- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome to the Overclock Dreamix Podcast, the best way to catch up on OCR news and new music that you can listen to while riding in a minecart collecting bananas.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: This is episode number 14, covering December 2025, and I didn't beat Donkey Kong Country until I was 37 years old.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Growing up, I didn't get an SNES until after the N64 was out, so while I had played DKC at a friend's house, the DK games I grew up with were the Game Boy ones.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Donkey Kong Land was okay.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: It scratches that rare platformer itch, but between the screen crunch and the graphics that are just a little too detailed for the original Game Boy screen, because I had the original, not the pocket or the color.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: And it also had kind of janky physics and hit detection, it's a pretty big downgrade from the original.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: It does have plenty of original content though, so if you are a big Donkey Kong Country fan, and you haven't played Donkey Kong Land, maybe give it a shot.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: But the real best DK game is the Game Boy title, simply called Donkey Kong, known by its fans as Donkey Kong 94, because that's the year it came out.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: It's a puzzle platformer.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: The recently re-released Mario vs.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Donkey Kong is very much a sequel.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: But DK94 is so important to games.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: It introduced Mario's moves that most people know from Mario 64, like the triple jump and the backflip.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: And it was the flagship title for the Super Game Boy, and let me tell you, I was drooling over those screenshots of Game Boy games in color.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Anyway, I've been talking about games for a while.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: How about we move on to the news?
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Before I forget, our intro music this month was from the Legend of Zelda.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: I've been to video game conventions before, so nothing there was really a surprise.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: You've got your arcade and your expo hall and panels, but dang, it was great to see some of my favorite musicians in person.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: I got to say hi to Zalef and Mega Ran, and I got to see a couple of musical acts that I assumed I'd never get to enjoy live, like the Chiptune piano duo Ivy and Sewershoe, and the Megas, Stellar Time.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: In community news, Adrian Gravity Gauntlet has kicked off a Halo album intended to celebrate Halo 3's upcoming 20th anniversary.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Lord, I did not need to read that.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: I was in college when Halo 3 came out.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Anyway, while it's timed for Halo 3's release, the album is intended to be a celebration of the entire series.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: I'm looking forward to learning who is bold enough to snag that iconic Halo theme.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: And because Adrian is apparently not busy enough, he has also kicked off a Metroid Fusion album intended to celebrate the 25th anniversary of that game's release.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: The gimmick on this one, though, is that Adrian is really leaning into the fusion part of Metroid Fusion.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Every submission needs to be a mashup.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: I'm looking forward to this one.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Mashup albums are always a hoot.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: The news music this month was Hyrule Castle Dark World by Pozu Yan from The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, and this was an old one.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: This is OCR number 65.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: But from the old to the new, let's listen to some new releases.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: No lies, no shadow past for me to flee.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: I face this truth, and it is time to set free.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: To fight or run is easy, I know.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Easier than facing the truth of what I must let go.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Here I stand, a burden mind to bear, I must declare.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: I've wandered long through the mist of blood and flame.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: With a sword in my hand, forced to fight for my name.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: The voices of the fallen always seem to call me back.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: To battles fought in shadows that are strown along my track.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: I thought my path was carved in stone, all alone.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Yet a destiny I fought for to make it all my own.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: But deeper still, beneath the still, I'm just blowing skin, holding the truth within, hoping to fill it in.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: To fight, to run, it's easy.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: I go, face the truth.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: But I must let go.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: Get here, understand.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: The bird of my to feel for who I am, I must have clear.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: Now I got nothing left to do.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: My options nowadays are less than few.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Don't have any other choice but to accept the truth.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: Don't have any other choice except accept the truth.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Now I got nothing left to do.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: My options nowadays are less than few.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Don't have any other choice but to accept the truth.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Don't have any other choice except accept the truth.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: I know I'm different, and I know I live this.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: That's why I spit this.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Playing like it frightened.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: No hero born, no legend bound by fate.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: I wore the crown.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Now the weight is just too great.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: For in the mirror.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: So fraction ain't what it seems.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: I glimpsed at the man I've been with in my dreams.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: What is the strength?
