- 0:30Dan O'Malley, Trey Trenholme, Raj Sharma and special guest for his tree House
- 0:38podcast debut. But he's been on the show many, many times, so
- 0:42much that we can't tell who's talking whom. Tone Bell, Hey, hey,
- 0:47hey, all right, real quick, just because we had so much
- 0:52behind the scenes technical difficulty. Tone, do you copy a copy? Raj?
- 0:58Do you copy? Rage? Just getting trade? You copy? I
- 1:10do? Thank you, Thank you for not pulling the frozen internet jerk stuff.
- 1:17Tone. I know, I know there's a strike going on, so
- 1:19you're not doing any like screen work right now. But when it eventually ends
- 1:25and you have an upcoming project that requires a corpse, Rags just gave you
- 1:27a hell of an audition. I've been texting the produce I've been texting producers.
- 1:32I know, because I think a screen shot earlier and I'm sending it
- 1:34out right now. This is who hit shot and the beauty of that as
- 1:40you can tell them, this is not this is not a screen shot.
- 1:42That's look how natural he is. I'm gonna be like, that's all my
- 1:49credits will say, is like frozen guy on Law and Order. Yeah,
- 1:52and you also get like part of your sizzle reel where it'll have and you
- 1:57like some random critic no one's heard of from a website, no one's heard
- 2:00of in Singapore saying the most realistic corpse ever. So that's what I'm going
- 2:06for. Let me tell you what AI can't do. Yeah, So tone
- 2:14Bell our friend for many many years. Like I said first time on the
- 2:16Treehouse podcast, we appreciate you hopping in with us. I'm curious is to
- 2:23get this out of the way. Yeah, how how is how is your
- 2:27SAG and writers strike treating you? Man? It's uh, I mean it
- 2:31sucks. I mean I had some stuff coming up at some big projects possibly
- 2:36you know, I mean it kind of stuffs. But you know what it's
- 2:38you know, everybody read that article that that headline of you know, one
- 2:42of the studio exact saying, you know, we're gonna play hardballs as people
- 2:46start losing their houses in their car and which which which sucks is? I
- 2:49mean now it's kind of you know, people starting the field to hurt of
- 2:52it, and it's it's one of those statements where you go, man,
- 2:55I'm glad I've been Google all these years. Yeah, I'm glad I've been
- 3:00through. I mean, people call me cheap, but I go you know,
- 3:02I was paying for the future and very very smart. No no,
- 3:07no, no, no, no, no, he's cheap. There There
- 3:12are certain things and I'm not a cheese on my handburgers rock I always get.
- 3:20He knows, he knows when to splurge. Yes, but he also
- 3:23brings. But he also brings the cheese in his backpack. It's not like
- 3:25he's ordering it, He's brought. He brought the cheese from home. Uh
- 3:29No, even back in LA because I'm smart. Uh no, even like
- 3:38that was the thing, Like even in La. Like we when he when
- 3:42he was it is currently it's super successful. We're like, why don't why
- 3:46don't you do this? Why don't you do this? And his I loved
- 3:49his answer every time. It's like, why I don't, I don't.
- 3:52I don't need to do that right now. I don't need to do that
- 3:53right now. His business managers were like, we you have to do something.
- 3:58You have to buy something because you're gonna end up paying so much in
- 4:01taxes. You've got to do something with this money. And he's like and
- 4:03by when they told him like, this is how much you could lose if
- 4:06you don't. He's like, oh okay. The only thing I've ever seen
- 4:10him go crazy on our shoes. There was one room I think that was
- 4:14just boxes of shoes. I do, I do? Uh. I actually
- 4:18just got rid of about ten twelve pair of shoes and I'm and I'm rest
- 4:21restacking now. Oh yeah, because I'm growing down my shoes. I'm buying
- 4:27a lot of insoles these days. I'm buying good insults. Do you have
- 4:30a sketcher's endorsement in the works? Tell you something. If Snow can get
- 4:34one, I should be able to get on skees parroll. So let me
- 4:41do a quick rundown of what I can recall off the top of my head.
- 4:45Because your credits list tone is long and distinguished. Insert joke here.
- 4:53Uh. I mean I've done a lot of mini series, a lot of
- 4:56mini Wait have you done a lot of many series or just TV shows that
- 5:00were short lived? Series that were many? But I say mini series.
- 5:06I think I like the twist. I think that works in your favor.
- 5:09You should stick with. Some people want to do ninety episodes and get rich.
- 5:12I'm like, give me thirteen and I'm moving on. Well, I
- 5:18like how you treat your career like you treat your women. Yeah, that
- 5:26is that is very true. That is that's right. I forgot you.
- 5:28You are a domestic now, so yeah, yeah, a quick rundown of
- 5:31your credit. So we've got most recently are you you're not mentioning it.
- 5:36I'm going to mention it because I don't know what you're allowed to promote and
- 5:39not promote because I strike the show that I have on Netflix, but you
- 5:43can absolutely say the title of it. Yeah. Yeah, the new show
- 5:46on Netflix is at Survival of the Thickest, correct. That is that?
