- 0:40Speaker 1: Meat Eater Live Tour. We're currently sitting in the Wilmath
- 0:43Speaker 1: Theater in Missoula, Montana, waiting to take the stage for
- 0:47Speaker 1: our seventh of ten shows. Marco, how'd you get wrapped
- 0:51Speaker 1: up in this deal?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Well?
- 0:52Speaker 4: I normally tour with bands. Here, I'm a promoter rep
- 0:55Speaker 4: for AG just helping out Ryan here, making sure the
- 0:58Speaker 4: shows go smooth.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Steve observation the other night that we're now more banned
- 1:02Speaker 1: than we are anything on this tour at this point.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I don't I don't remember making that.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You told somebody you're like, we're now more. It was
- 1:10Speaker 1: at the Anaheim show where Steve's buddy joined us and
- 1:13Speaker 1: he said we're now mostly banned around here.
- 1:17Speaker 3: You must be think of someone else. I mean, I
- 1:20Speaker 3: feel like I feel like me and Phil are a band.
- 1:24Speaker 5: It's like Merle Haggart, And you know Merle Haggart's harmonica player.
- 1:30Speaker 3: That Marco's middle name is Elvis.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I told you, I know Marco Elvis.
- 1:37Speaker 6: Marco was born in the Bronx. Well, I know he's
- 1:41Speaker 6: gonna get beat bad right now.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Man, it's gonna be pretty bad.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Marco, How do you feel about your chances at need
- 1:49Speaker 1: Eater Trivia?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Not good?
- 1:51Speaker 6: But I'm happy to be here. But just think about
- 1:53Speaker 6: think about his uh, think about how his how self
- 1:57Speaker 6: confident he is. Just to walk in the room, you're
- 2:00Speaker 6: just gonna get spank.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Smile on his face, and ignorance is less smile on
- 2:06Speaker 3: his face. He does.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Marco joined the band about halfway through the tour. What
- 2:09Speaker 1: do you call that fancy instrument? It's a little cahone,
- 2:12Speaker 1: It's a little box drum. Steve was very impressed yesterday
- 2:15Speaker 1: by the music you had coming out of that thing.
- 2:18Speaker 6: You know, he's got a little box you sit on.
- 2:20Speaker 6: It looks like an apple crate, and dude, it's like
- 2:23Speaker 6: a whole drum set. Yeah, if I was the drum industry,
- 2:26Speaker 6: I'd be intimidated by that box, because why buy drums
- 2:31Speaker 6: when you can get that little box made?
- 2:32Speaker 3: A box?
- 2:32Speaker 4: Man, it's called what it's called a cahone c A
- 2:37Speaker 4: j O N comes from Flamenco music. That's where it
- 2:40Speaker 4: originated from. Just used two company dance performances. You can
- 2:46Speaker 4: throw him a bone. You wouldn't even know where to start.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I thought about it, but then I didn't. I had
- 2:53Speaker 1: something music related, pulled it out of the game. Artie.
- 2:56Speaker 1: How you think you're gonna do it? Trivia? Today?
- 2:58Speaker 3: He'll do good? Hi, fair to middle? Okay, No, he's
- 3:01Speaker 3: gonna be good.
- 3:02Speaker 1: All right, good. Well. This is a ten round quiz
- 3:05Speaker 1: show with questions for meat eaters four verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and cooking, and there is a prize. Meat eater will
- 3:12Speaker 1: donate five hundred dollars to the conservation organization of the
- 3:16Speaker 1: winners choosing Clay. How are you holding up on the
- 3:19Speaker 1: tour so far?
- 3:20Speaker 3: Man, it's a lot of fun. It's taxing.
- 3:26Speaker 5: I just feel like this is my new life. Like
- 3:30Speaker 5: it's just like I don't know, it's just like I'll
- 3:33Speaker 5: sleep on a bus, I talk to my family on
- 3:36Speaker 5: a on a phone.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I play music.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Phil observed this morning that he's he's at about
- 3:42Speaker 1: sixty two. Oh really, m yeah, could.
- 3:46Speaker 5: You put a number on it, Clay Man, I'm I'm
- 3:48Speaker 5: running like eighty three.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Oh that's pretty good.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Feel pretty good?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Good for you, Clay. Now, on the tour, we've been
- 3:55Speaker 1: pulling our audience each night and using that data as
- 3:58Speaker 1: part of a live game show. So nearly fifteen hundred
- 4:01Speaker 1: people have taken our survey. Here are five things we've
- 4:06Speaker 1: learned so far. When it comes to believing in Bigfoot,
- 4:09Speaker 1: Boise was the most likely to believe in Bigfoot, with
- 4:12Speaker 1: thirty six percent of audience members saying they think he's real.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Sacramento was the least likely to believe in Bigfoot at
- 4:20Speaker 1: twenty nine percent, and in between them was San Diego
- 4:23Speaker 1: at thirty four percent.
- 4:25Speaker 6: You recognize that's people being cute. Explain that's they're just
- 4:31Speaker 6: being cute. They're out at night, they're having fun, they're
- 4:34Speaker 6: putting down cute answers.
- 4:37Speaker 1: If you know that, though, then why don't you answer
- 4:39Speaker 1: more accurately?
- 4:42Speaker 6: Because I don't know how cute they're like. It's hard
- 4:45Speaker 6: to anticipate how cute they are being. Okay, but you
- 4:47Speaker 6: know they're being some level. Yeah, they don't act like that.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Percentage of people doesn't actually believe that.
- 4:52Speaker 1: I'll tell you it's an anonymous survey they're taking. I
- 4:54Speaker 1: don't know who's answering what. It just goes into a
- 4:57Speaker 1: big pot. But Steve is convinced they're trying to manipulate
- 5:01Speaker 1: the results.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Now that's part of the game. They're just being cute.
- 5:05Speaker 7: Definitely part of the game. But what Steve's saying is
- 5:08Speaker 7: if you were to put a gun to those people's
- 5:11Speaker 7: heads and.
- 5:11Speaker 8: Say I was I was envisioning just that scenario.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Is that a new game we play?
- 5:16Speaker 6: Because yeah, okay, I got a game. Yeah, do a
- 5:19Speaker 6: survey like then put a gun to their head and
- 5:21Speaker 6: do it again.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Now, when it comes to wanting grizzly a survey with
- 5:27Speaker 1: a gun, when it comes to know who you're voting for,
- 5:34Speaker 1: When it comes to wanting grizzly bears in their home state,
- 5:37Speaker 1: San Diego and Salt Lake had very different responses. Forty
- 5:41Speaker 1: nine percent of Salt Lake outdoorsmen said they wish grizzlies
- 5:45Speaker 1: were in Utah, compared to seventy three percent of San
- 5:49Speaker 1: Diego outdoorsmen saying they wish grizzlies were in California.
- 5:53Speaker 6: Yeah, a lot tougher crowd in San Diego in what way,
- 5:57Speaker 6: because they can they can hack it. They can hack
- 5:59Speaker 6: a little riff. Probably just got a lot of military there,
- 6:02Speaker 6: so they like, we had tons of veterans and tons
- 6:05Speaker 6: of military in San Diego and they're not scared of bears. Well,
- 6:10Speaker 6: and then you get Salt Lake City and they're scared.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I thought it was because the bears would even if
- 6:14Speaker 2: they were in California, they'd go nowhere near San Diego,
- 6:17Speaker 2: so they felt comfortable saying that they could come in.
- 6:19Speaker 5: But I think it has to do with the California
- 6:22Speaker 5: have an affinity for grizzlies because of it's like they're
- 6:26Speaker 5: you know, on their flag and.
- 6:27Speaker 3: It's state animals, State animals. I'll tell you another thing.
- 6:29Speaker 6: We had a ton of spear fishermen in San Diego,
- 6:32Speaker 6: so they're already used to the dealing with the mental
- 6:35Speaker 6: stress of great whites. Okay, tons of spearfish mets show
- 6:41Speaker 6: they're used to the mental stress of dealing with great whites,
- 6:43Speaker 6: and they're like, Okay, a bear big deal.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I'm with Artia.
