- 0:38SPEAKER_09: Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 0:40SPEAKER_09: Or Mike.
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: I think he was imitating rerun from uh what's happening.
- 0:44SPEAKER_09: I'm sure he was, but that's how we used to.

- 0:57SPEAKER_09: As I dig out my phone.
- 0:59SPEAKER_09: Not sure why.
- 0:59SPEAKER_09: I just don't want it in my pocket.
- 1:02SPEAKER_09: Um Wow, do we have a lot to talk about?
- 1:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:06SPEAKER_09: Wow.
- 1:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:07SPEAKER_09: Wow, wow, wow, wow.
- 1:09SPEAKER_09: We are recording this on Tuesday, uh, June 9th, uh, 2026, two days ago, um the world started over again.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: It was a reset.
- 1:22SPEAKER_03: The great reset.
- 1:24SPEAKER_09: And and and so I I I know you are the the rush guy.
- 1:32SPEAKER_09: Okay?
- 1:32SPEAKER_09: I am not the rush guy.
- 1:35SPEAKER_09: Um I just want to talk about how they did this and the build-up to it and the choice they made, and how if it wasn't planned, then it was the greatest stroke of luck uh in rock and roll.
- 1:59SPEAKER_09: And if it was planned, it was the greatest stroke of genius in rock and roll.
- 2:04SPEAKER_09: And here's what I mean.
- 2:07SPEAKER_09: So by now everybody and their mother has seen footage of the first show on the Rush tour, the 50-something tour with Annika Niles on drums.
- 2:21SPEAKER_09: So when they announced um how long ago was it?
- 2:27SPEAKER_09: A year?
- 2:28SPEAKER_09: Six months?
- 2:29SPEAKER_09: Nine months?
- 2:31SPEAKER_09: I think it was last year, right?
- 2:32SPEAKER_09: It was a year.
- 2:33SPEAKER_09: When she was announced as as the new drummer.
- 2:36SPEAKER_09: Which is no small task.
- 2:39SPEAKER_09: Because you're you're you're replacing or or I can't say replacing.
- 2:45SPEAKER_09: You're paying tribute to probably, arguably, I mean I mean you could argue about it, but you'd probably be wrong.
- 2:53SPEAKER_09: The greatest drummer in rock and roll history.
- 2:57SPEAKER_09: To this point.
- 2:58SPEAKER_03: To this point, yes.
- 2:59SPEAKER_09: That would be Neil Peart of Rush, who passed away in 2020.
- 3:03SPEAKER_03: 2020, yeah.
- 3:04SPEAKER_09: Um and so if you don't know the story, I think you probably do if you listen to this podcast.
- 3:11SPEAKER_09: Um they had done their farewell tour.
- 3:14SPEAKER_09: Neil Peart, shortly thereafter, became sick with brain cancer, passed away in 2020.
- 3:20SPEAKER_09: Getty, uh actually kind of took everybody by surprise.
- 3:23SPEAKER_09: Uh, I think Getty and Alex probably knew it um before anybody, obviously.
- 3:29SPEAKER_09: Uh he passed away.
- 3:31SPEAKER_09: And so Eddie and Alex, Eddie and Alex.
- 3:34SPEAKER_09: Getty and Alex, sorry.
- 3:36SPEAKER_09: Close enough.
- 3:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 3:37SPEAKER_09: That's stupid.
- 3:38SPEAKER_09: I'm the Van Halen guy, you're the rush guy.
- 3:39SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 3:40SPEAKER_09: Um decided that they weren't going to uh they weren't going to play anymore.
- 3:46SPEAKER_09: I mean they're gonna play, but they're gonna play with other people or do other things.
- 3:48SPEAKER_09: Getty wrote a book.
- 3:51SPEAKER_09: Um Alex played started a new band.
- 3:53SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 3:54SPEAKER_09: Um and then they announced that they missed it.
- 3:58SPEAKER_09: They missed the music and they wanted to kind of try and recapture that magic.
- 4:03SPEAKER_09: Neil would have wanted the music to go on, so on and so forth.
- 4:08SPEAKER_09: And so I think y you tell me if I'm wrong.
- 4:11SPEAKER_09: I think I've heard this.
- 4:12SPEAKER_09: You're wrong.
- 4:13SPEAKER_09: I think I've heard this.
- 4:15SPEAKER_09: That as soon as uh n uh Neil Peart passed, a lot of people lobbied for the drumming position.
- 4:22SPEAKER_03: Oh, I'm sure well, I mean it was out of I'm sure it wasn't like the next day.
- 4:26SPEAKER_03: Right, no, right, right.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: You know, but I'm sure I mean they waited up on appropriate.
- 4:30SPEAKER_09: Right, right.
- 4:31SPEAKER_09: But there were some I think that I w was described as poor taste, you know, when they were you know.
- 4:36SPEAKER_09: Um but they said they weren't gonna do it, and then they then they decided they were gonna do it, and they announced that they were going to have Annika Niles as the drummer, and we're like, who?
- 4:49SPEAKER_09: And you know, you do a little research and she's a great drummer.
- 4:53SPEAKER_09: But and here's the reason why this has hit me so hard.
- 4:57SPEAKER_09: And I'm telling you, Doug, for the past two days I've just had a just a grin on my face.
- 5:01SPEAKER_09: The you know, I've just been happy, and my wife is and I had to explain it to my wife, and she, of course, I'm I'm glad you're happy.
- 5:08SPEAKER_09: You know, she doesn't get it.
- 5:10SPEAKER_09: She doesn't get it.
- 5:10SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 5:11SPEAKER_09: She doesn't get it.
- 5:12SPEAKER_09: Um so when it was announced, they're like, Yeah, she's good, but there's no way that she can handle all of Neil Peart's drum parts.
- 5:24SPEAKER_09: You know, she'll probably make it her her her own, which it is her right to do.
- 5:29SPEAKER_09: Sure.
- 5:30SPEAKER_09: Um but she wa she is not a Neil Peart.
- 5:33SPEAKER_09: Listen, nobody is a Neil Peart.
- 5:34SPEAKER_17: No.
- 5:35SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 5:36SPEAKER_09: Uh but she won't be able to uh she won't be able to to live up to it, I guess.
- 5:43SPEAKER_09: And so they announce that she's the drummer.
- 5:48SPEAKER_09: And then I don't know, six months later they announce all these tour dates.
- 5:52SPEAKER_09: We're like, whoa, this is serious.
- 5:54SPEAKER_09: People are excited.
- 5:57SPEAKER_09: Then they start adding the tour dates.
- 6:00SPEAKER_09: And the 50-something tour is expanding.
- 6:04SPEAKER_09: And I think they even added more tour dates.
- 6:06SPEAKER_09: I don't I don't know how many times they did that, but so the anticipation is growing, and also the naysayers are growing.
- 6:15SPEAKER_09: This is never gonna work.
- 6:16SPEAKER_09: There are some people that you know were obviously supportive, most people were supportive, but then they on Sunday they opened the tour in Los Angeles.
- 6:30SPEAKER_05: Excuse me.
- 6:31SPEAKER_09: Sorry.
- 6:33SPEAKER_03: It's this time.
- 6:34SPEAKER_03: Wait, wait, wait a yeah, with a mute button about it.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 6:41SPEAKER_03: You beat it and everything like brrrrrrrr.
- 6:43SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 6:44SPEAKER_09: Um anyway, I saw her completely kill it.
- 6:53SPEAKER_09: I mean, she owned those songs.
- 6:58SPEAKER_09: She owned that drum kit.
- 7:00SPEAKER_09: She had a she had a tribute to she, I think she had was it uh um Neil Pearce drums?
- 7:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, on the on the on the drum riser.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:08SPEAKER_09: Um and it was so tasteful and classy and just kick ass.
- 7:16SPEAKER_09: I'm sorry.
- 7:17SPEAKER_09: It w it was.
- 7:18SPEAKER_09: I mean, the the footage is all over the internet, all over social media, everywhere.
- 7:23SPEAKER_09: If you think I'm kidding, go find it.
- 7:24SPEAKER_09: Just look up Annika Niles, and you will see a consummate professional and an amazing drummer do what she does.
- 7:36SPEAKER_09: And Neil Peart is smiling in heaven.
- 7:41SPEAKER_09: I that's all I can say.
- 7:42SPEAKER_09: And it had this residual effect.
- 7:45SPEAKER_09: This is why I think it was genius.
- 7:47SPEAKER_09: I don't know that they planned this, they probably thought about it and thought it would be an ine inevitable, but I am a casual rush fan.
- 7:57SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 7:58SPEAKER_09: You are a like deep cut, you know, true blue, diehard rush fan.
- 8:07SPEAKER_09: I know the hits.
- 8:08SPEAKER_09: Or the big songs.
- 8:09SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 8:11SPEAKER_09: When I saw what Annika and and then you know, it's not just I saw her drumming, I saw footage of of the uh the opening.
- 8:19SPEAKER_09: You know, because it's on YouTube.
- 8:21SPEAKER_09: Somebody recorded it and the whole concert is on YouTube.
- 8:23SPEAKER_09: Oh, sure.
- 8:24SPEAKER_09: And I saw the opening and the skits that they have on the video with South Park and with the band and and with uh Paul Rudd and um Jason Seagull Jason Siegel.
- 8:35SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 8:35SPEAKER_09: Uh the way it was put together was came from such a happy place and just uh just a you know the right place.
- 8:46SPEAKER_09: And I watched that, I watched the whole show, uh, and I was like, this is this is unbelievable.
- 8:55SPEAKER_09: So I listened to I I went and on on Spotify, sorry, and listened to Rush and just hit random shuffle, whatever.
- 9:08SPEAKER_09: And I heard songs I've never heard before.
- 9:12SPEAKER_09: And was completely freaking blown away.
- 9:16SPEAKER_09: You know, I like progressive rock.
- 9:19SPEAKER_09: It's not my you know not your thing.
- 9:22SPEAKER_09: It's not my thing.
- 9:24SPEAKER_09: But you know, when you're only exposed to Tom Sawyer and Spirit of Radio and Why, you know, and I was in radio I was in radio for 25 years, right?
- 9:34SPEAKER_09: When you're only exposed to those things, those songs, you don't see what an amazing talented band they really are.
- 9:44SPEAKER_09: Um and so Annika Niles did that for me, you know.
- 9:51SPEAKER_09: And I think I wouldn't be alone if somebody sees all this interest in Rush all of a sudden.
- 9:56SPEAKER_09: Well, why why are people listening to Rush?
