- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, everybody.
- 0:00Speaker 2: It's Phil Henry with another Radio Archive Hour from the
- 0:03Speaker 2: Radio Hall of Fame Phil Henry Show and philhenryshow.com. This
- 0:06Speaker 2: is from May of 2000, and this is Art Griego.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Art Griego, a private pilot. You know Art and the
- 0:13Speaker 2: guy that we got to know as he was commercially
- 0:15Speaker 2: flying people around. Now he just flies around for pleasure.
- 0:17Speaker 2: He hangs out at the Santa Monica Airport. But at
- 0:20Speaker 2: this particular time in his career, quote-unquote, I don't mean
- 0:23Speaker 2: to put you down, Art. You're a good guy, except
- 0:25Speaker 2: you're a little weird. He joined the program... from a
- 0:27Speaker 2: communication site in Los Alamos, okay? Los Alamos, New Mexico,
- 0:31Speaker 2: to explain why he believes that the circumstances of a fire,
- 0:35Speaker 2: and there was a fire there near the Los Alamos
- 0:37Speaker 2: testing lab, are extremely suspicious. Now, he doesn't know why
- 0:41Speaker 2: there's none of those yellow fireman hats. He doesn't know
- 0:44Speaker 2: why there's no Dalmatians. He doesn't know why there's no
- 0:47Speaker 2: fire axes. In other words, what he thinks is suspicious
- 0:50Speaker 2: is that these guys don't look like they come out
- 0:51Speaker 2: of a TV show. Also, tacked on to the end
- 0:54Speaker 2: is a great Ted Bell flashback.
- 0:57Speaker 1: So let's listen. Art Griego. Right now, Art Griego is
- 1:00Speaker 1: down in Mike Schaefer.
- 1:02Speaker 3: My producer is telling me that Art Griego is just
- 1:05Speaker 3: outside of Los Alamos, New Mexico right now. We wanted
- 1:07Speaker 3: to talk to him, find out where are you right now, Art,
- 1:11Speaker 3: if you can tell us, give us some idea as
- 1:14Speaker 3: to where you are at this time.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I'm near Los Alamos, probably about five, six miles away
- 1:21Speaker 4: from the city center. And I'm I'm doing the very
- 1:24Speaker 4: best I can to monitor the situation.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Where are you?
- 1:28Speaker 4: I'm in a control center. We have a communications center
- 1:31Speaker 4: set up here. And right now I'm just trying to
- 1:34Speaker 4: get the information out to as many people as I can.
- 1:37Speaker 4: It's amazing because I have flown over the area, Phil.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Let me give people some information. You're a pilot, right?
- 1:44Speaker 4: I do fly as a pilot. And I have worked
- 1:47Speaker 4: as a fire maintenance specialist.
- 1:49Speaker 1: A fire maintenance specialist?
- 1:51Speaker 4: That's correct.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So you.
- 1:53Speaker 3: can take a look at how people are fighting a fire,
- 1:56Speaker 3: you know whether they're doing it well?
- 1:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you generally review the area and find out if
- 2:01Speaker 4: they're fighting the fire good or not. I have flown
- 2:04Speaker 4: over the area, and there isn't much security. There isn't
- 2:08Speaker 4: as much security surrounding the Los Alamos lab, Phil, and
- 2:11Speaker 4: really that's what we're talking about. Los Alamos has the
- 2:14Speaker 4: largest munitions and testing facility in the world, and the
- 2:19Speaker 4: threat of terrorism in the area... And in this modern age,
- 2:24Speaker 4: it's very real. I would assume that they have looked
- 2:27Speaker 4: into the cause of this fire, and it's possible that
- 2:33Speaker 4: you need to look at that. There's a lot of things.
- 2:36Speaker 1: What are you saying? I thought the fire was started by.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Well, they're saying that right now, Phil, but you need
- 2:41Speaker 4: to understand that Los Alamos... And if you hold on
- 2:44Speaker 4: for a minute, Phil.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I'm sorry?
- 2:45Speaker 5: Hold on for just a minute.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Okay, I'm talking with a variety of people in the
- 2:52Speaker 4: area who are giving me input.
- 2:57Speaker 3: You're talking to me about the Los Alamos lab. Everybody's
- 3:00Speaker 3: familiar with Los Alamos. The fact that nuclear munitions testing
- 3:04Speaker 3: is done there. The Alamogordo blast originated it. The scientists
- 3:08Speaker 3: were at Los Alamos. So we know that.
- 3:11Speaker 1: But The fire was supposedly started by the Forestry Service.
