- 0:09Hello and welcome back to another episode of Battle
- 0:11Laurentia, how are you all doing?
- 0:13I hope you're doing great. Now for today's episode, we're
- 0:16going to be talking about Israel DMW.
- 0:21If you don't know Israel, he is dividos, logistic manager.
- 0:26Now we're just sitting there minding our business.
- 0:28Yeah. Israel and his wife, Sheila
- 0:31decided to bring their matters to social media in laws for us
- 0:35to discuss and weigh in on the issue that is going on between
- 0:40them. So if you don't know Israel and
- 0:43his wife, Sheila, they've been married for, they married last
- 0:45year, October. They met February last year.
- 0:49And then they got married in October.
- 0:51Very big wedding, lavish wedding.
- 0:54And then Israel came online to say that one of the reasons why
- 0:57he married his wife was because she was a virgin.
- 1:01And everybody was like, wow, at that point.
- 1:03Sheila was 2021 at that point. So people were like, wow,
- 1:08Sheila, you are a virgin. So this is very good.
- 1:12Now, Israel was so happy that he got a virgin.
- 1:16By the way, Israel is 41 years old, so 20 years gap in between
- 1:21these two people. But Israel wanted a virgin, so
- 1:27he got a virgin. He paid the bride price.
- 1:30They did a lavish wedding started living together.
- 1:34Now I think middle of this year probably June, July just love a
- 1:40shady post where he said that Israel and his wife they were
- 1:43having issues marital problem that Sheila has actually moved
- 1:47out of the house. Israel came online and debunked
- 1:51the whole thing saying that this level was lying.
- 1:54Why would people wish them bad and all that Even with the
- 1:57online those were like this is this is ridiculous, this we just
- 2:01got married. It's not even up to 8 months
- 2:03that they're married so why would their marriage be in
- 2:06trouble. Like definitely this is not
- 2:09true. So that was the whole thing.
- 2:11Just Love Actually said that they were going to give a full
- 2:13detail of the breakup. That was the end of that
- 2:17conversation at that point. So everybody thought, OK, this
- 2:20is what they've moved on with. Their life.
- 2:21They are newlyweds, isn't even up to a year so they should be
- 2:26enjoying their marriage together.
- 2:28And as we all know the videos side chick Anita was calling him
- 2:34out on social media and all those kind of things.
- 2:36So the heat was on the video at that point and then before you
- 2:40know trauma gave birth to twins. Congratulations to her so you
- 2:45could see that his boss. I mean the thing about this
- 2:48thirty Biggie gang is that all they are marriages are filled to
- 2:53be honest with you, with those cousins.
- 2:56I don't know what you don't know what's going on.
- 2:59I think the sets, the millennials, the guys, the
- 3:04millennial guys. I I think there's a a disconnect
- 3:08somewhere. But I am not going to see the
- 3:11millennial guys because you know we're all millennials and the
- 3:14genesis some of them are married and their marriage is successful
- 3:18anyway. We're just is there might not
- 3:20business thinking we're trying to solve Mr Ibu's problem with
- 3:23Jasmine and his wife. We're just still trying to get
- 3:28out of that situation. When Israel tweeted or posted a
- 3:33picture of Sheila and said my wife Sheila replied and said God
- 3:39forbid like your dreams. So that was all that went viral
- 3:44because people were thinking what is going on.
- 3:47I think it was their one year anniversary that Israel posted
- 3:51that picture. So people were like thinking you
- 3:54guys are supposed to be celebrating the one year
- 3:55anniversary and your wife Sheila is already saying God forbid
- 3:59what is going on. They kind of kept it hush hush
- 4:02hush hush until Israel started posting pictures of his
- 4:06ex-girlfriend saying that ohh she left him because of 150
- 4:12naira. I think that was in 2020, 2000
- 4:16or 2001 at that point. But today you know what is 150
- 4:20naira. So the 30 BG gang were reposting
- 4:23those pictures. I think it kind of rubbed his
- 4:27wife Sheila in some kind of way. I don't even know who started
- 4:31this online. That's bus and then she lasted
- 4:35talking. She last said they are no longer
- 4:38together. Israel is abusive.