- 5:50That which I'm not promoting if you watch it because it's out current streaming on
- 5:54Netflix. I'm not promoting The new show on Netflix is out, and I
- 5:59definitely would not ask you to promote it. I just want to make sure
- 6:00I make sure that that I mention it because you're in it and you're damn
- 6:05good in it, and yeah, it's really very You're you're you're damn good
- 6:10and everything get bastard. So that's the most recent thing you've also, I
- 6:14mean, let's see, uh, drink Masters, which drink Masters? Thank
- 6:18you Drink Masters, which is also on Netflix. You are the host of
- 6:23Drink Masters. Congratulations on that. All right, what else so we've got
- 6:29I remember when you first moved to La you got a was it a Miller
- 6:32like commercial? Yeah? First thing, I have a book, which which
- 6:36I thought was super ironic because when he was living in Dallas, he was
- 6:40working for annheuser Busch. So he quit Anheuser Busch and his first gig in
- 6:44LA was for Miller. I did not quit. Oh that's right. I'm
- 6:48sorry, I'm sorry. Correct me, please, yes, you're right.
- 6:51They let me go. You took the package. There was not another package
- 6:57to take. I took yet it was that or good fired. But I
- 7:01did appreciate and I didn't know this, uh in the very beginning when when
- 7:08when I first met town, we started hanging out and like all of us
- 7:11would go out to the bars and stuff. I was like, man,
- 7:14he is he must be killing it at Anheuser Busch because he will just buy
- 7:18drinks for everybody. I'm like this, man is this Not only is he
- 7:23brilliantly talented, he's very funny, he's also like very kind. And then
- 7:28like one time we were at the Regal Beagle many many months later, he's
- 7:32like yeah, and he's like, oh, you can just put it on,
- 7:35just put it on me. And I'm like, you know, you
- 7:36don't have to. We're cool, Like everybody's good now, Like you don't
- 7:40have to. And he's like, no, no, no, this isn't
- 7:42I'm not paying for any of this. And I was like, I have
- 7:46to spend his money. Yes, he had to spend a certain amount of
- 7:49money on promotions or whatever and buying drinks as long as it was an Anheuser
- 7:56Busch product. And even then he'd kind of like finagle his way around that
- 8:01a little bit, but he was it was true to that. I was
- 8:03like, wow, that is uh. He was doing well and he was
- 8:07getting people to to buy it, so for them to let him go.
- 8:11But I also found out that they had beer. They had taps in their
- 8:13office, like you could on on front be if they didn't. Yeah,
- 8:20I just didn't know. Yeah, but I didn't have to go to the
- 8:24office ever. Really, I stopped buying me now and then, but I
- 8:26didn't have to go to the office. No, Yeah, there were there
- 8:31weren't taps in the office. Plus we had we had some crazy wee could.
- 8:35I think I think it was every I don't know if it was every
- 8:37two weeks or every month. You could go by the distributor to go pick
- 8:39up two cases. Just feel like, you know parties or what I mean,
- 8:45you can just go for Yeah, and you gave me the cooler grill
- 8:52combo. That was one and the same thing. That it was a cooler
- 8:56when he wanted to be a cooler and then a grill when you needed to
- 8:58cook out. Yeah, we weren't supposed to say that, Rod, you
- 9:01weren't supposed to have that. I think we now know why you had to
- 9:07take the package. I gave a lot of stuff away that should have been
- 9:11for clients and I okay. So in between Survival of the Thickest, which
- 9:20is currently on Netflix that you are certainly not promoting, but I'm just mentioning
- 9:24it because it's out there, and in between the Anheuser Busch gig and Dallas
- 9:28and starting comedy in Dallas, then you booked a Miller Light spot. In
- 9:31between those, you had a work Wife, which is a television movie,
- 9:37a movie called Horror Noir where you played Marcus, a black lady sketch show
- 9:41appearance in the movie the United States versus Billy Holiday, which which I think
- 9:48the last time we had you on was to help promote that American soul as
- 9:54Richard Pryor. Yeah, episode of BoJack Horseman, Sylvie's Love, the Tea
- 10:00V series fam that's one of your miniseries. Then another film where you had
- 10:03had a wonderful supporting role in the movie Little Then the Weekend Dog Days,
- 10:09which is damn you. Tone is one of the few times I actually cried
- 10:13in a movie theater. That goes to show you how good of an actor
- 10:18you are is Terrace sent my wife sent tone of texting you made Dan cry,
- 10:26black Ices, Black Ice, disjointed with Kathy Bates, who you're still
- 10:30friends with, Woman Child blacked out a short My Time, Your Time,
- 10:33Good Fortune, the Flash television show, Hell yeah, that was back when
- 10:37that show was good You. You made your appearances on their Truth be Told,
- 10:41Bad Judge. All right, I'm out of wind, but so far,
- 10:43I think I think your greatest credit right now tone the thing that the
- 10:48next time you hit the stage or do a late night appearance and they say
- 10:52you might know Tone Bell from all these projects. Your your biggest credit needs
- 10:56to be those curtains behind you in your house. Okay, I feel like
- 11:01I feel like that is accomplishment because I know how excited you are to buy
- 11:05that house before I was so ruly interrupted by technology. Uh, because I'm
- 11:16a classy broad. Now that's a valance, Dan, A valance. I'm
- 11:20sorry, a valance. So I apologies. I think you own that.
