Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Cash giveaway, big show today. I'm really cool that you
- 0:05Speaker 1: got a hold of the high school coach for Jadarian
- 0:08Speaker 1: I gotta get that.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Right man, JD.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Price? How about that, Greg John Schneider said last night.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's his new name, JD.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Ed Juedarian Price is how he pronounces it. We were
- 0:20Speaker 1: told his high school coach in Dennison, Texas. It's in
- 0:24Speaker 1: North Texas, right across the Red River from Oklahoma. That's
- 0:29Speaker 1: where he grew up. And that's a city that has
- 0:32Speaker 1: sixty five a crime average above sixty five percent of
- 0:37Speaker 1: the town's cities in our country. He grew up with
- 0:40Speaker 1: a single mom as his mother. We're going to talk
- 0:42Speaker 1: about that in a minute. We're gonna talk about his
- 0:44Speaker 1: high school coach, who knows all about the background of
- 0:47Speaker 1: Jadarian Price and how he got to become the Seahawks
- 0:50Speaker 1: first round draft pick. We'll talk about it. We'll talk
- 0:52Speaker 1: to him at eleven o'clock. So why they take Price, Well,
- 0:57Speaker 1: let's let's get to the crux of it. They were
- 1:00Speaker 1: trying to trade down. They thought they were going to
- 1:02Speaker 1: trade down, and then the floor dropped out behind it,
- 1:05Speaker 1: right under him. Sixth trades between the twenty and thirty
- 1:09Speaker 1: first picks. Chris, I don't think it was the intent
- 1:12Speaker 1: of the San Francisco forty nine ers, but the rivals
- 1:14Speaker 1: screwed them. They traded down twice right in front of
- 1:18Speaker 1: the Seahawks. The second time extinguished the seahawks last chance
- 1:22Speaker 1: to get a second round team back up in the
- 1:23Speaker 1: first round the New York Jets. The Jets took the
- 1:27Speaker 1: thirty first pick that the forty nine ers had traded for,
- 1:31Speaker 1: took the thirty first pick right in front of the Seahawks,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and there the Seahawks had no more trade partners that
- 1:37Speaker 1: wanted to trade up into the first round to thirty two.
- 1:40Speaker 1: That's why they picked. And then it became a calculus
- 1:43Speaker 1: of for John Schneider, Mike McDonald their stabs, can we
- 1:46Speaker 1: wait until sixty four because now we don't have a
- 1:49Speaker 1: second round pick in the thirties or forties like we
- 1:51Speaker 1: thought we were going to because we didn't trade down.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Can we get price at sixty four to bottom of
- 1:56Speaker 1: round two? And the answer obviously was no. They didn't
- 1:59Speaker 1: think they could risk doing that, so that's why they
- 2:01Speaker 1: chose him at thirty two. Yes, it was an overpick
- 2:03Speaker 1: in the sense that he was probably a high mid
- 2:07Speaker 1: second round pick, but Seattle didn't have that, and they
- 2:11Speaker 1: don't have the option to have that. They're not going
- 2:12Speaker 1: to trade up today. It seems obvious that John Schneider
- 2:15Speaker 1: is protecting his cache of twelve draft picks in a
- 2:18Speaker 1: much stronger draft next year. But those of you there,
- 2:22Speaker 1: I've got a lot of people asking me last night,
- 2:24Speaker 1: late last night, Wow, it seems like John Schneider and
- 2:26Speaker 1: Mike McDonald disappointed when they had their press conference and
- 2:29Speaker 1: talking about the pick. Well, first of all, this is
- 2:32Speaker 1: a very long process of very long days, and that
- 2:34Speaker 1: was a very long day yesterday of John Schneider being
- 2:36Speaker 1: on the phone from o dark thirty until through the
- 2:40Speaker 1: thirty second pick. And he's probably on the phone as
- 2:42Speaker 1: soon as he got done talking to us to see
- 2:43Speaker 1: what might be available today in rounds two and three.
- 2:47Speaker 1: But the other thing was they really did think they
- 2:49Speaker 1: were going to get into the second round, could get
- 2:51Speaker 1: priced and an extra pick. Now, Chris, it looks like
- 2:54Speaker 1: they're going to be with four picks this weekend.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it caught anybody for a surprise, just because going
- 3:00Speaker 3: in you I think everyone put money on John Schneider
- 3:04Speaker 3: finding a way to get accumulate more picks. That was
- 3:08Speaker 3: what you and I talked about. I think every show
- 3:10Speaker 3: discussed that in some shape or form. The bigger question
- 3:14Speaker 3: was what if. I mean, I remember joke. I joke
- 3:16Speaker 3: with Greg and said, you don't need to show up
- 3:18Speaker 3: till about eight o'clock technically.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Which is true. I mean, it still worked out.
- 3:23Speaker 3: But imagine if Greg just was like, Eh, he's not
- 3:25Speaker 3: gonna do anything, and then so any who the aspect
- 3:29Speaker 3: of yeah, was it a bit of a reach? You
- 3:31Speaker 3: look at the draft boards from the Ringer to ESPN.
- 3:34Speaker 3: They all had price JD price around fifty five, maybe sixty,
- 3:38Speaker 3: depending on what board you look at, and the Seahous
- 3:40Speaker 3: got them at thirty two. So yeah, it might be
- 3:42Speaker 3: an overreach for production of what he could do. But
- 3:46Speaker 3: the Seahowks are like, you know what, he was a
- 3:47Speaker 3: guy that was available on our board. We couldn't really
- 3:50Speaker 3: wait to see if things would fall our way, because
- 3:53Speaker 3: as you could see, it didn't. They had They had
- 3:55Speaker 3: trades in mind, and everyone screwed them at every turn
- 3:59Speaker 3: they try, whether the Buffalo Bills, the as you mentioned,
- 4:03Speaker 3: their rival, and the forty nine ers, like everyone was
- 4:05Speaker 3: making deals in trades and the Seahawks didn't find a
- 4:08Speaker 3: dancing partner and they had to make a pick. They
- 4:10Speaker 3: were in a situation where it was like, we just
- 4:12Speaker 3: cannot not take a player, So the best on their
- 4:14Speaker 3: board was mister Price, and that's what they went with.
