- 0:42Speaker 1: can typically find the link in our show notes. That's right. Oh,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and you can also email us if you have any
- 0:49Speaker 1: you know, reviews of your own views of the podcast. Whatever.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Megan and Wendy at gmail dot com. Speaking of reviews
- 0:57Speaker 1: of the podcast, we love it when you leave one
- 0:59Speaker 1: in the app podcast system. We moved Girls On Hallmark
- 1:03Speaker 1: over to its new home just a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:06Speaker 1: and we want everybody to find us and know how
- 1:09Speaker 1: great we are, so we leave your five star ratings
- 1:12Speaker 1: and reviews so we can grow that Girl's Gone Hallmark community. Yeah,
- 1:16Speaker 1: which relates to the next thing we want to talk about. Yeah,
- 1:19Speaker 1: we want to talk about rama. Drama. Yeah, rama drama.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Christmas in Chicago So Megan and I have just recently
- 1:28Speaker 1: booked a trip to Denver, kind of like a girl's
- 1:31Speaker 1: getaway weekend to the holidays, And as soon as we
- 1:35Speaker 1: booked it, they released the information about this rama drama
- 1:38Speaker 1: in Chicago, and I was like, do we need to
- 1:41Speaker 1: go to Chicago instead? She's shaking her head no, And
- 1:44Speaker 1: I think this is why, because ticket prices run from
- 1:46Speaker 1: four hundred to seven hundred dollars, depending on how much
- 1:50Speaker 1: access you want. Sure. So basically what it is, it's
- 1:54Speaker 1: like a comic con for Homework, right, Hallmark fan event.
- 1:58Speaker 1: It's December second and third. It kicks off with a
- 2:01Speaker 1: holiday cocktail event where you can mingle with some of
- 2:04Speaker 1: your favorite Hallmark stars kind of vague, doesn't say exactly
- 2:08Speaker 1: who at that point. Yeah. And then the next day
- 2:13Speaker 1: there's a holiday brunch and I think that's just for fun.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I don't think there's actually Hamewark celebrities there cleberties. And
- 2:22Speaker 1: then finally that day they have viewings of two of
- 2:26Speaker 1: this year's movies, A Fabled Holiday with Ryan Pavey and
- 2:29Speaker 1: Brooke Doorce. Yeah, and then Three Wise Men and a
- 2:33Speaker 1: Baby with the Trifecta. Yeah, the Homework Trio du jour
- 2:40Speaker 1: h and I guess they're supposed to be there for
- 2:43Speaker 1: like commentary and fan questions and so on and so forth.
- 2:46Speaker 1: And now, to be serious, would you actually prefer this
- 2:51Speaker 1: over our Denver trip? No, because it's too far. It
- 2:54Speaker 1: is too far. Also, there's a lot of like I
- 2:57Speaker 1: don't want to while I would be interested in a
- 2:59Speaker 1: ten an event like this, like I want to do.
- 3:02Speaker 1: There's lots of holiday things I want to do and
- 3:05Speaker 1: I don't know, so I want to spend my entire
- 3:07Speaker 1: weekend in the Hallmark World. There is a similar event
- 3:10Speaker 1: called Christmas Con. It's in New Jersey on December ninth, tenth,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and eleventh at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It is more affordable, although some of the passes are
- 3:20Speaker 1: already sold out. As far as I can tell, only
- 3:24Speaker 1: the Friday and Sunday passes are still available. Christmas Con
- 3:28Speaker 1: was here in Pasadena over the summer, and we didn't go.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Why in the summer? Well, I think they do them
- 3:36Speaker 1: throughout the year. Is it coming back? It hasn't been
- 3:39Speaker 1: announced yet, But who did Christmas Con draw? Like? We
- 3:44Speaker 1: never talked about going, though, did we? I mean, I
- 3:47Speaker 1: sent it to you but you weren't available, was I was?
- 3:49Speaker 1: I you traveled so much during the summer, I wasn't available.
- 3:54Speaker 1: We weren't traveling that again anyway. So in the promotional
- 3:59Speaker 1: image on Instagram for Christmas Con in August, it's Lazy Shabert,
- 4:02Speaker 1: It's Jonathan Bennett, It's it's Paul Campbell, Ryan Pavey, Erica Cahill,
- 4:07Speaker 1: Andrew Walker, Nikki DeLoach, Brendan Elliott, Jesse Metcalf. I mean
- 4:12Speaker 1: it was it was Hallmark right like they were there.
