- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and come
- 0:29Speaker 1: laugh with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along
- 0:32Speaker 1: with Trade, Trinholm and Jerry Calledwell on a Friday, October
- 0:39Speaker 1: twenty fifth, twenty twenty four. Happy Friday, Tray.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Happy Friday, Dan, Happy Friday.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Jerry, Happy Friday, Guys, Happy Friday. Jerry. Like, we're doing
- 0:49Speaker 1: the doctor Doctor thing from spies like us, and I'm
- 0:53Speaker 1: okay with that. That movie needs to live on in
- 0:55Speaker 1: our hearts and minds forever. Starry Chevy Chase, Dan aykroyd
- 1:00Speaker 1: mm hmm. I don't want to waste any time. I
- 1:04Speaker 1: want to jump right into what I believe to be, gentlemen,
- 1:09Speaker 1: the best revenge story I have ever heard. Excellent. You
- 1:14Speaker 1: guys have heard this saying, hell hath no fury like
- 1:16Speaker 1: a woman scorned?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Shakespeare heard it, lived it. What's that said?
- 1:23Speaker 2: I've heard it, I've lived it.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Well, it's time to update it. And because you've truly
- 1:29Speaker 1: lived it, Trey, you'll agree with the new updated version,
- 1:32Speaker 1: which is hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?
- 1:36Speaker 1: In Texas?
- 1:41Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, I can't wait for this one.
- 1:49Speaker 1: A Texas woman who found out she was being cheated
- 1:53Speaker 1: on by her Mexican boyfriend deported him back to Mexico.
- 2:05Speaker 1: That's harsh. Yeah. I mean, look, if if you're gonna
- 2:13Speaker 1: do the crime, you need to be mindful of who
- 2:17Speaker 1: the judge, jury, and executioner is, of your of your time,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and in this case it was it was the girlfriend.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Now I don't have any way just yet to totally
- 2:32Speaker 1: verify this, but sentence on TikTok, I'm just going to
- 2:35Speaker 1: assume it's all real and uh factual for the sake
- 2:39Speaker 1: of our stuff here inside the treehouse. Scorned women tend
- 2:46Speaker 1: to have the best revenge stories right. In a TikTok video,
- 2:52Speaker 1: a young woman details how she caught her boyfriend cheating
- 2:56Speaker 1: and sneakily took him back to Mexico and he's now
- 3:00Speaker 1: unable to return to the United States. In the seven
- 3:03Speaker 1: minute long Spanish language video, the woman, who identifies herself
- 3:06Speaker 1: as a virgo, revealed that she first realized her boyfriend
- 3:12Speaker 1: was cheating when they got back from a vacation together,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and she wanted to send photos to herself from his phone.
- 3:18Speaker 1: If you're in a relationship in the twenty first century,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you know that's a thing. She quickly noticed that he
- 3:25Speaker 1: had a lot of messages on Snapchat that he had saved,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and since you're able to see saved messages on Snapchat,
- 3:33Speaker 1: she took a look and discovered photos that he had
- 3:36Speaker 1: the senders saved in his phone as contacts. She tells
- 3:41Speaker 1: her followers in the video, I need revenge, so she said,
- 3:44Speaker 1: she went to the bathroom and cried. She said, I
- 3:47Speaker 1: wanted revenge, and I started thinking what can I do.
- 3:51Speaker 1: She went on to add that she helped him get
- 3:53Speaker 1: to the United States, so she felt extra betrayed by
- 3:56Speaker 1: the infidelity, sort of like what my mom said, I
- 4:01Speaker 1: brought you into this world, I can take you out.
- 4:05Speaker 1: This young lady's version is I brought you into the
- 4:08Speaker 1: United States, I can take you out. She did. At
- 4:13Speaker 1: the time, she lived two hours away from San Antonio,
- 4:17Speaker 1: which is two hours away from Laredo. She told her
- 4:19Speaker 1: boyfriend they were going to six Flags in San Antonio,
- 4:22Speaker 1: but her plan was to actually drop him off in Laredo.
- 4:26Speaker 1: She offered a drive and told him to go to sleep,
- 4:29Speaker 1: and she let him know when they got there. It
- 4:32Speaker 1: wasn't until the second checkpoint going into Mexico that her boyfriend,
- 4:35Speaker 1: who had been sleeping the entire time realized what was happening.
- 4:39Speaker 1: The woman says her boyfriend asked her, why are you
- 4:41Speaker 1: doing this to me? And she said, I told him,
- 4:43Speaker 1: you want to be a bastard, will be a bastard.
- 4:45Speaker 1: You're not going to use me. I'm going to leave
- 4:48Speaker 1: you here, and she did. And she says that all
- 4:53Speaker 1: she left him with was his cell phone and a
- 4:55Speaker 1: one dollar bill. Oh yeah, you know what. Seriously, slow
- 5:06Speaker 1: clap to you, young lady. Good, well, well done, well done.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And I thought it was interesting also because in the
- 5:11Speaker 1: story it goes on to say that some of her
- 5:13Speaker 1: followers agreed with her actions, and others said that that
- 5:17Speaker 1: was taking it too far. I'm a huge fan of
- 5:21Speaker 1: when people say someone did something in retaliation to something
- 5:27Speaker 1: done to them and say it was too far. No,
- 5:31Speaker 1: that's not how this works. You guys know me. I'm
- 5:34Speaker 1: a huge fan of revenge. I love it. I have
- 5:37Speaker 1: a difficult time letting things go and I'd say I'm
- 5:40Speaker 1: working on it in therapy, but I'm not. But I
- 5:42Speaker 1: should I need to, I'm not. I love revenge. I
- 5:45Speaker 1: love revenge movies, I love revenge stories, love them all.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I especially love a good real life revenge story, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: that's what we have here. If you don't want to
- 5:56Speaker 1: be dropped off in Mexico because you cheated on your girlfriend,
- 6:00Speaker 1: first of all, don't cheat on your girlfriend. And second
- 6:03Speaker 1: of all, don't have her be the one that got
- 6:06Speaker 1: you into the United States in the first place. You
- 6:09Speaker 1: need to think big picture. If you're going to do something,
- 6:12Speaker 1: you have to you have to think what are the
- 6:13Speaker 1: possible consequences. Technically she could have killed him. That would
- 6:18Speaker 1: have been wrong, right, but she could have And these
- 6:21Speaker 1: are the things that if you're going to do bad
- 6:23Speaker 1: things you need to consider.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Also, uh, don't fall asleep with your girlfriend driving for
- 6:30Speaker 3: over two hours.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Bad move.
