- 0:01Speaker 1: Alright, coming to you live from Fern Park, Florida. This
- 0:04Speaker 1: is the Ember Show, your host Ember on the go.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Normally I do not record episodes as I'm walking, but
- 0:13Speaker 1: I have formed a habit of doing so.
- 0:16Speaker 2: So it's the Ember Show on the go this evening.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I know where you're at, probably different time zones, so
- 0:24Speaker 1: I just want to be able to say also good morning,
- 0:26Speaker 1: good afternoon, good evening, wherever you may be.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Let's get into prayer.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Lord Father that art in heaven, I come to you
- 0:32Speaker 1: in prayer to be able to have the Holy Spirit
- 0:34Speaker 1: be able to speak through this mic and go through
- 0:37Speaker 1: the listeners' ears and be able to reach their hearts
- 0:39Speaker 1: and minds and be able to apply these verses from
- 0:41Speaker 1: John chapter 9 to their lives. In the Lord Jesus
- 0:44Speaker 1: Christ's name I pray.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Amen.
- 0:47Speaker 1: So if you want to grab your Bibles and get
- 0:49Speaker 1: on your Bible app and read along, we're going to
- 0:50Speaker 1: be in John chapter 9. And I really look forward
- 0:54Speaker 1: to this because it's the title, Jesus Makes a Blind
- 0:57Speaker 1: Man Able to See. And let's jump in. While Jesus
- 1:02Speaker 1: was walking along, he saw a certain man. This man
- 1:06Speaker 1: had been blind since he was born. Jesus' disciples asked him, Teacher,
- 1:13Speaker 1: why was this man blind then he was born? Was
- 1:17Speaker 1: it because himself did something wrong? Or was it because
- 1:22Speaker 1: his parents did something wrong? And Jesus answered, it was
- 1:25Speaker 1: not because either this man or his parents did something wrong.
- 1:29Speaker 1: It happened so that God could show his great work
- 1:32Speaker 1: in this man. While it is still day, we must
- 1:37Speaker 1: continue to work. God has sent me and we must
- 1:43Speaker 1: do his work. We must work now because it will
- 1:47Speaker 1: be night soon. Then nobody can work. While I'm still
- 1:51Speaker 1: here in the world, I am the world's light. See,
- 1:56Speaker 1: Jesus was making it clear. That in order for there
- 2:05Speaker 1: to be a miracle, right? And a transformation in this
- 2:12Speaker 1: man's sight, right? And it's not necessarily referring to blinded
- 2:22Speaker 1: just by the eyes as well. This parable in this
- 2:26Speaker 1: passage just does. But I want to make this clear.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Sometimes we go blindsided into relationships. Blindsided into careers. Blindsided
- 2:36Speaker 1: into ideas. And making plans, right? Relaying them to not
- 2:49Speaker 1: only ourselves on paper or to others, but to God.
- 2:52Speaker 2: And he laughs.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And it not being aligned with God's will, I mean,
- 2:58Speaker 1: we will continue to stay blind. It's easy to open
- 3:03Speaker 1: the eye and then it be closed because.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It's very sensitive.
- 3:09Speaker 1: When we break this down spiritually, Jesus used so many parables.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Let's get deeper into it. While it is still day,
- 3:17Speaker 1: he said, right? So let's go into 5. John 9,
- 3:19Speaker 1: verse 5.
- 3:20Speaker 2: While I am still here, In the world I am
- 3:24Speaker 2: the world's light. It was so dark before Jesus came
- 3:28Speaker 2: into the world.
- 3:30Speaker 1: There was religious priests. There was teachers. There was good
- 3:37Speaker 1: in the world. But there was also more bad. And
- 3:40Speaker 1: it outweighed the good. So when Jesus had finished speaking.
- 3:46Speaker 1: He spat on the ground. He mixed it with dirt
- 3:49Speaker 1: on the ground. So that he made mud. Then he
- 3:52Speaker 1: put some of the mud on the eyes of the
- 3:55Speaker 1: blind man. Jesus said to him, go and wash it
- 3:59Speaker 1: in the solemn pool. The name of solemn means sent.
- 4:02Speaker 1: So the man went there and he washed himself. When
- 4:05Speaker 1: he returned, now.
- 4:06Speaker 2: He could see. Glory to God. Think about that. Spit
- 4:12Speaker 2: and dirt.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Imagine how much power the saliva has, right? And we
- 4:20Speaker 1: don't even talk about it. I could get into a
- 4:23Speaker 1: whole podcast about that, but I won't. Because I'm going
- 4:26Speaker 1: to keep this strictly on Bible study. And not spiritual
- 4:30Speaker 1: gifts or whatnot. People began to talk about the man.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Some of these people lived near him. And others had
- 4:42Speaker 1: seen him when he was asking for money. They said,
- 4:46Speaker 1: this is the man who sat here. He asked people
- 4:48Speaker 1: to give money. Isn't that right? Some people said, yes,
- 4:53Speaker 1: it is him. But other people said, no, it is
- 4:56Speaker 1: someone who seems to be like him. But the man
- 4:58Speaker 1: himself said, I am that man. Then they asked him,
- 5:04Speaker 1: how did your eyes now become able to see? He answered,
- 5:09Speaker 1: the man called Jesus made some mud. He put the
- 5:13Speaker 1: mud on my eyes. Then he sent me to wash.