- 6:48Speaker 5: I think I think it could also be that people
- 6:50Speaker 5: in very urban places really don't have to deal with
- 6:54Speaker 5: the consequences of it.
- 6:56Speaker 7: And people in very urban places may be thinking of
- 6:59Speaker 7: something else. When you say bears in the state, have.
- 7:04Speaker 6: You been, They're like, yeah, man, I don't know if
- 7:05Speaker 6: I need to already have to do a lot of
- 7:07Speaker 6: pop bears.
- 7:07Speaker 3: I don't know if I need a grisly bear throwing.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Now, when it comes to largemouth bass, we learned that
- 7:13Speaker 1: about half of the anglers in Mesa and Sacramento do
- 7:16Speaker 1: have eaten one fifty five percent in sacrament in the
- 7:19Speaker 1: Sacramento audience have eaten a large mouth, and fifty eight
- 7:23Speaker 1: percent of Mesa anglers have eaten a large mouth? Is
- 7:27Speaker 1: that what you about expected?
- 7:29Speaker 3: I didn't have any context for that question.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Okay, what if we I was like saying, how many
- 7:33Speaker 5: people in here have eaten a hamburger?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Then I'd be like, well, it'd be one hundred percent.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I think, yeah.
- 7:38Speaker 3: So, but I knew that the question. I knew it
- 7:40Speaker 3: was like, oh, wait a minute, people don't eat large
- 7:42Speaker 3: couf bas.
- 7:43Speaker 5: There must be something here. This is not a gimme,
- 7:46Speaker 5: So I didn't have a lot of context for clay.
- 7:48Speaker 5: When was the last time you ate a large mouth bass?
- 7:50Speaker 5: I mean we most of the fish that I'm catching
- 7:53Speaker 5: and eating in Arkansas would be catfish and crappie stuff
- 7:57Speaker 5: that people give me. It's been a while since I've
- 7:59Speaker 5: eaten bass. So no one brings you a bass play now, you.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Wouldn't think it's weird though if they did either, not
- 8:05Speaker 1: at all. Okay, not taboo your neck of the woods.
- 8:08Speaker 9: No.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Now, when it comes to America's most popular big game animal,
- 8:12Speaker 1: we learned that twenty four percent of folks at the
- 8:14Speaker 1: Anaheim Show have killed a white tail, which is about
- 8:18Speaker 1: twice as many as I expected. Were you guys surprised
- 8:20Speaker 1: by that number? Twenty four percent of them killed the
- 8:22Speaker 1: white tail?
- 8:23Speaker 3: No?
- 8:23Speaker 1: You thought that was uh? That was on red on brand.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I think I had a higher number.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Okay, what if we asked that question in Arkansas.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Oh of sportsman, may it would one hundred percent percent
- 8:34Speaker 3: of them?
- 8:34Speaker 6: Noaa, the nineties, it's not gonna be one hundred percent.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Well, but but just like the people that took the survey,
- 8:45Speaker 5: if you had a room full of people that bought
- 8:47Speaker 5: tickets to meet you're live. I mean, you know what
- 8:51Speaker 5: means right, well, but I mean, I'm just saying it'd
- 8:55Speaker 5: be ninety eight what.
- 8:58Speaker 3: You said to his head? And there he comes, comes over.
- 9:06Speaker 1: And finally, the last notable thing we learned is that
- 9:09Speaker 1: Clay Newkeomb knows his fellow Hunters and Anglers best. Of
- 9:13Speaker 1: these six survey game shows, so far, he's won three
- 9:17Speaker 1: of them. Clay, what do you think makes you so
- 9:19Speaker 1: good at the show. You're just a man of the people.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Well, Steve, Steve is unwilling to play the game, okay,
- 9:25Speaker 5: Like he like, I know that people are trying to
- 9:28Speaker 5: be cute, and I'm I have an underground social scientist
- 9:34Speaker 5: in a way. Okay, so I'm like reading the room.
- 9:36Speaker 5: I have him bring the lights up so I can
- 9:38Speaker 5: look in people's eyes. Sure, and I listened to that
- 9:40Speaker 5: Aussie wind podcast and the Magician.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Okay, so I kind of know what's up a mentalist. Yeah,
- 9:47Speaker 1: Clay Clayton not only wins, but he dominates too. Well,
- 9:49Speaker 1: it's just well people, Clay. Now, the Shelby Index for
- 9:55Speaker 1: today's show is a three, so our winner should get
- 9:58Speaker 1: six correct answers, and with them we're onto the game
- 10:01Speaker 1: of trivia. Play the drop, Phil, Look, I need to
- 10:06Speaker 1: know what I stay under wind everything? How's that just
- 10:11Speaker 1: tend to win everything?
- 10:19Speaker 3: Demon suckers?
- 10:22Speaker 1: How's does Shelby index holding up these days? Pretty accurate? Yeah,
- 10:27Speaker 1: we'll look at it again, but it was just a
- 10:29Speaker 1: few months ago we visited and it was pretty dang close.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Question one, this will be multiple choice, and the topic
- 10:37Speaker 1: is fishing. Which of these lures has caught the most
- 10:42Speaker 1: world record fish? Is it spoons, crank baits, poppers or jigs?
- 10:50Speaker 1: Which of these lures has caught the most world record fish? Spoons,
- 10:57Speaker 1: crank baits, poppers, we're jigs, Dude, I might go on
- 11:05Speaker 1: a limb here. Okay, Marco, do you fish at all?
- 11:10Speaker 1: They shaking his head. No, okay, he's gonna put down
- 11:12Speaker 1: that drum he's got. Which of these lures has caught
- 11:17Speaker 1: the most world record fish? Huh? Spoons, crank baits, poppers, jigs.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Now, Randal, I gotta hold my board up here like
- 11:27Speaker 2: this to block so I can't well, I can see you're.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Looking giant mirror. No, I just don't want to look
- 11:32Speaker 1: at yours.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I'm trying to.
- 11:33Speaker 1: It's very honest that I'm putting down what I put down. Okay,
- 11:37Speaker 1: and he's going out on a limb. He declared, Is
- 11:39Speaker 1: everybody ready? Randall, yes, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 11:45Speaker 1: We have Steve saying poppers. Just sure, go ahead?
- 11:50Speaker 3: What he got because I think all the salt water stuff, dude.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Marco saying jigs. Rte saying spoons, Randall saying spoon, Chili
- 12:01Speaker 1: saying jigs, Cal saying spoons, Clay saying spoons. The correct
- 12:06Speaker 1: answer it's jigs, Marco. According to the i g f
- 12:16Speaker 1: A Record books, jigs have caught over one thousand world records.
- 12:20Speaker 1: It's nearly five times as many. A second place, which
- 12:23Speaker 1: are spoons. After that, it's plastic worms, crank baits, spinners,
- 12:28Speaker 1: swim baits, and poppers.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Well, Marco's got a perfect game.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Wow, Mark, I wasn't thinking about the sheer.
- 12:35Speaker 3: How can you have a I'll explain a thousand records?
- 12:38Speaker 3: Like how many records are there?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Brown bottle heads a lot of fresh water. They track
- 12:43Speaker 1: every fish in the world.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I should have put that down.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Question two, white yellow perch, the surf perch. Go ahead,
- 12:51Speaker 1: how long can you go? You think? Questions? The topic
- 12:55Speaker 1: is gear headquartered in Vermont. This legendary company, and he says, quote,
- 13:01Speaker 1: at our core, we are a fly fishing and wing
- 13:04Speaker 1: shooting brand. The topic is gear. Headquartered in Vermont, this
- 13:11Speaker 1: legendary company says, quote at our core, we are a
- 13:16Speaker 1: fly fishing and wing shooting brand.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Marco was who made that drum? You got what brand? Yeah, tycoon,
- 13:26Speaker 3: it might be it? Did? Uh?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Did you come up with an answer? Count? You got
- 13:31Speaker 1: this one right? Randall, you got this one right?
