- 0:22I'm your host Leanne, and I'm alone this week, but not alone.
- 0:27Lauren is not joining us this week, but that's because we have
- 0:30two very special amazing. Guest my dear friends, Derek and
- 0:34Corey, welcome to the show. Hello.
- 0:38Thank you. We're so excited to be here.
- 0:40Yes, we are. And the reason why you guys are
- 0:42joining us, not just because you're fabulous and you're my
- 0:45besties but we just got done being and having a stay on the
- 0:51galactic star Cruiser and we had that three-day experience there
- 0:55and that's what this episode is going to be about.
- 0:57We're going to give you the rundown on how we got the room,
- 1:00what we thought of the experience, the hits the missus
- 1:02and everything in between. So before we get into that, how
- 1:07do we all know each other? Why do we love each other?
- 1:10Tell us the ways. Will you lead because I'm the
- 1:13third one in this group. It's true Derek and I have been
- 1:18friends for like 16 years, right?
- 1:20Yeah, I think so. Yeah.
- 1:22Take, but it's been a little bit less than 16 years that since we
- 1:27were. I think, since we started
- 1:29working together, guess who's here?
- 1:32Clarence Clarence. He's the fourth guest of this
- 1:35show as usual. But yeah, we've been, we know
- 1:40each, We work together and we've remained friends this entire
- 1:44time and we have been on some seriously.
- 1:46Cool Adventures. We've been to Comic-Con for many
- 1:48years together. Just Disney all day.
- 1:51Every day whenever we're together in Austin, 24-hour
- 1:56lines to see, Marvel and amazing.
- 2:00It's been so much fun and Corey another bestie.
- 2:05I'm just a bitch who makes the biscuits?
- 2:10Are we love you cannot hear. Here are we you your belly.
- 2:12You're allowed to do whatever you want on this show.
- 2:16No so I meant well, Derek is my now husband but I met him almost
- 2:2211 years ago this this November so and obviously I know you Liam
- 2:26through him and it's been yeah we've known each other for, you
- 2:30know, ten years, ten, ten or nine or ten years.
- 2:34And I remember when we first met, but and we are Birthday,
- 2:37Twins or birthday. Neighbors for Neighbors.
- 2:40Yes. Yes, so there's a kindred spirit
- 2:43there for sure. There really is.
- 2:45And not only that Cory. You actually have your own
- 2:47podcast and you and your other two friends.
- 2:50Your co-host, your podcast is called Cinema pod, Rafi?
- 2:54Yes, yes, yes. Oh, my good friends.
- 2:57Justin and Brian, and I have a podcast as you just said called
- 3:01cinematography where we review, any movie that that we want and
- 3:06it's just just, we've called it like, are the new bowling
- 3:09league, right? We're there to have fun.
- 3:11It's nothing serious. It's literally just to have fun
- 3:14and enjoy talking about a movie. We watched that's it.
- 3:19Either's cocktails. And a lot of laughs.
- 3:21It's really fun. And it's made me want to watch
- 3:23some of the movies that I haven't seen.
- 3:25So mission accomplished. Oh good.
- 3:28So The star Cruiser. It was kind of a crazy
- 3:33experience. I have so many good memories
- 3:36from this with you guys and we weren't the only ones we had a
- 3:39group of seven. Greg, Dan Leslie, Christine and
- 3:43us three. So shout out to all of them.
- 3:45We had one hell of a good time on boring time.
- 3:48We'll all Big Star Wars fans and you know, we just we loved it.
- 3:53Yeah, this is perfect for us. It was and I went into it.
- 3:57Spoiler-free I didn't look at anything or I tried not to, I
- 4:01know a few things. Not me not you Derek is always
- 4:06prepared. I'm the planner so I have to
- 4:09know everything although I did a really good job about so any of
- 4:14the show elements stuff like I stayed away from but when it
- 4:17came to like what tips and things ahead of time would help
- 4:21us out because you are spending a lot of money on this
- 4:25experience and you want to get your money's worth.
- 4:28So you know I wanted to you know make sure that I had that
- 4:32information. Nation and I could, you know,
- 4:33share it with everyone and I was happy that you all were
- 4:36spoiler-free and I could do that for you you know.
- 4:40And thank you and I mean I think at the end of the day you sort
- 4:42of were able to live vicariously through us.
- 4:44Watching our first initial reactions to it and we all had
- 4:49very different reactions throughout the entire three
- 4:51days. And we did, we'll get, we'll get
- 4:57to that. Let's talk about how we actually
- 4:59got the room. Well, first of all, we have to
- 5:01thanks. Seeing who traveled with us?
- 5:03Because she had a travel agent and she's like, why don't you
- 5:07use my travel agent to help book this?
- 5:10And oh my God. I'm so glad we did because we,
- 5:13we booked on the very first day that you could as an annual pass
- 5:16holder or for me and Corey. So she was on the phone lines
- 5:22for that long. It was several hour.
- 5:24Wait, I think it was to get something book but her name is
- 5:28Jo vagos. I hope I pronounce that
- 5:30correctly. Yeah, yeah.
- 5:32A Big O's to me. Yeah, when Jo VA G OS and she
- 5:38works for the Magic For Less, so she's awesome.
- 5:41She really helped us out and got us everything that we needed to
- 5:46get booked for that star. Cruiser trick it.
- 5:49What I was really impressed with from her from a level of service
- 5:51was she was engaged from the minute, we inquired to pretty
- 5:56much the day, we boarded the ship and the other was not like,
- 5:59okay, cool, I've done my job, get a life, it was truly.
- 6:02You know, from start to finish. Yes, she was great.
- 6:06And we definitely want to thank her for her work.
- 6:09I mean, that day, of the booking we were all on our group chat
- 6:12like nervous. Like May the force be with us
- 6:15like, you know, worrying about it and then the news came and we
- 6:18got it and not only that we got a seat at the Captain's Table.
- 6:21The first night we were there which was really special and one
- 6:24of them was. So thank you, Joe and thank you
- 6:28for saying yes and Christine First Impressions.
- 6:32We were we got there. We had stayed on universal
- 6:36grounds for the two days prior and then we took our cars and
- 6:39went over to where the star Cruisers located and there's a
- 6:42bit of a line outside but not uncomfortable.
- 6:44You're in the shade. They provide you water, they
- 6:46give you your magic bands. Very nice comfortable.
- 6:50Yeah, I would say it was a very seamless check-in process, very
- 6:54if you've ever been on a cruise it's very similar in the sense
- 6:58that your luggage is sort of tagged and bagged right at the
- 7:01Right. When you arrive and you won't
- 7:03see it again until you hit your room.
- 7:05So, which was very nice to lay, you have la which is all
- 7:08included and it was really nice to just arrived have this
- 7:12conversation. As far as you know.
- 7:13Where's your bags going? X?
- 7:14Y&z get your magic band and then you're literally ready to
- 7:18experience. What is in front of you?
- 7:19Yeah. Yeah.
- 7:21And the second, they let you in, it's the beginning of your
- 7:24experience. Like, there's once you're in,
- 7:28you're in it. And when we say in it, you will
- 7:30become part. Out of the storyline which
- 7:32unfolds and, and we'll get into that in more detail.
- 7:34But it was really cool. And like Corey said seamless
- 7:37just getting there getting in taking care of the technical,
- 7:41like baggage cars, Etc. And when she says technical
- 7:44baggage, she means. I mean I had a William Sonoma
- 7:46shopping bag with vanilla extract and other things that
- 7:49it's so. Like limit that was tagged in
- 7:51back in arrived in my room on the Surfers are.
- 7:53So he really did a great job with that.
- 7:55They sure did. And we were allowed to bring
- 7:56liquor and we did we had a toast when we got in the room.
- 7:59Yeah, it was great. And I'm going to just mention a
- 8:02quick Pro tip for the beginning, if you are going soon or booking
- 8:07and when you have your first day, you can check in as early
- 8:12as well. They say, you can check in as
- 8:15early as one, but let me tell you, people are there earlier.
- 8:18So they were, we just took a chance and I'm kind of breaking
- 8:23a rule of Comic-Con here. We're done early, you line up
- 8:28because then people just keep on lining up earlier.
- 8:30But We I think we got there a little after 11:30 and there are
- 8:35already groups in front of us. So and being there early and
- 8:40getting in early is the best thing you can do because it just
- 8:43maximizes your time, you know, the hotel.
- 8:46Well, I wish. Yeah.
- 8:49And I think, with that to, that's what allowed our, our
- 8:52luggage to arrive at her room. By the time we walked in, right?
- 8:55We walked in at noon and it was in our room because they had
- 8:58already had a chance to. Are we watching it one?
- 8:59I guess and we had Chance was already there so which was
- 9:02great. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:04And so they do bag check, you know, security walk through
- 9:07metal detector, that sort of thing.
- 9:08And then you forget you're even in like Derek said not a hotel,
- 9:13it's kind of exactly. Like you're in a ship, they
- 9:17start you on level 6 to make you feel like you're down in the
- 9:21ship itself and then everything that takes place while you're on
- 9:25board and in the experience is like levels, five and four.
- 9:28So they give you the impression or like this brain rain T's of
- 9:32like, you're going down further into the ship, which I don't
- 9:34even know if we were above ground below ground.
- 9:36No idea because all of your windows on board, look out at
- 9:40space and that was really cool. So, you walk into the room and
- 9:47your main window. I guess out into the world is
- 9:50literally looking out your ship at the planets.
- 9:54I think it was Coruscant and chandrila or Shangri-La or
- 9:58Shangela. And croissant, it was great
- 10:04names. And at this point, I just want
- 10:07to say to because if anybody sitting is sitting listening
- 10:10going, oh, that sounds way too. Claustrophobic for me one, I can
- 10:13understand even though I'm not claustrophobic, I can understand
- 10:16but to there is something called the climate chamber, which is
- 10:21essentially an outdoor space. You can't see anything but the
- 10:25sky really, but it does give you a chance to experience what the
- 10:28climate of Earth would be like. Well, not on Earth.
- 10:33Well, no, I forgot everything and let's, let's just not
- 10:35confuse people like it is Earth here like you're going outside
- 10:39in Florida to experience the weather but correct radically
- 10:42for the storyline you're experiencing.
- 10:45I think when that what they said it was is supposed to experience
- 10:48the climate of about to which you're going to be going.
- 10:51Yeah on to that planet. Sure on your second day so and
- 10:58usually it's pretty hot. Yeah.
- 11:01So, there is there's a chance for you to get this area songs.
- 11:03There's some chance for you, to get some air, and see some
- 11:05light, if this all sounds a little claustrophobic.
- 11:09Yeah. And it was modeled in the way of
- 11:11like a meditation Garden. So it was, it was peaceful out
- 11:14there. It wasn't just like a porch.
- 11:16You didn't just walk out onto a deck.
