- 0:56Speaker 1: Bootleg CAV Show special guests, one of the oh of
- 1:00Speaker 1: a generation while a though, what how you know, first
- 1:05Speaker 1: of all, this new album, it is a great body
- 1:08Speaker 1: of work front to back.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Thank you very much.
- 1:11Speaker 1: You know you have like a knack of like like
- 1:14Speaker 1: you have like these really interpersonal songs on this album,
- 1:16Speaker 1: but like the whole shit just sounds like a single,
- 1:18Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Like you're just really good at like joints.
- 1:23Speaker 4: And I appreciate it, man, I appreciate it. I'm grateful
- 1:27Speaker 4: like to get that reception from you. But now I've
- 1:30Speaker 4: just been ducked off. I mean just you know, like
- 1:33Speaker 4: just living like everything is a lot like after COVID,
- 1:36Speaker 4: everything's been like crazy for sure, So I'm just documenting it.
- 1:40Speaker 1: What has your experience been like because you were with
- 1:42Speaker 1: Warner for so many years obviously the MMG situation, the
- 1:46Speaker 1: Warner situation was very fruitful for you in your career.
- 1:48Speaker 1: What has it been like transitioning to a new situation
- 1:51Speaker 1: to death Jam Well, I.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Think I just like wasn't even on Warner that long
- 1:54Speaker 4: for real, Like I think when I left Atlantic.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Well it was kind of like the Atlantic.
- 1:58Speaker 4: I had the two albums too, I want to Ambition
- 2:01Speaker 4: was Atlantic Ambition all the way? Yeah, ambition was at
- 2:07Speaker 4: it was Warner, then it was Atlantic.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Uh and there was like switched from like Atlantic to warn.
- 2:13Speaker 3: It was pretty strange, confusing.
- 2:16Speaker 4: We're still confused, but like you know, getting to be
- 2:20Speaker 4: I feel like I'm new artists a little bit, like
- 2:22Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, like because you know, like
- 2:25Speaker 4: I'm I'm, I'm, I'm I'm presented as myself like like
- 2:29Speaker 4: just wila, you know, and it's just a different thing.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Like even the interview questions are different. It ain't really
- 2:36Speaker 4: like you know what I'm saying. It's like it's not
- 2:37Speaker 4: always like MMG Center. But like I said, I love
- 2:41Speaker 4: Ross like I love them that of.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Course, of course.
- 2:42Speaker 1: But I do feel like at a certain point in
- 2:44Speaker 1: time in your career, I mean you got, there was
- 2:45Speaker 1: always an MMG question, Yeah you got?
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 4: So you know, so like when I when I dropped
- 2:51Speaker 4: out of school, I was with Mark Ronson and jay
- 2:54Speaker 4: Z and them, like you know what I'm saying. Then
- 2:56Speaker 4: then I went from like like that to being MMG.
- 2:59Speaker 4: And like now it's like Okay, you're out, You're doing
- 3:02Speaker 4: everything you like you got, You're doing your thing, you
- 3:04Speaker 4: have your own team, you have your own label, your
- 3:06Speaker 4: own building, So it's different a little bit.
- 3:09Speaker 1: How do you look back at because it's crazy to
- 3:12Speaker 1: like when you're like living in it and like as
- 3:14Speaker 1: a DJ and a consumer, I didn't realize how special
- 3:19Speaker 1: the blog erarow was. So now when I look back
- 3:21Speaker 1: and I just think about like clicking on z share links.
- 3:23Speaker 4: And going to Spoiled Man.
- 3:28Speaker 1: But you are like one of the pillars of that era,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and you were kind of like one of the first
- 3:34Speaker 1: guys of that era.
- 3:37Speaker 2: How do you look back at that era of your
- 3:39Speaker 2: career and just.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Just I just think a lot of people forget don't
- 3:42Speaker 4: understand like my like what like like they don't even
- 3:46Speaker 4: know a lot of peoplen't really know how it got here.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Like because the first song I ever played your underground
- 3:50Speaker 1: hip hop show and I cleaned up Go Mode?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Were you a sampled jay Z.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Going to be on it? And Trey?
- 3:58Speaker 4: Yeah that was a fun time as Yeah, you know
- 4:03Speaker 4: how I can't say the game was different though, because
- 4:05Speaker 4: I was like I was like locally famous, but I
- 4:08Speaker 4: was still in school and had a job, you know
- 4:11Speaker 4: what I'm saying. But they playing like two of my
- 4:12Speaker 4: songs on radio, Like so like when when when the
- 4:16Speaker 4: blogger came, I was like, dang, like a lot of
- 4:19Speaker 4: them people was famous from the internet, like not where
- 4:22Speaker 4: they was from, you know what I'm saying, Right, I
- 4:23Speaker 4: was lucky enough to have both of you, you know
- 4:25Speaker 4: what I'm saying, And I really didn't understand what was happening.
- 4:28Speaker 4: I ain't really I don't think none of us really
- 4:31Speaker 4: knew what was happening for real, you know.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But I feel like you were like the because I
- 4:36Speaker 1: even think about your freshman cover and like you're the
- 4:38Speaker 1: first guy front and center on that cover, and I
- 4:41Speaker 1: feel like you were kind of like the first guy
- 4:43Speaker 1: to really really break out and have like that buzz
- 4:46Speaker 1: and that star potential out of your out of those
- 4:49Speaker 1: peers that were going like at that same time. Because
- 4:52Speaker 1: after you is like when Kendrick starts buzzing and start.
