- 0:06Speaker 1: Hi, baby Booze, Welcome back to Vanity. Farah. My name
- 0:09Speaker 1: is Chris Farah and I am.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Still on the road. However, I am bringing you ninety
- 0:14Speaker 2: Day Fiance. This is season twelve, episode fourteen on Borrowed Time,
- 0:18Speaker 2: which is exactly what's happening for me right now.
- 0:21Speaker 1: This will be a one.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Part episode as I am going to breeze through a
- 0:26Speaker 2: lot get this done. And just because I am in
- 0:29Speaker 2: New York and I have a very packed schedule, however,
- 0:33Speaker 2: I have had a lot of fun. If you guys know,
- 0:36Speaker 2: I went to New Orleans last week, I will tell
- 0:38Speaker 2: you right now that just so happens. When I was
- 0:40Speaker 2: in New Orleans, I thought maybe I would see Medo
- 0:43Speaker 2: and Debbie. Now, however, the ninety Day Universe does give,
- 0:47Speaker 2: and what they gave was at the same time I
- 0:50Speaker 2: was there, they're filming the Florida Couple spin off all
- 0:54Speaker 2: the people that live in Florida, like they're having their
- 0:57Speaker 2: own show.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Now as you know. So it's like Elise is there.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I think it's like Lauren.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I think it's like, you know, y'are like all the
- 1:05Speaker 2: Florida peeps. So, having said that, while I was there,
- 1:09Speaker 2: I went vintage shopping and I'm in like a vintage
- 1:13Speaker 2: boutique off of Royale and I fully see Andrea and Lauren.
- 1:18Speaker 2: They walk right by me, and Lauren was like in
- 1:20Speaker 2: a heaven kind of situation because there's a bunch of
- 1:22Speaker 2: like Chanel and Lanvon there, so she's like looking at
- 1:25Speaker 2: all of that, and she looks up at me like
- 1:27Speaker 2: smiling because she's looking at the jewelry, and I'm like,
- 1:29Speaker 2: oh my god, that's hilarious.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And when he looked at me, there's a moment where
- 1:34Speaker 1: I'm like, do people know who I am?
- 1:40Speaker 2: I don't talk about Laurena and Andre a lot on
- 1:42Speaker 2: this on this podcast. There are people are people, and
- 1:48Speaker 2: no one's completely evil and no one's completely great, but
- 1:51Speaker 2: they're just not for me for a variety of reasons.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Sometimes I wonder, though, if all of the ninety day universe,
- 1:58Speaker 2: people that want to be in the world, like know
- 2:01Speaker 2: the podcasters, like, do.
- 2:03Speaker 1: They know my face?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Because there was a moment where I'm like, I think
- 2:07Speaker 2: he knows who I am. However, maybe he doesn't. Maybe
- 2:09Speaker 2: he was just like this girl's shopping. However, having said that,
- 2:14Speaker 2: I did have that moment, so I didn't say hi,
- 2:16Speaker 2: to them because I didn't want to, you know.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Just it didn't.
- 2:21Speaker 2: It's not for me, like I have to be in
- 2:23Speaker 2: a certain situation to a want to talk to someone
- 2:25Speaker 2: who doesn't I don't know very well, like my own socialness,
- 2:28Speaker 2: and also be I want to be able to I
- 2:29Speaker 2: want to talk to you, and that wasn't what was
- 2:31Speaker 2: happening there. However, I'm in now in New York, and
- 2:35Speaker 2: maybe I'll see someone here too, wouldn't it be great? Maybe,
- 2:38Speaker 2: like every time I go somewhere I see like a
- 2:39Speaker 2: Nine Day cast member, I will talk to someone if.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I see them in New York, I've decided. But New
- 2:44Speaker 1: Orleans was fun. New York is great.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I saw my friend Brian's softie show. If you are
- 2:49Speaker 2: a podcast listener, if you ever listen to a podcast
- 2:52Speaker 2: called Growing Shade and now it's called Attitudes. Brian hosts
- 2:56Speaker 2: that with my friend Aaron Well, Aaron Gibson, and they're great.
- 3:01Speaker 2: They're very funny. They have that podcast. Ye also I
- 3:04Speaker 2: think co hosts Ask Corona. So in the podcast space
- 3:06Speaker 2: you might know Brian. He has a show off Broadway.
- 3:09Speaker 2: If you're listening to this, there's one week more. Definitely
- 3:11Speaker 2: go see it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: It's great.
- 3:14Speaker 2: So all right, here we are, honeys, let's talk about
- 3:17Speaker 2: on borrow time.
- 3:20Speaker 1: We aren't we all are? I mean, who's not?
- 3:24Speaker 2: Just because I wish that time wasn't borrowed, but it's
- 3:26Speaker 2: like we definitely don't have control over it. Okay, Marissa
- 3:31Speaker 2: and Edward, So I am happy about the scene. She
- 3:34Speaker 2: is taking him to a bar class. She loves that bar, honey,
- 3:37Speaker 2: and he is in fact always sort of having to
- 3:41Speaker 2: infiltrate her like highly fem spaces like going to Kleinfeld's,
- 3:48Speaker 2: going to this bar class, like going you know, power
- 3:50Speaker 2: walking around in the neighborhood. She's always sort of like
- 3:53Speaker 2: making him, you know, forcefully enter her world. And I
- 3:58Speaker 2: would love to see her do something for him, like
- 4:05Speaker 2: enter his world or space or have to like allow
- 4:09Speaker 2: him to lead in an experience that he knows and
- 4:13Speaker 2: she's a visitor of, if that makes sense, Because I
- 4:16Speaker 2: think that there's something so interesting about seeing both people
- 4:20Speaker 2: of different cultures experience the otherness that they feel in
- 4:24Speaker 2: a space that the that their beloved beholds, if that
- 4:27Speaker 2: makes sense. So instance, right, she's teaching this bar class,
- 4:30Speaker 2: so obviously Edward's a fish out of water, right, and
- 4:32Speaker 2: so he's there and she's like, we get to see
- 4:35Speaker 2: a lot of what she's already done, controlling training, telling
- 4:38Speaker 2: him what to do, telling what to do. Don't use
- 4:40Speaker 2: these weights, don't use those weights. Oh you want to
- 4:42Speaker 2: use those weights. Those are stupid. You're making a stupid decision.
- 4:45Speaker 1: You don't know. Listen to me. Which here and now
- 4:49Speaker 1: we can say if you've ever taken a plates or
- 4:51Speaker 1: bar class, that she's right. Of course, you know, there
- 4:53Speaker 1: is longer reps and it is very hard. You know.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I love I miss bar classes. I love polates. Matt
- 5:00Speaker 2: really loved that kind of thing. It's funny because bar
- 5:02Speaker 2: classes were such a hot commodity with all of the
- 5:05Speaker 2: like cardio barn, the bar method and everything, and then
- 5:09Speaker 2: it's felt like it stopped. But we're sort of at
- 5:11Speaker 2: the tail end of the boutique fitness craze. I mean,
- 5:15Speaker 2: it feels like there's still a lot of people doing
- 5:17Speaker 2: heated classes. Like now that's the thing, like a heated class,
- 5:20Speaker 2: heated pilates, heated bar honey, heated yoga. But I mean,
- 5:25Speaker 2: as someone who like soul cycled her way into like
- 5:27Speaker 2: the mid auts, it is a different space.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So she thinks that everything is going well for them.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Obviously they had a hard week last week and now
- 5:37Speaker 2: everything is going swimming late. That is like, what kind
- 5:40Speaker 2: of what's happening for a lot of couples. A lot
- 5:42Speaker 2: of the drama that we've been seeing suddenly, like the
- 5:44Speaker 2: past two weeks have been just great.
