Transcript
- 0:00Smila Rahman, Rahim Salaam Alaikum, and welcome back to
- 0:03your favorite Shia Muslim podcast After Mara.
- 0:05It's a brand new week and that means we are having a brand new
- 0:09conversation and we are trying out something new, something
- 0:12we're going to call the Scholar Royale.
- 0:15So if you do enjoy today's episode, please let us know in
- 0:17the comments. And inshallah you never know,
- 0:19perhaps this becomes a regular feature here on After Maghrib.
- 0:23I am hosting this conversation alone.
- 0:25However, I am joined by two wonderful souls, 2 beautiful,
- 0:29amazing scholars who have both featured on After Maghrib
- 0:32before. And I do want to mention
- 0:34something. I'm the laughter.
- 0:35Maghrib has been blessed and privileged to invite over 90
- 0:38guests throughout the last three years on both the podcast and on
- 0:43June, a night of which forty of them have been a variety of
- 0:46different scholars, lecturers, and Alamar from all around the
- 0:50world. Scholars, we can't live without
- 0:52them. Scholars, we learn from them.
- 0:54And scholars to us are our spiritual guys, not just after
- 0:57Maghrib, but in the home and the community.
- 1:00They're all around the world. Now, the reason I mentioned all
- 1:04of this over the last 2 1/2 years after Maghrib gets
- 1:07numerous questions when it comes to the world of scholars, and we
- 1:09thought, let's give it a try and let's ask these questions
- 1:12directly to the scholars themselves, inshallah.
- 1:25I'll begin by introducing the amazing say that Muhammad Hassan
- 1:29Ashara all the way from the United States and the respected
- 1:32Sayed Ali Khali Sadatna Assalamu alaikum Muhammad Allah.
- 1:39I hope you're both well. Thank you for agreeing to come
- 1:42on today's episodes. How are you both?
- 1:45The honour is ours to be here serving and inshallah benefiting
- 1:50and hopefully taking care of the questions that you have for us
- 1:54and Inshallah benefiting from. Inshallah benefiting from the
- 1:59both of you. Last time we had John said we
- 2:00discussed Imam and Mehdi Ajal Allah, the Allah Farid al
- 2:04Sharif. And that's such an amazing,
- 2:05beautiful episode. And I still remember snippets
- 2:08from the advice and the words and gems that you shared on that
- 2:11episode. And I highly encourage the
- 2:12viewers at home to go and check out the episode as well as the
- 2:15recent episode we had who said Mohammed Hassan and Sharia where
- 2:17we discussed the solar, the Treaty of Imam al Hassan and
- 2:21Maawi. And we countered so much
- 2:22misconceptions that exist in both the Shiite and Sunni world
- 2:25when it comes to the peace treaty between the two Islamic
- 2:30figures. So now side that the reason
- 2:32behind today's conversation is that we we feel like there is a
- 2:37distance between community members and students, students
- 2:41of knowledge scholars or lama for Kaha when it comes to, you
- 2:45know, addressing certain things and matters that our viewers and
- 2:51our listeners have concerns or frustrations.
- 2:53And inshallah, the aim is to offer some clarity and answer
- 2:57these questions head to head with respected, friendly
- 3:00scholars whom we all we get along with very well.
- 3:03And the idea is that we split today's conversation in three
- 3:06different segments. If you allow me, I'll mention
- 3:09that just a few points before I start for the segments.
- 3:14Questions have been prepared by us after studying the needs and
- 3:17frustrations of the community we all serve.
- 3:21When we say scholars in today's episode, we are using a loose
- 3:24definition of Islamic speakers and Alama from the grassroots
- 3:28all the way to the top level. No question is directed to any
- 3:31particular individual or group whatsoever, and we have the
- 3:35immense respect for every Alama as well as the two respected
- 3:37guests here today and encourage people to support their work.
- 3:41And of course, it goes without saying, every question today
- 3:42requires an episode on its own, but inshallah, we'll do our best
- 3:46to make it as short and concise as possible.
- 3:49The three segments are looking at the relevancy, capability and
- 3:53adaptability of our scholars. So inshallah we're going to
- 3:57begin segment 1 when it comes to relevancy.
- 4:00And I'm going to answer the first question.
- 4:01And the idea is when I asked the question and Shallah, you both
- 4:04answered the questions 1 by 1 so that we can make the best of
- 4:08both worlds. So that question #1 when it
- 4:12comes to relevancy, how can scholars claim leadership when
- 4:16so many are disconnected from the issues tearing up
- 4:20communities such as addiction, identity crisis, loneliness,
- 4:25financial oppression? With all these pressing matters
- 4:28going on, why do we feel that our scholars are absence?
- 4:32Say in the toddler, of course, this session today is not about
- 4:40highlighting the scholars that we have and the necessity of
- 4:44scholars in the ulema, which we need to remind ourselves, the
- 4:49Holy Prophet Sallalla Ali, while you seldom reminded us of the
- 4:53high status of the ulema. And here when we're saying ulema
- 4:57I, I'm not referring to myself here.
- 4:59I'm referring to the great Alamar, the scholars that truly
- 5:04we revert those who we look up to, those who gave everything
- 5:09for the sake of Allah, for the sake of Islam and for the sake
- 5:13of seeking knowledge and teaching it onwards, sharing
- 5:18that knowledge. And of course, no doubt there
- 5:22would be questions regards to relevancy regards to questions
- 5:27that what manin our dear ones have asked.
- 5:32First and foremost, we have narrations that state the Raisal
- 5:37om Khade Mohan, a true servant, a true leader of a nation, of a
- 5:44poem is that one who is serving, is there serving the community
- 5:50and the Olema, the scholars, their relevancy in matters of
- 5:56day-to-day life is there, is available.
- 5:59Now, you might want to be careful or we might want to be
- 6:03careful while answering not to paint everyone with the same
- 6:06brush, with the same brush. There are many Olama who are
- 6:10aware. In fact, there are Olama who
- 6:13have experts, analysts with them.
- 6:17They have specialists who approach them.
- 6:20They're specialists in the medical field.
- 6:22They have specialists and for example, in the physical
- 6:25physics, for example, specialists in various fields
- 6:28who come provide them some analysis, some results, some
- 6:32understandings in astronomy and various things and then they
- 6:35come to the conclusion or relevant conclusion.
- 6:39Olama who are aware of various things that take place in the
- 6:43world today. The other day I was visiting one
- 6:46of the Olama in the holy city of Qom and he was mentioning some
- 6:51of the events that are taking place in the economics of the
- 6:56world economy. And some of them I felt myself
- 6:59that wow, Mashallah in Com in the holy city of Com in the holy
- 7:03city of Najaf, there is that awareness, there is that
- 7:08relevance. Now these kind of questions are
- 7:12fair to be asked and the relevance needs to be seen.
- 7:16There are those who are there actively there and present to
- 7:22answer these kind of questions, these kinds of fields.
- 7:26And it's us who need to go towards those enema and ask them
- 7:31their relevance and what are you doing or what are we doing to
- 7:34gain Nena Swaza? Because as we're going to go
- 7:37through this whole segment today, we need to remember that
- 7:41on the day of judgement, one of those who's going to complain to
- 7:45a loss of Hanoi. Ta'ala, the abandoned island.
- 7:47Is the island. Yeah, who was abandoned?
- 7:49Was abandoned, like the Holy Quran said.
- 7:52I don't know. Are you going to say the Quran
- 7:54is not relevant to us today? No, we're not going to say that
- 7:57the Quran is going to complain about us today.
- 8:00The Masjid, how is it relevant to us today?
- 8:02I can pray at home today. No, the Masjid is somewhere that
- 8:06I need to go and pray and it's going to also complain on the
- 8:09day of judgement. So maybe I need to also twist it
- 8:13around or switch it around. This kind of question, how, how
- 8:16much have I felt my relevance to the Wasdor Alamar?
- 8:19How much have I approached them? How much have I actually put my
- 8:22knees? Have you heard of the statement
- 8:25knee to knee? When I go to that Alim, I want
- 8:29to ask and gain knowledge from that Alim to find my relevance
- 8:33in the world today in accordance to the scholarly advice that
- 8:37Alim Gustin wants me. That sounds beautiful.
- 8:42I couldn't have said it better. I echo the sentiments of my
- 8:45respected older brother Samahat Al Alimah, said Ali.
- 8:49And my only addition to that is the ulama, are the inheritors of
- 8:54the Nbiya of the Prophets. Ulama U, what are the TUL NBA?
- 8:58In other words, they're the next best thing we have, but at the
- 9:02same time, they're not prophets. In the event of the absence of a
- 9:07publicly accessible Masoom, we beseech the ulama venom, Hajetty
- 9:13Ali Kumwa Ana Hajatallah as the Imam of our time makes mention
- 9:18that is a status that is extremely high, very
- 9:21significant, extremely pertinent.
- 9:24And it means that it's also relevant.
- 9:26And the discussion regarding relevancy and how can the Olama
- 9:29be leaders if maybe the relevancy aspect or department
- 9:33may not necessarily be touched upon?
- 9:35Well, if you're looking for asthma and infallibility, I'm
- 9:38sorry, we had fourteen of those. Here we have the next best
- 9:41thing. But at the same time, the item
- 9:43is a human. Yep, the item himself is also
- 9:47seeing the world from his perspective, having understood
- 9:49it from the lenses of the literature of Islamic teachings
- 9:53and lessons and so forth. So and I think Yanny, we expect
- 9:57too much and so much from them. And if we just look at a slice
- 10:00of their life and we talk about these beacons of knowledge that
- 10:04are on there, literally legends of which we always use Al faglu
- 10:08mashehi that's beheaded, has it an example of their greatness
- 10:12that the enemy will come in a test and acknowledge towards the
- 10:17greatness of our scholars, those who may not see eye to eye, but
- 10:21they'll give credit where credit is due.
- 10:22I'm impressed that a Pope would like to visit one of them, that
- 10:25they bring their name out there in honor on the degree of
- 10:28humanitarian concerns. Many of them are aware as not to
- 10:33say mention of the world on an economic level, on a social
- 10:37level, on a communal level, but that's still a man, a woman who
- 10:42tried their hardest to struggle. Hence their much heads went
- 10:46through all that effort. And one way we can appreciate
- 10:50them for who they are in regards to a world of relevancy is give
- 10:55them some time as well. Go see them and go appreciate
- 10:59what they have to offer. If they're not necessarily on
- 11:02social media, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
- 11:03If they didn't talk about a particular issue that's relevant
- 11:06to you, but it was relevant to someone else.
- 11:08I think at the end of the day, people need to remember the
- 11:10world doesn't revolve around just you.
- 11:13One thing that helps is when you travel and you look down on the
- 11:16from a plane and you see like the city and you see so many
- 11:19little buildings, which would be massive skyscrapers.
- 11:22And you remember everyone has a story, has a journey, has love,
- 11:26life, divorce, college, this that.
- 11:29And it really humbles you to think that you're not the main
- 11:32character. You're not the main and given
- 11:35that what was said that may not have come across as relevant to
- 11:38you was said with an intention of genuinity that could have
- 11:42helped someone else. And if it's not relevant to you,
- 11:44that means mashaallah, you're doing really good.
- 11:45I mean, this doesn't concern you, this remote other than
- 11:48reminder, which that doesn't apply to me.
- 11:50But at the same time for dekha and nefatadiqura and all
- 11:53reminders are also necessary because they are beneficial.
- 11:56And I think inshallah tada, the more we see the sacrifice from
- 12:02just an intellectual level, not even a communal societal level,
- 12:05talking about the beacons, the the, the leaders at the
- 12:08forefront of our heritage, we ought to be so proud, so proud
- 12:13of what they have done, so proud of what they've accomplished.
- 12:15And they are the best examples. These are our role models.
- 12:17We have role models growing up as young kids.
- 12:19Those are fine actors and actresses and games and things
- 12:22like that. When we get older, the true
- 12:24superheroes are these people legends, how they have this
- 12:28caliber to understand a societal issue and give the right word at
- 12:32the right time. That's called Hekima.
- 12:34And I'm like, yeah, but how come he doesn't talk about this
- 12:36issue? Give him a moment.
- 12:39What did you think Mohiton likes?
- 12:42Like like a semi on Basil? That's God.
- 12:45Give him a minute, for example. And in reality, you'll find that
- 12:48these people are just yeah, and you're doing their best, just
- 12:51like how you are. In a world where there's so many
- 12:53distractions, it's good to see a few who stood out.
- 12:56And our rivers of knowledge for all those who are thirsty to
- 12:59question thirst. Sounds beautifully said by the
- 13:01both of you. I love the point you mentioned
- 13:03about, you know, the wisdom and the high command.
- 13:05That's something I believe we're going to come to later on and
- 13:07the, and the final segments and say, Ali there where you
- 13:10mentioned that there's awareness within the scholarly circles.
- 13:14This is something that we sometimes believe that they
- 13:16don't know what's going on around the world.
- 13:18And I think that's a huge misconception.
