- 0:38SPEAKER_01: We don't need a perfect reason.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to the No Cry Zone, where we focus on positive change that is doable and durable.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Our intro song today is You and Me in Morocco by Brazen Kandor.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: You can download many of their newer drops as well as their first album on Spotify and many other music sources.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: I am Jim Best and I am in Morocco.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Fez this morning, but I, like you, never really leave the no cry zone.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: So let's get right into it.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: A lot of people are trying to change their lives by changing their outcomes.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: There's a much better way.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Outcomes don't change in a lasting way until identity changes.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: But you know that.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Identity doesn't change through declarations or affirmations.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: It changes through selection, rehearsal, and reinforcement.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: That's what we're doing here.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: We're not asking, what do I want to achieve?
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: We are asking, who do I want to become?
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Who do I want to be seen as?
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: How do I want to act?
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: And what do I want to be known as by myself and others?
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Because once that answer is clear, behavior follows.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And today I'm giving you ten of the most universally admirable qualities, not as a list to admire, but as a menu to choose from.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: And I'll give you just an idea on this.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: I think a lot of times we uh end up being in roles in lives just because momentum takes us there.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: And it's not necessarily momentum that we've achieved.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: It can be the momentum of social interaction, what our family expects, etc.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: So I'll give you an example.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Self-discipline, I didn't know that that was a quality that you could embrace and learn, frankly.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: I thought it was a quality that we had or didn't have.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And uh, as a result of my understanding that it's a quality that we can learn and groom and uh foster in ourselves, I've become much more disciplined in what I do.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Uh certainly there are times when I choose to be more spontaneous and less disciplined, but it's a skill now that I have.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: And many of these qualities that we're going to focus on in the no-cry zone are exactly the same in terms of what they can return to you once you decide to embrace them.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: So the first one we'll cover is reliability.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: This is underrated and foundational.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Doing what you said you would do, following through, being counted on, reliability builds trust equity, and trust is the currency of relationships, leadership, and opportunity.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: If your self-image becomes I am someone who follows through, you don't need motivation.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: You act accordingly.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Second is emotional control, not suppression of emotions, but control.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: You feel everything, but you choose what to express when and how.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Most people are ruled by their reactions, governed by their emotions.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Admiral people are governed by their standards.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: This is power without the noise.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Third is courage, not fearlessness, movement, action despite fear.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: Courage shows up in conversations that you avoid at one time.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Decisions delayed, or actions that were postponed.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: When your identity becomes, I act even when it's uncomfortable, you expand your life dramatically.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: Fourth is kindness without an agenda, not strategic kindness, not transactional, just being a net positive because that's who you are.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: This is one of your cornerstone philosophies, and it belongs here.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Kindness done right as strength, not softness.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Clarity of thought, and this is rare.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Most people operate in emotional fog, vague language, and borrowed opinions.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Admirable people think clearly, they name things accurately.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Mental precision is what we've been calling it.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: It's a differentiator.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Clarity leads to better decisions.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Better decisions lead to better lives.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Sixth admirable quality.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Self-respect.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: This is not your ego, this is alignment.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: You don't tolerate what violates your standards.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: You don't abandon yourself to please anybody else.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Self-respect is quiet, but it's unmistakable, and it teaches others how to treat you.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Seventh quality is consistency, not perfection, but consistency, showing up again and again and again.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: Most people fail not because they lack ability, but because they lack repeatability.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Consistency compounds into identity faster than intensity ever will.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Eighth admirable quality, accountability.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: No excuses, no deflection.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: You own your outcomes, even when they're uncomfortable.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Accountability is where growth accelerates because the moment you say, This is mine, I am responsible, I am accountable, you gain the power to change the outcome.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Ninth admirable quality is optimism.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Grounded, not naive.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: You're not being Pollyanna here.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: This is not blind positivity.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: It's the belief that effort matters, that outcomes can improve, that you can make a difference.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Optimism fuels action.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Pessimism justifies inaction.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: And here's the key optimism is not a mood, it's a decision framework.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Tenth admirable quality, and something that I was taught early, early, early on in my career.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Initiative.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: I had a manager who would tell me continually, seize the initiative.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: This one separates people.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: You don't wait.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: You don't need to be told, you move, you take effective action.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Initiative turns ideas into reality, conversations into opportunities, and moments into momentum.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: It that is initiative is the engine of everything else.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: So let's bring it together.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Now here's what most people miss.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: They hear a list like this and think, I should try to be all of these.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: No, that's vague and ineffective.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Instead, select two to three of these qualities that you want to focus on that you feel will make a difference in your self-reliance.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Not because they're the best, but because they are the most strategically useful for your next level.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: And then you do something critical.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: You install them into your self-image, not with affirmations that feel false, but with language like I'm becoming someone who follows through.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: I'm learning to act even when it's uncomfortable.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: I operate with clarity and accountability.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: Then take action that supports that new language.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: This aligns with self-image shaping.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: It works when it doesn't trigger disbelief.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: Now rehearsal leads to evidence, leads to identity.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: That's the mechanism we're talking about today in the no-cry zone.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: You don't wait to feel like this person, you rehearse it.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: You create small, undeniable evidence for yourself.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: You follow through once, then again.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: You pause before reacting, then respond accordingly.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: You take one uncomfortable action and in doing so bring more things into your comfort zone.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Each time you reinforce, that's who I'm becoming.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: That's who I am now.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: That's how your identity shifts.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Not through intensity, not through faking it, but through consistent, believable proof.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: Now, why this re matters for reflection power day?
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Let's connect this to that important day, March 31st, Reflection Power Day.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: Most people approach reflection as observation.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: You're doing something far more powerful.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: You are reconstructing your self-image intentionally.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: You are discarding outdated identities, such as I'm inconsistent, I avoid hard things, I get overwhelmed, I don't like conflict, and replacing them with chosen qualities backed by effective action.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: This is not self-help as most people think.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: This is self-authorship.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: So let's close here with an assignment, and that's the most fun part of the no-cry zone.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Don't overthink this.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Pick two or three qualities from this list, write them down, and then ask yourself what would someone with identity do today?
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Then do one small version of that.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: That's the assignment.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: That's how it works.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: No drama, no excuses, just effective action.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Because in a no-cry zone, we don't wait to feel ready.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: We decide who we are becoming and we act accordingly.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Join us March 31st, Power Reflection Day.

- 11:37SPEAKER_01: If we could speak if we can live it, why would we delay?

- 11:47SPEAKER_01: What a wonderful plan.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Don't baby stop tomorrow.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Just today, I can't make a go.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: Baby is the square.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: Baby is green.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Copy on the rooftop morning.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: Copy to the air.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Every step becomes a story.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: Every glance we're not scared.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Don't take every detail, don't step and get to what we still do.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Where we dog gets we do, don't make it one and one and go.
- 13:10SPEAKER_01: How many dances do we don't ignore?
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: You mean a morato.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: What a beautiful stamp.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Choose a life in the moment with the day in our hands.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: You and me a morato.
