- 6:17[SPEAKER_04]: What a quintessential summer we're having.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_04]: A summer like, well, at least when it got to summer it was very summery.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_04]: An average high temperature for July is around seventy-eight.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_04]: So we're still in July, so we're above average.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_04]: And we have been on many days.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_04]: OK, so things are drying out.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_04]: This is the time.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_04]: It's moments like this.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_04]: You're supposed to say things like, you can't really say if it's a, well, so warm at night, you're not going to say good sleeping weather, but the other big bromide for some of you is.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: Well, if our moves need to rain.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they may, but they're not getting it at the moment.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_04]: So it doesn't look like they're going to get it.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_04]: uh... seven five five twelve forty the phone number if you'd like to give us a house many do form a fair draft smith how did you yesterday on a live at five shows got the rest of the week to do you tell me i listened i got my transistor radio shag radio out set of the bar because i was over there working and and uh... goodness gracious i listen to the show was that you did a good job soft spoken you know answered the questions the doff called in of course
- 7:25[SPEAKER_04]: uh... some other folks do so you tell me how to do to answer all the questions are there more things to inquire about some people say it was didn't get down in the specifics enough you know there's some people who still live in breathe the last five years and uh... every day and uh... you know for them it was difficult they want to know where that ethics complete come from well i tell you came from an attorney out of Rochester he collected up
- 7:54[SPEAKER_04]: You could tell he was bad news.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_04]: I watched some meetings before I got sick.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_04]: I said, what is he doing interrupting the council meeting, getting involved in the back and forth, chastising a councilman who's also his client?
- 8:07[SPEAKER_04]: And I knew that was trouble.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_04]: That guy was the one, I think, hooked up the whole thing.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_04]: And then obviously the city paid him to do it.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_04]: All of that.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_04]: But no one would have thought of that idea of using an ethics thing.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_04]: pushing a narrative through there and using that as a means of voting someone off.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_04]: No one had ever thought of that before.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't just a gen, something of the originator on the council because somebody talked about something that was in secret session.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't, I don't buy that.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_04]: Was that guy?
- 8:39[SPEAKER_04]: But he's gone.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_04]: They got rid of him.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_04]: They got another lawyer down.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't like Cliff either apparently.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_04]: I see where she wrote, yeah, I got him the news find that she wrote a letter to the attorney general.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_04]: Mr. Olnie says he's responding to it.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_04]: He put out a press release this morning, ripping it her a bit.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_04]: Says he's going to introduce a resolution to change attorneys.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_04]: Says he has the votes.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't make this stuff up.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_04]: I talked to the players.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_04]: I'll talk to Mayor Smith.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_04]: I even talked to the guy that we're not supposed to talk about.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_04]: I talked to him.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have six thousand phone calls yet, but I'm working on it.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_04]: I'm working on it.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_04]: Seven, five, five, twelve, forty, the phone number if you'd like to give us a call, what a horrible shooting in New York City.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_04]: Now, let's not be naive about this.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_04]: If that had happened in Omaha, it would have been a fairly brief mention on the news because it was in the middle of Manhattan and involved a signature property and all of Park Avenue property, it becomes more news.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_04]: That's just the way life is.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_04]: But it was terrible thing, and as this guy who did the shootie, he got in his car and Vegas drove all the way across the country, it looks like virtually nonstop.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_04]: Double Park's BMW, of course, had a BMW.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_04]: And pulled out his rifle with a suppressor.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_04]: I must have really, can't the Hoco must have been beside herself, and she found out there was a suppressor on a gun.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_04]: and uh... thirty uh... round met magazine and and went into this building on park avenue and shot and killed a uh... police officer was working a side job doing security young thirty six year old man of the wife two kids and another one on the way now mongdomy i'm in one of these sat about that or he wanted to be from the police can get rid of it anyway uh...
