- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's the almost Famous podcast, and as always we're here
- 0:09Speaker 2: to support all of our fellow Bachelor Nation contestants. Recently,
- 0:16Speaker 2: we've been breaking down Alex Cooper's Unwell Winter Games because
- 0:20Speaker 2: Joe and Serena have taken a part in those Winter Games.
- 0:24Speaker 2: We started this whole thing by sharing our thoughts on
- 0:27Speaker 2: the casting. It was confusing, to say the least, the
- 0:31Speaker 2: cast that was chosen for Unwell Winter Games were controversial.
- 0:36Speaker 2: They were usually in the headlines for things that were
- 0:40Speaker 2: not maybe appreciated. We were a little confused. We soon
- 0:46Speaker 2: found out why, and as we close the wrap up
- 0:51Speaker 2: breaking down episodes three and four, Heather is with me
- 0:55Speaker 2: today and I think we really understand, at least I do,
- 0:59Speaker 2: why this cast was chosen.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I would still say there's a little
- 1:04Speaker 3: bit of a question mark around Joe and Serena because
- 1:06Speaker 3: they're maybe the least controversial people on this show. But
- 1:11Speaker 3: boy did they get spicy in one of these episodes.
- 1:16Speaker 3: I think that was then being like we're fun, we're hip,
- 1:19Speaker 3: we're we can we can break rules too, kind of thing.
- 1:23Speaker 2: We make out, we make out yeah, you know, it
- 1:28Speaker 2: was funny for me, and I actually think it was
- 1:30Speaker 2: a very sweet part of the show where the married
- 1:33Speaker 2: couples were actually the ones to participate in the makeout
- 1:37Speaker 2: because with how this show was built, I think they thought, oh,
- 1:41Speaker 2: this will be a fun challenge to see how spicy
- 1:46Speaker 2: things can get and see if it causes any jealousy
- 1:49Speaker 2: or controversy. But no, it actually became a very sweet
- 1:53Speaker 2: moment for married couples. Go married couples, you can still
- 1:56Speaker 2: have a lot of fun.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know if I'm going to be able
- 2:00Speaker 4: to unsee it.
- 2:01Speaker 2: There's zero chants at what they were doing on the
- 2:04Speaker 2: mountain was actually what it looks like at home.
- 2:07Speaker 4: You thinks.
- 2:09Speaker 2: There's zero chance they're showing it up.
- 2:13Speaker 4: But good for them.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Hey, it's it's great. I'm thankful and happy that they
- 2:18Speaker 2: love each other so much. But that was the big
- 2:20Speaker 2: moment for Joe and Serena really throughout the whole season,
- 2:24Speaker 2: which was four episodes long. Uh, we're going to kind
- 2:28Speaker 2: of kick this thing off by breaking down the episode.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Andrew continues to be the main character of this show.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I'm not going to call him the star because I
- 2:38Speaker 2: don't know he did make a weird comment in the
- 2:41Speaker 2: midst of this where he said, Hey, what if I
- 2:43Speaker 2: get a huge following from this, what are you going
- 2:46Speaker 2: to do? And that's always just kind of a cringey
- 2:48Speaker 2: comment for me.
- 2:50Speaker 3: I think everything I mean Andrew was nothing but cringe
- 2:55Speaker 3: to me. That this like just how he tell me more,
- 2:58Speaker 3: how he talked on camera. I think I said in
- 3:00Speaker 3: the last episode, the sunglasses on at all hours of
- 3:03Speaker 3: the day and night, inside, outside and interview was cringey
- 3:07Speaker 3: to me.
- 3:08Speaker 4: And then in.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Like when he came out to the hot tub and
- 3:12Speaker 3: he was like, what's going on here? And it's like, Andrew,
- 3:16Speaker 3: you've known this girl for five.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Seconds literally an afternoon.
- 3:21Speaker 3: It literally an afternoon. Yeah, I think he's just playing
- 3:26Speaker 3: it up. I'm I'm surprised he got as much camera
- 3:29Speaker 3: time as he did, especially when they eliminated him in
- 3:33Speaker 3: like the first episode.
- 3:34Speaker 2: He just never left never And I've told Ashley this before.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I'm all for people wanting to get a following and
- 3:43Speaker 2: get on these shows and have a good time, and
- 3:45Speaker 2: but I just want you honest about it. And it
- 3:48Speaker 2: felt like when he was asked it was this, oh goodness,
- 3:53Speaker 2: this is and it's like no, just be like, yes,
- 3:56Speaker 2: this is my time, this is my spot. I want
- 3:59Speaker 2: to get, you know, known from this. I don't know
- 4:02Speaker 2: how many people watch this show, so I don't know
- 4:04Speaker 2: his following if it's really going to go up or not.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I think one of the episodes I watched last night
- 4:09Speaker 3: was already at a million views.
- 4:12Speaker 2: That's pretty good.
- 4:13Speaker 3: That's pretty good for it not having been out for
- 4:16Speaker 3: a week. So yeah, I'm sure it's like found, you know,
- 4:20Speaker 3: some sort of audience on the internet. But yeah, if
- 4:23Speaker 3: that translates to followers, I mean, while you're talking, I
- 4:27Speaker 3: can obviously pull up his Instagram and kind of see
- 4:30Speaker 3: where he's at.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Let's see, well, the drama starts once the cameras are down.
