- 0:00Speaker 1: Ft, juicy and way.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I don't even gang bang because he's so good. Let
- 0:05Speaker 2: me go up a set. Be good kitty kitty, good
- 0:09Speaker 2: kitty kitty, make him up.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Pretty plus it's up.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Fit juicy and Wick.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Don't light them, don't, don't, don't flash by ego doesn't
- 0:23Speaker 4: need any more of that. But what's going on? Everybody?
- 0:26Speaker 1: You heard me?
- 0:28Speaker 4: I'm the one, the only, the w o Okay, I
- 0:30Speaker 4: e a few chicken nuggets short of a happy beatle tonight,
- 0:34Speaker 4: but we found replacements. Replacement nuggets are just as good.
- 0:38Speaker 4: You dust them off, you blow on them. First couple
- 0:41Speaker 4: of bites are a little crunchy, and after that they're fine.
- 0:43Speaker 4: They're fine. But we got the ewoks. Ewok Jr.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Hello, keyboard community. Glad to be apparently a dust offable nugget.
- 0:52Speaker 4: You're not a you are a regular nugget, Pete.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I'm a regular nugget.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Pete is a dusty, dusty nugget.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Pete.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Well show to welcome our guests.
- 1:02Speaker 1: There, man, thank you. It's it's an honor to be here.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I'm happy to be the mandatory grumpy nugget, the.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Grumpy, the grumpy, dusty nugget.
- 1:13Speaker 3: We are so much more than that. Pete Man, we do.
- 1:16Speaker 3: We love you. You are amazing too kind.
- 1:20Speaker 4: But we got tons of stuff we want to go
- 1:22Speaker 4: over today. We're gonna have some fun with this. We
- 1:26Speaker 4: do still have episodes coming out. We are going to
- 1:30Speaker 4: try to do an episode on the key chain thing
- 1:33Speaker 4: that is going on. I don't know, is that still
- 1:34Speaker 4: in beta or is that kind of open to everybody?
- 1:37Speaker 4: It still in beta, So we're gonna get something with that.
- 1:40Speaker 4: We're gonna get an episode on finishing moves, not what
- 1:43Speaker 4: you're thinking is with this show, but you know. And
- 1:48Speaker 4: then we have a special guest coming on here shortly.
- 1:52Speaker 4: We do have to get some schedules worked out, but
- 1:54Speaker 4: we will have Janet on for our six hundredth episodes,
- 1:58Speaker 4: so little little but of calendar work to do there,
- 2:03Speaker 4: but we need to.
- 2:04Speaker 3: And when you when you say six hundredth, are we
- 2:06Speaker 3: looking because I was looking at this, we have a
- 2:09Speaker 3: sheet it's actually a Google sheet that we've been running
- 2:11Speaker 3: for six years with each of our show notes. Yep,
- 2:15Speaker 3: right now at this eppisode are we going based on
- 2:17Speaker 3: how many pages we've hit and so it's really the
- 2:20Speaker 3: six hundredth page? Is this the six hundredth beverage that's
- 2:24Speaker 3: been cracked, while here the six hundredth.
- 2:28Speaker 4: The six hundredth tier Wookie has shed over key Ford,
- 2:32Speaker 4: sucking ass for so many years. I collect them and
- 2:38Speaker 4: I drink them later. Look for that jar at KFC
- 2:43Speaker 4: Wookie's tears. What we have our tier? Other segment? Why
- 2:49Speaker 4: is suck a Keyfards Jr? Has ours this sweet jar?
- 2:51Speaker 4: Why do you suck at Keyford?
- 2:54Speaker 3: Well, so there's this little thing. It's a way to
- 2:57Speaker 3: evaluate decks. Some people use it. You you know, you
- 3:00Speaker 3: as a listener may not have heard of it before.
- 3:03Speaker 3: But Dexa KeyForge. What has anyone here? Have you guys
- 3:07Speaker 3: heard of this thing called Dexic KeyForge?
- 3:09Speaker 4: Do I just google that? I've never heard of Dexa
- 3:11Speaker 4: KeyForge before.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Well, it's kind of the same way that GG markets
- 3:16Speaker 3: and that's just apparently word of mouth from US players.
- 3:18Speaker 3: So that's the best way to get out. But no,
- 3:21Speaker 3: at Dexa Keybordge. Great website that's there. But there is
- 3:25Speaker 3: a nice scoring mechanism and one of my decks recently
- 3:29Speaker 3: that I for the longest time, I could not play
- 3:32Speaker 3: this deck. I could not go ahead and play it
- 3:35Speaker 3: has a great score and other people look at it,
- 3:38Speaker 3: and Pete, it was actually your idea. You're like, hey,
- 3:42Speaker 3: what are you doing with this deck? And I'm like,
- 3:44Speaker 3: you know what, I should probably go ahead and take
- 3:47Speaker 3: this for another train trip. Let's let's just see what
- 3:51Speaker 3: it can do. I played this deck. Cards did not
- 3:55Speaker 3: come together for me. Gave it some time, slight different meta,
- 4:00Speaker 3: not really, but all of a sudden I took some
- 4:04Speaker 3: different lines and this deck just clicked. And this deck
- 4:10Speaker 3: is like firing at this point now. And so Pete,
- 4:13Speaker 3: I have you to thank for this, because I think
- 4:15Speaker 3: that's always one of you know, especially it's one of
- 4:18Speaker 3: the tricks for our com players, is what deck am
- 4:21Speaker 3: I playing? We got vaults coming up, So good luck
- 4:23Speaker 3: to everyone at Rochester this this upcoming weekend. Actually, man,
- 4:27Speaker 3: we are Thursday night, so tomorrow already, so just a
- 4:30Speaker 3: couple hours away.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yep.
- 4:32Speaker 4: We'll get more into Rochester here in the later in
- 4:35Speaker 4: the twilight hours of key Forge, where we've all had
- 4:38Speaker 4: too much to drink and we're just talking shit.
- 4:41Speaker 3: But but I will say, for me, there's a reason
- 4:47Speaker 3: that we have tools in order to evaluate decks, and
- 4:51Speaker 3: I don't believe that decks of keyboard is everything I
- 4:53Speaker 3: want to want that knowing, I definitely think that there's
- 4:55Speaker 3: some decks that are overpowered, and there's some that basically
- 4:59Speaker 3: show a sass. That's that frankly can do a lot
- 5:01Speaker 3: more magic than it's showing. But if decks show up
- 5:06Speaker 3: consistently in that top, it's probably okay to go ahead
- 5:09Speaker 3: and give them a second or third try and take
- 5:12Speaker 3: some different lines. How I was playing the deck previously,
- 5:15Speaker 3: was leaning heavily into one thing and honestly taking a
- 5:18Speaker 3: slightly different pathway exploring that deck. Discovering however, you want
- 5:22Speaker 3: to go ahead and talk about it. It's it now
- 5:27Speaker 3: goes ahead and sings along for me. So that's why
- 5:31Speaker 3: I suck to the Keyforde because apparently I was playing
- 5:32Speaker 3: this deck completely wrong. And so go check out your decks.
- 5:35Speaker 3: See why you're sucking at keyboards too.
- 5:38Speaker 4: See why you're sucking at key forge. All right, thank
- 5:42Speaker 4: you JR. For the why is sucking key Forge fail?
- 5:45Speaker 4: Getting into the meat and potatoes. Now we want to
- 5:47Speaker 4: talk about the Discovery kits. Colossal success are abysmal failure.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Well, while you uh, while we contemplate this, h we
- 5:59Speaker 3: should give our listeners a little background. So discovery kits
- 6:01Speaker 3: had been out and your discovery set to introduce players. Yep,
- 6:09Speaker 3: our local decided to go ahead. As both Sheep and
- 6:12Speaker 3: I kind of looked at it, the Discovery Kit was
- 6:14Speaker 3: basically falling at the same time store championships were, so
- 6:17Speaker 3: it is feast or famine that is part GG and
- 6:20Speaker 3: there was a lot happening, and we're like, you know what,
- 6:22Speaker 3: instead of going ahead and running, hey, welcome to the
- 6:25Speaker 3: Key Forge and then saying hey, next week, turn around
- 6:27Speaker 3: and come join our store Championships, we actually just kind
- 6:32Speaker 3: of pause that. And so we recently just well technically
- 6:35Speaker 3: we're finishing up this month with our Discovery kit, but
- 6:39Speaker 3: we pause until the last couple of weeks to go
- 6:42Speaker 3: ahead and run our discovery kit. So that is why
- 6:45Speaker 3: it's very relevant for us. But it also gave us
- 6:48Speaker 3: time to look and listen to what's happening in the
- 6:51Speaker 3: key Forarde community, go ahead and see, hey, what's the
- 6:55Speaker 3: feedback that others are seeing on this discovery kit. So
- 6:58Speaker 3: with that back, what do we think Pete's what do
- 7:03Speaker 3: we think, Wookie? Was this Discovery kits a success or failure?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Well? Yeah, I think we'd have to call it a
- 7:12Speaker 1: failure based on everything we hear and see in the discords, right,
- 7:16Speaker 1: if that's an all indicative of the broader key Forge
- 7:20Speaker 1: new player base, if such a thing exists, it doesn't
- 7:22Speaker 1: seem to have generated a whole lot of hyper interest
- 7:25Speaker 1: or new bodies. So I would have to call that
- 7:27Speaker 1: a failure, right objectively, I.
- 7:32Speaker 4: As well call while you already know I was going
- 7:33Speaker 4: to call it a failure. So I think this is
- 7:38Speaker 4: this was an abysmal failure. It was a halfway decently again,
- 7:42Speaker 4: it's a standard GGI right, great idea horrible execution.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Well, and I'm actually gonna go ahead and plus here,
- 7:53Speaker 3: I think that like Sheep, I know Sheep is on
- 7:56Speaker 3: remote Dresscore is actually coming in a little bit. He
- 7:58Speaker 3: is actually remote too, be able to look at that
- 8:03Speaker 3: for time in Hey, guys, how's it going, Dras, I'm
- 8:09Speaker 3: in a car. Yeah, these are my favorite episodes where
- 8:18Speaker 3: Drazz is in a car evering here him turning, soy,
- 8:22Speaker 3: thank you so much. This makes my night.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm on the way to Rochester.
- 8:27Speaker 4: Oh yeah, nice, I didn't really Oh yeah, yeah it's
- 8:31Speaker 4: going I forgot. I thought you were on work stuff.
- 8:32Speaker 4: That's why I thought you weren't going to Rochester but no,
- 8:35Speaker 4: and I said.
- 8:35Speaker 3: A couple hours. All right, so where are you you left?
- 8:39Speaker 3: Tell us, tell us where did we leave? And how
- 8:41Speaker 3: far are away are we? At this point?
- 8:43Speaker 5: We are in right now, three hours and fifty six
- 8:47Speaker 5: minutes away, So that's that's a long ways because it
- 8:53Speaker 5: is PM.
- 8:56Speaker 4: So you're ex what right about? Oh ship, that's an
- 8:59Speaker 4: hour time to is it our time differ?
- 9:02Speaker 3: They're they're now thirty there.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Okay, a cool one, am, no big deal.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Hey you're just starting off that vault in a really
- 9:14Speaker 3: prime spot. Are you driving alone? Or do we have
- 9:16Speaker 3: others in the car with you?
- 9:18Speaker 5: Oh? We got metal zoea here. Say hey, all right,
- 9:21Speaker 5: say hey guys. I don't think you can hear him.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Oh yeah, there you go.
- 9:26Speaker 5: There you go, Yeah, metal Zones driving the other the
- 9:31Speaker 5: other locals or other already up there. So we got
- 9:35Speaker 5: Mam and DG's up there. We got King of Ling
- 9:38Speaker 5: up there. Uh, we got uh JJ cob JJ's there. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 5: JJ's up there. Uh so yeah, yeah, we got a
- 9:47Speaker 5: we got a local crew going up there.
- 9:49Speaker 3: So very nice. Well, we'll talk more about Rochester later,
- 9:53Speaker 3: but it's great to hear from you. On the road.
- 9:55Speaker 3: We kind of did pee is here with us as
- 9:58Speaker 3: local because we're talking this Discovery kit, so real quick,
- 10:03Speaker 3: Pete and what he both said that the Discovery Kit,
- 10:06Speaker 3: unfortunately was a failure for you in your local. Did
- 10:10Speaker 3: you guys see Discovery Kid as being a fail as
- 10:12Speaker 3: well or was it a success for you guys in life?
- 10:15Speaker 5: Well, so we actually never got a Discovery Kid.
- 10:20Speaker 3: No, so that that is a failure right there.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Kay, Yeah, that was a little bit of a mistake.
- 10:28Speaker 5: So so what happened was I told my store owner
- 10:31Speaker 5: about Discovery and about how we wanted to do, you know,
- 10:36Speaker 5: I wanted to do some of pants, to do the
- 10:38Speaker 5: cool prizes or whatever, try to attract some folks. And
- 10:41Speaker 5: he's like, oh yeah, I'll get some and then like
- 10:45Speaker 5: they came in and uh, I was like cool, cool, cool,
- 10:50Speaker 5: Like where's the cool stuff. He's like, what are you
- 10:53Speaker 5: talking about. It's like, yeah, where's like all the prizes stuff.
- 10:55Speaker 5: He's like, I just bought some decks, Like oh, so
- 11:00Speaker 5: we have a whole bunch of Discovery decks, but we
- 11:02Speaker 5: didn't get the prizes and stuff. So so this is
- 11:06Speaker 5: right in the middle of store champs, and so I
- 11:12Speaker 5: was like, well, let's let's get through Store Champs and uh,
- 11:17Speaker 5: then I'll figure out if I'm actually gonna ask if
- 11:20Speaker 5: the war stuff and then try to organize an event.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Do you think of a track some folks, you know,
- 11:30Speaker 5: there's there's like a couple of folks who I would
- 11:34Speaker 5: try to come out, try to get them to play.
- 11:39Speaker 3: So what's interesting? Yeah, So what's interesting, Dazz is you're
- 11:42Speaker 3: talking about timing there. And actually i'd shared before you
- 11:46Speaker 3: came on the idea that we actually because it would
- 11:50Speaker 3: have been happening a week before Store Champs. Sheep and
- 11:53Speaker 3: I are like, let's not bring some new players in
- 11:56Speaker 3: because we want to do a learn to play and
- 11:59Speaker 3: kind of build up. Let's go ahead and set this afterwards,
- 12:02Speaker 3: because I think the bad experience would be, hey, come,
- 12:05Speaker 3: come learn to play, and then next week, welcome to
- 12:08Speaker 3: Store Championships. The timing is just feast or famine for Gigi,
- 12:12Speaker 3: and so I think that timing was something that they
- 12:14Speaker 3: could definitely improve upon, just spreading out the love so
- 12:17Speaker 3: that there's something in January February to do and then
- 12:20Speaker 3: build people up. We actually just recently had pushed it
- 12:23Speaker 3: to this time period. But I think you're also speaking
- 12:26Speaker 3: of the difference of Asthma Day versus GG. I cannot
- 12:30Speaker 3: stress this enough. It is extremely confusing to store owners
- 12:33Speaker 3: who are not in this game. I'll make even a
- 12:36Speaker 3: statement that people who are in the game, who are
- 12:39Speaker 3: pretty regular it's confusing. So recently, within the past week,
- 12:44Speaker 3: we heard that what set was out guys, that we
- 12:47Speaker 3: weren't able to get it from Asthma Day anymore.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Oh, tokens of Change.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Yeah, tokens of change. That's correct me. So Tokens of
- 12:55Speaker 3: Changes said, well, it's out, and so now this is
- 12:58Speaker 3: being spread with the local stores. But the short answer
- 13:02Speaker 3: is GG still has tokens of Change, but as Mide doesn't. Yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 3: and it's a weird component to have both of them
- 13:10Speaker 3: kind of running shotgun on the game and kind of
- 13:14Speaker 3: what's there, So it spreads misinformation. I honestly cannot stress enough.
