- 0:28Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:32Speaker 1: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 0:35Speaker 1: Trey Trentholm and Raj Sharma on our special Super Bowl
- 0:40Speaker 1: fifty nine episode Inside the Treehouse. Thanks for hanging out
- 0:46Speaker 1: with us today after you listen to this or you
- 0:48Speaker 1: may have actually already listened to this episode or see
- 0:52Speaker 1: the Monday episode. Yeah, make sure you listen to today's show,
- 0:55Speaker 1: the Monday episode regular episode right now super Bowl Special.
- 1:03Speaker 1: In one word, how would you guys describe the entirety
- 1:08Speaker 1: of the Super Bowl? All of it, the whole thing.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Let's start with you, whether you games, commercials, halftime show,
- 1:20Speaker 1: pre game fun.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I had a good time. I had a great time watching.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It was with a buddy mine. I set up with
- 1:25Speaker 2: Chili's and it's in case he is and some chips
- 1:29Speaker 2: and salsa and watch the game. It was fun all around,
- 1:32Speaker 2: all right.
- 1:32Speaker 1: So Roger is going with fun. Try what about you beating?
- 1:39Speaker 1: You know, if I had to choose between the two
- 1:41Speaker 1: words you guys used, I'm gonna go with Trey's word.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'm kind of with you.
- 1:45Speaker 3: With beating and not even like it was a beating
- 1:49Speaker 3: to watch it was watching a beating, both the halftime
- 1:54Speaker 3: and the game.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I believe a beating works for just about every aspect
- 2:01Speaker 1: of everything. I saw the pregame show that was a beating.
- 2:09Speaker 1: The game itself was clearly a beating. Halftime show a
- 2:13Speaker 1: bit of a beating, A bit I'm down playing that.
- 2:19Speaker 1: We'll get into the halftime show, the Kendrick Lamar here
- 2:21Speaker 1: just a bit, and then and then postgame. Actually that
- 2:26Speaker 1: wasn't a beating because I was in bed. I was
- 2:27Speaker 1: asleep by the time postgame happened. So I enjoyed the
- 2:30Speaker 1: post game. But I would say a beating is probably
- 2:34Speaker 1: the word I'd go with on this. Let's start with pregame.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Did you guys watch any of the lead up to
- 2:40Speaker 1: the game?
- 2:42Speaker 2: I did not, Okay, I watch probably a little bit
- 2:50Speaker 2: of the last hour.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Did you see the tribute that Fox did on the
- 3:00Speaker 1: pregame for New Orleans kind of coupled with.
- 3:04Speaker 3: The one with Brady and Michael Strahan and everything in
- 3:07Speaker 3: the streets and everyone.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, I did.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Just mirror.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Did Tom Brady look really awkward wearing a T shirt?
- 3:19Speaker 2: He?
- 3:22Speaker 3: Yeah, he looked, but he was in a different T shirt.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Than everyone else.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah, he was wearing the LA Fire Department T shirt,
- 3:29Speaker 1: and then you had Michael Strahan wearing a NOLA Strong
- 3:32Speaker 1: and most of the other people were wearing New Orleans Strong,
- 3:34Speaker 1: you know, with the terrorist attack from a couple of
- 3:36Speaker 1: weeks ago, and I don't know, just Brady wearing the
- 3:40Speaker 1: T shirt just looked awkward. But the one thing that
- 3:43Speaker 1: Brady definitely got garnered a lot of attention for during
- 3:46Speaker 1: the game was his time piece, a seven hundred and
- 3:52Speaker 1: forty thousand dollars Jacob Something watch Jacob that was super
- 3:59Speaker 1: blingy on his wrist during the games, more than most
- 4:05Speaker 1: people's houses. That he was just you know, occasionally checking
- 4:08Speaker 1: the time on what'd you say, RAJ about it?
- 4:10Speaker 2: Jacob and son Jacob Jewel out of New York used
- 4:16Speaker 2: to do a lot of the big like boxers and
- 4:19Speaker 2: hip hop guys in NFL guys, And I never paid
- 4:23Speaker 2: Brady to be one of those guys that's like flashy,
- 4:26Speaker 2: but I'm like, you know what, all that money and
- 4:30Speaker 2: and Giselle just had a baby with some Kravmagov instructor,
- 4:33Speaker 2: you know what. Spend a little on yourself, but.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Treat yourself, buddy, you know, a new watch would be
- 4:40Speaker 1: nice to go with the new face.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that face is weird, that's the that was the uncomfortable.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I didn't think he looked awkward and t shirt. I
- 4:47Speaker 2: was like, his face doesn't go with his body.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Well, it's especially weird when when they show Brady in
- 4:55Speaker 1: the booth and then they cut to his first Super
- 4:57Speaker 1: Bowl win when you see his original face, you know,
- 5:00Speaker 1: and he's you know, he's putting his hands to his
- 5:02Speaker 1: head after they won, like, oh my god, I can't
- 5:03Speaker 1: believe we won. Just imagine how surprised you're going to
- 5:06Speaker 1: be in like twenty years, young Tom when you see
- 5:08Speaker 1: the you know, like the face you're going to have.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And and I don't think he does any like plastic
- 5:14Speaker 2: surgery per se. It's just his diet is super weird. No,
- 5:17Speaker 2: that's plastic surgery.
