- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with her radio. Hi. Well, hello,
- 0:07Speaker 1: Trisa Sutter Nay. Are you are you today on this
- 0:11Speaker 1: beautiful Wednesday, almost Father's Day. I am doing great, Thank you.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I'm having a little bit of an emergency on my hands.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I was trying to do something good and my wife's
- 0:24Speaker 1: phone someone dumped water on it. You know. We put
- 0:26Speaker 1: it in rice for a couple of days. So I
- 0:29Speaker 1: decided it was a good time to switch phone service too,
- 0:33Speaker 1: So I went and got us new phones and I
- 0:35Speaker 1: switched everything over, and for some reason, her photos and
- 0:39Speaker 1: videos haven't fully restored yet, and it's been twenty four hours,
- 0:42Speaker 1: and we're like, what and with the you know, with
- 0:48Speaker 1: the new phone deal and everything, you now trade in
- 0:50Speaker 1: your old phone, so they wipe your old phone and
- 0:52Speaker 1: you trade it in, and I'm just like, oh my gosh,
- 0:55Speaker 1: So does she have it backed up anywhere? Yeah, we
- 0:58Speaker 1: backed it up. We have it backed up on the cloud,
- 1:00Speaker 1: but it's not showing up in the cloud. We have
- 1:05Speaker 1: done this two times, like five years ago, ten years ago.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I lost I'm going to assume it was probably around
- 1:15Speaker 1: pictures um from from my phone, kind of the same
- 1:22Speaker 1: same sort of thing. It is. It is so scary
- 1:26Speaker 1: how we are so reliant on our technology. And honestly,
- 1:33Speaker 1: for me, pictures are my memory. Like if I don't
- 1:35Speaker 1: have a picture, I don't remember something. I really think
- 1:39Speaker 1: that I have a memory disorder or whatever you want
- 1:42Speaker 1: to call it. I think I always have. I don't
- 1:45Speaker 1: think it's just mommy brain, even though that is always
- 1:48Speaker 1: my excuse. There you go. Yeah, but I've always had
- 1:54Speaker 1: a bad memory, and it's genetic too, So pictures are
- 1:59Speaker 1: like my thing that you have to have to remember
- 2:02Speaker 1: your life. And I'm so sorry. That is so frustrating.
- 2:06Speaker 1: She has you know, she had a couple of videos
- 2:07Speaker 1: on there from you know, our our son Blake just
- 2:11Speaker 1: learning to walk, and then she she apparently made me
- 2:14Speaker 1: some very very nice video for Father's Day that she made.
- 2:18Speaker 1: You know, it's not showing up so I haven't seen
- 2:21Speaker 1: that one obviously, but it's just it's a real it's
- 2:24Speaker 1: a real bummer bummer. Yeah, yeah, it's a downer. Well,
- 2:28Speaker 1: you know what, this podcast today, our Chat on a
- 2:31Speaker 1: fo G, is going to pick you up because we've
- 2:33Speaker 1: got some really fun guys who I know you love
- 2:36Speaker 1: just as much as I do. Um Andrew Firestone and
- 2:41Speaker 1: Jason Mesnick will be joining us today. It's kind of
- 2:43Speaker 1: a Father's day, uh celebration if you will on the
- 2:48Speaker 1: podcast because we want we wanted to talk to some
- 2:52Speaker 1: fathers in Bachelor Nation, and Jason Mesnick I believe was
- 2:58Speaker 1: the first lead to have a kid, all right, not
- 3:04Speaker 1: even the girl. I don't think the girls either. I
- 3:06Speaker 1: think that he was the first one to have a
- 3:09Speaker 1: child as the lead of Bachelor or Bachelor at Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I think that. Yeah, they just did a thing for
- 3:16Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation, reached out to me and did this interview
- 3:19Speaker 1: which I thought was really cool. I did for Mother's Day.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Did Yeah, it was so nice. It was so nice.
- 3:27Speaker 1: It actually it actually made me made me like just
- 3:29Speaker 1: really kind of nostalgic, you know, thinking about you know,
- 3:32Speaker 1: oh my gosh, now I am a dad. Like I
- 3:34Speaker 1: was thinking about it from the standpoint of like my dad,
- 3:36Speaker 1: you know, so when they were asking these questions like, well,
- 3:38Speaker 1: you know, this is when I think of that, and
- 3:40Speaker 1: this's why I think of this, and then all of
- 3:41Speaker 1: a sudden, like wait a minute, I'm the dad now,
- 3:44Speaker 1: Like I've got to be on point for these things
- 3:47Speaker 1: and you know, responsible, I want to be there for
- 3:49Speaker 1: my kids and it's kind of a nice it's a
- 3:52Speaker 1: sobering moment when you're sitting there, I will tell you
- 3:54Speaker 1: that my favorite my favorite answer or my favorite question
- 3:57Speaker 1: and the answer experience on that and maybe you can
- 3:59Speaker 1: remember your from mother day, but it was you know.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Do you have any advice for new dads, I said, Actually,
- 4:05Speaker 1: I don't have an advice for the new dads. I
- 4:07Speaker 1: do have advice for people who don't yet have kids, though,
- 4:10Speaker 1: and my my advice wise, um, don't be so quick
- 4:14Speaker 1: to judge, you know, like when you're at a rest
- 4:16Speaker 1: story and you see, you know, the family over there
- 4:19Speaker 1: and the kids on his phone or as I pad,
- 4:20Speaker 1: don't be so quick to be like because I I
- 4:22Speaker 1: think I told you this before, but I've been like, no,
- 4:25Speaker 1: that will never be me. And then all of a sudden,
- 4:27Speaker 1: when your dad's like that, I pad is your best
- 4:28Speaker 1: friend in the world at the restaurant, you know what
- 4:30Speaker 1: I mean, It's the best thing that can possibly do.
- 4:32Speaker 1: So yeah, no, I I completely agree. I think that
- 4:37Speaker 1: it's really hard, uh for people who don't. I mean,
- 4:41Speaker 1: it's like anything else in life, right, you can't understand
- 4:44Speaker 1: what people are going through unless you've been in their shoes.
- 4:46Speaker 1: And it's the same thing with just parenthood in general.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Like you you really and even individual parents, like you
- 4:53Speaker 1: can't judge other parents for what they're going to do.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You have to respect everybody for the way that they're
- 4:57Speaker 1: going to do it. I remember I did, Um, we
- 5:00Speaker 1: did the cry atout method for helping our kids sleep.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So we didn't want our kids sleeping in our bed
- 5:06Speaker 1: because we just felt like, that's our bed. We want
- 5:08Speaker 1: our time with you know, our private time in our bedroom,
- 5:13Speaker 1: and we chose to do cry it out actually after
- 5:16Speaker 1: the advice of Brad Paisley, which is funny, um, but
- 5:21Speaker 1: the best piece of advice we ever got, because our
- 5:23Speaker 1: kids sleep really well. And I remember people just being like, oh,
- 5:29Speaker 1: how can you do that? That's cruel to have them
- 5:31Speaker 1: cry it out? And I'm like, you know what, whatever
- 5:33Speaker 1: floats your boat as a parent obviously within limits or
- 5:36Speaker 1: you know, with regard to their safety and happiness and
- 5:41Speaker 1: all of that. And we kept them safe. But it
- 5:43Speaker 1: is it is really challenging, um, is to not look
- 5:47Speaker 1: at someone else's situation and be judgment Well, we have
- 5:50Speaker 1: so my son comes in twice a night on the average,
- 5:53Speaker 1: like we'll put him go to sleep on seven o'clock.
- 5:56Speaker 1: By midnight he comes with daddy, you know, not Blake,
- 5:59Speaker 1: not no no Grace. Yeah great, Yeah, So I'll pick
- 6:02Speaker 1: Grason up, I'll take him back to his bed, I'll
- 6:04Speaker 1: lay dine with him for a little bit. I'll fall asleep.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I come back to my bed next thing, you know, daddy.
- 6:08Speaker 1: And so we're like, how are we going to break
- 6:10Speaker 1: him with this? You know? And one we have some
- 6:14Speaker 1: some people we know that were like, we just locked
- 6:16Speaker 1: the door from the outside. I'm like, I can't do that.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I cannot. I'm like, I'm gonna have no problem with
- 6:23Speaker 1: the crying out method in the crib and everything. I'm like,
- 6:25Speaker 1: but man, I go my son, like he can talk
- 6:27Speaker 1: and walk and I don't want to hear him. Just
- 6:29Speaker 1: pound it on the door. Liked, why am I locked
- 6:31Speaker 1: in here? You know? Yeah, so I wouldn't be able
- 6:35Speaker 1: to do that either. But but hey, whatever floats your boat.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Whoever gave you that piece of advice, if that worked
- 6:40Speaker 1: for them, yeah, I work for them. They said, you know,
- 6:43Speaker 1: did a little damage the first a couple of nights,
- 6:45Speaker 1: the first four years hours, but after that they were
- 6:48Speaker 1: you know, he was sleeping through the night and everything
- 6:50Speaker 1: was good. I'm like, well, I'm getting to the point
- 6:52Speaker 1: where maybe that's something I might have to consider. I
- 6:54Speaker 1: don't know, Yeah right. Um. I also my piece of
- 6:59Speaker 1: advice in that article, I actually just looked it up.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And my other my advice to fellow parents was don't
- 7:06Speaker 1: ever be too proud to ask for help. There you go.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I just feel like everyone needs help sometimes. And I
- 7:14Speaker 1: have a great group of of moms in my valley,
- 7:18Speaker 1: in the Vale Valley, who you know, whether we grew
- 7:21Speaker 1: up raising our kids together or we're kind of finding
- 7:24Speaker 1: ourselves in similar situations in life, like you just rely
- 7:27Speaker 1: on each other. I feel like everyone needs help, So
- 7:30Speaker 1: don't be afraid to ask for help, even if you're
- 7:33Speaker 1: got a newborn at home, or a fifteen year old
- 7:36Speaker 1: or a thirty year old or whatever. Don't be afraid
- 7:38Speaker 1: to ask for help. You have a thirty year old
- 7:40Speaker 1: living in your basement, ask for help. Yeah, can you
- 7:45Speaker 1: please provide me a meal? Train? Trust us? You want
- 7:49Speaker 1: to get that kid out of your base. And I'm
- 7:50Speaker 1: just kidding. Now, my kids are like four and five
- 7:55Speaker 1: years away from leaving, and I've been having more and
- 7:58Speaker 1: more conversations about about that happening and what I'm going
- 8:02Speaker 1: to do, and I am just like I am going
- 8:05Speaker 1: to lose it. I'm gonna lose it when my kids leave.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I will not be able to handle it. You're not
- 8:13Speaker 1: looking forward to it. I'm not looking forward to the
- 8:16Speaker 1: kids being gone, because I do like my life revolves
- 8:20Speaker 1: around them and their schedule. I am looking forward to,
- 8:23Speaker 1: you know, time with Ryan, but I'm sure he's the same.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Like it's just gonna be. It's going to be a
- 8:30Speaker 1: huge adjustment and one that I'm just gonna be. It
- 8:35Speaker 1: makes me want to call my mom like right now,
- 8:38Speaker 1: and my dad and say I'm really sorry I don't
- 8:40Speaker 1: call you every day. Oh my god. So I'm gonna
- 8:44Speaker 1: look like a father of the year here or son
- 8:46Speaker 1: of the year. Do you know? I talked to my
- 8:48Speaker 1: mom every single day, every day, every morning. So it's
- 8:52Speaker 1: gotten to the point where, you know, especially since my
- 8:54Speaker 1: dad passed away, I feel like she's really hanging her
- 8:57Speaker 1: hat on my calls. And maybe I'm putting too much.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I might be, you know, putting too much out my phone?