- 13:20Speaker 3: I really want to see one central area for information,
- 13:23Speaker 3: one spot where we can go to, and one way
- 13:25Speaker 3: to be able to publicize or push this game. So
- 13:29Speaker 3: all of that would be really, really important. But Asthmade
- 13:32Speaker 3: versus Gig puts another little hiccup in for your store
- 13:35Speaker 3: owners who aren't maybe they're not playing I mean, Riku,
- 13:38Speaker 3: I love you man, You're running literally Vietnam. But outside
- 13:43Speaker 3: of store owners who are that committed, who are that engaged,
- 13:46Speaker 3: who are setting up for vall tours and for events,
- 13:48Speaker 3: most store owners don't have enough time. They're trying to
- 13:50Speaker 3: balance all these other games that are on their plate,
- 13:53Speaker 3: and I think that's something that GIG has to be
- 13:56Speaker 3: aware of and communicate. I honestly would have preferred to
- 13:59Speaker 3: have seen, Hey, here's a really really reduced rate for
- 14:02Speaker 3: this kit. I'm not even joking, and I know it
- 14:05Speaker 3: wasn't bad as is, but here is the kit to
- 14:09Speaker 3: any of the stores that have been running events. Let's
- 14:11Speaker 3: get it out there. That could be marketing or here's
- 14:14Speaker 3: a nominal fee of here's a dollar five dollars, or
- 14:17Speaker 3: you pay for the shipping. Like finding ways to get
- 14:21Speaker 3: product into these stores where then someone can run it
- 14:25Speaker 3: is so critical right now. And I know that other
- 14:30Speaker 3: episodes other casts have gone ahead and talked about the
- 14:33Speaker 3: importance of the community. I think it is the community,
- 14:35Speaker 3: but I also really think that it is GIGI as
- 14:37Speaker 3: a company needs to step up and needs to do
- 14:40Speaker 3: a lot more than what we're seeing. So unfortunately, our
- 14:43Speaker 3: kit did not generate new players, and I think part
- 14:46Speaker 3: of that is some confusion, some timing issues, but also
- 14:50Speaker 3: kind of well the next large topic, which it is the.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Let's hold on on that. So is the kid really
- 15:03Speaker 5: supposed to in and of itself bring in new players?
- 15:07Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 15:08Speaker 3: No, no, no, it's that's what it is, right, Yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 3: the kids.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Yeah, in theory. I think the theory is you have
- 15:17Speaker 5: a kid like this new player kid, and yeah, we
- 15:22Speaker 5: still as the community to go out find people bring
- 15:25Speaker 5: him in. But then you can give them something cool
- 15:28Speaker 5: that will bring them back. I think that's the objective
- 15:30Speaker 5: of the kid is.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Well.
- 15:34Speaker 3: So, so here here's what I have thought on that.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Like one, the Discovery kit as a as itself looked beautiful,
- 15:42Speaker 3: like it had meat trinkets, the key charms were really cool.
- 15:44Speaker 3: I like that Josh actually built them. Like weekly, Okay,
- 15:50Speaker 3: we can come back. It's easy to play with the
- 15:53Speaker 3: Discovery sets. But who is it being marketed to. It's
- 15:59Speaker 3: only applying to the people who already played KeyForge, Like
- 16:02Speaker 3: if the if it.
- 16:03Speaker 5: Doesn't actually evert us to go find the people, right,
- 16:06Speaker 5: it's not it's not going to be unfortunately anybody else?
- 16:11Speaker 3: Yeah can can I can I speak to that though,
- 16:14Speaker 3: And I know I'm speaking a lot already, but ah it,
- 16:18Speaker 3: I guess that's a point of frustration right now. At
- 16:21Speaker 3: a certain point, it needs to be a mutual partnership
- 16:24Speaker 3: between us as players and the store. But the store's
- 16:28Speaker 3: sorry GG and us, but really GG is not holding
- 16:32Speaker 3: their own I can't speak this enough when we go in.
- 16:36Speaker 3: We've been in our store for what he isn't now
- 16:40Speaker 3: a solid two years.
- 16:41Speaker 4: I thought it was three, but we'll see.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Okay, well it's two it's two years, and then a
- 16:46Speaker 3: couple of months. Okay, so we're at four months almost
- 16:48Speaker 3: five months there. But when we're looking, we actually have
- 16:53Speaker 3: a player who used to play at our old store
- 16:57Speaker 3: that shut down with the pandemic. We lost some individuals there.
- 17:02Speaker 3: That individual used to play key for so we could
- 17:05Speaker 3: talk about them as being a lapse player. They're there
- 17:08Speaker 3: consistently on Tuesdays, the day that we have set up,
- 17:10Speaker 3: which is tricky for people to come out because key
- 17:13Speaker 3: fordge frankly is set up for well middle aged parents.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Can I say that like?
- 17:20Speaker 4: Sure?
- 17:20Speaker 3: People? I mean, yeah, a number of single income like
- 17:24Speaker 3: I'm not in is I'm not tied down with some
- 17:28Speaker 3: commitments right now. But outside of that, we have a
- 17:31Speaker 3: lot of parents who are trying to balance kids sports
- 17:34Speaker 3: in school. And I can go on, but if you're.
- 17:39Speaker 5: Struggling old women playing this game, and i'mlike, I'm like altered, right,
- 17:46Speaker 5: it's just what that Altered cast with Bookie. It's just
- 17:48Speaker 5: like Wookie and some kids, right, and that's who that's
- 17:51Speaker 5: who's not the Altered cast, I think, right.
- 17:53Speaker 3: It is a very young cast. They're Wookie. What do
- 17:55Speaker 3: you have to say to that?
- 17:56Speaker 1: It is?
- 17:57Speaker 4: It is a very young cast, Yes, it is.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Yeah, what about their player base. We've got to like
- 18:03Speaker 5: change the diapers and stuff.
- 18:05Speaker 3: I mean, Marcial break, they're gonna they're gonna go ahead
- 18:11Speaker 3: next episode and talk to us about our geriatrix and
- 18:14Speaker 3: what we all have going.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I probably should, but I.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Mean, if we're looking time is extremely important, and at
- 18:22Speaker 3: a certain point, I can't do more to go ahead
- 18:26Speaker 3: and make the game appealing. Like we've had learned to play.
- 18:29Speaker 3: I've had people playing board games that we've they we've
- 18:32Speaker 3: brought in. They frankly opened up some key for starters
- 18:35Speaker 3: next to us that were separate while they were playing
- 18:38Speaker 3: poor games. I went over like taught them and booking
- 18:41Speaker 3: others like why why did you leave our tournament? Like
- 18:43Speaker 3: we have another out, like what are you doing? But
- 18:47Speaker 3: trying to reach out to people. We have individuals who
- 18:49Speaker 3: are just playing Commander because on the same day that
- 18:52Speaker 3: we go ahead and have our locals, it is the
- 18:55Speaker 3: consistent uh sealed from MTG. So imagine the gathering. Yeah,
- 19:01Speaker 3: I can't do more than putting up flyers, then going
- 19:04Speaker 3: ahead and basically trying to show the game to the
- 19:09Speaker 3: staff who are potentially able to go ahead and show
- 19:13Speaker 3: it to others. We can offer our own prize support,
- 19:17Speaker 3: but at a certain point there has to be.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Some discovery kid right, So I so I have not
- 19:24Speaker 5: given the discovery kid of fair shakes. I have tried. Again,
- 19:27Speaker 5: i'n't housedon right like I do, like when get back
- 19:31Speaker 5: from Rochester. Maybe at some point I will how's that.
- 19:36Speaker 5: I will talk with store owner back ordering it, and
- 19:39Speaker 5: then I will set up event and then I'll go
- 19:41Speaker 5: there's a few folks who have like come to one
- 19:44Speaker 5: or two events. I'll try to get back. I'll go
- 19:47Speaker 5: to my board game club. So I've run monthly board
- 19:51Speaker 5: game club and I've never like hard sold anybody on
- 19:55Speaker 5: keyboard stuff, but like I'll be like, hey, Discovery said
- 20:00Speaker 5: it's easier way right, fun hopeful prizes, come check it out. Hopefully,
- 20:07Speaker 5: hopefully I'll get a few people to come, and then
- 20:10Speaker 5: hopefully from that one or two will actually become right,
- 20:14Speaker 5: Like that would be cool, Like if if I could
- 20:16Speaker 5: get if for that whole kit, I could get two
- 20:20Speaker 5: people to come semi regularly, like I would be happy
- 20:24Speaker 5: with that, Like that'd.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Be a pretty good big I'm gonna say, if you
- 20:27Speaker 3: can get one new person to come regularly, that's a
- 20:30Speaker 3: big success right now, Like, yeah, if we have someone
- 20:34Speaker 3: who's gonna come back more than once, that's that's what
- 20:38Speaker 3: we're looking for right now. And I'm not even seeing that.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Like time is very like there's so much that's happening
- 20:43Speaker 3: for people in their lives that to expect them to
- 20:46Speaker 3: come out, Like I know other other people have talked about, Hey,
- 20:50Speaker 3: I'm running now events because table space is limited at
- 20:53Speaker 3: some stores. I'm running an event twice a month instead
- 20:56Speaker 3: of weekly. The best thing that we can do is
- 20:58Speaker 3: actually be there consistently, because if you're going every other week,
- 21:03Speaker 3: well then something else creeps in and I can't.
- 21:08Speaker 5: Speaking of consistent, I did feel a little bad because
- 21:11Speaker 5: there's a guy who has come a little bit off
- 21:15Speaker 5: and on, like he he plays magic and uh so
- 21:19Speaker 5: like h but he also like has keyboard stuff from
- 21:25Speaker 5: Days of York and so like sometimes when we're there,
- 21:28Speaker 5: there's magic players there, and like sometimes they'll come over
- 21:31Speaker 5: and play like a couple of games with us or
- 21:33Speaker 5: show up to play games with us, but like sometimes
- 21:35Speaker 5: they'll go play magic because he also has friends there.
- 21:37Speaker 5: Like that's pretty cool. So he actually messaged. He was like, hey,
- 21:41Speaker 5: I didn't see any message about key Ford tonight we
- 21:43Speaker 5: play it. And I was like, oh, we're we did
- 21:46Speaker 5: a message because we're all up to Rochester's Like oh yeah, yeah,
- 21:49Speaker 5: you guys did mention that I forgot about that, but
- 21:50Speaker 5: like he actually reached out. It was like really cool.
- 21:52Speaker 5: I was like happy, but also sad that we weren't
- 21:55Speaker 5: going to be there to be like yeah, hell yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 5: we'll playing with fortunate dude.
- 21:58Speaker 1: So uh.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah. I think it is tough, right, It's tough
- 22:05Speaker 5: to get new players. I I don't know. I think
- 22:09Speaker 5: the Discovery Set is an interesting attempt. I think I
- 22:12Speaker 5: think I'm gonna try it. I think, yeah, the timing
- 22:16Speaker 5: was a little weird, but it's supposed to be in theory,
- 22:18Speaker 5: it's supposed to be an evergreen thing, so like they're
- 22:21Speaker 5: supposed to keep them around, maybe so using any time
- 22:27Speaker 5: in theory in the future. So I think, I think
- 22:29Speaker 5: that's the right move. So the fact that it became available,
- 22:34Speaker 5: uh during this time, I think is but maybe slightly odd,
- 22:39Speaker 5: but not problem.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Really I feel needy when I keep going to the
- 22:45Speaker 3: local players who are there and I don't know how
- 22:50Speaker 3: to go ahead and venture. So you know, no, but
- 22:54Speaker 3: like you feel like, please come play my game. Here's
- 22:57Speaker 3: all the trinkets, here's dax, here's tokens, here's everything. And
- 23:00Speaker 3: then they take it and they go, lookie. I still
- 23:02Speaker 3: remember the event that you put at our previous store,
- 23:05Speaker 3: and this was two back, but you had a really
- 23:10Speaker 3: great idea of, hey, here's going to be these different decks.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Was it six or eight decks that you gave to everyone,
- 23:17Speaker 3: and then each week we are going to just play
- 23:19Speaker 3: one of those basically bring a Mars deck and so
- 23:23Speaker 3: from that stack you have to bring one bars deck
- 23:25Speaker 3: from that pool. And so it was relatively fair and
- 23:30Speaker 3: you had we had we had a car load of
- 23:33Speaker 3: people who came in I think there were six players.
- 23:35Speaker 3: They were younger. We all came in go ahead, tell
- 23:39Speaker 3: us because it was a really great idea and it
- 23:43Speaker 3: absolutely failed in our faces.
- 23:45Speaker 4: No, it was just I mean basically I had a
- 23:48Speaker 4: we all had a lot of decks, right, So I'd
- 23:51Speaker 4: bring in my box of decks and I'd say pick
- 23:53Speaker 4: one right, right, you know, and it was different themes,
- 23:57Speaker 4: and I was like, oh, well this week we're going
- 23:59Speaker 4: to try Mars or whatever. So you'd get x amount
- 24:02Speaker 4: of time thumb through the decks, pick one you know
- 24:05Speaker 4: that had Mars in it, and we just play, right,
- 24:08Speaker 4: and then it was well, whatever you grabbed, just take
- 24:10Speaker 4: it home with you, right, Yeah.
- 24:14Speaker 3: But the event that you actually had for here was
- 24:17Speaker 3: supposed to be a six week process. You had pulled
- 24:19Speaker 3: six to eight decks. They showed up once and then
- 24:22Speaker 3: we played again, and they never showed up again. And
- 24:25Speaker 3: if you look at that, like even six decks is
- 24:28Speaker 3: half a box, like that's that's a significant And yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 3: we were to do with extra decks. Well that's one
- 24:35Speaker 3: of those things. But it's sad when someone shows up
- 24:38Speaker 3: takes your decks and you feel really like, I don't know,
- 24:43Speaker 3: I feel off when it's just like, hey, here you go,
- 24:47Speaker 3: here's decks. But you feel it's an odd feeling when
- 24:51Speaker 3: people are just I'm taking the decks and I'm leaving
- 24:54Speaker 3: and I could care less about these decks. We have
- 24:55Speaker 3: more than enough. But it's just it's an odd set
- 24:59Speaker 3: of like, hey, please come hang out with me, please
- 25:01Speaker 3: play these decks. Wow, there is something wrong with the game. No,
- 25:06Speaker 3: it's a great game.
