- 0:00Speaker 1: If you had to restart today from scratch, knowing everything
- 0:03Speaker 1: you know now, what would be the first three money moves?
- 0:08Speaker 2: So for me, I'll answer this question first. Yeah, yeah.
- 0:13Speaker 1: For me personally, you start from scratch. Investing is not
- 0:17Speaker 1: a top priority for me. Not to say that that's
- 0:19Speaker 1: not something that, but I feel like if you have
- 0:21Speaker 1: no money, your priority, how are you going to invest
- 0:24Speaker 1: money if you don't have money? Starting from scratch, I
- 0:26Speaker 1: would figure out a low overhead service-based business. I'm just
- 0:29Speaker 1: speaking from personal experience. I can only give you my
- 0:31Speaker 1: personal experience. So when I was in the financial services
- 0:34Speaker 1: industry selling insurance.
- 0:35Speaker 2: There's a lot of different stuff that you can do
- 0:37Speaker 2: like this, like car.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Insurance, life insurance, different type of service-based industry because I
- 0:43Speaker 1: feel like there's always an opportunity to make money on commissions.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And if I was dead broke, I would call my friends. Now,
- 0:53Speaker 1: this is important. I wouldn't call my friends to ask
- 0:56Speaker 1: them for money.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I would call my friends to tell them what I'm doing.
- 1:02Speaker 1: So when I started in financial services, it's called Project 100,
- 1:06Speaker 1: where you list 100 people that you know. Everybody, your friend,
- 1:10Speaker 1: your friend's parents, your kid you went to college with,
- 1:13Speaker 1: somebody you played basketball with, everybody.
- 1:15Speaker 2: This is your network of people, right?
- 1:17Speaker 1: So I would reach out to every single person that
- 1:21Speaker 1: I know and tell them what I'm doing and try
- 1:27Speaker 1: to actually sell them products.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Like I said, I mean, I can only speak for
- 1:32Speaker 2: personal experience. It's what I actually did.
- 1:33Speaker 4: In real life.
- 1:34Speaker 1: And then from there, I would hone in on my
- 1:39Speaker 1: referrals and get referred to those people that they know
- 1:44Speaker 1: all while reinvesting the profits, living in as low cost
- 1:50Speaker 1: environment as possible. If living with your parents is an option,
- 1:52Speaker 1: then that's a good option. If whatever, right in the room,
- 1:55Speaker 1: whatever you got to do. not spending money on overhead,
- 1:58Speaker 1: reinvesting the money. Social media will come, but I will
- 2:01Speaker 1: focus on social media afterwards. But I feel that the
- 2:09Speaker 1: business aspect is the most important aspect first because you
- 2:12Speaker 1: have to generate money to actually get into the groove
- 2:15Speaker 1: of actually being able to invest. And a lot of
- 2:18Speaker 1: people are like, well, what kind of business should I start?
- 2:20Speaker 1: Like I said, there's always room for a service-based business.
- 2:22Speaker 1: There's always going to be somebody that's going to have
- 2:24Speaker 1: to sell you car insurance. There's always going to be
- 2:26Speaker 1: somebody that's going to have to sell life insurance. There's
- 2:29Speaker 1: always going to be somebody that's, you know, in that
- 2:32Speaker 1: type of vein, health insurance, whatever it is. There's always money.
- 2:37Speaker 1: There's always money to be made in a very short
- 2:39Speaker 1: period of time. You don't have to go to college
- 2:40Speaker 1: for these type of situations. And that's what I would do. So,
- 2:45Speaker 1: but what would you do?
- 2:49Speaker 4: Same as you.
- 2:49Speaker 5: I can only talk from personal experience. First, you have
- 2:53Speaker 5: to build a business because the highest returns that you're
- 2:54Speaker 5: going to get. that are going to outpace the market
- 2:58Speaker 5: for sure is by starting your own business. After that,
- 3:00Speaker 5: you got to pick a number, 50%, 60% and put
- 3:03Speaker 5: it into long-term.
- 3:06Speaker 4: That takes care of your future number.
- 3:08Speaker 5: So an important caveat is that too, and I know
- 3:12Speaker 5: people hate when I say this, you have to stay
- 3:14Speaker 5: your ass inside doors. It costs a lot of money
- 3:17Speaker 5: to be outside. People don't want to do it, and
- 3:20Speaker 5: I get it because you are thinking about now. But
- 3:23Speaker 5: I look back at all those seasons that I missed
- 3:26Speaker 5: of going to games. Oh, I get to have a
- 3:28Speaker 5: ball and do with it how I want to now.
- 3:30Speaker 5: And then third, you got to hit that futures market.
- 3:33Speaker 5: You got to pick a target that if your life
- 3:35Speaker 5: is on the line, this is the target that I'm
- 3:38Speaker 5: going to use to be able to hit. And Red Panda,
- 3:41Speaker 5: you know what that target is. But the three for
- 3:44Speaker 5: me is start a business. Two, puts 50 or 60%
- 3:48Speaker 5: of the money into stocks long term.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Third, trade futures.