- 6:33Speaker 1: You know what. That's the second slow clap of the
- 6:37Speaker 1: show already, And good on you, Trey. Not only does
- 6:41Speaker 1: it not only does that show a total lack of
- 6:44Speaker 1: trust in your relationships, but it's at the same time
- 6:49Speaker 1: very wise advice.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Yeah, especially if you know, you know, if you know
- 6:54Speaker 3: you're doing something wrong and there's a possibility she might
- 6:57Speaker 3: have found out, then no, no, no clue. Is she
- 7:04Speaker 3: said she was a virgo? Yeah? Yeah, it would have
- 7:07Speaker 3: pegged her for a Gemini.
- 7:09Speaker 1: I was about to say, don't give us virgos a
- 7:11Speaker 1: bad name. Now I am married to a Gemini and
- 7:15Speaker 1: I know better. I haven't slept more than two hours
- 7:22Speaker 1: and fifteen years.
- 7:34Speaker 4: You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse

- 8:22Speaker 1: or even days going to a dealership or even worse,
- 8:25Speaker 1: dealership to dealership trying to find the perfect car, all
- 8:29Speaker 1: you got to do is check Fairlease's inventory. If they
- 8:31Speaker 1: don't have exactly what you want, they go get it.

- 9:27Speaker 1: info that is Hangman's dot com for DFW's best Haunted House.
- 9:33Speaker 1: All Right, Today is of course a Friday. And because
- 9:37Speaker 1: it's Friday, you know, there are lots of things that
- 9:40Speaker 1: I want to get to today, including Aaron Rodgers addressing
- 9:45Speaker 1: reports that he's a booger eater. Another Dallas cowboy is
- 9:50Speaker 1: in court uh and what snack food favorite is in
- 9:54Speaker 1: its Freaky Friday phase answers to all these questions inside
- 9:59Speaker 1: the tree today. But first, because it's Friday birthdays once again.
- 10:08Speaker 1: It is Fred Day, October twenty fifth, twenty twenty four
- 10:11Speaker 1: birthdays today. Mia Wassakowska turns thirty five. She plays Alice
- 10:16Speaker 1: in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland movies. Speaking of being
- 10:19Speaker 1: in phases that Tim Burton was in like a remake.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Phase did Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp, and then
- 10:25Speaker 1: he did Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp.
- 10:31Speaker 1: I hope he's done. Don't get me wrong. I love
- 10:33Speaker 1: Tim Burton as a director, and he has I think
- 10:35Speaker 1: arguably one of the absolute best Batman films. I think,
- 10:39Speaker 1: really when you if you really speak and think honestly
- 10:42Speaker 1: about it, when it comes to all the Batman movies,
- 10:47Speaker 1: I think Dark Knight Rises might be the best one,
- 10:54Speaker 1: which is Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. But I'd put the
- 10:57Speaker 1: nineteen eighty nine Batman right right behind it, I mean
- 11:01Speaker 1: right there, just behind it. The first one was brilliant.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Eighty nine was brilliant. I think the second one was
- 11:07Speaker 1: when they got it one hundred percent right, And that's
- 11:11Speaker 1: when you think that, yeah, because I don't think anyone
- 11:13Speaker 1: necessarily said that the second Tim Burton Batman was bad.
- 11:16Speaker 1: It's just that the eighty nine one was really good.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I liked the second one. It was really dark. I
- 11:22Speaker 1: thought Danny DeVito was outstanding in that is Penguin and gross,
- 11:26Speaker 1: which was kind of good. That's when they decided that
- 11:29Speaker 1: it was just too dark and they wanted to take
- 11:31Speaker 1: it more in the Adam West direction. Yeah, they went
- 11:35Speaker 1: too far with that because then we got Batman Forever,
- 11:38Speaker 1: and I've never wanted Forever to end more than during
- 11:41Speaker 1: that movie. I know, right, bat Nipples. I mean, it's
- 11:46Speaker 1: basically a parody of itself at that point, Trey, where
- 11:50Speaker 1: do you fall on this?
- 11:53Speaker 3: You know, as I've gotten older, I tend to think
- 11:58Speaker 3: that you are correct that the eighty nine is the
- 12:01Speaker 3: best of the Batman.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Movies because as.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Kind of like where Marvel went right with the Marvel
- 12:10Speaker 3: Universe and the Avengers and everything. It has enough levity
- 12:14Speaker 3: in it that it's a good balance, whereas like the
- 12:19Speaker 3: Dark Knight series, Yes they are great, but they are dark,
- 12:24Speaker 3: you know. And also, as I've gotten older, I have
- 12:27Speaker 3: to I have Michael Keaton's the best Batman.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I just got chills. And it's amazing to think because
- 12:34Speaker 1: every single time a Batman has been cast, I think,
- 12:37Speaker 1: with the exception of Adam West, because the character wasn't
- 12:39Speaker 1: really has never never been cast before then that I'm
- 12:43Speaker 1: aware of. So Adam West had no controversy going into
- 12:46Speaker 1: his role as Batman. Every Batman since has been met
- 12:49Speaker 1: with controversy. Ben Affleck, controversial, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, met
- 12:55Speaker 1: with some the Sparkly Vampire and the New ones. He
- 13:01Speaker 1: took a lot of heat, and honestly, in the new one,
- 13:03Speaker 1: the Batman, I thought he was really really good, very believable.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But yeah, Michael Keaton, I took a ton of heat
- 13:12Speaker 1: going into his portrayal of Batman and he was phenomenal.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And you're right, Tray. It kind of reminds me of
- 13:19Speaker 1: when Marvel cast Robert Downey Junior is iron Man, because
- 13:23Speaker 1: iron Man supposed to be big and tough and strong,
- 13:24Speaker 1: but it was really about the personality and the acting, right,
- 13:27Speaker 1: And I think that's the reason why Tim Burton went
- 13:29Speaker 1: with Michael Keaton, because he's a phenomenal actor and you
- 13:32Speaker 1: can have a guy that is so good. He can
- 13:35Speaker 1: go from playing multiple versions of himself and multiple uh huh,
- 13:40Speaker 1: or he can also play a thousand year old demon
- 13:43Speaker 1: named Beetlejuice, and he can also play Batman. He's phenomenal.
- 13:48Speaker 3: M Well, it's like I mean, on paper, when they
- 13:52Speaker 3: cast Val Kilmer as Batman, you're like, Oh, that's gonna
- 13:55Speaker 3: be awesome.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I think we need earn something here. I think all
- 14:01Speaker 1: of us nerds need to learn that on a just
- 14:04Speaker 1: while Hollywood has burned us, there's no doubt Hollywood has
- 14:07Speaker 1: burned us. If you have doubt in your mind about
- 14:11Speaker 1: someone's casting as a superhero, just wait until you see it.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Because honestly, I thought I thought Ben Affleck was fine
- 14:17Speaker 1: as Batman. He was, he was fine. I had more
- 14:21Speaker 1: issues with them his movies as a whole than I
- 14:23Speaker 1: did his casting in the role. Same with Superman. There's
- 14:28Speaker 1: issues with that even currently with the new movie in
- 14:30Speaker 1: production and everything, and everyone's like, oh, this guy blah
- 14:32Speaker 1: blah blah, Just wait till you see it. It might
- 14:35Speaker 1: be great because, like you just said, Trey, we all
- 14:37Speaker 1: thought that the Val Kilmer Batman was gonna be good,
- 14:39Speaker 1: and look how that turned out. Yeah, Hugh Jackman as
- 14:43Speaker 1: Wolverine probably got more heat than anybody else taking a role.
