- 1:25Speaker 1: we take a dive into the radio archives of the
- 1:27Speaker 1: Phil Henry Show. You know, for sixteen years, seventeen years,
- 1:30Speaker 1: eighteen years, we did a very unique talk show across America.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We did a show whereby I played the I played
- 1:35Speaker 1: the part not only of myself, but a different guest
- 1:37Speaker 1: that I would interview, and the people that called the
- 1:39Speaker 1: show thought they were real people and interacted with them,
- 1:42Speaker 1: and it made for some pretty funny moments, and we
- 1:45Speaker 1: want to share those with you. We do an hour
- 1:47Speaker 1: of our archive every day so you can get an
- 1:49Speaker 1: idea of what it is we have in our radio archives.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And this is one from the month of June two
- 1:54Speaker 1: thousand and two. I believe Robert Green, before he was
- 1:58Speaker 1: owner the owner of Fraser Food, was a CEO at
- 2:01Speaker 1: some company that'd run into the ground. And it was
- 2:03Speaker 1: during a World com And I don't know why I'm laughing,
- 2:05Speaker 1: but he was threatening to blow his brains out all
- 2:07Speaker 1: over some kind of a degaue painting that he had
- 2:10Speaker 1: that would devalue it if he did. In other words,
- 2:13Speaker 1: don't feel sorry for the workers, feel sorry for him
- 2:15Speaker 1: because he was rich. Let's listen to this.
- 2:33Speaker 3: This is the Phil Henry Show. I get a little
- 2:36Speaker 3: bit of a laugh.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Go to the WORLDCLM website and take a look at
- 2:39Speaker 1: the press release that they have hosted on their website
- 2:42Speaker 1: for today. And one of the I shouldn't say a laugh,
- 2:45Speaker 1: because I'm sure that the man feels this way. The
- 2:47Speaker 1: CEO of the company is a guy named James Sigemore.
- 2:51Speaker 1: He took the job in late April two thousand and two,
- 2:54Speaker 1: so a lot like Robert Neeler. I don't know whether
- 2:56Speaker 1: you can hang this on him because he's sort of
- 2:59Speaker 1: late to the game. The quote is, I want to
- 3:00Speaker 1: assure our customers and employees that the company remains viable
- 3:03Speaker 1: and committed to a long term future. This in the
- 3:06Speaker 1: face of reports that it's sliding into bankruptcy, that there
- 3:09Speaker 1: will be charges against the company for fraud that SEC
- 3:14Speaker 1: has I believe the SEC has petitioned the court to
- 3:18Speaker 1: ensure that no documents get destroyed. I mean, this is
- 3:21Speaker 1: a company that isn't in any shape at all or
- 3:23Speaker 1: any position to say anything about its future.
- 3:26Speaker 3: It doesn't seem we're going to bring on right now.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Robert Green, he's the former CEO of a company called
- 3:31Speaker 1: Nexus Internet Industrial, I should say, And they went through
- 3:34Speaker 1: much the same thing back in the late nineteen eighties,
- 3:39Speaker 1: and that was a problem with books. I know that
- 3:42Speaker 1: your company filed that chapter eleven. Mister Green, your comptroller
- 3:47Speaker 1: was arrested, Your CFO was arrested.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Basically, they unplugged the shredders.
- 3:51Speaker 1: And mister Green has written a rather interesting book called
- 3:54Speaker 1: you Can't Take It with You Tales from the other
- 3:56Speaker 1: side of Corporate America. We have them on the show
- 3:58Speaker 1: to sort of shed some light, if you'll part, and
- 4:00Speaker 1: the expression shed mister green.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Well, I can tell you that that's a word that's
- 4:06Speaker 2: going to be popped to get it out of people's
- 4:07Speaker 2: minds a lot.
- 4:08Speaker 1: But just to shed some light on the nightmare that
- 4:10Speaker 1: is the current scandals on Wall Street.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Well, Phil, as of today, four billion dollar row Comm
- 4:16Speaker 2: scandal is erupted, and we need to restore faith. Obviously,
- 4:20Speaker 2: the American Investor and seventeen thousand people are going to
- 4:24Speaker 2: be out of work on Fridays, that's right.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I understand that one of the cost cutting measures is
- 4:28Speaker 1: to take seventeen thousand people in general just put them
- 4:30Speaker 1: on the street this coming Friday.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Right, But I want to go through this a little
- 4:36Speaker 2: bit with you. I know what they did. They inflated
- 4:38Speaker 2: their profits. They lied about the money they were making.
