- 1:11Speaker 3: was like, how can I make my life even bigger.
- 1:14Speaker 3: I'm not going to say more stressful, because I actually
- 1:16Speaker 3: love mantra, Like if you've listened to it, if you're
- 1:19Speaker 3: going to listen to it.
- 1:20Speaker 4: So it came out today, right, it's coming.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Out today, which is wild. It's so it's very peaceful,
- 1:27Speaker 3: and that was really I was like, oh, is this
- 1:29Speaker 3: going to be you know, so it's going to be
- 1:31Speaker 3: something else on my plate that I'm going to be
- 1:33Speaker 3: stressed about.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And it's actually just like an outlet.
- 1:35Speaker 3: It's like a little spiritual fun for me to go to.
- 1:37Speaker 3: And like each week you start your Monday with a
- 1:40Speaker 3: new mantra. So it could be I release the need
- 1:42Speaker 3: for external expectations, I cultivate peace within, I exude gratitude
- 1:47Speaker 3: and all circumstances, whatever it is, and that is your
- 1:49Speaker 3: marchra for the week. Monday Morning community, listen to your
- 1:52Speaker 3: mantra and then until yeah, that's it. That's the theme
- 1:56Speaker 3: you're bringing into your week, and we just like discuss it,
- 1:59Speaker 3: like how can you bring it into practice journal exercises
- 2:03Speaker 3: so much more like all this philosophy and wisdom. It's
- 2:05Speaker 3: very different from the psychology, but this is what everyone's
- 2:08Speaker 3: going to do. Mancha and then Basic Bitch Book book.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Basic Club is my podcast, you I mean you can
- 2:23Speaker 2: say that again.
- 2:23Speaker 3: No, I'm not even going to try it. But now
- 2:25Speaker 3: there's four episodes for your Monday exactly.
- 2:28Speaker 2: So we're going to be talking all about how to
- 2:30Speaker 2: build your master plan for twenty twenty five. But before
- 2:33Speaker 2: we get into the episode, we're going to start with
- 2:35Speaker 2: our life lesson of the week.
- 2:36Speaker 1: All right, so I'll kick ourself. What's your life lesson?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Oh?
- 2:39Speaker 4: Okay, My life lesson of the week is a new
- 2:42Speaker 4: hobby that I've picked up that I had been saying
- 2:46Speaker 4: that I wanted to do for ages at the end
- 2:48Speaker 4: of last year, and it is junk journaling.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Finally, how's it going.
- 2:55Speaker 4: It's so much fun. Really, I feel like I haven't
- 2:57Speaker 4: had a creative outlet outside of world in a really
- 3:00Speaker 4: long time, especially one that's like physical where I actually
- 3:03Speaker 4: use my hands and it's not all digital or writing. Yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 4: it's been so much fun.
- 3:08Speaker 3: We need to start collecting junk, Like next thing, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 3: we're going to be in the office and all our
- 3:13Speaker 3: notes are going to go missing, like stickers off our
- 3:16Speaker 3: Apple Like suddenly, our like subway wrapper will not be
- 3:18Speaker 3: in the bin in some way is.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Anyone's in my grocery this?
- 3:22Speaker 3: Yeah, And I was like the corner.
- 3:28Speaker 4: So that's been really fun.
- 3:29Speaker 3: It was Jim Jim Mine is going out sober is
- 3:33Speaker 3: actually fucking con so I'm doing dry January. But I
- 3:37Speaker 3: was like, oh, this is going to be really really
- 3:38Speaker 3: hard going out sober. First hour was really like kind
- 3:42Speaker 3: of suck. So I was like, oh, like, I just
- 3:44Speaker 3: feel like the vibe isn't there. And then everyone else
- 3:46Speaker 3: got really drunk and they got really fun and I
- 3:50Speaker 3: didn't have to get drunk to also have fun and
- 3:52Speaker 3: it was actually so it was great. And I was
- 3:55Speaker 3: the designated driver and I drove all my like friends
- 3:58Speaker 3: home and like Tom and then Steph, like my best
- 4:01Speaker 3: friend and her partner, and it was so funny because
- 4:04Speaker 3: I took them to maccas and they just said the
- 4:06Speaker 3: funniest stuff And I was like, this is a more
- 4:08Speaker 3: valuable memory to me then if I'd like gone out
- 4:12Speaker 3: to like the Imperial and not remembered anything. Literally. Yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 3: it was great. It was so much fun. I would
- 4:18Speaker 3: really invite people to do it. It's a great it's
- 4:22Speaker 3: a great time.