- 13:20And it's very beautiful that you mentioned.
- 13:22Can I just say, do do, do we feel like we sometimes as normal
- 13:27members of the community, expect too much from our scholars?
- 13:31Do we rely on them too much? And is that a bad thing, or is
- 13:34it actually a good thing? Of course, looking up to our
- 13:38Olama is a great deed, another Tuilawajiya Aleman.
- 13:42Ebada. Spending time with an alem
- 13:46Ebada, listening to an alem when he's giving the Moreover, as a
- 13:51form of Ebada, taking some steps to gain knowledge by that alem
- 13:57as a form of Bala Bola aem is a form of Ebada vallah subhanahu
- 14:01uthana. Sometimes our expectations may
- 14:04be that we are expecting from that island roles and
- 14:09responsibilities and duties. That may not be his role and
- 14:14responsibility and duty. For example, you may be
- 14:20expecting from that island a specific matter in a specific
- 14:25field, which is not the role of that island to participate in.
- 14:33Yeah. And I'm going to give, for
- 14:35example, an example, an example that may not be the most
- 14:40realistic, but maybe funniest. Why isn't my island that I
- 14:44really love playing football with me today?
- 14:47Why is he not watching a football game today?
- 14:50Why is he not coming to attend the football game?
- 14:54For example, I love football, I love soccer, and I really want
- 14:57my island that I always look up to to come and attend and.
- 15:01Become relevant in the world. Become relevant, for example,
- 15:03why he's not aware of the football teams and the World Cup
- 15:06and everything. Remember Olama.
- 15:11Olama are performing. What's the holy prophets and the
- 15:15imams of the AL Beit stress upon a Dean?
- 15:22Matters of Dean, matters of fear, matters of important
- 15:31rulings that need to be to be answered.
- 15:37I remember one of the members of the committee wanted to present
- 15:41a book to one of the Maraja, Maraja, contemporary Maraja
- 15:46today. Yeah, Maraja lala.
- 15:49And when he presented it to him, he thanked him for it and said,
- 15:54by the way, I've read this book and I've read the next volume
- 15:59and the next volume and the next, and the volumes that you
- 16:03wanted to present for me to be aware of the world and what's
- 16:07going on. I am.
- 16:09I've read these books. So sometimes we may think that
- 16:13that's Alim. He's only looking into fib.
- 16:17No, we have Oliver who are actually reading more than what
- 16:21we are that that what we expect. To be so you'd know was an
- 16:26architect and some of his, you know, creations are still
- 16:31standing today. The dual minaret that he
- 16:34designed of which engineers are baffled by his, you know,
- 16:38intelligence, the the the domeless structure that stands
- 16:43without any columns. And this is one of our grand
- 16:45fokaha from Lebanon. And that's one example here
- 16:50there are Olama and of course everyone has their special, you
- 16:53know, attention and focus who might be more into the realm of
- 16:58if you discuss with them, they'll be excellent or on
- 17:01dissectors. I tell Al Hoy was known to be
- 17:05like a master in almost all these traits on hadith.
- 17:08He was top league, Osul top, fifth top and interestingly,
- 17:13Quran. And I only say interestingly,
- 17:16because the demand from the seminary emphasizes
- 17:20jurisprudence and principles of jurisprudence.
- 17:23It's almost a an extra thing to add.
- 17:26He was Al Bayan Fitevsiro Quran, the material of the Holy Quran.
- 17:31And then you have those whose specialization focuses on
- 17:34certain areas. This is in the world of
- 17:35literature. There's a world outside of the
- 17:37literature and the intellectuality that Samantha
- 17:39said was talking about earlier. And that involves like
- 17:41economics, medicine, traditional teachings, studying languages.
- 17:48Ayatollah Sheikh al al Bellari, one of the teachers of Sid al
- 17:51Hoy, studied ancient Hebrew and studied Aramaic.
- 17:55And with that he used it to help him look at the interreligious
- 18:01comparative analysis. So you would debate rabbis,
- 18:05Ayatollah Sheikh al al Bellari. And so he had a speciality with
- 18:09the ancient texts and resources. Interestingly, when I was doing
- 18:13my masters in religious studies, we had to study the Torah and we
- 18:17studied the the Bible and the Gospels.
- 18:19And, you know, I mean, not knowing the language, it's hard
- 18:21because you're looking at old ancient texts.
- 18:23And then in my research, because I was doing a comparative
- 18:26analysis between the crucifixion of Jesus and Quran and the the
- 18:29Gospels, I came across a work already written by Ayatollah
- 18:33Hoist teacher in this exact same topic.
- 18:37You know, Salbel Masih Ben al Qurani will injured and I'm
- 18:42like, yeah, Allah, I reference this resource and here's this
- 18:45much Dad, who says this is my specialization.
- 18:48Ancient comparative analysis. It's very amazing, beautiful.
- 18:51It's beautiful, it's impressive. And in today's world, you might
- 18:54find the Adam who has an area in the social media space, an area
- 18:59in, for example, I'd say interfaith athletes are good.
- 19:04Yeah. You know, and I think there's a
- 19:06lot of expectations also put forth to our scholars as well
- 19:10and also room needed to be provided.
- 19:14But sometimes a scholar can't address every single thing.
- 19:18For example, for example, if he's invited to do a divorce
- 19:21case, his area is to address the matters that concern the issue
- 19:26of whether or not this segment is highlight for you to do.
- 19:29Are you allowed to do this? What happens when the splits?
- 19:33Who gets custody? The shutter a point of view is
- 19:36here. Usually what they'll follow up
- 19:38with is like general advice. Do you think I should leave?
- 19:42Should I stay? What about the house?
- 19:43So that's outside of my realm. You're looking for a family
- 19:46counselor now as soon as you're asking for a counselor slash a
- 19:50jurisprudential advisor slash spiritual guide slash answer of
- 19:54Islamic questions, contemporary controversial as well.
- 19:57There's a lot being asked, you know, to your point earlier.
- 20:00But at the same time, it's always impressive to see that
- 20:02the arts. That flow with them is something
- 20:05very impressive, that's very underappreciated.
- 20:07Sent me Allah bless our alamar. Coming up to the second
- 20:09question, when it comes to relevancy Sadatna, the question
- 20:13is, while influencers who seem relatable to the average Muslim
- 20:17online and are reaching thousands in a matter of only
- 20:20minutes, some people believe many scholars are too busy with
- 20:24infighting, reputation wars and rivalries.
- 20:28How do you respond to this? We need to remind ourselves not
- 20:38to fall into a trap which is so easy, a trap that we're falling
- 20:43into the trap of so many, the trap of quantity, the trap of
- 20:52ectharonas, the trap of this one has so many likes, the trap of
- 20:59so many views. Alas, reminded us in the Quran
- 21:04this be careful, don't go. There's loads of focus on
- 21:19quantity, quantity, quantity. But let us reset the quality,
- 21:26the quality, the quality, the quality.
- 21:29Which one brings me closer to a loss of?
- 21:34When Prophet ESA was asked Menujalis, who shall we sit and
- 21:41accompany? Prophet ESA could have said
- 21:44those who bring lots of people beside them, those who have a
- 21:49huge gathering, those who have many people surrounding them, go
- 21:55next to them, go with the flow. He said.
- 21:58Go sit with those individuals that when you look at them, they
- 22:04bring you closer to Allah, they remind you of Allah, that
- 22:10there's a reflection of Tafakor towards Allah, Subhanahu Uttar
- 22:15Allah. Who knows behind the scenes that
- 22:18this may be in itself a systematic approach that look
- 22:26the majority of the and go with that majority and they may not
- 22:34be the ones who are bringing you closer to God, a loss of heart
- 22:37and and God. We need to remind ourselves as
- 22:41we're discussing about Olamah and Alim that there is a
- 22:45difference. And I remember my head teacher
- 22:47years ago used to say this, that there is a difference between an
- 22:51Alim, a Rouhani and for example an ahound or a speaker.
- 23:02He used to say that this even this term speaker or ahound used
- 23:08to be before that that person ahound that this person used to
- 23:13read and know how to read and know how to write.
- 23:18Before when they used to come with some letters, no one knew
- 23:21how to read them. So who was it they used to give
- 23:24it to that akhund or that person.
- 23:27But there's a difference between an alim Rabbani, that scholarly
- 23:33individual that brings you closer to Allah Subhanahu or to
- 23:37Allah that one who is truly bring you closer to Allah
- 23:41Subhanahu. So let's think of this, which
- 23:44one is more sincere in the approach?
- 23:48Which one really wants us to become closer towards a loss of
- 23:52Hanno Tarana? Or which one is actually doing
- 23:55something for those likes or for those views and say, look, I'm
- 24:01more relevant for you all. I've got the more views and I.
- 24:05Said, I said beautifully says it.
- 24:08And say just before I come to you and say Mohammed, I said, of
- 24:10course, I'd like to hear you answer as well.
- 24:12But would you say that just coming back to the question that
- 24:15there is no infighting happening between scholars, There is no
- 24:18rivalries happening between scholars?
- 24:20Because the question here, if I look at it one more time, say it
- 24:23and it says, for example, the influences, they're being
- 24:26relatable to the Muslims online. And if our scholars are busy
- 24:30dealing with troubles behind the scenes, when is the general
- 24:33Muslim population going to have the opportunity to be influenced
- 24:37by the right Alamo? Differences, in fact,
- 24:41differences in matters of opinions is something very
- 24:45natural in various matters. Yeah, two doctors, they will
- 24:50have a difference of opinion in this matter.
- 24:53For example, one to do a surgery and won't say no.
- 24:56Actually my expertise opinion is not to have a surgery or
- 25:00surgical operation. Again, of course in fighting we
- 25:03don't mean physical. Yeah, yeah, there's no
- 25:05differences of opinion. It's not the differences of
- 25:07opinion which is Tilaf Almaty. There's that Tilaf or that
- 25:12difference of opinion and the ummah and itself is a blessing
- 25:16and itself is something that we should look up to as a as a
- 25:20blessing in itself. And these differences of opinion
- 25:25give us the various HT hard, the various scholarly conclusions
- 25:31that they've come up to. And with all of that, I
- 25:36personally have seen many of the Olama that have utmost respect
- 25:41between themselves and Karamat was one of them.
- 25:45I personally never witnessed anything.
- 25:47And when you go to the Olama, again we're saying those are
- 25:50Alam Rabbani. When you go to the holy cities,
- 25:53how much respect they have to one another, how much they
- 25:57honour one another, how much they don't allow anyone to speak
- 26:03against that other individual or that other alum.
- 26:07And I remember a story that was from two of the Olama who
- 26:17Shekhar Baha'i invited Muqaddis. To.
- 26:22Machine and they were both riding on a donkey, each one had
- 26:29gone a bit faster ahead and the other one was a bit slower.
- 26:34And Subhanallah, it's not their dilemma, it's the satanic
- 26:38whispers and those who want to cause.
- 26:42Fitna. Fitna and internal what
- 26:47differences and disputes and look at them.
- 26:50So one of them went to say it, Beardam Adafone and Sheikh
- 26:56Baha'i and said look, Sheikh Bahari said Mir Dahmad's ride
- 27:02his donkey is much slower. So you want to see what Sheikh
- 27:06Bahari would respond. Sheikh Bahai would say I'm
- 27:09amazed. How is this donkey even moving
- 27:13when so much Thakalol, Iman and Elm is on top?
- 27:17Allah, Allah, Allah. And the other one, they went
- 27:20again this to said Mir Dahmad. That look, Sheikh Bahari has
- 27:25gone much further ahead. He's not even waiting for you.
- 27:29What's happened? He said.
- 27:31I'm amazed. Why is this Markham?
- 27:34Why is this this donkey, Why is it not going even faster ahead?
- 27:39Because this Alim who's on upon him is as if there is no sins.
- 27:46There is what there are. That light, light way that there
- 27:49is, that love, that Rahma, that blessing between them is what we
- 27:54need to look up to and say, look, the Ala Moham have so much
- 27:57respect between themselves. We need to show that respect
- 28:01between one another, between the followers also.
- 28:05And sometimes I see this Al Hamdallah and we need to
- 28:08encourage this in Muharram. That's many from 1 Hosseinia
- 28:15should have the honour that I would love to go to another
- 28:19Hosseinia and this Hosseinia come to this Hosseinia and this
- 28:24center to another center and this small cube to another.
- 28:27And as a Hosseini reciter and as speakers and lecturers, we
- 28:34should also encourage this that we need.
- 28:36Let's go to that hosseini. Let's attend this program and
- 28:41show that we're all on that, will I?
- 28:45That's part of a loss of heart and albeit and that's a love and
- 28:48Rama between us shots. That's beautiful, beautiful and
- 28:51I encourage and echo those words on unity, Shia share unity is
- 28:55something beautiful. And you know, when we attend
- 28:57Majalis, and you mentioned you highlighted Muharram, normally
- 29:00that's when we see other centers, visiting other centers.
- 29:02And it's something beautiful to watch.