- 5:18Speaker 3: That's I'm with ros. I don't think that's plastic surgery.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I think I think he is just taken. Honestly, I
- 5:25Speaker 3: think he's taken the diet a little too far, too far. Yeah,
- 5:28Speaker 3: and he needs to put on about five pounds, yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Five ten pounds easy, Like he he said that he's.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Just been restructured. You can like he's got the lines.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Now, yeah, that's no. He has no fat. He has
- 5:42Speaker 2: no fat. He's zero per like, he's almost zero body fat.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Like he doesn't eat any anything that's like red, orange, yellow,
- 5:52Speaker 2: want to eat strawberries. Like he's his cheap meal. He's
- 5:56Speaker 2: admitted to this. His cheap meal is one chicken wing.
- 6:01Speaker 2: That's his cheap meal is He's like, when I splurge,
- 6:04Speaker 2: I'll have a chicken wing on Sunday. And they're like
- 6:07Speaker 2: like a basket of chicken wings. He's like, no, just one,
- 6:11Speaker 2: and that's that's what he cheats on. So I mean,
- 6:13Speaker 2: you have to imagine what he consumes. He still wants
- 6:17Speaker 2: to play football. Like people see him in the booth
- 6:19Speaker 2: and they're like, how exciting is this? And he does great.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Now he started off a little rocky, but you can
- 6:25Speaker 2: tell he's like, I got another two years left.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I think. I think I think most professional athletes will
- 6:31Speaker 1: always feel that way.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think the only thing he's really had
- 6:35Speaker 3: work done is his hairline.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Yeah that looked weird too, like he might have had
- 6:40Speaker 2: some like a little uh hair transplant. Mm hm. That's
- 6:48Speaker 2: the place to go parent. But yeah, I mean I thought, yeah, no,
- 6:53Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, I just thought he uh,
- 6:56Speaker 2: like Troy said, I was like, that's not work, that's
- 6:58Speaker 2: just his diet has gone way too far, and he
- 7:01Speaker 2: I don't think he sees it.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I think his faces had work. But just do yourself
- 7:09Speaker 1: a favorite Google a side by side photo of you know,
- 7:12Speaker 1: young Tom versus last night Tom.
- 7:16Speaker 3: I think maybe there's been some HGH in the mix,
- 7:20Speaker 3: But uh, I said, I don't think he's had work.
- 7:27Speaker 2: You want him to have had work, Like, is that
- 7:29Speaker 2: what it is?
- 7:29Speaker 1: To me, it's so obvious that he's had work, like
- 7:32Speaker 1: his his cheeks like he's got like some fillers. And
- 7:34Speaker 1: to me, it just looks like he's had work done.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I mean I've I've seen enough Kardashian faces over the
- 7:39Speaker 1: years that I can see the transformation. It's like, come on,
- 7:43Speaker 1: I will.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Just say, like he just looked his face looked dehydrated
- 7:47Speaker 2: and emaciated. That's what he looks like to me, Like
- 7:49Speaker 2: it doesn't look I mean, he's super healthy. I mean
- 7:52Speaker 2: I get it, like he's super super clean and everything's
- 7:56Speaker 2: organic and he's super healthy. But it's you can take
- 7:59Speaker 2: that too far. And I've seen it, especially in La
- 8:02Speaker 2: I've seen like actresses and actors that are rehearsing for
- 8:05Speaker 2: a role. Uh and and and getting in shape, and
- 8:09Speaker 2: it just goes too far.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I would say, now, this is just my perspective.
- 8:13Speaker 1: If if your idea of a cheat meal is one
- 8:15Speaker 1: chicken wing, that's that's a bit extreme. But if it
- 8:18Speaker 1: makes you happy, then all right, I.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Say, I say, exactly what he reminds me of when
- 8:23Speaker 3: Matthew McConaughey played I cannot think the Dallas Spires.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Yes, when you got that, that was gonna say the
- 8:29Speaker 2: same thing that That's.
- 8:30Speaker 3: What Tom Brady reminds me of, is how Thinn McConaughey
- 8:33Speaker 3: got for that role for Dallas Spiers Club.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say the exact same thing,
- 8:38Speaker 2: that's what he reminded me of. And then I and
- 8:40Speaker 2: then I was going to bring up the fact that, like,
- 8:42Speaker 2: how great was Matthew McConaughey's did cut the good.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Let's use that as the segue into the commercials, because
- 8:50Speaker 1: obviously there's not a whole lot to cover in the game.
- 8:52Speaker 1: We'll talk about that in a minute. Let's talk about
- 8:55Speaker 1: the commercials. According to USA Today's ad Meter, the number
- 8:58Speaker 1: one spot according to people who were voting on it
- 9:01Speaker 1: was the Budweiser Clydesdale returned to the Super Bowl with
- 9:05Speaker 1: their first delivery. That's the title of the commercial where
- 9:08Speaker 1: the young Clydesdale said, no, you're too young, little guy,
- 9:11Speaker 1: and the one barrel of one keg of beer falls off,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and then he takes it into town on his first
- 9:18Speaker 1: delivery and it was super sweet and adorable. And that
- 9:20Speaker 1: was your number one spot out of the super Bowl.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Favorite spot last night, Tray.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I can't even think of the brand, but it was
- 9:29Speaker 3: Eugene Levy's eyebrows Little Caesars.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that was one of my early favorites. And then
- 9:36Speaker 1: the Pringles commercial came a little bit later and had
- 9:39Speaker 1: a similar ad, but with mustaches instead of eyebrows. And
- 9:44Speaker 1: I couldn't help but wonder It's like, what, what's with
- 9:46Speaker 1: all the flying facial hair spots in the Super Bowl? Yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but Eugene Levy's eyebrows flying around that was really funny.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I thought that the bud Like commercial was a door
- 9:59Speaker 2: line I missed for years. I've always like, I've always
- 10:02Speaker 2: enjoyed the Clydesdale commercials and and that's Budweiser.
