- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome to Revealing Wholeness podcast dedicated to revealing the profound
- 0:07Speaker 1: connections between body, mind, and spirit, where we believe that
- 0:11Speaker 1: true wellness arises from addressing the root causes of our
- 0:14Speaker 1: health challenges, not just masking the symptoms. Here we dive
- 0:17Speaker 1: deep into how holistic approaches such as advanced chiropractic care,
- 0:21Speaker 1: personalized nutrition, and natural healing practices can transform your life.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Now here is doctor Troy.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Hello and welcome. I'm doctor Troy. This is our fifth
- 0:37Speaker 2: installment in our Raw Milk Healing series. And this particular
- 0:41Speaker 2: article that we're going to be reading from comes from
- 0:43Speaker 2: the Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station bulletin. So this is page eight,
- 0:50Speaker 2: nineteen thirty three, if you can believe it. And so
- 0:54Speaker 2: this particular article reads that raw milk is better than
- 0:58Speaker 2: pasteurized milk in promoting growth and calcium absorption. Now, it
- 1:02Speaker 2: shouldn't come to a big shock that as we've explored
- 1:05Speaker 2: this whole thing with pasteurized milk, literally destroying a live
- 1:10Speaker 2: food called raw milk and creating a dead food called
- 1:14Speaker 2: pasteurized store bought milk. Now does that pasturized store bought
- 1:18Speaker 2: milk withstand many weeks on the shelf and can at
- 1:22Speaker 2: least maintain some shelf stability so that it can get
- 1:25Speaker 2: it to the consumer and make more money. Yes it can.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Now here's why. Now, back then they may have not
- 1:33Speaker 2: understood ionic bonds when it comes to chemistry, and some
- 1:36Speaker 2: of you out there like ionic What in chemistry, there
- 1:39Speaker 2: is a very tight bonding system between minerals where it's
- 1:43Speaker 2: called an ionic bond, and so two calcium will come
- 1:47Speaker 2: together and they literally will not want to separate. It
- 1:51Speaker 2: takes a fair amount of acid and a lot of
- 1:53Speaker 2: chemical steps to separate those calcium. But what happens is
- 1:57Speaker 2: when we heat milk, that calcium protein bond is broken
- 2:04Speaker 2: and the calcium come together and they produce an ionic
- 2:07Speaker 2: bond calcium carbonate or limestone. And now we can't really
- 2:13Speaker 2: get at the calcium at all. We could now, don't
- 2:17Speaker 2: get me wrong. We do have a digestive potency and
- 2:20Speaker 2: stomach acid being what it is, is strong enough to
- 2:23Speaker 2: try and break those bonds and now absorb some limestone
- 2:27Speaker 2: or calcium carbonate. But it's about eight percent at best.
- 2:32Speaker 2: So let's say that we take one hundred milligram tablet
- 2:35Speaker 2: of calcium carbonate. Oh great, to get one hundred milligrams calcium, Well,
- 2:41Speaker 2: how much limestone can you absorb? Eight percent? If your
- 2:44Speaker 2: digestive system is awesome, And so I'm gonna get eight
- 2:47Speaker 2: milligrams out of that hundred milligram tablet. So if I
- 2:50Speaker 2: have a six hundred milligram tablet, which is commonplace, how
- 2:53Speaker 2: much calcium I'm going to absorb? Well, if you have
- 2:55Speaker 2: perfect digestion, you're gonna get just under fifty milligrams. Now,
- 2:59Speaker 2: how many people out they have perfect digestion. Not many.
- 3:02Speaker 2: If you have a child that is picky, like a
- 3:04Speaker 2: picky eater, their digestive system is already telling you it's
- 3:07Speaker 2: not very good. If you have acid reflux, or you
- 3:10Speaker 2: feel like you're bloated, or meals don't digest, or you're
- 3:14Speaker 2: burping right after eating, you don't have good digestion, my friend.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And so if you take calcium carbonate or limestone, you
- 3:22Speaker 2: might be lucky to get four percent. You're probably going
- 3:24Speaker 2: to get maybe two percent. And so you can take
- 3:27Speaker 2: a bunch of calcium that's garbage out of the store,
- 3:30Speaker 2: but chances are going to absorb very little of it. Now,
- 3:33Speaker 2: they used to put calcium carbonate into pasteurized milk because
- 3:37Speaker 2: they knew that this would happen, so they just added
- 3:40Speaker 2: more crappy calcium to try to help absorption. But I
- 3:44Speaker 2: don't even think they do that anymore because I've checked
- 3:46Speaker 2: milk lately and on the label and ingredients it says
- 3:48Speaker 2: they don't add calcium, where before I used to read
- 3:50Speaker 2: it on labels than they would. I was like, my gosh,
- 3:53Speaker 2: they do, And so now I think they're getting whyser
- 3:56Speaker 2: people realizing, hey, I don't want calcium carbonate. So they've
- 3:59Speaker 2: pulled it off of milk and they don't do it anymore,
- 4:03Speaker 2: or it's just low enough that they don't have to
- 4:06Speaker 2: actually list it in the ingredients, believe it or not,
- 4:08Speaker 2: because if it's less than two percent of the product,
- 4:12Speaker 2: then they don't have to actually list the ingredient. So
- 4:15Speaker 2: that creates a whole bunch of garbage. Now what's fascinating
- 4:20Speaker 2: to me is like, let's say they have cereal that's
- 4:23Speaker 2: vitamin fortified. Those amounts are way less than two percent,
- 4:28Speaker 2: but because they're using it as a marketing ploy, they'll
- 4:31Speaker 2: put in the ingredients that you'll read it and say, oh,
- 4:33Speaker 2: this has bioflavonoids and routin or whatever, and you'll think, oh,
- 4:38Speaker 2: this is really great for me, and you'll go ahead
- 4:39Speaker 2: and buy it, even though you don't realize that most
- 4:41Speaker 2: of them are synthetic that are going to put in
- 4:42Speaker 2: those foods. But I digress. So when you have milk
- 4:47Speaker 2: that has proper vitamin D in it because it's not
- 4:49Speaker 2: been destroyed by heating or pastorization, and you have vitamin
- 4:53Speaker 2: K two, and you have calcium that's now bioavailable because
- 4:57Speaker 2: it's correct in the raw milk, you now obviously can
- 5:01Speaker 2: absorb and process the calcium better as well as reabsorb
- 5:06Speaker 2: it into bones and actually help your bone growth. So
- 5:11Speaker 2: not a big stretch that raw milk is better than
- 5:13Speaker 2: pasteurized milk at promoting bone growth or just growth in
- 5:17Speaker 2: general of children and calcium absorption. So I hope that
- 5:20Speaker 2: was helpful. Until next time, I'm doctor Troy, and remember
- 5:24Speaker 2: there is way more right with you than there is
- 5:26Speaker 2: wrong with you.