- 5:46Speaker 1: So they've been living their lives. Honey. She's like, we
- 5:48Speaker 1: even got a dog. I'm thinking that.
- 5:50Speaker 2: The dog will help improve the relationship. I'm like, oh
- 5:53Speaker 2: my god, that never works. What is that a baby?
- 5:55Speaker 1: Honey? Is that a band aid baby? Is that what
- 5:57Speaker 1: that dog is? A band aid baby?
- 6:01Speaker 2: When people say stuff like that and you hear it,
- 6:04Speaker 2: aren't you just like, did you hear that too? You
- 6:07Speaker 2: think that this you think this animal is gonna improve
- 6:10Speaker 2: your relationship because like, what your relationship needs is this animal,
- 6:15Speaker 2: and the magic in love with this animal is not
- 6:16Speaker 2: gonna rub off and I'm sorry, it's not gonna run
- 6:19Speaker 2: out and you're just going to be stuck with the.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Person you don't already like.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So you know, he gets a long hug from her,
- 6:24Speaker 2: so he's excited. He does his class. She's been teaching
- 6:28Speaker 2: for like twelve years.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Honey.
- 6:29Speaker 2: There's just a lot of white ladies, a lot of
- 6:31Speaker 2: like middle aged ladies, you know.
- 6:32Speaker 1: What I'm saying. And he's just you know, at home.
- 6:38Speaker 1: So let's move on to Katie and Josh.
- 6:40Speaker 2: So, I mean, I'm gonna say about that bar class
- 6:43Speaker 2: he you know, it's hard for him.
- 6:44Speaker 1: She's like, you're I told you'd be hard.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Dustly ends, okay, So because it's kind of like what else,
- 6:51Speaker 2: Like what's interesting that happens other than that? Is like
- 6:53Speaker 2: he was like I was gonna leave, and then they
- 6:55Speaker 2: have like a horrible date and then she gets mad
- 6:56Speaker 2: at the date.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Like that's why.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It's like, oh, she's just like I'll be annoying on
- 7:01Speaker 2: this date, like, don't bring up bad things, and he
- 7:03Speaker 2: just wants to talk about his feelings and she's like,
- 7:05Speaker 2: I told you have to do something. And then then
- 7:07Speaker 2: she gets patty because he didn't believe he didn't do
- 7:09Speaker 2: what she wanted.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm like all over the place. It's just that
- 7:14Speaker 1: she can't just enjoy her life.
- 7:15Speaker 2: She can't just like I would love an episode where
- 7:19Speaker 2: they like knowingly get her super stoned, like I need
- 7:22Speaker 2: to see this person fucking let go, Like what is
- 7:24Speaker 2: this person like when she isn't hyper controlling or isn't
- 7:28Speaker 2: trying to like make everyone do what she wants them
- 7:31Speaker 2: to do at all times. Can we get this person
- 7:33Speaker 2: like a Xanax bar for an episode and see what
- 7:35Speaker 2: it's like talk about xanx. Oh my god, guys, sorry,
- 7:38Speaker 2: this is ADHD ready for this in the ninety day world,
- 7:42Speaker 2: I was gonna bring this up. Well, okay, I'm gonna
- 7:44Speaker 2: bring Okay, I know what I'll do. I'll bring this
- 7:46Speaker 2: up in transition. So there are two guys in the
- 7:48Speaker 2: ninety day universe that are going on TikTok lives and
- 7:52Speaker 2: they are ruining whatever faith we had in them. What
- 7:59Speaker 2: am I talking talking about? I'll tell you so. Rashid,
- 8:04Speaker 2: who we have grown to love, who we think is hilarious, great, fun, interesting, sweet, nice,
- 8:13Speaker 2: cannot get off. TikTok cannot do it. Is on honey
- 8:18Speaker 2: TikTok all day long. And he is like vulgar ref
- 8:23Speaker 2: He loves like mimicking moral sex or talking about pussy,
- 8:27Speaker 2: which God bless, I mean, so do I. But come on,
- 8:29Speaker 2: you know I'm saying like a lot. He's always like listening.
- 8:32Speaker 2: He's just he's not the person that we thought he was.
- 8:35Speaker 2: On the show, and he's been slipping in to people's dms.
- 8:41Speaker 2: What kind of people, female people? What is he doing
- 8:44Speaker 2: asking for pictures? So that's one thing where it's like
- 8:49Speaker 2: and the reason why I actually had brought this up,
- 8:50Speaker 2: and I should have brought up this moment first and
- 8:52Speaker 2: then moved on to Rashid. But you know, God Bless
- 8:54Speaker 2: is that Andrea of Libyan Andrea has also been on
- 9:00Speaker 2: TikTok Live basically begging for money. And what he looks
- 9:05Speaker 2: like is someone who has definitely done all the.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Xanax bars in Florida. Like he looks.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Definitely zoned out, zonkeed out. You know what I'm saying,
- 9:19Speaker 2: I'm like, give Marissa some of that. So that's what
- 9:20Speaker 2: I was gonna transition is that he needs to take Xanax.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I'm sorry, she needs to take Xanax.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Andre has some Andre has been like weird on TikTok
- 9:29Speaker 2: and they are obviously grifter losers who just want to
- 9:35Speaker 2: ask for money, and you are just relying on for.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Some reason enough.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Online fans to give them like three dollars to like
- 9:45Speaker 2: a mass enough money for the month, which is God Bless.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I'm trying to guess I guess. I guess I'm trying
- 9:49Speaker 2: to do the same thing, ha ha ha, but in
- 9:51Speaker 2: a different way. So and then of course Rash being
- 9:55Speaker 2: gross online. So those are the two dudes ruining our lives. However,
- 10:02Speaker 2: let's move on to you know, to our peeps. Did
- 10:05Speaker 2: Mal write rash sheet? We are they on this episode?
- 10:07Speaker 2: Oh no, they weren't. That's why I'm not going to
- 10:08Speaker 2: transition to them. They're not on this episode. Okay, sorry,
- 10:12Speaker 2: my loves. However, you know who is Katie and Josh.
- 10:14Speaker 2: So we start with the GoPro of them bicycle riding.
- 10:16Speaker 1: She looks cute.
- 10:17Speaker 2: She's wearing like a black leather jacket and like a
- 10:20Speaker 2: straight laid, straight leg jean, which you.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Know is in and I wish I could also run.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I just feel like it's so hard for me to go.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Jean shopping, Like, is there anything worse than having to
- 10:31Speaker 2: get jeans or a bathing suit?