- 5:17Speaker 1: So I went there and I washed. Then I could see.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And you see where Jesus is also directing the blind
- 5:28Speaker 1: man that cannot see to the pool to wash off
- 5:32Speaker 1: the mud. So there has to be some sort of
- 5:35Speaker 1: borderline trust there from the blind man to, first of all,
- 5:38Speaker 1: even let him put mud on his eyes.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And on top of that, to go walk without any guide, right? To...
- 5:49Speaker 2: to the pool to wash off. Think about that for
- 5:51Speaker 2: a second. Let's go deeper. They asked, where is this man?
- 5:55Speaker 2: He replied, I don't know.
- 5:57Speaker 1: This is titled, The Pharisees argued with the man who
- 6:00Speaker 1: had been blind. The people brought the man who had
- 6:05Speaker 1: been blind.
- 6:06Speaker 2: To the Pharisees.
- 6:08Speaker 1: It was a Jewish day of the rest when Jesus
- 6:10Speaker 1: had done this miracle. He had used mud to make
- 6:13Speaker 1: the man's eyes able to see. So the Pharisees argued
- 6:16Speaker 1: Asked the man. How did you become able to see?
- 6:19Speaker 2: The man replied. Jesus put mud on my eyes. Then
- 6:22Speaker 2: I washed. And now I can see. Some of the
- 6:24Speaker 2: Pharisees said. This man. Jesus cannot have. Come from God.
- 6:27Speaker 2: He does not. Obey the rules. About.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Our day of rest. You see how they. The Pharisees.
- 6:34Speaker 1: The religious leaders. Try to.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Make it. Their. Ego and pride. Making it. Their. Like
- 6:41Speaker 2: their rules. And their laws. Like they followed them. But other.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Pharisees said, no one who is bad could do great
- 6:47Speaker 1: things like this. So they did not agree with each other.
- 6:51Speaker 1: So you can imagine all these Pharisees and all these
- 6:53Speaker 1: people that, before Jesus came along, were getting along. And
- 6:59Speaker 1: then a man of real authority that's actually sent to
- 7:03Speaker 1: do the will of God.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Actually is around.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And they don't know whether to believe it or not
- 7:09Speaker 1: to believe it. And you can imagine how much that
- 7:14Speaker 1: terrified them. The Pharisee spoke again to the man who
- 7:16Speaker 1: had been blind and he said to him, What do
- 7:19Speaker 1: you yourself say about this man? It was your eyes
- 7:23Speaker 1: he has now made able to see. The man replied,
- 7:26Speaker 1: He is a prophet. The Jewish leaders still did not
- 7:31Speaker 1: believe that the man had really been blind. They did
- 7:35Speaker 1: not want to believe that he had now became able
- 7:38Speaker 1: to see. So they told the man's parents to come
- 7:41Speaker 1: to them. They asked that the parents... Is this your son?
- 7:44Speaker 2: You say, yes.
- 7:45Speaker 1: When he was born, was he blind? Now he can see.
- 7:48Speaker 1: How did this happen? The parents replied, we know that
- 7:52Speaker 1: this is our son.
- 7:54Speaker 2: And when.
- 7:56Speaker 1: He was born, he was blind. We know that, too.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But we do not know how he can see now.
- 8:08Speaker 1: We do not know who made his eyes able to see.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Ask him. He is old enough to answer you for himself.
- 8:14Speaker 1: And they said that like, you know, like screaming at him.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Because they're coming at them hot. The man's parents said
- 8:26Speaker 1: these things because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders.
- 8:28Speaker 1: The Jewish leaders did not want anyone to say that
- 8:31Speaker 1: Jesus was the Messiah. They would not let anyone that
- 8:34Speaker 1: belonged to their meeting places. That is why the man's
- 8:38Speaker 1: parents said, ask him. He is old enough. So they
- 8:43Speaker 1: were already feeling the pressure from the Pharisees to be
- 8:51Speaker 1: of principle that they've already laid. So think about this
- 8:56Speaker 1: as Jesus is just the son of man and gets
- 9:03Speaker 1: treated like not even an ordinary man, but a criminal.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And how many times have you in your life. You've
- 9:13Speaker 1: been doing the right things.
- 9:16Speaker 2: You're kind.
- 9:16Speaker 1: You're considerate. And somebody gossips about you in a negative way.
- 9:20Speaker 1: And that spreads. God knows the real you. I want
- 9:25Speaker 1: to take these last five minutes. To dedicate this.
- 9:29Speaker 2: To Jesus. I know that I normally.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Take time to dedicate this to a significant other, but
- 9:36Speaker 1: a part of God's will and my priority list, God's will,
- 9:39Speaker 1: AA recovery, significant other, brother, mother. These are the things
- 9:44Speaker 1: that matter the most. It's giving praise all to Jesus.