- 4:41Speaker 2: We did the same thing in the late nineteen eighties.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It was aheady time in the late nineteen eighties. But
- 4:47Speaker 2: let me just let me just turn this around a
- 4:49Speaker 2: little bit for you and for your listeners. It's a
- 4:51Speaker 2: funny thing about life. You get a wife that wants more,
- 4:55Speaker 2: you have children that want more. You know I was
- 4:57Speaker 2: in that position.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Well, you knew that your company would over reporting profits.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Correct late in the game, I did know that, right you, and.
- 5:05Speaker 1: You knew that your company was essentially cheating stockholders. You
- 5:08Speaker 1: yourself fired. I'm looking at the press release that you
- 5:12Speaker 1: let thirty five hundred employees go in March of nineteen
- 5:15Speaker 1: eighty nine.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Isn't that right?
- 5:16Speaker 2: What I did was wrong, and I'm sorry to have
- 5:19Speaker 2: what happened to those workers. But I want you to
- 5:21Speaker 2: picture something, and you can hear the phone that I'm
- 5:23Speaker 2: on right now. This is a cordless phone that I
- 5:26Speaker 2: picked up at a I don't know where it was,
- 5:29Speaker 2: a circuit city. It is a It's not the kind
- 5:31Speaker 2: of telephone that a Robert Green would have used five, six, seven,
- 5:35Speaker 2: ten years ago. It's not the kind of telephone that
- 5:37Speaker 2: I had in my offices. Today I find myself.
- 5:41Speaker 3: With very little, and that is a bad telephone.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna paint a picture for you. I came
- 5:47Speaker 2: out of Indiana State with an MBA and I desire
- 5:50Speaker 2: to improve myself. I started Nexus International. At one time
- 5:54Speaker 2: we had a United States government contract. I met a
- 5:58Speaker 2: woman of my wife. I met her in Atlantic City.
- 6:01Speaker 2: She was working one of the buffets there at a hotel.
- 6:05Speaker 2: She was in a couple of shows and I would
- 6:08Speaker 2: say this with great respect. She was put together.
- 6:11Speaker 3: You were attracted to her.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I was attracted to her. I married her, We had
- 6:14Speaker 2: three kids, we made more money. And here's what happens.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And this is what happens to the guys at World Common.
- 6:20Speaker 2: This is probably what happened to the guys at n Run.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Suddenly now she wants more. A Mercedes isn't enough because
- 6:26Speaker 2: there's a guy at the office for the rolls. A
- 6:28Speaker 2: four carrot ring isn't enough because she wants a five
- 6:31Speaker 2: or six carrot. The kids want, they want to go
- 6:34Speaker 2: to a private school, you see.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And so mister Green, if I got to interrupt you, okay,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and can I call you Robert, call me Bobb if
- 6:41Speaker 1: you'd like.
- 6:41Speaker 3: All right, Bob, this is all about your life.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I want to get into the particulars of the manipulation of.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Books, the cooking of books.
- 6:50Speaker 2: No, but I'm telling you this is really the heart
- 6:52Speaker 2: and soul of what happened at World Common. You get
- 6:55Speaker 2: kids that want to go to a private school. You've
- 6:57Speaker 2: got a five thousand square foot home. Now it's got
- 6:59Speaker 2: to be man. Now it's got to be fourteen. You
- 7:02Speaker 2: got a summer home, you got an apartment, in New York.
- 7:04Speaker 2: And you get to the point where you pull yourself
- 7:06Speaker 2: through your door at night and you want to put
- 7:08Speaker 2: your fingers in your ear because here she goes again.
- 7:13Speaker 2: You see what I'm saying it And in.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Other words, she's making demands. The family's making demands.
- 7:17Speaker 2: That is correct. Hi today, Phil, in the year two
- 7:21Speaker 2: thousand and two, I've got health problems. I have a
- 7:23Speaker 2: duogonal ulcer. I've got psiatica which hurts. Like I said,
- 7:28Speaker 2: of a bit. If you'll pardon my language, ask my
- 7:32Speaker 2: wife if she cares. No, she doesn't care. She cares
- 7:35Speaker 2: if a pool, if the pool house is built. So
- 7:39Speaker 2: while you want to crucify the guys.
- 7:41Speaker 3: At the top, well wait a minute.