- 25:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know, like I think. I mean, half
- 25:14Speaker 5: of it has to be selling the community, right, like
- 25:16Speaker 5: selling Hey, we get together and have a together joke you. Hey, so,
- 25:25Speaker 5: so you gotta lean into the cool people you have, right,
- 25:27Speaker 5: So you can't sell the Wookie. You gotta sell Sydney,
- 25:30Speaker 5: right like Sydney is the cool person there.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Right, don't laugh Whenever that was in the background, which
- 25:35Speaker 4: which one do you do that? You don't get my
- 25:37Speaker 4: iron for next week's episode?
- 25:41Speaker 3: Why wait until next week?
- 25:46Speaker 1: Don't you?
- 25:47Speaker 3: Don't you throw him under the bus. We know there's
- 25:49Speaker 3: only one other person in your car.
- 25:50Speaker 6: We went through this, Yeah, that was only one other
- 25:53Speaker 6: person in your car. Struggle rookie like memory and remembering things?
- 26:01Speaker 3: Pete, did we sell you as one of our newer
- 26:04Speaker 3: players within the last. Are we already on our year?
- 26:08Speaker 3: Has it been a year that we've been together? Probably
- 26:12Speaker 3: you came you came out with the Mars, so it
- 26:15Speaker 3: has a year.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Wasn't that right before? Or was that during.
- 26:21Speaker 5: During?
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 26:22Speaker 3: It was we're not there yet. Okay, we're coming up
- 26:25Speaker 3: on our one year anniversary?
- 26:26Speaker 4: But do you have to buy a cake?
- 26:28Speaker 1: It was? It was definitely August. Because I reviewed my
- 26:31Speaker 1: monthly expenses going back for the last no talk about it,
- 26:39Speaker 1: I noticed a significant anyways, different subject for a different times.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I don't that's true. That is my fault. I could
- 26:50Speaker 1: harvest my own local community, but I choose to stick
- 26:53Speaker 1: with you all because you sold the community.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Okay, so you are saying that our community is worthwhile?
- 27:00Speaker 1: Yes, And I'm not a person who sought that out.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I don't. Maybe you guys have noticed I'm not terribly
- 27:08Speaker 1: you know, social or outgoing.
- 27:09Speaker 5: Uh.
- 27:09Speaker 1: It takes me a while to warm up. But I
- 27:12Speaker 1: really liked the game, and I liked having the consistency
- 27:14Speaker 1: of people who also enjoyed the game that I always
- 27:17Speaker 1: count on to show up to play the game. So
- 27:21Speaker 1: I don't know that that if that's you know what
- 27:23Speaker 1: percentage of players is like, please don't try to sell
- 27:25Speaker 1: me in the community. There's other things I might enjoy
- 27:27Speaker 1: about this game. I have no idea, but that's my
- 27:30Speaker 1: experience anyways. Yet.
- 27:34Speaker 5: Yeah, so the first so the first time he came,
- 27:39Speaker 5: were you like, how did you first year about the event?
- 27:41Speaker 5: Because that's that's the.
- 27:42Speaker 1: First question, right. So I I had meddled with KeyForge
- 27:50Speaker 1: around the time it came out, and then just I
- 27:52Speaker 1: don't remember what sparked my interest to go look look
- 27:54Speaker 1: for it again, but I couldn't find anything any information online,
- 27:58Speaker 1: like just doing Google searches or looking on Reddit, the
- 28:00Speaker 1: Reddit community and there is like kind of active, but
- 28:04Speaker 1: not a whole lot. I almost made a road trip
- 28:06Speaker 1: to Michigan just because they advertised an event and it
- 28:08Speaker 1: was the only one I knew of looked on Facebook
- 28:11Speaker 1: all those were dead. Then I found Discord through my
- 28:15Speaker 1: local game store and found found Sheep, and then Sheep
- 28:19Speaker 1: directed me towards this crew, and I I bit the
- 28:23Speaker 1: bull to show up because I wanted free cards. And
- 28:26Speaker 1: that's what the Martian Civil War event promised was fifteen
- 28:30Speaker 1: free cards and.
- 28:32Speaker 5: The Martian Civil War.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that was my motivation to That's what pushed me
- 28:37Speaker 1: over the edge because again I at that time, I
- 28:39Speaker 1: wasn't necessarily looking to play with people in real life.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I just wanted the free cards.
- 28:46Speaker 4: See, guys, free ship does win?
- 28:49Speaker 1: It does?
- 28:50Speaker 3: I know she's not here to counter this, but I
- 28:52Speaker 3: am with you, guys, one thousand percent.
- 28:54Speaker 4: I think what is free shit? We can't solve this
- 28:59Speaker 4: game with free shitt. I wasn't doing anything it does.
- 29:04Speaker 4: I don't play this game because of anything for you.
- 29:07Speaker 4: I play this game because.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I like it. I like about it, and I'm sorry.
- 29:14Speaker 1: So back to the question though. Once I did get there,
- 29:17Speaker 1: everybody was super patient and eager to teach. Uh. Everyone
- 29:23Speaker 1: was playing with Grim Reminders, which I still hate to
- 29:25Speaker 1: this day, but they did their best to try to
- 29:27Speaker 1: explain what each card did, and so that helped too.
- 29:31Speaker 3: You know, did you feel that Grim Reminders was a
- 29:34Speaker 3: really big jump from where you had?
- 29:37Speaker 1: Like Ben, Yes, and I heard about Woe and the
- 29:42Speaker 1: token mechanic. I really liked that. I couldn't tell you why,
- 29:45Speaker 1: but I thought that was so neat and so getting
- 29:48Speaker 1: a display of that, playing with it by myself at
- 29:51Speaker 1: home and going wow, this game is still awesome. They're
- 29:54Speaker 1: still innovating and doing fun things with it and then
- 29:57Speaker 1: going to Grim Reminders, where it's just I don't know
- 30:00Speaker 1: that's a personal preference. I know I know of new
- 30:02Speaker 1: players who enjoy grimm Winders a lot, so it's that's
- 30:05Speaker 1: not a probably.
- 30:06Speaker 4: So here's my argument, right, and we're we're gonna kind
- 30:09Speaker 4: of jump around a little bit here. And I know
- 30:11Speaker 4: you don't like Grim Reminders, and that's fine, right, everybody.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Everybody's allowed to have their own yum, right. But one
- 30:18Speaker 4: of the fails that we had kind of and you
- 30:22Speaker 4: can tell us what we're wrong, but we identified is
- 30:25Speaker 4: just the lack of power or any sort of pizzaz sizzle.
- 30:32Speaker 4: Like there's no real spice in discovery, right, Like you're
- 30:37Speaker 4: discovering mediocrity and it's a real like there is nothing,
- 30:43Speaker 4: there is nothing to look for, there's nothing exciting about it,
- 30:48Speaker 4: like as as a player who's been around for a
- 30:51Speaker 4: long time, like it's it's kind of a paint like
- 30:56Speaker 4: it reminds me of AOA Sealed Days, right, like where
- 31:00Speaker 4: it's just kind of like, oh yeah, so whoever gets
- 31:03Speaker 4: some form of ember control will win.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Well, I don't know if I would go that far.
- 31:09Speaker 3: I mean, even looking at d Okay you do have
- 31:11Speaker 3: some ninety SaaS decks that show up there, and again,
- 31:14Speaker 3: SAS is not everything, but I think overall you're just
- 31:21Speaker 3: I wanted to see that all of the decks frankly
- 31:25Speaker 3: just needed to have more amber on it. I don't
- 31:27Speaker 3: know how else to state it, like, I want to
- 31:29Speaker 3: see more interaction, but if we simplify the interaction, then
- 31:31Speaker 3: increase the amber so that one the games can go quicker.
- 31:34Speaker 3: So all of our players who are here, they feel
- 31:37Speaker 3: that tension of oh, we're right on check, we're almost
- 31:39Speaker 3: going to forge key. Will we let them? Will we not?
- 31:41Speaker 3: I want to see that number two. If we really
- 31:43Speaker 3: are pushing amber, then that deck And I know she
- 31:47Speaker 3: argued in our in our actual chat before this, I
- 31:51Speaker 3: think that those decks should be able to leave a
- 31:54Speaker 3: discovery event and frankly still have a half chance at
- 31:59Speaker 3: being able to be played. I think that there's some
- 32:01Speaker 3: real skill knowledge that's gained from playing on a weekly
- 32:05Speaker 3: basis and playing consistently. I mean, Pete, I've seen the
- 32:08Speaker 3: improvement from you as you've gone ahead and joined us
- 32:11Speaker 3: since August. So going ahead and looking at that you
- 32:14Speaker 3: become better by going ahead and investing in the game
- 32:17Speaker 3: and that's just time. It takes time to be able
- 32:20Speaker 3: to get better. But if you come in and you
- 32:23Speaker 3: have this discovery deck and you're like, hey, it was
- 32:25Speaker 3: a lot of fun. I enjoyed this, and then you
- 32:27Speaker 3: bring it back to local and then next week or
- 32:29Speaker 3: a couple weeks later and you get absolutely smashed. That's
- 32:34Speaker 3: a really bad feel bads moment. And I think that Discovery,
- 32:39Speaker 3: like the kit, needed to be attached to this. But
- 32:44Speaker 3: I think the set Discovery as a whole then has
- 32:46Speaker 3: an impact and it needed to be elevated. And I'm
- 32:49Speaker 3: not joking. I think the card type in the interaction
- 32:52Speaker 3: can be more simplified. But I think you just needed
- 32:55Speaker 3: to push the amber, get to your keys faster, go
- 32:59Speaker 3: ahead and push inside of scaling amber control. It should
- 33:02Speaker 3: cause some problems for a number of sets.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Right now, it's all good.
- 33:09Speaker 5: I was gonna say, do you remember that, so the
- 33:12Speaker 5: simplest set is coding right just from a rules perspective, right, yeah?
- 33:21Speaker 5: What was the one of the clients from some folks
- 33:25Speaker 5: about CODA after a while, right, Like I remember the
- 33:29Speaker 5: BBQ guys saying that they just printed CODA with too
- 33:34Speaker 5: much amber and there was a bit of an opinion
- 33:39Speaker 5: that just having pips or steal was really what you needed.
- 33:45Speaker 5: Like doing other things didn't matter early as much, and
- 33:51Speaker 5: so like that was feedback. I don't know that Gig
- 33:55Speaker 5: was deeply thinking about that, but maybe I'll give them
- 33:57Speaker 5: a benefit of that for a second, even though I
- 33:58Speaker 5: probably shouldn't that maybe they said, hey, yeah, we're gonna
- 34:01Speaker 5: make a similar set, but we shouldn't just uh amber pips.
- 34:08Speaker 5: Pick you know, dust pixies all over the place, but
- 34:12Speaker 5: pick cards that are interesting but can't be too complicated, right,
- 34:17Speaker 5: you don't want a whole bunch of like curious sources
- 34:19Speaker 5: that right, Like that's not very player friendly. It's a
- 34:23Speaker 5: strong card, so you gotta you know, it's got Kirby's right,
- 34:29Speaker 5: it's got.
- 34:30Speaker 4: I mean, it's got some things. Yeah, it's got TMTP,
- 34:33Speaker 4: it's got routine jobs.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:35Speaker 4: So I'm looking at I'm looking at these ninety SaaS decks,
- 34:40Speaker 4: and to be honest with you, none of them are like,
- 34:43Speaker 4: oh this is a this is like these are just
- 34:45Speaker 4: I mean, yeah they were, And I don't know, maybe
- 34:48Speaker 4: maybe SASS needs to go back and look at some
- 34:50Speaker 4: of these older sets. I'm not sure, because it's logos
- 34:55Speaker 4: I'm looking at from a bookie like it's okay, it's
- 35:01Speaker 4: not the greatest thing I've ever seen, right, Like it's
- 35:04Speaker 4: got some good stuff, help from Future Self, minover Matter, Neurosciphon, Totel, Vapors,
- 35:09Speaker 4: Igor Daughter, Right, but like there's nothing in there that's
- 35:13Speaker 4: going to win you the game.
- 35:15Speaker 3: I don't know that that logo set really looks nice.
- 35:18Speaker 3: That is a very very.
- 35:19Speaker 4: It is a very good looking set, and even the
- 35:22Speaker 4: shadows looks good, right, double tm Yasma bomb.
- 35:26Speaker 3: But there's let's finish there, Zenzisenzig, Time Traveler, q Mex
- 35:31Speaker 3: Helper Bot, Igor, Daughter, Totel, Vapors, Positron, Bolts, Neurosciphon, Neurosiphon,
- 35:37Speaker 3: minover matter, and help from Future Self. Like I'm telling you,
- 35:41Speaker 3: if you want that, that is a that is a
- 35:44Speaker 3: set of twelve cards that I would be extremely happy
- 35:48Speaker 3: happy to see you hold on. You have control, you have.
- 35:53Speaker 4: On twelve cards, but you need thirty six to play
- 35:56Speaker 4: the game correct And even isn't isn't it's not horrible.
- 36:01Speaker 4: It's not the greatest, right, you know, Nexus double Opportunists
- 36:06Speaker 4: maybe you know like uh, you know, like okay, subtle
- 36:12Speaker 4: change in their Chain Gang brand. There's some good stuff
- 36:16Speaker 4: in there, but there's not a lot. And then you
- 36:18Speaker 4: go into the Star Alliance. I mean you what you
- 36:21Speaker 4: have a role operations survey is not bad, but again,
- 36:25Speaker 4: none of these win games. If these go up against
- 36:28Speaker 4: decks outside of Discovery, I feel like they're just it's
- 36:33Speaker 4: gonna get thrashed. I don't feel like this deck would
- 36:36Speaker 4: be able to keep up with an Aria. I don't
- 36:40Speaker 4: feel like it definitely wouldn't. I mean definitely wouldn't keep
- 36:42Speaker 4: up with a pastor.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Well, because you're looking at the recursion that exists in
- 36:49Speaker 3: both of those decks.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Okay, right now, Yeah, you're talking about some of the
- 36:55Speaker 4: best decks, but this is the best deck that I
- 36:58Speaker 4: have right now. To compare it.
- 37:00Speaker 5: To there's only sure, but there's only a thousands.
- 37:06Speaker 4: But I don't think opening more decks is always That's
- 37:09Speaker 4: never no, I've never agreed with that statement that like
- 37:12Speaker 4: you got to open more decks to see what it
- 37:14Speaker 4: really can do. You if in a manner of a handsot.
- 37:17Speaker 5: True for Coda, what there's billions, there's billions.
- 37:22Speaker 3: So there's more decks atter Coda than there are.
- 37:25Speaker 4: To be sure, like Coda is even like even codas
- 37:28Speaker 4: by the wayside. Now what coda I mean besides fraud,
- 37:31Speaker 4: what coda decks are doing anything at the current time.