- 4:37Speaker 2: The drama was that Juliette had made some comments towards
- 4:40Speaker 2: Cameron about him that other straight men would not want
- 4:45Speaker 2: to use the restroom with him. He took it as
- 4:48Speaker 2: him being kind of a creep, and he was very
- 4:51Speaker 2: much against that, which makes sense. You're like, I don't
- 4:54Speaker 2: want to I'm not a creep. I don't want to
- 4:55Speaker 2: be known as a creep. That drama was kind of
- 5:00Speaker 2: propelled as long as it could go once they had
- 5:03Speaker 2: a conversation. It felt like it was in a sense
- 5:05Speaker 2: water on the bridge of misunderstanding drinks were flowing? Was
- 5:09Speaker 2: the right thing to say, No, it's that was not kind.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I think what rubbed me the wrong way about that.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Sorry to interrupt you, but what rubbed me the wrong
- 5:17Speaker 3: way was it felt like Juliette kind of took a
- 5:20Speaker 3: lack of accountability. The apology kind of felt like I
- 5:26Speaker 3: don't remember saying that I'm sorry, I guess, And then
- 5:30Speaker 3: there was like crying but there was no tears, And
- 5:34Speaker 3: it's like, do I believe that.
- 5:36Speaker 4: She doesn't remember? Sure?
- 5:38Speaker 3: Does it sound like there was a lot of drinking
- 5:39Speaker 3: going on, I can imagine. But I think the way
- 5:43Speaker 3: to approach that is I'm so sorry, please forgive me.
- 5:48Speaker 3: It won't happen again, and then, you know, hold on to,
- 5:52Speaker 3: you know, whatever that embarrassment is, and use it to
- 5:56Speaker 3: not make a mistake like that again. Where it got
- 5:59Speaker 3: weird was her then being like, I'm feeling attacked. I'm
- 6:02Speaker 3: really upset that everybody was talking about me in the
- 6:05Speaker 3: house all day long today. He should have come to me, Yeah,
- 6:07Speaker 3: he should have. He should have come directly to you.
- 6:10Speaker 3: But the flipping of making the situation then about her
- 6:15Speaker 3: was a little out of line, and Juliette, it came
- 6:18Speaker 3: across as like super immature and just not how you
- 6:23Speaker 3: kind of own making a mistake as an adult.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I would agree with that. It did feel odd. And
- 6:29Speaker 2: here's one thing I think that went under the radar
- 6:32Speaker 2: when it came to Cameron. He's you know, he's a
- 6:34Speaker 2: big character, he's a loud voice on social media. He
- 6:40Speaker 2: I thought, did this thing that nobody expected where he
- 6:43Speaker 2: came into this show and confronted all of the issues
- 6:48Speaker 2: kind of head on. He really was not afraid of
- 6:51Speaker 2: the confrontation leading to a place. It wasn't just to
- 6:55Speaker 2: have confrontation simply to have confrontation. Cameron, if he wants
- 6:59Speaker 2: to submitted or not, at least during the show, displayed this
- 7:02Speaker 2: desire to have confrontation leading to some type of healing
- 7:06Speaker 2: and it worked in all cases. Juliette, Yeah, twisted it
- 7:11Speaker 2: really quickly. It felt weird. How many times have we,
- 7:15Speaker 2: you know, had a night where either you're tired, or
- 7:19Speaker 2: you've drank too much, or you said something that's come
- 7:23Speaker 2: off wrong, and then the next day, how wonderful is
- 7:28Speaker 2: it when that person that you've heard says, Hey, I
- 7:30Speaker 2: want to talk to you about these things you said.
- 7:32Speaker 2: It shows that they care and it shows that they
- 7:35Speaker 2: want to get clarity. So overall, the drama kind of
- 7:40Speaker 2: was this like underlying thing. It never really felt like
- 7:44Speaker 2: it was as big of a deal as the show
- 7:45Speaker 2: made it until Juliette kind of say that you were
- 7:48Speaker 2: attacking me, and I don't know if that's true. I
- 7:52Speaker 2: think they were just it's a bunch of big personalities
- 7:55Speaker 2: trying to figure out how to navigate the world.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Well, they also were attacking her because she kept saying
- 8:00Speaker 3: I didn't say that.
- 8:01Speaker 4: I didn't say that.
- 8:02Speaker 3: So they kept bringing in more people who were present
- 8:05Speaker 3: and were.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Like, yeah, you did say that, you did say that.
- 8:08Speaker 3: She was like, you're attacking me, You're attacking me. It's like, no,
- 8:12Speaker 3: that's not what's happening.
- 8:13Speaker 2: But anyways, one thing that definitely didn't happen as much
- 8:17Speaker 2: as I bet Alex Cooper and the production team expected
- 8:20Speaker 2: was there was very little hookup on this show. Really,
- 8:23Speaker 2: there was only like a few instances. It was four
- 8:26Speaker 2: days long. I don't know how much they can expect,
- 8:28Speaker 2: but it was the underlying premise of most of the
- 8:31Speaker 2: host's jokes and kind of the ITM conversations, but there
- 8:36Speaker 2: wasn't really a lot of hookups.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Going on in the I mean, the only one getting
- 8:40Speaker 4: some action was Hallie.
- 8:42Speaker 3: I mean we saw her kiss and Andrew, we heard
- 8:45Speaker 3: that she kissed Dakota off camera, and we saw her
- 8:48Speaker 3: kiss Alyssa. So Hallie was the one really holding that
- 8:52Speaker 3: torch on this show and was like, oh, you want
- 8:55Speaker 3: people to make out, like, I'll take that.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I'll do that. Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Can you explain to me the intrigue in Dakota.
- 9:03Speaker 3: How I'm embarrassed to do this because of everything that's
- 9:08Speaker 3: come to light. But obviously I've talked about it in
- 9:11Speaker 3: previous episodes where I'm like, well, Dakota, I get it.