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: What is this fire inside of me?
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Is it my curse or my only true guide for me?
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: I burn with rage, so much sorrow and despair.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: But in that blaze, I've only found myself standing right here Standing right here Standing right here.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: To fight to run is easy.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: I know the face the truth of what I must let go.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Get here, I stand, the very mind to pray, for who I am, I must declare.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: To fight, to run is easy.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: I know to face the truth of what I must let go.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Get here, I stand, the very mind to pray.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: For who I am, I must declare.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Now I got nothing left to do.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: My options nowadays are less than few.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: Don't have any other choice but to accept the truth.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Don't have any other choice accept accept the truth.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: Now I got nothing left to do.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: My options nowadays are less than few.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Don't have any other choice but to accept the truth.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Don't have any other choice accept accept the truth.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: And Beat of the Heart by Prophetic Music from Slay the Spire.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: So you'll have heard some of these tracks before, because they're all from Time Shift.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: But last time, there were a bunch of people yakking over them, so I hope you'll enjoy hearing these tracks clean if you haven't already grabbed the album.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: And you should grab the album.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Standouts in this block, of course, being All for One and One for All, which we did not talk about during the Time Shift segment last month, and it's good! Great orchestral rock track from the main theme of Castle Crashers.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: Fun game.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: I hope it gets made available on contemporary platforms.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: And for a game that Is definitely available on modern platforms, but it is also from five here.
- 30:19SPEAKER_12: Remember that we once lived.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: Same letters as Final Fantasy XVI.
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: That was tricky to read.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: After that was Snowboarding Through a Minefield by Ridiculously Garrett from Bomberman Hero.
- 42:15SPEAKER_00: After that was Stupid Thorns by JSA Blixer from Donkey Kong Country 2.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: And finally, in all caps, Deep Breath now.
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: The All-Inclusive Exclusive Club for Hairy Fishmen Who Shoot Forever Turbo Alarm Clocks.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: By 100% Roamer from Lisa the Painful.
- 42:38SPEAKER_00: Jeez, what a block! Just stacked with amazing tracks.
- 42:42SPEAKER_00: Like, I can't not talk about Children of Light.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: I know we talked about it last month, but it's Final Fantasy and it's Progmetal.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: That's basically Zachnip.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: So good.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: I really do need to get back into Final Fantasy XIV.
- 42:57SPEAKER_00: I played it on and off for about a year and eventually fell off of it just because I was having computer problems.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: Those are fixed now though, so I need to get to it.
- 43:09SPEAKER_00: But we need to talk about Garrett's Bomberman Hero track just because Bomberman Hero was a weird game.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: This is the one where Hudson looked at Mario 64 and thought, we need to do that too.
- 43:22SPEAKER_00: So yeah, 3D platformer Bomberman.
- 43:24SPEAKER_00: Which, you know, was fine and all, but the real sin of the game is that it didn't even have multiplayer.
- 43:31SPEAKER_00: How do you even do a Bomberman without multiplayer?
- 43:53SPEAKER_04: Oh great sun, make treaty with the moon to give our fallen quiet rest.
- 44:01SPEAKER_04: Furnish them with the armor of your brazen heap.
- 44:06SPEAKER_04: Give them shafts of sunlight for spears.
- 44:10SPEAKER_04: Illuminate the path to the skies for each one of them.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: Let their memory and sacrifice be a beacon for all hunters, all people to follow.
- 48:08SPEAKER_11: Imagine that.
- 59:35SPEAKER_00: From Horizon Zero Dawn.
- 59:42SPEAKER_00: From Sky Shark.
- 59:44SPEAKER_00: After that was Clock Capital by Peach from The Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask, and finally, A Long Night Until Morning Comes by Morgan, from Animal Crossing, Wild World.
- 59:57SPEAKER_00: Oh hello, Sky Shark.
- 59:59SPEAKER_00: Where has this soundtrack been my entire life?