- 4:41Israel is controlling. Israel will not allow her to go
- 4:44out of the house. That even when she wants to go
- 4:46to the salon, Israel would. She would tell Israel that he's
- 4:50going to the salon and then when she gets there, Israel will tell
- 4:53her don't come back to the house.
- 4:55And she would just leave everything because she said,
- 4:57according to her, he has locked her out of the house several
- 5:00times. So she said she would just leave
- 5:02everything and get back home only to find out that her
- 5:06husband actually locked her out of the house.
- 5:08She said that that has happened a lot of time.
- 5:11Now. We're still reading what Sheila
- 5:12was posting because Sheila, Sheila writes, I give it to her.
- 5:16She sat down, she composed and she, she was telling her own
- 5:20side of the story. So Israel started saying his own
- 5:24part of the story. According to Israel, he made
- 5:27Sheila famous that Sheila did not have any followers on
- 5:31Instagram. That Sheila goes with him just
- 5:34to be famous. No, not that she has a lot of
- 5:36followers. That she's no longer regarding
- 5:41him or she no longer wants to be married to him.
- 5:43That her parents were asking him for money.
- 5:47Israel produced receipts where he sent money to the parents
- 5:51saying that they are Deacon and deaconesses of one church like
- 5:55that. Winners, I think.
- 5:58And he was calling them out basically saying that they were
- 6:01responsible for the marriage breakup.
- 6:04She's on the other hand came out and said that is not true.
- 6:08Israel is just trying to get sympathy from people that yes
- 6:12was a virgin when they met. They met during a church
- 6:16service. He asked for her number and she
- 6:19refused because she was thinking OK, she she according to her,
- 6:22she said she didn't even know who Israel was at that point.
- 6:24So she refused to give Israel the number.
- 6:27Israel actually went through the that to get her number,
- 6:31presented all the whole church certificates and everything
- 6:34saying that he's a very attentive member of the church,
- 6:38that he has done all the whole programme and everything.
- 6:41So I think that that spoke to Sheila and they kind of set up
- 6:46something and they started dating.
- 6:48They dated. They I think they missed in
- 6:50January and in October they were already married.
- 6:53So Sheila said she did not even want to get married to Israel at
- 6:57that point. She said she wanted them to date
- 7:00for some time before they get married.
- 7:02But Israel was, I mean, he's 41 years old.
- 7:06He was thinking, OK, I just want to get married.
- 7:08I want to have children. I am settled now and all that.
- 7:11I think he was in that face. He just wanted to get married.
- 7:15So. But you're getting married to
- 7:16somebody who is 2021, and they're telling you, OK, let us
- 7:20date. And anyway, the long and short
- 7:23story is that the cause of the marriage breakup is money
- 7:28because Israel was accusing the parents and Sheila of saying
- 7:33that you should bring their. OK, so the wedding that they had
- 7:38the people spread their money, you know, bundles of money and
- 7:43then Sheila wanted to know what the money was used for.
- 7:47The parents wanted their own. She according to Israel, the
- 7:51parents wanted share of that money.
- 7:53But Israel was like he had to use the money to settle because
- 7:56he was in a very lavish wedding that Davido attended the
- 8:00wedding. They we do have to cancel a
- 8:03$140,000 show to attend the wedding and he had to charter
- 8:08private jets of about $30,000. So Israel was just calling
- 8:12money, money, money, money, money.
- 8:14But one thing that he said that Sheila said was that he was
- 8:20being a slave to Davido, that he should start something for
- 8:24himself. He shouldn't just rely on
- 8:27begging Davido for money, that he could do something for
- 8:30himself. He could start something, you
- 8:32know, start a business just to get busy instead of always
- 8:36begging his boss. Then we do for money.
