- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's variety Big ninety eight point seven. It's gave an Angie.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Mostly sunny today with a high of fifty five. I
- 0:06Speaker 1: love that, all right, Angie. We started doing this yesterday.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I want to keep doing this here today. It's a
- 0:12Speaker 1: fun way to start off the show. A small victory
- 0:16Speaker 1: from yesterday. These don't have to be big, giant, major things.
- 0:19Speaker 1: And we always encourage you to text us to give
- 0:21Speaker 1: us call seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 0:24Speaker 1: eight seven with a small victory from yesterday. And we
- 0:28Speaker 1: do have one from Monica that I'll share in just
- 0:30Speaker 1: a little bit, Anjie, what was a small victory from
- 0:33Speaker 1: you yesterday?
- 0:34Speaker 2: I didn't poop my pants.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I know I felt violent, let's say common problem. I'm
- 0:42Speaker 3: a bit confused why this would be a victory.
- 0:43Speaker 4: No, I felt violently ill yesterday, but it just like
- 0:48Speaker 4: an all of a sudden onset. I just started sweating
- 0:51Speaker 4: and my stomach started hurting, and I thought.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Oh no, I need to get to the bathroom.
- 0:57Speaker 4: And I had to run from downstairs in my house
- 1:00Speaker 4: all the way upstairs because there I had a child
- 1:04Speaker 4: in the downstairs bathroom.
- 1:06Speaker 3: And I made.
- 1:06Speaker 2: It, I mean, but just in time.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I made it so I didn't poop my pants, and
- 1:11Speaker 4: that's a small victory.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Do you live in like a Bill Gates size mansion
- 1:15Speaker 1: to where you have.
- 1:16Speaker 3: To run that far? I am just a slow runner.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Are you living I need to come visit you got
- 1:22Speaker 3: a complex or.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Now or just at a split level. But I am
- 1:26Speaker 4: not the fastest runner. Stairs are my enemy. Okay, and yeah, right,
- 1:30Speaker 4: but I didn't hoot my pants, and I feel like
- 1:33Speaker 4: that is a small victory.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Thank you, very small victory. I'm very happy for you.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I have a small victory as well. This wouldn't necessarily
- 1:39Speaker 1: be from one day, but kind of an accumulation of
- 1:41Speaker 1: a couple of days. But yesterday it was the first
- 1:43Speaker 1: day I really noticed it. Okay, So if you don't
- 1:46Speaker 1: know this about me, I suffer from psariasis. I get
- 1:48Speaker 1: red patches. It's obviously the most I guess severe in
- 1:53Speaker 1: the winter when it's dry and kind of calls right,
- 1:56Speaker 1: well for the past I don't know month or so,
- 1:59Speaker 1: I've I don't have like a routine. I'm not saying
- 2:02Speaker 1: I do that, but I do have this lotion that
- 2:06Speaker 1: is supposed to help a lot of people. It's not
- 2:08Speaker 1: going to obviously completely go away but it helps a lot. Yeah,
- 2:11Speaker 1: And I've been applying this a lot more regularly and
- 2:15Speaker 1: it has really helped. And yesterday I kind of noticed
- 2:17Speaker 1: for the first time in a long time. Oh man,
- 2:19Speaker 1: I don't really have a giant like red patches on
- 2:22Speaker 1: my face or what have you.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Gabe, that's great. Consistency is key. That's a great.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Victory, very very cool. Good small victory.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Not that and I kind of don't care, you know,
- 2:31Speaker 1: at this point in my life, it doesn't matter, but
- 2:33Speaker 1: it is nice, yeah, when they are gone. So that
- 2:36Speaker 1: was my small victory yesterday looked in the mirror and
- 2:38Speaker 1: didn't notice some red patches in the middle of my
- 2:41Speaker 1: forehead and on my elbows and like that.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Also, big shout out to Monica.
- 2:46Speaker 1: She texted us and she said, Hey, yesterday, I heard
- 2:48Speaker 1: you guys did do small victories early in the morning,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and I just wanted to chime in with a small
- 2:53Speaker 1: victory of myself. She said, I've been really working on
- 2:55Speaker 1: reducing stress for the past month and for a good
- 2:58Speaker 1: chunk of twenty twenty five, and yesterday, she went on
- 3:02Speaker 1: to say, I felt like it's starting to really apply
- 3:05Speaker 1: to her day to day life and her stress levels.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Have gone down.