- 7:42Speaker 1: We're talking about World Colm with Robert Green, a former
- 7:44Speaker 1: CEO of a company that went through similar problems.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Your company is gone, now right, I've got nothing.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Now my company has gone. I'm on a book tour.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I got a wife, and again I still got the
- 7:56Speaker 2: same wife and she still wants more.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Are you you telling me that World Time, that Enron,
- 8:00Speaker 1: that Adelphia, the Tycho, that all of these companies went
- 8:04Speaker 1: belly up because they're CEOs that had wives and kids
- 8:07Speaker 1: that wanted more.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I am saying to you something that I'm hoping your
- 8:12Speaker 2: listeners can appreciate.
- 8:13Speaker 1: What about the seventeen thousand guys that are on the
- 8:15Speaker 1: street this coming Friday? What about the thirty five hundred
- 8:18Speaker 1: people that you put on the street in nineteen eighty
- 8:20Speaker 1: nine till that is.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Typical of the American public. They always want to look
- 8:25Speaker 2: at the workers, the line workers. These are good people,
- 8:30Speaker 2: But the fact is they're a little bit like gypsies,
- 8:32Speaker 2: don't They don't have any all right?
- 8:34Speaker 3: Well, see now that to me is an insult.
- 8:37Speaker 1: What is to call these seventeen thousand people will be
- 8:40Speaker 1: on the street on Friday because of some guy cooking
- 8:42Speaker 1: the books because you're telling me that his wife wanted
- 8:46Speaker 1: a bigger diamond ring.
- 8:48Speaker 2: When I reluctantly let thirty five hundred people go back
- 8:52Speaker 2: in nineteen eighty nine, I found out that these people
- 8:55Speaker 2: could go across the street and get another job. Do
- 8:57Speaker 2: you think any of them want to have a cup
- 8:59Speaker 2: of coffee with me? Now? Do you think that there's loyalty?
- 9:02Speaker 3: Now you fired them?
- 9:04Speaker 2: No? But I had no choice. I had a business.
- 9:06Speaker 2: There was no longer mine. It was an animal. I
- 9:07Speaker 2: was trying to control. It isn't me. It was Tom Perika,
- 9:10Speaker 2: who was our business manager. It was Mary and Compton,
- 9:13Speaker 2: who is our internal accomptant. They had their hands in
- 9:16Speaker 2: my pockets and.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Correct me if I am wrong.
- 9:19Speaker 1: You seem to be putting the focus on the pain
- 9:21Speaker 1: that's being felt by the guys at the top.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Look, once the hive is like bees. Once the hive
- 9:28Speaker 2: is finished on a tree, the bees go onto the
- 9:30Speaker 2: next without turning back. What happens to me? What happens
- 9:34Speaker 2: to the guys at n run. I'm gonna tell you
- 9:35Speaker 2: a little story, philm No.
- 9:36Speaker 3: But but you're putting the focus on the pain that
- 9:39Speaker 3: because there.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Is real pain at the top. Because the guy who
- 9:43Speaker 2: gets fired on Friday, that line worker, that assembly guy,
- 9:46Speaker 2: he goes over to at and g he's gonna go
- 9:48Speaker 2: over the verizon, he's gonna go over to pack bell.
- 9:51Speaker 2: He'll do what he has to do. What happens to me?
- 9:53Speaker 2: Let me tell you what happened to me the day
- 9:55Speaker 2: I got the word that this man and I just
- 10:00Speaker 2: the guy's name makes me one of vomit. This guy Sullivan,
- 10:05Speaker 2: who was cooking our books. I went into my office,
- 10:10Speaker 2: I closed the door, I took a bottle of brandy
- 10:13Speaker 2: out of the desk. I poured myself a drink, and
- 10:17Speaker 2: I pulled out of a leather valise that I had
- 10:20Speaker 2: in a in a filing cabinet behind me. And I
- 10:23Speaker 2: pulled out of that leather valise a Ruger red hot.
- 10:27Speaker 2: That's a four point fifty four.
- 10:29Speaker 3: That's a firearm.