- 4:16Speaker 1: So I would be willing to go again when they're here.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I would. I'm definitely open to it. And so I
- 4:22Speaker 1: mentioned that in our Facebook group and they were like,
- 4:24Speaker 1: don't just go, like be a part of it. How
- 4:27Speaker 1: does that happen? I don't know. Host a panel? Oh, okay,
- 4:31Speaker 1: call us, let's try to pitch them. Okay, we can
- 4:35Speaker 1: host the interactive panel with yes, dude, somebody one of
- 4:41Speaker 1: the actors or actresses. So if you're a Hallmark fan
- 4:44Speaker 1: in Chicago or New Jersey or in driving distance of
- 4:47Speaker 1: those locations, maybe you want to go. If you've ever
- 4:50Speaker 1: been to a Hallmark fan event, I'd love to know
- 4:52Speaker 1: what it's like. Me too, do you think it's like
- 4:56Speaker 1: screaming women? You know, Lenny and I Serve years ago
- 5:00Speaker 1: went to VidCon in southern California and it was like
- 5:03Speaker 1: screaming teenagers over all the big YouTubers, but never go.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Do you think it's like the middle aged woman equivalent
- 5:10Speaker 1: of that? I do, because recently Bravo had their Bravo Yeah. Yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 1: like it was middle aged women and gay men probably
- 5:19Speaker 1: in attendance and like screaming over their favorite housewives, which
- 5:22Speaker 1: I had serious pomo and wish I would have went. Yes,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I am a Bravo fan, so I think it's probably
- 5:28Speaker 1: similar to that. Uh huh, Okay, maybe not as many people,
- 5:32Speaker 1: but what do I know. I don't. Let's go. We're
- 5:35Speaker 1: gonna go to the Pasadena one next summer. Bring it back, y'all.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Do you have a Maple Valley Christmas synopsis? Hold on,
- 5:43Speaker 1: but you don't jump ahead too too much because I
- 5:46Speaker 1: have a little bit of a Hallmark News and notes. Oh,
- 5:49Speaker 1: during my research for this movie, I bumped on an
- 5:53Speaker 1: exciting discovery that I have not seen announced yet. Paul
- 5:57Speaker 1: Ziller is the director of this movie, and according to
- 6:01Speaker 1: his IMDb, he's in pre production of Grilling Season, A
- 6:06Speaker 1: Curious Caterer Andrew Walker and nilu Wo. I know I
- 6:13Speaker 1: haven't seen it announced anywhere. Nothing season, Grilling Season. It's
- 6:20Speaker 1: gotta be a summer movie. Don't you think that's so fun?
- 6:23Speaker 1: I know, I know, I'm really excited for his great
- 6:26Speaker 1: news because I really liked that movie Dying for Chocolate. Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 1: me too. There was a lot of like sexual tension
- 6:34Speaker 1: between those two, Yeah, and it was they's gonna drag
- 6:38Speaker 1: it out through the entire yies. Yes, Grilling Season. So
- 6:41Speaker 1: I'm hoping Grilling Season is reflective of summertime, I think.
- 6:45Speaker 1: So hopefully next summer we'll have a race, we'll have
- 6:48Speaker 1: another curious caterer. Exciting, right, made my whole day. Okay,
- 6:52Speaker 1: it's gonna be the best part of this episode. All right,
- 6:56Speaker 1: let's talk news and notes about in Maple Valley, Chris, Nope,
- 7:00Speaker 1: we need a synopsis first. We do My Bad Amable
- 7:04Speaker 1: Valley Christmas premier don Hallmark Movies and Mysteries on Saturday,
- 7:07Speaker 1: November fifth. Rancher Erica has spent her whole life working
- 7:11Speaker 1: the family farm with her mother and sister. When Aaron
- 7:14Speaker 1: arrives and disrupts her plans, she starts to question what
- 7:18Speaker 1: she is, what she actually wants? Sorry, sorry Peyton, listen
- 7:22Speaker 1: Andrew Walker. Okay, News and notes. This story is based
- 7:27Speaker 1: off a book of the same name by author Jerry
- 7:31Speaker 1: Taught t DT reading the synopsis of the book not
- 7:35Speaker 1: quite the same story, similar but not exact. It's been
- 7:40Speaker 1: adapted by writer Joa. Botkin, who returns we just talked
- 7:45Speaker 1: about her, dude. She also wrote mid Love Crisis. She
- 7:49Speaker 1: wrote The Christmas Contest, Beverly Hills Wedding, Cranberry Christmas, among others,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and the upcoming are Italian Christmas Memories. Hmmm, come on.