- 3:08Speaker 1: So a big shout out to Monica in West Fargo.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Thank you Monica for chiming in, and we always encourage
- 3:14Speaker 1: you to chime in with those small victories. We love
- 3:16Speaker 1: hearing about those here on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Today's Variety, Big ninety eight point seven.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It's Gabe and Angie, Sonny and fifty five today. All right, Angie,
- 3:28Speaker 1: there was a recent study that came out and it's
- 3:31Speaker 1: about TSA pre check.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Oh gosh, and is it worth it?
- 3:36Speaker 1: It turns out if you spend I think you buy
- 3:39Speaker 1: like a pass or whatever for the year for it's
- 3:42Speaker 1: like eighty to one hundred bucks or something like that. Yeah,
- 3:45Speaker 1: they found out it saves you an average of seven minutes.
- 3:50Speaker 3: So that's it.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah, So instead of getting to the airport like an
- 3:54Speaker 1: hour two hours early, or an hour and forty five
- 3:57Speaker 1: minutes early, you can get there like an hour.
- 4:00Speaker 3: We're in forty minutes early.
- 4:02Speaker 4: See. I love this information because I never opt to
- 4:07Speaker 4: get the TSA pre check. I swear, as soon as
- 4:09Speaker 4: you're at the airport, then the phone is listening and
- 4:12Speaker 4: then all these links pop up like get TSA PreCheck,
- 4:14Speaker 4: And I never do it because I am cheap, and
- 4:18Speaker 4: so this is great news.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Okay, I'm curious, are there things or is there something
- 4:24Speaker 1: that you spent extra money on, and or maybe you
- 4:30Speaker 1: continuously spend extra money on and you're just like, you know,
- 4:32Speaker 1: this really isn't worth it. I'll just wait the extra
- 4:35Speaker 1: few minutes. I'll save the extra couple dollars. Yeah, no,
- 4:38Speaker 1: one expensive one isn't that bad.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I it's always with Okay, I just said I'm cheap,
- 4:44Speaker 4: but I'm also lazy in that. A lot of times
- 4:47Speaker 4: I just order food like door Dash or Uber Eats
- 4:50Speaker 4: or whatever because I don't want to go out and
- 4:52Speaker 4: get it.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm very guilty of that.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and so they already tack on so many fees.
- 4:58Speaker 4: But there was a time where I would hit the like,
- 5:01Speaker 4: you pay an extra three bucks or something for direct
- 5:04Speaker 4: delivery to you so your dasher won't stop at some
- 5:09Speaker 4: other location to pick up another meal or whatever. Right,
- 5:12Speaker 4: And let me tell you, after doing it a handful
- 5:15Speaker 4: of times, it does not make a difference.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Really, it doesn't make it.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Ever done it, I think maybe if I was going
- 5:21Speaker 4: to try and get ice cream, maybe I would do
- 5:24Speaker 4: it like in case it melts or whatever. But other
- 5:27Speaker 4: than that, it genuinely is just a waste of money
- 5:32Speaker 4: to go oh direct to me, because also I don't
- 5:35Speaker 4: know if they even care about that, Like they could
- 5:38Speaker 4: just stop if they feel like it.
- 5:39Speaker 3: So yeah, nothing stopping them from the car over ice exactly.
- 5:43Speaker 4: So that's a waste of money.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 5:46Speaker 3: I've never done that. I'm glad you shared that with
- 5:48Speaker 3: me this morning, so now I know to just avoid that.
- 5:51Speaker 3: One thing that I I am not the biggest fan
- 5:55Speaker 3: of spending extra money on is and I'm not hating
- 6:01Speaker 3: on people to do this, but it's desserts. Wait what, Yeah,
- 6:05Speaker 3: I do. I don't. I'm not a sweet tooth person.
- 6:08Speaker 1: So if you're like out to eat and it's like, oh,
- 6:10Speaker 1: do you want the extra cake at the end, or
- 6:12Speaker 1: do you want to try the whatever? If you like
- 6:14Speaker 1: those things, buy them. But I don't ever think like,
- 6:18Speaker 1: oh this, you know this really was worth the extra
- 6:20Speaker 1: twelve dollars.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Gosh, we are such opposite people. Not only will I
- 6:24Speaker 4: order dessert, I'm not sharing.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, my wife orders it first, so we get cake
- 6:31Speaker 1: and cookies and ice cream before my pasta comes out.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Today's Variety Big ninety eight point seven Sonny and fifty five.
