- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing in with Becca Tilly and Tanya Radd, an iHeartRadio.
- 0:04Speaker 2: And two-time People's Choice Award-winning podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hello, everybody. We are scrubbing in. Yes, that's my voice
- 0:15Speaker 1: two times because Becca is out. She is officially in
- 0:19Speaker 1: Thailand and she'll be gone for two weeks of the podcast.
- 0:23Speaker 1: But I am very excited because we have a co-host
- 0:26Speaker 1: today that I love so much.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And I....
- 0:31Speaker 1: I was thinking about who I wanted to do the
- 0:32Speaker 1: podcast with. And I was like, I really just, I
- 0:34Speaker 1: was talking to our producer, Sam. I was like, I
- 0:35Speaker 1: just want somebody to like laugh and have like girl
- 0:37Speaker 1: chat with. And this is the perfect guest to do
- 0:41Speaker 1: those things. So please welcome Ashley Ai to the podcast.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Hi, I feel so pressure on, you know what I mean?
- 0:52Speaker 2: I feel like pressure on because you guys are the
- 0:55Speaker 2: most joy filled, um, best girl talkers ever. So are you.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I mean, thanks. It's been a while. You know what
- 1:04Speaker 2: I mean? Because I used to have a Girl Talk podcast.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 2: It's been like over a year.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Well, now you can bring it.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Now you can bring it here. Yeah. Okay. Let's do it.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Do we have hot topics and stuff? Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 1: So much. Well, there's like so much to cover. And
- 1:16Speaker 1: first of all, I want to say thank you to
- 1:19Speaker 1: the scrubbers because we usually record our podcast on Mondays.
- 1:22Speaker 1: The past two Mondays, I'm doing a little something different
- 1:25Speaker 1: with my trying to conceive era.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I'm doing something a little different this month, which requires
- 1:32Speaker 1: me to be going to like doctor's appointments and things.
- 1:34Speaker 1: So we're doing a recording on a Tuesday, releasing this
- 1:37Speaker 1: on a Tuesday. I just want to say thank you
- 1:38Speaker 1: to the scrubbers for understanding and being flexible with my schedule,
- 1:44Speaker 1: but we should be right on track. Oh no, next
- 1:47Speaker 1: week's Labor Day. So we'll be back on Tuesday next week.
- 1:50Speaker 1: But I just wanted to say thank you. Cause I
- 1:52Speaker 1: know like I get in my routine with my podcast.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Like I love having my certain podcasts that I listen
- 1:56Speaker 1: to specific days that they drop. So when you go
- 1:59Speaker 1: off your format, it like, really messes with you as
- 2:02Speaker 1: a consumer, like me as a listener. So I don't
- 2:04Speaker 1: like doing that to our scrubbers.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Okay. So Tanya, what day do you listen to Hey Jonas?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Um, every day of the week. What day do you
- 2:14Speaker 1: listen to Hey Jonas?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Well, so they've been coming out with multiple a week
- 2:21Speaker 2: where I'm like, Hey boss, to all of us, Amy, like,
- 2:25Speaker 2: are you guys, uh, like, this is a lot.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Like you listen every time they drop one.
- 2:30Speaker 2: No. So what I do, I listen to every single episode,
- 2:33Speaker 2: but because I want to be in a certain mood
- 2:36Speaker 2: when those come out, I kind of bank them. Like
- 2:40Speaker 2: sometimes I'll go like 10 days without listening to them.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I also like watching those podcasts instead of just listening.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Obvious reasons. And I also like want to be in
- 2:51Speaker 2: a place where I'm happy and zen because I don't
- 2:54Speaker 2: want to ever associate Jonas with a time that I'm stressed.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I mean, but it's not how you like, I feel
- 3:00Speaker 1: like that's how I like listen to everything is like,
- 3:02Speaker 1: I have to be in certain moods. I have to
- 3:04Speaker 1: kind of just like know what's going on. I don't,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I have like my specific things I do when I walk,
- 3:09Speaker 1: when I'm driving. You do?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. So do you listen to music when you
- 3:16Speaker 2: walk or podcast when you walk?
- 3:17Speaker 1: Podcast when I walk.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Okay. When do you listen to music then?
- 3:21Speaker 1: When I'm working out.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Well, I don't work out. So that's the thing.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Okay. Speaking of Jonas, I want, well, I mean, I
- 3:30Speaker 1: just feel like there's like so much to talk to
- 3:31Speaker 1: you about, but so I'm going to prioritize, but you
- 3:34Speaker 1: started off with Jonas. So I'm going to start off
- 3:36Speaker 1: with Jonas. We actually got to see each other last
- 3:38Speaker 1: week in New York at Madison Square Garden. Can you
- 3:40Speaker 1: believe that was last week?
- 3:43Speaker 2: Well, it's almost, yeah, it's like a week and a
- 3:44Speaker 2: half ago. And let me just say that was one
- 3:47Speaker 2: of the most joy filled days of my life.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So I was trying to, so Becca's never been to
- 3:51Speaker 1: a Jonas Brothers concert before.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah. So I've learned at the Scrubbing It podcast. Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: And I'm like, how have you never been to one?
- 3:59Speaker 1: First of all, and I'm like, it's such a, because
- 4:01Speaker 1: I mean, you've gone, we've gone to other concerts. There's
- 4:04Speaker 1: something in the room, in the, like the vibe of
- 4:07Speaker 1: a Jonas Brothers concert that really cannot be replicated at
- 4:09Speaker 1: another show.
- 4:10Speaker 2: No. And- Anybody who goes for the first time kind
- 4:14Speaker 2: of picks up on that. When Jared went to his
- 4:17Speaker 2: first couple back in 2019, he's like, it truly is
- 4:20Speaker 2: like the happiest place in the world. It's like a
- 4:24Speaker 2: Disney world for music and fandom.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah. And even if you don't know any, like Robbie
- 4:29Speaker 1: also didn't know like any of the songs and he
- 4:31Speaker 1: still had like the best time because the energy was
- 4:34Speaker 1: just like infectious.
- 4:36Speaker 2: It's something about the fans, like those fans. They're just...
- 4:43Speaker 2: They resonate with me. I relate to them so much.
- 4:46Speaker 2: There's just like something in the quality of people that,
- 4:49Speaker 2: that the Jonas brothers attract. So you're just like in
- 4:52Speaker 2: a room with the best girls ever. Ever. Okay.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Wait, what's your Jonas ranking? Have we talked about this?
- 4:59Speaker 2: Well, I don't like to rank now. You know what
- 5:00Speaker 2: I mean?
- 5:01Speaker 1: Why?
- 5:01Speaker 2: Well, because it's just like straight up wrong. Like I
- 5:04Speaker 2: don't want to rank them. Oh, you're talking about as brothers?
- 5:07Speaker 1: No, like who's your favorite? Like one, two, three, like
- 5:10Speaker 1: your favorite. Not like ranking, like hotness, like ranking favoritism.
- 5:14Speaker 2: No, like I'm okay to rank hotness, but I'm not
- 5:16Speaker 2: like not okay to rank favoritism because like I love
- 5:19Speaker 2: them all. Okay.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I guess rank hotness then.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Well, I mean, Joe has always been like Joe, you know,
- 5:27Speaker 2: to me, like he's always been the hot, he's always
- 5:30Speaker 2: been my celebrity crush for 18 years.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And you married somebody that looks kind of like him.