- 11:18We're like, okay, there's the parking lot, it was done.
- 11:20Well, it wasn't a Smokers Lounge, either, like actually
- 11:26good point. And my first impression was just
- 11:31Wow, once you get done with the check-in process for lack of a
- 11:34better term, they put you on this pod that is supposed to
- 11:39take you to the ship but really it's just like a in between
- 11:42point where they close you in there.
- 11:44They show a little video of you of your little pod going to the
- 11:50ship itself. Yeah there's some windows that
- 11:53are there's some slits that are supposed to look like Windows
- 11:56that have projections to Leon's blank that that show it look
- 11:59like you're blasting off into Outer space, right?
- 12:03So it's not just here. You are, welcome to the star
- 12:06Cruiser, it's a whole experience.
- 12:08And when they open the door, as you go into the atrium, which is
- 12:12mind-boggling, how well done and how clean, and how on point for
- 12:17Star Wars, it was like top to bottom.
- 12:21Yeah, it was beautiful and, you know, I'm I'm sure a lot of
- 12:27people saw, like some of the original promo videos.
- 12:31Those for this experience and they were, let's say very
- 12:36underwhelming and so they, the, the promoter, the PR department,
- 12:42or whoever you want to say is like, trying to like advertise
- 12:46this, they did not do a very good job at the beginning.
- 12:50So, you know, it was so much more fantastic than you know,
- 12:56what? I even expected after seeing
- 12:58some of the videos. It was it was great and it's
- 13:00too. Worries, which we weren't
- 13:02allowed to go up into the top story, which makes sense after
- 13:05you go through the entire experience and you see what the
- 13:08grand finale is, but it gave the sense that when the captain came
- 13:12out and the other players, the cast members came out, they
- 13:16stood above you and addressed you down in the atrium and it
- 13:19was, it was wonderful. You could hear them, it gave you
- 13:21clear view, no matter where you were in The Atrium.
- 13:23And I think there were about 300 400 passengers, but it didn't,
- 13:27like we said, it never felt cramped and never felt
- 13:29overwhelming. None of that.
- 13:31And it was only there was only a handful of times across the span
- 13:35of two days that we were all in that Atrium together.
- 13:39And, and to her point, we, it never felt the crowded, so,
- 13:43which was really great. Yeah, yeah.
- 13:47And I think it's, I think the capacity is people were saying
- 13:51like, it can be, like, around 100 to all.
- 13:54There's 100 rooms, I believe. So I think you have up to like,
- 13:58maybe 400 500 as Max. You're most likely not going to
- 14:02be filling out now. Every meds going to be thrown in
- 14:05every exactly. Yeah.
- 14:07So let's talk about a room because it was amazing.
- 14:09That's when I kind of lost it. When we got to the room I
- 14:13totally geeked out. Derek put on the Star Wars
- 14:15music. It was a whole thing.
- 14:18We did our toast with champagne and it was it was like real at
- 14:21that. Yeah.
- 14:21Why don't you guys share your room since you had the sweet?
- 14:24Yes. So we had two rooms and Derek
- 14:26and I and Leslie and Christine stayed in the suite, which had
- 14:29like a living Ria living room. If you will a bedroom, a very
- 14:34large bathroom, very, very spacious shower.
- 14:38Yes. And kind of people can fit in
- 14:40the shower. Now I have five people in two
- 14:43droids and we had a Droid in the room we did and we'll get to her
- 14:50but Cory and Dan and Greg stayed in the room right next to us.
- 14:56Thank God, they put us right next to each other.
- 14:58We book together, under two separate names, but they put our
- 15:01rooms right next to each other. It was perfect.
- 15:03We were kind of worried that might not happen.
- 15:04Think they have like a group code that they can use when
- 15:07you're booking it to know that this entire group is together.
- 15:11But we wanted to do two Suites initially.
- 15:15But then I found out that in this ship on the ship.
- 15:21There's only four Suites total, really.
- 15:25No, I didn't know that. Well, for of the sweets that we
- 15:27were looking for. There's two, I think of the
- 15:29captain sweets, but which Richard harder and bigger, which
- 15:32is almost, as kind of like combining a standard room and
- 15:34dress, the Galaxy Suite that we were in, but so very limited
- 15:39availability. And so we were just lucky enough
- 15:42to get one and luckily again, the standard State room was
- 15:49right next door because we had a party of seven.
- 15:50So yeah, we want A space that we could all hang out.
- 15:54And that living room space in the suite was kind of perfect.
- 15:57Yeah. And we met the other day.
- 15:58We wouldn't have needed to sweets because we were all in
- 16:01there in one or we were out or we were in bed, right?
- 16:04And so for the other room for the standard room has standard
- 16:07queen bed. I mean, I would say is the
- 16:09configuration was very much of a standard hotel room as far as
- 16:12the layout, obviously, the finishes and you know, interior
- 16:17design of the room was of course on point with everything else in
- 16:21the ship. Ship.
- 16:22But they're really cool feature in that room was there's the
- 16:24queen bed and then sort of bunk bed style but think of it as
- 16:29sort of to almost sort of enclosed on seven of the eight
- 16:35sides, I guess. So kind of like an open box on
- 16:38one end but it was not claustrophobic at all.
- 16:41There were still a lot of room and a lot of room to move around
- 16:43but it had a very cozy feel to it which is really neat.
- 16:47Yeah. And then there were a lot of
- 16:49bigger especially if they are standing room when Would
- 16:52videotape it and show it online. It looked a lot smaller agree
- 16:58than what actually was when you were there.
- 17:02Yeah, and we had two adult people sleeping in there.
- 17:05Comfortably, plenty of room to move, plenty of room to sit up.
- 17:10Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:12And the looks of it. I mean, I felt like I was in
- 17:15Star Wars and that's what I wanted, and even just the door
- 17:18to get in the room as a pocket door, that was sort of a Door on
- 17:22a ship, you know, it wasn't just, oh, rinder door, just
- 17:24everything down to your place of finishes down to the door
- 17:28itself. Was great.
- 17:29Yeah, yeah. And the lights, the she's even,
- 17:34the coffee table was everything. Yeah, I mean, it was just on
- 17:39point. And I will say, I didn't think
- 17:42the beds were that comfortable. I'm not going to praise
- 17:44everything on board, you know, we'll get to the hits and misses
- 17:47but one of the missus for my book is nothing was that
- 17:49comfortable. The couch was The couch is very
- 17:52comfortable spacious again, and let's just point out this.
- 17:56There were plenty of outlets, plenty of charging units.
- 17:59They understood what people needed and you had to use your
- 18:02phone the entire time you were there because it was quote, your
- 18:05data pad to help you carry out your personal missions while
- 18:08you're on board and you had to charge your phone pretty often.
- 18:11I mean, if you were on it as much as you were and there was
- 18:14no lack of like, man, I wish there was another Outlet.
- 18:17Why don't they have more Outlets?
- 18:18No, you never had to ask for that.
- 18:20That was fine. Agreed.
- 18:23Yeah, I'm going back to your comment about the beds.
- 18:25I think it's kind of interesting because and this is something we
- 18:28really didn't know since we booked this experience before.
- 18:31All the information was kind of given to us that the Galaxy
- 18:36sweet setup for beds was a lot more Awkward or just weirdly
- 18:41placed. Then a standard room would have
- 18:44been, we had four people staying in there and and the Galaxy
- 18:48sweet. You had one pull down bed off.
- 18:51All in the living room area and then one in the bedroom and then
- 18:56the queen bed and no bunk beds. So it was kind of like and not
- 19:01to say I can't I was spoiled and I got the big green back, the
- 19:09queen got the queen bed, gets the big queen bed, so, Allison
- 19:14up is comfortable, but I've heard from everybody else that
- 19:19the others were not quite so much.
- 19:21Yeah, I think they could have done like a pull-out couch in
- 19:24the living room. And in the pulldown bed out
- 19:26there to where, like, you literally have to separate
- 19:28rooms, but otherwise, you're living have three people
- 19:30sleeping in one room and one person sleeping in the other.
- 19:33Yeah, that's our first impression of the room.
- 19:36What did you think of the mess hall?
- 19:38The cafeteria /, dining room /. Everything as, as the as the
- 19:44foodie on this podcast right now.
- 19:46The the the aesthetic of it all was fantastic.
- 19:50It was, it was great. It was Well, executed, the
- 19:52Captain's Table to shape the configuration to placement.
- 19:55All that was wonderful. I will say the food was good.
- 20:00I was not blown away by the food.
- 20:02I I was a little shocked at how asian-inspired all of the food
- 20:07was not that I have anything against that it just was not.
- 20:11I was expecting a little bit more variety and a little bit
- 20:14more out of the box. Type thinking with what was
- 20:18served. I will say that they did a very
- 20:21good job. The chef did a very good job,
- 20:23coming up with ways to make it seem Galactic, not anything.
- 20:28They took something as pedestrian as macaroni and
- 20:30cheese and chicken nuggets, and turned it into something that
- 20:34was space inspired, you know. Sure.
- 20:37It's my favorite thing that was really good like lame because
- 20:45it's like, Really out of everything.
- 20:48It's just a mac and cheese, but the mac and cheese.
- 20:50I mean, I've had a lot of different Disney mac and cheese
- 20:54and for whatever reason, this one was so delicious.
- 20:56Yeah, no lie. And I think you hit, I think you
- 20:58hit the nail on the head. Is that everything was
- 21:00creatively executed, for sure. Yes.
- 21:03You sure like the peanut butter and jelly dessert was like a
- 21:06puff ball that looked like a mushroom That Grew on Felucia?
- 21:09Like it was they kept the theme going?
- 21:12No matter what. Yeah, and I was very happy to
- 21:15see that in even in space They had Sweet'N Low.
- 21:17So if you're a country that wants to look a little or an
- 21:20iced tea drinker with sweet little, they have all that
- 21:22stuff, they're not, everything is very strange.
- 21:24There's very, you know, Coca-Cola products.
- 21:26You know what I mean? Which I spilled coffee all over
- 21:30the. I was that person but I was
- 21:32happy to see that the next day. Someone else was that person?
- 21:34Listen listen the ship, hit some turbulence, and what are you
- 21:37gonna do? They didn't have the Travelers
- 21:41the ter. Bus' in an outer space?
- 21:44Your good girl? No.
- 21:45And they didn't have a Droid clean it up.
- 21:46A nice person who I apologize to profusely.
- 21:48So the food, I'd have to agree with Corey generally is that I
- 21:53wasn't really Blown Away by it was good.
- 21:57And actually, out of my personal opinion, the best meal of the
- 22:02day was lunch for both days. I think that, yes, I do.
- 22:06I think that's where the best food was, and the dinners were a
- 22:12little bit more Awkward because we had seven people.