- 3:14Speaker 4: And I don't doubt that. I'm saying that right now
- 3:17Speaker 4: the Los Alamos Munitions Lab is compromised. And there are
- 3:21Speaker 4: a lot of, I think, a lot of questions surrounding
- 3:24Speaker 4: how well they're going to protect this area. And was
- 3:28Speaker 4: this fire an accident, or was this something that is
- 3:33Speaker 4: a little bit more than an accident? I think we
- 3:34Speaker 4: have to look into that. All right.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Art Griego is there in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where
- 3:39Speaker 3: there is fire right now raging. Can you give us
- 3:43Speaker 3: the extent of the damage right now, Art?
- 3:47Speaker 4: I'm sorry, Phil?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Can you give us the extent?
- 3:48Speaker 4: I'm monitoring two radios right now, and I also have
- 3:52Speaker 4: a phone call into Bob Shefferton. You know Bob.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yes, I do.
- 3:57Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I'm having to wait for my phone. My
- 3:59Speaker 4: cell phone's going, too. There's a lot of stuff going
- 4:01Speaker 4: on here. All right.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Give me the extent of the damage there.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Well, right now, Phil, we've had probably... Could you.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Turn your radio down, too?
- 4:13Speaker 6: Turn the radio down?
- 4:16Speaker 4: Yeah. 7,000 homes. Population about 7,000. 15,000, Phil.
- 4:22Speaker 1: 15,000 what?
- 4:24Speaker 4: That's what we're saying right now, but I don't have
- 4:27Speaker 4: an idea as to when we're going to be over there.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Art, are you talking to me or.
- 4:31Speaker 7: Hold on.
- 4:35Speaker 4: I'm awfully sorry, Phil. We've got a lot of stuff
- 4:41Speaker 4: going on. 18,000 people have been evacuated, 4,500 acres have burned,
- 4:46Speaker 4: and we've got 100 homes right now that have burned.
- 4:50Speaker 1: What do you suspect here? Spit it out. You're saying.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I am telling you, Phil, that I suspect it's possible
- 4:58Speaker 4: that terrorists would want to go after the Los Alamos lab.
- 5:01Speaker 4: And I'm doing everything that I can, and I know
- 5:03Speaker 4: that you know Bob Shepard and along with, of course,
- 5:07Speaker 4: Lindy Nelson and all the other guys over there who
- 5:09Speaker 4: worked with me at the lab. We're all doing the
- 5:12Speaker 4: best we can to try to protect our country.
- 5:15Speaker 3: What makes you suspicious that this might not have been
- 5:18Speaker 3: started by the Forest Reserve?
- 5:19Speaker 1: Are they fighting the fire?
- 5:21Speaker 4: I don't know. Standard practice calls. Right now, Phil, I'm
- 5:24Speaker 4: seeing a lot of choppers. I flew over the area.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I see a lot of choppers dropping what they tell
- 5:30Speaker 4: me is water. Now, I happen to know that you
- 5:34Speaker 4: fight forest fires from fixed-wing airplanes, dropping water from a
- 5:40Speaker 4: fixed-wing airplane, not helicopters. And I'm seeing a lot of helicopters.
- 5:46Speaker 4: You would expect to see more firefighting equipment with Dalmatians
- 5:52Speaker 4: sitting up near where the guy drives it. Water puts
- 5:56Speaker 4: fire out, Phil, and if the choppers are dropping water,
- 6:01Speaker 4: and also the helicopters, of course, but if the choppers are,
- 6:04Speaker 4: why is the fire still going? Okay.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Say that again.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I'm telling you, water puts out fires, right? Yes. All right.
- 6:12Speaker 4: If these choppers have been dropping water, why is the
- 6:15Speaker 4: fire still going? That's number one. Number two, fixed-wing aircraft.
- 6:20Speaker 4: I don't see them. Number three. I don't see any
- 6:23Speaker 4: fire trucks with Dalmatians generally at a fire, and certainly
- 6:28Speaker 4: when you're talking about a fire that threatens the number
- 6:31Speaker 4: one munitions lab and testing facility in the world, you
- 6:34Speaker 4: would expect to see at least one fire truck with
- 6:37Speaker 4: a Dalmatian and a guy in a yellow hat. None
- 6:40Speaker 4: of that is happening right now. And hold on for
- 6:43Speaker 4: a minute, Phil.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Okay, we're talking with Art Griego. He's at Los Alamos
- 6:48Speaker 3: just outside of the city at a communications facility that
- 6:51Speaker 3: is set up for him there. Our number is 1-800-449-8686.
- 6:56Speaker 3: As he's talking and speculating with us here, and you
- 6:58Speaker 3: can hear what he is up against there in the
- 7:00Speaker 3: communications lab. The fact that this fire is around a very.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Many of you may not be aware.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Of the fact that this Los Alamos fire is around
- 7:10Speaker 3: a highly sensitive area, the Los Alamos testing facilities.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And munitions labs.
