- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, I know this is an SEC segment presented by PrizePix,
- 0:03Speaker 1: Georgia taking care of Vandy. Oh, yeah. I'm sorry. I'm
- 0:06Speaker 1: hijacking the show, but I'm doing this intentionally.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Take it over.
- 0:09Speaker 1: The disrespect must be as loud as the apology, Cole Thompson.
- 0:14Speaker 3: No.
- 0:15Speaker 2: How dare you?
- 0:16Speaker 4: No.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Offseason and into this season, disrespect the good name of
- 0:21Speaker 1: one Mr. Gunner Stockton. who completed 78% of his passes,
- 0:27Speaker 1: three touchdowns against the Vanderbilt Commodores. He's completing 75% of
- 0:32Speaker 1: his passes so far on the season. He is arguably
- 0:36Speaker 1: the most consistent an efficient quarterback in the SEC and
- 0:41Speaker 1: all of college football. I said it, that he was
- 0:44Speaker 1: the best quarterback entering this season within the SEC, and
- 0:48Speaker 1: you wanted to talk about Trinidad, Trinidad, Trinidad, and Trinidad
- 0:51Speaker 1: looked great against LSU, and they didn't look so great
- 0:54Speaker 1: the week after. And I want you to apologize to
- 0:57Speaker 1: Georgia Bulldog fans and Gunnar Stockton as well and his
- 1:00Speaker 1: extended family because Gunnar Stockton is playing arguably the best
- 1:04Speaker 1: quarterback of any quarterback nationwide.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 3: And you're ugly. No, look, okay. Okay. To be fair.
- 1:16Speaker 3: And I'm glad you brought this up. I brought this.
- 1:18Speaker 4: I'm we will see trade at Chambliss play against Vanderbilt
- 1:22Speaker 4: this weekend.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Looking forward to it.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Let's let's see what those set lines say before we
- 1:26Speaker 4: go any further. Um, but, but, but Tom, you are
- 1:28Speaker 4: a hundred percent right. Gunner stock is playing at an
- 1:30Speaker 4: elite level, a level that I don't think is getting
- 1:32Speaker 4: talked about the national perspective.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Um, Pretty much, there's one reason why. He's the Georgia quarterback.
- 1:37Speaker 4: And Georgia, since Matthew Stafford days, not really had like
- 1:40Speaker 4: that big game-changing quarterback.
- 1:42Speaker 3: You know, you just have the game manager, does a
- 1:44Speaker 3: lot of good things, doesn't put the ball in harm's way. Guys,
- 1:48Speaker 3: you need to watch that tape.
- 1:50Speaker 4: That was honestly Gunner Stockton's, I think, best game in
- 1:52Speaker 4: a Bulldog uniform.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Some of the throws that he was making.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Right before the Bama matchup, That's horrifying if you're an
- 1:59Speaker 4: Alabama defensive back. Because that's something that could absolutely terrify you.
- 2:03Speaker 4: The way that he was hitting his targets and striking.
- 2:06Speaker 4: There was a point where I believe it was somebody
- 2:08Speaker 4: dropped a ball. And I remember looking at that and going,
- 2:11Speaker 4: I hope that Gunnar chews his ass out on the sideline.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Because if you drop one of his balls. Do you
- 2:17Speaker 4: remember Baker talking about Emeka Ibuka? Like saying, don't make
- 2:21Speaker 4: one of my passes one-handed. Like you put your hand
- 2:25Speaker 4: on the football both times.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Same thing.
- 2:27Speaker 4: It's like, no, when you're making that good of reads,
- 2:30Speaker 4: that decisive plays, when you're able to step on up,
- 2:33Speaker 4: evade the pressure that's coming from.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Vanderbilt's front four, when you're moving and grooving.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Behind the line of scrimmage and making those decisive passes,
- 2:40Speaker 4: you better catch it. Like, you absolutely better get your
- 2:43Speaker 4: hands on it and make sure that I look pretty.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Because he's been doing it all season. He has won
- 2:46Speaker 4: a reception against 14 touchdowns.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I mean, he has just been lights out. He's consistent.
- 2:52Speaker 3: The way that he's able to read and survey the field.