- 5:35Speaker 2: I mean, right.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 2: And I joke all the time. Like, you know, when
- 5:39Speaker 2: I get on Instagram and I'm just like, look at
- 5:41Speaker 2: this video, like, ah, um, I'm like, thank God you
- 5:44Speaker 2: like have such a resemblance. Like you look more like them, babe.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And like, he looks like Joe of most of all
- 5:50Speaker 2: of them, but you look more like them than even
- 5:54Speaker 2: Franklin does.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 5:56Speaker 2: He looks like he really could be the fourth brother. And, um, yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 2: he like is not weirded out at all. He's like, yeah,
- 6:03Speaker 2: I mean, it's nice that there's such a, I don't want.
- 6:07Speaker 1: To say I love them so much. Like it like
- 6:09Speaker 1: actually hurts.
- 6:10Speaker 2: No, I know. Like it brings me so much joy
- 6:12Speaker 2: to my life. And I love the fact that you
- 6:14Speaker 2: are like quite friendly with them. And then you also
- 6:18Speaker 2: just get on your mic and you're just like, hi,
- 6:22Speaker 2: I love you so much. Like you love them, love them,
- 6:25Speaker 2: no shame. And that's how I am too. It's just
- 6:29Speaker 2: the love. It's 18 years of just.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Making my life better.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yes. Making my life better. I know. And like, it's
- 6:39Speaker 1: so funny because I find myself going between this like,
- 6:42Speaker 1: fan and friend with them at times that like is
- 6:46Speaker 1: so weird like sometimes I'm like I'm sitting in Kevin's
- 6:49Speaker 1: dressing room having like a Aperol spritz and I'm just
- 6:52Speaker 1: like I'm sitting in Kevin's dressing room having an Aperol
- 6:55Speaker 1: spritz you know what I mean like.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That's why it's funny for me to watch you because
- 6:59Speaker 2: like you embrace the fact that you're like a friend
- 7:04Speaker 2: and fan and one and you actually separate it which
- 7:06Speaker 2: is kind of amazing.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Like you would think as a friend, it'd be embarrassing
- 7:14Speaker 1: that I'm like standing so close to the stage, screaming
- 7:17Speaker 1: the words out to their songs, like making eye contact
- 7:20Speaker 1: with them and belting out the lyrics and like crying
- 7:23Speaker 1: at times. But like, I have no shame. And then
- 7:28Speaker 1: when they tell me that they can see me and like,
- 7:30Speaker 1: they like, it like makes them happy when they see
- 7:32Speaker 1: me having like such a good time. I'm like, nah,
- 7:35Speaker 1: that's like, that's where I need to be.
- 7:37Speaker 2: It's just, it's so soul filling. Yeah. Um, and yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 2: there was something about the, that MSG concert where I
- 7:46Speaker 2: was just like, that is what I needed during that week.
- 7:50Speaker 2: It oddly put like something in perspective for me as
- 7:54Speaker 2: sounds so weird as Jonas concerts, like often do where
- 7:58Speaker 2: it's just like high quality, like high vibration.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:03Speaker 2: And it like tells you like to prioritize the high
- 8:06Speaker 2: vibrations in your life.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Did you wait? Did you see them at the sphere
- 8:11Speaker 1: watching the Backstreet Boys?
- 8:12Speaker 2: I like couldn't handle it, Tanya. Now that's where my
- 8:16Speaker 2: heart and brain exploded because obviously I love the Backstreet
- 8:20Speaker 2: Boys with so much of my heart. I love Jonas
- 8:22Speaker 2: with so much of my heart. And then I love
- 8:24Speaker 2: new kids. Like, I mean, I'm just a boy band girl, right?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Like I fully love each and every chapter of boy
- 8:31Speaker 2: band dumb. And to see Donnie Wahlberg greet the Jonas
- 8:36Speaker 2: Brothers in the box at a Backstreet Boys concert, like
- 8:40Speaker 2: I just couldn't handle it. I was like, I actually
- 8:43Speaker 2: can't think too deeply about this.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So like I specifically didn't ask anybody on the team
- 8:48Speaker 1: that I know any questions about this because I want
- 8:51Speaker 1: to like theorize as like an actual fan. But like
- 8:55Speaker 1: them going to the sphere, I'm like, are they checking
- 8:57Speaker 1: this out to maybe like have a residency there?
- 9:00Speaker 2: Did Nick not go last year? I feel like Nick
- 9:03Speaker 2: did go to Backstreet last year, but by himself.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Having all three of them there, it felt like they
- 9:09Speaker 1: were taking notes and observing it in a way like, oh,
- 9:13Speaker 1: maybe this is something that we could do at some point.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Well, do you remember that internet rumor or speculation from
- 9:22Speaker 2: a couple months ago where Nick said, when we have
- 9:24Speaker 2: our Spear residency, and then he said.
- 9:27Speaker 1: He said that?
- 9:29Speaker 2: He said- I mean, you know, down the road if
- 9:31Speaker 2: that ever happens. But then people started to like kind
- 9:37Speaker 2: of dissect that statement. I wonder how many years it
- 9:41Speaker 2: takes to plan one of those.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Did you go back straight last?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Did you go back straight? I'm going to go in
- 9:46Speaker 2: January again. I wasn't able to this summer and I
- 9:50Speaker 2: want to take my dad and my sister. So we're taking,
- 9:52Speaker 2: you know, figuring out a time and make it all go.
- 9:54Speaker 1: If the Jonas brothers have a Las Vegas residency, I'm
- 10:00Speaker 1: going to.
- 10:00Speaker 2: You and I are going to move to Vegas.
- 10:02Speaker 1: It's going to like hop on a plane every weekend. Like,
- 10:05Speaker 1: are you joking? That would be so fun.
- 10:09Speaker 2: We could make this entire podcast probably just Jonas Topic.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 2: But, like, I don't even think that that would be
- 10:16Speaker 2: something they were in talks for just because we have
- 10:19Speaker 2: this whole tour in front of us right now.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I feel like this would be a couple years down
- 10:24Speaker 2: the road.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not going to happen anytime soon.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm wondering that, like, how many... Does it take, like,
- 10:31Speaker 2: at least a year to come up with those visuals
- 10:33Speaker 2: in that scale? No. Because... What are you talking about?
- 10:36Speaker 2: You don't think it takes a year to come up
- 10:38Speaker 2: with those sphere visuals?
- 10:41Speaker 1: Not when you have Jonas brains. So maybe next fall
- 10:47Speaker 1: we'll get the sphere? I'm going to move on from
- 10:49Speaker 1: the Jonas Brothers. Are you going to any Harry shows
- 10:51Speaker 1: at Madison Square Garden during his residency there?
- 10:53Speaker 2: Okay, so he has 30 shows, right? And how far
- 10:56Speaker 2: are they spread out?
- 10:59Speaker 1: That's a Mark question. I'm going to have to have
- 11:01Speaker 1: him look, but they are pretty spread out. It started,
- 11:04Speaker 1: it started like last week and I think he goes
- 11:06Speaker 1: through definitely through Halloween cause he's doing Harryween. So probably
- 11:09Speaker 1: end of October. It's probably the last one.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Okay. This is straight up honest. I love Harry Styles
- 11:17Speaker 2: for like the entity that he is, but like when
- 11:19Speaker 2: his hair is as short as it is right now,
- 11:21Speaker 2: it just doesn't cut it for me. Oh wow. I know. Whoops.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. It's just, and, and Tonya, I really
- 11:31Speaker 2: miss old Harry. Like I miss 2016 Harry. Like I
- 11:35Speaker 2: love like rock star, like dirty, grungy, like dark, like
- 11:38Speaker 2: leather Harry and not like, like button down dresses. Harry.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Oh, I love this Harry. And I love this album.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I know this album was a little bit controversial, but like,
- 11:50Speaker 1: I really loved it.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Oh, see, I listened to it once and I was
- 11:54Speaker 2: just like, it's not, OK, we're going.
- 11:56Speaker 1: To move on because like this is just like this
- 11:59Speaker 1: is this is offensive.
