- 0:02Speaker 1: To Teas in a Pod with Teddy Mellencamp and Camra Judge.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Hi, guys, welcome to another episode of Two Teas and
- 0:18Speaker 2: a Pod with Teddy Mellencamp and Tamra Judge. You know what,
- 0:22Speaker 2: I didn't even change it. Even all this time, I
- 0:25Speaker 2: still said what you didn't want me to say? What? Hi,
- 0:30Speaker 2: another episode of Two Teas in a Pod and Teddy
- 0:33Speaker 2: Mellencamp and Tamra Judge.
- 0:34Speaker 3: You could say it all you want. I miss hearing
- 0:36Speaker 3: you say it.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to say something before we get into
- 0:39Speaker 2: all my shit? What are you doing? Tamera? I go,
- 0:43Speaker 2: I get some brain tumors, and then you decide to
- 0:46Speaker 2: quit the show. So Inburson, listen, listen, listen.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I'm doing the best I can do. I'm just at
- 0:58Speaker 3: a situation.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I'm just having a quitter I know.
- 1:03Speaker 3: And it's hard for me to say this to you
- 1:05Speaker 3: because you're going through something extremely hard and you're giving
- 1:08Speaker 3: me such motivation. But right now, all the things I'm
- 1:11Speaker 3: going through, and then on top of you, I'm just struggling. Wow,
- 1:15Speaker 3: I'm struggling.
- 1:16Speaker 2: We're going to unstruggle pretty soon because I can't be
- 1:19Speaker 2: you know, I can't be the one fighting here all
- 1:23Speaker 2: the time, doing all the things, and then not be
- 1:25Speaker 2: able to make fun of you when I recap o
- 1:27Speaker 2: see you next season, Like this is not fair, This
- 1:30Speaker 2: is rude of all the times to quit. Like, so
- 1:34Speaker 2: if me and Erica are going to recap the show
- 1:36Speaker 2: without you on it, and I'm gonna have to say
- 1:39Speaker 2: she's a quitter.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Well, I don't ever want to be a quitter. But
- 1:42Speaker 3: sometimes your mental health is a little bit more important
- 1:46Speaker 3: than the daala.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Well weird because I'm here right now.
- 1:51Speaker 3: But you push through things and you continue to act
- 1:54Speaker 3: like everything's okay on when you do your stories, and
- 1:58Speaker 3: you tend to poke fun in joke of your situation
- 2:02Speaker 3: and act like I'm okay, And that's good because I
- 2:05Speaker 3: think that's the drive and desire you need moving forward
- 2:09Speaker 3: for sure.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think I can say I've had
- 2:13Speaker 2: some of my darkest, saddest days since the twelfth when
- 2:17Speaker 2: this happened. But leading up to it, it's so wild
- 2:25Speaker 2: what kind of transpired to kind of get us here,
- 2:29Speaker 2: Because I mean I was at a horse show. I
- 2:35Speaker 2: remember going to my friend of Cole. I'm like, I
- 2:38Speaker 2: have the worst migraine I've ever had in my entire life.
- 2:41Speaker 3: This is before we went to New Orleans.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, this is before we went to Newrth. We had
- 2:45Speaker 2: just done a pod where I was kind of like
- 2:47Speaker 2: all over the place, and I remember not being able
- 2:50Speaker 2: to remember how to say certain words, and I was like,
- 2:53Speaker 2: that's weird, you know, like I just kind of got
- 2:56Speaker 2: to that place. And then I went to my friend
- 2:58Speaker 2: of Cole, I'm like, I must have a micro I've
- 3:00Speaker 2: never had one, and she was like, oh, sometimes that
- 3:03Speaker 2: happens to people when they're going through menopause. And I
- 3:07Speaker 2: was like, how dare her? I was like, well, you
- 3:10Speaker 2: might be right. I'm like, but either way, do you
- 3:12Speaker 2: have any Because she always has migraines, I'm like, do
- 3:16Speaker 2: you have any migraine medication? And she's like yes. So
- 3:19Speaker 2: then I took it and then I started like shaking
- 3:22Speaker 2: really bad at the horse show. And then when I
- 3:25Speaker 2: was at the show, I was riding and I didn't
- 3:28Speaker 2: know where. I was like I would like when you're
- 3:31Speaker 2: going to like part of riding is finding the distance
- 3:35Speaker 2: and like picking exactly where you want your horse to leave.
- 3:37Speaker 3: By the way, it's very dangerous that you were riding
- 3:40Speaker 3: and weren't stable.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Well, I didn't know. I wasn't stable. And now it's
- 3:44Speaker 2: not dangerous because I'm in a good place, but I
- 3:50Speaker 2: just felt this weird way. I mean, I still I
- 3:52Speaker 2: remember being so pissed that I was second and third,
- 3:54Speaker 2: I was like, eh, I rode like crap, like what
- 3:58Speaker 2: is wrong with me? And so that was kind of
- 4:00Speaker 2: the start of it. And the next day I felt
- 4:03Speaker 2: the same. And then I came and met you and
- 4:07Speaker 2: we went to New Orleans. Yes we got in a fight.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Yes, yes we got a little argument. I've noticed a
- 4:17Speaker 3: change in you in the past six months. I feel
- 4:20Speaker 3: you have pulled away a little bit. I thought you
- 4:23Speaker 3: were mad at me.