- 10:33Speaker 1: For some reason?
- 10:33Speaker 2: Why is like that so much harder than a dress
- 10:35Speaker 2: for me or shoes or like it's just knowing I
- 10:39Speaker 2: have to either buy a bathing suit or jeans means
- 10:41Speaker 2: that I'm gonna have to like take one or two
- 10:43Speaker 2: days and I have to like prep in such a
- 10:44Speaker 2: way where I'm wearing certain things and I you know,
- 10:47Speaker 2: have you know, like for some reason an in shopping
- 10:51Speaker 2: experience in store which almost never happens in twenty twenty six,
- 10:55Speaker 2: to really get something done with a lot of patience
- 10:57Speaker 2: and a lot of compassion for myself, and really do
- 11:00Speaker 2: I have that?
- 11:01Speaker 1: I need jeans?
- 11:01Speaker 2: However, you know Katie, I want to give her a
- 11:03Speaker 2: grace when she has it.
- 11:04Speaker 1: She looks cute. They set up a picnic, so this
- 11:07Speaker 1: is adorable, a Portland picnic.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And you know, we know what she wants to do.
- 11:11Speaker 2: She wants to come in hot with her want of
- 11:15Speaker 2: the day, and that is to be in an open relationship.
- 11:19Speaker 2: And she's proud of herself and she feels like she
- 11:21Speaker 2: can ask for this because she has had one night,
- 11:24Speaker 2: one good moment.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Where she has.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Done what she should always be doing, which is respecting
- 11:34Speaker 2: his boundaries.
- 11:35Speaker 1: So she's like, guess what for my bachelorette party that
- 11:38Speaker 1: which was a funeral.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I didn't make out with anyone. I didn't even ask to.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I didn't get black out drunk, so anyway I would.
- 11:54Speaker 2: And he actually did get drunk, and he got drunk
- 11:56Speaker 2: because he was watching the news and then sort of
- 11:58Speaker 2: like internalizing.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I'm sure time when this was happening.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I think I'm assuming it's the height of ice and
- 12:03Speaker 2: all that stuff, which is still happening, But you know
- 12:05Speaker 2: what I'm saying, when there was, I don't know. It
- 12:06Speaker 2: seems like maybe this was at that time where he
- 12:09Speaker 2: started to internalize a lot of like anxiety and fear,
- 12:14Speaker 2: which I understand as an immigrant and not knowing if
- 12:17Speaker 2: he's welcome or wanted here in America. And she listens
- 12:20Speaker 2: to this with what feels like the empathy of a shoehorn.
- 12:28Speaker 2: None of this is what she wants to hear because
- 12:30Speaker 2: she wants him to be in a great mood.
- 12:32Speaker 1: She wants him to.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Congratulate her on her excellent behavior so she can come
- 12:36Speaker 2: and strong with what she wants to do. But instead
- 12:39Speaker 2: she sets up this picnic and he's like, wah, wah,
- 12:42Speaker 2: America hates me. And so she knows it's going to
- 12:45Speaker 2: be like, uh oh, well, unrelated. I don't want to
- 12:51Speaker 2: be like always fucking.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Just you, you know.
- 12:57Speaker 2: So she really has a lot of awkward, like fun
- 12:59Speaker 2: face moments where she listens to him and she's like,
- 13:02Speaker 2: I'm sorry you feel that way.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Because she doesn't want to have to. It doesn't.
- 13:10Speaker 2: She is a selfish person. She's she's in her mind
- 13:12Speaker 2: in such a way that she's focused on herself. It's
- 13:15Speaker 2: very difficult for her to feel empathy or put herself
- 13:17Speaker 2: in another person's shoes. So for her to really sit
- 13:22Speaker 2: in Josh's like pain is not something that I feel
- 13:25Speaker 2: like she's probably ever done. It feels like she just
- 13:29Speaker 2: acknowledges it, sees it from her like vantage point, and
- 13:31Speaker 2: then like makes whatever kind of awkward you know, methodical comment.
- 13:40Speaker 2: She can say that like bridges her understanding of her
- 13:44Speaker 2: experience with whatever he said, and then move on so
- 13:48Speaker 2: that she doesn't have to like enjoy the awkwardness much longer,
- 13:51Speaker 2: if that makes sense.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You know.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And again she's on cloud nine, just like you know,
- 13:54Speaker 2: fun night, She's like, I had such a blast writing
- 13:57Speaker 2: around a limma with my girls, and he's like, yeah,
- 14:02Speaker 2: you know, I literally thought that you were gonna call
- 14:03Speaker 2: me and say, HOPI fell on someone's face.
- 14:07Speaker 1: He does like an impression of.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Her, which is always like my favorite thing to hear
- 14:10Speaker 2: someone who has an accent, specifically do an impression of
- 14:13Speaker 2: someone else. Always so great, right anytime, you know, I
- 14:16Speaker 2: love accents, but if I find someone with an accent
- 14:19Speaker 2: that I feel like I have some sort of camaraderie with,
- 14:21Speaker 2: at some point I'll be like, can you do me?
- 14:25Speaker 2: Like I can do you or not, but like, you know,
- 14:27Speaker 2: specifically with a British person or whatever. I'll just be like,
- 14:29Speaker 2: this is what you sound like, and I'll do whatever
- 14:31Speaker 2: best I can be like, now you do me. It's
- 14:34Speaker 2: so fun. It's so fun to hear someone with an
- 14:36Speaker 2: accent do a version of whatever you who you are
- 14:40Speaker 2: in this case, and I'm American, right, so I was like,
- 14:43Speaker 2: oh okay, and it was almost like a brief moment
- 14:46Speaker 2: of humor from him.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Made me happy.
- 14:51Speaker 2: He feels like trust has been rebuilt because of her
- 14:54Speaker 2: one night, and I think that's why. She's like, great,
- 14:58Speaker 2: that sounds great, she says. When he talks about his
- 15:07Speaker 2: like sort of feelings about what's happening in America, she says,
- 15:12Speaker 2: what can I do to make you feel more welcome?
- 15:15Speaker 2: And then he says, thank you so much, thank you
- 15:18Speaker 2: for asking, And I love that I can be vulnerable
- 15:22Speaker 2: around you.
- 15:23Speaker 1: She says, oh, yeah, that's great. Do you know what
- 15:26Speaker 1: the thing is? Though? I wish I could be vulnerable
- 15:30Speaker 1: around you.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I love that you feel like the way around me,
- 15:33Speaker 2: and I love that I've made that.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Space really comfortable and open for you.
- 15:36Speaker 2: But I'll tell you what, I don't feel that from
- 15:38Speaker 2: you because I want to be able to tell you
- 15:40Speaker 2: something and I don't want you.
- 15:41Speaker 1: To get upset. He's like, oh no, he's literally in
- 15:46Speaker 1: a land minefield.
- 15:47Speaker 2: He realizes that he thought he was sitting down for
- 15:49Speaker 2: a picnic, but he stepped upon a motherfucking landmine. He's like, Ah,
- 15:53Speaker 2: what the fuck is or something you want to say
- 15:58Speaker 2: to me that you feel awkward or uncomfortable about that?