- 3:51Speaker 5: And if I can add a fourth, find a way
- 3:54Speaker 5: to help other people first and get them a result
- 3:57Speaker 5: so they can then come back and then pay me.
- 3:59Speaker 5: The reason why I started with the yes and Chad
- 4:01Speaker 5: and started on social media back in 2016, 2017, just
- 4:05Speaker 5: giving away for free. If I help you make money first,
- 4:10Speaker 5: I'll be able to call that favor back upon you later.
- 4:12Speaker 5: So I wouldn't do anything different, but it's really important
- 4:14Speaker 5: to the other part of this question is to never
- 4:17Speaker 5: get back to the point where you're starting from scratch.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Timing is important to some of this. Like, Intel never
- 4:25Speaker 5: thought they would lose that lead. And because they didn't
- 4:28Speaker 5: keep reinvesting into the business and keep innovating, now you
- 4:32Speaker 5: have five other players that are light years ahead of you.
- 4:36Speaker 5: Just because you were able to do it one time
- 4:39Speaker 5: does not mean that you are able to do it again.
- 4:41Speaker 5: Sometimes timing, luck, and market fit is really important.
- 4:48Speaker 4: When we first started doing the show, nobody black was
- 4:50Speaker 4: talking about investing. Now it's boys. Soiree. Cool. That's why
- 4:56Speaker 4: what Mav is doing is so smart.
- 4:58Speaker 5: Mav just, I'm going to tell you a thing, run
- 5:02Speaker 5: the billy up. Then I'll tell you about it once
- 5:04Speaker 5: I'm at eight billy in the book come out. That's
- 5:07Speaker 5: my new move for 25 to 35. The next couple
- 5:10Speaker 5: of plays y'all see publicly decoys.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Never tell you the real play. Y'all going to see
- 5:15Speaker 4: me snowboarding. Cool. Keyshawn White on the hills. Cool. Y'all
- 5:21Speaker 4: never tell you the real place. Sorry, you fucked it up. Sorry, Brandon. Damn.
- 5:25Speaker 2: We got to talk about the snowboarding play, too. Your
- 5:28Speaker 2: comments was going crazy.
- 5:29Speaker 4: They wasn't happy about that.
- 5:31Speaker 2: It's not that they wasn't happy. They were a little surprised.
- 5:33Speaker 2: They were a little surprised with you. A little surprised.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I'll go with the.
- 5:39Speaker 4: A little surprised.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Why?
- 5:40Speaker 4: Surprised at me? Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I'm happy. I was happy for you, my brother. Shout
- 5:48Speaker 3: out to Edwin. Me and Edwin was both happy.
- 5:49Speaker 2: We got to pop out and show him.
- 5:53Speaker 5: I'll take the approach. On top of that, then speed
- 5:57Speaker 5: matters in execution. We talk about a hero on blackout,
- 6:02Speaker 5: but speed matters.
- 6:03Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 6:04Speaker 4: And a good investment.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You mean like to lock something down? What do you mean?
- 6:10Speaker 2: That's crazy. No, I'm just asking.
- 6:14Speaker 4: We'll go further in detail in blackout. I was going
- 6:17Speaker 4: to say. Perfect. If we're talking personal stories, like, yeah, yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Mine would be like, find a job that you can
- 6:26Speaker 3: create multiple streams from. And so like, yeah, everybody hears
- 6:29Speaker 3: the story of like, yo, I was a phys ed teacher.
- 6:30Speaker 3: But before I was ever that, I was a hall monitor, bro.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Like I was the guy sitting in the hallway, reading books,
- 6:37Speaker 3: telling kids to go to class, checking for hall passes.
- 6:40Speaker 3: While I was doing that, I was a tutor, right?
- 6:42Speaker 3: I'm trying to find another stream. While I was doing that,
- 6:45Speaker 3: I was coaching. While I was doing that, I was
- 6:47Speaker 3: running after-school programs. While I was doing that, I was
- 6:50Speaker 3: running summer programs. I had different streams of income. Not
- 6:54Speaker 3: only was I getting paid for doing, it wasn't even much,
- 6:57Speaker 3: but to be working in a school because I just
- 6:59Speaker 3: wanted to have experience working in schools.
- 7:01Speaker 4: I created multiple streams.
- 7:02Speaker 3: From just that, which allowed me to put some money
- 7:05Speaker 3: into investing. Obviously, as my career changed and I became
- 7:08Speaker 3: a teacher, then obviously, I still had those streams, but
- 7:11Speaker 3: it was like, all right, now there's more money to invest.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Then creating a business because I had enough To say,
- 7:15Speaker 3: all right, well, I have this career. I can go
- 7:17Speaker 3: venture off in the world of entrepreneurism.
- 7:20Speaker 4: That helps as well.
- 7:21Speaker 3: But, like, figure out how you're going to create multiple
- 7:23Speaker 3: streams from where you're at.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Right?
- 7:25Speaker 2: For sure.
- 7:26Speaker 4: And it could be, like I said, hall monitor. No joke.
- 7:28Speaker 4: And don't disrespect anybody that's a hall monitor. I was that.
- 7:31Speaker 2: You can create multiple streams.