- 7:17Speaker 3: During World War II, this was the primary site where
- 7:21Speaker 3: American scientists worked to develop the atomic bomb. And ever
- 7:25Speaker 3: since then, it has been a highly secured area and
- 7:28Speaker 3: certainly one that is pivotal to the defense of our country.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Now we have a fire raging, and Art, you do suspect,
- 7:35Speaker 3: you're saying not that there is terrorism, you're suspecting what?
- 7:39Speaker 4: I'm suspecting, Phil, that terrorists could take advantage of this,
- 7:42Speaker 4: and could certainly, and why don't I see, you'd expect
- 7:47Speaker 4: to see, and the fire's been going on for a week.
- 7:50Speaker 4: That's the other thing.
- 7:51Speaker 1: What about that?
- 7:54Speaker 4: You generally are going to be able to put a
- 7:55Speaker 4: fire out. It won't take you a week to put
- 7:58Speaker 4: a fire on. You generally see firefighters, Phil, wearing yellow
- 8:02Speaker 4: hats and carrying axes. I don't see that. If you
- 8:05Speaker 4: recall the film Backdraft with Robert De Niro, he wore
- 8:09Speaker 4: a yellow hat. Also, very close we are to Roswell,
- 8:13Speaker 4: New Mexico. And I don't need to tell you what
- 8:16Speaker 4: that represents.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Now, Roswell is the area where aliens were supposedly discovered.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Are you suspecting some national security situation?
- 8:24Speaker 4: I can tell you that... In my experience, you don't
- 8:28Speaker 4: have this many coincidences. You've got the Los Alamos Munitions
- 8:33Speaker 4: Lab being threatened. You have the Roswell, New Mexico tie-in.
- 8:38Speaker 4: There are no Dalmatians on the fire trucks. And I'm
- 8:43Speaker 4: not getting any information. I can't get any information from anybody.
- 8:48Speaker 4: And it's starting to really tighten my jaws. And it
- 8:51Speaker 4: makes me wonder.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Who have you contacted?
- 8:53Speaker 4: I contacted Bob Shepperton. You know Bob. He usually tells
- 8:57Speaker 4: me everything. He won't tell me a thing. I've talked
- 9:00Speaker 4: to Betty Ambers. I've talked to the guys over at
- 9:03Speaker 4: the Volunteer Fire District. All of them are very tight-lipped
- 9:06Speaker 4: about this. And, again, the other thing, Phil, is I
- 9:11Speaker 4: worry about civilian property. Hello, we've got the Los Alamos lab.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Well, they have evacuated the people.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Yeah, they've evacuated people. But why? I even called Art Bell,
- 9:25Speaker 4: and I found out his show's off the air. What's
- 9:27Speaker 4: that all about? So you've got a lot of... Right now,
- 9:31Speaker 4: Art probably.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Doesn't want to be bothered with that. Let me go
- 9:32Speaker 3: to a phone call. Gainesville, Florida, you're on the Phil
- 9:35Speaker 3: Henry Show.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Hello. Hi. Yes, ma'am.
- 9:38Speaker 8: I was just calling in reference to the gentleman on.
- 9:40Speaker 5: The line who's out at Los Alamos.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Yes, ma'am.
- 9:43Speaker 8: And his fear was that... One, they may not really
- 9:47Speaker 8: be attempting to put the fire out because they're dropping
- 9:50Speaker 8: what appears, as he says, water from helicopters, and that
- 9:53Speaker 8: isn't what he thinks they should be doing.
- 9:55Speaker 4: I live in Florida.
- 9:57Speaker 8: We have really, really bad forest fires out here.
- 9:59Speaker 4: But you use water to put fires out, and if
- 10:02Speaker 4: they're using water, why isn't the fire out?
- 10:04Speaker 8: Because it does not go out that quickly, sir. It
- 10:07Speaker 8: took weeks and weeks for them to get the fire out.
- 10:09Speaker 8: Here with fire, if you've ever had fire in a
- 10:12Speaker 8: fire pit in your backyard, it can take hours and
- 10:15Speaker 8: hours and sometimes days to get that fire out using
- 10:18Speaker 8: tons and tons of water.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Let me ask the lady a question.
- 10:20Speaker 8: It is not an easily solved solution.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Why have they evacuated the city? They evacuated... These are
- 10:27Speaker 4: people that can help put the fire out. They can
- 10:29Speaker 4: help put the fire out.
- 10:30Speaker 8: No, they can't.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Well, ma'am, in frontier times... They can't be worried about
- 10:34Speaker 4: the people.
- 10:34Speaker 8: They have to be worried about the fire. In Florida,
- 10:36Speaker 8: they evacuated the entire county of Flagler County.
- 10:39Speaker 4: I can tell you that they used to have a
- 10:41Speaker 4: thing called a bucket brigade, Phil. You can get people
- 10:44Speaker 4: down on the fire line. A 4-year-old child can carry
- 10:46Speaker 4: a bucket. A 10-year-old can carry a hose.