- 2:54Speaker 3: He's not afraid to throw his body on the line.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Which I can appreciate too. He is not afraid to
- 2:58Speaker 3: get those hard yards. And he's playing competitive football. Like
- 3:02Speaker 3: I want to win.
- 3:03Speaker 4: And you can carry me out of Sanford Stadium. In
- 3:06Speaker 4: a body bag. Or in a pine box.
- 3:08Speaker 3: And I'll be good. By the way. My apologies. 13 touchdowns.
- 3:10Speaker 3: 1 interception. Still. He had several throws. That just were easy.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Downfield for like 40 plus yards. And that was really
- 3:17Speaker 4: the deciding factor in this game.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Early on.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Georgia Stevens was abysmal at times. They allowed as far
- 3:23Speaker 4: as many explosives. There was the one big touchdown pass,
- 3:26Speaker 4: I believe it was to Junior Sherrill. Now credit, part
- 3:28Speaker 4: of the reason it was a touchdown was they set
- 3:30Speaker 4: a corner blitz and nobody was able to pick him
- 3:32Speaker 4: on up down the sidelines and he was off at
- 3:34Speaker 4: the races because of it. So timely blitz that just
- 3:38Speaker 4: didn't go their way. And then another one they allowed
- 3:40Speaker 4: him to score with inside the red zone. And then
- 3:42Speaker 4: they shut him out in the second half. And the
- 3:44Speaker 4: offense still was trying to figure out its rhythm, but
- 3:46Speaker 4: they rushed for over 170 yards.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Dwight Villas made some big plays. Roda made a big play.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Lost and lucky had the catch of the day where
- 3:55Speaker 4: I have no idea how he was able to catch
- 3:57Speaker 4: that ball in stride as it hung in the air
- 4:00Speaker 4: and he ricocheted off of a Vanderbilt Commodore to move
- 4:02Speaker 4: and groove for like a gain of 40.
- 4:04Speaker 3: But this is a fun dynamic offense.
- 4:06Speaker 4: And when they're not shooting themselves in the foot with
- 4:09Speaker 4: miscommunication or bad execution in the second half of games underneath.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Mike Bobo, they look good.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Like honestly, if you look back at that Oklahoma game,
- 4:18Speaker 4: Part of me thought that defense, I mean that offense,
- 4:21Speaker 4: looked so bad because they were trying out new stuff.
- 4:24Speaker 4: They just knew they could play with their food because
- 4:26Speaker 4: it was a done deal against Oklahoma.
- 4:28Speaker 3: In this game, it kind of felt like, well, our
- 4:31Speaker 3: defense isn't playing up to our standards. But you know what?
- 4:34Speaker 4: We're going to just go back and do what we
- 4:35Speaker 4: do really well, and it's going to work because that's
- 4:37Speaker 4: what we have with a quarterback like Gunnar Stockton and
- 4:40Speaker 4: the consistency of what this offensive line has looked like.
- 4:42Speaker 3: So I tip my cap to you on one thing, Tom.
- 4:47Speaker 4: They, 1,000%, have, in my opinion, the most non-talked-about, highest-been-contending quarterback.
- 4:54Speaker 3: And you're going to talk about him a.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Lot more if he goes on into Tuscaloosa next week
- 4:58Speaker 4: and he's able to do what nobody else has done
- 4:59Speaker 4: this season and beat Alabama, and they got an offense
- 5:02Speaker 4: to do so.
- 5:03Speaker 3: What I can also.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Say is that it's very fun to live in a
- 5:06Speaker 4: world where, once again, here we are talking about Georgia
- 5:11Speaker 4: failing to meet expectations, and they still won 38-14.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Like, they still clobbered Vanderbilt.
- 5:18Speaker 4: It just didn't look pretty in the first half, and
- 5:20Speaker 4: you allowed two touchdowns, including two big explosive plays downfield.