- 16:02Speaker 2: Somehow it's my fault about is that what you're saying?
- 16:06Speaker 1: I'm sorry? So I picking up?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Is that what you're saying you need to express something
- 16:09Speaker 2: that you don't want to talk about. That is somehow
- 16:13Speaker 2: my fault for making you feel bad about what is?
- 16:15Speaker 1: It? Can't wait? So she like lays it out.
- 16:20Speaker 2: She's like, you know how we're getting married and you
- 16:22Speaker 2: know how that thing where it's like, oh my god,
- 16:25Speaker 2: because I can't imagine limiting my experiences in life.
- 16:31Speaker 1: He's like what. She's like, you know, it's just like
- 16:33Speaker 1: I want to get married to you. Love you so much.
- 16:35Speaker 2: It's just that in the future, I can't imagine always
- 16:38Speaker 2: saying no to like every pair of lips that crosses
- 16:40Speaker 2: my way.
- 16:41Speaker 1: For the rest of my life. You know what I'm saying.
- 16:45Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, I mean, I know what you're saying.
- 16:46Speaker 2: That's like we're getting married. It's like, here's the thing.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I want to get married because I want to settle
- 16:49Speaker 2: down and have them kids, have a family, have a home,
- 16:52Speaker 2: do the things that, like, you know, what will make
- 16:54Speaker 2: me feel quote unquote normal or part of the world,
- 16:57Speaker 2: or feel like I did it. I feel a little
- 16:59Speaker 2: less than humankind. Sometimes my name is Josh, and so
- 17:03Speaker 2: I allow things that I feel like, you know, other
- 17:06Speaker 2: people wouldn't. But it's because I'm trying to get to
- 17:08Speaker 2: the end. And the end is like some sort of
- 17:10Speaker 2: life where I have a wife and a house and
- 17:12Speaker 2: a child, and so I've done it, Like that's what
- 17:14Speaker 2: makes me feel like a winner.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I'm Josh. And she's like, you know what makes me
- 17:18Speaker 1: feel like a winner.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I'm Katie, like making out with whoever I want to
- 17:24Speaker 2: make out life And he's like, those feel incongruent. But
- 17:32Speaker 2: he met her doing the thing that she wanted to do,
- 17:36Speaker 2: and I don't remember hearing from her lips ever, anything
- 17:39Speaker 2: about can't like wanting to settle, why to have a home,
- 17:43Speaker 2: why to have kids. It's like, yeah, he just he
- 17:48Speaker 2: put on her all the things that he wants. I
- 17:50Speaker 2: don't feel like she wants it, and I feel like
- 17:52Speaker 2: he knows she doesn't want it, which makes me feel
- 17:54Speaker 2: weird about that he is.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Not picking up those cues.
- 18:01Speaker 2: It's funny because every time he's in a confessional, Josh
- 18:04Speaker 2: will like be very direct. He'll be like, Katie starts
- 18:08Speaker 2: telling me that she wants to be in an open
- 18:10Speaker 2: relationship and that's never what it's been like, and I'll
- 18:13Speaker 2: never be in an open relationship. That's crazy. And then
- 18:17Speaker 2: we get a shot of Josh, like at the picnic
- 18:19Speaker 2: with her being like, so, what you're saying is you
- 18:22Speaker 2: don't know if you want to commit monogamously. I thought
- 18:28Speaker 2: this was monogamous and she's like, well, I don't know,
- 18:30Speaker 2: you know, it's Katie blinking like that. It's like he
- 18:34Speaker 2: he can have the propensity to be direct. I don't
- 18:37Speaker 2: know if it's just the twenty twenty hindsight after he
- 18:40Speaker 2: processes what happens in the moment and he realizes that
- 18:43Speaker 2: his point of view is valid to him enough that
- 18:45Speaker 2: he feels like he can put ten toes down, but
- 18:48Speaker 2: in the moment.
- 18:48Speaker 1: He doesn't know if he's right.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Like, it's such an interesting change from the Josh And again,
- 18:53Speaker 2: it's not that he's like super demanding in the confessionals,
- 18:56Speaker 2: but there's a marketed change in how direct and assertive
- 18:59Speaker 2: he is for him boundaries in the confessional afterward than
- 19:02Speaker 2: when we ever see him talk to Katie. Right, I
- 19:08Speaker 2: just wonder to give you guys pick up on that too. Okay,
- 19:11Speaker 2: Meto and Debbie, I am so said. I didn't run
- 19:13Speaker 2: into Meto and Debbie Honey and New Orleans. And at
- 19:15Speaker 2: the same time, I do feel like I walked by
- 19:17Speaker 2: this cooking class school. So that's what's happening. Their fun
- 19:20Speaker 2: thing is now we're supposed to believe, Honey that they're
- 19:22Speaker 2: also doing great. Don't worry, they're great.
- 19:26Speaker 1: They're going to this cooking class.
- 19:28Speaker 2: And she's like, we're gonna make Marcone and I have
- 19:32Speaker 2: For a moment, I'm like, oh my god. She's like
- 19:35Speaker 2: marcroo and pasta spaghetti, and so I was like, oh
- 19:38Speaker 2: my god, they're going to an.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Egyptian cooking class in New Orleans, and.
- 19:42Speaker 2: I was like, oh, how interesting, because that is the
- 19:44Speaker 2: thing that I kind of want sometimes for ninety day
- 19:47Speaker 2: fiancee to do, which is also involved the American in
- 19:50Speaker 2: doing something that's culturally representative of the of the foreigner,
- 19:54Speaker 2: so that we see both sides of the fish out
- 19:56Speaker 2: of water. That's kind of what I was saying with
- 19:58Speaker 2: Edward and Marissa, right, like, we have an experience Marissa
- 20:00Speaker 2: in an Edward space, and obviously you know you have
- 20:03Speaker 2: to find one and whatever means that is now. For
- 20:06Speaker 2: a moment, I was like, oh, yeah, they.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Found an Egyptian space where they're going to make Egyptian food.
- 20:10Speaker 1: But that's not the case.
- 20:11Speaker 2: So once I realize that, I'm like, oh, she just
- 20:13Speaker 2: said that there is an Egyptian dish called Marconi bechamel
- 20:16Speaker 2: or something like that.
- 20:18Speaker 1: It's literally pasta.
- 20:20Speaker 2: It's elbow macaroni and like lentils and like a tomato sauce.
- 20:25Speaker 1: It's interesting.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Sometimes Arabs do like a version of Arab kind of
- 20:30Speaker 2: Mediterranean kind of pasta e or like pizza e food.
- 20:32Speaker 2: It's always the pizzas are different, but lapasta is always
- 20:35Speaker 2: kind of interesting. I'm not a big fan of like
- 20:38Speaker 2: levinine or Arab pasta dishes.
- 20:40Speaker 1: That's just me anyway. So he is doing him. You know,
- 20:46Speaker 1: one thing that Meto loves to do is like his
- 20:49Speaker 1: very like hard fast, dismissive Arab hand gestures.