- 29:04You're like, wow, this community came to us, we can all get
- 29:06along. So something inshallah,
- 29:08inshallah, many people can do that as well outside of Majalis,
- 29:13outside of Muharram as well, 24/7, 365 days.
- 29:16And yeah, by saying the same, what's your take on this?
- 29:19Yeah, I mean, I think once in a blue moon you might find
- 29:22differences of opinions that spiral into something that
- 29:25becomes public and over exaggerated to a way where in
- 29:29reality it was just a comment that was said that came across
- 29:33as could have been worded in a no a more maybe befitting
- 29:36manner. But Yanni, if you look at the
- 29:39case I say here mentioned clearly the reality is they'll
- 29:42have so many differences, but they only speak of each other in
- 29:46flying colours. The save mentioned the beautiful
- 29:49story about the the Olamati there reviewing one another.
- 29:53There was a case where there was a there were two scholars that
- 29:56had differences of opinions in regards to principles that, you
- 30:00know, could make you stand out as someone who supports a
- 30:03certain idea and one who doesn't support the same idea.
- 30:06And so they thought to themselves, the community, that
- 30:10how are we to a view others and you can just fill in the blank.
- 30:13It could be many things. It could be many examples
- 30:16because we have a few of these examples where it's like I just
- 30:19need to know one thing about you.
- 30:20Do you support XY and Z? Yes, also then that means you're
- 30:23from this group, yes and and the contention is both sides.
- 30:27Often times it could be the case where it's this group feels that
- 30:31why aren't you on the same team as me in regards to this opinion
- 30:35and the other team says how could you guys embrace such an
- 30:38opinion? And so it can be both ways.
- 30:41The funny thing is that all about themselves couldn't care
- 30:44less. It's the group surrounding them.
- 30:47How often have groups become a source or there's a lot of
- 30:51confusion because it's like they represent a group of people.
- 30:56They only represent themselves. The person that represents the
- 31:00individual is who they allocate as a literal representative.
- 31:04Those literal term, method, waqid, etcetera.
- 31:07These ought to be the reflections of their viewpoints.
- 31:11Now one example is if you were to ask the scholar himself, I
- 31:18remember a very beautiful story where they said this.
- 31:22Alan doesn't embrace the same opinion that you came with.
- 31:26What do we question his adalah and justice to?
- 31:30That extent it. Became that clear that it's
- 31:32like, I don't is it fine to even pray behind in order to
- 31:37disregard any of these misconceptions of thoughts that
- 31:40Alan said? You're asking me about his
- 31:43Adalah, rather ask me about his asthma.
- 31:46Instead ask in question about his infallibility.
- 31:49Possibly. Look how much he worships, how
- 31:51close he is to Allah or whatever.
- 31:53But he disagrees with me on one opinion.
- 31:56And that's the beauty of scholarly material research,
- 31:59heritage. It's amazing to see these
- 32:01disagreements because it's amazing to find the arguments.
- 32:04Both of them are solid. I'll give a quick, quick example
- 32:08with the permission of stuff. Please say it here, Ayatollah,
- 32:12say it about cosmic Hoy. But this is a Rosheri had his
- 32:16men hedge a fit quite solid. It was hard to debate him.
- 32:21Another item can say, listen, I have a men hedge that I feel
- 32:26very confident as well. But you're talking a
- 32:28contemporary say Hoy, not talking to someone who comes out
- 32:31of nowhere. The odd student does shine, but
- 32:34someone like Ayatollah said Hussein Alberto Jordi, they have
- 32:38different methodologies of jurisprudence.
- 32:41Both of them are very strong in the case they make.
- 32:44I'll give a quick example just to show the beauty of the
- 32:47difference. One of them is you have an
- 32:51anonym who really respects the early texts and says I work with
- 32:56what they mentioned. The other item says while I
- 33:00respect those texts, I also use my own intuition.
- 33:04I collect the presumptions, I gather the Quran, and I also use
- 33:08my own intuition. SO1 favors intuition, the other
- 33:11favors, for example, material, and both of them make part of
- 33:15good sense. Why not use intuition?
- 33:18If something makes sense here, something makes sense here.
- 33:21Odds are, and that's probably what the Muslim wanted, but he
- 33:24never necessarily said it. It could be in many cases, for
- 33:28example, it could be many. Or Ulama decided to embrace the
- 33:31idea that the non-muslim Kitabi from the Jew and Christian, they
- 33:38are spiritually impure. Spiritually impure.
- 33:42Yes, other Olama came and said I don't see a narration for this.
- 33:46And so it was built on the ijmah of the early scholars.
- 33:50And so if you come from a world view where you like, I respect
- 33:52the early material because they were closer during the time of
- 33:55the imams. So I have to give them credit.
- 33:58And so maybe they never wrote it as a narration because there was
- 34:00none, but it was probably that common at that time.
- 34:03So that's why they also embrace. I know I'm just listen, if I
- 34:05don't see a narration, let me collect the presumptions.
- 34:08I can see Imam X dealing with a Christian.
- 34:11I don't see that he had to wash his hands, for example.
- 34:13So you see both of them can make a strong argument.
- 34:16How do you debate that? And so it's like, but who comes
- 34:19out of nowhere? Here's this lame man and says
- 34:22you follow XI really say and say it has seen this a lot.
- 34:26We have to it's like get a life, get a life and these wars have
- 34:31to move on. The scholar themselves respect
- 34:33the other. They challenge each other
- 34:36intellectually, not personally. Why are they you making a
- 34:38personal we have to move on. Well, though we have bigger
- 34:41issues. May Allah bless that one scholar
- 34:42that said, you know, we were debating on whether we should
- 34:45pray in this way or that way while the enemy's thinking, how
- 34:47can I slice the hands apart? You're talking about these
- 34:50fickle things which are important in matters of textual
- 34:53intellectuality. But in the real world today, the
- 34:55Islamophob can differentiate and they give priorities where they
- 34:59ought to be. And I think inshallah Ta'ala,
- 35:01when we do that, we make the priority straight, clear.
- 35:03We come and see the value for what it is.
- 35:06Gold shines in whatever perspective you look at it, and
- 35:09sometimes it needs a bit more refining.
- 35:11At the end of the day, it's still gold.
- 35:13Accent, accent, No, very beautiful, beautiful example.
- 35:16And I I really love this point you mentioned because spinal
- 35:19just a few weeks ago, I was actually I went to I'm sorry, a
- 35:22few months ago. I I was in Umrah now when
- 35:25Habibi, I was with a few brothers and we were discussing
- 35:28this thing. You know, we all have 100 wall
- 35:31under the wall of Amiram Wallace Charlemont, Menino.
- 35:34We aspire to become believers and we all follow different
- 35:38Maraja. And you know, we had so much
- 35:40conversations throughout the amazing days we were there, the
- 35:43spiritual nights, unforgettable. But one thing I took from that
- 35:46experience was that we came, we all came to the same conclusion.
- 35:49We're like, you know what, we may have different opinions on
- 35:52this. We see these things differently,
- 35:54but that we don't think our Maraja have issues.
- 35:57And I think we give an issue an issue when there's no issue at
- 36:01all. And we can imagine our our
- 36:04Maraja sitting side by side and discussing these differences of
- 36:08opinions between them in a very respectful and calm way.
- 36:11Us as followers, we make the problems when there's no
- 36:14problems at the very top at all. And I think that that's a
- 36:17beautiful reminder and just re sparked that conversation I had
- 36:21with a few friends when I was in Amara.
- 36:23Now, coming to the third and final question, when it comes to
- 36:25relevancy, why is it that some scholars either shy away from
- 36:29real engagement on social media or worse, create online
- 36:33platforms just to craft a carefully staged image of
- 36:36themselves? Are scholars serving their
- 36:38religion correctly online, say to Muhammad?
- 36:41Hassan said. I've been gone first for the
- 36:44last two questions. I think so.
- 36:46Because I'm on social media. I want behind them a little bit.
- 36:51I didn't pay. Make sure you follow.
- 36:52I think you you did that on your own free will.
- 36:56I didn't pay you. But yeah, I mean if you look at
- 37:04the etymology of the word alim. Yes.
- 37:08Alim knowledge and there's a difference between someone who
- 37:13says they're knowledgeable and someone who genuinely is
- 37:15knowledgeable. I would be here you use the word
- 37:20Privy. What does that mean here?
- 37:21Privy means hesitant or or I'll be Privy too unlikely hesitant.
- 37:28I would discourage. Privy means in the sense of I
- 37:31would, I would be OK with or the opposite of that.
- 37:35I'm not sure say it. You guys are the British, OK,
- 37:38Carlos. I know we have a Privy Council
- 37:40here, but I don't know what goes.
- 37:42On whatever that word means, what I'm trying to say is I
- 37:46would be hesitant in giving platforms religious
- 37:54justification because someone brought a degree of intellect to
- 37:59the table. Yep.
- 38:00That is to say that obviously not every as the same mentioned
- 38:04earlier speaker is a scholar and at the same time not every
- 38:08scholar is a speaker. But it's Noor I don't know that
- 38:12the person speaking is a scholar because you at least have more
- 38:16comfort knowing that the sources are probably researched and well
- 38:19known. Social media I would be Privy.
- 38:24I'm not sure. I just got the definition of
- 38:25Privy by the way. It means sharing in the
- 38:28knowledge of something secret or private.
- 38:30OK, OK, So it's using the wrong context in this case.
- 38:34Yeah. I mean, I would say, I mean, you
- 38:36have to do your own due diligence.
- 38:38Who is speaking to me? Who am I allowing my son to
- 38:41listen to? Yep, I wouldn't expose them to
- 38:44the offline world just for free. Go out and enjoy.
- 38:47Likewise, I shouldn't expose them to just the online world
- 38:50with its distractions. It's to it's misguidance and
- 38:53it's agendas as well. And yeah, I would say we're in
- 38:56an age where a lot of people will come and disguise that.
- 38:59Listen, I'm telling you, these are the teachings called Ali
- 39:02Mama Saudi. And this is how you ought to
- 39:04think and this is how you should operate.
- 39:06Look, it's not hard to investigate these days, their
- 39:08background. Unfortunately, it's sad to say
- 39:12this, and this should not cast doubt on anyone who's out there
- 39:15presenting themselves as a learned scholar.
- 39:18But there are charlatans, people who are unstudied.
- 39:21That's fine. People who, for example, may
- 39:26have studied but should not be seen to the degree as an
- 39:30Ayatollah al Odmah, because they may have said a few things.
- 39:34Very nice. At the end of the day, if you
- 39:36decide to take your fit from someone, that person needs to be
- 39:39credible. I'm I'm so for I love the fact
- 39:43that we have youth speakers if they're interested, if they're
- 39:46excited. I want to share with you what
- 39:48inspires me about ladies and of why I'm so proud of my hijab,
- 39:51what lessons I've got about It's good.
- 39:53I would watch out from Q and as though.
- 39:55Yes. I would watch out from Q and as
- 39:57you're going to get a question about Hilad and it's the lava
- 39:59and it's almost all about and I would watch out because it's not
- 40:03your area and it's completely fine to say listen, I don't
- 40:06know. Because I don't want to be that
- 40:08somehow love the reason why I decide to misguide people
- 40:11because I didn't know. And so one thing I would say
- 40:14online with scholars, I think is beautiful.
- 40:18I think our dear say here has a presence and I think it is nice.
- 40:21It's important and our mirage while they as their own person
- 40:24don't have there are resources to reach them.
- 40:26Yes, there are ways to I need some today.
- 40:29You can actually just go online right now and send an e-mail.
- 40:32I bet maybe in a few weeks, but you'll get a response.
- 40:35Eventually you do. Isn't that amazing, though?
- 40:37Yeah. And if you get to think, you
- 40:38know, why don't they get back to me or some?
- 40:39First of all, I wish they would text you and you can text each
- 40:42other on WhatsApp, but the world they're dealing with involves
- 40:45you plus our ad, maybe a few million others as well.
- 40:48Sorry. Especially if they're in Iraq,
- 40:50they're dealing with a whole host of other things and then
- 40:52elsewhere and in the houses. So it's like from Allah that
- 40:56they have something out there. And so but those who come forth,
- 41:01I think it's do your own due diligence.
- 41:03Now, anyone who just comes and says, listen, I can speak with
- 41:06to you the teachings of added Beit the Quran.
- 41:08These are the real. There are charlatans that exist.
- 41:10This is not to cast on anyone, but a person's bio is available.
- 41:13It's accessible. Ask Iran, who is this person
- 41:15that came out of? Nowhere.
- 41:16And it's absolutely fine because sometimes we feel like, I think
- 41:18as as layman, if I can say is that who are we to check their
- 41:24credibility? Honey, if we like what they say
- 41:26and resonate with what's being said by them and we feel as
- 41:29good, why should we check their credibility?
- 41:32It's fine. It's fine to just benefit from
- 41:34anything that someone has to say.