- 6:41Speaker 3: It's Gabe and Ang this morning.
- 6:45Speaker 4: The day started like any other day, Gabe.
- 6:48Speaker 3: We did a show, we were.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Prepping afterwards, we jumped on a call with our boss
- 6:54Speaker 4: to discuss how the day went. And then the most
- 6:58Speaker 4: terrifying ex experience of my life occurred, and it was as.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Though you didn't even care.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Gabe, Here's what I'll say, deep down in my soul,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I'm sorry that that happened, but there was part of
- 7:15Speaker 1: me that couldn't have cared less. Now maybe down the road, wow,
- 7:19Speaker 1: I will work on that. I did not know that
- 7:21Speaker 1: this was such a big deal for you, So had
- 7:24Speaker 1: I not been shocked with your reaction, maybe I could
- 7:27Speaker 1: have reacted a little better.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I appreciate the same, Kinder.
- 7:30Speaker 4: I appreciate you saying that. Now we have in the studio,
- 7:34Speaker 4: we have this glorious big window that we get to
- 7:38Speaker 4: look out multiple yeah, multiple, but this one is you know,
- 7:43Speaker 4: prime view, so we can see the weather, we can
- 7:46Speaker 4: see little jack rabbits, not that little, but it's a
- 7:51Speaker 4: very nice view of nature. And the position I was
- 7:54Speaker 4: sitting in in my chair, I was just aimed looking
- 7:58Speaker 4: towards this window as we were having this call with
- 8:01Speaker 4: our boss, when all of a sudden, and it happened
- 8:05Speaker 4: so quickly, the largest, I mean, maybe it should have
- 8:10Speaker 4: gone on a diet, fattest black crow dive bombed straight
- 8:17Speaker 4: into the glass with like the thud was deafening. There
- 8:23Speaker 4: was blood and feathers that flew off, and it just,
- 8:28Speaker 4: I mean, it took me by surprise. You definitely seemed surprised.
- 8:33Speaker 4: But this is I before I knew, it was across
- 8:36Speaker 4: the studio by the wall, hovered in a corner, crying
- 8:40Speaker 4: and like breathing, really, and you didn't.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Know what was happening.
- 8:48Speaker 4: And the thing is, I'm deathly afraid of birds, Gabe.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I did not know this from ornithophobia, which is a
- 8:57Speaker 4: very real thing, and people when they find out, they
- 8:59Speaker 4: insist on saying me pictures of birds, and it's very rude.
- 9:03Speaker 4: But I'm really terrified of birds. And so seeing this
- 9:07Speaker 4: huge black crow just ah and slam into the window
- 9:12Speaker 4: was the most terrifying experience of my life thus far.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It went face first. And when I say, I was
- 9:20Speaker 1: looking that direction in the studio, which would be north
- 9:23Speaker 1: for anyone who wants to know, I was looking out
- 9:25Speaker 1: our north window and this thing flew into our window
- 9:30Speaker 1: and it was like slow motion in a movie, that
- 9:34Speaker 1: giant thud. And then Angie went into obviously a very
- 9:38Speaker 1: big fight or flight mode.
- 9:40Speaker 3: And I'll tell you what she was, irony. She was
- 9:44Speaker 3: flighting out of here. It was terrifying.
- 9:47Speaker 1: And of course I walk over to the window, like
- 9:49Speaker 1: this thing dead, No bit just kind of hopped along
- 9:51Speaker 1: and kept going on its merry way.
- 9:53Speaker 4: So that's what makes it more terrifying. Gabe, that should
- 9:56Speaker 4: have taken that bird out. He's out there still.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Today's variety Big ninety eight.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Point seven, gonna be a great day today, some sunshine
- 10:07Speaker 5: and Hia fifty five.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Yesterday I took a little trip down memory lane. We
- 10:11Speaker 1: have talked a lot about trips down memory Lane today,
- 10:13Speaker 1: very nostalgic program. I wanted to know, is there a
- 10:17Speaker 1: product that you wish would come back that is kind
- 10:21Speaker 1: of sort of retired. My buddy and I were talking
- 10:23Speaker 1: about old video games we used to play when we
- 10:26Speaker 1: were young.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Okay, I grew up playing Sonic the Hedgehog on a
- 10:29Speaker 3: Sega with my mom. Loved Sega great greatest thing ever.