- 20:53Speaker 2: It usually is like a hand that is palm out
- 20:57Speaker 2: straight and then it has this beat where the hits
- 21:00Speaker 2: a bottom and then comes back up like a little
- 21:04Speaker 2: trampoline jump. If that makes sense. I'm doing it right now.
- 21:07Speaker 2: If you're watching on YouTube, and he does it a lot,
- 21:09Speaker 2: he tries to make his point almost it's like a
- 21:11Speaker 2: hand gabble and it feels yeat, like I've said what
- 21:16Speaker 2: I said, this is what it is.
- 21:17Speaker 1: It feels dismissive in his weight. It's not just Mito.
- 21:21Speaker 2: It feels like this very specific hand gesture that a
- 21:25Speaker 2: lot of Arabs do.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Uh yeah, hullous. I would call it the Hullis hand gesture.
- 21:32Speaker 2: But you know you do you So he's doing that
- 21:35Speaker 2: talking about you know, her being you know, whatever cook
- 21:37Speaker 2: she is and him doing whatever he is.
- 21:40Speaker 1: She wants him to cook more because she comes home
- 21:42Speaker 1: at five thirty.
- 21:43Speaker 2: So she's breaking into this class being like we'll both
- 21:45Speaker 2: learn how to cook, but also you pull your weight.
- 21:47Speaker 2: I work till five thirty. He's like, okay, so they
- 21:51Speaker 2: have to like get in there and first things. First
- 21:54Speaker 2: is like butcher the shit out of some shrimp and
- 21:56Speaker 2: it grosses her out. It grosses me out, but I
- 21:59Speaker 2: know that kind of stuff. It is always interesting. We
- 22:04Speaker 2: don't watch hands work with meat, any kind of meat.
- 22:08Speaker 2: It's not fun for me to like really butcher or
- 22:11Speaker 2: get into animal protein of any kind.
- 22:15Speaker 1: It's underneath those nails, honey.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I mean, nothing's worse than like food just underneath nails,
- 22:24Speaker 2: embedded in nail bed because your hand has just been in.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Carnage. So she's like, you know, I make things. He's like,
- 22:35Speaker 1: what do you make? She's like, I make my specialties
- 22:38Speaker 1: tuna with eggs. I'm sorry, what what do you mean?
- 22:46Speaker 1: All right? This is where I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I obviously I don't like fish, so I don't know
- 22:51Speaker 2: what's real and what's not real in my life though,
- 22:56Speaker 2: And is this a California thing? I have never heard
- 22:58Speaker 2: of tuna with eggs never. I've heard of blocks on
- 23:03Speaker 2: a bagel.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I has just never heard of tuna in the morning,
- 23:08Speaker 1: never tuna and eggs like, is it a scramble?
- 23:15Speaker 2: Oh my god. When she said that, I was like,
- 23:16Speaker 2: I'm on his side. She's like, he's like, that's not cooking.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I'm like, it's travesty. It's a tragedy. It's a nightmare
- 23:23Speaker 2: if it is.
- 23:26Speaker 1: So, yeah, he just has to listen to her.
- 23:32Speaker 2: And the funniest thing he does the whole season, and
- 23:34Speaker 2: I think this is true, is that she says, you know, like, yes,
- 23:36Speaker 2: it's cooking, and he takes a beat, looks at her
- 23:40Speaker 2: and just very dryly is like, no, it was.
- 23:45Speaker 1: His best work to me all season.
- 23:49Speaker 2: So then the chef that's like, you know, forced to
- 23:51Speaker 2: be here on camera and hopefully getting some appearance fees,
- 23:55Speaker 2: has to sit there while she's like, let me tell
- 23:56Speaker 2: you what o' sor ry, let me get it.
- 23:58Speaker 1: She's like, she's like, let me tell you the fun
- 23:59Speaker 1: thing that he did.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yeah, when he proposed to me, he actually pretended he
- 24:03Speaker 2: was going to leave me and go back to his country.
- 24:06Speaker 1: So funny, it's not funny.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I know, I know.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I loved it. I'll tell you he's such a.
- 24:18Speaker 2: That's who I'm married, you know, Like the chef has
- 24:20Speaker 2: to be like it's wow, what a romantic story. I
- 24:25Speaker 2: really think you're going to like work. She's like, yeah,
- 24:29Speaker 2: you know, he shows love differently than American men.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And I'll be honest in that when I'm.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Dated Arab men, that's true, but not in the way
- 24:41Speaker 2: in which he's showing it.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 24:45Speaker 2: They do sit down to eat. It's been there since
- 24:49Speaker 2: their first date, since they got engaged. He says that
- 24:52Speaker 2: he's happy, and she says, I love you, and he
- 24:55Speaker 2: takes a beat and then says I love you too
- 24:57Speaker 2: and kisses her hand. She's like, that was the first
- 24:58Speaker 2: time he's ever resented. Next day, they're making juice. He's
- 25:03Speaker 2: making juice in a Hamilton Beach.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I don't know if you know. I don't know if
- 25:06Speaker 1: you care about brand names like I do.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I don't mean to do that, but Hamilton Beach is
- 25:11Speaker 2: such an interesting brand because I swear to God, at
- 25:14Speaker 2: least ninety two percent of Hamilton Beach products just don't work.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Some of the Hamilton Beach products that I have are
- 25:21Speaker 2: like weird ones that I've won at like a David Busters.
- 25:24Speaker 2: One time, my friend want one one of those Hamilton
- 25:26Speaker 2: Beach like breakfast sandwich makers. Remember that where like it
- 25:29Speaker 2: didn't actually toast the bread or whatever. It was a
- 25:31Speaker 2: weird thing where I'd just spin around at like, yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 2: a David Busters And I was like, Hamilton Beach, what
- 25:36Speaker 2: so he's making a juice? And I looked at this
- 25:38Speaker 2: juicer and I'm like, that can't possibly be like a
- 25:40Speaker 2: good quality juicer.
- 25:42Speaker 1: And then I see the.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Juice he makes and it's a fucking smoothie, like the
- 25:48Speaker 2: kind of juicers where you push something down with a
- 25:50Speaker 2: black lever, isn't gonna like come out creamy white like
- 25:53Speaker 2: that look like fucking Annabelle was in the corner with
- 25:56Speaker 2: the nutribule.
- 25:57Speaker 1: At being like sh I made him a smoothie I
- 25:59Speaker 1: put in the glass. He doesn't know. I was like
- 26:03Speaker 1: that what you just are you juicing strawberries? Like are
- 26:06Speaker 1: what are you pretending this is? It was so confusing
- 26:09Speaker 1: was this coconut? So anyway, he's like I cooked this
- 26:13Speaker 1: and find out because.
- 26:14Speaker 2: She's like are you ready that tomorrow is the wedding
- 26:17Speaker 2: day and she hasn't picked.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Out her dress or gotten the flowers.