- 11:24I mean, I like people associated the curtains with Johnny Carson. I think
- 11:28you can own that. You think you think I should just keep this here.
- 11:31I think you should take that on the road with you. But this
- 11:35is one of those things where like, if I ever have to call the
- 11:37police, they're gonna be like, you don't live here. And that's why
- 11:43it would be wise to start taking it with you. So people see when
- 11:46you're at City Addison improv or at Dallas Comedy Club this weekend, you hang
- 11:52it behind you. So people when they see that hideous valance, they see
- 11:56you tone bell. So that way, when the inevitable happened and the police
- 12:00show up at your house wondering why you live here, you'd be like,
- 12:03Oh, it's oh, it's that guy that that's totally his. Some people
- 12:07have logo. Some people wear a chain some people have a certain style.
- 12:11Yes, I'll roll with a balance. Yeah, just say you know you're
- 12:16bringing Decatur with you. Nobody from home. Nobody from home is accepting this.
- 12:26I would also like to point out this is the perfect time to plug
- 12:28the YouTube channel, so if you're listening audio wise, you can see you
- 12:33can see these balances overtone shoulder inside his very very gorgeous hill country mansion.
- 12:41Yeah, hideous balances. You can just find us at Treehouse on air on
- 12:46YouTube. And it's a balance, Yeah, balance it is. It is
- 12:54not only is it a beautiful mention, it's a it's a very nice ranch,
- 13:00which I would never in a million years of knowing Tone would ever say
- 13:03that he would own a ranch and that his best friend would be Jerry.
- 13:09Uh is, No, it's it's Jerry and his wife live next door.
- 13:16They're the sweetest human beings you've ever met. And that is legitimately like a
- 13:20Tone sits on a porch and and and drinks with an old, old white
- 13:24man. If this is not a movie, someday, I don't know what
- 13:28I mean. Literally, when I hang up, I'm going over to hang
- 13:31out with him. Likes that's what we're doing. Fridays. Man, when
- 13:35I'm not busy on Friday, I'm going because he don't call me in a
- 13:39minute, he's gonna be like, what are you doing. Let's gonna have
- 13:39a drink. He's it's my guy. Man. He does right across the
- 13:43street. He's eighty six, he just turned eighty six, and we kick
- 13:48him like three four nights a week. Man, it's my it's my guy.
- 13:50He and his wife we just get So You've got Tuesdays and Wednesdays and
- 13:54Fridays with Jerry. You have no idea. I be out of town and
- 14:00I catch him on the camera walking around and make sure the property is good.
- 14:03Like he just he just m yeah's he's amazing. Man. Last year
- 14:09for their anniversary because they've been married sixty seven years now, yes I got
- 14:13sixty six, been married sixty sixty years t shirts and so they warm out.
- 14:18We all went to go see a band last year for the for their
- 14:20anniversary, and so they do. They still go out and kicking man.
- 14:24I mean now, it's hard because every now and then you go, hey,
- 14:26man, I should not be riding with this dude. Yeah, when
- 14:33you when you it's a beautiful interaction. When when I first met them at
- 14:37your house because I saw them at the roast the night before. But when
- 14:41I met them at your house, Uh, it was like, I don't
- 14:45know who's adopted whom, Like it's the it's the sweetest, like it's the
- 14:50sweetest relationship you can see people like, it's it's so it's so kind,
- 14:54Like there's just so much joy in watching the two of them, the three
- 14:56of them talk. I'm like they tones adopted them. I'm pretty sure it
- 15:01kind of sounds that way. We get pedicures together every like three four weeks.
- 15:07We go, Linda makes an appointment, we go down. We just
- 15:11we go grabbing margarita. Afterwards, we were like, go have wings and
- 15:13watch again. We watched the open the night last night. We watched the
- 15:16game together last night. And speaking to seeing friends, You're gonna be seeing
- 15:20a lot of friends as you headlined Dallas Comedy Club this weekend for Tone.
- 15:26Do you know all the ticket info? Roger? Do you know off the
- 15:28top of your head? I know I'm there the fifteenth and the sixteenth,
- 15:31two shows on Friday, two shows on Saturday. Have no idea what the
- 15:33ticket price is because I don't pay for him. But but but I'm working
- 15:39on I am molding this new hour right now, so like so you'll get
- 15:43this chance to see the stuff that that will be eventually on a platform.
- 15:46And I probably can't promote yet, but yeah, yes it is. You
- 15:50can call two one four eight one four nineteen eighty or Dallas Dash Comedy Club
- 15:56dot com. Uh, and then just find that hands from face right there
- 16:00and clicking by tickets. It's probably twenty five is thirty bucks tickets somewhere in
- 16:04there in that region is my guests. I don't know for sure, but
- 16:07two and four eight one four nineteen eighty and Dallas Dash Comedy House dot com,
- 16:12Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot Sorry, Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot com.
- 16:17But make sure I get that crash. Oh. I remember the thing I
- 16:18was I was gonna mention before we let you go, tone and that is
- 16:22that if you don't have a show in mind yet with you and Jerry,
- 16:26some type of depiction of it, you need to do that because obviously you've
- 16:30got tons of content there and ideas to from, but it needs to come
- 16:34from Tonebell Productions. Do you have a production company yet? I do.