- 9:14Speaker 3: He's like a lovable loser. I mean, listen, I hate
- 9:19Speaker 3: that we have to say this every time. Obviously we
- 9:21Speaker 3: don't condone violence or anything that has been rumored to
- 9:27Speaker 3: happen or is, you know, in the process of being
- 9:30Speaker 3: worked out right now with court issues. Speaking objectively, I
- 9:35Speaker 3: think that Dakota is an attractive man.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I think he has a very well groomed beard. I
- 9:42Speaker 4: think he has nice teeth.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I think he has, you know, an overall nice appearance,
- 9:49Speaker 3: So in that sense, I get it, Like I get
- 9:52Speaker 3: why she's attracted to him. I think he's an attractive man.
- 9:56Speaker 3: His personality is so goofy, like the guy is not
- 10:02Speaker 3: like Swave in any way. So I think that I
- 10:04Speaker 3: kind of find it a little bit endearing.
- 10:08Speaker 4: The fact that he.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Is a very obvious love bomber and just you can
- 10:15Speaker 3: see in just these interactions with Hallie and stuff like that, that.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Is a turn off to me.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I'm not interested in that, and I don't find that attractive,
- 10:23Speaker 3: but I can see why women would.
- 10:26Speaker 2: That was my question, and I think you answered answered
- 10:29Speaker 2: it well, is outside of I don't. I mean, you
- 10:32Speaker 2: cannot obviously in the world we know today dismiss the
- 10:37Speaker 2: accusations no against him. But if you didn't know, and
- 10:42Speaker 2: I don't think they knew at the time of the
- 10:43Speaker 2: filming of the show any of that, what is it
- 10:45Speaker 2: about this guy that makes him desirable? That was my question.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of pointed this out too when I
- 10:55Speaker 3: was putting this together. But the fact that every episode
- 10:58Speaker 3: they very clear say what day it was recorded, do
- 11:02Speaker 3: you feel like that was them doing an after kind
- 11:07Speaker 3: of due diligence of being like, do you see this
- 11:09Speaker 3: was recorded before whatever February incident happened between Taylor and Dakota, Like, yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 3: it felt.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Intentional face a little bit.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I was.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Thinking when I was watching, because at one point I
- 11:22Speaker 3: was like, wait, what day is it? And then I
- 11:24Speaker 3: was like, I was like gonna go back and like
- 11:27Speaker 3: but then I saw, oh, we're like only February second
- 11:29Speaker 3: or February third, So whatever happened happened twenty some days
- 11:34Speaker 3: later after this.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Did we get an update on Andrew's following.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Yeah, it's nothing.
- 11:40Speaker 3: It's like four thousand people. Yeah, yeah, Andrew is Andrew
- 11:46Speaker 3: Underscore Underscore vetter. Yeah, four eight hundred and seventy one followers.
- 11:52Speaker 3: So and looks like majority, looks like all the cast
- 11:57Speaker 3: is following. And I can see Dakota, Serena, Joe.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I mean, he seems like a nice guy, and he'd
- 12:02Speaker 2: be sure.
- 12:03Speaker 4: He is a nice guy.
- 12:05Speaker 3: I think he's a he's a party boy who ended
- 12:08Speaker 3: up at a party production company. I think he's perfectly
- 12:12Speaker 3: fit where he's at and what he's doing.
- 12:26Speaker 2: We do have a kind of a random appearance from
- 12:31Speaker 2: GLEB Dance with the Stars. He comes in and so
- 12:36Speaker 2: Gleb is the referee of this game that they're playing.
- 12:39Speaker 2: The game really.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Doesn't the games are lackluster.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not why we're there, it's not what we're
- 12:44Speaker 2: here to talk about. But he's the referee of the game.
- 12:47Speaker 2: And then he joins everybody to villa. Later that evening,
- 12:50Speaker 2: he joins everybody after the host Adam tells the winning
- 12:53Speaker 2: team that they have this fancy dinner being made for them.
- 12:57Speaker 2: If the other team is going to be there their
- 12:59Speaker 2: butt for the evening. They're individual butlers to choose their butlers.
- 13:03Speaker 2: This is actually kind of fun to watch the I'll
- 13:06Speaker 2: give a lot of credit to the butlers for working
- 13:09Speaker 2: really hard at it. I also think there are some
- 13:13Speaker 2: funny moments. I don't know the guy's name, but he
- 13:16Speaker 2: like had his butler smack him and it was like.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Dylan had the butler was Nico.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like it was funny. I was giggling
- 13:25Speaker 2: during that when he was like making Nico do these
- 13:29Speaker 2: ridiculous things that did not cross the line. It did
- 13:31Speaker 2: not feel inappropriate, did not feel weird. It just felt hilarious.
- 13:35Speaker 2: And they're playing it up. I'd say all this to
- 13:38Speaker 2: say Gleb was the only one that was kind of
- 13:40Speaker 2: I don't know if you felt this way with Anna Delvey.
- 13:42Speaker 2: He was definitely trying to make a move there, for sure,
- 13:46Speaker 2: and it felt uncomfortable for whatever reason.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I don't think she was interested. And he was like
- 13:53Speaker 3: commenting on like he liked her costume and like, you know,
- 13:57Speaker 3: she looked good.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Which she did.
- 13:59Speaker 3: She did actually look really good in that little butlerrette costume.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I did find it enjoyable to watch her explaining to
- 14:09Speaker 3: her cast mates how she was able to get her
- 14:11Speaker 3: tights on with her ankle monitor.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it's she's she's really playing this up. I could
- 14:17Speaker 2: be controversial. She's grown on me during this show. Not
- 14:20Speaker 2: that I came into it with any other idea, but
- 14:22Speaker 2: she's been a character that has been funny, sweet.