- 26:25Speaker 2: And then suddenly she's also like yeah, and guess what,
- 26:28Speaker 2: it's really only my son Kayden, and you know my daughter.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You've met her, Devin, that's the only people that are
- 26:33Speaker 2: going to be there, And we're like, your friends are
- 26:35Speaker 2: going to be there, and she's like, now the ones
- 26:37Speaker 2: that you've been including this whole season. Also, has Kayden
- 26:40Speaker 2: met Meado? Is Kayden like in New Orleans? Just hasn't
- 26:45Speaker 2: met Medo? You haven't hung out with him once. I
- 26:49Speaker 2: have a situation in my life where, you know, I
- 26:53Speaker 2: have a weird relationship with one of my parents who
- 26:55Speaker 2: got married once. Uh, and I didn't really know the
- 26:57Speaker 2: person that she was marrying ha ha. It's my mom.
- 27:00Speaker 2: And so I have a certain like PTSD for people
- 27:03Speaker 2: that are like, I'm so close to my child, I'm
- 27:07Speaker 2: going to get married to someone that my child does
- 27:09Speaker 2: not know and I certainly don't care about them having
- 27:12Speaker 2: any sort of relationship. So every time I say that,
- 27:16Speaker 2: I'm like, hih clockett and you know what, my mom's
- 27:19Speaker 2: that marriage didn't last anyway, nor did my relationship with
- 27:22Speaker 2: her ha ha ha anyway.
- 27:23Speaker 1: So just saying so.
- 27:25Speaker 2: She meets up with her friends, this is unrealistic. It's
- 27:27Speaker 2: not realistic that she wouldn't find her dress. Yet, it's
- 27:29Speaker 2: not realistic that she is going to suddenly be like,
- 27:31Speaker 2: I care so much about my son Kayden. There's so
- 27:33Speaker 2: much about Kayden that I care about. We haven't even
- 27:35Speaker 2: seen him meet me. Know truly, she doesn't have for flowers.
- 27:39Speaker 2: None of that makes sense. And also this doesn't make sense.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Now she's gonna meet up with her friends and think
- 27:44Speaker 2: about this. She's like, hey, come meet me for lunch
- 27:48Speaker 2: at the flower shop in town.
- 27:51Speaker 1: They're like, that's weird.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Why why wouldn't we go to a restaurant. She's like, no,
- 27:55Speaker 2: I'll meet you there and then I'll tell you why.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I mean, think about what has to happen. So then
- 27:59Speaker 2: her friends come, has had a full hair makeover. Now
- 28:02Speaker 2: it's purple, now it's straight. You're like, where'd you go?
- 28:04Speaker 1: It looks good.
- 28:06Speaker 2: And she's like, hi, guys, clock the ring. He did it,
- 28:10Speaker 2: he proposed and now we're getting married tomorrow.
- 28:12Speaker 1: They're like what. She's like yeah. They're like, does he
- 28:14Speaker 1: treat you right?
- 28:15Speaker 2: She's like mm. And then they're like okay, so why
- 28:19Speaker 2: are we here. She's like, well, I'll tell you why
- 28:20Speaker 2: you're here. You're not invited to the wedding. I don't
- 28:22Speaker 2: want it to.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Deal with your hope law. They're like, what did you
- 28:26Speaker 1: to say?
- 28:27Speaker 2: She's like, I don't want to have to deal with
- 28:30Speaker 2: all the hope law that might come if you guys
- 28:32Speaker 2: come to the wedding. They're like, did you say hope law?
- 28:35Speaker 2: Did you to say hope law? She did, But they
- 28:38Speaker 2: can't really give her so much time with that because
- 28:41Speaker 2: they have to deal with the fact that she, you know,
- 28:42Speaker 2: is gonna marry me too. Now they're instead of being like,
- 28:47Speaker 2: that's fucking crazy, Debbie, You're lost.
- 28:52Speaker 1: We don't want it to deal with you. We have
- 28:53Speaker 1: time and energy that we're going.
- 28:54Speaker 2: To take back for our lives because you don't have
- 28:57Speaker 2: like any semblance of reality and you don't care about yourself,
- 29:00Speaker 2: so why are we going to care about you? Instead
- 29:02Speaker 2: of doing that, they're like, Okay, well, we'll go into
- 29:04Speaker 2: this flower shop and just look at you weird, which
- 29:07Speaker 2: is what happens. They go in the flower shop. This
- 29:11Speaker 2: flower shop is like, oh, you have a wedding tomorrow, Okay,
- 29:14Speaker 2: don't worry, we'll do it all for you, which is
- 29:17Speaker 2: do you know how expensive that would be? Is she
- 29:21Speaker 2: gonna like sell that Louie to put on this last
- 29:23Speaker 2: minute wedding?
- 29:30Speaker 1: I just like it doesn't make sense.
- 29:32Speaker 2: So then she's like, yeah, so even though you guys
- 29:35Speaker 2: aren't coming, it's really important that Cayden, my son's coming.
- 29:37Speaker 1: So he's coming. I'm so happy. I can't get married
- 29:39Speaker 1: without Kyden. I get a text. Guess what.
- 29:41Speaker 2: It's a text from Cayden who's like, hey, Mom, they
- 29:44Speaker 2: want me to work tomorrow.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I don't know if I can come to your wedding.
- 29:48Speaker 2: No, my god, Kayden might have to work. Astra's like,
- 29:52Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. Can he what's the word call out?
- 29:57Speaker 1: Say? No, it's a college job. What is he doing?
- 30:02Speaker 1: Is he a barista? A baristo because he's a guy.
- 30:06Speaker 1: They never say that. How come we always say the
- 30:08Speaker 1: word barista?
- 30:09Speaker 2: And it's because you know, I'm just wondering if you're
- 30:12Speaker 2: supposed to, for a gentleman call him a baristo, or
- 30:17Speaker 2: is every person a barista? Is it not like a
- 30:20Speaker 2: gender thing. I don't mean to put a gender on it.
- 30:22Speaker 2: I'm just saying, you know, like in Italian, is that
- 30:27Speaker 2: what barista is? Coffee maker in Italian? But arista? But
- 30:31Speaker 2: a usta that sounds right, right, especially if I give
- 30:35Speaker 2: it that accent flair that sounds right. But no one
- 30:37Speaker 2: ever says like, I got coffee met from my barristo. Anyway,
- 30:42Speaker 2: please tell me if I'm right, or just tell me
- 30:45Speaker 2: I'm right. So they're like, that sounds crazy that he
- 30:48Speaker 2: wouldn't just be like, uh no, I can't work.
- 30:50Speaker 1: It's my mother's wedding and it is.
- 30:56Speaker 2: And then they're like, it seems like if he didn't
- 30:58Speaker 2: want to do that, there's a reason why, and he
- 31:00Speaker 2: maybe he just doesn't want to go to this wedding,
- 31:02Speaker 2: and that is one.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Debbie's like, well, I can't get married with Adam.
- 31:05Speaker 2: And then it's like, well, if that's true, then you
- 31:06Speaker 2: would have absolutely made sure that he likes Mito and
- 31:09Speaker 2: is like hanging out this whole time.
- 31:11Speaker 1: I mean, absolute lazy Halloween happened. It's not. I mean, Debbie,
- 31:18Speaker 1: you don't give a shit about that.
- 31:22Speaker 2: So basically we're like, Debbie's a horrible mom who is like,
- 31:27Speaker 2: you know, sad and insecure and doesn't care about anything
- 31:33Speaker 2: but like her sort of like emotionally immature moment to
- 31:37Speaker 2: moment feelings and is cringey like that.