- 13:34Speaker 6: I got it right, I got it right. I would
- 13:36Speaker 6: have had that last one right too if I had
- 13:37Speaker 6: to start taking the wrong thing.
- 13:41Speaker 1: How about you, RTI, you got this one right?
- 13:42Speaker 3: I do all right.
- 13:43Speaker 1: About half the room is quite confident. Headquartered in Vermont,
- 13:47Speaker 1: this legendary company says, at our core, we are a
- 13:50Speaker 1: fly fishing and wing shooting brand. Legendary like like like
- 13:56Speaker 1: you said, this legendary animal. That's just my little superlative.
- 14:00Speaker 7: Is it wrong to think that you can cover more
- 14:02Speaker 7: water with a spoon.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Than you can a jig?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Don't you think whether you vertical the same amount of
- 14:13Speaker 1: water you could horizontally.
- 14:15Speaker 6: It's all the dinky fish, dude, It all came out.
- 14:19Speaker 3: See I was going my.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Steve Galaxy brain. Yeah, and Spencer's going like I don't
- 14:28Speaker 1: know just everything crappy wine class. Does everybody have an

- 14:34Speaker 1: are a fly fishing and wing shooting brand. Clay, you
- 14:37Speaker 1: got an answer? Answer, Go ahead and reveal your answers
- 14:41Speaker 1: with Steve saying, Orvis, Marco saying, Ben and Jerry, RT
- 14:48Speaker 1: and Randall and Chili and Cal saying Orvis, Clay says Pilson.
- 14:55Speaker 1: The correct answer is Orvis. The room did very well.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Charles Orbis founded the company nearly one hundred and seventy
- 15:04Speaker 1: years ago in Manchester, Vermont. Although the brand is best
- 15:07Speaker 1: known for their fly fishing gear, they also sell shotguns, knives,
- 15:11Speaker 1: dog beds, and more. Orbis has been privately owned since
- 15:14Speaker 1: nineteen sixty five, and today they employ over fifteen hundred people.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Question three, the topic excellent conservation record too, Oh all right?
- 15:23Speaker 7: Do everything from stream bank restoration and advocacy, work with
- 15:31Speaker 7: a bunch of Roughgrouse Society pheasants forever. They do do
- 15:36Speaker 7: a lot.
- 15:36Speaker 1: It's why they're a legendary company, Steve. Question three, the
- 15:39Speaker 1: topic is conservation. Dictionary dot Com defines this nine letter
- 15:44Speaker 1: word as quote a person who hunts for food or

- 16:13Speaker 3: Mm hmm, I'm what I'm thinking. Read it again, Read
- 16:18Speaker 3: it again, because I'm by getting the right letter count.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Dictionary dot Com defines this nine letter word as a
- 16:25Speaker 1: person who hunts for food or for profit without regard
- 16:29Speaker 1: to the rules of sport. Nobody appears to be confident.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I don't uh well, I won't hold that again. Stee.
- 16:43Speaker 1: If you got the right answer, you could be a
- 16:45Speaker 1: letter or too off. Clay, That's that's just fine.
- 16:47Speaker 3: I'm a terrible speller.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Okay, nine letter word we're looking for. It's everybody doing
- 16:54Speaker 1: little Hangman matches on their board. Okay, h rand.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I've got one coming into eight. I've got nine letter.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Okay, Randall may be the only one who gets this right.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I'm not quite sure this is how I would define it, but.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Well, this is our dictionary dot Com defines that's right.
- 17:15Speaker 1: The The definition is a person who hunts for food
- 17:19Speaker 1: or for profit without regard to the rules of sport.

- 17:28Speaker 3: Trying to think of one of my friends has got
- 17:29Speaker 3: nine letters.
- 17:30Speaker 1: In their name. This is a stumper, Randall, maybe the
- 17:38Speaker 1: only one who has it.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Are we gonna when we hear it gonna go like.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Oh shoot, not gonna tell you that, Clay.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Are we gonna go? I've never heard that word before.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Not sure if if.
- 17:50Speaker 3: My answer is correct, everybody's gonna go.
- 17:54Speaker 8: It's kind of that questioning, oh, dictionary dot com.
- 17:58Speaker 3: But I don't know if I have the right answer.
- 18:00Speaker 1: M hm. Did the others give up yet? Nine letters?

- 18:15Speaker 3: the end of it.
- 18:16Speaker 6: But it's singular, right, A person, that's right, it's a singles.
- 18:21Speaker 1: This isn't a plural answer. I'm not not trying to tricky.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Ten letter one is plural. You could just stop pack
- 18:27Speaker 3: that s off.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 18:35Speaker 1: have Steve without an answer, Marco saying, Trophy Man, what
- 18:40Speaker 1: t saying? What's that say? Rt says seal Sword Randall
- 18:45Speaker 1: saying pot Hunter, Chili saying Robin Hood col sang long Hunter,
- 18:50Speaker 1: Clay saying subsistence, subsistence, subsistence. Oh, Randall got it. The
- 18:57Speaker 1: correct answer is pod Hunter. No way, pot Hunter. So Clay,
- 19:02Speaker 1: what was your reaction when you heard Potts for food?
- 19:06Speaker 1: I just said for food or for profit without regard
- 19:10Speaker 1: to rules of s.
- 19:11Speaker 3: I just didn't know there was such definition around. Where'd
- 19:14Speaker 3: you go to find that?
- 19:15Speaker 1: Dictionary dot com?
- 19:16Speaker 3: Like? Who cares about dictionary dot com?
- 19:19Speaker 7: How does that change?
- 19:20Speaker 1: First?
- 19:21Speaker 3: Nothing one cares about it.
- 19:22Speaker 6: But it's not even like you're just drawn from be
- 19:25Speaker 6: like according to some AI generated bs, I found this
- 19:29Speaker 6: blankety blank.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I have to assign it to somebody so that there.
- 19:33Speaker 6: Was an authoritative think I think peer review. Go to
- 19:38Speaker 6: myriams right now on your little computer. Go to myriams
- 19:40Speaker 6: right now, or any like any dictionary that's a dictionary. No,
- 19:43Speaker 6: go to the Oxford English Dictionary.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Oh ed, okay, which one is it? Which Oxford English Dictionary?
- 19:49Speaker 3: Pot Hunter? Please?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Okay, we're working on this.
- 19:52Speaker 5: And it's gonna tell you not a word, No, it'll definition.
- 19:59Speaker 3: It'll of its earliest usage too.
- 20:03Speaker 5: It would have helped if you would have said, this
- 20:05Speaker 5: is a colloquial term like I was looking for, like
- 20:09Speaker 5: I was tinking of, like.
- 20:09Speaker 3: A more concrete term.
- 20:12Speaker 1: We gave you the well, I gave you the definition,
- 20:14Speaker 1: and Randall got it.
- 20:15Speaker 3: So Randall.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Oxford English Dictionary makes me have a subscription, Steve. So
- 20:22Speaker 1: we're gonna have to can you will uh? Will Merriam
- 20:26Speaker 1: satisfy you? Okay, sure, we'll try that out.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Merriam Webster definds pod hunter as a person who hunts
- 20:37Speaker 1: for game, who hunts game for food or profit without
- 20:42Speaker 1: following the rules of sport. It's like three words different
- 20:45Speaker 1: than dictionary dot COM's.
- 20:46Speaker 8: Definition and hunter in there too long hunter and it's
- 20:52Speaker 8: it's we're going for definition.
- 20:57Speaker 7: The apostrophe.
- 20:59Speaker 1: It's Steve. Do we do we respect Merriam Webster or
- 21:02Speaker 1: are they they're on the out? Yeah? Yeah, whatever, Okay,
- 21:05Speaker 1: all right, it's a we're calling that one a valid question.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I think question four the topic is hunting. This potential
- 21:14Speaker 1: Donald Trump running mate wrote in her book that she
- 21:18Speaker 1: killed a fourteen month old hunting dog for having quote
- 21:22Speaker 1: an aggressive personality.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Straight from the headlines.
