- 0:13cultivate a mindset that leads you to create the best version
- 0:16of yourself you could ever imagine.
- 0:18Join Kim every morning from one of her favorite happy places,
- 0:21her chicken coop, along with all her chickens.
- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from my hotel room.
- 0:32Oh my gosh, Can you believe it? Not at the chicken coop this
- 0:35morning. Well, I happen to be in
- 0:37Minnesota and I happen to be very excited very early in the
- 0:42morning here, as you can probably hear by my voice.
- 0:45And I am attempting to learn how to use a Mr. Coffee Machine
- 0:50because I don't have one, and trying to figure out how I am
- 0:54going to make my LMNT drink, which is like a magnesium
- 1:01supplement drink that I have every morning, as nerdy as that
- 1:03is in a coffee machine. Anyway, it's always interesting
- 1:09to get into a hotel and try to get yourself settled in.
- 1:12And that's what I thought I'd talk about today because it's so
- 1:14funny to me how different the world is when you're not in your
- 1:18own bed, when you're out of your element, when you don't have
- 1:21your, your things around you and settling in.
- 1:25So I check in, I, my friend picks me up from the airport.
- 1:30I get, we have a 2 1/2 hour ride to the place where I am
- 1:35teaching. And it's so incredible because I
- 1:39had that time to spend with her that I never get to spend with
- 1:41her. It was so fantastic.
- 1:43And I get to be with her this whole week that I'm gone.
- 1:46And you know, we go to dinner and everything is fantastic.
- 1:50And then you come back to your room and you're by yourself, and
- 1:52it's not your room at your house.
- 1:54And you're trying to figure out, you know, how you want to settle
- 1:59in. And I've travelled all over this
- 2:01world, I mean, literally all over the world when I worked
- 2:04with Tony Robbins. And I'm used to hotel rooms, at
- 2:09least prior to COVID. And then, of course, you know,
- 2:12once that hit, no travel was happening anywhere and
- 2:16everything slowed down. And I got very used to being on
- 2:19the farm all the time. And officially, this is my first
- 2:22trip out teaching and not being on the, you know, the farm or
- 2:28with my family. And it was so fascinating
- 2:31because I came in the room and I was like, oh, wow, this is
- 2:34different. And there's no dog snoring in
- 2:37the corner because that many of you who follow me know Buford
- 2:40has a bulldog. So of course he snores.
- 2:42And I'm very used to hearing him at night in his dog bed.
- 2:44That's right at the end of my bed.
- 2:46And there is no Lucy little dog waking me up.
- 2:50And there is no sounds of the house or I can't hear the owls
- 2:54outside. And it was all very, very
- 2:57strange. And I realized I, as I weighed
- 3:00there thinking about, OK, need to sleep lots to do the next two
- 3:05days. And trying to put myself into
- 3:09that place of, OK, you got to go to sleep and felt like I was
- 3:13actually forcing the issue. And I figured, you know, this is
- 3:16such a great thing for me to recognize about how we force
- 3:19things instead of just laying there and take it, whatever is
- 3:21coming. Getting stressed about not
- 3:23sleeping does not help you sleep, right?
- 3:25We all know that. But yet every time we can't
- 3:27sleep, we look at the clock and we go, Oh no, I only have four
- 3:30more hours. I only have three more hours.
- 3:31And we know we're past it anyway, so what's the point in
- 3:34being stressed? So I laid there.
- 3:36I watched many episodes of the Gilmore Girls on my iPad and
- 3:41just kind of took it all in and said, you know what, I'm going
- 3:45to focus and meditate on this being an outstanding day
- 3:48tomorrow. About being effortless, of
- 3:50setting up my keynote, about setting up all the things that I
- 3:54need to and just enjoying being with my friends and being out
- 3:59here and being able to meet so many new people.
- 4:02It's a gift, but I had to rewire that in my head because I
- 4:06started down that train of I'm not sleeping, I'm not sleeping.
- 4:10And for my certainty, girl, that goes off the chart.
- 4:13So the lesson of the evening, take it all in.
- 4:18Don't judge it. Put judgement at the back of the
- 4:20bus, lie there, just try to relax in the best way you can
- 4:25and don't judge yourself for not really relaxing at the level you
- 4:28wish you were. But just chill out.
- 4:31Just take it back a moment. And I think if we showed up like
- 4:35that more in our lives, we'd be a lot more happy.
- 4:38So I'm going to do that again today.
- 4:40I'm going to go get ready for my show.
- 4:43I'm going to put this up so you all can hear it, and I will let
- 4:46you know how today goes tomorrow morning.
- 4:49All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 4:51will see you tomorrow. Bye.