- 22:16Oil. And so they were coming out with
- 22:21our orders for like that. Was it supposed to be shared
- 22:24family, but family style. But these family-style meal
- 22:28should be like shared between really two people because they
- 22:31were like giving the same amount to like the other couples that
- 22:34were at. Our captain be edible.
- 22:35Yeah. And now here so you get two
- 22:38people are sharing one. Two people sharing one and then
- 22:41they weren't going to bring out a third.
- 22:42Yeah, it and it was like, but then three people are sure.
- 22:46Yeah. It's like people didn't get
- 22:47equal amounts of food. No, that's a, that's a really
- 22:49good point and I think that's and I think they would have had
- 22:52we made a big enough stink about it, but it, we should have never
- 22:55had to do that. It should have just been a
- 22:57standard to your point. If it's two people, they get
- 23:00one. If it's three people, they get
- 23:01to because there needs to be enough and, and correct, and it
- 23:04just, it just almost seems like, when we ask for another one, it
- 23:08almost seemed like the, well, we don't normally do that but we'll
- 23:11go ahead and do it, which is very unlike a cruise like on a
- 23:15different inclusive. Hell yeah.
- 23:17Like if you go on a Disney cruise, I'm sure any cruise.
- 23:20But I have a lot of experience on Disney Cruises and they're
- 23:23like they're just coming out with more food that you didn't
- 23:26even ask for their like, oh try this trap.
- 23:28And so it seemed very weird that it was like, almost kind of hard
- 23:33to get more from for the dinners anyways.
- 23:36Yeah, it was nice dinners. Yeah, yeah, I like a traditional
- 23:41Full Table service but I didn't mind the family style because it
- 23:45truly everything was kind of At once you can pick and choose as
- 23:47you wanted if you wanted more of something than great.
- 23:50If not, then so be it. I want to take a quick step back
- 23:53though. To I loved the trays that they
- 23:56used for the breakfast and lunch service.
- 23:58Thank goodness. It was a way.
- 24:00It was a way to make it fun but also have some level of portion
- 24:06control because sometimes let's be honest in America.
- 24:08When you see a buffet people load or load and overload their
- 24:12tray and what was neat about these trays was they were sort
- 24:14of like a Bento Box Style. Owl with these sort of defined
- 24:19compartments to wear. What you were getting was, was
- 24:22different shapes, but they all fit on the tray.
- 24:25So, you could do two small squares or one long rectangle,
- 24:28and it would all fit in the same space, but it was very well
- 24:31executed and very fun. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:35And for, you know, for the Captain's Table, we actually got
- 24:40to speak to the captain. Who was a pan Turin, female, she
- 24:43was great. She knew her shit.
- 24:44I was grilling her a little bit, not Not like grilling her
- 24:47aggressively but like yes, conversationally and she knew
- 24:52for all the Star Wars fans out there.
- 24:53She knew who Rio chuchi was. Okay.
- 24:55So that's like that's like test exam.
- 24:58Number one, she passed number two.
- 25:01She had background stories about her father.
- 25:03She had, you know, all of these things that added to her being a
- 25:07true character in the story. Yeah.
- 25:09And her execution was Flawless. Yes.
- 25:12Thank you. That's exactly what I was gonna
- 25:13say. She did it, it wasn't like a
- 25:15script. It was Just part of her dialogue
- 25:18and it made it feel like we were actually speaking to the captain
- 25:20of a ship who's been flying it. She knew Leia Organa.
- 25:23You know she knew this and that and how she came up in the ranks
- 25:26and that's how she became the captain of this ship and it gave
- 25:30some authenticity to it which was really cool for a nerd like
- 25:34myself. So just someone who isn't right?
- 25:37I mean and you know I'm out of this group, one of the fewer
- 25:41people that I don't dislike Star Wars but I'm not the true fan,
- 25:45right? I can enjoy it.
- 25:46Our, I can enjoy it for what it is, Derek's different levels to,
- 25:50because, sure, I know the movies and, you know, much more beyond
- 25:57that every so yeah, like pretty much everything.
- 26:01Well now, if Lauren was here, I know less than Lawrence though,
- 26:04case because I'm Star Wars knowledge.
- 26:09But I mean, we had all kinds in our group like you said Cory and
- 26:13what would you say you felt about, you know, the characters.
- 26:16And the story that played out oh well I mean I just think
- 26:19everybody was so well executed and spoke with confidence and it
- 26:24wasn't to me it was so believable.
- 26:27I literally felt like I was watching the movie and they just
- 26:29plucked these folks out and plop them into the star Cruiser.
- 26:32It didn't feel like these actors trying to make it big or like
- 26:38overacting and being ridiculous kit.
- 26:39Truly, just felt genuine authentic and sincere and
- 26:45everybody had such An air of confidence in what they were
- 26:50doing and who they were? Yeah, well, speaking of
- 26:53confidence, let's give some props to Gaia our resident
- 26:58twi'lek performer. She was amazing.
- 27:02She was fan tastic. Yeah.
- 27:04And not only that, but we got her almost to break character
- 27:07Corey. Yes, the Killer is the best at
- 27:11getting really, isn't? This is to break character
- 27:15because it Here's the thing, here's the thing, it's not like
- 27:18a game that I'm like, trying to do but the reality is that like
- 27:21I know I can do it to some degree.
- 27:23So like, why not? Right and so connect, can I move
- 27:26ahead to tell what my what my outfit was and what, Holly?
- 27:30So we're all dressed. And I, of course, those who
- 27:33follow most things Kenobi on Twitter and on Instagram, some
- 27:37of my outfits were revealed but I haven't, I haven't shared your
- 27:40pictures. Yeah, sure.
- 27:42And you please feel free to do so.
- 27:45So, so going And the point that I was not the the true fan on
- 27:49this is I wasn't trying to be a Debbie Downer, but I also wasn't
- 27:52going to go out and like spend all this money on Con on apparel
- 27:56that I'm likely to never wear again.
- 27:58X y&z, welcome to find out that everyone else in our group was
- 28:02going out, and being a participant, and I was like,
- 28:04well, I'm happy to do, so I just wasn't originally planning to
- 28:06because I didn't expect everyone in our group to do so.
- 28:09So anyway, fast forward. I know there's a captain's
- 28:13dinner and I already had some ideas and I was like, you know,
- 28:18I was like, I had I have a pair of gold, like sort of glittery
- 28:23stilettos that actually fit from a from a previous previous
- 28:27Crews. I'll leave it at that.
- 28:29And anyways, so I had put this look together black jeans.
- 28:33This black sort of flowy kind of shirt these heels, Black
- 28:37sunglasses Nails, gold and nude nails.
- 28:40And anyway, long story short, that's what I wore.
- 28:43The captain's dinner, Gaia had, you know, been around me.
- 28:46And, you know, we had made eyes and whatnot.
- 28:49And then the next night we had actually had a moment to chat
- 28:53with her in the, the lounge, the Star Lounge.
- 28:56I think it was. And I said, she said something
- 28:59and I was like, oh, do you remember seeing me?
- 29:01She goes, oh, I remember seeing you the nails?
- 29:03The he had those, I remember a look or something like that, and
- 29:07I said, well, you know, I said, it's because it's Intergalactic
- 29:10and the minute I said that she laughed like, like her head was
- 29:13like, she didn't say, I gotta go, but she dismissed herself.
- 29:16Very Quickly like that was that was the moment that I you know,
- 29:21got her to break a little bit. Yeah, she was, you know, the
- 29:24great part about this is that they don't just perform and then
- 29:27you don't see them again. They come around, they talk to
- 29:30you. They're part of the storyline
- 29:32and they're not imposing at all. The captain was very
- 29:36approachable. She told us a poem at the, at
- 29:38the Star lounge and it was I recorded.
- 29:42It was amazing. It was like heartfelt and about,
- 29:44you know, New Paths and they taught Us to buoy today, which
- 29:48is like cheers. Basically the other one side
- 29:53equal, your Cola a Diga Diga Cola, oh, and now we don't know
- 30:00what the co I know. I know, I know I know Cola is in
- 30:05there because that's the point I remember anyway.
- 30:08So while she's looking it up, no, but, uh, it was gonna say,
- 30:12you know, speaking of people being in character, it's not
- 30:15just The actors that are Central to the role of the story on the
- 30:21star Cruiser, the waiters everyone, bartenders the people
- 30:25that the people at the, the dustpans everybody, everybody is
- 30:31playing the story, and they're all characters.
- 30:34And, and the and the sense of that they're all going along
- 30:38with this story to make you feel as a murmur.
- 30:40Yeah, that's possible. Yes.
- 30:42Yes, yeah. And, and not only that, but we
- 30:44had a few interruptions at dinner.
- 30:46From the first order and the waiters and waitresses were like
- 30:50don't worry the security and safety of the cab.
- 30:53You know, the of the cabin here is is our top priority.
- 30:56I'm sure the first order won't, cause any more issues and you
- 30:59know, they just like little things like that.
- 31:01That kept the story going. And let me just say quite
- 31:04possibly my favorite actor or cast member on this ship was
- 31:09Lieutenant Croix, the main bad guy.
- 31:11If you know what a bad guy at all, he was a good guy.
- 31:15What do you mean? Our Lieutenant luck cry for our
- 31:18sparkling water fans out there. They have called him Lacroix
- 31:21once or twice. I have the phrase right now.
- 31:24Hang on. It's a team yet:.
- 31:27Not your Kula told you call it was in there.
- 31:29Yeah. Okay, Tema, your Cola.
- 31:32What was that something about the the Huts you had said that.
- 31:36Yeah, hot said that. Yeah.
- 31:37Which is kind of funny that they brought up hotties on the ship.
- 31:42Who the fuck like why I came out here:?
- 31:46Have any of these Hudson here. Like, oh my God.
- 31:51So speaking of waiters and waitresses we loved ours at the
- 31:55Cantina. She was amazing.
- 31:57What was her name? You got actually, got her number
- 31:59Corey. Yeah.
- 32:01Well, the lounge that way. They get her number, I got this
- 32:04second one's number, but but, you know, but so.
- 32:07So I want I want to bring something else that we said back
- 32:10to this moment is while we had all these folks on board Beyond
- 32:15being in the atrium, Mm combined at certain moments, there wasn't
- 32:18ever really another time that it felt busy.
- 32:21And I'm saying that in the sense, that any time, that our
- 32:24party of seven walked into the sublight lounge, we had a spot
- 32:29to sit. All said we didn't have to wait.
- 32:31It wasn't packed, it wasn't. I mean, and there's people in
- 32:34there. Don't get me wrong, but that's
- 32:35just how much space there was for everybody to move around and
- 32:38be doing kind of their own thing and so, anyway, but Crystal was
- 32:42the one that yes we had bought with Shout The crystal to
- 32:47Crystal. She was the other one that I
- 32:49made break character. Yes, she was.
