Today we focus on three basic question words: wie, wat, and waar. Who, what, and where. Luna: Wie, wat, waar. Got it. Lucas: Let's start with wie. It means 'who'. Listen: wie. Luna: Wie. Lucas: Perfect. Now a full question: Wie ben jij? — Who are you? Luna: Wie ben jij? Lucas: Yes! So if someone asks you that, you say 'Ik ben Luna.' Try it. Luna: Ik ben Luna. Easy. Lucas: Now wat — what. Say it after me: wat. Luna: Wat. Lucas: Wat is dat? — What is that? Luna: Wat is dat? I can use that all the time. Lucas: For sure. Point at something and ask 'Wat is dat?' Great for learning new words. Luna: Wat is dat? Hmm, a book? Het is een boek. Lucas: Nice! Now waar — where. Say it: waar. Luna: Waar. Lucas: Waar is het? — Where is it? Luna: Waar is het? Lucas: If you're looking for something, you ask 'Waar is het?' Like 'Waar is mijn boek?' Luna: Waar is mijn boek? Ah, I see. So we combine waar with 'mijn'. Lucas: Exactly. You're catching on fast. Let's practice all three in a little scene. Luna: Let's do it. Lucas: I'll play a stranger. You ask me who I am: Wie ben jij? Luna: Wie ben jij? Lucas: Ik ben Lucas. Now ask what that thing on the table is. Luna: Wat is dat? Lucas: Dat is een pen. Now ask where the pen is. Luna: Waar is de pen? Lucas: Hier is de pen. Perfect! You just used all three question words. Luna: Wow, that felt natural. Lucas: That's the goal. Now let's do a quick review. I say the English, you say the Dutch. Luna: Okay, hit me. Lucas: Who.