- 14:25Speaker 4: That is controversial.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Is it just mean, you know, in the sense that
- 14:29Speaker 3: she's a fucking scam artist?
- 14:31Speaker 2: Well, but did she did? Okay? Let me ask you then,
- 14:35Speaker 2: in the same way, if you don't know anything else
- 14:38Speaker 2: about her, you watch her during this.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Yeah, you'd think she's like a a sweet foreign person
- 14:46Speaker 3: that you can't place their accent, and you would think,
- 14:49Speaker 3: you know, she's there to have fun.
- 14:51Speaker 4: She's there to have a good time.
- 14:53Speaker 2: She was not a dislike, like a hateable character.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I agree with you, no, but I know so it's
- 15:00Speaker 3: like it's a weird thing to say, right that we
- 15:02Speaker 3: like these controversial people that are on this show, But
- 15:07Speaker 3: that is part of that's part of this is like
- 15:11Speaker 3: they're clearly looking for some sort of redemption arc for
- 15:14Speaker 3: these people.
- 15:15Speaker 4: That's why they were cast.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's hard to dislike somebody wants you get
- 15:19Speaker 2: to know somebody, and this show, depending on what they
- 15:23Speaker 2: were out to get, it didn't bring out the crazy
- 15:28Speaker 2: or the messy side of really anybody because I think
- 15:33Speaker 2: it was only four days and yeah, they all seem
- 15:36Speaker 2: to like each other enough. And the only moment during
- 15:39Speaker 2: the whole season that felt like we were getting there
- 15:42Speaker 2: was this Globe Dakota conversation where they start to dive
- 15:45Speaker 2: into stuff that does feel very private, which there's a
- 15:49Speaker 2: lot of things that get these people into trouble, but
- 15:53Speaker 2: releasing private information, especially about like past x's in this
- 16:00Speaker 2: kind of format, does feel weird. And Gleb was very
- 16:03Speaker 2: open about his escapades and his encounters with who was it,
- 16:10Speaker 2: what was her name?
- 16:10Speaker 4: Brook Snater? Yeah, I mean, if anybody's kind of.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Followed this story. Brooks has been really really open. She
- 16:19Speaker 3: went on Watch What Happens Live not too long ago
- 16:22Speaker 3: and said that her and Gleb had sex the day
- 16:26Speaker 3: that they met. When they met as partners, they were like,
- 16:29Speaker 3: this is your partner, And she said on Watch What
- 16:31Speaker 3: Happens Live that they had sex that day. So it
- 16:35Speaker 3: was hot and heavy from the jump between them. But
- 16:39Speaker 3: then she came out after the they were eliminated and whatever,
- 16:43Speaker 3: and they were kind of still seeing each other. She
- 16:45Speaker 3: was the one who was out there saying he cheated
- 16:48Speaker 3: on me, like that's why it's over. And then she
- 16:52Speaker 3: got a reality show, which I can't speak to you
- 16:55Speaker 3: because I never watched it, but I did hear it
- 16:57Speaker 3: was really good. But I believe that she talked about
- 17:00Speaker 3: his cheating on that as well on her reality show
- 17:04Speaker 3: with her family. So yeah, he clearly came into this
- 17:08Speaker 3: with a full on vendetta of wanting to clear his
- 17:12Speaker 3: name and speak his piece.
- 17:15Speaker 4: On a platform.
- 17:16Speaker 3: And that's when he gets into it and says that
- 17:19Speaker 3: she was like the worst sex he ever had, and
- 17:22Speaker 3: she choked him and chipped one of his teeth when
- 17:25Speaker 3: they were making out. Yeah, but did you catch when
- 17:29Speaker 3: he said to Dakota that he knows Dakota's ex.
- 17:36Speaker 2: I didn't catch it.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah, So when they first start playing pool, he's like,
- 17:41Speaker 3: you're you're ex.
- 17:44Speaker 4: I did a show with her.
- 17:46Speaker 3: And so that leads us to believe that Gleb did
- 17:51Speaker 3: something on the season of The Bachelorette, which we're never
- 17:54Speaker 3: going to see now, maybe some sort of dance or something.
- 17:58Speaker 3: And then we just saw today Dumois posted a blind
- 18:02Speaker 3: item that they got about Taylor. Frankie Paul was supposed
- 18:07Speaker 3: to be on this quote unquote next season of Dancing
- 18:10Speaker 3: with the Stars and that is being pulled now and
- 18:14Speaker 3: they are looking at other options. But yeah, I thought
- 18:17Speaker 3: that was interesting, and I think that's why producers paired
- 18:20Speaker 3: them to have this conversation together around the pool table,
- 18:24Speaker 3: was because of that connection to Taylor, which, by the way,
- 18:28Speaker 3: for somebody not being on the show, Taylor is talked
- 18:32Speaker 3: about a lot, a lot.
- 18:35Speaker 2: A lot, And I mean, again, this is all conversations
- 18:39Speaker 2: happening before the end of February, so the latest incident
- 18:45Speaker 2: between Dakota and Taylor had not happened yet to our knowledge,
- 18:49Speaker 2: and so they're talking about it in this way of
- 18:52Speaker 2: her being the bachelorette and her being you know, Dakota's ex.