- 5:24Speaker 4: And it's like, that alone is going to piss us off. Like,
- 5:27Speaker 4: that alone is not going to make us feel good
- 5:29Speaker 4: about ourselves. Welcome to the SEC, where the standard's a
- 5:32Speaker 4: little bit higher down now than she ain't.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I'll get right back to this clip from The Power 2,
- 5:36Speaker 2: our live show on college football addiction. But first, I
- 5:39Speaker 2: want to tell you about the PrizePix app. We appreciate
- 5:41Speaker 2: PrizePix for their support. You can play $ 5 there with
- 5:44Speaker 2: the code HMA, and all new users who win their
- 5:47Speaker 2: first $ 5 lineup get $ 150 in lineups instantly if they
- 5:52Speaker 2: use that code. Again, HMA. Give me the more on
- 5:55Speaker 2: Bajon Robinson's touchdowns. It's set at. 5, Cole, Tom, and I.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I'll pick this, which you should go do as well.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Give me the more on Tyler Shucks passing at yards, 254.5.
- 6:07Speaker 2: We appreciate price picks for their support. Now back to
- 6:10Speaker 2: the clip of the power to earlier in the show,
- 6:15Speaker 2: somebody asked who the most impressive team through the, who
- 6:18Speaker 2: the most consistent and impressive team through the first four
- 6:21Speaker 2: weeks was. And the implication was Ohio state through all
- 6:25Speaker 2: but one quarter against Texas and my only rebuttal to
- 6:28Speaker 2: that would be Georgia. And I understand they haven't played
- 6:32Speaker 2: a Texas, but man, I, at times I watch college
- 6:36Speaker 2: football and this season, especially, and I think this is
- 6:39Speaker 2: a bigger picture topic that would make for a great conversation.
- 6:42Speaker 2: If we weren't in the middle of a crazy season
- 6:44Speaker 2: where we can't even fit all of our topics into
- 6:47Speaker 2: an hour and a half every single week, doing two
- 6:49Speaker 2: shows a week. So we're doing more. So make sure
- 6:51Speaker 2: you are subscribed. I, I think that because of the parody,
- 6:55Speaker 2: because of the, NIL landscape because of the transfer portal
- 6:58Speaker 2: college football is becoming more like the NFL in the
- 7:00Speaker 2: way that you're never as good as you were the
- 7:02Speaker 2: last week. You're never as bad as you were the
- 7:03Speaker 2: last week. Case in point, Ole Miss LSU, then Ole
- 7:06Speaker 2: Miss Florida, then Florida, Missouri, right? Like you're going to
- 7:08Speaker 2: see swings of up and down. That's kind of why
- 7:11Speaker 2: I try to give Tom a little silver lining of like, man,
- 7:14Speaker 2: I think Penn state looks better against USC than they
- 7:16Speaker 2: did Northwestern, right? tell yourself that in the off season
- 7:18Speaker 2: and see if you believe it. So, but that, and again,
- 7:22Speaker 2: Florida state just dominated Virginia who blew out in C state,
- 7:25Speaker 2: who then loses to Louisville, who Florida state will lose
- 7:28Speaker 2: to Louisville. We will have that circle jerk that I
- 7:30Speaker 2: was talking about earlier in the ACC this weekend. It'll
- 7:33Speaker 2: be phenomenal to complete it. But when I think about
- 7:37Speaker 2: college football now, I don't know if anybody's good or
- 7:39Speaker 2: if we just have a lot of parody, like the NFL,
- 7:41Speaker 2: the teams that seem resistant to that are still Georgia,
- 7:45Speaker 2: Ohio state, Mostly Texas. I think there are other ones,
- 7:51Speaker 2: but Georgia is definitely up there for me. Alabama is
- 7:53Speaker 2: up there for sure this season.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:56Speaker 2: But they've even experienced some of it under the first
- 7:58Speaker 2: couple of years of DeBoer, but Georgia is the model
- 8:01Speaker 2: of consistency. And I think this game showed it. And
- 8:05Speaker 2: we'll certainly talk Bama, Georgia a lot this week, but
- 8:09Speaker 2: I think you're going to see it again coming up
- 8:11Speaker 2: here in about a week.
- 8:12Speaker 3: But, like, you know what you just said. You said
- 8:14Speaker 3: model of consistency. Here's the problem.
- 8:15Speaker 4: You go talk to Georgia fans when you say that
- 8:18Speaker 4: this team feels like it's a wagon and an unstoppable force,
- 8:21Speaker 4: and they'll find things to bitch about.
- 8:23Speaker 3: What you want to what?