- 10:39[SPEAKER_04]: And this guy's going to be the next mayor.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_04]: Oh boy.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, let's see.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_04]: And then he shot some other shot of blackstone executive, a woman killed her, killed two others.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_04]: I think somebody got wounded.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_04]: He went to get in the elevator.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_04]: And the door is open and a woman walked out and he let her go.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_04]: She's probably thanking her lucky stars today.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_04]: But he wanted to go to the NFL National Football League offices, which were apparently the head offices are in that building.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_04]: Because now this is what's being shot like, wow, this is an excuse.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_04]: He killed four people.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_04]: Then he killed himself.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_04]: Um, any death is a tragedy, of course.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_04]: So five people and wounded somebody else.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_04]: But now we're being told, well, he had mental health, but well, mental health is a real thing.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_04]: And God knows we do a lousy job of addressing it and society.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_04]: Then he wanted to go to the NFL offices because he had CTE.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_04]: That's where you get the too many concussions in your whacked in the head.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_04]: And like that's an excuse for doing this.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not sure it is.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's like that Luigi Manjoni guy.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, he's wonderful.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_04]: We're doing a, we're going to create a musical about him and he's so good looking and I, you know, all of that stuff and it's like, come on, these people are stone cold, cold blooded murders.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_04]: Um, anybody who murdered somebody has contributing factors, whether it was upbringing, whether it was a grudge, whether it was the illness, whether it was resentment, whether it was, well, nobody just kills somebody for the hell of it.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, probably is somebody out there, but they had some kind of deep-seated reason.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_04]: So, let's not excuse this dude from Las Vegas.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, what have made me last night was, it happened around six, thirty by ten, thirty, the press conference, the commissioner, there was,
- 12:34[SPEAKER_04]: They had all the goods on the guy.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_04]: They knew all about him already.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_04]: So quick work.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_04]: But it is what it is.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's not acceptable.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_04]: I don't care if you had a rough time in the football field.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_04]: Be nice if somebody had helped him out in Vegas, but I mean, that's not just your flipped out in a moment there and did something.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_04]: like P. Diddy does out in the hallway of hotels yeah uh... this was like you drove all the way across country you know a lot of time to think about it you know i don't know what you hope to accomplish in the NFL office is about kill a secretary or something i don't know if the commissioner was up there it was a comment that peat rose out anymore and that other guy anyway uh... and i don't know the whole thing is just said
- 13:23[SPEAKER_04]: Cheddar cheese in Adam's cheddar cheese festival coming up.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_04]: Marley Norfolk's going to be here Marlene and her husband, Frederick, devoted, caught listeners, devoted.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_04]: And she's going to come in and talk about the cheese festival and what they got going on.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, maybe a little city politician ever known, you know, that type of thing.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see, oh, that house on pine street with it, the homeless thing a while ago, and then they closed it, sold to somebody else for five hundred and fifty k. Oh, they make use of it or something.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_04]: It's a pretty good sale price.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_04]: Pretty good sale price.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_04]: And what else is going on?
- 14:06[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, did I just see a son add on the news?
- 14:09[SPEAKER_04]: The old caddies up in Lott West Garthage is now the West Side Byron girl.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, if you tell Kerry about that, maybe she can come up and talk to him about something.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_04]: But Glenn's not here, so I can't give him the tip.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, look like a nice place.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_04]: And nice add on TV.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_04]: And what else were you going in?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, up in Ogden's bird.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_04]: They got a charter for me.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_04]: and the recommending that they get rid of any kind of requirement that the city manager or city clerk live in the city.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_04]: What they're saying is this place sucks, we don't want to live here and you shouldn't either.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_04]: Why can't we have a situation where we allow the elected officials not to live in the city?
- 14:48[SPEAKER_04]: and let them run the city and then we can get all these lawyers live out the town of water town on a kagwin road or something and they could be mayor or something like that gets some extra money to add to their you know they already are in a retirement system because they're doing town works somewhere so i mean they could be a great scam yeah and they wouldn't have the indignity of living in the city now i can suppose a little tougher to live in in water town i'm not gonna lie
- 15:13[SPEAKER_04]: I got a lie.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_04]: I know some maple city natives and it's a little tougher up there, but still there are nice streets and you know how can you be committed to making the city better if you say I'm out of here.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_04]: I like your paycheck.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_04]: Why are cities up there?