- 7:59Speaker 1: This appears to be payton List's first Hallmark movie. She
- 8:02Speaker 1: did have a recurring role on Madmen, but she is
- 8:05Speaker 1: perhaps best known for a show called The Tomorrow People
- 8:07Speaker 1: that I have never heard of. I don't say to
- 8:10Speaker 1: throw shade. I don't watch all of the TV I know.
- 8:14Speaker 1: She's also in The Rookie Blade Runner, Charmed, and Star Trek,
- 8:17Speaker 1: which Charmed I think is a reboot. Okay it wasn't
- 8:21Speaker 1: the original. No, she's too young, and I just I've
- 8:26Speaker 1: never seen her in my entire life. Never nothing, just
- 8:29Speaker 1: zero things. No, but you know I would, uh well,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I'll save it. I'll save it, Okay, okay. Paul Ziller
- 8:36Speaker 1: directed tons of directing credits, including this year's We Wish You,
- 8:40Speaker 1: We Wish You a Married Christmas at Dickens of a
- 8:43Speaker 1: Holiday roadhouse romance Good Morning Christmas, plus the upcoming Inventing
- 8:47Speaker 1: the Christmas Prinz. Homie is working his bedob I'm busy.
- 8:54Speaker 1: That's what fun job. Get it, Paul. Yeah. Mom. In
- 8:57Speaker 1: this movie, Aina Holden is played by Francis Clanning, and
- 9:00Speaker 1: she's been in dons of Hallmark movies herself. If I
- 9:03Speaker 1: only had Christmas time for you to come home for Christmas,
- 9:05Speaker 1: delivery by Christmas right in front of me. I mean
- 9:07Speaker 1: she just plays lots of moms. Yeah, sixty acting credits,
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah a lot. I would love to be like, Hey,
- 9:13Speaker 1: will you just be this reoccurring mom, show up, say
- 9:16Speaker 1: a couple of lines, encourage your daughters. What a great
- 9:20Speaker 1: you got this lady retirement job. I believe in you.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Let's start taking some acting classes so we're gonna set
- 9:25Speaker 1: ourself up for retirement later. I'm pretty sure that's how
- 9:29Speaker 1: it works. Started forty three and the dailin from there,
- 9:36Speaker 1: I would move to Toronto or Vancouver. We could just
- 9:39Speaker 1: like make movies there. Would your husband be interested in
- 9:43Speaker 1: moving to Canada? Is very green? Yes, let's do it.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Small town outside of Vancouver. Hit us with your ideas, totally.
- 9:49Speaker 1: That's all I got. Vancouver, British Columbia in the summer,
- 9:53Speaker 1: which means all that snow is vague. Yeah, shocker, there's
- 9:56Speaker 1: so much of it though, I don't even remember walking
- 9:59Speaker 1: through the woods. Oh yeah, do you think it was
- 10:01Speaker 1: like post production photoshop? Maybe there's lots of snow. And
- 10:08Speaker 1: of course we know Andrew Walker will also start in
- 10:11Speaker 1: The Three Wise Men of Christmas outright very soon. What
- 10:15Speaker 1: is your first impression of a Maple Valley Christmas? I'm
- 10:18Speaker 1: glad this isn't Andrew Walker's only movie this season. This
- 10:23Speaker 1: movie is as sleepy as this Town. God, it was
- 10:25Speaker 1: so boring, right, so sorry. I hate having to do
- 10:30Speaker 1: this too, and I really wanted to watch it. I
- 10:34Speaker 1: was excited for it. Of course. When we planned on
- 10:37Speaker 1: our schedule of movies to review, we went down the
- 10:40Speaker 1: list and we both tried to pick a variety of
- 10:44Speaker 1: movies and movies that we were excited to see based
- 10:46Speaker 1: on their stars, and we knew we were going to
- 10:49Speaker 1: review both Andrew Walker movies. I will say that I'm
- 10:52Speaker 1: glad we hadded a third bonus review to our lineup
- 10:55Speaker 1: this week. Stay tuned for that tomorrow, y'all, because I
- 10:59Speaker 1: think that's what's going to say. I think it's the
- 11:01Speaker 1: highlight of this week. So I agree. I know, I
- 11:05Speaker 1: don't want to come and trash these movies, like I
- 11:08Speaker 1: said last week, Like I know, there's a lot of
- 11:10Speaker 1: money that goes into it and hard work and heart
- 11:12Speaker 1: and whatever, but this was not it. Well, this is
- 11:18Speaker 1: what I'll say about this movie. Okay, I think this
- 11:22Speaker 1: is a kind of a classic Hallmark movie. Okay, old
- 11:25Speaker 1: school Hallmark. Oh tell me more. We mild conflict, easy
- 11:30Speaker 1: to have on in the background. The dialogue's not snappy.