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_00: I should really just listen to all of Tim Fallen at some point.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_00: Now, I want to point out, while this is credited to Dual Tech, that's D-U-E-L with an E, if it sounds familiar, that's because DualTech is comprised of Minus World and JN Wake.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_00: What a combo! 2025 has been such a year for VGM prog.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_00: I also want to call out that Peach is back, first new remix in 12 years.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_00: Welcome back.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_09: She's the queen of the sound, and she's here to stay in a disco days.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_11: Dancing so bright.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_11: Shining so bright.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_11: She is the queen of the night.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_11: Queen's running running through the night.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_11: The beat is calling, feel comfy.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_11: The magic when she is moving on the dance vlog.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_11: She's the queen of the groove.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_12: She is gold, bitch, gold.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_11: This is her song, the rip.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_11: I'm so strong.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_11: She spins like a record, pulls the crowd along.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_11: She's electric, the floor feels so light.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_11: Her moves so smooth.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_11: She is the queen of the love.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_11: Beatles calling fields go by the matter when she is moving on the dance floor.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_11: She's the queen of the good.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_10: Feel the beat.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_10: Surrender to her every sway.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_10: With the floor on fire and the strobe lights blaze.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_10: She's the knight's enchantress in a disco days.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_11: And she calls your name.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_12: Subtract them to the dance roll, don't make her another night.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_11: She plays her cutter eye.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_11: The pulse on the dance floor makes her come alive.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_11: With her passion so full of delight.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_11: She rings the pre, she is the queen of the love.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_11: Queen's reading through the light.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_11: The beat is fully wheel.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_11: She's moving on the dance floor.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_12: She's the queen of the food.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_12: She's moving on the dance.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_12: She's the queen of the She's the Queen of the King.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_11: She has the move.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_11: She's the queen of the gun.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_12: She has the move.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:19:06SPEAKER_00: First up, we had Queen of the Groove by Yorito Pixel Seth, Prophetic Music, and Siren Star from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_00: After that, it was Time to Shuffle to Time to Shuffle to Time to Shuffle by Lucas Guimarez and Andrew Stefan from Final Fantasy VI.
- 1:19:26SPEAKER_00: After that was Ancient Vessel by Rebecca E.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_00: Tripp and Gamer of the Winds from The Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_00: Finally, Light a Torch.
- 1:19:36SPEAKER_00: It's dark down here by Zack Parrish from Minecraft.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 1:19:42SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_00: I need to play Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
- 1:19:46SPEAKER_00: I think I'll play it next after my Zelda full series playthrough.
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_00: And speaking of FF and Zelda, we've got that one-two punch here.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_00: That take on Final Fantasy VI's slam shuffle had me scratching my head.
- 1:20:01SPEAKER_00: What the f is that instrument?
- 1:20:04SPEAKER_00: It's too deep for a mandolin, but it has that sort of sound.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_00: Well, of course, it's Pizzicato Viola.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_00: This whole track is Viola.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_00: Three of them.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_00: And we gotta talk about that Tears of the Kingdom track.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_00: I know the original score to Breath of the Wild got some flack for being too minimalistic.
- 1:20:24SPEAKER_00: Tears.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_00: Turn that right around.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_00: It's a great OST.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_00: And Rebecca and Game of the Winds have done such a good job this year in particular, showcasing it for us.
- 1:38:28SPEAKER_00: Alright, that was Lead Where You Belong by Dusk N.
- 1:38:34SPEAKER_00: Apologize for the pronunciation.
- 1:38:36SPEAKER_00: Ariane Marchess from Baldur's Gate 3.
- 1:38:40SPEAKER_00: After that was Wadafusco, which, according to the mix post, is some contraction of some faux German phrase.
- 1:38:49SPEAKER_00: And that's by Roland N.
- 1:38:51SPEAKER_00: Lara Quinte Martinez, Minus World, Pixels and Paradiddles, and Prophetic Music, from The Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask.