- 9:02Speaker 1: Are not? You are not? Because that is what I think, Like,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I don't know how I'm not going to have contact
- 9:08Speaker 1: with my kids. Yeah, I don't know how I'm going
- 9:11Speaker 1: to do it. And I'm so I'm sure your mom
- 9:13Speaker 1: is so appreciative. I need to do that. Oh yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I just she literally says every day, she's like, thank
- 9:17Speaker 1: you for calling, you know yesterday, give you like a
- 9:20Speaker 1: Sunday and I forget to call or something yesterday when
- 9:22Speaker 1: you didn't call, I thought, well, Bobby should be calling
- 9:25Speaker 1: any minute now. And I'm like, oh, marries her. Y,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I can't miss it, like you my phone. My phone
- 9:31Speaker 1: rings in as well. So if you ever want to call,
- 9:33Speaker 1: you know, if you're that work here. Yeah, that's what
- 9:40Speaker 1: I always tell. So my dad is remarried, has been
- 9:43Speaker 1: for I mean over thirty years, I think. And my
- 9:47Speaker 1: step mom always says, we just don't know when to call,
- 9:50Speaker 1: like what is a good time. I'm like, really never,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but always, you know, just never always. That's what I say.
- 9:58Speaker 1: When I lived on the West Coast and my mom
- 9:59Speaker 1: was a MISSI and she'd be like, well, honey, with
- 10:01Speaker 1: the time change, I never know when to call. What's
- 10:02Speaker 1: a good time? Like never, and always I'm like, it's
- 10:05Speaker 1: never gonna be a great time, but I'm always going
- 10:07Speaker 1: to answer it if I can so I agree, So
- 10:10Speaker 1: try I'd like, all right, yeah, go ahead, go ahead,
- 10:15Speaker 1: go ahead. No, I was gonna say that Andrew is
- 10:17Speaker 1: in the waiting room, but do you have another story
- 10:19Speaker 1: before we bring him in? No, I I don't. I'm
- 10:21Speaker 1: so excited to talk to him. Let's grab him. There
- 10:34Speaker 1: he is, Tan, look at the Tan. Are you now?
- 10:39Speaker 1: Are you in Santa Barbara? Yes? Home, it's home, very nice.
- 10:45Speaker 1: What's up, buddy? What's going on? Mr Bob? I was
- 10:48Speaker 1: just saying that you are my favorite Bachelor of all time.
- 10:51Speaker 1: That's weird because I'm on the call. No, no, it's
- 10:54Speaker 1: just the truth. Whenever anyone asks, like you know, they
- 10:57Speaker 1: always go, you know who you've watched all the season? Like, well,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I I've missed the last you know, sixteen. But I
- 11:02Speaker 1: would say of the shows I did watch, Andrew was
- 11:05Speaker 1: always my favorite Bachelor because there's a reason for it,
- 11:08Speaker 1: and I loved how like. I don't know if you remember,
- 11:12Speaker 1: as I told this story to Trista a few weeks ago,
- 11:15Speaker 1: how you and I were together in New York when
- 11:17Speaker 1: my show premiered and we had the best time. We're
- 11:20Speaker 1: in this cool bar, we're watching it, and you know,
- 11:23Speaker 1: you go out in Times Square and all this kind
- 11:25Speaker 1: of great stuff, and all I could think of was
- 11:27Speaker 1: there was this line where I'm pouring like blue Nun
- 11:29Speaker 1: for somebody, and I'm like, this is from the Guinea
- 11:31Speaker 1: Stone Vineyards, and Andrew looked at me, goes really bro really,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I know. I was like, I've got like my my
- 11:37Speaker 1: last thirty seconds of fame, and you're already stepping on me.
- 11:40Speaker 1: So it was truth. Matter was. I was like, man,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I just really would love to have my wine my
- 11:48Speaker 1: name on a bottle of wine. You know, that would
- 11:49Speaker 1: be pretty awesome. But I think you can now you
- 11:52Speaker 1: can probably pay Andrew to do that for you. I
- 11:54Speaker 1: bet yes. And then a few years ago, I mean
- 12:00Speaker 1: it's probably I mean this is probably like probably seven
- 12:02Speaker 1: or eight years ago now. Um. It was in uh um, California,
- 12:07Speaker 1: doing like a wine tasting tour with some friends and
- 12:10Speaker 1: ended up at Andrew's place and I loved it. We
- 12:13Speaker 1: came in, it was like I didn't expect to see
- 12:15Speaker 1: m He's there, We're hanging out. It was awesome. I
- 12:17Speaker 1: loved it. So continued success there to you, buddy, Yeah, totally,
- 12:21Speaker 1: it's a beautiful winery. Same same um. Okay, So we Andrew,
- 12:25Speaker 1: we kind of wanted to have a couple of cool
- 12:28Speaker 1: dads on here. Mesnik is coming on later, but um,
- 12:31Speaker 1: we wanted to have some cool o g dads, and
- 12:34Speaker 1: so kicking off with the kind of father's day um dialogue,
- 12:39Speaker 1: I wanted to tell a funny story, um that I'm
- 12:43Speaker 1: pretty sure Evanna has told you or that this is
- 12:46Speaker 1: the plan. Okay, is she in the rooms? So she's been.
- 12:50Speaker 1: She's been setting up my station here, but at the office,
- 12:54Speaker 1: I'm at home, so I'm her equipment here. She's drinking coffee,
- 12:57Speaker 1: just judging me right now, making chalkboard every time my
- 13:02Speaker 1: stutter something stupid. Right, Yeah, Hi, thanks for being his assistant. Okay,
- 13:14Speaker 1: So okay, So our kids were born Brooks, which made
- 13:18Speaker 1: me think of this. So when you pop up on
- 13:21Speaker 1: the zoom call, it says Brooks Firestone. So I don't
- 13:23Speaker 1: know if you're using Brooks's computer or Avanna has Brooks listed.
- 13:30Speaker 1: His technology is way nicer than mine. Right, So when
- 13:34Speaker 1: he was born, Blakesley, my daughter, and Brooks were born
- 13:38Speaker 1: right around the same time. I think Brooks was born
- 13:40Speaker 1: a couple of weeks before Blakesley. And so when he
- 13:43Speaker 1: was born and I was about to have Blakesley. I
- 13:46Speaker 1: think I reached out to Vanna and I was like, Okay,
- 13:48Speaker 1: I've got DIBs. We're going to have a planned wedding Brooks.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And I didn't know if I was allowed to blow
- 13:56Speaker 1: this up or not, but blow it up. The term
- 14:00Speaker 1: is sliding into the d M. Blake's blas so oh no,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and and vice versa. She okay, so listen, So I
- 14:07Speaker 1: have to tell you. She's always like, hey, mom, will
- 14:10Speaker 1: you write Avana and tell her that Brooks left me
- 14:13Speaker 1: on Red? And so he needs to respond. That's funny.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I don't know what. I don't know what that means,
- 14:20Speaker 1: but it doesn't sound good. Means that they read, they
- 14:25Speaker 1: read the d M, and that they didn't respond to
- 14:28Speaker 1: the d M. They just read it. So she's like,
- 14:31Speaker 1: he left me on Red? What does that mean? I'm like,
- 14:33Speaker 1: Blake's you're thirteen years old. I think we've got some time.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Maybe you'll meet him one day. I mean, but she
- 14:40Speaker 1: just he's he's so, he had some He's a gorgeous
- 14:44Speaker 1: kid Ingred at soccer and I like your late in
- 14:49Speaker 1: life step into modeling. I've been really enjoying watching this
- 14:55Speaker 1: and I mean It's been fun to watch because I
- 14:57Speaker 1: mean we always knew Ivanna, and then of course and
- 15:00Speaker 1: with all the kids, and then all of a sudden,
- 15:02Speaker 1: here comes Andrew. I'm like I think, but so like
- 15:06Speaker 1: a lot of times, like when you like, when you
- 15:08Speaker 1: go out to like a bar, you always want to
- 15:11Speaker 1: bring like a shorter friend. So like you feel like,
- 15:14Speaker 1: so Ivanna brings me around and the kids bring me
- 15:16Speaker 1: around and make everybody else look better. Stop it, you
- 15:21Speaker 1: see me, Grace the page page thirty seven and thirty
- 15:24Speaker 1: eight of the Spring Catalog of Coals. Yeah, I'm yeah
- 15:30Speaker 1: a turquoise, uh, you know, high cut, short and wrap
- 15:35Speaker 1: around glasses. So I like it. And back then, and
- 15:45Speaker 1: my my modeling career is just really started to pick off.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I'm up, come up for for a men's diaper campaign,
- 15:54Speaker 1: so stop, and I'm pretty proud of it, proud of
- 15:57Speaker 1: that work I've done there. Yeah, well that's one that's
- 16:00Speaker 1: a tough one to model because it's it's more active
- 16:02Speaker 1: and less passive as I as I as I remember,
- 16:04Speaker 1: but one of the most nerve wracking things. So my
- 16:07Speaker 1: my daughter, my eleven year old on here, so she
- 16:09Speaker 1: she does a lot of this stuff and so she's
- 16:12Speaker 1: working for Abercrombie right now. And Juanna, who is you know,
- 16:15Speaker 1: a seasoned model and doing it her whole life. I mean,
- 16:18Speaker 1: she's just like Johnny on the spot, knows what's going on.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I get there, and I know, Trista, you you've been
- 16:23Speaker 1: on the sidelines for you know, for hockey games or
- 16:25Speaker 1: lacrosse games or whatever else. I am all of those
- 16:29Speaker 1: moms put together that like so ancient and like there's
- 16:33Speaker 1: usually like you have kid wranglers to help with the
- 16:35Speaker 1: kid they have like they have a dad wrangler just
- 16:37Speaker 1: for me to like surve need to start sit way
- 16:43Speaker 1: over here and leave me alone. A couple of times
- 16:49Speaker 1: been allowed to be on the set. But I'm going
- 16:50Speaker 1: up with her in two weeks to San Francisco for
- 16:54Speaker 1: an Old Navy campaign and she's already giving me like
- 16:57Speaker 1: the other layout, Like listen, dad, I'll be okay, Like
- 17:00Speaker 1: you just sit over your iPad and leave me alone.