- 9:57SPEAKER_09: All of a sudden, I'm gonna I'm gonna listen to it.
- 9:59SPEAKER_09: Oh hey, this is pretty good.
- 10:01SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 10:02SPEAKER_09: And so it's it can only mean good things for the band.
- 10:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 10:06SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 10:07SPEAKER_09: Uh and now I really want to go to a show.
- 10:10SPEAKER_03: I really want to sell your house.
- 10:12SPEAKER_09: I know, right?
- 10:13SPEAKER_03: Sell your car.
- 10:14SPEAKER_03: Tickets are really good.
- 10:15SPEAKER_09: Maybe you can.
- 10:15SPEAKER_09: Maybe you can get one in the nosebleeds.
- 10:17SPEAKER_09: This is pr would you say this is probably the last?
- 10:21SPEAKER_09: I mean, they're both tour?
- 10:23SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_09: Eddie and Alex or Eddie.
- 10:25SPEAKER_09: Getty and Alex.
- 10:26SPEAKER_09: Getty.
- 10:26SPEAKER_09: Getty Getty and Alex are 72, both of them.
- 10:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 10:31SPEAKER_09: Uh, I don't know how old Annika is.
- 10:33SPEAKER_03: She's probably 40.
- 10:35SPEAKER_03: Later, late 30s, early 40s.
- 10:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: I would say I would if I had to guess.
- 10:40SPEAKER_09: I wonder if I can I wonder if I can look that up while I'm right here.
- 10:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, I'm sure.
- 10:43SPEAKER_03: I'm sure she's got her own uh fan pages as name.
- 10:46SPEAKER_09: Oh, you gotta think she does, right?
- 10:48SPEAKER_09: Let's see.
- 10:49SPEAKER_09: Um while you're doing that, I want you to I want you to hear this.
- 10:56SPEAKER_09: I probably have already heard it, but yeah, go ahead.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: Uh it's her doing Bytorn the Snow Dog.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: Oh no, I saw a clip of it.
- 11:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I did see a clip of it.
- 11:05SPEAKER_09: You got it ready to go.
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's yeah.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: Uh it's it's almost perfect.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: Perfectly done.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: It's it's she fits in so well.
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: Um and Well, I mean, it's not hard when you're dealing with Getty and I was just gonna say because they're just like regular guys.
- 12:02SPEAKER_09: They're regular guys, and not only that, did you see the smiles on their faces?
- 12:05SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they're they're having a blow.
- 12:08SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 12:08SPEAKER_09: Um Annika is 43.
- 12:11SPEAKER_17: Okay, that makes sense.
- 12:12SPEAKER_17: 43 years old.
- 12:13SPEAKER_09: Um from Germany, by the way.
- 12:15SPEAKER_09: And so I just want to read this from Mike Portnoy.
- 12:19SPEAKER_09: Have you have you read this yet?
- 12:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 12:21SPEAKER_09: You have, okay.
- 12:21SPEAKER_09: But I I just think it's worth sharing because Mike Portnoy is one of the greatest.
- 12:26SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean he progressive driver.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: I mean, he was the heir apparent.
- 12:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah, he was in line.
- 12:29SPEAKER_09: You know, you know, to to replace Neil Portno.
- 12:31SPEAKER_03: I would be you know, if I had to pick somebody to take Neil's place, it would have been him.
- 12:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 12:35SPEAKER_03: If I you know, if it was up to me, I would have Mike.
- 12:38SPEAKER_09: So Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater uh posted so many feelings and emotions today.
- 12:43SPEAKER_09: I wasn't there in person last night, but like so many of us around the world, I was glued to YouTube all night long.
- 12:48SPEAKER_09: I watched the RushCon live stream in real time for the entire show as it was happening, as well as getting play-by-play text from my buddy Chris Jericho, who was there in attendance last night.
- 12:58SPEAKER_09: What you just played, by the way, um that's my favorite part is when she does something like that and the crowd just loses it.
- 13:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:04SPEAKER_09: That's my favorite part.
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: Because that's they're that's what they expect.
- 13:07SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: You know, it's like, oh, is Neil back?
- 13:10SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 13:10SPEAKER_09: You know.
- 13:11SPEAKER_09: Uh let's see.
- 13:13SPEAKER_09: Uh, what can I say that hasn't been written already by everybody online today?
- 13:17SPEAKER_09: It was magical.
- 13:18SPEAKER_09: The set list was absolutely perfect, and to think they still have around three other variations up their sleeves to come.
- 13:24SPEAKER_09: Uh, Annika absolutely killed it in the best way imaginable.
- 13:28SPEAKER_09: I was so happy for her nailing all of the big Neil moments with a giant smile on her face the whole time.
- 13:34SPEAKER_09: She really is the perfect choice for this.
- 13:36SPEAKER_09: The tributes to Neil throughout the show were so tasteful and emotional.
- 13:39SPEAKER_09: Yes, I'll admit, I cried at a few points.
- 13:41SPEAKER_09: The production was absolutely insane.
- 13:44SPEAKER_09: Major props to Howard Ungerleader.
- 13:46SPEAKER_09: And most importantly of all, I am so happy for Getty and Alex to be able to do this again.
- 13:51SPEAKER_09: Seeing this tour come to life, it's very obvious the need it needed to happen.
- 13:56SPEAKER_09: As not only a proper tribute to Neil, but most importantly to honor the legacy of this band.
- 14:01SPEAKER_09: Getty and Alex deserve it, and the fans deserve it as well.
- 14:04SPEAKER_09: Still trying to figure out which show I will be able to attend, likely New York City or Philly, but I will be counting the days until I can witness this in person and soak up every single moment.
- 14:13SPEAKER_09: Welcome back, Rush.
- 14:15SPEAKER_09: That is that sums it up.
- 14:17SPEAKER_09: I mean, that's um like I said, I'm I may not be a huge follower of Rush.
- 14:25SPEAKER_09: I mean, I think I'll be a bigger follower of Rush now, and it's not because of an well, I guess it is kind of because of I mean she had chance.
- 14:34SPEAKER_09: You had your chance.
- 14:36SPEAKER_09: I did.
- 14:37SPEAKER_09: But I mean, she because of this whole situation, it it it it made me Well, it's a shot of adrenaline to the back.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: Yes, yeah.
- 14:47SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 14:48SPEAKER_03: And and it's like that scene in pulp fiction when uh what's your face has that overdose and they gotta put the adrenaline in her heart.
- 14:54SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:55SPEAKER_09: And then she's like Right, right, exactly.
- 14:57SPEAKER_03: That's exactly what happened.
- 14:58SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 14:58SPEAKER_09: But I think for rock and roll in general, it's a shot in the arm.
- 15:02SPEAKER_03: I mean it's just you know, because what I what I find ironic is like, you know, the the running joke with rushes is that, you know, like when the that skit with uh Paul Rudd and Jason Siegel, yeah, they're they're coming down the hallway, the Rush is coming down the hallway, and Neil's like, ooh, seven women at a rush show.
- 15:20SPEAKER_03: That's a that's a record.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: Um but uh that's the running joke that women don't get into rush.
- 15:27SPEAKER_03: It's right, it's a guy thing.
- 15:29SPEAKER_03: But now they have a female drummer.
- 15:31SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 15:31SPEAKER_09: Who is just do you think it will change?
- 15:34SPEAKER_09: What?
- 15:35SPEAKER_09: Do you think more females will go to this show?
- 15:36SPEAKER_09: I doubt it.
- 15:37SPEAKER_09: Because of Ant-Ch?
- 15:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I don't think so.
- 15:38SPEAKER_09: I don't think so.
- 15:39SPEAKER_09: You probably have more men, actually.
- 15:40SPEAKER_09: You're gonna get more guys.
- 15:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 15:41SPEAKER_09: I mean, it's gotta be like, hey, you know.
- 15:44SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 15:44SPEAKER_09: They got a hot drummer, let's go! Right, because she's I mean, she's definitely easy on the eyes.
- 15:49SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 15:49SPEAKER_09: But I mean, but that aside.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: But that but that's not even I mean, if you didn't know what she looked like and you just listened to her, you'd be like, whoa.
- 15:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 15:57SPEAKER_09: What the fridge.
- 15:58SPEAKER_09: She's incredible.
- 15:59SPEAKER_09: Yeah, she's an awesome drummer.
- 16:00SPEAKER_09: Uh I wanted to I wanted to share.
- 16:01SPEAKER_09: Where's the thing?
- 16:02SPEAKER_09: Uh I saved one.
- 16:05SPEAKER_09: Uh I actually I I think I found it on on Threads or something, and I sent it to myself on Instagram so that I could play it.
- 16:13SPEAKER_09: Um, maybe maybe this is the one you just played.
- 16:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it is.
- 16:19SPEAKER_09: I think it is.
- 16:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 16:21SPEAKER_09: Hold on.
- 16:23SPEAKER_09: It's um we could hear it again, right?
- 16:26SPEAKER_09: I knew I saved one and I guess I didn't realize it was the same one.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: No, this is different.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: Same song.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, just a different part.
- 16:53SPEAKER_06: There it is, right?
- 16:54SPEAKER_06: Oh, we picked up.
- 16:55SPEAKER_06: Right, yeah.
- 16:58SPEAKER_06: So you heard we've heard this.
- 17:00SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 17:00SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: It's a 10-minute talk.
- 17:04SPEAKER_03: You know.
- 17:05SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 17:05SPEAKER_06: And they did YYZ.
- 17:07SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 17:08SPEAKER_06: They always did YYZ.
- 17:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but she did YYZ.
- 17:11SPEAKER_06: I mean that's uh yeah.
- 17:11SPEAKER_03: I mean, you know, I I expected, you know, that to show up because it's one of their bigger Right.
- 17:16SPEAKER_09: You know, she dropped the stick.
- 17:18SPEAKER_09: Did you see that?
- 17:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:19SPEAKER_09: And and without a Didn't even didn't even flinch.
- 17:21SPEAKER_09: Didn't even flinch didn't even phase her.
- 17:23SPEAKER_09: Didn't even phase her.
- 17:24SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:24SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 17:24SPEAKER_03: That was I think a lot of people were, you know, like the Yannica haters were like, oh yeah, look, look, she can't do it.
- 17:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: Drop the sticks already.
- 17:31SPEAKER_03: She's just like, Spider-Man it.
- 17:33SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:33SPEAKER_09: And didn't and didn't miss the fill.
- 17:35SPEAKER_09: I mean completed the fill.
- 17:36SPEAKER_09: It was amazing.
- 17:37SPEAKER_09: It was so fun to watch.
