hillary. And
- 20:51Speaker 1: then when Trump got impeached the first time, was totally dishonest, corrupt,
- 20:55Speaker 1: unfair impeachment. And he offered to defend him. That's what
- 20:58Speaker 1: a good lawyer does. And so the whole Democratic world
- 21:00Speaker 1: came down on him. They wouldn't talk to him, they
- 21:02Speaker 1: ostracized him. I don't blame him. Well, thanks for exactly exactly,
- 21:06Speaker 1: all right, thanks, Hey, I'm just looking it up here,
- 21:09Speaker 1: Gary kandit. Yeah he's still alive. He's seventy seventy eight
- 21:17Speaker 1: years old. And yeah, he was from California. He was
- 21:21Speaker 1: a congressman that oh I forgot her name. Yeah, it
- 21:23Speaker 1: was Levy, Chandra Levy with the young woman, the intern,
- 21:29Speaker 1: having that affair. So yeah, her death remains unsolved. So
- 21:36Speaker 1: he's having an affair with this young intern. She ends
- 21:40Speaker 1: up dead in the park near his house. Who knows
- 21:42Speaker 1: what happened in Rock Creek Park. She ends up dead,
- 21:46Speaker 1: and they believe now it was an undocumented immigrant illegal
- 21:52Speaker 1: from Al Salvador who had already been convicted of two
- 21:55Speaker 1: other attacks in that park, So it was probably him.
- 21:59Speaker 1: But for a while, boy was this guy. This guy
- 22:02Speaker 1: could not turn on anything, television, radio, newspaper, anything without
- 22:06Speaker 1: seeing his name. That's all anybody talked about. You know,
- 22:10Speaker 1: when you're in that situation, when it's just twenty four
- 22:13Speaker 1: to seven, that all they're doing is talking about you
- 22:15Speaker 1: being a murderer. You just can't make it stop. You
- 22:18Speaker 1: go crazy. It's unbelievable when you're in that kind of
- 22:21Speaker 1: situation and you think, what could ever stop this from?
- 22:26Speaker 1: How do I get this off the air? What can
- 22:27Speaker 1: you do? You talk to crisis consultancy, Well, there's no
- 22:30Speaker 1: way to get it off the air, and then it's unbelievable.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Nine to eleven occurred that next Tuesday morning, and then
- 22:39Speaker 1: he was never mentioned again. He never forgot any mentioned
- 22:42Speaker 1: again ever on the airwaves. It was all forgotten about.
- 22:45Speaker 1: But he's still alive, and that doesn't really say what
- 22:47Speaker 1: he does now. He gets involved in local politics. His
- 22:51Speaker 1: son and daughter wanted to get into politics. Hey I
- 22:55Speaker 1: don't know why, but hey, anyway, so we'll talk to
- 22:58Speaker 1: the brilliant columnist Liz Pek next. Kevin warsh is hopefully
- 23:03Speaker 1: going to be the new FED chairman. I'm sure he
- 23:04Speaker 1: will be, but they're going to put him through hell
- 23:06Speaker 1: today and these hearings. We'll talk about that and more.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Just ahead on seven to ten, Woor.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Talking about everything you care about, Marks the Moons on WR.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Well, Liz Peak, the brilliant columnist. You can read her
- 23:23Speaker 1: at the Fox News and lots of other great places.
- 23:27Speaker 1: But the best thing is go to our website. In fact,
- 23:30Speaker 1: if you go there, get the best news and analysis
- 23:33Speaker 1: and you can sign up for the daily email come
- 23:36Speaker 1: right to you giving you great stories news analysis. Just
- 23:38Speaker 1: go to lizpeak dot com. Lizpeak dot com, make sure
- 23:43Speaker 1: you sign up there. Liz Peak. How you doing well.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I'm terrific and I'm happy to join you. Like everyone else,
- 23:50Speaker 3: I'm on Iran Watch, so you know, minute by minute
- 23:54Speaker 3: mark we're kind of trying to figure out what's going on.
- 23:57Speaker 3: And you know, investors are very optimistic that this all
- 24:02Speaker 3: this war is going to come to a close. Oil
- 24:04Speaker 3: prices are going to come down. I hope that's right.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Well, when we started that blockade, the Strait of Hermus.
- 24:11Speaker 1: It was brilliant because it basically affects Europe and China
- 24:15Speaker 1: and everywhere else. We got plenty of oil. In fact,
- 24:18Speaker 1: we might make money off it because now people have
- 24:20Speaker 1: to start buying from us. We're the biggest oil supplier then.
- 24:23Speaker 1: And in the end, don't you think this will all
- 24:26Speaker 1: work out? In fact, they'll also they'll start building these pipelines,
- 24:28Speaker 1: so we won't depend on that straight anymore. A year
- 24:31Speaker 1: from now, we're going to be very happy with the
- 24:33Speaker 1: way it turned out, aren't we.