- 14:49Speaker 1: And he's now He's now the the benchmark, the barometer.
- 14:56Speaker 1: He's the one that we compare most superhero castings to
- 14:59Speaker 1: now and because of that, Brian Reynolds is right. They'll
- 15:04Speaker 1: probably make him do it till he's ninety, because he's
- 15:06Speaker 1: a right at other birthdays. Today, Ciarra, who once walked
- 15:11Speaker 1: past my office at the radio station, she's thirty nine today.
- 15:14Speaker 1: She also gets to walk around and on top of
- 15:16Speaker 1: Russell Wilson from the Pittsburgh Steelers whenever she wants. Katie
- 15:20Speaker 1: Perry turns forty. Josh Henderson, who played John ross Ewing
- 15:24Speaker 1: on T and t's Updated Dallas Show, is forty three.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Leslie Grossman, who's Coco Saint Pierre Vanderbilt on Ahs Apocalypse,
- 15:32Speaker 1: he's fifty three. Craig Robinson, best known as Darrell from
- 15:35Speaker 1: the Office, is also fifty three. But he's also from
- 15:37Speaker 1: another great movie in Trey. Feel free to give me
- 15:39Speaker 1: a hard time on this unless you know better. Also
- 15:43Speaker 1: in that little diddy called Hot Tub Time Machine with
- 15:46Speaker 1: John Cusack and you know what, man, that's a good
- 15:50Speaker 1: fun movie. Have you seen it me. I have not,
- 15:54Speaker 1: Trey has not, Jerry, I bet you've seen it. I
- 15:57Speaker 1: have seen it, and their depiction of the eight phenomenal
- 16:00Speaker 1: took me right back into the eighties. It was good
- 16:03Speaker 1: the movie as a whole. Just now watch that one
- 16:08Speaker 1: tray hot Tub time Machine. It has a sequel, don't
- 16:10Speaker 1: do it. First of all, I was surprised John Cusack
- 16:14Speaker 1: was ever in a movie titled Hot Tub time Machine.
- 16:16Speaker 1: But he was, and it was great, and he smartly
- 16:18Speaker 1: did not come back for the sequel. So I just
- 16:20Speaker 1: keep that in mind. Hot Tub time Machine one, just
- 16:22Speaker 1: like there's only one taken, Just to take that to
- 16:24Speaker 1: your grave. So Craig Robinson fifty three today, and a
- 16:28Speaker 1: couple more quick birthdays today. Nancy Cartwright, the voice of
- 16:31Speaker 1: Bart Simpson, Nelson Monks, Roden Todd Flanders, Ralph Wigham from
- 16:36Speaker 1: The Simpsons. She is sixty seven today. And Glenn Tipton
- 16:40Speaker 1: from Judas Priest is sixty seven. He's the Judas Priest
- 16:44Speaker 1: guitarist who's battling Parkinson's and thinking about that that's a
- 16:48Speaker 1: challenging disease to overcome, but I think as a heavy
- 16:51Speaker 1: metal guitarist it might actually work in your favor. And
- 16:56Speaker 1: then finally, did you know that Mary and Ross who
- 16:59Speaker 1: played missus C on Happy Days Marian Cunningham, she is
- 17:04Speaker 1: ninety six today. She is still alive. Wow, Yeah, I
- 17:12Speaker 1: did not know that. I'm not sure if she knows that.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I mean, in ninety six, who knows what she knows,
- 17:18Speaker 1: But you know what, good on her. I just hope
- 17:21Speaker 1: that if I reach anywhere near that age, I'm able
- 17:23Speaker 1: to actually celebrate it in some fashion as opposed to
- 17:26Speaker 1: just I don't know, walking into a room and seeing
- 17:29Speaker 1: a cake and not knowing what it is. It's happy birthday,
- 17:35Speaker 1: mariyan Ross ninety six. Oh, actually there was one more
- 17:38Speaker 1: I wanted to mention. He's passed away all the way
- 17:41Speaker 1: back in nineteen eighty nine. He passed away, but he
- 17:43Speaker 1: had some very memorable movie roles. John Matusac He was
- 17:47Speaker 1: the ex football player turned actor, probably best known as
- 17:50Speaker 1: Sloth and Goonies, but he was also in a little
- 17:53Speaker 1: film that I've seen called Ice Pirates with Bob Urick Terrey.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Have you seen Ice Pirates? No, Jerry, I have. Should
- 18:06Speaker 1: we recommend Ice Pirates to Trey? Yeah? I kind of
- 18:15Speaker 1: knew the edit of that one myself but you know what,
- 18:21Speaker 1: it's got space herpes, and that's that's gonna make you curious.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Right, space herpes.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, you're gonna get Hot Subtie Machine and Ice Pirates.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Only one of those films has space herpes, and it's
- 18:35Speaker 1: not the one you would think just by the title.
- 18:41Speaker 5: You're in the tree. Visit us online a treehouse on

- 20:12Speaker 1: As you just heard, even if he dies, he's still
- 20:15Speaker 1: going to honor this stuff. I mean, that's that's that's
- 20:18Speaker 1: some serious integrity and quality craftsmanship to have the confidence
- 20:22Speaker 1: to be like, yeah, this is how we do things.

- 20:53Speaker 1: That's Treehouse on Air dot com. So Aaron Rodgers has
- 21:00Speaker 1: addressed the controversy about whether or not he picked his
- 21:06Speaker 1: nose on Sunday Night Football. I'd say about whether or
- 21:09Speaker 1: not because if you watch the video like we did
- 21:12Speaker 1: inside the Treehouse, that looks pretty obvious. But he was
- 21:20Speaker 1: on the Pat McAfee show. I believe he does the
- 21:22Speaker 1: show every single week, And to Pat McAfee's credit, if
- 21:26Speaker 1: anyone in sports is gonna ask Aaron Rodgers, did you
- 21:29Speaker 1: eat your boogers? On National TV, it's gonna be Pat McAfee.
- 21:31Speaker 1: If Aaron Rodgers came on this show, we also would
- 21:33Speaker 1: ask that question, because I actually on Sunday Night actually
- 21:38Speaker 1: watched some of his postgame press conference just to see
- 21:41Speaker 1: if any of the reporters would ask him, Aaron, did
- 21:44Speaker 1: you pick a bug on the sideline tonight? And those
- 21:47Speaker 1: cowards didn't ask the question. So he had to wait
- 21:49Speaker 1: a few days, and finally we have an answer in
- 21:52Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers addresses the booger eater video from Sunday Night
- 21:56Speaker 1: Football on the Pat McAfee show.