- 4:22Speaker 1: So would you say that getting past the first hour
- 4:24Speaker 1: is the hardest part.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, first hour was I was just like, oh, I
- 4:27Speaker 3: want to leave.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Also, I just hadn't really been around like a big
- 4:31Speaker 3: group of people for a while in a way. Yeah,
- 4:34Speaker 3: and I didn't know many people. I didn't know people,
- 4:36Speaker 3: but I was just kind of like, oh, everyone's just
- 4:38Speaker 3: like so getting into it, and I just feel a
- 4:40Speaker 3: bit tired. Then I hit that diet croaked straight into
- 4:43Speaker 3: the veins, and then I had a few more and
- 4:46Speaker 3: the bartender was like giving me free diet croaks. He
- 4:49Speaker 3: was like, oh, wish I could be doing this.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I was like, I love that, And I think that's
- 4:52Speaker 2: such also a nice tip as well that for anyone
- 4:55Speaker 2: who is, you know, sober, curious and wanting to go
- 4:58Speaker 2: to events and be so that your goal is just
- 5:01Speaker 2: to get through the first hour mm hmm and then it.
- 5:04Speaker 3: All opens up. Yeah, the world is your oyster? Love
- 5:06Speaker 3: that yours? I want to hear you.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Mine is a fun little fact that I saw this week.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It's that ninety one percent of people are no longer
- 5:16Speaker 2: friends with the person they once called their best friend.
- 5:19Speaker 1: How crazy is that ninety one percent?
- 5:24Speaker 4: Well raise your hand if you can relate to that
- 5:26Speaker 4: statistic for the listeners out there all hands.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Are raised, but it just normalizes it a bit more.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I think, given the fact that you know, we could
- 5:36Speaker 2: all raise our hands, and I'm sure a lot of
- 5:37Speaker 2: people listening to this could think of someone that they
- 5:40Speaker 2: once called their best friend and it might not necessarily
- 5:42Speaker 2: been like a massive breakup mushroom cloud, Oh my god,
- 5:45Speaker 2: you facked my boyfriend, but like, there are definitely people
- 5:48Speaker 2: that you probably have called your best friend that are
- 5:50Speaker 2: no longer your friend and that's okay. And like, going
- 5:52Speaker 2: into a new year, if maybe that was a friendship
- 5:54Speaker 2: breakdown that happened last year, I kind of wanted to
- 5:56Speaker 2: share that, not to be like, look, everyone has no friends,
- 5:59Speaker 2: you're all going to break up and not be friends anymore,
- 6:02Speaker 2: but just that it's like that's normal, that's okay, and
- 6:05Speaker 2: that like give yourself grace in that that it wasn't
- 6:08Speaker 2: necessarily like your fault, Like it is a normal thing
- 6:11Speaker 2: that happens, and friendships do just break down and you
- 6:14Speaker 2: do just move on from them. But yeah, friendship breakoups
- 6:17Speaker 2: don't get the recognition they deserve.
- 6:20Speaker 1: All right, shall we get into let episode let's do it?
- 6:29Speaker 2: How is a twenty twenty five master plan different to
- 6:33Speaker 2: New Year's resolutions.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Okay, I think that the idea of a master plan
- 6:38Speaker 3: is just a much better idea than Newyear's resolutions because
- 6:42Speaker 3: it's less specific and not every one of your goals
- 6:46Speaker 3: has the same start date. Right, So when you think
- 6:49Speaker 3: of New Year's resolutions, the word the words new year
- 6:53Speaker 3: and literally in them, so it's like you've kind of
- 6:55Speaker 3: got to make them within the first week of January
- 6:58Speaker 3: for them to feel like they are New Year's rest solutions.
- 7:00Speaker 3: But your twenty twenty five master plan can involve a
- 7:04Speaker 3: series of goals that have later on start dates, so
- 7:07Speaker 3: you're not just like overwhelmed at the very beginning. You're
- 7:10Speaker 3: not just overwhelmed on January first. And you know it
- 7:14Speaker 3: is one of the biggest killer of goals is having
- 7:19Speaker 3: too many goals at once.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, right, Like because you get like a dopamine hit
- 7:22Speaker 2: when you set a goal.
- 7:23Speaker 1: You're like, fuck eon better than everyone else.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Yeah, and you get like inspired you do this, and
- 7:27Speaker 3: you're imagining the outcome. It's going to be big and brilliant,
- 7:31Speaker 3: your whole life is going to change. And then you're like, huh,
- 7:33Speaker 3: I actually have to work for them.
- 7:35Speaker 1: You're like, wait, this is hard.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's why I haven't done it before. So
- 7:40Speaker 3: a master plan is great because it's like, okay, so
- 7:43Speaker 3: my for me, I do like my twenty twenty five
- 7:45Speaker 3: master plan, as I break up the year into three sections,
- 7:49Speaker 3: each with four months. So you know, for the first
- 7:52Speaker 3: four months this year, it's like, I'm focusing on my career.
- 7:55Speaker 3: That's like my big thing, and I have like two
- 7:57Speaker 3: broad things that I'm focusing on in that. In the
- 8:00Speaker 3: next four months is okay, I'm going to focus on
- 8:02Speaker 3: my personal development, and then the final four months is
- 8:04Speaker 3: I'm focusing on transitioning my life because.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I'm moving right, Okay, So you break it up into
- 8:10Speaker 2: three months.