- 8:24Speaker 4: No, no, what you want to what is why it
- 8:26Speaker 4: makes sense on why it is so consistent.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Because even when you think that you've.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Had a great performance, it still isn't held up to
- 8:34Speaker 4: the standard, which is different down in Georgia than anywhere
- 8:37Speaker 4: else in college football. They'll bitch about how, oh, he
- 8:40Speaker 4: should have gotten the sack on Blaise Berlowitz and Junior
- 8:42Speaker 4: Sherrill should have never gotten in for the 60-yard house call.
- 8:45Speaker 3: They'll find something to complain about with open.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Field tackling in this game. And that's the consistent part
- 8:50Speaker 4: about Georgia that I love.
- 8:52Speaker 3: They are different types of consistency, in my opinion.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Because Kirby Smart, I mean, you know, we talk about
- 8:56Speaker 2: the fans bitching about stuff. Kirby Smart holds them to
- 8:59Speaker 2: that same standard. Kurt's looking at all those things that
- 9:02Speaker 2: you just mentioned and saying, Hey boys, you won by what?
- 9:04Speaker 2: Do they win by four touchdowns? Hey boys, that wasn't enough.
- 9:07Speaker 2: You know, one that wasn't good enough.
- 9:09Speaker 3: He bitched about the game.
- 9:11Speaker 4: He'd be bitched about the offense after they won by
- 9:14Speaker 4: double digits against Oklahoma. He's like, Hey guys, we didn't
- 9:18Speaker 4: play a four quarter game. The results on the field
- 9:22Speaker 4: say otherwise, Kirby. Most people would say that's a great win.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Not for you.
- 9:27Speaker 3: No, no.
- 9:27Speaker 4: There's things that we have to execute better. You're running
- 9:29Speaker 4: laps Sunday morning.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Congratulations.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Process over results.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Pretty much. And again, that's where you are.
- 9:38Speaker 4: And I'll tell you what. I think that both of
- 9:41Speaker 4: you are right about one thing. And I said this
- 9:42Speaker 4: on SEC Unfiltered, so I'll say it here too. The
- 9:45Speaker 4: winner of the Alabama-Georgia game deserves to be number one.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I cannot pick at that point why you should. I agree.
- 9:50Speaker 4: They're the two most competitive teams so far at the
- 9:52Speaker 4: start of the season in the SEC. And one of
- 9:55Speaker 4: them is going to be 6-0.
- 9:57Speaker 3: You know who won't be 6-0? Ohio State.
- 10:00Speaker 4: So at that point, we're going to say somebody's got
- 10:02Speaker 4: to be number one. I think you can argue it
- 10:04Speaker 4: at that moment.
- 10:05Speaker 2: If Texas blows out Oklahoma, not that they're a great team.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I don't know that you're moving them off one, though.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I might agree with that for two. But is Texas'
- 10:13Speaker 2: win against Ohio State not the same as Georgia's win
- 10:15Speaker 2: against Bama if that happens?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Is it a complete and total obliteration?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Oh, well, yeah. If they win this game by 20,
- 10:23Speaker 2: that's different. But what if it plays out the same way?
- 10:27Speaker 2: A three-point win at the end. Like, I think it's
- 10:29Speaker 2: about the same.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Like everything, it depends on how it looks. Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 3: I'll tell you who I would put.
- 10:34Speaker 2: One of these two team wins by 14. I'm fully
- 10:37Speaker 2: on board with that.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I'll tell you what.
- 10:39Speaker 4: No matter what I will be putting until I see
- 10:41Speaker 4: a more complete performance from Texas' offense, I agree with that.
- 10:45Speaker 4: I'm putting the winner of this game at number one.
- 10:47Speaker 4: But that doesn't mean that they will be number one
- 10:49Speaker 4: when you see the rankings come out on Sunday and
- 10:51Speaker 4: we all lose all of our collective stuff.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Because, you know, they're idiots. Not to shoot cookie, Riley.
- 10:57Speaker 2: And we cannot help. Yeah, I get people comment all
- 11:01Speaker 2: the time that are like, man, I don't know why
- 11:02Speaker 2: you keep doing this on this channel. And I'm like,
- 11:05Speaker 2: you watch every video. Why are you upset about anything?
- 11:08Speaker 2: You know the show at this point. So that's us
- 11:11Speaker 2: with the AP poll. We're in that level.