- 15:30[SPEAKER_04]: You know, popular spot well because these, I tend to bureaucrats can get in there and the cities have money because they have the ability to access sales tax money, if you're through prayer, preemption or agreement, and they get more state aid than a town or a village would.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_04]: So there's money to be made there.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_04]: And then they want to raise the mayor's salary and I just worked to ten thousand and come on, man.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_04]: It is silly.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that's a lot of money.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_04]: They'll sit there and pay somebody, under the seventy-five thousand or something.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was home-crucking burgers, well, calamity rains out in the town of what you might call it.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_04]: And then they worry about paying a mayor, ten thousand bucks.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_04]: No, they should scrap all that stuff.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_04]: I guess we're just got one, under ten thousand people, no, not that many people there.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, town of Missina has more, they don't have a town manager, they pay a hundred and something thousands through.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_04]: You know, they have an elected official that runs it.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_04]: Same thing with water town.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, don't get me wrong.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_04]: You're always supposed to say, well, Eric's an ice guy.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_04]: He is a nice guy.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_04]: But goodness gracious.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, I don't know what's going to happen at the council meeting next week.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_04]: Only says he's fired up, but I think he's got a lot of grievances and ideas, but he's got to follow through.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_04]: You know, the thing about Cliff only is he, he makes some points about what they're doing to him, but then he tries to be their friend.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_04]: He thinks these people are going to be their friend.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_04]: They never will be.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_04]: He's not going to have they hate him.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_04]: They'll have calendars in their offices, ex and off the days.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so he's gone.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_04]: So that's basically that.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what to say about it, but we'll see on Monday whether he follows through with someone.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_04]: He says he's got the votes change attorneys.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_04]: He wants to get, now we want somebody local, but he says, at least within the county.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_04]: If you go with in-house counsel, they're going to be paying that person a couple hundred, two, fifty a year.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_04]: Now, somebody making that, can't suffer the indignity of living in the four hundred block of flower oven to west if you ask them to.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_04]: I want to live out on the East Jesus Road in the town of what you're my call it.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_04]: But can you pay me a little more?
- 17:59[SPEAKER_04]: Can I get my standard rays and all of that stuff?
- 18:03[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, it's something.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_04]: They've created.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_04]: This, this, uh, I don't know what you call it.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_04]: I don't like to delete.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_04]: And a lot of it go, you know, that's why Danqu was created and all of this other stuff.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_04]: They don't want.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_04]: democracy.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_04]: Even the Democrats who say they want democracy like only they don't really want democracy.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_04]: You'd like somebody you elect in their accountable.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_04]: Something's wrong and you can call them as wrong.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_04]: And they're going to do something.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_04]: That's just my opinion.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know about Mr. Holy what he's going to do on Monday, but he better have a plan.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_04]: He's running out of meetings.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_04]: If he's going to make some hay here.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_04]: Because I don't know, I guess he gets along with Mr. Vajaria, but the rest of him, and I don't know about shone, I feel like so.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_04]: But clearly, the mayor doesn't like Cliff Olney, and God knows Dr. Kimble hates his guts.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_04]: And so does everybody else.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_04]: They're done.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, the city attorney, he blasted her.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_04]: What did he say about her?
- 19:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's a press release.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_04]: Again, it's nothing out of school here.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_04]: It's a press release that went to all the media and I read it.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_04]: What's wrong with me reading it?
