- 0:45Speaker 1: you don't.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Have to be so dismissive.
- 0:46Speaker 4: I was just I said, no, I'd be better, Fred,
- 0:51Speaker 4: come on, same as umbrella coverage?
- 0:53Speaker 5: Sure, yeah, kind of Actually, yeah, that's closer than Tampa two.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Yea? Or is that nice enough? Did I have a
- 0:58Speaker 1: compliments very official?
- 1:00Speaker 4: Yeah, Michael's yeah, it's kind of a little something in there.
- 1:03Speaker 4: And then give me a little bit of yeah you
- 1:05Speaker 4: got a little a little.
- 1:07Speaker 1: And I remember one game, our other editor Brian Morey
- 1:10Speaker 1: was out for some reason or something. Paul had to
- 1:12Speaker 1: do like everything himself.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I don't think he was out. He was writing a book.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah, as the night progressed like a different article of
- 1:19Speaker 1: clothing when it come off is under ship. I swear
- 1:21Speaker 1: to god, he's sweating. He's just trying to get everything.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Thanks a lot. Brian exaggerates a lot of things about me.
- 1:29Speaker 1: He is not exaggerated.
- 1:31Speaker 2: This is Patriots Unfiltered.

- 1:40Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:45Speaker 1: in Jillette Stadium, and uh, yeah, we're getting ready for
- 1:49Speaker 1: a game. I guess right here we are, Yeah, the
- 1:51Speaker 1: l A Chargers Baileys.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Whether we're ready or not, there's a game on Sunday.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, so as Evan just gave the lead,
- 2:00Speaker 1: it's got to be Bailey, right.
- 2:01Speaker 4: It seems like yeah, yeah, Well he talked to you yesterday.
- 2:04Speaker 4: I mean he gave you a little great yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 5: I I you know, I tried to do my job
- 2:10Speaker 5: in the locker room yesterday and he walked in. So
- 2:12Speaker 5: I walked up to him and said, but.
- 2:14Speaker 4: It doesn't seem like he's officially talking at the podium today.
- 2:17Speaker 4: It seems like we're going to get a locker room.
- 2:19Speaker 5: So it doesn't matter what does it mean. But that's
- 2:23Speaker 5: not how I That's not what he said to me.
- 2:25Speaker 5: He said to me that he's talking tomorrow. You never
- 2:28Speaker 5: said podium where No, he never did, and everybody else
- 2:31Speaker 5: ran with podium And I was like, I, that's not
- 2:34Speaker 5: what I.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Got to earn the podium.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Did you invent that?
- 2:37Speaker 1: What?
- 2:37Speaker 3: Because I did see on my timeline everybody was saying
- 2:40Speaker 3: that he was playing on speaking. You're the only one
- 2:43Speaker 3: that got that information.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I stole it.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Yeah, So people say, oh, a few, a few reports.
- 2:48Speaker 5: One reporter, this guy walked up to Bailey Zappy and said, hey,
- 2:53Speaker 5: do you have a minute. He said, no, I can't
- 2:55Speaker 5: talk today. I'm going to talk tomorrow. I said, okay,
- 2:58Speaker 5: talk to you tomorrow. I said, I was prectice. He said,
- 3:00Speaker 5: practice was great. Next thing, I know, everybody is tweeting
- 3:03Speaker 5: out what he said when that was like he literally
- 3:06Speaker 5: said he didn't want to talk like that wasn't an
- 3:08Speaker 5: on the record thing to say, regardless, and.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Then Evan tweeted it out because he was like, well
- 3:13Speaker 4: and at.
- 3:13Speaker 5: That point, now I might as well just get the likes.
- 3:16Speaker 4: I did, like the great though, when he was a
- 3:17Speaker 4: big smile on his face, great.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Big smile, big smile, great practice.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Let him up, Let him up big time. They had
- 3:23Speaker 4: no chance. Patriots defense. Yeah, and fuego.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Well last week, you know, he hid from us per usual.
- 3:30Speaker 5: You know, this happens a lot.
- 3:31Speaker 4: I'm not saying that everybody does it.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it happens a ton some days.
- 3:36Speaker 5: They you know that that's our time, you know, out
- 3:38Speaker 5: of the locker room, and uh, we're going out of
- 3:40Speaker 5: the locker room and I see him and I'm like, hey,
- 3:42Speaker 5: you're going to get you tomorrow. He was like, he
- 3:46Speaker 5: was like, all right, tomorrow. And I was like, get
- 3:48Speaker 5: you tomorrow.
- 3:50Speaker 4: It's gonna be chaos in there. I mean, there were
- 3:52Speaker 4: so many people there, Paul. I mean, I saw Garady again.
- 3:54Speaker 4: I was like, oh, like he's on Felgrimaud You're only
- 3:57Speaker 4: come on the days that the Paul's not here.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I appreciated that.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Yeah, he's ducking me. Yeah. So, I mean, I think
- 4:05Speaker 3: when when Evan came back from practice yesterday, we all
- 4:07Speaker 3: sort of assumed. I think we were assuming going in Yeah. Uh, anyway,
- 4:11Speaker 3: but what do you expect to change? You know, does
- 4:15Speaker 3: anything change you know if Zappi is the guy running
- 4:19Speaker 3: the show.
- 4:19Speaker 4: For me, it's just does he potentially have a little
- 4:21Speaker 4: little bit of juice after having a full week of practice.
- 4:23Speaker 4: I mean I'm not expecting it. Yeah, I mean I'm
- 4:25Speaker 4: expecting it to expecting what it was.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I am expecting it to be better.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Though.
- 4:29Speaker 4: They're gonna let him throw downfield. Does he want to
- 4:31Speaker 4: throw downfield? Is he? Is he just gonna you know,
- 4:33Speaker 4: is he going to play aggressively and say, look, this
- 4:36Speaker 4: is another chance for me? I mean, this is a
- 4:38Speaker 4: chance for Bailey Zappy right now. You know, going back
- 4:40Speaker 4: to last year, we've been talking about Bailey Zappy and
- 4:42Speaker 4: his opportunities and what you know, just for him in
- 4:44Speaker 4: a bubble like it's a chance for him.
- 4:46Speaker 3: I agree. I keep saying, at the very least, evaluate
- 4:49Speaker 3: your roster, your personnel. Find out if he's a backup.
- 4:52Speaker 3: If you're convinced that he can't be the guy of
- 4:54Speaker 3: the future, I would probably agree, find out if he's
- 4:57Speaker 3: a backup. See if you have to invest, you know,
- 4:59Speaker 3: like a a lot of teams, do you know, significant
- 5:02Speaker 3: money into a backup or do you look at him
- 5:06Speaker 3: and say, no, he's perfectly fine we had. If we
- 5:08Speaker 3: had to deal with him for two or three games,
- 5:10Speaker 3: I think we would be a business as usual.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Yeah, that's exactly how I look at it. If with
- 5:16Speaker 5: all due respect to Bailey z Appy, I'm not looking
- 5:19Speaker 5: at him as a franchise guy, regardless of what he
- 5:21Speaker 5: does over the next six weeks, like unless they go
- 5:23Speaker 5: six and oh and he's averaging three hundred yards a
- 5:25Speaker 5: game and he looks like he's you know, Tom freaking
- 5:28Speaker 5: Brady out there. I'm not putting him as as the
- 5:30Speaker 5: starter next year. But if you don't have to blow
- 5:33Speaker 5: up your entire quarterback room because Bailey Zappy is a
- 5:36Speaker 5: capable NFL backup, then it's at least one spot that
- 5:38Speaker 5: you have filled. And if you look across the league,
- 5:41Speaker 5: backup quarterback matters, Like a lot of teams are playing
- 5:44Speaker 5: their backup quarterbacks right now. Some teams are playing their
- 5:46Speaker 5: third string courts, and some of them, you know, I
- 5:48Speaker 5: don't care, I do not care what they make, but
- 5:51Speaker 5: some of them make some money.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, So yeah, I think it would be an
- 5:54Speaker 3: advantage if you could find that out.
- 5:56Speaker 4: I just think coming off of last year, there was
- 5:57Speaker 4: kind of this feeling that maybe he's a gamer. Like
- 6:00Speaker 4: maybe he doesn't look like a lot, he doesn't have
- 6:01Speaker 4: a big arm, but maybe he's a gamer and he
- 6:04Speaker 4: gets in that.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I think there's something to that.
- 6:06Speaker 4: I do too, But I think this year is kind
- 6:08Speaker 4: of under were talking about Bailey Zappi. Yeah, it's just
- 6:11Speaker 4: this year it didn't he didn't seem as much of a
- 6:12Speaker 4: gamer like.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It wasn't like there was.
- 6:14Speaker 3: A little different. And here's why I will be defensive
- 6:17Speaker 3: of the Zappiites, you know, but you know they're not Macalyites.
- 6:22Speaker 3: So I do think there's a difference. And we said
- 6:25Speaker 3: it yesterday right with the two games that he started,
- 6:29Speaker 3: he played pretty well. It was all the other games
- 6:32Speaker 3: that he didn't play as well, and so maybe there
- 6:34Speaker 3: was a difference. And in that regard, if you need
- 6:36Speaker 3: to have him start, you know, maybe that's that's kind.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Of what you're looking at, you know what. His two
- 6:42Speaker 1: games remind me a little bit, particularly the one in Cleveland,
- 6:46Speaker 1: and he wasn't as as good, but remember when Garoppolo
- 6:50Speaker 1: stepped in and he looked efficient as hell, Like it
- 6:53Speaker 1: was almost like a West Coast offense. It was like,
- 6:56Speaker 1: you know, quick in rhythm passes, you know, everything.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Short the Miami game. Remember when he got the first
- 7:03Speaker 3: half of them.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Whoa, that was the best game he's ever played. I think, yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 1: first it was, you know, but it was like very
- 7:10Speaker 1: like would you you know, would you say that it
- 7:12Speaker 1: resembled a West Coast type of style passing that that
- 7:17Speaker 1: was before.
- 7:17Speaker 5: I like was really like studying their tape, so I
- 7:21Speaker 5: couldn't tell you.
- 7:22Speaker 3: But yeah, you know what you mean.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure it was not what it just Garoppolo
- 7:28Speaker 1: looked just so efficient, and I would say that, you know,
- 7:32Speaker 1: you know, uh, the style that they had Zappi playing
- 7:36Speaker 1: was similar, not as good, not as good as when
- 7:38Speaker 1: Garoppolo had those two games, but.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Well the Miami game especially.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but but it was efficient. It was like, okay,
- 7:46Speaker 1: balls out of his hands, guys are running the right routes,
- 7:49Speaker 1: they're getting you know. For whatever reason, it looked different,
- 7:52Speaker 1: and we all you know, chalked it up to, well,
- 7:56Speaker 1: they dumbed down the offense. They made it a lot easier,
- 7:58Speaker 1: they used more play action. Well it worked, you know,
- 8:01Speaker 1: so why don't you do that when the other guy's
- 8:04Speaker 1: in there? You know, I don't know, I don't know.
- 8:06Speaker 5: The the one thing I will give Zappy, amongst some
- 8:09Speaker 5: other things. I agree with the guys here that getting
- 8:13Speaker 5: a full week of practice and having the game plan
- 8:15Speaker 5: catered around you, and the call sheet is your call
- 8:18Speaker 5: sheet with Bill O'Brien and it's not Mac Jones's there,
- 8:20Speaker 5: it's not halftime, and then you're you know, catching up.
- 8:23Speaker 1: That's a huge difference.
- 8:24Speaker 5: It's a huge difference now that they're gonna go into
- 8:27Speaker 5: this game calling a game and planning to call a
- 8:30Speaker 5: game for Bailey Zappi and not Mac Jones. And I
- 8:32Speaker 5: think a couple of things that Bailey Zappi clearly does
- 8:35Speaker 5: better than Mac is ball fakes. I think he's a
- 8:38Speaker 5: better play action passer. I think he's better on fakes,
- 8:41Speaker 5: on screens and different ball handling, and he sells it better.
- 8:44Speaker 5: It's just he's more, you know, willing to kind of
- 8:47Speaker 5: sell those play action fakes and really keep the ball
- 8:50Speaker 5: in the running backs chest and not give the defense
- 8:53Speaker 5: those tells as much. And he was really efficient off
- 8:56Speaker 5: of play action last year. The traditional dropbacks are the
- 8:59Speaker 5: non playoff action plays weren't as good.
- 9:01Speaker 1: It just wasn't.
- 9:02Speaker 5: But the play action stuff was off the charts good.
- 9:05Speaker 5: He had a perfect passer rating. Off play action last
- 9:08Speaker 5: year seventeen yards per attempt, which is just stupid.
- 9:12Speaker 1: And how much of that was yards after catch? Not
- 9:16Speaker 1: not all of it, really, you know, some of it.
- 9:18Speaker 5: And we were talking about this yesterday because I went
- 9:20Speaker 5: back and I watched you know, a decent amount of
- 9:22Speaker 5: Bailey Zappi the last week or so, and a lot
- 9:25Speaker 5: of it, unfortunately was Jacoby and so so like, how
- 9:29Speaker 5: much of it was just that, you know, they would
- 9:31Speaker 5: run these like max protect play actions and Jacoby would
- 9:35Speaker 5: have all this field to just make a move at
- 9:37Speaker 5: the top of the route and get open, and that
- 9:39Speaker 5: that was his bread and butter was just creating separation
- 9:42Speaker 5: at the top of the route. Now that they're not
- 9:45Speaker 5: gonna have Pop Douglas probably in this game because he's
- 9:47Speaker 5: in concussion protocol, who is the guy that's gonna be
- 9:51Speaker 5: creating that mismatch? Do they even have that guy? It's
- 9:54Speaker 5: probably gonna be Juju running the routees. What of the
- 9:57Speaker 5: question is he going to be able to get open?
- 9:59Speaker 4: Yeah, it's good roundable quicker today that I brought up,
- 10:01Speaker 4: But you haven't done it yet. It's okay, you'll get
- 10:03Speaker 4: to it.
- 10:03Speaker 3: I'm sure I will get to it.
- 10:05Speaker 4: I'm curious how the team reacts, like is there a
- 10:08Speaker 4: tangible feeling of the team. Are there less delay of
- 10:11Speaker 4: game penalties? Are there? You know, like does is there
- 10:13Speaker 4: a different vibe? It's hard to feel, you know, to
- 10:16Speaker 4: know for sure, but you know, is there an energy
- 10:18Speaker 4: going through the team right now? Like we got a
- 10:20Speaker 4: new guy, let's get behind him, you know, like, like
- 10:22Speaker 4: do the things that some people are talking about.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I think it would be a little bit of a
- 10:26Speaker 1: boost if the reports earlier are true. I forget who
- 10:30Speaker 1: reported it and who they talked to, but they said
- 10:32Speaker 1: that Mac had lost eighty percent of the locker room.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Callahan reported that I don't know who he talked to,
- 10:38Speaker 1: if it was just one person and that was one
- 10:41Speaker 1: person's opinion. But you know, then on the other hand,
- 10:45Speaker 1: I look at a guy like Hunter Henry, who was
- 10:47Speaker 1: reportedly part of the Mac Jones five last year, does
- 10:50Speaker 1: he feel sorry for Mac Jones, like, you know, my
- 10:52Speaker 1: friend got mistreated and you know, like I don't know,
- 10:57Speaker 1: I don't know. And that's that's the problem with this
- 10:59Speaker 1: year locker room is it could be fishers, it could
- 11:03Speaker 1: be divisions. So but I would think, like, okay, new start,
- 11:08Speaker 1: you know, maybe practice is a little bit more upbeat.
- 11:11Speaker 1: You know, let's hope yeah, yeah, or some people are
- 11:15Speaker 1: hoping it doesn't work because you know.
- 11:18Speaker 3: But now, But I could see it going either way
- 11:20Speaker 3: if they're both both sides, and I think what could happen.
- 11:24Speaker 3: And this is gonna be interesting the success if they
- 11:29Speaker 3: have it right away, because you know, it's gonna inject
- 11:32Speaker 3: the crowd. Sure, just like just like last year, you know,
- 11:37Speaker 3: when he got in the game and those two drives
- 11:38Speaker 3: against Chicago and they all of a sudden had fourteen
- 11:41Speaker 3: points on the board, the place was going crazy. Now
- 11:44Speaker 3: it'd be a little different because they're two and nine
- 11:47Speaker 3: now and the season wasn't over ironically until they lost
- 11:51Speaker 3: that Chicago. Like, I just wonder what the buzz will
- 11:56Speaker 3: be like in this in the crowd.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Well, it'd be interesting because I think there will be
- 12:01Speaker 1: some fans even if he's doing well and they jump
- 12:04Speaker 1: out to a lead, we don't want to win this game.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And how enthusiastic will the Zappi chance be.
- 12:10Speaker 3: I don't think there's a lot of people that come
- 12:12Speaker 3: to them. I mean there are some you're you're absolutely right,
- 12:14Speaker 3: but I think when you're at the game you want
- 12:16Speaker 3: to rooting for your team.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I get yeah, if you.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Went out of your way to go to the stadium
- 12:20Speaker 3: and tailgated stands like I do. I told the story.
- 12:24Speaker 3: I don't know if I said it to you. Fred
- 12:26Speaker 3: the Buffalo game, I had a couple of the guys,
- 12:30Speaker 3: you know, my buddies that I coach baseball, I used
- 12:32Speaker 3: to coach baseball with huge I mean, they're huge fans.
- 12:36Speaker 3: One of them is a psychotic fan. And he said,
- 12:39Speaker 3: like he did, he found himself in the fourth quarter
- 12:41Speaker 3: of that game really tormented, like the game was so fun,
- 12:46Speaker 3: and they were watching this drive at the end of
- 12:48Speaker 3: the game and they're like part of in the back
- 12:50Speaker 3: of his mind, he was saying, yeah, just get down
- 12:52Speaker 3: on like the five yard line and then fall short.