- 21:26Speaker 6: Oh, there's a there's a little hint, Randall, Oh, come
- 21:29Speaker 6: on this potential Donald Trump running mate wrote in her
- 21:33Speaker 6: book that she killed a fourteen month old hunting dog
- 21:37Speaker 6: for having an aggressive personality.
- 21:40Speaker 1: This is question for Randall, has it? Chili? Seems like
- 21:46Speaker 1: he has it. Cal You have it right, Steve, you
- 21:48Speaker 1: have it right? Oh yeah, buddy, Okay, Clay, how are
- 21:50Speaker 1: we doing over here?
- 21:53Speaker 3: I got it?
- 21:53Speaker 1: Okay?
- 21:54Speaker 3: What are you?
- 21:54Speaker 1: What are we snickering about? Cal?
- 21:56Speaker 6: Oh?
- 21:56Speaker 7: The justification of like why it's in book is The
- 22:02Speaker 7: justification of why it's in the book is is funny?
- 22:05Speaker 1: Man? Yeah, if I can do this, you know I can?
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 22:12Speaker 7: Exactly?
- 22:13Speaker 3: Is everybody ready by that?
- 22:14Speaker 7: I don't pass the buck?
- 22:16Speaker 1: Is everybody ready?
- 22:17Speaker 3: Yep?
- 22:18Speaker 1: Clay, go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Steve
- 22:20Speaker 1: saying no, uh, Marco saying Nicki Haley, Dude, Nicki.
- 22:24Speaker 6: Haley and Trump are way on the outs man, Artie saying.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Uh Marco Sumphonic, Randall sang Nome, Chili saying no, Cal Sagnome,
- 22:38Speaker 1: Clay saying, s d Gov Nome, they got it the
- 22:41Speaker 1: correct answer, it's Christy No. This story comes from Nome's
- 22:45Speaker 1: new book, which The Guardian obtained a copy of last week,
- 22:49Speaker 1: Nome tells of a young wirehaired pointer named Cricket who
- 22:53Speaker 1: she took pheasant hunting one fall day. Noam said the
- 22:56Speaker 1: dog was quote untrainable, and that it chased up birds
- 22:59Speaker 1: before the hunters could get to them. After the hunt,
- 23:02Speaker 1: no One was driving home when she stopped to chat
- 23:04Speaker 1: with a neighbor. That's when Cricket got out of its
- 23:07Speaker 1: kennel and killed the family's chickens. Noom then went home
- 23:11Speaker 1: and led the dog to a gravel pit, where she
- 23:13Speaker 1: killed it. Since the story broke, The Guardian has reported
- 23:17Speaker 1: that Trump's campaign now views it as impossible that she
- 23:20Speaker 1: could be his running mate. What, dude, I'm telling you
- 23:26Speaker 1: what The Guardian rebuilded. That's not that's ridiculous. They think
- 23:30Speaker 1: it makes her unelectable.
- 23:32Speaker 3: No, it does not.
- 23:33Speaker 1: That makes me like her even more. She killed the
- 23:36Speaker 1: month old hunting dog.
- 23:38Speaker 6: Yeah, people need to do more of that. There's a
- 23:40Speaker 6: lot of dogs out there flushing birds way too far out.
- 23:43Speaker 1: There's probably some steps in between, I think, and.
- 23:48Speaker 5: The difference of her taking it to the to the
- 23:50Speaker 5: vet and having him put it down.
- 23:52Speaker 6: I'm saying, dude, you know what this means for Ronnie
- 23:54Speaker 6: Bams political prospects.
- 23:56Speaker 9: If that if that kills your political means is she's
- 24:01Speaker 9: not you know, she gave up on training a dog,
- 24:04Speaker 9: is one way to look at it, which would be
- 24:06Speaker 9: very negative.
- 24:07Speaker 6: No, because if you'd look into that dog's soul, she
- 24:10Speaker 6: said she But there's another piece of information in there
- 24:16Speaker 6: that in my mind, does justify it, and it's the
- 24:19Speaker 6: fact that the dog tried to bite her when she
- 24:22Speaker 6: tried to get it from chasing the chickens.
- 24:25Speaker 7: And then you you know, it's becomes very tricky. It's
- 24:29Speaker 7: like getting rid of a bad mule, right, Like it
- 24:32Speaker 7: bucked everybody off. But now I'm going to try to
- 24:35Speaker 7: sell it because I can't have it around because it
- 24:37Speaker 7: bucks everybody off. But how do you give some a
- 24:39Speaker 7: liability to the next person? The same deal with the
- 24:42Speaker 7: dog who bites things. Yeah, but I think it's a
- 24:46Speaker 7: thing to be like, it's untrainable according to who.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I think there's resources.
- 24:50Speaker 6: Here's the thing too, though, like there's a lot of
- 24:53Speaker 6: people that enter the political sphere that like the posture
- 24:59Speaker 6: about their blue collar agricultural upbringings. That's a real issue
- 25:04Speaker 6: right now in politics. There's like the Resale was reading
- 25:06Speaker 6: about another politician who talked about growing up on the
- 25:10Speaker 6: family farm, right, and be like, no, you didn't. Your
- 25:13Speaker 6: parents were academics. They owned a little piece of property
- 25:17Speaker 6: where the mom raised like prized show horses.
- 25:21Speaker 3: You didn't like grow up on a farm. You didn't
- 25:23Speaker 3: grow up there.
- 25:24Speaker 7: Or I made a couple of billion dollars and bought
- 25:26Speaker 7: a big ass ranch in Montana, and now I'm a
- 25:28Speaker 7: big ass rancher in Montana talking about how a ranch
- 25:31Speaker 7: in Montana.
- 25:31Speaker 6: Sure, and this gal know like legit came from what
- 25:38Speaker 6: she says she came from. And this demonstrates even more.
- 25:44Speaker 1: She had to be killed the family goat that day,
- 25:47Speaker 1: they had a goat that she didn't like. He was stinky.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I didn't pick fir, but that one she had to
- 25:54Speaker 1: deliver two shots too, because the first one didn't kill it.
- 25:58Speaker 7: When you take a trip to the gravel, you maximize
- 26:02Speaker 7: going all the way out there.
- 26:04Speaker 6: I got no listen. I I think the campaign. I
- 26:08Speaker 6: think I think the Trump campaign be foolish.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Not to pick her up question five. The topic is
- 26:13Speaker 1: gonna go cook.
- 26:18Speaker 3: I just think of she was she at the top
- 26:20Speaker 3: of the list. Yeah really, yeah, I didn't. I didn't
- 26:23Speaker 3: know The.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Guardian says it that I don't know.
- 26:27Speaker 6: No one knows, but I mean it's it's mm hm pundits.
- 26:30Speaker 6: Pundits feel that she was at the top of the list,
- 26:32Speaker 6: but I mean, you know, there's one person that knows
- 26:36Speaker 6: and they haven't said.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Question five. The topic is cooking. Confee, steak free and
- 26:44Speaker 1: tartar sauce are this country's cuisine?
- 26:50Speaker 3: What' it wrong?
- 26:51Speaker 1: How would you say it? Confee confie, steak free and
- 26:56Speaker 1: tartar sauce are this country's cuisine.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Marco is gonna bang this one, dude.
- 27:01Speaker 6: Okay, Mark running Man, we'll get a scoreboard. Haley, they
- 27:08Speaker 6: were read each other's throat.
- 27:11Speaker 3: No way, she's getting the nod. I like her.
- 27:15Speaker 1: This is ladies five.
- 27:20Speaker 3: I'm ready, I'm ready for I'm ready for it. What
- 27:22Speaker 3: about uh? What about Arkansas's Governor Sarah Huckephy Sanders.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Does she go to the coon rally that you guys.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Was not there?
- 27:31Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, this is question five? Cone fee, steak free
- 27:39Speaker 1: and tartar sauce are this country's cuisine?
- 27:43Speaker 3: Oh wait, is this being filmed?
- 27:45Speaker 1: This is being filmed? Would you just make a bad gesture?
- 27:49Speaker 1: It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 27:53Speaker 1: have Steve saying France, Marco saying France.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Marco, I forgot to answer unless you're going to write
- 28:03Speaker 3: down Frances. He has been hiding that trick up.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he was too busy forfeit.