- 8:39That did not sit well with Israel because no man would be
- 8:44happy. When you call them, you slave,
- 8:47whether to their boss or to anything.
- 8:50Israel was not happy. I think that was the genesis of
- 8:54the breakdown of their marriage. And I think according to Sheila,
- 8:58it happened in November. So you look at this whole thing,
- 9:02the Internet, the everybody is divided because we have some
- 9:05people supporting Sheila, we have some people supporting
- 9:07Israel, we have some people supporting the video.
- 9:10Like the whole thing is just everybody giving their own
- 9:13opinion. And I'm like, listen, I'm going
- 9:15to give my own opinion on this because this is a as a result of
- 9:19P2, people who got married without discussing finances.
- 9:25You know, I always say this finances is is, is that about
- 9:28you getting money or that that person, how do you want to spend
- 9:33your money? How does your partner see you?
- 9:36Because at this point, Israel got married to somebody who is
- 9:4020 years younger than himself. So obviously he would think
- 9:43that's what he's going to be making all the decisions he's
- 9:46going to be. She will just sit down there
- 9:47like a trophy wife do nothing. And but you got married to
- 9:52somebody who was, according to her, she was a beauty queen.
- 9:56She had endorsement deal. She was already working, making
- 9:59our own money. Israel said no, that she was
- 10:03broke, that he bought her the first iPhone she used.
- 10:07He bought her human hair. He he was just listing.
- 10:11I just sat down and like these people did not have a
- 10:14conversation before this marriage.
- 10:17They did not talk about money. They did not talk about
- 10:19finances. They did not even discuss how
- 10:22the home is going to be run, even children, because according
- 10:26to Sheila, Israel was accusing her of taking pills to not get
- 10:31pregnant. And she was like she had
- 10:34hormonal imbalance. She was supposed to the
- 10:36hospital. They said she had the high level
- 10:39of prolactin and that was making her not to get pregnant.
- 10:43But Israel was insisting that, you know, she it was just
- 10:47ridiculous, the whole reason why the marriage was ending.
- 10:52But you look at this whole thing, Israel, although he's 41,
- 10:57I think he's not. Maturity is not about age.
- 11:01You can create a Mumu brand and that will be your brand, but
- 11:05don't let that get into your private life.
- 11:09But most times what we see on camera, especially these
- 11:11comedians, what you see is what you get.
- 11:14We are just realising that we with Mr Ibu, you know John
- 11:18Okafor, who was always acting, you know, I don't even know how
- 11:22to call it, but that was actually John Okafor.
- 11:26Yes, he was interpreting his script, but the way he was
- 11:29interpreting it was based on his character.
- 11:33Thus we can see. So Israel and Apple are
- 11:36defending Israel. Saying that ohh, why would
- 11:39Sheila want to change Israel now?
- 11:42Why? Why would you get married to
- 11:43somebody and not want that person to influence you in any
- 11:48way? That does not make sense.
- 11:51But I think that conversation should have happened before that
- 11:54marriage, which is you. Sit down.
- 11:57OK, You're engaged. Sit down with your partner.
- 12:00Discuss how how are we going to spend this money?
- 12:03How are we going to raise our children?
- 12:05What? What is your 510 years goal?
- 12:09What? What would you like me to do?
- 12:10Would you like me to be a housewife?
- 12:12Are you comfortable for me to do this?
- 12:14Do that. Because Israel was complaining
- 12:16that he doesn't want her to work.
- 12:18He would never open a business for her.
- 12:20He would. Israel got married to a virgin,
- 12:25but he was calling the friend a show.
- 12:28So I was like, yes, and you are wife was a virgin but you will
- 12:33never allow her to go out. Is it now that she's married to
- 12:37you that she will now want to go out and start doing things,
- 12:40things that she did not do when she was single before you marry
- 12:43anybody? It might be a very difficult
- 12:45conversation, yes, that has ended a whole lot of engagements
- 12:50relationship, but it is better to end it at that point than to
- 12:56get married. Thank God kids are not even
- 12:58involved with this whole Israel thing.