- 41:36But if someone is trying to be controversial for purposes of
- 41:41steering the water or going against the norm or really
- 41:45referencing books and narrations and saying it's not mentioned
- 41:49here when it is mentioned in there to further your own
- 41:52personal agenda because you want to get more impressive
- 41:55reactions. Who are you to be speaking to be
- 41:59speaking about literature that's pre existed, You that have
- 42:03credible thinkers reading on it? This hadith is never mentioned
- 42:07in any source. It is.
- 42:08I see this a lot. I think say comes across this as
- 42:11well where it's like, why would you just flat out lie?
- 42:15Clearly there's motive here. I'm not saying cast out, but I'm
- 42:18saying at the end of the day, there's a standard that's need
- 42:20to be held. You know what would happen if
- 42:22this happens in university? Plagiarism.
- 42:24You're kicked out. Yeah, for some reason.
- 42:26I know. Masha'allah.
- 42:27It's completely acceptable. It's fine.
- 42:29It comes. I've heard this.
- 42:30And I spoke a bit too long. I really want to hear what's
- 42:32about to say. It adds to more to this.
- 42:34Our respect to teacher here. I've heard this one and I hate
- 42:38this as a reference. You will not find this from a
- 42:41book. It comes from the heart.
- 42:44Imam has said. John, I didn't did this.
- 42:46Where'd you get that from? Why did you say that?
- 42:49Because it's such a powerful thing to add.
- 42:51I wish he had done it. It comes from the heart.
- 42:53I've heard this from speakers who are revered to the degree
- 42:58where they're like, for example, like Yani, they're the gospel of
- 43:02what God has. Imam media has sent him here.
- 43:05This is you can't find, but it's in the heart.
- 43:06Yeah, you know, it's in the dream method.
- 43:08You've had Baba. You're building on people's
- 43:10faith teachings, lessons. If the Adam has said something,
- 43:15we use it. If he hasn't had said something,
- 43:18then research. Look, I'm fine with you saying
- 43:21lessons that are beautiful and lovely.
- 43:22I think we need more of that. Even if you don't come from a
- 43:25world view that may have done any background in Islamic
- 43:28studies. However, a lot will ask and
- 43:31question you all. They have judgement.
- 43:33So these are very necessary to keep in.
- 43:35Mind saying that just before I think you say your your your
- 43:39answer to the question, if I can just stick on this.
- 43:41Sure. Press on this a little further
- 43:43on the last point that you mentioned, you know, when it
- 43:45comes to things like this in the scholar world, on scholar
- 43:47circles, do you guys discuss between yourself and say, well,
- 43:51what's said here was out of line?
- 43:53Is there something that happens like behind the scenes where OK,
- 43:57so this has been said. This is not true.
- 43:59We can't find anywhere with this that someone speak to that
- 44:01individual. Or is it just left to fade off
- 44:04by itself? We have a narration, of course,
- 44:07that A Habul Ihuani Ile from from the Imam, my most beloved
- 44:15brother, a Habul Ihuani Ile man, Ahda Ilea, or you'll be, is the
- 44:22one who guides me towards my own faults as a true brother, as a
- 44:29true friend, as a true brother. Dear one, I'm the one who goes
- 44:34and asks my Mormon brother, give me advice, guide me, help me,
- 44:39tell me my faults, criticisms, let me improve myself.
- 44:43Of course, Ahda Ilea guides me towards my own faults, faults.
- 44:49Not the one who goes and tells the whole world, by the way, say
- 44:52it's faults of this, this is that.
- 44:53And then I found out after a few days about faults that have been
- 44:57spread around the whole world. Then it comes to me.
- 44:59No, a true friend, a true dear one, someone who's also, for
- 45:04example, a speaker, a speaker or scholar should relate to one
- 45:08another. In fact, one of the arts of
- 45:11Mubarak Hatha after the lessons and of that you have with your
- 45:16teacher is you have Mubaraka where the students get together
- 45:21and they start to critically analyze the text that they're
- 45:26going through. And one of them says, I
- 45:28understood from the teacher this view.
- 45:30The other one might say that actually my understanding was
- 45:33this view and they start to discuss and discourse and
- 45:39describe their own views and understandings.
- 45:42This is one of the beauties of Islamic Hauser and mere studies
- 45:48and the art of learning and seeking knowledge from one
- 45:52another and gaining from one another.
- 45:55I remember one of the humble advice that we gave, for
- 45:58example, one of our speakers in one of the nights, for example,
- 46:03he mentioned a, for example, a narration that he said that this
- 46:07is a narration. And we said, by the way, this is
- 46:09not a narration, it's a saying or proverb.
- 46:14And he immediately realized, actually, maybe I was off board.
- 46:17I didn't realize. And let's remind ourselves, none
- 46:21of us are Muslim. We make our mistakes, yeah.
- 46:24None of us are infallible, except for the infallibles and
- 46:29of course I Even the term infallible is not the best word,
- 46:32error free or sinless milestone, because infallible means you are
- 46:37robotically unable to perform sins.
- 46:39But the Imams themselves, they chose on their side, ascend
- 46:43voluntarily not to perform any sins or even think about
- 46:48sinning. And we are.
- 46:50Some of us speaking about myself are prone to error, prone to
- 46:55mistake. And in fact, we need that
- 46:58constant reminder that my target is the adulbeit our name was
- 47:02Saddam to get closer to Allah supporter.
- 47:05They are the true role models and the mistakes and sins that
- 47:09I've made. I need to be aware of Rashallah
- 47:11to constantly improve myself. So yes, and the best thing is to
- 47:16constantly ask even after your own recitation, go through your
- 47:22notes, go through your lecture. I know one of the Ole Ma, one of
- 47:27the Ole Ma who's also a very prominent speaker, Habib in the
- 47:31Arabic world. And when I sat down with him,
- 47:36one of the advice he gave is that his majidis that he recites
- 47:41from last Muharram, he would listen to it the following
- 47:46before the following Muharram and just see anything, any
- 47:50points, anything that he needs to do, maybe clarify anything
- 47:54that maybe didn't wasn't resolved, for example, and just
- 47:59constantly reveal on stuff. Yeah.
- 48:02Why? In the professional world we
- 48:03have CPD and that constant cycling of improving yourself,
- 48:08professional development. We need to always reflect on
- 48:11ourselves and truly improve. Ask for advice, ask for
- 48:14feedback, constructive feedback inshallah and help one another
- 48:19on this mission of being on Safina to Najat in Sharma.
- 48:23We're all on this journey together.
- 48:25Sharma and beautiful Hadithi was trying.
- 48:28To get in on the scholar group chat.
- 48:31Is the one that exists. No comment.
- 48:35That's thank you. Say it's we're going to move on
- 48:37to Segment 2, Segment 2 Inshallahs regarding the
- 48:39capability of scholars and before being honest, are today
- 48:44scholars really trained to lead human beings or or they just
- 48:48trained to deliver lectures That's an.
- 48:53Interesting question. Are scholars trained?
- 48:56Are scholars trained to lead human beings or they just
- 48:59trained to deliver sermons and lectures and lessons?
- 49:03So of course, olamar in themselves, one of their roles
- 49:09is to be an alim Rabbani who focuses on one of their
- 49:15expertise, maybe to focus on FIQ or focus on osul al fiq.
- 49:20And therefore you find that's alim Rabbani maybe heading
- 49:23towards the alim of H Tihad and then the alim of what alim here
- 49:30being the world of or the world of Marjahia.
- 49:33And therefore you find, for example, the Sharat or the
- 49:36conditions of the Marjah and those conditions that are
- 49:39mentioned as Alameda, him being Bali, him being various of
- 49:47these, of these conditions in Islamic Hauser and mere madrasa.
- 49:55There are certain lessons and sessions for those Olama and
- 50:04those students who want to take another role.
- 50:08The island of here being the world of.
- 50:10Tabligh speaking, Lecturing. Speaking and lecturing and the
- 50:17role, responsibilities and duties that they have.
- 50:21You know how we have the examples of football players are
- 50:24role models to the youth off the pitch and on the pitch and the
- 50:30huge role that that speaker Ireland Scholar has is not just
- 50:38on the member, he truly has a more effective role.
- 50:43Of the member. Again, 1 He is before the member
- 50:47and after the member. Many times we have, for example,
- 50:51they say that's Alim. When he came to that community,
- 50:54we loved him so much, not just for his majidis and lectures.
- 50:58After the majidis he sat down with the community, he sat with
- 51:02the youth. He even joined us in our
- 51:05discussions. He even came to our homes, he
- 51:08came to our local Mukbara. He was an all round.
- 51:12Full package. Harlem full package that is 11
- 51:16role, responsibility and duty beautiful.
- 51:18Yes, some may for example, you would say may need training,
- 51:22which is beautiful thing. And we've had scholarly
- 51:28workshops workshops, for example, on how to handle, for
- 51:33example, social media workshops, for example, regards to family
- 51:38and advice. And these are these are
- 51:40trainings that are that you need to to go through.
- 51:44So these are workshops for scholars.
- 51:45There are, there are. Beautiful.
- 51:47There are beautiful shops, there are events that need to go
- 51:50through leadership courses. Not every for example, student
- 51:55from the Ozone me as suddenly has become a is aware how to
- 51:58become a leader. Needs, for example, some
- 52:01training, some awareness. Sometimes even one student may
- 52:07be very shy. Sometimes you may have that
- 52:11communication barrier, different languages.
- 52:15And remember, sometimes we're we're very we need to be very
- 52:19careful because sometimes we are comparing with those scholars
- 52:24and Olama who've forcefully migrated to different countries
- 52:29and say, oh, why this Alim who's come to this country doesn't
- 52:33speak our language after 4050, sixty years, he's come to a
- 52:39different country. He's a harib in this country.
- 52:43He's. Probably left the war-torn.
- 52:44Whole country war. Torn country he it wasn't his
- 52:49fleeing persecution. And.
- 52:51Everything. It takes some time.
- 52:54We have some Alima who've actually managed to learn the
- 52:57different language communicate. So know that this anime has a
- 53:03relevant reason or may have a a difficulty in understanding the
- 53:08language that you have Give everyone their ability for them
- 53:12to want to excel in that field that they that they are in.
- 53:19And that's why we need to also be of those who support one
- 53:22another, help one another, aid one another, encourage one
- 53:29another. And that's true Olama, that true
- 53:32island. And that's one of a sign of a
- 53:35true island, is that humbleness and sincerity that he would come
- 53:42to that event and be with you and be with the community and be
- 53:47with the families. And no island, no scholar would
- 53:53say I know it all and there's nothing for me to learn.
- 53:58That's why you find our senior scholars.
- 54:03Our senior scholars have never said that we give up from
- 54:07learning and give up from seeking knowledge.
- 54:12I told Lana all the Mercedes Hoi.
- 54:14Until the great till. The last truly till the grave,
- 54:19until the last moment. They'll be constantly reading
- 54:24and learning our present day scholars, So Mahatma Adama, said
- 54:29Sistani. He is constantly seeking
- 54:32knowledge and giving knowledge and sharing knowledge and saying
- 54:37that this is a beauty of aim and the ocean of knowledge.
- 54:43So this is a a a pathway of constant uplifting, sharing and
- 54:51gaining knowledge is sharp. I, I think the leaders of our
- 54:57own ma are the Olama. If we pick someone to lead us,
- 55:01it better be someone that knows not to disobey a lost panel
- 55:04Ta'ala. So it doesn't take an island to
- 55:06do that. But rest assured that you're in
- 55:08good hands when you're with someone who's dedicated their
- 55:10life, sacrifice given a lot, went through struggles and then
- 55:14got to a point where now they can tell you.
- 55:16I think I know the Sharia because at the end of the day,
- 55:18RSA made it very clear. They will never tell you I've
- 55:21known it all, but based on my humble reasoning, this is the
- 55:24conclusion I received. And one big proof to this is
- 55:27recently say that is Sistani hafi, the whole law, but the law
- 55:34of your Omar E Sharif. Ojimir Uleman El Abroar issued a
- 55:38fatwa recently about royal Jelly from the hive of bees and that
- 55:48he gave an opinion that in my humble opinion, having studied
- 55:52this, I don't think it still counts as honey.
- 55:56And so he issued it literally one month ago.
- 56:00Why? Because I had to analyze the
- 56:02process, anatomy and chemistry of this and that takes research
- 56:06to do that. And I think in the world today,
- 56:08people consume almost everything.
- 56:10Looking into this, he says that's this is separate from
- 56:13honey. That's his opinion other and I
- 56:15will say, but it's still made in the same manner.
- 56:18It's just the the chemicals are a bit shifted, but it's still
- 56:22the same thing. It could taste the same way.
- 56:24Both have strong claims to be made.
- 56:26But the fact is despite his old age may not prolong his life and
- 56:30all the other, they're still addressing real world issues.
- 56:34Some might say, well that's a very out of the ordinary thing.
- 56:37It's a real world issue. Effects it doesn't affect you,
- 56:40Effects someone. Else not.
- 56:41I mean, my shell doesn't concern you.
- 56:43I mean, how how much are you into, like, royal Jelly?