- 4:24Speaker 4: I noticed when we were doing.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Podcasts together you were very short. You wanted to get
- 4:28Speaker 3: through the rundown really quick. You didn't really want to
- 4:31Speaker 3: chat about it. And I called you and I asked you,
- 4:34Speaker 3: and you literally weren't even aware.
- 4:37Speaker 2: You're like what, Yeah, No, I wasn't.
- 4:40Speaker 1: No.
- 4:40Speaker 2: I remember it's always very like patchy my memory at
- 4:47Speaker 2: this point. And then I was in such extreme I
- 4:51Speaker 2: remember being such extreme pain when we left for New Orleans.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I don't know how you pushed through that.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Like I could barely walk. I couldn't see every second
- 5:01Speaker 2: that we weren't, you know, filming, I was. I would
- 5:05Speaker 2: have to lay in the bed. I remember you were like,
- 5:07Speaker 2: why don't you want to go out? Why don't you
- 5:08Speaker 2: want to do this? I didn't want to do anything,
- 5:11Speaker 2: Like I was an extreme, excruciating pain in my head
- 5:15Speaker 2: and you were.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Taking advilt, yeah, and was working.
- 5:19Speaker 3: We you know, after we we had a tight schedule,
- 5:23Speaker 3: like we landed, we got there, we started podcasting, we
- 5:27Speaker 3: had guests, then we got glammed, and during glam you
- 5:30Speaker 3: hit a wall and You're like, I don't want to
- 5:31Speaker 3: do this. I want to do it, And I'm like what.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like I don't want to get anything party,
- 5:35Speaker 2: I don't want to do this.
- 5:35Speaker 4: I want to do this.
- 5:36Speaker 3: And I said, yeah, come on, you're going to do that? Yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 3: And I was like, something's not right.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I was so I would say, I was so edgy.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And what ended up coming out was we got through
- 5:51Speaker 2: the weekend. We got through. We got through the weekend.
- 5:54Speaker 2: We had fun, and then I got home and I
- 6:00Speaker 2: went and like had plans with a friend. And that
- 6:04Speaker 2: night I was like, I feel terrible. I don't know
- 6:08Speaker 2: what to do. And then the next day I came
- 6:11Speaker 2: did we did the podcast together. And then the next day,
- 6:16Speaker 2: as we're starting the podcast, like I start crying to
- 6:20Speaker 2: you guys, and I'm like, I can't do it today.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I told you I go you need to go to
- 6:25Speaker 3: the hospital. You need to go to the hospital. Yeah,
- 6:27Speaker 3: And then Edwin took you to the hospital.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah. So then I honestly didn't know what to do
- 6:33Speaker 2: because clearly, you know, everything in my life is upside down.
- 6:39Speaker 2: And so I called my friend val actually and I
- 6:43Speaker 2: started like sobbing to her and I'm like, I need
- 6:46Speaker 2: you to take me to the hospital right now. I
- 6:50Speaker 2: think I'm dying. I can't see, I can't walk, I
- 6:54Speaker 2: can't even get out of bed Gary and she was like,
- 6:59Speaker 2: I'm with another friend at a doctor's appointment. So then
- 7:03Speaker 2: I called Edwin, and Edwin took me to the hospital.
- 7:08Speaker 2: At this point, I still thought they were going to
- 7:11Speaker 2: tell me you have migraines, like you have severe migraines.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Edwin had thought because one of his best friends had
- 7:17Speaker 2: had a brain hemorrhage, he thought that might have been
- 7:19Speaker 2: what it is. Because the part that's confusing to everybody
- 7:24Speaker 2: is I didn't complain about a headache to anybody but
- 7:27Speaker 2: my friend to call.
- 7:29Speaker 4: You in New Orleans.
- 7:30Speaker 3: You're telling me your ho is hurting. But prior to that,
- 7:31Speaker 3: I never heard a word about your head green.
- 7:33Speaker 2: But my head had been hurting for like six months.
- 7:36Speaker 2: But I was like, why.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Did you ignore it?
- 7:39Speaker 2: I think because so much, so much bad stuff was
- 7:45Speaker 2: going on right then that I didn't want to face
- 7:50Speaker 2: any of it. And I was like, I just need
- 7:52Speaker 2: to keep moving forward. And if I keep moving forward,
- 7:55Speaker 2: then everything's going to be fine.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Anywhere in you did you think that something was really
- 8:03Speaker 3: like the cancer had come back or.
- 8:05Speaker 2: No, Because I had just gone from my checkup, and
- 8:09Speaker 2: so I had gone for my checkup already and and
- 8:15Speaker 2: I was cleared and it was the first time in
- 8:17Speaker 2: three years that I didn't have any melanoma skin melanoma. Yeah, right,
- 8:22Speaker 2: So my skin check went well. Then I Edwin takes
- 8:26Speaker 2: me to the emergency room. He thinks it's a brain hemorrhage.
- 8:30Speaker 3: We wait, that makes sense because you kept telling me
- 8:32Speaker 3: why you're in the hospital, that.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Your brain was bleeding.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I'm like, where is she getting this from? Yeah?