- 17:39SPEAKER_09: And I don't I don't know what else to say.
- 17:41SPEAKER_09: I mean, um like like Portnoy said, Welcome back, Rush.
- 17:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:46SPEAKER_09: Because that's if you have a chance to go to a rush show on this tour.
- 17:50SPEAKER_09: You're rich.
- 17:51SPEAKER_09: You are rich, but do it.
- 17:54SPEAKER_09: Do it.
- 17:55SPEAKER_09: Because um Pat's going, isn't he?
- 17:57SPEAKER_09: Uh well, I don't know that he he asked me today.
- 18:00SPEAKER_09: He says, so Doug has never seen Rush, right?
- 18:02SPEAKER_09: I said, no, he hasn't.
- 18:04SPEAKER_09: Um and he has seen Rush.
- 18:06SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 18:06SPEAKER_09: He said, uh, he asked me, he says, Did did Doug ever sh give you that uh concert?
- 18:11SPEAKER_09: The um 40 uh what was the concert that they they did that was on DVD?
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: Which one?
- 18:20SPEAKER_09: Um the 40th anniversary?
- 18:22SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think so.
- 18:23SPEAKER_03: Why would why would I give it to you?
- 18:24SPEAKER_09: To borrow.
- 18:25SPEAKER_03: Oh no, well you never asked.
- 18:27SPEAKER_09: Oh no, I didn't.
- 18:27SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 18:28SPEAKER_09: And he said, I'll I'll bring it in.
- 18:29SPEAKER_09: I said, okay.
- 18:31SPEAKER_03: I have them all.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: I mean I got I got the 40th, I got the 30th, I got live, I got them in Rio.
- 18:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 18:37SPEAKER_03: When they're uh doing YYZ and the whole crowd is like bouncing.
- 18:41SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 18:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and singing along.
- 18:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah, no, uh Pat's gonna bring it for me.
- 18:44SPEAKER_09: So I'll I'll watch it.
- 18:45SPEAKER_09: Yeah, okay.
- 18:46SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 18:47SPEAKER_09: Um I didn't know you wanted to watch it, so I would have brought mine.
- 18:50SPEAKER_09: I didn't ask for it, but he uh he offered to bring it, so it's like okay, I'll watch it.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you'll you'll love it.
- 18:55SPEAKER_03: That's pretty cool.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: Make sure you have surround sound because it's uh It's that good, huh?
- 18:59SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 19:01SPEAKER_03: Feel good.
- 19:02SPEAKER_09: Um I just have been on a high for the past two days, and it's because of that.
- 19:09SPEAKER_03: Well, it's a it's a shot under arm to rock and roll uh you know, not just to rush, but rock and roll.
- 19:14SPEAKER_09: Absolutely.
- 19:15SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 19:15SPEAKER_03: It's like it's like rock is back.
- 19:17SPEAKER_09: Absolutely, you know.
- 19:19SPEAKER_09: Um because most people are saying rock is dead.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, and here we are, you know.
- 19:24SPEAKER_03: And rush is selling out two seventy-year-olds and a 40-year-old.
- 19:27SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 19:27SPEAKER_03: Just killing it.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 19:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's it's yeah.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: I mean, she she put a lot of people, she she she shot a ton of people up.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: A ton of people.
- 19:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:36SPEAKER_03: I mean, they were all, you know, oh, she's gonna fail, she's a girl, she can't she can't hang with it.
- 19:40SPEAKER_03: Ha ha.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: You're all stupid.
- 19:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 19:43SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and I and I I I gotta say, probably admittedly, that's one of the parts that I enjoy as well, is that she put them to she she shut them up.
- 19:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and and she did it with a smile.
- 19:54SPEAKER_09: She did.
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:54SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 19:55SPEAKER_03: She didn't she didn't have to say anything.
- 19:56SPEAKER_03: There was no negative, like, oh, yeah, all these guys, you sh I'm gonna show you.
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: No, she did the she did her talking behind the snaps.
- 20:03SPEAKER_09: Everything that I've read online, I have not heard a negative thing about that show.
- 20:09SPEAKER_03: No, you're not gonna.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: I don't think you're gonna.
- 20:11SPEAKER_09: Nothing.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:12SPEAKER_09: Um I did hear Alex Lyson screw up.
- 20:16SPEAKER_09: But he's got arthritis, man.
- 20:18SPEAKER_09: Um the fact that the guy's even playing is I'm all the only reason I'm saying that is because I was like, I came home from from work today and I put it on YouTube and I won because I was showing Eli.
- 20:27SPEAKER_09: I was like, you gotta see something.
- 20:29SPEAKER_09: So I put the the concert on on YouTube and the very first song, which was Do you remember?
- 20:34SPEAKER_03: I don't remember.
- 20:36SPEAKER_09: Um he's doing this he's doing this riff on the guitar, and it's a build-up, right?
- 20:43SPEAKER_09: And then towards the end of the or towards the climax of that build-up where she comes in, he messes up.
- 20:53SPEAKER_09: Uh no, no, it's not spirit of radio.
- 20:54SPEAKER_09: Well, you know what?
- 20:55SPEAKER_03: I bet I bet the set list is there somewhere.
- 20:58SPEAKER_09: Oh, I bet it is too.
- 20:59SPEAKER_09: Uh let's let's uh because I watched it, I just want to show you um this you know, so you so we can tell what song it is.
- 21:10SPEAKER_09: Uh let's see.
- 21:16SPEAKER_09: Let's turn this off.
- 21:19SPEAKER_09: And this up.
- 21:22SPEAKER_09: Okay, we're gonna we're gonna skip through the intro, it was great.
- 21:25SPEAKER_09: It was uh it's all a skit with uh actually with the band.
- 21:31SPEAKER_09: Okay, so here is so you haven't seen this?
- 21:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I've seen it all.
- 21:37SPEAKER_03: I've just you know I can't remember.
- 21:42SPEAKER_05: So you you'll be able to tell me what song this is.
- 21:55SPEAKER_03: You know what it is?
- 21:56SPEAKER_03: I do what I can.
- 22:01SPEAKER_03: Terrible with names though.
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: Surprise is not in the description.
- 22:10SPEAKER_05: It is, hold on.
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: It's one of their older songs.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: Is this Xamadu?
- 22:22SPEAKER_04: Might be.
- 22:24SPEAKER_09: Yes, it is.
- 22:25SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 22:26SPEAKER_09: It says first time as a show opener.
- 22:29SPEAKER_09: Listen to the guitar again.
- 22:38SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we're done here, but nobody cares.
- 22:41SPEAKER_04: No, nobody's gonna care.
- 22:59SPEAKER_09: See, I could I could watch it all night.
- 23:01SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 23:03SPEAKER_09: The production itself was just unbelievable with a screen.
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: Whoever their production team is is really top-notch.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, because I mean they got the the light show, the the the skit thing, you know, the openings, you know.
- 23:17SPEAKER_03: And they've always And Howard is the you know Howard has been with them since the 70s.
- 23:22SPEAKER_03: He was their sound guy.
- 23:23SPEAKER_09: I was just gonna ask you.
- 23:24SPEAKER_09: Haven't they always done something like off the wall?
- 23:29SPEAKER_09: Oh, they always do, yeah.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: That's just their sense of humor.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: Was it the 40th?
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: Where they had washing machines.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: Washing machines in the world.
- 23:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they were actually actually doing their laundry.
- 23:37SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 23:39SPEAKER_03: Roadies would come out and get laundry out during the show and stuff like that.
- 23:42SPEAKER_03: That's what I thought.
- 23:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:43SPEAKER_03: I like watching people re react, like reactors.
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:46SPEAKER_03: React to their always like is that a washing machine?
- 23:50SPEAKER_03: They've had rotisserie chickens.
- 23:52SPEAKER_09: They've had uh like cooking on the stands?
- 23:55SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 23:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 23:55SPEAKER_03: I mean they've they've done some crazy stuff over the years.
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: It's it's great.
- 23:58SPEAKER_09: So that's funny.
- 24:00SPEAKER_09: That's funny.
- 24:01SPEAKER_09: Um well, we were just talking about guitar.
- 24:04SPEAKER_09: I don't want to move on from Rush, but I think we probably should.
- 24:07SPEAKER_09: Unless you have anything else you want to say about Annika Niles and and the boys.
- 24:10SPEAKER_03: Rush is awesome.
- 24:12SPEAKER_09: Rush rules.
- 24:13SPEAKER_09: Rush rule.
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, I'll I'll paraphrase Jeff.
- 24:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:16SPEAKER_03: Rush rules!
- 24:18SPEAKER_09: Uh yeah, I mean, I'm I've always been a fan, but I'm an even bigger fan now, and and it was spurred on by Annika.
- 24:27SPEAKER_09: Um the back catalog, I'm I'm I'm gonna d deep dive deep into that.
- 24:31SPEAKER_09: Good luck! I know there's a lot of it.
- 24:34SPEAKER_09: Set aside the next three weeks.
- 24:36SPEAKER_09: Well, I mean, I don't know that I have any rush on vinyl, so I'm gonna start getting some some rush on vinyl.
- 24:42SPEAKER_03: Start with 2112.
- 24:44SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 24:44SPEAKER_03: And then work your way around.
- 24:45SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 24:46SPEAKER_03: That's mine.
- 24:47SPEAKER_09: I will do that.
- 24:48SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I will do that.
- 24:50SPEAKER_09: Um, so uh, what was I gonna do?
- 24:53SPEAKER_09: Yeah, okay, so we were talking about the how Alex uh messed up on the guitar there, and uh, I'm gonna kind of uh dovetail nicely into this next thing.
- 25:03SPEAKER_09: Um, which was Ultimate Classic Rock has another big four.
- 25:08SPEAKER_09: Um, and it is what are the big four of rock guitar solos?
- 25:15SPEAKER_09: Now, I haven't read the article.
- 25:19SPEAKER_09: I'm wondering if they're excluding things like eruption.
- 25:25SPEAKER_09: I wonder if they're I wonder if they're talking guitar solos within a song.
- 25:30SPEAKER_09: So let's just kind of I'm gonna scroll down just slightly.
- 25:34SPEAKER_09: Choosing the big four of guitar solos.
- 25:36SPEAKER_09: Provocative is one word for the task, thankless is another.
- 25:40SPEAKER_09: Uh most A Rock Song Worth Its Salt has a guitar solo, hundreds of thousands.
- 25:45SPEAKER_09: This is one of those situations you could come up with a dozen of four packs, all with different songs, and still be correct in your selections.