- 31:42Speaker 1: All of that is true.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Therefore she makes her like really a perfect ninety day
- 31:47Speaker 2: fiance lady and whatever her mental situations are they're not
- 31:51Speaker 2: so crazy or toxic enough where it's like a leasa
- 31:54Speaker 2: thing that it almost is like overwhelming. She is the
- 31:58Speaker 2: straight man to him being the crazy one. It's nice
- 32:02Speaker 2: of her. Okay, So Pala and Thomas, so you know,
- 32:06Speaker 2: they're fighting over the apartment space, as we know, and
- 32:09Speaker 2: she calls him selfish and he wants her parents to
- 32:12Speaker 2: sleep like in some sort of chair.
- 32:14Speaker 1: This is before they get there, and she's upset. She
- 32:16Speaker 1: like that sounds crazy, and he then is like, don't worry.
- 32:20Speaker 2: I'm also gonna turn my gaming office table into the
- 32:23Speaker 2: dining room table with the magic of a you know, tablecloth.
- 32:28Speaker 2: She's like mad at him all the time over this
- 32:32Speaker 2: situation with the apartment and we don't understand why, like
- 32:37Speaker 2: she doesn't try and remedy it, and through some other means.
- 32:45Speaker 2: He is stubborn about his space. He's like, oh, yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 2: you know, that's where I do yoga.
- 32:49Speaker 1: So that's where the yoga space is.
- 32:51Speaker 2: And it is hard when you move in with someone
- 32:53Speaker 2: who inhabits a smaller space, or just inhabits a space
- 32:57Speaker 2: that they have for a long time, or everything in
- 33:00Speaker 2: their mind is already set up a certain way and
- 33:02Speaker 2: it's hard to like change that that space could be
- 33:05Speaker 2: used for something else, because you have to acquiesce and
- 33:08Speaker 2: compromise space for someone else's wants and needs. It's much
- 33:11Speaker 2: easier to go into a space that's brand new with
- 33:14Speaker 2: someone and then be like, Okay, together, we inhabit this
- 33:17Speaker 2: space and that's yours, that's you know, like you do
- 33:19Speaker 2: this here, you do this there, And so that part
- 33:22Speaker 2: I find, you know, like, uh, I have compassion for him.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I just yeah, Like there's just a like I don't
- 33:31Speaker 1: want to I don't know.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I just he seems to kind of do the Katie
- 33:36Speaker 2: thing where it's like their lives are chaotic and messy
- 33:41Speaker 2: and like not enviable or aspirational, but they are ten
- 33:46Speaker 2: toes down on.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Why they won't change any of it.
- 33:52Speaker 2: For someone else's comfort that they should care about.
- 33:59Speaker 1: That's what I want to say.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I like, I am constantly surprised that Katie, knowing that
- 34:07Speaker 2: her way and mythology of life isn't sustainable across the board,
- 34:11Speaker 2: that there are some issues there, wouldn't try and like
- 34:15Speaker 2: change the way she does things to make someone else
- 34:19Speaker 2: who she should care about happy. And the same thing
- 34:24Speaker 2: with him, It's like he is really hard fast in
- 34:28Speaker 2: his ways, and from the smell to everything, he really
- 34:31Speaker 2: feels like the world should change around him for his benefit.
- 34:39Speaker 1: And I, yeah, that's crazy to me.
- 34:43Speaker 2: So her family comes though, and really happy to see
- 34:48Speaker 2: that he's playing with the switchblade.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Before we're like where that's coming from.
- 34:51Speaker 2: She's wearing like one of those like ninety outfit ninety
- 34:54Speaker 2: style outfits.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I really like it.
- 34:55Speaker 2: It feels very tie from Clueless, which is this like
- 34:58Speaker 2: number in the gym scene, like when they're and pe
- 35:00Speaker 2: where it's like a white kind of like short sleeve
- 35:04Speaker 2: shirt underneath a black strappie either dress or jumpsuit.
- 35:08Speaker 1: You're like, oh my god, that is so specifically nineties.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I don't know if they've talked about this before, but
- 35:12Speaker 2: it makes me happy that he speaks fluent Portuguese or
- 35:15Speaker 2: seemingly pretty good. When her family comes, he's all over
- 35:18Speaker 2: her nieces and it's cute. Now he very quickly is like,
- 35:23Speaker 2: I need to lay down the law of the land. I,
- 35:26Speaker 2: Sir Thomas, bequeathed that none of you people living in
- 35:30Speaker 2: this small apartment.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Shall wear shoes.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Or use smells smells like in soaps or smells and deodorant.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Smells and smells like smells and perfumes, and the mom's like,
- 35:41Speaker 2: that's crazy, and someone else was like, I got baby soap?
- 35:43Speaker 1: Is that okay? He's like, yeah, baby soap is usually okay.
- 35:46Speaker 2: So Powell's brother is like, you know what, I was
- 35:50Speaker 2: friends with this guy, but I'm starting to like be
- 35:52Speaker 2: a little sus of his quirks.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I don't know, he's a little eccentric.
- 35:59Speaker 2: And that comes when he, like Thomas doesn't have a
- 36:02Speaker 2: TV and it's interesting, I don't care.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Like not having a.
- 36:07Speaker 2: TV isn't a big deal to some people, and then
- 36:10Speaker 2: some people find it crazy.
- 36:12Speaker 1: I don't have a microwave. Actually I do. It's like
- 36:15Speaker 1: my landlord's microwave, but I don't use it. Like I
- 36:17Speaker 1: don't like microwaves, think they ruin the foods.
- 36:20Speaker 2: And I also feel like with toaster rep and they
- 36:21Speaker 2: get they get things get hot. So it's not a
- 36:24Speaker 2: big deal. But like, yeah, with screens and everything, the
- 36:27Speaker 2: man doesn't have a fucking TV, but he has three
- 36:30Speaker 2: huge ass screens that are usually on the dining room
- 36:33Speaker 2: table in his corner that he games on. So it's like,
- 36:36Speaker 2: what's a monitor or screen? What's the big difference? So
- 36:39Speaker 2: that's why I thought that's interesting, Like there's he has
- 36:42Speaker 2: those huge Jess screens. He does watches TV on his screens.
- 36:44Speaker 2: We be talking about he doesn't walk TV. He plays
- 36:46Speaker 2: video games. So we also get an interesting moment they
- 36:50Speaker 2: start to all the family goes out and tours long beaches,
- 36:53Speaker 2: see the Queen Mary.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Bro's talking with the Cysts, and she's like, you.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Know, I just have always fantasized and loved American culture.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I love speaking English. I'm so happy to be here.
- 37:02Speaker 2: It's been always in my dream for all you guys
- 37:03Speaker 2: to be here with me. And so we start to
- 37:06Speaker 2: be like, yeah, there's something about Pala that's like, I
- 37:08Speaker 2: have an end.