- 18:58Speaker 2: It's obviously something that it is discussed. It felt like
- 19:03Speaker 2: we were going to walk into a conversation that went
- 19:06Speaker 2: a little deeper dur in the club Dakota stuff. I'm
- 19:09Speaker 2: surprised that conversation even existed in this format, you know,
- 19:13Speaker 2: if you and maybe he just wanted his chance to
- 19:16Speaker 2: speak about it, but it did. I mean, it's a
- 19:20Speaker 2: four episode YouTube show. It felt like he was looking
- 19:25Speaker 2: for any access point to really get this this out there,
- 19:28Speaker 2: and it took up a large portion of the episode.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean, they were clearly both there to
- 19:34Speaker 3: be like they both were like we've we've been talked
- 19:37Speaker 3: about in the press.
- 19:38Speaker 4: We're bad guys. Da da da dah.
- 19:40Speaker 3: But then they looked at each other and they were like,
- 19:42Speaker 3: we're kind of bad guys.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Like they did you see that?
- 19:45Speaker 2: They kind of like he was trying to hook up
- 19:48Speaker 2: with Anna Delves.
- 19:49Speaker 3: I mean, and Dakota's clearly kissing Hallie off camera while
- 19:55Speaker 3: also saying on camera to another person that he's in
- 19:59Speaker 3: a exclusive with air quotes situationship. So I mean, these guys,
- 20:07Speaker 3: Bless them, bless them both. They are there to clear
- 20:10Speaker 3: their names, and then they both kind of step in
- 20:13Speaker 3: it after and just kind of reaffirm what people have
- 20:16Speaker 3: said about them. But Dakota says that he is not
- 20:21Speaker 3: really like ever been over Taylor, and he says that
- 20:25Speaker 3: it's actually he never cheated on her, but that she's
- 20:29Speaker 3: the one who went and hooked up with another guy,
- 20:32Speaker 3: came back hooked up with Dakota and didn't tell him. Now,
- 20:36Speaker 3: if anybody's watched Secret Lives and Mormon Wives, we have
- 20:39Speaker 3: seen that scenario play out more.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Than once with Dakota being the one hooking up.
- 20:45Speaker 3: So this was a first time that I've heard as
- 20:48Speaker 3: a follower of this saga. It's the first time I've
- 20:52Speaker 3: ever heard that that Taylor was the one who went
- 20:54Speaker 3: and did that. Do I believe it? I think there's
- 20:57Speaker 3: a very high possibility. I've said it before. I think
- 21:00Speaker 3: that both of these people are toxic with each other,
- 21:02Speaker 3: and I think that there's a lot of blurred lines
- 21:06Speaker 3: and a lot of no hard boundaries between the two
- 21:10Speaker 3: of them. But we've seen play out on multiple seasons
- 21:13Speaker 3: of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and we've actually had
- 21:15Speaker 3: the women that Dakota has hooked up with they've come
- 21:19Speaker 3: on camera and talked about hooking.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Up with Dakota.
- 21:22Speaker 3: So it's like he says, and he says, I've It
- 21:26Speaker 3: doesn't mean I haven't made mistakes. I've made mistakes, but
- 21:30Speaker 3: I've never cheated. I've been labeled a serial cheater, and
- 21:33Speaker 3: I'm not a cheater.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Did you take Dakota's words as genuine when he sat
- 21:38Speaker 2: down in fronting camera and said, you know, he talked
- 21:40Speaker 2: about he does villainous things, he doesn't think he's a villain,
- 21:43Speaker 2: and then kind of talked about how he always finds
- 21:47Speaker 2: himself in these situations where there's no right move out
- 21:52Speaker 2: of them.
- 21:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't buy that.
- 21:57Speaker 2: You think he knows what he's doing.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I don't know if he's necessarily super cognizant of it,
- 22:02Speaker 3: But I think that people that are constantly in spirals
- 22:06Speaker 3: of chaos need to take a step back and look
- 22:09Speaker 3: at why does chaos always circle me? Why am I
- 22:12Speaker 3: always in situations that are sticky and difficult? Oh, the
- 22:16Speaker 3: common denominator is me, And you have to take some
- 22:19Speaker 3: accountability in that things don't just continue to happen to you.
- 22:23Speaker 3: You keep putting yourself in environments that can.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Be blurred easily.
- 22:28Speaker 3: You keep communicating with people in a way that, oh,
- 22:32Speaker 3: now it gets escalated. Why did it get escalated? Because
- 22:36Speaker 3: why did you start talking to that person? Like those
- 22:38Speaker 3: kinds of things. I don't, you know, believe in the
- 22:42Speaker 3: victim mentality of everything just happens to me. I don't
- 22:45Speaker 3: know why it happens to me.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I'm with you. You're not a therapist, so I don't
- 22:49Speaker 2: want you. Yeah, but what is that personality type? Because
- 22:53Speaker 2: it does seem like so many of these people do
- 22:56Speaker 2: that and they continue to make the mistake over and
- 22:58Speaker 2: over and over again and being it's actually interesting and
- 23:05Speaker 2: I don't know if there's a tie to this at all,
- 23:09Speaker 2: but there is this kind of vulnerable conversation that Huda
- 23:13Speaker 2: and Dakota have where they start talking about their upbringings
- 23:17Speaker 2: and how they both have issues with their parents, and
- 23:22Speaker 2: they like kind of joke about it, but you can
- 23:24Speaker 2: tell that it's actually a really beautiful moment where they're
- 23:27Speaker 2: like joking about rehab, but not joking about it like, oh,
- 23:30Speaker 2: you know that rehab. They're like, no, we've both been
- 23:32Speaker 2: there and we have our stuff and we you know,
- 23:35Speaker 2: we can't figure this thing out. And I actually found
- 23:38Speaker 2: it one of those good moments where like two people
- 23:40Speaker 2: who probably don't get vulnerable in that kind of way
- 23:43Speaker 2: very often were trying to get into that place where
- 23:45Speaker 2: they felt less alone. They did it. And I wonder if, like,
- 23:50Speaker 2: what is causing Dacoda to continue to make these decisions
- 23:54Speaker 2: and not pull himself out when he's obviously realizing that
- 23:57Speaker 2: he does it?