- 56:46But in the real. But in the real world today, you
- 56:49just. You're not a perfect Dean unless
- 56:51you address everything. Yeah and the Quran and Adobe
- 56:54did, but now it becomes addressed through a lens of
- 56:58understanding interpretation. Another example is we mentioned
- 57:02his name again and we may we always mention his name Este del
- 57:06Hoi. With this, Assad Ro Sharif later
- 57:09on in life changes the opinion about one narrator of Hadith and
- 57:13Kitab Kamila Ziadat, because he was of the opinion that the
- 57:19narrators who reported the traditions and narrations of
- 57:23common is he on us are all reliable.
- 57:25He said one man I've realized is not this one individual is not
- 57:30necessarily the most reliable is that in that case I've built an
- 57:34entire Rasala Hamelia of jurisprudence on laws and
- 57:38opinions. He's probably found somewhere in
- 57:40there where he's in the chain and the chain ends with the
- 57:44hokum from Imam Baba or Sladek. Do I have to change all that?
- 57:47He says yes, I do. Went back and changed the whole
- 57:51aside. He says nothing much really
- 57:53changed except the timing of Russell, of Jumal, whether it's
- 57:58from Federer to Salah or whether it's from Federer to Muhlb.
- 58:02One thing changed. I had to shift it, but he
- 58:03changed the whole thing. He's re analyzed the whole
- 58:06thing. Active thinking to degrees that
- 58:10are like Yanni, unprecedently incredible and that's where I
- 58:15need the appreciation needs to be.
- 58:16I think in my humble opinion, if we put anyone on a pedestal,
- 58:20it's these. Who else goes on this?
- 58:23It's these icons and idolizing celebrities.
- 58:27If they're good, may Allah bless them.
- 58:29At the end of the day, my Dean rests and who's necklace I've
- 58:34placed on of tech lead. I've placed it.
- 58:37My neck is the most sensitive part of my existence.
- 58:41I put it in your hands and while it's in your hands, I admire
- 58:46this field. It's such a beautiful field.
- 58:48It's something growing up, I've seen young men who are embracing
- 58:54of their faith, all interest. And they say, you know what
- 58:57house is a beautiful thing, girl.
- 59:00We may have had that same trend where it's like, I think one day
- 59:03I'm caught out to this. I'm I'm caught out.
- 59:04I might do this. It's a beautiful thing.
- 59:06What else am I doing? I'm studying Islam from the lips
- 59:09of Imam Batra and Imam Sadiq and, and I see these legends.
- 59:13It's Dunya and it's Agra. If you're chasing wealth, if
- 59:17you're chasing things of that nature, there are ways to
- 59:19accomplish this, but you don't have to sacrifice one for the
- 59:22other. But then there are those who
- 59:24have said, listen, I've I've reached this place, I won't even
- 59:27tell you. I have like let my actions speak
- 59:30louder than my own words. And these examples, they exist
- 59:33and I think they're so beautiful.
- 59:34In my case, our super role models are them, definitely
- 59:40them, one of the epics, the legends and you just go by the
- 59:44way, you go back the chain of the scholars, they land on
- 59:47adebate. One scholar studied under X who
- 59:52studied under X who studied under, for example, a Sheikh
- 59:56Murtaba Al Ansari, who studied back under, for example, I say
- 1:00:00Muhammad Hassan Ashirazi Sahab Thoratatum Pak, who studied
- 1:00:05under, for example, let's say. Say Sheikh Muhammad Hassan and
- 1:00:08Najafiz Sahab Jawahar Al Khalam, who studied for example, under
- 1:00:13Al Wahid Al Bahbahani, who studied under for example.
- 1:00:16Sheikh Kashif Al Kapa, who studied under for example, back
- 1:00:19and back and back and back. Al Muhak Al Kharaki back and
- 1:00:23back, who said under for example.
- 1:00:25Al Alam Al Heli, who back and back, back.
- 1:00:27Sheikh Al Tusi under Mufid under for example Saduk under been on
- 1:00:34me under for example Shell Kulani met or was in the
- 1:00:39lifetime of the third Sephir of Sahaba Zaman who was in touch
- 1:00:43with Sahaba Zaman student of his father.
- 1:00:45So his father, son of his father, linked directly.
- 1:00:51In many ways, they become like an extension to this golden
- 1:00:53chain. They are they are an extension
- 1:00:56to this golden chain and how honored are we to link into them
- 1:00:59That I take my lessons from the outer base through this
- 1:01:02beautiful like circuit that never ends.
- 1:01:08That's the beauty of it, as they find difference of opinions
- 1:01:11sounds. Very beautifully said and it
- 1:01:14brings us to the second question of the second segment and it's a
- 1:01:19deep 1. So shall I try to go as easy as
- 1:01:22possible, but I really want you both to be as frank as possible
- 1:01:26on this one. So this is like one of the most
- 1:01:28asked questions that we get had after Maghrib and we've put this
- 1:01:31question together. What safeguards exist to stop
- 1:01:35Homs from becoming manipulated, especially when people hear
- 1:01:39rumours of money disappearing and scholars misusing funds?
- 1:01:44Why is financial management placed in the hands of scholars
- 1:01:48when surely there's thousands of devout Shia accountants and
- 1:01:52consultants who could ensure transparency and professionalism
- 1:01:56when it comes to the world of Homs?
- 1:02:00I think a lot of the enemies of Islam will use this as a cheap
- 1:02:03shot on us to lower Jabbas with the permission of Samantha.
- 1:02:07Sayya voice here. I think it's an easy thing to
- 1:02:09say because it is an iconically Shia symbol.
- 1:02:13Yeah, Holmes is associated with Tashayyur and then you have it
- 1:02:16Samid Imam and Sahem Sada, the share of Sahab al Assam, the
- 1:02:19share of the underprivileged, Sayyud's of which do not receive
- 1:02:23zakat, so they are compensated with the Holmes.
- 1:02:25The share of the Sayyid Holmes goes to the underprivileged, the
- 1:02:29needy, the struggling. And at the end of the day, it's
- 1:02:33a type of charity. And so if someone's misusing
- 1:02:36charity, that's something we completely condemn.
- 1:02:39And we ask Yani before Allah, of course, Allah, but additionally,
- 1:02:43we ask the, the law to get involved.
- 1:02:45Someone's money is being misused.
- 1:02:47But at the end of the day, I, I, I cast extreme doubt on any
- 1:02:51legitimate example from any legitimate source.
- 1:02:54And if there is management mismanagement, that is where it
- 1:02:58stops at. It's mismanagement of a
- 1:02:59secretary, of a person transitioning funds, but not the
- 1:03:05scholar. If there is, we call this
- 1:03:08individual out, we speak to them, we make it clear.
- 1:03:11But at that point, this person wasn't a scholar.
- 1:03:13They didn't know their responsibility properly.
- 1:03:16And I cast major doubt on that. And those who exaggerate and
- 1:03:20embellish things because of, for example, lack of transparency.
- 1:03:23Oh, we didn't see. Therefore you must have just put
- 1:03:25it in your own pockets and moved on with that, that suit of 1 and
- 1:03:29the less pantana punishes for that.
- 1:03:32At the end of the day, it's a, it's a charity for that's a
- 1:03:35global malady team. And it's like who, who has the
- 1:03:38heart to even touch that? And because I think, and I am
- 1:03:41blunt in this because you said those be blunt.
- 1:03:43I think because it's a iconically Shia thing, as
- 1:03:47iconically Shia things are from Metam to morning and things of
- 1:03:52that nature, they're always going to be on the receiving end
- 1:03:56of, of, of criticism and things of that.
- 1:03:58It's something we've seen before.
- 1:03:59It's OK, But if you actually open the world and study it and
- 1:04:04you look into it, you'll find that no one is taking advantage
- 1:04:08of people's charity. That goes eventually and the
- 1:04:11results, the fruits of it. I say right now, go and check.
- 1:04:15We have charities, I don't even need to mention them, that have
- 1:04:17reached Afghanistan. Charities that have reached
- 1:04:20Lebanon, have reached Philistine.
- 1:04:23Just see the fruits of where this goes.
- 1:04:25See the fruits of looking into how many orphanages have opened
- 1:04:29up all of them from the homes that many cast doubt and
- 1:04:33question. At the end of the day, you give
- 1:04:35it's you've done your obligation.
- 1:04:37Don't worry about it. Allah, Allah takes what's his
- 1:04:40Allah is going to take care of his belongings.
- 1:04:42Don't worry about that one, but just look at the product of what
- 1:04:46happens, the orphanages, the women clinics, the centers, the
- 1:04:50hospitals. Just look and then come back and
- 1:04:54say, oh, this didn't go to where it needs to be.
- 1:04:56I I believe there's an agenda motivated, I'll intentioned
- 1:05:02reason when people actually put this.
- 1:05:03And if there is, we call for the law to address people
- 1:05:06mismanaging other people's funds, and it goes as far as
- 1:05:09that. I said beautifully said.
- 1:05:11Sometimes I feel if I can just add to your point, say it is
- 1:05:13that I feel like sometimes when we hear from members of our
- 1:05:17community who say I don't feel like my money's going to wear a
- 1:05:21shit. Show us let's let's call that
- 1:05:22out. It's not just about show us,
- 1:05:24it's about I think they just don't want to give homes they
- 1:05:26they feel like. Then don't make up a lie.
- 1:05:29Yeah, yeah. And then throw the ulama and
- 1:05:31this heritage of and don't throw those who are underprivileged
- 1:05:34and use them as an excuse and have some shame.
- 1:05:37You're using those who are underprivileged as your reason
- 1:05:39to not doing it. I mean 1/5 of your annual
- 1:05:43surplus, it's already a surplus. And it belongs to God doesn't?
- 1:05:46It's not even yours, it belongs to Allah and it's 1/5 of it.
- 1:05:49Don't give it, don't give it, don't give it.
- 1:05:52Say it now. Your thoughts?
- 1:05:53Say it on this. As you said in the question and
- 1:05:57said responded beautifully, we need to be extremely careful
- 1:06:01with the rumours, especially with the adult, not just out of
- 1:06:08Shia Tashi, but adult law sense. There are a number of great firm
- 1:06:14institutions in the Shia Muslim Ethna actually faith that we
- 1:06:20have that we see that are specifically targeted by the ADA
- 1:06:24by the enemies. One being the belief in the 12th
- 1:06:29Imam Imam Angela Imam, one being in the institute of Marjahiya
- 1:06:38that you believe in the Marjahiya constant attacks and
- 1:06:433rd being the Homs. And regards to this, as you
- 1:06:49mentioned yourself that there are rumours and these rumours of
- 1:06:54course we need to be extremely careful with because even our
- 1:06:58ulama, our Maharaja who the hadith narration say Olama,
- 1:07:03Omana, Omana are trustworthy ones.
- 1:07:09The Allah Subhanawat, Allah's Prophet and the Imams say that
- 1:07:14when you have an Emmy in this world, go to the you want an
- 1:07:19Emmy, you want someone trustworthy, go to thee Olama.
- 1:07:24So much so that before of course the bank world that we have
- 1:07:28today, it wasn't the case before and Meneen used to go to the
- 1:07:34Olama as a safeguarding of their of their funds, of their
- 1:07:42finances. Even today, a mirage estate that
- 1:07:48do not consider your homes being given as your Shara E Jew,
- 1:07:56Islamic religious Jew until you receive the receipt that you
- 1:08:02have paid your Samuel Imam that has been received and
- 1:08:09acknowledged and stamped by your respected Malja, the Malja's
- 1:08:16representative, the Malja's Waqib, the Malja's office.
- 1:08:22And you have now alhamdulillah, the transparency of many of the
- 1:08:24organisations who show the financial transactions.
- 1:08:30And again, I want to mention something personal.
- 1:08:32I've never mentioned this before, please what an and this
- 1:08:37is something personal, but I it's all relating to this.
- 1:08:42And you find this kind of rumours are expanding
- 1:08:46excessively. Why are you giving homes?
- 1:08:51Why giving Hadiya? Or look at the organizations,
- 1:08:55look at the centers, look at what they're doing.
- 1:08:58One week after I had the honor of receiving the Blessed Amama
- 1:09:03from Sam, I had to say it, Marjah, say the Sistani.
- 1:09:08It was during the 15th of Shaban, before the holy month of
- 1:09:14Ramadan. I came to London and I was
- 1:09:18entering an Islamic centre in the High Street just before I
- 1:09:26was, I think so the first week I'm in this.
- 1:09:30Attire. Attire wearing the amama in
- 1:09:34London. A car stopped.
- 1:09:38He put his window down. He doesn't know me and neither I
- 1:09:41know him. But this is what we need to be
- 1:09:44careful. Not for me, but we can see where
- 1:09:47the rumours and how people want to fuel.
- 1:09:50How they get influenced? He said Harami, say it.
- 1:09:52What have you done with the funds of the whole of Iraq and
- 1:09:55now you're here? A lot and.