- 25:51SPEAKER_09: So, what makes a guitar solo great?
- 25:53SPEAKER_09: Musicianship and technique.
- 25:55SPEAKER_09: Although some of the things that Ultimate Classic Rock has has said lately, I don't know that I trust.
- 26:01SPEAKER_03: I think they're they slip sometimes.
- 26:03SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I do too.
- 26:05SPEAKER_09: Um I'm just trying to see.
- 26:08SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 26:08SPEAKER_09: Some criteria we here we go.
- 26:10SPEAKER_09: Some criteria we employed in the decision making.
- 26:13SPEAKER_09: No instrumentals.
- 26:15SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 26:16SPEAKER_09: Uh that's a whole other category.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: So it takes the interruption eruption out there.
- 26:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah, maybe a big uh maybe a future big four and a different charge for the guitar throughout those compositions.
- 26:24SPEAKER_09: No live versions.
- 26:26SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 26:26SPEAKER_09: We stayed with studio creations, solos that were part of the composing process rather than the expanded six or sometimes seven string excursions.
- 26:34SPEAKER_09: They became on stage, so sorry, Freebird.
- 26:37SPEAKER_09: So the the live version of Freebird is not longer isn't necessarily better.
- 26:41SPEAKER_09: The great solos need to take some time to say their piece, but the real impact is in what's played, not how long.
- 26:48SPEAKER_09: Even with those caveats, the Legion of Applicable Solos is massive and unwieldy, but a hell of a lot of fun to listen to while making these considerations.
- 26:57SPEAKER_09: So after a lot of thought and throwing a little bit of caution to the wind, they're going to give their choices.
- 27:04SPEAKER_09: So let's do ours first.
- 27:06SPEAKER_09: Um at all.
- 27:17SPEAKER_09: You don't.
- 27:20SPEAKER_09: Well, this is a short bit.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's a guitar soul.
- 27:24SPEAKER_03: To me, a guitar soul is a guitar soul.
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: I mean, I know which uh ones I like, but I mean I'm not like, oh, that's the greatest guitar solo ever.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure.
- 27:32SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 27:32SPEAKER_09: How about historically?
- 27:34SPEAKER_03: Like, um like um Well the first one that comes to mind is uh Stairway to Heaven.
- 27:40SPEAKER_09: I bet you that's number one.
- 27:41SPEAKER_03: I bet that's in there.
- 27:42SPEAKER_09: I bet you that's in there.
- 27:43SPEAKER_09: Um I like uh Any Way You Want It by Journey.
- 27:56SPEAKER_09: I love the guitar solo with that.
- 27:58SPEAKER_09: So that would be one of my uh I also wasn't gonna say what it happened.
- 28:04SPEAKER_09: Um another I mean I can do a a Van Halen song, right?
- 28:14SPEAKER_09: Like within the song.
- 28:16SPEAKER_09: Um Although I can't really pick one.
- 28:21SPEAKER_03: I bet I bet the I bet Eddie's solo in uh beat it.
- 28:26SPEAKER_09: Oh beat it?
- 28:27SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 28:27SPEAKER_03: That's a great song.
- 28:28SPEAKER_09: Oh it is.
- 28:29SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it is.
- 28:30SPEAKER_09: And it's a composition too, because it was pieced together.
- 28:32SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 28:33SPEAKER_09: Um, you know what I'm gonna say?
- 28:36SPEAKER_09: Uh I'm gonna say a Steve Lukather solo in in a Toto song.
- 28:42SPEAKER_09: Because uh uh like its simplicity.
- 28:44SPEAKER_09: But the emotion that it brings.
- 28:47SPEAKER_09: And I could I could pick two.
- 28:50SPEAKER_09: But I'm gonna pick I'm gonna pick uh I'm gonna this is not on the list, I know it isn't, but I'm gonna pick um I won't hold you back.
- 29:01SPEAKER_09: That guitar's a lot.
- 29:03SPEAKER_09: Uh so what did I do?
- 29:05SPEAKER_09: So I won't hold you back any way you want it.
- 29:07SPEAKER_09: Is there way to heaven?
- 29:09SPEAKER_09: I need one more.
- 29:16SPEAKER_03: I wanna like uh the beginning of sweet child of mine.
- 29:20SPEAKER_09: Or even the even the solo.
- 29:22SPEAKER_03: Thunderstrike.
- 29:28SPEAKER_09: I think those are riffs and those are intros.
- 29:30SPEAKER_09: The solo in Sweet Child of Mine is pretty epic.
- 29:33SPEAKER_09: The solo in November Rain is pretty epic.
- 29:37SPEAKER_09: Um, I got three.
- 29:41SPEAKER_09: I I can't think of I'm trying to think of a Van Halen one.
- 29:45SPEAKER_09: Um yeah, dreams.
- 29:49SPEAKER_09: I love the guitar solo in dreams.
- 29:51SPEAKER_09: So mine are Any Way You Want It From Journey.
- 29:54SPEAKER_09: Uh I Won't Hold You Back by Toto.
- 29:56SPEAKER_09: Dreams from Van Halen.
- 29:58SPEAKER_09: And Stairway to Heaven.
- 30:00SPEAKER_09: Oh, those are mine.
- 30:01SPEAKER_09: And you don't you're not even gonna do it.
- 30:02SPEAKER_09: Well, I just said Stairway to Heaven.
- 30:03SPEAKER_09: Stairway to Heaven.
- 30:04SPEAKER_09: Okay, so let's see what their first one is.
- 30:06SPEAKER_09: And I don't think these are in any order.
- 30:09SPEAKER_09: Johnny be good.
- 30:10SPEAKER_09: Chuck Barry.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: I get it.
- 30:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's like it's like a first the first like big guitar solo.
- 30:18SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 30:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 30:19SPEAKER_09: Uh okay.
- 30:20SPEAKER_09: It says uh Danny Cedrone established a rock and roll guitar solo template on Bill Haley and the comments rock around the clock.
- 30:29SPEAKER_09: Four years early earlier, but Chuck Berry took the concept to another level on his fifth top ten and first platinum single, which ought to be good.
- 30:36SPEAKER_09: You can't really argue with that.
- 30:38SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 30:38SPEAKER_09: Um Voodoo Chow.
- 30:42SPEAKER_09: Slight return, Jimi Hendrix experience.
- 30:45SPEAKER_09: Um is that what the solo?
- 30:48SPEAKER_09: Well, we're we've got him right here, so why might as well play a little bit of 'em, right?
- 30:52SPEAKER_09: So let's see.
- 30:55SPEAKER_09: After the commercial is done.
- 30:58SPEAKER_17: Make it yours.
- 31:00SPEAKER_09: There we go.
- 31:01SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 31:03SPEAKER_09: Let's just kind of jump to the item.
- 31:29SPEAKER_09: See, although I love Hendrix, to me that's not a that's just a wailing solo.
- 31:37SPEAKER_08: It's like crafted.
- 31:38SPEAKER_08: It's not crafted.
- 31:40SPEAKER_08: I love it.
- 31:42SPEAKER_03: But it was unique at the time.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no question.
- 31:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 31:46SPEAKER_09: No question.
- 31:47SPEAKER_09: Uh let's see what else is on their list here.
- 31:50SPEAKER_09: Uh the Beatles.
- 31:52SPEAKER_09: While my guitar gently weeps.
- 31:54SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 31:54SPEAKER_09: Of course that's Eric Clapton.
- 31:56SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 32:19SPEAKER_08: I love Eric Clapton's uh solo on this song.
- 32:22SPEAKER_08: However, Prince just destroyed this.
- 32:30SPEAKER_08: Or was inspired by this actually.
- 32:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 32:33SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 32:34SPEAKER_09: Um if you don't know what I'm talking about, then you don't listen to this podcast very often.
- 32:38SPEAKER_09: Oh, and there we go.
- 32:39SPEAKER_09: We're both right.
- 32:40SPEAKER_09: There it is.
- 32:40SPEAKER_09: Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven.
- 32:42SPEAKER_09: Uh, let me just uh go forward to a little bit of that solo.
- 32:45SPEAKER_09: I think you you know it pretty well.
- 32:48SPEAKER_03: It's pretty epic.
- 32:49SPEAKER_09: It's pretty epic.
- 33:47SPEAKER_09: Yeah, come on.
- 33:48SPEAKER_02: That's that's that's I think Yeah, so I mean they're all historical.
- 33:52SPEAKER_09: I yeah, they are.
- 33:53SPEAKER_09: They are.
- 33:55SPEAKER_09: If I'm if I'm not mistaken, I think they did like I don't want to say Rolling Stone, maybe Rolling Stone did it.
- 34:03SPEAKER_09: I think they did a list of like the greatest guitar solos.
- 34:08SPEAKER_09: Oh, I think that was number one.
- 34:09SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 34:09SPEAKER_09: I think Stare Way to Heaven is number one.
- 34:12SPEAKER_09: Um can I just play a little bit of the ones that I picked?
- 34:15SPEAKER_09: Just because it's our podcast and I want to.
- 34:17SPEAKER_03: It's our podcast and I'll do it if I want to.
- 34:21SPEAKER_09: Uh so I don't and I don't know what it is um about uh some of these solos that I dig.
- 34:31SPEAKER_09: Uh we go.
- 34:34SPEAKER_09: Um Do I have that one?
- 34:41SPEAKER_09: Well, you know, I do have the live version.
- 34:44SPEAKER_09: So I'll just do this.
- 34:45SPEAKER_09: I'll just do the live version.
- 34:50unknown: Oh, yeah.
- 35:22SPEAKER_09: Very melodic.
- 35:23SPEAKER_09: I like melodic.
- 35:24SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you know, ones that you can sing.
- 35:30SPEAKER_13: But what I really like about this one right here.
- 35:54SPEAKER_09: So there's that one.
- 35:56SPEAKER_09: Uh that's that's one of my favorites.
- 35:58SPEAKER_09: Um And then we're gonna go to we're gonna slow it down.
- 36:02SPEAKER_09: We're gonna slow it down just a little bit.
- 36:04SPEAKER_09: This one's for this one's for the ladies.
- 36:08SPEAKER_09: We're going to play this one right here.
- 36:13SPEAKER_09: This is a great song called I Won't Hold Your Back, written by Steve Lukathur.
- 36:16SPEAKER_09: Sung by Steve Lukathur, and the guitar solo is very simple, but so effective.
- 36:33SPEAKER_05: Here we go.
- 38:07SPEAKER_06: I mean, come back.
- 38:09SPEAKER_06: I mean, come on.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: I only think about the blue angels when I hear this one.