- 32:51Listen, the she was amazing. The drinks were amazing.
- 32:55I mean, they even, they were all about Base by planets, you know,
- 32:59named after planets, they kept in theme.
- 33:03It's like our dinner the second night each dish represented, a
- 33:06planet, and that was really cool.
- 33:08So, I mean everything, top to bottom was pretty on point.
- 33:16Kashyyyk dare go know how to pronounce his cheek and he found
- 33:21out that night. And chewy was on board.
- 33:25We helped quote-unquote rescue him off board as part of the
- 33:28storyline. So, back to chewy, what no one
- 33:31saying on here is the fact that chewy had a Brazilian blowout
- 33:34before. He got on the before he got on
- 33:37the star Cruiser because I have some Fly Away things that were
- 33:41out of control. I don't know what was going on
- 33:43with. I told you Brazilian blogger
- 33:46land in but you because I'm telling you, I see we see chewy
- 33:50that too and he does not look like that.
- 33:53So So it looked like he he just woke up.
- 33:56Yeah, no, he got, he got himself ready for this trip.
- 34:02So that's true. We had Stormtroopers, we had
- 34:06kylo Ren. We had Ray and we didn't even
- 34:09know that they were on the ship until like the second or third
- 34:12day or whatever and when our story lines kind of played out
- 34:15and came to the grand finale that's when it was revealed that
- 34:19they were part of the story and it was really interesting.
- 34:23Because we had seven people all starting off at the same point
- 34:27in the story line and ending on completely different points.
- 34:30Yeah. And my take I tried to play Both
- 34:35Sides. I tried to be friendly with the
- 34:37first order talk to Lieutenant, Croix kind of get smoothie with
- 34:40them and then I would report back to, you know, the captain's
- 34:45helper or first first mate, I don't know what the term is, but
- 34:49I would give her information and then she'd be like, okay, we'll
- 34:51come talk to me later. I have information for you, You
- 34:53there for this and then we all had different missions that we
- 34:56had to accomplish when we went to Batu you know, off planet or
- 35:01off ship if you will and that played out but Derek Cory.
- 35:05You both had completely different story lines.
- 35:08Yeah. And and one thing I will say for
- 35:11anybody that does plan to go and do this experience is the first
- 35:16thing you need to remember, is the more you interact with these
- 35:21characters, the Better your experience will most likely be
- 35:26and you 100. Also, you need you need to be
- 35:30ready to start like right away. So we were, we boarded the ship.
- 35:34We were shown our room. And then I think the muster
- 35:38drill that they have, is that for.
- 35:40And from that moment, you're starting to talk to some of
- 35:43these people. And then, after the fact, you
- 35:46want to, you know, you just want to go around and talk to them as
- 35:49much as you can. And in also, Interact with
- 35:54things, like everything that you see that you can possibly
- 35:57interact with interact with and it will make sense.
- 36:00It will it will essentially, I think, I think if I had to say,
- 36:05I don't know, say a Miss. But like, I think that was
- 36:06probably the hardest part about all of it was getting started
- 36:10because, for example, Leslie in our group, interacted with
- 36:14something. And because she did all of a
- 36:16sudden, her datapad started to send her stuff, right?
- 36:18Well, because I gotta go, meanwhile, this the rest of
- 36:21their other six of us are looking at each other, Like
- 36:23okay, did we order another drink?
- 36:24Like you know and and going back to what Derek said about
- 36:27interacting you don't have to interact with other guests.
- 36:30They are not going to make your they're not going to like make
- 36:33your experience one way or the other.
- 36:36Like like the cast members that are on board of the ones that
- 36:39you you want to interact with and so anyway.
- 36:41So but the point is, if you're, if you're hitting a point that
- 36:44you're just, not sure how to do, or what to do, or where to go,
- 36:48just ask. And I mean, that in the sense
- 36:50that I literally asked I needed to pass, Password for something
- 36:53and I couldn't figure out. And I literally asked the girl
- 36:55with the dustpan, the like to help me and she looked, she
- 36:59looked at her, she looked at her friend with the broom.
- 37:02What hand does fan when of the broom at clearly it's not a
- 37:03two-person job but it is in outer space.
- 37:05But but she looked at him she's like, okay, listen like make
- 37:10sure nobody follows us like to Derek's Point earlier, is that
- 37:12everybody's in it? Like everybody plays an integral
- 37:15role. So don't be afraid to ask, don't
- 37:18be afraid to interact with things and have fun.
- 37:21Yeah, and when we went to Batu, We went to oghuz Cantina, the
- 37:25bartender's slipped us Clues to continue the story line.
- 37:29So even the people on, but to serving you at the Cantina,
- 37:34we're in on it. So it's and we had pins that
- 37:36said passenger on the house. Ian and we got in the lightning
- 37:40lines for the rides and we were served free alcohol and food and
- 37:45not at the Cantina. We had to pay for that but like
- 37:47you got one free alcoholic drink or any drink at all and one free
- 37:50meal, you know, Epi to. But everyone was in on On and
- 37:54you got to hack into some of the things throughout the park.
- 37:57We didn't go into any other part of Hollywood Studios, just the
- 37:59two, but we had our own entrance into the park and our own way of
- 38:03getting there which felt also like a ship.
- 38:05So yes. Yeah.
- 38:07And you're joining us here, I'm sorry.
- 38:10Okay, to have to talked about the BET to peace right now.
- 38:12Oh yeah what whatever you want to talk about because I
- 38:15definitely want to get to what Derek and I experienced at the
- 38:20end of our well basically your storyline Derek.
- 38:23Yeah. Just kind of let me piggyback
- 38:24and then the end of your story Cory.
- 38:26But do you want to share what you were impressed with about
- 38:29the transport from the Halcyon tuba to?
- 38:33Yeah, I thought that was really interesting and you know, again
- 38:36I know that people took pictures of it, you're basically getting
- 38:39onto a box truck. And so this box truck is taking
- 38:43you transporting you to Hollywood Studios the interior
- 38:46completely. Looks like a capital ship.
- 38:48You have no idea. You're getting it, Obama new
- 38:50walk on into it. It's seamless like you You don't
- 38:53even know that this is a truck that's taking you somewhere and
- 38:56you walk in and it looks like a little transport unit that's
- 38:59going to take you and they have some flashing lights through
- 39:05some of the events that make it look a little bit more, you
- 39:08know, realistic. And they have a Droid that's
- 39:11talking to you. You don't see the Droid but you
- 39:13get to hear him on the China over the speaker and he's
- 39:17talking to you on your way to bet you.
- 39:20Yeah. And you know, we did our time,
- 39:24did our time at Batu and had a really good time.
- 39:27Had a few drinks. I mean, it's early, you got back
- 39:30onto the Halcyon to continue your story line and it felt like
- 39:33it was 5:00 p.m., but you didn't know really what time of was you
- 39:36know, like when you're on board, you kind of forget because your
- 39:39face is either down to your data pad or walking and you're in the
- 39:43windows are outer space. So there is no you don't you
- 39:46have seen the sun rise and set you have no idea.
- 39:48Yeah, and as the storyline played out the first order,
- 39:51Actually takes over the ship, right?
- 39:53And so that the second morning when we woke up there were Tie
- 39:55fighters flying through space outside our ship in our window.
- 39:59So you knew something was going on like it.
- 40:02Even that the space out the window kind of progressed along
- 40:06with the story and we did have lightsaber training and we did
- 40:12baby. You did it in heels girl.
- 40:15Yeah, my I told you my look had, you know, heels for the
- 40:19captain's dinner and I didn't look Or I didn't know what the
- 40:22agenda looked like in the sense that it was that tight of a
- 40:25timeline because I was just gonna wear that outfit for
- 40:28dinner, come back change into my other outfit for the rest of the
- 40:30evening. And I told Derek that and he was
- 40:33like, girl, you ain't got time to change.
- 40:35I was like, oh, so literally I had to go straight to lightsaber
- 40:39training after dinner to where I'm in.
- 40:41There's photos that and please feel free to share them.
- 40:44I will and he deals with a lightsaber and press-on nails.
- 40:47And I told me on later I said, Leia, never even did this shit
- 40:50in heels. Also like, you know, just just
- 40:52saying, just select it first. It's a first.
- 40:56Yeah. And I enjoyed lightsaber
- 41:00training. I had it with Derek and Leslie
- 41:02and Christine, we were all part of that group, right?
- 41:04And that was fun. But it was it was you got to
- 41:08hear you out at the end, right? And he speaks to you about the
- 41:12forest and it kind of changes the lesson a little bit, but all
- 41:17of the trainers. What were their names?
- 41:18The Jedis Sasha They were in on the storyline as well.
- 41:24So, so all the sausages are kind of like, your are your, I mean,
- 41:31I don't think that they were Jedis themself.
- 41:34No. He said, they were like Jedi,
- 41:36lure. Studiers and so they were versed
- 41:38in Jedi lightsaber training, but they weren't Jedi, they just,
- 41:43but they are key to getting onto the forest path, which is the
- 41:48most difficult one to get. And so your interactions with
- 41:53them are important. And so I knew that ahead of time
- 41:59going onto the ship. And so immediately when I saw
- 42:02them, I started talking to. Well, you ended up on basically
- 42:07the Jedi path. That was where your storyline
- 42:10ended up. Yes.
- 42:12And no, I just just by pure chance, I was just talking to,
- 42:19you know, the crew. Director and the Sasha and oh
- 42:27God. What was the the Smugglers name
- 42:29wraith? Oh right?
- 42:31Yeah, yeah. So I just happen to keep hell.
- 42:34Yeah. I just kept on talking to them
- 42:36and interacting on the app with those characters on the data
- 42:40path. And so I continue to be on all
- 42:44three paths and it was smart enough to know, when I had
- 42:49something scheduled for 1:00, One of those paths to schedule
- 42:53me at another thing for one of the other paths and it wasn't
- 42:56like, you know, conflicting and kept him busy.
- 42:59And so I was on three different ones which I don't know if
- 43:04that's the best way to do it. But you know Corey had a very
- 43:09different experience doing just a singular path doing the first
- 43:14order. Well just to say that Dan and
- 43:17Greg, I think they did everything right to get on to
- 43:21The force Jedi path and it didn't end up there.
- 43:24So it's kind of by chance whether you play it correctly or
- 43:28not. Yeah, and core you ended up on a
- 43:31totally different path. Yes.
- 43:32And so so one of the pieces of advice that Derek had shared
- 43:36before we had boarded was it's better to take a singular path
- 43:42and Run Deep with it, instead of trying to spread yourself too
- 43:46thin and engage with everything. So so I would say another piece
- 43:50of advice is that so Okay to say no and why.
- 43:54So point is that I wasn't really getting.