- 37:35Speaker 5: There's only a couple, right, so so now now, yes,
- 37:41Speaker 5: that still says that the pool, right, but I don't know,
- 37:44Speaker 5: like I think there's just too few decks right to say,
- 37:46Speaker 5: like it will never produce something. So which you have
- 37:47Speaker 5: to do? And I'm just doing this all my phone
- 37:49Speaker 5: real fast, right, I just so, I just went to
- 37:51Speaker 5: cards do, okay, and I just that I put discovery,
- 37:56Speaker 5: then I filter uncommon. Now I'm sorting by total so
- 38:00Speaker 5: whatever the mark stories of the comments, right, so so
- 38:04Speaker 5: let's just read down the list. This is where it
- 38:06Speaker 5: gets bad. Yeah, so let me go top ten here
- 38:10Speaker 5: com Officer Kirby. That's pretty good. Yeah, number two, oh
- 38:13Speaker 5: n I think yeah, sure, Number three Helper Bot Street,
- 38:17Speaker 5: number four, Savage Clash, that's a good. Card number five,
- 38:21Speaker 5: Realgue Operation, Yeah, number six, Taltow Vapors excellent. Card number seven,
- 38:27Speaker 5: Rad Penny, Yeah, I like her. Number eight, Hey Gore,
- 38:32Speaker 5: I goes very strong. Number nine the Zirker Slam that's problem.
- 38:37Speaker 5: Car number ten Rant Drive also very good. Okay, So
- 38:42Speaker 5: that's that's the top ten. That's that's bad. That's not bad.
- 38:51Speaker 5: Now now you probably really need to go by house
- 38:54Speaker 5: to figure out because that's it was kind of spread
- 38:56Speaker 5: around there, so you probably need to go to my house.
- 39:00Speaker 5: Look at the commons.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Really, so while you're looking at that dres, realize that
- 39:04Speaker 3: even the gr like artifacts recursion, looking at the common
- 39:09Speaker 3: cards there in here somewhere, the momets going ahead and
- 39:13Speaker 3: looking and that's just geistoid for gr going ahead and
- 39:17Speaker 3: looking at beanstock in the amount of giants that are
- 39:20Speaker 3: coming in, looking at well of memory island to misfit
- 39:25Speaker 3: toys like those just in Geistoid alone. Sure already top
- 39:32Speaker 3: kind of what you are talking about.
- 39:34Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, well let's look all right, so we
- 39:36Speaker 5: need efficiency or recursion or something. So let's look at logos.
- 39:40Speaker 5: There are how many comments? There are sixteen logos commons, Yeah,
- 39:45Speaker 5: in set, so let's just do the top eight. Let's
- 39:49Speaker 5: do the top half. Okay, and see where this takes us, right,
- 39:53Speaker 5: because this is this is what's going to power your decks.
- 39:55Speaker 5: So help er bot, sweet totel vapors, sweet igor sweet yep,
- 40:01Speaker 5: daughter yep, cut the research eh wild wormhole and armor
- 40:10Speaker 5: drone all right, so we started. We sort of ran
- 40:14Speaker 5: a scheme a little bit there, but those first five
- 40:20Speaker 5: quite good. All right, let's go. Starlights is your other
- 40:24Speaker 5: option for efficiency, So we know we're gonna get Kirby.
- 40:28Speaker 5: Let's see pop it open, all right, So first one Kirby,
- 40:32Speaker 5: second one Rogue OPERATIONE third one cpo's eye tar. Yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 5: it's got drop pips. Yeah, all right. Then comes Emo alien.
- 40:42Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Uh.
- 40:44Speaker 5: Then daph survey you in into your discord. This is
- 40:51Speaker 5: a DT card. I remember what the hell this does?
- 40:54Speaker 5: Play choose one use a friendly non star alights creature,
- 40:58Speaker 5: two friendly creatures. He eats each Upbrade Okay, this is
- 41:03Speaker 5: like a transporter platform on a match. Okay, all right,
- 41:06Speaker 5: it's yeah, first Officer fra Yeah so we lost them
- 41:10Speaker 5: a little bit there too. All right. Well so so yeah,
- 41:16Speaker 5: yeah it's looking a little tricky. Maybe disc could save us.
- 41:18Speaker 5: What's the chances?
- 41:21Speaker 1: Not bad?
- 41:22Speaker 5: Just him? Okay, implosion like that grabble all the week, Slasher,
- 41:32Speaker 5: broken dreams okay, rod grub stirring Grave Okay, the's a
- 41:38Speaker 5: re exploit. Okay, yeah, you know those.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Not so great.
- 41:45Speaker 5: So that is a little worrying, a little worrying. What
- 41:50Speaker 5: else we have? Cauld untame save us. That's number versus
- 41:53Speaker 5: Savage Clash. Let's see Savage clash. Okay, lost the woods,
- 41:58Speaker 5: very good, Let's stickbor Brooke. Okay, I suppose.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Four damage on play and increases key costs.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:10Speaker 3: The thing about Mustic because the deck that I opened
- 42:14Speaker 3: for this week had three of them, So we're seeing
- 42:17Speaker 3: because of the smaller card pool that you have a
- 42:19Speaker 3: lot more repeats. But Mustic is dual sided, and so
- 42:25Speaker 3: you're actually increasing your key costs to seven or eight
- 42:28Speaker 3: or nine if you have all three of them out
- 42:31Speaker 3: and if there are no creatures on the other side.
- 42:34Speaker 3: To start, Mustik actually has to do it to itself.
- 42:37Speaker 3: I still think it's a good card, but it's not great.
- 42:41Speaker 5: It's not amazing. Got molly Mock, which I guess sort
- 42:44Speaker 5: off I control. We've got Gloriana's attendant, which is okay U,
- 42:50Speaker 5: which is the eye? Okay, rapid evolution really I think
- 42:57Speaker 5: key frog? So oh yeah, yeah, I don't know, but
- 43:06Speaker 5: that seems so hot.
- 43:08Speaker 3: What about shadows?
- 43:12Speaker 7: Sure well, wall Dress, Yeah, wall Dress is looking at
- 43:18Speaker 7: your shadows because when I'm looking here for discovery.
- 43:23Speaker 3: What was interesting was consistently shadows is showing up in
- 43:26Speaker 3: these top decks. We have double TMTP with me as
- 43:29Speaker 3: a bomb like some a large steal. But outside of
- 43:33Speaker 3: that you have quad routine job, quad routine job. So
- 43:37Speaker 3: seeing multiple ways to be able to steal is really
- 43:41Speaker 3: really important and something that actually brings a lot of
- 43:45Speaker 3: power to the game. Now, while Dress is looking that up,
- 43:49Speaker 3: I'm going to say, part of this experience is really
- 43:53Speaker 3: saddened by me. My my first deck that I opened,
- 43:59Speaker 3: Solid seven anyone sas very seeing the field marshal of Skulls,
- 44:03Speaker 3: brobnar dis and on Tames. But I had six amber
- 44:08Speaker 3: pips and out of those six amber pips, four of
- 44:11Speaker 3: them came on Anger. And this deck, I mean this deck,
- 44:18Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that Pete people had in Yes, yeah,
- 44:24Speaker 3: four of them are coming on Anger. And then I
- 44:26Speaker 3: had and I had Memorialized to fall in and guess
- 44:29Speaker 3: what this This set is heavy on creatures. My deck
- 44:33Speaker 3: alone has twenty three. So when I finally could build
- 44:36Speaker 3: a board and then generate because there's no board wipe,
- 44:41Speaker 3: then Memorialized goes ahead and just extended the game. So again,
- 44:44Speaker 3: this is where I'm really going and talking about add
- 44:47Speaker 3: extra hamber on here, make the games go faster, do
- 44:51Speaker 3: not drag it out, have some tools, show some people
- 44:55Speaker 3: some fun. This this deck had I think it was
- 44:59Speaker 3: six different doubles or triples, so quad Anger, triple Toxin,
- 45:04Speaker 3: triple dust amp uh double, Ritual of Balance, double mustic
- 45:11Speaker 3: mermukee double which of the eye. You're just looking at
- 45:15Speaker 3: a lot of repetition, which brings consistency. But when you
- 45:19Speaker 3: have a smaller like card Pool, I don't know if
- 45:22Speaker 3: that's helpful for new players, Okay, I can see it,
- 45:26Speaker 3: or if it kind of makes it a little bit
- 45:28Speaker 3: more boring. So I just I really stress, don't put
- 45:32Speaker 3: these large. Put a higher amber counts, minimize what the
- 45:39Speaker 3: amber losses. If you're gonna go ahead and steal it,
- 45:41Speaker 3: I'm fine with it. But like more or less, the
- 45:44Speaker 3: Fallen when that's a very heavy creature set, just made
- 45:47Speaker 3: the games go so so slow.
- 45:51Speaker 5: Are there more creatures?
- 45:52Speaker 1: I mean I only have.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Yes, at least it feels that way. It feels like
- 45:58Speaker 4: again a very heavy like everything else has done since,
- 46:03Speaker 4: a very heavy focus on creatures.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean missing quite a bit of straight
- 46:12Speaker 3: board wipe. We talked about what was there for untamed.
- 46:17Speaker 3: But if you're if you don't have untamed, it feels
- 46:19Speaker 3: like all right, yeah, outside of Savage Clash, it was
- 46:23Speaker 3: just like it's slow, it's a little redundant. That's that's
- 46:29Speaker 3: just the experience that I've had. But we want to
- 46:33Speaker 3: we want to have I want to have sets that
- 46:37Speaker 3: a player can come in, they can have fun with,
- 46:39Speaker 3: they play quick. Oh yeah, this was a lot of fun.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Let's come back and try it again, and that they
- 46:43Speaker 3: can stand. I'm not saying they're going to win, but
- 46:47Speaker 3: I want them relatively close. And with the recursion that's
- 46:50Speaker 3: there from g R with the board spam that exists
- 46:56Speaker 3: from tokens of Change, with amber skies and all that
- 46:58Speaker 3: it can do, with the disc option and kind of
- 47:01Speaker 3: spamming the board consistently with out of house pips. I
- 47:06Speaker 3: just feel that there is such a discrepancy between even
- 47:10Speaker 3: the best decks in this sets that it's a great introductory,
- 47:14Speaker 3: but it's like it essentially is a standalone set, like
- 47:17Speaker 3: here you go, you bought it, and that's it. Now
- 47:21Speaker 3: jump now, jump in and gap.
- 47:25Speaker 5: I mean, and maybe that's okay because of Discovery right
- 47:29Speaker 5: like they did Portal back in Magic right, I don't think.
- 47:34Speaker 5: I mean, I don't remember them being good. I don't know.
- 47:37Speaker 5: I don't like that magic though. So but it was
- 47:41Speaker 5: about introduction.
- 47:42Speaker 4: Well, let me tell you about Portal, because that's wer
- 47:47Speaker 4: I jumped in into magic and when I was younger,
- 47:50Speaker 4: Portal was an introductory set, right, it was not just
- 47:54Speaker 4: also was not designed. Portal cards were not legal. You
- 48:00Speaker 4: cannot play them, like if you went to a tournament,
- 48:02Speaker 4: you couldn't bring your Portal cards now, depending on who
- 48:07Speaker 4: you ask, much like any I'm gonna coffee now because
- 48:11Speaker 4: I'm talking. There are a lot of Portal cards now
- 48:16Speaker 4: that are worth a lot of money. Really, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 48:21Speaker 4: they're just there. There was some tutors that were done
- 48:25Speaker 4: so like Portal was designed as a set to be
- 48:27Speaker 4: very basic, right, so they took out it was creatures,
- 48:32Speaker 4: and then they took out they took out like instants
- 48:34Speaker 4: and interrupts, so it was all sorcery driven. But I
- 48:41Speaker 4: can't remember. One of the tutors came from Portal, which
- 48:48Speaker 4: is now a well sought after card. And then there's
- 48:51Speaker 4: a few other Portal cards like Portal three Kingdoms. There
- 48:53Speaker 4: was a guy who granted horsemanship to all your creatures.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Which horsemanship is a trait that unless somebody else has
- 48:59Speaker 4: horse spanship, they can't be blocked except for other creatures
- 49:03Speaker 4: with horsemanship. Well it was such a small thing, like
- 49:06Speaker 4: they never did horsemanship outside of that set ever again,
- 49:09Speaker 4: so nobody has horsemanship so for things. So the reason
- 49:15Speaker 4: portal and things became so popular was because of commander
- 49:19Speaker 4: when commanders like, yeah, whatever you got, come play it.
- 49:23Speaker 4: You know, it's it's a it's a more, it's a more,
- 49:27Speaker 4: I don't want to say, see commanders. It used to
- 49:29Speaker 4: be just more of a funsie whatever whatever whatever, you know,
- 49:33Speaker 4: thing to do. It's gotten so big now that I
- 49:38Speaker 4: don't know, I don't know if it's more popular competitively
- 49:41Speaker 4: or how it is. But it used to just be,
- 49:43Speaker 4: you know, very casual, and it was more about look
- 49:48Speaker 4: at this neat thing I'm going to try to do
- 49:50Speaker 4: in a hundred cards singleton format as opposed to like
- 49:56Speaker 4: winning the game.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I mean.
- 49:57Speaker 4: And the thing is not only that when you go
- 50:00Speaker 4: into anything, it's a multiplayer game, right, so when you're
- 50:04Speaker 4: going up against three other opponents, as soon as one
- 50:07Speaker 4: person starts pushing ahead, usually what happens what happens to one.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Player, everyone else turns on them, right, so it keeps
- 50:18Speaker 3: that level playing field where you don't have that in
- 50:21Speaker 3: Key Forage.
- 50:22Speaker 4: I mean the closest thing we have to multiplayer is
- 50:24Speaker 4: the Shitty Adventures, and they just don't seem.
- 50:29Speaker 5: No no, no, no no.
- 50:30Speaker 3: We have volts Assault.
- 50:31Speaker 4: Oh yeah, because that's a thing that everybody's playing right now.
- 50:37Speaker 1: I think that it.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Offers some options. I just think that again, like most sets,
- 50:42Speaker 3: it needed to be actually worked on and balanced. There
- 50:46Speaker 3: are individual cards in Voltassault that are much much much better,
- 50:51Speaker 3: and so you want to consistently take those cards, and
- 50:54Speaker 3: when there's a discrepancy in the power level, it's it's problematic.
- 51:00Speaker 3: I like the idea build it. Yeah, I mean, play
- 51:04Speaker 3: testing is a thing and it needs to happen with
- 51:06Speaker 3: both competitive and casual players and not just hey is
- 51:10Speaker 3: this fun? Because there are other aspects outside of is
- 51:14Speaker 3: this game fun? There is a competitive nature. That's why
- 51:17Speaker 3: you're heading to a vault right now.
- 51:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right, And I hate to tell you, like
- 51:23Speaker 4: for me, and I think for I mean, I don't
- 51:25Speaker 4: know anybody else that's not going to vault tours.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Pete.
- 51:28Speaker 4: Pete can maybe tell us because he didn't always go
- 51:30Speaker 4: to vault tours, like there ain't much outside of the
- 51:35Speaker 4: vault tours to do.
- 51:38Speaker 1: There's not much outside of the vault tours to do.
- 51:41Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I don't understand the premise.