- 4:17Speaker 3: And congratulations to him. He's got an opportunity now to
- 4:21Speaker 3: come to Seattle and and do things. So I'm excited
- 4:23Speaker 3: to see what this kid can do. I know, I
- 4:26Speaker 3: know Hugh Millen and who was also who else ian yesterday?
- 4:29Speaker 1: Oh Rob Rain.
- 4:30Speaker 3: They talked about his style and how he can fit
- 4:34Speaker 3: in and he's running back one right now. Albeit Mike
- 4:36Speaker 3: McDonald and John Shot gonna say anthing different, but we
- 4:40Speaker 3: all know he is the better guy on the roster
- 4:42Speaker 3: right now.
- 4:43Speaker 2: So I'm excited to see how they use him in
- 4:45Speaker 2: the offense.
- 4:46Speaker 3: He wasn't He didn't get too many opportunities as a starter,
- 4:49Speaker 3: if any when he was had an notre dame because oh,
- 4:51Speaker 3: there was a guy that was really good that was
- 4:53Speaker 3: ahead of him. So with that being say, he's going
- 4:54Speaker 3: to get a lot of opportunities in Seattle and best
- 4:57Speaker 3: of luck to the kid.
- 4:57Speaker 1: He should he should fit right in. Yeah, you pick
- 5:00Speaker 1: him first round he's playing, and you got him for
- 5:03Speaker 1: the next four years. As we mentioned, the six true
- 5:05Speaker 1: tailbacks on the roster, none of whom are on the
- 5:08Speaker 1: roster are signed to the roster beyond twenty twenty six.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So yeah, he's playing. But why they take him? Well,
- 5:16Speaker 1: first of all, everyone at this level, everyone who gets
- 5:20Speaker 1: to even be at the combine ineligible for the draft
- 5:23Speaker 1: and considered to be picked in the NFL, they all
- 5:26Speaker 1: have forty times within if you're a skill position player
- 5:29Speaker 1: four three to four six. They're all strong as hell.
- 5:32Speaker 1: They've all been the top of their class in high
- 5:34Speaker 1: school and college, and they're the best of the best.
- 5:37Speaker 1: They're all of that on the football field. What the
- 5:41Speaker 1: essence of the draft is is the off the field,
- 5:44Speaker 1: the background, the character, the makeup, and why they are here.
- 5:48Speaker 1: That's what I write about. That's what I ask about
- 5:51Speaker 1: and more and more. That's what the Seahawks pick for.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Mike McDonald said last night. The type of person he
- 5:58Speaker 1: is is a lot ar reason why Jenarian Smith Jennarian Price,
- 6:02Speaker 1: excuse me, is the latest Seahawk. Well, his background, i mentioned,
- 6:07Speaker 1: is raised by a single mother. His mother, Jessica Butler,
- 6:10Speaker 1: had him when she was seventeen years old in North Texas.
- 6:16Speaker 1: The father was out of the picture pretty soon after that.
- 6:19Speaker 1: She also had two younger daughters. When Price was twelve
- 6:22Speaker 1: years old, his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Then grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles.
- 6:30Speaker 1: They drove Mom to sixteen rounds of chemotherapy. While middle
- 6:35Speaker 1: school or Price Jadarian Price was at the time twelve
- 6:38Speaker 1: years old, he took care of his ten year old
- 6:40Speaker 1: and six year old sisters at home. He cooked for him,
- 6:43Speaker 1: He made sure they got to school on time. He
- 6:45Speaker 1: made sure they were doing their school work while he
- 6:47Speaker 1: himself was doing the same thing and starring in football.
- 6:52Speaker 1: He went through Dennison High School in Texas, As I mentioned,
- 6:56Speaker 1: a city that has a higher crime rate than sixty
- 6:58Speaker 1: five percent of American cities. Was all district as a
- 7:01Speaker 1: running back his junior and senior seasons at Dennison High School,
- 7:05Speaker 1: and he earned a scholarship to Notre Dame in twenty seventeen,
- 7:09Speaker 1: two years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, his mom,
- 7:14Speaker 1: Jessica Butler, beat it. She was declared cancer free. Jenarian
- 7:20Speaker 1: Price tore his achilles in twenty twenty two, its freshman
- 7:23Speaker 1: year at Notre Dame ruined his whole season, didn't play
- 7:25Speaker 1: at all. That's why he only has three college years
- 7:27Speaker 1: on his resume. Yet he stayed, and he was offered
- 7:32Speaker 1: millions of dollars to leave Notre Dame because he was
- 7:34Speaker 1: the backup to Jeremiah I Love, and he stayed. He said,
- 7:38Speaker 1: I wanted the challenge of being the backup to the
- 7:41Speaker 1: best player in college football. It's what he thinks. Love
- 7:44Speaker 1: is sure enough. Love was picked third in the draft,
- 7:46Speaker 1: the entire draft, last night, by the Arizona Cardinals. He said,
- 7:50Speaker 1: I asked him about his mother being his inspiration. He says,
- 7:53Speaker 1: his mother is his rock, his life. And I asked
- 7:57Speaker 1: him what the value of her inspiration is in how
- 8:00Speaker 1: it has propelled to me. He said, you know what,
- 8:02Speaker 1: when I was at Notre Dame complaining about not playing,
- 8:04Speaker 1: or when I tore my achilles and I had a
- 8:06Speaker 1: twelve month process to get back, and I thought I
- 8:08Speaker 1: was having hard days, I thought of my mom and
- 8:11Speaker 1: I thought of how she got through this. He thought
- 8:14Speaker 1: to himself that this isn't hard. Look at my mom,
- 8:17Speaker 1: did Mom? Missus rock? You can bet that. Jessica Butler
- 8:22Speaker 1: on September ninth, a Wednesday night, will be inside Luomenfield
- 8:26Speaker 1: to watch her son be the lead running back for
- 8:29Speaker 1: the Super Bowl champion Seahawks. That's what the draft's about.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Every one of the two hundred and fifty five plusible
- 8:35Speaker 1: whatever it is this year, players that get drafted. Every year,
- 8:39Speaker 1: the two hundred and fifty plot players get drafted, they
- 8:41Speaker 1: all have a story, they all have a path, and
- 8:43Speaker 1: we all can see their football and we've watched it
- 8:46Speaker 1: and they're all making tons of money now in college
- 8:49Speaker 1: because of an I own the transfer portal. They're all
- 8:52Speaker 1: the same in that regard. The football is the same.