- 23:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean listen, I think think you could probably
- 24:00Speaker 3: draw a pairline parallel line to the fact that he
- 24:04Speaker 3: is an addict and he is a recovering addict. So
- 24:07Speaker 3: you know, again, I'm not a therapist or a doctor
- 24:10Speaker 3: or anything, but if you're constantly seeking some sort of
- 24:14Speaker 3: high or something when you are using, I think that
- 24:19Speaker 3: there's probably a high that you're probably chasing in life
- 24:23Speaker 3: when you're not using, and I think that that probably
- 24:26Speaker 3: manifests in other areas of your life.
- 24:39Speaker 2: You know. One of the things that I think this
- 24:41Speaker 2: show specifically has show me is the insecurities of those
- 24:44Speaker 2: who are beautiful people but also like beautiful physically but
- 24:50Speaker 2: also all trying to make life work. And you get
- 24:53Speaker 2: kind of this this inside look at some of their insecurities.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Right this show is one two ex Bose insecurities and
- 25:01Speaker 2: show them more than covering up make everybody look perfect.
- 25:06Speaker 2: And I think that's one thing that so many people
- 25:08Speaker 2: watching its need to realize is you know, yes, you
- 25:11Speaker 2: watch them and like the Louise of the world, right,
- 25:13Speaker 2: such a handsome dude and charismatic and loud, But in
- 25:17Speaker 2: a show like this, you start to see kind of
- 25:19Speaker 2: behind the scenes of what he's dealing with in life
- 25:22Speaker 2: and how he processes things. And I think you see
- 25:25Speaker 2: that with a lot of these characters.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Yeah, what did you think about seeing some of these
- 25:30Speaker 3: interactions between Louie and Hooda in these last two episodes.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I think they really like each other. I don't know
- 25:36Speaker 2: if Like, I don't know much about either of them
- 25:39Speaker 2: outside of what I've seen him on television, Uh huh,
- 25:41Speaker 2: but they're very protective or he is very protective of her.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Yeah, that felt a little red flaggy to.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Me, you know, Yeah, I could see that. I was
- 25:51Speaker 2: thinking about. I don't know how else to do it
- 25:53Speaker 2: other than to make parallels. I'm very protective of my wife. No, like,
- 25:58Speaker 2: if anybody hurts her, they're going to hear from me.
- 26:02Speaker 2: But if I was in a situation like this, I
- 26:04Speaker 2: would love her being on the other team, like I
- 26:06Speaker 2: am going to compete against her and love every second
- 26:10Speaker 2: of that, And I mean I don't necessarily I would
- 26:13Speaker 2: love the makeout moment for us to be on the
- 26:16Speaker 2: same team. But it felt a little bit too, like
- 26:20Speaker 2: almost like I'm trying to hold onto something so tight.
- 26:23Speaker 2: When the people I know who are married or who
- 26:27Speaker 2: have been along relationship, they have that protective instinct and
- 26:32Speaker 2: they love and they care, but they don't hold on
- 26:34Speaker 2: to it so tight that it is almost isolating the relationship.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it felt very when we're talking about insecurities like
- 26:45Speaker 3: that to me was just like waving a big insecure
- 26:49Speaker 3: flag above your head. If your girlfriend is on a
- 26:53Speaker 3: ice skating rink and can't hold her balance and another
- 26:57Speaker 3: man is just holding her hand guy her and you're
- 27:02Speaker 3: not jumping up to do it yourself, what is she
- 27:05Speaker 3: supposed to do? She was like, what did you want
- 27:06Speaker 3: me to do?
- 27:07Speaker 2: Like?
- 27:07Speaker 4: Fall down?
- 27:08Speaker 3: It's like there was He was just like, and who
- 27:12Speaker 3: knows how much he was playing that up, But I was.
- 27:14Speaker 4: Like, it's not like a good look.
- 27:17Speaker 3: That's kind of like icky, and like there's you can
- 27:20Speaker 3: see with your own eyes that nothing is happening here.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Your girlfriend's about to faceplant onto an ice rink. If
- 27:27Speaker 3: somebody doesn't guide her, she can't skate.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess teach their own. But I would not
- 27:33Speaker 2: have a problem with somebody helping Jessica ice skate because
- 27:36Speaker 2: I know if I grabbed her hand on the ice
- 27:38Speaker 2: skating rink, we'd both be falling down and that would
- 27:40Speaker 2: not be fun for anybody. Yeah, it's the confidence too,
- 27:44Speaker 2: and just knowing your relationship and knowing your partner. And
- 27:47Speaker 2: I do think they both come from a world where
- 27:49Speaker 2: there is temptation and there is there's a lack of
- 27:53Speaker 2: boundaries necessarily set for probably either of them, and there
- 27:57Speaker 2: is probably this concern with you know, it's probably the
- 28:01Speaker 2: only way they know how to navigate or he knows
- 28:03Speaker 2: how to navigate a relationship is by having that like
- 28:07Speaker 2: kind of overbearing grip, and that isn't healthy. Let me
- 28:10Speaker 2: tell you. It's exhausting, probably for both of them, and
- 28:12Speaker 2: it's not healthy. But the two of them, I guess
- 28:15Speaker 2: to answer it. Outside of all of that, if it's
- 28:17Speaker 2: healthy or not. They do seem to really like each other.
- 28:20Speaker 2: They do.
- 28:21Speaker 4: They do seem to really like each other, and.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Maybe they're a match made.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Maybe they both.