- 51:44Speaker 4: What's the cat like you're not I mean, you're going
- 51:47Speaker 4: you have a local, right, and some people have a
- 51:49Speaker 4: local but like there's no like local thing that like
- 51:53Speaker 4: you can go to and you're gonna like have a nice,
- 51:57Speaker 4: nice big turnout, right, Like the te Mault Championships are
- 52:01Speaker 4: coming up for Altered and from what I understand, they
- 52:05Speaker 4: had a decent turn up. Gotcha, right, Yeah, so you
- 52:09Speaker 4: don't have to go to the big thing because you
- 52:12Speaker 4: have this other little thing that's still kind of a
- 52:13Speaker 4: big thing. So I guess maybe it quenches that thirst
- 52:17Speaker 4: a little bit.
- 52:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean in.
- 52:21Speaker 3: FFG days, we had a local scene that you could
- 52:24Speaker 3: show up and it was different from the people attending vaults.
- 52:27Speaker 3: And what has really turned now is people are attending
- 52:31Speaker 3: vaults or you might have a local scene, but it's
- 52:34Speaker 3: supplemented or taken care of by yourself. I think that
- 52:38Speaker 3: the Mars event was a lot of fun, but again
- 52:40Speaker 3: you're missing this idea of hey, I show up, I
- 52:44Speaker 3: do something weeklies, which is again, why the.
- 52:49Speaker 1: The new what is it?
- 52:51Speaker 3: Key discovery?
- 52:52Speaker 1: The key.
- 52:54Speaker 3: I'm totally blinking right now, and I'm failing.
- 52:56Speaker 4: I'm not sure what you're even looking for.
- 52:58Speaker 3: No, No, the key, keychains.
- 53:03Speaker 4: Oh the key chains yep, which I got done by ggs.
- 53:08Speaker 1: My gg.
- 53:09Speaker 3: But again this idea, there needs to be some trinket.
- 53:12Speaker 3: There needs to be some reason to show up weekly,
- 53:16Speaker 3: for people to for people to invest time and money.
- 53:20Speaker 3: It can't be hey, here's just a good group of people.
- 53:23Speaker 3: While that can carry you for a little bit. Finances
- 53:26Speaker 3: I mean you saw that finances across the year. It's
- 53:29Speaker 3: expensive on a weekly basis. It is at least fifteen
- 53:33Speaker 3: dollars for a deck, plus fifteen for food at the
- 53:37Speaker 3: very very very minimal just to be able to show
- 53:41Speaker 3: up for this event. That's a large cost across four weeks.
- 53:46Speaker 3: You're talking one hundred and twenty just to drop for that,
- 53:48Speaker 3: let alone the time commitment, which frankly is a lot
- 53:50Speaker 3: more for people. So you have monetary restriction at times,
- 53:53Speaker 3: you have a time constriction at times. So if it's
- 53:57Speaker 3: your local that's saying hey, I'll go ahead and throw
- 53:59Speaker 3: in some decks, that's great. Even this week we've seen Magic,
- 54:03Speaker 3: which is running consistent with us in the background. They
- 54:07Speaker 3: get three decks. I asked she, how much is the cost?
- 54:09Speaker 3: It's roughly about six dollars from what he had. Gone
- 54:12Speaker 3: ahead and said, I don't know Magic. I have been
- 54:15Speaker 3: out of the Magic scene in a very very very
- 54:17Speaker 3: long time, and I was extremely casual. When you're talking Portal.
- 54:21Speaker 3: I had gotten out basically. Portal was just coming in
- 54:25Speaker 3: when I was leavings. I'm feeling very old right now,
- 54:30Speaker 3: but I'm going to say that what's nice about Magic
- 54:32Speaker 3: is the guys show up. It's roughly the same cost. Okay,
- 54:35Speaker 3: six dollars times three packs. Okay, we got eighteen dollars here.
- 54:40Speaker 4: I think they do. I want to do a flat
- 54:42Speaker 4: twenty bucks because then they do prize us too.
- 54:45Speaker 3: But that idea of okay, I have prizes. There's nothing
- 54:49Speaker 3: for key Forge unless we're putting in extra for it.
- 54:53Speaker 3: And I don't know.
- 54:56Speaker 5: I just Discovery is prices, right, So that's I mean.
- 55:01Speaker 3: Well that that was there. But let's be honest, outside
- 55:04Speaker 3: of outside of the store champs, outside of the Discovery kit,
- 55:08Speaker 3: outside of mars.
- 55:09Speaker 5: On cards, Yeah, the Archive card was the.
- 55:13Speaker 4: No think I think.
- 55:15Speaker 3: I think when they're doing something, it has been actually
- 55:19Speaker 3: an advantage to the community. My problem is is that
- 55:22Speaker 3: it's so sporadic and if we are not consistently bringing
- 55:26Speaker 3: people in and there's something that is going to them
- 55:29Speaker 3: on a monthly basis or on a weekly basis, we're
- 55:32Speaker 3: losing people. And we see that people who have even
- 55:36Speaker 3: made the trip for volts. There will be some of
- 55:39Speaker 3: those individuals who showed up last year at Rochester will
- 55:42Speaker 3: not be there.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Now.
- 55:44Speaker 3: The question is will there be enough gain versus how
- 55:47Speaker 3: many people have lost because there's other games, it's always
- 55:49Speaker 3: in competition.
- 55:51Speaker 5: We don't have a prediction this time, right because last
- 55:55Speaker 5: time around they just told you what you were getting, right,
- 55:59Speaker 5: it told you you were number two.
- 56:00Speaker 1: What you like, Yeah, we don't know.
- 56:04Speaker 3: Now they took it away because of us. You're welcome.
- 56:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it's pretty easy. Like it wasn't even
- 56:11Speaker 5: it was right there on the page. It was like, uh,
- 56:16Speaker 5: you know there was any sort of problem.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Well, the short answer is what has been disseminated so
- 56:21Speaker 3: far as our numbers are. Unfortunately, well, we'll get to
- 56:25Speaker 3: predictions later. I am, I am, I'm hopeful, but I
- 56:30Speaker 3: know I've been talking a lot, Pete, What do you
- 56:32Speaker 3: think about the kid Did it attract you? Is it
- 56:35Speaker 3: something that it was a good idea but just didn't
- 56:40Speaker 3: have implementation because we have some really experienced players. What
- 56:43Speaker 3: are your thoughts on this?
- 56:45Speaker 1: When when I heard you guys talk about the kit
- 56:47Speaker 1: when it was first announced, I thought it sounded like
- 56:49Speaker 1: a really good idea. The the drip feed of prizes
- 56:53Speaker 1: to keep people coming back. I think we saw store
- 56:58Speaker 1: champion at least locally we store championships. I saw some
- 57:01Speaker 1: new faces through those, and then the Marsia Civil War
- 57:04Speaker 1: event saw some new faces for that, but I don't
- 57:08Speaker 1: I don't expect to see any new faces. I didn't
- 57:11Speaker 1: even go to the week you guys did Discovery. I
- 57:15Speaker 1: know you didn't see any new faces that week, right.
- 57:17Speaker 4: We haven't seen any new faces since you.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, well it was you and Alex, and like,
- 57:24Speaker 3: I've just been begging and pleading and bringing people in
- 57:27Speaker 3: and trying to go out, and it's I mean, I
- 57:29Speaker 3: can grab kids from school and we can play there,
- 57:31Speaker 3: and I can play in game clubs, and I can
- 57:33Speaker 3: talk with my board game group. But at a certain
- 57:36Speaker 3: point it becomes across as very needy. And that's why
- 57:41Speaker 3: I keep coming back to it is like I can
- 57:43Speaker 3: only do so much. I've shown everything to the store.
- 57:46Speaker 3: It's the same people we go around. Hey, have you
- 57:47Speaker 3: heard about keyboards? You want to play keyboards? You want
- 57:49Speaker 3: a deck? Do you want to play? But I don't
- 57:54Speaker 3: know what more to do outside of potentially going on
- 57:57Speaker 3: a different day. You're in a completely different area.
- 58:02Speaker 4: Put on his.
- 58:02Speaker 5: Flamingo shirt, right, isn't that the one the ladies?
- 58:05Speaker 1: Right?
- 58:06Speaker 5: That's indeed?
- 58:08Speaker 1: I guess I like, what what loco car does you know? Online?
- 58:11Speaker 1: With every Wednesday having his own prize wall. I know
- 58:15Speaker 1: that was a thing that can I've heard of that
- 58:17Speaker 1: as a thing in f FG days, which sounds really
- 58:20Speaker 1: entice and exciting, like show up each week and at
- 58:22Speaker 1: least make a little bit of progress towards something cool.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Even if you open up a stinker and go zero
- 58:26Speaker 1: to three, Like that's neat. What about it?
- 58:29Speaker 5: Like would you be into digital stickers, like like calm
- 58:34Speaker 5: a few times, Like get a digital sticker that you
- 58:37Speaker 5: can then put on a deck that you can print, Yeah,
- 58:41Speaker 5: or just like collect these digital.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Yeah? Does it ent p Yeah? I think those are
- 58:49Speaker 1: great ideas that's been pitched in depth on another on
- 58:53Speaker 1: Sydney's podcast. Right is this idea of this has to
- 58:56Speaker 1: be a relatively affordable thing to do, and I think
- 59:00Speaker 1: it is something that people would go for. And I
- 59:02Speaker 1: think anything that is done should focus in on what
- 59:05Speaker 1: is unique about KeyForge, and it's anything that kind of
- 59:09Speaker 1: drifts away from that. It's like you're going to get
- 59:11Speaker 1: demolished by Magic and any other hot new game that
- 59:14Speaker 1: comes on the market. Key Forge dolls unique properties and
- 59:16Speaker 1: one of those things is, yeah, personalize your deck. It's
- 59:19Speaker 1: the only one like it in the entire world.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Okay, So here here's my question. Because we've gone into
- 59:25Speaker 3: the deck and frankly, if I'm playing Magic, I can
- 59:29Speaker 3: open up three packs and maybe I'm walking in with
- 59:31Speaker 3: one card that I can use, but again I can
- 59:33Speaker 3: use that in a different area. Key Forge for prize
- 59:38Speaker 3: support just doesn't happen. It here's fifteen dollars and getting
- 59:41Speaker 3: one deck, so it's limiting the prize pool that can
- 59:44Speaker 3: go to others. My question comes, can we go ahead
- 59:50Speaker 3: and put cards that are full art foil, whatever they are,
- 59:57Speaker 3: but of one specific type and for them all you
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: can want towards it?
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: Yes, And the reason I say this.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: The reason I say this is because it should be
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: a lot easier to print. More Like here, I'm basically
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: printing a sheet and I'm cutting it, and that's thirty
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: six of them. It goes to the store and listen,
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: how cool would that be? So let's just say, like
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: for aria, right, so for like this week, it's uh
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: in here somewhere, in here somewhere, which is the part
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: that is super relevant right now. But each week you
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: go when you get the chance to win a full
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: art in here somewhere, and you can and you can
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: just I mean, I don't think this is difficult for
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: people to do. You know, like you can look at
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: a decklist and be like, oh, yes, there should be
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: four in here somewhere is you know like these Like
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, you.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: Gotta sle stuff anyways. So like if your opponent like, hey,
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: I want to do it quickly, just be like, hey,
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: I'm using alternate arts. Cool, let me deck check you
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: real quick and I can check your deck beforehand, or
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: you know, judges, if I'm.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: At locals, if you're going to cheat honestly at locals.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: If you're at local thing. But I'm talking about vulteers, Yes,
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: but at.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: The Vault tour, it's going to be checked. You're going
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: to see that it's there. They have the right to
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: check at any point in time.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Right and.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Goals.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: Yeah, if you're going to use it a local, like
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: you're going to sell some sleeves for that store, because
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: it'll be like, oh, I got the school car. Oh
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: I guess I got to sleep an right, it's so so.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean just like that is. I believe it's
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: a thousand million, kajillion percent doable, but for whatever reason,
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: they just do not want to pull the trigger on it.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: And well, I think I think it has the unique deck,
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: and so if I break it apart, it's no longer
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: a unique deck. But I'm saying at this point, I
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: think you can still retain your unique deck, but you're
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: just trading out for this alternate.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Art even more reprints now, yeah, I.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: Know, And that's why I'm saying it's even more unique.
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: You can do all the things you want to do,
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: like you probably you know what even be cool is
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: if you could have all right, I want so I
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: can now scan these into the Master of Ball enough
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: I want to get a deck reprinted. I can choose
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: that art and it will reprint that full art, right
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: that would be pretty cool. Yeah, right, and it'll just
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: it'll just come with it. It'll have the deck name
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: on it and all that good stuff.
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: If you can just ask for the full art, right
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: no no, no, no, yeah, yeah, you'd have to win
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: it or attend a local or something like. It's not
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: just going to be given to you. But I can
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: scan that QR code then, right, that you can put
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: on the bottom of the card, or you can just
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: put it into my digital inventory. I don't I don't
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: know how, Like, I mean, we're doing it somehow with
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: store championships that you know, you scan it and all
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: of a sudden, yep, it's able to be reprinted with
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: a sticker. Now why can't I just scan it be like, yeah,
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: I won this event and now everybody gets like this cool,
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: Like everybody can walk away with a cool card in
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: you know, in hand and be like, oh man, this
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: card is sweet. It doesn't even have to have like
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: new art, so there's no money being paid to new art.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: You're literally just making it bigger, right I mean, And
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna reveal it now. I'm working on
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: something on that my own right I have I have
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: in photoshop right now. I'm literally almost done because it
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: is very time intensive, especially when you get around the
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: Ember Pip and the and the and the little the
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: little icon. But I'm literally taking the boar. I just
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: took it in here somewhere, and I am literally just
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: shaving it down and getting rid of all of the extras,
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: right so I'm getting rid of the whole background to
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: just make a p ANDNG. So it's literally just a
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: border of the card right with the with the Geistoid
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: logo at the top left and the Ember Pip right there.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: And then all I'm gonna do is find I already
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: have the file ready for in here somewhere because it
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: was released as a I believe it was released as
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: a playmap, but either way, the big version is ready.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: I'm gonna blow it up. I'm gonna put it in there.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: I'm gonna ship it off to what the hell is
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: this company's name? Trying to find them now I had
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: them up here. I'm gonna ship it off to this
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: company and they're gonna make foil versions of it for me,
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: you know, and who knows what the back of the
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: card is gonna be maybe it's just a Arcons corner logo,
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: who gives a shit? And then at the bottom, maybe
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: we put maybe And I'm hoping to have them ready
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: for Roseville, right, so maybe at the bottom I put something.
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: I put something in bost Roseville twenty twenty five. And
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: you can even give these a wead Vault Tours. Right, Hey,
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: thanks for coming to the Vault Tour. Here's your card.
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: Oh you were top eight, you get a special junk restoration.