- 24:35Speaker 3: I think so.
- 24:36Speaker 4: I mean, I think yes.
- 24:37Speaker 3: I'm optimistic that we'll have a decent peace agreement with Iran.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I'm really tired of going on social media and saying
- 24:47Speaker 3: and seeing people talking about how great the deal was
- 24:51Speaker 3: that Obama struck with Iran, because I actually remember that deal,
- 24:55Speaker 3: and the reason he never submitted it to Congress for
- 24:58Speaker 3: approval is that everyone understood that it was incredibly as
- 25:02Speaker 3: Netanyahu said, it was not something an agreement that would
- 25:07Speaker 3: prohibit the development of a nuclear weapon. It was a
- 25:10Speaker 3: pathway to a nuclear weapon for Iran. And it was true,
- 25:14Speaker 3: you know, the idea that Iran was going to comply
- 25:19Speaker 3: with the requirements of an open inspection and so forth
- 25:23Speaker 3: of their nuclear sites, where repeatedly leading up to that
- 25:28Speaker 3: negotiation they had refused entry to international inspections of their
- 25:34Speaker 3: commercial size, not to mention, they had hidden all their
- 25:38Speaker 3: military nuclear sites from the public. You know, at the
- 25:42Speaker 3: time and the signing of the agreement, nobody even knew
- 25:45Speaker 3: what they were doing in terms of military preparedness for
- 25:48Speaker 3: a nuclear bomb. And you know, recently the reporting by
- 25:52Speaker 3: CBS and others have confirmed they went right ahead creating
- 25:59Speaker 3: enriching uranium. There was never any intention to stop doing that.
- 26:03Speaker 3: So it was just there was basically built in a
- 26:08Speaker 3: sort of tenure moratorium, and then Iran was basically permitted
- 26:11Speaker 3: to get a nuclear weapon.
- 26:12Speaker 2: By the way, this.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Idea that our allies had signed onto it, well, they
- 26:17Speaker 3: did because Germany and France and others had big commercial
- 26:20Speaker 3: interests in Iran, and they had no interest at all
- 26:23Speaker 3: in putting their economies on the line or even dinging
- 26:27Speaker 3: their economies by withdrawing from what was then a pretty
- 26:30Speaker 3: active buyer of their industrial goods. So, I don't know,
- 26:34Speaker 3: revisionism in this case is pretty sickening, honestly, if we
- 26:38Speaker 3: can end up not only removing the enrichment capabilities from
- 26:44Speaker 3: Iran and the enriched uranium, and also determining that they
- 26:50Speaker 3: cannot have such a huge inventory thousands of missiles that
- 26:54Speaker 3: are capable of hitting Europe. And if we somehow can
- 26:58Speaker 3: guarantee that the Strait of Removed will never again be
- 27:01Speaker 3: closed by speedboats with machine guns, that will be an
- 27:04Speaker 3: unbelievable victory. Mark, and I don't think it's impossible.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Yeah, there's also another thing, you know, we were always
- 27:10Speaker 1: terrified of. We're so afraid of Iran, you know, well,
- 27:13Speaker 1: you can never tangle with them. Even during the Iraq Wars,
- 27:16Speaker 1: the thought of getting Iran involved, that was a frightening
- 27:19Speaker 1: trying to tangle this. Yeah, well, now that we've gone
- 27:21Speaker 1: after them all out war, we see they've got nothing.
- 27:24Speaker 1: They're just totally ineffective against us. And I think kind
- 27:29Speaker 1: of we learned the same thing about this Russian army
- 27:31Speaker 1: watching Ukraine hold them off for five years. So the
- 27:35Speaker 1: psychological effect isn't that great to really change things for us?
- 27:39Speaker 3: Well, And I would say the flip side of that
- 27:42Speaker 3: is that the United States military, over several activities in
- 27:47Speaker 3: the last couple of years, has proved themselves probably way
- 27:50Speaker 3: beyond expectation. I mean, if the Chinese were not alarmed
- 27:55Speaker 3: by the ability of the US military to go into
- 27:59Speaker 3: Venezuela and snatch Maduro from a very heavily armed fortress
- 28:05Speaker 3: basically without any problem whatsoever, if they were not concerned
- 28:11Speaker 3: about the combined forces of the US and Israel taking
- 28:16Speaker 3: out the nuclear sites in Iran a year ago, they
- 28:20Speaker 3: sure heck have to be pretty terrified to see the
- 28:25Speaker 3: utter obliteration of Iran's military capabilities in the Latin what
- 28:32Speaker 3: forty days. I mean, it's an unbelievable achievement. And I
- 28:36Speaker 3: would think President she who, by the way, finally piped
- 28:39Speaker 3: up yesterday and said enough, let's open the Strait of Hormuz,
- 28:42Speaker 3: thank you? Yes, where's he been? I think he's got
- 28:45Speaker 3: to be reassessing whatever he thought about American willingness to
- 28:49Speaker 3: go into Taiwan. Now he knows if we do decide
- 28:53Speaker 3: to counter some aggressive aggression on his part, boyle boy,
- 28:59Speaker 3: can we do it?