- 28:25Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like I kind of know Louis
- 28:28Speaker 3: a little bit from watching Perfect Match. I feel like
- 28:30Speaker 3: I know Huda a lot more from watching her on
- 28:33Speaker 3: Love Island, just because it's every single day. It's I mean,
- 28:37Speaker 3: it's a very big commitment when you commit to watching
- 28:40Speaker 3: an entire season, So I feel like I know her
- 28:43Speaker 3: super well. She's a single mom, which came up so
- 28:46Speaker 3: much on Love Island and has really not been talked about,
- 28:51Speaker 3: and which is crazy because she had a very viral
- 28:54Speaker 3: moment on Love Island for being like, I'm a mommy,
- 28:58Speaker 3: and it went like on TikTok and everybody being like
- 29:01Speaker 3: Mamasita and she's like, no, I'm a mom and the
- 29:05Speaker 3: guy goes, I'm a dog.
- 29:07Speaker 4: No I have a baby, like I have a child.
- 29:10Speaker 3: It's just like one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
- 29:13Speaker 3: He goes, she goes, I'm a mommy, and he goes, Maasita.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Oh so she is a single mom And I'm actually surprised,
- 29:21Speaker 3: Yeah that that hasn't come up more in this in
- 29:25Speaker 3: these episodes, but who cares.
- 29:27Speaker 4: I guess they don't care.
- 29:28Speaker 2: The overall season ended with the Purple team winning. They
- 29:33Speaker 2: win in the midst of this competition that has a
- 29:36Speaker 2: bunch of challenges to it. They're really The one too
- 29:40Speaker 2: that stands out is the makeout challenge where Joe and
- 29:42Speaker 2: Serena and then also de May Demi and her husband
- 29:47Speaker 2: steps in out of nowhere. I don't know where he
- 29:49Speaker 2: came from. Well, because they filmed this in Utah, remember,
- 29:53Speaker 2: so he came to watch and she was gonna make
- 29:55Speaker 2: out with the girl. She was out there to make
- 29:57Speaker 2: out with the girl. And he steps in and goes, no,
- 29:58Speaker 2: make out with me. But Joe and Serena and the
- 30:01Speaker 2: two of them have this makeout contest. Joe and Serena
- 30:06Speaker 2: really show up, and they show up big time in it.
- 30:08Speaker 2: They go all out. It is cute, It is fun cute.
- 30:13Speaker 3: It was whoa, It was hair flipping, it was like writing, straddling,
- 30:19Speaker 3: switching positions, spread legs.
- 30:22Speaker 2: I mean, it's true, it was a lot.
- 30:25Speaker 3: I mean if you were in their situation, would you
- 30:30Speaker 3: have outperformed them?
- 30:31Speaker 4: Would you have felt comfortable doing something like that?
- 30:33Speaker 2: No, my wife would never have been like, that's not her, No,
- 30:37Speaker 2: that's not her.
- 30:38Speaker 3: They seemed game, they both, But also I feel like
- 30:42Speaker 3: Serena was really like leading this whole like the action.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because Joe is like just gonna sit there and
- 30:49Speaker 2: enjoy it.
- 30:50Speaker 4: He looked like.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Kind of shocked when they like were switching like spots
- 30:54Speaker 3: like whoa, Like we're doing this, We're going for it it.
- 30:59Speaker 2: For whatever reason, I found it cute. I think it's
- 31:02Speaker 2: amazing when married couples go all out like this.
- 31:04Speaker 3: I was like looking at like this, like I don't
- 31:06Speaker 3: know if I should be seeing this is so much?
- 31:09Speaker 3: And then I was like what if I see them?
- 31:12Speaker 3: Like what if I see them in real life?
- 31:13Speaker 2: Like?
- 31:14Speaker 4: Am I going to be thinking about this.
- 31:16Speaker 2: One hundred percent? And you should tell them? All I
- 31:17Speaker 2: can think about is seeing the two of you do
- 31:19Speaker 2: what you did on Unwell Winter Games, I'm going to
- 31:22Speaker 2: I'm gonna see Joe in a few weeks. I'm gonna
- 31:24Speaker 2: say Joe, I've seen the way you two operate, and
- 31:27Speaker 2: I bet his response to me is we don't operate
- 31:29Speaker 2: like that even I can.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Sue was like, oh, is this supposed to be like
- 31:34Speaker 3: a porno Guys, if you haven't watched like it was
- 31:37Speaker 3: giving porno.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good for the married couple keep things spicy
- 31:42Speaker 2: in the relationship for as long as you can. It's healthy,
- 31:45Speaker 2: it's it's it makes things fun for the fifty sixty
- 31:50Speaker 2: years you're going to be together. So true. I'm all
- 31:53Speaker 2: for it, fully support it. So that was the big moment.
- 31:57Speaker 2: And then as the Purple Team ends, they sell Break,
- 32:00Speaker 2: the whole cast celebrates together and they talk about how
- 32:02Speaker 2: great this show was and how was the best few
- 32:04Speaker 2: days of their life and all this stuff, and they
- 32:06Speaker 2: do it at the Vida Tequila Lounge. It's owned by
- 32:09Speaker 2: a real housewife of Salt Lake City member Lisa Barlow.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and I just had to say the second they
- 32:15Speaker 3: showed the sign, I went, no, they're not at.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Vida Tequila, Like, why do I know that?
- 32:20Speaker 3: Because I know because Lisa talks about it in every
- 32:24Speaker 3: single episode that she can.
- 32:26Speaker 4: She mentions her tequila brand.