- 19:25[SPEAKER_04]: Well, he said that, oh goodness.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_04]: He says he's going to file a complaint with the AG and Comptroller against the lawyers.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_04]: Mr. Only says that the attorney Ms.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_04]: Smith is shielding Ms.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_04]: Conduct and avoiding accountability.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_04]: He also disputed her claim to recusal from the whole affairs, saying she's very much involved in it.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_04]: That does appear to be the case if you read that letter that came out last week.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_04]: The one is sitting right here.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what to make of it all, but maybe you can ask me or Smith about it, in five or five or five, ten after five.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't know.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_04]: You see, some people say, well, you promote cliff.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_04]: I've criticized Mr. Olnie and a lot of things.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_04]: Trust me.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_04]: And I tell him that if I talk to him.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_04]: But I do talk to him.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_04]: I'll talk to him.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_04]: I did this morning.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_04]: I'll talk to former Mayor Smith.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_04]: I'll even talk to the guy who had the six thousand tax messages.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, see what I saw in his mind.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_04]: Because, you know, I'm a straight down the middle type of character.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_04]: So I just try to present these few points.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, there'll be a time when people like me are gone.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_04]: The ones who understand how the system works and doesn't work.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll be one nation under dank.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, some bureaucrat you never heard of and don't know who he is.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_04]: We'll be running everything.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_04]: And maybe the world will be a better place.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's what we want.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_04]: All right, three one five seven five five twelve forty is the phone number.

- 21:28[SPEAKER_04]: and his take on things.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_04]: The other council candidate so far, they're kind of avoiding that.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_04]: One of them said, I don't want to be on there because I don't want, I don't want to have to deal with the rest of the family.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know why, but they don't want to have to.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_04]: And this one person said to me, well, he's not from water town.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, care if anybody else is.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_04]: So what's the matter if he calls in and, you know, he doesn't really attack the candidate.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_04]: So I don't think he attacks Velasquez.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_04]: He was nice to him.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_04]: offer them a few tips and just made some observations.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_04]: But if the price of getting you to do a podcast is you don't have rust family on air.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_04]: I'll pay that price and tell us.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_04]: Stay home.

- 25:42[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_04]: You're one at all.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_04]: Here we are in the hotline.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_04]: I think Russ is going to call in as a matter of fact.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_04]: I think everybody's out in the pool.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, a lot of people are out in the pool.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of people have pools.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_04]: I know people have pools.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_04]: I don't even want pools, but they still have them.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_04]: And it's a good day to be out in a nice and hot, and all of that stuff.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_04]: Um, true beats taking a bath to you know.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_04]: Seven five five twelve forty is the phone number if you'd like to give us a call to be on the air.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon here on the air.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_08]: Good afternoon there.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Russ Finley from Lisbon, how are you?
- 26:19[SPEAKER_08]: Well, you know, I'm kind of personally crushed because, um,
- 26:25[SPEAKER_08]: You know, people don't want people from water town don't want to talk to me.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_08]: They don't want me interjecting.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_08]: I'm crushed.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_08]: I'm just going to have to stay at the farm and bury my head.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_04]: There you go.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, listen, I'm is at the time here.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_04]: We're supposed to say the farmers need the rain.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_04]: What's the situation?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_08]: It's dried out pretty good.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_08]: The ground was really, really wet.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_08]: It had some planting issues at my farm.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_08]: because I rented some land to another farmer that lost four hundred acres of solar panels, and the ground was really wet, but now it's drying out pretty good, and yeah, we could use a storm or two.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_04]: How do you lose for it?
- 27:01[SPEAKER_04]: Me and he rented his property to a solar company?
- 27:04[SPEAKER_08]: No.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_08]: They had farmers had aged out of the business, and they still kept their land, and they were renting the land off of this farm, and then
- 27:17[SPEAKER_08]: They came in and just started sticking those stupid solar panels everywhere, so two farms right across the road for each other.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_08]: They ended up losing four hundred acres.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I see.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_04]: They were renting from somebody else.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_04]: How much money do you get for putting those things on your farm or on your land?
- 27:34[SPEAKER_08]: They're, say Lawrence County's averaging, fifteen hundred dollars per acre per year.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_08]: For a twenty-year contract.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_04]: So, four hundred acres times fifteen hundred, it's pretty good, right?