- 16:40It's called Bertie Pie Productions. And h yeah, there's we are going to
- 16:44do something. I mean, Jerry is I mean you should see people look
- 16:47at us when we go because he takes me to an airport sometimes he often
- 16:52picks me up and people are like, man, how did they how did
- 16:55they know each other? Yes, this is it's it's very And I treat
- 16:57him like he we're the same age. And I think that's why, you
- 17:00know, we just get along. Well. I just I don't treat him
- 17:02like he's eighty six. I just treat him like he one of my boys.
- 17:04Man, and we just we just bust balls and like it's it's super
- 17:07fun. And so yeah, eventually we do have to figure something out,
- 17:10and and I need to figure it out quick. Yeah you do. Yeah,
- 17:12yeah, you want to make sure. You want to make sure that
- 17:15he gets to see, you know, the fruits of his friendship with you
- 17:18come you know. Yeah, yeah I have. I have a few ideas
- 17:22of mine. I'll pitch them to you next week when you're here this week,
- 17:23when you're in here, Sorry, is that is that? Is that?
- 17:26Is that a bad thing? Is that something that gets on your nerves?
- 17:27Tone? Because I'll be honest with you, I have ideas for you
- 17:30know, like like TV shows and things audio things as well in the world
- 17:34of podcasting. That's why I wanted to see if you have a production company,
- 17:37because if if, if I got ideas, I want to run them
- 17:41up your flagpole because I think some of them would be good, because I
- 17:45think I think maybe a's prequel. I think I think maybe a prequel to
- 17:48the Equalizer films, uh starring a starring Tone Bell would be very And you
- 17:56know what, I'd like to point out that was just off the top of
- 17:59my head, I got other I mean, did you did you inavertently call
- 18:02it the prequelizer again? That's exactly what I called it. Despite all the
- 18:10Internet issues we've had trying to get this episode recorded. I'm glad you heard
- 18:14that line that I said, the prequelizer series. Yes, I mean,
- 18:17I mean, if it's about him not being able to fight yet and save
- 18:19people, I'm all in. I think I think with you, it's exactly
- 18:23Yet you have to go through it's the origin story where however, the CIA
- 18:27finds you, yes, and they have to train you. So it's basically
- 18:32just uh thirteen episode running you getting your ass kick. He's real, real
- 18:37bad up top. Yes, but here's the thing. Jerry was the original
- 18:41CIA agent. Uh, and he's now had we trained you and then the
- 18:47bad guys killed Jerry and you, then then you have to learn all the
- 18:49skills he doesn't. Yes, but he's terrible. He gets an ass kick
- 18:55a lot and uh but he's but he's very, very charming and funny.
- 18:59Okay, well they oh see once. If nothing else, we can always
- 19:04just do a reboot of Get Smart with tone. We need to do something.
- 19:10I'm all in for the prequelizer. That is the greatest name in the
- 19:12movie history. I mean, I think it will work. That's that's it's
- 19:18gonna be its own franchise. You're gonna be busiest hell man, man,
- 19:23hope they'll strike in soon. We can get back to work because because these
- 19:26bills don't pay themselves, they don't. And I imagine that you have plans
- 19:30to make sure you put a valance like the one that's behind you in every
- 19:34room of your of your house. If y'all don't think I'm sending all three
- 19:37of y'all a valance, I'm getting everybody getting everybody people getting for Christmas from
- 19:45now on. And that's you know what, that's gonna be amazing looking when
- 19:49someone tunes into the Treehouse podcast on YouTube and sees our backdrops all with tone
- 19:55Bell valances. Yeah, it's not gonna reflect you. It's gonna be this
- 19:56one right here. I'm gon replicas of this one right here with a little
- 20:04TV signature in the corner of fact. When you're in your car and it
- 20:07gets hot, instead of putting a little mirror thing in the windshield, you
- 20:11put this in the windshield. Tone Bell car shields. That's how you know.
- 20:19That's how you know when tones remodeling is the gifts you get, like
- 20:22why did I get a abnet? And some people want some people want air
- 20:26fryers, nah Man ballots. I can't wait for your agency to send us
- 20:32all checks for these ideas for you. Be sure to catch tone Bell at
- 20:37the Dallas Comedy Club Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot com welcomes the phone number again
- 20:42rage two one four eight one four nineteen eighty or Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot

- 20:49and it's home and it'll it'll sell out for sure. So get them now
- 20:52before they're all gone. Absolutely, someone we love you have a great time

- 21:03And if you ever want to call and get hung up on multiple times via
- 21:07internet like we've done today, all right, we're gonna you know, I
- 21:10like me hung up on this much. This fit, this keeps you humbling,
- 21:15well, then you are super humble today. My friend pool listening to
- 21:30the Treehouse, visit us online that Treehouse on air dot com. Let's get
- 21:41Rodney Anderson into the Treehouse now. His phone number is nine seven two nine
- 21:45eight five fifty two hundred. Very important phone number. You're going to need
- 21:48that. And the website also important, Rodney Anderson dot com. So Rodney,
- 21:52let's start with this. Self employed today? Are those that want to
- 21:56be self employed? Do they have cash out refinance options available to them?