- 8:54Speaker 1: They're all fast, they're all strong, they're all skilled, but
- 8:58Speaker 1: they're all different in how they got here and how
- 9:01Speaker 1: they got here in their makeup is what the Seahawks
- 9:03Speaker 1: have really tuned into for this Mike McDonald culture. It's
- 9:07Speaker 1: why he's here. Mike McDonald talked about that last night.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I asked him, what about the family upbringing and what
- 9:16Speaker 1: d Darian Price saw growing up attracted him to the
- 9:19Speaker 1: Seahawks culture.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Well, look, I'm just I'm hearing the story from from
- 9:24Speaker 4: the people that are involved in the process, and you know,
- 9:28Speaker 4: it's it's it's an interesting exercise to put yourself in
- 9:31Speaker 4: their shoes from when that happened in their life and
- 9:35Speaker 4: like that that that really grounds you pretty quickly, you know.
- 9:39Speaker 4: And so I mean a lot of a lot of
- 9:41Speaker 4: these guys throughout the whole process heres like holy smokes man.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Like you know, for them to be able to put
- 9:47Speaker 4: themselves in this situation in their lives, giving a lot
- 9:51Speaker 4: of things that had to go through is just really
- 9:52Speaker 4: really impressive. So you can't help but respect a lot
- 9:54Speaker 4: of these guys.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Holy smokes man. That's what Mike McDonald said. His father's
- 10:00Speaker 1: going through a health battle of his own in Georgia,
- 10:04Speaker 1: and HiT's pretty close to home to the thirty eight
- 10:06Speaker 1: year old head coach. What jedar In Price has gone
- 10:09Speaker 1: through with his mother beating breast cancer. I asked Price
- 10:13Speaker 1: last night. We got him on the phone in Dennison, Texas,
- 10:15Speaker 1: a few minutes after he was selected by the Seahawks,
- 10:18Speaker 1: and I asked him about the inspiration at his mother.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Yeah, it's inspired me a lot, specifically just the idea
- 10:24Speaker 5: of going through adversity. I truly believe that in order
- 10:28Speaker 5: to grow you have to go through paint in adversity,
- 10:30Speaker 5: adversity and watch my mom go through that and it
- 10:32Speaker 5: made me believe like there's nothing that could stop me
- 10:35Speaker 5: getting to achieve my dreams. And because she went through
- 10:38Speaker 5: the worst, so what's the you know, what's one little
- 10:40Speaker 5: at that day or adversity for me? You know that
- 10:43Speaker 5: I can always get through it.
- 10:45Speaker 1: And if that's not enough to get you to like
- 10:47Speaker 1: the newest Seahawks, this is what the phone call sounded
- 10:52Speaker 1: like when John Schneider called jdar in price amid his family,
- 10:56Speaker 1: his friends, and his high school teammates in Dennison, Texas,
- 11:00Speaker 1: to tell him he was the thirty second pick in
- 11:01Speaker 1: the NFL draft last night.
- 11:03Speaker 6: Hello, Darian, Yes, sir, you're doing John Shdier with the Seahawks.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Hey man, we're getting ready to pick you right here.
- 11:09Speaker 6: Brother.
- 11:10Speaker 1: We're really excited for you.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Man.
- 11:12Speaker 4: All your stuff throughout the spring was outstanding, so fun
- 11:14Speaker 4: watching you play, and man, we can't wait to make
- 11:17Speaker 4: you a Seahawk.
- 11:17Speaker 5: But I appreciation right here's our head coach.
- 11:21Speaker 6: Congratulations brother, Thanks, yes, really, Seahawk man, let's go pick
- 11:33Speaker 6: congratulations bro?
- 11:35Speaker 5: Thanks, no, brother, how are you feeling?
- 11:37Speaker 1: He's feeling great? Man, I'll rate the ball.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Man, that's awesome.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Who you with right now.
- 11:42Speaker 5: I'm with the family.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Everybody.
- 11:44Speaker 4: That's great, that's great. Congratulations, well, enjoy. I want you
- 11:48Speaker 4: to talk to our o C. Brian Fleury and then
- 11:50Speaker 4: Thomas Hammy. You remember him from from me, So sit
- 11:54Speaker 4: tight man. Congratulations and we'll see you soon.
- 11:56Speaker 5: Okay, thank you?
- 11:57Speaker 1: All right, brother, here's Brian. Alright.
- 11:58Speaker 6: What's up?
- 11:59Speaker 7: Man?
- 12:00Speaker 5: What's up? How you doing, bro? I'm doing good.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I bet hey man. I love meeting you with the combine.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I love everything about your attitude. That chip on your shoulder.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Don't lose that, man, that's gonna it's gonna make you
- 12:09Speaker 4: create in this league.
- 12:10Speaker 5: All right, yes, yes, enjoyed.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Eaton, here comes our running back hoach.
- 12:14Speaker 8: Congrats man, how you doing.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 12:19Speaker 8: Good time to go to work it hey, listen, Like
- 12:23Speaker 8: we talked about, it's been a long process, but worth it.