- 27:47[SPEAKER_08]: Pretty good, chunk of change.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'd take it.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_08]: Sure beats working.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_08]: Well, St.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_08]: Lawrence County within years gonna end up losing a little over four thousand acres to solar panels, just St.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_08]: Lawrence County.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_08]: Three thousand of which are about tillable lands, so you're looking at, you know, three thousand acres, you're losing
- 28:13[SPEAKER_08]: fifteen hundred to two thousand headed dairy cattle twenty five hundred head of beef cattle ten twelve million pounds of corn or you know thirteen million pounds of soybean so when people are bitching about the cost of food you know saying when you're driving by all these uh... jiffy pop toaster a raise sticking up all over the place and on your way to the grocery store that's why the cost of food is going up
- 28:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, what are you gonna do?
- 28:44[SPEAKER_04]: What are you gonna do?
- 28:46[SPEAKER_04]: Um, not much else going on down here.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_04]: We've got the, um, I see you got a charter commission in, uh, Ogden's bird.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_08]: But it, it's just dumb.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, Ogden's bird technically by law can't even be a city at this point because in New York to meet the limits for a city you have to have over ten thousand people.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_08]: and Ogden'sburg is like ninety one hundred people right now.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_08]: So it's not even legitimately a city.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_04]: Well, little false, that's under ten thousand.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_08]: It's one of those things where it's such a pain to get it taken away from the city and absorb it into another town that the state would have to get involved
- 29:37[SPEAKER_08]: and they don't usually do it and Ogden'sburg would be a nightmare because who's going to take Ogden'sburg is it going to be Lisbon or is it going to be Oswagachi because it's kind of the city's kind of split down the middle was been lying in the Oswagachi lying so who would absorb it and either town wants it right right well it's it and they're proposing they want to pay the mayor ten thousand dollars he that's a lot of money
- 30:06[SPEAKER_08]: Well, it's ten thousand more than he's worth because the guy is not really good of a mayor.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_04]: Well, aren't we getting what we pay for though?
- 30:17[SPEAKER_04]: We try to lowball this stuff.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_04]: We've got a, you know, like in Watertown, it's a state system, but there's a part-time city judge works one day a week gets full benefits and retirement and medical and all that.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_04]: And then they keep running around saying, well, the mayor is a part of time.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_04]: You shouldn't get anything.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_04]: And you get what you pay for.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_04]: But you know, we'll pay.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the police chief makes a buck forty five and, you know, the, I don't even know what city manager makes.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_08]: And it's very Scott more detectives than they do cops.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, we've got a full time fire department that's fine.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_08]: We need it.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_08]: They do a lot of stuff.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_08]: But it, it,
- 30:56[SPEAKER_08]: Is there just getting crazy with this stuff and it's gotten to the point and to expound on what you've been saying?