- 43:56I was interacting I was getting some hits and what's really
- 44:00interesting about it is and I want I want to pause for one
- 44:04second because there's going to be folks listening who may go
- 44:06one day and who may not you do not have to interact on the dead
- 44:10a pad and be a part of this. If you don't want I will say
- 44:13that you're there isn't much else for you to do.
- 44:15If you're not going to do that you don't have to be a die-hard
- 44:20fan and you also don't Have to do everything they say.
- 44:22The reality is though. This experience is very much.
- 44:25You make of it what you want. If you want to be super involved
- 44:28in, say yes to everything, you can't write with that.
- 44:32It was Derek's point in that choosing multiple paths.
- 44:35They were smart about scheduling certain things.
- 44:38They were also very smart about not scheduling you or not
- 44:43prompting you during your dinner time, which I loved.
- 44:47Everybody is able to sit and enjoy.
- 44:49Nobody's, nobody's like all you gotta go.
- 44:51I have this problem to do so, so well props to to, to the folks
- 44:55who executed that. But, but yeah, so I wasn't
- 44:58really getting a lot that I was interested in and what's cool is
- 45:01that as the prompts the prompts or the communications come in?
- 45:04It's very yes I'm in. No I'm not or tell me more kind
- 45:09of is its kind of the general General I don't know, I'm kind
- 45:15of vibe, but I think you for each interaction.
- 45:17Anyway, so finally Lieutenant Kroy came onto my Came on to my
- 45:21pad and I was like, all right well I'm going to go ahead and
- 45:25find yes. And then I just kind of things
- 45:27were going well and I had some good personal interactions with
- 45:31him and was like, you know, I was like I don't think anyone
- 45:33else in our group is going down the first order path.
- 45:37I'm going to just go down this path and honestly I just I
- 45:39followed Eric's advice and went deep with it and kind of said,
- 45:42no to everything else that wasn't first order.
- 45:44And I didn't feel like I didn't have enough to do.
- 45:48I didn't feel like, oh, I should have engaged more.
- 45:50So I had more Or to do my schedule is still busy and I it
- 45:54was very fun like I told them at the end like I knew I was on a
- 45:57losing path like of course the first order is not going to be
- 46:01the you know, the ones out on top but it was still very fun
- 46:05and engaging that's because they made it that way.
- 46:08It wasn't. They were all just Lieutenant
- 46:12cry was amazing. He was funny and just enough of
- 46:15a petty bitch. Yeah believable.
- 46:17And while he's in while he's a villain, he was still very
- 46:21Approachable likeable, I mean, and and I and so, so to go kind
- 46:26of back to something that Derek said, was you want to interact
- 46:29and and it really is true because because I had had some
- 46:33interactions with him, he knew my name and so there was a
- 46:37moment when we were on the bridge training that he actually
- 46:40called me by name to help interact with something
- 46:42specifically. So, I would say, you know, if
- 46:45you're not comfortable with that step outside your comfort zone
- 46:49and, and it really will or could Could work to your advantage.
- 46:52I mean, I consider myself to be kind of reserved and a little
- 46:56bit more shy when it comes to those kind of things.
- 46:59But you know, I had heard so many people say that you just
- 47:03step outside your comfort zone and it will it all work out.
- 47:07Yeah. And I'm so glad I did because it
- 47:09was it was just so great getting to do so many things.
- 47:15And, and, you know, one of the things that is even great is
- 47:19that you don't have to be. Wanted to be told to be
- 47:23somewhere to, you know, to experience something.
- 47:26If you are just walking around that ship, then you are going to
- 47:30run into something. You didn't even think you were
- 47:32going to experience, right? And so, like, I walked out of
- 47:36dinner the first night, I think, and I just happened to see all
- 47:41of these people hiding chewy as he's walking through the
- 47:45hallway. And I was like, what is this?
- 47:47And so, I just went along with it.
- 47:48We type. Yeah, and they all turned and
- 47:50said, Well chewy has a 730 blow out of the salon so we're going
- 47:56to get to it. Looks so cool because it was
- 47:59just like it was you didn't know what surprises were around every
- 48:02corner and again you don't need to be invited to that party.
- 48:05If you want to join that group, go for it or in ask I mean there
- 48:09was times that I simply that's what it was.
- 48:11There was a moment with Lieutenant Croix and the captain
- 48:14and they were off to do something and I just said can I
- 48:17join you? And they were like absolutely
- 48:19Lieutenant crows like absolutely like your Like let's go, right?
- 48:22So absolutely ask just make yourself part of the story.
- 48:27Yeah. Or we can say leaving some
- 48:28sorry. Oh, just I came out.
- 48:31I went down with you to, like, the fourth or fifth floor and
- 48:34Ray was in the hallway with a coaxial canister and it's just
- 48:38like, when did she give here? Like what the hell?
- 48:42Like, all of a sudden, she's just in there and she's talking
- 48:45about, you know, Sammy one of the players chewy we have to get
- 48:49chewy. The there was a Astromech Droid
- 48:51that. What was his name?
- 48:52SK, SK SK. So he's like are too.
- 48:57But it says K. And like we had, he was part of
- 48:59the story and it was this whole thing.
- 49:01And, you know, I just didn't expect to see Ray.
- 49:05Whoo, kudos to the female, the woman who played her, because
- 49:11not only did she have that wide-eyed like deer in the
- 49:13headlights? Ray look to her.
- 49:16She also had the accent. She also had the knowledge. she,
- 49:22it was great, she made references to Luke, she made
- 49:24references to, you know, Master, Luke and You know, General
- 49:28Organa and then of course, Derek was kind enough to get me in on
- 49:34the last bit of his story which was, we went into a room.
- 49:37There were three of us Ray, and one of the Sasha's and we all
- 49:41kind of put our hands out. Use the force and opened a Jedi
- 49:45holocron which a prism or some kind of, I don't know like
- 49:52projection, I don't know the technology, I don't know what
- 49:55you'd call it. It's kind of like Projection.
- 49:58It's one of those things that like you know, that spins really
- 50:01fast that has light on it that can change.
- 50:03And oh yeah, creates this 3D illusion.
- 50:06Sure. So I know that's what the Oda it
- 50:09was Yoda. Who spoke to us.
- 50:11So it was it was who is the three of you?
- 50:13Is the two of you. It was the two of us, and then
- 50:16another person. But I went into my session, we
- 50:20were, I think we might have been the first one first group,
- 50:23because they have more of the shirts going in through.
- 50:25It's just not one. And the effects don't work.
- 50:30Nothing did do that. I knew that things were supposed
- 50:34to happen to like wait, what's going on?
- 50:36And we're just walking out and I'm like, oh no.
- 50:39And so I had, I was walking around later on, Christine had
- 50:45gotten a separate session and she walked out and she was
- 50:49crying because of how amazing it was.
- 50:51And I was like, Christina's, I oh my god.
- 50:53Did it work for you? And she said, yes and I was
- 50:55like, and so I was standing, right?
- 50:58Are by the door where the people that were working it and as I
- 51:01owe our student work and I don't know how, I don't know how these
- 51:06people know where you are, or what you're doing, or what you
- 51:09say, but it almost seemed like they had set something up to get
- 51:14me back into another session because I was up in the atrium.
- 51:18And one of the Sasha's came around and she remembered my
- 51:21name, she's like, Derek. She's like, you know, I want you
- 51:25to experience this again, or she said it in a Such a way that it
- 51:28was still part of the experience.
- 51:30Not like, oh, the effects were down.
- 51:32Yeah, so yeah, trucks. Done with the screwdriver
- 51:36downstairs, you can go back. So when I found out, I was like,
- 51:40well, I was like, you know, I wanted to share it but I was
- 51:45like, how many people can I get in?
- 51:47And so I and I was limited on time because she's like, it was
- 51:51basically like in 15 minutes and I was like, okay.
- 51:54So I talked to some people and they're saying, oh we can't
- 51:57guarantee Thing and Southern, oh God.
- 51:59So I don't wanna like pull everyone aside because I was
- 52:02like, I didn't know that I was going to get people in.
- 52:05And so, luckily, I was able to get Leanne down there and yeah,
- 52:08I here, I come, I had to take a nap because I was gonna die and
- 52:12we hadn't slept, you know, whatever.
- 52:15I had to take a damn nap, I had to power down power back up and
- 52:18I'm coming down the hallway and dirge-like.
- 52:19You got to come with me right now.
- 52:20And I was like, okay because that's how things work on this
- 52:23ship, you know? Yes.
- 52:24And he's like I don't know if I'm gonna be able to do this so
- 52:26don't get too disappointed. It doesn't happen but I'm going
- 52:28to try and get you into this experience.
- 52:30I said, okay and then I cried. I mean it was I knew it's fake,
- 52:35it's not real but it was real enough for me to be like, okay,
- 52:40I'm in Star Wars. It sounded really cool though.
- 52:43Yeah. And so there's not a lot of
- 52:46things on this ship that are because when you think of Disney
- 52:49and think of like especially if you ride rise and resistance and
- 52:51see all these cool things that they do with this ride and cool
- 52:55technology that they use and effects.
- 52:58I would say that this is like the main, like cool thing to see
- 53:02like like the main like kind of special effect on this ship.
- 53:08I love that. He tells me that now two weeks
- 53:10later, but in the end, that's really a lie because the all the
- 53:15things that they did in the final show, which we can get to
- 53:17layer, it was was amazing. Amazing.
- 53:21I will say that one of the missus, I think of the
- 53:24experience. And we talked about this while
- 53:26we were there, is that there's only One Lounge.
- 53:29There's only one restaurant. There's only one place to escape
- 53:33to really I wish there had been maybe just one more what?
- 53:37Exactly not because it was packed because it wasn't.
- 53:39It's just variety on your down time.
- 53:43There's only one place to go. Really.
- 53:44Yeah. And also I wish there had been
- 53:48more characters. Maybe not part of the story but
- 53:51like have another species walking around.
- 53:53We did have a rodian walking around but she was part of the
- 53:56guy a show as well. But you know have a togruta
- 54:00walking around or another tweet leg or you know, any character
- 54:03just like walking around just to talk to you but I can understand
- 54:06why there wasn't. Because if they're not part of
- 54:09the storyline then it might distract you from the storyline
- 54:12which is your main point of being on the ship.
- 54:14Yeah and I don't think you know one thing is that there are so
- 54:19many things to do with the storyline as much as you want to
- 54:23see you can really be. You can wake up.
- 54:26Have your breakfast. Your day and and you can be busy
- 54:31the entire day, getting involved in your story lines.
- 54:34Well, in on the inverse of that, I will say a hit-and-miss right?
- 54:39Hit not hit and run. That's a very different thing.
- 54:42Didn't miss a bit. Heavier, the hit is the fact
- 54:46that everything all of the missions, sort of ceased around.
- 54:50I think what was it like, 11:00 10:00 or 11:00 10:00 or 11:00?