- 22:00So let me walk you through this stand. We have a lot of people
- 22:04that currently own businesses. Their businesses are thriving, but they want to invest
- 22:10in their business. Or we have somebody that has a full time job and
- 22:15they want to start being self employeed down the road, but they need some
- 22:18capital to raise money and so we're seeing a lot of people do cash out
- 22:22refinances just for that. I'll give you an example. We had a gentleman
- 22:26that owned a commercial property and he went to his bank to get a loan
- 22:32for two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. They said, no, we're not
- 22:36lending much money right now, so we're not going to do that. Well,
- 22:38him and his wife, their home was worth one point three million dollars.
- 22:41They only owed two hundred and fifty thousand on it. So we did
- 22:45a cash out refinance and gave them the money that they needed. That it
- 22:49was going to be a lot better interest rate than the commercial loan because the
- 22:52bank wanted to charge of nine percent. And then we had another another client.
- 22:57They had full time jobs. They want to invest in a franchise.
- 23:00Well, the franchise cost up front was one hundred thousand dollars, so they
- 23:04went to their bank to get a small business loan. The bank declined them,
- 23:08so we did cash out refinance for them and gave them the one hundred

- 24:26out all the technical difficulties with tones Country ass Internet but I, uh,
- 24:34it did not give me an opportunity. With all the little the drops and
- 24:37stuff of distractions, I did not get the opportunity to make a mention rag
- 24:42of your microphone that looks an awful lot like an Angels dick. Yeah,
- 24:47I you know when I when I got it, I wasn't on, Like
- 24:51there was no visual thing happening. So it was just a really good mike
- 24:56and you couldn't see me. And now now that I see it, like,
- 25:00yeah, okay, this is uh but it's it's it's yeah, it
- 25:03is described accurately. It's it's it looks like it's very angelic and phallic at
- 25:11the same time. It looks like something Benny Hinn would use or Benny Hill,
- 25:15one of the two either you're either one of those two would use this.
- 25:22ROJ You realized that reference is so lost on probably eighty percent of the
- 25:26audience. Yeah, but the twenty percent that get it will drive their car
- 25:32off the highway. That absolutely is a Benny Hinn style microphone. And then
- 25:40also there also is a halo around that phallic looking thing in front of Rog's
- 25:44mouth. Trey, I saw you looking at your watch a couple of times.
- 25:48You need to get going soon. No, I was just it was
- 25:51getting me an alert that I've hit my stand goal for the day. I'm
- 25:56sorry, what, so you're apple, you have different It gives you like
- 26:00you have rings that you try to close every day, and there's like an
- 26:03exercise ring, like you're gonna burn eight hundred calories, you're gonna exercise for
- 26:08thirty minutes or judges it by your heart rate, and then it's a stand
- 26:12goal of that every that for a certain amount of hours every day that you're
- 26:17going to stand and be moving for at least a couple of minutes. Oh
- 26:21that's yeah. That one's new to me because I've got like mine is the
- 26:25is a garment deal, so it's you know, it's an activity tracker,
- 26:27so I'm familiar with how many steps that they want you to get each day
- 26:32or how many activity minutes that you're you know, being tracked on. But
- 26:34mine does not have the stand goal. Well just because standing you have to
- 26:41be told to stand? Well, yeah, it does it give you an
- 26:45alert, Hey, you've been sitting a lot today, Time to stand up?
- 26:48Actually, yes, it will every at ten minutes till the top of
- 26:52the hour. If you haven't stood that hour, it will give you an
- 26:53alert. And you say that this is but think about all of the c
- 27:00and the people who sitting in office and they don't move all day because there's
- 27:03a there's a new Netflix special, Yeah on living to one hundred, and
- 27:07this guy travels around a different you know area the world where people have,
- 27:11you know, a much greater longevity than we do. First episode. Just
- 27:17just two things before you finish your thought. I don't think with the obesity
- 27:22issue in the United States, I don't think alerts or the issue. I
- 27:26don't think if they were alerted to stand more, they would. I don't
- 27:30think that's the case. I think they need to be motivated on their own
- 27:33first. I think in general, I think if you're like you know what
- 27:37I don't. I'm not an active person. I don't think a watch uh
- 27:42make you go you know Today's you know it's telling me to stand. I
- 27:47would take If I was that person, I would just be motivated to take
- 27:51this watch off. Uh. You can know he wants to be a hundred.
- 27:55Nobody why would you want to? Well, if you have a quality
- 27:59of life like like that's all your friends will be dead who hang out with
- 28:06younger black guy. And then you know, you see when you say it,
- 28:11it sounds criminal. It sounds like gonna abduct the black dude just to
- 28:18hang out with. You know what's good? We should probably help Tray finish
- 28:19that sentence. What he means is finding younger black guy that moves in next
- 28:25to you, that you befriend and now your best friends and do everything together,
- 28:27like tone with his neighbor Jerry or his neighbor or yeah, go you
- 28:33get the idea. Yeah, he's across the house, across the street.
- 28:37And when I say across the street, it's a very it's a very small
- 28:41street. It's two lanes, and but the driveway is for tones places.
- 28:47When we were going to for his birthday, we've done the roast and we'd
- 28:51had another day that we did something else, and on Saturday we went for
- 28:55the roast, and then it was the uber was taking me to his house.