- 11:34Speaker 1: You're not going to miss anything if you go change
- 11:36Speaker 1: a load to laundry. This is kind of like the
- 11:40Speaker 1: the baseline of what people expect from Hallmark. I didn't
- 11:44Speaker 1: think this was a bad movie. I didn't think it
- 11:47Speaker 1: was bad either. There are movies this year that I
- 11:50Speaker 1: have disliked more. Oh, I really liked, such as a
- 11:54Speaker 1: magical Christmas filance. Okay, but listen to Yesterdays with you, guys.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I don't think this was a standout okay for the season.
- 12:03Speaker 1: All right, all right, all right, do we like anything?
- 12:07Speaker 1: Andrew Walker is nice to look got sure, that's how
- 12:11Speaker 1: I got Okay, here's what I like. Fake Maple Valley,
- 12:13Speaker 1: Montana was very pretty to look at. I like a
- 12:15Speaker 1: horse movie. I liked the horses so that they visually
- 12:19Speaker 1: made it different. It was fun to see the riding horses.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Enjoyed that. I loved the early kiss, Like right office,
- 12:24Speaker 1: she just goes for it. She's like, I'm feeling it.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Let's more adults. That was weird, honestly, like the passion
- 12:32Speaker 1: of that moment followed through the rest of the movie
- 12:34Speaker 1: because then she's just annoyed with them through the rest
- 12:36Speaker 1: of the movie. And I like that. The majority of
- 12:37Speaker 1: the drama in this movie lies within the family relationship
- 12:40Speaker 1: and not on this new romantic relationship. Fair but there
- 12:44Speaker 1: was some drama between those two, yes, there certainly was. However,
- 12:50Speaker 1: it is balanced enough by the drama with the sister,
- 12:53Speaker 1: the drama with what do you mean you have this
- 12:55Speaker 1: new relationship? Mom? What are you talking about? Yeah? All
- 12:58Speaker 1: of that, Okay, what did you wish for? Well, it's
- 13:01Speaker 1: my wishes are kind of weird. They're kind of complaining. Okay,
- 13:04Speaker 1: go for it, right, I'm here for it. First of all,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I think this movie kind of wanted to be a
- 13:09Speaker 1: countdown to Christmas movie because I had all, like the
- 13:11Speaker 1: Christmas festivities, like the cookie baking and the fudge making
- 13:16Speaker 1: and the caramel making and where he burns his hand
- 13:19Speaker 1: and all that stuff, right, But I think there was
- 13:23Speaker 1: like too much drama to be like on radial Homework channel,
- 13:27Speaker 1: this is the movie's a mysteries movie. It was a
- 13:30Speaker 1: hmm yeah, yeah. I didn't care for Erica and her
- 13:34Speaker 1: plans to own the land again, you know, regaining the
- 13:37Speaker 1: land that they once had to sell. I just she
- 13:40Speaker 1: was a likable from start to finish. She was rude
- 13:44Speaker 1: to her sister, rude to her mom, rude to her
- 13:46Speaker 1: mom's boyfriend, rude to Erin. I didn't like Erica's character,
- 13:51Speaker 1: real stuck in her ways. This is the way it's
- 13:53Speaker 1: going to be, and if you do not want it
- 13:55Speaker 1: the way that I wanted, not going to get along.