- 8:10Speaker 3: So three parts. And the thing is it's not like, Okay,
- 8:13Speaker 3: if your first four months of the year is focused
- 8:16Speaker 3: on your career, that you can't also focus on your fitness.
- 8:20Speaker 3: But it's like your primary goal and the thing that
- 8:23Speaker 3: you are putting all of your concentrated effort into is
- 8:27Speaker 3: one thing, one thing, and then hopefully by the end
- 8:30Speaker 3: of that four months that is working light clockwork. You
- 8:33Speaker 3: have done all the hard yards to make that a
- 8:35Speaker 3: really smooth thing. So career might be a difficult one
- 8:38Speaker 3: because that varies for everyone. But if we're talking like
- 8:41Speaker 3: fitness or wellness, wanting to get better at running, or
- 8:46Speaker 3: wanting to do a higher rocks or a triathlon, or
- 8:49Speaker 3: just to like eat better, you want to take that
- 8:51Speaker 3: four months to make that your primary goal so that
- 8:53Speaker 3: it becomes a habit, and then you can transition in
- 8:56Speaker 3: the next four months to maybe an elevated version of
- 8:59Speaker 3: that goal or shift to something else, knowing that now
- 9:03Speaker 3: this is like a well oiled machine.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I love that.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's definitely the energy universally this year.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I think quite a lot of people haven't necessarily gone
- 9:14Speaker 2: into it setting those news resolutions. We were saying in
- 9:17Speaker 2: the last episode that we kind of haven't done that
- 9:19Speaker 2: this year. We're just kind of like being a little
- 9:22Speaker 2: bit gentler in the expectations that we're setting for ourselves.
- 9:26Speaker 2: But I would love to know you made a social
- 9:28Speaker 2: post about some things that are on your twenty twenty
- 9:31Speaker 2: five master plan, and I would love to.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Share it with the chicks, and do you want me
- 9:36Speaker 1: to read it.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Yeah, So basically, like I really like what you said.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I have not set Newyears resolutions this year. I did
- 9:42Speaker 3: not set them. I set a theme which I do
- 9:45Speaker 3: every year, which is like my theme this year was
- 9:47Speaker 3: to trust myself and to go softly and kind of
- 9:50Speaker 3: works with the master plan, right, We're not trying to
- 9:53Speaker 3: box ourselves into a single stream of doing instead of
- 9:58Speaker 3: having like a broader perspective. So this was my twenty
- 10:00Speaker 3: twenty five months to plan. You ready, I'm excited, Okay,
- 10:02Speaker 3: be creative for no reward. Yes, yes, this sone's a
- 10:08Speaker 3: bit weird. Laugh so hard I start crying, but also
- 10:10Speaker 3: cry so hard I start laughing.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I love that. I'm gonna take that as my personal KPI.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Yes, please get a pen pal. And honestly, so many
- 10:22Speaker 3: people message me being like I want to be your
- 10:24Speaker 3: pen pal, and I was like, done, let's do a club.
- 10:27Speaker 3: So get a pen pal, dance wildly, plant a forest
- 10:30Speaker 3: of herbs in my garden, throw a street party for
- 10:33Speaker 3: my neighbors. People. If you are like a close friend
- 10:36Speaker 3: of mine, you know that me and my neighbor have
- 10:38Speaker 3: crazy b But actually now she's like my bestie.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Like she feel like you guys have worked it out
- 10:44Speaker 4: on the remix.
- 10:45Speaker 3: We have worked it out on the remix. Skinnied it
- 10:49Speaker 3: prove the hater is wrong, but nicely and with the kiss,
- 10:52Speaker 3: I think that's our Is it yours? No? Olive oil
- 10:56Speaker 3: full stop?
- 10:57Speaker 2: That's the one.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Dream a little dream? Stop wearing uncomfortable clothes.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Oh fuck yeah, because gosh.
- 11:06Speaker 3: And rule the world with softness.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Oh I love that. My favorite one was be creative
- 11:12Speaker 1: with no reward.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, that's a really good one. What about what
- 11:15Speaker 3: was your favorite olive oil? So it's oilful stop?
- 11:21Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, olive oil period period And I like that.
- 11:26Speaker 1: What's on your master plans out?
- 11:28Speaker 4: Oh okay, junk journaling is on there, and I want
- 11:33Speaker 4: to do like a monthly recap. That's where I'm going
- 11:35Speaker 4: to start. That's like the baseline for me. But I
- 11:37Speaker 4: also want to allow myself to if I get inspired
- 11:39Speaker 4: by something, I can like chuck it in there. I
- 11:41Speaker 4: was like trying to figure out how to like theme
- 11:43Speaker 4: it and plan it, and Chris was like, you don't
- 11:45Speaker 4: have to, like nobody's seeing this, Like you're not submitting
- 11:48Speaker 4: it to anybody at the end, so you can actually
- 11:50Speaker 4: just like go as you please. And I was like,
- 11:54Speaker 4: you're so right for that. So that's one. Also, meal
- 11:58Speaker 4: prepping every to ensure that I'm eating like yummy meals
- 12:04Speaker 4: that I've made myself and not ordering uber eats all
- 12:07Speaker 4: the time, go to more shows. That's definitely on my
- 12:11Speaker 4: master plan this year because that's where I feel the happiest,
- 12:14Speaker 4: watching live music, and I didn't have enough of that
- 12:17Speaker 4: last year.