- 8:37Speaker 2: And then I think Edwin pushed for me to have
- 8:40Speaker 2: a CT scan. Right away, and that's when they realized
- 8:44Speaker 2: I have over seven tumors. There was four or that
- 8:49Speaker 2: were removed, but they weren't removed there, so there was
- 8:54Speaker 2: four really large tumors that essentially they said, it's been
- 9:02Speaker 2: happening for at least six months, and I didn't really
- 9:05Speaker 2: understand what it meant. So we left. They took out
- 9:09Speaker 2: my I V's. We left, We went to Cedars and
- 9:13Speaker 2: then and Beverly Hills and then it was all really
- 9:17Speaker 2: a blur, like I, well.
- 9:19Speaker 3: It happened so fast.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it really did.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Like the way you told me in the group, I
- 9:26Speaker 3: think it was. Yeah, it was just I don't know
- 9:27Speaker 3: if it's just me or I was in the group
- 9:29Speaker 3: text but you you said to me you all thought
- 9:38Speaker 3: I was mental, but actually I'm on my deathbed.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I remember feeling like this is actually it.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Yeah, And I remember texting you back and said, no,
- 9:51Speaker 3: you're not, because if you're on yours, then I'm on
- 9:54Speaker 3: mine because I can't live without you.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I mean, it was really really hard. And I got
- 10:04Speaker 2: there and the doctors immediately were able. I mean, this
- 10:10Speaker 2: is incredible, but there was a doctor immediately able to
- 10:15Speaker 2: give me. I had a craniotomy with tumor resection, which
- 10:20Speaker 2: is where they removed for tumors from my brain.
- 10:23Speaker 5: But what the hardest part is that nobody wanted to
- 10:28Speaker 5: tell me what was really happening because they were scared,
- 10:32Speaker 5: and so I didn't know what was happening.
- 10:35Speaker 6: Like I thought I was fine, Like I thought I
- 10:37Speaker 6: could go home the next day, and like once the
- 10:41Speaker 6: tumors are out, I.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Thought I would be done.
- 10:44Speaker 6: I can't even tell you, guys, like I really didn't
- 10:48Speaker 6: understand anything, and it was such a bummer. And then honestly,
- 10:55Speaker 6: it was like Gangbusters.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Every friend that I've had over the last twenty.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Years, I don't even high school friends, my high school friends.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, I never heard about that.
- 11:08Speaker 2: My dad, my sister, my brother.
- 11:11Speaker 4: I got to meet your dad.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Oh gosh, he was. He was a real jam you
- 11:16Speaker 2: looking at me, He's like, who are you? He wouldn't
- 11:18Speaker 2: he pretended he didn't know anybody's name. But he was
- 11:21Speaker 2: really a godsend during us because I was wretched in
- 11:27Speaker 2: the hospital, wretched.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I think some of my favorite lines were when your
- 11:45Speaker 3: sister said, can you see me, Teddy, can you see me?
- 11:51Speaker 3: This is after your surgery.
- 11:51Speaker 4: I wasn't there.
- 11:52Speaker 3: She just told me about it, and you said, you
- 11:55Speaker 3: opened your eyes and you go Unfortunately, well.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Guy, there was one day where I went deep down.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I think I might have been with my friend Kelly,
- 12:04Speaker 2: where I went deep down the rabbit hole where Ice
- 12:06Speaker 2: was telling everybody Heath Ledger is stocking me. He's here,
- 12:12Speaker 2: and he is after me. I'm seeing him every single night,
- 12:16Speaker 2: and it's just getting to be too much.
- 12:18Speaker 3: By the way, we was scaring the shit out of
- 12:19Speaker 3: all of us.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Okay, so I got transferred into the Neurow ICU after
- 12:27Speaker 2: so I guess your train was Yeah. So after I
- 12:30Speaker 2: had my brain surgery, I guess, and they took out
- 12:33Speaker 2: the tumors. What they wanted to happen didn't happen, So
- 12:37Speaker 2: then they had to transfer me into the ICU.
- 12:39Speaker 3: They took out some of the tumors.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but then I was put on all this medication
- 12:47Speaker 2: and it honestly, I couldn't freaking tell you who came,
- 12:53Speaker 2: who I spoke to, what happened.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I think it's also the trauma of you know, digging
- 12:58Speaker 3: around in your brain, like mess around in there, and
- 13:01Speaker 3: you get done with brain surgery, it takes a while
- 13:04Speaker 3: for your brain to heal, and you were having swelling
- 13:07Speaker 3: problems and they and fluid problems. So they went in
- 13:11Speaker 3: and they were going they put a drain in. And
- 13:13Speaker 3: then in ICU, your last day in ice, you we
- 13:16Speaker 3: all got the call, which was really hard that we
- 13:20Speaker 3: were all in a group text must I should say,
- 13:23Speaker 3: and it was they were going to put I think
- 13:24Speaker 3: a shunt or something in because of the swelling in
- 13:28Speaker 3: your brain and so it you kept seem like you're
- 13:32Speaker 3: going backwards and not forward. And so we were all
- 13:35Speaker 3: like four o'clock in the morning, we all knew you
- 13:37Speaker 3: were going to get a scan, seven o'clock, you're going
- 13:39Speaker 3: to go into surgery. And I woke up to the
- 13:42Speaker 3: best news of my life that day when they said
- 13:45Speaker 3: she's turned a corner, like she's not having the surgery,
- 13:48Speaker 3: she's not having a shunt, the swelling's starting to go down,
- 13:50Speaker 3: and I'm like, thank you Jesus, Like we're finally because
- 13:53Speaker 3: for I don't know, a week and a half, it
- 13:55Speaker 3: was just all so scary and touchy, and sometimes we'd
- 13:59Speaker 3: you know, I'd see you and you would be completely
- 14:03Speaker 3: out in you. Every once in a while you'd hear
- 14:05Speaker 3: conversations going around and you'd jump into the conversation or
- 14:09Speaker 3: you were funny, or you're like, you know, Kyle was
- 14:12Speaker 3: there one day and you say, Kyle goes. You hated
- 14:16Speaker 3: the question what year is it?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Oh? My gosh, guys hated it every single I swear
- 14:23Speaker 2: this was like torture. Every single day. She'd come in
- 14:28Speaker 2: and she'd go, Hi, Teddy, what's the date today? And
- 14:34Speaker 2: I'd be like, ask me things I know.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Yes, ask me Angelina Jolie's kids' names. I said, ask
- 14:41Speaker 3: me Angelina's kids' names, and then anything culture or housewives.