- 10:30Speaker 2: That's a gun, Yes, sir, it is. I put the
- 10:33Speaker 2: gun on my desk. I called my wife, and of
- 10:37Speaker 2: course the first thing I'm hearing from her is, I'll
- 10:40Speaker 2: never forget it. Did you change the reservations from Mexico
- 10:44Speaker 2: and all of this? And I just tided the phone
- 10:45Speaker 2: up on her, and I thought about putting the barrel
- 10:49Speaker 2: of that to my head. And I'll tell you one
- 10:52Speaker 2: of the things you want to hear a funny story.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I've got a GOP print in my office that was
- 10:57Speaker 2: right behind my desk, And as crazy as this sound,
- 11:00Speaker 2: I thought, if I blow my brains out, half of
- 11:02Speaker 2: them are going to go all over a print that's
- 11:04Speaker 2: worth about eight thousand dollars. And I said, no, I'm
- 11:07Speaker 2: not going to do it. I'm not giving her the satisfaction,
- 11:10Speaker 2: and I'm not giving those kids the satisfaction. So I
- 11:13Speaker 2: pressed on, and I don't doubt that that's going on
- 11:16Speaker 2: at WORLDCLM right now. You've got a lot of guys
- 11:18Speaker 2: and a lot of offices, and nobody hears them. We
- 11:22Speaker 2: no one hears the screams coming from those offices, the
- 11:25Speaker 2: screams of agony, and nobody rushes into those offices to
- 11:30Speaker 2: make sure that they don't have a luger, a ruger,
- 11:32Speaker 2: a block, a nine milimeter, a red Hawk, anything sitting
- 11:36Speaker 2: on that desk waiting for them to pull the trigger
- 11:40Speaker 2: and send their brains right out onto the street.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Now for me, all right, I don't want to interrupt you,
- 11:47Speaker 1: but you're telling me that is the siren.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Pain that goes on in these CEOs lives at an
- 11:51Speaker 2: epidemic level. And you want me to sit here and
- 11:54Speaker 2: start feeling bad about sixteen thousand guys are going to
- 11:57Speaker 2: hit the bricks and go across the street the Verizon
- 11:59Speaker 2: on Monday. I'm sorry, I can't do that.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So, in other words, what's happened at WorldCom the real
- 12:05Speaker 1: tragedy is the CEOs that are you.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Got you've got a controller and you've got a CFO
- 12:09Speaker 2: that are on the street. Those guys are probably going
- 12:11Speaker 2: to be the jail cell if they don't pick up
- 12:14Speaker 2: an anything a small caliber.
- 12:17Speaker 3: All right, Well, let's forget about whether they're going to
- 12:18Speaker 3: blow their brains out.
- 12:19Speaker 2: But it's a high possibility.
- 12:22Speaker 3: All right.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I'm talking to Robert Green, who is telling us a
- 12:25Speaker 1: story of how he contemplated suicide the day he found
- 12:29Speaker 1: out that the books at his company had been cooked.
- 12:32Speaker 1: And we are, of course talking about WORLDCLM. But you
- 12:35Speaker 1: keep going back to the to the to the four CEOs.
- 12:38Speaker 1: But the workers, the guys are going to be on
- 12:40Speaker 1: the street.
- 12:40Speaker 2: There you go again.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, but we.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Well you're doing it again. You're going back to these
- 12:44Speaker 2: seventeen thousand guys. What about them?
- 12:47Speaker 3: Seventeen thousand people will be on the street.
- 12:50Speaker 2: I'm well, I almost put what's left by brains all
- 12:53Speaker 2: over at eight thousand dollars to god, You understand what
- 12:58Speaker 2: I'm saying. I shot myself, all right.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Robert Green, former CEO of a company that went belly
- 13:05Speaker 1: up back in the eighties because of cooking the books.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I don't know if you know what happened at WorldCom.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Today, but they have reported that they cooked up about
- 13:14Speaker 1: four billion dollars worth of profits that just simply don't exist.
- 13:17Speaker 1: They actually actually lost money last year and in the
- 13:20Speaker 1: first quarter of this year, they're in deep, deep trouble.
- 13:23Speaker 1: The people that I care about are the seventeen thousand
- 13:26Speaker 1: men and women that will be hitting the bricks on
- 13:27Speaker 1: Friday as a result of quote cost cutting to help
- 13:30Speaker 1: save the company. But I'm hearing mister Green here talking
- 13:32Speaker 1: about him putting his brains on a print he bought
- 13:37Speaker 1: in Spain with his wife. Phil Henry Show, Phil Henry Shall,
- 13:57Speaker 1: Robert Green with me whose company went through much? What
- 13:59Speaker 1: Werem's going through? You gotta do you have a distaste
- 14:02Speaker 1: for workers?
- 14:03Speaker 2: No? I do, not, mystery dream. Please don't characterize it
- 14:05Speaker 2: that way.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Well, we're talking about seventeen thousand guys that might hit
- 14:09Speaker 1: the bricks on Friday, and you're talking about the time
- 14:13Speaker 1: you almost blew your brains out.
- 14:14Speaker 2: You know something, I happen to be an individual who
- 14:18Speaker 2: creates jobs. I'm a guy who goes and creates a business.
