- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm back to Mark Simone onoor.

- 0:09Speaker 2: book there is on the Trump economy. You can get
- 0:12Speaker 2: it at Amazon. Also, he runs the committee to Unleashed
- 0:15Speaker 2: Prosperity and they put out the best daily briefing, news analysis.

- 0:22Speaker 2: for it. Go to Unleash Prosperity dot com. Steve Moore,
- 0:26Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 0:28Speaker 1: Hey, I'm doing well, Mark, how about you? I'm hoping
- 0:30Speaker 1: we we get this war over with in a successful way,
- 0:34Speaker 1: and I ran so we can see the price of
- 0:38Speaker 1: gasoline go back down to where it was, and I
- 0:40Speaker 1: expect that fully. I agree with Trump that once we
- 0:43Speaker 1: get the straits of Hormos open, and once we start
- 0:46Speaker 1: to get some of the infrastructure rebuilt that was bombed
- 0:50Speaker 1: by the Iranians, We're going to be headed right back
- 0:53Speaker 1: to low gas prices that we had before the war started.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And with Trump's pro drill baby drill policies.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I know we're having a temporary spike. It's not
- 1:02Speaker 2: as bad as the Biden days, but it's a spike
- 1:04Speaker 2: and in the end, if everything works out successfully, we
- 1:08Speaker 2: could have lower gas prices than we had a month ago,
- 1:10Speaker 2: right we could.
- 1:12Speaker 1: We may very well. And look, the world is a
- 1:14Speaker 1: wash in energy and better way. This is pretty amazing
- 1:18Speaker 1: that the number one country that produces oil and gas.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You know what country that is?
- 1:23Speaker 2: United States?
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well there now the number one producer of oil
- 1:27Speaker 1: and gas. You know that from reading the hotline right
- 1:30Speaker 1: this morning. And we've surpassed Saudi Arabia and even more amazingly,
- 1:35Speaker 1: I was shocked about this and that we are now
- 1:38Speaker 1: a net exporter of oil gas for the first time
- 1:41Speaker 1: in forty years. In other words, we're producing more oil
- 1:43Speaker 1: and gas than we consume. So you know, this drill baby,
- 1:47Speaker 1: drill strategy works. But there's a global price. See, people
- 1:51Speaker 1: are confused about why is it that the price of
- 1:53Speaker 1: gas has gone up here even though it hasn't disrupted
- 1:57Speaker 1: our supplies of oil and gas, just the in oil
- 2:01Speaker 1: in the Middle East. And answer is because it's a
- 2:02Speaker 1: global commodity. So you know, even though we're producing as
- 2:06Speaker 1: much oil and gas as ever here in the US,
- 2:08Speaker 1: when you get a big disruption like you're seeing in
- 2:10Speaker 1: the in the Middle East with the Saudi Arabian oil,
- 2:13Speaker 1: et cetera. That that will cause the price to rise everywhere.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So but anyway, it's a policy. Can you imagine, by
- 2:22Speaker 1: the way, Mark, if we had not done drill, baby drill,
- 2:25Speaker 1: we'd be paying eight nine dollars a barrel of gas.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And by the way, I was on a radio show
- 2:30Speaker 1: this morning in California. There are some gas stations they're
- 2:33Speaker 1: paying eight bucks a gallon in California.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah, their average is over five dollars. Now that is
- 2:39Speaker 2: mostly due to Newsome in his climate change nonsense.
- 2:42Speaker 1: That's right, that's right. So this is what's so ironic
- 2:45Speaker 1: as Gavin Newsom, who's the leading contender for the Democratic
- 2:49Speaker 1: nomination in twenty twenty eight, running around the country saying, oh,
- 2:52Speaker 1: you know, Donald Trump is causing gas prices to rise.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I'm like, wait a minute. You know, where are the
- 2:57Speaker 1: gas prices the highest in California by a mile. You know,
- 3:00Speaker 1: there are about a dollar fifty above the national average,
- 3:03Speaker 1: and gas prices there because of his own policies, and
- 3:06Speaker 1: then he blames on Trump for that. But look, I'm
- 3:09Speaker 1: confident we're going to see these prices come down, you know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: in a few weeks and that'll be blessed relief.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. Newsome also his state, California has a
- 3:19Speaker 2: seventy cents a gallon tax on guests. How do they
- 3:22Speaker 2: justify something like that.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a big debate in the in the legislature
- 3:27Speaker 1: there in California about why don't we suspend the gas
- 3:30Speaker 1: tax for a while while, you know, and then when
- 3:32Speaker 1: they and the Democrats all voted that down. You know,
- 3:35Speaker 1: by the way, it's the Blue states that have the
- 3:37Speaker 1: highest the gas prices. So the states with the highest
- 3:40Speaker 1: gas prices there are California number one, Washington State number two,
- 3:44Speaker 1: Hawaii number three, Oregon number four. You know, you just
- 3:48Speaker 1: go down the list, and New Jersey has high taxes. Incidentally,
- 3:52Speaker 1: there's another story related to this, because I know you
- 3:54Speaker 1: have so many listeners in the New York metropolitan area
- 3:58Speaker 1: New Jersey. Did you see that the New Jersey is
- 4:03Speaker 1: losing one of its oil companies that's moving, I believe
- 4:07Speaker 1: to Texas. See what a shock. Yeah, and I think
- 4:10Speaker 1: it's the exon of New Jersey. And so you know,
- 4:13Speaker 1: Standard Oil was basically practically founded in New Jersey and
- 4:18Speaker 1: now they're moving out. I mean it just shows these
- 4:20Speaker 1: high tax states are getting killed by the low tax
- 4:22Speaker 1: blue states.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Even the founder, as you report, the founder of Starbucks,
- 4:27Speaker 2: Howard Schultz, is leaving Washington State to move to Florida.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Hot did she everything you see that happen?