- 14:46Speaker 3: I'm on it. I was like, I don't know how
- 14:48Speaker 3: old I am. I may not know how old I
- 14:52Speaker 3: am or what year.
- 14:53Speaker 2: And then I kept thinking it was nineteen ninety five.
- 14:56Speaker 2: And then I started cheating and I would write down
- 15:00Speaker 2: the date on the wall.
- 15:01Speaker 3: They wrote it down advantage me, and they wouldn't update it,
- 15:06Speaker 3: so then I couldn't get the date again.
- 15:08Speaker 2: So then I was like and in my mind, even
- 15:11Speaker 2: though I was wrong, because nobody was telling me, I
- 15:14Speaker 2: thought that I could get out once I knew the date,
- 15:16Speaker 2: and I would tell Kelly. I'd be like, once I
- 15:18Speaker 2: get the date, they're going to let me out. And
- 15:22Speaker 2: the only day that I got the date right was
- 15:26Speaker 2: Dove's birthday. And then this one day I looked at whoever.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I mean, every day there was a friend with me.
- 15:33Speaker 2: I didn't spend one second alone.
- 15:36Speaker 4: You have a great group of girls, you really do.
- 15:40Speaker 2: But one day I was like, hey, I don't know
- 15:44Speaker 2: why it feels so important, but I need to call
- 15:47Speaker 2: my friend Brooke from third grade. I think it's her
- 15:51Speaker 2: birthday today.
- 15:53Speaker 3: What And.
- 15:55Speaker 2: At this point, I couldn't even die on my phone. Remember,
- 15:58Speaker 2: I couldn't pick up, I couldn't call people.
- 16:00Speaker 3: They purposely try to keep your phone away from me.
- 16:02Speaker 2: They tried to keep my phone away from life. I
- 16:04Speaker 2: will tell you this.
- 16:05Speaker 4: You don't know what day it was.
- 16:06Speaker 2: You know what date it was.
- 16:07Speaker 3: You were kind of in and out, but you wanted
- 16:10Speaker 3: so badly to post on social media.
- 16:11Speaker 2: But I did. The weird part was is I knew that.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I was like, I got a call Brookes. So I
- 16:16Speaker 2: called Brooke and I'm like, hey, I don't know if
- 16:20Speaker 2: I'm right because I haven't been right in fifteen days,
- 16:23Speaker 2: but I think today's your birthday. And she started crying
- 16:26Speaker 2: and she was like it is wow. She's like, you
- 16:29Speaker 2: are the one person that has always remembered it.
- 16:33Speaker 4: That is crazy.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that is just crazy. And then what happened I'm
- 16:39Speaker 2: trying to think. Then a bunch of other shit went down,
- 16:43Speaker 2: and then there was also which I still have. There's
- 16:45Speaker 2: like I had I spray painted today, but like there's
- 16:48Speaker 2: a big hole right here from your train from one
- 16:53Speaker 2: of the surgeries, and like the back of my head
- 16:55Speaker 2: right here there's a big, huge, long scar, two of them. Yeah,
- 16:58Speaker 2: and I kept wanting to touch them. So then they
- 17:04Speaker 2: put me in freakin' restraints, hand restraints, And I got
- 17:09Speaker 2: to tell you, me and hand restraints, we're not friends.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I didn't take the hand restraints well. I would try
- 17:16Speaker 2: to rip my hands out of them, and then I
- 17:22Speaker 2: would I mean, there were guys. I know that I
- 17:25Speaker 2: make everything seem pretty good and peachy, but it was
- 17:30Speaker 2: a bad seventeen days for everyone in my life. And
- 17:34Speaker 2: the fact that my my dad helped me and that
- 17:37Speaker 2: he's still helping me, yeah, has really been a game changer.
- 17:41Speaker 2: And then.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I graduated from restraints though, yeah, then boxing gloves think yeah.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Then after I got the restraints off, then I got
- 17:50Speaker 2: little boxing gloves which were a little like white things,
- 17:53Speaker 2: so that I could just kept like little mittens. They
- 17:56Speaker 2: weren't little. They were big. They were big.
- 17:57Speaker 3: They were big, looked like big old boxing gloves.
- 17:59Speaker 2: But they were white.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I mean, they could have come into color.
- 18:02Speaker 2: At least they could have like tie died them, I know.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I mean then then they told me I was getting out.