- 28:10Speaker 3: If France is the.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Answer, what were you going to say? You think, well,
- 28:13Speaker 1: I was.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Thinking about a European country, but.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Uh, everybody says France. Everybody got it right, except for because.
- 28:25Speaker 5: I wanted to wait till we I'm pretty much cheated
- 28:28Speaker 5: the system the last time.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I wasn't gonna say anything to already got the point.
- 28:32Speaker 5: I don't know if you noticed, but I wrote in
- 28:34Speaker 5: and a bunch of scribbles, Yeah, I.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Saw that is the South Governor.
- 28:42Speaker 8: I saw that on your board and I was like,
- 28:43Speaker 8: I can't believe that Spencer read that.
- 28:46Speaker 1: So I honestly can't.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I can't just put French.
- 28:51Speaker 7: Answer.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Did he have no?
- 28:54Speaker 1: He wrote SD go and then with a little like
- 28:58Speaker 1: a snake.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Are you going to accept that?
- 29:00Speaker 6: I already on camera did that?
- 29:05Speaker 3: What did he do? I wrote French?
- 29:08Speaker 1: I don't think that's wrong.
- 29:09Speaker 3: French a country of country. You know it's not.
- 29:13Speaker 6: Because here's the problem, Senegal. The French is their national language.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Okay, Quebec. When he says French, is it Quebec?
- 29:29Speaker 1: Randall, were you thinking of Quebec? Did you think you.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Can't ask someone what they're thinking about? Well, I was
- 29:34Speaker 3: thinking of jigs.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Other popular French dishes are French onion, soup, chocolate soup,
- 29:42Speaker 1: fle crapes, and cremb crembrew la. You can get some
- 29:46Speaker 1: of these recipes on the meadeater dot com, like Jenny
- 29:49Speaker 1: gwyn Wheatley's Duck Free and Wade Trunk's Duck Confie Fail.
- 29:54Speaker 1: We are halfway through the game of trivia. I'm going
- 29:57Speaker 1: to read us a leader board of date. In last place,
- 30:02Speaker 1: we have Clay with one singular point and he had
- 30:07Speaker 1: to cheat to get it.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Even wait a minute, I didn't cheat to.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Get Christina I had I had another point. Well, okay,
- 30:16Speaker 1: you didn't get Orbis, you didn't get Jigs, you didn't
- 30:19Speaker 1: get pod Hunter. So you have one point one point.
- 30:23Speaker 1: That's a really pain point. Next time, with two points,
- 30:30Speaker 1: maybe you could give me the French.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I mean, I mean I did.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Next up, with two points, we have Marco and r T.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Mar Marco is he's got way more points than you.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Twice as many.
- 30:43Speaker 6: To be exact, he knows twice as much as Clay
- 30:46Speaker 6: about this this area of inquiry.
- 30:49Speaker 1: With three points, we have Steve and Cal and in
- 30:53Speaker 1: first place with four points are Randall and Chili four points. Chili,
- 31:00Speaker 1: have you won before?
- 31:02Speaker 8: Now I know why Chili tried to stab me in
- 31:04Speaker 8: the back by pointing out the French in France.
- 31:07Speaker 4: No, I've been one actually, uh, to date, I have
- 31:11Speaker 4: the most correct answers, like I've only ever.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Had four right.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Wow, I'm not gonna mess with your perfect game.
- 31:19Speaker 1: And he declared he gets one more right each game.
- 31:21Speaker 1: So it went like two, three, four, and so he said,
- 31:24Speaker 1: you told me before Today he's getting five correct answers.
- 31:27Speaker 3: At a minimum at a minute. Okay, this is fantastic.
- 31:30Speaker 3: I'll tell you guys something about Chili, little surpriser. Yeah,
- 31:33Speaker 3: you don't need to. We'll go ahead if you feel inclined.
- 31:39Speaker 6: Question six, Wait a minute, topic, you're not gonna do it.
- 31:52Speaker 6: The topic is public Lands, part of the nineteen ninety
- 31:57Speaker 6: seven film Dante's Peak was shot on this mountain that
- 32:01Speaker 6: the movie is based on.
- 32:04Speaker 1: This is question six. Topic is public Lands.
- 32:08Speaker 3: No. The the topic is Cinema, part of.
- 32:13Speaker 1: The nineteen ninety seven film Dante's Peak was shot on
- 32:18Speaker 1: this mountain that the movie is based on Mountain Randall.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Do you have a correct answer or you just guessing?
- 32:26Speaker 1: Pierce Brosnan, I'm not well, You're you're handing out hints
- 32:30Speaker 1: here to the room. I don't think that I'm not
- 32:31Speaker 1: confirming or did not be able.
- 32:33Speaker 3: To get scalded in the creek.
- 32:35Speaker 1: You're just handing out all sorts of.
- 32:37Speaker 7: The most badass suburban build ever.
- 32:40Speaker 8: I just assumed, alright, Well, maybe I'm making too many assumptions.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Randal has has now provided two hints to the room.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Part of the nineteen ninety seven film Dante's Peak was
- 32:52Speaker 1: shot on this mountain that the movie is based on, Randall.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Do you love that movie? You don't have to keep
- 32:58Speaker 1: giving details if you don't want, you could just.
- 33:00Speaker 8: It's been a real it's been a while. There's a
- 33:02Speaker 8: there's another film that was released at the same time.
- 33:05Speaker 1: He's just gonna keep going on.
- 33:08Speaker 8: I think it's a weirder movie because I have no
- 33:10Speaker 8: idea what I'm the same.
- 33:12Speaker 6: Okay, I'm gathering public lands. I'm gathering it's not the
- 33:16Speaker 6: mad Horn or something. Well, I don't want to.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't where Sad's at the but leave alone.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Part of the nineteen ninety seventh film Dante's Peak was
- 33:29Speaker 1: shot on this mountain that the movie is based on.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Peers as though Randall is the only one who's coming public.
- 33:38Speaker 1: You say this is bucketed under what public?
- 33:40Speaker 8: Lane, I don't know. I don't know that my answer
- 33:42Speaker 8: is correct. I know the film, Artie.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Are you feeling familiar.
- 33:47Speaker 3: With this movie?
- 33:48Speaker 1: I am, okay, but I know what? Do you have
- 33:50Speaker 1: the answer? I have an answer, okay.
- 33:53Speaker 8: I couldn't have told you that the film was filmed
- 33:55Speaker 8: at this place, Marco. I have three answers, okay, And
- 34:00Speaker 8: it was a film going place, that's the question, that's right.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Part of the nineteen ninety seven film Dante's Peak was
- 34:07Speaker 1: shot on this mountain that the movie is based on.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Another film based and shot there, Artie.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Did you watch this movie in high school? What year
- 34:19Speaker 1: was it? Nineteen ninety seven? Uh? Yep? Okay?
- 34:24Speaker 2: And I think I remember the name of the other
- 34:27Speaker 2: one as well that ran was referencing.
- 34:29Speaker 3: But what was that again? Random? That would be too much?
- 34:34Speaker 3: Can you read both both mine? You know what I'm
- 34:38Speaker 3: talking about? No One, No, one likes that movie.
- 34:41Speaker 7: I felt like this was a real, real hit in
- 34:44Speaker 7: this neck of the woods.
- 34:46Speaker 1: It's nineteen ninety seven. I was one years old, by
- 34:48Speaker 1: the way. Okay, Wow, all right, is everybody ready?
- 34:52Speaker 5: When I was in high school and brought up a
- 34:54Speaker 5: glass and wasn't doing very good, I doodled, So I'm
- 34:58Speaker 5: just kind of like working on my nade here.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Okay, he drew us a spoon before. It was a
- 35:04Speaker 1: big hit around that area. Wow, Steve is sussing out
- 35:08Speaker 1: all the hints you guys are handing out off the dirt. Okay,
- 35:11Speaker 1: is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. I
- 35:15Speaker 1: can't even tell what you crossed I wrote.