- 12:18Speaker 2: So those are three that are on there for me.
- 12:20Speaker 2: What about you love that online? It would be learn
- 12:24Speaker 2: how to sew That's a good one. I want to
- 12:27Speaker 2: buy like a sewing machine and like fully learn how
- 12:30Speaker 2: to make my own clothes and like tailor and you know,
- 12:33Speaker 2: upscale my clothing and recycle and then learn a new language,
- 12:38Speaker 2: play more piano, eat more yummy food, and just giggle more.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Like as I was saying I was saying this hour before,
- 12:47Speaker 2: I was like, I just want to have more fucking
- 12:49Speaker 2: fun this year, and like not take life too seriously.
- 12:53Speaker 4: I love it though, because it's a mix of things that,
- 12:55Speaker 4: you know, perhaps like more traditional goals. I guess, like
- 12:58Speaker 4: you can have things that are professional or about self development,
- 13:01Speaker 4: but also you can have things that are a little
- 13:03Speaker 4: bit more lighthearted and silly and fun.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Well. Another one, watch more movies. I want to watch
- 13:08Speaker 2: movies more than TV shows.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I saw that the other day. Yeah you just send
- 13:12Speaker 3: you are you on letterbox? Yeah?
- 13:13Speaker 4: I was gonna say, have you got a Letterbox account?
- 13:15Speaker 1: What's this?
- 13:17Speaker 3: It's good Reads but for movies. Yeah, yeah, and you
- 13:21Speaker 3: can comment on other people, Like you can see other
- 13:23Speaker 3: people's reviews, and you can like comment on their reviews,
- 13:26Speaker 3: and you can have like your favorite list and people
- 13:29Speaker 3: go all in.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Like they make like really beautiful aesthetic ones and like
- 13:34Speaker 3: very specific niches, like movies to watch when you're in
- 13:37Speaker 3: your twenties and your boyfriend has just broken up with
- 13:39Speaker 3: you and you also have lost a toe or like
- 13:41Speaker 3: something really really specific, you know what I mean. Francis God.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Okay, so if you want to watch more movies in
- 13:47Speaker 2: twenty twenty five, you need to download Letterbox.
- 13:49Speaker 3: They're going to get you an account, thank you.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yes, I'm gonna do it immediately after we finished recording this.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you would absolutely love it.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Okay, oh my god.
- 13:56Speaker 3: But see this is the best thing. It's like, okay,
- 13:57Speaker 3: you can do that, Like that is going to make
- 14:00Speaker 3: your life better and it's not a strict, impossible discipline role.
- 14:04Speaker 3: And that's the same thing with like my theme. And
- 14:06Speaker 3: I'm going to ask you guys your theme as well.
- 14:07Speaker 3: It's like a theme or having a master plan touches
- 14:11Speaker 3: everything a goal is just so specific. So my my
- 14:14Speaker 3: like my theme was like my for trusting myself. I'm
- 14:17Speaker 3: going softly. Your theme is trade.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Mine is consistency. We were talking about our word of
- 14:29Speaker 4: the year, so I feel like that kind of leans
- 14:31Speaker 4: into it. So in the first week of January, I
- 14:35Speaker 4: booked in all of my appointments that I'd been putting off,
- 14:38Speaker 4: so like my optometrist, dentist, physio cervical screening, all those
- 14:45Speaker 4: great things that might I just want to get like
- 14:48Speaker 4: a handle on how I am inside and focus on that.
- 14:52Speaker 4: And I have nothing to do with any sort of
- 14:55Speaker 4: physical transformation for vanity reasons. I just want to feel
- 14:59Speaker 4: like hundred percent my best. I'm really focused on my
- 15:02Speaker 4: health in that.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Way consistency, but in terms of actual wellness, not just
- 15:06Speaker 3: fitness lifestyle, wellness, lifestyle, but health wellness.
- 15:10Speaker 1: What about you, Mine's just like less stress, more fun.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I just want to play.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Hell, Yeah, I love playing.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I love to be silly, goofy girl. SI sausage, Let
- 15:21Speaker 1: me be a cit sausage.
- 15:22Speaker 2: And yeah, I think also building a little bit more routine,
- 15:25Speaker 2: but like routine that's not about getting anything done. Like
- 15:31Speaker 2: routine that's literally like getting up and having a coffee
- 15:34Speaker 2: and scrolling on Pinterest or like playing piano or doing
- 15:37Speaker 2: my duelingo.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Yeah, like that's just.