- 12:26Speaker 8: I can't wait to hear your name called and get
- 12:28Speaker 8: you up here next week. Those emotions are real, man,
- 12:35Speaker 8: enjoyed this moment. Enjoy it with your family and conculation.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Thank you, no problem. Jedarian Price. Last night in Dennis
- 12:45Speaker 1: and Texas on the phone with the series. The last
- 12:47Speaker 1: voice you heard was Thomas Pennock. He's the last of
- 12:50Speaker 1: the hires, the newest, i should say hire of the
- 12:52Speaker 1: Seahawks assistant coaches. Running backs coach was the Northern Illinois
- 12:57Speaker 1: head coach until Mike McDonald brought him in to the
- 12:59Speaker 1: Sea staff, and the running backs coach of the Seahawks
- 13:03Speaker 1: has the closest relationship with Jedarion Price. They spoke for
- 13:07Speaker 1: a long time at the combine and then he had
- 13:10Speaker 1: a zoom call with the Seahawks coaching staff that Hammick led,
- 13:16Speaker 1: and that forty five minute call, John Schneider said that
- 13:19Speaker 1: Price knocked it out apart. Hammick talked to Price about
- 13:24Speaker 1: the fact he had four fumbles in college the last
- 13:26Speaker 1: couple of years, a little bit concerning for a guy
- 13:29Speaker 1: who only had two hundred eighty college snaps his entire
- 13:31Speaker 1: career in Notre Dame. And he said that Hammock was
- 13:34Speaker 1: already giving him pointers on how to hold the ball,
- 13:37Speaker 1: what drills they want him to do when he gets
- 13:38Speaker 1: here next week. And they talked ball. They said, they
- 13:42Speaker 1: just talked ball in that forty five minute zom call,
- 13:44Speaker 1: and the Seahawks staff was blown away. But I think
- 13:47Speaker 1: from that glimpse you can get an idea what this
- 13:49Speaker 1: means to Jedarion Price. So when you see him come
- 13:52Speaker 1: in to Seattle and you see him play his first
- 13:54Speaker 1: games this fall, think of the backstory of how he
- 13:56Speaker 1: got here. Every one of the players on the Seahawks
- 13:58Speaker 1: have a backstory. Every one of them have a story
- 14:00Speaker 1: and unique to them on their why and why they
- 14:03Speaker 1: got here. And increasingly including in team meetings and position
- 14:06Speaker 1: meetings last year, the Seahawks players are sharing their whys.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Leonard Williams talks a lot about this. Ernest Jones talks
- 14:12Speaker 1: about this, talked about it when his father passed away
- 14:15Speaker 1: last spring. He and I Ernest Jones and I lost
- 14:18Speaker 1: our fathers a month apart last spring, and we talked
- 14:21Speaker 1: about this what our why is. And they know now
- 14:25Speaker 1: jadari In Price is why, and that is what they
- 14:27Speaker 1: want inside their culture. The Seahawks tax in this draft
- 14:31Speaker 1: is to find guys that merge into their championship culture.
- 14:34Speaker 1: What they think is the reason why they won the
- 14:35Speaker 1: Super Bowl. I say they took a huge first step
- 14:39Speaker 1: in that regard last night. Coming up tons more to
- 14:42Speaker 1: talk about in the NFL Draft, including why they didn't
- 14:45Speaker 1: trade down, what conspired against them. The Ty Simpson of
- 14:49Speaker 1: Los Angeles Ramseean McVay smoke coming out of his ear story.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Eleven o'clock we'll talk to Jadarian, Price's high school coach
- 14:58Speaker 1: in Dennis and Texas. Text four nine, four to five
- 15:01Speaker 1: to one. Read them back at eleven thirty to come
- 15:03Speaker 1: and dodge. Text line, how do you feel about the draft?
- 15:05Speaker 1: What do you think about the prick of Price? Where
- 15:07Speaker 1: do you think they go from here in the second
- 15:08Speaker 1: and third round? Position wise? Player wise? You'd like to
- 15:11Speaker 1: see come off the board for the Seahawks today. All
- 15:13Speaker 1: that coming up on a pack show on a Friday.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Happy Friday too on ninety three point three KJRFM. Welcome back,

- 16:33Speaker 1: around your car, whatever. Listen to us all day long,
- 16:35Speaker 1: all weekend long. Chuck Powell and I will be out
- 16:37Speaker 1: there tomorrow the third round or the fourth round, fifth round,
- 16:41Speaker 1: sixth round, seventh round. The third and final day of
- 16:42Speaker 1: the draft begins nine am Seattle Time on Saturday. Chuck
- 16:47Speaker 1: Poll and I will be out there on ninety three
- 16:49Speaker 1: point three KJR FM. What surprised you Chris four nine
- 16:55Speaker 1: four five one, What's surprised you? At t coma doc Texan.
- 16:57Speaker 1: What did you love about last night's draft? What did
- 16:59Speaker 1: you hate? What did you think about the new time
- 17:00Speaker 1: of eight minutes? Let us know, we'll read back eleven thirty.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I love that as eight minutes, but I think, to
- 17:06Speaker 3: John Snyder's point, if you're a good organization, it doesn't
- 17:09Speaker 3: really affect you.
- 17:10Speaker 2: You're prepared, You're you're well prepared.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Obviously, trying to trade and do other things that takes time,
- 17:17Speaker 3: and obviously they couldn't make the deal. But I like
- 17:20Speaker 3: that process of making it shorter. That way, it's not
- 17:22Speaker 3: a five hour event. Yeah, I got about three hours,
- 17:25Speaker 3: so that's.
- 17:26Speaker 2: A lot better.
- 17:26Speaker 3: And maybe they push it to seven minutes. Who knows
- 17:29Speaker 3: how that continues to move forward. And I'm happy for
- 17:31Speaker 3: all these young folks that get opportunity to live out
- 17:32Speaker 3: their dream of playing at the next level. You know,
- 17:35Speaker 3: it's a huge opportunity, and don't take it for granted
- 17:38Speaker 3: because a lot of these players will not make rosters,
- 17:40Speaker 3: but at least you get the opportunity to get your
- 17:43Speaker 3: name called. If you're a first round pick, you're going
- 17:45Speaker 3: to be playing unless something happens. But for everyone else,
- 17:48Speaker 3: it's just a really cool opportunity for you to go
- 17:50Speaker 3: out there, showcase your skilled and get to have fun
- 17:52Speaker 3: with it. You know, you get to play football for
- 17:54Speaker 3: a living, take it serious and enjoy the ride while
- 17:56Speaker 3: you can, because it's a it's a tough sport to play.
- 17:58Speaker 2: It's very physical. Not I think it's three years tiered guaranteed.
- 18:03Speaker 1: So that's not even guaranteed, because.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, three years is the opportunity.
