- Greg: Hey, what's up guys? Welcome to the latest edition of beliefs, ballots and bets. It's Friday, April 10th, 2026. Sorry for a little audio difficulties yesterday. We're still, we're still kind of figuring this out. The theme of the day is standing firm and let's, get into it. Yesterday was ⁓ two and one. ⁓ that's obviously not good. Not what we're looking for. But here's the thing, we don't change anything. We keep the same process, same approach and absolutely the same discipline. See, this is, think, where most people lose control of things. It's not the loss itself or a bad day, but it's what do we do after it? How do we react? You know, we live in a world where one bad day seems to change everything for people. And yeah, it's just, I don't think that's appropriate. And the Bible calls us and... 1 Corinthians 15 verse 58. Let me find it real quick. It says, therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm, let nothing move you, always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, because that you know that your labor, if the Lord is not in vain. And think this is a very valid point, you know, stand firm on those, those absolute core beliefs and don't let things move you. You're going to get challenged. You're going to get tested and every now and then you're going to have things that pop up that make you ask questions about some of those core beliefs. And that's perfectly fine. Just get back in the Bible and figure out what, the truth is. When things don't go your way, the natural instinct is to try to change something and add to what you're doing, change the system. go in a different direction, force something to happen. You we've all heard the saying that successful people don't sit around and wait for something to happen. They go out and make something happen. And sometimes that's the right approach. But sometimes if you've done the work and you've committed to the discipline and you're on a good path, the best thing you can do is stay in control, stay on that path and not go overreacting and trying to force a change. You look around, we see it everywhere. People just don't stand for anything anymore. They react and they flip-flop back and forth from one side to another on various argument on any given day. You know, one bad result in their life and they think they need to completely change their direction. One minor setback and you completely abandon the plan and that is not strength. That is absolute and abhorrent instability and that is not what the Bible calls us to and that is not what God wants for us. Everything these days is just so reaction based so Emotion-driven such short-term thinking and and again if something doesn't work immediately people just scrap it and want to move on and You know, we talked about it before that's that's not how anything meaningful works, you know things that are beautiful Historical and and long-lasting are not created on a whim. They're not done from overreacting and flip-flopping from one thing to another So, know, let's, we look at this from a personal level and ask yourself, you know, what's, what's your natural inclination when things don't go your way? You know, what do you do? Do you, do you commit further to the path and stand firm in your convictions or are you one of those people who is easily swayed and kind of can get pulled in various different directions that that determines everything these days. And, know, especially with what we do here, we're talking about sports gambling and betting and You know, in particular, the season we're in right now where most of our bets are on baseball and I've shared with you guys and anybody that'll listen for the two and a half decades I've been gambling. Baseball is by far the hardest sport. There is the most variance. The best team in the league is likely to lose 50 plus games in a year. A team can score 14 runs one day and then not score for two games following that. So there's a lot of variance in baseball and you're going to have some ups and downs and You know, we went on a nice, I think 11 and three run and then we've promptly gone like one four and one cents. So that's part of it. You just got to take the losses. You got to stick to the pattern and like the Bible calls us, you got to stand firm. That's exactly what we're doing today. We're not chasing anything. We're not going to expand our strike zone. So to speak, we're just going to run the system, run the plays. The model tells us to, and we're going to stick to the theme that works. We're looking for nice low totals early in the season. We're looking for games that we think can go over. It's been successful overall for us, even despite the last couple of days. So today's card is going to stick to that theme. We're going to go with, we got an early game. We're going with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs. Nice low total there. think the wind is blowing in there at Wrigley, but I still like them to go over six and a half. Look wind blowing in. think it managas on the mound for the Cubs. is a classic spot with that low number. You always want to go with the contrarian play and go under it, but I like to go over. think the Cubs may get there themselves. They, like them to get five or six runs against the Pirates. Give me the over six and a half in that one. Boston to St. Louis, like the over seven and a half there. Same theory. We're sticking to finding some nice low total spots and hoping for the over there. And then the final game, the third play of the day, we're going to Houston and Seattle. Also we're going over seven and a half there. So Same theme, same types of plays. We're even getting a lot of the same numbers. We're getting a lot of these seven, seven and a half numbers. And that's where we think we have an edge. So that's what we're doing. We're not trying to guess. We're running the simulations. We're running the models and we're trying to find the two, three or four plays each day that we think gives us the best edge and the best chance at winning. So that's what we're doing. That's what it looks like to stand firm. We're not going to abandon the system because of a bad day or even a bad couple of days. So. Let's get back to what Paul tells us in Corinthians. It's a simple theme, but it's harder to execute. And that is stand firm. Don't get moved. There are things in your life that you know you can count on. They have always been true. They have always been there for you. And no matter what you need to stand firm and be convicted on those. The moment you let somebody move you, you lose your edge. The moment you get off your path that you've been on it, that you know, and that you understand that you committed to. Now you're making things up as you go and that is rarely the successful path. Most people don't lose because they're wrong. They lose because they panic at the first sense that they might be wrong. And that's where we get in our convictions. We study the word, we say our prayers, we try to listen to what God tells us and he will put in your heart those things that you can stand on, those things you can rely on and those things that you know have always been true and will always be true. In closing, I'd love to ask you guys to share this thing, like it, subscribe, do all the things, help me promote this. I know it's a weird concept of talking about gambling and talking about Bible verses and scripture in the same vein, but this is where we are and this is what we're doing right now. So get in your Bible, say your prayers, tell the truth, and God bless.