- 18:09Speaker 2: So according to one of my nurses, what I was
- 18:14Speaker 2: being told and what I thought was going to happen
- 18:18Speaker 2: wasn't the same thing. So then I got really upset.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I kept thinking I was going to be able to leave.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I was really upset that I wasn't going to be
- 18:26Speaker 2: home for Dev's birthday. I was really sick of being
- 18:29Speaker 2: in the hospital. And this isn't a complaint. It's just
- 18:33Speaker 2: like there's things you don't even think about that are
- 18:37Speaker 2: happening in the hospital. Like there was a guy next
- 18:40Speaker 2: to me, and every night he would scream help me,
- 18:44Speaker 2: and I'd be like, I can't even help myself. I
- 18:51Speaker 2: can't even help myself.
- 18:53Speaker 3: That's why maybe I see, you wasn't that bad because
- 18:55Speaker 3: you had your own room, your own nurse, and you
- 18:57Speaker 3: had the you know, twenty four hour eyes on you.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but I was still had raged in the ICU
- 19:03Speaker 2: because I couldn't figure out how to use the TV
- 19:05Speaker 2: or the phone, so I just laid there. And then
- 19:09Speaker 2: every day I'd be like, do I get to go?
- 19:10Speaker 2: And I would harass the doctor because I had a
- 19:13Speaker 2: cell number. Every day I'd be like can I go?
- 19:16Speaker 2: And people would say, if you pass this test, then
- 19:20Speaker 2: you can go. But I never passed the test. I
- 19:24Speaker 2: was on a sodium trip. They made me take these
- 19:26Speaker 2: disgusting sodium pills that I threw up every day when
- 19:29Speaker 2: I chok.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Then it got to the point where the nurse says,
- 19:33Speaker 3: we'd like to get you up to go to the bathroom.
- 19:35Speaker 3: No thank you scared, No thank you scared? And I
- 19:39Speaker 3: went okay. So then four hours go by, I'm still there.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Then you go, you start ripping things off, and I go,
- 19:45Speaker 3: what are you doing? You go? The nurse said I
- 19:48Speaker 3: have to get up, and I'm like, okay, but wait
- 19:50Speaker 3: for her. You can't just get up. I have to
- 19:52Speaker 3: go to the bathroom. And I'm like, okay, hold on,
- 19:54Speaker 3: hold on. So everybody leaves, shut the door and use
- 19:58Speaker 3: you yell and you start yelling that and I'm like, great,
- 20:04Speaker 3: but you go, but I can't pee.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I couldn't pee guys, I do not know why I
- 20:10Speaker 2: could not peece. So finally I just had to look
- 20:13Speaker 2: at them and I'm like, just put a catheter in.
- 20:15Speaker 2: I'm fine with it.
- 20:16Speaker 3: And they were worried about doing that constantly because of
- 20:19Speaker 3: UTI and infection.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I was like, I don't care about a UTI. I can't.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Oh, yes, nothing you'd want on top of everything, listen.
- 20:26Speaker 2: At least I would have readily ready medication to clear
- 20:31Speaker 2: it up. But then we finally get out. Well, so
- 20:38Speaker 2: then I get so upset that I started saying dramatic
- 20:42Speaker 2: things about why I needed to get out, and it
- 20:46Speaker 2: started concerning everybody. But nobody told me that they were
- 20:49Speaker 2: concerned because everybody was scared of me. I wonder what
- 20:56Speaker 2: everyone was scared of me? And then one day, I
- 20:58Speaker 2: remember I had just thrown up like eighty five times
- 21:02Speaker 2: from the stupid salt pills that I hate that I
- 21:04Speaker 2: still had to take for two weeks after I got
- 21:07Speaker 2: out of the ICU. But essentially what happened was I
- 21:12Speaker 2: begged my dad. I'm like, Dad, can you please let
- 21:17Speaker 2: me go into like a postcare center, like where they
- 21:20Speaker 2: go when like people get plastic surgery, Like I'm not
- 21:23Speaker 2: doing an Yeah, like I'm not doing well in here,
- 21:27Speaker 2: I'm coming unhinged, I'm losing sense of.
- 21:30Speaker 4: And you were in there.
- 21:31Speaker 3: It was over two weeks, right, yeah, over two weeks
- 21:34Speaker 3: you were in there, and I think in the ICU
- 21:37Speaker 3: and between the two, yeah, between the two is over
- 21:40Speaker 3: two weeks.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah. And then once I got out of Cedars, then
- 21:47Speaker 2: I got to be with a nurse and like a
- 21:49Speaker 2: little hotel and things were a lot better. But I
- 21:52Speaker 2: got really really sad.
- 21:55Speaker 3: I think at that moment because I've talked to you
- 22:00Speaker 3: to that and you know, and saw you in the hospital.
- 22:02Speaker 3: But after you got to the hotel, we were able
- 22:05Speaker 3: to talk on the phone. It was like really the
- 22:07Speaker 3: first time. And I think it was then when your
- 22:12Speaker 3: your memory is coming back a little bit better, you're
- 22:14Speaker 3: really acknowledging what's going on. And that was the moment
- 22:17Speaker 3: that I was dreading because then you knew what was
- 22:20Speaker 3: going on with you, and.