- 18:08Speaker 1: How about that? That's the better word is get a chance.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Even the rookie contracts you get as a draft picker
- 18:12Speaker 1: not guarantee. You get a four year salary, four year contract,
- 18:17Speaker 1: but you can be cut. Yeah, and there are examples.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Even last year with the Seahawks Damian Martinez, the running
- 18:23Speaker 1: back from the University of Miami in Oregon State. They
- 18:25Speaker 1: released him as a rookie draft pick. So last night,
- 18:29Speaker 1: tonight tomorrow are the apexes of their careers. For many
- 18:33Speaker 1: of them, they'll never get a higher, more real moment
- 18:37Speaker 1: than that. That is the pinnacle. It's why they do
- 18:39Speaker 1: two days in high school. It's why they do captains practice,
- 18:42Speaker 1: why they get up at five thirty in the morning,
- 18:44Speaker 1: do weightlifting and run the track and run the stadium
- 18:47Speaker 1: steps for last night, tonight and Saturday. And to me,
- 18:50Speaker 1: that's the coolest part of the draft. And I could
- 18:53Speaker 1: take her leave the forty yard dash times and everyone
- 18:56Speaker 1: has those. I get it. They're fast, they're strong, That's
- 18:58Speaker 1: why they where they are. It's their individual path we
- 19:00Speaker 1: get here. Like we talked about, which at aarian price
- 19:03Speaker 1: last segment, how do you get there? Well, they were
- 19:06Speaker 1: going to trade back. They were going to take price
- 19:09Speaker 1: mid early second round, and that was the plan. Is
- 19:11Speaker 1: the trade backing game at least that one more picked
- 19:13Speaker 1: that at least five. They could have edited a fourth
- 19:15Speaker 1: round pick had it been able to trade back in
- 19:17Speaker 1: the first round. But we mentioned eight trade six happened
- 19:21Speaker 1: right under their noses. The San Francisco forty nine ers
- 19:25Speaker 1: traded back twice, including right in front of them. So
- 19:27Speaker 1: the Seahawks are out of suitors. They could not trade
- 19:29Speaker 1: it because they didn't have anyone to trade with. John
- 19:31Speaker 1: Schneider talked about that and how it came to be
- 19:34Speaker 1: that he wasn't able to deal his first round pick
- 19:36Speaker 1: for the fifteenth time in seventeen drafts. It was weird.
- 19:41Speaker 4: I thought we were going back for sure, and then
- 19:43Speaker 4: things just went no, no, no, no, no, so I
- 19:46Speaker 4: think everyone must been hyper focused there with like Rutledge,
- 19:49Speaker 4: Chris Johnson, falk I forget who else written there, Sorry,
- 19:53Speaker 4: it just happened.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Falk is the edge rusher that went right before from Auburn.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Rutler is the guard from Georgia Tech who went higher
- 20:03Speaker 1: than a lot of people thought. He actually was one
- 20:04Speaker 1: of the ones I nailed going to the Houston Texans
- 20:07Speaker 1: in the mid high twenties. But the pick that really
- 20:11Speaker 1: changed everything was Ty Simpson, the quarterback going to the
- 20:14Speaker 1: Rams at thirteen, because then the Seahawks didn't have the
- 20:17Speaker 1: quarterback that say, the Arizona Cardinals at thirty two might
- 20:19Speaker 1: have jumped up to get after the Cardinals. As Chris mentioned,
- 20:23Speaker 1: got Jeremiah loved the Notre Dame running back. By the way,
- 20:25Speaker 1: last night, the first time in NFL history that two
- 20:29Speaker 1: running backs from the same school were the first two
- 20:31Speaker 1: running backs taken in the draft. There have been times
- 20:35Speaker 1: Arkansas had a few years ago of running backs taken
- 20:39Speaker 1: from the same school in the first round, but not
- 20:41Speaker 1: the first two of the entire draft, and only two
- 20:43Speaker 1: running backs have been taken. So it really conspired against
- 20:48Speaker 1: the Seahawks Chris to trade down it was their plan
- 20:51Speaker 1: to do so. And now, because I mentioned earlier at
- 20:54Speaker 1: sixty four and ninety six, if you trade down, you're
- 20:56Speaker 1: going to get a sixth round pick or a seventh
- 20:59Speaker 1: round pick, and that's nearly the value. Those are more
- 21:02Speaker 1: of the crapshoots and long shot prospects. So barring johsh
- 21:07Speaker 1: Schneider getting into his Hall of twelve draft picks in
- 21:10Speaker 1: a much stronger draft next year, which it seems like
- 21:12Speaker 1: he's not willing to do, barring them trading a player,
- 21:16Speaker 1: which why at this point would you trade a player
- 21:18Speaker 1: from a roster just won the Super Bowl and has
- 21:20Speaker 1: the chemistry and the culture that exactly what Mike McDonell wants.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Barring those two things, it looks like they're going to
- 21:26Speaker 1: end up with four picks four nine, four five on
- 21:28Speaker 1: coming down check say what do you want them to
- 21:30Speaker 1: do with these last three picks? Chris? What do you
- 21:32Speaker 1: want them to do with these last three picks?
- 21:33Speaker 3: I think now's the opportunity to take a big man
- 21:36Speaker 3: D line. You'll probably get edge.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I reckon in that.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Make sure that's exactly where we want to be because
- 21:42Speaker 3: last season, four man rush and pressure, that was my
- 21:47Speaker 3: McDonald's specialty and didn't need to blitz, did not need
- 21:49Speaker 3: the blitz at all. So they can keep that going
- 21:51Speaker 3: by bringing in another young edge rusher. I think that'd
- 21:53Speaker 3: be perfect. And then you got to get a corner.
- 21:55Speaker 3: You'll probably know with two maybe maybe two edged rushers
- 21:58Speaker 3: and a corner or two corners and one edge rusher
- 22:01Speaker 3: either or I think that's kind of the boat they're
- 22:03Speaker 3: in now, or maybe even the safety if you want
- 22:05Speaker 3: so a dB. Let's just narrow it down. You can
- 22:08Speaker 3: get a cornerback and a safety in an edge. I
- 22:10Speaker 3: think that would be that would be good for the Seahawks.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Tighten up that defense because right now you found your
- 22:16Speaker 3: running back.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Great.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Now let's see if you can fill some holes in
- 22:20Speaker 3: the secondary. Get some competition going, see who wins that
- 22:23Speaker 3: job you got Josh job, who's going to start? Tylecott
- 22:26Speaker 3: is probably gonna get opportunity to start as well. So
- 22:28Speaker 3: what does that other cornerspot look like?
- 22:30Speaker 2: Not Rewoling?