- 31:05[SPEAKER_08]: None of these, none of these people was city jobs living in the city anymore.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_08]: And that to me is just absolutely wrong.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_08]: It hits.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_04]: I know and would direct your positive, they didn't even have to come in and get their track.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_08]: Well, exactly.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_08]: Internet being everywhere now you don't even have to come into the office so you can You've got a mayor that does have to live in the city that's paid nothing and shows up one day a week for a city council meeting and then you've got a city manager making stupid money who doesn't live in the city and what who's this guy that got a city manager now
- 31:51[SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_08]: I haven't really followed who the city manager is now because everyone they've had, they hired a guy from Arizona that never seen snow before and he came up here in the first snowstorm.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_08]: Slid is BMW across Fort Street and bumped into a building and that was it.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_08]: He was on the job about a whole hot four days and then before that we had that woman that was a train rack and everybody complained about her and wanted to get rid of her.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_08]: And finally, they got rid of her with eighteen months left in her contract and agreed to pay her the next eighteen months.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_08]: Wow.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_08]: Instead of just fire in her.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_08]: And again, it's the same thing in water town.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_08]: Your guy down there, good guy.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_08]: Highly qualified.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_08]: If he wants the job, he should be a city resident.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_08]: You know, you got to have some skim in the game.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_08]: Water town taxpayer money.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_08]: should not be going to fund the salaries of people who do not live in the city and pay city taxes.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, let's get in bed.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_04]: Boy, there are almost people I saw another one sitting over this shopping cart next to the fountain on the square where I came to work today.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_04]: And they're all over the place.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_04]: They were a whole bunch of them arrested over the weekend for starting campfires in various spots in the city and doing all it.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_04]: We've become like LA here in a mini way.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I saw a couple camped out in the little stretch of wood by the pond over at Walmart, knocked in the burq the other day and another guy crashed out under a tree in front of walls.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_08]: So they're everywhere and I don't know why.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, there he jobs out there.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_08]: There's with the way New York's welfare system is.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_08]: Get a job.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_08]: Do something.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_08]: The Donald's Burger King.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_08]: It doesn't matter.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_08]: the state will, you know, you and I will gladly subsidize portions of their income enough to get them a house.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_08]: It's almost like these people just, they don't want it.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_08]: They're here to hear about older mentally ill, their drug ad, whatever.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's what they tried to say with this guy who shot the people in Manhattan last night.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_04]: He had CTE, the football head injury, and which is, unfortunately, I wish he had gotten treated for, but
- 34:17[SPEAKER_08]: goodness gracious does that give you the opportunity to hop into your car drive cross country without stopping and then run into an office building and try to storm the NFL offices you know what floor he got the wrong floor but uh... well he let let's let's look at this i mean there's more to who said he had he did we've got no diagnosis we've got no proof the guy was driving a BMW which means he was making out all right he had a
- 34:46[SPEAKER_08]: upon that old state arm reversion of an M for which it's a five hundred dollar gun okay fine but he had to pass the background check he had a suppressor on it to get the suppressor you got to pay the two hundred dollar tax stamp you got to pay for the suppressor which actually is more than you know the suppressor in the tax stamp
- 35:10[SPEAKER_08]: was more than the gun.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_08]: So let's say he had twelve hundred bucks into it.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_08]: So he's driving a BMW.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_08]: He's got a twelve hundred dollar gun.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_08]: You've got to pass a background check for the suppressor.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_08]: You've got to pass a background check for the gun.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_08]: You've got to do all these things.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_08]: And so, you know, all of a sudden this guy's claiming, you know, mental illness and all these problems.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_08]: Well, obviously his life wasn't going that bad.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_08]: If he had all those things in a clean criminal record,
- 35:39[SPEAKER_08]: it seems to you know there's there's more there's more to this story and no nobody has a right to go to drive across country and shoot up anything nobody has a legitimate reason to drive across the street and shoot things up but I don't care what course he's hopeful says with all this crap going on in the illegal coming across the border and everything I I'm
- 36:07[SPEAKER_04]: then after what happened in Michigan the other day with that guy just walk around walmart slash and people yeah uh... i i i i make sure that you know it's a tough thing because of you that to me unfortunately one of the victims of this the police officer was a bangladesh native which used to be east pakistan for those of you who are old and uh... at a wife two kids and another kid on the way