- 10:34Speaker 5: That was kind of mine. I never got into Super Nintendo.
- 10:37Speaker 5: I went from like Nintendo to the Sega and that.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Was just, oh gosh, it was fun.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And it turns out more than half of us here
- 10:45Speaker 1: in America say that retired products are more important to
- 10:49Speaker 1: us than anything that current brands offer. Over fifty percent
- 10:54Speaker 1: of Americans think that.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Really.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yeah, So I was curious this morning, is there a brand,
- 10:59Speaker 1: Is there a product that you wish would make a comeback?
- 11:02Speaker 1: And I don't mean to come back as in like,
- 11:04Speaker 1: oh that was really fun for a day or two,
- 11:06Speaker 1: I mean a comeback to pop culture.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Gosh.
- 11:10Speaker 5: I So the first thing that came to my mind
- 11:12Speaker 5: when you were talking about like a throwback like something
- 11:16Speaker 5: was this drink.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Do you remember the drink Orbits?
- 11:19Speaker 3: I don't know if I do, I can google it.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Because like right now, everybody's thinking of the gum or
- 11:24Speaker 5: There was, of course surge, there was all those just
- 11:26Speaker 5: disgusting drinks. But there is a drink called Orbits that
- 11:30Speaker 5: had the little beans in it.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Do you remember this? Yes?
- 11:34Speaker 2: I do, yeah, And this is so disgusting.
- 11:36Speaker 5: But I would drink the Orbits, but I would keep
- 11:39Speaker 5: those little beads sure in the jar and then fill
- 11:43Speaker 5: it with water, and then I would put them around
- 11:45Speaker 5: my room because I didn't have a lava lamp, so
- 11:48Speaker 5: that was like as cool, like little floaty things in
- 11:51Speaker 5: my room.
- 11:52Speaker 2: But just like back to your old bedroom.
- 11:55Speaker 5: I'm going off the rails for a second, but I
- 11:57Speaker 5: think about it, like the old balloons that gut or
- 12:00Speaker 5: would get you, or like a friend for your birthday,
- 12:03Speaker 5: dried up flowers apparently, use the little beads from a drink.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Just gross your old your own a do it yourself
- 12:11Speaker 1: a decore back. Oh gosh, that's something you don't see
- 12:14Speaker 1: a ton of either. Speaking of beads, you know people
- 12:16Speaker 1: who had beads hanging from their door and hanging down.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I never see that anymore.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Yeah, you there used to be a section ads and
- 12:22Speaker 5: maybe they still do it like Claire's or I remember
- 12:24Speaker 5: in DL Fashion Bug.
- 12:26Speaker 2: So just all of it, the really cool like phones
- 12:29Speaker 2: and yeah you have like.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Your own little area in your room that like space
- 12:34Speaker 5: where you would three way call your friends. Yeah, I
- 12:36Speaker 5: feel like kids don't have. And now it's like, okay,
- 12:38Speaker 5: you have your bedroom and your cell phone and it's
- 12:40Speaker 5: right there.
- 12:40Speaker 2: You didn't really get.
- 12:41Speaker 3: To have that.
- 12:42Speaker 1: You have your iPad and all the decorations. Your room
- 12:45Speaker 1: is actually decorated on your iPad. Your virtual room is
- 12:48Speaker 1: about all that ghost you know what I wish would
- 12:51Speaker 1: make a comeback. That's hilarious and this and this is
- 12:54Speaker 1: sort of strange. I don't know if anyone would agree
- 12:56Speaker 1: with this, but I wish that yo Yo's would make
- 13:00Speaker 1: a comeback. I remember in first grade we had this
- 13:03Speaker 1: guy come and it was like a I don't know presentation,
- 13:07Speaker 1: and the entire elementary school sat in the gym and
- 13:10Speaker 1: this dude was the most amazing would it be yo yoist?
- 13:16Speaker 1: I'll go yo yoo, YoY yo yoa yeah, I've ever
- 13:20Speaker 1: seen and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
- 13:22Speaker 1: So I went through a little phase of learning to
- 13:25Speaker 1: do tricks well yo yo Yeah. I feel like that
- 13:28Speaker 1: was the original fidget spinner for a first grader with
- 13:31Speaker 1: just incredible eighty HD.