- 17:03Speaker 1: So is really on thin? So your following career is
- 17:09Speaker 1: all about them? Which isn't life? That's pretty much life
- 17:13Speaker 1: as a father as a mother about them? Um okay,
- 17:16Speaker 1: So big question is three is done for you guys? Right?
- 17:20Speaker 1: Are you done? I would say that modern medicine. Agree
- 17:24Speaker 1: with that? Okay, yeah, then yeah, maybe it's all snip
- 17:28Speaker 1: snip action. I see that there'd be a long conversation
- 17:32Speaker 1: if Avon it becomes pregnant, we're gonna have some crazy
- 17:36Speaker 1: just made my made my appointment for the consultation. Yes,
- 17:40Speaker 1: and all I know is I'm stocking up on frozen
- 17:42Speaker 1: peas as I've been told. Yes, uh, yeah, I know.
- 17:46Speaker 1: We have three. You know, Brooks is thirteen now on
- 17:48Speaker 1: his eleven, Shane is eight. We've got three chickens and
- 17:52Speaker 1: a French bulldog. So my life is full of children
- 17:56Speaker 1: and animals and life and so I'm very very happy.
- 17:59Speaker 1: And yeah, we've gone ahead and set the set the
- 18:03Speaker 1: boundaries for for what we have right now in terms
- 18:05Speaker 1: of bedrooms and people living in them. Yeah, we don't
- 18:10Speaker 1: want to have to build a wing. So when you
- 18:14Speaker 1: guys got together, was three the magic number from the start?
- 18:17Speaker 1: Or did both of you want to have kids? Like?
- 18:19Speaker 1: What was that luck conference? Yes? I mean I think
- 18:21Speaker 1: that we we both wanted you know, a big family,
- 18:24Speaker 1: and and we wanted three kids. Um, you know, and
- 18:27Speaker 1: we had we had our Brooks was right away. We
- 18:29Speaker 1: had you know, Brooks was born like nine months in
- 18:32Speaker 1: a day after our weddings, after my mother's sake, because
- 18:37Speaker 1: she's been counting the weeks making sure that it was
- 18:40Speaker 1: in fact all leg was. So we had we had
- 18:44Speaker 1: Brooks first, and then you know, on You came along
- 18:46Speaker 1: twenty five months later, and then we had a three
- 18:49Speaker 1: year gap till until until Shane came along. And you know,
- 18:54Speaker 1: it was you know, each one of them, you know,
- 18:56Speaker 1: as every parent says, and they add so much to
- 19:01Speaker 1: know individually, to to to to me, but to the
- 19:03Speaker 1: family dynamic something a little bit different. And all three
- 19:08Speaker 1: of them are so different. You know, my my my son,
- 19:10Speaker 1: my eldest son is very into sports. My daughter is
- 19:13Speaker 1: very into anything on the on the stage or music.
- 19:17Speaker 1: My youngest son is you know, it's got legos where
- 19:19Speaker 1: he can take it apart or piss me off. He
- 19:21Speaker 1: loves that. But they're all so different and special and
- 19:25Speaker 1: that's you know that, It's just it. I couldn't imagine
- 19:28Speaker 1: our family any different, which is weird today. So when
- 19:31Speaker 1: Bond and I got together, you know, seventeen years ago,
- 19:35Speaker 1: I couldn't have everything that I thought was going to be.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Is that in so much work, um and uh so
- 19:42Speaker 1: it's feeling very blessed. I'm getting I'm getting all choked
- 19:44Speaker 1: up talking about it. I love it, and I'm usually
- 19:48Speaker 1: it's usually me that is doing the water work, so
- 19:49Speaker 1: I appreciate you coming on it. I'm usually every time
- 19:52Speaker 1: you're talking about, you know, being a dad, I'm like,
- 19:55Speaker 1: I'm just breaking down. I mean, I I decided to
- 19:58Speaker 1: wait till I was fourty seven to have my his kids.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I really felt like everyone else had kind of done
- 20:02Speaker 1: it already, you know, and I wanted to just really
- 20:04Speaker 1: put my own stamp on that, and it was gonna
- 20:06Speaker 1: be you really matured about forty six and a half.
- 20:08Speaker 1: So I think I killed ourselves. You hit the nail
- 20:12Speaker 1: right on the head. But guys fighting over toys and
- 20:15Speaker 1: fighting over you know, I want I want the red Legos. Yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 1: now it's now. It's gonna be great because you know,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I'll be the dad, you know at the sea ball
- 20:22Speaker 1: games and they're gonna be like your Grandpa's awesome, He's
- 20:25Speaker 1: at every game. Why does his walker look so well,
- 20:28Speaker 1: you know, he's a Yeah, that's gonna be so. So
- 20:32Speaker 1: what are you doing for a Father's Day? Do you
- 20:34Speaker 1: have any plans? Uh? So? I mean imagine you know
- 20:37Speaker 1: it's going to be a C d C opening up
- 20:39Speaker 1: for the Rolling Stones Blue you know, just camp it
- 20:43Speaker 1: all day. Um, it sounds about right. It's a little
- 20:46Speaker 1: bit of a surprise. Um. So you mean it's either
- 20:49Speaker 1: a surprise or nothing's playing. But the face is really
- 20:53Speaker 1: really good right now. So usually, um, you know, I
- 20:58Speaker 1: have a stack of card that I that I've kept
- 21:00Speaker 1: over the years of the kids. Handwriting has gotten a
- 21:03Speaker 1: little bit better over the years. But yeah, yeah, but
- 21:07Speaker 1: it'll be, it'll be. We're here. How are you doing
- 21:10Speaker 1: out of a scoreboard right now? As far as you know,
- 21:12Speaker 1: any any bad marks yet? Are you doing? Okay? I
- 21:15Speaker 1: mean she's looking pretty judge if you right now? Yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 1: I've been tel entary enough to her and not too
- 21:24Speaker 1: foolish of myself. Yeah, there you go. I think you're
- 21:26Speaker 1: doing a great job. Buddy. You guys come out to
- 21:29Speaker 1: Santa Barbara, keep threatening, but for real, didn't and go
- 21:34Speaker 1: wind tasting red motorcycles at the ranch or whatever. That's
- 21:36Speaker 1: a that's a an open invitation. Yeah, oh my gosh,
- 21:40Speaker 1: get the kids together. I don't know, okay. So blake'say
- 21:44Speaker 1: seriously has been like mom, we need to go on
- 21:46Speaker 1: a trip. We need to go on a trip. And
- 21:48Speaker 1: I have a friend who has who plays polo. She
- 21:51Speaker 1: has a ranch out in Santa Barbara and she has
- 21:53Speaker 1: Zebras out there too, And I've always been like, we
- 21:55Speaker 1: need to go see the Zebras, and we could always
- 21:58Speaker 1: make a trip and go see Brooks. Okay, Andrew and Ivana.
- 22:02Speaker 1: That's what we got we gotta get. That's our next
- 22:04Speaker 1: I Heart radio trip right there. Yes, and yeah, I'm
- 22:08Speaker 1: opening up a new hotel in Santa Barbara in October.
- 22:12Speaker 1: So yeah, we have two other ones here down by
- 22:14Speaker 1: the beach. So I mean literally, whatever you guys want
- 22:16Speaker 1: to come out and and visit, we love to have
- 22:18Speaker 1: you and host you guys, and uh, up on the
- 22:21Speaker 1: roof deck, we could do a I don't know, I
- 22:24Speaker 1: heard radio something or other. Yes, gosh, man, you've always
- 22:29Speaker 1: been I mean I've said it before. I think we
- 22:32Speaker 1: did our superlatives a few weeks ago. And uh, what
- 22:36Speaker 1: did I say that Andrew was trista? What did I say?
- 22:38Speaker 1: I think we both said that we thought he was
- 22:42Speaker 1: one of the like the best sense of humor, right,
- 22:45Speaker 1: Oh my god, Yes, I mean, because I've always loved
- 22:47Speaker 1: your sense of humor. You're well, Andrew is a little
- 22:50Speaker 1: What I love about Andrew said humor. We play off
- 22:52Speaker 1: each other very well, frankly. But what I've always loved
- 22:54Speaker 1: andrew sense of humor is he's okay being the guy
- 22:57Speaker 1: who's like just sits back, observes, and then makes very funny,
- 23:00Speaker 1: witty banter. And I love that waiting to see if
- 23:03Speaker 1: it's gonna be funny or mean out of your mouth.