- 36:32[SPEAKER_04]: was working an extra job doing security at this office building to try to make some make ends meet, which is hard to do in New York.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, so we don't want to bash foreigners in this guy.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_08]: This guy, maybe he was born in Baguadash, but he came to the United States to be an American.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_08]: That's the thing.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sick of this.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, we're a nation of immigrants.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_08]: No, we're a nation of Americans.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_08]: You come to America to be an American.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_08]: And this guy came to America the right way.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_08]: He was legal and he gave his life to service and, you know, becoming a police officer and doing the American thing and saying, I need more.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not asking anybody else.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_08]: I'm going to take on a part-time job because I've got, you know, two kids in one on the way that I need to be responsible for.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_08]: and so he's he's exactly what this country is looking for and I feel horrible for him but it's not the gun it's not the suppressor it's the idiot that did this and the thing if it is is you know
- 37:46[SPEAKER_08]: They turn New York City into a gun-free zone, especially Manhattan into a gun-free zone, this guy parked two blocks away, and walked down the street in New York City carrying a rifle, and nobody paid attention to him, nobody looked at him, and he just walked down the street, you know, you know, you know, you're right.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_08]: Nobody called the cops, nobody did anything until after the problem had already ensued.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_04]: Well, anyway, uh... he's dead so that's a good thing I guess.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, well, I didn't ask the other thing.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sick of this five people died.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_08]: No four people died.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_08]: I did this guy as a subhuman.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_08]: He doesn't get to count on the statistics.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_08]: He took himself out.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_08]: And they just don't fight people died because of gun violence.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_08]: No.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_08]: Four people died because of a gunmen.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_08]: Because of a murderer.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_08]: And then this guy took himself out, he doesn't count.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_08]: And the other thing, I got a throw a little jab at water town.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_08]: And as I've repeatedly said, I'm not a cliff fan, but he's a hundred percent right.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_08]: This attorney that you guys got is an idiot.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_08]: foil request is foil request.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_08]: They don't get to, they can, the only thing in a foil request that they can redact is names.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_08]: But financial disclosures, expenditures, stuff like that.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_08]: That's the purpose of a foil request.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_08]: So this attorney asking for a determination from the attorney general?
- 39:23[SPEAKER_08]: No.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_08]: No.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, first of all, you don't ask for a determination from the attorney general.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_08]: And second of all, if you need a determination, then you should be filing an article, seven to eight, and putting it in front of a judge to try and block the foil request.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_08]: so that that just shows me a level with incompetence that I'm wondering if she the either way through the bar exam.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_04]: Well I don't know I don't know anything about her or anything else so uh... well to wait and see on all of that but it's a it's an ongoing fight and mr. only uh... we got five months left and they're just counting the day so aren't they?
- 40:03[SPEAKER_08]: uh... yeah that's the thing they're gonna run obstruction and they're gonna do anything
- 40:07[SPEAKER_08]: But the thing of it is, it doesn't make a difference.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_08]: Even once Cliff is out of office, he can still pursue foil requests.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_08]: And the city's going to have to request.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_08]: The city's going to have to go to court to block him from doing it.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_08]: And Cliff is in the driver's seat.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_08]: So rather he's still a city council member, or he's just a citizen.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_08]: He's in the right and the city had better just given the information he wants and quit fighting him.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because nobody's going to do anything.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_08]: They're just rackin' up billable hours.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_04]: Nobody's going to do anything.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_04]: If we get a look at those redacted billing records to Harris Beach, so what?
- 40:44[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, what are you going to do about it?
- 40:45[SPEAKER_04]: Money's already spent.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_04]: You're not going to get it back.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't understand what the whole profile is.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_04]: Other than
- 40:57[SPEAKER_04]: Well, they're all in on it.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_04]: And unfortunately, some dumb decisions in terms of what this ultimately came down to is with Mayor Smith, and he lost a vote three to two on a couple of issues.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_04]: And I don't agree with the vote that we stay.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_04]: I don't agree with the money that we spent.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_04]: But that's the system.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_04]: People vote on things.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_08]: mall that that's why you elect these people and you know you hopefully you elect people that are going to do the right thing for you and especially your wallet and those those stupid votes resulted in hurting the city of water towns wallet and forever yeah but you know fight filing retaliatory ethics complaints and then using an attorney in building the city that's that's just absolutely wrong okay
- 41:51[SPEAKER_04]: Well, listen, I got another call, Ross, so I got to take that call and I appreciate you filling in.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: Talk to you.

- 42:19[SPEAKER_04]: We don't need to hear about the bikinis in the park, but you're saying they altered the speed bumps.

- 53:05[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know all the attorneys in town really.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's a couple of.