- 10:49Speaker 8: Maybe in the 1930s that's what they did, but they
- 10:50Speaker 8: don't do that now.
- 10:51Speaker 4: I'm worried about it in the Dalmatian question.
- 10:54Speaker 1: And the Dalmatian question?
- 10:55Speaker 4: Yes.
- 10:55Speaker 1: All right, ma'am, thank you for your call. 1-800-4... Would
- 10:58Speaker 1: you turn him off? It's really.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Phil, why don't you say something?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Thank you. I mean, that is wild.
- 11:05Speaker 3: We have on the line with us from Los Alamos
- 11:07Speaker 3: Art Griego, who is at a communications site. He thinks
- 11:11Speaker 3: this fire near the Los Alamos testing lab is suspicious.
- 11:14Speaker 3: He feels that it is a highly secure area, obviously.
- 11:17Speaker 3: What's there a fire doing around Los Alamos? Why is
- 11:19Speaker 3: it so close to Roswell, New Mexico? And if indeed
- 11:22Speaker 3: they're trying to put the fire out, why are they
- 11:23Speaker 3: using helicopters instead of fixed-wing aircraft? And if water puts
- 11:27Speaker 3: out fire and they're dumping water on the fire, why
- 11:30Speaker 3: isn't the fire going out? He has also reported to us,
- 11:33Speaker 3: and I know, Mike, you were with him earlier, there
- 11:35Speaker 3: are no fire trucks with any Dalmatians and nobody wearing
- 11:39Speaker 3: yellow hats.
- 11:40Speaker 1: We're going to be talking with him further.
- 11:41Speaker 4: 1-800-449-8686.
- 11:42Speaker 1: The Phil Hendry Show.
- 11:50Speaker 7: 1-800-449-8686.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Phil Henry's show at a communications site in New Mexico
- 11:55Speaker 3: is Art Griego. He is a pilot as well as
- 11:59Speaker 3: a fire maintenance specialist talking about the Los Alamos fire.
- 12:02Speaker 3: So your suspicion right now is, A, that the fire
- 12:06Speaker 3: could have been started by terrorists.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Also, they've evacuated the town too quickly, right?
- 12:10Speaker 4: I believe so, Phil, because these are 18,000 people that
- 12:14Speaker 4: you evacuated, and they could be putting the fire out
- 12:17Speaker 4: right now. I am staying here in the Erasmo, New Mexico.
- 12:22Speaker 4: In 1948, it is possible that some craft from another
- 12:27Speaker 4: world landed here. Why now? Why a fire now? These
- 12:31Speaker 4: are questions that no one can answer for me. I'm
- 12:34Speaker 4: sure we all remember the bucket brigades from the 19th
- 12:37Speaker 4: century where the people would gather and put fires out.
- 12:41Speaker 4: And that has been something that has been going on.
- 12:45Speaker 4: How come nobody's doing that right now?
- 12:47Speaker 1: Nobody passing buckets?
- 12:48Speaker 4: No one. No one passing buckets or wearing overalls.
- 12:52Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Lake Elsinore on the Phil
- 12:54Speaker 1: Henry Show.
- 12:54Speaker 9: Hello.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Hello.
- 12:56Speaker 7: Yeah, this is Mike. I'm in Elsinore. You know, you've
- 12:59Speaker 7: got to put this guy on a bucket. Send him
- 13:01Speaker 7: right out there with the bucket right now.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Oh, what? I don't understand.
- 13:09Speaker 7: If you want a bucket brigade, why don't you take
- 13:10Speaker 7: a bucket right out there? Those firemen are fighting their
- 13:13Speaker 7: butts off right now.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Look it. Why is the fire not out? And what
- 13:17Speaker 4: about the questions that I've asked about this?
- 13:20Speaker 7: Fixed-wing aircraft?
- 13:21Speaker 4: Yeah. I'm in Southern California. I watch these.
- 13:24Speaker 7: Forest fires all the time, and I see them put
- 13:26Speaker 7: out with helicopters all the time. They carry buckets off
- 13:30Speaker 7: their rigging.
- 13:31Speaker 4: They drop into a lake. Have you been near a fire? Yes,
- 13:35Speaker 4: I have. Okay, where? In Santa Barbara.
- 13:38Speaker 7: You remember Wonderland, Michael Jackson's.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Resort, when it was about to burn down? I was there.
- 13:42Speaker 4: I'm talking about a forest fire, not some guy's cabana.
- 13:46Speaker 5: No, this was a forest on a hill.
- 13:47Speaker 4: I'm not worried about a guy's pool house, all right?
- 13:49Speaker 7: No, this was a forest.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Well, what is it you're saying? All I'm trying to
- 13:53Speaker 4: do is tell you that I don't see any firefighting equipment.