- 12:54Speaker 3: You know, have something happen where they don't get in.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Maybe maybe the ref makes a bad call against the
- 12:58Speaker 3: Patriots that cost them the game. As they were in
- 13:00Speaker 3: the already thinking maybe we might want to win the game. Ready,
- 13:05Speaker 3: I think I think if I was, I know, I know,
- 13:07Speaker 3: I know you guys weren't doing it yet, but everybody
- 13:09Speaker 3: else was. I do wonder, what, you know, if they
- 13:15Speaker 3: go out in the first drive, and they go right
- 13:16Speaker 3: down the field and score a touchdown. Oh yeah, I
- 13:18Speaker 3: think the crowd's going to be going crazy.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah, poor Mac.
- 13:22Speaker 5: We've got our guys, all right.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I do want to before we go any further, let
- 13:27Speaker 1: people know of what's going on at the show within
- 13:30Speaker 1: a show halftime, So we're gonna be giving away a poster.
- 13:33Speaker 1: This is this week's poster, this game's poster for the
- 13:38Speaker 1: Chargers game. Do I have a camera, yeah, cameras on me,
- 13:40Speaker 1: Camera one. It's anime, so for you anime lovers, kind
- 13:46Speaker 1: of a shout out to the Chargers because they do
- 13:48Speaker 1: a lot of anime over there. Signed by the artist
- 13:54Speaker 1: in number, it's this is two seventy one of two
- 13:56Speaker 1: seventy five, only two hundred and seventy five in circulation.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Comes with their certificate of authenticity, and I'm gonna put
- 14:03Speaker 1: it back in its plastic so Paul doesn't get his
- 14:05Speaker 1: food on it.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I'm just gonna get my barbecue sauce on these these
- 14:10Speaker 3: kicks over here. So we'll give away that cause.
- 14:13Speaker 1: We'll be giving away that at halftime. And then what
- 14:17Speaker 1: do I need to say about these? Uh, Matt, you
- 14:20Speaker 1: don't have to be mean, No, I don't I Cause
- 14:23Speaker 1: my cleats, but Tampa too. I know that this. Matisse
- 14:26Speaker 1: and Kristin mchel Uh designed those two.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Matist did the black and gold one and Kristen did
- 14:30Speaker 6: the other one.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Do people get to win them?
- 14:32Speaker 3: Mass irooneer for Christmas?
- 14:34Speaker 1: Why are we showing them? They're they're might Cause my
- 14:36Speaker 1: cleats on the halftime show you're going to talk about. Okay,
- 14:39Speaker 1: So this year, as people know, players have been doing
- 14:43Speaker 1: My Cause My cleats for a long time now, it's
- 14:45Speaker 1: like eight years or something like that, where they pick
- 14:47Speaker 1: a cause and they designed cleats. This year they opened
- 14:50Speaker 1: it up to NFL employees and so this organization picked
- 14:54Speaker 1: a dozen people. Two of them are near and dear
- 14:58Speaker 1: to us. So Matisse uh upstairs. Uh, this is his
- 15:02Speaker 1: sneaker and it's greater opportunity for athletes to learn. So
- 15:08Speaker 1: that's his one that he designed. Has got soccer on one,
- 15:12Speaker 1: soccer on both sides.
- 15:13Speaker 4: It's a soccer guy. Yes.
- 15:14Speaker 1: And then Mikayla who was in our sales Kristen I
- 15:19Speaker 1: don't know, I'm sorry, yeah, Kristen who was in our
- 15:24Speaker 1: analytics department. She did site set on a cure. So
- 15:29Speaker 1: this is her design and mass General Brigham logo in
- 15:35Speaker 1: the back. So that's pretty cool that they allowed employees
- 15:38Speaker 1: to get involved in this, and so they'll be on
- 15:41Speaker 1: the halftime show.
- 15:42Speaker 4: She's got the same size feet as tease.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, so I liked what said.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Sorry, Kristen, all right, So.
- 15:53Speaker 1: But the post is really cool and that that'll be
- 15:56Speaker 1: a good get for anyone that.
- 15:57Speaker 4: I think my son might want one. He's an anime guy.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Is that supposed to be? Is that justin Herbert or
- 16:02Speaker 5: is that just like.
- 16:03Speaker 1: No, it's it's supposed to be like a pat patriot
- 16:06Speaker 1: because you see the try car. Okay, yeah, yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 4: I thought there was something anime like, well it's actually.
- 16:12Speaker 1: An animate you know, actually, all right, So we get
- 16:16Speaker 1: that out of the way, one piece. You got that
- 16:18Speaker 1: out of the way, all right. So so ZAPPI appears
- 16:22Speaker 1: to be the starter this year and then the backup
- 16:27Speaker 1: right now. The other thing that you came in and
- 16:29Speaker 1: you gave an accurate portrayal of the practice. It was
- 16:32Speaker 1: like five minutes that you saw I go on Paul
- 16:36Speaker 1: shows on my ride home and with the report is
- 16:41Speaker 1: like the whole they made it seem like the whole
- 16:43Speaker 1: practice that it was Bailey ZAPPI and.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Can I can I just like I Do'm not. I
- 16:50Speaker 3: don't know what show you heard and what person individually,
- 16:52Speaker 3: but can I. I do say that that that kind
- 16:54Speaker 3: of advanced as the day went on. It was Keith
- 16:57Speaker 3: well people, Okay, so that's at night. Yeah, people had
- 17:00Speaker 3: tweeted out, and I would like to credit whoe if
- 17:03Speaker 3: you guys know who tweeted I often I often get
- 17:08Speaker 3: about about the according to sources, Mac Jones did nothing
- 17:13Speaker 3: but scout team.
- 17:15Speaker 5: I think that Doug was the first one that I
- 17:17Speaker 5: want to credit.
- 17:18Speaker 3: People like I, I often get snarky with the media.
- 17:20Speaker 3: I want to credit them too when they come out
- 17:22Speaker 3: with some information.
- 17:24Speaker 1: You know, the way they portrayed it on the show
- 17:26Speaker 1: at night, it was the practice that Zappy took all
- 17:32Speaker 1: the snaps, you know, Cunningham took some Mac just watched.
- 17:36Speaker 1: That was what happened in the five minutes that you saw, correct,
- 17:39Speaker 1: But they extended.
- 17:40Speaker 3: It to the I'm trying to explain to you as
- 17:42Speaker 3: people advanced that based on what they said, what they
- 17:45Speaker 3: talked about in the locker room, found out in the
- 17:48Speaker 3: locker That's what I'm saying, Like, I'm.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Not making fun of them all right, maybe.
- 17:51Speaker 5: What I don't know, and not all of them came
- 17:55Speaker 5: out at the same time. I'm not trying to say
- 17:56Speaker 5: that they're not true. Howen how does practice participation leak
- 18:04Speaker 5: like that with the Patriots? And I just find that
- 18:06Speaker 5: interesting just because it's Doug's a good reporter, and I'm
- 18:11Speaker 5: sure what he got was right, but we were standing
- 18:13Speaker 5: in the locker room and he tweeted that from the
- 18:17Speaker 5: locker room. It wasn't because he talked to people in
- 18:19Speaker 5: the locker room. I don't think he talked to people
- 18:22Speaker 5: sometimes I don't want to.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I don't want to assume, but that's what I assume.
- 18:27Speaker 5: And I just find it a little interesting that all
- 18:29Speaker 5: of a sudden like information like that is like privy,
- 18:31Speaker 5: like you can just go ahead.
- 18:32Speaker 3: And the only reason why I stepped in on that
- 18:36Speaker 3: Fred was not because I'm trying to say this is
- 18:38Speaker 3: what happened, that didn't happen this like I don't know.
- 18:41Speaker 3: I'm just saying I wouldn't criticize people on the radio
- 18:45Speaker 3: reading stuff on Twitter because I read the same stuff
- 18:47Speaker 3: on Twitter. Yeah, that was that was definitely more about
- 18:50Speaker 3: Mac Jones being just doing scout work at practice. Now
- 18:55Speaker 3: to Evan's point, I don't know if that's that's accurate.
- 18:58Speaker 3: I'm just telling you that's what people tweet.
- 19:00Speaker 1: It just multiply. You know.
- 19:01Speaker 5: Doug was the first one that I saw had and
- 19:04Speaker 5: I think Mark said something like good for like good
- 19:06Speaker 5: job by them. But like I just it's shocking to
- 19:08Speaker 5: me that, you know, three years ago you never would
- 19:11Speaker 5: have gotten what who was practicing where and stuff like that,
- 19:14Speaker 5: and now you two and nine and like, all of
- 19:16Speaker 5: a sudden things are starting to come out.
- 19:17Speaker 4: I mean, do you think it's to head off the
- 19:19Speaker 4: constant questioning of Bill's press conferences are on? Just like
- 19:22Speaker 4: Bill or Bailey who you know, Like, are they just
- 19:24Speaker 4: trying to.
- 19:24Speaker 5: Well I thought of that too, because Fred said yesterday
- 19:27Speaker 5: that they wanted us to see that baby. I surmise
- 19:31Speaker 5: that yeah, yeah, yeah, right, that that Bailey was out there,
- 19:35Speaker 5: and then all of a sudden, you know, Doug and
- 19:37Speaker 5: Mark have it source that Bailey took the like. So
- 19:42Speaker 5: Bill doesn't want to answer it at the podium, but
- 19:44Speaker 5: he's leaking it, like you know, people are finding out.
- 19:46Speaker 1: That's how he was telling us.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Yeah, That's what Burt Breer criticizes a lot, is that
- 19:51Speaker 3: after he does his press conference, then he lets the
- 19:54Speaker 3: information out there so he doesn't have to answer what.
- 19:56Speaker 1: What do we always say? Watch what they do, not
- 19:58Speaker 1: what they say. And what they did yesterday was give
- 20:02Speaker 1: us a little glimpse into something that they wanted us
- 20:05Speaker 1: to see for whatever reason, whether it's a slight of
- 20:08Speaker 1: hand or here's your answers, stop asking.
- 20:11Speaker 4: You know, it's kind of dramatic. I mean to have
- 20:13Speaker 4: Molee cunning him out there and think, look, Mazon even
- 20:15Speaker 4: taking the second reps, like it's dramatic that the pace.
- 20:18Speaker 1: But I think that's the way to go. I think
- 20:21Speaker 1: you make a clean break you you don't put on today.
- 20:26Speaker 3: And I thought Evan brought that up yesterday on the show,
- 20:28Speaker 3: like if if you're not going to start mac, you
- 20:30Speaker 3: might be better off just having him inactive. Ye yeah,
- 20:32Speaker 3: but do you But what about the Cunningham part of it.
- 20:35Speaker 5: The Cunningham thing is so weird to me because so
- 20:38Speaker 5: he's been based off of you know what Troy Brown said.
- 20:41Speaker 5: I think Bill O'Brien said something similar. Even Bill kind
- 20:45Speaker 5: of touched it on it a little bit about his
- 20:47Speaker 5: majority of the time he's been with the receivers, he
- 20:50Speaker 5: has done a little bit in the quarterback room, but
- 20:53Speaker 5: at practice he's really only practicing quarterback on the scout
- 20:55Speaker 5: team when they're facing a mobile quarterback. Other than that,
- 20:58Speaker 5: it's been all and he didn't look ready against the
- 21:02Speaker 5: Raiders to play even in like a package of plays
- 21:04Speaker 5: at all. Yeah, right, and so what what's the I
- 21:09Speaker 5: just don't understand what the what the point?
- 21:12Speaker 1: But we also don't know what they've been doing with
- 21:14Speaker 1: him since then, Like has he continued to you know,
- 21:16Speaker 1: get through.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Because you go back to your line, right, you can't
- 21:19Speaker 3: just go there're telling us that all he does is
- 21:21Speaker 3: wide receiver, but maybe that's not accurate.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I know they said that he plays some quarterback
- 21:25Speaker 5: and he's in the quarterback rooms sometimes, you know. But
- 21:29Speaker 5: I just think that ultimately, like to what end are
- 21:33Speaker 5: you doing that? And maybe they they signed Rope Will
- 21:37Speaker 5: grew back to the practice squad. Malik is currently on
- 21:40Speaker 5: the practice squad. So either way there, if Mac is
- 21:43Speaker 5: not going to be the second quarter the backup quarterback,
- 21:45Speaker 5: they have to elevate somebody from the practice squad to
- 21:47Speaker 5: play to be the backup quarterback. So if it's Greer,
- 21:52Speaker 5: if it's Cunningham, I still think that jury is out.
- 21:54Speaker 5: I'm not ready to say it's going to lak.
- 21:57Speaker 4: I'm more and more like the idea though, just not
- 21:59Speaker 4: having out there. So if it goes rough with Bailey Zappy, right, yeah,
- 22:03Speaker 4: I wouldn't want to go back to like we can't
- 22:04Speaker 4: like just let him ride it and then maybe Cunningham
- 22:07Speaker 4: fickles really bad. Maybe, but I don't know.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Was career at practice yesterday? He was in the locker room,
- 22:12Speaker 3: he was I know he was back, but I didn't
- 22:13Speaker 3: know if you they didn't.
- 22:14Speaker 5: They announced the transaction at the end of the day,
- 22:16Speaker 5: so I'd assume he was out there because remember I
- 22:19Speaker 5: came in and I thought it was well at first,
- 22:20Speaker 5: I got my numbers confused.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Yeah, so he was out there. Oh yeah, okay, yeah, okay.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Then I got thrown off because I was seeing like
- 22:27Speaker 3: video in the quarter I was looking at Zappie and
- 22:30Speaker 3: he had like looked like a black jersey because and
- 22:32Speaker 3: I was like, is that like one of the practice squad?
- 22:35Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not practice squad, practice player of the week.
- 22:38Speaker 3: And I was like, oh no, no, no, they're in there.
- 22:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't win last week.
- 22:41Speaker 5: Were in the red practice sleepy?
- 22:44Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 22:45Speaker 4: I think so.
- 22:46Speaker 3: See, that's how much they win. Because when I was
- 22:49Speaker 3: at practice, there was always someone in the black jersey,
- 22:52Speaker 3: So I saw much that used to win.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Evan, You'll be going out to practice a little after
- 22:57Speaker 1: one and we'll see what they.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Want us to see today, probably stretching.
- 23:02Speaker 1: You they got to go back to just stretching.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Well, you get one day of that extra time for
- 23:06Speaker 5: the cameras to shoot b roll.
- 23:08Speaker 3: That's that's the Wednesday.
- 23:10Speaker 5: So those are the rules to buy the and we
- 23:13Speaker 5: should hear from NFL Writers Association or whatever it is.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Yeah, he said, but we don't know official podium.
- 23:20Speaker 3: No podium scheduled. Absolutely, so if he's going to talk,
- 23:23Speaker 3: it's going to be Brady style in his locker, at
- 23:25Speaker 3: his locker.
- 23:26Speaker 1: That ended because of a big reason.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Okay, a big crowd there yesterday, though we're surprised how
- 23:31Speaker 4: many media contingent was there.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Circle and see the castle crumble, you know.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Yeah, well we know our post game presser numbers for
- 23:41Speaker 1: Bill and Mack have gone way up. And it's just
- 23:43Speaker 1: people love seeing a car wreck. I guess, so I.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Do wonder too, didn't there was some I don't know
- 23:50Speaker 3: how much. I mean the Army Navy stuff yesterday. Maybe
- 23:52Speaker 3: there was media that people here in there for that
- 23:54Speaker 3: and they stayed and maybe that.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Was were there people in uniforms out there? Military?
- 23:58Speaker 3: Why don't mean people for kidding?
- 24:01Speaker 5: There was a There was a helicopter, though not not
- 24:06Speaker 5: mister Kraft's helicopter, Army or Navy helicopter, and it took
- 24:10Speaker 5: off during practice like during yeah, taking the admirals back
- 24:16Speaker 5: to to you know, Annapolis or whatever it was. It
- 24:19Speaker 5: was pretty cool. It's like one of those big like
- 24:21Speaker 5: Apache style held. I don't know anything about helicopter, so
- 24:24Speaker 5: I'm just guess called the Yeah, I have no clues, Choppa,
- 24:27Speaker 5: like black Hawk Down is as far as I go,
- 24:29Speaker 5: I don't know what it is.
- 24:31Speaker 1: All right, what else? So there's the Zappy storyline. What
- 24:34Speaker 1: else do we want to put on the table?
- 24:36Speaker 4: There's another Kicker signed.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Matthew he was he was in the locker room.
- 24:41Speaker 5: I'm assuming that transaction will be official today.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Okay, because there were a couple of signings yesterday. There
- 24:45Speaker 1: was a wide receiver and Will Greer obviously, but yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Yeah, the Kicker is not official yet. But we talked
- 24:51Speaker 5: about the Kicker a little bit at the end of
- 24:52Speaker 5: Cash twenty two. Not only did he miss the thirty
- 24:55Speaker 5: five yard and sendated overtime, they also wouldn't attempt a
- 24:58Speaker 5: fifty four yarder with him and he missed the kick
- 25:00Speaker 5: in Germany also from like thirty five thirty five something
- 25:05Speaker 5: like that. So at this point, like you have to
- 25:07Speaker 5: worry about the kicker having the yips, like you know,
- 25:09Speaker 5: maybe he's broken too. So it's that add that to
- 25:12Speaker 5: the list.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I do like the way he hands I mean,
- 25:14Speaker 3: I don't like the fact that he has to handle it, obviously,
- 25:17Speaker 3: but I like the way he handles it.