- 12:00Speaker 2: We move on from this whole pop star thing. Do
- 12:03Speaker 2: you love the new Jonas song and the fact that
- 12:05Speaker 2: like every single time? they come out with new music.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I'm never disappointed. That's the greatest, one of the greatest
- 12:11Speaker 2: components about them.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Never disappointed.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Never disappointed. Like every album. I'm just like, you deliver
- 12:16Speaker 2: every time. No. Okay.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I have to just say this.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Consistency.
- 12:20Speaker 1: So Ashley was at the Friday night show of the
- 12:22Speaker 1: Jonas Brothers Madison Square Garden. And I was, I stayed
- 12:27Speaker 1: Thursday and Saturday.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:29Speaker 1: So Friday I left to like, go have dinner. Cause
- 12:31Speaker 1: I just needed like a date night with Robbie and
- 12:34Speaker 1: In the city.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Three nights in a row is a lot even for me.
- 12:36Speaker 2: You want to savor it. You want to enjoy it.
- 12:38Speaker 1: But the night that I left, I missed Rollercoaster, which
- 12:43Speaker 1: is one of my favorite Jonas Brothers songs ever. And
- 12:47Speaker 1: I'm like, that song like hits on another level that
- 12:51Speaker 1: like nobody really understands. And the fact that I missed
- 12:53Speaker 1: it really like hit me hard.
- 12:56Speaker 2: I know. I'm so sorry about that.
- 12:58Speaker 1: And they didn't do it the next night.
- 12:59Speaker 2: It's also one of my top five favorite songs. They need... Guys, hi.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Ashley and Tanya here. Really pitching the idea that it
- 13:06Speaker 2: needs to round out the tour. It needs to be
- 13:10Speaker 2: the last song every night because... It brings the burning
- 13:13Speaker 2: up tour and then the new era together. Yeah. And
- 13:18Speaker 2: then we're like all emotional thinking about how we've been
- 13:21Speaker 2: on this actual roller coaster for so many years.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And our own roller coasters of life. Of life.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Together alongside them and like all the albums representing
- 13:30Speaker 2: like different chapters of our lives. Okay.
- 13:32Speaker 1: And with that, we're done with the Jonas Brothers.
- 13:37Speaker 2: But I love Harry and I would like to see
- 13:39Speaker 2: Harry if given the opportunity. It's just one of those
- 13:42Speaker 2: things that I don't have. Like, if I can't make
- 13:44Speaker 2: it work, then I like won't make it work. You
- 13:46Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 13:47Speaker 1: It's fine. We're not going to fight over this.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I'm actually like, I'm interested. I'm like, you are this era, Harry.
- 13:54Speaker 1: We are going to take a quick break. But when
- 13:56Speaker 1: we come back, I want to talk about The Real
- 13:57Speaker 1: Housewives because... When I interviewed Ashley at Madison Square Garden,
- 14:01Speaker 1: the cheers and the crowd were going so loud for Ashley.
- 14:04Speaker 1: They told me to like extend with her because everybody
- 14:06Speaker 1: was like cheering so loud.
- 14:07Speaker 2: And that's the coolest thing I've ever heard. Yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 1: So I'm going to talk housewives when we come back.
- 14:28Speaker 2: We're back. Okay.
- 14:30Speaker 1: We are here. Also, by the way, do you, you
- 14:32Speaker 1: still go by Ashley? I, right?
- 14:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I will always go by Ashley. I sentimentally attached.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Ashley Haven.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Not really. Like sometimes, like if I'm doing something hosting
- 14:44Speaker 2: alongside Jared or we're like in something together, school stuff
- 14:49Speaker 2: for the kids, I'll do Ashley. I can Eddie Haven,
- 14:53Speaker 2: but I never legally changed it.
- 14:55Speaker 1: It's a pain in the ass. You did recently, right?
- 14:58Speaker 1: I did.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Your contact info on my phone just changed. I know.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Like, is that aggressive that everybody has this like gnarly
- 15:06Speaker 1: picture of me in like a blue suit?
- 15:07Speaker 2: I love it. I was changing it.
- 15:11Speaker 1: And Robbie was like, maybe make it like professional, you know?
- 15:13Speaker 1: And I was like, but I'm like, yes, I have
- 15:16Speaker 1: a job, but like my job isn't so professional.
- 15:19Speaker 2: No, the blue suit's great. It's a suit and it's bright. Yeah. Yeah.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I feel like I have the same one. It's a
- 15:24Speaker 2: house with CB. You and you're my house with CB sister.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, no, but like I change it now. My
- 15:29Speaker 1: TSA pre-check doesn't work. So I have to like go
- 15:32Speaker 1: like figure it all out.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I'm not going to do it, but it's very sweet
- 15:36Speaker 2: and traditional of you to do it. Like I would
- 15:38Speaker 2: like to do it, but I don't want to go
- 15:41Speaker 2: through all of that.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I wouldn't have done it if I really wanted to
- 15:44Speaker 1: make rad my middle name and you can't, you can't
- 15:47Speaker 1: do that. You just can't do that unless you go
- 15:51Speaker 1: through the whole process. I was like, if I'm going
- 15:52Speaker 1: to go through the whole process, I'm going to do
- 15:53Speaker 1: the whole shebang.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Did you drop your actual middle name? What is your
- 15:57Speaker 2: actual middle name?
- 15:58Speaker 1: I never had a middle name.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Oh, you never had one.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I don't want to drop Nicole.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Who calls you Ashley Nicole?
- 16:06Speaker 2: I don't know. I just like Ashley Nicole like an Eddie.
- 16:08Speaker 2: That's like just together.
- 16:09Speaker 1: You know what?
- 16:10Speaker 2: You do you.
- 16:11Speaker 1: But like, yeah, it was... such a long process. And like, still,
- 16:15Speaker 1: I feel like I finally finished it. Like I did everything,
- 16:17Speaker 1: like my credit cards, my bank, my health insurance, everything.
- 16:21Speaker 1: And then TSA pre-check, I keep getting like smacked with like, no,
- 16:24Speaker 1: you don't have it. I'm like, I did all this,
- 16:26Speaker 1: but okay. Anyways. So real housewives of Rhode Island, we
- 16:30Speaker 1: all watched you on the bachelor and you were like
- 16:33Speaker 1: bachelor darling. Now you're a real housewife, which is like
- 16:37Speaker 1: a whole other Like it literally is a whole other world.
- 16:42Speaker 2: That was the percentage.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Your first season, were you happy with how you came across?
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I told everybody, like the producers and such, I
- 16:52Speaker 2: was like, thank you for like actually showing my real self.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Like I'm like, I didn't have a huge role, which
- 16:59Speaker 2: was fine by me. But I was glad that what
- 17:03Speaker 2: was shown was very authentic to myself and how I
- 17:08Speaker 2: thought things went down.
- 17:09Speaker 1: What did you learn about yourself, like, watching season one back?
- 17:14Speaker 2: It wasn't so much watching it back. It was being
- 17:17Speaker 2: in it. And that is that, like, I... I don't
- 17:21Speaker 2: know if I'm... Am I so non-confrontational? Or am I
- 17:27Speaker 2: surrounded by very confrontational people? Like, I just... I'm not
- 17:31Speaker 2: highly bothered. Does that make sense? Yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 1: It takes a lot to rattle you.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, it... I'm not, I'm sensitive in the way
- 17:40Speaker 2: that like I cry easily and like I am more empathic,
- 17:44Speaker 2: but I am not very sensitive to what other people
- 17:48Speaker 2: like say about me. I am sensitive when it comes
- 17:52Speaker 2: to like affecting like my family.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Did that, did you, did other people's opinions about your
- 18:00Speaker 1: family bother you?