- 1:09:57I thought to myself, I love to myself, wow, thinking look how
- 1:10:00much people wish to share rumours, fabricated news, so
- 1:10:10much. So that's become not just an
- 1:10:12economic issue, a political issue, but what to target Shia
- 1:10:19Muslims, Shia itna actually Muslim faith.
- 1:10:25Of course, the best response with the Hatabak Mujah Salaam
- 1:10:29Salaam. When I walked into the Islamic
- 1:10:31center and remembers of the 12th Imam and thought to myself that
- 1:10:36these kind of rumors are not just today, during the time of
- 1:10:40the Imams of the how much they used to say about the
- 1:10:44corruptions and what occurred and during the time of the Holy
- 1:10:47Prophets, Allah, Allah, you understand how much they used to
- 1:10:51stir rumors so that people do not show their love and support
- 1:10:56towards the Holy Prophet and Holy Imams and the holy albeit
- 1:11:02Allah Muslim. And as Sid mentioned that if
- 1:11:05there is mismanagement or if there is something, then that
- 1:11:09should be addressed, addressed to the the scholars or to those
- 1:11:15who are responsible and it should be taken care of.
- 1:11:18I would like to remind ourself of a grace incident of the one
- 1:11:24of the Ulema that when we go to the holy city of Najafil Ashraf,
- 1:11:30most of us who enter through Babul Kabbalah on the left and
- 1:11:36Ansari and he is reminded for of his fit work.
- 1:11:42This was all work but also this story is many times mentioned
- 1:11:46and you can see it also in anecdotes for reflection and I
- 1:11:51recommend our young ones especially to read these
- 1:11:54incidents of our Olama. I agree.
- 1:11:57Yeah. What what they went through.
- 1:12:01He says that the incident of one of his students or one of the
- 1:12:07members who loved him so much, he saw in the dream that Shaitan
- 1:12:12Oeblis says that I have all these threads, strings, ropes to
- 1:12:19pull people to my path. And then the one who was seeing
- 1:12:24Shaitan in the dream said, but what's this chain?
- 1:12:30And it's cut into fuses. They said I've tried to bring
- 1:12:33someone to my path and I've struggled.
- 1:12:36Shaitan Oeblis who Porto von Ansari Sheh Muto del Ansari,
- 1:12:45this dream, is there any relevance?
- 1:12:47What's it got to do with me? What should I do but let me go
- 1:12:50on related to the alim of the time, the febri of the time.
- 1:12:56Is there any background towards it?
- 1:13:00He informs him, and then he puts his head down with humility.
- 1:13:05He says there was a a caravan going to Umrah pilgrimage or
- 1:13:12Hajj, the Ziyarat and that's sahab al Hamble.
- 1:13:16He gave me a sack full of amanat and I took it and placed in the
- 1:13:23basement in the safe. After some time a few days we
- 1:13:29had some guests and the fan informed me that if you can get
- 1:13:36something or provide something for the for the guests we had
- 1:13:41water and dates and some simple offerings.
- 1:13:44Of course the Alema against some people.
- 1:13:48Again the rumours that they keep on saying it's not the truth.
- 1:13:51Go go visit the Alema where they are and their humble life, he
- 1:13:59said. I went to the safe in the
- 1:14:01basement and thought maybe I can borrow some of the money that's
- 1:14:07there from that sack and repay after a few days as he did not
- 1:14:12have the means at the time. He said a few times I went up
- 1:14:18the stairs, came back down, up the stairs, came back down until
- 1:14:21I left in the sea and said what if I pass away in the next day
- 1:14:25or two? No one knows how much I do, how
- 1:14:29much I need to give back. And we offered our guests what
- 1:14:34the dates and the water and the simple offering, he says.
- 1:14:37It may be that Shaitano Oblis wanted to make me take some of
- 1:14:42that, but I always remembered that, no, this is Amana and I'm
- 1:14:47sure that I'll give it back to Sahib Al Amana, even if he had,
- 1:14:52and he had the permission to do so.
- 1:14:55Even so. And this is what we need to
- 1:14:58remind ourselves of our own Aman the great role they have and how
- 1:15:03much you know we've seen in the Islamic laws book many of the
- 1:15:08amount they have the art. Yes, precaution, precaution with
- 1:15:13your and with mine and with your ferkey rulings.
- 1:15:19Indeed, they have also precaution with a lot of the
- 1:15:21financial transactions. They have so much the art and
- 1:15:27how much they take extra care to ensure that they are taken in
- 1:15:33the best. Of care certainly that's a very
- 1:15:34beautiful story and it allows us to reflect of and remember that
- 1:15:38our Olama are careful in these things, the mindful of
- 1:15:41everything that happens and it reminds me of a story all
- 1:15:44mentioned as long as when Imam Ali was in the treasury and the
- 1:15:47candle and things like this, like I want to learn from
- 1:15:51situations like this. We look up to their debate and
- 1:15:54inshallah, I do want to say first to me, Allah protect you
- 1:15:56and bless you. Thanks for sharing that personal
- 1:15:59incident that you came across and experienced.
- 1:16:02It goes to show that rumours can affect the Shia all around the
- 1:16:06world if we're not careful with these Chinese whispers when it
- 1:16:09comes to how Holmes is handled in our institutions.
- 1:16:12I just want to ask a further question on Holmes.
- 1:16:14There was a question that came today.
- 1:16:16It actually came in today on Instagram by one of our members
- 1:16:23from the aftermath audience, and he said he mentioned something
- 1:16:26else that I'll bring you up during the discussion.
- 1:16:29He said we live here in the West.
- 1:16:32Sometimes he feels as if though when he gives us Homs money and
- 1:16:37it's serving its purpose is going to places such as Iraq and
- 1:16:40it's looking after orphans, it's looking after with those,
- 1:16:43etcetera. But what about us here in the
- 1:16:46West? We have financial problems.
- 1:16:48We have orphans here as well. We have with those here as well.
- 1:16:51And there's no help from Homs money here in the West.
- 1:16:54Or at least maybe he doesn't know how to go seek it.
- 1:16:57But why do we feel why? Why do people feel like most of
- 1:17:01our homes money goes to specific countries and not here at home?
- 1:17:08Said, Can we relate from yourself, from the United?
- 1:17:11States for sure, I think, I think the beauty of having us
- 1:17:15here. We got the best of both.
- 1:17:17What you have said on top of that, I think the shared
- 1:17:20experiences between across the ponds, across the pond, as you
- 1:17:23say, and to be honest, most of the issues are common
- 1:17:26denominators. People deal with the same
- 1:17:28struggles and problems and issues.
- 1:17:30And on particularly this point, yeah, if there's an issue nearby
- 1:17:39and there has been given a certificate by the local
- 1:17:42institution that has received permission, a Jaza, A Jaza, A
- 1:17:48Jaza, the Salaam Hoku, Sharia homes, whatever.
- 1:17:51In fact, from the jurisprudential conditions of
- 1:17:55Zakat Al Fitra from Shahramahan, the watch of mandatory charity
- 1:18:00at the end of Shahramah, that is debated by every person who was
- 1:18:03a dependent of every household authority, is that it goes
- 1:18:09towards the first needed individual or person in need in
- 1:18:14your region, in area. If that is not something
- 1:18:18practical, as in that's not something that can be catered
- 1:18:21to, there really isn't something that can cater to that.
- 1:18:25Then you can send the outside and you can maybe deliver it to
- 1:18:29the matters that you follow and then they'll receive it and then
- 1:18:32they redistribute it to those in need.
- 1:18:35But it ought to be the case. The priority is local.
- 1:18:39And I think many institutions, both in America and Michigan,
- 1:18:44particularly here in in London, simply request, you know, does
- 1:18:49this center have permission such that I can give my, my, my
- 1:18:54charity, my Sadafat, my zakat, my homes to you and then they
- 1:18:59will use it to allocate to those who are in need.
- 1:19:04There was a lady here whose, whose legal status is, is, is
- 1:19:09struggling. She had just moved.
- 1:19:11Immigration is not a topic. She's financially, you know,
- 1:19:15struggling fiscally, she's old and you know, people are sending
- 1:19:21their homes to our institutions and one would imagine, you know,
- 1:19:25they're just being sent to Iraq and this lady right here is
- 1:19:27coming for help. One phone call.
- 1:19:29We have this lady. You have permission to give her
- 1:19:31from the Sam of Imam and Mehdi. Imam and Mehdi share Imam and
- 1:19:34Mehdi with wire. It's just a quick phone call.
- 1:19:37You'd be surprised that the will not tell you bring it here
- 1:19:42instead they'll tell you no no. If there's an issue existing
- 1:19:45pre-existing near you deal with it.
- 1:19:47Someone struggling someone abandoned the those who are
- 1:19:54young children who are orphans especially that's a priority.
- 1:19:59That's Ola. But at times apprentices I have
- 1:20:03and I want to give you can give in two ways.
- 1:20:05You can give in just from the door of Sadaqa Charity requires
- 1:20:08no one's permission, no one's approval here I have to do give
- 1:20:11Sadaqa. You can give Sadaqa to even
- 1:20:14those who are non-Muslims if they're.
- 1:20:16Decent people as well. This has been granted as
- 1:20:18permission priority and this is just natural goes to your own
- 1:20:23fellow believer who's struggling and get prioritized remote
- 1:20:26meaning remote may not they're with you and then help others as
- 1:20:30well as you can. So there are a list of
- 1:20:31priorities as far as your family if they're abandoned you can go
- 1:20:34somewhere else and that's like a level ask you something around
- 1:20:36what's going on over here and then there's also institutions
- 1:20:40that have received certification to provide this is our example
- 1:20:43in in Michigan. This is very common.
- 1:20:45This is very and we fell Hamdulillah our or they might
- 1:20:49look out for us. I said sitting all the way in
- 1:20:51Najaf, go on to Haran where else?
- 1:20:54And they say, listen, if you have needs here, you have
- 1:20:56permission to spend it. And that's not, I mean, that's
- 1:20:59not a concern. So.
- 1:20:59It's very reassuring to hear Saeedna.
- 1:21:02I definitely said that. I think also I said that Yani
- 1:21:06and Hamdullah explained really well.
- 1:21:10We need to also remind my name that Holmes is split into two.
- 1:21:12There is that you have the complete freedom of giving it to
- 1:21:21a poor Sayed. That's Sam Asad.
- 1:21:23You don't need to ask the office of the manager or the permission
- 1:21:28of the manager. And as long as that Sam Asada,
- 1:21:32the portion of the Sayed is under the conditions, for
- 1:21:36example of the poverty or or the need, then you can give it to
- 1:21:42the individual yourself. And that Sahmul Imam, the share
- 1:21:46of the Imam, again, many of the centers, schools, institutes of
- 1:21:52various places, they have the ijaza and we have some
- 1:21:57organizations in the Shia Muslim world that they remind them that
- 1:22:06we have the ijaza of the respected motherja.
- 1:22:09And the ijaza is for us to prioritize our own centres, our
- 1:22:16own communities and our own work.
- 1:22:20And that in itself gives us the opportunity of growth, internal
- 1:22:25growth. Now sometimes you have that kind
- 1:22:28of question. Yes.
- 1:22:29I had another situation last week where we had the
- 1:22:34opportunity to visit one of the communities and we have some
- 1:22:38people actually say I would love to give to the more, many more
- 1:22:43many in Afghanistan, more many in the various parts of the
- 1:22:46world and they'll ask us how. Do we give it?
- 1:22:47Yeah. So you find that we need to also
- 1:22:50know that there are people who have various queries in this
- 1:22:54matter. Yes, in your own local vicinity
- 1:22:58when there is the need and give. That would be a beautiful point
- 1:23:06to start with this. Beautiful example.
- 1:23:08Say it as you remember when the crisis in Libnan happened,
- 1:23:11Harmar Raja said. Listen 3/4 or all completely of
- 1:23:16all the homes just send it there.
- 1:23:18No. Skips and you get to me and I
- 1:23:20give it. Just send it there.
- 1:23:22People are struggling, they need help.
- 1:23:24Homes are destroyed. Imam Mahdi wants this as they
- 1:23:27just just send it. Any organization that you can
- 1:23:29confirm is delivering or do it that.
- 1:23:31Sounds beautiful, Beautiful. So I don't know, We are more
- 1:23:34than halfway through Inshallah. Now we enter the final segment
- 1:23:37from today's questions. And this is this is actually
- 1:23:40quite interesting because it's relating to artificial
- 1:23:43intelligence and regarding adaptability.
- 1:23:47With AI answering fatwas faster than humans, should scholars
- 1:23:51evolve or risk slowly fading into irrelevance in years to
- 1:23:55come? And the world of artificial
- 1:23:57intelligence being discussed? Sorry, is the world of
- 1:24:01artificial intelligence being discussed in scholarly circles?
- 1:24:04And if so, how is it being addressed?
- 1:24:08AIAI discussed. It is being discussed.