- 25:18Speaker 4: The same thing yesterday about bringing guys in.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah, understand, I haven't been not the par I haven't
- 25:22Speaker 3: done the job. That's what they should be doing. I
- 25:24Speaker 3: think he said, just young kid, you know, he gets it.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Gostowski never really hit a skid and early in his
- 25:32Speaker 4: career did he Like I don't really remember him ever.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Well, the thing about Gaskowski is it took a while
- 25:36Speaker 1: before he had the opportunity to have those game winning kicks.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Well that was his Thing's well, we haven't seen him
- 25:42Speaker 1: under fire yet, you know.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Then the O six Chargers game in the playoffs, he
- 25:46Speaker 4: hit a big you know, big one. Yeah, but but
- 25:48Speaker 4: never like Adams like here it is win or lose, right.
- 25:52Speaker 1: He never had those opportunities.
- 25:53Speaker 4: He didn't have the Giants twenty fifteen.
- 25:55Speaker 3: He didn't have make or miss, win or lose for
- 25:58Speaker 3: a while.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Yeah for a while.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Fred's right, and you know when he had sort of
- 26:02Speaker 3: big kicks, Bill seemed to pass them up.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Like go for forty two, super Bowl forty two, they
- 26:07Speaker 4: pissed up one right.
- 26:08Speaker 5: Forty eight the end of the half, remember the at
- 26:12Speaker 5: the end of fifty three and Brady just goes over
- 26:15Speaker 5: to them, like, what are we doing? Yeah, says something
- 26:21Speaker 5: else to me that I'll say for a different probably
- 26:23Speaker 5: like an off season show.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Yeah, the voice of Reason.
- 26:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Gonna be what do we do it? There is no
- 26:28Speaker 4: off season anymore? This this team?
- 26:31Speaker 1: All right? What else? Anything else? Before we open up
- 26:35Speaker 1: the phones? I know, we gotta hurry here from Zappi.
- 26:37Speaker 1: We got a big week.
- 26:38Speaker 4: Lawrence guy had a big press conference this morning. He
- 26:40Speaker 4: was he's always he's bringing the fun a little bit,
- 26:42Speaker 4: so that's nice to offset some of the loss of
- 26:45Speaker 4: of Judon.
- 26:45Speaker 5: But the two gapping fun take on.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Those double it's going to be a while week. We've
- 26:51Speaker 1: got the game on Sunday, and we've got a game
- 26:53Speaker 1: on Thursday, and then we got the Army Navy on Saturday.
- 26:56Speaker 1: So this place is going to be well. The game
- 26:59Speaker 1: on Thursday is an away game. But yeah, busy week,
- 27:03Speaker 1: busy week.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Thursday games are the worst, terrible, terrible, especially when not
- 27:09Speaker 5: like because of me, like for the team.
- 27:11Speaker 1: No, I'm just saying because of me.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I like Thursday games for myself, but I
- 27:15Speaker 3: agree with that, but they're.
- 27:16Speaker 1: They're terrible for us. I agree.
- 27:18Speaker 5: But having to be the road team on Thursday night
- 27:22Speaker 5: from a team perspective is ridiculous. Is really brutal because
- 27:25Speaker 5: you're losing Wednesday kind of too.
- 27:27Speaker 7: Now.
- 27:27Speaker 5: I wonder if maybe they leave late on Wednesday so
- 27:31Speaker 5: that they can have a full day here, because it's
- 27:33Speaker 5: not a far from that makes sense.
- 27:34Speaker 1: But still it's it's brutal. Yep, all right. Eight five
- 27:38Speaker 1: five Pats five hundred is the ACE ticket hot line.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Web radio at patries dot com is an email address.
- 27:42Speaker 1: People are lined up. Line down has been on. Let's
- 27:45Speaker 1: go to Raymond in California. What's up Raymond? Or Ramen?
- 27:52Speaker 1: Hello Raymond, Ramen? No, Ramen no, he's on't are you
- 27:59Speaker 1: on mute? Have you yourself?
- 28:01Speaker 3: Wait at all?
- 28:02Speaker 1: He's out? Patty's an agabam. What's up?
- 28:05Speaker 4: Patty got to wait about thirty seconds? Doing all?
- 28:11Speaker 3: Right?
- 28:12Speaker 8: A couple of quick questions and I'll take him off
- 28:14Speaker 8: there so you can get other guys on the First
- 28:17Speaker 8: one is do you think, well, what what do you
- 28:22Speaker 8: think the issue was with Phil? Would just say saying yeah,
- 28:25Speaker 8: that he's going to start. I mean, is a pride
- 28:28Speaker 8: at this point? I mean, the season's already lost and
- 28:31Speaker 8: he's not throwing anyone under the bus by by naming
- 28:34Speaker 8: a starting quarterback. And then the second question, I had
- 28:37Speaker 8: a little bit weird and complicated. And I don't know
- 28:41Speaker 8: if any of you guys will know this, but since
- 28:44Speaker 8: they wrote, you know, signed the leak to the active roster,
- 28:47Speaker 8: then waived them, and then re signed them to the
- 28:49Speaker 8: practice squad, does that replenish his practice squad elevations for
- 28:53Speaker 8: the like? Does he get a whole new like bunch
- 28:55Speaker 8: of practice finals.
- 28:56Speaker 3: I don't believe he's used any practice squad elevations. He
- 28:59Speaker 3: was signed to the roster, that's not a practice squad elevation,
- 29:02Speaker 3: so I think he still would have three of them.
- 29:05Speaker 3: They did. They signed him to the roster and that
- 29:07Speaker 3: the Raiders game, and then they ended up cutting him
- 29:11Speaker 3: and putting them back to the practice squad. That doesn't
- 29:13Speaker 3: count as an elevation. My question on the elevation, I
- 29:18Speaker 3: don't know. No, he went from the practice squad, so
- 29:21Speaker 3: I know this, this sounds kind of counterintuitive. Patty. You're
- 29:26Speaker 3: allowed I think, three, right, So you can just go
- 29:29Speaker 3: from the practice squad to the active roster with a
- 29:32Speaker 3: regular elevation three times. And then once you do that
- 29:36Speaker 3: three times, they either have to sign you to the
- 29:39Speaker 3: active roster or you have to stay on the practice
- 29:41Speaker 3: squad the rest of the way, or you can just
- 29:44Speaker 3: choose to sign a player from the practice squad to
- 29:48Speaker 3: the active roster. And that's what they did with Malie
- 29:51Speaker 3: Cunningham for that Raiders game. Remember much was made of
- 29:53Speaker 3: the three year contract, which is standard entry level contract.
- 29:58Speaker 3: But beside the point, yeah, and started for three so
- 30:01Speaker 3: he could conceivably be elevated to the practice squad this
- 30:04Speaker 3: time around three times if they chose to do it.
- 30:08Speaker 3: And that was the only thing I was wondering about,
- 30:09Speaker 3: is do you have any limit on the amount of
- 30:13Speaker 3: different individuals that can be used for elevations. Three times
- 30:16Speaker 3: you can use I don't think as many as you want, right, Yeah, yep,
- 30:20Speaker 3: I know.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I mean Connor McDermott is now promoted. He was three
- 30:22Speaker 4: timer months and is that three times he's been sitting there.
- 30:26Speaker 5: Everybody else from the practice squad, not off the top,
- 30:31Speaker 5: has been on.
- 30:31Speaker 3: The has been on the Yeah, so.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Went to three and then they.
- 30:37Speaker 5: Yeah, they're gonna have to elevate a quarterback obviously, so
- 30:41Speaker 5: it'll be interesting to see, you know which one is.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Well, I mean they don't have to.
- 30:46Speaker 5: Well, Mac dresses at the backup, right, Yeah. I would
- 30:49Speaker 5: expect them to elevate a quarterback.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I would too, but cunning him over, that's that's the question.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I I you wonder if they set
- 30:57Speaker 3: it up exactly like they did net Raiders game, like
- 30:59Speaker 3: we're gonna have Cunning him as the backup so we
- 31:02Speaker 3: can use him and then Greer is the emergency, or
- 31:05Speaker 3: you could just have all three of them dressed.
- 31:07Speaker 4: I mean, what about what about targeting the Chargers run
- 31:10Speaker 4: game a little bit with some Elik plays part of it.
- 31:13Speaker 5: If you're gonna if Malik is active and is the
- 31:17Speaker 5: one that's promoted, then it has to be with a
- 31:20Speaker 5: package of plays in mind to use him. It would
- 31:23Speaker 5: make no sense to have him be the active just
- 31:25Speaker 5: as the backup quarterback because he's not fully ready to.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Playcat, you know, like get him out there.
- 31:32Speaker 3: That's all. Yeah, I agree with Evan. I think that's
- 31:34Speaker 3: all it could be.
- 31:34Speaker 5: Right, So if you need a That's why the Raider
- 31:38Speaker 5: game was so ridiculous.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Because something happened to Mac, you would.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Have screwed right.
- 31:41Speaker 5: And Mike on Winn was was there, was active on
- 31:45Speaker 5: an emergency basis and and didn't play a single snap
- 31:48Speaker 5: in the game and just in in Vegas and just
- 31:50Speaker 5: stood there the whole time, and they left themselves in
- 31:53Speaker 5: a pinch at quarterback.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it was. What was your first question, Patty?
- 31:59Speaker 8: Just what do you think the issue with Belichick is
- 32:01Speaker 8: at this point with not naming a starting quarterbacks because
- 32:04Speaker 8: he's not really throwing anyone under the bus.
- 32:06Speaker 3: And I mean, yeah, I think you know, I don't know,
- 32:10Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like he there is precedent for him
- 32:15Speaker 1: doing that, you know, Cam Newton, you know.
- 32:20Speaker 3: I would say this is unprecedented. What are you doing?
- 32:22Speaker 1: Well? And and I think what he's telling us is
- 32:25Speaker 1: that Mac Jones has done nothing in my eyes for
- 32:30Speaker 1: me to declare him the guy, and so I'm not
- 32:34Speaker 1: gonna do it, you.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Know, going back to Mac him playing this league, like
- 32:38Speaker 4: I feel like he's been playing this game a little bit.
- 32:40Speaker 1: More than he's done nothing in my eyes to you know.
- 32:45Speaker 1: So then they anoint him the quarterback.
- 32:48Speaker 3: So because none of the quarterbacks have done enough in
- 32:50Speaker 3: his eyes to be naming him the starting quarterback, He's
- 32:52Speaker 3: just gonna throw a dart at the wall on Sunday
- 32:55Speaker 3: and whoever lands on is the starter.
- 32:57Speaker 1: No, that's not that's the point.
- 32:58Speaker 3: But people just ask him who's starting on Sunday? Right,
- 33:00Speaker 3: But no one's asking him. You know, Bill, you got
- 33:03Speaker 3: to make a commitment now for the next five years.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Who's your starter? I get that. Well, maybe Sunday someone's
- 33:08Speaker 3: got to start, I know, But I won't he tell.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Anybody because maybe he wants Matt to be always be
- 33:12Speaker 1: under that pressure that listen, you screw up on Friday
- 33:16Speaker 1: and you may not play on Sunday. You know, I
- 33:19Speaker 1: don't know.
- 33:19Speaker 3: That's as good a reason is. I don't have a
- 33:21Speaker 3: single reason, not as good as anything reason is.
- 33:25Speaker 5: So Brandon Staley did his press conference yesterday and Staley
- 33:30Speaker 5: said that they're preparing for all three quarterbacks like they
- 33:33Speaker 5: could start in the game because they don't know who
- 33:35Speaker 5: the starter is going to be. I truly think that
- 33:38Speaker 5: he thinks it's a competitive advantage.
- 33:40Speaker 3: I would argue that it takes away your advantage if
- 33:43Speaker 3: you if you name a quarterback he's there is less
- 33:47Speaker 3: likely that the opponent's going to prepare for more than one.
- 33:50Speaker 3: And now if you use more than one, I think
- 33:52Speaker 3: you have a chance. I think the Giants were very
- 33:54Speaker 3: prepared for Bailey Zappy being in that game the other day.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I hear what you're saying because of the way the week.
- 34:00Speaker 5: But when when Brennon Staley said that that they have
- 34:02Speaker 5: to prepare for all three quarterbacks and they're studying all
- 34:04Speaker 5: three quarter I was like, oh, well, now we're never
- 34:06Speaker 5: going to get an answer from Bill because he thinks
- 34:08Speaker 5: that it's a competitive advantage.
- 34:10Speaker 1: What he does think of it. I think every team
- 34:12Speaker 1: looks at the roster and says, what if this guy plays?
- 34:14Speaker 1: What if that guy plays?
- 34:15Speaker 3: Bill says it all the time, right, but you limit.
- 34:17Speaker 1: It like it's like you know, but you you know,
- 34:21Speaker 1: you run a few plays as if that person's in,
- 34:24Speaker 1: but it's limited.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Like so if you really want in all seriousness, like
- 34:28Speaker 3: and I get it, Evan's got it. This is probably
- 34:31Speaker 3: what it is in Bill's mind. But if you really
- 34:33Speaker 3: wanted to get a competitive advantage, right, wouldn't the potential
- 34:39Speaker 3: for the biggest competitive advantage would be to unveil Malie Cunningham.
- 34:44Speaker 3: So wouldn't wouldn't you be better served to just continue
- 34:49Speaker 3: with him on your practice squad, wait thirty more seconds
- 34:53Speaker 3: for Evan and the boys to leave, and then have
- 34:57Speaker 3: him go through the week. So you have this package
- 34:59Speaker 3: of plays, and no one's none the wiser, right, and
- 35:03Speaker 3: all of a sudden you put him out there like
- 35:05Speaker 3: way back when Fred you know, all my all my
- 35:07Speaker 3: references are at least twenty years old in Atlanta, when
- 35:10Speaker 3: Matt Schob couldn't play, and all of a sudden, myke,
- 35:12Speaker 3: I think it was Matt Schob and Michael Vick. No,
- 35:16Speaker 3: all the way around, Michael Vick was hurt, and you're
- 35:18Speaker 3: preparing for Michael Vick the whole day, and then Matt
- 35:20Speaker 3: Schob comes off the bench and throw us to like
- 35:22Speaker 3: three hundred and fifty yards. Remember how up in arms.
- 35:24Speaker 9: He was.
- 35:24Speaker 3: They lied on the injury report and this and that
- 35:27Speaker 3: because we didn't prepare except for he always tells us,
- 35:29Speaker 3: we prepare for everything.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Well, remember in Cleveland, was it Brady they had him
- 35:34Speaker 1: warm up inside? No, it was Bledsoe a blods, was
- 35:37Speaker 1: it Bloodstone?
- 35:38Speaker 3: That was true? Do you ever see that? Let me
- 35:40Speaker 3: say the locker room in there because he had the
- 35:42Speaker 3: finger thing it was what was this? What happened in
- 35:45Speaker 3: ninety In two thousand he had Bledsoe warm up in
- 35:48Speaker 3: Cleveland in the locker room.
- 35:50Speaker 5: Well, he had Malik warm up in the locker room
- 35:52Speaker 5: in Vegan.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Because they didn't want you don't want you know, you know,
- 35:55Speaker 1: around to see.
- 35:56Speaker 3: But because seriously, like if you wanted to have Brandon
- 35:59Speaker 3: Stale league perhaps prepared, right, just prepare for the guy
- 36:04Speaker 3: who's gonna start. But yeah, he's going to start, but
- 36:08Speaker 3: I have this other thing that he's not even gonna
- 36:10Speaker 3: have any ideas coming, right, wouldn't that be a bigger
- 36:12Speaker 3: competitive advantage? Yeah?
- 36:13Speaker 5: And that it goes back to like now there's there's
- 36:17Speaker 5: these reports that Malik Is could play in some capacity, Like.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Why would now the other team prepares for it. They
- 36:23Speaker 3: just prepared for Lamar Jackson last week. Yeah, yeah, oh,
- 36:27Speaker 3: good point, and they shut him down, by the way,
- 36:29Speaker 3: and Malie Cuttingham is just as good as Lamar Jackson.
- 36:32Speaker 3: Oh he broke all his records. And I don't know
- 36:34Speaker 3: if you know in seven.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Years, let's see, Paul writes in Oh No, it's Joe
- 36:42Speaker 1: his email says Paul is signature, says Joe and Walpole.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Nothing like the losing season to bring out the Bozos.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Early draft talk from uninformed callers looking for info that
- 36:53Speaker 1: isn't available yet, insisting on Cunningham as quarterback when it's
- 36:57Speaker 1: been widely reported he's not practicing at quarterback.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Stupid until this week.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Yeah, who are the callers? Have you ever considered going
- 37:04Speaker 1: all email note calls? Most of the callers stink and
- 37:07Speaker 1: are not entertaining. And then he goes down the list.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Give us a couple of good well, he says, Eldridge
- 37:15Speaker 1: Christian with a T, I, A N and sweet kid
- 37:18Speaker 1: get it, they're good, Okay, just because ald wide receivers.
- 37:21Speaker 1: And then big big and again our loyal listeners. This
- 37:26Speaker 1: is Joe and Walpole saying it. Bozo's like Todd Christian
- 37:29Speaker 1: in La Willem and Philip can pound san them and others.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I would pay a premium to never hear again. Wow,
- 37:36Speaker 1: hard words, Joe, that's rude emailer on caller crime.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Yes, the emailers are more uh more astute.
- 37:44Speaker 5: Well, the emailers have time to write out an email
- 37:46Speaker 5: like it's like I.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Still can't read it. It's not really in English most
- 37:49Speaker 3: of the time.
- 37:50Speaker 5: It's like a text in a phone call.
- 37:51Speaker 1: You know. That's why people like text Zeke and Chelmsford.
- 37:56Speaker 1: I have this weird feeling that we're going to be
- 37:58Speaker 1: extremely let down the response to this season. I can't
- 38:01Speaker 1: shake this thought that we are going to keep Bill
- 38:03Speaker 1: and he's gonna sell Craft on the biggest issue being
- 38:06Speaker 1: the quarterback position, and he's gonna bring in I hate
- 38:09Speaker 1: to even bring up his name again, Jimmy g in
- 38:12Speaker 1: the wake of the changes in Vegas. Please God no,
- 38:14Speaker 1: but I find this to be a realistic and unsettling outcome.