- 22:00Speaker 7: Never eat my boogers. That's one thing I'm very proud of.
- 22:03Speaker 7: It's a tough look.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Anybody believe that now? I mean, I mean we're talking
- 22:08Speaker 1: about a guy that didn't even talk about his family
- 22:11Speaker 1: for years. Uh, But he's quick to deny eating boogers.
- 22:14Speaker 1: And to me, I just find that to be a
- 22:16Speaker 1: bunch of bolt because even as a kid, I know
- 22:20Speaker 1: I hate my boogers. I think we all did as kids.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Look you, when you're a really small young child, you
- 22:26Speaker 1: put your fingers places and you put them in your mouth,
- 22:28Speaker 1: and you taste stuff. You're learning things, and you eventually
- 22:30Speaker 1: learned not to do those things, either because they taste bad,
- 22:33Speaker 1: they smell bad, or people look at you funny for
- 22:34Speaker 1: doing them. That's why I don't eat my boogers anymore. Uh.
- 22:37Speaker 1: And I stopped pretty quickly as a kid, because I think,
- 22:40Speaker 1: if I remember correctly, the first time I did it,
- 22:42Speaker 1: I was like, oh, I never really was tempted ever. Again.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I used to make sandwiches with him out of paint chips.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I want you to say that again, slowly, Jerry, and
- 22:53Speaker 1: use all the nouns, not them to like what say
- 22:56Speaker 1: it again? I used to make booger sandwiches using paint chips.
- 23:04Speaker 1: That explained a lot, I know. And that was back
- 23:07Speaker 1: in the seventies when it had lead and it's still Yes,
- 23:15Speaker 1: so you ate lead based booger sandwiches as a child, Yes,
- 23:20Speaker 1: just a couple of times. As much as I want
- 23:27Speaker 1: to move on from this story now, I'm fully intrigued.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Did you use nail clippings as your chips?
- 23:34Speaker 1: Oh? No, No? Do you hear the sound of disappointment
- 23:38Speaker 1: in his voice?
- 23:38Speaker 2: Straight?
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how that could have been. That could have
- 23:42Speaker 1: been the That could have been the dream sandwich right there,
- 23:44Speaker 1: right right. No, I didn't. I didn't get into the
- 23:49Speaker 1: whole nail clipping thing till much much later. At least
- 23:53Speaker 1: you didn't eat those, so you know, I think it's
- 23:56Speaker 1: important since Aaron Rodgers is denying, well, let meanly finished
- 24:00Speaker 1: playing his entire statement from the Pat McAfee show about
- 24:04Speaker 1: whether or not he ate his own boogers on Sunday
- 24:06Speaker 1: Night Football. Actually never eating my boogers.
- 24:09Speaker 7: That's one thing I'm very proud of. It's a tough
- 24:11Speaker 7: look to try and defend because that video is a
- 24:14Speaker 7: little incriminating. I can tell you that there needs to
- 24:16Speaker 7: be a side view that shows that there wasn't a
- 24:18Speaker 7: book that actually went in the mouth. Yeah, it's a
- 24:21Speaker 7: bad look.
- 24:22Speaker 1: So let's do that. Let's be fair and and let's
- 24:25Speaker 1: take a look at the video to see there is
- 24:28Speaker 1: no side view, but at least to analyze it. Once again,
- 24:32Speaker 1: let's go to the tape like they do in football,
- 24:34Speaker 1: and see if we believe that Aaron Rodgers, if we
- 24:39Speaker 1: believe what Aaron Rodgers is saying that he did not
- 24:41Speaker 1: eat a booger on Sunday Night football.
- 24:45Speaker 8: For the second time this year, play a Thursday night
- 24:48Speaker 8: game against Houston on Halloween.
- 24:49Speaker 1: He is picking the nose right to the mouth. I mean,
- 24:52Speaker 1: they will be five. Here's here. It isn't slow mo,
- 24:57Speaker 1: You're okay, reaches into his nose scratches and then he
- 25:01Speaker 1: does like that, you know, the wipe, and then his
- 25:05Speaker 1: teeth moved like it's clinching on something. I'm sorry, but
- 25:08Speaker 1: that's like, look this this may not be the Supruder film,
- 25:11Speaker 1: but that looks pretty incriminating to me.
- 25:15Speaker 3: I'm gonna have to give him the benefit of the
- 25:16Speaker 3: doubt because you know, finger finger is going down like this,
- 25:21Speaker 3: It's not so I'm.
- 25:25Speaker 2: You know, it's uh. I hate to say it, but
- 25:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to side with him on this.
- 25:32Speaker 1: You're gonna be on the wrong side of history. Pal.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I look at it this week because I I fidget
- 25:38Speaker 1: a lot. I picked my fingers. I am not ashamed
- 25:42Speaker 1: to say, as an adult, I pick my nose. We
- 25:44Speaker 1: all do, we have to, but I do it in
- 25:45Speaker 1: the privacy of places I don't like. I was on
- 25:48Speaker 1: TV recently, and I made sure not to put my
- 25:50Speaker 1: fingers anywhere near my nose because I knew I was
- 25:52Speaker 1: on TV and uh. And I still would like occasionally
- 25:55Speaker 1: mess with my fingers and stuff, but I never went
- 25:57Speaker 1: anywhere near my nose because I was on TV and
- 26:01Speaker 1: I knew it. If I'm a quarterback in the NFL,
- 26:04Speaker 1: I know I'm on TV every stinking second. I'm not
- 26:07Speaker 1: going to put my fingers anywhere near my nose, and
- 26:09Speaker 1: if I do, I've got to keep the the awareness
- 26:13Speaker 1: to make sure I don't then put my fingers in
- 26:15Speaker 1: my mouth. Because he did also he goes from nose
- 26:21Speaker 1: to mouth and then to towel. Had he gone nose towel, mouth,
- 26:24Speaker 1: then I think it would have been okay. Well he
- 26:26Speaker 1: stopped and wiped on this mustache too. There a little
- 26:29Speaker 1: bit there. I think there have been some evidence there
- 26:31Speaker 1: on the said that's the save for later on the filters.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Yeah right, you got sweat, you've got dirt, I said,
- 26:40Speaker 3: I I sweat and dirt form boogers.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Sweat and dirt along with snot in the nose form burgers.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Isn't that on your ingredient list for your sandwich?
- 26:48Speaker 2: Jerry?