- 14:22Speaker 2: And then I got people hanging all over me wanting work.
- 14:24Speaker 2: They want to get promotions, they want this, and they
- 14:26Speaker 2: want that. And then some guy cooks the books on me,
- 14:30Speaker 2: and I'm alone in the office with my red Hawk
- 14:32Speaker 2: four fifty four. Did anybody come in and try to
- 14:34Speaker 2: take the gun away from me? No, that's what I'm saying.
- 14:37Speaker 2: That's what's going on at WorldCom right now. The CEO
- 14:41Speaker 2: of that company.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Whatever his name, John sigmart mister Sigmore.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Let me tell you something. They fight him tomorrow morning
- 14:48Speaker 2: with a barrel of a magnum in his mouth and
- 14:51Speaker 2: the back of his head missing. What are you gonna take? Then?
- 14:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna think that the guy went through some pretty
- 14:57Speaker 1: tough times, and I'm gonna think that the man was
- 14:58Speaker 1: a victim of circumstance. So I'm going to think it
- 15:00Speaker 1: was a tragedy. But I'm also going to be mindful
- 15:03Speaker 1: of the many, many of us. Uh Oh, come on, no, no, no,
- 15:07Speaker 1: I'm going to be mindful of the many, many of
- 15:08Speaker 1: us who still have to work and press on and
- 15:11Speaker 1: help this country grow.
- 15:13Speaker 2: That's not a lot of storybooks stuff, No, sir, I
- 15:15Speaker 2: don't think it is.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Here's art, go ahead, art.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Uh yeah. Basically, you know, the seventeen thousand folks getting
- 15:21Speaker 2: laid off, they're not getting golden parachutes, a couple million
- 15:23Speaker 2: dollars and pops to make the transitional little golden para.
- 15:26Speaker 2: The guy's been arrested. What do you think, golden? Now, hey, guys,
- 15:30Speaker 2: you can't do the time, don't do the crime. That's

- 17:32Speaker 6: in your mouth, and do you stop?
- 17:34Speaker 2: You don't want me to kill? Why don't all those

- 18:22Speaker 2: All right, so a publisher's playing.
- 18:24Speaker 4: They're not putting me up at the ridge, but you're
- 18:27Speaker 4: hurting so much.
- 18:28Speaker 5: I am so much pity of you right now. I'll
- 18:30Speaker 5: tell you, I'm just.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Crying, crying cry.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna ask you and I look at the third question,
- 18:35Speaker 2: if dreams switchboard the CEO of world come they find
- 18:39Speaker 2: him tomorrow. Okay, all Ron, just like you are.
- 18:42Speaker 5: Okay, you near the pullouse is costing something. You near
- 18:45Speaker 5: the diamond ring with cocking something you knew, the departure
- 18:48Speaker 5: with coffee. Something you didn't think that was coming out
- 18:50Speaker 5: of the now to the people that you should have
- 18:51Speaker 5: been giving, raise and stiff.
- 18:53Speaker 6: And pass on the back.
- 18:55Speaker 5: Don't don't even patronize me with drag rants. All right,
- 18:58Speaker 5: you are your head fan, an ignorant man, and that
- 19:01Speaker 5: is why your company went out under. You are ignorant,
- 19:04Speaker 5: all right. I had not want I.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Don't want you to feel that way. But you don't
- 19:08Speaker 2: understand how business is done.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Already had energing restaurants and businesses all my life.
- 19:14Speaker 6: Yes, I know how it's done.
- 19:15Speaker 2: The three people are from Listen to the people.
- 19:19Speaker 5: On the bottom, So shot man, poor trigger.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Okay, won't let me listen to the phone I'm on,
- 19:25Speaker 2: mister Hendry's what I'm saying.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Okay, you're on a book tour and.
- 19:28Speaker 2: You're the garbage pit time life cell phone. I got
- 19:34Speaker 2: because I got nothing, And the reason why I got
- 19:37Speaker 2: nothing is I trusted Jack Hembrey, who is the CFO
- 19:41Speaker 2: of my company who is a line dog and is
- 19:45Speaker 2: doing time right now for what he did.
- 19:47Speaker 3: And did you or did you not know what was
- 19:50Speaker 3: going on with the books at your company?
- 19:54Speaker 2: Okay? Well why woman?
- 19:55Speaker 3: Answer that with a simple yes or no would be nice.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It's more than that. Did I know? Do you? Does
- 20:01Speaker 2: any of us? Do you know? If God exists?
- 20:04Speaker 3: Mister Green, I'm not going to have you patronize me.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Did you know that?