- 1:39:00SPEAKER_00: After that is I'm the best, by Ridiculously Garrett, from Mario Kart 64.
- 1:39:07SPEAKER_00: And rounding out the block, we had Demon Fusion by Dual Tech from Shin Megami Tensei 4.
- 1:39:15SPEAKER_00: Man, we, as a community, not me personally, but we have really been pumping out Majora's Masks tracks this year.
- 1:39:24SPEAKER_00: This is like the fourth or fifth in just the last three months.
- 1:39:28SPEAKER_00: Not that I'm complaining.
- 1:39:30SPEAKER_00: It's an underrepresented game compared to its big brother Ancarina of Time.
- 1:39:34SPEAKER_00: And man, what a track.
- 1:39:36SPEAKER_00: Just the sort of thank you, scientist adjacent funk metal jazz fusion prog that I dig.
- 1:39:43SPEAKER_00: And not to discount the Baldur's Gate 3 block opener, by the way.
- 1:39:48SPEAKER_00: Incredible symphonic metal work with a debut vocalist Arianne.
- 1:39:53SPEAKER_00: Welcome! Now, I try not to talk about every single track, because ain't nobody got time for that, but I have something to say.
- 1:40:02SPEAKER_00: First of all, Mario Kart 64's results screen music is needlessly groovy, and I am so stoked that Garrett maintained that vibe.
- 1:40:13SPEAKER_00: And then we get this other synth-heavy prog rock track, this time from Shinigami Tensei Four, one of my all-time favorite 3DS games.
- 1:40:22SPEAKER_00: Man, the game needs a re-release, but what a block.
- 1:40:26SPEAKER_00: All right, next one coming up.
- 1:59:12SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:59:13SPEAKER_00: First up we had Let It Be Saved by Morgan, Chimpazilla, and J.SA.
- 1:59:19SPEAKER_00: Blixer from Final Fantasy X.
- 1:59:21SPEAKER_00: After that was Once More, Into the Storm by Emmunator, Zach Parrish, and Pixel Seth from Outer Wilds.
- 1:59:30SPEAKER_00: After that was World 7-4.
- 1:59:33SPEAKER_00: And that 7-4 as in like the Time Signature, musical time signature 7-4, not 7-4.
- 1:59:43SPEAKER_00: But anyway, that was by Minus World, JN Wake, Prophetic Music, and Zach Chapman from Super Mario Bros.
- 1:59:51SPEAKER_00: Something kinda fun about Minus World doing a Super Mario Bros.
- 1:59:55SPEAKER_00: track.
- 1:59:57SPEAKER_00: Anyway, rounding out the block, we had Quando Kai La Noche by The Plasmas from Castlevania, The Adventure.
- 2:00:05SPEAKER_00: Which was one of the Game Boy Castlevanias.
- 2:00:07SPEAKER_00: I kinda miss the days when big console video games would have little portable exclusive offshoots.
- 2:00:16SPEAKER_00: Anyway, wow! I love the vibes on that take on the Bissade theme.
- 2:00:21SPEAKER_00: That's super dancy and super dark.
- 2:00:24SPEAKER_00: Honestly makes it sound more like a Zelda Dungeon remix than Bissade Island.
- 2:00:29SPEAKER_00: Bisade has gotten a lot of remixes over the years, six of them, and most of them have leaned into the more melodic island sound of the original track.
- 2:00:39SPEAKER_00: Not here! And are you kidding me?
- 2:00:43SPEAKER_00: With more incredible jazz punk, horn, weird time signature prog.
- 2:00:48SPEAKER_00: For me?
- 2:00:49SPEAKER_00: I must have been a very good boy for Santa to bring me treats like World Seven Four.
- 2:00:56SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 2:00:57SPEAKER_00: Last block, let's finish off strong.
- 2:08:58SPEAKER_00: First up, we had a brief respite by Argyll from Assault and Sanctuary.
- 2:09:04SPEAKER_00: And rounding things out for the episode, Hotel COHOLENT by Jeffrey Tosser from The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening.