- 26:50Speaker 1: Yes, there you go.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Like I said, I it's it's his explanation is plausible.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I will, I will say this. I give him credit
- 27:05Speaker 1: for addressing it. There's one other famous denial of booger
- 27:11Speaker 1: eating that I've seen in my research this week, and
- 27:13Speaker 1: that was from Seth Green on Conan O'Brien show years ago,
- 27:16Speaker 1: like ten years ago, I think he was on the
- 27:19Speaker 1: show like eleven years ago. And it's all over YouTube.
- 27:23Speaker 1: You can find this. It looks exactly like Aaron Rodgers does.
- 27:26Speaker 1: He picks his nose a little bit and then it's
- 27:29Speaker 1: with one hand and he takes it down to his
- 27:30Speaker 1: lap and he can see him rolling it, and then
- 27:33Speaker 1: his other hand in his lap comes over and then
- 27:34Speaker 1: there's a transfer to his left hand, and then he
- 27:37Speaker 1: comes back up to his face and then he kind
- 27:39Speaker 1: of gets in the mouth. And the next time he
- 27:42Speaker 1: goes on Conan, they had to address it, and they
- 27:44Speaker 1: pointed it out, and even even Seth Green, also like
- 27:47Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers, denied eating boogers, but he did say it
- 27:51Speaker 1: looks bad. It looks like I ada booger. But I
- 27:54Speaker 1: promise you I didn't. I don't know if I want
- 27:57Speaker 1: to believe him or if it's just next level gaslighting.
- 28:02Speaker 1: I just know that if you're gonna go on TV,
- 28:04Speaker 1: keep your fingers away from your nose and you won't
- 28:06Speaker 1: have any problems. Yes. In unrelated but kind of related news,
- 28:10Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys, they found themselves back in court, not
- 28:13Speaker 1: the team, but one of its players, which is not
- 28:15Speaker 1: new territory for any Cowboys players, but in this situation
- 28:19Speaker 1: it is kind of new. Arguably, the Cowboys best player,
- 28:26Speaker 1: Brandon Aubrey, the kicker who has scored more than half
- 28:29Speaker 1: the points for the entire team this season, found himself
- 28:33Speaker 1: in a Tarrant County Court this week. He missed practice
- 28:35Speaker 1: on Wednesday because not because he kicked anybody illegally, but
- 28:39Speaker 1: because he reported for jury duty. You know, I mean,
- 28:46Speaker 1: it's good to be wanted, and so now he's not
- 28:49Speaker 1: finding himself on two teams. Brandon Aubrey was selected to
- 28:53Speaker 1: serve on a twelve person jury for a felony assault
- 28:55Speaker 1: case in Tarrant County centered around a second degree stringularation charge.
- 29:03Speaker 1: They did say though, that he's he was respected, that
- 29:06Speaker 1: he was expected to return to court yesterday and today.
- 29:09Speaker 1: The judge who's presiding over the case said, uh, it's
- 29:14Speaker 1: expected to work with Aubrey around his football schedule, meaning
- 29:18Speaker 1: that well, court isn't usually in session on nights and weekends,
- 29:21Speaker 1: and Brandon Aubrey is a kicker, so it's not like
- 29:23Speaker 1: he's intimately involved in you know, game plans and such.
- 29:27Speaker 1: All he's got to do is kick, so it's not
- 29:29Speaker 1: expected to effect. He's playing for the Cowboys Sunday night
- 29:35Speaker 1: against the forty nine ers, and God knows we'll need
- 29:37Speaker 1: him because chances are he's going to be the only
- 29:39Speaker 1: one that scores. But if he misses Sunday, if he
- 29:47Speaker 1: misses quarter. If he misses the if he misses a
- 29:49Speaker 1: field this.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Is a field goal on Sunday, then a lot of
- 29:52Speaker 2: people questioning his decisions.
- 29:54Speaker 1: We're gonna burn that court to the ground, and Jerry
- 29:58Speaker 1: Jones will probably leading the charge. I'm surprised, like the
- 30:02Speaker 1: Cowboys at the poll they've gotten North Texas, I'm surprised
- 30:05Speaker 1: Jerry Jones didn't go really and then they just go
- 30:07Speaker 1: your number, whatever number you are, you were excused, thank
- 30:10Speaker 1: you for your time, right. I'm also kind of surprised
- 30:16Speaker 1: that there's not specific practice time for the kickers. I mean,
- 30:21Speaker 1: it's a very short amount of time, but it's important
- 30:25Speaker 1: they have that. But he does that separate, you know?
- 30:28Speaker 1: And then I mean, look, if I'm being honest, of
- 30:31Speaker 1: all the players on the team that need the least
- 30:32Speaker 1: amount of practice is him.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Yeah, his his practice time either involves a bag full
- 30:38Speaker 3: of balls and a stand or occasionally the holder.
- 30:43Speaker 1: That's which also used to be the role of a
- 30:45Speaker 1: number of players at the White House, the Dallas Cowboys
- 30:48Speaker 1: White House back in the nineties, or maybe that was
- 30:53Speaker 1: the Cowboys group. Is I'm getting confused with?
- 30:56Speaker 2: And there was different stuff? What't balls in the bags?
- 31:03Speaker 3: Line?
- 31:03Speaker 4: That Treehouse on air dot com.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Yeah eight balls, Yeah, lots of those.

- 33:11Speaker 1: duty in North Texas. Alrighty, next up here we go, Jerry.
- 33:20Speaker 1: This week we've been playing verses every day inside the Treehouse,
- 33:25Speaker 1: and we've taken on a spooky version which I think
- 33:27Speaker 1: you'll appreciate. So I'm going to share this with you
- 33:31Speaker 1: now as well, So if you would, I'm going to
- 33:37Speaker 1: show you the original spooky verses that we did this week,
- 33:42Speaker 1: and that is a dark stairwell in which you are
- 33:46Speaker 1: on the Middle landing and in order to escape, you
- 33:49Speaker 1: have to go either upstairs or downstairs. And in our
- 33:53Speaker 1: first example here you either go upstairs and take on
- 33:59Speaker 1: Michael Meyer or downstairs and take on Jason Vorhees to escape.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Which direction are you gonna go? Mike Myers, go on
- 34:10Speaker 1: Mike Myers Trey? Which way did you go.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Down?
- 34:14Speaker 1: You went down for Jason Voorhees. It's very brave of
- 34:16Speaker 1: both you and he Really is a definition of stuck
- 34:19Speaker 1: between a rock and a hard place, because probably gonna
- 34:22Speaker 1: die either way. And then the next one we did,
- 34:26Speaker 1: I'd like to get your input on this one too,
- 34:28Speaker 1: Jerry Day two was you're in a dark stairwell on
- 34:33Speaker 1: the Middle landing. In order to escape you have to
- 34:36Speaker 1: go upstairs through Freddy Krueger or downstairs through Pennywise the
- 34:40Speaker 1: clown trey. Which way did you say you were gonna
- 34:43Speaker 1: go down. And why was that? Uh?