- 13:59Speaker 4: And I'm talking about Dalmatians and stuff like that. You're blind.
- 14:03Speaker 4: What about Dalmatians? You're blind. No Dalmatians?
- 14:07Speaker 7: That's a Budweiser commercial, buddy.
- 14:09Speaker 4: All right, pal. Another guy that doesn't know anything about
- 14:12Speaker 4: fighting fires, Phil.
- 14:13Speaker 1: All right, this Dalmatian thing's important, huh?
- 14:15Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 14:17Speaker 1: All right, 1-800-449-8686. Hollywood, Florida, on the Phil Henry Show.
- 14:21Speaker 9: Hello.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Phil, am I on?
- 14:24Speaker 9: Hello.
- 14:24Speaker 1: You're on the air, yes.
- 14:25Speaker 9: I'm on the air?
- 14:26Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 14:27Speaker 10: Okay, I'm talking to this gentleman who talks about a
- 14:29Speaker 10: Dalmatian being on a truck.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 14:31Speaker 10: Down in Hollywood, Florida, we have Doberman Pincers and Rottweilers.
- 14:35Speaker 10: These people steal fire equipment while the guys are fighting
- 14:38Speaker 10: a fire. So a Dalmatian is inconsequential about fighting a fire. Secondly,
- 14:43Speaker 10: they wear red helmets. So what's with the yellow helmet?
- 14:46Speaker 4: What about the Dalmatians?
- 14:48Speaker 10: What about the Dalmatians?
- 14:50Speaker 4: They make a great movie for kids. They're not on
- 14:52Speaker 4: any firefighting equipment that I'm looking at. Where? Right here
- 14:56Speaker 4: in Los Alamos.
- 14:57Speaker 10: In Los Alamos?
- 14:58Speaker 4: Yes.
- 14:59Speaker 10: Well, you know, when I was a kid and we
- 15:00Speaker 10: had fires.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Viejo on the Phil Henry Show.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Hello?
- 15:03Speaker 4: Who is this idiot? Listen, lady, I don't see it.
- 15:06Speaker 4: They're in the buckets, too, Phil. Out there.
- 15:09Speaker 1: You're on the air, ma'am. Go ahead. Yes.
- 15:11Speaker 8: Huh.
- 15:11Speaker 4: You know, this guy is sitting there giving.
- 15:13Speaker 5: Commentary on a fire.
- 15:15Speaker 7: Roger.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Roger.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Sorry. Well, why doesn't he get a bucket and get
- 15:18Speaker 4: a yellow.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Hat on and get some food for the Dalmatians?
- 15:20Speaker 4: What are you doing? What are you doing to help
- 15:22Speaker 4: our country?
- 15:24Speaker 5: You know what?
- 15:25Speaker 8: I volunteer my time.
- 15:27Speaker 4: You volunteer to what?
- 15:28Speaker 5: Well, I volunteer for sick people like you.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I can tell you that most of what
- 15:33Speaker 4: I'm doing right now is trying to keep you in
- 15:35Speaker 4: touch with the situation. It doesn't do any good.
- 15:38Speaker 9: You're there.
- 15:39Speaker 8: You're doing nothing but getting on the.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I'm telling you that we've got the national... when the
- 15:44Speaker 4: national security's threatened.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Well, maybe you ought to call the White House.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Lady, they don't want to take my phone call, okay?
- 15:52Speaker 4: I don't blame them. All I'm saying... What do you
- 15:54Speaker 4: know about fighting fires?
- 15:55Speaker 5: I was a fireman.
- 15:57Speaker 4: What do you know about fighting fires?
- 15:59Speaker 5: I was a fireman.
- 16:02Speaker 4: You were a fireman?
- 16:03Speaker 9: A firewoman.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Where was that?
- 16:06Speaker 5: In Los Angeles County.
- 16:08Speaker 4: You worked for L.A. County?
- 16:09Speaker 5: I did. All right.
- 16:12Speaker 4: What did you do? I fought fires.
- 16:14Speaker 5: What do you think I did?
- 16:15Speaker 4: They didn't hire any women.
- 16:17Speaker 5: You know what?
- 16:19Speaker 4: They didn't hire women at that time. And you're the authority, right? Yes,
- 16:23Speaker 4: I am. They were not hiring any women. Okay, so
- 16:28Speaker 4: I don't know what to tell you, baby. I'm here,
- 16:30Speaker 4: you're there. Go take a swim in the ocean. Roger.
- 16:35Speaker 5: I got a.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Okay, thanks for your call, ma'am.
- 16:39Speaker 10: 1-800-449-8686.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Fort Myers on the Phil Henry Show. Hello?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Fort Myers, hello.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Hi, how you doing?
- 16:51Speaker 5: Listen, my question is, if this guy that's out there
- 16:54Speaker 5: in Los Alamos isn't an alien himself, I mean.