- 23:05Speaker 1: So I'm just like liking a giggle or like literally
- 23:09Speaker 1: like you know, do one of those things and right
- 23:11Speaker 1: down and be like, I'm gonna get him later. But
- 23:13Speaker 1: he list. I doubt that I'm gonna ever get the
- 23:17Speaker 1: most humorous back for next to you, Bob. But but
- 23:20Speaker 1: if I'm somewhere in that, in that atmosphere, I'll take that.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I got thet You get my vote. I think I'm
- 23:27Speaker 1: a clown. You're actually someone I enjoy listening and having funny.
- 23:31Speaker 1: He's a comedian, You're the clown. Yeah, exactly, he's He's funny,
- 23:35Speaker 1: but now always graceful and always always gracious and always
- 23:39Speaker 1: glad to have you on. Buddy. Well, yeah, you guys
- 23:41Speaker 1: can come out to Santa Barbara. Up standing invitations see
- 23:44Speaker 1: you guys out of your stone, your families parting words.
- 23:51Speaker 1: How do I do You did a good job. I
- 23:53Speaker 1: did a great I think you said a great job.
- 23:55Speaker 1: She said a great job. Two thumbs up over here
- 23:58Speaker 1: in Anna. Thank you buddy, Happy you guys, Happy Father's Day.
- 24:08Speaker 1: See the best a guy. I'm telling you, Yeah, I agree.
- 24:14Speaker 1: I agree. I've always loved him. He's been my You
- 24:18Speaker 1: and him are my are my Well I can't say
- 24:21Speaker 1: this now that Jason is coming in, but you're like,
- 24:25Speaker 1: can you hear me already? Sorry? But yeah, I mean,
- 24:30Speaker 1: I feel like we just connected because we were really
- 24:32Speaker 1: early on the three of us, like whether we were
- 24:35Speaker 1: doing photo shoots like he and I, UM and Jen
- 24:38Speaker 1: and Ryan did a photo shoot. I think it was
- 24:40Speaker 1: an aspen somewhere in Colorado, but we connected there and
- 24:43Speaker 1: then we had the photo shoot with me, you and Um,
- 24:46Speaker 1: Ali and Emily and Andrew UM. So, like, you know,
- 24:52Speaker 1: because I think because we just connected over a bunch
- 24:55Speaker 1: of um different opportunities that well, right, we were all
- 25:01Speaker 1: the same era. So it's kind of like you you
- 25:03Speaker 1: feel comfortable knowing who you know and and the fact
- 25:06Speaker 1: that we've all remained friends for so many years is
- 25:08Speaker 1: so nice because you know it doesn't have to work
- 25:11Speaker 1: out that way, you hope that it does, and and
- 25:13Speaker 1: it's such a blessing I think for all of us
- 25:16Speaker 1: that that we have each other to kind of go
- 25:18Speaker 1: through this stuff with, because it is kind of weird
- 25:20Speaker 1: sometimes and it's nice to be able to like call
- 25:22Speaker 1: each other and go, is this are you experiencing this?
- 25:25Speaker 1: Because I'm kind of going through this, you know or whatever.
- 25:27Speaker 1: It might be nice to have someone to bounce it
- 25:29Speaker 1: off of and who's been there, done that, and you
- 25:31Speaker 1: know it's probably gonna through it with you, So I agree. Hi, Jason,
- 25:47Speaker 1: one of the first people I I hung out with
- 25:49Speaker 1: when I moved to Seattle, our boy, Jason Mesnick. Everybody,
- 25:52Speaker 1: Jason Mesnick. You guys know this is like like you
- 25:58Speaker 1: guys are just a couple of days. Is more O
- 26:00Speaker 1: G than me? Like when I hang out with the
- 26:04Speaker 1: h This is probably going back to like two thousand
- 26:08Speaker 1: ten or eleven. The guys back then would call me
- 26:10Speaker 1: the Godfather. Noah nice. Yeah, I understand that, dude, I'm
- 26:15Speaker 1: still only like thirty three. But like, okay, when you
- 26:22Speaker 1: were the Bachelor, how old were you when you were
- 26:25Speaker 1: the Bachelor? One, okay, yeah, and then you're the godmother.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I get the godfather sometimes too. Actually, now I get
- 26:34Speaker 1: the grandfather. So I guess, well, okay, so one of
- 26:38Speaker 1: our bachelorettes, I will leave her name out of it.
- 26:40Speaker 1: She um in an interview she I think was going
- 26:44Speaker 1: to call me. They usually call me the fairy godmother.
- 26:46Speaker 1: And she was like our fairy grandmother, and I was like,
- 26:49Speaker 1: wait a second, like that's not cool. I'm sorry, but
- 26:53Speaker 1: grandmother and godmother just two way different things. So I
- 27:00Speaker 1: do like, I can't see it. But there's a lot
- 27:02Speaker 1: of great here. Oh I just got my color, and
- 27:05Speaker 1: you guys look great as a kids. Great, I'm a
- 27:11Speaker 1: great great grandfather. I guess no, no, but I'm right
- 27:14Speaker 1: on your tail. I'm fifty this year in October. This
- 27:19Speaker 1: is the year happy, Happy. This is a big year.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I love turning. I almost loved as much as oft
- 27:25Speaker 1: not quite as much stuff. But yeah, what I'm not
- 27:28Speaker 1: really looking forward to it, um just agewise, but you know, celebration.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I'm it's always good to have some kind of celebration
- 27:36Speaker 1: on the show now or what, like they're still in
- 27:37Speaker 1: the early Yeah, yeah, I we literally could be their parents.
- 27:44Speaker 1: You know we could have if we had really, if
- 27:48Speaker 1: we had babies really early in our life. Start it
- 27:51Speaker 1: worked for me and she's twenty one, and I'm like, okay, wait,
- 27:55Speaker 1: I was way out of college when you were born. Yeah, funny, Jason,
- 28:03Speaker 1: how old I'll be forty six in a couple of weeks. Okay,
- 28:08Speaker 1: So yeah, I knew we were close in age, but
- 28:10Speaker 1: yeah we're five years apart. So yeah, I mean I
- 28:12Speaker 1: think about that all the time. Whenever I've done something
- 28:15Speaker 1: and run to someone who's from one of the newer
- 28:16Speaker 1: shows and I'll find a how a they are in Canyon.
- 28:19Speaker 1: My wife will always go, could be your son? Yeah,
- 28:23Speaker 1: I'm like, thanks, thanks. The one thing I remember about
- 28:26Speaker 1: even the show was we were the last season that
- 28:29Speaker 1: was not HD, so you know, like if they showed
- 28:33Speaker 1: old footage like they got the bars on each side, Yeah,
- 28:36Speaker 1: the great like almost black and white. You're the last season.
- 28:40Speaker 1: And I'm like, man, thank God, seriously, little blessings, little
- 28:47Speaker 1: blessings of being the O G S. Yeah, I'll tell
- 28:50Speaker 1: you a lot. It's a forgiving It's a forgiving lens.
- 28:52Speaker 1: The old lenses were forgiving for me. I used to
- 28:55Speaker 1: always say that they would like you know, they say
- 28:57Speaker 1: the camera added ten pounds, and I'd be like, so,
- 28:59Speaker 1: what do you guys shooting me with like twenty cameras?
- 29:00Speaker 1: This is bullshit. I feel a little puffy today. What's
- 29:05Speaker 1: going on? Um? So, we wanted to bring you on
- 29:10Speaker 1: kind of as a little Father's day podcast or hour,
- 29:14Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it. And you were the
- 29:16Speaker 1: first lead to come into the lead position as a father,
- 29:21Speaker 1: So I'd love for you to talk a little bit
- 29:24Speaker 1: about that and being on Jillian season. Were you one
- 29:28Speaker 1: of the first to come on as a cast member
- 29:33Speaker 1: if you will a bachelor on a Bachelorette with child? Yeah,
- 29:39Speaker 1: I think so, I mean, and honestly, I'm pretty sure
- 29:41Speaker 1: that's the only reason I got cast. Like I remember,
- 29:46Speaker 1: I remember like I had some local dude shoot my
- 29:48Speaker 1: casting video. In the old video was tie and I
- 29:53Speaker 1: wearing like matching Michael Jordan Jersey's dunking on h I
- 29:59Speaker 1: mean that's cute. That is super cute. Yeah. Yeah, And
- 30:05Speaker 1: now he got my asked right. I mean, it's crazy.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I got where did he get that height from his mom?
- 30:17Speaker 1: I mean his mom and her family are like straight
- 30:20Speaker 1: from the Giant Vikings. He really is a tall He's
- 30:26Speaker 1: a tall, lean kid, really good looking kids. I mean
- 30:28Speaker 1: it's like, I mean, is he is he pretty active
- 30:30Speaker 1: in sports right now and stuff? Is he just loves it,
- 30:32Speaker 1: you know, it's funny. So he's like, he'll be a
- 30:34Speaker 1: senior next year in high school. And I was sitting
- 30:37Speaker 1: next to like he does his off basket, offseason basketball stuff,
- 30:41Speaker 1: and his coach's wife was like, I never told you this,
- 30:46Speaker 1: but my husband and I are big Bachelor fans. And
- 30:49Speaker 1: I was like, oh crap, did you watch him back
- 30:51Speaker 1: when we were on? They're like hell yeah, and Tyle
- 30:53Speaker 1: was three, right, so yeah, when he first saw ty
- 30:58Speaker 1: this is going on The Bachelor, ty was still pers
- 31:00Speaker 1: and I remember their footage of him and diapers that
- 31:03Speaker 1: his mom t His mom didn't like that. I was like, like,
- 31:07Speaker 1: so that's still his coach's first view of tie four
- 31:10Speaker 1: kid and diaper so long ago. You know. Isn't that
- 31:16Speaker 1: kind of cool though, that this? I mean this and
- 31:19Speaker 1: you know, obviously now social media, which wasn't around. Yeah,
- 31:22Speaker 1: I mean, Jason, he liked been one of the first
- 31:23Speaker 1: seasons that started with some social media stuff too, right,
- 31:27Speaker 1: or I remember like when the season I mean obviously
- 31:29Speaker 1: this season ended so weird, but like, it was such
- 31:32Speaker 1: a big deal on Twitter. And I remember something somebody saying,
- 31:36Speaker 1: like it was a big deal on Twitter and I
- 31:38Speaker 1: had five thousand followers. Yeah, I mean it was a
- 31:41Speaker 1: huge deal and let like to have that many followers,
- 31:44Speaker 1: even five thousand was a lot. Yeah that Hey, So
- 31:49Speaker 1: going back to like you being the first one, how
- 31:52Speaker 1: did that feel like? Were you were? Were you on
- 31:56Speaker 1: edge more than maybe like I like I was on
- 32:00Speaker 1: edge just thinking about how my grandma was watching and
- 32:04Speaker 1: my parents were watching, but you had your son, you
- 32:07Speaker 1: know too, to show that you're this awesome role model
- 32:12Speaker 1: on television. So how did that feel coming in, um,
- 32:15Speaker 1: not having anyone to look to from previous shows? What
- 32:20Speaker 1: were your feelings going in? How did you feel? Um?