- 38:18Speaker 5: So let's play this out. Because I agree to an
- 38:22Speaker 5: extent that we should probably be more prepared for the
- 38:25Speaker 5: fact that Bill could talk his way back into another season.
- 38:30Speaker 5: I yep, if you were told if Bill you're Robert
- 38:35Speaker 5: Craft and Bill sits you down and says Robert, the
- 38:39Speaker 5: quarterback was the biggest issue with the team this year.
- 38:42Speaker 5: We're going to replace the quarterback. And he actually puts together,
- 38:45Speaker 5: like puts in front of you a good plan of
- 38:48Speaker 5: replacing said quarterback in terms of the games individually. Is
- 38:54Speaker 5: he all that wrong that the quarterback's been the biggest problem,
- 38:57Speaker 5: like just in terms of the games? How they've all
- 39:00Speaker 5: unfolded now? But we all agree with like the philosophical
- 39:04Speaker 5: stuff up top, that the roster hasn't been good. The
- 39:08Speaker 5: philosophy of winning games thirteen to ten isn't good. But
- 39:11Speaker 5: in Bill's mind, I one hundred percent agree that he
- 39:13Speaker 5: thinks a quarterback is the reason why they're losing ball security.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, if they if they have.
- 39:19Speaker 3: I have no doubt that that's what he thinks. Oh
- 39:21Speaker 3: yeah yeah, So.
- 39:22Speaker 1: I'm putting them in a position to play to win
- 39:25Speaker 1: and the quarterback is screwing it.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Up ball security. He looks at bounce of a ball.
- 39:30Speaker 1: The game.
- 39:31Speaker 5: The game in Germany is a W if he hits
- 39:33Speaker 5: Micah Sicki for the game winning touchdown. The game last
- 39:36Speaker 5: week is a W because they only gave up ten points.
- 39:39Speaker 5: The game against the Eagles is a win. Because they
- 39:41Speaker 5: score at the you know, like he's going to convince
- 39:44Speaker 5: himself of that, and I think he already has and
- 39:46Speaker 5: I'm not rolling out that he convinces ownership of that.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 3: So it's funny when I was on my show yesterday,
- 39:53Speaker 3: Fred and I'm driving, you know, I drive home, I
- 39:56Speaker 3: get home, of course, you know it's an hour on.
- 40:00Speaker 3: So you do the thing that you should never do.
- 40:03Speaker 3: You go on Twitter and one guy I didn't. It
- 40:06Speaker 3: was just one person in fairness, and it was like,
- 40:09Speaker 3: are you guys going to be ready to offer a
- 40:12Speaker 3: written apology for openly wondering where Bill might coach next year?
- 40:19Speaker 3: And I started thinking, it's my opinion that Bill's not
- 40:23Speaker 3: going to be back in New England next year. And
- 40:25Speaker 3: my reason for that opinion has as much to do
- 40:27Speaker 3: with I don't think Bill really wants to stay as
- 40:30Speaker 3: anything else. But if I'm wrong, which I have been
- 40:34Speaker 3: many many times over the span of twenty five years,
- 40:37Speaker 3: why do I have to apologize for thinking that he's
- 40:39Speaker 3: not going to be an opinion? Like I don't really
- 40:43Speaker 3: understand that, like what this person thinking is going to happen?
- 40:48Speaker 3: He thinks Bill staying.
- 40:49Speaker 1: It's not written apology.
- 40:54Speaker 3: It's kind of like it's much ado about nothing. I
- 40:56Speaker 3: can't believe you clowns are even talking about this, that's
- 40:59Speaker 3: the way it's.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 5: I was told that I needed to apologize for selling
- 41:04Speaker 5: people on mac Jones, that it's my.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Fault that matter.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Well I agree with that.
- 41:08Speaker 5: So here here's my mia kulpa to all those people.
- 41:12Speaker 5: I'm sorry that I told you last year that I
- 41:14Speaker 5: didn't think mac Jones is the problem.
- 41:16Speaker 1: When I remember saying in year one, I'm very happy
- 41:19Speaker 1: that he's our quarterback. And I said it at the
- 41:22Speaker 1: time and I meant it.
- 41:22Speaker 3: I mean, I think even I would have said I
- 41:24Speaker 3: think he had a solid rookie year. Yeah, you know,
- 41:26Speaker 3: and I have been probably as anti in that regard
- 41:29Speaker 3: as anybody. But you know, when you talk about Bill
- 41:32Speaker 3: sort of selling Robert on the on the note like
- 41:34Speaker 3: you know, it's a quarterback and it'd be it's gonna
- 41:37Speaker 3: be really interesting, like all those people. And this is
- 41:39Speaker 3: not directed at you, because you have not been like
- 41:41Speaker 3: this with mac Jones, but there have been a lot
- 41:44Speaker 3: of our colleagues that have that still do it. Somebody
- 41:48Speaker 3: did it today and I again I would blame them
- 41:50Speaker 3: if I could remember, but I have cte. Someone was
- 41:53Speaker 3: like the highlights of like the Dallas game.
- 41:57Speaker 4: His rookie year, oh yeah yeah.
- 41:59Speaker 3: And comparing it to the Dallas game this year, It's
- 42:01Speaker 3: amazing how they broke him this fast. I'm just like,
- 42:03Speaker 3: can we just stop with the they broke him?
- 42:06Speaker 1: Like?
- 42:06Speaker 3: I understand that the Patriots and Bill Belichick specifically didn't
- 42:10Speaker 3: do everything right. I understand that they share responsibility for
- 42:13Speaker 3: the situation that the Patriots are in, But can we
- 42:16Speaker 3: just say that the guy didn't play well without every
- 42:20Speaker 3: single qualifier that goes along with it. But so that's
- 42:24Speaker 3: gonna be funny if all of a sudden Bill gets
- 42:26Speaker 3: to stay and all of these people are gonna have
- 42:28Speaker 3: to embrace another quarterback because you guys have been telling
- 42:31Speaker 3: me it's all Bill's fault for two years, and now
- 42:33Speaker 3: you're gonna have to embrace another quarterback.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Came right back.
- 42:40Speaker 3: We talked about he came right back and should have
- 42:41Speaker 3: thrown another one, but the guy misjudged it.
- 42:44Speaker 1: We talk about the nature of these games, how many
- 42:46Speaker 1: What would the Patriots record be this year if a
- 42:48Speaker 1: what forty seven year old Tom Brady was quarterbacking?
- 42:52Speaker 10: Oh see, but but that that that's My point, right
- 42:58Speaker 10: is that, like I think he really feels like if
- 43:01Speaker 10: he just had a guy that was managing games and
- 43:04Speaker 10: wasn't turning the ball over like crazy and was making
- 43:07Speaker 10: the most of the opportunities that they that O'Brien and
- 43:10Speaker 10: every you know, were presenting to themselves, that they that
- 43:13Speaker 10: they would be a playoff team, that they would be
- 43:14Speaker 10: right there, and I there's not.
- 43:19Speaker 5: It's not completely illogical.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not. No, But again, you're coaching, you're trying,
- 43:26Speaker 1: you're building and coaching a team that is living on
- 43:29Speaker 1: the edge like that, like the slightest mistake you can't win.
- 43:32Speaker 5: That would be my point. Yeah, And that That's where
- 43:35Speaker 5: I'm coming from with it. I just think that to
- 43:38Speaker 5: Paul's you know, they broke him. They mentally he is
- 43:42Speaker 5: broken and and they have to own up for their
- 43:45Speaker 5: share of that. But I think ultimately what the biggest
- 43:48Speaker 5: thing is is that they knew who they drafted, or
- 43:52Speaker 5: they should have known who they drafted when they drafted
- 43:54Speaker 5: mac Jones. He was not good enough when they drafted
- 43:58Speaker 5: him to be somebody that was el of the offense
- 44:01Speaker 5: to an offense that was going to be good enough
- 44:03Speaker 5: to win in the playoffs. Or make the playoffs even
- 44:06Speaker 5: and they never upgraded the pieces around him to mimic
- 44:10Speaker 5: that they they operated with the pieces around him like
- 44:13Speaker 5: he was Tom Brady. You know, we'll get you. We'll
- 44:16Speaker 5: get you a second round receiver. We'll get you, you know,
- 44:19Speaker 5: a discount and free agency receiver, Kendrick Bourne, you know
- 44:22Speaker 5: those types of players. When they drafted Mac Jones, the
- 44:25Speaker 5: plan should have been, we're going to be the team
- 44:27Speaker 5: that trades for aj Brown, or we're going to be
- 44:29Speaker 5: the team that trades for Tyree Killen, We're going to
- 44:31Speaker 5: be the team that drafts a receiver in the top
- 44:34Speaker 5: twenty and all these different things. And instead they they
- 44:37Speaker 5: went dollar store shopping at it and thought that the
- 44:41Speaker 5: quarterback was gonna make it all better, and they didn't
- 44:43Speaker 5: draft that guy.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Travis in West Virginia says, I bought the game
- 44:48Speaker 1: day poster for the Germany game, but it wasn't signed
- 44:50Speaker 1: or numbered and there was no certificate of authenticity. Is
- 44:53Speaker 1: that normal for that one?
- 44:55Speaker 9: It was?
- 44:56Speaker 1: It was a German artist. We couldn't arrange for him
- 44:59Speaker 1: to be in frank for he was in Berlin, and
- 45:02Speaker 1: so you paid less for that one. I'm guessing I
- 45:05Speaker 1: know you did, and it wasn't signed in number, so
- 45:08Speaker 1: that was okay. You got what you were supposed to get.
- 45:10Speaker 4: It's really good one. I like that one.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Also, I wanted to give a shout out to
- 45:15Speaker 1: Pat n Agawam. He brings so much energy this show.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Not he didn't really say yes he did. It's right here?
- 45:23Speaker 1: What's the rest? Says? I love listener on listener crimes,
- 45:29Speaker 1: I do too little of it these days, so I
- 45:32Speaker 1: was distraught that Joan Walpole didn't include me on either
- 45:35Speaker 1: as good or bad list. I must be injured or
- 45:38Speaker 1: total non irrelevance.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Screw you. You don't want to be irrelevant.
- 45:42Speaker 1: He was just worried about your heart. A little Speed.
- 45:46Speaker 5: Recovery SPI's also turned into an emailer, Yeah he hasn't
- 45:49Speaker 5: you know? He's been emailing.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I've heard span other shows too, which I don't like,
- 45:54Speaker 1: Cheat which I don't like. But Speed's and Recovery they
- 45:57Speaker 1: want to take it easy and let's go back to
- 46:00Speaker 1: the ace ticket outline. Mario is in New Bedford, Hey, Mario.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Hey, how's it going? Fellows?
- 46:06Speaker 1: Are a good caller or a bad caller?
- 46:08Speaker 7: Oh my god? This pressure I'm listening on the phone.
- 46:11Speaker 7: I'm actually a first time.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Caller, okaying first TI, I'm.
- 46:15Speaker 7: A caller, and I'm like Jesus, now I got the
- 46:17Speaker 7: pressure on me. But I actually just wanted a call
- 46:20Speaker 7: to say that, uh, you guys have mede me. I
- 46:22Speaker 7: feel like become more of a past fan. I've been
- 46:24Speaker 7: a lifelong pass fan of a season ticket holder, but
- 46:26Speaker 7: listening to the show. Unfortunately, I just started listening this year.
- 46:29Speaker 7: It's been a rough year, but just the energy you
- 46:31Speaker 7: guys bring day in, day out, I really do appreciate it.
- 46:34Speaker 7: I want to give a shout out to Mike. He
- 46:36Speaker 7: his hands down my favorite person on the panel. I
- 46:38Speaker 7: love you all, but his comedy and humor just gets
- 46:41Speaker 7: me every time. So a shout out plus his wicked answer.
- 46:46Speaker 7: But I just want to ask, what are your expectations
- 46:49Speaker 7: for this upcoming season. I don't want to be the
- 46:51Speaker 7: guy that kind of quit on this year, but I
- 46:54Speaker 7: feel like we all have these big hopes of taking
- 46:55Speaker 7: a QB early, kind of getting a new coach, maybe
- 46:58Speaker 7: even a new GM that won for San France. But
- 47:01Speaker 7: what's a realistic expectation Because I know we've kind of
- 47:03Speaker 7: been rebuilding, but it seems like we're really just starting
- 47:06Speaker 7: fresh this next year.
- 47:09Speaker 4: I got it. Well, it's not, I mean, I think
- 47:11Speaker 4: we're talking about Yes, I mean, it's I think the
- 47:13Speaker 4: realistic thing is it's jiraw Mao. It's him running the show,
- 47:16Speaker 4: and there's not going to be a major overla. You know,
- 47:18Speaker 4: it's Macro is now the GM. I mean, I think
- 47:20Speaker 4: these are the things that if you had to put
- 47:21Speaker 4: money down on it, that's what I would bet on that.
- 47:24Speaker 4: You know, either Billyo's still here, maybe they bring back McDaniels.
- 47:27Speaker 4: I don't know, but that's I mean, I know that's
- 47:29Speaker 4: not what people want to hear. But I think if
- 47:31Speaker 4: you had to predict or put money on it, how
- 47:33Speaker 4: could it not be jiraw Mao as the favorite right now?
- 47:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 47:37Speaker 5: I think that you have to look at it, you know,
- 47:39Speaker 5: from ownership's perspective a little bit, and completely wiping away
- 47:44Speaker 5: the infrastructure here that they've built over the last twenty
- 47:47Speaker 5: twenty five years. It's easy for us to sit here
- 47:50Speaker 5: and say, oh, just blow it all up and fire
- 47:54Speaker 5: everyone and get a whole new front office and get
- 47:56Speaker 5: a whole new coaching staff.
- 47:57Speaker 1: And I think it's.
- 47:58Speaker 5: Really easy to say that, but at the they did
- 48:01Speaker 5: have unprecedented success with the roots of being like this.
- 48:06Speaker 5: I think it's really there's not a lot of organizations,
- 48:09Speaker 5: you know, just thinking about it, that have been successful
- 48:13Speaker 5: for decades, like the you know, teams like the Steelers,
- 48:15Speaker 5: the Cowboys, like they're usually something adjacent to what they
- 48:20Speaker 5: currently had going. And like the Steelers have had what
- 48:22Speaker 5: like four coaches in fifty years or something like that.
- 48:26Speaker 5: So if I'm looking at it from the Patriots perspective,
- 48:30Speaker 5: the most realistic scenario is that it's Gerrodmeo as the
- 48:33Speaker 5: head coach and it's Macro as the general manager, or
- 48:37Speaker 5: maybe it's John Robinson as the general manager and you know,
- 48:41Speaker 5: or John Robinson comes back to beef up Macro's staff,
- 48:44Speaker 5: you know, to have sort of an adult in the room. Yeah,
- 48:48Speaker 5: like those types of people come back and it's the
- 48:52Speaker 5: new Patriot way, but it's still the Patriot Way at
- 48:56Speaker 5: the end of the day.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, thanks for the call, Mario, appreciate it.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Welcome Mike's in Puerto Rico. What's up, Mike, How.
- 49:05Speaker 11: Are you doing today?
- 49:06Speaker 1: Okay?
- 49:07Speaker 4: Fine?
- 49:08Speaker 11: What was my name on that list?
- 49:09Speaker 4: Fred?
- 49:10Speaker 1: Not yet?
- 49:10Speaker 3: No, but you're another one. To me irrelevant category.
- 49:14Speaker 1: It's still time.
- 49:17Speaker 3: It's not my list though, Mike, It's not my list.
- 49:21Speaker 11: Okay, Hey, thanks, Paul, appreciate it. I so I wanted
- 49:30Speaker 11: to do you actually touch on something that I wanted
- 49:33Speaker 11: to throw out there, Fred, So, considering that the defense
- 49:37Speaker 11: phase the way it was, you know, Judan got hurt,
- 49:40Speaker 11: Gonzalez got hurt, so on, and fourth, if we would
- 49:45Speaker 11: have gone a different way in the offense, and let's
- 49:48Speaker 11: say that, for example, we actually uh Jacoby Meyer, Stade
- 49:54Speaker 11: Hopkins was signed, and we drafted Dewan Jones at left tackle,
- 50:01Speaker 11: and for a kicker, we actually brought in Baker Mayfield
- 50:05Speaker 11: for a competition and he was our starter. What would
- 50:09Speaker 11: have been our floor as far as wins with those
- 50:13Speaker 11: things taken into consideration.
- 50:17Speaker 4: The board.
- 50:18Speaker 3: But you know what, you know what I like about
- 50:20Speaker 3: that though, Like that's all very rational, reasonable stuff. It's
- 50:24Speaker 3: not like what if they had taken Patrick Mahomes instead
- 50:27Speaker 3: of you know, no, this is things that were.
- 50:29Speaker 1: All I'd say, would have been seven games floor floor floor. Yeah,
- 50:34Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I don't think that, but
- 50:37Speaker 1: I think I think you could have won eleven.
- 50:39Speaker 3: I now, I just I just I know what, I
- 50:46Speaker 3: know when he gaslights me. But I just want to
- 50:50Speaker 3: make sure I had it all straight. So it was like.
- 50:52Speaker 5: It was Hopkins and Jacobe with Baker Mayfield.
- 50:57Speaker 3: But I missed, I missed, Yes, I missed, I miss
- 51:00Speaker 3: I miss The mac Jones is not part of this, right, Okay.
- 51:03Speaker 4: I think the one Jones is the right tackle.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, let's.
- 51:05Speaker 1: Pump the brakes on Jones.
- 51:08Speaker 3: But I'm just saying you had a tackle. So you
- 51:09Speaker 3: didn't go four or five games without a tackle, like.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Like you did? I think seven? What did I say?