- 35:17Speaker 3: I crossed out El Cappy Town, which is more like
- 35:19Speaker 3: a face than.
- 35:19Speaker 1: I wrote to Nally. Okay, we have Marco saying Mount Rainier,
- 35:23Speaker 1: Artis saying Mount Saint Helen's, Randall saying Mount Saint hell.
- 35:27Speaker 1: That makes sense, Chili saying Mount Rainier, Cal sang Lolo,
- 35:32Speaker 1: Clay sang Mount Rainey.
- 35:34Speaker 3: I saw you change your answer Mount Rainey. Let me
- 35:35Speaker 3: see how he's got a spell. Well, I was.
- 35:42Speaker 1: The correct answer. It's Mount Saint Helen's. Because it's all
- 35:48Speaker 1: rt and Randall. Was it that they were up there
- 35:55Speaker 1: when it blew? Is that what it was? The movie
- 35:57Speaker 1: stars Pierce Brosnan, You sgs scientists who's monitoring a dormant
- 36:03Speaker 1: volcano in Washington. Rotten Tomatoes ranked it as the forty
- 36:07Speaker 1: first best disaster movie of all time, losing out to
- 36:11Speaker 1: films such as Sharknado, Sharknado two, Sharknado three, Sharknado five,
- 36:17Speaker 1: and Natural Disaster.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Oh wow, you know, isn't.
- 36:21Speaker 2: The town that wasn't it Wallace?
- 36:22Speaker 3: Wallace's Yeah, yeah, isn't it the twenty fifth an? No,
- 36:26Speaker 3: it's the something anniversary May eighteen.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I don't know. Was it eighty three? That nineteen eighties?
- 36:35Speaker 3: Oh? I know it's May eighteen.
- 36:36Speaker 8: But yeah, I lost that on a tiebreaker. I think
- 36:39Speaker 8: in one of the first games that I played.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Randall handed out so many hints there. I thought more
- 36:43Speaker 1: folks would have.
- 36:44Speaker 6: Got it, you know, talking about yeah they called woman
- 36:47Speaker 6: there the hollow springs and it gets uh oh yeah,
- 36:50Speaker 6: and the old they're.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Not going to Mama gets out there.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:54Speaker 8: No, no, So there's that Yeah I was talking about
- 36:57Speaker 8: at the beginning. There's like some skinny dippers, ye go
- 36:59Speaker 8: to a hot spring, but it's hotter than.
- 37:01Speaker 1: It should be, and so they what's the other volcano movie?
- 37:05Speaker 3: Okay, and they get boiled to death? Yeah, I think
- 37:07Speaker 3: they find them there.
- 37:09Speaker 8: They find these people boiled in the hot spring, and
- 37:11Speaker 8: they're like, huh, something is going on with.
- 37:13Speaker 7: The It's a classic, Like he's the authority and he's
- 37:19Speaker 7: reading everything and nobody believes him.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Yeah, he's crazy. And he finds a love interest after
- 37:26Speaker 1: his last partner died because they were escaping the volcano
- 37:31Speaker 1: and magma rock comes through the roof of the pickup
- 37:33Speaker 1: and just decapitates her. So that's what previous his previous wife.
- 37:38Speaker 1: And then he finds new love in a similar situation.
- 37:42Speaker 7: You know, he's a real cowboy of the USGS world.
- 37:45Speaker 8: I really wanted to be a volcano scientistuff for that.
- 37:48Speaker 8: You're always around erupting volcanoes.
- 37:52Speaker 3: Question shook her head right off top of the truck.
- 37:55Speaker 1: It didn't take her head off, but it like went
- 37:57Speaker 1: through her brains something like that. Question seven. The topic
- 38:01Speaker 1: is hunting. What does the ten in Ruger ten twenty
- 38:06Speaker 1: two represent? This question?
- 38:10Speaker 3: So this is seven sentence?
- 38:13Speaker 1: I don't know, I mean, it depends what you think
- 38:15Speaker 1: The answer is what does the ten in Ruger ten
- 38:20Speaker 1: twenty two represent? The topic is hunting. This is question seven,
- 38:31Speaker 1: Cal you knew the movie, but you didn't know it
- 38:33Speaker 1: was Mount Saint Helens.
- 38:36Speaker 7: I was just thinking like infrastructure, which so Mount Mount
- 38:41Speaker 7: Saint Helens and Mount Baker and Mount Rainier were all
- 38:45Speaker 7: three of my top choices.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Oh Randall said he saw you cross across Saint Helen's
- 38:51Speaker 1: off right?
- 38:52Speaker 3: No chili chili hell right answer?
- 38:54Speaker 7: And he changed it, And then I thought maybe he
- 38:58Speaker 7: might just be doing something Montana local classic case of
- 39:01Speaker 7: once you overthink these things, you're you're scred.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Phil.
- 39:04Speaker 6: It wasn't out like living on that bus and everything
- 39:08Speaker 6: I think you'd be doing well. I would have got
- 39:09Speaker 6: that right, and part of the movie was filmed there.
- 39:13Speaker 1: On question seven, what does volcano is that?
- 39:15Speaker 3: Tommy Lee Jones, I saw all right.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Phil is a Dante's Peak kind of guy.
- 39:22Speaker 6: So when his wife gets killed, is it like a
- 39:24Speaker 6: back Is it a BackFlash?
- 39:27Speaker 1: No? I think that's how the movie starts, get killed
- 39:30Speaker 1: through the head.
- 39:30Speaker 7: And establishes his kind of like cowboy, you know, like
- 39:35Speaker 7: like the rogue agent. Right, you got too close.
- 39:39Speaker 3: It's one of those you knew you were.
- 39:42Speaker 8: The plot is both man versus nature and also man
- 39:44Speaker 8: against bureaucracy and.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Also finding love.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Was he bummed and his wife got killed?
- 39:51Speaker 1: I think it like makes him a little disinterested in
- 39:53Speaker 1: the whole thing. He like loses little passions JA.
- 39:57Speaker 3: When his wife gets killed. Yeah, we turn it on
- 40:00Speaker 3: for you.
- 40:01Speaker 1: We got a few hours today to kill.
- 40:02Speaker 8: I'm not gonna watch it. Spencer, would you look up
- 40:04Speaker 8: who stars in Volcano? This also in nineteen ninety seven?
- 40:07Speaker 8: Release you know real quick? I'll tell you.
- 40:10Speaker 1: At the very least, we could watch the scene where
- 40:12Speaker 1: the wife gets killed. It seems like you've clean you clung.
- 40:15Speaker 1: I would like to see that.
- 40:16Speaker 6: Would Here's the thing I do though, And I think
- 40:18Speaker 6: that the world be better place if more people did this.
- 40:23Speaker 3: I knew, Did I not say, Tommy Lee Jones? You did? God,
- 40:26Speaker 3: I'm not gonna do Yeah. And hash I wouldn't have.
- 40:30Speaker 3: I wouldn't have gotten a hash that sounds French. I'm
- 40:33Speaker 3: trusting Phil Steve.
- 40:35Speaker 1: What what do you do that more folks need to do? Oh?
- 40:38Speaker 1: If someone says like, oh, you should listen to him,
- 40:40Speaker 1: you should listen to that musician.
- 40:41Speaker 3: You should watch the movie.
- 40:42Speaker 6: You should read that book instead of grant affing him,
- 40:47Speaker 6: I'll go To be honest, I'm not gonna do that,
- 40:51Speaker 6: you know what i mean, Just like like the stress
- 40:54Speaker 6: to everybody, the stress levels go down for everybody.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you no longer have that chore on your.
- 40:59Speaker 6: Just like you know, to be honest with you, I'm
- 41:01Speaker 6: never gonna read that book.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Is everybody everybody walks away. I would prefer not to.
- 41:06Speaker 1: That's everybody. Have an answer for the ten in Ruger
- 41:08Speaker 1: ten twenty two, Yeah, I got it. Go ahead and
- 41:10Speaker 1: reveal your answer. We have Steve saying magazine capacity, Marco
- 41:15Speaker 1: saying millimeter, Artie saying gauge, Randall saying ten round rotary magazine,
- 41:21Speaker 1: Chili saying mill cal saying ten rounds, Clay saying ten
- 41:26Speaker 1: round magazine. The correct answer is ten rounds of AMMO.