- 15:39Speaker 2: About having a little bit more of a life rather
- 15:41Speaker 2: than revolving around getting shit done. I'm the get shit
- 15:45Speaker 2: done mentality is not my vibe this year. Yeah, I
- 15:48Speaker 2: am not a hustler this year. I am here for
- 15:51Speaker 2: the vibes. Vibes only I know, check back in in
- 15:54Speaker 2: three months.
- 15:55Speaker 3: I'm sorry. Two weeks in and our has already launched
- 15:57Speaker 3: a whole new podcast.
- 15:59Speaker 1: That's just fun. Do you know what that is? That's
- 16:01Speaker 1: creative for no reward. That's what like, I genuinely think
- 16:05Speaker 1: that's like.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Also, my theme that I'm stealing from you this year
- 16:08Speaker 2: is like being creative with no reward because, especially with
- 16:11Speaker 2: our job, and I think a lot of people who
- 16:13Speaker 2: do work in creative industries, whether that's a graphic designer
- 16:16Speaker 2: or a social media manager, a writer, whatever it is,
- 16:20Speaker 2: your creativity becomes measured by analytics and success and numbers
- 16:23Speaker 2: that sometimes you can lose your creative flair associated with
- 16:27Speaker 2: that because you might like someone and you enjoy doing it,
- 16:29Speaker 2: but if it bombs or flops or whatever, you're like,
- 16:32Speaker 2: oh cool, I don't feel creative in that way anymore,
- 16:35Speaker 2: even though you enjoyed it. So I think that's you know,
- 16:38Speaker 2: my passion for this year is being creative in the
- 16:40Speaker 2: reward also to.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Like peel the curtain back for the listeners, Like you
- 16:43Speaker 3: two worked so hard last year's did you? Uh yeah,
- 16:47Speaker 3: but we're talking about you, Like, I just feel like
- 16:51Speaker 3: every time I see you guys get a mean comment
- 16:53Speaker 3: or anything like that, I'm just like you guys don't understand.
- 16:58Speaker 3: You don't understand how hard these two work. So anyhow,
- 17:01Speaker 3: as your personal life coach, I approve both of those themes.
- 17:07Speaker 3: I approve all.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Right, So what are some tools or apps you can
- 17:12Speaker 2: use to map out and keep track of your master plan?
- 17:15Speaker 3: Okay, notes app? I love the notes app, but I
- 17:19Speaker 3: have a specific way of using the notes app. I
- 17:21Speaker 3: have my ongoing to do list, which just always sits
- 17:25Speaker 3: at the top. Then I have like my episode schedule
- 17:27Speaker 3: because obviously I'm a podcaster, like I need to keep
- 17:30Speaker 3: track of my ideas. I have like general content ideas.
- 17:33Speaker 3: And when I say content ideas, I don't just mean
- 17:35Speaker 3: like social media, I mean like book ideas, I mean
- 17:38Speaker 3: like business ideas. I mean ideas for how to like
- 17:40Speaker 3: completely rehord my life. Like it's used to just be
- 17:43Speaker 3: like Okay, I need to make this video. Now it's
- 17:45Speaker 3: like this is just everything. And then I have like
- 17:48Speaker 3: groceriy slash miscellaneous. I could probably come up with better names,
- 17:52Speaker 3: but that's just things that I need to buy. I
- 17:54Speaker 3: need to like book, I need to do that. You
- 17:58Speaker 3: know it's going to cost me money. I can also
- 18:00Speaker 3: keep track of like Okay, if this is not on
- 18:03Speaker 3: my list, why am I buying my fifth foundation for
- 18:06Speaker 3: the month? Like if like things that I actually need
- 18:09Speaker 3: go on that list, and then I'm when I go
- 18:11Speaker 3: shopping or whatever, I can be like Okay, I don't
- 18:12Speaker 3: need that, it's not on the list. Yeah, And I
- 18:15Speaker 3: find this is amazing because you using like an Apple phone,
- 18:18Speaker 3: you can pin them at the top.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I do know you could do that. Yeah, that's so.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Cool searching and then yeah, they just sit there, they're pinned,
- 18:26Speaker 3: They're just at the top. It's great. So that's my
- 18:28Speaker 3: first app that I would use. And if you're doing
- 18:29Speaker 3: like a master plan, you can also use like the
- 18:32Speaker 3: notes app to have like goal tracking. You can do
- 18:35Speaker 3: like a week so like a weekly update, so you
- 18:37Speaker 3: can even put like a little table on there and
- 18:39Speaker 3: be like, how many days of the week did I
- 18:40Speaker 3: eat an apple and then use an apple emoji? How
- 18:42Speaker 3: many days of the week did I go swimming? Did
- 18:44Speaker 3: I put money into my savings account? That kind of thing.
- 18:47Speaker 3: The other app that I love using is Frolo.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Oh what's frolo?