- 51:15Speaker 3: I think seven is the ceiling.
- 51:16Speaker 4: Seven is the ceiling?
- 51:18Speaker 3: Yeah, like right, no, no, not for the season, fred,
- 51:21Speaker 3: like like so you'd be seven and four?
- 51:24Speaker 1: Oh right now? Yeah, oh okay, I'm I just.
- 51:27Speaker 4: Think Philly Miami, those are talented teams. Maybe you get
- 51:30Speaker 4: one of the Miami games.
- 51:30Speaker 3: I mean, I think you win the last two games
- 51:33Speaker 3: without question. I think you might have been able to
- 51:36Speaker 3: beat anyway. I think you might have been able to
- 51:38Speaker 3: beat the Raiders. Yeah, so yeah, I think Cowboys.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Oh god man.
- 51:43Speaker 4: But like the Saints game. I almost look at that
- 51:45Speaker 4: one as that's a game even like got blown out.
- 51:47Speaker 4: Like I think that that game was as much about
- 51:48Speaker 4: like this team's just it's snowballing on them. A different team.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Now, I don't win that game. I don't think Baker
- 51:53Speaker 3: Mayfield represents a huge thanks. I just don't. And I
- 51:56Speaker 3: know that other people think that he has. But he's
- 51:58Speaker 3: also lost six out of his last in games. People
- 52:01Speaker 3: have overlooked that somehow. I don't know why, because it's
- 52:06Speaker 3: winning and and and they play but lost, and they
- 52:11Speaker 3: play in the worst division in football.
- 52:13Speaker 5: I understand the I think, like what you said about,
- 52:18Speaker 5: you know, the Cowboys game, the Saints game, snowballing and
- 52:21Speaker 5: things like That's that was my whole thing with with
- 52:24Speaker 5: DeAndre Hopkins is like DeAndre Hopkins is here from day
- 52:27Speaker 5: one of training camp.
- 52:28Speaker 1: The whole thing is different. You can't, you know, you.
- 52:32Speaker 5: Can't just look at it and say, okay, well, let's
- 52:34Speaker 5: drop DeAndre Hopkins in.
- 52:35Speaker 1: Now.
- 52:36Speaker 5: It's like the whole the whole camp is different, Like
- 52:38Speaker 5: the whole attitude of the team is different. And the
- 52:41Speaker 5: callers point if it's Jacoby and it's DeAndre Hopkins.
- 52:45Speaker 3: With a with a legitimate tackle. I think that was
- 52:48Speaker 3: part of it too, And that's why I said that's
- 52:50Speaker 3: all rational, Like.
- 52:51Speaker 1: It's not like it's rational, and it's all could have happened.
- 52:55Speaker 3: And I think, you know, like, did you see people
- 52:57Speaker 3: making the rounds today? They picked ja they picked Kyler
- 53:01Speaker 3: Kyle Dugger instead of Jalen Hurts. Well, Jalen Hurts wasn't
- 53:04Speaker 3: really on the table for them, right, They weren't even
- 53:07Speaker 3: thinking about it at the time. Now you can make
- 53:08Speaker 3: an argument they should have been sure, But like.
- 53:11Speaker 1: But all those things could have happened. And if they did,
- 53:14Speaker 1: because we live in the moment, would be would we
- 53:17Speaker 1: not be talking about Bill? This might be his last
- 53:20Speaker 1: year because he made some.
- 53:22Speaker 3: Really good depending, But it depends on what the record was. Well, yeah,
- 53:25Speaker 3: but they were two and nine with all that seven
- 53:27Speaker 3: and four, Yeah, I think there's a chance that that
- 53:29Speaker 3: would I would say, was the ceiling.
- 53:31Speaker 4: Yeah, But I feel like you need to unravel it
- 53:32Speaker 4: a little bit more, and like, how do we get
- 53:34Speaker 4: to this point? Did they never draft mac Jones or
- 53:36Speaker 4: did he move on for mac Jones in twenty twenty
- 53:38Speaker 4: two after last season? And now he's rejiggered things again
- 53:41Speaker 4: and they get they bounced back, maybe it would maybe
- 53:44Speaker 4: it would buy him.
- 53:46Speaker 1: But he brought in Baker to be the backup, but
- 53:48Speaker 1: then Baker became the star.
- 53:51Speaker 5: So I think with Mac a lot of what you know,
- 53:53Speaker 5: you're talking to people in the locker room and stuff,
- 53:56Speaker 5: it's his confidence is shot. And I feel like if
- 54:00Speaker 5: you had had these pieces that the caller is talking about,
- 54:03Speaker 5: may never have gotten it might not have gotten to
- 54:05Speaker 5: this point, and.
- 54:06Speaker 4: That might be the most interesting question. And he lost
- 54:08Speaker 4: the job if he had.
- 54:10Speaker 5: Is his confidence being shot meaning and that he's not
- 54:13Speaker 5: trusting that guys are going to get open and that
- 54:16Speaker 5: the players are going to be run properly and he's
- 54:18Speaker 5: not trusting in the system right now, and so he's
- 54:21Speaker 5: spiraling because but the point the point.
- 54:24Speaker 1: There, and you know, you know, kudos to Mike. It
- 54:28Speaker 1: was well thought up because all those things are viable, right.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Well, they were in line. The DeAndre Hopkins, he was here,
- 54:34Speaker 3: they visited, they talked to him, they didn't sign him.
- 54:36Speaker 3: They were they easily could have stuck with Myers over
- 54:39Speaker 3: signing Juju, and they easily could have taken a tackle
- 54:42Speaker 3: in the draft, which we all thought they were going to,
- 54:46Speaker 3: right So those three things, to me were very realistic.
- 54:51Speaker 3: The quarterback that's different. I don't know, if you want
- 54:53Speaker 3: to bring.
- 54:54Speaker 1: But even if even if you take Baker out of
- 54:56Speaker 1: the equation, how much better would all right with Paula?
- 55:01Speaker 3: But if someone else is playing quarterback for those games,
- 55:03Speaker 3: I think the ceiling would be higher. Nick, and I said,
- 55:06Speaker 3: I think if Zappi played the last two games, I
- 55:08Speaker 3: think you would have won.
- 55:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Nick and Omaha, thanks for everything you do. You
- 55:12Speaker 1: always give me good things to think about and help
- 55:14Speaker 1: me understand the game more as they watch on Sundays.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Question Uh, for layman listeners like myself, I would love
- 55:20Speaker 1: each of your thoughts. When we talk about the Patriots
- 55:23Speaker 1: failure in drafting, are we talking about a failure to
- 55:26Speaker 1: make good picks or failure to develop those good picks?
- 55:29Speaker 1: If it's the latter, specifically, how does that happen in
- 55:32Speaker 1: the NFL?
- 55:34Speaker 5: I'd probably I'm always bad at for I would the former.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Bad picks or are they taking guys and they're not
- 55:41Speaker 3: developing them.
- 55:42Speaker 4: I mean, I think it's a little of both, but
- 55:43Speaker 4: I would lean former. I would say it's the bad picks.
- 55:45Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think, you know, I don't think
- 55:48Speaker 4: development was going to save Nikhil Harry or Cold Strange or.
- 55:51Speaker 3: I think it's a little of both, but I agree
- 55:53Speaker 3: with you, I would I would lean toward the drafting.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Maybe development, maybe developing that maybe I.
- 55:59Speaker 3: Think that's another both. But you know where I would
- 56:02Speaker 3: have taken him in the second round.
- 56:03Speaker 5: I think that I'm with with Mike in terms of
- 56:08Speaker 5: probably more toward bad pick. But I think the main
- 56:11Speaker 5: reason is well, one like with Cole Strange, just like
- 56:15Speaker 5: going off the board is just sam with Nikhil Harry,
- 56:18Speaker 5: I guess you could say that too, just just going
- 56:22Speaker 5: off the board is just what are we doing. I
- 56:25Speaker 5: think the other thing is, though development you have to
- 56:29Speaker 5: take into taking consideration playing time and opportunity. And I
- 56:33Speaker 5: think a lot of the times what happened with these
- 56:35Speaker 5: recent draft picks is that guys are being drafted and
- 56:38Speaker 5: they're they just sit behind veteran players. And even this
- 56:43Speaker 5: class now like now Keon White is starting to play
- 56:46Speaker 5: a little bit, but he was drafted behind Judon, behind
- 56:51Speaker 5: uh josh U j behind Anthony Jennings, and he was
- 56:53Speaker 5: really drafted for next year. And I think a lot
- 56:57Speaker 5: of the times with these high draft picks, you know,
- 56:59Speaker 5: I don't know if Jewan Williams ever would have been good,
- 57:01Speaker 5: Probably not. But Juwan Williams sat and sat and sat and.
- 57:07Speaker 1: And maybe it was just because he was awful.
- 57:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but I would argue with those guys that they
- 57:12Speaker 3: had plenty of undrafted guys that didn't sit, you know,
- 57:15Speaker 3: like Miles Bryant, you know, around the same time. So
- 57:18Speaker 3: the Duke Dawson's and the Jewan Williams would probably be
- 57:20Speaker 3: bad picks. But like to you a point, I love
- 57:23Speaker 3: your your example of Keon White, like and then you're like,
- 57:25Speaker 3: so he's behind like Anthony Jennings. I think Anthony Jennings
- 57:28Speaker 3: is one of those guys. Yeah, sat and sad and
- 57:30Speaker 3: then I know he was technically on IR, but like
- 57:34Speaker 3: what was that? What was the injuries? Like I think
- 57:36Speaker 3: he was kind of like Foxborough fluish yep with some
- 57:39Speaker 3: of the injuries. You know, they couldn't find any spot.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Because I think he's a decent enough player. He's a player,
- 57:44Speaker 3: and I wonder if he had played like he does
- 57:46Speaker 3: now maybe in his second year, would he be at
- 57:50Speaker 3: a higher level. And again it's just like the whole
- 57:52Speaker 3: how many wins would they have if it's impossible?
- 57:56Speaker 4: What about p D Strong Strong? I mean, you know
- 58:01Speaker 4: Pete Strong, hang.
- 58:02Speaker 1: On to the ball, Pete Pete the waiter Ryan in Fairfax,
- 58:05Speaker 1: Virginia saw the movie about Napoleon with Joaquin Phoenix, and
- 58:08Speaker 1: during the Russian invasion in Waterloo scenes, I couldn't help
- 58:12Speaker 1: but think of Bill as the cocky old general, stubbornly
- 58:15Speaker 1: set in his ways until he is told to go
- 58:17Speaker 1: into exile. Anyway, I want to let you know that
- 58:19Speaker 1: the team's changing composition over the years has been a benefit,
- 58:22Speaker 1: not a drawback. Andy and especially Eric would have been
- 58:25Speaker 1: insufferable during these lean years. Oh yeah, that had been
- 58:29Speaker 1: tough to do. Eric would be I think, I mean,
- 58:31Speaker 1: Eric thought the window was closing in twenty fourteen, So
- 58:34Speaker 1: can you imagine, And I'm serious.
- 58:36Speaker 4: Eric will probably just sit here on the show and
- 58:38Speaker 4: read his book Windows Close.
- 58:41Speaker 3: Eric, I think after they lost the eleven one and
- 58:44Speaker 3: then like twelve and thirteen.
- 58:46Speaker 1: They were like windows he had never been part of.
- 58:49Speaker 3: I think he felt like the window was closed.
- 58:50Speaker 1: And then Andy would have been insufferable during these But
- 58:55Speaker 1: think about it, I think we'd all agree that's the
- 58:58Speaker 1: only thing. Like, I wouldn't be arguing with him, but
- 59:02Speaker 1: I would just be telling him, you don't have to
- 59:03Speaker 1: be so mean, right, mean, you guys I.
- 59:06Speaker 3: Got another, I got another text. You don't argue with friend.
- 59:11Speaker 4: Well that's a question for you guys, is do you
- 59:12Speaker 4: find it I mean specifically Paul, like, do you find
- 59:15Speaker 4: it harder to have disagreements when everybody just is like
- 59:17Speaker 4: they stink? Like you know, like when they're really good,
- 59:19Speaker 4: you're just kind of splitting hairs and like, yeah, but
- 59:21Speaker 4: that guy and you could really fight about but ultimately,
- 59:25Speaker 4: like you said there used to make a joke.
- 59:27Speaker 3: One hundred years ago when I used to do the
- 59:28Speaker 3: Big Show, Humble Brag. I would go in and I
- 59:32Speaker 3: would tell Fred all the time. I would drive in
- 59:34Speaker 3: and I would say, well, it's gonna be glen Wood Way,
- 59:38Speaker 3: it's gonna be Pete Shepherd, and then you know, it
- 59:41Speaker 3: might be Steve Deossi, it might be Fred Smerless, you
- 59:44Speaker 3: know whoever, Like, do I go in and get the
- 59:46Speaker 3: crap kicked out of me by saying like I don't know,
- 59:49Speaker 3: like I don't know if the secondary is up to
- 59:51Speaker 3: speed or do I just go along to get along
- 59:53Speaker 3: for four hours and get out of there without getting
- 59:55Speaker 3: yelled at? And sometimes I would do one, and sometimes
- 59:58Speaker 3: I would do the other.
- 59:59Speaker 4: And I don't imagine you control it though, like you
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: seem like you get something in your bonnet.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: And I can't remember the seven season, Like can you
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: guys like remember the perfect season now? Like do you
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: remember how like there was like a clear decline yep,
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: like starting in like December.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Yeah, oh yeah. Games were getting tougher.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: And my feeling was always that this defense is just
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: okay yep. That offense pounds everybody into submission, and the
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: defense has the easiest job in the world to do.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: You know, I'm going to have a three score lead
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: by the middle of the second quarter, and all I
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: gotta do is pin my years back and Mike Rabel's
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: gonna get twelve and a half SATs. We're going to
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: cause all kinds of problems. And then all of a
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: sudden when the offense wasn't This is what I would
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: go in and I would talk about, like I don't know,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: like if you get a good team, a team that
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: can throw a little bit, I would worry about it.
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: And I remember the first playoff game, Jacksonville not a
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: great team. They went toe to toe with them and
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: they had to kick a couple of field goals and
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: that finally allowed the separation. I think They ended up
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: winning that game by like a I think it was
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: like thirty one to twenty or something like that, but
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: it was, you know, the difference in the game was
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: football math. The Jags had to kick kick a couple
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: of field goals and the Patriots got touchdowns and that
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: was the difference. And again it's like you're out of
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: your mind. You're out of your mind, you know, And
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: it's twenty one points the next week against the Chargers,
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: and I'm like, it's right there for you to see this.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: There's problems here. And I was getting yelled at and
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: yelled at.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: I remember the Jets and the Dolphins games in December
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: because I was at the Pittsburgh game and they you know.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: That's was like twenty to three or something like that.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I think it started with the Green Bay games. It
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: got a little closer.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: I think I don't think he played Green Bay for.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: It was an out of conference game.
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Eagles, Eagles, Fey lit them up. I remember thirty one
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: twenty eight had a pick in the end zone to
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: win the game.
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: The Buffalo game, Buffalo stunk, right, they were they destroyed. Yeah,
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: And then I was I remember Moss had like three
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: tds or something.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: Like that, and that was the game they flexed to
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: a night game. Yeah, it was like fifty two.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Yeah yeah.
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: But when you really looked underneath the surface, like those games,
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: I think are why people thought you were crazy, is
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: my point. You know, anybody, you look underneath the surface,
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: there was more.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: There were some I just kept thinking to myself, what
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: happens if this team and listen, Ultimately you could go
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: when you could say they lost the Super Bowl seventeen fourteen, Paul,
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: how are you blaming the defense? But again, they went
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: on the field with two minutes left and had the lead.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: They couldn't hold it, yep. And I just think that
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: they weren't in that position very often.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: They would have if somebody had caught on an interception
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: and the refor thrown a flag. But anyway, what flag
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: Blown the whistle on the Eli Manning although I think
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: he was still in the ground.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Had a flag blown the whistle?
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Wow, you talk about a controversial call if that play
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: had been blown.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: No, I know, I don't think they could have, but
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Sante Samuel, you had it anyway. I didn't finish Bryan's
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: email about the team's changing composition he said MLB was
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: a positive force in the depressing COVID season. She was great.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: I love Deuce's heel turned from optimism to despair regarding
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Belichick's team building prowess the drafts.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: Nothing like Mike on the draft.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I appreciate eminent Tamara's approach and to these important team
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: questions from the perspective of a hungry or more critical
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: younger generation in a good way. In other words, the
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: dynasty was great, But yesterdo exit stage. And lastly, I'm
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: still advocating for the show to discuss more NFL at
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Large takes. The NFL at Large discussions are the best
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: part of the shows that have always been fascinating.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: Oh okay, Von Miller, Yeah, he got his trouble warrant
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: for his arrest.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: You see that, Von Miller?
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Why domestic for stealing money in his contract semester? Oh
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: really not good? Not good.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: The wheels are full and.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: H Evan has left. He's gone to practice. We will
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: wait to hear his update when he gets back. Can't wait.
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: Better tell Pizza Tyner, hurry up because we got picks.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: Did you tell him I have picks today?
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Matt? Yeah, did you tell Thursday, we got picks.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Your voice cracked it.
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: I don't know. I feel fine. I just have my
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: voice sounds.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: I mean you look wonderful as usual. I mean you
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: do have.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: Those probably have quiet covid.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: He has those movie star looks.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Will in Lancaster, this is a throwback game. By the way,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Patriots will be wearing red. Will says, I have a
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: very random uniform question, since this is throwback week. Do
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: you know if there are any plans to wear the
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: road throwbacks in the future. I feel like those are
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: really clean and underrated. Yeah, I do like the I
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: think the white ones pop. I do like that.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: I wonder why teams don't do that more often, like
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: it together, Like you know, the Miami game, I think
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: would have been a perfect example. And then you know,
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: like vice versa one. We went down to Miami, Miami
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: wore their throwbacks at home. That would have been a
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: perfect chance to do the whites that that they're talking for.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Did you like my answer to the round table? I
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: didn't really, Sorry, I had I had. I think I
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: had a good one.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Okay, can you shure it was?