- 10:06Speaker 1: But bud Light had their own separate ad was with
- 10:08Speaker 1: post Malone, Kayton Manning and Shane Gillis.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yes, but I like them. McConaughey one, I don't Again,
- 10:17Speaker 2: I don't even know what brand that was, what what
- 10:19Speaker 2: brand was that? But that was good. And then when
- 10:21Speaker 2: Harry met Sally met Ryan, Billy Crystal.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Reboots speaking of plastic surgery phases.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 1: So according to USA Today's ad Meter, the number one
- 10:32Speaker 1: spot was first delivery from Budweiser. Number two was Laced
- 10:35Speaker 1: Potato Chips, The Little Farmer, the Little Girl that had
- 10:37Speaker 1: the one potato hm HM Number three uh michelob ultras spot,
- 10:43Speaker 1: The Ultra Hustle with Catherine O'Hara and Willem Dafoe playing
- 10:51Speaker 1: hustling people at pickleball. The I didn't see this one
- 10:54Speaker 1: during the game, but I saw it today. The Stellar
- 10:58Speaker 1: the Stella Artois commercial with David Beckham and lost twin.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Brother met David.
- 11:06Speaker 1: That was followed by the NFL Someday spot that was
- 11:10Speaker 1: sort of like the uplifting spot. That's where they the
- 11:12Speaker 1: NFL show that they fifty thousand community children's charities something,
- 11:17Speaker 1: followed by NFL Flag fifty The Girls like Football Thing,
- 11:21Speaker 1: then number seven bud Light, Big Men on cul de Sac,
- 11:25Speaker 1: the Uber Eats Century of Cravings. That was where he
- 11:27Speaker 1: had all the different Super Bowl commercials from years past
- 11:30Speaker 1: and one including the Puppy Monkey Baby making the reappearance.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Number nine was the Hellman's Mayo when Sally met Helman's
- 11:40Speaker 1: Pfizer's Knockout Cancer spot rounds out the top ten, close
- 11:45Speaker 1: to the some of my other favorites. The jeep commercial
- 11:51Speaker 1: with Harrison Ford. I love that that came in number
- 11:53Speaker 1: twelve according to USA Today, especially when he said I
- 11:57Speaker 1: love this Jeep even though my last name's Ford. And
- 12:00Speaker 1: I also really loved the Ram Trucks commercial with Glenn
- 12:04Speaker 1: Powell now branded. I saw a longer version of that
- 12:08Speaker 1: on social media earlier in the day as opposed to
- 12:11Speaker 1: the one that aired during the game. I still like
- 12:13Speaker 1: the one during the game. And then a case of
- 12:16Speaker 1: the Mondays from cores Light. I thought that I thought
- 12:18Speaker 1: that was pretty clever.
- 12:20Speaker 2: And some of them.
- 12:21Speaker 3: My biggest problem is the ones I enjoyed most were
- 12:24Speaker 3: the ones I hadn't seen yet on social media. If
- 12:27Speaker 3: there's one thing I wish we could go back to
- 12:30Speaker 3: is no matter the game, how bad, or good the
- 12:34Speaker 3: game is the fact that you watched the Super Bowl
- 12:37Speaker 3: because you wanted to see the commercials. Yeah, and now
- 12:40Speaker 3: that they release them ahead of time, it really takes
- 12:42Speaker 3: some of the magic away.
- 12:43Speaker 1: It takes some of the magic away, and it takes
- 12:45Speaker 1: some of the punch away from the spots during the game.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Although I didn't see this one before on social media
- 12:53Speaker 1: in lead up to the game, but the tick pic
- 12:56Speaker 1: commercial I think was my favorite, and that didn't even
- 12:59Speaker 1: make usay today because I don't know if that commercial
- 13:01Speaker 1: was during the game. I saw it before the game.
- 13:04Speaker 1: That was where he had the three ladies on the
- 13:06Speaker 1: golf course and the old lady's holding her phone up
- 13:08Speaker 1: to her friend going oh, I got a new boyfriend,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and the lady t enough goes so what is this.
- 13:12Speaker 1: She's like, Oh, my boyfriend sent me a tick pick
- 13:14Speaker 1: and she's like, what did you say?
- 13:18Speaker 2: I think they do it, and this is just my
- 13:20Speaker 2: theory is to generate like views on social media, which
- 13:25Speaker 2: also makes them money because you want to offset a
- 13:28Speaker 2: little of that eight million dollars thirty second ad cost.
- 13:32Speaker 1: And I'm with Tray, I think you can still get
- 13:34Speaker 1: it if you if you wait to release the spot
- 13:41Speaker 1: until after it's aired, because I think you can still
- 13:45Speaker 1: get that the day after. You can still get all
- 13:47Speaker 1: those social views and things like that the day after.
- 13:50Speaker 3: If it's good, that there there, And I like, if
- 13:53Speaker 3: it's good, yes.
- 13:55Speaker 1: But let's speaking of that, so if it's good. So
- 13:58Speaker 1: what was your least favorite minds least favorite super Bowl spot?