- 54:54Yeah, so those actors. Gotta go home.
- 54:56Yeah. Upon they need rest too many to
- 55:01go up to their cabin AKA. And that Toyota Corolla, you
- 55:04know, you know, blowing a red light camera, but but the thing
- 55:09of it is so that was the hit is the fact that it was nice, that
- 55:11it stopped at some point. So you could relax go to the
- 55:15lounge, enjoy the climate chamber, laying your bed,
- 55:18whatever you wanted to do the Miss though, and this is what I
- 55:23think could be an opportunity in the future is for those folks
- 55:27who Who are my towels and who would have been willing to stay
- 55:31up and have their, their story continued.
- 55:35I get it that, you know, the actress, the, the folks playing
- 55:37these. These, these roles can't be
- 55:40there longer, whatever, but it would have been nice if there
- 55:42would have been other things to do on the ship like interact
- 55:46with or puzzles or like something that you could still
- 55:49continue. So like I said it's kind of a
- 55:51double-edged sword one. It was nice to have it stops.
- 55:53You could breathe and then to it would have been nice if you
- 55:56wanted to. You wanted that option to
- 55:58continue that it was there, right?
- 56:01Yeah. And you know, to your point with
- 56:06my story, I never got to see the cargo bay, which I think you
- 56:10spent some time in or the engineering room.
- 56:12I didn't see either of those. I never went in those.
- 56:14Neither neither. Oh, okay.
- 56:17No fair mouth closed when I tried to go down.
- 56:19So it wasn't like, I guess I didn't do that.
- 56:22Right. But I never got to go in either
- 56:24of those rooms, but I never had a mission, any Of those rooms.
- 56:28Yeah, me neither so and I had one in each.
- 56:31Yeah. And see, that's another thing
- 56:32that I wanted to say is that while the Jedi path is has that
- 56:38nice, you know, and to it with the holocron.
- 56:42I don't I don't know if it would be the most exciting throughout
- 56:46because it I think with the resistance and with their first
- 56:52order and even with the Smuggler we're out, there are a lot more
- 56:58Fun activities to do. But I can't say that for sure
- 57:03because I had three going on at once.
- 57:05So I was never fully involved with one particular so I don't
- 57:09know how they would have filled my time.
- 57:11Yeah, with each different thing. Yeah, Derek's dead bitch.
- 57:14At the bingo hall. Was 17 cars in front of her, you
- 57:18know, stamping left to right with the troll drills Nails in
- 57:21the lashes and take the train. Yes, no, no.
- 57:26But but but that's very true. And I and same thing kind of
- 57:30kind of in the sense of just asking at some point I was down
- 57:33there by somebody and I was like hey can I get in the car?
- 57:35Go to I need to see what's in there and they the guy was like,
- 57:37okay? Yeah.
- 57:38But don't tell anybody, right? And so he keep me in to do it,
- 57:41right? And then it wasn't until towards
- 57:43the end of the second day that I actually had a mission that
- 57:46directed me for the, the cargo hold we we didn't have access to
- 57:52it, but we were just, like kind of like trying to figure it out
- 57:55and we were standing there and then all of a sudden, Open the
- 57:58door. Opens.
- 57:59And there's Gaia coming out and she's like, well, hello.
- 58:02Hey, we didn't know it at the time, but she was walking out to
- 58:10go to her first performance for dinner.
- 58:12And so, so, she's walking out and saying goodbye were like,
- 58:17oh, we got access to the cargo when we broke it, but something
- 58:20like, it's very clear. The space is, you're allowed to
- 58:23be an art, right? And so something like that.
- 58:26Like, no, you're not. Doing the wrong thing by doing
- 58:30it right? You're not I cast members are
- 58:33going to come in and be like you're not supposed to be in.
- 58:35Yeah it's a good. I mean everything you're not
- 58:36supposed to be in says crew only, right?
- 58:38I mean so it's very exploratory. It's very make of it.
- 58:41What you want. We also had a panel in our
- 58:44bedroom that had a Droid that would talk to us and also prompt
- 58:48us to do further missions the actors.
- 58:51A programmatic never prompted us to do missions.
- 58:55Oh ours was like talk to me. Yeah but But yes, we did.
- 59:01We'll see it was different ours was had to do with Smugglers Run
- 59:05the ride and but to so and we actually got our own special
- 59:08message but it was all. It was all magic been activated,
- 59:11so it remembered and she was a very sweet Droid at night.
- 59:15She would either tell you a story or sing, you a lullaby and
- 59:18we did both and they were very nice, very nice dried.
- 59:22We can get either that at night but it's cool.
- 59:24I mean, listen everyone else. Your serenade was from Gregor
- 59:28Dan, right? One of the quotes of the trip
- 59:32was we were all like, going through our personal checklist
- 59:36before we went to Batu, like do we have the keys?
- 59:38Do we have the magic bands? We have backpacks, sanitizer,
- 59:41sunglasses and Greg's like, oh shit, I need to go get my
- 59:44sunglasses and he pauses and turns and says, wait, are
- 59:46aviators considered Canon? And this is just like, it was
- 59:52very good in the story that we were concerned that our aviators
- 59:54were not canon. It was very good, was really
- 59:58fun. Yeah.
- 59:59Friend Leslie, who is on the ship with us?
- 1:00:03She was an Ewok the entire time. Yeah, so but she's amazing.
- 1:00:09Yes. One of the things that people
- 1:00:12also were starting to say on the forums as reading them is, you
- 1:00:16know, we went into this thinking that, you know, we did a lot of
- 1:00:18costume changes. Yeah.
- 1:00:20And the thing people started saying was no stick to the same
- 1:00:25costume or only do like one costume per day.
- 1:00:28Yeah, I had to look like I had three different looks.
- 1:00:34You did you did a good job though?
- 1:00:35Yeah. You did a good job.
- 1:00:37So, but Leslie was the same and it helped her.
- 1:00:40She was well-known to everybody. She was called out by everybody.
- 1:00:43This is the only Ewok on board. Yeah.
- 1:00:46Yeah, correct. And that's where it's like,
- 1:00:51because you have to remember, these actors are only have two
- 1:00:55days of you. I mean, if you were in a really
- 1:00:57call it like a day and a half because that second half is
- 1:00:59like, The wrapping up, but like, right a day and a half to with
- 1:01:01you to not only try to remember your name and for some folks,
- 1:01:06they all of us included we had creative names that went along
- 1:01:10with where we were at. So not only, they are, they
- 1:01:14trying to remember a unique name but also trying to put it with a
- 1:01:17person and so if you're changing your Aesthetics so much are so
- 1:01:21often and I can't remember you and it will number one and then
- 1:01:25number two, if you're not engaging with them enough like
- 1:01:28you know, for Them to remember you outside of that then your
- 1:01:32could be doing yourself a disservice right?
- 1:01:34And so like Leslie she being you know in her Ewok costume again.
- 1:01:39Very easy to remember and she was, you know, kind of giving
- 1:01:44Lieutenant Kroy a hard time throughout the entire thing
- 1:01:46because he's a bad guy. Ended up calling her.
- 1:01:48Oh no, no, no. This isn't she said to him,
- 1:01:51she's like, oh no, no, no. And so that's what he called her
- 1:01:55for the entire wrestling again, keeps hitting eternity goes, oh,
- 1:01:58so that's your name. Oh no, no, no.
- 1:01:59Like it. And that's what he calls on her
- 1:02:02performances in the atrium. He she said, she shouted out
- 1:02:07something to him and he turned down and looked at her from the
- 1:02:09up on the second level. And was like, I don't need to
- 1:02:13hear from you. Oh no, it's okay and showers.
- 1:02:17And that's the thing that goes back to what I said earlier, is
- 1:02:19that, if you can can make yourself, you know, interact and
- 1:02:22be memorable, once again, as there as these group things are
- 1:02:25going on and they need to interact with you or they want
- 1:02:29to interact. Act, you've given them something
- 1:02:31to be memorable to respond to. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:35And I would say, the biggest hit for me, was that grand finale
- 1:02:39show, and it was literally a show.
- 1:02:41It went on for like, 30 minutes. The story all came together,
- 1:02:46everything all of our paths, all of the things that we were
- 1:02:50watching all of the interruptions, the all of it
- 1:02:53came to a grand finale and it wrapped up seamlessly and we had
- 1:02:59against me Dollars. We had an actual lightsaber duel
- 1:03:03between kylo Ren and Ray. We're at one point a piece of
- 1:03:08the ceiling fell. Like, it's separated.
- 1:03:12Like, as if, you know, I don't know, if kylo sent did tried to
- 1:03:17break, bring it down or something and race, stopped it
- 1:03:20with the force, and it was just hanging there.
- 1:03:22It was all part of the show, all in that Atrium and you'd never
- 1:03:25know that all of those special effects of like blaster.
- 1:03:29Sparks going off and, you know, their lightsabers hitting the
- 1:03:33railing and it was barking and yeah, destroying the railing
- 1:03:36right in front of you. Yeah.
- 1:03:37And the best part, which, you know, we weren't allowed up on
- 1:03:41this balcony area, where this show is taking place, there had
- 1:03:45to have been like a treadmill or something.
- 1:03:46Because Ray, lost her lightsaber kylo.
- 1:03:50Ren reached out with the force and pulled her towards him, and
- 1:03:53she like moved, yeah, flawlessly, yeah.
- 1:03:56Yeah, her legs were moving, but she was moving.
- 1:04:00It was like frozen. Yeah and but moving towards him
- 1:04:04just like the force. She was not.
- 1:04:06She was an Intergalactic Bowflex basically.
- 1:04:08Yeah it was really cool and very cool.
- 1:04:14The best part was when Sammy one of the characters who we thought
- 1:04:19you know they're his storyline, you thought he was kind of
- 1:04:22working for the first order but he was like the shy, you know,
- 1:04:26kind of humble doing whatever the first order asked for here.
- 1:04:29And It up ripping off his helmet, he was a stormtrooper
- 1:04:32undercover and like saved the day and it was everybody
- 1:04:35cheered. And it was this whole Atrium
- 1:04:38cheering for Sammy and I was like, oh my God, I wasn't
- 1:04:40expecting that. It was it was so well done.
- 1:04:43Yeah, really great. And then of course, one of the
- 1:04:46best effects, which people were so excited about seeing was that
- 1:04:50actual working lightsaber, like we're yes.
- 1:04:53When she actually press the button, the light saber.
- 1:04:57Yeah. Like just came out of the hell.
- 1:04:59Yeah. And it was such a cool effect
- 1:05:01and it was so neat to see in person they've got a little work
- 1:05:04to do on the transition to if we actually lightsaber work in
- 1:05:08progress, they'll get it. They'll get there.
- 1:05:11But damn that Ray and kylo ren thing was I was in it.