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: It was not You're gonna have to read it.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: It was on a zoom.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, so you're gonna have to read Mike's round
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: table to get my answer about good teas. Good Teas
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: points to who can guess when they last wore the
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: white throwback? There's anyone does?
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: Nine?
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: Miami and Denver that they weren't twice that year, And
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: I was was that famous for the mining game.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: The last time they wore two thousand and nine?
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: It was? It was it Denver or was it Miami?
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: That was the game that you wanted to fight?
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I didn't want to fight you did. I was very disappointed.
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: Did you see the fist pump after the did that
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: get you triggered already?
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Just during after? Yeah?
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I again cte sets in. I remember those
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: uniforms that they wore that year being old, like sixties uniforms,
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: not the ones that they were for throwbacks.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I think, Paul, I don't think it was the same.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: I don't ever, I don't ever remember were the ones
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: that you were talking.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: They were great face too, they were different.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: Yeah, because remember the the Broncos wore really fun those
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: different with the star striper was.
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: Like Mike des like you should have seen what they
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: wanted to put me in, Like he wasn't having any
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: of it.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: But I I if I recall, those old white uniforms
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: are like from the sixties. I remember they wore those
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: like in the early nineties too, with bled cell So.
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: It was for nine, which I think was like the
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: fiftieth anniversary.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Maybe it wasn't. It wasn't fifty, but it was probably
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: some kind of Oh, it might have been like an
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: a f L A anniversary, right Maybe.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: I think because they were old. They made the bills
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: because they were AFL.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Uniforms, which is not which is not the same as
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: the throwbacks they now. The throwbacks they were now I
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: believe are from like the mid eighties.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: So techn't warn those white versions.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Right because even the white ones they wore for Color
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: Rush on that Thursday night against Tampa. Oh, I don't
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: think those were the same either.
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: It was just white pants with their white jerseys, right, right.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: Something like that. I'd like to see the seventies. I know,
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: I'm a broken record.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: On Tuesday show, we were talking about assistant coaches who
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: were hired from within and became head to ja. Let's
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: see enray K from Monterey, Mexico says some facts. Tomlin
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: was the Vikings defensive coordinator No. Six before getting the
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Steelers job. Right two, talking about if promoting within the
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: organization works, not really. Only five coaches in NFL history
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: have been promoted within the team and won the Super Bowl.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Five is a good number. Nineteen seventy Don McCafferty from
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: the Colts, he was the offensive coordinator.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: Okay, that's a little different, but I will accept.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Seventy six. John Madden was the linebacker coach for the Raiders.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: Oh okay, okay, go ahead.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Eighty nine and eighty nine, eighty three. Tom Flores was
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: the Raiders wide receiver coach.
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: He was the Raiders wide receiver coach when under Madden.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: You know, when Madden retired, he took over. Yes, yeah, okay, except.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Although it's a little confusing here because he says in
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: eighty three he was so did he come back. No,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: you have to be on the team when you're promoted,
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: not like you came back.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: Well, yeah, like, what was he on the staff in
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: seventy nine? Yeah, that was Madden's last year, right, seventy
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: eight or seventy nine, Yeah, I'm not sure. And then
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: Flores was the coach in eighty and in eighty three. Yeah,
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: but I you know, if he came from the Raiders.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Oh maybe he said he won it in eighty ninety,
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: all right, anyway, eighty six, oh yeah, eighty six and
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: ninety Bill Parcells, he was the linebacker.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Someone brought up Parcels, and that is that's accurate, the
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: linebacker defensive coordinator when he took over for Ray Perkins.
- 1:08:55Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: And then in Seaft won in in eighty nine and
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: ninety four with the forty nine ers.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: He was the and that was also brought up that one. Yep,
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: So I would argue, but I would argue that Seaford
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: was not a good coach. He inherited a great team
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: and won one with him, but he was not a
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: good coach. Then he went to Carolina and it was
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: a disaster.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: All right, So it's not impossible.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: But Tom Flories was a good coach.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh wow.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: Foods here excellent?
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: All right, So food is here. We need to get
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: to that because we need to get to the halftime
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: show where we're going to give away the game day
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: poster and they're going to talk about the cleats. All right,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: we'll be right back.

- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Hello, everyone, okay to be here.
- 1:10:34Speaker 13: So before we get started, Christy, you don't know this works,
- 1:10:36Speaker 13: but we get started with some trivia, so I'm gonna answer.
- 1:10:38Speaker 13: I'm gonna put the questions dow uh listeners right in
- 1:10:41Speaker 13: the web radio Patriots dot com. Christin, don't answer these
- 1:10:44Speaker 13: even though you know you helped create these questions. We
- 1:10:47Speaker 13: gotta charges trivia coming off Chargers game week?
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: All right? Question one?
- 1:10:51Speaker 13: The Patriots are currently on a blank game winning streak
- 1:10:55Speaker 13: against the Chargers.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: Question one?
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Question two?
- 1:10:59Speaker 13: The Paytriots and the Chargers have met forty four times,
- 1:11:02Speaker 13: including regular and postseason. How many times have the Pats
- 1:11:05Speaker 13: shut out the Chargers?
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: In question three?
- 1:11:09Speaker 13: The first matchup between the Patriots and Chargers took place
- 1:11:11Speaker 13: in October of nineteen sixty. The Patriots shut out the Chargers,
- 1:11:15Speaker 13: scoring how many points? All right, and guys, this is
- 1:11:18Speaker 13: gonna be for a game day poster.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Guys.
- 1:11:22Speaker 13: Teams not doing hot, but the posters are hot, so
- 1:11:24Speaker 13: make sure to get them. They're on Patriots dot Com,
- 1:11:27Speaker 13: which has linked to all the artists all that stuff.
- 1:11:29Speaker 13: But today we're gonna be talking about My Cause.
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: My Cleats.
- 1:11:34Speaker 13: So the NFL has been doing My Cause, My Cleats
- 1:11:37Speaker 13: for a couple of years now, and pretty much players
- 1:11:40Speaker 13: get to rep custom cleats that go to a nonprofit
- 1:11:43Speaker 13: or charity of their choice. And the Pat's been doing
- 1:11:46Speaker 13: this for a couple of years, but they had a
- 1:11:48Speaker 13: cool opportunity extended it to employees and Kristen and I
- 1:11:53Speaker 13: and some others were lucky enough to be selected. And
- 1:11:56Speaker 13: so we got some White Air Force ones and sent
- 1:11:58Speaker 13: them in for the artists to do their thing. And
- 1:12:01Speaker 13: Christ you want to talk about your shoe.
- 1:12:02Speaker 9: Sure, Well I'll start off by saying I'm not the
- 1:12:05Speaker 9: most artistically talented, so I had to be guided through
- 1:12:08Speaker 9: by the artists. So shout out to him for helping
- 1:12:10Speaker 9: us out with this. But yeah, So the cause I
- 1:12:13Speaker 9: chose is Massioneer, which is a hospital just outside of Boston.
- 1:12:17Speaker 9: My family has a really strong connection to there. My
- 1:12:20Speaker 9: younger brother has been treated there his whole life, grew
- 1:12:22Speaker 9: up Patriots fans. So being able to sort of design
- 1:12:24Speaker 9: a clet tied to this and the whole My Cause,
- 1:12:27Speaker 9: My Cleats cause has been awesome. I will say Matisa's
- 1:12:30Speaker 9: shoes look a little drippier than mine.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: I'm not sure about that.
- 1:12:33Speaker 9: How mine came out, design's cool. I used some bright colors,
- 1:12:38Speaker 9: some eyes, some little eye pattern on the swoosh. Shout
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: out Matissa again for inspiring me to put the design there.
- 1:12:44Speaker 9: I wanted to put the eye the bottom of the shoe.
- 1:12:46Speaker 9: The designer said no, thank you. But it was a
- 1:12:49Speaker 9: great opportunity, great cause.
- 1:12:51Speaker 13: And it's cool because I'm pretty sure this guy did
- 1:12:53Speaker 13: some of the players cleats. Yeah, like the company covered
- 1:12:58Speaker 13: all this and christ and shoe looks great. She's she's
- 1:13:01Speaker 13: hyping it down a little. But you know, the swoosh
- 1:13:02Speaker 13: has eyes. You know, maybe maybe we'll have her bring
- 1:13:05Speaker 13: him down for the show and Fred can show him
- 1:13:07Speaker 13: on air. Pretty cool.
- 1:13:08Speaker 9: You can look out for me on game day. I'll
- 1:13:10Speaker 9: be wearing them.
- 1:13:12Speaker 13: Hopefully it doesn't rain, so you know, we don't want
- 1:13:14Speaker 13: to ruin them. All right, I'll get into mine real quick.
- 1:13:17Speaker 13: So mine is for an organization called Project Goal and
- 1:13:21Speaker 13: so years ago, in my college soccer playing day, it
- 1:13:23Speaker 13: seems like a lifetime ago, my team did a training
- 1:13:26Speaker 13: session and pretty much an It's an after school program
- 1:13:28Speaker 13: for middle school and elementary school students, and you know,
- 1:13:31Speaker 13: it uses soccer as an enrichment program. It's like aptchoo
- 1:13:35Speaker 13: program because kids like to play soccer and it makes
- 1:13:37Speaker 13: them want to go to It tries to get them
- 1:13:38Speaker 13: into private schools or just better secondary schools. And one
- 1:13:41Speaker 13: of my good friends, who was a college teammate of mine,
- 1:13:44Speaker 13: was an alumni of this program. And so Chris has
- 1:13:47Speaker 13: said the colors are black, gold, yellow, and so I
- 1:13:50Speaker 13: had a it's cool because the logo is a student
- 1:13:52Speaker 13: kicking the ball and it kind of looks like he's
- 1:13:55Speaker 13: kicking the swoosh which turns into a soccer ball.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Artistic guy. Everyone was named after an artist, you know,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: that's why you gotta do it.
- 1:14:02Speaker 13: I just want to give a shout out real quick,
- 1:14:04Speaker 13: first to the Patriots for allowing the staff to do this.
- 1:14:07Speaker 13: I also we have an article on Patriots dot com
- 1:14:10Speaker 13: and Alex Francisco has been on the show before is
- 1:14:12Speaker 13: doing features on some of the players and employees and
- 1:14:17Speaker 13: their causes. But I just want to go through the
- 1:14:18Speaker 13: staff real quick. We got Ross Andler supporting same here
- 1:14:23Speaker 13: Global Mental Health Movement, Mackenzie Bliss supporting Samaritans, Inc. Chelsea Borty.

- 1:15:39Speaker 4: Here and let's get back to the show.
- 1:15:43Speaker 14: When someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes, oh no,
- 1:15:48Speaker 14: replacements were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery,
- 1:15:52Speaker 14: everyone could focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 1:15:55Speaker 14: now it's next for residential delivery only.
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: And now great moments in.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: History.
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: And neither was anybody saying that Cole Strange can't play.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: But they say he struggled as a rookie and he
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: was overdrafted Paul, and that's a bad pick.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Some people say it's a bust. Yes, it's not a bus.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: Year one was a bust.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: That's not what I just said.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: And you know it, Okay, Well, what do you think
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: is going to happen. I don't think he's gonna end
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: up being like a first round but I think I.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: Think it's just as stupid to say I know he's
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: going to be a pro bowler as I know he's
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: going to be a bust. Same way with Marcus Jones.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: It's not just as stupid to say the second part.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: Because he was a bust in Year one. He wasn't
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: anywhere near.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: A for well, he wasn't a bust.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: He was fred Oh, come on for one year. Like
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: I'm not saying that ends his story as a player.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: I didn't say, you said, but in year one he
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: was in and out of the lineup due to performance.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: And like the emailer said, we knew he was going
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: to struggle.
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: No I didn't. I don't pick first round picks as
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: plug and play guys that I know are going to struggle. Listen, listen,
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: Then it's a bad pick.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: It's not one of the two has to be true. Well,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: we'll know it's a bad pick in a few years,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: but right now, say this.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: Is my whole thing about offensive Lineman. It's not why
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: you can get away with taking offensive lineman because no
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: one will ever call him a bust.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: You just did.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: I will, but no one.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Paul is the only one.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: Now now he's going to completely change the narrative of
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: this argument. Be snarky, make fun of me. Everybody laughs
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: at him, and then we'll just.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: People.
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: Do not declare offensive Lineman as readily bust you as
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: Nikhil Harry.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: You are not on it was Nikhil.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: Harry a bust You are not. It was Nikhil Harry
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: a bust. Okay you was it okay to call him
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: the bust after one year?
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: No? Okay, it was not.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: You're consistent, it's not okay. What do you think he's
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: going to be?
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Who? I think he's going to be a fine NFL player?
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: Okay, I don't.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Okay, that's another great moment from good stuff there.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: Yeah, Jim so once again, and when people ask me,
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: how come you and Fred don't argue anymore? Because Fred
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: knows I'm right.
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: Well, this one thing I've learned working here is that
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: as much as you might not like it, Paul might
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: be right about a lot of things.
- 1:18:09Speaker 9: Well.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: Also, there's not much to argue these days, you know. No, No,
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: I mean the evidence is right there in the record
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: and what you see on Sunday two and nine. So
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: you know, back then, I thought the Patriots are pretty good,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: you know, when they're winning super Bowls, and.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: I would just argue that too good. When I went
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: into these seasons and I said, don't worry about all
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: this small stuff. We just have to worry about what
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: potentially could cause us to not be able to host
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: the AFC Championship Game. No, one used to get mad
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: at me for making these brash, bold, you know, observations
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: and predictions, because I was telling you they're gonna win
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: twelve at thirteen games, They're going to host the AFC
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: Championship Game and have every opportunity to win the Super Bowl,
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: because that's what I thought the talent level indicated. So
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: when the talent level indicates what it does now and
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: I said, well, and I'm still getting it thrown back
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: in my face on my shows. They asked me what
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: the ceiling was and I said, I don't know, seven
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: or eight wins. The look of utter disgust on Mike
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Felger's face when I said.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: That they've actually changed the speed of the Sunshine dot.
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: Com song, Well, you know it's a whole different song, right, Well, it's.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: Lyrics, it's the same tune, same but they've changed the
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: minor key Sunshine.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: I Stay inside Today.
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's actually pretty clever what they wrote.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: Well, Jim Murray is very good at that.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: We had the trivia at the halftime. We gave away
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: the poster.
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: What have we got for trivia questions? Freddy? Here we go.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: The Patriots are currently on a blank game. Winning streak
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: against the Chargers.
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: Well, you guys had this day seven seven.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Is correct, Sam and Maryland got that right, you guys.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: The Patriots and Chargers have met forty four times, including
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: regular and postseason. How many times of the Patriots shut
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: out the Chargers.
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: Once forty three to nothing in twenty.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: Twenty, According to this three times I took a shot,
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: Alex and Raleigh, North Carolina got that.
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: If you say it with confidence, sometimes people will buy it.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: I was surprised when I was ready for you to like,
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: that's wrong.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: No, I have no wrong, absolutely no idea. I just
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: remember we shut them out in the COVID years.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Okay. And finally, the first matchup between the Patriots and
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: the Chargers took place in October of nineteen sixty. The
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: Patriots shut out the Chargers, scoring how many points google it,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: I don't know, twenty eight thirty five. It was so clear,
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: touchdown away. Joel at Hull got that, all right? Joel,
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: So someone has just occupied the empty seat, has turned,
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: has turned?
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: Has turned?
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: All right? Eric? What heavan? I mean? I did it again?
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: It's okay, I did it again, old habitste heart.
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: I would take offense that I don't blame you. Somebody.
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: Somebody said to me the other day, well, you're better
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: than that artsy guy. I can't I can't remember his name. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:14Speaker 5: you know people.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Are that's great. I have no formal but Eric would
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: have taken that as a compliment because he fashioned himself
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: as an artsy guy renaissance man.
- 1:21:24Speaker 9: Uh.
- 1:21:24Speaker 5: Anyway, the Patriots are missing both their rookie wide receivers
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: to Mario Douglas and Kaishan Boody. Not Boody was in
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: a non contact jersey yesterday, right, I don't believe.
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: So that's what someone on the Twitter machine said, Well,
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: everybody was in color. Was not Someone said that he
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: was in a non contact jersey. But to your point, maybe.
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: Someone everyone's in red jerseys.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: Someone the whole was.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: In red jerseys.
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: So he didn't have like a black jersey.
- 1:21:50Speaker 5: Not what I saw, or so Kaishan Boody and we
- 1:21:54Speaker 5: would have that, that's something that we would have. Someone
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: reported Kaishan Boody not at practic this undisclosed reason.
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: Shoulder who knows injury.
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: So he's on the injury port with the shoulder injury.
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: But I don't know if maybe he aggravated I don't know.
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: I don't want to assume anything.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: The new kicker, matthew Wright was out there. Uh, and
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: Matthew Sexton, I think is the receiver name that they
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: signed yesterday was not so they signed They signed him
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: for one day, is what it looks like, because the
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: kicker is wearing the number and everything.
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: So just discover.
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: We're taking attendance and Alex is like, you know, forty seven.
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: I classed off forty seven and I'm like, oh, that's
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: the He's like, who's forty seven? I was like, oh,
- 1:22:40Speaker 5: that's the new the new receiver. On the practice call,
- 1:22:43Speaker 5: he's like he's kicking. It's like he could do it all.
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: He's like Wes well Man.
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: Alex got real excited for a second.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: I don't know what to tell you.