- 1:24:11You know, the let, the latest and newest thing is always at
- 1:24:14the forefront of the concerns of local scholars, regional and
- 1:24:20even the House of seminary. These are discussions that are
- 1:24:23being held at a basic level to see what's going on.
- 1:24:28What's this thing that's trending?
- 1:24:29And yeah, this is well known. My father personally is is well
- 1:24:32familiar with ChatGPT and utilizes it to his best
- 1:24:37advantage and interest. And he says these things are
- 1:24:41blessings from Allah. But there is that concern, you
- 1:24:44know, if Candace take over one day and at the end of the day,
- 1:24:49just remind yourself of the acronym.
- 1:24:51It's artificial intelligence. It's not genuine intelligence.
- 1:24:55It's not GI genuine intelligence, yes.
- 1:24:58And what would the difference be if they're just doing the same
- 1:25:00thing? One is pattern recognition.
- 1:25:03It just knows that when you say hi, how are you?
- 1:25:06The response is going to be typically good.
- 1:25:08How are you? It's just that's the average.
- 1:25:10Programs. Programming algorithm.
- 1:25:14What you are discussing in regards to leadership and the
- 1:25:19new age thing involves a bit more than that.
- 1:25:22It involves an intelligence that is intertwined with faith.
- 1:25:28Bates make mention that the island who you are to emulate is
- 1:25:35one who whoever looks at the Haram of ours and the Haram of
- 1:25:42ours and is obedient to their Lord, submitting to his will
- 1:25:47against what he doesn't approve away from his own desires.
- 1:25:52These things can't be done by a robot obedient to the Lord
- 1:25:56against his own, you know, desires and wills forbearance
- 1:26:01with when it comes to the distractions and things of that
- 1:26:03nature. That means there's a soul,
- 1:26:05right? And so I think scholars use
- 1:26:08this. I've seen many who utilize and
- 1:26:10benefit from this. It's never going to replace.
- 1:26:13But just aids them. Aids it's assisting.
- 1:26:15It's like, listen, I need a narration really quickly and you
- 1:26:18have to also be careful. Sometimes it gives you a source
- 1:26:20that's not you have to also do your own due diligence.
- 1:26:22If you can't replace your own research.
- 1:26:25This is a way to help you organize and structure things
- 1:26:28and in in in in doing my masters, I benefited a lot from
- 1:26:32structuring. Give me a layout, a template and
- 1:26:35I'm like, you know what? This could be useful if back at
- 1:26:38the House of days, which, by the way, never end.
- 1:26:40How's it always continuous? You always learn in Masha'allah.
- 1:26:45This could be a well, you know, useful, resourceful tool to help
- 1:26:49structure, you know, a list of aspects of rules, of conditions,
- 1:26:54of the exceptions in a very convenient way.
- 1:26:57I don't see any risk in it. I don't see any concern.
- 1:27:00I think the concerns are superficial because nothing will
- 1:27:03replace a genuine soul as Heckman as opposed to something
- 1:27:07that just knows pattern recognition.
- 1:27:09And no, this is on the forefront.
- 1:27:10This genuinely is in regards to discussions and what are the
- 1:27:14risks, What are the pros and how can we navigate it.
- 1:27:16You know what I remember, I remember YouTube, YouTube when
- 1:27:19it first came out, It was a discussion between us back in
- 1:27:23the day as it appropriate to upload our videos on YouTube
- 1:27:27because it has music. You know what became a recent
- 1:27:30discussion? TikTok as well, is it OK if we
- 1:27:33make because it has this as well.
- 1:27:36And so, but where do we do this on our own record?
- 1:27:38We seek the advice of our leaders, of our Lama.
- 1:27:41What do you think this platform, is it befitting or not?
- 1:27:44And so in order for them to answer, they have to be familiar
- 1:27:47with it. They have to be.
- 1:27:48AI is definitely one of those as well.
- 1:27:49It's not an exception. That sounds beautiful.
- 1:27:52Yes, definitely. In the last few years, I've even
- 1:27:54noticed some of the topic titles of Maginus.
- 1:27:57Yeah, I've been a whole topic lecture about artificial
- 1:28:01intelligence, AI and is it going to replace the ITIL law is going
- 1:28:07to replace the ulema? And I think there was one done
- 1:28:09by say that Muhammad Baker Kazwini.
- 1:28:11Correct recently. So it is has always been a
- 1:28:15discussion in the last few years.
- 1:28:17And we need to also be extremely careful as we have seen
- 1:28:22sometimes a number of mistakes. Remember, these mistakes are not
- 1:28:28about for example, a formula or something like that.
- 1:28:32It's about your Salah or for example, you're a bad or for
- 1:28:37example, certain rituals that has given that has been given by
- 1:28:43these. Sometimes even apps now are
- 1:28:46using AI and you're asking an Islamic question and it gives
- 1:28:50you and we've seen we've tested it a few times and gives a wrong
- 1:28:53response. So we need to give extreme care
- 1:28:58and think about a few times. So we shouldn't be asking, for
- 1:29:02example, chat GBC Islamic rulings.
- 1:29:05Rather things such as, you know, I lost the part, Alice's first,
- 1:29:09I had a Dick the last one to give us the go to the go to the
- 1:29:17go to the Holy Prophet, go to the go to those who are aware of
- 1:29:21the rulings, aware of the scholarly advice, go to them.
- 1:29:27So those listening and watching Don.
- 1:29:32I feel like a lot of scholars just touch on these topics
- 1:29:35because it's trending topics and they don't actually like delve
- 1:29:38into it too much. For example, with crypto, when
- 1:29:42it first became a trend, every scholar was talking about it and
- 1:29:47I felt as if a lot of scholars were just going on whatever the
- 1:29:50first thing that came to their mind without.
- 1:29:52And then later on, as things developed, they learnt more and
- 1:29:54more and then ideas started changing.
- 1:29:58How, how, how should we like listen to these sort of things?
- 1:30:04So trend is a huge thing now even in I mean not just here in
- 1:30:10the Western world, but we find trend or whatever's now
- 1:30:15trending. Trending is something that many
- 1:30:18of even speakers or those who are on social media are using to
- 1:30:24share their scholarly opinion or their views on it.
- 1:30:30As mentioned, for example, even about cryptocurrency.
- 1:30:34But what we need to do is refer to the Ulema and the Malaja
- 1:30:39regards to these rules, regards to these topics.
- 1:30:43And again with Hikma, and sometimes you find that's that
- 1:30:49animal knowledge may give an precaution in it.
- 1:30:54Don't expect an animal to give immediately.
- 1:30:57Yeah, the straightaway response. Why are they not responding?
- 1:31:00Well, I've just sent a message, or I've just sent an e-mail I
- 1:31:02don't want. It just takes time.
- 1:31:03Yeah, yeah. There needs to be a Moreover,
- 1:31:07there needs to be a scholarly discussion about it, especially
- 1:31:12with these new phenomena or trending issues that are
- 1:31:18occurring needs to be huge expertise level discussions
- 1:31:26regards to these matters. And some of them are mature in
- 1:31:30itself. Some of them are like, in
- 1:31:34reality, we don't know what's going on.
- 1:31:36We need to know more and more and more.
- 1:31:38And therefore you find, especially in some of these
- 1:31:41topics, the various scholarly opinions in this matter.
- 1:31:45Sense of sense of AH. I, I, I, I couldn't agree more.
- 1:31:50Yeah, I need trends are, you know, at the same time, while
- 1:31:55they are annoying, they are at least important to at least, you
- 1:31:59know, know what is popular, what's influencing my son.
- 1:32:03Yeah. What are they going to be
- 1:32:04listening to? And I think, I think, you know,
- 1:32:06we have to look up the cup half full at times and see well.
- 1:32:10Clearly. The scholar sees that there's a
- 1:32:12need, and he's like, let me address.
- 1:32:13It yeah, I do feel like just to add also to Mr. Best question
- 1:32:17and an answer if possible, if I can't say it often with your
- 1:32:19permission, is that I think sometimes trends are important
- 1:32:24because in many ways it affects the Muslims are on the wall.
- 1:32:28There you go. And if it's not being addressed
- 1:32:30and people are just hopping on these trends and don't know if
- 1:32:33it's OK to follow or pursue, then they may be, you know, no.
- 1:32:37No, my thing is I feel like scholars just.
- 1:32:40Disingenuous. For the sake of it, just because
- 1:32:43it's the trending because. It's popular, so they give.
- 1:32:45They don't like you might feel like they don't actually know
- 1:32:47what they're talking about, so. You mean they don't answer the
- 1:32:50trend head on, they just discuss it because they think it's
- 1:32:53relevant? Yeah, just because everyone's
- 1:32:55chatting about it, but it's like I said, Ali said.
- 1:32:57It's it's nice that they'll they'll give you AT out before,
- 1:33:00which is what you should expect from them rather than trying to
- 1:33:03jump to a conclusion. You're right.
- 1:33:05I think there are two ways this works.
- 1:33:07One person might tell you listen because it's very hot.
- 1:33:11I think it's worth discussing. People will pay attention.
- 1:33:14May Allah bless that person. At the same time, I I see that
- 1:33:19I'm optimistic that most of our upright people who speak on the
- 1:33:22monopoly who say that this is not a small position.
- 1:33:25This is the member of Adel Bait that they take this for serious
- 1:33:29and they are responsible and they say, look, I know this is
- 1:33:32going to be a very controversial when COVID kicked in.
- 1:33:36What was everyone's favorite lecture about all COVID really
- 1:33:39is this a Latina from Allah? What's going on?
- 1:33:42Is this signs of reappearance? Some may have jumped on the
- 1:33:45whole, it's a it's a hot topic and I cannot but talk about it.
- 1:33:50Crisis occurs or genocide in certain regions of the world.
- 1:33:54It makes sense to discuss these things.
- 1:33:56So on one hand, I'm not going to for example, assume the worst I,
- 1:33:59but at the same time, you should ought to address issues that are
- 1:34:03relevant and necessary. And if it's an area that you
- 1:34:07feel person X didn't do so good of a job, let me assume that
- 1:34:13this was their humble conclusion and not aim at this disingenuine
- 1:34:18only looking for a trend as opposed to, for example, genuine
- 1:34:21wants to maybe maybe this was their way.
- 1:34:24You know, I'm not sure of seeing.
- 1:34:27I mean, I could do a service to society.
- 1:34:29And if one doesn't, you know, fit your bill, I think there's
- 1:34:31going to be others that also discuss this.
- 1:34:33Trends are important to at least follow.
- 1:34:35Why not follow in the sense, by the way, of trying to see what's
- 1:34:38what's going on, what's popular, not to at least not to mimic.
- 1:34:42There was a campaign me and a few brothers decided to jump on
- 1:34:46is the Imam and Mehdi trend, where we wanted to get the
- 1:34:49#imamahdi or Yamahdi trending. And I don't think it was because
- 1:34:56of like my effort necessarily, but it was a collective
- 1:34:59initiative where we got in the top ten trending hashtags in
- 1:35:03Canada was Yamahdi beautiful. So the whole country of Canada,
- 1:35:06it just happened to be that everyone pulled in together on
- 1:35:09this one day. 15. I just all share this as much as
- 1:35:11you can with this hashtag. Top 10 was ya Mahdi.
- 1:35:14So now awoke awoke a a fire inside us all.
- 1:35:18We can also make the trend. We are trend setters.
- 1:35:21We can set the trend as opposed to just have to be in relatively
- 1:35:24as a following trend. So yeah.
- 1:35:25And in Charlotte, I I hope and I pray that everyone is doing
- 1:35:30their best. If it's not done in the the
- 1:35:32maybe the most effective way. It's just not about, you know,
- 1:35:35their lack of genuinity and Charlotte how it is.
- 1:35:39Everyone's just trying their best.
- 1:35:40Of course, of course, no beautiful answers, but I think
- 1:35:43one thing we gathered regarding AI is that no one can replace
- 1:35:46our Olama. And certainly Allah says, you
- 1:35:48know, we establish in this world Khalifa.
- 1:35:51So Chat GPTA replacing any want. I'm interested to know we can't
- 1:35:54replace the Olama with ChatGPT, but can we replace?
- 1:35:58Oh, Mr. Hi Little. We're Donald Co host, by the
- 1:36:03way. How do you?
- 1:36:04Replace him with an artificial. We can get a photo, We have a
- 1:36:09photo in the background that's. A sensitive topic an.
- 1:36:11Unofficial An unofficial vocal. Inshallah we see him soon back
- 1:36:14on the podcast Shala mentioning him and Fairly does send his
- 1:36:16alarms by. Let's them protect them as well.
- 1:36:18Nothing can replace. YouTube accent accent for Ahmed
- 1:36:21we Allah protect them. Are we replaceable or am I
- 1:36:23replaceable? Are you that to say wish them
- 1:36:25what's all in his hands that's priceless.
- 1:36:28So that in regards to adaptability, I think we're
- 1:36:31going to come to the final question in this segment.
- 1:36:34And I, I think this one that something we can all relate to.
- 1:36:37It's a hot topic when it comes to, for example, the matters of
- 1:36:40philistine and Gaza, things like this.