- 13:00But it is better to end it at that point and to get married to
- 13:03somebody and then families are involved and then the whole
- 13:07drama is just is online now on social media.
- 13:10If they had a broken engagement, I don't think it would be as
- 13:13serious as this because Israel spent a whole lot of money
- 13:17because according to Sheila, she was not carried along.
- 13:20At some point she was asking Israel if if he was getting
- 13:23married to his wedding planner. I think Israel just had a very
- 13:28like, OK, I want to be celebrated.
- 13:30My orgasm should come to my wedding.
- 13:32Like, if the video comes to your wedding, I don't think Israel
- 13:36was planning the marriage. Israel planned the wedding to
- 13:41the tea and it was his success. But then in the marriage, I
- 13:45don't think any of them sat. I can't even blame her.
- 13:48She's 21 years old, you understand.
- 13:51So if a 41 years old man is getting married, I think at that
- 13:57point he should have realise that OK this and I am getting
- 14:02married to somebody who who has not even experience, who has not
- 14:05dated, but that person have an idea of what relationship is
- 14:11based on let's say their appearance.
- 14:13That was why the parents are very influential in that
- 14:16relationship or influential to her as a person because she has
- 14:21not dated the only example of a relationship that she knows is
- 14:26apparent. So she's always going to go back
- 14:27to her parents. If let's say she has dated 123
- 14:30people then she would have seen OK this is how people are
- 14:34different. Where we approach this person
- 14:36will be different from the way our approach this other person.
- 14:39But that experience she did not have, so she had to rely on her
- 14:43appearance. And now Israel is trying to sue
- 14:45the parents saying that the parents were had a problem.
- 14:52Listen, hey, anybody that bring their mathon social media will
- 14:57sit down and talk to everyone of us will have our own family
- 15:00drama. But the person that brings it to
- 15:03social media is the one that will sit down and talk.
- 15:06This is very common in the whole lot of relationship, in a whole
- 15:10lot of marriages, in a whole lot of family.
- 15:13Because people don't sit down and because they will tell you
- 15:18ohh if you sit down and talk he may leave me or you may not be
- 15:22happy with me or he may pick somebody else.
- 15:25Why don't you have that conversation so that he can go
- 15:28and pick the person that suits what he wants.
- 15:31Now Israel is saying that oh Sheila deceived him.
- 15:35Sheila did this. He was busy causing Sheila
- 15:37online reigning courses on him. Just because Sheila said don't
- 15:41be a slave to Davido. Get something doing for
- 15:44yourself. Do something else.
- 15:48Ohh hmm. I understand Sheila completely.
- 15:52I understand exactly the position she is.
- 15:56I used to read this guy who, you know, he was OK, he was renting
- 16:01but not, you know, in the UK you see a whole lot of younger
- 16:03people renting, you know, a house and then sharing with
- 16:08other people. But he was not rent sharing with
- 16:11anybody. He was driving.
- 16:12He has a job. So I was thinking, OK, this is a
- 16:15starting point because he wanted something serious.
- 16:18So I was thinking, OK, this is a starting point we can build with
- 16:22this because as a human being I also have my expectation.
- 16:26I also have what I want out of the relationship.
- 16:29I also want to know what I want to do with my life in the next
- 16:335-10 years. So I was thinking, OK, I can
- 16:37build with this person. We can start from somewhere.
- 16:40Lo and behold, when we started talking seriously, I sat down,
- 16:45was like, OK, we need to talk about finances, you know, where
- 16:49are you at? We are finances.
- 16:52What is happening? I realised that he was living
- 16:57paycheck to paycheck just to maintain, you know, everything
- 17:01that you're thinking is OK. It was actually just
- 17:06smokescreen. He was taking credit card to do
- 17:10all these things and I was thinking, why are you doing all
- 17:13these things? And this person was working
- 17:15almost seven days a week so that they could meet up.