- 13:33Speaker 5: My kids got one recently in something sure, and we tried,
- 13:36Speaker 5: but it was so bad, Like it was like a
- 13:38Speaker 5: little plastic one. Yeah one you could even put your
- 13:40Speaker 5: finger in and try to do that, but do you
- 13:42Speaker 5: remember always wanting a slinky?
- 13:44Speaker 2: But then they get all jacked up.
- 13:46Speaker 5: But they were so great, but then you'd just get
- 13:50Speaker 5: so mad because they'd last five seconds.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Yeah, they weren't unless you had like a real heavy
- 13:55Speaker 1: duty metal one. The little plastic ones would go down
- 13:58Speaker 1: the steps once and that was about it.
- 13:59Speaker 3: I do remember loving those trending Now here's what you
- 14:06Speaker 3: need to know.
- 14:08Speaker 2: She just could be coming to North Dakota schools.
- 14:10Speaker 5: As Governor Kelly Armstrong excuse me, looks at legislation requiring
- 14:15Speaker 5: student cell phones to be securely stored during the school day.
- 14:18Speaker 5: He did express yesterday his support for these two bills
- 14:20Speaker 5: that would ban cell phones in schools. I think the
- 14:23Speaker 5: argument right now is for me as a parent, I
- 14:26Speaker 5: don't see any reason you should have to have your
- 14:28Speaker 5: phone with you in a classroom. That is crazy to me.
- 14:31Speaker 5: It seems completely disrespectful. But does this need to be
- 14:36Speaker 5: governed by the government.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, man, is so passionate about this. You got choked
- 14:41Speaker 1: up reading the story. Give me all worked out. Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 5: I feel like it should be like through the schools,
- 14:47Speaker 5: they get to decide and monitor. But we were recently
- 14:50Speaker 5: talking about this game a few weeks ago because I
- 14:52Speaker 5: was shocked that this was even allowed.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I had no idea that.
- 14:55Speaker 5: This was even a thing, and a lot of teachers
- 14:57Speaker 5: chimed in anonymously saying if we he had to monitor
- 15:01Speaker 5: or take kids' phones or did this, would it'd be
- 15:04Speaker 5: a full time job. Yeah, even going as far as okay, yeah,
- 15:07Speaker 5: everybody lock them up in this thing. They're even arguing, well, yeah,
- 15:11Speaker 5: then what happens with the damage of their phone?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Who's responsible for that?
- 15:14Speaker 5: I mean, there's just so many layers to it, right,
- 15:16Speaker 5: and then for me, it just goes back to parenting.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, the government's stepping in for something as trivial as
- 15:22Speaker 1: a cell phone is weird. But if you know there's
- 15:24Speaker 1: no other there's no other choice, what can you do?
- 15:27Speaker 2: I guess and be on the lookout.
- 15:29Speaker 5: The Cast County Sheriff's office is putting out a warning
- 15:31Speaker 5: after a possible sighting of a bobcat or mountain lion
- 15:34Speaker 5: to totally different things. But I guess from a distance,
- 15:37Speaker 5: you probably wouldn't know I would be that. I would
- 15:40Speaker 5: probably be this person, So I'm not judging whoever called
- 15:43Speaker 5: this in. At six o'clock PM on Tuesday, it was
- 15:46Speaker 5: north of Horace near Deer Creek Parkway South. Scary just
- 15:50Speaker 5: because you know, you got kids, you got animals out
- 15:53Speaker 5: and about, and I know there's been spottings, yeah before.
- 15:58Speaker 1: But its kind of it's a thing, you know, when
- 16:02Speaker 1: you're out on a walk or you're with the kids
- 16:04Speaker 1: at the park or whatever, to kind of think there's
- 16:07Speaker 1: some bobcat or mountain lion, whatever sort of staring at
- 16:11Speaker 1: you through the trees. Is an uneasy feeling, very unsettling.
- 16:16Speaker 2: But I'm one of those people.
- 16:17Speaker 5: I just don't even think about something like this me either, ever,
- 16:20Speaker 5: And then if it were to happen to me, I
- 16:21Speaker 5: would I'd lose my mind. If I was just gonna say, deputies,
- 16:25Speaker 5: you say, if you do end up spotting this again,
- 16:28Speaker 5: notify them immediately so that way they can notify people
- 16:31Speaker 5: living in the area.
- 16:32Speaker 3: If there's a mountain lion or bobcat.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Listening to this program right now, I am the easiest
- 16:37Speaker 1: target you will ever have. I'm normally walking in my
- 16:41Speaker 1: own little world with my headphones on, listening to whatever
- 16:44Speaker 1: I'm listening to, just kind of troll da through the tulips.