- 14:05Speaker 2: M hmm.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Mine was the two be fleshy cowboy hat guy or
- 14:11Speaker 1: fleshy cowboy hat head guy that was just oh wait, no,
- 14:16Speaker 1: there was. I forgot the one with the disembodied tongue
- 14:20Speaker 1: that freaked me out.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Okay, I didn't like during the commercial breaks. I was
- 14:26Speaker 2: just talking with my buddy and we had just made
- 14:28Speaker 2: friends with people around the bar because we're sitting in
- 14:30Speaker 2: the bar area a chili. So I really didn't catch
- 14:32Speaker 2: a lot of them. The stuff I have seen i'd
- 14:34Speaker 2: seen before, but the did go one, like I said,
- 14:38Speaker 2: was the one I saw as the super Bowl was going.
- 14:40Speaker 2: But I don't think I had a least favorite commercial.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I don't really, I wasn't really paying attention that much.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I my my least favorite And it sounds bad for
- 14:51Speaker 3: saying this, and a just because it's been on social
- 14:53Speaker 3: media and they played it a lot. But the Snoop
- 14:56Speaker 3: Dogg tom Brady yelling at each other, it's a good message.
- 15:01Speaker 3: They they could have found someone better than Tom Brady.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 15:08Speaker 2: It's just I don't know why that that one just it.
- 15:12Speaker 3: I said, good message, but uh, I mean you could
- 15:16Speaker 3: have found someone to face off with Snoop Uh. I mean,
- 15:19Speaker 3: I guess if you wanted a white person that other
- 15:24Speaker 3: than someone from the top of Everest Tom Brady does.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Yeah, the like even going through as some of the
- 15:35Speaker 1: ones that that were listed, I didn't, you know, same
- 15:37Speaker 1: as you, Roger. I didn't catch every single spot, and
- 15:39Speaker 1: I think it's impossible to catch all of them. But
- 15:43Speaker 1: the according to the ad meter from USA Today, the
- 15:46Speaker 1: least favorite spot was from TB and it was a
- 15:50Speaker 1: promo for a to B exclusive show, uh the Z Suite. Okay, yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 1: all right, so let's just let's jump in. So we
- 15:59Speaker 1: got the Commerci was covered the pregame and Tom Brady's
- 16:02Speaker 1: face and watch we got that covered and quick acknowledgment
- 16:08Speaker 1: to in that same piece that Fox did in the
- 16:11Speaker 1: pregame with Lady Gaga's massive Spy versus Spy hat. The
- 16:19Speaker 1: game itself Trey. You said it beating. The whole time,
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'm thinking is can Kansas City make this interesting at all?
- 16:27Speaker 1: And watching that game, I sincerely wondered how it was
- 16:33Speaker 1: Kansas City made it to the Super Bowl, let alone
- 16:36Speaker 1: won more than ten games. Based on the performance they
- 16:40Speaker 1: had last night. That offensive line was got awful. It
- 16:44Speaker 1: actually looked like the Cowboys had somehow taken over the
- 16:49Speaker 1: Chiefs uniforms and played for them.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I'll tell you exactly who the Kansas City Chiefs reminded
- 16:54Speaker 3: me of, and I cannot remember which year. There was
- 16:56Speaker 3: a year the Rangers made the playoffs, but their rundown
- 17:00Speaker 3: deferential was minute because they had won all these last
- 17:05Speaker 3: you know, ninth inning games and everything else.
- 17:07Speaker 2: The same thing with the Chiefs.
- 17:09Speaker 3: If you go back and look at their season, they
- 17:11Speaker 3: won a lot of games by one score less. I
- 17:14Speaker 3: think it was well yeah, because it was you know,
- 17:17Speaker 3: just last second and it was Mahomes doing Mahomes things.
- 17:22Speaker 3: But you're right, and that Philly defensive line is probably
- 17:25Speaker 3: the best of the NFL.
- 17:26Speaker 2: But they whooked.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I mean that was that was an ass whoopin and
- 17:30Speaker 3: a half and it just something else people had said, Kelsey.
- 17:35Speaker 3: You know people don't realize Kelsey and Gronk we're in
- 17:37Speaker 3: the same draft class. And you know, Kelsey's now thirty
- 17:41Speaker 3: five years old and his body has taken a beating
- 17:43Speaker 3: and he is not near the player he was even
- 17:46Speaker 3: two seasons ago. And really, I mean, Mahomes just really
- 17:52Speaker 3: didn't have a lot of targets.
- 17:54Speaker 2: It just showed.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I mean, they're the Kansas City defense was great, they
- 17:57Speaker 3: just couldn't play the whole Are we on are we
- 18:00Speaker 3: doing this for a broadcast?
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 18:03Speaker 1: No, let your feelings flow trade.
- 18:06Speaker 3: The Chiefs defense was great, but they just couldn't stay
- 18:09Speaker 3: out there the whole fucking game, which is like I
- 18:11Speaker 3: remember the first half after that second Mahomes turnover one
- 18:14Speaker 3: of the defense, I mean, they just looked like, God, damn,
- 18:17Speaker 3: really we got can't we have thirty seconds?
- 18:21Speaker 1: Well, it's pretty bad. It's like they only had one
- 18:23Speaker 1: first down in the entire first half and going into
- 18:27Speaker 1: the middle or late to the third quarter, they hadn't.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Even passed midfield. Yeah, the defense has got to go,
- 18:34Speaker 2: Like come on.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Guys, I'm like Sarah and I were watching the game saying,
- 18:37Speaker 1: I've never seen a team, you know, more desperate for
- 18:41Speaker 1: a long ass halftime show than the Chiefs are right now. Uh.