- 34:47Speaker 3: Because Freddy Krueger scares the piss out of me, and
- 34:51Speaker 3: I still go with the advantage, you know, higher ground
- 34:54Speaker 3: advantage makes sense.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Trey's big on the high ground. He wants to
- 34:59Speaker 1: avoid going up. He likes to go down. That makes
- 35:04Speaker 1: a lot of sense. So, Jerry, are you going up
- 35:06Speaker 1: against Freddy or down against Pennywise? That's a really hard decision.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I have a lot of That's that's the idea. I
- 35:14Speaker 1: have a lot that I could talk to both of
- 35:15Speaker 1: them about. You mean, like comparing notes. I mean, I
- 35:23Speaker 1: think I've I think I'd have to go with down
- 35:26Speaker 1: on this one. Really, you're going down against Pennywise?
- 35:29Speaker 2: Okay?
- 35:29Speaker 1: I think rog and I were both in agreement that
- 35:32Speaker 1: we're going to take on the guy in a fedora
- 35:34Speaker 1: in a sweater. Also because Pennywise scares the hell out
- 35:37Speaker 1: of me, not just because he's a clown, but because
- 35:39Speaker 1: he's a demon that comes around every twenty seven years
- 35:41Speaker 1: and eats children and such, and he turns into big,
- 35:45Speaker 1: scary monsters that freak me out. And I don't want
- 35:48Speaker 1: to ever be eaten. And at least with Freddy, he's
- 35:50Speaker 1: just gonna slice and he's just gonna stab you a bunch.
- 35:52Speaker 1: I guess I can live with that, or I mean
- 35:55Speaker 1: another another reason, another good thing is that Penny penny
- 35:59Speaker 1: Wise likes to deal with children, and Freddie likes to
- 36:02Speaker 1: deal with teenagers. And I've aged out of both of
- 36:03Speaker 1: those categories smartly. Smartly, yeah, I will say if if
- 36:09Speaker 1: I'm in that stairwell with another person and one of
- 36:15Speaker 1: them is a kid, like I just been down the stairs,
- 36:18Speaker 1: yes I am. I'm rolling them down the stairs, and
- 36:19Speaker 1: I'll follow close behind, and I'll take my chances because
- 36:22Speaker 1: at least maybe that way, maybe Pennywise is hungry and
- 36:25Speaker 1: I'll be able to sneak around. That brings us to
- 36:29Speaker 1: today's version. Oh wait, that's the wrong versus music, because
- 36:35Speaker 1: we're doing spooky versus one second. That brings us to
- 36:42Speaker 1: today's spooky verses. Inside the Tree Hoose, you find yourself
- 36:49Speaker 1: in a darkly lit stairwell, no windows, no visible doors.
- 36:55Speaker 1: In order to escape, you can either go upstairs or downstairs.
- 36:59Speaker 1: In this dark and scary stairwell, however, you are met
- 37:04Speaker 1: with two terrifying foes. Upstairs, you would have to go
- 37:10Speaker 1: through Reagan McNeil, the girl from the Exorcist. Downstairs you
- 37:17Speaker 1: have to go through Samara Morgan, the girl who comes
- 37:19Speaker 1: out of the TV in the Ring. So, gentlemen, are
- 37:24Speaker 1: you going upstairs or downstairs to attempt your great escape?
- 37:31Speaker 1: You can think out loud, tray, let's start with you.
- 37:33Speaker 1: What are your thoughts? Initially downstairs the girl from the Ring?
- 37:40Speaker 1: Upstairs the girl from the Exorcist, And in this photo
- 37:45Speaker 1: that I'm showing the girl from the Ring is what
- 37:47Speaker 1: you'd expect. But on the stairs, I made sure to
- 37:50Speaker 1: use the spider walk Reagan McNeil from the Extorsist coming
- 37:53Speaker 1: down the stairs make it extra freaky.
- 37:57Speaker 3: I mean I'd go upstairs just uh, it'd be like
- 38:03Speaker 3: a third date.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Uh, Jerry, would you like to lodge the same answer? No, no,
- 38:24Speaker 1: f that I'm going down. I would see her coming down,
- 38:26Speaker 1: I would see the Extressist check coming down the stairs,
- 38:28Speaker 1: and I would not care what's down at the at
- 38:30Speaker 1: the bottom that all of that that is Nope, that
- 38:34Speaker 1: is that is That is a hard pass. So so
- 38:37Speaker 1: you don't you don't want to lick the Exorcism? Yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 1: it sounds like trey mite. So I think I might

- 40:43Speaker 1: TikTok and TikTok. We are on the TikTok. Thank you,
- 40:48Speaker 1: Thank you Trey for being our TikTok zar, which I
- 40:51Speaker 1: never thought I would say. The oldest guy on the
- 40:56Speaker 1: show is the TikTok expert. So take that all right?
- 40:59Speaker 1: Here we go up inside the treehouse. Is women have
- 41:04Speaker 1: a new reason why they refuse to split the bill
- 41:07Speaker 1: on dates. All right, Speaking of TikTok, there's a young
- 41:12Speaker 1: lady on TikTok that's had a lot of momentum on
- 41:15Speaker 1: the platform because of her view on the reason why
- 41:19Speaker 1: men should still cover the entire bill on a date
- 41:24Speaker 1: as opposed to splitting it. And it's not because she's
- 41:27Speaker 1: old fashioned, has nothing to do with chivalry. She's got
- 41:30Speaker 1: her own reasons why she thinks men need to, you know,
- 41:34Speaker 1: put the entire bill on a date. I'll let her
- 41:36Speaker 1: speak for yourself.
- 41:37Speaker 10: I refuse to split the bill on dates because I'm
- 41:40Speaker 10: actually splitting the bill before i even get to the date.
- 41:43Speaker 10: Let me explain myself regardless, at the cost of the
- 41:45Speaker 10: check at the end of the date, I am spending
- 41:47Speaker 10: money to show up. As soon as I have a
- 41:48Speaker 10: date scheduled. I book a cycle bar class. Then I
- 41:51Speaker 10: got my eyebrows done. I see kaylin epispoke browse.
- 41:53Speaker 1: He says, I'm real quick. I'm going to try to
- 41:55Speaker 1: write all these down, So she goes, spend class. Yes, eyebrows. Okay,
- 42:04Speaker 1: here we go.
- 42:05Speaker 10: Let me back this up, just to hair cost of
- 42:08Speaker 10: the check at the end of the date, I am
- 42:10Speaker 10: spending money to show up as soon as I have
- 42:12Speaker 10: a date scheduled. I book a cycle bar class, and
- 42:14Speaker 10: then I got my eyebrows done. I see kaylin epispoke brows.
- 42:17Speaker 10: Because I am not bringing a unibrow to happy Hour.