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: Oh you were top four, you get you also get
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: a special ecto chart. I'm named literally naming all guys
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: started cards. But like, take your tick, go with your commons,
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: go with cards that are very popular. It's not hard
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: to figure out what ones are popular. You fucking make
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: a top ten list every tournament, so you could figure
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: out what cards are very popular, and the most popular
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: card gets a treatment. And you can do this for
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: each Vault Tour, right, Roseville's can be in here somewhere,
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: Rochesters can be against all Flags. Toronto can be help
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: er bot right, like you could do you know again,
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: go on and you have an endless card supply, lottery
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: and all this art and this isn't different. I'm doing
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: it at my fucking house, no staff, just me.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: But I think if you're talking about that and you
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: announce it ahead of time, Wookie, like that would be
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: something to actually go seek. I just opened up on Easter,
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: so that Easter, while technically it was Easter Sunday, I
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: opened up all of my Vault tour GEOTAG decks from
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: last year, and I had a little sadness because the split.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: I mean, those decks were very, very consistent. My low
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: was sixty nine, I was bad. My high was seventy eight,
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: and outside of the one off deck for each of those,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: everything else was between seventy one and seventy four. I
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: have never seen a set of decks that are that uniform,
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: and that was more than just each of the vaults
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: that are there. But like it's something to collect. If
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: I knew that, hey, this is here, maybe it's for
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: participation you get one, and for going out and making
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: top eight, there's a different one. I think that you
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: can go ahead and run those cards. I think it
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: would be.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Something to add.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: It would be one for part you can do one
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: for Part two. Apation, you could do one for top eight.
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, and I don't know how much
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: of those little foiler stamps cost. But you know, maybe
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: you don't even do that, but you could have one
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: for participation, one for top eight, one for top four,
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: one for second place, one for winter. Then you can
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: do that for all three of yours.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: I don't think that you need to do it for
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: top four and top like top two.
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: I honestly this doesn't like literally what they now. Maybe
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: it's gonna cost you a bunch of money, but like
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: right now, I think that cost you pennies, pennies, pennies
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: and the return is nothing but upside.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that it's cool to have a little
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: flex to show, hey, look I made this top eight,
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: here's the card. It also potentially could be something to
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: trade or to be able to look for others.
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: And if it's individually for the man Dryoscorp. If I
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: gave you one in here somewhere, you're like, why I
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: got to get the other four?
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Now right?
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sorry the other three.
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: So now it.
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: Gives somebody to be like, hey, I'm looking to sell
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: my my in here something.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: They may not go for buckets of money, but they
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: will go for something. It gives a player who doesn't
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: care about that thing, the ability to get a return
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: of something on an investment as opposed to fucking nothing. Right,
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: thank you for your donation.
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: Do you know how much do you know? Do you
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: know how much money I made off of the g
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: Ota decks from the last year twelve dollars? Oh no,
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: it was it was negative. I actually shipped. I paid
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: for shipping around the world to be able to get
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: our decks from overseas, and so it actually costs me money.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: There was not a single cent that was made.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: Off they get doing so well in a vault tour.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: I paid money debt.
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: I wondered the Forest of Endor didn't a great economy.
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean I'm still proud to have that set,
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: and I'm working on an actual wooden display for it,
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: so there's some pride in that. But outside of my
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: individual pride, it's like it means nothing, and that's that's sad.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: That is really sad.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: Listen. It's a cool thing to have, but like, who
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: are you going to show it to?
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: I mean I made, as he said, I made a
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: bit for selling my geotech decks. I was only able
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: to sell like eight or something for twenty apiece, but
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: twenty a piece is literally five off of what a
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: normal deck would be. I guess it's something. And so
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: that's that's where you just need to look.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: For nothing.
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: Right, it's not a great set. So like that that's
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: a problem.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: Well, let's see, we're going to find out about uty soon.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: Yes you will. Are you gonna go ahead and actually
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: take some photos and send them out to everyone?
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: Yeah? Yeah, I think I will.
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: Yeah, so definitely check. I mean, that's that is something
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: fun for vaults. I'm not a big vault Master person.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: I think they could frankly do away with it, but
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: I appreciate DRez that you're going to be there, Manzula,
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: be there, and hopefully you guys will take that photos.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: They made vault Master a real thing. And by real thing,
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: I mean and you're gonna hear who is a JM
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: that complains about vault Master. I mean, we haven't heard
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: a complain about vault Master since we first came out.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: But if you made vault Master good, I bet you
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: more people would show up to vaults because there's something
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: to actually gain. There is no game. What did you
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: gain with your vault Master set?
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: Debt?
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: Debt?
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: So I mean to gain on it.
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: So like if if you made a Vault Master set.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Good.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: Oh no, it's exclusive. Yes, I paid hundreds of dollars
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: to travel there, to to eat there, to spend nights
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: in a hotel there, and to play there. I mean literally,
- 1:11:07Speaker 4: you're looking at and our cheapest vault to her, our
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: cheapest vault tour is Rosville, and it's still about three
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: hundred bucks to get there, eat, do your thing, and
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: then go home.
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: But but Wookie, I have such a great experience. It's
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: all about the experience, and so that just doesn't matter,
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: right to look at it.
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: But experience doesn't put food on the table, right, I
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: mean at the end of the day, right, I get it.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: This is hold on, gold on, hold on at the
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: end of the day. I understand this is a luxury cardboard, right.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: I understand that it can't all be about the money, right,
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: But to a certain company, it is all about the money, right.
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: And yes, all of us go there for different reasons.
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: I go there to get drunk, right, That's that's that's Listen.
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: It may not be for you you walk, but for me,
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: that's my weekend to let loose.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: I don't do that.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: I don't do that.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: That's a mental health break.
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: So going with you and Dan and Drascre and the
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: dras Corp experiences like these are my jam, right, Like,
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: these are the things that I enjoy doing because number one,
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: I'll get to see drass core really all too often.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: I get to see you with Dan a lot. But
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: it's not like we're bar hopping every weekend.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: So like drunk Dan's fun Dan. I don't know if
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: anybody knew that, but drunk Dan is fun Dan.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: He becomes significant in the side in your arm and
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: that gets annoying.
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: That that okay, So to be fair, I was gonna
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: say that is a unique experience only known to you,
- 1:12:49Speaker 4: like I have never had.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: None until it happens to others.
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: Yes, I mean my worst case scenario is he tries
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: to lift me up and dumps me on my head.
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: I mean, you don't need the loss of brain cells.
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: I'm just gonna say that.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: Well, so either way, right, But like they're just there
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: needs to be something there needs to be that draw
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: vault Masters. Originally, man, I remember that first first tour
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: vault Masters came out, and I had no plans on
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: going to anything that year, and I felt fomo until
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: until it came out that the set was dog water right.
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: Once the set was like, well, it doesn't even matter.
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: It no longer mattered to me.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think that's the problem is that we
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: don't even announce what the prizing is like coming into Rochester,
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: what's the prising?
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Yeah? What do you?
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: I mean, we're completely off cast against but slaps with Josh?
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: If you in, do you get to slap Josh? Do
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: you get to sexually harassed Josh?
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: No?
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: No, no, We're not going down this path.
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: I what what I did have an idea, but for
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: it that I forgot that I just remember it, so
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: thank you. All Right, another cool thing you can do
- 1:14:05Speaker 5: with cars? So they have the art, right and you
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: said make it big, right, Ye, everybody loves that. But
- 1:14:12Speaker 5: now right they own this art or license or whatever.
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: But uh, with all these AI tools, you could just
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: take a piece of art and transform it into a
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: different style. Now, so it's like you could get anime
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: style of that art, like really easily, right, Like even
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: cherity could do that.
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: Right, and that well, there's there's a lot.
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: When I can I pause you hear dress because there's
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: a lot of art there's a lot of artists. There's
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: a lot of artists who have real issues with AI.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: So I do want to at least state that as
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: a concern. I know that it's there. It's a tool.
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Some people really enjoy it, but not everyone, and so
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: I do have to at least voice that it. Our
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: artists are talented individuals who invest a lot of time
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: and energy to make their art. Sure, Okay, but yes,
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: if we can go ahead and utilize the original art
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: to modify, yeah, it could be an option.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: I agree.
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: We could upload your own art, right, you can make
- 1:15:17Speaker 5: his uh something like some newty cards or something, right, I.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: You know, I know Brad that he just got Rather
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: every everybody's free to free to like what they want.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: But gosh, hearing you guys talk about alternate card art
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: and full art cards. What an absolute nightmare? Half the
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: cards look the same? Yeah, No, like all the equanim
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: cards look the same to me. All the guys with
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: cards look the same to me. I could read a
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: card ten times and then see a week later and
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: bring it completely what it does. But I mean, that's
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: get a rookie or whatever they are.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: But but but I get rookie in But it's you
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: have the text that's below. Is it really that problematic
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: where you could look at the text and still read it.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: It's additional effort and energy.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: Okay, and I and I agree with that it is additional, and.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Then that that ties back to an agreement I have
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: with the game also, is like the there seems sometimes
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: to be really arbitrary the way mechanics work, like will
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: g R. You know, if I'm doing something to your
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: creatures on the board, sometimes it matters if I'm haunted.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: Sometimes it matters if you're haunted. And it seems arbitrary
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: and not consistent. So taking away text or changing the
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: card art is just like another layer on top of
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: the mind f of it all.
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: And that is a formatting issue from GG and frankly
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: before that with f FG, they needed to be a
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: lot more consistent with their formatting. They weren't. It's it
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: does create some issues for the game.
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: So I hear that, all right, Well we've gotten into that.
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: We've got into a lot over a lot of different things.
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: Holy Macarny, my brain is spinning. I'm not even going
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: to go into the fact that there was no marketing
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: for any of the Macarny.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: The the no marketing was the underlying component.
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: And don't you know, you know what would even be cool?
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: You know in your marketing, you know what would even
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: be cool. And we just talked about Carter and I
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: know you're against a pete, but you know it would
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: be really cool. Hey, the winner of this vault gets
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: to be in the next set. I don't know if
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: that's a big that might be a big cost, but
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: or you know, sort of right, well, what is it
- 1:17:47Speaker 4: to a tooth? Yeah, so five hundred.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: I don't know, maybe they get to pick it, maybe
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: they get to pick a ca Well, I guess picking
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: a card to be in the next set might be problematic.
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: I mean, that's more for worlds. The problem is is
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: that we.
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: Have maybe maybe people from Yeah.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: I was just gonna say, there's a backlog of people
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: from Game Found because not everyone came out in Amber
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: Skies And.
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: So that's cool.
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: Still.
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: People go to a Vault tour and win it, right,
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: I mean, go to a Vault tour and win it.
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know, Please don't win.
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: You're playing. I can't borrow anymore. If I would.
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: Win, I'd be so sad. And then i'd have to
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: go back to al Oh no, while.
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: They're there, I can spend Josh. I'm simply gonna go
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: ahead and say, I think that the ease of play
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: the Discovery Kit had really cool key charms. I like
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: the idea of trying to bring people back weekly.
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: Josh had nothing to do with this. Okay, gg, there
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: you go.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: All right? Does that make you feel better? But I
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: think that they kick as a whole miss because frankly,
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: Discovery kind of didn't hit. The timing was problematic, and
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: there was no marketing. So I know, we keep falling
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: into this trap, but we need marketing, Like you're gonna
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: have to reach.
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: Out to marketing, Facebook marketing.
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: Outside of Game Found. You have to do additional marketing.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: Like you can tell me that you're cold calling stores.
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: But wait if you say the cold called a store.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: Yes, when that is actually well known that they are
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: cold calling. That's part of their marketing plot. But they're
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: reaching out to Yes, they're calling stores that once sold
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: key Ford in order to see if they want to
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: sell key forards and support Keybords again. And and I
- 1:20:02Speaker 3: hear this, but where that is.
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: The worst marketing tactic I have ever heard that is
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: a waste of time cold calling.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: I will call, I will pay for your swear jar donator.
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: Hey, do you want to buy a game that burned
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: you in the past and now buy it again?
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: Boy?
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: Have I got a bridge to sell you?
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: So instead we need to provide players support and here's
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: your support at a very very reasonable If not, and again, honestly,
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: their kids aren't that expensive. But here is something. If
- 1:20:39Speaker 3: you're if you have people running, here's the event.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: If you made awesome kits, players would be begging their
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: local stores to get them.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: I feel.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Now the players who are who are going ahead and
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: asking for it anyway, Absolutely, I don't I don't. I
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: don't see any new players coming in.
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: But if you make a great kit, if you make something, yeah,
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: because you have to make something that people want, right
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: like key chains. Although I love the trinkets, I don't
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: think as a math math, as a mass hole. I
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: don't think the trinkets are gonna cut it right. I
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: think the no, No, it's a.
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: Great I think the key charm was appropriate.
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: One.
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: You have keys that can be used in the game,
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: but they're also something that can be put on with something.
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: But a new player like if they get handing them
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: a key chain, but it can be you.
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm fine with that there are limited there,
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: go ahead, Pete.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: That new player is probably upgrading their their cardboard tokens
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: if they had any in the first place, right.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: Or their pennies. I please please upgrade your pennies or
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: your cardboards.
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: Tud nickels.
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: Alright, so it's time to go into predictions for Rochester.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: We're we're not going crazy on predictions like we used to,
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: like who's going to win, because I don't even think
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: we all know who's going But what do we think?
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: And I tried to find this and it's probably somewhere
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: in our notes. I don't have the mental or real
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: need to figure out what Rochester's uh oh, seven, there
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: was seven people at Rochester last year. How many people
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: were in Rochester last year? It was pretty I thought
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: it was like sixty some How many people were Rochester
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: last year? Little Sea think's eighty eighty five? Eighty eighty five?
- 1:22:46Speaker 4: It's I'm sure it's somewhere in our notes. I just
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: don't remember. And I tried to look up the article,
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: and for whatever reason, I can't figure out how to
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: go back at their website used to have like a
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: read more section. We're like, you could see all the articles,
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: and I don't see that anymore. Am I crazy?
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: On? Now?
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: On anybody else not see it?
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: Just me?
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: It's in there somewhere.
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: So I'll be predicting sets. Is that what we're going
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: to do?
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:23:16Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: Right now? Right?
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: So right now? Okay, so what is the attendance going
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: to be? What is what is the attendance?
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: Hold on, I got I got you.
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I know, I know.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: You had exactly seventy two last year.
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: Seventy two last year.
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: Oh he even pulled it. I was coppying and moving
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: it up, all right, all.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: Right, So seventy two players went to Rochester. I think, Morgan,
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: I think you need to go to Rochester. Noah, soby
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: this year, right, none of the Canadians are showing up.
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: Too soon?
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: Okay, so that that's still too soon.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: I put it.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: I put it in green all of the vaults. That's right.
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: So Rochester had seventy in attendance, sixty one sealed, fifty
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: five arc and ten allions. Will we go single digits
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: and a lions boys?
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: Well, okay, so it depends.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: I'm out of order.
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: Let's start with how many attendants? So I am going
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: to say, well, under seventy. I am gonna I am
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: gonna go, man, I am gonna go. I want to
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: say thirty two. That's the first number that popped into
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: That's the number. That's the first number that popped into
- 1:24:35Speaker 4: my head was thirty two. So I'm gonna run with
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: no way. You can say that's too low. Everyone is
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: saying too low, And that's fine. I know it's I
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: know it's a big center. I'm just I'm going with
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: the first Literally, that's the first number that popped into
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: my head. So I'm running with it.
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: Pete draz and then I'll go, come on, what do
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: you guys get?