- 22:31Speaker 3: Excuse me, Devin Witherspoon, he's plays nickel. Could he actually
- 22:33Speaker 3: now just be a strict corner? So there's a lot
- 22:36Speaker 3: of room and growth there. Niamiah Pritchett, a guy that's
- 22:38Speaker 3: going into I believe his fourth season now is it third,
- 22:42Speaker 3: So he's going to his third season, So this is
- 22:44Speaker 3: the opportunity for him to prove that he is ready
- 22:46Speaker 3: for it. But I would imagine they're gonna go d
- 22:48Speaker 3: be an edge for their next three picks.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Pritchell's gonna have a big say and how much if
- 22:53Speaker 1: he's the third in the rotation. It seems like McDonald
- 22:55Speaker 1: wants to run it back with the rotation of corners,
- 22:58Speaker 1: some playing inside, some playing out, some blit saying run support,
- 23:01Speaker 1: guys moving witherspoon in and out, and I believe cornerback
- 23:05Speaker 1: is their next pick. What's interesting about yesterday's first round
- 23:08Speaker 1: of the cornerbacks, They've been pushed down. The top ones
- 23:10Speaker 1: has been pushed down. Colton Hood didn't get selected out
- 23:13Speaker 1: of Tennessee. Most people thought he was a first round pick.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Jamal McCoy, we talked about him yesterday with the potential
- 23:19Speaker 1: for a second knee surgery that scared a lot of
- 23:22Speaker 1: teams off. A lot of people think he's a top
- 23:24Speaker 1: twelve talent, but not drafted. He's still available until round
- 23:27Speaker 1: two with medical questions. The only two running cornerbacks taken
- 23:32Speaker 1: yesterday mansword Delanne was taken relatively higher, higher than some
- 23:36Speaker 1: people thought. But that shows the value of the position.
- 23:39Speaker 1: And he was the first cornerback taking and then they
- 23:41Speaker 1: went a long time, I mean Delayne went sixth to
- 23:44Speaker 1: the Chiefs after they traded up with the Browns, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: then Chris Johnson San Diego St. Twenty seven. They went
- 23:50Speaker 1: twenty one picks between corners. The only two corners went yesterday.
- 23:54Speaker 1: So my guy, I've been talking about it for a while,
- 23:59Speaker 1: is still absolutely play here. Brandon cec from South Carolina
- 24:02Speaker 1: the cornerback because Hood hasn't been taken, because McCoy hasn't
- 24:05Speaker 1: been taken, because a lot of these other corners haven't
- 24:07Speaker 1: been taken. That's pushing cc down toward the sea, down
- 24:10Speaker 1: to sixty four. That's a trick. I don't know. He
- 24:14Speaker 1: ain't last that long. A lot of people don't think.
- 24:16Speaker 1: So what do you think I have him mocked in
- 24:18Speaker 1: the beginning of this draft to be lasting that long? Okay, gotcha,
- 24:21Speaker 1: that's somewhat wishful thinking, I believe. But the fact that
- 24:24Speaker 1: the draft has broken the way it has helps the
- 24:27Speaker 1: possibility of them doing that. I agree with you on
- 24:30Speaker 1: edge rusher. I think that is a priority for McDonald
- 24:32Speaker 1: to stack as many of those dudes as he can.
- 24:34Speaker 1: He wants multiplicity, he wants waves, he wants freshness. Remember
- 24:38Speaker 1: the lost boy Mafy to the twenty million dollars a
- 24:41Speaker 1: year deal from Cincinnati last month in free agency. People
- 24:44Speaker 1: are not realizing that Derek Hall is suddenly in the
- 24:47Speaker 1: last year of his contract and re upping second year
- 24:50Speaker 1: second contracts for edge rushers is very expensive, very expensive,
- 24:54Speaker 1: And just saw twenty million a year for boy you
- 25:00Speaker 1: couldn't even stay on the field for three downs with
- 25:02Speaker 1: this team. Hey, he's gonna be the number one guy
- 25:03Speaker 1: over there, that's for sure, right, Yeah, he's the new one.
- 25:06Speaker 3: He went from you know, you get in there, we
- 25:09Speaker 3: need you to finish. But you get there and now
- 25:11Speaker 3: is like, oh I am the guy.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the new Hendrickson in Cincinnati all of a sudden.
- 25:16Speaker 1: But that shows you how much costs that. So that's
- 25:18Speaker 1: not a sure slam dunk that Derek Hall is going
- 25:20Speaker 1: to be back next year. So I do think edge
- 25:22Speaker 1: rusher is a priority. Maybe that there's the next pick
- 25:25Speaker 1: off the board, but they've lost their buying power to
- 25:27Speaker 1: move up in the second round and have a higher
- 25:29Speaker 1: pick than sixty four. I still got big Citrus on them.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I'd love that nickname for Dominique Orange.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Speaking of names, Big Citrus.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Big Citrus. You talk about loyalty Chris and what Jedari
- 25:42Speaker 1: and Price did to stay at Notre Dame as a
- 25:44Speaker 1: backup to Jeremiah Love, listen to what big Orange, Dominic Orange,
- 25:49Speaker 1: Dominic Orris, big Citrus three hundred and seventy plus pound,
- 25:52Speaker 1: and that's probably being generous. He is a man eating
- 25:56Speaker 1: nose tackle. He doesn't rush to passer much. He didn't
- 25:58Speaker 1: have many sacks at Iowa State. He just devoured ball
- 26:01Speaker 1: carriers and run blockers. He stayed in ames Iowy. He's
- 26:05Speaker 1: from North Kansas City, Missouri. Dominic Orange, and he stayed
- 26:09Speaker 1: all four years and played all the seasons at Iowa State,
- 26:12Speaker 1: even though he says he was offered millions of dollars
- 26:14Speaker 1: to go elsewhere, and he stayed in ames Iowa. I
- 26:18Speaker 1: am from the midwest, Chris, Iowa City, beautiful campus with
- 26:22Speaker 1: the University Iowas Ames Iowa. Not so much a lot
- 26:26Speaker 1: of silos in ames Iowa. So for him to stay
- 26:31Speaker 1: in the loyalty for that, you can bet the Seahawks
- 26:34Speaker 1: are aware of Dominic Orange. I have them marked to
- 26:37Speaker 1: pick him in the third round, the bottom of the
- 26:38Speaker 1: third round today.
- 26:39Speaker 2: It might be your day, Greg, might be your dad.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I don't know. I just you end up rooting for
- 26:44Speaker 1: guys when you hear their backstories like that. Oh big s,
- 26:46Speaker 1: that'd be somebody fun to cover. I'm next. What in
- 26:51Speaker 1: the name of John Haitl was going on in the
- 26:54Speaker 1: Rams and the quarterback situation yesterday? Sean mcvayh wants to
- 26:58Speaker 1: know that. I wish we could show on radio what
- 27:01Speaker 1: Sean McVay looked like after they picked hy Simpson. You'll
- 27:05Speaker 1: hear from Sean McVay. We'll explain that situation. Next eleven o'clock.