- 13:57Speaker 1: When she came in and they were like decorating the
- 13:59Speaker 1: Christmas she was like, what he did? I ride ahead
- 14:02Speaker 1: a tree? I was like, chill woman, This dude wants
- 14:05Speaker 1: to make you dinner and you're like, no, no, no,
- 14:07Speaker 1: that's not what we eat on Christmas. I gotta be maple. God,
- 14:12Speaker 1: was it, Mabel? She wanted maple something? I know. He
- 14:16Speaker 1: was like, how about some maple clay salmon, and she
- 14:18Speaker 1: was like, no, what I know because he was like,
- 14:21Speaker 1: I'm Italian. We did like seven fishes dinner or whatever,
- 14:24Speaker 1: and I was like, that's sweet. I walked out of
- 14:25Speaker 1: the room. I remember it, and then I walked back in.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I don't remember. More food is great. He doesn't want
- 14:30Speaker 1: more food great, I know, and somebody else is gonna
- 14:32Speaker 1: make it fantastic. She just wants a big old stick
- 14:36Speaker 1: in the mud. I wish that they could understand how
- 14:39Speaker 1: they make their money, because when she talks about wanting
- 14:42Speaker 1: to expand onto the land, yes, yes, she goes, oh,
- 14:45Speaker 1: we can expand into retail stores. You're not in You
- 14:49Speaker 1: only sell things at your little gift shop, and that
- 14:52Speaker 1: is supporting this family. I think they do tours too. Okay,
- 14:55Speaker 1: remember at the beginning and they were she was doing
- 14:57Speaker 1: a tour, and then that's how he was like, oh
- 14:59Speaker 1: I came here as or that those are during the
- 15:01Speaker 1: holidays she's like, you know, we she made that joke
- 15:04Speaker 1: about like sat it through the toirly toily gum drums. Yes,
- 15:08Speaker 1: I did visit a reindeer farm during the summer, so
- 15:11Speaker 1: not just during the holidays. Okay. She gave me the
- 15:14Speaker 1: impression that all of these things happened. She's like, Oh,
- 15:17Speaker 1: we do this to make money, this to make money.
- 15:18Speaker 1: It seemed to me it all happened in this condensed
- 15:20Speaker 1: one month period around the holidays. So perhaps they are
- 15:23Speaker 1: doing tours year round, but they made it seem like, Oh,
- 15:28Speaker 1: we're just selling all of our maple products in our
- 15:31Speaker 1: little retail store that's out in the middle of nowhere,
- 15:34Speaker 1: So how are you supporting yourself? Yeah? I felt like
- 15:37Speaker 1: this sister was a good balance because because Erica wanted
- 15:40Speaker 1: to like buy the land to make more products, right,
- 15:45Speaker 1: but then the sister wanted to get into retail. Does
- 15:51Speaker 1: this sound right? Well, I don't remember what the sister
- 15:53Speaker 1: wanted to do, because she was like, ooh, buy the land.
- 15:55Speaker 1: It's thirty to forty years before we can actually get
- 15:57Speaker 1: maple from it. And I was like what because they
- 16:00Speaker 1: got to grow the trees. Wait, yes, you are right now.
- 16:05Speaker 1: If I recall they owned the land before, right, I
- 16:08Speaker 1: had to sell it for the money to a man
- 16:11Speaker 1: who then sold Christmas trees off of it. Maple come
- 16:14Speaker 1: from not pine trees, No, Sure, he raised their maple
- 16:20Speaker 1: trees and planted pine trees that he then sold every year.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Becuse I don't care about the trees or the maple
- 16:25Speaker 1: or anything about this. Really. What I wish for is
- 16:29Speaker 1: that I had more to say about this movie. It
- 16:32Speaker 1: was slow, very little action, very little movement. Yeah, I
- 16:37Speaker 1: agree that Erica's character was unlikable. I do kind of
- 16:43Speaker 1: like Peyton List. However, I think she's a nice counterbalance
- 16:49Speaker 1: to some of the other ladies of Hallmark, who I
- 16:52Speaker 1: enjoy very much, but are very like bubbly and a
- 16:55Speaker 1: few and that's their personality, and I think there's a
- 16:58Speaker 1: place on the Channel for she's just a little more serious.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I agree. I agree with you. Her character a different role.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Let's see you're in a different role. Yeah, her character was, like,
- 17:11Speaker 1: you know, she had just kind of been disappointed by life,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I think, and she didn't really trust anybody and she
- 17:15Speaker 1: finally has this chance to do this thing, and everybody
- 17:18Speaker 1: seems to be getting in her way, and she's frustrated.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I can kind of be like that. I kind of
- 17:22Speaker 1: think that she would fit into like a Hallmark Movies
- 17:26Speaker 1: and mysteries series where they're like investigating something or she's
- 17:32Speaker 1: like the tough detective exactly exactly. Okay, Like, look, I'm
- 17:38Speaker 1: not shitting on her, like she is who she is.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I just did not like the character. Agree, agree, I
- 17:45Speaker 1: have one more wish for Aaron's dad was a real jerk,
- 17:48Speaker 1: like totally. The story about the fire truck actually almost
- 17:52Speaker 1: made me tear up because Aaron says, like I found
- 17:56Speaker 1: our toy and I had a note on it and
- 17:57Speaker 1: said take the batteries out. This is driving me crazy,
- 18:00Speaker 1: or tell Aaron that this is broken. You're looking at
- 18:04Speaker 1: me like you don't remember that. I don't remember that part.