- 20:08Speaker 2: Sir? I'm not kind of patronized you, all right?
- 20:09Speaker 1: Did you know that the books were getting cooked at
- 20:11Speaker 1: your company and that you'd have to put thirty five
- 20:13Speaker 1: hundred guys on the street.
- 20:17Speaker 2: I don't think it's a fair question. I'm not going
- 20:18Speaker 2: to dignify it with an.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Answer that's not a question that causing it, that's what.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Do you even dignify it with an I'm asking for
- 20:24Speaker 1: the truth.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I knew this guy was my brother in law number one. Okay,
- 20:30Speaker 2: that's that's the big problem. You get into my wife's
- 20:33Speaker 2: working a shellfish buffet and the next thing I know,
- 20:35Speaker 2: I'm bringing in this father in law of hers that
- 20:38Speaker 2: was a croupier.
- 20:38Speaker 3: In Atlantic City as your CFO. Yes, and this is
- 20:42Speaker 3: supposed to be somebody else's problem.
- 20:45Speaker 2: She Let me tell you something. If you've seen my wife,
- 20:49Speaker 2: she is put together like you would. Could I just
- 20:51Speaker 2: be honest with you?
- 20:52Speaker 1: Yet I don't care how put together your wife is.
- 20:54Speaker 1: You're hiring her brother in law. You see what I'm saying.
- 20:57Speaker 1: The guy was a croupier in Atlantic City. More bread
- 21:00Speaker 1: being a croupie in Atlantic City than you do anything else.
- 21:03Speaker 1: We're talking with Robert Green, a man whose company went
- 21:05Speaker 1: belly up much the same way WorldCom went belly up.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He had a hand in firing thirty five hundred guys.
- 21:11Speaker 1: On Friday, seventeen thousand will be on the street, and
- 21:14Speaker 1: he says, don't feel for the workers, feel for the
- 21:16Speaker 1: poor CEOs who could kill themselves.
- 21:18Speaker 3: He almost did. And now more on the Phil Henry Show.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Mister Green, I'm gonna keep hitting this. The seventeen thousand guys, Oh,
- 21:35Speaker 1: here we go.
- 21:35Speaker 3: No, just listen.
- 21:36Speaker 1: The seventeen thousand men and women that will be on
- 21:38Speaker 1: the bricks on Friday because of this World comm debacle.
- 21:41Speaker 1: The thirty five hundred employees that you yourself fired in
- 21:44Speaker 1: the March of nineteen eighty nine because somebody.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Cooked the books. What about those people?
- 21:49Speaker 2: Let me tell you about the seventeen thousand that you
- 21:51Speaker 2: want to bleed the crocodile tears for these people go off,
- 21:54Speaker 2: they get off the job at five o'clock, they go
- 21:56Speaker 2: have a beer. They got another job. This is a
- 21:59Speaker 2: small world they live in. We're talking about these workers
- 22:02Speaker 2: don't need the amount of money I need to maintain
- 22:04Speaker 2: a lifestyle that at one time in nineteen ninety one,
- 22:07Speaker 2: I owned a Rolls Royce that had been owned by
- 22:10Speaker 2: John Lennon. Now that is an investment and I don't
- 22:13Speaker 2: have that anymore. And you want me to start feeling
- 22:16Speaker 2: bad about a guy who gets off the assembly line,
- 22:18Speaker 2: goes across the street to some stake and brew sits
- 22:22Speaker 2: down with a couple of buddies and says, what's happened
- 22:24Speaker 2: at Verizon? He's in a truck. He's up on a
- 22:26Speaker 2: line on Monday morning, and a Rolls Royce that John
- 22:31Speaker 2: Lennon owned I had to dump in nineteen ninety one
- 22:34Speaker 2: because of this, because of the brother in law, which
- 22:36Speaker 2: I'm going to go number one on him, And oh,
- 22:40Speaker 2: I think about the things that I lost in my life,
- 22:43Speaker 2: if you can hear it, and again, here this craft
- 22:45Speaker 2: home that I'm launched.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Why did you get the publishing company that's got you
- 22:48Speaker 1: on the World Book Tour or whatever, mister Henry.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Is a tour of the West coast in the southeast.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Well, get them to buy your cell phone.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, okay, I'll give you a number of breaking
- 22:59Speaker 2: books up. You called you with Reagan and have her,
- 23:02Speaker 2: have her get me a new show for.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Maria. Go ahead, Maria, go ahead, Christian.
- 23:10Speaker 6: Allwear from you is poor me, Poor me, poor me.