- 18:45Speaker 2: But also you know it was in New Orleans and
- 18:48Speaker 2: we have to call it out. I don't know why
- 18:49Speaker 2: nobody's saying. I turned to my buddy Steve, and I
- 18:51Speaker 2: was like, they look like they went out last night,
- 18:54Speaker 2: Like Mahomes looked pale, like he looked tired and set
- 18:59Speaker 2: same with Kelsey look tired. Like they looked tired at
- 19:01Speaker 2: the game, like they just looked like they weren't there,
- 19:04Speaker 2: like they wouldn't got fucked up the night before in
- 19:07Speaker 2: New Orleans. I think it's too much press. I think,
- 19:12Speaker 2: you know, there's no way they could gotten around.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Uh.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I mean I just I literally just think.
- 19:19Speaker 3: And I didn't think Kansas City probably knew there was
- 19:22Speaker 3: an ass whipping coming because that line has been suspect
- 19:25Speaker 3: all year and damn.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yeah, but there were times like when I had my
- 19:30Speaker 2: nightclub in development, the Dallas Cowboys could come in and
- 19:33Speaker 2: I would go, is there a game tomorrow?
- 19:36Speaker 1: It's right, let's be fair. You're talking about the Quincy
- 19:39Speaker 1: Carter cowboy era. There's a reason why they were those cowboys,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and we're talking about these Chiefs.
- 19:47Speaker 3: But yeah, but I hate to say that, right, how
- 19:49Speaker 3: long ago was that fifteen twenty years ago?
- 19:52Speaker 2: I mean just cell phone cameras alone. I mean the
- 19:55Speaker 2: fact that.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Especially Travis Kelsey's big ass with the Taylor Swift, there's
- 20:01Speaker 3: no way if anyone had seen him, he would have Yeah,
- 20:04Speaker 3: there would have been all over TMZ.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I mean you can still have it delivered to your room.
- 20:10Speaker 2: That's that's possible. There is that, Yeah, so you can,
- 20:14Speaker 2: you can get your buddies together and have a Taiwan
- 20:17Speaker 2: on the night before. But that's what they looked like.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I was there was sluggish and just tired and dehydrated.
- 20:22Speaker 2: That's what they looked like to me.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Ill prepared. Very Yeah, that's whatever the cause of it was,
- 20:28Speaker 1: we don't know, but they absolutely looked ill prepared.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the people were, they're rooting for the chiefs.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Like there was a lady that was at the end,
- 20:36Speaker 2: the older lady sequence kinas city Chief's dress, and I
- 20:42Speaker 2: think at halftime, before they even got to halftime, they
- 20:44Speaker 2: got up and left and she's like this that's game,
- 20:47Speaker 2: that's it's over. And I'd never seen them take a
- 20:50Speaker 2: beating like that.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Speaking of taking a beating, what did you guys think
- 20:57Speaker 1: about the Kendrick Lamar halftime show because to me, you
- 21:03Speaker 1: guys loved it, so to me, it was a bit
- 21:05Speaker 1: of a beating just because I don't really know much
- 21:09Speaker 1: of Kendrick Lamar's musical catalog. I've learned quite a bit
- 21:14Speaker 1: today and I think I saw I saw someone put
- 21:18Speaker 1: it this way and it made a lot of sense,
- 21:20Speaker 1: And so this is what I'm going to go with
- 21:22Speaker 1: for my Kendrick Lamar rap ignorant. This guy said that
- 21:27Speaker 1: that halftime show wasn't about entertainment, it was a statement,
- 21:32Speaker 1: and that resonated with me. And whether it was a
- 21:36Speaker 1: symbolism the red, white, and blue the country divided because
- 21:39Speaker 1: you got Kendrick Lamar standing in the middle of the
- 21:41Speaker 1: flag and they're also split off and stuff. But I
- 21:47Speaker 1: could tell he's saying some very you know, important things.
- 21:50Speaker 1: He's clearly a talented rapper, but I don't really recognize
- 21:52Speaker 1: any of that stuff. So I didn't love the halftime show.
- 21:56Speaker 1: But after reading what that guy said, it's like it
- 21:59Speaker 1: was more of a state then it was an entertainment piece,
- 22:01Speaker 1: Like okay, then I wasn't supposed to be like tapping
- 22:03Speaker 1: my foot dancing around my living room. But so Trey,
- 22:07Speaker 1: you you loved it, Raj, you loved it because I
- 22:09Speaker 1: guess you guys are a lot more familiar with Kendrick
- 22:11Speaker 1: Lamar than I am. God, I'm not the hip one.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I just I started listening to him
- 22:18Speaker 2: when I was in Los Angeles South Central Rapper, so
- 22:22Speaker 2: I started listening to him there, and uh, yeah, he's
- 22:24Speaker 2: very gifted, very talented, very very poignant. And Trey, I'll
- 22:28Speaker 2: let you take it about Drake.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I mean, I mean their beef goes back almost decade,
- 22:38Speaker 3: but I don't think Drake really understood. I think Drake
- 22:43Speaker 3: at one point thought this was kind of a haha,
- 22:45Speaker 3: good natured beef, and he didn't realize Kendrick Lamar hates him.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I mean they're there that with you know, the passion
- 22:52Speaker 3: of ten thousand burning hot suns n kenk Lamar hates
- 22:56Speaker 3: Drake and he and you have to go back to
- 22:59Speaker 3: this rap battle over the last year, and like Drake
- 23:03Speaker 3: would release a diss track and then Kendrick would release
- 23:07Speaker 3: two or three, then Drake would release a response, then
- 23:11Speaker 3: Kendrick would release two or three, then Drake one more,
- 23:15Speaker 3: and then.