- 18:52Speaker 3: It's a budgeting app. I'm not going to go in
- 18:54Speaker 3: it because it's going to show me that I've spent
- 18:55Speaker 3: too much money on restaurants.
- 18:57Speaker 2: This, yeah, the thing that I want to get into this,
- 19:00Speaker 2: I won't have a better budgeting app.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I think that is great. And also if your master
- 19:04Speaker 3: plan is to do with your relationship, if you're in
- 19:07Speaker 3: a long term relationship, if you have a friend who's
- 19:10Speaker 3: suddenly gone long distance, sister, a brother, anything. I use
- 19:14Speaker 3: this app called a gape and it's amazing.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Have I talked about this before you told me about it,
- 19:20Speaker 4: and then I talked about it on the show, but
- 19:22Speaker 4: explaining to you so you don't remember.
- 19:24Speaker 3: So I travel a lot and I have like I
- 19:27Speaker 3: have a full time boyfriend, And what we were really
- 19:29Speaker 3: finding was like I'd be gone like months at a
- 19:31Speaker 3: time and it was like, okay, getting on a FaceTime
- 19:34Speaker 3: every single night. It's fun, but sometimes you just want
- 19:36Speaker 3: to like have deeper conversations. So this app gives you
- 19:39Speaker 3: a question for both of you to answer every single day,
- 19:42Speaker 3: and you can the first person who goes on the
- 19:43Speaker 3: app chooses the question. Basically, they can go through the
- 19:46Speaker 3: questions and you both have to respond before you can
- 19:49Speaker 3: see the other person's answer, and it would be really
- 19:51Speaker 3: cute things like what's your earliest memory of me? What
- 19:54Speaker 3: are three things you want to have accomplished in ten.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Years going back to Martra's and then you show how
- 20:01Speaker 4: do martras feed into building out your master plan, and
- 20:05Speaker 4: what's the psychology behind martras and how we can use
- 20:08Speaker 4: them to inspire us beyond just words on a page.
- 20:12Speaker 3: I'm going to use like the more Western definition of
- 20:15Speaker 3: a marchra here yea, which is kind of more synonymous
- 20:18Speaker 3: with an affirmation, right, But a mancho really is something
- 20:21Speaker 3: that is said to you that brings peace, that is
- 20:23Speaker 3: meant to ground you. It can be like an utter ens,
- 20:26Speaker 3: It can be a syllable, but it can also be
- 20:28Speaker 3: a phrase. And I think that when you have a
- 20:31Speaker 3: consistent phrase or series of phrases that you tell yourself
- 20:35Speaker 3: that ground you, it really starts to steer your life philosophy. Right,
- 20:39Speaker 3: how many thoughts do you have every day that are
- 20:41Speaker 3: thoughts that you might not necessarily want to have, that
- 20:43Speaker 3: you pay too much attention to that aren't necessarily useful,
- 20:47Speaker 3: And how often are you actually choosing to think specific
- 20:50Speaker 3: things about your life to perhaps elevate your life, Like
- 20:54Speaker 3: conscious thoughts are things that we actually don't have a
- 20:57Speaker 3: lot in a very busy life and a very busy way.
- 21:00Speaker 3: So I think that going into creating your master plan
- 21:03Speaker 3: for twenty twenty five, having some guiding philosophies and having
- 21:06Speaker 3: mantras that you take time out of your day to
- 21:09Speaker 3: repeat to yourself that feel good to you, that match
- 21:12Speaker 3: what you want, it's actually very very powerful, And if
- 21:14Speaker 3: you want to talk about the psychology of it, it's
- 21:17Speaker 3: basically the power of self talk, right, and self belief.
- 21:21Speaker 3: So if you believe something and if you say it
- 21:23Speaker 3: to yourself, basically you're feeding your brain. Like you and
- 21:26Speaker 3: your brain have a two way relationship. It tells you
- 21:29Speaker 3: how to see things, but you can also tell it
- 21:31Speaker 3: how to see things. So by giving it positive statements
- 21:34Speaker 3: like I am powerful, I am capable, I am willing
- 21:37Speaker 3: to do hard work, I release the need for external expectations.
- 21:41Speaker 3: You are reprogramming how your brain sees the world, but
- 21:45Speaker 3: how it thinks of you as how you think of
- 21:47Speaker 3: yourself basically as capable, and it's like incredibly powerful. I
- 21:54Speaker 3: have this way of doing it that I think everyone
- 21:57Speaker 3: should do because it's literally so easy. A big A four,
- 22:01Speaker 3: A three, the big version, big piece of paper, and
- 22:04Speaker 3: I just wrote down like ten mantras slash affirmations that
- 22:08Speaker 3: really embodied how I wanted to feel about myself this year,
- 22:11Speaker 3: and I put them on like the back of my
- 22:13Speaker 3: front door. There's no way I'm leaving my house without
- 22:16Speaker 3: saying that.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Love that, And that's like especially like you're gonna be
- 22:18Speaker 2: on your way out, You're gonna you're on your way
- 22:20Speaker 2: out to like live your life, and you're like, Okay,
- 22:22Speaker 2: this is how I want to be today.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Yeah, And you know what, sometimes I ignore them because
- 22:27Speaker 3: I here. Yeah, when I was coming here, I ignored them,
- 22:30Speaker 3: like didn't but it literally did feel like that I
- 22:32Speaker 3: was like, oh, I don't have time for you right now.