- 23:15Speaker 6: I have a crappy sell phone and I pour my
- 23:18Speaker 6: brain down on a fricking eight thousand dollars The guard
- 23:21Speaker 6: painting had to turn in that poor little old Rose
- 23:24Speaker 6: race that John Lennon used to add? What about the
- 23:28Speaker 6: thirty five hundred people you put them on the work
- 23:30Speaker 6: because you say you didn't know what was going.
- 23:33Speaker 2: On the where way? Well apparently you don't hear too good.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I said that they can get off the line and
- 23:37Speaker 2: go ahead to work for Verizon come Monday morning. What
- 23:40Speaker 2: do they care?
- 23:41Speaker 6: Did you ever did you ever hear agm Bisky?
- 23:43Speaker 2: What's up? Man?
- 23:45Speaker 6: Did you ever hear of Ivan Bosky?
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yeah? He was a real schli ball. He got thrown
- 23:49Speaker 2: in the prison in the eighties.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I praise see see how and see us
- 23:55Speaker 6: to excuse me? I used to I pray cfo last
- 23:58Speaker 6: this shot up with Ireland by see he is a
- 24:00Speaker 6: lofty man because he was on list. He was his mistakes.
- 24:06Speaker 6: He started a new company and he ran his house
- 24:09Speaker 6: and employed a lot of people because he couldn't find
- 24:13Speaker 6: a job.
- 24:14Speaker 2: So you know, came Maria Carea. Yeah, I find it
- 24:21Speaker 2: really coincidental that the one guy you worked for for
- 24:24Speaker 2: Ivan Bosk, he just happened to be the honest one.
- 24:27Speaker 6: Yeah, that he did it. I knew what was going
- 24:33Speaker 6: on in those books, and I say he was guilty.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Am I broken?
- 24:37Speaker 6: A honest? There's no ass now I'm saying you're guilty.
- 24:41Speaker 6: I'm guilty saying that was going on in your book.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I knew it was going to my wife brother in
- 24:47Speaker 2: LAWA on you. My wife's brother in law who did
- 24:49Speaker 2: this day I believe was mobbed up. Anyway, she brings
- 24:52Speaker 2: him into my company, What am I supposed to do?
- 24:54Speaker 2: Kick him out? This is a guy, he's got a neck.
- 24:58Speaker 2: He's got a neck like a tree trunk. He hangs
- 25:00Speaker 2: around with guys that are dealing ecstasy.
- 25:02Speaker 3: And if you got this guy in your company. How
- 25:05Speaker 3: could you hire a man like this?
- 25:08Speaker 2: He's deeven crack down here at one of these dance joints.
- 25:11Speaker 3: And he's the CFO.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Yes, sir, everybody is blind. You've branned everybody. You've burned
- 25:18Speaker 6: your life because she wants too much. You branned your
- 25:21Speaker 6: kids because they need too much. You've gotten this brother
- 25:24Speaker 6: of because you have no choice because he's standing with your.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Maria. Please watch your language.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, see this is what I'm talking about. These people,
- 25:33Speaker 2: they come off the line at five o'clock and it's
- 25:35Speaker 2: F this and F that, and you're in F and this.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Seventeen thousand people with nothing but F on their mouths
- 25:41Speaker 2: is going to be out of a job. I almost
- 25:43Speaker 2: blew my brains all over a painting that today could
- 25:47Speaker 2: be worth it excess of one hundred thousand dollars.
- 25:51Speaker 6: He should have burned your brains out.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Oh really? And how much do you think that the
- 25:56Speaker 2: god be worth today? With my brains all over it?
- 25:58Speaker 1: You know what?
- 26:01Speaker 6: Why don't you have to stand that much money on?
- 26:08Speaker 3: Exactly?
- 26:10Speaker 1: Get take that money and reinvest it in people, reinvested
- 26:15Speaker 1: into equipment, but create more jobs with it.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Now, listen to that, and she's screaming at me. And
- 26:21Speaker 2: I got the time life phone. I got a phone
- 26:23Speaker 2: that's shaped like a shoe. Yeah, it doesn't sound like
- 26:30Speaker 2: you've had a very good one either.
- 26:32Speaker 3: All right, all right, listen, Maria, thank you for your calling.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I think it made some very good points.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Robert green who was involved in much the same scandal
- 26:42Speaker 1: that World Com is involved in.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Now, yeah, yeah, this is what I want to say
- 26:45Speaker 2: to Sandry. Go ahead, what part of the show when
- 26:48Speaker 2: when does it happen that you start getting my back
- 26:51Speaker 2: a little bit? I'm sorry, At what point in the
- 26:54Speaker 2: show do you start catching my back and stop with
- 26:57Speaker 2: your Yeah, it was a really nice comment, Maria. Good going, Charlie.