- 28:59She's like or driving up the driveway and she's like, do you want
- 29:02me to drop you off here? And I was like, first she stopped
- 29:04at the front, so I do want to drop you off here? And
- 29:06I was like, absolutely not. It is it's one hundred and eight degrees
- 29:10and I'm I'm not doing that and to walk, yes, exactly. My
- 29:17walk alert hasn't started for the day. The heat stroke alert might have started
- 29:22outside it, but no. And we got up the driveway and she's like,
- 29:26where where? How how much further? And I'm like, you can
- 29:29keep keep going until you see door, until you until you see that it's
- 29:33round about that turns into the in front of the house. I'm like,
- 29:36now we can stop. It's like, oh, that's that would have been
- 29:37a long walk. I was like, that is correct, and so that
- 29:41would have got my ten thousand steps I know, is it's still ten thousand?
- 29:42They keep changing it on people. I don't know how many steps are
- 29:47supposed to get, fairies. I think it depends on the celebrity trainer that
- 29:49you ask. Although Trey, I'm with you. See, I'm fine.
- 29:52I would love to live to one hundred. No, if I have if
- 29:56I have a good quality of life, Okay, yeah, that's I mean.
- 30:02And you're now okay, go ahead. You're assuming everybody around you is
- 30:06also living to a hundred. Well, luckily I don't form strong attachments with
- 30:08others. Robots good to know show we're on look, I love you guys.
- 30:22Okay, but if you you know, and I would love to I
- 30:25would love to be you know, ninety eight ninety nine years old, and
- 30:27the three of us, well, I guess you guys would be over one
- 30:30hundred at that point if I make it to ninety eight nine. But basically
- 30:33we could be we could be the you know, the one hundred club in
- 30:37the treehouse, and it's just it's just three really really old guys still talking
- 30:41about stupid stuff. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know what the age like,
- 30:45I'm my knees hurt. Now, look I'm good, like I'm like
- 30:48like if it was like, if it was my time to go, I'd
- 30:52be like cool man, I did some really interesting stuff. But don't get
- 30:55me wrong, if I make it to one hundred, everyone of my joints
- 30:57is going to be more mminiscent of Wolverine than it is. If I will,
- 31:03I will be rebuilt. We have the technology. Yeah, I don't
- 31:08like I there's I was watching something similar document not to Live to one hundred,
- 31:12But it was a documentary on the oldest person and he outlived all of
- 31:17his children, and then all of his friends and then every everybody, Like
- 31:21he was married twice everybody, so he didn't know anybody. I'm like,
- 31:25I don't want to Like that sounds not fun. I don't want to know.
- 31:30Okay, here's the here's all I'll say. I don't want to make
- 31:30new friends at nineties. At ninety nine, mmm, I don't want to
- 31:37meet I don't want to meet new people. That. Yeah, I don't
- 31:38want to meet new people. I don't want to start dating at ninety six.
- 31:42I don't. I don't think most people want to start dating after forty.
- 31:47But yeah, I just I just don't want to. I don't know
- 31:52that. I don't see the appeal. I'm like, just like, sixty
- 31:55five seems good. I don't know. I don't know sixty five. I'm
- 31:59like, seventeen away from that, I'm solid. That's good. I've seen
- 32:01enough Summer Olympics India doesn't qualify for anything. Okay, Like, I'm good,
- 32:07I'm not gonna you know, all all the jokes will have been written
- 32:10by then, and AI was taken over. So so Trey, what was
- 32:14the secret in the show? What was the Netflix documentary called It's called something
- 32:20like Living to one hundred? And what did they say? The secret was?
- 32:22Well, so I haven't even finished. So, like I said,
- 32:25the first episode, the guy went to Okinawa, where they have four times
- 32:30likely a chance to live to be one hundred and a greater quality of life,
- 32:32less disease less all. Let's briefly, let's keep it in context.
- 32:37It you can live to one hundred and equal and you can live to one
- 32:39hundred in Okinawa now, partly because we're no longer bombing them, yes,
- 32:45And that's actually one of the things that they say, because they're One of
- 32:49the things is that their diet is this like purple sweet potato. That was
- 32:53something that was one of the few things that was abundant after World War two,
- 32:58and but that's a big part of their diet and they say it helps.
- 33:00But one of the biggest things they say, and you know it goes
- 33:02back to standing and everything else, is that they sit on the floor and
- 33:07so they are up and down, you know, all their lives. And
- 33:12that's one thing that we get very sedentary, and you don't. I mean,
- 33:16they're probably most sixty year olds can't even touch their toes. Oh I
- 33:22can't touch my toes with straight legs. So you're saying, both my hamstrings
- 33:27would shoot across the room. If I tried that, The secret if I
- 33:30get this, if I get this right, the secret to live into one
- 33:35hundred is criss cross apple sauce. Can you sit? Can you sit criss
- 33:42cross apple sauce? I can. I can sit in yoga posh. Most
- 33:45people can't lotus position. I can do that. So it sounds to me.
- 33:50Then I was like, you're going to live to be a hundred?