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: It's true because they had that video for years.
- 38:14SPEAKER_09: And you know why they did that, right?
- 38:16SPEAKER_09: You know why they didn't put themselves in that video?
- 38:18SPEAKER_03: Because blue angels are better.
- 38:21SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 38:22SPEAKER_09: That's not why.
- 38:23SPEAKER_03: Well, they're better looking.
- 38:24SPEAKER_09: That's not why.
- 38:25SPEAKER_09: They did it because they wanted the music to speak for itself.
- 38:27SPEAKER_03: Oh, well, that makes sense.
- 38:28SPEAKER_09: So they did so it was their first single from the album.
- 38:30SPEAKER_09: Right from the album.
- 38:31SPEAKER_09: And they didn't want it, they didn't want to m make a well, it probably cost them less too.
- 38:36SPEAKER_09: Well, yeah, they probably kind of get like license footage, you know.
- 38:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah, licensed the blue angels.
- 38:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 38:41SPEAKER_09: And uh but yeah, they were Easy peasy.
- 38:43SPEAKER_09: They because of the change from Roth to Hagar, they wanted the people to hear the music first.
- 38:48SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 38:48SPEAKER_09: And then they put that out and actually it wasn't the first single.
- 38:50SPEAKER_09: Why can't this be love was the first single.
- 38:52SPEAKER_09: Uh, but the the I think it was their biggest single.
- 38:55SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think so too.
- 38:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 38:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 38:56SPEAKER_09: So um yeah, so those are my ideas of my f my top four um solos, guitar solos.
- 39:04SPEAKER_09: Um we mentioned Prince earlier.
- 39:06SPEAKER_09: I told you we had a lot to get to.
- 39:08SPEAKER_09: Um and there is a new Prince album that is coming out, which is exciting, actually, for for me.
- 39:17SPEAKER_09: I love Prince.
- 39:18SPEAKER_09: Um it's set to married.
- 39:21SPEAKER_09: Shut up, I'm married.
- 39:22SPEAKER_09: Uh it's it's said to be released August.
- 39:24SPEAKER_09: You can become Mormon 28th.
- 39:27SPEAKER_09: It's called Timeless.
- 39:30SPEAKER_09: Uh, and there is a new single, it's called Stone.
- 39:34SPEAKER_09: Um it's gonna be the first archival.
- 39:38SPEAKER_09: What are you doing?
- 39:40SPEAKER_09: You oh, you'd like your key.
- 39:42SPEAKER_09: You can say something.
- 39:43SPEAKER_09: You can say hi.
- 39:45SPEAKER_09: Say hi, or you don't get your key.
- 39:47SPEAKER_09: Oh, do that again.
- 39:49SPEAKER_09: Really clairly close.
- 39:54SPEAKER_09: Darn it.
- 39:56SPEAKER_03: An unwitting pawn in the podcast game.
- 39:59SPEAKER_09: That would be my wife.
- 40:01SPEAKER_09: Did you hear her say?
- 40:02SPEAKER_09: Hi.
- 40:03SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 40:03SPEAKER_09: That was nice.
- 40:06SPEAKER_09: I'll be talking to her later.
- 40:07SPEAKER_09: Anyway, uh the new single is called Stone.
- 40:10SPEAKER_09: Uh Timeless will be the first archival album released by Legacy Recordings and the Prince Estate since 2021's Welcome to America.
- 40:18SPEAKER_09: Uh, unlike that album, which was recorded in a month-long session in the spring of 2010, the songs on Timeless are taken from throughout Prince's career.
- 40:26SPEAKER_09: So this is kind of this must be a like a best of.
- 40:30SPEAKER_09: Or maybe maybe they're B-side, or maybe they're uh songs that you Well, maybe they were songs he was working on and didn't put on anything.
- 40:38SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 40:38SPEAKER_09: Maybe.
- 40:39SPEAKER_09: Um anyway, uh let's let's just listen to it.
- 40:43SPEAKER_09: This is called Stone from the uh the new Prince album, which comes out August 28th called Timeless.
- 40:49SPEAKER_09: Let's see what this sounds like.
- 40:51SPEAKER_15: You used to be the best of me.
- 40:54SPEAKER_15: You work on the world.
- 40:56SPEAKER_15: I watched you all life, but not in what's wrong.
- 41:00SPEAKER_15: You let me on the phone.
- 41:44SPEAKER_03: I like it, but I really like it.
- 41:46SPEAKER_03: I like to rate from almost more meat too.
- 41:50SPEAKER_09: That's uh that's great.
- 41:54SPEAKER_13: Um I almost want to keep listening to it.
- 42:29SPEAKER_09: It just keeps getting better.
- 42:38SPEAKER_09: I don't wanna I don't wanna keep going, but that's that's awesome.
- 42:41SPEAKER_09: Awesome, awesome.
- 42:42SPEAKER_09: Uh apparently um he he did a uh song written that he wrote for Celine Dion.
- 42:50SPEAKER_09: Um and his and his version is on this collection as well.
- 42:56SPEAKER_09: Uh it's called With This Tear, and there's a there's a track here as well.
- 43:01SPEAKER_09: So let's listen to the With This Tear.
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: When I was younger, I always said that one day I was gonna play all kinds of music and not be judged for the color of my skin, but the quality of my work.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: Hopefully that will continue.
- 43:26SPEAKER_14: With this for you to talk to me like you did.
- 43:38SPEAKER_14: And you promised me.
- 44:01SPEAKER_14: Now you go.
- 44:05SPEAKER_14: With this ball I decode.
- 44:12SPEAKER_09: I like this too.
- 44:15SPEAKER_09: Oh man.
- 44:19SPEAKER_09: It does.
- 44:19SPEAKER_09: So much talent, dude.
- 44:21SPEAKER_09: Yeah, my word.
- 44:22SPEAKER_09: Anyway, that's from the uh Timeless collection, which comes out August 28th.
- 44:27SPEAKER_17: Nice.
- 44:27SPEAKER_17: I think I will probably be picking that up.
- 44:29SPEAKER_17: Oh heck yeah.
- 44:30SPEAKER_17: Oh heck yeah.
- 44:31SPEAKER_09: Uh so one more bit of new music to um preview.
- 44:36SPEAKER_09: Uh kind of in a slightly different um you know, genre, realm, whatever.
- 44:44SPEAKER_09: Um, is the the sons of Kiss.
- 44:50SPEAKER_09: I can't remember what you were talking about.
- 44:52SPEAKER_09: Basically, uh Gene Simmons' son uh and Paul Stanley's son.
- 44:58SPEAKER_09: And I will tell you their name.
- 44:59SPEAKER_09: Nick Simmons and Evan Stanley.
- 45:02SPEAKER_09: They have an a band called Stanley Simmons.
- 45:06SPEAKER_09: It's original.
- 45:09SPEAKER_09: Um but they have Way to go, guys! They have an album out.
- 45:13SPEAKER_09: Dancing While the World Is Ending.
- 45:16SPEAKER_09: Uh and let's see, it comes Early Wait.
- 45:25SPEAKER_09: I'm trying to find a release date for the album.
- 45:28SPEAKER_09: August 28th, hey, same day.
- 45:30SPEAKER_09: Um guess which one's right already.
- 45:33SPEAKER_09: I know, right?
- 45:34SPEAKER_09: We might be surprised though at this at this.
- 45:35SPEAKER_03: This is a based on the last time we learned, I was like, mm.
- 45:39SPEAKER_03: Did we listen to the last one?
- 45:40SPEAKER_03: We listened to a one before, and I was like, Okay, well, this is called Cellophane.
- 45:44SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 45:44SPEAKER_09: So let's let's see what this sounds like.
- 45:47SPEAKER_09: Oh, we got a commercial here.
- 45:49SPEAKER_09: Wait a second.
- 45:50SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 45:51SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's Gene Simmons, right?
- 45:53SPEAKER_03: How's YouTube gonna make money if you don't play a commercial?
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: They definitely harmonize better than their dads, but not what I was expecting.
- 46:21SPEAKER_13: Not doesn't mix him to look like his dad though.
- 46:35SPEAKER_02: I don't mind it.
- 46:37SPEAKER_02: This is actually pretty okay.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: Better than the other one.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, oh yeah, way better.
- 46:42SPEAKER_02: Instead of light with this one.
- 46:51SPEAKER_03: I would I would get this before I get a kiss album.
- 46:54SPEAKER_09: Me too.
- 46:54SPEAKER_09: You know.
- 47:01SPEAKER_02: Even the music sounds rather psychedelic.
- 47:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:08SPEAKER_09: Which is not a bad thing.
- 47:10SPEAKER_03: No, I mean it's you know, it's better than a lot of the crap that's coming out.
- 47:18SPEAKER_02: No, I dig it.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: That's very beetle in.
- 47:21SPEAKER_03: It is, you know, like later beetles.
- 47:23SPEAKER_02: Like rubber stole on.
- 47:25SPEAKER_02: Well, now we just listened to Prince.
- 47:26SPEAKER_02: Can you hear Prince singing?
- 47:28SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, he could usually do it.
- 47:30SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 47:30SPEAKER_02: This sounds he would do it way better.
- 47:31SPEAKER_02: This sounds like a Prince.
- 47:33SPEAKER_02: It could be a Prince Pond.
- 47:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah, no, I like this one.
- 47:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah, pretty good.
- 47:43SPEAKER_09: Cellophane from Stanley Simmons.
- 47:47SPEAKER_09: And that comes out the same day as Princess Uh Timeless comes out.
- 47:51SPEAKER_03: Sorry guys, I gotta make a choice and you're not gonna be it.
- 47:54SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 47:55SPEAKER_09: Uh I'm I'm thinking the same thing.
- 47:57SPEAKER_09: Too bad.
- 47:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 47:57SPEAKER_09: So sad.
- 47:58SPEAKER_09: But it's good to it's good to have uh new music and and uh I I dig that tune.
- 48:03SPEAKER_03: And at some point I may Well, you know, it's it's better than like stuff that like McCartney and uh Lennon's kids have been coming out.
- 48:13SPEAKER_09: Right, yeah, it is.
- 48:14SPEAKER_09: So it is.
- 48:16SPEAKER_09: Um okay, so let's do let's do this because it's that time.
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: And I don't want to run out of uh I want to make sure the machine's recording.
- 48:30SPEAKER_09: Yes, it is right now.
- 48:32SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 48:33SPEAKER_09: So, but anything can happen.
- 48:35SPEAKER_09: Stupid SD cards.