- 23:16Speaker 2: There was I forgot. I think it was like turn
- 23:18Speaker 2: the TVs off or whatever. But then then.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Just when you thought like, okay, Drake's about to respond,
- 23:24Speaker 3: then he releases not Like Us, which becomes the anthem like,
- 23:29Speaker 3: I mean, this man won two Grammys and I got
- 23:31Speaker 3: the Super Bowl halftime show beating Drake's ass and basically
- 23:35Speaker 3: calling Drake a pedophile.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yep, and there was Drake.
- 23:39Speaker 3: This is when you know you've lost the rap battle
- 23:41Speaker 3: when you have to sue the other rapper for defamation
- 23:44Speaker 3: of character because you've taken that big of a beating, damn.
- 23:47Speaker 3: And that's why everyone was like wondering if Kendrick Lamar
- 23:50Speaker 3: would do not Like Us, not because whether he wanted
- 23:53Speaker 3: to or not, but would the network in the NFL
- 23:55Speaker 3: let him with pending litigation? And obviously, especially you go
- 23:59Speaker 3: on TikTok, NFL, Fox, all of them may have leaned
- 24:02Speaker 3: into that and going look at what we.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Did, I mean, the whole the whole stadium.
- 24:07Speaker 3: When he goes to you know, the line about a minor, which,
- 24:12Speaker 3: in case you didn't know, that gold crusted lower case
- 24:14Speaker 3: A he was wearing, that's the whole a minor. I mean,
- 24:17Speaker 3: he's just symbolism of his hate for Drake.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I mean, I just thought he was a fan of Amazon.
- 24:25Speaker 2: No, that's the that's the a minor, that's the you.
- 24:28Speaker 2: You think you strike a chord, But I bet it's
- 24:29Speaker 2: a minor and it's a pedophilia reference that I get.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and I taught that lyric. I was like, Oh,
- 24:36Speaker 1: someone's gonna be upset by that. Who's he talking about?
- 24:38Speaker 2: Now? I know?
- 24:40Speaker 1: So basically, Kendrick Lamar took the majority of the Super
- 24:44Speaker 1: Bowl halftime show to diss Drake.
- 24:47Speaker 3: I mean, you want to know the reason for my
- 24:49Speaker 3: background is is bud Bite is the last brand that
- 24:54Speaker 3: has been beaten nearly as bad as Drake, and it's
- 24:58Speaker 3: really not even I mean, I mean, I was gonna
- 25:02Speaker 3: do New Coke, but that's a reference very few people get.
- 25:05Speaker 3: But I mean, as a Drake really, at this point
- 25:10Speaker 3: he's made a ton of money. His best move would
- 25:12Speaker 3: just be to drop the suit and and just live
- 25:15Speaker 3: in Canada in peace and quiet.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Take the l you you.
- 25:21Speaker 3: If you go watch TikTok, the number of people I
- 25:23Speaker 3: mean they filmed the crowd like this is when you
- 25:26Speaker 3: knew Not Like Us had become a huge hit. Is
- 25:28Speaker 3: all the HBCU bands were playing it during the football games, Like,
- 25:32Speaker 3: that's how big of a And this is a dis
- 25:35Speaker 3: track that he released like in no time. I mean,
- 25:39Speaker 3: it wasn't like part of a big album. It was
- 25:42Speaker 3: a disc track that now has won two Grammys. Just
- 25:48Speaker 3: just murdered somebody on the on live TV.
- 25:51Speaker 2: And I think it's I don't remember who who was,
- 25:55Speaker 2: but his ex girlfriend I think was there Williams.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I saw that during the halftime show and I was like, is.
- 26:02Speaker 2: That one of the Williams sisters? Yeah, that's what I
- 26:04Speaker 2: forgot her.
- 26:04Speaker 3: And supposedly, yeah, because she's just to date Drake and
- 26:07Speaker 3: hates him and and supposedly what she was dancing on
- 26:11Speaker 3: that they didn't show was a tombstone for Drake. She
- 26:16Speaker 3: was crip walking on a tombstone for Drake.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I did not see that. Interesting, I did not.
- 26:22Speaker 3: That's what they said. The cameras wouldn't show it. But
- 26:25Speaker 3: that's what I was I read. Whether it's true or not,
- 26:28Speaker 3: I don't know, but I love I love that.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I love that the NFL has come so far that
- 26:32Speaker 1: you know, you know, twenty years ago, they they showed
- 26:34Speaker 1: a little bit, they showed like the tippy that they
- 26:36Speaker 1: showed the tip of Janet Jackson didty, but they refused
- 26:41Speaker 1: to show a tombstone with Drake's name on it.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll tell you what if you know Canada's had
- 26:47Speaker 2: a rough week.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Ryan Reynolds has taken a beating, and Drake, God, I
- 26:51Speaker 3: mean that's yeah, just you should keep him up there.
- 26:57Speaker 1: And you didn't even mention the tariffs. Oh god?