- 16:48Speaker 3: So leave me alone, please, and leave my dog out
- 16:51Speaker 3: of it, all right?
- 16:52Speaker 2: All right? It is opening Day.
- 16:53Speaker 5: The Dodgers and the Cubs had two games in Japan
- 16:55Speaker 5: last week, but everybody else getting started today. The twins
- 16:58Speaker 5: are going to be taken own the Cardinals ten is
- 17:00Speaker 5: that game?
- 17:00Speaker 3: It's like, I think it's three thirty. I have a
- 17:02Speaker 3: couple check. I don't remember if that was Eastern time
- 17:04Speaker 3: or not, but it's I think it's three thirty, two
- 17:06Speaker 3: thirty something like that for me.
- 17:07Speaker 5: And now it officially feels like it is spring. We're
- 17:10Speaker 5: getting we're getting closer when Opening Day happens. It just
- 17:14Speaker 5: it's a vibe all the way around. And today it's
- 17:16Speaker 5: going to be nice sunshine and a high fifty five.
- 17:19Speaker 1: All right, we've got Gracie Abrams to get our eight
- 17:22Speaker 1: o'clock hour here started coming up.
- 17:24Speaker 3: And then, Amana, I have a question.
- 17:25Speaker 1: You can only pick one or the other for this,
- 17:29Speaker 1: and it involves your hair and a whole other part
- 17:33Speaker 1: of your your body. I guess I want to know
- 17:36Speaker 1: which one you're taking on a good day?
- 17:37Speaker 3: All right?
- 17:38Speaker 1: Up at eight eleven, Big ninety eight point seven, today's variety,
- 17:44Speaker 1: Big ninety eight point.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Seven sunshine today in a high fifty five?
- 17:48Speaker 1: Would you rather choose having great hair, full luscious locks
- 17:53Speaker 1: or just.
- 17:54Speaker 3: A rocking bod a man? And there's a reason I am,
- 17:56Speaker 3: oh boy, yeah, at a good hair day today.
- 18:00Speaker 5: See I throw on a hat these days ninety percent
- 18:03Speaker 5: of the time. So I think rock and dood would
- 18:06Speaker 5: maybe be Yeah, let's go rocking bad for guys.
- 18:11Speaker 1: There's one answer, and one answer only. There is no
- 18:15Speaker 1: dude who would not choose, you know, looking like Brad
- 18:17Speaker 1: Pitten Fight Club over having a solid head of hair.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Our hair is always naturally kind of just shorter than
- 18:22Speaker 1: most women's anyway, so it's not really part of our
- 18:25Speaker 1: Maybe when you're like sixty and you have a great
- 18:27Speaker 1: head of hair at something to kind of brag about.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a few people who have the Uncle Jesse drum,
- 18:32Speaker 5: you know what I mean? Yeah, for sure, touch it
- 18:34Speaker 5: got a full, lushless head, o bro.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I would much rather look like Chris Evans Captain America
- 18:40Speaker 1: and be thinning on top and just covered up.
- 18:43Speaker 3: With a hat or a whatever.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Why do you ask?
- 18:47Speaker 1: The reason I ask is it is good hair or
- 18:51Speaker 1: excuse me, it is a good hair day which has
- 18:53Speaker 1: been shortened to GHD. And this was a question that
- 18:57Speaker 1: was posed on the internet. Would you rather have good
- 19:01Speaker 1: hair or a rock and bod? And some people were
- 19:03Speaker 1: talking about the hair because it can make you feel fantastic,
- 19:07Speaker 1: it can instantly boost your confidence, which is something everyone
- 19:10Speaker 1: can use totally. And so I wanted to bring that
- 19:13Speaker 1: question to the front and center here big ninety eight
- 19:15Speaker 1: point seven. Well, I've failed that.
- 19:18Speaker 5: It's good hair day, haven't washed it in three days,
- 19:21Speaker 5: and I still have a ball cap on.
- 19:23Speaker 1: You know, I don't think you're the only one listening
- 19:25Speaker 1: who has also done that. Be honest with us seven
- 19:29Speaker 1: oh one two eight zero one nine eighty seven, call
- 19:31Speaker 1: us text us, let us know.
- 19:33Speaker 2: It's such a process.