- 27:09Speaker 1: The high school coach for Jadarian Price from Dennison, Texas,
- 27:13Speaker 1: will join us live on the phone from North Texas.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Tons more to come here in a Draft Day two
- 27:18Speaker 1: on ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 27:21Speaker 7: Now back to Greg Bell and Christopher Kidd on your
- 27:24Speaker 7: home for the Huskies Cracket and the twelfth Man Sports
- 27:28Speaker 7: Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Welcome back, Happy Friday to you, beautiful day here in
- 27:43Speaker 1: the Pacific Northwest Day two of the NFL Draft. Darien
- 27:47Speaker 1: Price the Darian Price running back from Notre Dame. The
- 27:50Speaker 1: Seahawks number one pick thirty second overall. Last night. The
- 27:53Speaker 1: Seahawks have two picks in the draft, sixty four and
- 27:55Speaker 1: ninety six. Second round begins at pick thirty three at
- 28:00Speaker 1: four pm. Seahawks time the draft probably around six o'clock
- 28:05Speaker 1: or so tonight, and then round three probably around eight
- 28:09Speaker 1: o'clock or so. The end of round three at ninety six,
- 28:12Speaker 1: did you catch what happened yesterday between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
- 28:17Speaker 1: The Steelers are on the phone talking to Mackay Lamb
- 28:20Speaker 1: and the wide receiver from USC to make them the
- 28:22Speaker 1: twentieth pick in the draft after the Rams. Everyone thought
- 28:25Speaker 1: the Rams were gonna take them, and they didn't. They
- 28:26Speaker 1: took Ty Simpson. We'll talk about that in a second.
- 28:30Speaker 1: While on the phone with the Steelers who were saying
- 28:33Speaker 1: we're about to pick you here at twenty, we're just
- 28:35Speaker 1: calling you. The Eagles made a trade and jumped in
- 28:39Speaker 1: front of the Steelers and took Lemon. This is how
- 28:42Speaker 1: it went down, what it sounded like. Here's what it
- 28:44Speaker 1: looked like from the player's point of view. Before we
- 28:46Speaker 1: discuss hold on, let's go, let's go. Hey, why Philly color?
- 29:04Speaker 1: That was mackay Lemon's agents. He was on the phone
- 29:07Speaker 1: with the Steelers and he said, why is Philly calling me?
- 29:11Speaker 1: And his agent goes, they just took you. They just
- 29:14Speaker 1: traded up and took you so and when you watch
- 29:18Speaker 1: it on the video, he just left. He just left.
- 29:22Speaker 1: The Steelers just hung him out. Didn't say goodbye or
- 29:24Speaker 1: anything did. He just hung up on him and he
- 29:27Speaker 1: talked to the Eagles and now he's a Philadelphia Eagle.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Another human story, the guy's dream coming true with Whiplastic
- 29:33Speaker 1: and he's in the AFC, Aaron Rodgers might be his
- 29:37Speaker 1: next quarterback and whips, oh now I'm in Philadelphia and
- 29:40Speaker 1: Jalen hurts, Okay. That was on one coast then the
- 29:45Speaker 1: other coast, seven picks earlier. Let's set the scene here.
- 29:50Speaker 1: First of all, Sean McVay, the Rams coach tight with
- 29:52Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford. Tight guy was very instrumental in getting Stafford
- 29:57Speaker 1: from the Detroit Lions and won a Super Bowl together
- 30:01Speaker 1: with that move got the Rams of Super Bowl a
- 30:03Speaker 1: few years ago, and at thirty eight years old, with
- 30:06Speaker 1: the back issues, Sean McVay has basically told Matthew Stafford,
- 30:09Speaker 1: you play as long as you want to play to
- 30:10Speaker 1: your sixty as long as you want to. Matthew Stafford,
- 30:12Speaker 1: you're our guy. The general manager for the Rams, Less
- 30:17Speaker 1: Snead is a native of Alabama. One of his good
- 30:21Speaker 1: friends is Ty Simpson's dad, who was a college coach
- 30:26Speaker 1: at U team in the Infishity Tennessee. Martin and less
- 30:30Speaker 1: Sneed last night picked Ty Simpson, his buddy's son. I
- 30:34Speaker 1: wish I could convey over radio the visuals of Sean
- 30:39Speaker 1: McVay as less Sneed was talking about to the media
- 30:42Speaker 1: about this pick last night, but I think we have
- 30:44Speaker 1: the audio of what Sehn you could just tell. Sean
- 30:48Speaker 1: McVay was saying this with his hand. He was seated
- 30:51Speaker 1: with his hands in his pocket, leaning back, ticked. He's
- 30:56Speaker 1: usually very colorful, very outspoken, and gli. This is what
- 31:01Speaker 1: Sean McVay sounded like last night when reporters were asking,
- 31:04Speaker 1: first of all, did you talk to Matthew Stafford about
- 31:07Speaker 1: picking his replacement Ty Simpson?
- 31:09Speaker 9: The thing he liked about the body of work is,
- 31:11Speaker 9: you know, let's make one thing clear, this is Matthew's team,
- 31:13Speaker 9: and you get a chance to be able to address
- 31:15Speaker 9: the backup quarterback.
- 31:16Speaker 1: You know, we've got Stetson.
- 31:18Speaker 9: We've talked about the importance of Jimmy, so to be
- 31:20Speaker 9: able to add somebody that you can evaluate a body
- 31:23Speaker 9: of work where he was asked to play the position
- 31:25Speaker 9: and a lot of things that do translate in terms
- 31:27Speaker 9: of concepts, reading with his feet, some of the different
- 31:30Speaker 9: things in the drop back, in the play action game,
- 31:32Speaker 9: the movement game. So there's a lot of things that
- 31:35Speaker 9: Coach Grubb did that's very similar to kind of how
- 31:37Speaker 9: we operate. So it made it an easier evaluation to
- 31:40Speaker 9: be able to kind of say, all right, what would
- 31:42Speaker 9: that look like if you did translate it to our level.
- 31:45Speaker 1: But there was a lot of players that we like.
- 31:48Speaker 1: That was a question of what do you do like
- 31:49Speaker 1: about Ty Simpson? There are a lot of players that
- 31:53Speaker 1: we liked. He was also asked, did you talk to
- 31:55Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford? He said, I did, what'd you tell him?