- 22:34Speaker 3: But most of the time I will just like you know,
- 22:36Speaker 3: see one or see two, or just like repeat them
- 22:39Speaker 3: to myself. When I was like single as well. I
- 22:42Speaker 3: used to have some that were like dating related, and
- 22:44Speaker 3: I used to do them before I would go on dates.
- 22:46Speaker 1: What are some of your dating mantras?
- 22:48Speaker 3: I think one of them was like I am magnetic,
- 22:50Speaker 3: I am charismatic. Every person I meet. It was like
- 22:53Speaker 3: every person I meet is attracted to me in some way.
- 22:56Speaker 3: I exude confidence. I know what I want. I am
- 22:59Speaker 3: not capable of settling. That was one I remember, actually,
- 23:04Speaker 3: and yeah, I've used those for like a while. Obviously
- 23:07Speaker 3: they worked out.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Yeah, happy with a full time boyfriend.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Is not even part time promotion. It really works. Also
- 23:18Speaker 3: meant that I had fun of dates, Yeah, because I
- 23:21Speaker 3: wasn't worried about like does this person like me, Like
- 23:23Speaker 3: do they think I'm hot? I'm like, I think I'm
- 23:25Speaker 3: hot because my march has said it, my affirmation has
- 23:28Speaker 3: told me so. Yeah.
- 23:29Speaker 2: It's like having an anchor term that can pull you
- 23:31Speaker 2: back to where you want to be, and those I
- 23:33Speaker 2: find so helpful, especially as someone who has an internal
- 23:37Speaker 2: monologue on fucking steroids that like, you know, my brain
- 23:41Speaker 2: can run away with a thought and then turn it
- 23:43Speaker 2: into a monster with three heads. The hydra in Greek mythology,
- 23:47Speaker 2: you like cut off one head.
- 23:48Speaker 3: And three come back.
- 23:49Speaker 2: That's my thoughts, especially when I'm overthinking or anxious or
- 23:52Speaker 2: stressed about something and exactly what you're saying. Having your
- 23:55Speaker 2: mantra as like an anchor term that you tell yourself
- 23:58Speaker 2: or even ask yourself elf is a really great way
- 24:02Speaker 2: to stop that spiral. One that I've seen quite recently
- 24:06Speaker 2: is asking yourself like what would my higher self do?
- 24:10Speaker 2: Which I love so like even that's when you're laying
- 24:13Speaker 2: in bed, you've had a long day of work and
- 24:14Speaker 2: you can't be fucked to get up and go have
- 24:16Speaker 2: a shower, Like, what would your higher self do?
- 24:17Speaker 1: They probably have a well, like when.
- 24:20Speaker 2: You don't want to do your laundry, like what would
- 24:22Speaker 2: my like what would the best version of myself do?
- 24:24Speaker 2: And you know what, sometimes that is just resting and
- 24:27Speaker 2: knowing like when to rest?
- 24:29Speaker 1: But I love that.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Yeah, we're all kind of it's all coming together here, guys,
- 24:33Speaker 3: everyone listening. You need to finish this episode off with
- 24:38Speaker 3: your theme, your mantra.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll have a homework list at the end.
- 24:43Speaker 2: What is one unconventional rule of philosophy you swear by
- 24:47Speaker 2: when planning your year?
- 24:49Speaker 3: Oh, don't do too much don't do too much. I
- 24:55Speaker 3: have this huge problem where my to do list is
- 24:57Speaker 3: never done because I always end up putting more things
- 24:59Speaker 3: on there. I'll get like two, I'll have like two
- 25:01Speaker 3: things left, and I'll be like, ooh, but I could
- 25:04Speaker 3: check on my hextet. Oh, I could go to like
- 25:07Speaker 3: I could do this, so I could do that. Maybe
- 25:09Speaker 3: I should get my car service. It's like nothing is
- 25:11Speaker 3: ever done, and so don't do too much is a
- 25:14Speaker 3: really good philosophy. Again, we talked about this at the
- 25:17Speaker 3: top of the episode, Like, you want to feel motivated,
- 25:21Speaker 3: you want to get stuff done, so you put heaps
- 25:23Speaker 3: on your list, you put heaps in that goal folder,
- 25:26Speaker 3: and actually you're doing yourself a disservice because your brain
- 25:29Speaker 3: does have limited cognitive resources to dedicate towards everything it
- 25:32Speaker 3: needs to do. So being selective is better for you
- 25:35Speaker 3: and it's better for your goals and your success.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I love it ten out of ten.