- 42:19Speaker 10: My eyebrows are probably the most complimented feature I have.
- 42:22Speaker 10: So we just do a quick tweez session to clean
- 42:24Speaker 10: everything up. The tweezing is painless. These are the best
- 42:26Speaker 10: results I've ever seen. My brows look amazing, and I
- 42:28Speaker 10: had no breakouts after. Even though I don't think my
- 42:31Speaker 10: date cares about what my hands look like, I feel
- 42:33Speaker 10: the need to get a manicure before showing up. But
- 42:35Speaker 10: this Japanese jail manicure was seventy five whole dollars. Even
- 42:39Speaker 10: if I had my manicure and my brows done earlier
- 42:41Speaker 10: in the week, it still takes a whole entire day
- 42:43Speaker 10: to prepare for a date, like planning my outfit, planning
- 42:46Speaker 10: my hair washed, schedule, being mindful about what I eat
- 42:49Speaker 10: before the date. I love garlic knots. I'm not having
- 42:51Speaker 10: garlic knots to pregame. There are so many different factors
- 42:55Speaker 10: that go into me preparing for a date, like me
- 42:58Speaker 10: even checking for my gray hairs, showering, doing my hair
- 43:01Speaker 10: and makeup, and picking out an outfit could be two hours. Meanwhile,
- 43:04Speaker 10: the guy hasn't had a haircut in weeks and shows
- 43:06Speaker 10: up in the outfit he warded the office. And then
- 43:08Speaker 10: a guy is going to ask you to split the
- 43:10Speaker 10: bill on a date when he won't even split the conversation.
- 43:12Speaker 10: It's always one sided conversations with the guys that asked
- 43:15Speaker 10: to split the bill. A guy like that doesn't even
- 43:17Speaker 10: ask you questions about yourself. Meanwhile, I put so much
- 43:19Speaker 10: energy into leading the conversation on these dates. I look amazing.
- 43:23Speaker 10: I bring my killer personality. I spent all this time
- 43:25Speaker 10: and money to get to the date. I am not
- 43:27Speaker 10: taking my credit card out once I'm there.
- 43:32Speaker 1: There's a lot to unpack there. Boys, where would you
- 43:34Speaker 1: like to start. Let's start with the single guy being Trey?
- 43:39Speaker 2: What you got?
- 43:42Speaker 3: First of all, I'm not a If you ask a
- 43:47Speaker 3: girl out, I think you should pay. I'll say that, okay,
- 43:51Speaker 3: And this is not the first time I've seen this
- 43:53Speaker 3: whole you know. In fact, I've seen a couple of
- 43:57Speaker 3: videos where you know, girls asked the guy to pay
- 44:00Speaker 3: for their pre date expenses. Uh, like that's that's that's
- 44:09Speaker 3: a you expense. Yeah, so you know, but none of
- 44:15Speaker 3: those are valid reasons. You know, if if he asked
- 44:19Speaker 3: you out on a date, you know you probably didn't
- 44:24Speaker 3: weren't all dressed up or anything else when he saw
- 44:26Speaker 3: you out. So if he asked you out one way,
- 44:30Speaker 3: you know, don't go overboard for the actual date. And
- 44:33Speaker 3: you know, if you have bad conversation or whatever else
- 44:36Speaker 3: that's on you, you know, it's a first dates they
- 44:38Speaker 3: go bad.
- 44:40Speaker 1: I don't understand why you would spend so much money.
- 44:43Speaker 1: And this is the male mind that that she and
- 44:45Speaker 1: women like her do not understand, is why would you
- 44:49Speaker 1: put forth that much time and effort into something that
- 44:52Speaker 1: you don't know if it's even gonna be worth it
- 44:55Speaker 1: to do?
- 44:56Speaker 2: Right?
- 44:57Speaker 1: Why why two hours just to get ready plus the nails.
- 45:02Speaker 1: But first of all, that's class the eyebrows. I mean,
- 45:06Speaker 1: that's half a that's that's half a damn day just
- 45:09Speaker 1: for one date that you don't know if it's gonna
- 45:10Speaker 1: be good or not. If you're gonna do all that stuff,
- 45:12Speaker 1: do that on date three when you guys might be well,
- 45:16Speaker 1: and then throw in a wax.
- 45:18Speaker 3: You know, how slovenly do you look in your normal day,
- 45:22Speaker 3: day to day routine that it's a full day for
- 45:25Speaker 3: you to get ready.
- 45:26Speaker 2: For a date. And what what do you think one
- 45:28Speaker 2: spin class is going to do? Yeah?
- 45:30Speaker 1: I love that you think that one spin class is
- 45:33Speaker 1: going to put you into a size eight for the date. Now,
- 45:36Speaker 1: it's the only time you do that. You don't do
- 45:38Speaker 1: that for the and we know that she does because
- 45:40Speaker 1: then she gave herself the out. Well, even if I've
- 45:43Speaker 1: done that earlier in the week. Well, of course you
- 45:44Speaker 1: have because the spin cycle class is your exercise, and
- 45:46Speaker 1: you're gonna get your nails done, you're gonna have your
- 45:48Speaker 1: eyebrow sweeze, you're gonna have That's all stuff that's gonna
- 45:51Speaker 1: happen regardless. Yeah, and Trey, going back to your earlier point,
- 45:55Speaker 1: I agree, which is the guy asked you out in
- 45:59Speaker 1: whatever or state you were in, So just do that
- 46:05Speaker 1: because most of the times, actually all the time, I
- 46:09Speaker 1: don't think any of us, as a straight men, would
- 46:11Speaker 1: ever prefer a woman to get all dolled up for
- 46:16Speaker 1: a date to the point that we don't even recognize her.
- 46:19Speaker 1: I would actually prefer you show up, you know, not
- 46:22Speaker 1: in a baseball hat and looking like you just don't
- 46:24Speaker 1: give a damn but it. You know, take a shower,
- 46:27Speaker 1: but you don't need to, you know, get hair and
- 46:29Speaker 1: makeup and stuff done, and look like a like a
- 46:32Speaker 1: different person. Just show up looking like you, Like you said, Tray,
- 46:35Speaker 1: show up looking like you did when I asked you out.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Now, now I'll say this, if it's like online dating
- 46:41Speaker 3: and your pictures are filtered and everything else, then that's
- 46:44Speaker 3: on you. And I'll also say this, I have seen
- 46:48Speaker 3: the second part of this girl's video where she does
- 46:51Speaker 3: go out on a date looking like she normally would.
- 46:55Speaker 1: And what is that like? Is it the girl from
- 46:59Speaker 1: the Ring?
- 47:00Speaker 2: Yeah? And and and dirty Sweats.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Put her back in.