- 33:52I will, I will end it? Is going to live with a one
- 33:55hundred and fifteen, I'll, I'll end it. Ill if I see,
- 34:00if I see my trajectory getting that way, I'm stealing a plane and I'm
- 34:02finding a mountain. That's all. That's going to be your story for every
- 34:07single day post sixty five is you trying to find a way to kill yourself,
- 34:14but the universe and other people find ways to stop you. Yeah,
- 34:17that's that's my movie, Unwilling. That's another one of the projects that we
- 34:22need Tone Bells Production Company. Unwilling to Live to a hundred. It's basically
- 34:30the opposite of of of you know, the road Runner and Coyote. Yes,
- 34:36yes, every you're trying, you're trying to rocket yourself into the side
- 34:42of a mountain. But there comes the road runner just to to like pinch
- 34:45out the the actual tunnel. I'm driving full speed at the at the looks
- 34:52like a tunnel, and then it turns out it's a tunnel. We saved
- 34:57him again, Everyone put, I just don't want to start every story with
- 35:01I had a friend named Dan once, Like, I don't want to start
- 35:06what happened him? Well, they're all dead. What do you mean I'm
- 35:07on fifteen, Like the seventy year old that I'm talking to it is about
- 35:13to die from this story. I don't know. I don't know. I'm
- 35:17good. I'm not sixty five. I'm out. I'm just like you guys.
- 35:22All right, well we well remember that. So Trey, when when
- 35:25rage hit or right before rage hit sixty five, we'll put a help wanted
- 35:30sign in the three house window sixty listen to me sixty on my sixty fifth.
- 35:37We'll have a party on my sixty fifth birthday. And then when we
- 35:39come to log onto the show and you're like everybody copy and then you don't
- 35:44see me, like yep, it'll just be a black screen with a little
- 35:47candlelit. Right they're sat you're listening to the treehouse. Listen us online that
- 36:13treehouse on air dot com. Eight three three. Cook DFW is the phone
- 36:25number four Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration. That's eight three three cook DFW the
- 36:30website cook dfw dot com. So, Daniel, I'm curious as a homeowner,
- 36:36what should I look for in a roofer. Well, first of all,
- 36:38you should look for a logo that has cook DFW embedded in the center
- 36:43of it and it's through out of the state of Texas around it. So
- 36:45if you find that, you are good to go. No more further passes
- 36:50at any other searching you need. But let's say for some reason you are
- 36:54out there and you see some signs from another roofing company or somebody says another,
- 37:00then there are several things you need to research. One are they local?
- 37:04Do they have a storefront? Are they going to be here? Are
- 37:07they a part of the community. Are they just passing through from state to
- 37:10state and they're trying to find some roos to do because they can go down
- 37:14to home Depot or lows and find some guys that can put the shingles on
- 37:16and they can go buying from the store down you know, somewhere else.
- 37:20So those are somethings. Are they BBB? Do they have that accurate you
- 37:23know, you know, affiliation with BBB making sure that they have been trusted.
- 37:28Those BBB guys, they're like a lot of people overlook that, but
- 37:30they background check you. They make sure that your business is valid. They
- 37:35take any complaints and they and they address those. So if if the company's
- 37:38not BBB endorsed, that can lead to some other big problems. And then
- 37:42are they insured? Do they show a copy of their general you know,
- 37:45liability insurance? Are they bonded? You know? And what kind of cruise
- 37:49do they use? How long have they had the same cruise? What are
- 37:51they capable of doing? You know? What materials do they use? Are
- 37:53they able to allow the warranty to get transferred from the manufacturer? There are
- 37:58so many things that you need to do search on before you allow somebody to
- 38:01work on your very expensive investment, which is our homes. Our homes are
- 38:05worth so much money now, so why would you risk blowing it and having
- 38:09more problems? I don't know, I can't get it through my head.
- 38:12Man. It's like riding a tract or drunk, right, I mean,
- 38:15why would you do that? It's just to give the moose. But no,
- 38:17we're talking about at home here. We can't do these things in our
- 38:21homes. What Daniel Cook is saying is if you if you see his name
- 38:23on the side of a truck, you know it's good. Everything he just
- 38:25listed off, He's already got end so much more so give Cook DFW Roofing
- 38:30inter Restoration to call eight three three Cook DFW Free roof Inspection eight three three
- 38:35cook DFW or cook dfw dot com. It's the treehouse. Let's get Jacqueline

- 39:14invest it somewhere because life is expensive, or honestly, nowadays it might go

- 40:39dead. No, no, this was like, this was like two thousand

- 41:29were you just practicing your your standing from criss cross apple sauce position, Because
- 41:35one of the things you do every single week that we record is like right
- 41:40now, Roji's doing it. Right now, We're looking through his camera and
- 41:44always see is the microphone, the ceiling in and the television off to the
- 41:47side, but no Trey. And then all of a sudden he just look
- 41:52pops up. Yeah. Hello. The first time I think I said it
- 41:59out. The first time I thought I was like Tray fell because it looks
- 42:04like if you like, you'll be there. And then I'll look at my
- 42:06phone to see messages or emails. I'll look back, I'm like, oh,
- 42:08got Tray call. Well I still and this goes this goes back to
- 42:16the days in the studio Dan with is I still stand when we're doing these
- 42:21recordings, and so like sometimes we're in between recordings or whatever, I sit
- 42:25down, especially days like today we're just tired, and so yeah, then
- 42:30it looks like I fell down and then pop back up. But the good
- 42:34you are getting back up, that is the important thing. Yeah, yeah,
- 42:37hundred here we come. You just you just keep falling down and getting
- 42:42back up, and then the next thing, you know, all your friends
- 42:45are dead. And there's you speaking of speaking of everybody being dead. Okay,
- 42:52okay. A couple of episodes ago, we were talking about the white
- 42:59people climbing Mount Everest. Yes, I'm Raj. I have some very very
- 43:05bad news for you. It's not all white people. It's not. It's
- 43:09not. If you are to google Green Boots Mount Everest, that is the
- 43:15nickname of one of the climbers that is still there near the summit of Mount
- 43:20Everest, just lying there, frozen dead, just a dead sickle, still
- 43:27wearing all the ironically protective clothing, including green like neon green boots that I
- 43:35guess occasionally when there's snow, it's the boots that stick out, and then
- 43:38sometimes when some of that snow thaws, then you see the rest of him.