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's funny. And by the way, Schultz
- 4:39Speaker 1: is a liberal guy. I mean he's a bleeding heart liberal.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And even he's moving the low states up, that means
- 4:46Speaker 1: you're gonna see a lot of billionaires moving to Texas
- 4:49Speaker 1: and Florida and Tennessee and states that don't impose income taxes.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And that's why. By the way, New Jersey, you know,
- 4:56Speaker 1: until the I think it was around the mid nineteen sixties,
- 4:59Speaker 1: did not happen in tax and it might have been
- 5:01Speaker 1: in the early seventies. Day about the income tax. Now
- 5:03Speaker 1: you have in New Jersey as the one of the
- 5:05Speaker 1: highest income taxes in the country. And gee, is it
- 5:08Speaker 1: surprising people are leaving New York, New Jersey, Connecticut with
- 5:11Speaker 1: the high income taxes. I don't think it is.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, for a young Democrats listening right, explain this
- 5:16Speaker 2: to them. Florida, no income tax, Texas, no income tex
- 5:20Speaker 2: Yet they're booming, aren't they.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah, And they have a lot of their budget surpluses,
- 5:24Speaker 1: whereas New York, New Jersey, Connecticut are struggling with the
- 5:27Speaker 1: highest income taxes to balance the budgets.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And what's the secret of that? Just hold your costs down,
- 5:33Speaker 2: control your budget.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Well, if you have if you have nine states that
- 5:38Speaker 1: have no income taxes, we do in the United States,
- 5:41Speaker 1: and they're growing twice as fast as the states that
- 5:44Speaker 1: have high income taxes. Do you know the answer to this?
- 5:47Speaker 1: Maybe those high income tax states when they want to
- 5:50Speaker 1: lower their income tax rates, But in New York and
- 5:53Speaker 1: New Jersey they talk about raising them again. California is
- 5:55Speaker 1: talking about an eight percent wealth tax on top of
- 5:59Speaker 1: the highest income tax. I mean, these Democrats, all they
- 6:02Speaker 1: want to do is tax, tax, tax, spend, span spend.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, Steve Moore in the hotline today, this is
- 6:07Speaker 2: a great idea the TSA. You talk about privatizing them.
- 6:12Speaker 2: It makes perfect sense. Wouldn't that save us a fortune
- 6:14Speaker 2: and be more efficient?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean people are very frustrated with how long
- 6:19Speaker 1: it takes to get through the I travel a lot.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I know you do, and I know a lot of
- 6:23Speaker 1: your listeners do, and you know when you go to
- 6:25Speaker 1: the TSA. Now, especially that the government, that agency of
- 6:28Speaker 1: government has been shut down, thank you, Chuck Schumer. It's
- 6:31Speaker 1: at some point some cities it's taking two to three
- 6:34Speaker 1: hours to get through TSA and to get through the security.
- 6:39Speaker 1: That if we had a privatized system, you could get
- 6:42Speaker 1: through in fifteen.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Minutes, really and save a lot of money in the process,
- 6:46Speaker 2: wouldn't we.
- 6:47Speaker 1: You would save a lot of money. Yep.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, But when they the airline businesses, the
- 6:54Speaker 2: Trump has always said the worst business in the world.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You're always going to lose money in the airline business.
- 6:59Speaker 2: But that doesn't mean that airports have to be run inefficiently.
- 7:01Speaker 2: That's a whole different business, isn't it.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah, why does the government have to run airports? They
- 7:07Speaker 1: don't run anything very well. They don't run the postal
- 7:09Speaker 1: service very well. They can't balance the budget, they can't
- 7:11Speaker 1: fight crime, they can't do any of the financial stuff.
- 7:14Speaker 1: So why would we Why would we turn over that
- 7:17Speaker 1: operation to UH to government employees. I guarantee you we'd
- 7:21Speaker 1: have a much more efficient system if if the airports
- 7:25Speaker 1: and the and the and the TSA security was done
- 7:29Speaker 1: by private employees. And by the way, the reason the
- 7:31Speaker 1: Democrats don't want to do that is because they're all
- 7:33Speaker 1: government employees and they're all members of unions.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Well, if you want to read stories like the great
- 7:38Speaker 2: news and analysis, the best daily briefing comes from the
