Latest / PTT Music Podcast / Life-First Music: Sound That Supports Real Life
Transcript
- 0:21You know, Ava, I was looking at some industry data the other day,
- 0:25and almost eighty percent of music podcasts start with some kind of celebrity
- 0:30gossip, or who is feuding on social media, or just endless album promos.
- 0:36It, it, it is all about the hype cycle.
- 0:39But what if you completely flipped that?
- 0:43What if you designed a show where the music is actually a secondary entry point,
- 0:48and you start instead with a, with a real, raw human challenge?
- 0:52Right, like starting with the actual human element first.
- 0:57Not the song, but the, the human condition.
- 1:01It is what we call building a life first framework.
- 1:05It is funny because when we talk about creating music with purpose,
- 1:09it sounds like a nice slogan, but the creative tension is real.
- 1:14If you do not start with the human element, the music just becomes,
- 1:18well, background noise.
- 1:21It is just another catchy hook filling the silence.
- 1:24Exactly, and that is where the brand philosophy of sound with impact comes in.
- 1:30It is not just about making a track that sounds good in your car.
- 1:34It is about how that sound actually interacts with your, with your brain,
- 1:38your emotions.
- 1:40Ava, you always talk about how clean music meets the heartbeat of inspiration.
- 1:46What does that actually look like when someone is, say, having a terrible day at
- 1:49work?
- 1:50Well, think about it as a pattern interrupt.
- 1:53When you are stressed, your mind is running in this loop of,
- 1:57of negative projection, right?
- 1:59Your heart rate is up, you are in that survival state.
- 2:03Clean music, where the power of clean music meets the heartbeat of inspiration,
- 2:09acts as a technological scaffold.
- 2:12We use specific high-tempo, positive melodies designed to sync with your cognitive
- 2:18state and help redirect your thoughts toward clarity, confidence,
- 2:23and forward movement.
- 2:25It is like a hand reaching into the gears, helping them engage in a healthier
- 2:29direction so you can regain your focus.
- 2:33Your thoughts begin working for you, instead of against you.
- 2:37Okay, but how do we actually do that without sounding like a commercial?
- 2:43Because listeners can smell a forced transition from a mile away.
- 2:47If we are talking about, say, overcoming a massive setback,
- 2:52and suddenly we just drop a track, it feels, uh, it feels preachy.
- 2:57It feels like we are saying, hey, buy this song and everything will be alright.
- 3:02Oh, absolutely.
- 3:04The trick is natural integration.
- 3:06The music has to support the dialogue, never dominate it.
- 3:11Think about it like a film score.
- 3:13In a great movie, the score does not jump out and scream, look at me!
- 3:18It, it, it underlines the emotion already happening in the scene.
- 3:22Like, if we are discussing resilience, we might have a track playing,
- 3:27where the rhythm matches the steady, step by step progress we are talking about.
- 3:31It anchors the lesson in your body, not just your head.
- 3:35That actually makes a lot of sense.
- 3:37So instead of saying, 'Here's a song that's going to fix all of your problems,'
- 3:41we're saying, 'Here's a song that reinforces what we've already been talking about.
- 3:47Exactly.
- 3:48Take the PTT Music song 'It's Red.'
- 3:51Throughout this conversation we've been talking about interrupting negative thinking
- 3:55and choosing your next wise step.
- 3:58That song reinforces the same message.
- 4:01It acknowledges that life gets difficult, that sometimes you feel defeated or
- 4:06overwhelmed, but then it pivots toward resilience, changing your mindset,
- 4:11and continuing to move forward.
- 4:14It's not replacing the conversation-it's strengthening it.
- 4:18That makes total sense.
- 4:20And that brings us to how we actually talk about this stuff,
- 4:23the, the vocabulary itself.
- 4:25We have this very specific, strict communication framework we call the preferred
- 4:31language blueprint.
- 4:33We deliberately avoid fear-based messaging, divisive topics,
- 4:37and empty hype.
- 4:38Instead, we anchor everything in words like resilience, character,
- 4:43and emotional intelligence.
- 4:45And honestly, it is actually much harder to write and talk this way.
- 4:50When you strip away the easy targets, the controversies, it,
- 4:54it forces a much higher level of intellectual rigor.
- 4:58It really does.
- 5:00Because you cannot hide behind cheap outrage.
- 5:03You have to offer actual value.
- 5:07And that shape is reflected in how you and I interact, too.
- 5:11You are always the one providing the, the structure, the practical life application,
- 5:16the intellectual map.
- 5:18And then my job is to bring the empathy, the, the emotional insight,
- 5:23to ask the follow up questions that make a listener go, oh,
- 5:28they are actually talking about me right now.
- 5:32Right, like we are two trusted friends having a late night kitchen chat,
- 5:37rather than two presenters reading from a script.
- 5:40And we always anchor that chat in action.
- 5:43We do not just leave people with nice feelings.
- 5:46We always close with exactly three practical action steps they can take right now.
- 5:53Yes!
- 5:54Three concrete things.
- 5:56It is about agency.
- 5:58We want people to finish an episode and immediately go do something that moves them
- 6:03forward.
- 6:04And that feeds right into how we say goodbye every single time,
- 6:08inviting them to continue that journey with us and stream the music that helps them
- 6:12connect with their true potential.
- 6:14Exactly.
- 6:16Well, let us share those three action steps for today's discussion on our framework
- 6:20itself.
- 6:22First, pay attention to your daily audio intake.
- 6:26For the next forty eight hours, notice if the music or podcasts you listen to are
- 6:31bringing you up or pulling you down.
- 6:34Second, identify your personal pattern interrupt.
- 6:38Find one clean, high energy track that you can play specifically when you feel
- 6:43yourself slipping into stress.
- 6:45And third, practice active listening.
- 6:48Next time you hear a song, try to identify the emotional purpose behind the
- 6:53production decisions.
- 6:54Such simple but powerful shifts.
- 6:58Well, that brings us to the end of today's behind the scenes look at how we build
- 7:02this show.