- 32:27Speaker 3: They shoot real housewives there, and so I was like, Oh,
- 32:30Speaker 3: I've seen this lounge. I know this lounge, Like, this
- 32:33Speaker 3: is where Lisa loves to hang out.
- 32:34Speaker 4: You know, her life.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Fans listening, Lisa's life is so different from everybody else's
- 32:39Speaker 3: life because she hangs out with Ben Affleck. It's a joke,
- 32:42Speaker 3: that's what she says. Her life is not different. But
- 32:46Speaker 3: I was absolutely gagged, as the kids would say when
- 32:50Speaker 3: she popped up at the end, very end of the
- 32:52Speaker 3: episode and was taking pictures with Cameron, who was also gagged.
- 32:56Speaker 2: So good in Vita Tequila. I know, beat it tequila. Yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 2: it's a pretty big brand. Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 3: I mean she she lives a way different life than
- 33:06Speaker 3: all of us, This Lisa Marlow. That's what she likes
- 33:08Speaker 3: to remind us. Yeah, tequila, and that's her lounge. And
- 33:14Speaker 3: yeah she does it with her husband. I'm sure they
- 33:17Speaker 3: have other investors. I'm sure that's not like a soul
- 33:20Speaker 3: owned shousness.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Well, they get to celebrate at Vita Tequila. They look
- 33:24Speaker 2: like they're having a great time. Heather, as we close
- 33:28Speaker 2: out the breakdown of episodes one through four, I don't
- 33:30Speaker 2: know if we will talk if we will ever talk
- 33:32Speaker 2: about this show again on the Almost Famous podcast, because
- 33:35Speaker 2: who knows if Bachelor Nation will be a part of it.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I will be honest. I started the breakdowns of these
- 33:41Speaker 2: episodes by saying, this isn't for me, Heather, I really
- 33:44Speaker 2: don't want to do this, and after four episodes I
- 33:48Speaker 2: felt very similarly to how I feel watching Perfect Match.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Interesting didn't hate it. I would never choose and like,
- 33:57Speaker 2: I'm not going to go out to watch the second
- 33:58Speaker 2: season if we don't have too. But it wasn't bad.
- 34:03Speaker 2: It was an intriguing watch at times for me.
- 34:08Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna say I didn't like it.
- 34:13Speaker 3: I feel again I said this last time, but after
- 34:16Speaker 3: having watched Love Overboard, which I felt was super engaging
- 34:20Speaker 3: and interesting and I loved the concept that was so
- 34:23Speaker 3: much fun for me, and also having watched like Perfect Match,
- 34:30Speaker 3: which I also found very fun and silly. This to me,
- 34:34Speaker 3: the had such a lack of structure, and I think
- 34:38Speaker 3: that the moments that went on too long went on
- 34:41Speaker 3: too long, and it just didn't hold my attention. And
- 34:46Speaker 3: as well, I thought the casting was fairly good, like
- 34:49Speaker 3: as soon as we knew the concept was to cast
- 34:51Speaker 3: people that were controversial, I was like, okay, I get
- 34:54Speaker 3: this now.
- 34:55Speaker 4: I just it didn't hold my attention.
- 34:57Speaker 2: It was I think one of the benefits was it
- 35:01Speaker 2: was such a short episode, one hundred percent it being short.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I also just think that you're shooting Winter Games in Utah,
- 35:09Speaker 3: and overall, I would say majority of the show was
- 35:13Speaker 3: shot inside the chalet, so I wish that there was
- 35:16Speaker 3: like more actual Winter and Games incorporated but that's just
- 35:22Speaker 3: probably me being nitpicky.
- 35:24Speaker 2: The games were definitely low budget. I think the hockey
- 35:27Speaker 2: they had like a hockey scene and to get your
- 35:29Speaker 2: hockey shot, you hit like one of those two dollars
- 35:32Speaker 2: lights that you stick underneath your counter.
- 35:34Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean just the whole show just overall was
- 35:37Speaker 4: low budget.
- 35:38Speaker 3: I mean we could you know where the budget went
- 35:40Speaker 3: to the alcohol because taught we discussed this the last time.
- 35:44Speaker 3: We weren't sure if they had a two drink maximum
- 35:47Speaker 3: or anything like that. Clearly they did not. They were
- 35:49Speaker 3: drinking at all hours of the day and night, these peeps.
- 35:53Speaker 3: So yeah, I think that's where the budget went was too,
- 35:57Speaker 3: was to the alcohol and maybe to those snowsuits that
- 35:59Speaker 3: they were all wearing throughout.
- 36:01Speaker 2: The show, the Butler costumes, the Butler costumes. Yeah, well

- 36:11Speaker 2: She makes a few appearances during this season. You know,
- 36:16Speaker 2: outside of the controversy of the cast, she had some
- 36:19Speaker 2: very well known people on this cast, and she convinced
- 36:23Speaker 2: them to come to Utah to do winter sports for
- 36:26Speaker 2: a few days. And that included Joe and Serena, who
- 36:29Speaker 2: are part of Alex Cooper's network now hosting a show.
- 36:34Speaker 2: It's Our Breakdown, Take it or leave it. This is
- 36:37Speaker 2: not a show that the Almost Famous Podcast is going

- 36:49Speaker 2: had their moment in the final episode as the two
- 36:52Speaker 2: of them, you know, did like the teenage makeout session.
- 37:00Speaker 3: We should also mention Ben that for all that they did,
- 37:03Speaker 3: they didn't even win the challenge. Serrito was really pissed
- 37:07Speaker 3: about that.
- 37:08Speaker 2: That's a good point. Too bad. Well, hey it's out there,
- 37:11Speaker 2: so at least people know they're still in love. This
