- 0:00It is a characteristic trait of the human ego personality that
- 0:05we easily see faults and issues in others and in external
- 0:09circumstances that we fail to see within ourselves.
- 0:14But how do we recognize something outside if we have no
- 0:19way to relate to it? If we do not produce the
- 0:23vibrational pattern within ourselves and interpret it, all
- 0:28of our activities, political, economic, humanitarian,
- 0:33technical, supportive, are essentially meant to comfort or
- 0:38help in various ways in the external life and mitigate
- 0:42suffering to some degree. They are more or less like
- 0:46bandages applied over a wound. They do not generally go to the
- 0:51root of the issue nor provide solutions to eliminate the
- 0:55suffering or the cause of the suffering.
- 0:59The key to getting at the actual underlying issue is the internal
- 1:03awareness of the force that creates these situations as they
- 1:07impact the individual being and set up a vibrational pattern
- 1:11internally. As the seeker becomes aware of
- 1:15these things inwardly, he can begin to act upon them, not in
- 1:19others, but in himself. As he succeeds in changing the
- 1:24impact of these vibrations and gaining mastery over them so
- 1:28that they cannot transmit further through him, he also
- 1:32gains the power at that moment to communicate that capacity to
- 1:37others, not necessarily through outward means, but through his
- 1:43vibrational control. He may be the first monkey in
- 1:48the story of the 100th monkey, or somewhere in between, or the
- 1:53100th monkey, so to speak, that creates the vibrational pattern
- 1:58then available to all humanity. This is the way to solve the
- 2:03issue and help others, which goes far beyond all our external
- 2:08solutions. This is not to say that one
- 2:12should disregard the need for the bandage from time to time
- 2:15along the way. Those who are called to provide
- 2:19humanitarian assistance or develop some external means to
- 2:23help along the way should certainly not be discouraged.
- 2:27Yet the true solution will be found within through a change of
- 2:32consciousness, the mother observes.
- 2:35Quote each one. This totality of substance
- 2:41constituting your inner and outer body, the totality of
- 2:45substance with which your being is built, from the outermost to
- 2:48the innermost, is a field of work.
- 2:52It is as though one had gathered together carefully, accumulated
- 2:56a certain number of vibrations, and put them at your disposal
- 3:00for you to work upon them fully. It is like a field of action,
- 3:05constantly at your disposal, night and day, waking or asleep
- 3:11all the time. Nobody can take it away from
- 3:14you. It is wonderful.
- 3:17You may refuse to use it, as most men do, but it is a mass to
- 3:22be transformed that is there in your hands, fully at your
- 3:26disposal, given to you for you to learn to work upon it.
- 3:31So the most important thing is to begin by doing that.
- 3:36You can do nothing with others unless you are able to do it
- 3:39with yourself. You can never give a good advice
- 3:43to anyone unless you are able to give it to yourself 1st and to
- 3:47follow it. And if you see a difficulty
- 3:50somewhere, the best way of changing this difficulty is to
- 3:54change it in yourself first. If you see a defect in anyone,
- 3:59you may be sure it is in you, and you begin to change it in
- 4:04yourself. And when you will have changed
- 4:07it in yourself, you will be strong enough to change it in
- 4:10others. And this is a wonderful thing.
- 4:14People don't realize what an infinite grace it is that this
- 4:17universe is arranged in such a way that there is a collection
- 4:22of substance, from the most material to the highest
- 4:26spiritual, all that gathered together into what is called a
- 4:31small individual, but at the disposal of a central will.
- 4:37And that is yours, your field of work.
- 4:40Nobody can take it away from you.
- 4:42It is your own property, and to the extent you can work upon it,
- 4:48you will be able to have an action upon the world, but only
- 4:52to that extent. One must do more for oneself
- 4:56besides than one does for others.