- 1:22:51Speaker 5: On the roster it says it's this receiver. So yeah,
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: it turns out that the receiver was out the door
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: in one day. But Matthew Wright does have some experience
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: kicking in the league, and I guess he was cut
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: by the Falcons on Tuesday, So maybe it's possible that
- 1:23:08Speaker 5: the Patriots didn't know he would be available and that's
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: why they'd signed up somebody for any So.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: Did you get to see anything beyond stretching.
- 1:23:16Speaker 5: No, no, that's why I gave a really long answer
- 1:23:18Speaker 5: to attendance. That's all I got.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: And because just in related to that kicker thing. You
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: know that list of thirteen tryouts, he wasn't one of
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: them because he was probably still on the Falcons practice
- 1:23:29Speaker 3: squad at that time. But you do wonder if they
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: wanted it. Well, I guess they just wanted them for
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: the practice squad. So we had to get released.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: Yeah, shells, yeah, no, no paths today and ten degrees
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: warmer than yesterday, much warmer, a little bounce in people's stay.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: It was much better.
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: I was talking to I don't know if they already
- 1:23:48Speaker 5: would say, but I was talking to someone in particular
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: that and you know, very very dejected about the state
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: of the team.
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: And you know we both tell Michael cheer him up. Yeah,
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: it was Ke's really down. It was right, That was
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: my first what you were talking to? Mike is really down?
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: Who I love talking to, by the way, great conversation.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: He's the greatest, he's the best.
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: He's as as good of a guy as it appears
- 1:24:12Speaker 5: from the outside. But we walked a little bit uh,
- 1:24:15Speaker 5: you know, to practice, and he's god like, just what
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: do we do?
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: You know, just very down Mike takes a personal Yeah,
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: And I would think we're talking about Mike greecee by
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: the way, as.
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: A professional, like he is a consummate professional. I would
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: think that there would be a part of him that
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: will kind of embrace this chance to have to cover
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: a team that's not what he's been covered for twenty years,
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: you know, like it's hard, like it's hard for us
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: to write, you.
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: Know, it's changed the narrative. Yeah, Like you know, like journalistically,
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: like I know, I cashed in that hat a long
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: time ago, you know, like I'm not necessarily looking to
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: break anything. But like as a journalist, wouldn't you be
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: looking at It's like, well, yeah, if I can find
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: out if Bill's going or staying before anybody else, if
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: I can find out who you're hiring before anybody else,
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: Like I would look at that. It's like opportunities.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: Journalistically, all the quarterbacks are on they talk about like
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: Hardy's thing, the action is the juice, Like that's what
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: you do this for.
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: I think there was a lot of that going around,
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: Like I'm giving credit to guys like Andrew Callahan and
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: Mark Daniels and Doug like those guys have reported a
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: lot about this team, and like everybody kind of got
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: on Andrew for the eighty twenty report and stuff like
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: that a little bit, but I think it was probably
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: pretty accurate.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: Obviously. You know, if you could get to Robert or
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: Jonathan Kraft or Bill Belichick himself and they were willing
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: to tell you, that'd be the easy way. But if
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: you were a Capital J journalist and you're looking for
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: the answer about what's going to happen when of the
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: seasons over, what path would you go to get to
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: the answer? You know that's realistic. I can't reveal my sources.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: You got to try to.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: I would.
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: I would be looking at people really close to Bill
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: that you have a relationship with, and see if you
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: can get a conversation, get a fee, and then do
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: that with two or three different people. Now, that might
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: not give you anything concrete, but it might give you
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: a lot of valuable background.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Agents and Ernie Adam, Now the only.
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: Thing about his agent is very tight lipped.
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: And also agents are going to tell you what they
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: want to tell you. They're not always going to tell
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: you so you don't have to do a lot.
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: But I mean, like a lot of people around him
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: that people know, you know, can a guy like Mike
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: Reese pick up the phone and call Josh McDaniels and
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: Matt Patricia, you know people like that. And I'm not
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: telling you that's going to give you the answer, but
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: it could provide some insight, you know. And I'm sure
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: those guys are making those kinds of calls, and that's
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: what I would be looking at. I mean, I wouldn't
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: want to do that every year. You don't want to
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: be in a coaching search every couple of years, you
- 1:26:47Speaker 3: know it is, and you never have an off day.
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: Remember I don't know, Paul if you remember, but the
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: year Parcels last year and they go to the Super
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: Bowl and there was all that contract or see the
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: week leading up you know Parcells is leaving. There was
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: that guy that old high school coach that Parcels took
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: to the Super Bowl read something. I forget his last
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: name for me, but like he was kind of saying
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: some stuff before.
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: You're just a friend of Parcels.
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and he actually was on what.
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: I'm talking about.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: You find out who's He was actually on the plane
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: with us going to the Super Bowl, and I knew
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: who he was, and he walked by me and I
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: grabbed his wrist and I said, gee, I hope Bill
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: doesn't leave, hoping he would say something to me. You know,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: it was like he was an old time.
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: Do you remember when when Pete Carroll left and Brian
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: and I wrote that story about like potential candidates, Like
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: we had all the candidates that were in the news,
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: you know, like we gotta come up with one on
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: our own. We were just like, who can we come
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: up with? Friends?
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: Like, what do you guys doing? He's yelling at him.
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: I don't remember you didn't come up with one?
- 1:28:02Speaker 4: What you may have?
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: I think that that is interesting, you know who's next
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: and all this type of stuff. But I think for
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: people like like me and people like Mike Reese, based
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: off of our conversation, there's still six weeks left of
- 1:28:16Speaker 5: the season, So how many times can you write the
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: column of you know, it's it's falling apart?
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: And for you, I get it because you're I mean you,
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: your lifeblood is breaking down these games, and like for
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: you to have to watch the offense of that game
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: last week I do. I'm not even I did it
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: for you, but but the other guys that are like
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: you should be writing an Andrew Callahan piece every week.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: You know what I would do. I would try to
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: identify a coach who was in a similar situation in
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: the history, in the past, and say, what was it
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: like in that last season where you know, before you
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: there's all the.
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: You know, the Shulas, the Landry comparisons.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: That are coming out now, yeah they're gone, But I
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: mean someone who's alive, who was in a similar position where.
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: I remember writing a feature on it, sort of coaching burnout,
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: you know, like guys that you know, and I had
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: talked to vermil I had talked to Jim Morrow. Jim
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: Morrow was absolutely fantastic talking about the playoffs, playoffs like
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: that whole thing, and it couldn't have been better. Like
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: that's the kind of stuff. These things you can tie
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: them in like Caren would be great at that. Karen
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: Grigan would be able to find someone who sort of
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: played out the string and kind of knew what was
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: it like, you know, what was the last month of
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: the season, like when you kind of knew you were
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: probably going to be done, you know.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: Yeah, what were your assistant coaches doing? Were they making
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: phone calls? Like what was the mood? But I think
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: now they would open up, you know, they would open up.
- 1:29:56Speaker 5: I do wonder where where Billy O's Head's at with
- 1:29:59Speaker 5: all of this, because he, regardless of what happens to
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: Bill the Bill Belichick, the results have clearly been terrible
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: on offense and he didn't do the job that he
- 1:30:10Speaker 5: was hired to do.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: He didn't fix it. He made it worse.
- 1:30:12Speaker 5: Not on Tuesday, Yeah, he didn't make it worse, but
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: it became worse under his watch. So whether it's Belichick
- 1:30:20Speaker 5: or it's it's Ben Johnson, there's probably a chance that
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: he's gone either way. And I just wonder what's next
- 1:30:28Speaker 5: for him. You know, that's a guy that I would
- 1:30:30Speaker 5: try to call is like, all right, you know, are
- 1:30:32Speaker 5: you talking to a college program?
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: Are you?
- 1:30:35Speaker 5: You know, are you're putting feelers out there where you're
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: gonna go next? Because especially with McDaniel's being a free
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: agent now, you have to wonder if.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: A yeah, like is he one?
- 1:30:47Speaker 5: And Doney, I've thought about that a lot. I think
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: he might be all right, it's.
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: That time of the week, Oh oh yeah, let's hear it, Paul.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: Already, Paul, what happened down well? I mean you could
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: tell by the the boyish excitement the other week. So
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: let's see here. There was a tie at the top
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: between Mike as you can already tell, and Fred thirteen
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: and three. Very good week, boys, uh, followed by Paul
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: at eleven and five, and Alex and Evan at ten
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: and six. So you can see it was a pretty
- 1:31:24Speaker 3: good week for everybody. With the spread. It was also
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: Mike at twelve and four, followed by Evan ten and six.
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: Kind of role reversal, the two worst with the spread
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: the way I'm just saying context.
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: And then Alex, Paul and Fred all nine and seven.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I don't care about the spread, queen is
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: so you should. That's what separates the anyone can be
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: over five hundred straight up. That's okay.
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: Alex continues to lead. I did I did chop a
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: game off of her lead this week. She's one sixteen
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: and sixty four. I am one twelve and sixty eight. Uh.
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: Fred is one ten and seventy and then Evan and
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: Mike are tied at one oh nine and seventy one
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: with the spread Paul eighty nine, eighty three and eight,
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: followed by Alex At eighty seven, eighty five and eight,
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: Fred eighty six, eighty six and eight, Evan eighty three,
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: eighty nine and eight, and despite Mike's twelve and four
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: Mark Mike eighty ninety.
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: Two in well, I'm told that the spreads all that matters.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: That's true.
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: That's right. Hey, there you go. That's I'm coming back.
- 1:32:34Speaker 7: Now.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: You're not all right?
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: All right, you're in second to last week, so I
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: just want to be okay.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: Possibly a good game tonight and eight, possibly eight to
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: fifteen on Prime. The six and five Seahawks, speaking of
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: Pete Carroll are at the eight and three Cowboys.
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: Oh sorry, Dallas by nine.
- 1:32:51Speaker 5: It's important to remember that these two teams had the
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: full week because they both played on Thanksgiving.
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: So it's very very important to remake a short week.
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: Can I just ask Mike if you have anything from Alex?
- 1:33:03Speaker 4: She did. She texted us okay on slack, Okay, I
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: can join to read them to you. Yeah, I will
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: do so.
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: Then I want to have to put my glasses on.
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: Well, I will lead us off, though, I'm gonna take
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: Dallas to win. And I know Evan just said that
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: they've had a full week. I still think Thursday night
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: games are weird. I'm gonna take the points for Seattle.
- 1:33:21Speaker 5: There's Ox going for me. You go, I gotta pull Okay,
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with Dallas as well. I'm gonna go
- 1:33:29Speaker 5: with with Dallas both ways. I don't really like what
- 1:33:31Speaker 5: Seattle's put out there.
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take Dallas both ways too. I like
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: Mike's rationale. I think those Thursday night games tend to
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: be a little bit mucked up. But the fact that
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: it's a full week, the fact that Dallas has been
- 1:33:45Speaker 3: rolling at home, I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: If I could tease this down to two and a half,
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: I would, and then I take the Cowboys both ways.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: But I can't. So I'm gonna take the Cowboys. But
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna take those points.
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: It's it's amazing that he actually did that reasonably.
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: Locked us right into it. Alex's Dallas both.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: Ways, Dallas both ways for us, But I don't know
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: what I'm talking about.
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: Can I do that?
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: I think maybe you would add it a half point,
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: but if you teased it, it would go from nine
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: to three I believe I would love to have like
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: lift shots come for like one of these, just to
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: watch his head explode. Can you imagine how mad he
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: would get? Like Fred Fred, not Fred, your Fred toucher.
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: We'll just say, like the most innocuous thing, like what
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: do you like that?
- 1:34:29Speaker 9: What I like? Like?
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: He's funny.
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: I liked it all right. One o'clock Games, Fox, eight
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: and three, Lions reeling over Thanksgiving loss against the five
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: and six Saints.
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: Detroit by four.
- 1:34:47Speaker 4: Interesting little spot here for the Lions trying to bounce
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: back on the road against the Saints team, and you
- 1:34:53Speaker 4: know what I like them to do it. I'm gonna
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: take Detroit. I would lay the points and Dallas. I'm sorry,
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: Alexandra does the same.
- 1:35:00Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Lions both ways. I think they
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: bounce back.
- 1:35:05Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie. Talk to my boy Hardy about
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: this and he shares the I'm gonna take Yeah, he's
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: a little shook, he's a little nervous. I'm gonna take down.
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: Why do I keep saying Dallas Detroit both ways? But
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: I am a little, uh a little hesitant to do that.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna hedge my bets I'll take the Lions,
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: but I'm gonna take them points. I was tempted to
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: take the Saints outright, man, but home, that's you know,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: that's the feel of the one o'clock Fox game five
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: and six. Falcons. They're kind of my Detroit Lions this year.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: Uh you can you can never get them right, no
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: matter which way you pick them. Struggling against the four
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: and seven Jets, who of course have a new participant
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: in practice as of this week.
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: A Uh yeah, I think I think this is gonna
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: be a little bit of a distraction for the Jets
- 1:35:59Speaker 4: this week. I think with Aaron Rodgers back of practice.
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: So I'm gonna take Atlanta both ways, and Alex does
- 1:36:05Speaker 4: the same.
- 1:36:06Speaker 5: I'm also gonna take Atlanta both ways. Tim Boyle was worse, Well,
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: he's a terrible quarterbacks. He was worse than Zaq Weell.
- 1:36:14Speaker 5: I didn't think you could be worse than Zack Wilson.
- 1:36:16Speaker 5: He was worse than Zack Wilson.
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna take the Jets here at home,
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: and it will have nothing to do with Tim Boyle.
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: I think the defense will take the ball away from
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: a Falcons team that shouldn't be in a position to
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: ever think, well, this is a win for us on
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: the road, and I think that they will have that
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: kind and I think that the distraction of Aaron Rodgers
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: could actually help them because it's less talk about how
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: bad they are this week and more talk about Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: So I don't know. I'll roll the dice and say
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: the Jets win a game.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna do a Costanza, I would pick the Jets.
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna go against what I want to do, and
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna pick the Falcons. One o'clock CBS, two to
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: ten Cardinals against the seven and four Steelers.
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: Pittsburgh by five and a half. Another offensive coordinator change
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: leads to the first four hundred yard game and fifty
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: nine games for Pittsburgh. How's that? How's Matt Canada? There?
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: Like literally, it's been fifty nine games since they got
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: four hundred yards of offense and he did it in one.
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: Oh, Canada.
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: Well, you just talked me into a pall and thinking Pittsburgh,
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: I'll lay the points, Alex.
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: That wasn't my intention.
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: Alex has Pittsburgh, but she took the points for Arizona.
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: Okay, I'm gonna take Arizona in this game. I think
- 1:37:33Speaker 5: Arizona's a little bit frisky. I think I think Kyler
- 1:37:36Speaker 5: Murray is playing well, and I think that they play
- 1:37:40Speaker 5: hard for that coach, even though they only have two wins.
- 1:37:42Speaker 5: I know that sounds crazy, but I think that they
- 1:37:44Speaker 5: compete every single week.
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: I agree about Arizona in general, and for that reason,
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: I'm going to take the points, but I will take
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: Pittsburgh at home to win.
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take Pittsburgh both ways in this game.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: They they got something going over there Sunday at one
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: CBS six and five Colts are at the four and
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: seven Titans.
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: Indeed, by one, nobody's watching this game.
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: Man, that's tough.
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: It's a tough one. Ah, I don't know.
- 1:38:13Speaker 4: I'm gonna go game. I'm gonna go with Tennessee at home.
- 1:38:16Speaker 4: I'm not really sure why.
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: I can tell you.
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: Uh. And Alex actually to the same.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: Has he ever not picked He picked Tennessee every week
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: because of Mike. Every now and then.
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: The hen they'll be playing the seven Patriots and Micha
- 1:38:29Speaker 5: wil being I'm gonna take Titans.
- 1:38:32Speaker 4: Well, he couldn't because he played for the seven Patriots conundrum.
- 1:38:35Speaker 3: Conundrum.
- 1:38:36Speaker 5: I'm gonna I'm gonna take the Colts in this game.
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: I think the Titans are are reeling a little bit.
- 1:38:42Speaker 5: I know they won last week, right, Yeah, but I did.
- 1:38:45Speaker 5: It was an ugly win, and I'm gonna take I'm
- 1:38:47Speaker 5: gonna take the Colts.
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: Yeah, And I don't know how the Colts are doing it,
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: but I give that guy a lot of credit to
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: Shane Stikeen. I mean that they're They're competitive in every game,
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: They're over five hundred, They're in the playoff mix. I'll
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: take them to win this game.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: Yeah, division game. Rabel kind of coaching for his life here.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna go for the Titans in this game.
- 1:39:08Speaker 3: So we had an emailer a short time ago that
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: kind of liked when we do NFL at large, did
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: you guys I talked a little bit about that Florio thing,
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: I think yesterday with Rabel. Oh yeah, yeah, right, So
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: I think that's interesting that, you know, Rabel's fine, but
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: he might not want Tennessee anymore. So I just thought
- 1:39:30Speaker 3: that that kind of whole dynamically.
- 1:39:31Speaker 5: Yeah, that was when he came back for his Hall
- 1:39:34Speaker 5: of Fame ceremony and some of the comments of like
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: you don't know how good you have it here and
- 1:39:39Speaker 5: ownership and this and that. I was starting to think
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: that maybe he didn't want to be there anymore either.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, I'm gonna take Titans one o'clock Fox, eight
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: and three. Dolphins are at the four and eight Commanders
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: Miami by nine and a half.
- 1:39:57Speaker 4: That's a big number. But I'm gonna continue with my again,
- 1:40:01Speaker 4: still workshopping this. Miami on the road north of the
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: you know North not going to do well. I'm gonna
- 1:40:06Speaker 4: take Washington's points. I'm too big Miami to win.
- 1:40:09Speaker 5: Though Miami won thirty four to thirteen last week in
- 1:40:12Speaker 5: New York.
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: So yet might be colder this week. I told her
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: I was still working on it. What does Alex have here?