- 32:23Speaker 1: I mean that was I mean, honestly, that was the
- 32:25Speaker 1: only reason not to do it. And I think part
- 32:28Speaker 1: of it was I had a big response, like I
- 32:31Speaker 1: was always co parenting with his wife, but at that
- 32:34Speaker 1: time he was with me quite a bit more, um,
- 32:37Speaker 1: And so I think it was much more of like, hey,
- 32:40Speaker 1: how do I figure out like filming the if I
- 32:43Speaker 1: go back to the bachelorette where you have a little
- 32:45Speaker 1: bit less control and less of a voice. You know,
- 32:47Speaker 1: he was staying with like my brother for a while
- 32:50Speaker 1: and then let him fly out to see me. But
- 32:54Speaker 1: on The Bachelor, they gave me a lot more power,
- 32:56Speaker 1: meaning like I would say, hey, like he's got to
- 32:59Speaker 1: be out here all the time, and so I would go, um,
- 33:03Speaker 1: I mean most of the time, you know, at the
- 33:04Speaker 1: house I was staying at, I would go on dates
- 33:07Speaker 1: and then he would just be sitting in my bed
- 33:08Speaker 1: waiting for me when I got home. Like most like
- 33:12Speaker 1: when I think about him, all my memories of I mean,
- 33:15Speaker 1: of course, there's some of the show stuff is like, Okay,
- 33:18Speaker 1: what's Tie doing? Can I get back and see him
- 33:20Speaker 1: and see him in time? You know that that type
- 33:23Speaker 1: of stuff, And they would they would be they were
- 33:25Speaker 1: very good about well most of the time. They were
- 33:28Speaker 1: very good about him being great and making sure that
- 33:32Speaker 1: he's not too cranky in that type of thing. But
- 33:34Speaker 1: I remember the very first concept they had was what
- 33:38Speaker 1: if we have all the girls babysit Tie when he
- 33:41Speaker 1: was three, And I was like, not gonna happen, Yeah,
- 33:44Speaker 1: no way, Like, how about we just got the Los
- 33:47Speaker 1: Angeles Lakers come and just hang out with Yeah. They're like, well,
- 33:52Speaker 1: that's not gonna happen. I'm like, see what I mean, Yeah,
- 33:55Speaker 1: it's not that. If that doesn't happen, this doesn't happen.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Like so they had some wonky ideas because I think
- 34:02Speaker 1: they thought it would be cute for TV. But the
- 34:04Speaker 1: majority of time, I think there were a couple of
- 34:06Speaker 1: things that we did, but the majority of time it
- 34:08Speaker 1: was just like if you saw him, it was with
- 34:11Speaker 1: me in the hotel room or the house or something
- 34:13Speaker 1: like that. Does he remember any of it? No, he
- 34:17Speaker 1: has no, Like he actually like, you know not. All
- 34:22Speaker 1: the seasons are now on Netflix or a lot of
- 34:23Speaker 1: them on Netflix. So when ours was on Netflix, I
- 34:26Speaker 1: think it was right when COVID first hit. He asked
- 34:29Speaker 1: me if he could watch it, and it became like
- 34:31Speaker 1: so he was seven, So he was fifteen at the time,
- 34:34Speaker 1: and it was a big deal because I had to
- 34:35Speaker 1: go talk to his mom about it and she's like, Okay,
- 34:38Speaker 1: like I knew this was gonna happen someday as long
- 34:42Speaker 1: as you explained to him why you did the things
- 34:44Speaker 1: you did and what stuff was TV versus real. Yeah,
- 34:48Speaker 1: but he was. He watched the first couple episodes and
- 34:52Speaker 1: he was like, I was kind of interesting. And after
- 34:54Speaker 1: like episode three or four, he's like, it's so boring,
- 34:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna watch, Like I don't even watch the Seahawks
- 35:00Speaker 1: or whatever I did watch after the final rows with you,
- 35:05Speaker 1: And yeah, I don't think he really cared, like he knew,
- 35:08Speaker 1: like he knew all about it by that point. He
- 35:10Speaker 1: never and like, if I pass forward to now, like Riley,
- 35:14Speaker 1: the only thing Riley's ever watched is the wedding stuff. Yeah,
- 35:18Speaker 1: we haven't let her watch anything else yet. No, she's not.
- 35:21Speaker 1: She I don't feel like she's old enough. I do
- 35:23Speaker 1: have to tell a funny story. So we went to
- 35:25Speaker 1: um Disneyland with Jason and Molly are family and their
- 35:30Speaker 1: their family. It was the best time. We had such
- 35:33Speaker 1: a great time, Um, but I will never forget. It's
- 35:36Speaker 1: kind of like scarred me for life. Is we were
- 35:40Speaker 1: walking around and Ty was kind of in the back
- 35:43Speaker 1: of the pack with me and someone else, maybe me
- 35:46Speaker 1: and Blakesley or me and Max or something, And all
- 35:48Speaker 1: of a sudden he was gone, and I was like, you, guys,
- 35:52Speaker 1: where is Ty? Where is Ty? Thank the Lord, he
- 35:56Speaker 1: had the wherewithal to ask for someone with a Disney tag,
- 36:00Speaker 1: Um tell him that he was lost, and I think
- 36:04Speaker 1: we went back to the place that we had seen him.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Do you remember this, Jason, We were just Molly and
- 36:08Speaker 1: I were just talking about this two days ago, Oh
- 36:11Speaker 1: my gosh, California. But he asked. I was like, oh
- 36:18Speaker 1: my god, I lost Hie. Oh my god. And everyone's like,
- 36:21Speaker 1: it is not your fault, he's my kid or whatever,
- 36:23Speaker 1: so don't like but I'm like, he was back here
- 36:26Speaker 1: with me and then he was gone. I don't know
- 36:28Speaker 1: where he is. Oh. It was so luckily, Remember we
- 36:32Speaker 1: had one of those guided tours and because of that,
- 36:35Speaker 1: you know, everybody's got their mics on, so like it
- 36:38Speaker 1: goes from one guy to one guide to the next.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Will he's leaving, Um, she's gone to look at houses.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Um she went from Uh. They go to all the
- 36:49Speaker 1: different guides and luckily our guide and we're able to
- 36:52Speaker 1: find him real quick. But like, yeah, to lose your
- 36:54Speaker 1: kid at Disneyland, oh my god, Dad, man, Dad, I mean, like,
- 37:03Speaker 1: I know, people go through terrible things with health and
- 37:05Speaker 1: whatnot for their kids. Yeah, not like luckily. The worst thing.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I mean, that was the worst feeling like I've been
- 37:11Speaker 1: at like the playground where you're like you can't see
- 37:13Speaker 1: him for a second and then off the slide or
- 37:16Speaker 1: something like Disneyland. I know. That's why I was speaking out.
- 37:22Speaker 1: I was like, this cannot happen. And all of us
- 37:25Speaker 1: were kind of in our own little little tiny bubbles.
- 37:28Speaker 1: We were walking all as a pack, but obviously there's
- 37:30Speaker 1: crowds of people and oh gosh, it was so scared.
- 37:34Speaker 1: It was California, not Florida too. I mean, California is
- 37:36Speaker 1: you know, huge, but considerably smaller than Florida. Oh my god,
- 37:41Speaker 1: Florida one scares me. You know. It's like, you know,
- 37:43Speaker 1: did he grab a park Hopper and is he an apcot?
- 37:46Speaker 1: I don't even know, you know, Bob, have you guys
- 37:49Speaker 1: done Disney yet? So we did? Um we did this year.
- 37:52Speaker 1: We went. We went to Disney with Grayson at three
- 37:56Speaker 1: and a half in California and it was a burn
- 38:00Speaker 1: burner of a day, super hot, and uh but he wants.
- 38:04Speaker 1: All he cared about was seeing Lightning McQueen and made her,
- 38:08Speaker 1: you know, so you know, we thought he'd be into
- 38:11Speaker 1: the other stuff too. He really just you know, wasn't
- 38:13Speaker 1: super caring about it. So we walk into like the
- 38:15Speaker 1: cars exhibit that they have and man, he was just
- 38:18Speaker 1: like we were walking into the cutest little town in
- 38:20Speaker 1: Carbureader County because he just crazy. He was just having
- 38:24Speaker 1: the best time. And that was awesome. That was like
- 38:26Speaker 1: the most excited I've seen him. And you know, it
- 38:28Speaker 1: was awesome. We get back in the car to come
- 38:30Speaker 1: home and I turned around to go, you know, how
- 38:32Speaker 1: was it, Bunny? And I turned around and he's passed out.