- 29:00Speaker 1: Liz Peak today is officially beat up Kevin warsh Day
- 29:04Speaker 1: in Washington. Yeah, sure, he's I think a good choice
- 29:08Speaker 1: for the FED chairman. I think you'd agree. And what
- 29:11Speaker 1: should he do to get through these hearings today.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Just keep his mouth shut and just don't rise to
- 29:16Speaker 3: the bait with Elizabeth Warren hectoring him about being Trump's puppet,
- 29:21Speaker 3: et cetera, as she did in the last couple of days,
- 29:24Speaker 3: just to let it roll off his back. He knows
- 29:26Speaker 3: who he is. He knows and they know. The Democrats
- 29:30Speaker 3: on the committee know that he has a long fine
- 29:32Speaker 3: reputation as an inflation hawk. What does he want to do.
- 29:36Speaker 3: He wants to bring in the rain in the balance
- 29:40Speaker 3: sheet of the FED. That's obviously hawkish, not dubbish. We'll
- 29:44Speaker 3: see what happens here. I think President Trump did a
- 29:48Speaker 3: foolish thing and going after J. Powell legally, and now
- 29:52Speaker 3: Tom Tillis is refusing to vote for Kevin Worsh until
- 29:56Speaker 3: that issue is resolved. Trump should resolve it and back way.
- 30:00Speaker 3: That's just a foolish undertaking. But I think Kevin Worsh
- 30:03Speaker 3: will be a good a good change agent at the FED.
- 30:08Speaker 3: He's not such interest in interest rates. Obviously, he wants
- 30:11Speaker 3: to reform the FED. He wants to reform how we
- 30:14Speaker 3: go about their business, what kind of approach they take
- 30:16Speaker 3: to monetary policy. You know, he has sort of revived
- 30:21Speaker 3: the idea of setting rules in place for sort of
- 30:24Speaker 3: automatic adjustments in our interest rate policy based on not
- 30:29Speaker 3: the winds of the chair or the members of the board,
- 30:32Speaker 3: but actual, you know, data, sort of rule associated with
- 30:39Speaker 3: the growth of the economy. In other words, put in
- 30:41Speaker 3: place measures that will get away from the sort of
- 30:45Speaker 3: stop start behavior and often wrong footed behavior of fed's
- 30:50Speaker 3: chairs and bodies over the last thirty years. I remember
- 30:54Speaker 3: going to an Economic Club meeting years and years ago
- 30:57Speaker 3: and Henry Paulson stood up and said, the Fed's been
- 30:59Speaker 3: wrong for thirty five five years. And I kind of
- 31:01Speaker 3: thought at the time, God, can that really be true?
- 31:03Speaker 3: And then I went back and looked for a lot.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Of the history.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Guess what it's true.
- 31:07Speaker 3: So if something needs to change, and I think Kevin
- 31:10Speaker 3: Worris could be a very very bright light in terms
- 31:13Speaker 3: of exposing the inadequacy of the FED, the wrong the
- 31:18Speaker 3: fact that they're chasing rainbows and DEI and climate issues
- 31:22Speaker 3: as opposed to really kind of paying attention to what
- 31:24Speaker 3: they need to watch.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Hey, as far as that investigation, what I would do,
- 31:29Speaker 1: take your own pals name out of it, Just take
- 31:31Speaker 1: his name off. That the new FED building should have
- 31:34Speaker 1: been about eight hundred nine hundred million. They spent like
- 31:36Speaker 1: two three billion just run an investigation into the project.
- 31:39Speaker 1: It's because it would be a good start to go
- 31:41Speaker 1: and after government waste, what happened to the extra two billion.
- 31:45Speaker 3: I agree with you. I think that's a really good idea,
- 31:48Speaker 3: and because it is kind of a classic example of
- 31:53Speaker 3: a government project just getting out of control. And my
- 31:56Speaker 3: guess is no oversight. I mean, you know, Mark, when
- 31:59Speaker 3: I drove to Kennedy Airport last week, there's a construction
- 32:03Speaker 3: project along that road. It's been underway for at least
- 32:06Speaker 3: twelve years. I talked to my driver about it. Twelve years,
- 32:09Speaker 3: and I'm sure it has cost a fortune. Who's watching it,
- 32:12Speaker 3: who's taking care of the taxpayer interest? Here? Not to
- 32:15Speaker 3: mention the tens of thousands of poor schlumps who drive.