- 1:05:16It was just like wow I'm like in it and you know I felt like such
- 1:05:20a nerd but I was in my element. So question is was after that
- 1:05:25the concert with the guy who played the guitar and sang, the
- 1:05:28song was that? Yeah.
- 1:05:29Million. Yes.
- 1:05:31Second row are Sandra Sandra Sandra called him Sandra, but
- 1:05:36his name was Sandra, but he was actually on Marillion.
- 1:05:40So that was nice to see one of their species on board.
- 1:05:42But he was, he was wonderful. It was so cool because we
- 1:05:46literally had like we were holding court at this.
- 1:05:48This table in the in the lounge really worked out and we really
- 1:05:51were and he came over with who was the the rodian they came
- 1:05:58over sat down and he Is essentially trying to write a
- 1:06:01song that he was going to be performing later that evening
- 1:06:04and, you know, he was like talking about it and then, you
- 1:06:08know, asking for, you know, kind of some input and I was sort of
- 1:06:11singing a little riffs here and there Greg have thrown out some
- 1:06:15words and like we kind of all put it together and it was cool
- 1:06:18because it ended up in the final song that he's saying later that
- 1:06:21night saying it after the big finale.
- 1:06:24It was really cool for me for me I will say it was such a A hard
- 1:06:31come down after the final performance because it was sort
- 1:06:34of that, you know, it's over and it's not even the fact that it's
- 1:06:39over but it was really like a hard stop.
- 1:06:41There was no other interaction. There was no other data path
- 1:06:44stuff. There was it was done.
- 1:06:46And that's where I feel about this.
- 1:06:48Yeah, I want to talk, I want to go over this because it was the
- 1:06:51biggest Miss for me, was, how hard of a stop?
- 1:06:56You gotta go. I mean, it was, Next morning,
- 1:07:00like they couldn't get us out fast enough, but to, to their
- 1:07:04credit, they had to turn over that entire ship to get a whole
- 1:07:07new set of people on later that afternoon but little things
- 1:07:12matter. Like our screen in the bedroom
- 1:07:15was no longer in space. They didn't show us docking on
- 1:07:18planet. They didn't show us any stars.
- 1:07:20It was just a black screen and it was like who turned it off?
- 1:07:24Not. Yeah.
- 1:07:25And maybe it was a mistake or but I mean, It was like they
- 1:07:30didn't seamlessly send us on our way.
- 1:07:33I felt it was too hard. That's something I wanted to ask
- 1:07:36the forms because the only thing that surprises me with that is
- 1:07:39that they spent so much time trying to make you feel immersed
- 1:07:42in this environment. Why would you then turn off the
- 1:07:45display at the very end? Yeah.
- 1:07:47Well if you're going to do that like don't even do it.
- 1:07:52Number one, just just have it be a static image though of.
- 1:07:55Hey we're docked next to the ship.
- 1:07:57That's going to take you back to earth like Yeah, it's not hard
- 1:08:00to fix that part. You know.
- 1:08:02Also there was some confusion on when we had to put our luggage
- 1:08:06out so they could take it back to valet and get it ready for at
- 1:08:09our cars so that kind of created some Chaos on the way out.
- 1:08:13Like do we have time? Do we not have time?
- 1:08:15Do we have to bring it to breakfast with us?
- 1:08:16Like what do we have to do with this?
- 1:08:18So I would I would fix that or at least be a little clearer and
- 1:08:21maybe a few data pad like thank you for joining us you know see
- 1:08:25on your way you know and I think one of the phrases they use was
- 1:08:28May the Stars light. R way, but like we didn't get
- 1:08:30any send-off. It was kind of just like, that's
- 1:08:33it. Yeah.
- 1:08:34And you know, Leah you absolutely hit the nail on the
- 1:08:36head and because of the fact like that, I'm not going to
- 1:08:39repeat anything. You said that.
- 1:08:41Plus, for example, like, Lieutenant Kroy was was, was my
- 1:08:46guy, right? And, and, you know, the first
- 1:08:49order was not that the hero at the end of the day.
- 1:08:53But I had zero chance to just say, thank you to him, for
- 1:08:56making it such a great experience for me.
- 1:08:59And I, Get it because it's not too easy with the story.
- 1:09:01But there is no. They literally hauled the first
- 1:09:04order people off the ship so to speak.
- 1:09:06Yeah, thrown out exactly. But I would have liked an option
- 1:09:10to receive a survey that said, hey is there anybody from your
- 1:09:14experience that you would you would like to say something to
- 1:09:17because I would have, I would have said, hey lieutenant, Kroy
- 1:09:19blah, blah blah, like you know and so all of that and like I
- 1:09:23understand it needs to end at some point but Julian's point it
- 1:09:28was so harsh. That Like, it would have been
- 1:09:30nice to have some, sort of trickle, over in the morning,
- 1:09:32like, like Gaia or like other people being around and just,
- 1:09:36you know, just kind of having that send-off and, you know,
- 1:09:39thank you for your journey. And, you know, you were all
- 1:09:40brave and, you know, probably, you will always remember you.
- 1:09:44It was just very, it was very, just, just abrupt obviously.
- 1:09:48I think that it's probably just one of those issues where it's
- 1:09:52their schedules, like the Regale.
- 1:09:54Yes. Yes.
- 1:09:56Because if you think about it, you start your day.
- 1:09:59The first. Like yeah, afternoon into the
- 1:10:01evening so and then the second day no one's around because
- 1:10:05you're going to bed too. So you then come back from a 2
- 1:10:08in the story begins again on the ship in the afternoon early
- 1:10:11evening so that's their schedule.
- 1:10:13It's that late afternoon to you agree.
- 1:10:15They agree. Even though they wouldn't be
- 1:10:17able to come back in the morning and be there, but it could have
- 1:10:20been that you're 100% agree with you.
- 1:10:22They could have done something where they had a pre-recorded or
- 1:10:25they had a recorded message playing in The Atrium that said,
- 1:10:28you know, You know, our captain is fast asleep in her cabin, she
- 1:10:32was up late, you know, helping the engineers in the, in the
- 1:10:34maintenance room. But, you know, go ahead and, you
- 1:10:38know, here's, here's a message. She wanted to make sure you all
- 1:10:41saw before you, disembark poop, you know, something something,
- 1:10:44something small like that to help bridge the gap and going
- 1:10:47back to your Lieutenant, Corey thing not being able to say
- 1:10:50goodbye. I think, one way that they could
- 1:10:51solve that is just like, put them in the brig, that's it.
- 1:10:55Yeah. And you put out a be like, in
- 1:10:58jail, but you can be out. It looks like we're so sorry you
- 1:11:01could. Yeah, you know, that a great,
- 1:11:03you know, that that's a great idea because he was really, he
- 1:11:06was really the well, I mean, guess they all kind of did but
- 1:11:09he was he was really a hard stop.
- 1:11:10Like you weren't seeing him again and you did.
- 1:11:13Yeah, right. Everybody else like it was so
- 1:11:15nice. You know that, you know, the
- 1:11:17other characters were there and you can actually give him a hug
- 1:11:20goodbye. Yeah.
- 1:11:21I mean, I fake cigarette butt with the cruise director on the
- 1:11:24floor, like my meeting Echo. You know, they were friends by
- 1:11:28the end of this. This in a way, you know?
- 1:11:30And so it was a shame that we didn't get to say goodbye to
- 1:11:33Lieutenant Kroy, but there's just a few things, they could
- 1:11:36easily fix like that screen in the bedroom or provide a message
- 1:11:40from somebody or put him in the brig and you send your regards,
- 1:11:43you know. Yeah.
- 1:11:45Easy fixes. And not only that we because
- 1:11:48Christine is amazing. She was able to secure us, a
- 1:11:51professional photo. Shoot.
- 1:11:53Yes. Which was an extra cost that she
- 1:11:55she got us. Yeah, it is a hit.
- 1:11:57It is a major hit. That like it was like that was
- 1:12:02now I think out of everything that we spent on that ship that
- 1:12:06was the best my because that's what you walk away with is the
- 1:12:10memory like you have, your dad is what you have and that's
- 1:12:13where I'm going to. I'm going to give the plug and
- 1:12:15say if you're going to do it do it because at the end of the day
- 1:12:18I don't know how much that pick up.
- 1:12:20The package was only a hundred dollars.
- 1:12:22Okay. So perfect if you're going to
- 1:12:23spend well worth it, if you're going to spend three thousand
- 1:12:26dollars on this Cruise, what is the difference between?
- 1:12:29Thousand or three thousand one hundred like like at the end of
- 1:12:32the day to get, I mean really great.
- 1:12:35Fantastic. I mean, some of the some of the
- 1:12:37PhotoPass shots that you get at Disney, I mean, they're good
- 1:12:41quality. But like this is like, you know,
- 1:12:45hiring like a wedding photographer, what is it?
- 1:12:49100, that's such good quality and he they knew what they were
- 1:12:54doing and eating the positioning the the shot.
- 1:12:59IIT of the locations. And that's where to your point.
- 1:13:02Eric, it's not a Disney PhotoPass where it's like, okay
- 1:13:05stand on this Mark snap snap. Thanks by it was.
- 1:13:09Where do you want to go? What do you want to do?
- 1:13:11Who's in the photo? And, and you know, what was what
- 1:13:14I was impressed with was the photographer, took a few little
- 1:13:17minutes to get to know the dynamic of the group and how
- 1:13:20people know what, right? And it was it came down to
- 1:13:22essentially, Derek being the glue, right?
- 1:13:25I mean everybody's connection was through Derek.
- 1:13:27And so one of the photos In the atrium is literally surrounded
- 1:13:32by Derek being in the middle. I'm next to him, obviously, as
- 1:13:35this husband and holding hands and then everybody else kind of
- 1:13:38fans up from there, but just that little key knowing that
- 1:13:42Derek's the glue, and he wanted to make sure that you were the
- 1:13:45center of act. I just think to your point very
- 1:13:49much in alignment, with what you get from a wedding photographer
- 1:13:52or any special event photographer.
- 1:13:54Yeah, because everybody that saw our photos after we posted in
- 1:13:56the like, oh my God, these are amazing. 100% a must do, if you
- 1:14:01have the experience and our photographer.
- 1:14:04He, I literally said, I was dressed as a Jedi inspired
- 1:14:08outfit, and I had Leia's lightsaber.
- 1:14:10And I said, all I want to do is this with this light saber.
- 1:14:12Like, this is my idea, he took that ran with it, and made it so
- 1:14:15much more than I could have ever imagined because he had the
- 1:14:18creative. Yeah, part of him running with
- 1:14:21all of us, you know, it had a Greg's photos with you and Derek
- 1:14:24and Cory you together you know, Leslie's personal request.