- 27:04Speaker 2: All right?
- 27:05Speaker 1: So, uh well, thank you guys for the Kindrick Lamar education.
- 27:09Speaker 1: So I'm now more socially aware of the rap game.
- 27:14Speaker 2: I mean, he has some some you've heard some of
- 27:17Speaker 2: his songs. I just say this.
- 27:18Speaker 3: I I work in a bar, and it's just a
- 27:21Speaker 3: different playlist I've I've I know more than I know
- 27:25Speaker 3: about more about contemporary music than I should for my age,
- 27:29Speaker 3: just because for what I do.
- 27:30Speaker 1: You know, you know more about black music than you
- 27:32Speaker 1: should for your skin color. That's true, but that's a
- 27:39Speaker 1: good thing because that means you're cool in your hip,
- 27:41Speaker 1: You're you're you're you know, up with the current things.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Like I mean, I had, I had no idea like
- 27:47Speaker 1: you you guys describing this uh beef between Drake and
- 27:52Speaker 1: Kendrick Lamar, it sounds vaguely familiar, like I'd seen it
- 27:55Speaker 1: in a couple of headlines, but I was just like,
- 27:58Speaker 1: it's a rap.
- 27:58Speaker 3: It's really it's certain you with Drake making fun of
- 28:02Speaker 3: Kendrick Lamar's size, don't go after a short person.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Tom Brady did that during the game. Did you catch that?
- 28:11Speaker 1: They showed they they did. They They did a quick
- 28:13Speaker 1: shot of some of the celebrities in the stands at
- 28:15Speaker 1: the game, and they showed, uh, Kevin Hart, and Tom
- 28:19Speaker 1: Brady fired back, howd the cameras find him? I don't
- 28:24Speaker 1: think Kevin Burkhardt understood what he meant at first, and
- 28:26Speaker 1: then Tom Brady kind of explained it. He's like, well,
- 28:29Speaker 1: you know, because I had, I had, I love him,
- 28:31Speaker 1: but I had to get him back for for all
- 28:33Speaker 1: the bad things he said about me during the roast.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Well that's there. You know, there was that one commercial.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Even Brady made fun of himself like they were changing
- 28:41Speaker 3: his batteries and they're like, yeah, something about you know
- 28:44Speaker 3: he's never been saying since the roast or something so
- 28:47Speaker 3: good on him. But yeah, there's a big difference between
- 28:49Speaker 3: making fun of Kevin Hart and Kendrick Lamar.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Yeah, one from Philly, one's from Compton.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Your battle Speaking of the segues have been beautifully natural today,
- 29:03Speaker 1: So thank you guys. So in the postgame celebration, Philly
- 29:08Speaker 1: went Philly. Ah, Jesus, I was really hopeful that I'd
- 29:17Speaker 1: wake up today and not see a bunch of you know,
- 29:20Speaker 1: asinine activity from Eagles fans, and uh well, you know,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I was, yeah, I think exactly that look on your face, Drake,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I was. I was silly to think to expect more
- 29:30Speaker 1: out of them. Uh So I wake up this morning,
- 29:32Speaker 1: I'm clicking through and and Philly fans at the game
- 29:35Speaker 1: when they showed Taylor Swift on the JumboTron, there's they
- 29:38Speaker 1: start the the fuck you Taylor Swift chant or they
- 29:42Speaker 1: start booing her. And then after the game they're doing
- 29:45Speaker 1: the same thing. After the game they've won, they've won
- 29:49Speaker 1: in a Super Bowl blowout, they're super happy. What do
- 29:51Speaker 1: they start doing. They start fuck Taylor Swift chants. It's like,
- 29:55Speaker 1: you won, why are you wasting your time talking about that?
- 29:59Speaker 1: And then, to make matters worse, Philly fans burned Kermit
- 30:03Speaker 1: the Frog. They set a Kermit the Frog muppet on
- 30:08Speaker 1: fire in Philadelphia to celebrate the win over the Chiefs because,
- 30:13Speaker 1: as many have pointed out, be included that Patrick Mahomes's
- 30:16Speaker 1: voice resembles that of Kermit the Frog, so because of that,
- 30:20Speaker 1: they torched up poor Kermit. What is wrong with these people?
- 30:26Speaker 2: Just be happy?
- 30:26Speaker 1: Just be like yay Eagles? Why why you gotta torch
- 30:30Speaker 1: a muppet?
- 30:32Speaker 2: I don't know how you're surprised Like everything you're saying,
- 30:35Speaker 2: I'm like that Taylor Swift.
- 30:38Speaker 1: It just seems it just seems like a just a
- 30:40Speaker 1: just a dickhead thing to do. He's be like a
- 30:43Speaker 1: fuck her. It's like hearing a play. Why are you?
- 30:46Speaker 1: Why are you obsessed with that? And then you torch
- 30:49Speaker 1: a muppet because because you think Patrick mahomes sounds like
- 30:53Speaker 1: Kermit the Frog, so you decide to destroy an effigy
- 30:56Speaker 1: and an invention by Jim Henson?
- 30:59Speaker 3: What what happy.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Fan base have you ever seen? From the northeast? Hang on,
- 31:06Speaker 2: it's the weather.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Toronto Raptors technically from the Northeast.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Okay, United States?
- 31:15Speaker 3: Hey, and I promise you Toronto after the beat it
- 31:17Speaker 3: because Drake's from Toronto. Yeah, Toronto. Toronto ain't saying ship.