- 18:02Speaker 2: No, but I think that like, I mean, not in
- 18:05Speaker 2: season one or anything, but I think that I'm more
- 18:09Speaker 2: defensive when it comes to that stuff.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And when it's just about me, I can like laugh
- 18:15Speaker 2: at myself pretty easily.
- 18:17Speaker 1: But when it comes to anything about your family, you're like, no, no.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Yeah. It's like we have kids now, you know, we're
- 18:23Speaker 2: not just like this bachelor, like ha ha reality couple.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah. So you liked your experience this round?
- 18:30Speaker 2: The experience itself of filming, I found to be far
- 18:36Speaker 2: more challenging than Bachelor. There are two, there's Bachelor, you
- 18:40Speaker 2: are like submerged in a whole different world and you
- 18:44Speaker 2: like leave your regular world and you submerge yourself into
- 18:47Speaker 2: another world. And it's kind of like separate entities with Housewives.
- 18:52Speaker 2: It's documenting your life But I still was able to
- 18:57Speaker 2: separate during season one my filming life and my real life.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I don't know. This is so weird to describe, Tanya.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Because I was so much more... emotional in bachelor world
- 19:10Speaker 2: because like love is at stake and because like i'm
- 19:13Speaker 2: such a hopeless romantic and because i felt like jared
- 19:16Speaker 2: was the one and obviously you and i relate strongly
- 19:19Speaker 2: on that feeling of knowing that somebody is the one
- 19:22Speaker 2: and like things may not be like going in the
- 19:25Speaker 2: direction of you two being together but then like you
- 19:27Speaker 2: know it's supposed to happen i.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Still get dms about that by the way Yeah. Me too.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I get DMs all the time about, like, how do
- 19:36Speaker 2: you manifest this? Like, how do I get out of
- 19:38Speaker 2: the friend zone?
- 19:38Speaker 1: How did you hold on when, like, you guys were
- 19:41Speaker 1: broken up, not together? I'm like, I just knew he
- 19:44Speaker 1: was it. Like, I don't know what to say.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Like, I know. And then I always try to tell
- 19:49Speaker 2: people that like you and I are kind of the
- 19:51Speaker 2: exception to the rule. Like usually if some guy is
- 19:54Speaker 2: saying like, I can't right now, it usually means.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Like he can't. No, I'm like, and I'm probably the worst.
- 20:01Speaker 1: So I'm giving like the worst advice because someone's like,
- 20:04Speaker 1: my boyfriend just broke up with me. Like, how do
- 20:06Speaker 1: I move on? I'm like, why do you have to
- 20:07Speaker 1: move on? Like, if you think he's your guy, like.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm like, I didn't do that. Like I, Robbie and
- 20:15Speaker 1: I broke up and I was still like, this is
- 20:16Speaker 1: my guy. Like, I just know he's the one for me.
- 20:19Speaker 1: So I'm just gonna like do my thing until he
- 20:22Speaker 1: comes crawling back.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I tried to mentally like, I guess I tried to
- 20:28Speaker 2: mentally detach from Jared in, in chapters. What I would
- 20:32Speaker 2: do would be like, oh, okay. So it's not going
- 20:35Speaker 2: to happen this month. So I'll be chill this month.
- 20:37Speaker 2: And then we'll like start fresh again. Some other point.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Like I was always going into a reboot. Like I
- 20:44Speaker 2: was like, okay, not now. All right. Take a beat.
- 20:47Speaker 2: And then we'll go back into it in a little while. Right.
- 20:49Speaker 2: So I would able to detach and attach, like detach
- 20:52Speaker 2: and attach, like throughout that whole saga. But to go
- 20:57Speaker 2: back to what Housewives is different than Bachelor is I
- 21:01Speaker 2: find Housewives to be more, it was more draining for
- 21:08Speaker 2: me because there was so much conflict. And I think
- 21:12Speaker 2: that on Bachelor, because it was love-oriented, it just felt
- 21:17Speaker 2: different sometimes.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I will say, I love you so much. You're
- 21:23Speaker 1: literally one of my favorite people and I will support
- 21:25Speaker 1: you till... the end of the earth and back. But
- 21:29Speaker 1: watching the real housewives was a struggle for me because
- 21:32Speaker 1: of that.
- 21:32Speaker 2: And like, there was just, because you were like feeling
- 21:36Speaker 2: yourself in my position.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I could feel like, I'm like, there's so much chaos
- 21:41Speaker 1: going around. I couldn't even keep up with the chaos
- 21:44Speaker 1: at some point. I'm like, what are they fighting about?
- 21:47Speaker 2: Like, what? I'm like, what? there are times where I
- 21:52Speaker 2: am like, I'm stupid. Am I dumb? Because I can't
- 21:56Speaker 2: figure out why we're all so angry right now.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Yes.
- 22:00Speaker 2: It's like, am I following the story and I'll find
- 22:03Speaker 2: myself like narrating and repeating and like, okay, so this
- 22:07Speaker 2: is it.
- 22:07Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, but I felt like it was nice.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Cause I just feel like you were a little bit
- 22:14Speaker 1: of a breath of fresh air.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Oh, thanks. Yeah. Thank you so very much.
- 22:18Speaker 1: You're so welcome. Speaking of TV shows, do you watch
- 22:21Speaker 1: Love Island?
- 22:23Speaker 2: No. Because, you know, it feels too raunchy for me.
- 22:27Speaker 2: I know that you're obsessed. I know. How do you,
- 22:30Speaker 2: as such a clean, bubbly person, find yourself so obsessed
- 22:35Speaker 2: with the dirt that comes with Love Island?
- 22:38Speaker 1: Because at the end of the day, it's a show
- 22:39Speaker 1: about love, like you said.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Is it really? Does it feel lovey?
- 22:45Speaker 1: So, if you watch the UK, it does. The USA version,
- 22:51Speaker 1: not so much.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:54Speaker 1: But I just think I'm so in that like I
- 22:57Speaker 1: can't get off. You know what I mean? Like I'm
- 23:00Speaker 1: on the roller coaster and like I'm going to be
- 23:02Speaker 1: on it until it stops. But the reunion aired last
- 23:06Speaker 1: night and it was so hard to watch for several
- 23:12Speaker 1: different reasons. First of all, the season wrapped in like
- 23:14Speaker 1: June and it's now it aired August 31st. So it's
- 23:19Speaker 1: kind of like I forgot half of the stuff that
- 23:21Speaker 1: they like brought up.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I thought it was like live, though.
- 23:24Speaker 1: It wasn't. They filmed this like August 10th or something.
- 23:27Speaker 1: So it's been sitting on a shelf for like two weeks.
- 23:32Speaker 1: But yeah, it was like so bad. And then everything
- 23:34Speaker 1: was edited super, super tight. So I felt like I
- 23:36Speaker 1: was just like watching. It was like very like robotic.
- 23:39Speaker 1: And then they kept bringing stuff up that was like
- 23:41Speaker 1: not shown on the show. It was like stuff that
- 23:43Speaker 1: happened on social media after. And they weren't filling us
- 23:46Speaker 1: in on like what happened. So I found myself being like,
- 23:48Speaker 1: what are they even talking about? Oh, I know. It
- 23:51Speaker 1: was really disappointing as a fan. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I wish I could talk to you about this. It's
- 23:56Speaker 2: a lot of content for me.
- 23:58Speaker 1: It's a lot of content.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And I will say that because I think I've been
- 24:02Speaker 2: on reality TV so much that watching reality TV is
- 24:07Speaker 2: often not relaxing for me. So I'm like very much
- 24:11Speaker 2: a scripted girl because that's where I can detach and like,
- 24:15Speaker 2: you know, live in a fantasy life.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Okay, so I find scripted TV show, like I have
- 24:20Speaker 1: to sit and focus and like watch the TV. Whereas
- 24:22Speaker 1: if I'm watching reality, I can like be on my phone.