- 18:07Speaker 1: But anyway, he's a real jerk, like it just but
- 18:10Speaker 1: then he gives him the toy back, right, like the
- 18:13Speaker 1: dad gives him the toy sort of like weird sentiment
- 18:16Speaker 1: like I'm sorry I was the big Yeah, but just
- 18:20Speaker 1: it's like I don't care. I don't care about the
- 18:22Speaker 1: dad and Aaron relationship, Like it's something about like taking
- 18:26Speaker 1: over the business or whatever. I just don't care enough. Yeah,
- 18:31Speaker 1: the dad was a jerk, and the dad you know,
- 18:34Speaker 1: oh you're going to ask and how nice for you? Yeah, yeah,
- 18:38Speaker 1: well it's a week before Christmas, dude. Yeah I did.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Like the dad was like closed up by Christmas Eve,
- 18:43Speaker 1: and Aaron's like nobody's working. Everyone's shut down for the holidays.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Finally a Hallmark movie that acknowledges that big business is
- 18:49Speaker 1: not getting done in the week before Christmas because they're
- 18:51Speaker 1: always warting to close this deal by Christmas Eve. No
- 18:53Speaker 1: one's working totally. I used to work for a car
- 18:56Speaker 1: manufacturer and we would be off for two weeks. Yeah,
- 18:59Speaker 1: he would close the week it was like Christmas break,
- 19:01Speaker 1: to be honest, Yes, we were close two weeks. Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 1: that was amazing. One last wish for I didn't like
- 19:07Speaker 1: how hands off the mom was, like I know that.
- 19:10Speaker 1: She was like I'm retiring, peace out, I now have
- 19:13Speaker 1: I'm with this Italian dude or whatever. But she was like,
- 19:17Speaker 1: you girls are the owners now. You guys got to
- 19:19Speaker 1: figure it out, Like she kept like teeing it back
- 19:23Speaker 1: to like she likes that. She was like, I'm leaving.
- 19:26Speaker 1: You need to figure out how to figure this out
- 19:28Speaker 1: among yourself because once I'm not here who are you
- 19:31Speaker 1: gonna ask? Yeah, but you would think like she would
- 19:33Speaker 1: have been in on this business deal, Like they just
- 19:36Speaker 1: came home one night, she's like, I'm retiring. I'm retiring. Yes,
- 19:42Speaker 1: I mean they had said, like you know, she's been
- 19:44Speaker 1: pulling back. She would have known that deal was coming,
- 19:48Speaker 1: the land was going to be up for self. Well,
- 19:50Speaker 1: but what she said was there's no wrong answer here.
- 19:53Speaker 1: And I think she could see both sides of the argument.