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: Well, that's a that's a mean answer, I think, and
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: that's a pessimistic answer. It's so I'm gonna do you
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: welcome to the Kid Show?
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: How picked it up?
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: The Oh?
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: I know, oh, I know the brand. I'm familiar. I'm
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: gonna go thirty.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: We gonna go two hours every.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: Week exactly, I'm gonna go thirty three. Whoa, whoa.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: That is like sorry, but he's that that call is
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: like validating Wookie there negativity.
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: Oh my best friend.
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: Wow, I need a whole other beverage here, Dress Court,
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: help me out. Brother.
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: All right, here's what I think. So so I so
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: if it was seventy two last year, I put my
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: number in.
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: Go dress.
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: I think I think I have two numbers. Of the
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: second the first number that's not allowed.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: You are allowed one and you can ask Metal Zoe
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: to say the other one.
- 1:25:51Speaker 5: The second number is gonna be the real number. I'm
- 1:25:54Speaker 5: gonna explain the first number, right, This is not It's
- 1:25:57Speaker 5: not my guess. I think try to recent scenarios, recent situations.
- 1:26:03Speaker 5: I think we I think we might have hit eighty.
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: I would agree with you.
- 1:26:08Speaker 5: And I think I think we're not going to see
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: a bunch of Canadians coming to the US, and I
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: think we're going to be closer to sixty sixty five,
- 1:26:21Speaker 5: So I'll say sixty.
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: Okay, Well, I put mine in. I gotta stick with it.
- 1:26:28Speaker 3: I think that we continue to have a little bit
- 1:26:31Speaker 3: of loss due to just players moving on to other games.
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: I may be under selling what we have for our
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: Canadians not coming down. I hope not. And I think
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: I put sixty five. I think that is probably generous.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: But with with the new news with where our presence
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: situation is. Yeah, with with the relationship between with tariffs
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: between a mayor in Canada or the rest of the world,
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: I think that it probably is going to be closer
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: to fifty five. But I'm still gonna I'm gonna be
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: the optimistic one. I'm going to say sixty five. I'm
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: going with it. Okay, So we have thirty two, thirty three,
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: sixty and sixty five.
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: May the best man win, all right?
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Yeah? Right.
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: I don't think there's a wrong answer in this scenario.
- 1:27:21Speaker 4: I just that's where I just I mean, I mean.
- 1:27:23Speaker 5: They're probably all wrong.
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: Probably, I mean they're they're wrong.
- 1:27:28Speaker 5: I mean, prices, what do you think, probably how many
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: people are going to show up to Rochester? Fifty He says,
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: fifty seven.
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: That is God, it is official.
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: Now, I feel that's a respectable answer.
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: Which he says, that's a respectable answer. We go cheers.
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: I think that for Prices Right Rules, you're spot on
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: the castscore.
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: I think Metal Zoe is probably actually closest in my opinion,
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: to Prices Right Rules. So probably I think he's gonna
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: be right.
- 1:28:02Speaker 4: Like I said, thirty two was the like, I don't
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: know why it just like you ever just have something
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: in the back of your head just scream at you
- 1:28:10Speaker 4: and go this.
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: If we if we honestly go from lookie, if we
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: go from seventy to thirty two or thirty three, I
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: am actually I will say, I am really worried.
- 1:28:23Speaker 4: And I know I think you should be.
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: I know what has been told to me, and I'm
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: a little sad about that. Numbers are not showing where
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: they were last year. But I got to be the
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: optimistic one. I got to be able to bring some positivity.
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: Bring the positivity. Nobody's upset at you.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: And honestly, last year for Roseville, we had forty in attendance,
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: thirty six for our com thirty two sealed, and twenty
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: nine lines. We had a wonderful time. But I think
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: the idea of will it be? Will it be stacked?
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: If the numbers are lower.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Will it be?
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: That's that's the question. So will it be stacked?
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: Okay, I'm gonna roll with it.
- 1:29:09Speaker 4: Will it be stacked? Yes or no? This is a
- 1:29:12Speaker 4: simple yes or no answer. Well, let's just say, let's
- 1:29:17Speaker 4: put it this way. If numbers are low. If if
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: numbers are low, right, because obviously if numbers are big enough,
- 1:29:24Speaker 4: they can't stack it. If numbers are low, will they
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: decide to stack the event? Because they have said in
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: their little dibbly do right, No, we're not going to
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: stack the event. No, how, no way, not going to happen.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: I believe I.
- 1:29:41Speaker 5: Think they've had time to think about this and that
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: they're not going to. Okay, you think otherwise, I do.
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: I feel if the numbers pan don't pan out the
- 1:29:56Speaker 4: way they want them to, or they don't pan out right,
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: and we end up in a in a Roseville situation, right,
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: and it's just Sydney trying to play alliance.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Right, It's like.
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: There will there will be others, it will be like
- 1:30:12Speaker 4: three or four others, right, depending on who's there else.
- 1:30:17Speaker 4: I don't know who's all going. I like the only
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: other people I can think.
- 1:30:20Speaker 5: Of, Marrow will play it. It'll be Sidney versus Cat
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: Marrow as the only.
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: T JDG is not going Canadian right. And then the
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: only other one I really know that would do much
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: of anything is boy Am I drawing a blank on
- 1:30:38Speaker 4: his name? No, not GOORLAMI totally drawing a blank in
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: his name right now names ancient bear Republic guy.
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: We just talked about him to eighty.
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: There we are, thank you, Avi, the only only so
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: with Havy being said, right, like, I think those are
- 1:31:02Speaker 4: the only two that would do much of anything, right,
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: all right, But I mean if I feel wait, I.
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: Stepped away for a split second, what is happening?
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: Oh, no, figure out we're trying to figure out, like
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: trying to figure out who else besides Sydney would be Like,
- 1:31:21Speaker 4: I want to play Alliance, but I think if numbers
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: are low, I think you will.
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: Cat Morrow is going to go ahead and play. It's
- 1:31:29Speaker 3: well known she will plays going to.
- 1:31:33Speaker 5: Be the immediate final, right.
- 1:31:36Speaker 4: But if not so, I am going with yes if
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: if numbers so you're saying no, Drascore, right, if numbers
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: are low, they still won't split it.
- 1:31:47Speaker 5: I yeah, that's what I'm gonna. Sorry, I uh, We'll say.
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: I believe that if numbers are low, they will one
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: hundred percent stack them elok or I'm sorry, Pete, You're next.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: I'll say, yeah, I guess if they if they're low enough,
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: you almost have to write to right or why have
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: Alliance at all? At that point?
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: Well, we've been asking that question for two years.
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I put in here, Yes, below fifteen, I don't
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: want to see it stacked. I think that they've said
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: they won't, but I everything that i'm hearing, everything that
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: i'm seeing, everything from the past, tells me otherwise. So
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: I'm saying yes. If it is below fifteen, I'm saying yes,
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: they will stack them. That can be good or bad
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: for those who are below fifteen. Yeah, fifteen entrance are
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: below fifteen total people. I think if there are less
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: than fifteen people for Alliance that it is reason for
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: it to be able to stack, because they want to
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: increase those numbers. But I'm simp My answer has to
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: go as a yes. But I am listing it as
- 1:32:54Speaker 3: a yes.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: Meals what you got?
- 1:32:59Speaker 5: Do you think we'll stack Alliance if the thumbers are
- 1:33:02Speaker 5: low on them? So they said they would. If we're
- 1:33:06Speaker 5: at forty eight, yes, forty eight total players below that,
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: you think they'll okay? So forty eight below forty eight
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: total players. He thinks they'll.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: Realize that Rochester's Alliance last year was ten.
- 1:33:25Speaker 5: There was ten in Rochester.
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: Ali, Yeah, there was a total seventy player, sixty one
- 1:33:31Speaker 3: played sealed fifty five alliance. I am not joking when sheep,
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: and I came up with the idea and it was mine,
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: let's go ahead and run sealed an Alliance on one
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: day and Sealed an arc Hunt on the other day.
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: And I know that there was a cast that talked
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: about going ahead and mixing those up. But I think
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: I'm not even joking. I don't think that Sealed will
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: beat out Alliance. I think it will, but I think
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: Sealed will also beat out Arkhon Like if you have
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: a mirror.
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: Every single time.
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: I think that right now that would actually have the
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: biggest pull on both days. And you just have two
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: sets of top eight, like first, if.
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: You don't me the choice of Sealed or all, I'm
- 1:34:17Speaker 4: playing two days of Sealed.
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: It really is the same, all right, Pete, mhm. You
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: came out to KFC with us. You are looking at
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: going to Roseville. Apparently we have Rottsville in here, so
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: I get it.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but.
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: When I'm looking here, I didn't even know it. If
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: you had a choice between Sealed an ARCon, which would
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: you choose?
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: And why I would choose sealed because it's even playing fields.
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: Everyone has a chance. I feel comfortable with the current sets.
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: I assume it's imber skies this year, well.
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: Who knows we got we got another question coming up
- 1:35:11Speaker 4: with that too.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: Yeah. And then as far as Arkon goes, uh yeah,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: I saw the file refrain. I don't. I don't file refrain.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: Players aren't going to be at every Vault tour, but.
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: It's not all twenty four. I really think that's more
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: of a world's representation. And not only is it worlds,
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: but it's like worlds. But we also pulled the best
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: decks from all of our friends.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: So absolutely, uh yeah. If I if I had an
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: Arkon deck I was really in love with and I
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: really wanted to test, I would I would use Arkon Oversealed.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: I'm almost there, but I haven't quite found the right one.
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: I think, ooh.
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: Morgan in our comments, so again you should follow along
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: with ac live show. We're still going going strong. They
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: should just kill Alliance.
- 1:35:56Speaker 4: They should.
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: I mean, there's a lot of answer will be back there.
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: I pick Arkon, but I do enjoy Sealed, and I
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: think that's where a lot of people are.
- 1:36:05Speaker 4: I honestly think they should do kill lions, right, or
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: if you want to keep it around, you do one
- 1:36:12Speaker 4: day sealed Alliance where you're able to Alliance your sealed
- 1:36:15Speaker 4: decks one day you get three pick one old school,
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: old school sealed Arkon.
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: Right, But the short answer is why is Alliance a
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: premiere format? It just doesn't hold, And.
- 1:36:27Speaker 4: I know because they want it to be, But it's
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: not anyway.
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: Beating our dead horse.
- 1:36:37Speaker 4: I'm not gonna let's see moving on. Well, okay, So
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: for ar Kan, what set will win?
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: Arkan?
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: Drascars going gr Yep, we're both typing at the same time.
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: E walk right, Oh you're gonna throw me next? I
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: I actually I still think g R. I think with
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: Bandola big there, I think that. Yeah, I think that
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: GR just is too strong with what's there?
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: Okay, go ahead, metal Zoa. Can you hear us?
- 1:37:16Speaker 5: What set do you think is going to end?
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: Arkhan ark.
- 1:37:24Speaker 5: Amber Sky's I don't know, right, some ass Pete's.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: I was very tempted to say amber Sky's because I
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: do think it's a like a sleepy giant. The more
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: that gets open eventually.
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: There it does.
- 1:37:41Speaker 3: What people are missing is that amber Sky's does not
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: have the same restrictions that g R has, and I
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: think that is really really important. What I don't for well,
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: for Arkan, it is just straight up.
- 1:37:57Speaker 5: So that is what you have.
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: I think there are no number of arc on decks
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: that can do it. I just I don't see it yet.
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: I have this. Okay, so gr ye.
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: Think I don't know. There are some tools to be
- 1:38:17Speaker 3: able to I don't know. It's a really good deck.
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: We'll have to say, I am. I am teetering right now. Okay,
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: Well you want to say I want to say g R.
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: Okay, but you're not.
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: I also want to say talk. So I will go
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: against the grain.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: He's going to talk.
- 1:38:39Speaker 4: I'll go talk just because everyone.
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: Else a g R. All right, I mean bettle zos
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: ever Sky, but yes.
- 1:38:46Speaker 4: Well everywhere every you know, I mean there's one, two,
- 1:38:49Speaker 4: three g rs. So I will say something along the
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: lines of talk. All right, moving into Alliance stress Corps,
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: what set take down Alliance?
- 1:39:04Speaker 5: Anybody you know? Frog leg is going to be thereat.
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: Are you going to be there? Yea, he's type and hold.
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: On we're waiting.
- 1:39:15Speaker 5: No, oh, he's not gonna be there.
- 1:39:18Speaker 4: All right, So so DT's out.
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: Yeah, no, vote Master twenty five go with the ultimate upset.
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: Mm hmmm. I mean uh so all right, so I
- 1:39:38Speaker 5: forget the so so Wadka's out right? Is that is
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: that true statement?
- 1:39:43Speaker 4: Vodka is not out, you're just oh wait and hold on, No,
- 1:39:49Speaker 4: they just out. Vadka is not out. They only were restricted,
- 1:39:55Speaker 4: did they were? Yeah? Because you only Morgan helped me.
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: All right, are you?
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: Here's the list? Are you ready be funtle? Any umbers,
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: any number, most farm, any number, hellifast one per dact
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: part of the forest, any number in furnace, any number,
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: jervy any number, here's where you care? Key abduction one
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: per deck, eginary trainer, any number, stealth mode any number,
- 1:40:23Speaker 3: United action any number, wins of death any number, and
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: so key abduction and death.
- 1:40:29Speaker 4: So no, wa okay, So yes, I couldn't remember if
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: they added wins because you know, I'm not really up
- 1:40:36Speaker 4: to date on my alliance.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:40Speaker 5: I think here's my guess. I think somebody gets a
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: whole ton of crazy house pips that just plays one
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: house wins skies. I think that somebody is cooking that
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: up and hasn't been hasn't been super sharing that. And
- 1:40:57Speaker 5: we're just gonna see every card is acing.
- 1:41:03Speaker 4: Every card.
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: Yeah, you just play every just play this every turn.
- 1:41:09Speaker 3: And have you been littering at it while you're have
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: you looked at the Okay. Have you seen any of
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: those decks that are pushing out that amount?
- 1:41:21Speaker 5: Okay, I've been looking at the Okay for alliance. I
- 1:41:25Speaker 5: look at the OKA all the time.
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: I look more than I need to, and wish and
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: hope and pray for decks and then I open not
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: lottery winners. Yeah, and that's where most of us are.
- 1:41:39Speaker 3: But the short answer, I look for decks. But even
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: hitting where you have eight pips coming out has not
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: existed five pips coming out is I don't think we've
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: hit five pips or it's very very very low. I
- 1:41:54Speaker 3: got to go in. That's one of the searches that
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: I had. It just that they're so in frequent and
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: that is just cards that can push out those, not
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: even of a single type. So we don't have access
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: to that amount. So mine was amber Sky's plus House Enhancements.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: That's with every single card here, Tattoo, Gratu, Fancy Donovan,
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: Phoenish Apprentice, literally, Serene, game Changer, literally all of them,
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: and we're looking at five or more and there were
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: zero decks. So you just don't have enough, in my opinion,
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: to push that.
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: So that's what you're going.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: So draz to go back. There are four out of
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: those cards, all of the house enhancements and amber Skies.