- 16:57Speaker 4: I'm talking about trying to get the firefighting out here.
- 16:59Speaker 5: Brush fires all the time, and fighting one for a week,
- 17:02Speaker 5: two weeks, or three weeks isn't unusual.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Why can't they get the fire out?
- 17:08Speaker 5: That's not unusual.
- 17:09Speaker 4: For a forest fire. It's not like a... go out
- 17:11Speaker 4: there with a couple of fire trucks and put it out.
- 17:14Speaker 4: I mean, you're talking about a.
- 17:15Speaker 6: Very complicated issue.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Have you seen fire axes? You know what I mean
- 17:18Speaker 4: by a red hat? I live in an area where
- 17:21Speaker 4: we have brush fires. We have serious brush fires out here.
- 17:26Speaker 4: But you don't live in an area where there's a
- 17:28Speaker 4: munitions lab, and you don't live in an area where
- 17:30Speaker 4: there is a large testing facility.
- 17:33Speaker 6: Well, that's a definite cause for concern, but, you know,
- 17:37Speaker 6: firemen don't look like the firemen do on TV and Dalmatians.
- 17:41Speaker 6: I've never seen a Dalmatian on any fire equipment down here.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Well, I have.
- 17:44Speaker 6: That's kind of shaky stuff there.
- 17:46Speaker 4: I don't know, but I've seen them. Okay? And what
- 17:49Speaker 4: you're talking about is the need for firefighting equipment that
- 17:52Speaker 4: people can use right now. No bucket brigade. No.
- 17:57Speaker 5: That's not the way they fight fires these days. You
- 18:00Speaker 5: don't take the civilians out there.
- 18:02Speaker 4: And put their lives on the line.
- 18:04Speaker 3: We need to get a hand pump and a well.
- 18:07Speaker 1: 1-800-449-8686. Phil Henry Show.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Previously on the Phil Henry Show.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Los Angeles on the Phil Henry Show.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Hello?
- 18:16Speaker 10: Hi.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Yes, ma'am.
- 18:18Speaker 9: You know, Ted, I'm very curious, what restaurant is.
- 18:20Speaker 4: It that you own? Ted's in Beverly Hills.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Ted's in Beverly Hills, right.
- 18:24Speaker 7: Right.
- 18:24Speaker 9: And what makes you the authority on telling people how
- 18:27Speaker 9: to behave? and how to act rich when you, you know,
- 18:32Speaker 9: just came into new money.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Well, you know, you people who buy your lottery tickets, okay?
- 18:37Speaker 5: Don't refer to.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Me as you people. Well.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Okay, I have money. You don't need to talk to me.
- 18:41Speaker 4: You got money because you hit the pick six, right?
- 18:43Speaker 5: No, I have money because my family.
- 18:46Speaker 9: I'm 21. You're right. I have none of my own money.
- 18:48Speaker 4: I have money because my parents worked their butts off, Ted.
- 18:51Speaker 4: When did your dad hit.
- 18:52Speaker 6: Because they came.
- 18:53Speaker 9: From, yeah, the Midwest.
- 18:54Speaker 4: When did your father hit Powerball? I'm sorry? When did
- 18:57Speaker 4: your dad whip at Powerball? What year?
- 19:00Speaker 9: What is Power Bowl?
- 19:01Speaker 4: It's the lottery that your father entered in Nebraska.
- 19:03Speaker 9: See, my dad never won the lottery. He came from nothing,
- 19:06Speaker 9: and I have everything now.
- 19:08Speaker 4: You have everything.
- 19:09Speaker 9: Yeah, I go to USC. I drive a BMW. I'm
- 19:12Speaker 9: the luckiest girl.
- 19:13Speaker 8: I have everything I.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Could ever want. Then you and I understand each other.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Then you and I understand each other. No, no, don't.
- 19:18Speaker 4: You can't be a traitor.
- 19:18Speaker 9: Please don't put it on the same level, Ted. Like,
- 19:20Speaker 9: I really honestly feel I have a lot more maturity
- 19:23Speaker 9: and a lot more to offer than the... Don't you realize.
- 19:28Speaker 4: That you and I come from the same kind of money,
- 19:30Speaker 4: and these people are trying to usurp our position. They're
- 19:32Speaker 4: acting like fools in expensive restaurants. We can't have that.
- 19:36Speaker 4: You know what?
- 19:37Speaker 9: At first, I'll have to tell you, and I'll be
- 19:38Speaker 9: real honest with you. It was a problem for me
- 19:40Speaker 9: because I was like, ew, they haven't had money their
- 19:42Speaker 9: whole lives.
- 19:43Speaker 4: That's it. There you go.
- 19:44Speaker 9: How dare they walk in this restaurant and act like
- 19:46Speaker 9: an ass?
- 19:46Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying.