- 48:37SPEAKER_09: So we're gonna just gonna we're gonna fire this puppy up and we'll get some questions here.
- 48:42SPEAKER_09: And what I'm talking about is, of course, poorly explained movies, the 80s edition.
- 48:47SPEAKER_09: I went through a few of these and kind of weeded out ones that we have already done.
- 48:52SPEAKER_09: Um, not all of them, obviously.
- 48:54SPEAKER_09: And so uh hopefully, hopefully we haven't done these also.
- 49:00SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 49:00SPEAKER_09: Uh so I have three that I think you'll get.
- 49:03SPEAKER_09: Actually, this one we may have done.
- 49:06SPEAKER_09: Uh and if we have, it's going into that pile over there.
- 49:10SPEAKER_09: So just if we've done this, just pretend that we haven't.
- 49:12SPEAKER_09: Well, it will be going into that pile.
- 49:13SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 49:13SPEAKER_09: Regardless.
- 49:14SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 49:15SPEAKER_09: But if we've done Neil! Just pretend that we haven't.
- 49:17SPEAKER_09: Roger that.
- 49:18SPEAKER_09: Okay, because I don't want to feel like an idiot.
- 49:20SPEAKER_09: Don't say anything.
- 49:22SPEAKER_09: I was literally gonna say something.
- 49:23SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 49:26SPEAKER_09: Alright, here's the explanation.
- 49:28SPEAKER_09: Unemployed actors get shot at repeatedly.
- 49:32SPEAKER_09: I think we have done this one.
- 49:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, uh, but I can't remember what it was.
- 49:35SPEAKER_09: They have fancy hats.
- 49:37SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, three amigos.
- 49:38SPEAKER_09: Three amigos, yes.
- 49:39SPEAKER_09: Yes, so we had done that.
- 49:40SPEAKER_03: I think I missed that the first one.
- 49:42SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 49:42SPEAKER_09: Uh I don't know that we've done this, but it's possible.
- 49:46SPEAKER_09: Uh an antiques dealer has a sword fight in a garage.
- 49:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we've done this one too.
- 49:51SPEAKER_03: Have we?
- 49:51SPEAKER_03: It's Highlander.
- 49:52SPEAKER_09: It started 350 years ago.
- 49:53SPEAKER_09: Yes, alright.
- 49:54SPEAKER_09: This one I don't think we've done.
- 49:57SPEAKER_09: Uh this is a quick game.
- 50:00SPEAKER_09: Fastest game ever! A restaurant's decor starts a riot.
- 50:04SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, we've done this too.
- 50:06SPEAKER_03: We have?
- 50:07SPEAKER_03: It's uh uh do the right thing.
- 50:08SPEAKER_14: What the heck?
- 50:10SPEAKER_09: Can I do one that we haven't done?
- 50:11SPEAKER_09: I guess.
- 50:12SPEAKER_09: I want to pick.
- 50:13SPEAKER_03: If you can!
- 50:14SPEAKER_09: Apparently I can't.
- 50:17SPEAKER_09: We did that.
- 50:18SPEAKER_09: We did that.
- 50:20SPEAKER_09: We did that.
- 50:21SPEAKER_09: We did that.
- 50:23SPEAKER_09: Gosh, have we done them all?
- 50:25SPEAKER_03: I can't imagine we've done them all.
- 50:26SPEAKER_03: We haven't been playing this that long.
- 50:30SPEAKER_09: And we did that.
- 50:33SPEAKER_09: Yeah, we did that.
- 50:35SPEAKER_09: We did that.
- 50:39SPEAKER_09: I don't know if we've done that.
- 50:42SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 50:42SPEAKER_09: We're gonna I'm gonna say this.
- 50:43SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 50:44SPEAKER_09: And if we've done it, then we've done it.
- 50:46SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 50:46SPEAKER_09: FBI agents harass a disabled boy and his foreign friend.
- 50:55SPEAKER_09: The hint is in a McDonald's, 1988.
- 51:06SPEAKER_03: FBI.
- 51:12SPEAKER_09: FBI agents harass a disabled boy.
- 51:15SPEAKER_09: A disabled boy.
- 51:16SPEAKER_09: And his foreign friend in a McDonald's.
- 51:21SPEAKER_09: I'll give you a hint.
- 51:23SPEAKER_09: I don't know if this will help you or not because you already give me the hint.
- 51:26SPEAKER_09: No, I'll give you my hint, my own hint.
- 51:28SPEAKER_09: Oh.
- 51:28SPEAKER_09: And I don't know if this will help you or not because you you may not know about this, but uh Conan O'Brien's show.
- 51:36SPEAKER_09: Every time Paul Rudd would go on, he would build up whatever movie clip he's selling, but would end up showing a clip from this movie every single time.
- 51:50SPEAKER_09: He would not show a clip from the movie that he was promoting.
- 51:54SPEAKER_09: He would show a clip from this movie of a boy in a wheelchair falling off a cliff.
- 52:01SPEAKER_09: At least I think it's from that movie.
- 52:03SPEAKER_09: Pretty sure.
- 52:04SPEAKER_03: I have no idea, man.
- 52:05SPEAKER_09: No?
- 52:05SPEAKER_09: Have you seen Mac and Me?
- 52:07SPEAKER_17: No.
- 52:08SPEAKER_09: No.
- 52:08SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 52:09SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 52:10SPEAKER_09: Well, we've done that one now.
- 52:12SPEAKER_09: Alright, now here's the one I didn't think you would get.
- 52:14SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 52:16SPEAKER_09: And maybe we've done this.
- 52:19SPEAKER_09: A college student's ear gets him into lounge music.
- 52:24SPEAKER_09: The hint is he founded in a field.
- 52:28SPEAKER_09: 1986.
- 52:29SPEAKER_03: The ear or the music.
- 52:31SPEAKER_09: The ear.
- 52:35SPEAKER_09: A college student's ear gets him into lounge music.
- 52:39SPEAKER_09: He founded in a field.
- 52:44SPEAKER_09: If I remember right.
- 52:46SPEAKER_09: It stars Dennis Hopper.
- 52:52SPEAKER_09: And uh So you haven't seen Blue Velvet?
- 52:56SPEAKER_04: No.
- 52:57SPEAKER_09: No.
- 52:57SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 52:58SPEAKER_09: See, I knew you wouldn't get it.
- 52:59SPEAKER_09: See?
- 53:00SPEAKER_09: There you go.
- 53:00SPEAKER_09: Alright, but I'm gonna keep that in this pile over here.
- 53:03SPEAKER_09: Because we've already done those.
- 53:06SPEAKER_09: Uh yeah, I don't know.
- 53:11SPEAKER_09: I know we've done a couple of those, but I'm not sure about that one.
- 53:14SPEAKER_09: Alright, so there.
- 53:15SPEAKER_09: That's that.
- 53:16SPEAKER_09: So now let's dovetail nicely into It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 53:24SPEAKER_11: Everyone's favorites.
- 53:26SPEAKER_11: O'Brien, Doug, Cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judgeness.
- 53:30SPEAKER_11: Judgeness, judginess.
- 53:32SPEAKER_11: It's time to play mixtape, mixtape.
- 53:36SPEAKER_09: Alright, I didn't even pick a song for this week.
- 53:38SPEAKER_11: What?
- 53:39SPEAKER_09: I didn't.
- 53:40SPEAKER_09: I was so sorry.
- 53:41SPEAKER_03: I don't think it's a big deal.
- 53:42SPEAKER_09: I'm gonna I'm gonna look at it and pick it right now.
- 53:47SPEAKER_03: Alrighty! Let me find her judgeness.
- 53:52SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 53:54SPEAKER_03: Are we ready?
- 53:55SPEAKER_09: We're ready.
- 53:56SPEAKER_03: Here we go.
- 53:57SPEAKER_10: Hey guys, that was a really fun week of picks from Mixtape.
- 54:01SPEAKER_10: Uh I enjoyed listening to them.
- 54:03SPEAKER_10: Uh shout out to Cousin Larry for picking Tom Petty.
- 54:06SPEAKER_10: True classic, you can never go wrong with Tom Petty.
- 54:09SPEAKER_10: Um I enjoyed that uh O'Brien and Doug picked the same song, just different styles.
- 54:15SPEAKER_10: And I actually had to go with uh O'Brien's pick this week, the instrumental version of She Blinded Me with Science, Science.
- 54:22SPEAKER_10: Uh I I'm a sucker for a good instrumental cover of songs, so that was my pick this week.
- 54:28SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 54:29SPEAKER_02: I'll take it.
- 54:30SPEAKER_02: That's that's that's cool.
- 54:31SPEAKER_03: Winnah winna, chicken dinner.
- 54:35SPEAKER_09: Okay, so that's the past.
- 54:36SPEAKER_03: Correct.
- 54:37SPEAKER_09: Now we do the present, and I I picked one just off the top of my head, so let's read it.
- 54:43SPEAKER_09: The question for this week is You're in a brand new 650 horsepower Shelby Mustang with federal agents and two helicopters hot on your tail.
- 54:58SPEAKER_09: There's 75 miles between you and freedom.
- 55:03SPEAKER_09: What song is blasting through the car speakers?
- 55:09SPEAKER_09: What did Cousin Larry say?
- 55:13SPEAKER_03: Cousin Larry said, mixtape.
- 55:16SPEAKER_03: Excellent vehicle choice, as it is one of my faves, although I am still partial to a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner.
- 55:22SPEAKER_03: First song I thought of was the theme from Betty Hill.
- 55:25SPEAKER_03: He likes that.
- 55:26SPEAKER_06: He does.
- 55:27SPEAKER_03: Um just kidding, sort of.
- 55:29SPEAKER_03: That's what he said.
- 55:31SPEAKER_03: I thought of I Fought the Law by the Bobby Fuller 4 or the Clash.
- 55:36SPEAKER_03: And Judas Priest breaking the law, but you guys know me, it's got to be ACDC's Highway to Hell.
- 55:42SPEAKER_03: Honorable mention to Black Betty by Ramjam.
- 55:45SPEAKER_03: Just seems like a cool song to play while driving fast.
- 55:57SPEAKER_09: Hold on, we gotta play the real version because that's not the real version.
- 57:15SPEAKER_09: It sounds it's deceiving.
- 57:17SPEAKER_09: It is, yeah.
- 57:17SPEAKER_09: Coming back again.
- 57:18SPEAKER_09: It's up eat, yeah.
- 57:19SPEAKER_09: It is up eat.
- 57:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 57:20SPEAKER_09: All right.
- 57:21SPEAKER_09: What is yours?
