- 0:01Speaker 1: Thanks Mike Lane. It was a three to two win
- 0:03Speaker 1: for your guys. The other night against the La Kings.
- 0:05Speaker 1: You snapped the slide that you were on the power play,
- 0:08Speaker 1: getting three for seven on their opportunities. All in all,
- 0:10Speaker 1: pretty good night for Seattle.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:12Speaker 3: We I just thought we played well, and I you know,
- 0:17Speaker 3: I've been saying and I've been saying that for the
- 0:19Speaker 3: most part, we've been playing well, you know, and then
- 0:23Speaker 3: they went ahead with you know, five minutes left or
- 0:26Speaker 3: whatever it was, and and you know, it was really
- 0:29Speaker 3: a huge thing that we tied it up, you know,
- 0:32Speaker 3: with our goalie pulled and we're able to get the
- 0:35Speaker 3: victory because our guys have been working hard and I
- 0:40Speaker 3: just feel like they deserved a you know, a break
- 0:42Speaker 3: and a better fate.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Than maybe what we've been getting.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And so it was good to see going into that
- 0:50Speaker 1: time out of the third period. What was that message
- 0:52Speaker 1: to your group?
- 0:54Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you know what I mean, at the end
- 0:55Speaker 3: of the day, you can't dwell on the past.
- 0:59Speaker 2: You just got to focus on what's next.
- 1:03Speaker 3: You know, after we gave up that peak a goal,
- 1:04Speaker 3: we still had another two minute kill, and I thought
- 1:07Speaker 3: our guys did an outstanding job of doing that. You
- 1:10Speaker 3: talk about timing and timely kills. You know, if they
- 1:13Speaker 3: score back to back three.
- 1:14Speaker 2: One games over.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, so we had some We had some solid efforts
- 1:18Speaker 3: when we needed them, from both the power play and
- 1:20Speaker 3: the penalty film.
- 1:21Speaker 1: You've got power play goals now in three of your
- 1:23Speaker 1: last five games. Do you think that this power play
- 1:26Speaker 1: has turned that proverbial corner from what you've been seeing
- 1:29Speaker 1: the last halfle.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Well, look at you know, I keep saying you're going
- 1:34Speaker 3: to go through little peaks and valleys, and you know,
- 1:38Speaker 3: with twelve shots on goal against Edmonton, everybody thought the
- 1:42Speaker 3: power play, oh was you know, in trouble. But you
- 1:46Speaker 3: got to look at the you know, you got to
- 1:48Speaker 3: look at the volume and the shot volume and what
- 1:50Speaker 3: was happening, and you know at some point we were
- 1:53Speaker 3: going to break out of it.
- 1:53Speaker 2: And we did.
- 1:55Speaker 1: We just found out earlier this morning. Jared mccannon back
- 1:58Speaker 1: on the injury reserved list three weeks with a lower
- 2:00Speaker 1: body injury. We could ask you this a million times,
- 2:04Speaker 1: but we'll ask you a million and one. What does
- 2:06Speaker 1: this loss mean for the Seattle Crackett And I guess
- 2:08Speaker 1: it's for on a personal note for Jared, I mean
- 2:11Speaker 1: it's got to be frustrating for him to not be
- 2:13Speaker 1: able to get this season off the way he wants it.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you know, it's been a struggle for
- 2:19Speaker 3: him right from the start, with a variation of injuries.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And not much time spent on the ice.
- 2:27Speaker 3: You know, I feel bad for him, clearly, it would
- 2:30Speaker 3: you know, it would be tough to go through, you know,
- 2:33Speaker 3: and just got to somehow try and find a way
- 2:35Speaker 3: to move forward and you know, focus on his recovery
- 2:39Speaker 3: and his rehab. You know, for our hockey team, you know,
- 2:44Speaker 3: he's basically a point a game guy for us. You know,
- 2:47Speaker 3: it's really hard to replace that, especially where we haven't
- 2:51Speaker 3: been scoring a lot of goals. And you know, he
- 2:54Speaker 3: fits in real nice on that line with Viniars and every.