- 19:47Speaker 5: But then Ted, but then it's.
- 19:48Speaker 9: People like you who have money, who get on the
- 19:50Speaker 9: air and who say things like this, make us look
- 19:53Speaker 9: just as bad.
- 19:54Speaker 4: That is totally off. You know what? I think what
- 19:56Speaker 4: you're saying is totally off.
- 19:57Speaker 9: You're embarrassed. You're embarrassed by these people who have new money, Ted,
- 20:00Speaker 9: and if they're not good enough, it's the people.
- 20:02Speaker 4: You said the magic word there. When you said you
- 20:04Speaker 4: walked into a restaurant and you saw some of these
- 20:06Speaker 4: people come into the restaurant who were new money and
- 20:08Speaker 4: you went, ew. Ted, you know what? That is the
- 20:11Speaker 4: rallying cry of every rich man or woman in Beverly Hills.
- 20:13Speaker 4: That's our rallying cry. Ew. Ted, I go out in
- 20:16Speaker 4: Beverly Hills.
- 20:17Speaker 9: And I go out with the best of the best
- 20:18Speaker 9: as well, and I have a lot of friends in
- 20:20Speaker 9: that circle of friends.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Do you know some of the people that I know?
- 20:23Speaker 5: But, Ted, let me tell you something.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Do you know the people I know?
- 20:25Speaker 9: I don't know who you know, Ted.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Do you really want to play the name game?
- 20:28Speaker 9: Because that's not what your argument's about.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Do you want to know who I know? I don't, Ted. Honestly,
- 20:32Speaker 4: it's not.
- 20:33Speaker 5: Important to me.
- 20:34Speaker 9: But what I'm saying is.
- 20:34Speaker 4: I know people.
- 20:35Speaker 9: Ted, that's great.
- 20:37Speaker 5: I do too, but that's not important.
- 20:39Speaker 9: It's who you are and not who everybody else that
- 20:41Speaker 9: you know is.
- 20:41Speaker 4: All right, I'm going to take a roll of the
- 20:42Speaker 4: dice here. I'm going to roll the dice. I'm going
- 20:44Speaker 4: to take a chance. All right? You ready? Sure, Ted.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Do you want to meet for a drink?
- 20:50Speaker 9: I would love to meet you for a drink, Ted.
- 20:52Speaker 4: You would, wouldn't you?
- 20:54Speaker 9: I would love to meet you for a drink.
- 20:56Speaker 4: I'd like you to come to.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Just to see what a jackass you are.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Ted, I honestly am so embarrassed for you. She's interested
- 21:00Speaker 4: in me. She's interested in me.
- 21:02Speaker 5: Ted, I'm embarrassed for you.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Why are you interested?
- 21:04Speaker 9: Ted, you know why this conversation interests me? And I
- 21:07Speaker 9: have to tell you, I just started listening to KFI
- 21:09Speaker 9: like two months ago.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 21:10Speaker 9: And this has really intrigued me because you have repeatedly said,
- 21:15Speaker 9: you know, people like me and those people, those new
- 21:19Speaker 9: money people. Well, Ted, when did you come into money, Ted?
- 21:22Speaker 4: Let me tell you when I came into money. Back
- 21:24Speaker 4: when I was 17, my father, he put a cashier's
- 21:28Speaker 4: check in my account for $ 20 million, and he said,
- 21:30Speaker 4: I want you to do something with that. I'm worth
- 21:32Speaker 4: $ 25 million today.
- 21:34Speaker 9: Ted, we'll pin a rose on your nose.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Oh, so you made a big.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Your father gave you $ 20.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Million, right?
- 21:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:42Speaker 3: And now, 30 years later, you're worth $ 25 million.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Ted, my dad wouldn't.
- 21:47Speaker 9: Give it to me, Ted. He would show me what
- 21:49Speaker 9: the meaning of earning a dollar is.
- 21:50Speaker 4: I'd like you to come to Ted's of Beverly Hills.
- 21:53Speaker 4: I'd like you to come to Ted's of Beverly Hills.
- 21:56Speaker 4: I'll buy you a drink. We'll have a steak. Now,
- 21:59Speaker 4: I've got to tell you something, and because I'm wealthy,
- 22:01Speaker 4: I do require this of women that go out with me,
- 22:03Speaker 4: all right? You must have sex with me tonight, but
- 22:07Speaker 4: I want you to understand something. I mean that in
- 22:09Speaker 4: the most respectful way.
- 22:11Speaker 9: Ted, I don't understand how anything out of your mouth
- 22:15Speaker 9: has been respectful at all. And some women who have called.
- 22:18Speaker 4: In haven't really.
- 22:20Speaker 9: Been attacking you, but you've turned it into this argument.
- 22:23Speaker 4: No, that lady told me that she wished I died
- 22:24Speaker 4: in my electric bike.
