Friday, 10 November 2023 He immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them. And when they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul. Acts 21:32 The words are more literally rendered, “Who, immediately, having taken soldiers and centurions, ran down upon them. And having seen the commander and the soldiers, stopped beating Paul” (CG). In the previous verse, it noted the commander of the cohort heard that all of Jerusalem was in an uproar.