- 41:31Speaker 1: The room did very well. The Ruger ten twenty two
- 41:35Speaker 1: is a twenty two long rifle rim fire that has
- 41:38Speaker 1: that has a patented ten round rotary magazine. The gun
- 41:43Speaker 1: made Jordan Siller's list of the six best twenty two
- 41:46Speaker 1: long rifles. To find out what the other five are,
- 41:49Speaker 1: go read his article on the meadeater dot com.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I'll throwing a quick plug here.
- 41:54Speaker 6: If you're a ten twenty two person, you should be
- 41:56Speaker 6: checking out the product line at tac Soul.
- 42:00Speaker 1: What are they doing for the line?
- 42:01Speaker 6: They make all kinds of like they make these like
- 42:03Speaker 6: souped up ten twenty two components. You can actually they
- 42:06Speaker 6: make really souped up ten twenty two components, but you
- 42:07Speaker 6: can actually assemble pretty much the whole damn gun.
- 42:10Speaker 3: I'd like super souped up components. They're nice. Man. I'm
- 42:14Speaker 3: a big ten twenty two man.
- 42:16Speaker 5: Like if I could, if I could take two firearms,
- 42:20Speaker 5: I mean, aside from it being a twenty two, like
- 42:22Speaker 5: you couldn't really use some big game, I'd grab my
- 42:25Speaker 5: ten twenty two man, I do feel like I just
- 42:28Speaker 5: felt like it's an extension of my body.
- 42:30Speaker 1: If I remember correctly, in that article of Jordan Sillers,
- 42:32Speaker 1: you said that was your favorite twenty two ye to shoot.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Yep.
- 42:35Speaker 7: He used to comment that, like the commonality amongst our neighborhood,
- 42:41Speaker 7: if you went from house to house to house and
- 42:43Speaker 7: found the things that jailed everybody together, it'd be the
- 42:45Speaker 7: Big Chill soundtrack and Aruger ten twenty two.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Question eight. The topic is fishing. If you cross the
- 42:56Speaker 1: state fish of Wisconsin with the state fish of North Dakota,
- 43:00Speaker 1: you'll get this hybrid. Coming back, coming back, Steve is
- 43:07Speaker 1: feeling confident. If you cross the state fish of Wisconsin
- 43:11Speaker 1: with the state fish of North Dakota, you'll get this hybrid.
- 43:16Speaker 3: I'm coming back. How long do I got to come back? Phil?
- 43:18Speaker 1: This is question eight?
- 43:19Speaker 3: Okay, you got it, Randall? I think, so who's winning
- 43:26Speaker 3: right now?
- 43:27Speaker 1: We'll get a scoreboard update after this, Phil, When was
- 43:31Speaker 1: volcano made? This is a volcano episode.
- 43:35Speaker 3: Now I do a side bet and get a point.
- 43:37Speaker 6: If I say that Marco doesn't have it and he
- 43:41Speaker 6: does it, Cauld, I get an extra point.
- 43:44Speaker 1: I think the odds on that, Randall.
- 43:47Speaker 7: I was actually a geology major at the University of
- 43:49Speaker 7: Montana for a short window and was kicking ass and
- 43:53Speaker 7: then got to the class that I wanted to take
- 43:56Speaker 7: the most, which was Volcanoes and Earthquakes hmm. And I
- 44:02Speaker 7: was like, you know, nerding out on all this geology
- 44:06Speaker 7: stuff on the high of also doing very well academically.
- 44:11Speaker 7: And I got into that class and just every day
- 44:14Speaker 7: could not fathom like the professor's job was to make
- 44:18Speaker 7: volcanoes and earthquakes the most boring, hated subject on the planet,
- 44:25Speaker 7: like I couldn't.
- 44:26Speaker 1: I never got through it, and you were done after that.
- 44:28Speaker 7: I was done after it.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Does everybody have an answer for the state fish of
- 44:33Speaker 1: Wisconsin with the state fish of North Dakota that creates
- 44:36Speaker 1: this hybrid.
- 44:37Speaker 3: I'm on the hot streak.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Steve saying
- 44:42Speaker 1: tiger musky, Marco saying the cheese could say Rte and
- 44:49Speaker 1: Randall say tiger musky, Chili says sturgeon, Cal says tiger musky.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Clay says hybrid striper. The correct answer is tiger musk.
- 45:00Speaker 3: We need a sturgeon. I don't know anything. I just
- 45:05Speaker 3: here only playing.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Once he got his five correct answers, got four.
- 45:13Speaker 3: You jinxed it by bringing that up, and now I
- 45:15Speaker 3: mean one more so.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Wisconsin made the muskie their state fish in nineteen fifty
- 45:20Speaker 1: five and North Dakota made the pike their state fish
- 45:23Speaker 1: in nineteen sixty nine. Tiger muskie are rare in nature
- 45:27Speaker 1: because they're sterile, and pike ten to spawn earlier than muskie.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Tiger muskie are found in about forty states. Phil we
- 45:34Speaker 1: have two questions left. We are now going to get
- 45:37Speaker 1: a leader board update. In last place are Marco and
- 45:43Speaker 1: Clay with two points. We're going to have a race
- 45:46Speaker 1: to see which one of you knows more about hunting, fishing,
- 45:50Speaker 1: conservation and cooking with two questions. Laco next up with
- 45:56Speaker 1: four points, We have Chili and are T four points
- 46:02Speaker 1: for Chili and r Tea. Next up with five points
- 46:05Speaker 1: are Cal and Steve. They have five and Randall is
- 46:09Speaker 1: running away with it. He has seventy. If Randall gets
- 46:14Speaker 1: his next question right, it is all.
- 46:16Speaker 3: The damn think about. If Randall wasn't here.
- 46:20Speaker 2: Like Neck Neck and Randal's the only one that hasn't
- 46:23Speaker 2: been sleeping on a tour.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Oh, you're right, this is.
- 46:27Speaker 8: A true I'm like Mark Wahlberg in the movie rock
- 46:30Speaker 8: Star when he joins the band as the band has
- 46:33Speaker 8: already been a band for.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Phil's the only one who got to that movie Star
- 46:37Speaker 1: rand ninety six.
- 46:38Speaker 3: I think it's a good it's a good one. The
- 46:40Speaker 3: band's Steel Dragon. The soundtrack is excellent.
- 46:43Speaker 1: Question nine, the topic is cooking native to Africa. This
- 46:48Speaker 1: is the third most commonly eaten fish in the world. Yeah,
- 46:55Speaker 1: the topic is cooking. If Randall gets is right, the
- 47:00Speaker 1: game is over. He sealed the victory. The topic is
- 47:04Speaker 1: cooking native to Africa. This is the third most commonly
- 47:07Speaker 1: eaten fish in the world. I'm now more invested in
- 47:10Speaker 1: the race between Marco and Clay. Clay, do you have
- 47:13Speaker 1: this one right?
- 47:14Speaker 3: You know this one? No?
- 47:16Speaker 1: He doesn't.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Clay Okay got this one.
- 47:20Speaker 1: This is what he's got a chance, he says.
- 47:27Speaker 7: I cannot I know native fish to Africa.
- 47:29Speaker 3: I don't, huh.
- 47:30Speaker 7: I can't imagine how it can be the third most
- 47:33Speaker 7: consumed fish in the world.
- 47:35Speaker 1: That's right, third most eaten fish in the world that's
- 47:40Speaker 1: measured by weight. Is everybody ready?
- 47:44Speaker 3: Do you got it? Randall? Yes, I think so.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Damn it, damn it, dam everybody ready, go ahead and
- 47:50Speaker 1: reveal your answers. We have see you saying tilapia. Oh, Marco, telapia, Rtie.
- 47:57Speaker 6: Says perch, Randall says tilapia chili without an answer, Cal
- 48:02Speaker 6: saying tiger fish, Clay saying TILAPPI.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Hey, listen.