- 17:18Even with the the, the, the seven days a week was still a
- 17:21challenge. You know, let's go out for
- 17:24dinner. That's a problem because they
- 17:26have to plan, let's say two months in advance to even fit
- 17:29that budget in going. So I was like thinking, listen,
- 17:36OK let's crazy plan. If this is actually going to
- 17:39work, why don't you cut down, somebody can move in with you to
- 17:43share the bills, give up your car, you know, you can always
- 17:48buy later. But right now you're trying to
- 17:50sort out these finances. You're trying, we're trying.
- 17:53Let's sort this out first, they said.
- 17:58He looked at me and said, why am I being manipulative?
- 18:03I say manipulative. I was so, I was so shocked.
- 18:08I was surprised. But it was very important that
- 18:12we had that conversation at that time because he showed me that
- 18:16this relationship is not going anywhere.
- 18:18That was the end of that relationship.
- 18:20You know, this is somebody I was thinking, OK, advice.
- 18:26Just like Sheila. Yeah.
- 18:28She said he's a slave, Not necessarily a slave, but I
- 18:32understand what she was trying to tell him.
- 18:34Like if anything happens to Davido now, today, you are
- 18:38jobless and you are coverless because you always for you to
- 18:42have extra money, you have to go and beg your boss.
- 18:45You have to rely on handouts. You are literally a slave to
- 18:48him. I understand what she was trying
- 18:50to say. Or because of that word, slave.
- 18:53I think it was too harsh. You know, you called me a slave.
- 18:57You know, you kind of rubbed on his ego, but that was the fact.
- 19:03So I understand what Sheila was trying to do for her husband,
- 19:07but he did not get it. In the next let's say 10-15
- 19:12years he will learn the he would appreciate the fact that Sheila
- 19:17actually told him this. And I I am happy that people
- 19:20actually talking to him because a whole lot of men are also
- 19:26coming out to support Sheila, to say that Sheila is only advising
- 19:30you to get do something else or do something by the side, start
- 19:35a business, start selling socks, start selling cufflinks, start
- 19:39selling cap. Just you don't have to brand,
- 19:43rebrand or anything. You can partner with somebody
- 19:46that is not in Nigeria and do something, OK?
- 19:49If you're if you don't want a warehouse in Nigeria, you can
- 19:52always do something. Davido has fans all over the
- 19:55world. If he pulls down his page,
- 19:58that's it. People will start patronising
- 20:01you. You are not just getting money
- 20:03as you know there were those dissemble, you're also getting
- 20:06money. Your wife, she can manage that.
- 20:10But Israel was saying that he will never open a business for
- 20:13the wife. While I only finish you before
- 20:17you get married, sit down, talk about finances.
- 20:21Sit down, talk about how monies are going to be spent.
- 20:24Sit down, talk about is this going to be a partnership or is
- 20:28it going to be do your own and do my own.
- 20:31That has to be understood before getting into so that you align.
- 20:35Financial alignment is very important, very, very necessary.
- 20:40You can want a virgin, you can want somebody who is working.
- 20:43But how those monies are spent and how you improve on your
- 20:51family income, you have to align that.
- 20:55And if you don't align on that, you will come online and be
- 20:58stressing us with the information and details of your
- 21:02marriage. Break up.
- 21:04Anyway, I wish Israel and Sheila all the best.
- 21:07I hope they could sit down and actually talk about this because
- 21:11I don't think any of them is wrong.
- 21:12Israel has every right to be angry that the wife called him
- 21:15his slave. The wife also have every right
- 21:18to tell her husband this is not working.
- 21:21This is how we can improve our lives.
- 21:23And if the two of them, they cannot come back together and
- 21:28resolve their issue. We wish them all the best in
- 21:30their separate endeavours. Thank you very much for in
- 21:34today's episode, please like, like, like and share.
- 21:36Thank you very much. Bye, bye.