- 38:35Speaker 1: You know, just told done. Of course. You know, whenever
- 38:37Speaker 1: we did Disney, and we did it a lot, I
- 38:39Speaker 1: think we did it like five years in a row,
- 38:41Speaker 1: we always said rules out the window. You can have
- 38:43Speaker 1: as much sugar as you want because we're just gonna
- 38:46Speaker 1: keep you going, going, going. And then at the end
- 38:48Speaker 1: of the day, the goal is to get you to
- 38:50Speaker 1: pass out. And so you have the goal. Oh yeah,
- 38:53Speaker 1: I gave him the big lemonade. He's like sucking it down. King,
- 38:56Speaker 1: It's like, what's he drinking. I'm like, you know, it's
- 38:58Speaker 1: in Aisippi cup. It's probably just water with a lot
- 39:00Speaker 1: of sugar and a little bit of lemon. So, Bob,
- 39:15Speaker 1: take a tip from us, but you need to make
- 39:17Speaker 1: sure you constantly are talking about Okay, let's have a
- 39:20Speaker 1: meeting place if you get lost, look for the person
- 39:22Speaker 1: with the Disney tag or whatever. It was like like
- 39:25Speaker 1: you know the old phone cord where you can connect
- 39:27Speaker 1: your kid leah, do you know? It's really funny. So
- 39:31Speaker 1: we were at some part we were just talking before
- 39:33Speaker 1: we had you and Jason. We were talking about that
- 39:35Speaker 1: backstor Nation thing that they did when they asked some dads,
- 39:38Speaker 1: you know, some questions about Father's Day and stuff. And
- 39:40Speaker 1: this year they talked to me, and so I was
- 39:42Speaker 1: asking the answering these questions. And my one of my
- 39:44Speaker 1: big things was, you know, as someone who's not a
- 39:47Speaker 1: parent yet, just no, because I was that guy for
- 39:49Speaker 1: forty seven years, try not to judge parents, you know,
- 39:54Speaker 1: because you don't know what they're going through. So and
- 39:56Speaker 1: I pad a kid leash. All things I've said no
- 39:59Speaker 1: to now. iPad now is my best friend. And the
- 40:03Speaker 1: kid leash, I will not lie to you. If I
- 40:04Speaker 1: could find one that he'd be wearing it because I
- 40:07Speaker 1: can't keep up. The kid is like it's so fast,
- 40:09Speaker 1: and so I'm like trucking down the street. Damn it,
- 40:12Speaker 1: I need one of those leashes, you know. I had
- 40:15Speaker 1: to get a one. Trista, did you ever use one. No, No,
- 40:19Speaker 1: I never did. I was constantly just holding their hand. Um,
- 40:23Speaker 1: you know, but no, I didn't do the leash. I
- 40:26Speaker 1: kind of felt that same way, like really, but I know,
- 40:29Speaker 1: I I think I would do it. I would probably
- 40:32Speaker 1: do it if I feel like a really active kid,
- 40:36Speaker 1: you know, Like that's why as long as what that
- 40:39Speaker 1: comes with a muzzle, that's awesome. Yeah that's more of
- 40:45Speaker 1: a pacifier. But what yeah yeah, same, same, Yeah. So
- 40:53Speaker 1: how is Riley doing? How's your donuts with daddy days? Good?
- 40:57Speaker 1: Riley just had her big annual gymnastics performance last night.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Yes I saw that. Yeah, she was very very nervous
- 41:06Speaker 1: but did great. Um no, she's she's good. Like, you know,
- 41:09Speaker 1: school gets out this week, so it's always a big
- 41:11Speaker 1: panic of like, you know, especially for Molly, like what
- 41:13Speaker 1: you're gonna do all summer? I got like half the
- 41:16Speaker 1: weeks in summer camp and in the other half some
- 41:18Speaker 1: weeks is iPad week, Like the iPads A like Bob,
- 41:25Speaker 1: like you're saying, it's it's like as a parent, you're like,
- 41:29Speaker 1: I'm terrible, but you're like, but it's peaceful. Yeah, and
- 41:33Speaker 1: sometimes that peace allows you to be a better parent,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you know, give me give me a half an hour here.
- 41:37Speaker 1: You know, we were we were freaking out, you know,
- 41:40Speaker 1: we just thought any screen time was too much screen time.
- 41:42Speaker 1: But now we've we you know what, Okay, So I'm
- 41:45Speaker 1: gonna bring it back all the way back to when
- 41:46Speaker 1: we were little. Right. My television was on all day
- 41:51Speaker 1: long in the summer, especially all day every day, right.
- 41:56Speaker 1: And I don't think it's any different than you're watching
- 42:00Speaker 1: a show on the iPad, whether it's a Netflix app
- 42:02Speaker 1: or a Hulu app or whatever app um, the Disney app.
- 42:06Speaker 1: I feel like people are so judgmental about it, but
- 42:10Speaker 1: but we did it when we were kids. It's kind
- 42:12Speaker 1: of like we didn't have seatbelts. Everyone smoked, you know,
- 42:15Speaker 1: like when we processed food. My mom put pepsi in
- 42:20Speaker 1: my bottle when I was like two. I'm sure, I'm
- 42:26Speaker 1: sure of that. There's no question. I know I did sal.
- 42:30Speaker 1: I mean, you just do what you've gotta do. And
- 42:32Speaker 1: I think that there are a lot of like educational
- 42:34Speaker 1: apps for when they're little, So I feel like going
- 42:37Speaker 1: that route is great. But honestly, I feel like we
- 42:40Speaker 1: did it. So who are we to say, you know, oh,
- 42:43Speaker 1: you can't have a screen even though there are more
- 42:45Speaker 1: screens now. I was in front of a screen all
- 42:48Speaker 1: the time. I wore a video game. Like even now,
- 42:50Speaker 1: it's tight. You know, Ty gets older in high school,
- 42:52Speaker 1: he'll wake up and I'll hear you'll take a shower,
- 42:55Speaker 1: and it'll come down to the breakfast. He won't he
- 42:57Speaker 1: won't break eyes with it from his phone because he's
- 43:00Speaker 1: just watching same video media or whatever it is. He
- 43:04Speaker 1: won't even like anybody, how you doing. Oh my god,
- 43:08Speaker 1: thank you for saying that, because Max is right now
- 43:11Speaker 1: the one word like the grunts though, oh my god,
- 43:15Speaker 1: I'm like, please have a conversation with me, like did
- 43:19Speaker 1: you pin them down and get something out of him
- 43:22Speaker 1: or just try? But but okay, so perfect example is
- 43:26Speaker 1: um last night I asked him a question about so
- 43:30Speaker 1: he literally just got Snapchat, just got Snapchat, and I
- 43:35Speaker 1: have been opposed to it. I did not want him
- 43:36Speaker 1: to have Snapchat. But it's the way that like kids
- 43:39Speaker 1: are texting these days, essentially, they don't they don't go
- 43:42Speaker 1: into their messages app, they go into Snapchat, and that's
- 43:45Speaker 1: how they're like talking about where they're going to meet
- 43:47Speaker 1: or what they're going to do for the day or
- 43:49Speaker 1: blah blah, blah, and so he just got Snapchat. We
- 43:52Speaker 1: have it like on an approval for like the parents approval,
- 43:56Speaker 1: and Ryan approved it and we didn't talk about it,
- 43:58Speaker 1: and so I'm like, damn it. Like I didn't want
- 44:02Speaker 1: to give him the zapchat app until um a little
- 44:06Speaker 1: bit longer. And so I asked him who he was
- 44:09Speaker 1: talking to on Snapchat, and Ryan's like, dude, like I
- 44:14Speaker 1: did not. I wouldn't have told my parents who I
- 44:16Speaker 1: was talking to if it was a girl or whatever,
- 44:18Speaker 1: Like back in the day, I wouldn't tell him who
- 44:20Speaker 1: I was talking to my phone. You can't ask him that.
- 44:22Speaker 1: He's not going to say anything. So I know that
- 44:25Speaker 1: I have to kind of word my questions in different
- 44:29Speaker 1: ways in order to have conversations with him. But it
- 44:33Speaker 1: is and I know that I did the same thing.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I did, the one word answers. I did the yeah,
- 44:38Speaker 1: no whatever. I don't want to talk to you right now,
- 44:40Speaker 1: Like all I want to do is chill um. So
- 44:42Speaker 1: I get it, but it is frustrating. I just want to, like,
- 44:45Speaker 1: I just want to talk to what how old was
- 44:50Speaker 1: he when you gave him his first phone? I think
- 44:53Speaker 1: they were ten or eleven. Yeah, that's what we did
- 44:58Speaker 1: same for you, Jay's so that's a good I'm actually
- 45:01Speaker 1: sitting here thinking exactly what I was just thinking Jason was.
- 45:03Speaker 1: I was like, man, I've got a three and a
- 45:05Speaker 1: half year all he's gonna be four. I don't want
- 45:08Speaker 1: him to have a phone until he's in junior high.
- 45:10Speaker 1: And even in junior high, I kind of wish it
- 45:11Speaker 1: was high school, you know what I mean. So it's like, well,
- 45:14Speaker 1: I mean the reasoning, like whether it was good reason
- 45:18Speaker 1: or battery reason we reasonly we gave was because when
- 45:21Speaker 1: he's out and he's got like sports and whatever, he'll
- 45:23Speaker 1: be able to practices over some kind of like that
- 45:26Speaker 1: was the reasoning. Like I don't think it was. But Riley,
- 45:30Speaker 1: who doesn't have her own phone, who has Molly's old
- 45:33Speaker 1: one of our old phones, Like you know, she's got
- 45:37Speaker 1: an iPad, but she also used that to look cute
- 45:39Speaker 1: and cool. But she will still do the same, Like
- 45:42Speaker 1: she brings her phones places even though it doesn't work.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Like one of her friends little sisters has this gymnastics
- 45:50Speaker 1: performance tonight, like this little four year old and she's
- 45:54Speaker 1: gonna bring it to take pictures. Yeah, that's a perfect
- 45:57Speaker 1: way to do it. I feel like giving them the
- 45:58Speaker 1: option to take pictures. And I know there are options
- 46:01Speaker 1: Bob out there where you don't have app access, Like
- 46:05Speaker 1: I think you could just like it's kind of like
- 46:07Speaker 1: a camera with a phone option. But we did the
- 46:10Speaker 1: same thing, Jason. We did because you know, our kids
- 46:13Speaker 1: ski and and they were to the point where they
- 46:16Speaker 1: were going on their own, um you know with well
- 46:20Speaker 1: maybe with other families at that point, but now they're
- 46:23Speaker 1: like full on skiing on Vale Mountain, which is a
- 46:27Speaker 1: huge mountain with lots of terrain, on their own. So
- 46:30Speaker 1: I feel like for safety purposes, that's kind of why
- 46:33Speaker 1: we did it. And I can't remember what. Yeah, yeah,
- 46:38Speaker 1: I just saw that today. Yeah. Riley has one of those.