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: There are eleven decks that have four of them. Now, ironically,
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: I've been looking at this. Mars has two of those
- 1:42:58Speaker 3: cards and it shows up a little bit more frequently.
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: But I still don't think those pods are enough to
- 1:43:05Speaker 3: be able to win.
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: So with that being said, what set are you choosing?
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: No, I'm well known for going through here.
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: M do you want? Do you want us to come
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: back to you?
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: No, I'm gonna believe in my friends. I'm gonna believe
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: in my friends. One of the two amber Sky's players.
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: I'm going amber Sky's with a lockout. And I know
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: you're arguing it's too slow. I see it, but I'm
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: gonna go. I'm gonna I know, and I hear you,
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: but I have love for her, and so may may
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: our local an amazing Keyfode player.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: Do well? So Amber.
- 1:43:51Speaker 5: What's that's gonna win? A liance? We think Sydney's playing
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: a campus guys.
- 1:44:01Speaker 8: She is yeahs taken deep thoughts, Deep thoughts.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Talk talk.
- 1:44:17Speaker 4: Nasty stuff.
- 1:44:21Speaker 5: Alpha Gamma is the prediction.
- 1:44:23Speaker 4: Okay, okay, lots of archive, uh yeah, okay, you don't
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: get two cents e walk. I just put in I
- 1:44:36Speaker 4: have some love Amber Scott slash coda. You don't get
- 1:44:40Speaker 4: to you get to pick one sneak.
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: Alright, I go with the amber skyes. I will I'll
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: just be dress course twinning. We're gonna go ahead and
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: win this all.
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: Minute.
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: I turned back and all of a sudden, it says
- 1:44:54Speaker 4: amber size slash coda. I'm like, what are you doing, Pete.
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: That happens when you control of the.
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: Sheet also amber Sky, and you have to show me
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: how this search works for house pips, because I've not
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: found an efficient way to do it. It always results
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: in like five six, seven, eight different search terms per house.
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: Some interesting how that happens for it.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: So I will share this. This is my tidbit for everyone.
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: It was a pain in the side, but the best
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: way I found to do it is under cards. You
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: have to put any it says any of these cards,
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: and so I can individually put every single car that
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: has an enhancement. So I put Tattoo, Gradtu, Fancy Down, event, Fienish, Apprentice, Serene,
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: game Changer, vestaed, Harald, Google Keeping and literally listed all
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: of them, and then under copies, you can put in
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: one two and then you can see. That's when I
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: found if someone has an easier way, I would love
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: to see it, but that was the best way because
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: it is a little it's not efficient, it's not, but
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: that was the.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: Best has to be. There has to be at least
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: one copy of each card that you put in that list, though,
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: so you're excluding situations where one common appears. I don't
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: know what's the most times the comedic could appear four
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: or five times.
- 1:46:07Speaker 3: No, it's it's four copies. So if Bossom Crean shows
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: up four times, that would be in there. And there are.
- 1:46:15Speaker 4: Example he's just searching for any deck that consists of
- 1:46:19Speaker 4: those any of those those cards, and by searching, he's
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: not limited, like he's not just any decks that involve
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: those cards.
- 1:46:28Speaker 5: And so no yet.
- 1:46:33Speaker 3: So as a result, Nurian J Spark Papa the ninth
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: has Bossom Crean and it has a total of four
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: of them, so it hits the threshold of having four
- 1:46:45Speaker 3: of those cards, and then you can kind of see
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: it actually ends up having more because of there is
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: a disc or a geist a card that's also popping in.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: But but you would need to do a seven search
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: for boson Creative and then we.
- 1:47:02Speaker 4: Can talk about this in a different episode. All right, done,
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: got it almost two hours here.
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: I am going to get into the sweet spot here
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: for keeping. He's still driving, man, I am going to.
- 1:47:22Speaker 4: I am going with the dark Horse away.
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: Yes, I guess.
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: With Martian Generosity now being taken off of the list,
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: it does not matter anymore. Not only that you now
- 1:47:41Speaker 4: also have help from future selfs and the other one
- 1:47:45Speaker 4: that allow you to do crazy wacky stuff. So I
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: believe I believe it will be aoay.
- 1:47:55Speaker 9: Yeah, And that's why I that's why I put it
- 1:47:57Speaker 9: in CODA, because CODA has the option to actually have
- 1:48:01Speaker 9: battle fleet, it has help from future self, and it
- 1:48:05Speaker 9: has time traveler that can be repeated like.
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: All of that makes CODA that much more efficient, especially
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: with control the week. Yep, it's just it's a one
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: horse pony that has to lean heavily into it. But
- 1:48:21Speaker 3: I don't think that Dak or those pods are going
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: to be on the East coast, and so that's why
- 1:48:28Speaker 3: I'm still going to stick with Amber Scott.
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: So nuts Dad's gonna be there, Well, we will see.
- 1:48:34Speaker 4: I think that's what he's rocket. So all right, I
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: don't have I don't have official confirmation in this, but
- 1:48:40Speaker 4: I thought I heard something somewhere. Yeah, Morgan, this Alliance
- 1:48:46Speaker 4: convo is taking longer than an actual Alliance game. True, yep,
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: all right, all right, final very thing. We already did
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: our coun basically, Yeah, we did our count already. You
- 1:48:59Speaker 4: just kind of ye. So what set will be played
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: for sealed? Will it be Prophetic Visions or will it
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: be amber.
- 1:49:09Speaker 1: Sky's amber Skuy's.
- 1:49:13Speaker 4: We're gonna take it there, Okay, Yeah, I think it.
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: Is possible we might magically find a Prophetic Visions deck
- 1:49:22Speaker 5: in our but I that is not going to be see.
- 1:49:28Speaker 3: I think I think that you're going to see potentially
- 1:49:31Speaker 3: crucible clash, but I don't see prophetic visions.
- 1:49:34Speaker 5: Really, yes, are you sure they're even done designing that yet?
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: No?
- 1:49:44Speaker 5: I don't think they were all in their posts. They're like, look,
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: how doune we are with prophetic Visions. I was like,
- 1:49:51Speaker 5: I see nothing about crucial clash, and I think that
- 1:49:55Speaker 5: they're like, oh, ship, you did say, We're gonna design much.
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: Much like every other a bonus set. Ever, it'll just
- 1:50:02Speaker 4: be thrown together. So this is one dumb thing.
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: We don't need bonus sets. Do this the two sets
- 1:50:10Speaker 3: we're gonna have a year and do them right. Do
- 1:50:13Speaker 3: them right.
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: Last year still all woe? Or did it switch to
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: grimm reminders?
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: For it was immediately grim reminders there was They did
- 1:50:25Speaker 4: not They did not have a change in it whatsoever.
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: It was all just grim Reminders. So the g R
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: was out g R was out right, So I thought
- 1:50:35Speaker 4: it was yeah, because it's it's late this year, like
- 1:50:39Speaker 4: we already had g R in the game found.
- 1:50:42Speaker 3: So that's because they're designing it still. But anyway, let's
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: let's keep going of this. You got okay, I'm going
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: to amber Sky's. I think that's where they are. I
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: don't think that they're prepared for anything else.
- 1:50:57Speaker 5: And amber Sky is a really fun sealed set, so
- 1:51:00Speaker 5: I'm excited.
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: Go back to that statement, I don't know if I agree.
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: I like it, but I don't know if I would
- 1:51:10Speaker 3: say really fun.
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: The problem that I've had worse I've had worse sealed experiences.
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: Sure, I've had worse sealed experiences too, But the problem
- 1:51:23Speaker 3: that I find with amber Skies is that because the
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: creature Control specifically targeted creature control removal is missing. That
- 1:51:31Speaker 3: it does come down to who can build a board
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: to be able to win, and and that that hurts
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: at times. I think the top end, because you're going
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: to be opening three and then you can alliance or
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: put things together. I think that it gets a little
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: bit more fun and you're going to see some decks
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: that have some.
- 1:51:51Speaker 4: More But that's not what we're talking about right now.
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: What we're talking about right now is what set will
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: be there? Pete our Metal Zoe, what set will be at?
- 1:52:02Speaker 5: What do you think Rochester? Rochester will be amber Sky's
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: He says.
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: Scratching, There was head scratching. Yeah, it's it's gonna be
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: prophetic visions. They got a couple hot off the printer.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: They're gonna peel them off, They're gonna distribute them. People
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: are gonna cry because they didn't get their game found first,
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: and that's ridiculous. I have a game found. Why would
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: I care if somebody else got limited access to three decks?
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: Who cares? So maybe that's optimistic, but I think if
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: they can manage it somehow, they have to because it's
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: gonna suck for the other vaults to get the first
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: crack at it. And Rochester get stuck with the Amber
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: Sky's in might Opine.
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: Welcome being Pete.
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: Why aren't we better friends?
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: I agree, prophetic visions. No way, it's gonna be prophetic visions.
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: They are gonna make the worst decision they've ever made
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: in their life and piss off a whole bunch more
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: people because they can't get their ship together.
- 1:53:02Speaker 3: Does that mean prophetic visions takes this whole argon? It's
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: it's opened on the sealed and then throwing.
- 1:53:11Speaker 5: That's what they know people won't. I think they plan
- 1:53:16Speaker 5: to bring prothetic visions, but then they arrive and go,
- 1:53:18Speaker 5: oh ship, we forgot to pack it, and then they
- 1:53:21Speaker 5: just got to go to the store and buy Sky's.
- 1:53:23Speaker 5: Therefore we have Ecott.
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: No, it's gonna it's it's still on the palette. And
- 1:53:32Speaker 4: then the stile that they're at doesn't have enough ember
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: Sky is the actually do anything, so it's just whatever
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: whatever is available.
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: Well, yeah, they have the palette, and I think they
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: they're like, Okay, well this time we'll just put Jeremy
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: on the palette. That way it gets there. But Jeremy's
- 1:53:48Speaker 5: it's some pipa right now, go good? Like palette right,
- 1:53:55Speaker 5: it's just alone and scared. It's the warehouse.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: I realized a flaw with this plan is that can
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: you imagine what a nightmare be for the judges to
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: have everyone's first crack and a new set be in
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: a tournament?
- 1:54:10Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, no, judge.
- 1:54:16Speaker 4: What I mean that's no change from what happened last year?
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: Is that right?
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: I mean, the judges do have access ahead of time,
- 1:54:23Speaker 3: so I'm not worried about that, But.
- 1:54:27Speaker 4: There's always interactions that nobody plans for.
- 1:54:30Speaker 3: So well sure, because what we see is such a
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: small card pool and then all of a sudden, boom,
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: you throw it all together and you're like, oh, how
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: does that one happen?
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: And I don't doubt the judge's ability to troubleshoot these things.
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: I'm just saying the number of problems and hands in
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: the air would have to go way up if it's
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: a brand new set, right, it'd just be annoying for them.
- 1:54:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean, GG don't care. It's not their problem.
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: Literally is their problem schedule that the event gets whatever?
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: I don't know. Nah.
- 1:55:05Speaker 4: All right, that's all we got for this week's episode.
- 1:55:09Speaker 4: Thank you everybody for hanging around in the chat watch
- 1:55:13Speaker 4: the stream over on Gig's streaming channel. I'll try to
- 1:55:17Speaker 4: pop you popping in every every so often. I'll be
- 1:55:21Speaker 4: working this weekend, so I won't be able to see.
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: I'll be able to see probably little bits, little little
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: tidbits of it is an hour ahead of time. And
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: then we'll see if any drama comes from this year's Rochester.
- 1:55:33Speaker 4: Rochester is one for one in the drama community. That
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: happened last year, I'm hoping for more of this year.
- 1:55:38Speaker 4: Goodness well, I mean some of the most memorable, some
- 1:55:42Speaker 4: of the most memorable sleeves we have have come from
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: that event.
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: So Drazz middle Zoa, do you guys have amazing sleeves
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: for this ball tour? Some personalized sleeves.
- 1:55:56Speaker 5: I do not have amazing I don't know if that
- 1:56:00Speaker 5: so if you have anything exciting, now.
- 1:56:02Speaker 4: I'm gonna buy someone.
- 1:56:04Speaker 5: He's gonna buy something at the store when he gets there.
- 1:56:06Speaker 4: Man, what a good what a good fair even player
- 1:56:12Speaker 4: metals though it is Man.
- 1:56:14Speaker 5: I happen to know that uh man g has some
- 1:56:19Speaker 5: very exciting sleeves that he is very excited about.
- 1:56:25Speaker 4: Did do you care to spoil or.
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:56:30Speaker 5: I mean yeah, I guess it's basically so he got
- 1:56:34Speaker 5: the art, right, he did the big pudge, So he
- 1:56:38Speaker 5: basically took his own art of himself and like made
- 1:56:42Speaker 5: some exciting collage decks or sleeves with his own art.
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: So it's yeah, and uh does J J.
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: Stagan know about that? Though? I don't think they do,
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: all right, so I think what he might do, so
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: JJ is gonna be there. I don't think stras. So
- 1:57:05Speaker 5: JJ also got his own art, so at this point,
- 1:57:11Speaker 5: if he does it, he'll already know. So this this
- 1:57:13Speaker 5: is not a spoiler in advance.
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: But he took.
- 1:57:18Speaker 5: JJ's art, and then he took his art and he
- 1:57:22Speaker 5: added himself all over JJ's art, like in front of him,
- 1:57:26Speaker 5: blocking him, like so you can start. I can't see
- 1:57:28Speaker 5: it very well. So it's basically JJ's art with him
- 1:57:31Speaker 5: all over it, like, which is I think pretty hilarious.
- 1:57:35Speaker 5: Uh so, oh that was a lightning Here you go,
- 1:57:38Speaker 5: look at that. Uh So, I thought it was a
- 1:57:44Speaker 5: pretty pretty hilarious idea. There you go, fair enough.
- 1:57:51Speaker 4: I definitely am planning on coming with some thirst trap
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: sleeves to rose.
- 1:57:57Speaker 5: Oh yeah, all right, that's just yourself without a shirt on.
- 1:58:02Speaker 4: No, okay, but we'll see if I get We'll see
- 1:58:06Speaker 4: if I get kicked out or not? All right, all right,
- 1:58:11Speaker 4: fingers fingers crying, we're hoping. Oh that's a good one.
- 1:58:19Speaker 4: This one's even better than the first one.
- 1:58:21Speaker 5: Yeah, we're gonna We're definitely gonna have some transport experience
- 1:58:24Speaker 5: going on, so I will let everybody know about that.
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: You will have to report back.
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: And this is why some things will get pushed back,
- 1:58:32Speaker 3: because we will have an update after the vaults and
- 1:58:34Speaker 3: it will be good. But we'll have some weeks. We'll
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: get into some amazing things, so have fun. Be safe.
- 1:58:41Speaker 4: Absolutely, But with that being said, we will see you
- 1:58:44Speaker 4: all next week.
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: May the Forge be with you.
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: Responsibly or wizz guy instead of believe are they sponsoring
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: the thing? Not yet, not yet, We're working, all right.
- 1:59:11Speaker 4: Slide in and I slide in and out.
- 1:59:13Speaker 2: Slide all right, I'm gonna throw a bag. Let me
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: give you the ft juicy and pay juicy. And when