- 47:10Speaker 4: Yes, you're listening to the Treehouse. Visit us online at
- 47:18Speaker 4: Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 47:39Speaker 5: You're in the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse on
- 47:43Speaker 5: Air dot com.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Jerry, you've got your light flashing down much better
- 48:04Speaker 1: than I do. I can't reach my light switch where
- 48:08Speaker 1: I'm where I am. Friday tradition inside the Treehouse. God,
- 48:26Speaker 1: I love Fridays inside the Treehouse. All right, we have
- 48:29Speaker 1: one final thing to throw at you before we eject
- 48:34Speaker 1: for the week inside the Treehouse, and that is I
- 48:39Speaker 1: mentioned this earlier. What snack food favorite is in its
- 48:43Speaker 1: freaky Friday phase. Yeah, it's goldfish Crackers. Goldfish Crackers are
- 48:51Speaker 1: being rebranded as Chilean Sea Bath. Now, this isn't going
- 48:56Speaker 1: to be forever. This is just more of a temporary
- 48:58Speaker 1: thing for marketing purpose, isn't. It's actually not a bad idea.
- 49:02Speaker 1: It's a little stupid, which is part of the reason
- 49:04Speaker 1: why we want to play with it. But Pepperidge Farm,
- 49:07Speaker 1: which makes goldfish crackers. Wants young adults to know goldfish
- 49:11Speaker 1: crackers are something grown ups also eat, So it's their
- 49:15Speaker 1: latest marketing stunt. And by the way, I'm going to
- 49:20Speaker 1: give you a brief history of the goldfish from Pepperdge Farm,
- 49:23Speaker 1: which is this. They were never intended for kids. They
- 49:27Speaker 1: were always meant for adults. You want to guess as
- 49:29Speaker 1: to why Trey or Jerry.
- 49:33Speaker 2: Salt, Yeah, salty and make you drink more. Oh.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Yes, they were originally introduced for adults as bar snacks
- 49:43Speaker 1: to go along with pretzels and peanuts, because, like Trey said,
- 49:47Speaker 1: if you spend enough time in a bar, you know
- 49:50Speaker 1: that you put some salty food in front of people
- 49:53Speaker 1: and they eat it, they're going to be thirsty and
- 49:54Speaker 1: drink more. However, once science made advancements in microbiology, they
- 50:00Speaker 1: learned how disgusting that was, all of us putting our
- 50:02Speaker 1: dirty hands into the same bowl and eating salty snacks
- 50:04Speaker 1: at a bar. They said, you know, let's just stop
- 50:06Speaker 1: doing that all together. We'll make you buy something. So
- 50:09Speaker 1: that is actually how goldfish got their start was as
- 50:14Speaker 1: beer snacks, but they eventually became mainly known for children.
- 50:17Speaker 1: So Pepperidge Farm wants those young kids to know that
- 50:20Speaker 1: goldfish crackers are also eaten by grown ups. Now, they
- 50:23Speaker 1: announced they're temporarily rebranding Goldfish and changing the name to
- 50:28Speaker 1: Chilean sea bass, and the ads that they're going with
- 50:32Speaker 1: even say new adult sounding name, same goldfish taste. Now
- 50:38Speaker 1: you cannot expect to see the new name in stores.
- 50:40Speaker 1: This is an online only thing with limited edition bags.
- 50:44Speaker 1: They're selling a set amount each day for the next
- 50:47Speaker 1: week at Chilean Sea basscrackers dot com. All I can
- 50:53Speaker 1: picture is like a box with one giant ass fish
- 50:57Speaker 1: cracker in it. Because Chilean sea bass are not small,
- 51:00Speaker 1: no they are. They are large fish. They're not pretty
- 51:03Speaker 1: fish either, because their actual name is Patagonian toothfish. But
- 51:06Speaker 1: they are delicious and that's why they got a name change.
- 51:09Speaker 1: So it's kind of fun to think that Goldfish had
- 51:12Speaker 1: a bit of a glow up in Pepperigh Farm is
- 51:14Speaker 1: calling them Chilean sea bass for a little while, just
- 51:16Speaker 1: to show younger people that you can be cool and
- 51:19Speaker 1: older and enjoy goldfish crackers. Why not just call them koi?
- 51:27Speaker 1: You don't really eat koi. Then again, you don't really
- 51:30Speaker 1: goldfish either, Yeah youah koi? Or just really big goldfish.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Exactly, they're grown up goldfish.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Well, see Chilean sea bass sounds fancy. It is a
- 51:42Speaker 1: bit of a glow up, whereas in you know, in
- 51:45Speaker 1: my history, when most things grow up and are called koi,
- 51:49Speaker 1: they seem to you know, be disappointing. So I don't
- 51:53Speaker 1: think goldfish are necessarily needing Actually I'm sorry. Goldfish are
- 51:57Speaker 1: needing to be you know, take into the next level
- 52:01Speaker 1: to make them seem cool and fancy and glamorous. I
- 52:06Speaker 1: guess that's the reason why they don't do coy and
- 52:09Speaker 1: you know pondfish, which is really kind of what they're
- 52:11Speaker 1: known as ors fountain fish. So yeah, Pepperdge Farm changing
- 52:14Speaker 1: the name from a goldfish to Chilean sea bass to
- 52:17Speaker 1: seem more enjoyable or approachable in order to market to
- 52:22Speaker 1: the younger generations. And it started a new trend in
- 52:26Speaker 1: the food industry because Pepperich Farm is not the only
- 52:30Speaker 1: company taking a favorite snack food and giving it a
- 52:34Speaker 1: bit of a glow up like they're doing with goldfish
- 52:38Speaker 1: crackers and renaming them Chilean sea bass smacks. Remember the smacks.
- 52:43Speaker 1: The cereal part of their grown up campaign is smacks.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Part of a domestic Abuture's Complete Breakfast Twinkies is also
- 52:54Speaker 1: getting a glow up. Tan, hairless and full of cream.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Ritz Crackers are now being marketed to more adults as
- 53:05Speaker 1: fancy Caucasians. It's more of a thinker. Gushers are now
- 53:12Speaker 1: squirters for obvious reasons. Sour Patch kids are adopted orphans.
- 53:22Speaker 1: That's more of a PC glow up there. I can
- 53:25Speaker 1: get away with that joke as I'm adopted. Also, Dorito's
- 53:30Speaker 1: Cool Ranch also has a new name to appeal to
- 53:34Speaker 1: different generations. They're changing the name to Dorito's Yellowstone because
- 53:38Speaker 1: that's the coolest ranch there is, and related Spicy Dorito's
- 53:44Speaker 1: will now be called Beth Dutton. And there is one
- 53:49Speaker 1: other snack food favorite that is getting a glow up
- 53:52Speaker 1: from marketing teams, and that is Oreos. Oreos giving white
- 53:58Speaker 1: girls bad ideas since nineteen twelve. Be sure to check
- 54:11Speaker 1: out all things Treehouse at Treehouse on Air dot com,