- 48:06Speaker 5: Marco and I had coffee this morning and I gave
- 48:08Speaker 5: him like I wish somebody had been recording it. It
- 48:11Speaker 5: was like a compelling feel on the North American model,
- 48:14Speaker 5: and Honey, I think it like zapped.
- 48:16Speaker 3: All of my.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Everything.
- 48:20Speaker 6: You got a square with you though, I didn't think
- 48:22Speaker 6: you'd have it, so I told him what it was.
- 48:28Speaker 1: The correct answer is tilapi.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Type of Yeah, nile perch. That's what I was going
- 48:34Speaker 3: to bring up.
- 48:34Speaker 7: The integrity of this game, Artie, if.
- 48:36Speaker 1: You want to, I'm going to argue with you.
- 48:40Speaker 3: I mean.
- 48:43Speaker 6: Cicklid, but I wouldn't give it to him. Yeah, I'm
- 48:48Speaker 6: not in the running, but I put down nile perch.
- 48:51Speaker 6: You did put down both of them.
- 48:54Speaker 1: The only fish ahead of telapia on the worldwide consumption
- 48:58Speaker 1: list are tuna, and after tilapia on the list are
- 49:02Speaker 1: Alaskan pollock, cod and catfish. It's believed that tilapia were
- 49:06Speaker 1: the second fish in the world to be raised in aquaculture,
- 49:11Speaker 1: with tilapia farming starting about one thousand years after carp farming.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Wow, you know, I was in I was in.
- 49:19Speaker 6: The the highlands and in Luzon Island like in the Philippines, Okay,
- 49:24Speaker 6: and they have these big terraced They have these terraced
- 49:28Speaker 6: rice gardens, rice beds, and part of their crop rotation.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Is to flood it.
- 49:36Speaker 6: And raise tilapia in it. So when it's like, out
- 49:39Speaker 6: of production, it becomes a telapia pond. Even they're not
- 49:44Speaker 6: native there, but that's what they use now. Out of
- 49:45Speaker 6: production becomes a telapy pond. Then you that like fertilizes.
- 49:50Speaker 7: When did aquaculture start in the Philippines and the Hawaiian
- 49:55Speaker 7: islands because of the.
- 49:58Speaker 1: A long time ago, and I think it had said
- 50:00Speaker 1: carp was like thirty five hundred years ago or something
- 50:03Speaker 1: like that. In Tilapia came about a thousand years after that.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Randall has wrapped up the victory. But we have one
- 50:08Speaker 1: question left. We'll finish the game. The topic is conservation.
- 50:13Speaker 1: How many of California's national parks are named after a plant?
- 50:19Speaker 3: Come? Dude, what.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Don't you like about this one?
- 50:23Speaker 3: Steve? This is nothing.
- 50:27Speaker 1: How many of California's national parks are named after a plant?
- 50:34Speaker 1: This will not change the outcome of the game. Randall
- 50:37Speaker 1: has secured the victory. He has eight points right now.
- 50:43Speaker 1: How many of California's national parks are named after a plant?
- 50:50Speaker 3: Do you'all like how I kind of made my name
- 50:53Speaker 3: look like a wave?
- 50:55Speaker 1: I didn't notice that, but I do like that? Is
- 50:57Speaker 1: it because we're by the wave here in Missoula?
- 51:01Speaker 3: I am bored with this question.
- 51:04Speaker 7: Play is searching for praise. I can't get the question, but.
- 51:11Speaker 1: I mean, okay, uh huh. How many of California's national
- 51:18Speaker 1: parks are named after a plant? Does everybody have an answer?
- 51:24Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Steve saying one,
- 51:28Speaker 1: Marco saying four, Artist says three, Randall saying two Chili four,
- 51:35Speaker 1: cal one Clay two.
- 51:38Speaker 3: I want to go with two, even though I wrote one.
- 51:40Speaker 6: Okay, because there's probably two one of you the Redwoods.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Somebody has the correct answer in this room, only one
- 51:48Speaker 1: of us. The correct answer is three RTI got it right.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Can you guys name all three of them? Joshua Tree, Oh, Sequoia, Redwood?
- 52:01Speaker 2: Is that a Parker monument?
- 52:03Speaker 1: That's the three of them? You got them?
- 52:05Speaker 3: I wasn't thinking of that.
- 52:09Speaker 1: California has nine national parks, with three of those being
- 52:12Speaker 1: named after a plant. Those are Redwood National Parks, the
- 52:15Speaker 1: Koya National Park and Joshua Tree National Park. Joshua Tree
- 52:18Speaker 1: is the most popular, ranked ninth on the list of
- 52:22Speaker 1: the most visited national parks in the nation. Randal is
- 52:26Speaker 1: our winner with eight correct answer Randall. Where is the
- 52:31Speaker 1: five hundred dollars donation from meat Eater going to go.
- 52:35Speaker 8: The five hundred dollars is going to go to the
- 52:38Speaker 8: Mayfly Project, which that's a new one. I think teaches
- 52:42Speaker 8: foster kids and foster care how to fly fish and
- 52:45Speaker 8: about the world of conservation.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Why can't they go jigging.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Records?
- 52:51Speaker 8: There might be another project out there that comes from
- 52:54Speaker 8: Josh Merkle.
- 52:55Speaker 3: The project's project lead ahead.
- 52:59Speaker 1: To what's the organization? One more time?
- 53:00Speaker 3: The Mayfly Project.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Five hundred dollars going their way.
- 53:04Speaker 3: If you have an organization that you'd like me to
- 53:06Speaker 3: donate to.
- 53:07Speaker 5: Wow, Randall wins so much. I thought he's gonna have
- 53:10Speaker 5: his own conformation.
- 53:13Speaker 3: Do you win so much to people come to you
- 53:14Speaker 3: looking for them? We've got two more in the hopper here.
- 53:17Speaker 3: This guy emailed me about my hat.
- 53:19Speaker 8: He wanted this is a Missoula Osprey Minor League baseball
- 53:22Speaker 8: team hat when they changed the paddle heads and he
- 53:25Speaker 8: emailed to ask how he can get an Austin.
- 53:29Speaker 3: I got you, Yeah, he was like, while I got.
- 53:31Speaker 8: You, Next time you win, think of the Mayfly Project.
- 53:35Speaker 3: All joking aside, I do think they should. I mean,
- 53:37Speaker 3: I applaud the mission. Mm hmm. But spinning tackle. Well,
- 53:43Speaker 3: you kids should have the you know, teach kid to fish, right,
- 53:46Speaker 3: do you know what I'm saying?
- 53:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 53:47Speaker 3: Yeah, feed him for a lifetime.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Well done, Randall. How guilty do you feel about rolling
- 53:52Speaker 1: in here after sleeping in a nice bed last night?
- 53:56Speaker 3: Fresh and well open?
- 53:57Speaker 8: These I compare it to the NBA playoffs, like I
- 54:01Speaker 8: I I came in after some rest.
- 54:04Speaker 3: You guys have been grinding it out seven game series.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Are you saying you somehow earned it bye in the
- 54:08Speaker 2: first round?
- 54:09Speaker 3: Yeah? Somehow?
- 54:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm unproven, but it worked. You should have been
- 54:13Speaker 1: on the bus last night. We had Steve trying to
- 54:15Speaker 1: make NBA comparisons to members of the crew and what
- 54:19Speaker 1: they were doing on the stage. He said, we were
- 54:21Speaker 1: slam duncan in all night.
- 54:24Speaker 7: Did anybody else get up in the middle of the
- 54:27Speaker 7: hit the head and the increase and smell?
- 54:30Speaker 3: Oh it was wicked. Daybreak it was wicked. Oh yeah, yeah, yak.
- 54:37Speaker 6: The bus has some fumes and that maybe that gave
- 54:41Speaker 6: you a much better advantage than we know.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Are they biological or petro.
- 54:45Speaker 1: You'll find out soon. Join us next time for more
- 54:48Speaker 1: Meat Eater Trivia, the only game show where conservation always
- 54:52Speaker 1: wins