- 24:24Speaker 1: I can be like doing my hair.
- 24:26Speaker 2: But that's what I want, Tanya.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Oh, you want to lock in. I want something where.
- 24:29Speaker 2: I put the phone down and yeah, like follow a story.
- 24:33Speaker 1: So what are you watching right now?
- 24:36Speaker 2: Really? Okay, the last one that I wrapped, and this
- 24:40Speaker 2: is how little I can watch TV right now with children,
- 24:43Speaker 2: was Cape Fear.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I haven't even heard of that. Cape Fear?
- 24:50Speaker 2: Cape Fear with Amy Adams and Javier Bardem. It was
- 24:53Speaker 2: on Apple.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Was it old?
- 24:55Speaker 2: Is it old, Mark? No, it just wrapped in the
- 24:57Speaker 2: middle of July.
- 24:58Speaker 1: There was an old movie back in the late 80s
- 25:00Speaker 1: and the 90s. Oh, I'm like, what is Ashley watching?
- 25:03Speaker 2: They made a series just recently, yeah. Okay, okay. And
- 25:07Speaker 2: then I just started last night. This is mom life, Tanya.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I know the boys, the stepboys, are a little bit
- 25:14Speaker 2: older now. but our boys go to bed way too late.
- 25:17Speaker 2: That's because I want them to sleep in. And I
- 25:19Speaker 2: will usually have like an hour to watch TV at
- 25:21Speaker 2: night and I'll watch like a movie in three parts.
- 25:25Speaker 2: So the other yesterday I started, this is how delayed
- 25:28Speaker 2: I am. I started watching that movie with Nick Robinson, uh,
- 25:38Speaker 2: voicemails from Isabel. Oh yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I think, I think I'm too emotionally raw to watch that.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I've been told to like stay away. Okay. But you
- 25:47Speaker 1: watch it three different nights.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 25:50Speaker 1: We do like now my step-sons, one of them still
- 25:54Speaker 1: likes to watch TV with us. One of them wants
- 25:56Speaker 1: nothing to do at night with us. Um, but we
- 25:59Speaker 1: still like, they still go to bed an hour before
- 26:02Speaker 1: we do. So we have like an hour note. to
- 26:05Speaker 1: watch at night at least. And then we have them 50%
- 26:08Speaker 1: of the time. So 50% of the time we can
- 26:10Speaker 1: watch however much we want.
- 26:12Speaker 2: See the weekends that you don't have them. Like I
- 26:15Speaker 2: imagine that you could just binge watch TV and I
- 26:18Speaker 2: haven't been able to do that for four and a
- 26:19Speaker 2: half years.
- 26:20Speaker 1: You know, I think about this too, because obviously like we're,
- 26:22Speaker 1: we're trying to have our own and I'm like, I can't,
- 26:24Speaker 1: it's so weird imagining having kids a hundred percent of
- 26:27Speaker 1: the time because we have them 50% of the time.
- 26:30Speaker 1: And it is, it's true. Like Robbie doesn't like to
- 26:33Speaker 1: make plans when we have the kids in terms of like,
- 26:36Speaker 1: he doesn't want to like go out to dinner with
- 26:37Speaker 1: friends when we have them, like get a babysitter because
- 26:40Speaker 1: we only have them 50%. Yeah. So when we have them,
- 26:42Speaker 1: we have them and we're home. And then when we
- 26:44Speaker 1: don't have them, that's when we make all of our
- 26:46Speaker 1: plans with like our friends. So like, we're like socializing
- 26:49Speaker 1: when we don't, we're doing all this stuff that, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 1: going out. So we really don't have that much time
- 26:53Speaker 1: to like sit and binge and just like do nothing
- 26:56Speaker 1: because like, We stack it on both sides.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Totally. Yeah. Jared and I feel guilty because, you know,
- 27:03Speaker 2: when we have our nanny during the day until like
- 27:06Speaker 2: 930 to 530, then when we would feel so bad
- 27:11Speaker 2: to get a baby, we do feel bad. We do
- 27:14Speaker 2: it like once a month. But to have a babysitter
- 27:16Speaker 2: on a Saturday night or on a weekday night where
- 27:19Speaker 2: that extends our time not with them. Like we really
- 27:22Speaker 2: feel like outside of work hours, we should constantly be
- 27:25Speaker 2: with them. Yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 1: And like we'll do it if like there's a huge
- 27:29Speaker 1: like if there's a banquet that we need to go
- 27:31Speaker 1: to or like a friend's birthday. Like, you know, if
- 27:34Speaker 1: there's something like important, it's like that day and it's
- 27:37Speaker 1: a big thing, then we'll do it. But if it's
- 27:39Speaker 1: just like dinner with friends or like catching up with people,
- 27:43Speaker 1: we always do that on the days that we don't
- 27:45Speaker 1: have them.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel you.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Actually, speaking of kids, there are a couple of
- 27:52Speaker 1: things that you talked about that are like very hot
- 27:54Speaker 1: topics that I want to get into, but I want
- 27:56Speaker 1: to take a quick break. We're back.
- 28:17Speaker 2: We're back.
- 28:18Speaker 1: We're back, baby.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:19Speaker 1: So there are two things that you have recently talked. Well,
- 28:21Speaker 1: I don't know if recently, but think two things that
- 28:23Speaker 1: you've talked about that I feel like are very controversial. One,
- 28:27Speaker 1: one I agree with and when I absolutely don't agree with.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:32Speaker 1: So the first one is birthday parties for your kids
- 28:34Speaker 1: are a waste of money before they turn two.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. You don't agree with this.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Correct.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah. This is definitely something I can see both sides of.
- 28:44Speaker 1: So walk me through your rationale.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Okay. So I just don't think that I think the
- 28:52Speaker 2: birthday party is for the, obviously the parent.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yes, but you're the parent.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't need that. Like, I just don't
- 29:01Speaker 2: need all my friends to get together to, I don't know.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I think it just seems like such a hassle when
- 29:08Speaker 2: it's for the parent and it, cause I don't want it.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Like I don't want to put together, but that makes
- 29:12Speaker 2: me feel guilty because now you're saying like, you don't
- 29:15Speaker 2: want to celebrate your kid. No, it's like, I want
- 29:17Speaker 2: to celebrate my kid, but I want to celebrate them
- 29:18Speaker 2: doing what they would want to do, which is like
- 29:21Speaker 2: probably just going to like Chucky's instead of like going,
- 29:25Speaker 2: having like a zillion people over for, a zillion people
- 29:29Speaker 2: over with a house or like someplace that they wouldn't
- 29:32Speaker 2: actually care about going.
- 29:33Speaker 1: I mean, I do think there's like a middle ground.
- 29:36Speaker 2: There's so when Dawson was going to turn 30, he
- 29:41Speaker 2: said he like very much said i want a chucky
- 29:43Speaker 2: cheese birthday party and then we were like oh my
- 29:46Speaker 2: gosh of course i'll out have all the friends come
- 29:49Speaker 2: like our friends too and it was so much fun
- 29:52Speaker 2: and i loved it but we if for his second birthday,
- 29:56Speaker 2: you know, when they're barely speaking and when Hayden, you know,
- 29:59Speaker 2: still like not a lot of talking, we were like,
- 30:02Speaker 2: what do we do today? And we just like did
- 30:04Speaker 2: a family day where we went to the mall and
- 30:06Speaker 2: like they rode like the carousel and then like these
- 30:10Speaker 2: little motorcycles they have at the mall. And then we
- 30:12Speaker 2: went to a family dinner and then like we set
- 30:15Speaker 2: up Aladdin themed party stuff and had cupcakes with the family.