- 31:24Speaker 1: They're hiding.
- 31:27Speaker 2: They're apologizing for Drake. They're trying to kick Drake to Vancouver.
- 31:36Speaker 1: No, and and I wasn't expecting good behavior from the
- 31:39Speaker 1: Eagles fans. It's just to me, it's just like it's
- 31:41Speaker 1: misplaced enthusiasm. It's like, man, we are so happy. Like
- 31:45Speaker 1: we talked about this the other day, Drake with various
- 31:48Speaker 1: cities and their celebrations after their teams have won a title,
- 31:52Speaker 1: and they get so excited they go outside and flip
- 31:54Speaker 1: over cars and set them on fire. That's ridiculous. But
- 31:59Speaker 1: then to be like, ah, you know, fuck this person
- 32:02Speaker 1: because she dates the guy on the team that we
- 32:05Speaker 1: just beat. It's like, I know, I can't expect class
- 32:09Speaker 1: out of everybody, but it's just like that's just sad, Like, well,
- 32:14Speaker 1: why are you mad at Kermit? You won? Why aren't
- 32:18Speaker 1: you happy?
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 32:19Speaker 3: And also it goes to the Chiefs went from the
- 32:21Speaker 3: team everyone loved until you know, they hit that dynasty
- 32:25Speaker 3: level and then everyone starts to hate on him.
- 32:27Speaker 2: And I think we wanted just.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Enough of Everyone had enough of Taylor and Travis, and
- 32:36Speaker 3: so I think that's just more backlash of popularity.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. There was an older black guy that
- 32:43Speaker 2: was sitting next to me and when they won, when
- 32:45Speaker 2: Philly won, he stood up and he just I think
- 32:48Speaker 2: he was talking to himself, but I heard him and
- 32:50Speaker 2: he goes, I hope they greased up them poles as
- 32:54Speaker 2: he walked out, and I was like, you knew about
- 32:55Speaker 2: that too, and he just was like, oh my god,
- 32:57Speaker 2: like he got caught, Like oh my god, I'm sorry
- 32:59Speaker 2: you heard that. I was like, yeah, I was like,
- 33:00Speaker 2: I didn't know that was a real thing.
- 33:02Speaker 1: And I wasn't making that up When I said real,
- 33:06Speaker 1: a guy fell off one of those and died.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yeah, he was just had a toothpick in his mouths
- 33:10Speaker 2: like ohe they creased up the bulls. I was like, yep,
- 33:13Speaker 2: that apparently everybody knows about this.
- 33:17Speaker 1: It's a real thing.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I don't think I've seen any like major rioting going
- 33:21Speaker 2: on in Philly.
- 33:22Speaker 3: So hey, I mean good good on the all in
- 33:25Speaker 3: all that, that's way to go Philly.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Yeah, physically, very subdued. Verbally, still all Philly. Uh give
- 33:32Speaker 1: it time, Tray. They still have a parade. There's still
- 33:36Speaker 1: plenty of time for them to torch Independence Hall and
- 33:40Speaker 1: everything it stands for. Because the Eagles won their second
- 33:43Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Now I'm wondering, go ahead, Tray.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Philly just needs to pay Kendrick Lamar just go, hey,
- 33:56Speaker 3: you fucking anything up?
- 34:02Speaker 2: Well, joined Drake.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Oh my god. All right, So super Bowl fifty nine
- 34:08Speaker 1: in the books real quick, did you guys know that
- 34:11Speaker 1: there's a Super Bowl logo conspiracy?
- 34:16Speaker 2: I did not.
- 34:17Speaker 1: I didn't know it until this morning. There is. I
- 34:21Speaker 1: don't know if it's necessarily flat Earth level conspiracy. But
- 34:25Speaker 1: there are those that believe that when the super Bowl
- 34:29Speaker 1: logo is released each year, because it's released well in
- 34:33Speaker 1: advance of the super Bowl itself, they don't know who
- 34:37Speaker 1: the participants are going to be. But there are people
- 34:40Speaker 1: that think that the colors that are used in the
- 34:43Speaker 1: super Bowl logo is the NFL predetermining who's going to
- 34:49Speaker 1: be in that super Bowl. So in super Bowl fifty nine,
- 34:53Speaker 1: the lix to the colors that were used red and green, Chiefs, Eagles.
- 35:01Speaker 1: And when they go back through and look at the
- 35:04Speaker 1: various super Bowl logos, they can see, oh yeah, like
- 35:08Speaker 1: super Bowl thirty, you always yes Cowboys or twenty seven
- 35:13Speaker 1: whatever it was. You got Cowboys blue, and then you
- 35:15Speaker 1: got Bills red. Then you had like the Bengals and
- 35:19Speaker 1: the Rams. Super Bowl there was orange and there was yellow.
- 35:22Speaker 1: There are people that truly believe the Super Bowl logo.
- 35:24Speaker 1: It's the NFL showing people who the teams are going
- 35:28Speaker 1: to be and that it's all fixed.
- 35:30Speaker 3: I mean, Jesus, I'm surprised they didn't say it's a
- 35:33Speaker 3: big gay conspiracy, that they're just colors in the rainbow
- 35:36Speaker 3: and that's promoting the rainbow flag.
- 35:39Speaker 1: That's this afternoon on Fox News. That'll be on Hannity
- 35:46Speaker 1: tonight on Fox. All right, that's our Super Bowl fifty