- 19:34Speaker 5: So like today, I know, I'll wash my hair so
- 19:36Speaker 5: it'll be good through the weekend. You got to get
- 19:38Speaker 5: two day hair as the best. I mean, being a woman,
- 19:40Speaker 5: it's wild. And then you have well is it too
- 19:43Speaker 5: much dry shampoo on day three?
- 19:45Speaker 2: Can I do?
- 19:46Speaker 3: I'm here? What you have no idea? Here was my
- 19:48Speaker 3: big question for you.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Then what what do you think takes more effort or
- 19:53Speaker 1: more discipline having a rock and bod or having just
- 19:58Speaker 1: great hair because one of them is well, both can
- 20:00Speaker 1: be genetics, I guess kind of.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Oh, rock and Bud, could you have to like work
- 20:04Speaker 2: for it? Yeah?
- 20:06Speaker 1: But don't you have to do kind of things to
- 20:08Speaker 1: your hair every day to make it lush?
- 20:09Speaker 3: I don't know anything about hairs.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Actually, here's the sad reality.
- 20:12Speaker 5: If I were to just wake up and wash my hair,
- 20:14Speaker 5: it doesn't take that long, doesn't take long to blow dry.
- 20:17Speaker 5: I act like the process is forever, but I can
- 20:20Speaker 5: do it within twenty minutes. Yeah, you've knowed it down.
- 20:23Speaker 1: It seems so exhausting. The drummer on that song, his
- 20:30Speaker 1: name is Aaron Sterling. I think he kind of steals
- 20:33Speaker 1: some of the shine in that song. What a fantastic drummer.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I was in here jamming away. Today's Variety Big ninety
- 20:39Speaker 1: eight point sevens gave an Amanda.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Some air drums going on.
- 20:42Speaker 5: It is going to be a beautiful day today, some
- 20:44Speaker 5: sunshine and a high of fifty five. There are so
- 20:47Speaker 5: many things you see, excuse me, you see on TikTok,
- 20:51Speaker 5: and there is one that has gone viral and people
- 20:53Speaker 5: are now trying to do this, and I'm wondering if
- 20:55Speaker 5: there is any way that you you would I think
- 21:00Speaker 5: you could get away with it.
- 21:01Speaker 2: It's called the free breakfast hack.
- 21:03Speaker 5: And there is a woman who every single morning she
- 21:06Speaker 5: lives in a big city. Every single morning she goes
- 21:09Speaker 5: to a hotel, walks in as though she owns the
- 21:12Speaker 5: place and eats the complimentary breakfast every single day.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yes, wow, that I mean, I guess, you know, kudos
- 21:22Speaker 1: if you found a hack, you found a hack, I guess.
- 21:25Speaker 1: But I just feel like that's a lot of work.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I would just be paranoid.
- 21:29Speaker 5: Why would you put that kind of pressure on yourself
- 21:31Speaker 5: if it was a one off situation and you, you know,
- 21:35Speaker 5: wanted to try.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Eaving town or something, You're going to a different state.
- 21:38Speaker 5: But the fact that she does this and just loves it,
- 21:41Speaker 5: so in my mind, I'm like, Okay, how could you
- 21:43Speaker 5: do that without rolling in with begs yeah, kind of
- 21:47Speaker 5: acting like oh yeah, I'm just checking out, but hang on,
- 21:49Speaker 5: let me go ahead and grab my food really quick.
- 21:52Speaker 5: I think I would have to go the workout vibe,
- 21:55Speaker 5: like coming in acting like I just got done working out,
- 21:58Speaker 5: look at your phone, do not make eye contact with
- 22:01Speaker 5: the concierge or the person working the front desk, and
- 22:04Speaker 5: just kind of walk in, own it, grab a cup
- 22:06Speaker 5: of coffee, maybe make a little.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Circle of then go grab See.
- 22:08Speaker 5: The problem is, I actually thought about this, and I'm thinking,
- 22:11Speaker 5: could I get away with it?
- 22:13Speaker 1: Well, I need to know where Aman is staying at
- 22:15Speaker 1: a hotel with the concierge. Usually for me, the person
- 22:18Speaker 1: behind the front desk is some guy named Carl checking
- 22:21Speaker 1: in my bags?
- 22:24Speaker 3: Where are you saying?