- 30:20Speaker 1: That's cute.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's not like that I don't celebrate
- 30:23Speaker 2: the kid's birthday. It's just that I don't plan, I
- 30:26Speaker 2: didn't plan birthday parties for both of their second, first
- 30:30Speaker 2: and second birthdays.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Okay, I understood. I do feel like there's a little
- 30:34Speaker 1: bit of like a phenomenon right now where people just
- 30:38Speaker 1: like blow out the first birthday parties and they do
- 30:41Speaker 1: like a full thing, which I do feel like is
- 30:44Speaker 1: a waste of money. And I also feel like, and
- 30:48Speaker 1: you can tell me because I'm like, When you have
- 30:52Speaker 1: kids and you throw a party, do you invite your
- 30:54Speaker 1: friends that don't have kids?
- 30:58Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing. I think that if Jared and
- 31:01Speaker 2: I had more friends.
- 31:04Speaker 1: With kids.
- 31:05Speaker 2: When the kids were one and two, particularly Dawson, because
- 31:08Speaker 2: I feel like now with Hayden, we have kids. We
- 31:11Speaker 2: have more friends that have kids. But when Dawson was
- 31:15Speaker 2: turning one and two, it was like the kids... The
- 31:20Speaker 2: kids of our friends were, like, just not amongst the
- 31:23Speaker 2: same age group as him. Like, it wasn't like they
- 31:26Speaker 2: were going to get together and play at this party. Yeah.
- 31:29Speaker 2: It was like, yeah, it just didn't make any sense.
- 31:33Speaker 2: You were going to have a whole bunch of people
- 31:34Speaker 2: and a lot of them weren't going to have babies.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Right. Yeah.
- 31:38Speaker 2: It's like, hey, nine-year-old, do you want to come to
- 31:40Speaker 2: a baby's birthday party? Like, I don't know. No. Or, hey,
- 31:44Speaker 2: people who don't have kids, do you want to go
- 31:46Speaker 2: to a one-year-old's birthday party?
- 31:48Speaker 1: Like, no, I never want to go to a one-year-old's
- 31:50Speaker 1: birthday party unless it's like a family member. Like, I
- 31:53Speaker 1: just don't.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Exactly. So I think we're trying to save other people
- 31:58Speaker 2: from the hassle as well. Yeah.
- 32:01Speaker 1: The second thing that you were talking about was, and
- 32:04Speaker 1: this might be a little sensitive, I don't know, but
- 32:07Speaker 1: gender disappointment.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. No, I mean, I don't care. We could
- 32:11Speaker 2: talk up the wazoo about this.
- 32:12Speaker 1: But I think it's like a very real thing because
- 32:15Speaker 1: I also had a friend that experienced this as well.
- 32:19Speaker 1: And I think that there's like, and this is why
- 32:22Speaker 1: I don't really talk so much about my fertility stuff
- 32:25Speaker 1: that's going on because I think that, people get so sensitive.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Like if I say I'm like, you know, I've been
- 32:31Speaker 1: trying for over a year and then somebody's like, well,
- 32:34Speaker 1: I've been trying for six years and I've been doing this.
- 32:37Speaker 1: And it's, there's so much of that, that it's like hard.
- 32:42Speaker 1: You don't want to say something wrong. That's going to
- 32:44Speaker 1: like upset somebody. Cause it's true. Like you talk about
- 32:48Speaker 1: gender disappointment, people are like, well, you should just be
- 32:50Speaker 1: happy that you have a healthy baby. I've been struggling
- 32:52Speaker 1: and dah, dah, dah. But it's like, that is like
- 32:54Speaker 1: a real emotion that people go through and people feel,
- 32:57Speaker 1: and there is space for all of those things.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Absolutely. That, um, it was like when I was, when
- 33:05Speaker 2: I had hyperemesis gravidarium with hate it with Dawson. So
- 33:10Speaker 2: I had the thing where I basically couldn't keep down
- 33:14Speaker 2: any water. So I was on my V for like
- 33:16Speaker 2: 16 weeks. So my first trimester with Dawson, and then
- 33:19Speaker 2: I was without Zofran. I could throw up like pretty
- 33:24Speaker 2: much every day. through 30 weeks. And I was on
- 33:27Speaker 2: Zofran for so many of the days and it was just,
- 33:30Speaker 2: you know, traumatic. It was honestly a traumatic pregnancy. I mean,
- 33:37Speaker 2: I also traumatic is a word that I don't want
- 33:39Speaker 2: to like throw around either, but it was like really,
- 33:42Speaker 2: really tough. Imagine having the stomach bug for 30 weeks.
- 33:45Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yeah. So, um, when I
- 33:50Speaker 2: would talk about that, I was always kind of careful too,
- 33:53Speaker 2: because I didn't want to overdo it because then people
- 33:55Speaker 2: are like, I would kill to be pregnant and I'd
- 33:58Speaker 2: be throwing up every day. Like I'm okay. I would
- 34:00Speaker 2: take that to be pregnant. So I totally understand. There's
- 34:04Speaker 2: so much sensitivity talking about anything when it comes to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And gender.
- 34:12Speaker 2: And gender. So, um, here's my take. And I mean,
- 34:17Speaker 2: I get messages all the time that say like, you're
- 34:20Speaker 2: going to try for the third. You guys need a girl.
- 34:22Speaker 2: You guys need a girl. So many people will tell
- 34:23Speaker 2: you like, you're not complete until you have a daughter. Really? Yeah.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Like a lot of people are like, you'll never, like
- 34:30Speaker 2: you won't understand or blah, blah, blah. And I'm like,
- 34:33Speaker 2: I am so perfectly content with having two boys. And
- 34:39Speaker 2: I actually didn't think I would be that way because...
- 34:43Speaker 2: especially when I found out that Dawson was a boy
- 34:46Speaker 2: because I always really wanted only two kids, but I
- 34:49Speaker 2: always wanted sisters too, because I came from a place
- 34:53Speaker 2: where I was, I am like a Siamese twin with
- 34:57Speaker 2: my sister. She's on FaceTime like five times a day. Um,
- 35:02Speaker 2: so when I found out that Dawson wasn't going to
- 35:04Speaker 2: be a girl, then I was like, Oh my gosh,
- 35:07Speaker 2: I'm like not going to have sisters. And that was
- 35:10Speaker 2: kind of like, Oh, And then all the daydreams of
- 35:16Speaker 2: me going to American Girl doll and playing dress up
- 35:20Speaker 2: and taking her to boy band concerts the way that
- 35:23Speaker 2: my mom took us was like out the window. So
- 35:27Speaker 2: I felt that more before I had, when I found
- 35:31Speaker 2: out Dawson, the first was a boy. And then when
- 35:35Speaker 2: I found out Hayden was a boy after coming to
- 35:38Speaker 2: know what it was like having a boy, and how
- 35:41Speaker 2: absolutely angelic he is and how much they're obsessed with
- 35:45Speaker 2: their moms and just like how fulfilling it is to
- 35:48Speaker 2: have a boy. I was a lot less disappointed when
- 35:51Speaker 2: I found out that Hayden was going to be a boy.
- 35:53Speaker 2: I didn't really care so much there. I had like
- 35:56Speaker 2: a moment. I mean, when I mean a moment, it
- 35:57Speaker 2: was like 10 minutes of being like, wow, I'm just
- 36:00Speaker 2: never going to be a mom to a girl. That's
- 36:03Speaker 2: so crazy because you imagine it your whole life.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Yeah, your whole life.
- 36:08Speaker 2: And it's, like, fun. It's, like, sad. It's sad, honestly,
- 36:11Speaker 2: because there's barely ever any gender disappointment when it comes
- 36:15Speaker 2: to girls. Like, because the mom always wants a girl, right? Yeah.