- 57:22SPEAKER_03: I went with uh Commander Cody, uh Hot Rod Lincoln.
- 57:26SPEAKER_09: Oh wow.
- 57:26SPEAKER_02: I haven't heard that in a while.
- 57:28SPEAKER_03: I know, right?
- 57:29SPEAKER_09: Uh right here.
- 57:30SPEAKER_09: That's a great song.
- 57:31SPEAKER_09: I love this song.
- 57:32SPEAKER_09: Let's see.
- 57:47SPEAKER_00: Have you heard the story of the hot rod race with the Fords and Leggets with Setting the Pace?
- 57:51SPEAKER_00: That story is true.
- 57:52SPEAKER_00: I'm here to say I was driving that Model A.
- 57:54SPEAKER_09: Most have to listen to the whole song because it tells the story.
- 57:58SPEAKER_00: That Model A body makes it look like a pup.
- 58:00SPEAKER_00: Got eight cylinders and uses them all.
- 58:02SPEAKER_00: Got overdrive, just won't stall.
- 58:05SPEAKER_00: With a four-barrel carbon and dual exhaust.
- 58:07SPEAKER_00: With four living gears, you can really get lost.
- 58:09SPEAKER_00: Got safety twos, but I ain't scared.
- 58:11SPEAKER_00: The brakes are good.
- 58:17SPEAKER_00: The moon and the stars was shining.
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: We was driving up grave on hill peasant cars, like they were standing still.
- 58:31SPEAKER_00: All of a sudden, in the wink of an eye, Catalacan past the spot.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: Was all you could see.
- 58:40SPEAKER_00: Now the fellas ripped the free and behind.
- 58:42SPEAKER_00: So I thought I'd make the link and mine.
- 58:44SPEAKER_00: Should my foot up on the gas, and live I shove the phone down the chip overdrive.
- 58:49SPEAKER_00: Mounted up to 110.
- 58:53SPEAKER_00: My foot was blue.
- 58:54SPEAKER_00: I literally floor that's the only reason I ain't no more.
- 59:05SPEAKER_00: Just look like that.
- 59:06SPEAKER_09: We'll stop it there.
- 59:09SPEAKER_09: Uh you want to hear the rest?
- 59:10SPEAKER_09: Then you gotta go listen.
- 59:11SPEAKER_09: Gotta go listen.
- 59:12SPEAKER_09: Commander Cody and uh his Lost Planet Airmen is the name of the band.
- 59:18SPEAKER_03: They don't name bands like that anymore.
- 59:20SPEAKER_09: They don't.
- 59:20SPEAKER_09: That is Hot Rod Lincoln.
- 59:22SPEAKER_09: I think that was their only hit.
- 59:24SPEAKER_09: I think it is too.
- 59:25SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 59:25SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 59:26SPEAKER_09: Great choice.
- 59:26SPEAKER_09: Great choice.
- 59:27SPEAKER_09: I had to come up with one like just now.
- 59:30SPEAKER_09: Uh, and the first thing that came to mind, you won't know.
- 59:33SPEAKER_09: Well, actually, you might know.
- 59:34SPEAKER_09: It's not a song per se, it's a theme song.
- 59:38SPEAKER_03: Um, and I know that I like how you differentiate between songs and theme songs.
- 59:45SPEAKER_03: Well, what I mean is it wasn't on the radio.
- 59:48SPEAKER_09: Well, it doesn't matter, it's still a song.
- 59:50SPEAKER_09: That's true.
- 59:50SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 59:51SPEAKER_09: But I mean, unless you watch the show, you don't know this song.
- 59:54SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 59:54SPEAKER_09: Okay?
- 59:55SPEAKER_09: So, uh, and the show kind of lends itself to what the description was, is that you're running from the law.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_09: Um, and this is uh from Hardcastle and McCormick.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_09: Season one.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_09: Do you remember this?
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_09: Do you remember that that show?
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_09: No.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_09: Uh let's see.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_03: I don't think I remember.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_05: Nope.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_05: It's a coyote.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_03: That's a flower body, though.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_09: Just a second.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_09: Oh, let's see if this is an actual better version.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_09: It is.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_05: Trying to think who does it.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_15: Iron Steel Actually, it's not a better version.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_09: Quality is not very good.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_09: Anyway, let's just say it's the the theme song, uh, it's called Drive from Hardcastle and McCormick.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I never saw this show.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_09: Oh, this was a great show.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_02: It was it was you know, it was one of those Well, I mean, it's nice as he's hanging out with his dad.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_09: That's a judge.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_09: So do do you do you know the premise of the show?
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_09: No, I have no clue.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_09: It's pretty, it's pretty uh stupid, but uh this guy was a habitual offender.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_09: And if I remember right, he uh he the judge was retiring.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_09: And nah, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna do it justice, but he he actually kind of uh So he's actually a criminal and that guy's a judge.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_03: So it's like your classic mix of buddy.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_03: And then they become You're a criminal, I'm a judge.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_03: Let's be friends.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_09: And they s and they end up solving crimes.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they solve crimes.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_09: And that is not a Ferrari.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_09: That is a Coyote X.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_03: It's got a Ferrari bottom.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_09: Well, let me let me uh because I don't want to tell you something.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_09: No, I I don't Coyote Coyote X.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_09: Car.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_09: Uh legendary custom sports car made famous by the 1980s television series Hardcastle McCormick.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_09: It's built as a kit car utilizing utilizing a fiberglass manta montage body, modeled after to the race racing exotic, the McLaren M6GT.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_09: So yeah, it looks it looks like a Ferrari, but I think it's not.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_03: That was a pretty popular uh like when you're talking like 24 hours of Le Mans.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_03: That was that was a pretty popular uh body style.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_09: Um okay.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_09: So now we need to do the future.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, let me recap.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_09: So Hardcastle McCormick uh theme song, which is called Drive.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_09: That is my choice.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_09: Uh Doug's choice is Commander Cody, Hot Rod Lincoln, and Cousin Larry's choice is ACDC's Highway to Hell.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_09: So uh there you go, uh her judgmentist, misjudging us, because that is uh uh tall order.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_09: Um you're still picking?
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_09: I ordered a new phone case, by the way.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_09: It's coming in Monday.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_03: What's wrong with the old one?
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_09: That's all this is all falling apart here.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_09: Wait, where do you see the new one?
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_09: I'll just tease it, I'll tease it.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_09: Where do you see it?
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_03: It is actually this one.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_09: It is actually very good.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_03: Okay, all right.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_03: Ready?
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_03: You just want to take it to a private show with fifty other people.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_03: That's wide open.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_09: So uh we'll send that to Cousin Larry, and uh we'll talk about that next week.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_03: So for now, let's quite a quite a glare on that.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_03: Gotta gotta get a good showing.

- 1:06:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_03: Here we are.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_03: Once again.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_09: Did I tell you uh Eli Reck uh Eli struck died?
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I did.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_09: Well he told me.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it just puts a whole new pain in my butt.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_03: Well, wasn't gonna use it much coming up anyway, but I know.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_03: Still.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_09: Um, I want you to help me do something.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_09: I think we can make this a bit for the podcast.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_09: Um, because I think I talked, was it last last episode that we talked about the Wall of Tunes and how I might just weed it out.
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_09: Um, so my daughter was home for Eli's graduation.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, by the way, Eli graduated.
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_17: Who?
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_09: And this is Eli.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_09: And it was his my wife and I spent all night at Project Grad.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_09: So yeah, well, you were there.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_09: Yeah, well, not all night.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_09: For a little while.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_09: Um anyway, uh, so my d my oldest came up for the graduation.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_09: And uh she we I was talking about, you know, how I think I'm just gonna get rid of all my CDs, which was a delight to my wife.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_09: But I said, I think I might keep like a hundred.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_09: And my daughter, being the genius that she is, she says, You could make that a bit for your podcast.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_09: You could you could uh decide what you're gonna keep you could you decide if you're you're gonna keep whatever you pick, or if you're gonna toss it.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_09: Or or you can let the listener decide.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_09: You know, I don't know how we would do that.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_09: And is a hundred enough?
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_09: Because I'm keeping all my Van Halen, keeping all my John Hyatt.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_09: You know what I mean?
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_09: I'm keeping all my journey.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_03: We'll exclude all those and then just pick the hundred out of what's left.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_09: So okay, so I see where she's going with this.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_03: I think it's actually pretty brilliant.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_09: So how would we do it?
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_03: Well, just take all the ones out that you're gonna like all your Van Halen's, all your John Hyattes.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_03: Take those out.
- 1:09:04SPEAKER_03: Don't put them in the running.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_03: And then we'll do it from we'll have it'll be like every week you'll be like, okay.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_09: So we do ten CDs.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_09: Ten CDs.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_09: Every every week?
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_03: Why would we do that?
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_03: We're doing one one a week.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_09: Just drag it out?
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, that's what we do here.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_03: Gee.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_03: Well, there's a l there's a lot of them.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_03: So?
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_03: It's not like we're ending the podcast anytime.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_09: No, no, but I am gonna clean this place pretty soon.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but still.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_03: I mean, you know, I don't you know, I don't want to do ten a week.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_03: That's that's that's nuts.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_03: Uh just do one a week.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_03: One a week.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_03: And then and then have like, you know, we'll have like cousin Larry vote in on it.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_03: We'll have the judge vote in on it.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_09: Like, like I I I say you should keep it.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well well, we'll we'll all vote.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_09: Yeah, okay.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_03: And if we all vote you keep it, then you keep it.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_03: If we vote toss it, then you toss it.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_03: Even if you want to keep it.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_09: So we kind of weigh the pros and cons of keeping it and weigh the pro and we'll get cousin Larry, we'll get the judge, we'll get bouncing bob.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_09: There you go.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_09: That would take a long time for H C D, wouldn't it?
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_03: We'll do it.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_03: Do one a week.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_09: Let's start now.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_09: So uh I'm gonna take off my headphones.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_09: I'm gonna pick an album.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_09: And uh we'll decide if we're gonna We'll we'll we'll feature it.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_09: And then we'll decide.
- 1:10:23SPEAKER_09: You and I will decide.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_09: No, wait, we're gonna let them weigh in.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_09: Okay, whether I keep it or or get rid of it.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_09: I have a feeling I won't be getting rid of anything.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_09: But anyway.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_09: Alright, so I'm gonna take off those.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_09: I'm gonna stand up.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_09: I'm gonna grab still have to guess, right?
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_03: No.
- 1:10:47SPEAKER_09: No?
- 1:10:47SPEAKER_09: No.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_09: You're not gonna guess?