- 2:09:13SPEAKER_00: What a year for overclock remix.
- 2:09:17SPEAKER_00: Heck of a time to start doing a podcast, I'll tell you what.
- 2:09:20SPEAKER_00: This has been the most active year in a long time.
- 2:09:25SPEAKER_00: And as part of that, there was a big push to make OCR number 5000 happen this year.
- 2:09:32SPEAKER_00: Everyone was speculating, maybe a little betting on the side even, who would snag the coveted number with a lot of zeros.
- 2:09:41SPEAKER_00: And here comes Jeffrey Tosser with an insane Zelda Eagles pastiche.
- 2:09:47SPEAKER_00: Silly Jeffrey.
- 2:09:50SPEAKER_00: Not eagles.
- 2:09:52SPEAKER_00: What a trap! I mean, aside from the obvious appeal of, wait a second, this is Hotel California Zelda, the performances are stellar.
- 2:10:02SPEAKER_00: This guy really knows his way around a guitar.
- 2:10:05SPEAKER_00: The mixpost describes it as an instant classic, and I can't disagree.
- 2:10:10SPEAKER_00: So, I don't do New Year's resolutions, I do New Year's challenges.
- 2:10:15SPEAKER_00: And while a lot of people challenge themselves to get more exercise or eat healthy, which I really do should do, I always end up challenging myself to something, let's say, unproductive.
- 2:10:27SPEAKER_00: This year's challenges, how many Zelda games can I beat in a year?
- 2:10:32SPEAKER_00: I'm playing them in release order, and I'm not trying to 100% them or anything, but I'm also trying to do more than the bare minimum.
- 2:10:41SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I'm already on Ocarina of Time, so now you know what I've been doing instead of writing, recording, and editing this podcast.
- 2:10:48SPEAKER_00: But to celebrate this new year's Zelda challenge that I placed on myself, no one asked me to do this.
- 2:10:55SPEAKER_00: And also because I'm out of time to do something more extensive, let's close things out with a block of a few of my favorite Zelda remixes over the years.
- 2:11:05SPEAKER_00: But let's do that in a fun way.
- 2:11:08SPEAKER_00: I'm going to do my top five Zelda games, from least to most favorite, one remix from each.
- 2:11:15SPEAKER_00: Let's generate some controversy.
- 2:12:33SPEAKER_05: To the finder, the Isle of Cahulant is but an illusion.
- 2:12:40SPEAKER_05: You monster see sky.
- 2:12:45SPEAKER_05: A scene on the lid of a sleeper's eye.
- 2:12:50SPEAKER_05: Awake the dreamer, and Cahulant will vanish much like a bubble on a needle.
- 2:12:58SPEAKER_05: Cast away.
- 2:13:00SPEAKER_05: You should know that will be a big deal.
- 2:32:51SPEAKER_06: Let's see what happens.
- 2:35:12SPEAKER_06: Bring it a beat.
- 2:35:13SPEAKER_06: One, two, one, one, one, one, two, three.
- 2:35:17SPEAKER_06: The night before the cataclysm, symbols of virtue.
- 2:35:20SPEAKER_06: Got a big ass knife in the ground, gonna hurt you.
- 2:35:23SPEAKER_06: Keeping my line true like fine crews.
- 2:35:25SPEAKER_06: And when I get through with you, ain't no tattoo gonna cover that blue.
- 2:35:28SPEAKER_06: I got this voice in my head, and he's stroking my ego, saying the master sword is all I'll ever need.
- 2:35:32SPEAKER_06: Wherever we go.
- 2:35:33SPEAKER_06: It's a steel that makes evil retreat.
- 2:35:35SPEAKER_06: Beat feet, go skeep.
- 2:35:36SPEAKER_06: Well, damn, that sounds great.
- 2:35:37SPEAKER_06: Let's go drop him a beat.
- 2:35:43SPEAKER_12: Let's go drop him a beat.
- 2:36:00SPEAKER_06: Here I come, baby, the hero of the ages.
