- 0:02Speaker 1: All right, now.
- 0:09Speaker 2: You probably spent the weekend watching that new Tron trailer.
- 0:14Speaker 2: It's they're getting ready for a big presentation at San
- 0:17Speaker 2: Diego Comic Con coming up here in a few days.
- 0:20Speaker 1: They had signs all over San Diego when I was
- 0:23Speaker 1: just there, all the street signs hanging down all it's all.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Tron and we're of course playing the new nine inch nails.
- 0:29Speaker 2: So uh, Superman still making making the money. But this weekend,
- 0:36Speaker 2: Fantastic four First Steps opens. Now it has been screened
- 0:41Speaker 2: on Monday.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Did you see it? Did not?
- 0:44Speaker 2: I'm going on Wednesday, but I'll be I'll be gone,
- 0:48Speaker 2: you know, so I won't be a by follow my
- 0:50Speaker 2: social media maybe i'll maybe i'll review it there.
- 0:53Speaker 1: But yeah, I'm gonna see it Wednesday night. But so
- 0:56Speaker 1: far the reviews are quite glowing, actually good.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Fantastic four is a story about family above all, else
- 1:05Speaker 2: where each member of the team is equally important, no
- 1:08Speaker 2: one is underserved. The movie excels when fleshing out the
- 1:11Speaker 2: various bonds between the four characters. Fantastic four rocks more
- 1:17Speaker 2: than any Marvel movie before it.
- 1:19Speaker 1: F that's pretty well, let me finish.
- 1:21Speaker 2: F four feels like Jack Kirby's imagination brought to life
- 1:24Speaker 2: on screen.
- 1:25Speaker 1: That's what they're saying.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Between this and Superman, twenty twenty five might go down
- 1:31Speaker 2: as the year movies finally embrace the wonderful.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Weirdness of comic books. Okay, let's see.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Many will say Fantastic four is fantastic. They'll be right
- 1:40Speaker 2: for several reasons. The four main cast members are excellent,
- 1:44Speaker 2: the score is memorable, the sixties retro futuristic production design
- 1:48Speaker 2: and visual effects are excellent. See it in imax, so
- 1:57Speaker 2: it's looking good. My standout is Vanessa Krbius siux Storm.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I will die for you. You are perfect.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Wow. An image does not come to mind.
- 2:08Speaker 2: She's a pretty blund She's British. She's been in a
- 2:12Speaker 2: bunch of stuff that I've not seen anyway.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Looking forward to it. Judge Dread, we're doing this again now.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Judge Dread was a.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Pretty good comic book from the seventies, and then it.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Was not such a good movie.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It was slaughtered by Sylvester Stallone because the whole conceit
- 2:36Speaker 2: of Judge Dread as he never takes his helmet off.
- 2:39Speaker 1: But you can't have Sylvester Stallone exactly and people who
- 2:43Speaker 1: want to see my face.
- 2:45Speaker 2: But then the Judge Dread movie with Carl Urban came along,
- 2:51Speaker 2: and that was good. That one was closer to the
- 2:54Speaker 2: comic book than anything, and he didn't take his helmet off. Well,
- 3:00Speaker 2: they wanted they want to try it again, and so
- 3:04Speaker 2: they've got Taika Waiti as Judge Dredd no to to
- 3:09Speaker 2: to direct. He is he's going to direct it. Drew Pierce.
- 3:15Speaker 2: He and Drew Pierce are friends. Apparently they've been looking
- 3:17Speaker 2: for something that they could work on together. Okay, Drew
- 3:21Speaker 2: Pearce did Fall Guy, Mission Impossible, Roade Nation, and uh yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 2: he's gonna He's gonna direct it. They want to make
- 3:27Speaker 2: a whole Judge Dread universe type thing, because there are
- 3:30Speaker 2: many many characters in the Judge Dread universe. But I
- 3:33Speaker 2: will say that this probably won't happen that well. I'll
- 3:38Speaker 2: just add it to the list of other projects that
- 3:40Speaker 2: Taika wa Titi is working on. His Star Wars movie,
- 3:43Speaker 2: his Flash Gordon movie, his Akira movie is actually working
- 3:47Speaker 2: on those, his Werewolves TV series, his Netflix series about
- 3:52Speaker 2: Roald Doll.
- 3:53Speaker 1: What does just tell us about? Yeah?
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah, he can't seem to focus on one thing. Anyway,
- 4:00Speaker 2: So if it happens, it I don't think it's what
- 4:04Speaker 2: will probably happen. And I don't know if this is
- 4:07Speaker 2: such a good idea either Captain Planet and the Planeteers
- 4:12Speaker 2: remember that cartoon.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not a good idea. Live action.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Netflix has got Greg Burlanti, who did most of the
- 4:23Speaker 2: superhero shows on the CW.
- 4:27Speaker 1: To the young teens that are well, that's that's part
- 4:30Speaker 1: of the show.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I mean, you know it's it's it's Captain Planet and
- 4:34Speaker 2: the Planeteers, his planeteers.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I And somehow Leonardo DiCaprio is involved. He's producing it.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I liked it as a kid. I guess I don't
- 4:46Speaker 1: know when did Captain Planet go woke?
- 4:50Speaker 2: Good Heavens The comic book Invincible. Of course, the the
- 4:57Speaker 2: animated series is on Prime video. We're still waiting for
- 5:03Speaker 2: season four and they've said, oh, go ahead and make
- 5:05Speaker 2: season five too, So it's not going away anytime soon.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And if my inside sources are correct, you're probably going
- 5:14Speaker 2: to be looking at maybe eight seasons because he wants,
- 5:19Speaker 2: you know, Kirkman wants to do the entire run of
- 5:22Speaker 2: the Invincible comic just animated. Though we got the Assassin's
- 5:26Speaker 2: Creed live action TV series has been greenlit for Netflix.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm surprised it's taken this long.
- 5:32Speaker 2: I am too, But there you go. As long as
- 5:34Speaker 2: there's a convenient haystack, I'll be there. This I'm surprised
- 5:39Speaker 2: took so long. The Hot Wheels movie. John Chu is
- 5:46Speaker 2: going to direct it. He's, of course the guy who
- 5:49Speaker 2: did Wicked and Crazy rich Asis, and he's going to
- 5:53Speaker 2: do the Hot Wheels movie. Just as long as there
- 5:56Speaker 2: are giant orange plastic tracks that you hit your sister with,
- 5:59Speaker 2: that's all I That's all I need in a hockey
- 6:02Speaker 2: list movie. I I didn't realize they were weapons.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah, they hurt