- 36:19Speaker 2: It's the dads that, like, feel like sometimes they need
- 36:22Speaker 2: a boy. Right. But male gender disappointment, dad gender disappointment
- 36:27Speaker 2: is never talked about.
- 36:29Speaker 1: You're so right, actually, now that I think about it.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It is interesting, though, like, seeing, like.
- 36:38Speaker 1: From a different perspective, because my stepkids are a little
- 36:40Speaker 1: bit older, like they're so chill, like the boys, you know,
- 36:46Speaker 1: like they're not in that rambunctious phase. Like they're just
- 36:48Speaker 1: like chill. And I see the girls and they're great.
- 36:51Speaker 1: And like, they're going to like Starbucks and Sephora. And
- 36:54Speaker 1: I'm just like, oh my gosh, that would, that would
- 36:57Speaker 1: like send me.
- 37:00Speaker 2: It swaps for sure. Because if you talk to anybody
- 37:03Speaker 2: who has like a preteen girl, they look at you
- 37:06Speaker 2: with boys and they're like, wow, you guys are going to,
- 37:09Speaker 2: you're having your hard era now and then you're going
- 37:11Speaker 2: to be happy later. I was never like that girl though.
- 37:17Speaker 2: You know, I was never a girl that was very
- 37:19Speaker 2: susceptible to peer pressure or whatnot. So I, I wonder
- 37:24Speaker 2: how our kid would turn out. I mean, it's normal
- 37:27Speaker 2: to be the girl of today for sure. Yeah.
- 37:31Speaker 1: But honestly, you also never know. Like you're young.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I'm, oh, Tanya.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I know, but I'm just saying, I'm just saying right
- 37:38Speaker 1: now you're done. Right now you're done. But like you
- 37:41Speaker 1: might in like five years be like, let's just.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Five years. I would never start fresh in five years.
- 37:48Speaker 1: You never know. I have friends. I have friends that
- 37:51Speaker 1: their kids are in their teens and they want another.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Wow. What do you care about having a girl or
- 38:00Speaker 2: a boy? If you had, I mean, you have step boys,
- 38:02Speaker 2: I would assume. Yeah, I know.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I try not to like, I try. I'm just like,
- 38:09Speaker 1: especially with where I'm at. I'm like, just give me
- 38:11Speaker 1: a healthy child. Um, but because we do have two,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I have two step sons. I do think like a girl,
- 38:19Speaker 1: you know, but then I'm like, I love my step sons.
- 38:23Speaker 1: So yeah. boy would be cool too.
- 38:28Speaker 2: When we got the results for the second Hayden, I
- 38:32Speaker 2: was so much more like concerned about health. It's so crazy.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Like, yeah, you're just like, let's literally get the test
- 38:40Speaker 2: to come back. Good.
- 38:41Speaker 1: That's literally all I want is just like happy, healthy baby.
- 38:44Speaker 1: But then I also do like, I fantasize, fantasize about
- 38:47Speaker 1: Robbie with like a little girl too. Cause he, even
- 38:49Speaker 1: though he's like such a good No. And he's such
- 38:51Speaker 1: a good boy dad, but.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Like he is, I can see him as.
- 38:56Speaker 1: A girl dad at heart. Like he, he has everything
- 38:59Speaker 1: in him like to be a girl dad.
- 39:01Speaker 2: So Tanya, exactly the way I feel about Jared. Cause
- 39:05Speaker 2: I feel like Jared and Robbie are very similar. They
- 39:08Speaker 2: got similar vibes. And if I were to ever try
- 39:12Speaker 2: for another child, like I would want him to have
- 39:15Speaker 2: a girl like that's the I don't even care about myself, really.
- 39:18Speaker 2: I want him to be the girl. Right. Oh, my God. Right.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Like I'm happy with either. And I know he is, too.
- 39:24Speaker 1: But I'm like, I just want to I want to
- 39:27Speaker 1: see that Cause he's such a good dad. Like I
- 39:29Speaker 1: want to see it. Like just the thought of him
- 39:31Speaker 1: taking like a little girl to ballet class. Like I,
- 39:34Speaker 1: I can't emotional. Yeah. It'll make me cry. So I'm
- 39:37Speaker 1: going to move on from that so that I don't cry.
- 39:39Speaker 1: I want to just like a little bit of your
- 39:43Speaker 1: opinion on some of the stories that came out this week.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Sure.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Billie Eilish officiates Phineas and his wife's wedding.
- 39:51Speaker 2: I mean, cute. Didn't you officiate a wedding? Yes, I did.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Do you recommend?
- 39:56Speaker 2: It was three years ago. I was stressed for months
- 40:00Speaker 2: about writing the ceremony and I'm really glad I did it.
- 40:06Speaker 2: And it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
- 40:08Speaker 2: And it was cool.
- 40:09Speaker 1: But I feel like you don't get to enjoy as much.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Like you're stressed.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Um, No, it's like super special. You are stressed until
- 40:18Speaker 2: it's written. And once it's written, then you can kind
- 40:21Speaker 2: of chill. Cause like, I think the whole thing is
- 40:23Speaker 2: cause like, think about it, like the, the, the ceremony
- 40:27Speaker 2: and then you get to relax.
- 40:29Speaker 1: I know, but it's just like so high stress. Like
- 40:31Speaker 1: you can't have fun, like at the rehearsal dinner because
- 40:34Speaker 1: you have to like perform the next day.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Yeah, there is that, you know what I mean? I would, Yeah,
- 40:39Speaker 2: and you are like, this is the biggest moment of
- 40:42Speaker 2: these people's lives, and they are just giving you that
- 40:45Speaker 2: responsibility to make it as sentimental and romantic and storytelling
- 40:52Speaker 2: as possible. I think I did a good job with it,
- 40:55Speaker 2: but that weight is on your shoulders. It was a friend.
- 41:00Speaker 2: It wasn't like a best friend. Yeah, so that makes
- 41:05Speaker 2: it better, but.
- 41:07Speaker 2: That makes it better as far as like the enjoyment
- 41:09Speaker 2: of the weekend goes.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I'm trying to throw Robbie's name in the hat for
- 41:13Speaker 1: Becca and Haley's wedding for him to officiate. But then
- 41:18Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know. I don't want to put that.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I feel like that's on. You're going to be like
- 41:24Speaker 2: the best girl speech. You're going to be like the
- 41:26Speaker 2: bridesmaid speech. But I feel like why Robbie and not
- 41:30Speaker 2: you if we're going to go that route?
- 41:32Speaker 1: Because I do think that they want a man to
- 41:35Speaker 1: cut up the.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Okay. Any others? Any others that are up for debate there?
- 41:44Speaker 1: There is one other. I just don't know if she's
- 41:46Speaker 1: like said it. So I don't want to like speak
- 41:48Speaker 1: on her behalf.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Mark and Easton.
- 41:53Speaker 1: I don't know if she said it or not. I
- 41:54Speaker 1: don't think she cares, but I don't know.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Okay. But yeah, he, Robbie, she's thrown out Robbie's name. Okay.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I'm like, he's an officiator. But I'm like, I don't know. Like,
- 42:08Speaker 1: I'm like, I keep thinking if it's not going to
- 42:11Speaker 1: let him enjoy the wedding as much because he has
- 42:14Speaker 1: to be like on or I don't know if he
- 42:17Speaker 1: internalizes things as much as I do. You know what
- 42:19Speaker 1: I mean? Like, I think Robbie can handle like high
- 42:21Speaker 1: pressure situations and just like execute.
- 42:24Speaker 2: That is like what I love about our husbands too,
- 42:28Speaker 2: is they're just able to speak from the heart so eloquently.