- 53:16[SPEAKER_04]: The rest I don't know.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to judge.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_04]: But in any event, you know, they say this is why the city can't get a in-house attorney because there's so much controversy and discussion of things.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_04]: Well, what do we got going on there, a story on TV about mermaiding, people dressing as mermaids?
- 53:39[SPEAKER_04]: I never liked those kind of costumes.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_04]: You ain't to have your body confined in that way, and it's, you know, when you think of the notion of a mermaid, and I know somebody has an obsession with them, collects statues and all that stuff, but when you look at a mermaid, it's really a rather disgusting thing, you know, the
- 53:57[SPEAKER_04]: You know, beautiful top half of, you know, like the movie Splash, you know, and then a fish.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_04]: Scaly fish.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_04]: It just doesn't understand the concept, understand, you know, the whole thing from, you know, when using it as a mascot and the ball of a boat or something, but I never really thought it was an appealing concept.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_04]: Half woman, half fish.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_04]: And it'd be even less appealing if the top half were the fifth, you know, that would be even.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I don't know.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_04]: Depends.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_04]: Seven, five, five, twelve, forty the phone number.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_04]: If you'd like to give us a call, eighty five degrees in the big town right now.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_04]: And we expect a high today near eighty seven with Westwind seven to ten miles an hour partly cloudy, lower round.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_04]: pair of sixes tonight.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, pair of sixes, and then tomorrow up to eighty three, then a chance of a tea storm tomorrow night, and it gets cooler by Thursday, will have a high of Thursday will be a really nice day, high of seventy six.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_04]: So we got some good days.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_04]: The weekend looks like it's just going to be simply gorgeous.

- 55:12[SPEAKER_04]: All right, seven, five, five, well, forty the phone number.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_04]: If you'd like to be on the air today, there you go.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_04]: Just a couple of minutes left to be chattering.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_04]: But what are they saying for Saturday, sunny, high near seventy nine.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_04]: Dido on Sunday, high near eighty one.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_04]: And Monday, a little warmer, sunny, and high of eighty four, you can't ask for better weather than that to usher in the month of August.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_04]: So get out there and enjoy the repuls and enjoy the city pools, both of them.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_04]: one over in the north side and the park and the splash pads and all that I mean it's there paid for and as well use it okay I was reading there was a story on the of those fees they were collecting at the pools if collected forty five hundred dollars is summer they'd budgeted five thousand so they're gonna make that that's for out of city residents yeah
- 56:07[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I don't know why we penalized out of city residents in that venue, but not other, but that's another story for another day.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah.
- 56:18[SPEAKER_04]: Well, but how much time and effort is it?
- 56:21[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I remember when the wreck department had a heck of a time keep in track of people writing checks for like ice time and all that stuff.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_04]: Remember that?
- 56:30[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_04]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_17]: Hey, man, how are you going today?
- 56:35[SPEAKER_04]: You're out.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_04]: What's up?
- 56:39[SPEAKER_17]: I'm pretty sure Glenn said that he had a company coming in from out of town is going to be up to the cottage.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_03]: You may not.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_03]: Any other call?
- 56:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_17]: These idiots that try to make print calls, I can't you do something with them, but I have them arrested or anything.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, we can, you know, we can dump them out and, you know, something we're actually saying.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_04]: It's silly.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_04]: It's, you know, I don't know whether it's CTE or what it is.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_17]: I just can't imagine what kind of world they live in, you know, with their brains.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, I'm not sure we're like, all right, thank you.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_04]: Seven, five, five, twelve, forty, the phone number, and you can be on a hotline.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_04]: We got about a minute and a half left, plenty of time to get it.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_04]: We didn't hear from the angry man today.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_04]: The angry man, I think he called didn't he call in from air Smith yesterday.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of confusion.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_04]: I noticed when I was listening to all the questions, people are confused about the golf course versus the state police versus the ethics versus this and who's representing who when it is complicated.