- 2:36:03SPEAKER_06: Gonna give Dan and Dork a pope with the sword of the sages.
- 2:36:06SPEAKER_06: All the angels in heaven singing a hell of a chorus, and I can only find my way out of this goddamn forest.
- 2:36:13SPEAKER_06: Was it a left here?
- 2:36:16SPEAKER_06: Shit.
- 2:37:00SPEAKER_00: Let's go over them one by one.
- 2:37:02SPEAKER_00: That first track was To the Finder by Will Rock and Expert Novice from The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening.
- 2:37:12SPEAKER_00: Absolute classic game.
- 2:37:15SPEAKER_00: I love both the Game Boy version and the extraordinarily faithful Switch remake.
- 2:37:22SPEAKER_00: After that was Phi, Emissary of the Goddess by Rebecca E.
- 2:37:27SPEAKER_00: Tripp from The Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword.
- 2:37:31SPEAKER_00: I maintain that Skyward Sword is an underrated game.
- 2:37:36SPEAKER_00: If you take the time to learn how to use them, the motion controls are great.
- 2:37:41SPEAKER_00: And musically, I think it is my favorite game in the series.
- 2:37:46SPEAKER_00: Phi's theme might be my single favorite Zelda theme.
- 2:37:52SPEAKER_00: When Nintendo decided to go orchestral with Zelda, they went big.
- 2:37:57SPEAKER_00: My third favorite Zelda game is The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, and our track from that was Take Flight by Fusion 42.
- 2:38:09SPEAKER_00: After that is my all-time favorite 3D Zelda game.
- 2:38:14SPEAKER_00: We have the track Boy Small Fry from Hyperduck Soundworks from The Legend of Zelda, The Wind Waker.
- 2:38:23SPEAKER_00: And The Wind Waker is my favorite 3D Zelda because I feel like it was the first time we had the large world promised by earlier Zelda games finally realized.
- 2:38:36SPEAKER_00: And sure, yeah, a lot of it was ocean, but it was a magnificent, if a little bit flawed, game.
- 2:38:44SPEAKER_00: I also particularly loved the way that this track mixes several themes from across all of Zelda in the style of the Wind Waker.
- 2:38:56SPEAKER_00: It does a magnificent job of incorporating Zelda's lullaby in particular.
- 2:39:03SPEAKER_00: Last up, a track from my all-time favorite Zelda game, We're the Fugawe Forest by Expert Novice and Weastie from The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past, which is my all-time favorite Zelda.
- 2:39:17SPEAKER_00: It established the formula that we think of as Zelda.
- 2:39:22SPEAKER_00: Zelda 1, Zelda 2.
- 2:39:25SPEAKER_00: They were just playing around.
- 2:39:27SPEAKER_00: A Link to the Past is where Zelda became Zelda.
- 2:39:32SPEAKER_00: Anyway, that's another year in the bag.
- 2:39:36SPEAKER_00: 2025 ended up being an incredible year for Overclocked Remix.
- 2:39:40SPEAKER_00: We hit the big 500.

- 2:40:50SPEAKER_00: Our interstitial music this month was Cluck Old Cuckoo by World's Best Grandpa from The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past.
- 2:40:58SPEAKER_00: And our outro music has been A Link to the Future by DDRKirby ISQ from The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past.
- 2:41:08SPEAKER_00: Last but not least, we have a tradition here on the podcast from the days of your several hosts ago, where on the Overclock Remix main page, if you scroll down a bit, there's a section called the Remix Roulette with six random tracks on it.
- 2:41:24SPEAKER_00: I have with me right now a six-sided die.
- 2:41:27SPEAKER_00: I am gonna roll it, we're gonna see what we get, and that will be our playout music.
- 2:41:31SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 2:41:33SPEAKER_00: That's number two.
- 2:41:34SPEAKER_00: So from Castlevania, we have Simon Belmont's Garage by Rosenkrantz and Gilden Stern.
- 2:41:41SPEAKER_00: Alright, everyone, have a great rest of your month.