- 22:25Speaker 5: How old are you, Ted?
- 22:26Speaker 4: How old are you? I'm 50 years old. Hold on.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Before you start saying, oh, it's too old for me,
- 22:30Speaker 4: I bring lumber. I didn't say I was too old
- 22:32Speaker 4: for me, Ted. I bring the lumber.
- 22:33Speaker 9: Are you in the same caliber as I am, Ted?
- 22:34Speaker 9: Can you keep up with me?
- 22:35Speaker 4: I'm Ted Bell.
- 22:36Speaker 9: You know, because everything's handed to me on a silver platter.
- 22:39Speaker 4: I'm Ted Bell.
- 22:40Speaker 9: You're Ted Bell?
- 22:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:41Speaker 9: I've never heard of you.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Bring some of your girlfriends. You know, I don't think
- 22:45Speaker 4: my girlfriends would be real impressed either. Well, I've got
- 22:48Speaker 4: to tell you something, okay? If you're not impressed by
- 22:49Speaker 4: $ 25 million, I don't know what's going to impress you, okay?
- 22:52Speaker 10: You know what?
- 22:53Speaker 9: Ted, that doesn't compare to some of the people that
- 22:55Speaker 9: I go to school with. I mean, you don't get it.
- 22:58Speaker 9: It's like.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Let me jump in here. You know what? I'm sorry.
- 23:01Speaker 5: We're getting off the subject here.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I need to jump in. This is Phil Henry.
- 23:04Speaker 3: The last woman from Indianapolis, you said you wanted to
- 23:06Speaker 3: go to her house and hike her skirt over her hips.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Now you're saying this girl's got to have sex with you.
- 23:11Speaker 9: Yeah, like, what is this?
- 23:12Speaker 4: It's a quarter to six. I've got to line something up, okay?
- 23:15Speaker 6: Ted.
- 23:16Speaker 4: It's a quarter to six.
- 23:17Speaker 9: This is absolutely ridiculous.
- 23:18Speaker 1: You are out of line, Ted, okay?
- 23:20Speaker 4: Ted, you know, honestly... It is natural for a rich
- 23:22Speaker 4: man to want to bet a 21-year-old college co-ed. Now,
- 23:26Speaker 4: there's nothing wrong with that. It's totally normal. And, you know,
- 23:30Speaker 4: I think you're missing a great shot here. But, okay,
- 23:32Speaker 4: if you say no, you say no.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Okay, hey, hey, Ted.
- 23:35Speaker 4: You want to go for it?
- 23:36Speaker 9: I really apologize. I think we've gotten off the track of.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Your— Are you in a story?
- 23:40Speaker 5: I'm going to have a lotto.
- 23:40Speaker 9: Show and teach everyone how to spend their money.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Are you in a story?
- 23:43Speaker 9: You know, get over the embarrassment, Ted. If you own
- 23:45Speaker 9: a restaurant and they embarrass you when they come into
- 23:47Speaker 9: your restaurant, you say, I'm sorry. I have the right
- 23:49Speaker 9: to refuse service. be mature, be adult about it, and
- 23:52Speaker 9: get on with your life.
- 23:53Speaker 4: All right, I want to ask a question. Don't go
- 23:54Speaker 4: home and sulk about this new money person who just
- 23:56Speaker 4: won the lotto and came in and doesn't know how
- 23:58Speaker 4: to use their money. That's true, but I've got to
- 24:00Speaker 4: ask Phil Hendry a question. What? You told me that
- 24:04Speaker 4: if I got a radio show that I'd get more
- 24:07Speaker 4: ass than a rental car, and now all of a
- 24:08Speaker 4: sudden that.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I did not tell you that.
- 24:11Speaker 5: Yeah, who the hell told you that?
- 24:12Speaker 1: I never said, I never told you.
- 24:13Speaker 9: I listen to Phil and he doesn't say that.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Bull crap, because I heard Phil Hendry told me that,
- 24:17Speaker 4: and now I've got a radio show. Did you hear that?
- 24:20Speaker 4: And I have $ 25 million, and I asked you to
- 24:21Speaker 4: go to bed with me, and you said no? How
- 24:23Speaker 4: dare you? I'm Ted Bell.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Ted, you've got a lot to learn. Oh, by the way.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Ted, guess what?
- 24:28Speaker 9: That's like me telling you how dare you don't want
- 24:31Speaker 9: to go to bed with me. I'm a 21-year-old.
- 24:33Speaker 1: By the way, Ted, you're married.
- 24:34Speaker 4: I'm what? You're married. And I have everything, and I
- 24:36Speaker 4: don't need your.
- 24:37Speaker 9: Money, Ted.
- 24:38Speaker 5: I have my own.
- 24:39Speaker 4: He hung up.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Bill Hendricks.
- 24:40Speaker 9: Flashback.