- 22:22Speaker 2: That once I understood, then I got really sad. And
- 22:26Speaker 2: then God bless all my friends, but everybody wanted to
- 22:29Speaker 2: come visit me, and like, I'm not somebody that likes
- 22:32Speaker 2: people to visit me, like I want to just h
- 22:35Speaker 2: So it was like every day I don't want to
- 22:37Speaker 2: be like I booked so and so to come and
- 22:39Speaker 2: I was like, I will honestly get out of this
- 22:43Speaker 2: bed somehow and kill you if you invite one more person.
- 22:46Speaker 4: I think everybody was afraid of you being alone.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Yeah. So then when I was in the hotel, I
- 22:54Speaker 2: found out that I have two more tumors and my lungs,
- 22:59Speaker 2: one in each line, and then I had more in
- 23:04Speaker 2: my three more I think in my brain, but they
- 23:08Speaker 2: were too risky to remove. So then I was told
- 23:13Speaker 2: that I was going to have immunotherapy, and then so
- 23:17Speaker 2: I went and had my immune therapy yesterday, which I
- 23:20Speaker 2: feel absolutely terrible today, like I have the worst headache
- 23:25Speaker 2: and I'm like, I feel back to how I felt
- 23:27Speaker 2: at the beginning. But what I learned, which I'm so
- 23:34Speaker 2: grateful for. One of my nurses she told me, the
- 23:38Speaker 2: fact that you are in pain right now is huge.
- 23:41Speaker 2: It's great because it means that it's attacking the cancer.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Yeah. I wanted you to cancel today. I didn't want
- 23:50Speaker 3: you to do this, and you insisted on you were
- 23:54Speaker 3: going to be okay because I knew that last night
- 23:55Speaker 3: was tough on you. You didn't feel well at all
- 23:58Speaker 3: and I'm so worried because you don't know, you don't
- 24:02Speaker 3: know how to say no, and you just keep going.
- 24:05Speaker 3: You're the only person that I know that had brain surgery.
- 24:09Speaker 3: And three weeks later I was doing hot yoga and
- 24:12Speaker 3: walking on the treadmill. I had a damn forehead lift.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I couldn't do anything for two weeks.
- 24:17Speaker 4: I'm like, you.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Scare me because I want you to slow down, and
- 24:21Speaker 3: you so badly want to get back to normal life.
- 24:24Speaker 2: And I get that.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I get that completely, but we don't want you to
- 24:28Speaker 3: feel like you have to do this. Like your family
- 24:31Speaker 3: is here, your iHeart family is here, and they are
- 24:33Speaker 3: here for you. I am here for you as your friend,
- 24:36Speaker 3: like you don't have to push through. It's all right.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I think what you guys don't understand about me in
- 24:42Speaker 2: general is what gives me life is doing things that
- 24:46Speaker 2: I love. Like I love riding horses, I love doing
- 24:50Speaker 2: the podcast. I love being able to be with you.
- 24:52Speaker 3: You almost broke the damn internet riding the horse.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I love working out, and I every single
- 24:59Speaker 2: thing that I've done, I've asked my doctor permission. I
- 25:04Speaker 2: know you know, but guess what I'm not allowed to do?
- 25:06Speaker 2: Not bummed about this. Not allowed to drive.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Oh, by the way, pre brain tumors, you shouldn't drive.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Let's be honest, nobody wants to drive with you.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Something a lot of people have been confused by when
- 25:31Speaker 2: they hear like brain tumors or lung tumors or anything
- 25:35Speaker 2: like that, is they're thinking it's something other than melanoma.
- 25:40Speaker 2: But what can actually happen is melanoma can metastasize and
- 25:47Speaker 2: the organs to your other organs, and that's what happened
- 25:50Speaker 2: to me. So all of my tumors and whatnot are melanoma.
- 25:55Speaker 2: But yesterday is when I went and got my immunotherapy.
- 25:58Speaker 2: And as I'm sitting there, the doctor comes in and
- 26:02Speaker 2: I'm like, you know whatever, trying to be nice, and
- 26:07Speaker 2: you know, I hate having small talk with people about
- 26:11Speaker 2: my illness because I just want to feel better and
- 26:14Speaker 2: be back to normal. And he's like, so radiation starts
- 26:18Speaker 2: on Monday. And I was like, come again, I thought
- 26:21Speaker 2: I was just doing I think.
- 26:23Speaker 3: You've been told about the radiation many times. I think
- 26:27Speaker 3: you just don't remember, because I knew way back when
- 26:30Speaker 3: that your treatment plan was going to be some kind
- 26:32Speaker 3: of immune therapy and radiation. So you also, like, in
- 26:36Speaker 3: the conversations I've had with you in the past week,
- 26:39Speaker 3: you've never once mentioned anything with your lungs. And I'm like,
- 26:43Speaker 3: I don't know if she remember. I'm not gonna be
- 26:45Speaker 3: the wane to ask her about it, but I don't know.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I think my memory about anything other than the surgery
- 26:52Speaker 2: is completely on point. So where the tumors and everything
- 26:56Speaker 2: were in my brain, it temporarily can you know, lack
- 27:01Speaker 2: of memory and those types of things. But where I'm
- 27:04Speaker 2: completely blessed and very very excited is that, like sometimes
- 27:08Speaker 2: this happens to people and they have to relearn to walk,
- 27:13Speaker 2: they have to relearn to talk, none of that is
- 27:16Speaker 2: the case with me. I'm back to working out, I'm
- 27:19Speaker 2: back to being with the kids. I'm allowed to do
- 27:22Speaker 2: everything but drive. So for me, that's huge and I'm
- 27:30Speaker 2: I need for me, I need to be doing these things,
- 27:35Speaker 2: Like going into the horse show with Slate was one
- 27:39Speaker 2: of the first times I felt happy in a long time. Yeah,
- 27:42Speaker 2: and being able to do this makes me happy. I
- 27:46Speaker 2: don't like not being able to like do my job,
- 27:50Speaker 2: but something that we've really been on top of because
- 27:54Speaker 2: we talk to the doctors every single day and believe me.
- 27:57Speaker 2: My dad is freaking on it like no other. Is
- 28:01Speaker 2: that we're going to listen to the doctors on what's
- 28:03Speaker 2: too much, what's.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Enough, And you're gonna listen to your body, and I'm
- 28:08Speaker 3: gonna listen to my body.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I mean, I think the fact that like I can
- 28:12Speaker 2: sit and have this conversation shows massive improvement.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and you're getting better every day, like all
- 28:21Speaker 3: that is temporary from surgery, Like you're getting better. I'm like,
- 28:24Speaker 3: you are loads better right now than you were a
- 28:28Speaker 3: couple days ago. You know, we can sit on the
- 28:30Speaker 3: phone and have normal conversations on the phone.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to talk on the phone to people.
- 28:35Speaker 2: My dad did not want to talk on the phone
- 28:38Speaker 2: to people. But yeah, that's where we are, guys. I'm
- 28:42Speaker 2: feeling really positive. I have radiation starting Monday for a week,
- 28:48Speaker 2: and then immune therapy is every three weeks. That's just
- 28:54Speaker 2: one day. They have to spread it out because immunotherapy.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I didn't realize this, but immune therapy can you a
- 29:00Speaker 2: little harder than radiation. But I mean, I know this
- 29:05Speaker 2: has been a long podcast and it's been heavy topics,
- 29:09Speaker 2: but the main point of this is I wish the
- 29:14Speaker 2: second that I felt those headaches. I wish the second
- 29:17Speaker 2: that I started not feeling like myself, I would have
- 29:20Speaker 2: gone to the doctor and gotten checked.
- 29:23Speaker 3: That's why you have to listen to your body.
- 29:25Speaker 2: You have to. But I think it's you know, when
- 29:30Speaker 2: you're going through a lot of different changes, you make
- 29:34Speaker 2: a lot of justifications. Well, life gets.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Busy and you know you don't want to take the
- 29:40Speaker 3: time to go into the doctor, or you know, it's
- 29:43Speaker 3: just it's just life in general, and going through divorce
- 29:47Speaker 3: and moving from house to house and doing all those things.
- 29:51Speaker 4: You didn't think about it. You thought you were just
- 29:52Speaker 4: going to push through.
- 29:53Speaker 2: It and it was going to be okay. I mean,
- 29:55Speaker 2: I think it's pretty cool though that I figured it out,
- 30:00Speaker 2: Like I if I would have waited any longer, god
- 30:04Speaker 2: knows what would have happened. You know, Like I knew
- 30:07Speaker 2: that day I needed to go, and then I had
- 30:10Speaker 2: surgery a day later, you know, like they Yeah, that
- 30:14Speaker 2: was when I got to the point where I couldn't
- 30:18Speaker 2: go anymore. I knew it, And so I'm really grateful,
- 30:23Speaker 2: and I think that moving forward, you know, I've I've
- 30:28Speaker 2: changed a lot of things and in my life.
- 30:33Speaker 3: I think that's a really big thing for you, yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 3: is that you have to take time for yourself and
- 30:38Speaker 3: you don't have to do everything. I know your schedule
- 30:42Speaker 3: is the most important thing in your life and you
- 30:44Speaker 3: want to be able to I'm doing this, this is
- 30:45Speaker 3: this is this, like right now, going through treatment, Like
- 30:48Speaker 3: it's okay to lay event, it's okay not to feel good.
- 30:52Speaker 3: I know you want to get back to normal life
- 30:54Speaker 3: and that your drive right there. You'll be fine, girl.
- 30:57Speaker 3: I have no doubt you are going to be fine
- 30:59Speaker 3: because you just keep going and you are probably the
- 31:01Speaker 3: strongest person I've ever met in my life. In my life,
- 31:06Speaker 3: I have not even been to the gym in four weeks,
- 31:08Speaker 3: and I can't eat, you know, and you're the one
- 31:10Speaker 3: going through it. So I just admire you, thank so
- 31:14Speaker 3: many levels, and I love you so much.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I love you too, and I've really really missed you.
- 31:19Speaker 2: And I I never freaking thought that I would be
- 31:23Speaker 2: sad not to talk about Shep's jacked up relationship with
- 31:28Speaker 2: the chick from Sienna. I cannot even from the hospital.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I had to text Shep. I was like, what are
- 31:35Speaker 2: you doing? This is embursing, This is embarrassing, and He's like,
- 31:41Speaker 2: you don't know the full story, and I go, I
- 31:43Speaker 2: don't need to know the full story because what I saw, No,
- 31:46Speaker 2: but I need to get back into recapping. I'm excited.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I still don't know the date today, do you know, Tam,
- 31:55Speaker 2: what's the eleventh? Maybe the twelfth? I'm not sure.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Well, yeah, yeah, I know, and in all in due time,
- 32:02Speaker 3: you know, you just you don't know how you know?