- 42:31Speaker 2: And I am a fangirl about it. Like whenever it
- 42:33Speaker 2: comes to like me explaining my heart, I'm like.
- 42:36Speaker 1: And then, and like, and then like, he just has words.
- 42:47Speaker 2: He has pose. He has poetry.
- 42:50Speaker 1: When I tell you, when we give up, when we
- 42:52Speaker 1: stand up at Thanksgiving to give a speech to our
- 42:56Speaker 1: guests or whatever, I sound like such a donk. And
- 43:00Speaker 1: Robbie stands up and is just like, he crushes it.
- 43:03Speaker 1: And I'm just like, you know what? You just get
- 43:05Speaker 1: up and speak for the both of us. I'm done
- 43:07Speaker 1: splitting this.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Same. I'm like... You are so eloquent. It's a quality
- 43:14Speaker 2: that I'm so glad I married into. It is.
- 43:17Speaker 1: It's very nice. But I always feel bad on my birthday.
- 43:20Speaker 1: His speech is always just so good. And I stand
- 43:23Speaker 1: up and I cry. There's this video of me giving
- 43:26Speaker 1: a speech on one of his birthdays. And I'm just sobbing,
- 43:29Speaker 1: bawling my eyes out. I'm like, he would never.
- 43:37Speaker 2: No, this is why you and I are the same
- 43:39Speaker 2: person in so many ways. It's like people know that
- 43:41Speaker 2: it's from the heart and it's endearing and such, but
- 43:44Speaker 2: it's just like, we're just going to cry through like
- 43:47Speaker 2: a whole bunch of explanations of our feelings.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Chumbled, but cute. Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 1: And it's like nice to have that person like speak
- 43:58Speaker 1: for us, like with school things and like, you know
- 44:00Speaker 1: what I mean? Yeah.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Maybe I'll get there someday. I'm just like too emotional.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. Maybe I'll get better with age.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Never know. It's never too late. I love you
- 44:20Speaker 1: so much. And I just wanted to thank you again
- 44:21Speaker 1: for taking the time to scrub in because I just
- 44:24Speaker 1: I love you. And I just like needed a light.
- 44:26Speaker 1: A light laugh, a lighthearted laugh today.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Thanks. I'm so glad I could be of service. And
- 44:33Speaker 2: I also think it's great that if we take it
- 44:37Speaker 2: back to the roots, this podcast was founded on Grey's Anatomy.
- 44:43Speaker 2: And it was something that you watched a very similar
- 44:47Speaker 2: time as I. We took it up together, kind of. Yeah.
- 44:52Speaker 2: And then, you know, I rewatched it while I was
- 44:54Speaker 2: pregnant and sick with Dawson. And I, um, I got,
- 44:59Speaker 2: I got through a lot of hard days watching about
- 45:01Speaker 2: nine episodes with my mom per day. I, okay.
- 45:04Speaker 1: So I really want to watch, I think they just
- 45:06Speaker 1: put it on Hulu. I think it just moved over
- 45:09Speaker 1: to Hulu. It's like newly on some streaming device because
- 45:12Speaker 1: it's been popping up in my Instagram, like some of
- 45:14Speaker 1: the like old clips. And I'm like the old first,
- 45:18Speaker 1: like six seasons were such magic. I want to watch
- 45:22Speaker 1: those with Robbie so bad. But he's not like a
- 45:26Speaker 1: medical show guy.
- 45:27Speaker 2: It just hits different. It's so amazing. I'm telling you,
- 45:34Speaker 2: because I watched it for the first time through Becca
- 45:36Speaker 2: in 2005. 15, 16. And then like, because I, it
- 45:47Speaker 2: was actually so long, it was like seven years later,
- 45:50Speaker 2: six years later, I got pregnant with Dawson and then
- 45:53Speaker 2: I rewatched it and it completely like Would take me
- 45:57Speaker 2: out of the nausea that I was experiencing because I
- 46:00Speaker 2: got so wrapped up in the storyline again. And it
- 46:02Speaker 2: was comfortable because I had already known the characters. Yeah.
- 46:05Speaker 2: But I forgot the detailed storylines. And that's what I'm saying.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I feel like it's been so long since I've watched it. Yeah.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Maybe I'll do that. Feels like a good thing to.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Or maybe you wait until you're pregnant.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Oh, and do it then? Yeah. Yeah. It feels dark though,
- 46:22Speaker 1: because I feel like some of those, some of those
- 46:24Speaker 1: episodes when like they like lose people, I get really emotional.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 46:29Speaker 1: I'm kind of in this phase of life right now
- 46:31Speaker 1: because I'm so emotionally unstable that like I cannot watch
- 46:35Speaker 1: anything that's going to like send me. So I'm watching again,
- 46:38Speaker 1: like Love Island is not going to send me down
- 46:41Speaker 1: like a dark spiral. I'm watching a lot of, food network,
- 46:44Speaker 1: like chopped and barbecue brawl. Cause that's like light.
- 46:48Speaker 2: I just want to go eat now. Yeah.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Like I try and just watch things that are like very,
- 46:52Speaker 1: just like light, funny. I can't do the hard stuff
- 46:54Speaker 1: right now.
- 46:55Speaker 2: That's like, I don't watch that. What's that? Sorry. I
- 46:58Speaker 2: know we're wrapping this up, but what's that HBO show
- 47:00Speaker 2: where everybody loves the medical one, the pit, the pit. Like,
- 47:04Speaker 2: I don't think I can watch the pit now that
- 47:05Speaker 2: I'm a mom.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I can't do that stuff. That's not relaxing.
- 47:11Speaker 2: That's not going to I'm not going to put that
- 47:12Speaker 2: on for my hour of TV time and be like, oh, yeah,
- 47:14Speaker 2: let's unwind to like a child in the ER.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, did you ever watch Adolescence? That was like
- 47:20Speaker 1: a huge show. And Robbie was like, I just can't
- 47:23Speaker 1: like I was like a 12 year old boy. And
- 47:25Speaker 1: like he was just like, I can't I can't watch it.
- 47:27Speaker 1: I'm like, no, no, no, no. I need like light
- 47:31Speaker 1: and breezy right now.
- 47:34Speaker 2: You were talking about how you had me on because
- 47:36Speaker 2: I'm light and breezy. And then we were like, yeah,
- 47:38Speaker 2: medical dramas about death. Let's wrap it like this.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I love you so, so much.
- 47:46Speaker 2: I love you so, so much.
- 47:48Speaker 1: Is there anything that we can tell everybody if they
- 47:51Speaker 1: want to listen to more of Ashley? You can listen
- 47:54Speaker 1: to the Almost Famous podcast.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Gotta listen to the Almost Famous podcast. We talk about
- 47:58Speaker 2: a lot of things on there, not just Bachelor stuff,
- 48:00Speaker 2: but you know, a lot of Bachelor stuff. And poor
- 48:02Speaker 2: Ben is like recapping Housewives things now because that's where
- 48:06Speaker 2: I'm at.
- 48:08Speaker 1: You can also watch Ashley on The Real Housewives of
- 48:10Speaker 1: Rhode Island.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Which, you know, I don't know if I'm on it
- 48:13Speaker 2: or not, but it'll.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Come out again. The last season. Can't you just, can't
- 48:18Speaker 1: you watch those?
- 48:19Speaker 2: You can watch that. Yeah, of course, on Peacock.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:22Speaker 2: And it has been renewed for season two, which is awesome.
- 48:26Speaker 2: And then just follow me on Instagram for all like
- 48:29Speaker 2: the mom content. That's what I really love doing, creating
- 48:32Speaker 2: the mom content. It's Ashley underscore Ikenetti.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Awesome. Ashley, I love you. Love you.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Love you so much.
