Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: He's praising God your early body praise party. I am
- 0:03Speaker 1: a Sherry Mackie and his time for today's word Expectancy
- 0:09Speaker 1: in the Waiting Season, MM. Expectancy in the Waiting Season
- 0:17Speaker 1: Psalms forty and one says I waited patiently and expectantly
- 0:22Speaker 1: for the Lord, and he inclined to me and heard
- 0:25Speaker 1: my crime. Oh that makes me think about Sharon Brown.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I love me some of you, Sharon Brown. You know,
- 0:31Speaker 1: waiting is one of the most challenging seasons we face
- 0:34Speaker 1: in life. It can feel slow, It can feel uncertain
- 0:38Speaker 1: and sometimes even discouraging, especially when you know God has
- 0:43Speaker 1: placed something big in your heart but you don't see
- 0:46Speaker 1: any signs of it happening. See that's where David found himself.
- 0:50Speaker 1: He had already been anointed in his spirit for greatness.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Deep down, he knew God had a calling on his life,
- 0:57Speaker 1: yet his daily reality didn't reflect that promise. Instead of
- 1:01Speaker 1: leading armies or sitting in the palace, David was out
- 1:04Speaker 1: in the field tend and the sheep overlooked, unnoticed and
- 1:08Speaker 1: seemingly far from his destiny. It would have been easy
- 1:13Speaker 1: for him to grow frustrated, easy to question God, easy
- 1:16Speaker 1: to lose heart and think, when is my time coming?
- 1:19Speaker 1: But David understood something powerful. Waiting is not wasted when
- 1:24Speaker 1: it's filled with expectancy. He didn't just wait, He waited expectantly.
- 1:29Speaker 1: That means he believed something was happening, even when he
- 1:32Speaker 1: couldn't see it. He trusted that God was working behind
- 1:35Speaker 1: the scenes, aligning the right moments, the right people, the
- 1:38Speaker 1: right opportunities. While he waited. David chose to praise the
- 1:42Speaker 1: Lord when nothing was changing. He praised when he felt overlooked.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Guess what he did. He praised when promises seemed so
- 1:51Speaker 1: far away. You know what he did. He praised. He
- 1:55Speaker 1: made a decision. I am confident that I will see
- 1:58Speaker 1: the goodness of the Lord in the land of the Living. See.
- 2:00Speaker 1: That kind of faith kept his heart strong during the
- 2:03Speaker 1: waiting season. What David didn't know was that at that
- 2:07Speaker 1: very moment he was faithfully tending to sheep, Samuel was
- 2:10Speaker 1: on the way to his house with a horn of oil.
- 2:13Speaker 1: God had already set things in motion, the opportunity, the promotion,
- 2:17Speaker 1: the moment of elevation. It was closer than David realized.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And the same is true for you and me. If
- 2:25Speaker 1: you feel stuck, if you feel overlooked. If you feel
- 2:29Speaker 1: like nothing is changing, it doesn't mean God has forgotten you.
- 2:32Speaker 1: It doesn't mean your dream isn't going to happen. It
- 2:36Speaker 1: may simply mean that God is preparing something behind the
- 2:40Speaker 1: scenes that you can't see right now. Your waiting season
- 2:44Speaker 1: is not empty, it's full of purpose. God is developing
- 2:47Speaker 1: your character, strengthening your faith, and preparing you for what's ahead.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And at the right time, he will cause everything to
- 2:55Speaker 1: come together in a way only he can. So don't
- 2:59Speaker 1: wait in front. Wait with expectancy, keep believing, keep praising,
- 3:03Speaker 1: keep trusting, because God is already on the way with
- 3:08Speaker 1: what you need. Come on, Jesus, Father, thank you that
- 3:11Speaker 1: even in seasons of waiting, you're still working on our behalf.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Help us to wait with faith, expectancy, and trust, knowing
- 3:18Speaker 1: that you're preparing something greater than we can see. Strengthen
- 3:21Speaker 1: our hearts God, so that we will not grow discourage,
- 3:25Speaker 1: but we will continue to praise you at every season.
- 3:28Speaker 1: We believe that at the right time, you will bring
- 3:30Speaker 1: it to pass. In Jesus' name, that's your word for today.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Take it apply to your everyday life, and you continue
- 3:38Speaker 1: to be encouraged and inspired. It's your early morning praise party.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie