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: Usually she usually skips, oh, Miami, Miami.
- 1:40:26Speaker 5: Sorry, I'm taking Miami both ways too.
- 1:40:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I will take Miami both ways. I think Washington,
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: that little shine on Sam Howell might might be gone.
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: This is my upset of the week. Commander's outright wow Yep.
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: Sunday at one CBS, the Broncos are at the Texans
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: in a rare road game. They're gonna have three in
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: a row. The league is really they're making the stick. Yeah,
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: make up.
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: About us, this is this is not true.
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: It's makeup time for the Broncos. Two six and five
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: teams who had that No kidding.
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: These two teams in the playoff structure are on the
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: periphery of the playoff Houston by three and a half.
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: Yeah, well, Alex said, Houston and Houston. I'm gonna I'm
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: gonna do the same though, Houston at home.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: C J.
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: Stroud, sign me up.
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: This one's a tough one. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:41:27Speaker 5: take I'm gonna take the Broncos. I think they're That
- 1:41:30Speaker 5: defense has just been playing lights out. And I still
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: think that c J. Stroud's is he's a rookie court
- 1:41:36Speaker 5: He's a very good rookie quarterback. But I think that
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: the the Broncos are gonna have something up their sleep
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: for him.
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm gonna ride the hot hand too. I'm gonna
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: take the Broncos on the road. But I do expect
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: this to be a good game.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: I thought i'd be standing alone in this one, but
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: I'm going with the Broncos as well. They've been hot. Yeah,
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: not that the Texans haven't been playing well, but I
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: think the young quarterback, as Evan said, Sean Payton experience
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: his head coach against him.
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: So I don't like the way that Texans spent the
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: week whining about and I don't even know what all
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: the calls were. I'm sure they got screwed too, because
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: the officiating in this league I think is at at
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: all time worst. But they spent the whole week bitching
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: about them getting screwed against Jacksonville. I don't think that's
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: a good mindset.
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: All right, We're gonna skip over the one o'clock game
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: for the Patriots and move to four oh five. The
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: one in ten Panthers are at the four and seven.
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: Buccaneers Tampa by five. Maybe they can finally get in
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: the win column for.
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: Young Baker may Baker Mayfield. Yeah, Carolina fire their coach, don't.
- 1:42:35Speaker 4: I don't know if it's gonna be a boost this week.
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Tampa Bay and I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:42:40Speaker 3: Wow, showing the coaching change bump?
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: Feel different? Yeah?
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: What do you got there for Alexandra? Sorry?
- 1:42:48Speaker 4: Uh, she's got Tampa Tampa.
- 1:42:51Speaker 5: Normally I would take the coaching angle here, but I
- 1:42:57Speaker 5: think I'm gonna take Tampa. I'm gonna take the though,
- 1:43:01Speaker 5: I'll take Carolina to cover. I think they compete in
- 1:43:03Speaker 5: this game division game.
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna do the same thing. I think Carolina
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: has been competing, they just haven't been able to muster
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: enough offense. I'll take Tampa to win. They'll take the
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: five points.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to Tampa too. You know, I don't
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: think they get the coaching bump that we saw earlier
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: this year with U Raiders. The Raiders one of the
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: reasons is.
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: They're not playing the Jets.
- 1:43:25Speaker 9: No.
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: One of the reasons is like Giants without Daniel Jones.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: You know, these players aren't stupid. They know like what's
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: happened over the last few years with this team. And
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: then they probably saw the press conference that the owner had,
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: like are you like excited about being on that team?
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: You know, like that was not a you know, a
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: confidence inspiring press conference if you ask me. So, I
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: think there's a lot of ambivalence in that locker room.
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: And I think it. You know, they're one and ten,
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: so it's not like, uh, but I don't think they
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: win this game and get any bumps. So Buccaneers both
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: ways yep, four to twenty five, seven and four Browns
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: are at the five and six Rams, the.
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: Lar by three and a half DTR three and nine.
- 1:44:10Speaker 5: No Joe fla.
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: I believe it's Joe Flacco.
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: That's why the line is what it is.
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: Huh, Yeah, forget it. I'm gonna take the Rams and
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: the Rams coming on a little bit.
- 1:44:19Speaker 3: I think they're I know you don't want to hear
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: this because you make fun of me, and I don't
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: want to take away a little bit because it is funny. Yeah,
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: but the Rams have been fine when Stafford's played.
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: Oh so that two those two games, how often does
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: he played this year?
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: I think he's missed one and a half games. They
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: lost him both and they're five and six.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: Well, he didn't show up in the others. But okay,
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: go ahead, Lar Lar for for Alex.
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: Just I'm just saying, if you don't, I think they're
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: a decent team. I don't think they're a good team
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: by any stretch, but I think they're decent.
- 1:44:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree. I think I got the Rams both
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: ways in this game. They have enough with Stafford. I
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: don't know if is Cup gonna play in this game.
- 1:44:59Speaker 5: You know they haven't that like star power? They saw
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: Aaron Donald on defense.
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: I believe I believe Cup played last week.
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so I'm going to take the rams.
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: I'm going to take the rams both ways too? Did Alex?
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: Did I miss Alex? Okay? Yeah?
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: I mean if the Browns had a quarterback, I'd be
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: picking them in that game.
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: De Sseean Watson was playing, it would be a different story.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: But rams both ways for five?
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: How that works?
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: Un fucking starting quarterback is eight and three? Forty nine
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: ers are at the ten to one Eagles.
- 1:45:32Speaker 3: Game of the season thus far, gentlemen. Uh the Niners
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: by three on the road.
- 1:45:39Speaker 5: Wow, Eagles Bills was pretty darn good.
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: Oh that I mean the way the game unfolded that
- 1:45:43Speaker 3: was the best playing is the best matchups it is?
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: So is that disrespect for the Eagles a little bit?
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: Because I know if it was the Patriots, and the
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: Patriots nation would be saying, yeah, what would they be saying?
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: I mean, if you don't just say Patriots, Patriots, Patriots?
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: They I was I was.
- 1:46:02Speaker 4: Almost gonna go San Francisco. I still think this is
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: San Francisco's year. But I'm gonna take Philly in this one.
- 1:46:08Speaker 4: At home. I just think you get the better quarterback
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: right now, and it's hard to see. I mean, I
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: don't than Brock Party. It's tough NFC Championship. I mean
- 1:46:19Speaker 4: this could decide where it's played, kind of like the
- 1:46:21Speaker 4: O three Patriots Colt scheme, you know, like this regular
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: season meeting, maybe this one decides where they meet in
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: the NFC Championship. I'm going Philly.
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: And what are those four pointers, Mike, Yeah, like the
- 1:46:30Speaker 3: old Norris Division battles in the NHL.
- 1:46:32Speaker 4: And what what does Alex? San Francisco, San Francisco.
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: I'm going with the Eagles in this game.
- 1:46:40Speaker 5: I with Fred, it's disrespectful that the Eagles, who have
- 1:46:44Speaker 5: the better record, uh and won the game last year,
- 1:46:48Speaker 5: are dogs at home? Disrespect Come on, Eagles.
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: Win the Eagles.
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: You know they gave the slip that they won the
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: game last year.
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: I think by me, right, I mean, does it it's
- 1:47:00Speaker 5: Brock Party or you know one are the other options.
- 1:47:02Speaker 5: I mean, it doesn't make a difference. I don't think so.
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: I think actually having a quarterback does make a difference, though,
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: I will take San Francisco and I do not think
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: it will be particularly close. I think the Eagles have
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: been walking a tight rope for about a month and
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: a half now, and San Francisco will not let them
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: get away with that.
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean the Eagles are pulling it out right,
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: you know, put it out, put on the table. Yeah,
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: but I don't think they're gonna show it to this game.
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: I think I think the forty nine Ers win and
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: they cover in this game, but it's Eagles.
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: Are Oh yeah, don't make my pick. I think the
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: Eagles are excellent. I just feel like they've won a
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: lot of close games that a lot of sort of
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: controversial things have gone their way. It's bound to Yeah,
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: that's fair, it's bound And I still think the Eagles
- 1:47:55Speaker 3: are very good. And I agree with Mike. I think
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: this will probably be the NFC champion.
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: If the if the Eagles don't win the Super Bowl,
- 1:48:01Speaker 5: then it's going to come down to something like that
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: where a lot of their game they've won a lot
- 1:48:05Speaker 5: of one score games there No.
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and last year I think you know, everybody said
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: that about Minnesota, but this team is far more talented
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: than Minnesota.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: Eight twenty on Sunday on very sure, the eight and
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: three Chiefs are at the five and six Packers, Chiefs
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: by six, Chiefs.
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: By six, Uh yeah, I like it. I'm going to
- 1:48:31Speaker 4: take Kansas City. I'll lay the points. Alex did the same.
- 1:48:35Speaker 5: I'm also going to take Kansas City both ways. I
- 1:48:38Speaker 5: think that Packers game was a blip. I don't think
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: that they're against the Lions. I mean, yeah, I think
- 1:48:43Speaker 5: that was a one game thing.
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean if the Chiefs turn it over like
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: the Lions did, they'll be in trouble too, right. I
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: agree with you guys. I'll take the Chiefs. Look like
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: they got a little of their offense back last week
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: against the Raiders, and I think that continues.
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: Same here, Chiefs both ways. Monday Night, eight fifteen on ESPN, ABC,
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: ESPN two, ESPN Deportes. The five and six Bengals are
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: at the eight and three Jaguars.
- 1:49:10Speaker 3: I wonder if the Burrow injury happened after the window
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: to flex this baby. Jacksonville by nine.
- 1:49:17Speaker 4: Nin gimme Jacksonville and I'll yeah, I'm gonna lay the nine.
- 1:49:24Speaker 4: And Missus Francisco did the same.
- 1:49:27Speaker 5: So Jacksonville's went eight out of their last nine games.
- 1:49:30Speaker 5: I think it is, which is a pretty good run
- 1:49:32Speaker 5: for them. I like the Jaguars as well, and I
- 1:49:35Speaker 5: like them not enough to cover it, though. I think
- 1:49:38Speaker 5: eight points a lot of points for Jacksonville. Right now,
- 1:49:40Speaker 5: I still think the Bengals are competitive.
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I'm gonna do the same thing.
- 1:49:45Speaker 3: Nine points is a lot Monday night game. They'll they'll
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: show up. I thought they played hard last week against Pittsburgh.
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: I think they'll do it again. And then maybe you
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: have to look out below and see what happens.
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I will what game we told Jacksonville. I will
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: go with Jacksonville both ways. Ride that Trevor Lawrence train.
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: All right. Now we go back to one o'clock on Sunday,
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: we have to the four and seven Chargers are at
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: the two and nine Patriots. Remember those days when the
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: Chargers would come for one one o'clock.
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: Damn, you could pencil it in, right, I think the uh,
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: this is a stunning line to me. The four and
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: seven Chargers are favored by five and a half points
- 1:50:26Speaker 3: in your building.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: But you're not stunned by that.
- 1:50:29Speaker 5: Okay, but Bailey's appy starts, I don't know, move the
- 1:50:31Speaker 5: line in the Patriots just well.
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: I think it did move her from six to five
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: and a half. But just last week, Fred, the Patriots
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: were favored on the road. Just last week.
- 1:50:42Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no, I can't. I can't do it.
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: I can't.
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: I can't.
- 1:50:48Speaker 4: I can't even. I can't even. I'm gonna take the
- 1:50:51Speaker 4: Chargers in this one. I just quarterback. I think I
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: do think that the Patriots will and I mean they're
- 1:50:56Speaker 4: not going to get run off the field by this
- 1:50:57Speaker 4: this Chargers team. And it might be petitive early on,
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: but I think the Chargers just have the better quarterback,
- 1:51:03Speaker 4: the better weapons, and I think they'll score more points.
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: I got Charges twenty four to thirteen. Alex She's Chargers Chargers.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: I have a similar score to Deuce.
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: I think that the Patriots do get a boost from
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: Bailey Zappi, but I think that there's just too much
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: offense for the Chargers. I had the Chargers twenty three sixteen.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: I think it's a decent thk.
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: They're really going to get that extra field goal.
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: I did twenty three sixteen.
- 1:51:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree with the little more offense with Zappi,
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: just not as much. And it's the same. Yeah, it's
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: the same. It's twenty I have twenty three thirteen Chargers.
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: I just feel like unless it's one of those deals
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: where the Chargers come in and turn it over all
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: over the place. I don't see the Patriots putting together
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: enough drives to win.
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: Yeah. I was tempted to take the Patriots outright, just
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: just because, just for old time's sake.
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: But I can't do it like Tessio.
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't do it.
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: Thirty one thirteen, thirty thirteen, You we're gonna take the Patriots,
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: and then you picked thirty one thirteen.
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: Just for old times sake, not based on anything I do.
- 1:52:11Speaker 5: I do wonder for this game with the Patriots blow
- 1:52:13Speaker 5: me away. I'm looking at this game. I know everybody's
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: gonna look at Bailey Zappy, but I'm really looking at
- 1:52:18Speaker 5: the defense in this game, because you hold back to
- 1:52:22Speaker 5: back opponents to ten points, and everybody's kind of saying, oh,
- 1:52:24Speaker 5: it was a good defense, Were they right? And I
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: watching the film back of both those games, there were
- 1:52:29Speaker 5: so many more opportunities for the Colts and the Giants
- 1:52:32Speaker 5: to make plays that I feel like they didn't because
- 1:52:34Speaker 5: of who was playing quarterback. And if I'm right, then
- 1:52:37Speaker 5: Justin Herbert is gonna score thirty one points against them
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: like Fred predicted. If I'm wrong, then maybe the defense
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: is still frisky, you know, at two a nine, as
- 1:52:45Speaker 5: frisky as you could possibly be.
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I just think it's just gonna at
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: some point in the game, it's just gonna just fall
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: apart and we're gonna lose control.
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: Break So ten five on Sunday you want to catch
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: a point, it's just at some point it's just gonna
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: all fall apart. Can you get that drop? So we
- 1:53:06Speaker 3: can include that in the pregame show, Matt.
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: Next, all right, So that's the picks for this week.
- 1:53:11Speaker 3: That in the open to the Tuesday show, see what happened.
- 1:53:14Speaker 4: Keenan Allen o miss practiced yesterday. That was a little
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: bit he did.
- 1:53:17Speaker 3: I would like to see what happens today on that.
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: But if he does not play, then they don't have
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: a lot of weapons now they have none.
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: Got a few minutes here, emails still coming in. Bradley
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: writes in Evan Commy, He says, is Evan a communist?
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: Or does he just hate football? It's not just un
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: American to hate Army Navy. It shows you're just a casual.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: But didn't get that football isn't only about the modern
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: day scoring. The passing. Evan loves to watch from the
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: All thirty three. It's about the trenches and there's no
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: better example of that the Army, Navy Boo Evan, the trenches.
- 1:53:55Speaker 5: I look, I said on earlier in Catch twenty two,
- 1:53:58Speaker 5: I'm going to back off the arm maybe take because
- 1:54:01Speaker 5: somebody's gonna take it the wrong way. No, I just
- 1:54:04Speaker 5: no one said anything, but I just I didn't want
- 1:54:06Speaker 5: people to take it the wrong way that it's like
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: a take against the military, because that's totally not where
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: I'm at. Like, that's not that's not where I'm sure.
- 1:54:14Speaker 4: He's just about football.
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: It's all about the trenches. Like please, like how many
- 1:54:18Speaker 5: different types of ways I agree.
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: I like the use of casual, though I haven't realized
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: the casual. That's like an insult now among football fans.
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: Casual it's like calling you you're a casual. Yeah, you're
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: a pink cat, right.
- 1:54:33Speaker 5: Yeah, these casuals like they know right.
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: L from Wisconsin about uniforms. Uh, watching the Black Friday game,
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: the Jets uniforms were great. How cool would a Patriots
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: black uniform with red accents?
- 1:54:49Speaker 9: Be?
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: Make it happen? Now, I'm not.
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: A big fan of the black uniform.
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: It feels like the only black uniform I like is
- 1:54:56Speaker 5: the Cardinals. The Cardinals black uniforms are sweet.
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: But that's pretty cool, you know raiders know well, I
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: mean like that's the one.
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he's talking about all. I actually like the like
- 1:55:06Speaker 3: the Falcons when they were when they that it wasn't bad.
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: I like the red better.
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: But yeah, that one's good too.
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:55:15Speaker 4: More uniforms. I'm for all of it. More uniforms, throw
- 1:55:18Speaker 4: them all out, I'm not no, no, So what are
- 1:55:21Speaker 4: the charges gonna wear this week?
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: What was the the throwback that you don't like that
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: you didn't want to see? It's part of your question.
- 1:55:28Speaker 4: I haven't done the round tap?
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: Do you not even think about these things?
- 1:55:31Speaker 9: No?
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: I like to pose them.
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: And then I'm like, I'm really.
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: Am the first one that puts it in every week?
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: Aren't I? You were this week? Yeah? Uh? And finally,
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: Stevie in Texas writes in I love that emailer calling
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: out callers, not that I agree with him. The highlight
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: of this show today is going to be when William
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: and Philam calls in from the freezer at work to
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: defend himself. Also, I think a lot of people have
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: been worried about what Bill will do with the first
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: round pick. I think it's guaranteed he gets the right
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: player if picking. I'm worried about what he would do
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: with the same and a third round pick.
- 1:56:01Speaker 5: You think it's guarantee?
- 1:56:02Speaker 3: Why would I be guarantee?
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: You?
- 1:56:03Speaker 5: Is it guaranteed?
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:56:05Speaker 5: What has he done with his first round picks outside
- 1:56:07Speaker 5: of Cold Strain or Christian Zalez? That makes it guaranteed?
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: All right, that's gonna be it for this edition of
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: Patriots Unfiltered ten. Okay, yeah, so you guys did all