- 37:09Speaker 1: The end is to be in America.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Thomas is the Weans, and so I'm allowing or having
- 37:13Speaker 2: to deal with him whatever I need to do to
- 37:16Speaker 2: get to the end. Like she doesn't feel like she
- 37:19Speaker 2: necessary is in love with him. I feel like she's
- 37:22Speaker 2: like he's nice enough, and we get along and I
- 37:24Speaker 2: like that weird cuddle thing we do when we.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Put our legs around each other.
- 37:27Speaker 2: But he's not like super hot, and he's kind of
- 37:31Speaker 2: just like boring and a little weird. But I do
- 37:35Speaker 2: want to live in America and he is, I guess
- 37:37Speaker 2: a gringo.
- 37:38Speaker 1: So he checks the boxes. But Thomas isn't my whole universe.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Miniatures are.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Manifestation through miniatures, for the universe is my universe. He
- 37:56Speaker 2: doesn't even believe in God. He doesn't like the universe.
- 37:59Speaker 2: So how is someone who doesn't even like the universe
- 38:02Speaker 2: my universe? Anyway, So let's move on Asha and Malcolm. Honey,
- 38:09Speaker 2: she wants to look fit for that wedding, so they
- 38:11Speaker 2: go fabric shopping shop shopping with his sister Blaze. Now
- 38:15Speaker 2: she both of them are like designer esque people like
- 38:18Speaker 2: we get Asia being like I actually wanted to be
- 38:20Speaker 2: a designer. That was like, honestly my first calling besides
- 38:23Speaker 2: being a prophet. God was like, don't be a designer,
- 38:25Speaker 2: be a prophet. And that's when I was like, okay, God.
- 38:28Speaker 2: But also Blaze is a designer, Sir, I helmet at
- 38:31Speaker 2: a prophet.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Blaze is like, no, I do this shit. I have
- 38:33Speaker 1: like a seamstress.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Whatever the seamstress I hire is going to do this
- 38:36Speaker 2: dress in twenty four hours. It's always like a twenty
- 38:38Speaker 2: four hour turnaround. I swear to God, I think it's
- 38:40Speaker 2: only for like stakes, and I'm like, I actually would
- 38:43Speaker 2: find it more interesting if you showed us wedding planning
- 38:46Speaker 2: and then showed us like organic disagreements between the couples,
- 38:50Speaker 2: like through that process. Okay, But I like what Asha's wearing.
- 38:54Speaker 2: It's like a crute, cute like white crochet, you know.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Situation.
- 38:59Speaker 2: We realize that they're wood in colors are coffee brown
- 39:03Speaker 2: and white.
- 39:04Speaker 1: They go to like a traditional place to buy like,
- 39:08Speaker 1: you know, gorgeous fabrics.
- 39:09Speaker 2: The fabrics are gorgeous, and I'm just like that's why
- 39:11Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, coffee brown and white.
- 39:15Speaker 1: There's so many like beautiful pinks and reds now.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Blaze is like, I you know, I worry about my
- 39:24Speaker 2: brother and like you because you have a tendency to
- 39:29Speaker 2: put upon him things that you want and.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Then he says yes to that because he wants to
- 39:35Speaker 1: make you happy.
- 39:35Speaker 2: It's the opposite of Katie and the opposite of Thomas,
- 39:38Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying. And She's like, don't you
- 39:41Speaker 2: realize that he's saying and doing things just to make
- 39:44Speaker 2: you happy?
- 39:45Speaker 1: And a'ss like, yeah, what's the problem.
- 39:52Speaker 2: You know what, Blaze remember that part in the Bible
- 39:55Speaker 2: where Jesus, represented in the story by me, has that
- 40:02Speaker 2: fucking conversation with Peter, and Peter's like, Jesus, don't don't
- 40:09Speaker 2: do the thing that you need to do, don't fulfill
- 40:12Speaker 2: your destiny, and Jesus is like, Peter, you're my block. Well, bitch,
- 40:17Speaker 2: I'm Jesus and you're my block fucking blaze. You're a
- 40:20Speaker 2: block blazon blocking up my life, and the devil's in
- 40:24Speaker 2: the blocks. Asia having to always use God in her
- 40:33Speaker 2: arguments is like actually kind of like redembdiculous, but also
- 40:40Speaker 2: unfortunately works for her in certain circles. I would love
- 40:47Speaker 2: to watch her try.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And use one of these in a circle where people
- 40:49Speaker 1: be like, no, bitch, you're not God, You're not Jesus. Okay.
- 40:57Speaker 2: So then she meets with Rod, who you know, is
- 41:00Speaker 2: like not into this situation at all.
- 41:03Speaker 1: And.
- 41:06Speaker 2: He's like, what are your plans You're She's like, well,
- 41:08Speaker 2: im gonna get married tomorrow, you're gonna be there, ha
- 41:10Speaker 2: ha ha.
- 41:11Speaker 1: And then you know, we're gonna come to America and
- 41:12Speaker 1: he's gonna work. He's like, well, how is he gonna work?
- 41:14Speaker 1: Just how?
- 41:15Speaker 2: Like how? And she's like, well, they're my connects. He's like,
- 41:19Speaker 2: you're connects. What are your connects? She's like, you, you're
- 41:24Speaker 2: gonna get him a job? And that's when Rod's like, no,
- 41:34Speaker 2: it's funny because.
- 41:39Speaker 1: It is.
- 41:40Speaker 2: It is fun to watch someone tell her no. Like
- 41:42Speaker 2: I just said, I wanted someone to tell her no,
- 41:43Speaker 2: and he does. He's like, no, I'm not. She seems
- 41:47Speaker 2: really demanding, and I wonder if, like how many times
- 41:54Speaker 2: she has been like shown a level of reality by someone.
- 42:02Speaker 2: He's like, what skills does she does he have? He's like,
- 42:05Speaker 2: She's like, well, I'm skills mills. It's about who you know,
- 42:08Speaker 2: and I know you, so anyway that's not going to
- 42:12Speaker 2: work out turns out.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it's hard. It's really hard out there.
- 42:19Speaker 1: It's hard to get a job.
- 42:20Speaker 2: And you really do have to have, like, you know,
- 42:23Speaker 2: many different facets. You have to be able to pivot
- 42:25Speaker 2: all those things. And it doesn't really.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Truly feel like she is taking into account how difficult
- 42:31Speaker 1: it'll be.
- 42:32Speaker 2: But at the same time, she lives in a big
- 42:33Speaker 2: ass mansion, so she probably you know, I wonder if
- 42:37Speaker 2: her mind. And this is also interesting, is he going
- 42:40Speaker 2: to live in her parents' home with them?
- 42:44Speaker 1: Also, what is her da where.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Is her dad and how does her dad feel about this?
- 42:49Speaker 2: And is Juliet ever talk to her husband? What is
- 42:52Speaker 2: Juliet doing right now? I need like every I mean,
- 42:55Speaker 2: I feel like Juliette is so funny, like I love
- 42:58Speaker 2: her very much, I just like need to see more
- 43:00Speaker 2: of her, like she is she hanging out with that
- 43:04Speaker 2: young ass friend?
- 43:05Speaker 1: Now are they all drinking?
- 43:08Speaker 2: Okay my loves Believe it or not.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I actually went through the whole episode.