- 46:41Speaker 1: She's had one for like a year and she's lost
- 46:44Speaker 1: it and whatever. But like for me, like if I
- 46:46Speaker 1: was going to be really honest, that's good enough, right, right,
- 46:49Speaker 1: that's good enough. But she but she like today she's
- 46:52Speaker 1: walking over from school and she'll bring that with her,
- 46:55Speaker 1: but she'll so gizmo does what For people who don't
- 46:58Speaker 1: know what it is, Oh, it's just it's it's like
- 47:01Speaker 1: a dumb down. Uh sorry, I'm looking at my Apple Watch.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Dumb down Apple Watch but you can only call people
- 47:08Speaker 1: that you program into the phone. That's what I love. Yeah,
- 47:14Speaker 1: throw Graham and Grandpa in there, throw a couple of
- 47:16Speaker 1: kuncles in there and call out a day like for
- 47:19Speaker 1: people who like if you're actually like I have like, like,
- 47:21Speaker 1: I'm not on commission for this thing you buy. You
- 47:24Speaker 1: buy the thing for like fifty bucks and it may
- 47:27Speaker 1: cost ten bucks a month. Yeah, right right, By the way,
- 47:31Speaker 1: I hate that we have to go ahead, go ahead,
- 47:34Speaker 1: I was gonna say, by the way, I hate that
- 47:35Speaker 1: we have to say that this is not an ad.
- 47:38Speaker 1: You know, well, like I'm not the modern days. I'm
- 47:42Speaker 1: not a social media guy at all. And when I
- 47:44Speaker 1: watch everybody else make a million bucks a year off
- 47:46Speaker 1: social media and I'm posted, dude, I'm so bad at it.
- 47:50Speaker 1: I'm so bad. Do you know I don't a little secret.
- 47:54Speaker 1: I don't even know. So I gotta asked to do
- 47:57Speaker 1: this thing for uh to say it was that Areo's campaign,
- 48:00Speaker 1: you know, And they're like, well, you know, we love
- 48:02Speaker 1: this and you're a little older and all the stuff,
- 48:03Speaker 1: and I saw I just made up my own thing.
- 48:05Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm gonna do exercising with my son and
- 48:07Speaker 1: I'm like using them as the weights and stuff. And
- 48:10Speaker 1: we had to ask our babysitter to help me shoot
- 48:13Speaker 1: it because I couldn't figure out how to shoot the
- 48:16Speaker 1: way they wanted this shot. And then I'm like, Okay,
- 48:18Speaker 1: now what do I do? And she's like, they want over.
- 48:20Speaker 1: They want overlays where you say some things. I'm like,
- 48:22Speaker 1: how do I do that? She's like, just give me
- 48:23Speaker 1: your phone. I mean literally, she was magic. But if
- 48:26Speaker 1: it weren't for her, I would have never ever done
- 48:28Speaker 1: anything like that if you were in that world. So
- 48:30Speaker 1: going back, if you're twenty years younger or even fifteen
- 48:33Speaker 1: years younger. And I was with the group of the
- 48:35Speaker 1: Bachelor people doing something and they she pulled on she
- 48:38Speaker 1: pulled on her phone, and she had a list of
- 48:41Speaker 1: twenty different people that we're gonna pay her a lot
- 48:44Speaker 1: of money for one post. Oh my god. And it
- 48:48Speaker 1: was just like a rotation of people that were kind
- 48:50Speaker 1: to come in and pair. God knows how much I
- 48:54Speaker 1: mean what we missed out big time. Yeah, I mean,
- 48:58Speaker 1: but I will say the stress of social media. I
- 49:01Speaker 1: feel like we did not miss out on it because
- 49:03Speaker 1: it would again I know, I don't think I would
- 49:07Speaker 1: have been able to handle it like, I'm sure you
- 49:09Speaker 1: get this question to Jason, although I know that you
- 49:11Speaker 1: and Molly kind of wanted to stay away from question
- 49:14Speaker 1: and answers for a while. Um, but I've gotten this
- 49:17Speaker 1: question a lot. Is Um, would you have done the
- 49:22Speaker 1: show if social media had been around back then? And
- 49:25Speaker 1: I don't know, It's really hard to think about because
- 49:28Speaker 1: people can be so cruel. I remember so many people
- 49:31Speaker 1: saying that they got death threats and the cyber bulling
- 49:35Speaker 1: is just out of control. So would you would you
- 49:39Speaker 1: do it now? Retrospectively? Just even knowing like how mine
- 49:42Speaker 1: ended in I think people somebody would have probably tried
- 49:46Speaker 1: to kill me. Oh my goodness, just think, oh gosh,
- 49:49Speaker 1: with right with your situation and after the final rows,
- 49:54Speaker 1: people were mad. That was crazy. I remember, you know,
- 50:01Speaker 1: it's still funny because I mean, we had chat rooms
- 50:03Speaker 1: back in the day when we did it that message boards,
- 50:08Speaker 1: and that was bad enough. So I can't even imagine
- 50:10Speaker 1: what it would have been like with you know, social
- 50:12Speaker 1: Instagram and Facebook, and I would have been dude, I
- 50:15Speaker 1: wouldn't never I probably you wouldn't. You wouldn't have been
- 50:17Speaker 1: on a Jason. You would have just turned it off.
- 50:19Speaker 1: For a month or two months or remember like that.
- 50:22Speaker 1: When I was on the Bachelor, I didn't look at
- 50:23Speaker 1: that stuff. But I was on the Bachelorette. Me and
- 50:25Speaker 1: some of the guys when I was airing, we would
- 50:27Speaker 1: go on those chat boards. I mean luckily when I
- 50:30Speaker 1: was on the Bachelor, I was always really favorable. Yeah,
- 50:33Speaker 1: Like I remember reading some of that stuff. I'm like,
- 50:35Speaker 1: oh god, that would hurt liked I remember it said
- 50:39Speaker 1: same same with me. I mean I remember everyone was
- 50:41Speaker 1: it was really nice, and so I was always like, oh, yeah,
- 50:43Speaker 1: they think I'm funny and cute and they like me.
- 50:46Speaker 1: But maybe after you're the Bachelor, it's like and they
- 50:49Speaker 1: want to kill me, especially especially Yeah, I mean they
- 50:54Speaker 1: hate they hate my voice. And I laughed like a hyena,
- 50:57Speaker 1: which I do. Oh wait, you know I just realized
- 50:59Speaker 1: I with that about myself. Yeah, I'm sure it would
- 51:06Speaker 1: be hard, but like it is, like Molly and I
- 51:08Speaker 1: talked about this all the time, Like the people who
- 51:11Speaker 1: make their living off social media now they have to
- 51:13Speaker 1: live it like it is a job and like to
- 51:16Speaker 1: post one thing is so stressful, Yeah, so stressful, and
- 51:23Speaker 1: honestly they do it and with and with kids like
- 51:25Speaker 1: I you know, we're talking about not being judgmental towards parents,
- 51:29Speaker 1: but I don't know. I feel like when you are
- 51:32Speaker 1: in that role, like having your kids be part of
- 51:35Speaker 1: it all the time. We just had Desiree Heart and
- 51:39Speaker 1: she took her kids. So she doesn't she doesn't put
- 51:43Speaker 1: her kids in any post anymore. And she removed every
- 51:47Speaker 1: single photo that she had on her Instagram account or
- 51:50Speaker 1: on her social media accounts of her kids. She removed everything.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Like if I did that, I don't think i'd have anything. Yeah,
- 51:59Speaker 1: I posted, Yeah, my kids in my family. That's all
- 52:02Speaker 1: I post about. But she had no she considered. Okay,
- 52:10Speaker 1: I didn't know she might be. I think she's the
- 52:13Speaker 1: probably that finish line would be the o G. Right,
- 52:17Speaker 1: have you ever gotten um um? I can't remember what
- 52:20Speaker 1: number the first Alex Michelle, No we got. We think
- 52:25Speaker 1: he's on the Witness Protection program. Okay, worry about him?
- 52:29Speaker 1: Right right when Molly moved to town. And I'm gonna
- 52:33Speaker 1: say this as blunt is as I can do it.
- 52:37Speaker 1: You know, well, he we were out at We're out
- 52:40Speaker 1: for a happy hour and this is Molly and I
- 52:42Speaker 1: weren't married, like early in the afternoon, and he walks by.
- 52:48Speaker 1: He didn't live in but like and like, I didn't
- 52:51Speaker 1: really know why at first. I'm like, Molly, why does
- 52:54Speaker 1: that guy looks so familiar? Hear She's like, that was
- 52:57Speaker 1: the first bachelor? And I was like, he looks ain't
- 53:00Speaker 1: too heavy to be the first bachelor, And oh really
- 53:02Speaker 1: he put on some weight. Well, I mean it was
- 53:04Speaker 1: just like all of us now, like yeah, get older,
- 53:07Speaker 1: and he was anymore right When I told him, I'm like,
- 53:11Speaker 1: are you He's like, yeah, I recognize you too, and
- 53:15Speaker 1: he's like I had to unplug from everything. Although he
- 53:17Speaker 1: was going through, if I remember correctly, he was gonna
- 53:19Speaker 1: get married soon, and I think he wanted to get
- 53:23Speaker 1: his face out there for that. And I don't know
- 53:25Speaker 1: what ever happened or anything, but I don't think it did.
- 53:28Speaker 1: I don't think it did because we've we've literally we
- 53:30Speaker 1: talked about this a lot. We haven't heard from him
- 53:32Speaker 1: in years. I had a similar kind of running with him, Jason.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I was on a plane to Cabo and he was
- 53:38Speaker 1: on the plane or wasn't plane on the way back.