- 43:42But his nickname is Green Boots. And when you google Green Boots Mount
- 43:46Everest, it comes up that while technically they don't know the identity of Green
- 43:54Boots, they suspect that he is an Indian climber. I disagree. They
- 44:05can't prove it, so they don't want it to They don't want it to
- 44:07all be a bunch of kiles up there. And diversity and death and look,
- 44:20Tray, he was sitting down the whole time, and he's gonna be
- 44:30frozen till one hundred. No. I think this is a story perpetuated by
- 44:38a white family who who wants to just try to make it to where it
- 44:45wasn't their kid doing dumb white kids stuff that goes. You see that mountain
- 44:50that looks like no one can climb it, let's do that like that?
- 44:52Nobody, No, okay, here's how okay. I've been to India many
- 44:57times. I've been to Nepal, I've been the lay I've been to where
- 45:00I mean, I've been to where I can see the Himalayas. And then
- 45:05nobody, No, nobody in my group, nobody in the market, nobody
- 45:08in the in the in the like the courtyards or the little grassy areas where
- 45:14all the kids are playing and the parents are picnicking. At no point did
- 45:16anybody turn at any point. And I've been there multiple times ago. Do
- 45:20you want to see if we can climb that? Nobody ever said that.
- 45:23Nobody ever said it. When the sherpas would come in, if you'd see
- 45:29them come down, and they always bring them bring the people to the marketplace
- 45:34and lay and Ladoc to buy like the coats and and and all that stuff,
- 45:37like, and I have a couple of beautiful wool coats that are made
- 45:42by the Nepalese people that are there. They're amazingly warm. I have two
- 45:47of them that I bought. Every time they bring in, it's all always
- 45:52a whole bunch of white people right behind them, and they're like, this
- 45:57is where you buy all the gear. They're like, all right, because
- 45:59we're climbing out Everest. And I was like, looked, I feel like
- 46:01the college professor. I'm like, look to your left, look to your
- 46:05right, the people, these people will not be coming down. So you're
- 46:09trying to tell me that if you want to climb out Everest, you're not
- 46:12going to find everything you need at RDI No, you will not off a
- 46:15Northwest tide. YEA, yeah, now I'll go I'll go to I'll go
- 46:27to Schrpa's Outdoor World next to the base camp at Mount Everest. But like,
- 46:32like, I don't think Oshman's was ever gonna have this if you needed
- 46:37to get to the top of Everest. Yeah if if if if Green boots
- 46:39bottom from Dicks, there's a reason he died what happened it that's under snow
- 46:52armor. So that guy is According according to Wikipedia, green Boots is the
- 46:57name given to the unidentified body of a climber that became a landmark on the
- 47:01main northeast ridge route of Mount Everest. The body has not been The body
- 47:07has not been officially identified, but he's believed to be. I'm gonna butcher
- 47:12this name. Raj should help me if if you can, uh to so
- 47:15long Paul Jour. It's T S, E, W, A and G.
- 47:21So he's it would be Nepalese. Is what the that's the background of
- 47:25that name? I believe is it? Well? They then Paul Jour is
- 47:29the last name p. A. L. J O R an Indian climber
- 47:31who died on Everest in nineteen ninety six. And I don't know. They
- 47:37don't know for sure. They're just it's it's suspected. That sounds the beginning
- 47:43of the name. Uh, that's it's a ts. It's usually Nepalese,
- 47:47but it could be a Nepalese person of Nepalese descent living in India. Oh
- 47:52so they're so they're giving the wrong so they're giving credit to the wrong country
- 47:57of origin. So he may have been let's an Indian, oh yeah,
- 48:01the resident, or or he may have lived in India, but he may
- 48:05have been you know, been born in Nepal. Yeah, or his family's
- 48:07from Nepal. And he they said client, I thought he might have been
- 48:10a sherp, but that is possible. They don't really, they don't very
- 48:14often die up there. So but I was like, Okay, and maybe
- 48:17my theory now that you said that it could be of Indian descent and he
- 48:22is the only one that they've nicknamed, you know, his green boots,
- 48:24and it could be him. I'm guessing what happened was he got to the
- 48:28north east facing side of the mountain and got the call that he did not
- 48:32make it to med school, and and then just sat down and because someone
- 48:45was gonna kill him, telling him if he had just had that stand Alert