- 1:14:29He had he had, he had Christine like fan, my Kpop like bitch,
- 1:14:33like I was coming in for a landing somewhere like you know,
- 1:14:36and Beyonce fan somewhere in that, you know, that bridge.
- 1:14:40Exactly. And that's what I would say too
- 1:14:42is that it's good to come in with ideas and have have a
- 1:14:46Direction but let the photographer do what they do
- 1:14:49best and be creative, right? Unless, unless you are Beyond
- 1:14:53specific about, like I want to be holding the throttle in the
- 1:14:57bridge like but but otherwise as long You have a general idea
- 1:15:02because I think the worst thing to do in any case when working
- 1:15:05with an artist is just to say, I don't know whatever you think is
- 1:15:07best right? Because while yes they can do
- 1:15:10that but if you have if you can meet halfway with some ideas
- 1:15:13that makes it way too much better.
- 1:15:14Yeah. And one thing I was going to say
- 1:15:15because you're mentioning locations of where you can go on
- 1:15:18the ship. This is another major Pro tip
- 1:15:20for the photo. If you're going to book this
- 1:15:22photo session, one of the best time frames to book it, if you
- 1:15:27can is I would say that. Between two and three, maybe
- 1:15:31even a little bit earlier because there's nothing else
- 1:15:34going on at the ship on the ship and so you can get access to all
- 1:15:38these rooms. Oh, it's like between 2 & 3 on
- 1:15:40the second day I should say. So, you know, you can be on the
- 1:15:43bridge, you can go into the engineering room, there's not
- 1:15:46active things going on, whatever those it was 2:30.
- 1:15:50Oh wow. See, it seems to me nobody in
- 1:15:52the atrium. Nobody nobody in the bridge.
- 1:15:54Yeah, if you look at all of our fathers and that's it was
- 1:15:56photoshopped because there was living nobody there, but Funny.
- 1:15:59So, so, going back to what we said before.
- 1:16:01Like, Derek just said it was 2:30. 3:00 that to me seemed
- 1:16:05like it was, like, 8:00 p.m. oh, I know did not seem like I was
- 1:16:092:00 later. But again, we just worked on
- 1:16:11that thing. I know he really was.
- 1:16:14Yeah, yeah. That's a really great time to do
- 1:16:16it because it's, you know, you have access to pretty much every
- 1:16:19single area with hardly anybody there and they're all on by two
- 1:16:24still doing their thing or in their rooms there's nothing
- 1:16:26going on actively on the ship with Hers or missions.
- 1:16:30And so I felt like that that was, we just happen to randomly
- 1:16:33pick that. And then I saw on the forums
- 1:16:37that oh, this is a good time to guys, I perfect as like we've
- 1:16:41got it. Yep.
- 1:16:42Yeah, it was overall really amazing.
- 1:16:46What was your favorite experience?
- 1:16:47If you had to put it down to one?
- 1:16:50And now it's really tough. I'm going to be a little bit
- 1:16:53sentimental here and I'm just going to say, I think my
- 1:16:57favorite thing was getting to experience it with all of you we
- 1:17:00have been talking about this for so long and we, you know, are
- 1:17:06all Star Wars fans went at one level or another and and just
- 1:17:12getting to all finally come together.
- 1:17:13Some of us met for the first time that you got to meet Dan
- 1:17:16and Greg for the very first time for a long time, we've been
- 1:17:19talking about you. Need to meet them and it says,
- 1:17:21yes, so, cool to like, have everybody there and get to share
- 1:17:25this experience and I, and that's a memory that I will
- 1:17:29always have forever. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:17:32Couldn't say it any better than that.
- 1:17:34Honestly, I mean, the experiences and the storylines
- 1:17:37and everything. We're really great.
- 1:17:39It felt like I was in Star Wars, which is exactly what I wanted.
- 1:17:43Out of my little dress up for two and a half three days,
- 1:17:45right? But it wouldn't have been worth
- 1:17:48it without My friends there. And so you know and even I have
- 1:17:54to say it really sucked not having Lauren there but we
- 1:17:57included her as much as we could.
- 1:17:59We did with videos and pictures and I just sent her her gifts.
- 1:18:04So yeah those for her birthday come on.
- 1:18:07Yep. And but like to do Dirk you and
- 1:18:13I have been through so many things like and we've done so
- 1:18:17many large things like Comic-Con, right and This was
- 1:18:20another one of those large things.
- 1:18:21I remember leaving you at the airport that day when I had to
- 1:18:24leave it was terrible. I was crying.
- 1:18:25It was whatever I always cry but I said we did it.
- 1:18:29We did it again and it like it was the experience to share with
- 1:18:32you and Cory. You and I had a moment, the
- 1:18:35second night in the room, we did girl, I won't forget it was it
- 1:18:40was one of those things, like we're all doing these
- 1:18:42storylines, we're all doing this, but when we came together
- 1:18:44it was something we all shared so and huge it that made it
- 1:18:48worth it. You just said my Part was the
- 1:18:52storylines were fun. But what I didn't like about it
- 1:18:55is that I wasn't with all of you, right?
- 1:18:57I mean, we were on the same ship, great.
- 1:18:59But my favorite part was, when we weren't doing missions and we
- 1:19:03were together exchanging what had just happened and my
- 1:19:07experience in your experience and, and watching Liam like
- 1:19:09watching you light up because you would you talk to so-and-so,
- 1:19:12right, and watching you do this and like you know that to me was
- 1:19:16the best part was pulling everybody back together because
- 1:19:18to your point, That's kind of. That was the that was the intent
- 1:19:21right for us to go on this this this journey together and
- 1:19:24experience it together. So to hear everyone's stories
- 1:19:27around, the table was was great. Yeah, and it's such a unique
- 1:19:31experience because like, where, where else would you get to do
- 1:19:35this? Totally immersive.
- 1:19:37You know, serious. Feared X.
- 1:19:39That is a something that you love that you absolutely love
- 1:19:44and want to be a part of and we got to do it is unlike anything
- 1:19:48else that's out there. No.
- 1:19:50Yeah. And you know there's some
- 1:19:51questions about whether or not how long this can last in terms
- 1:19:55of you know, will people be able to you want to go back or are
- 1:19:58they going to be able to continue to fill out this ship?
- 1:20:01And you know we all set up the end of it even with the
- 1:20:06expensive price tag that came with it.
- 1:20:09You know, we all said that we would want to do it again.
- 1:20:12And you know, who knows what does he has planned?
- 1:20:15I'm sure they have plans for like changing the storyline at
- 1:20:19some point. Don't you know what they need to
- 1:20:21do to make sure that it keeps fresh and new ideas, but I
- 1:20:25really think it's going to be a thing that's going to want that.
- 1:20:29People are going to be drawn back into and want to go again.
- 1:20:33Yeah. And you know, if they can afford
- 1:20:34it, you know, you shouldn't have to go into debt to experience
- 1:20:38something like this. But you know it's one of those
- 1:20:40experiences that if you can save up and do it, it's definitely
- 1:20:44worth it. Yeah, and I don't remember who I
- 1:20:47heard say this once but it was kind of one of those things.
- 1:20:50Of, you know, like go out there live your life, enjoy it.
- 1:20:53The money will come back, right? I mean so it's kind of all those
- 1:20:56things like yeah, this was this was on the pricier side but I
- 1:21:01don't regret it. One bit and I would do it again.
- 1:21:05I said I would do it again but I want there to be enough time to
- 1:21:07have lapse that it's not so fresh that I remember a lot.
- 1:21:11I mean, of course, there's going to be the big key things that I
- 1:21:14remember, but like I want, I want there to have been enough
- 1:21:18time to have elapsed and Maybe, maybe, they, maybe they enhance
- 1:21:21things, right? Maybe there is some changes.
- 1:21:23Maybe there's, you know, X Y or Z?
- 1:21:26I mean, I'd have to think. I mean, we're asking these
- 1:21:28questions right now, I'm sure in the planning phase of this area
- 1:21:32expensive, you know, experience that they were asking themselves
- 1:21:37the same. So there probably is some type
- 1:21:39of plan that we may not know about sure, and maybe they're
- 1:21:43just, you know, we're going to see how much this continues to
- 1:21:47draw people. I think it's going to be very
- 1:21:49popular. Next, you know, few years,
- 1:21:51especially for the people that are going to experience it, and
- 1:21:55then we'll just see where it goes from there.
- 1:21:56But I'm just so excited for not only, you know what this
- 1:22:02experience means just for Star Wars.
- 1:22:05But what it could potentially mean for other franchises in the
- 1:22:09future, you know, whether Universal then wants to bring a
- 1:22:14Harry Potter Hotel into the mix, you know, go to Hogwarts, you
- 1:22:19know it, I Think I think if it is successful, I think it's
- 1:22:23going to be replicated through other fandoms.
- 1:22:26And I am excited to see where the 100% goes because it's not a
- 1:22:31hard concept. I mean, I think the hardest part
- 1:22:33about all of it is the storyline piece and the the data pad and
- 1:22:38making it into an integer. So integral integrated intuitive
- 1:22:43and at the end of the day, when we all sat around and talked
- 1:22:46about stuff, none of us said, oh that Conflicts with what my
- 1:22:51story said, or blah blah. But like, it was very, very well
- 1:22:54done. From a storyline perspective,
- 1:22:57both in what we were fed from the data pad and then also what
- 1:23:01was executed in front of us by the live people as well.
- 1:23:04Yeah, it was amazing. What can I say?
- 1:23:07I cried several times? That's always a good sign if
- 1:23:11you're traveling with me, so I'm glad I got to do it with you.
- 1:23:15I mean I to throw fire grew yeah.
- 1:23:17So it wouldn't have been the same Same without Leslie.
- 1:23:21Christine Dan Greg, if you're all listening and I hope you are
- 1:23:24thank you for making it an amazing experience with myself
- 1:23:28Derek and Cory I would I think we all agree.
- 1:23:30It was we had a damn good group and we represented we thought we
- 1:23:35were players at bat to panic. We were part of this like yeah
- 1:23:40that's my second favorite thing is that so a father came up to
- 1:23:44Greg Dan and I and asked if his daughter could take a picture
- 1:23:48with us, right? And it was like that.
- 1:23:50Just like a tiny little Ray universe is so cute.
- 1:23:53I mean that was one of those things like absolutely.
- 1:23:55Like this thing is from Amazon, like I'd be happy to take a
- 1:23:57photo with you right now. Yeah.
- 1:23:59But you look fabulous. We all did we represented.
- 1:24:01I'd say a good job. We did.
- 1:24:04We did it. So on that note, I guess I'll
- 1:24:07say your Cola a Tima by Tima. And of course, to buoy today,
- 1:24:23which is cheers. So I think, I think we did it,
- 1:24:27right, don't you? Yeah, I think so.
- 1:24:29Yep. My ill-mannered cat is ruining