- 9:50Speaker 1: There is no words that can describe, just like my
- 9:53Speaker 1: love inside for my significant other, that can even describe
- 10:03Speaker 1: my magnitude of not only faith, but love for Jesus Christ.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And that didn't come overnight.
- 10:11Speaker 1: And I want anybody that's listening, you have this opportunity
- 10:14Speaker 1: to be able to make the Lord Jesus Christ your
- 10:15Speaker 1: Lord and Savior.
- 10:17Speaker 2: And best friend.
- 10:19Speaker 1: That will help your other companions. That will also help
- 10:24Speaker 1: you prosper. And the plans that he will set in
- 10:28Speaker 1: front of you.
- 10:29Speaker 2: And for you to follow him.
- 10:33Speaker 1: And these tie in to your dreams and goals. But
- 10:37Speaker 1: you have been so distracted by what you're really passionate about.
- 10:40Speaker 1: What God really put in you. By these worldly things.
- 10:44Speaker 1: You have the opportunities. To stay focused on the one
- 10:48Speaker 1: that was perfect. That can be able to help you
- 10:51Speaker 1: achieve your dreams, your goals. Especially if they align with
- 10:56Speaker 1: glorifying Him. Glorifying God. Glorifying the Holy Spirit. We're talking
- 11:01Speaker 1: three in one. God the Almighty.
- 11:05Speaker 2: The Father.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Becoming flesh through His Son, Jesus Christ. And after resurrection.
- 11:12Speaker 1: After resurrection. Jesus left us that Holy Spirit as not
- 11:18Speaker 1: only a gift, but a guider, a healer, a companion.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Even when we feel like we're alone, we can tap
- 11:28Speaker 1: into that source.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Amen? That's such a beautiful thing.
- 11:32Speaker 1: The mercy and the grace God gives for us too
- 11:37Speaker 1: as sinners.
- 11:38Speaker 2: And I have three minutes. I can go on and on,
- 11:40Speaker 2: and I will. There has been so many times Jesus
- 11:43Speaker 2: has said, dragged me out of hell. Because I put
- 11:48Speaker 2: myself there. Think about this. After Jesus was baptized, he was.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to go
- 12:01Speaker 1: through different temptations that we continue to go through to
- 12:05Speaker 1: this day and we fail. And he did not sin.
- 12:11Speaker 1: He did not give in. to these worldly temptations? For
- 12:17Speaker 1: 40 days and 40 nights, how many times have we
- 12:19Speaker 1: put ourselves in the wilderness and begged God, Jesus, or
- 12:23Speaker 1: whatever God we want to think of, right, to get
- 12:27Speaker 1: us out of this situation? It's being able to acknowledge
- 12:33Speaker 1: the fact that there is a power greater than us,
- 12:38Speaker 1: and it is the Holy Spirit. People want to talk
- 12:40Speaker 1: about God and Jesus, like the Holy Spirit, doesn't matter.
- 12:49Speaker 1: It needs to be talked about more because there's a
- 12:52Speaker 1: lot of believers in the body of Christ that do
- 12:54Speaker 1: not get to experience the Holy Spirit like they should.
- 13:01Speaker 1: As this is the Holy Spirit speaking, as I start
- 13:04Speaker 1: all my podcasts in prayer, Lord, Father, that art in heaven,
- 13:10Speaker 1: I come to you in prayer to be able to
- 13:12Speaker 1: have the Holy Spirit be able to speak through this mic,
- 13:15Speaker 1: go through the listeners' ears and be able to reach
- 13:17Speaker 1: their hearts and minds and be able to apply these
- 13:19Speaker 1: verses to their lives.
- 13:20Speaker 2: In the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And I say that because I'm inviting the Spirit in
- 13:29Speaker 1: to take over the episode. Of course, I'm going to
- 13:33Speaker 1: have some preaching moments, but it all is to glorify God, Jesus,
- 13:40Speaker 1: and the Holy Spirit. I put my faith in Jesus.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I trust God and I lean on the Holy Spirit.
- 13:50Speaker 1: You can do the same. It's very simple. All you
- 13:54Speaker 1: have to do is say, Lord Jesus, I repent from
- 13:58Speaker 1: my sins. I ask you to come into my heart
- 14:01Speaker 1: and be my Lord and Savior and guide me through
- 14:04Speaker 1: this life.
- 14:06Speaker 2: In the Lord Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen. Something
- 14:10Speaker 2: as simple as that. If you just said that out loud.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Or if you want to go ahead and replay it
- 14:17Speaker 1: back and say it out loud. And if you did
- 14:20Speaker 1: say it, I am so proud of you. Get into
- 14:24Speaker 1: a home group church. Get into a Bible study. Get
- 14:27Speaker 1: around like-minded people that are seeking the Lord. And just
- 14:32Speaker 1: see where He takes you. Don't give up either. Be consistent.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Be consistent. I got 20 seconds. This is The Ember Show.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Your host, Ember. And we just getting started. This was
- 14:43Speaker 1: John chapter 9. John chapter 10 tomorrow. Thank you for
- 14:48Speaker 1: pressing play. And I hope that you have a blessed day.