- 1:36:42And the question is, why do some scholars actively address urgent
- 1:36:46social political issues in their sermons, while others refrain
- 1:36:50citing caution? Where should the line between
- 1:36:53wisdom and responsibility be drawn?
- 1:36:57And if we can use the example of Gaza in your answers.
- 1:37:01Of course, we look up towards our Maraja and our Olama and the
- 1:37:09advice from the scholars regards to these matters, social,
- 1:37:15political and the events that have taken place in Philistine
- 1:37:20and Reza. Of course, we look up to the
- 1:37:24Maraja and their statements and the statements that occurred on
- 1:37:30a number of occasions regards to what occurred during the events
- 1:37:35in the last few years. And you find some of the more
- 1:37:39Menin or some of the scholars or some of the speakers would like
- 1:37:42to relate it directly, Some want to analyse it.
- 1:37:47The Office of the Menagerie, These are the verdicts and these
- 1:37:52are the statements and this is what I would like to share with
- 1:37:57you all. And some of them, the Olama
- 1:38:01themselves would like to also give their scholarly view in
- 1:38:07addition that Alma Raja, what's their verdict?
- 1:38:11And now my remember we said that there are Olama, there are Olama
- 1:38:16who have expertise and are aware of the situation and the
- 1:38:22scenario. And you have many of those who
- 1:38:25are in their Friday sermons who would like to share the current,
- 1:38:32current affairs and current events that are taking place.
- 1:38:35Of course, with this, with this event and with these events,
- 1:38:39with these tragic events that are taking place, we need to
- 1:38:43relate to the 12th amount. We need to relate to the one who
- 1:38:49Inshallah will be returning justice and peace and it should
- 1:38:54be an opportunity for us to really yearn for his arrival and
- 1:39:00really relate that without him there is for us no true survival
- 1:39:05and we need the hastening of the reappearance of our way to the
- 1:39:10amount. It should also reflect on our
- 1:39:14position, our mahalm towards our of the amount and our love
- 1:39:20towards the AL Bait. Our name was Salaam, our love
- 1:39:23towards Imam and Hussein and Awalu, Imam Amir al Mumin, Awalu
- 1:39:28Matlu, the Holy Prophet, How much I've done that was towards
- 1:39:31him. Where would I be?
- 1:39:33Where would I be on the day of Ashura?
- 1:39:36Imam Hussain Magloom Nagloom. I had a debate and should be
- 1:39:40again for us all, a self reflection events that are
- 1:39:44taking place in the world today and the versatile race in the
- 1:39:48world here. And my heart, and my position
- 1:39:54and my gander. Said something.
- 1:39:59These tragedies, I think, have not gone overlooked.
- 1:40:04Our ulama were the first and among the first on the forefront
- 1:40:08to condemn them. And I think sometimes people see
- 1:40:11that the job has been done in a very effective way.
- 1:40:16So in one way they see that, look, our representative acted
- 1:40:21on our behalf and. Did an exceptional job by making
- 1:40:25it quite clear that I vehemently condemn in the name of God, in
- 1:40:29the name of humanity. Not only that, we will do our
- 1:40:32best, allocate funds, support those who are resisting.
- 1:40:36Try to pray as well though undermine prayer.
- 1:40:38It's our Olamahu at the forefront and it trickles down
- 1:40:42from those who are on the top the Medjanian and Najaf
- 1:40:45anywhere. And and Subhanallah, I mean, if
- 1:40:48people keep saying this notion of our scholars, the bicker,
- 1:40:52they have fights and things like that, no, they're united.
- 1:40:55Look at this one issue, all of them.
- 1:40:57And I mean genuinely without exception, there was no island
- 1:41:00Dean from our representative representary world of the
- 1:41:04seminary, except that they spoke out and they condemned the issue
- 1:41:07statements and they said everyone can do this is a tech
- 1:41:09leaf, etcetera. And on one hand, you have to
- 1:41:12also recall that there are influencer scholars and may
- 1:41:16Allah bless them and protect them who do the good work, who
- 1:41:19are out there, who are speaking directly to the youth.
- 1:41:21And there are those who are scholars, but they're not
- 1:41:23influencers. And just because they haven't
- 1:41:26done it, you know, opposed or shared something doesn't mean
- 1:41:30that number 1. And I know this might sound
- 1:41:33superficial, but they have at least prayed.
- 1:41:36And I think I say that because people say, what's with your
- 1:41:38prayers? Don't undermine the power of
- 1:41:40prayer. Their hearts were with them if
- 1:41:42you want their voices to be with them, I'm sure their voices
- 1:41:45would be there if maybe their circumstances were more
- 1:41:47convenient for that. Oftentimes people need to recall
- 1:41:50there are scholars are limited based on resources and place as
- 1:41:53well. And the best way to be effective
- 1:41:56is in ways that maybe you did not see publicly, but you don't
- 1:41:59know what he's doing behind the scenes encouraging other what we
- 1:42:02need to rise to stat to speak the legal restrictions as well.
- 1:42:06Some might say give up all of that and and rise.
- 1:42:10That's your discretion, but there's a greater purpose of
- 1:42:14priority. And often times these risks,
- 1:42:18these are done or not done unless they're they're using the
- 1:42:24advice and the guidelines of their superior of their
- 1:42:28authority. What is our tech leaf?
- 1:42:30And I think this is a question we all ask, What is my duty
- 1:42:32here? That was something that made us
- 1:42:34all sad. And till today, it's like, what
- 1:42:37am I supposed to do when I'm just watching on my phone here?
- 1:42:40Our duty was #1 to see where we stand in history so that our
- 1:42:43hearts were in the right place. And the way to do that is
- 1:42:46through these. And some of them are being very
- 1:42:49vocal because of their circumstances.
- 1:42:51Allowed. And this is the Quranic metric.
- 1:42:53And everyone does that which they are most effective and able
- 1:43:02to do. It's your position to speak
- 1:43:05because you have that platform, you have that space.
- 1:43:08I felt in my personal sense, that kind of responsibility on
- 1:43:11my end as I do have that access, I have that reach.
- 1:43:15Others said, listen, I may not have this, but I manage a
- 1:43:18community. However, I'm restricted because
- 1:43:21I am watched and I have a lot of conditions that I have to
- 1:43:25maintain to manage my position here.
- 1:43:28But what I will do is this. I will make it so obvious that
- 1:43:31we condemn violence, atrocities and today we have to stand
- 1:43:34together when there are demonstrations.
- 1:43:36That's my role, but I can't be as vocal yet.
- 1:43:38Everyone serves a role down to the house.
- 1:43:41Mothers will say, listen, my daughter, I know your heart is
- 1:43:43broken. Her role is to remind her that
- 1:43:46we have an imam as well to give her hope.
- 1:43:49And that's from the smallest case to the largest, from that
- 1:43:52mom talking to her daughter to the merger Dean who's saying I'm
- 1:43:55going to issue a statement, but I want hope from the imam of my
- 1:43:58time. Because at the end of the day,
- 1:43:59they also are beseeching from that little girl to that grand
- 1:44:03epic paragon of intelligence sitting in the house.
- 1:44:06Both of them are praying for one thing, that at the end of the
- 1:44:09day, there's an imam out there. And so everyone does what they
- 1:44:12can. It's all circumstantial.
- 1:44:13It's all relative to their situation.
- 1:44:16And just because some you may not have seen publicly, you
- 1:44:19cannot judge and say, well, there was no activity in ways we
- 1:44:23do not perceive and realize that they may have been so public
- 1:44:26about what they wanted. And some of the best of actions
- 1:44:28are done without you even knowing where credit is given
- 1:44:31and the best credit is given to the Imam of our time.
- 1:44:33It's only a miracle we still stand today with all the
- 1:44:36persecution, with all the hatred, with all that that has
- 1:44:39been going on. And that's a testament that if
- 1:44:42he's the reason through Allah, then he will be the solution as
- 1:44:46well as shalatan. Son to Mahsatam, very
- 1:44:48beautifully said. And on that note, we end today's
- 1:44:51episodes. Allah Mahajala Willika Farah is
- 1:44:54taken from this towards the end of the segments.
- 1:44:58May Allah, you know, bring ease and peace towards the region in
- 1:45:01the Middle East and to those suffering in the Gaza, and then
- 1:45:04to the siege and then to the killing, to the violence and the
- 1:45:06massacres that take place on a daily basis.
- 1:45:08And may Allah and Shallah give them that relief so that thank
- 1:45:11you so much for today. I've genuinely benefited so
- 1:45:14much. If I ask any question like you
- 1:45:16felt I'm very uncomfortable with, please forgive me.
- 1:45:19They were not from me. They were not written by me.
- 1:45:21They were written by the team collectively.
- 1:45:23So if I'm in trouble, everyone else is in trouble.
- 1:45:25Enough the matter. But no, seriously, thank you for
- 1:45:27being frank and genuinely with the answers.
- 1:45:29And the Charlotte aim of this episode was to, you know, offer
- 1:45:32clarity to those asking these questions.
- 1:45:35And I wouldn't ask these questions to anyone else.
- 1:45:37So thank you. Thank you.
- 1:45:39For being you on the member of the member on screen, behind
- 1:45:43screen. And I'll say this openly
- 1:45:45whenever I'm in your presence. Voila.
- 1:45:46I feel like I can be the most ignorant person, but you do not
- 1:45:50make me feel that. So thank you for the work that
- 1:45:52you do. We Allah give you the topic to
- 1:45:54continue this work. Can I mention one thing please?
- 1:45:57And it's a mention of narration because we were mentioning we
- 1:46:01have a narration. Of.
- 1:46:06There is a huge gap if a scholar passes away, there is a huge gap
- 1:46:12in Islam that will keep on feeding and feeding and feeding
- 1:46:18till the day of judgement. And how many times we've had our
- 1:46:23beloved Al Amar senior scholars or Al Amar who have passed away
- 1:46:29and we really feel that gap and we feel that missing Alim in our
- 1:46:39presence. So we truly need to treasure our
- 1:46:42Adama, honor our Adama today and really constantly and
- 1:46:48continuously remember that these Adama are what I thought to them
- 1:46:53beyond and shallow. We are of those who follow the
- 1:46:58teachings and advice of Adama. Recently we've had our dear
- 1:47:02Adama who and Adama who in the past few years who've passed
- 1:47:07away, I believe. And you're respected, father,
- 1:47:10may Allah bless his soul. I remember them as a Hosseini
- 1:47:15Khatib and a true one that we used to attempt his majalis and
- 1:47:19remembrance. And let's recite a Surat Al
- 1:47:22Mubarak Al Fatah for the Olama who passed away and all the Aman
- 1:47:32homin. You're saying that you know the
- 1:47:45apple doesn't fall far from the tree from a Husseini to a
- 1:47:49Husseini. May Allah bless you and protect
- 1:47:52you safe we were talking about. And Mashallah, you are a shining
- 1:47:57example of the fruit of such examples as well.
- 1:48:00May Allah bless you and protect you and may Allah grant that
- 1:48:03Ahmed to all The Who mean in this community from the United
- 1:48:06States. We felt the loss of Sama had
- 1:48:08said Ayatollah father and Milani as well and how that has left a
- 1:48:12gap genuinely till today, people only sing his praise Ulamah that
- 1:48:17have left their presence. And sometimes you don't know
- 1:48:20what you have until it's gone. So let's try our best to
- 1:48:23recognize the name before before it vanishes.
- 1:48:26At the same time, it's not all sad because Al Ali more height
- 1:48:30or in kind of how much do we still talk about them as if
- 1:48:35they're with us right now because they're alive even if
- 1:48:38they have passed and those of the ignorance they're dead even
- 1:48:41if they're talking in front of you blabbering all day saying
- 1:48:44that whole the homes is going away and not being utilized as a
- 1:48:48yeah, those people are dead to me.
- 1:48:50But in any case, may Allah bless you and bless our inshallah.
- 1:48:53Let us recognize their name before it's too late.
- 1:48:56May Allah bless them. Ahsan tamahsan Tami, Allah bless
- 1:48:59you Mahomi and thank you for the kind words.
- 1:49:02May Allah bless all our Alamah that have passed and Shallah
- 1:49:05protect all the Alamah who are alive until today.
- 1:49:07Because we continue to benefit from them and learn from them in
- 1:49:11many ways. They are more than just
- 1:49:12spiritual guys. We can call them our fathers.
- 1:49:14And when we lose our Alamah we actually do feel often.
- 1:49:17And of course we also remember we brought up say father and
- 1:49:20Milani. I remember we discussed like
- 1:49:22with his loss, who can represent the gap that's now gone from
- 1:49:28knowledge in London. And those are discussions
- 1:49:30regarding this. And it just goes to show how
- 1:49:32much Alamar play a critical role in our day-to-day lives.
- 1:49:36And the Sha Allah. If you liked this episode, if
- 1:49:39you enjoyed the questions we asked, and if you want to see
- 1:49:41more episodes like this where we bring scholars on and we ask
