Tragedy struck Columbus County as 30-year-old Sheriff’s Deputy Damien Draper Bost was killed in the line of duty when struck by a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 74. A heartfelt community procession, led by officers from North Carolina and South Carolina and local volunteers, honored his memory as he was escorted home. Loved ones recall him as a devoted husband, father, and dedicated officer.