- 31:58Speaker 1: I'm going to leave that to ourselves, and literally there
- 32:02Speaker 1: was smoke coming out of his ears. He was so
- 32:04Speaker 1: upset because at thirteen, the Rams don't pick at thirteen, Chris,
- 32:10Speaker 1: they trade away their first round pick. Usually but they
- 32:13Speaker 1: don't usually they got this one, and you would think, Okay,
- 32:17Speaker 1: Matthew Stafford's thirty eight, you have a rare opportunity to
- 32:21Speaker 1: pick it thirteen. Let's get a top wide receiver, maybe
- 32:24Speaker 1: an offensive lineman, give some weapons to Stafford, and let's run.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Let's make a final push here before he came pick anymore.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Yeah, kind of shocking, and I understood it, but also
- 32:34Speaker 3: like you want to win it all.
- 32:35Speaker 2: You could have easily gotten kayle Lemon. He was there,
- 32:37Speaker 2: he was available. Yeah, that's what I thought they were
- 32:39Speaker 2: going to do.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Add him to that nasty duo of DeVante Adams and
- 32:45Speaker 3: Poka Nukua. They lost to to Otwell, who was kind
- 32:48Speaker 3: of there. Hey, we just throw it up and he
- 32:50Speaker 3: comes down with it. He got hurt last year, obviously,
- 32:52Speaker 3: so he did a lot of playing time. But I
- 32:55Speaker 3: thought Makaylemon would have been like, oh my gosh, see,
- 32:56Speaker 3: how's gonna have fun with this?
- 32:58Speaker 1: Right?
- 32:58Speaker 3: You know, it'd be a great game yet, because they're
- 33:00Speaker 3: buying a really good wide receiver that can do a
- 33:02Speaker 3: little bit of everything, and then they're looking for the
- 33:05Speaker 3: future and quarterback and I don't know.
- 33:07Speaker 1: If Layaway, Yeah, I mean he's not starting this year.
- 33:11Speaker 1: He's a way away play. Layaway plans you do second.
- 33:13Speaker 2: Third round with their fourth quarterback now on the roster.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Jimmy Garoppol is still around, he messaged Stepson. So yeah,
- 33:19Speaker 1: that's it's kind of crazy. I don't know that's in.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Bennett is currently their backup because a veteran's twenty eight
- 33:25Speaker 1: years old.
- 33:26Speaker 3: How you that conversation went between those two, They last
- 33:29Speaker 3: a few hours of him. Just Sean McVay like, why
- 33:32Speaker 3: would you like the process? Sure, but we have three
- 33:35Speaker 3: quarterbacks and you.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't. But layaway pick maybe thirty second, maybe
- 33:42Speaker 1: second third round. Maybe if you just won the Super Bowl,
- 33:44Speaker 1: you pick the lay quarterback quarterback. But still you pick
- 33:47Speaker 1: your long term replacement quarterback when you're in that situation.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Get a thirteenth next year, the better draft you could
- 33:53Speaker 2: have waited. Right, he's not gonna play anyway, He's really
- 33:57Speaker 2: not gonna play. He would need three quarterbacks to get hurt.
- 34:00Speaker 1: They could have gotten Kenyon Sadiq, the tight end, the
- 34:03Speaker 1: number one Rady tight end from Oregon. They could have
- 34:06Speaker 1: gotten Casey's conceptci Owned who went twenty fourth to the Browns. Man.
- 34:10Speaker 1: They could have gotten mkyk Lemon backyard usc guy that
- 34:13Speaker 1: everyone thought they were gonna take anyway I.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Talked, could have added to their nasty D line and
- 34:18Speaker 3: just I don't know a bunch of things they could
- 34:20Speaker 3: have done. Blake linebacker, offensive tackle, bro Blick, Miller, Reguez,
- 34:27Speaker 3: the best guard Vega iote he could have had him.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Let's just say this could be Sean mcvay's last two seasons, Yes,
- 34:35Speaker 3: two seasons. Like, I don't know how long he wants
- 34:37Speaker 3: to put up with. I got four years of this kid,
- 34:40Speaker 3: assuming Jimmy g retires. You know, Stetson never works out Matthews.
- 34:44Speaker 1: He's looking at Stetson, Bennett or Ty Simpson as his
- 34:47Speaker 1: future post Matthew.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Stafford doesn't scream a lot of wins coming out.
- 34:51Speaker 6: See ya.
- 34:52Speaker 1: He's gonna go on the same train and same plane
- 34:54Speaker 1: out of lax As as Stafford. Yeah, the riding might
- 34:58Speaker 1: be on the wall.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I mean, you have to win it all next week,
- 35:02Speaker 3: Yeah you do. There's just no way. You don't want
- 35:05Speaker 3: to lose and then come back and like, well, Matthew,
- 35:07Speaker 3: we but it would have have been a little easier
- 35:10Speaker 3: had they gotten another weapon or two at the thirteen.
- 35:12Speaker 3: For how much does DeVante have left after this up.
- 35:15Speaker 3: He's in the last year of his contract. He's thirty
- 35:17Speaker 3: four years old.
- 35:18Speaker 2: He's my age.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Good God, playing football that long, It's that's tough.
- 35:24Speaker 1: It was a lot of people in Seattle probably chuckling,
- 35:27Speaker 1: but the tried Centon pick was somewhat of a trickle
- 35:29Speaker 1: down effective of the Seahawks not being able to trade
- 35:31Speaker 1: down him either, and probably with four picks at the
- 35:33Speaker 1: end of the weekend. But you go. If you haven't
- 35:36Speaker 1: seen it, go to the video of Sean mcvay's reaction
- 35:41Speaker 1: to Tysi.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Then retweet on the KJR account thank you.
- 35:44Speaker 1: It's it's just it's hard to see steam coming out
- 35:48Speaker 1: of someone's ears visually, but you can see it coming
- 35:50Speaker 1: out of his ears. I'm next. We're going to North
- 35:53Speaker 1: Texas a high school coach for the Darian Price the
- 35:58Speaker 1: new Seahawks running got your first. I picked Brett Whitson,
- 36:01Speaker 1: will talk us talk to us on the phone from
- 36:03Speaker 1: North Texas. Thanks to Christopher Kidd coming up next to