- 53:40Speaker 1: I can't remember which one it was, but I was
- 53:41Speaker 1: going from New York to Cabo and he's he came up.
- 53:44Speaker 1: He's like, hey, what's up? Man? Couple bash was on
- 53:46Speaker 1: the plane and I was like, and it was kind
- 53:48Speaker 1: of embarrassing it because I was like, oh, dude, I
- 53:50Speaker 1: don't really want to know. He was nice enough. He
- 53:57Speaker 1: was nice enough, you know what. Everything. But it's funny
- 53:58Speaker 1: because I remember landing and I don't I never saw
- 54:01Speaker 1: him again. There was one and like, my only the
- 54:04Speaker 1: only thing I knew about. It's ten years ago. I
- 54:07Speaker 1: think he was with a company that got acquired by Microsoft,
- 54:11Speaker 1: because Microsoft in the Seattle area. Yeah, and he was
- 54:15Speaker 1: here for just some conference and then he was gone. Yeah. Yeah, Well,
- 54:19Speaker 1: I mean he's been gone from Bachelor Nation since I
- 54:22Speaker 1: said goodbye to him. No, I think after Kiss of Death,
- 54:29Speaker 1: didn't he do like kind of like some soft porn?
- 54:33Speaker 1: Did you guys hear about this? Google it now? I
- 54:38Speaker 1: miss everything. That's okay, that's because you're not on social media. No,
- 54:45Speaker 1: but I don't think he's on social media. But I
- 54:47Speaker 1: do feel like he did some kind of movie that
- 54:50Speaker 1: maybe he even directed on his own. Um anyway, well,
- 54:55Speaker 1: we'll google it after this and see if I'm here.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Oh Jake the Snake, Yeah, he he would probably still
- 55:03Speaker 1: would he be at the o G. I don't know
- 55:05Speaker 1: what year was he? Do we know what Alley's season? Yeah,
- 55:14Speaker 1: so he would be after so the season after Ali.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I guess right, he's a G. Yeah. I actually told
- 55:24Speaker 1: I told Tris at one time we talked about him
- 55:26Speaker 1: on the show and I was like, you know, I
- 55:28Speaker 1: met him. I did a thing with him for US
- 55:30Speaker 1: Weekly with Andrew Firestone and I and I'm like, he
- 55:33Speaker 1: was great that day. You know. But man, when you
- 55:35Speaker 1: watched that, watched that back of I mean you talk
- 55:38Speaker 1: about the kind of the after the final roses that
- 55:41Speaker 1: had bigger impacts like yours obviously was huge in a way,
- 55:44Speaker 1: but you were still a gentleman and kind and you
- 55:47Speaker 1: know it was because of love, and you know, there's
- 55:50Speaker 1: there's so many millions of different ways you can look
- 55:52Speaker 1: at that. But when Jake and uh Vienna did that one,
- 55:57Speaker 1: oh my god, I remember thinking to myself, literally, I
- 56:00Speaker 1: would want to crawl under a rock. And it never
- 56:02Speaker 1: comes out if I were these guys, either one of them,
- 56:04Speaker 1: but especially that's what they did right there. Pretty they're gone,
- 56:07Speaker 1: right Yeah? Yeah, So I don't know. I mean, Jake,
- 56:12Speaker 1: I feel like he's probably still a pilot. I've seen
- 56:15Speaker 1: Vienna pop up in my like suggested or whatever on
- 56:18Speaker 1: social media before or something like that. I want to
- 56:21Speaker 1: say she's a mom now. But um, but yeah, I
- 56:24Speaker 1: don't know if they'd fall into the O G category,
- 56:26Speaker 1: but I like the G category. Yeah. So he was
- 56:30Speaker 1: two thousand ten, So he was two thousand ten. So yeah,
- 56:33Speaker 1: and Jason, you were what two thousand six or seven? No?
- 56:36Speaker 1: I was oh nine, oh nine? Okay, yeah, he was
- 56:40Speaker 1: right after me. Okay, all right. Was Desiree before you?
- 56:45Speaker 1: I think she was right, she was after you. Yeah. Yeah,
- 56:48Speaker 1: that's what I was asking, because you know, her and
- 56:51Speaker 1: Chris lived in Seattle for a while. Yeah, so we
- 56:54Speaker 1: used to get together all the you know, then they
- 56:56Speaker 1: moved to Portland, but we used to see him all
- 56:57Speaker 1: the time. I know, you guys are always together. I
- 57:00Speaker 1: was always feeling so left out. Chris and I used
- 57:04Speaker 1: to like, we had this creative idea of like, let's
- 57:07Speaker 1: market real estate mortgage guy together and oh my gosh,
- 57:13Speaker 1: you should have. I mean, I love what you and
- 57:14Speaker 1: Molly are doing. I've tried to get Molly. I mean,
- 57:16Speaker 1: obviously Molly and I, you know, Jason, Um, Molly and
- 57:20Speaker 1: I have been. She's one of the closest people in
- 57:23Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation to me, and I've constantly been trying to
- 57:27Speaker 1: get her to do something with her, whether it was
- 57:29Speaker 1: a podcast or a business or whatever. But I love
- 57:31Speaker 1: that you guys are doing real estate. I think over
- 57:35Speaker 1: talking about the Bachelor, like, yeah, totally get that, totally
- 57:38Speaker 1: get it. I know people always ask me like, it's
- 57:41Speaker 1: probably remember when Jason and I did a show not
- 57:44Speaker 1: too long ago with Ben Higgins and we were talking about,
- 57:47Speaker 1: you know, getting recognized and all that kind of stuff,
- 57:50Speaker 1: And one of the things that we talked about was,
- 57:51Speaker 1: you know, like I have people say it to me
- 57:53Speaker 1: all the time. Are you so sick of talking about it?
- 57:55Speaker 1: And I'm like, what are supposed to say? You know,
- 57:57Speaker 1: someways like no, it's fine, thanks, you know, but there
- 57:59Speaker 1: is a point You're like, I don't remember what you're
- 58:01Speaker 1: talking about, but I'm glad it. Manact on you like,
- 58:06Speaker 1: do you remember when you did this one thing on
- 58:08Speaker 1: the horse And I'm like, what, No, I don't recall
- 58:11Speaker 1: that a long time ago. Yeah it was okay, Jason, Well,
- 58:16Speaker 1: thank you so much for coming and joining us today.
- 58:19Speaker 1: I know you guys are busy, um, but it means
- 58:22Speaker 1: a lot to us to get Happy Father's Day, Ryan
- 58:25Speaker 1: and Bob and yeah, thank you. Happy Father's Day to
- 58:30Speaker 1: you too, Buddy, have a great one and kids, I
- 58:32Speaker 1: love you, got it. Take care of Jason, Jason Mesnick, everybody.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Such a good episode. I know, great long, this is
- 58:42Speaker 1: a long episode, but so good. I just love both
- 58:45Speaker 1: of them, um, And it's so funny to me, I
- 58:48Speaker 1: feel like Mesnick is way more O G than I
- 58:51Speaker 1: guess he is, being from two thousand nine. But I
- 58:53Speaker 1: guess to me, he's just it's because he was one
- 58:57Speaker 1: of the most successful, or at least after the after
- 59:00Speaker 1: the final Rose. He has always been one of the
- 59:03Speaker 1: people that comes up in conversations as having a lasting
- 59:06Speaker 1: relationship after this. Well, such a memorable I mean such
- 59:09Speaker 1: a memorable season two with the way that it ended,
- 59:11Speaker 1: and you know, I mean that's that's something that had
- 59:14Speaker 1: to be tough for both of them, the weather, So
- 59:15Speaker 1: I mean, good for them, and yeah, and I get it,
- 59:18Speaker 1: I I do get it. I mean, you know, I
- 59:19Speaker 1: love talking about this stuff because for me now it's like,
- 59:21Speaker 1: well it was twenty years ago, why not, you know,
- 59:23Speaker 1: but for you know, Canyon was in you know, junior high.
- 59:27Speaker 1: Just kidding, I think she was in high school. But
- 59:29Speaker 1: but you know, it's like she she doesn't she does know.
- 59:32Speaker 1: You know, she didn't watch it, so you know, I
- 59:35Speaker 1: love talking about it with her and telling her all
- 59:37Speaker 1: the fun stories. But more so it's I mean, for me,
- 59:39Speaker 1: it's all about the friendships, right, like the friendships that
- 59:41Speaker 1: all of us have made from that show. That's that
- 59:44Speaker 1: is especially for someone who did not marry their their
- 59:48Speaker 1: person on the show, like you and Jason did. I
- 59:50Speaker 1: think for me that's the best takeaway is that thankfully
- 59:53Speaker 1: you're still friendly with Stella and she's got engaged, which
- 59:55Speaker 1: is awesome, and Kelly Joe's probably married already been a
- 59:58Speaker 1: guest on our show, so like my finalty, you know,
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: it's nice to have that kind of connection still, and
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: you know, and then all the friendships that we made
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: from other seasons. But yeah, I've always thought that Jason
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: as a serious o G two but man, he's actually
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: he's a little later than us. But I think that
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Shan Low is an Okay, Yeah, I feel like the
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: o G is like not just based on year, you know,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: it's not just based on season like Jason was, like,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: wait is he and o G. I feel like whoever
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: kind of brings us back to that time of more
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: innocence in the show, you know, gives us that feeling
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: um is an o G. So I consider them, I
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: consider Jason and Desiree and me too, Dianna, Jillian like
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: all of those. Yeah, absolutely, and then of course the
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: fairy godmother Tris. Thank you, thank you for telling me
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: that the grandmother and the grandfather bog here signing off
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: from yet another week of our most famous O G fun.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Thank you for another great show, trist I love you.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: You have a great week. To give Brian a big
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: hug for me. He's such a great dad. I will
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: happy Father's Day. Thank you for all the fathers in
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation and beyond. We love you and beyond, we
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: love you guys. Being a dad isn't easy, but it
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: shares a lot of fun. So that's right, all right,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: We'll see you next week.