- 2:57Speaker 2: So that poses a little bit of a problem.
- 3:00Speaker 3: And you know, with Schwartz and cag and also being out,
- 3:05Speaker 3: you know, we're challenged.
- 3:06Speaker 2: We're challenged offensively for sure. But at the end of
- 3:10Speaker 2: the day, you know, it is what it is.
- 3:11Speaker 3: We have to find guys and find ways to step
- 3:14Speaker 3: up and win hockey games.
- 3:15Speaker 2: There's always a way to win a game.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Earlier this morning in Mediaville, you said that there's some
- 3:19Speaker 1: guys who are battling some sicknesses along with the guys
- 3:22Speaker 1: you just mentioned who are out from injury. How does
- 3:25Speaker 1: that game how does that impact the game plan here
- 3:27Speaker 1: tonight against a Utah team that is skilled as fast
- 3:30Speaker 1: they they're themselves. One of the surprises of this league
- 3:33Speaker 1: early on? What is that game plan for your team
- 3:35Speaker 1: like tonight?
- 3:36Speaker 3: It doesn't change, you know, just we plug different personnel
- 3:40Speaker 3: into different places.
- 3:41Speaker 2: You know, whether we play eleven d and you.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Know, or eleven forward sorry and seven defensemen or twelve
- 3:46Speaker 3: forwards and sixty we don't even know right now. We've
- 3:49Speaker 3: got a couple guys that didn't even come to the
- 3:51Speaker 3: rink this morning. So at the end of the day,
- 3:53Speaker 3: the game starts at seven o'clock, you got to be
- 3:55Speaker 3: ready to go.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Dash Strip continues a kind of a weird quirk in Seattle,
- 4:00Speaker 1: the La King's mom's trip also overlapping with the.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Crack and dad's trip.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Have you ever seen two trips like that over overlap?
- 4:06Speaker 1: And now that we're forty eight hours in, what's it
- 4:09Speaker 1: been like having the dads around and seeing, you know,
- 4:11Speaker 1: again where your players come from and the people that
- 4:14Speaker 1: they've been able to turn into because of their parents.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's really good.
- 4:18Speaker 3: And I don't recall seeing you know, sort of them
- 4:22Speaker 3: overlap kind of thing. But you know, for us, it's important.
- 4:29Speaker 3: It's important to see it. You know, you get you
- 4:31Speaker 3: get to see character traits you know that you know,
- 4:34Speaker 3: dads and sons have. You know, it's kind of interesting.
- 4:38Speaker 3: It's kind of cool to see that. I get to
- 4:40Speaker 3: know the parents on a little bit more personal level,
- 4:45Speaker 3: you know, with you know, going for dinner last night
- 4:47Speaker 3: with everybody. It was quite a crew, a lot of people,
- 4:49Speaker 3: a lot of numbers. Team services guy has been challenged
- 4:52Speaker 3: the last couple of days, but you know, just really
- 4:57Speaker 3: really nice to be able to see, you know, the
- 5:00Speaker 3: players and staff members share with you know, their person
- 5:05Speaker 3: whatever that might be, you know, share what their experiences
- 5:09Speaker 3: are and what they go through on a daily basis.
- 5:11Speaker 2: We did meetings this morning.
- 5:14Speaker 3: You know, they were all there for the meetings that
- 5:17Speaker 3: we have with the players and stuff.
- 5:19Speaker 2: There's a lot more that goes into.
- 5:20Speaker 3: A hockey game and getting randed for a hockey game
- 5:22Speaker 3: than just stepping out on the ice.
- 5:24Speaker 2: So good for them to
- 5:25Speaker 3: Be able to see what their sons go through on
- 5:28Speaker 3: a daily basis