- 22:26Speaker 1: What I would do is I would I would pretend
- 22:32Speaker 1: that I was just like there for work. Okay, if
- 22:37Speaker 1: you had maybe some kind of laptop bag briefcase scenario,
- 22:41Speaker 1: and you look somewhat put together in professional like you're.
- 22:44Speaker 5: Like a bluetooth in or something like it's a business
- 22:47Speaker 5: conversation going on.
- 22:48Speaker 1: You look like you're supposed to be there as opposed
- 22:50Speaker 1: to just like how I would normally walk in and
- 22:52Speaker 1: like a flannel in jeans. They'd be like, Oh, he's
- 22:54Speaker 1: going to the bar or something like that. Gotcha, But
- 22:58Speaker 1: I would That's how I would probably go about it,
- 22:59Speaker 1: because breakfast obviously earlier in the morning, you want to
- 23:03Speaker 1: look like you're staying there, and around there, you don't
- 23:07Speaker 1: want to look like you're loitering.
- 23:09Speaker 5: But I am gonna feel like I look suspicious no
- 23:12Speaker 5: matter what.
- 23:13Speaker 3: They'd read it right on your face.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Yes, I would be so anxious, and I just I
- 23:18Speaker 5: personally don't think I could do it.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yeah at all. My conscience wouldn't let me do this.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I'd also be way too lazy. I'd be like, can
- 23:25Speaker 1: I just drive to the McDonald's down the street.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I gotta find another hotel, but this is free. I'll
- 23:31Speaker 3: spend the eight bucks. I don't need the I don't
- 23:33Speaker 3: need the eight bucks. That today's variety big ninety eight
- 23:39Speaker 3: point seven.
- 23:39Speaker 2: You're gonna be a great day.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Get out and enjoy nothing but sunshine and a high
- 23:43Speaker 5: A fifty five.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Sign for games good news of the day. Here man,
- 23:48Speaker 1: and this is a beautiful story about an eighteen year
- 23:52Speaker 1: old boy named Zachary. I guess at eighteen you would
- 23:54Speaker 1: technically be an adult, so I could probably call him
- 23:56Speaker 1: an eighteen year old man here. But his name is Zachary,
- 23:59Speaker 1: and he had a wi that came true through Make
- 24:02Speaker 1: a Wish. It was a trip to see his favorite artist,
- 24:05Speaker 1: Jelly Roll. Zachary is living with a heart condition, cerebral palsy,
- 24:10Speaker 1: and he has an intellectual disability. Zachary traveled with his
- 24:13Speaker 1: family to Ottawa, of all places, for the concert, and
- 24:17Speaker 1: his mother says they were really happy and excited just
- 24:20Speaker 1: to attend the show.
- 24:21Speaker 3: That's what they thought. The Make a Wish was well.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Of course, they continued.
- 24:25Speaker 1: On and on the morning of the concert a surprise
- 24:28Speaker 1: encounter at breakfast set.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Something pretty cool in motion here.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Jelly Rolls bus driver overheard the family talking and took
- 24:37Speaker 1: steps to arrange backstage passes.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Wow.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:42Speaker 1: That afternoon, the teen and his family were invited behind
- 24:45Speaker 1: the scenes where they met singer Josh Ross and of
- 24:48Speaker 1: course jelly Roll himself.
- 24:50Speaker 3: You're strong, buddy, is what he said to him.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I gave Mahugner an emotional meetup and there once again
- 24:55Speaker 1: they thought it was all over.
- 24:57Speaker 3: That is not the case.
- 24:59Speaker 1: During the concert, Jelly Roll gave Zachary a ton of
- 25:02Speaker 1: shout outs. He dedicated the song save Me to him,
- 25:04Speaker 1: and then my god, he got the entire crowd to
- 25:08Speaker 1: join in chanting Zachary, and they both said it was
- 25:11Speaker 1: a dream come true for Zachary and obviously his mom,
- 25:14Speaker 1: for each.
- 25:15Speaker 3: And every one of us. So very very cool.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I know Jelly Roll does a lot of charity things
- 25:19Speaker 1: and just such a nice guy, good.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Guy, and that actually gave me goosebumps.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Yeah, you're kind of sitting there reading now, you got
- 25:28Speaker 3: tears in your eyes a little bit. Very awesome. Yeah,
- 25:31Speaker 3: so way to go, and good for jelly Roll, Happy
- 25:33Speaker 3: for Zachary as well. The world is full of nice people.
- 25:35Speaker 1: If you can't find one, you gotta be one.