- 32:06Speaker 3: Tomorrow is so we are here for you. I am
- 32:09Speaker 3: here for you. You can get on the pod. I'll
- 32:10Speaker 3: be more than happy you get on the pod with you.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I can't wait to your back full time. But just
- 32:15Speaker 3: know that you don't have to push it.
- 32:17Speaker 2: You don't well you have to push it, oh God,
- 32:21Speaker 2: because I.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Why are you gonna come film with me?
- 32:26Speaker 2: I am not saying that. I say that I personally
- 32:32Speaker 2: I already get shipped for being biased. I don't want
- 32:35Speaker 2: to have to go through a whole season of justifying
- 32:38Speaker 2: why term mcqui because of fricking lunatics like no, no, no,
- 32:46Speaker 2: You're gonna have to get that together and I'll.
- 32:49Speaker 4: Figure it out.
- 32:50Speaker 3: I'm just it's not about me right now. What I'm
- 32:53Speaker 3: going through is what I'm going through.
- 32:54Speaker 2: It's about you. Huh uh oh jeez, no, no, here
- 32:58Speaker 2: we go. Listen, this is too teas in a pod
- 33:01Speaker 2: and we've talked a lot about me today, so I'm
- 33:03Speaker 2: going to mention.
- 33:04Speaker 3: I mean, definitely you haven't helped my situation out a
- 33:06Speaker 3: little bit.
- 33:07Speaker 2: But it's not all you.
- 33:10Speaker 3: It's it's a multitude of things that are going on
- 33:13Speaker 3: in my life right now that are making it really
- 33:15Speaker 3: hard for me to.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I'd like to a housewife, Well, I'd like to see
- 33:20Speaker 2: those things play out on camera, because that's the housewives
- 33:24Speaker 2: are about, is seeing things play out on camera when
- 33:28Speaker 2: times are tough. So Tam, yes, yes, you guys don't.
- 33:33Speaker 2: I don't know what's going to end up happening. But
- 33:36Speaker 2: if Tam goes back, everybody can send me flowers. You
- 33:40Speaker 2: also need to get back on the horse.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Yes, well, hey, wait a minute, how is this turning
- 33:46Speaker 3: on me?
- 33:47Speaker 2: Geez? Well, I told you I was feeling better.
- 33:50Speaker 3: I know, I know, I know, I know. Can I
- 33:53Speaker 3: ask you a serious question that we haven't really talked
- 33:56Speaker 3: about too much? Maybe, how are you really feeling? Like? Mentally?
- 34:02Speaker 4: Like are you? I know you're so strong on the exterior.
- 34:06Speaker 2: I know you are.
- 34:07Speaker 3: I know that's who you are. I'm somebody that acts
- 34:09Speaker 3: like that all the time, and I'm just in the past.
- 34:11Speaker 2: You know, I don't know.
- 34:12Speaker 3: A few weeks I'm crumbling inside.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I would say that I'm doing significantly better. It was
- 34:20Speaker 2: so I can't when I didn't have like my wits
- 34:25Speaker 2: about me, and I felt lost. I felt so alone
- 34:29Speaker 2: and so sad, and like I had moments of being like,
- 34:33Speaker 2: I don't know that anyone's like given me like a
- 34:36Speaker 2: real hug, you know, like there's you know, I'm I
- 34:41Speaker 2: was really really sad. But I feel like right now
- 34:50Speaker 2: I'm starting to see the light and I'm starting to
- 34:54Speaker 2: think about the future, and I feel like for the
- 34:57Speaker 2: first time, I'm able to like set goals and for me,
- 35:03Speaker 2: a lot of shitty things have happened in my life
- 35:08Speaker 2: that I haven't talked about. You know, I'm not one
- 35:10Speaker 2: to like stew and like the past, but this definitely
- 35:14Speaker 2: was a wake up call. And you know, there's certain
- 35:18Speaker 2: things that I'm really grateful about, like you know, me
- 35:21Speaker 2: and Edwin being friends, being able to laugh, being able
- 35:26Speaker 2: to have him there. But also I would say, just
- 35:37Speaker 2: living in general, Yeah.
- 35:39Speaker 4: You're a fighter, You're gonna get through this.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so too. Oh, I need my hair
- 35:46Speaker 2: to grow out.
- 35:47Speaker 4: I think you're rocking the ball.
- 35:49Speaker 3: You're saying that as you And by the way, I'm
- 35:52Speaker 3: not gonna be that friend that's gonna shave my head
- 35:54Speaker 3: just because you did.
- 35:56Speaker 5: It.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Ain't even doing some crazy shit recently. You're my Britney's fears.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Trust me, That's how I felt lately. No, I got
- 36:04Speaker 3: I have a square head. I have a square head,
- 36:07Speaker 3: and I have a lot.
- 36:08Speaker 4: Of lumps and bumps, and oh.
- 36:10Speaker 2: You have a lot of lumps and bumps. I have
- 36:15Speaker 2: like nine million stitches. I can't even feel this part
- 36:18Speaker 2: of my head. But I'm so sorry about your lumps
- 36:22Speaker 2: and bumps.
- 36:23Speaker 3: And I think I have like horns that are trying
- 36:25Speaker 3: to come out at the top of my head, but