- 19:55Speaker 1: You didn't want to take sides. I think so because
- 19:59Speaker 1: she said, look, there's no wrong answer. She wasn't like
- 20:02Speaker 1: one of these things is going to ruin us. So, yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 1: you got to figure it out. You're clearly adults. They
- 20:08Speaker 1: weren't teenagers straight out of college. Your family business, like
- 20:13Speaker 1: your dad has a family business. Can he just can
- 20:15Speaker 1: you imagine he's a delegator man, He wouldn't be like
- 20:19Speaker 1: saying to you and your brother, like you guys, figure
- 20:21Speaker 1: it out. Yeah, he was retired, but he's I mean,
- 20:25Speaker 1: I don't think I'll ever retire. He's like, yeah, I
- 20:27Speaker 1: work like four hours a day because I'm seventy years
- 20:31Speaker 1: old exactly. It's just it's frustrating. Yeah, I hear you.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I hear you? All right? Can we move on to
- 20:38Speaker 1: did you see that? Sure? This is a question. I
- 20:41Speaker 1: have one question and one observation. My question is how
- 20:45Speaker 1: many holiday activities do these people? Particular? They must be exhausted,
- 20:48Speaker 1: Like literally, I was like, wait, are they hosting these
- 20:53Speaker 1: like holiday fairs or whatever? But they're making the cookies
- 20:56Speaker 1: and candies the day before, like I felt like it
- 20:59Speaker 1: was a big production. And then then they had like
- 21:02Speaker 1: a little booth at this like fair. I thought it
- 21:04Speaker 1: was like more than that. So I was like, oh
- 21:06Speaker 1: my god, but you wouldn't use the day before to
- 21:08Speaker 1: do all that stuff? Right? No? And then she's like
- 21:11Speaker 1: nat tonight's or annual camp fire dinner. I'm like, you
- 21:13Speaker 1: guys have been so busy order pizza. I know you
- 21:17Speaker 1: gonna cook your dinner over a fire in the freezing cold. Now?
- 21:20Speaker 1: What'd you think about that scene where they're like making
- 21:24Speaker 1: the maple syrup and Aaron actually sticks his finger into
- 21:28Speaker 1: the like hot boiling kink. Dummy? Yeah, I mean he
- 21:31Speaker 1: does say something like I'm one of those people who
- 21:33Speaker 1: tell me that I can't touch fire. Whatever he said,
- 21:38Speaker 1: they have one other did you see that? Okay? And
- 21:41Speaker 1: then I'll let you go, I only have one. At
- 21:43Speaker 1: one point, Eric and our sister are on the porch
- 21:45Speaker 1: and they're talking and there's a fly on Erica's sleeve
- 21:50Speaker 1: and you're like, you know, just was like, oh my god,
- 21:53Speaker 1: how long is it gonna be there? It's going to
- 21:55Speaker 1: be in the next scene. And it wasn't. But it
- 21:58Speaker 1: just was so And I was like, but to wait
- 22:01Speaker 1: a minute if it was actually cold, because you know,
- 22:04Speaker 1: like flies are abundant in summertime, Oh yeah, there'd be
- 22:07Speaker 1: no flies. Are there no flies in when it's cold out? No?
- 22:10Speaker 1: I don't the flies die, do they? Yeah? I didn't
- 22:13Speaker 1: know that they come back in the summer. Well, I
- 22:15Speaker 1: mean I don't know. Maybe they hibernate, but we don't
- 22:16Speaker 1: have flies in the winter, not in the abundance we
- 22:19Speaker 1: have them in the summer, right, But it was like
- 22:21Speaker 1: on our sleeve. Good point. At one point they're talking.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Aaron's like talking about you know, oh, those lumber jackie
- 22:27Speaker 1: dudes you see tapping the tree, and she's like, well,
- 22:29Speaker 1: we're all women, and he goes, oh, lumber jackies. Then
- 22:33Speaker 1: shouldn't it be like lumber jills. It's gotta be a
- 22:36Speaker 1: better word. Lumber jackies. Who wrote this movie? Juwa, I'm
- 22:42Speaker 1: not bagging, but I am. Okay. Are you ready to
- 22:45Speaker 1: rate this? Not? Really? No? And I got one. I
- 22:48Speaker 1: got went to two point five stars. I get it
- 22:52Speaker 1: one star. Stop it. It is not a one star movie.
- 22:56Speaker 1: That's mean. Andrew Walker alone should be two. No, he
- 23:00Speaker 1: gets the one star. I don't like anybody else. I
- 23:05Speaker 1: didn't like the story. I like the setting, but I'm
- 23:08Speaker 1: not gonna give it a star for the setting. I'm sorry, guys,
- 23:11Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I liked this more than a magical Christmas village.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Oh I didn't. I thought this was so boring. Well,
- 23:18Speaker 1: this is a busy week on Girl's Gone Homewark. Yesterday