- 27:01Speaker 2: When do you stop doing that?
- 27:03Speaker 3: I don't stop. Mister Greene under stands something. I am here.
- 27:06Speaker 2: You're here to get the truth. Well, then when do
- 27:08Speaker 2: you start catching right backs?
- 27:11Speaker 1: Now you've heard about the uh you you you've mentioned
- 27:13Speaker 1: the rolls Royce to belong to John Lennon.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I own that at one time. Then this TWEETO that
- 27:19Speaker 2: is the brother in law and my wife's brother. This
- 27:22Speaker 2: guy cooks up the books.
- 27:23Speaker 3: They busted me out, Perry, go ahead, you're on a
- 27:28Speaker 3: phil Henry Show.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Hey, you know what, Bud, you are moron. You need
- 27:34Speaker 4: to take a seat back behind that. You've never been
- 27:35Speaker 4: a seat to take a feed back behind that that
- 27:37Speaker 4: that gun and thinking.
- 27:38Speaker 2: About it a little bit. You've ever been to see
- 27:40Speaker 2: the company start? Yes?
- 27:41Speaker 1: I have.
- 27:42Speaker 2: As a matter I doubt it.
- 27:44Speaker 6: Oh okay, well you know what?
- 27:45Speaker 2: There shows your amountment? What was your life? Well?
- 27:47Speaker 4: Tell you what what was your line of what would
- 27:49Speaker 4: have been rank correctly in the first place, the idiot
- 27:51Speaker 4: wouldn't had to cook the books to show a profit.
- 27:53Speaker 4: And obviously you don't know enough about management nor taking
- 27:56Speaker 4: care of people to run a company, so they will
- 27:59Speaker 4: work for.
- 27:59Speaker 3: You and Purdue.
- 28:00Speaker 2: How come nobody ever blames.
- 28:02Speaker 4: I wrote the book because you don't know how to
- 28:05Speaker 4: run it.
- 28:06Speaker 2: You've got all the answers. How come you're not a
- 28:08Speaker 2: CEO anymore? Because I used to do what I like,
- 28:12Speaker 2: not what I have to to make money? I mean,
- 28:14Speaker 2: how come nobody ever blames the workers?
- 28:16Speaker 4: How come nobody ever blames the workers?
- 28:18Speaker 2: Right?
- 28:18Speaker 4: Does the workers do what they're told to do under
- 28:20Speaker 4: the management style? You have no style?
- 28:23Speaker 2: Well, you know what, I don't think you were ever
- 28:25Speaker 2: a CEO either, And if you were you know what
- 28:29Speaker 2: they're always a rush is no longer if you.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Can, if you could think longer than you could hold
- 28:33Speaker 4: your WIENI, then you obviously wouldn't be out of business
- 28:36Speaker 4: right now, would you?
- 28:36Speaker 2: And you know about holding Weenie's house again. I had
- 28:43Speaker 2: to laugh. Well, I got the craft bone.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Can you hang that up or something?
- 28:48Speaker 2: I'm walking closer to the base.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Uh, congratulations mister Green on your book tour. The book
- 28:55Speaker 1: is called I have the name here.

- 29:00Speaker 2: of corporate.
- 29:00Speaker 1: America, right, You can't take it with your tails from
- 29:02Speaker 1: the other side of corporate America. And you talk about
- 29:05Speaker 1: how you lost your job and do you have any
- 29:09Speaker 1: money now? Have you made a comeback?
- 29:10Speaker 2: No? I have not. I haven't made any kind of
- 29:13Speaker 2: a comeback. And by the way, I haven't shold one book,
- 29:16Speaker 2: so thank you for that too.
- 29:18Speaker 3: It's not my fault, sir.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Well there you go.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Just one view of what's going on in America right now.
- 29:26Speaker 1: And that was Robert Green, who said that he sat
- 29:29Speaker 1: there after he found out that the books had been
- 29:30Speaker 1: cooked in his company and almost blew his whole his
- 29:34Speaker 1: brains out. He almost shot himself all over an eight
- 29:37Speaker 1: thousand dollars painting, and he's glad he didn't because how
- 29:40Speaker 1: much would it be worth now with his brains on it?
- 29:43Speaker 1: World Famous Phil Henry Show executive produced by me Phil