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_03: No.
- 1:10:50SPEAKER_03: We're we're voting on the album.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna we're gonna discuss the the merits of the album, whether you should keep it or not.
- 1:10:57SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_09: So so the whole guessing part is is done.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_09: We're done with that.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we're we're gonna do that.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_09: That has that has kind of run its course.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_03: I think I think we've hit everybody.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_09: So so can I still do this?
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_12: O'Brien and Doug's wall of two tunes.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, cousin Larry has to do it every week.
- 1:11:15SPEAKER_09: I mean, you know.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_09: And it is still kind of the wall of tunes.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_03: It's still the wall of tunes, it's just a different version.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_09: Right, okay.
- 1:11:21SPEAKER_03: You know.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_09: So, the uh C D that I've chosen.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_09: And and and I think I explained it on our last episode why I'm thinking about doing this.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_09: Because I just don't listen to them.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_09: I don't have time.
- 1:11:36SPEAKER_03: Um we're gonna keep this pile.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_09: Quiet riot.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_09: Super hits.
- 1:11:58SPEAKER_09: So Yeah.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_09: You know um Oh geez.
- 1:12:06SPEAKER_09: Even on YouTube, you probably shouldn't uh type in the way they spell.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_09: Come on, feel the noise.
- 1:12:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's gonna lead you down some interesting well, I mean it's YouTube.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_09: It is.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_09: It will be protected, but w what comes up first is probably not what you're looking for.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_13: Come on, feel the doorhoid!
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_08: Okay, now so that's that's one of the ones that everybody knows.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_08: Metal health.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_08: Bang yo.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_08: I don't want to play that one.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_08: But there's also that's a terrible quality of that.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_09: I also love this song.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_09: I don't know if you've ever heard this one.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_09: Uh another cover song from uh, yeah, this one?
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_08: No.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_08: Really?
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_08: No.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_09: I think this is another Slade hit.
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_09: And then these are ones that I like this one.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_09: This is condition critical.
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_09: I'll just place this will be the last one.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_08: Smash it or trash it.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_08: Oh, or uh, yeah, smash it or trash it.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_08: That's what we used to call that stuff.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_08: Smash or trash?
- 1:14:49SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_03: We'll call it wall of tune, smash or trash.
- 1:14:55SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 1:14:56SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 1:14:58SPEAKER_08: This is condition critical.
- 1:15:01SPEAKER_08: Alright.
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_03: So they got come on feel the noise, mental health, slick black cattle, right?
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_03: Mama, we're all crazy now.
- 1:15:10SPEAKER_03: That's hard to read because it's all spelled on.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_03: Uh, don't want to let you go.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_03: Condition critical.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_03: I'm falling.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_03: Empty promises.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_03: Don't wanna be your fool and sign of the times.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_03: So that's your track list.
- 1:15:23SPEAKER_03: That's your track list.
- 1:15:24SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_03: Now I'm gonna say trash it.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_03: Only because, and this is just my personal opinion, the cover, boring.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_03: And I only know two songs anyway.
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_03: So I'm gonna say trash.
- 1:15:42SPEAKER_02: So wait, what is my vote how does my vote weigh?
- 1:15:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, no, we don't care.
- 1:15:49SPEAKER_02: Okay, so no, it's gonna be a majority.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_03: There's five of us.
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_03: Five of us voting.
- 1:15:53SPEAKER_03: So wait a second.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_03: So there has to be there, there will be a majority.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_03: Let me ask you this.
- 1:15:57SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_09: Let's say that let's say you you said to to smash it or to trash.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_09: No, you let's say you said to smash it.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_09: It's a smash.
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:16:09SPEAKER_09: Keep it.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_09: Let's say cousin Larry said, oh yeah, you gotta keep that.
- 1:16:13SPEAKER_09: Let's say Miss Judgeness said, you gotta keep that.
- 1:16:16SPEAKER_09: But I said, no, I don't like it.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_09: I want to get rid of it.
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_03: No, you have to keep it, because I have to keep it.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_03: That's that's the beauty of the game.
- 1:16:23SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_03: Then you're like, man, I got 100 CDs.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_03: I only like 75 of them.
- 1:16:32SPEAKER_09: What so what happens if um both the two of you say trash it and and two of us say smash it?
- 1:16:39SPEAKER_03: Well, no, it has to be there's five.
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_03: You can't have a tie.
- 1:16:43SPEAKER_03: You can't have a right.
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_09: Okay, you're right.
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_03: See, I'm there's a lot going on.
- 1:16:47SPEAKER_03: I'm more than just a pretty face.
- 1:16:49SPEAKER_03: There's a lot going on up here.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_09: So um I too am gonna say trash it.
- 1:16:54SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_09: Um I'm I'm a Quiet Riot fan, but I'm not a huge Quiet Riot riot fan.
- 1:17:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, see that that's the thing with me too.
- 1:17:02SPEAKER_03: I'm not a huge Quiet Riot fan.
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_02: As you can see, I bought Quiet Riot's super hits.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, it looks like it was made, you know, by a kid in Mexico for like 12 cents.
- 1:17:11SPEAKER_02: I don't have an actual Quiet Riot album.
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_02: I just I have I have a collection.
- 1:17:15SPEAKER_02: That that right there should tell you right then.
- 1:17:17SPEAKER_02: This was probably six dollars at Walmart.
- 1:17:18SPEAKER_03: Probably.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_03: Probably.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_03: You know, so that's you know, so two of us have weighed in.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_03: Now we'll wait for Bounce and Bob, Cousin Larry, and the judge to weigh in.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_09: And are we gonna reach out to them and let them know?
- 1:17:29SPEAKER_03: Or are they just they should be listening?
- 1:17:32SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:17:32SPEAKER_09: So Yeah, you're right.
- 1:17:34SPEAKER_09: They should be.
- 1:17:34SPEAKER_03: They should we'll we'll see if they're listening.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_03: This will be the test.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_03: Then we'll know we have at least five people listening.
- 1:17:42SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:17:42SPEAKER_03: That's I'm diabolical.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 1:17:49SPEAKER_03: I think this is gonna be fun, to be honest with you.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_03: I think it will be too.
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_03: I just hope we get like albums that are like you're like trash.
- 1:17:55SPEAKER_03: We're all like, oh, smash it! This is awesome.
- 1:17:58SPEAKER_03: You're like, oh man, I gotta keep this thing.
- 1:17:59SPEAKER_02: Oh no, no, wait a minute.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:18:01SPEAKER_02: I gotta keep this freaking thing.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_02: Let's say I really, really want to keep one and you all say trash it.
- 1:18:05SPEAKER_02: I have to throw it I have to throw it.
- 1:18:07SPEAKER_03: That's the that's the rule.
- 1:18:08SPEAKER_03: You gotta try.
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_03: Now, what what you do when we're not here, I mean we we have no control.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:18:14SPEAKER_03: But I mean, I'm just saying, yeah.
- 1:18:16SPEAKER_03: If we say, if we all say trash it and you're like smash it, we're all like eh, bye-bye.
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_09: All right.
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_03: So long.
- 1:18:23SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:18:24SPEAKER_09: So I can deal with it.
- 1:18:25SPEAKER_02: I think that's the I think that I think this will be fun.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I can deal with that.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_09: I can deal with that.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_03: But I'm like I was saying, like, like make sure you you don't do the like if you're gonna keep all your Van Halen's, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_03: Those aren't those aren't for debate.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_09: Yeah, my Beatles, I'm keeping all my Beatles, journey, um, things like that.
- 1:18:43SPEAKER_03: So um But everything else is fair game.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:18:47SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:18:48SPEAKER_03: So I think this is gonna be fun, man.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think it will be too.
- 1:18:51SPEAKER_03: Especially it gets more people involved, you know.
- 1:18:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, you know.
- 1:18:54SPEAKER_09: All right.
- 1:18:54SPEAKER_03: I like it.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_03: I I think this will be fun.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_09: So I'll just leave that CD right there.
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_09: And hopefully we'll hear from the other people in the next week whether they're gonna smash it or trash it.
- 1:19:04SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_09: All right.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_09: That works.
- 1:19:06SPEAKER_03: Should we reach out to Bob just in case?
- 1:19:09SPEAKER_09: Yeah, probably.
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_09: I'll s I'll send him a message.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just tell them to be proactive.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_09: Should I should I tell him about the the thing or should I just say go listen to the podcast?
- 1:19:19SPEAKER_03: Well, no, you you can you know, like give him like a brief he knows what to do, so we're not like blindsiding him or anything.
- 1:19:25SPEAKER_09: Right, okay, yeah, okay.
- 1:19:26SPEAKER_09: I'll do that.
- 1:19:27SPEAKER_03: Because he's got other things going on.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_09: He does.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_09: Yeah, he does.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_09: So okay.
- 1:19:30SPEAKER_09: Uh alright, that's it.
- 1:19:32SPEAKER_09: That's episode what did I say?
- 1:19:33SPEAKER_09: 294?
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_03: And we can open it up to anybody else that's listening and if they want to vote too.
- 1:19:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah, Jeff?
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Jeff?
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_09: Jeff will.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_03: Jeff wants to vote, that's fine.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_03: Um that gives us an even number, so we'll have to have more people.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_03: One more person.
- 1:19:48SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:19:49SPEAKER_03: Who do we need else know we know that uh Oh Kelly Because we got a year full.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, that's right.

- 1:19:59SPEAKER_02: All right, Kelly's in on this.
- 1:20:00SPEAKER_02: Wait a second.
- 1:20:01SPEAKER_02: We're putting Kelly in on this.
- 1:20:02SPEAKER_09: That's seven people.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_09: And and I guess I didn't understand her her beef.
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_09: Was it because we had said something about Joel and We said Joel, Melissa, and OJ were setting up.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_09: Setting up, but she was there too.
- 1:20:13SPEAKER_03: She was like she was also there.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_03: She's always there.
- 1:20:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she's always there.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_03: We just didn't mention her, so we know she's okay.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_03: So we got you and me, cousin Larry, the judge, bouncing Bob, Jeff, and Kelly.
- 1:20:27unknown: Right.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_03: Those are our seven.
- 1:20:29SPEAKER_03: So we have an odd number, so we have so it'll be there won't be any tie numbers.
- 1:20:33SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_03: So, there we go.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_09: And and and so they have to listen to it.
- 1:20:38SPEAKER_03: They gotta listen to it.
- 1:20:39SPEAKER_03: I mean, if they just want to fast forward to this part, that's fine.
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_03: I'm okay with it.
- 1:20:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