- 32:19Speaker 4: That road every day on their way to work.
- 32:21Speaker 2: It's a horror show.
- 32:23Speaker 3: And the same thing with the FED building. You know,
- 32:25Speaker 3: Americans are far too patient. We put up with far
- 32:28Speaker 3: too much and do not demand accountability. If there's one
- 32:32Speaker 3: thing that Trump could bring in the next three years
- 32:35Speaker 3: of his administration and leave is a sense of accountability,
- 32:39Speaker 3: I gotta say I love what they're doing about going
- 32:42Speaker 3: after waste and fraud. It should have been done years ago.
- 32:45Speaker 3: But you know, let's turn a spotlight on places where
- 32:49Speaker 3: people are really stealing government money or just wasting it,
- 32:52Speaker 3: because that's my money, and it's your money, it's everybody's money,
- 32:56Speaker 3: and it should be it should be a matter of
- 32:58Speaker 3: greater focus.
- 33:00Speaker 1: You know, Andrew Cuomo loves to brag about that new
- 33:02Speaker 1: LaGuardia terminal. It costs twenty billion. Everybody says it's a
- 33:06Speaker 1: one billion dollar terminal. We'd spend an extra nineteen billion
- 33:09Speaker 1: on it. But you're right, investigate all this stuff.
- 33:13Speaker 3: If you remember, Mark, when President Trump started running for
- 33:17Speaker 3: office back in fifteen or whatever, he talked about I
- 33:20Speaker 3: think it was the embassy in Israel or the embassy
- 33:23Speaker 3: in London. I forget which one where they were going
- 33:26Speaker 3: to spend you know, hundreds of millions of dollars. And
- 33:31Speaker 3: he said, you know, I went in and there was
- 33:32Speaker 3: a building and we kind of figured out what we
- 33:34Speaker 3: could do, and it was, I don't know, it was
- 33:35Speaker 3: like a fraction of what his predecessor had wanted to spend.
- 33:40Speaker 3: That's the kind of common sense language that Americans are very,
- 33:45Speaker 3: very happy to hear. Because we do not hear it
- 33:48Speaker 3: nearly enough.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Liz Peak, great work. As always, everybody, go

- 34:31Speaker 1: funny show. Everybody loves this show. Just listen once and

- 34:50Speaker 1: I hate to say it, but I may be leaving.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I've just been offered a very big job. I just
- 34:56Speaker 1: got this text. I don't even recognize the number. I
- 35:00Speaker 1: got a text. Good morning. I am Jennifer from Robert Half,
- 35:04Speaker 1: there is a career prospect available that matches your background.
- 35:09Speaker 1: May I share the compensation details text? Okay, if you
- 35:13Speaker 1: would like to see it.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Now.
- 35:16Speaker 1: There are people that fall for these things, these stupid
- 35:19Speaker 1: spam things. Sounds crazy, but some people fall for this stuff.
- 35:25Speaker 1: They don't know any better. They never said this as well.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Wait a minute, I don't think this is how they
- 35:29Speaker 1: hire people. They don't even seem to know my name,
- 35:33Speaker 1: sending anonymous texts. I don't know. That's not sorry, I
- 35:38Speaker 1: just sneeze. That's not usually the way it's done. But
- 35:42Speaker 1: those allergies. But I guess, I guess some people. I mean,
- 35:46Speaker 1: if they send us to a million people and only
- 35:49Speaker 1: four hundred fall for it, all, that's enough to make
- 35:52Speaker 1: some money off of it. I guess. Hey, lots of
- 35:55Speaker 1: stuff going on. Boston Marathon was yesterday. You know, you
- 35:58Speaker 1: got the New York Marathon. We're the biggest city, and
- 36:01Speaker 1: they got the London Tokyo. But there's it was always
- 36:05Speaker 1: considered the first and greatest marathon. The Boston Marathon winner yesterday.
- 36:08Speaker 5: Bing Wah is the word for champion in Swahily John
- 36:14Speaker 5: career Chuah one fifty two big Wah Boston Marathon champion
- 36:22Speaker 5: in twenty twenty six, back to back for John career.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Right, yeah, it's swah Healy. It's there's no such thing
- 36:30Speaker 1: as an American. Remember they used to have Americans who
- 36:31Speaker 1: could run impossible. Now if you went to Africa and
- 36:36Speaker 1: Kenya and they have a marathon, is it all Americans
- 36:39Speaker 1: winning over there? I don't think it works both ways. Yeah,