- 25:40Speaker 4: And to wrap up our final question, what has been
- 25:44Speaker 4: your biggest life lesson while creating Mantram, I.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Think my biggest lesson has been everyone has wisdom within them,
- 25:53Speaker 3: like everyone has something that they are wise about. And
- 25:58Speaker 3: in making Mantra, I spoke to so many people and
- 26:01Speaker 3: was like, what's your advice on this, what are your
- 26:03Speaker 3: perspectives on this march or on this thought, on this
- 26:06Speaker 3: piece of philosophy. And it's just wild to see that
- 26:09Speaker 3: everyone is actually very deep when it comes to thinking
- 26:13Speaker 3: about their life. And sometimes I think we, you know,
- 26:16Speaker 3: we do turn to people like me in a sense,
- 26:20Speaker 3: like you know, influences and wellness people and scientists and
- 26:25Speaker 3: psychologists and people online who are deemed experts, but actually
- 26:29Speaker 3: there is so much wisdom that you have within you.
- 26:33Speaker 3: The other thing I learned was big life lesson is
- 26:35Speaker 3: it's not work when you really care about it. I
- 26:37Speaker 3: was just like making March because we did like ten
- 26:40Speaker 3: episodes to begin with, just to get them out. And
- 26:42Speaker 3: if I did ten episodes of the Psychology of your twenties,
- 26:45Speaker 3: like back to back, I'd be exhausted, mainly because they
- 26:48Speaker 3: are like very researched heavy. But with March, I was like, Wow, this.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Is just so much energized energized.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's great.
- 26:55Speaker 1: I love that. Thanks and those are both beautiful.
- 26:59Speaker 4: And before we kick you off, kick you out of
- 27:01Speaker 4: the studio. You have so many exciting things coming up
- 27:05Speaker 4: this year, but you have a very exciting launch. Your
- 27:10Speaker 4: debut book coming out. Can you tell the chicks a
- 27:13Speaker 4: little bit about it and where they can get it,
- 27:15Speaker 4: and we can put a link in the description of.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Guy's so amazing. I love how you said debut book,
- 27:19Speaker 3: like there'll be more. That's really nice.
- 27:21Speaker 4: We're manifesting obviously.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Yes. So I wrote a book last year, and you
- 27:26Speaker 3: know what was wild was that you guys were like
- 27:29Speaker 3: two steps ahead of me, so I could see what
- 27:31Speaker 3: was coming up. I was like, all right, what do
- 27:34Speaker 3: I need to be prepared for? Yeah, And so you
- 27:37Speaker 3: can get the book Person in Progress. It's available for
- 27:39Speaker 3: pre order if you're listening in Australia, I would really
- 27:42Speaker 3: recommend you pre order it from Reading's Small Bookstore, a
- 27:45Speaker 3: Melbourne based bookstore, and Readings is just amazing. If you're elsewhere,
- 27:50Speaker 3: you can go to Penguin Random House that website and
- 27:54Speaker 3: look up Person in Progress, find your local bookstore and
- 27:57Speaker 3: your area will come up when you when you search. Yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 3: very excited. It comes out April twenty ninth, twenty twenty five.
- 28:03Speaker 1: And what's it about.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Oh, It's basically about unraveling the psychology of your twenties.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Like it's got four sections one about work, one about relationships,
- 28:13Speaker 3: one about healing, one about just general self discovery, and
- 28:16Speaker 3: we break down like the biggest dilemmas and questions about
- 28:18Speaker 3: your twenties from a psychological perspective.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Thank you so much for coming on. We'll have to
- 28:24Speaker 1: have you on for a fifth time when the book
- 28:25Speaker 1: comes out.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Yes, I think.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Actually on Basic Bitch Book Club.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yes, so we'll have to do that as well. That
- 28:32Speaker 1: is a wrap for this episode of.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Three Broke Chicks, given that Jam is now the third
- 28:37Speaker 2: official co host. And thank you so much Chicky Chicks
- 28:40Speaker 2: for having us in your ear holes. We absolutely love
- 28:42Speaker 2: to be here. And shout out to m ik Made
- 28:44Speaker 2: for making this episode of two Broke Chicks happen. Love
- 28:47Speaker 2: you kisses, smooth chits, and don't forget your homework for
- 28:51Speaker 2: your master plans, So what do they have to do?
- 28:53Speaker 3: I want a word slash theme of the year, and
- 28:57Speaker 3: then I want you to write out a couple of
- 28:59Speaker 3: mantras to put somewhere in your house on the back
- 29:02Speaker 3: of the door, something like that. Come up with your
- 29:05Speaker 3: master plan, but try and not have too many concrete
- 29:07Speaker 3: goals and break it down into three sections. First four months,
- 29:12Speaker 3: Middle four months final four months and.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Have fun, yeah all right?
- 29:16Speaker 4: Love It by Chicks by Chicks, The trash Man