- 4:57Speaker 4: We were all doing at the same time. It's like
- 5:00Speaker 4: it's just in terms of just like getting yeah, blowing.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Up, you know, yeah yeah yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Like I look back at it like, dang, man, like
- 5:09Speaker 4: I remember just the shoot day, Like you know what
- 5:11Speaker 4: I'm saying, Like I remember that, like and to see
- 5:14Speaker 4: me still doing it, like it's a it's a blessing Bro.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And you know your first album has aged gracefully like
- 5:20Speaker 1: attention deficit. I know, like when it first came out,
- 5:22Speaker 1: like a lot of people were like, yo, he sold out.
- 5:25Speaker 1: He did this Old Lady God Bro Chilling is a banger.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It is aged like fine line. Yeah, like that could
- 5:32Speaker 1: get played on the radio today.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I appreciate it, man, I was.
- 5:37Speaker 4: I was like kind of like a testing kind of
- 5:40Speaker 4: thing for early on in my career, Like there was.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Like, let's try something with this guy.
- 5:44Speaker 3: They didn't know.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Because from DC, they don't really know about the region.
- 5:48Speaker 4: They don't know, you know what I'm saying. I was
- 5:49Speaker 4: like saying yes to everything because I just got here.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Man.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Nah.
- 5:54Speaker 1: So this new album, you got the Conundrum record which
- 5:56Speaker 1: kicks things off, which is a very personal record for you.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I feel like it kind of deals with, would you say,
- 6:03Speaker 1: your lack of being in a relationship, being married.
- 6:08Speaker 4: It's just like it's just just kind of canna get cold?
- 6:11Speaker 4: How I can get cold?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Like yeah, like you essentially were like, Yo, we got
- 6:14Speaker 2: some crazy sex, but I'm.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Gonna come with you, like because it's like some people
- 6:19Speaker 4: drive theyselves mad over their job. You know what I'm saying,
- 6:22Speaker 4: and I think, like I went to I've been in
- 6:26Speaker 4: many places like where I'm like, I'm just too into
- 6:29Speaker 4: the job and I can't even focus on loving nobody,
- 6:34Speaker 4: Like you know what I'm saying. It's just a coldness
- 6:35Speaker 4: in me, like you know what I'm saying, And it
- 6:37Speaker 4: comes from being around such as the botcherss, you know
- 6:40Speaker 4: what I'm saying.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Not in the industry. You know what I'm saying.
- 6:43Speaker 4: You gotta you gotta you, gotta, you gotta hard en up,
- 6:45Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. Sometimes that carry over to
- 6:48Speaker 4: personal life, your personal life, you know what I'm saying.
- 6:50Speaker 4: So it's like, you know, I've heard that I'm cold.
- 6:53Speaker 4: I can get cold sometimes.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Do you feel like, you know, obviously your career has
- 6:58Speaker 1: been so successful, You've so millions and a million records,
- 7:00Speaker 1: and but do you feel like it's been at the
- 7:02Speaker 1: expense of your personal life?
- 7:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's a good question too, Like but yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 4: for sure, Like you know what I'm saying, Like I
- 7:10Speaker 4: got like my my, the way I view the world
- 7:15Speaker 4: is completely different than most of the majority of people,
- 7:19Speaker 4: like you know what I'm saying, Like because what I've seen,
- 7:21Speaker 4: you know, and like I really gave my all to
- 7:24Speaker 4: the music. I gave my all into it and it
- 7:27Speaker 4: you know, if runed a lot of relationships like everyone,
- 7:31Speaker 4: my patients, they patients, you know, like it's just one
- 7:34Speaker 4: of the most vicious sacrifices, you know what I'm saying,
- 7:36Speaker 4: Like not really having that. It's not easy to have
- 7:39Speaker 4: that or trust people like that.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Well, I also feel like like there's very few people
- 7:42Speaker 1: who like really care not only about the art as
- 7:47Speaker 1: much as like you care about the art so much
- 7:49Speaker 1: to a level where like you, I mean, we've all
- 7:51Speaker 1: seen you publicly kind of take I guess maybe like
- 7:55Speaker 1: a lack of maybe appreciation, right because a lot of
- 7:59Speaker 1: people say you're underrated, you know what I mean. And
- 8:01Speaker 1: I know that you've you know, been dealing with that
- 8:03Speaker 1: for a while, and you know, is that kind of
- 8:06Speaker 1: something that you feel like you've gotten past.
- 8:09Speaker 4: In a sense, Like I just be over it now
- 8:11Speaker 4: because I'm like, man, you know, like everywhere I go
- 8:15Speaker 4: it's like they are poor or whatever. Like man, you
- 8:18Speaker 4: I just I don't, I don't know. Maybe I'm cynical.
- 8:20Speaker 4: I don't really be believed. I don't really It could
- 8:22Speaker 4: be impostercision, it could be something, but I don't really
- 8:25Speaker 4: subscribe to none of that, you know what I'm saying.
- 8:28Speaker 4: But that's enabled me to not like get off two
- 8:31Speaker 4: offended if niggas ain't fuck with me, you know what
- 8:33Speaker 4: I'm saying. So you know, I'm kind of like not
- 8:36Speaker 4: ain't chipping no more like about all that.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I mean, look, I get it though, because
- 8:40Speaker 1: if you like when someone gives a fuck like it's
- 8:42Speaker 1: you want to also like feel like yo, like the
- 8:45Speaker 1: appreciation that comes with the amount of like sacrifice and
- 8:49Speaker 1: work you put into each song, in each lyric and
- 8:51Speaker 1: each other.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 4: Yeah, like I just be I always say, like my
- 8:55Speaker 4: thing is, I don't even really care like y'all canfrom
- 8:56Speaker 4: youall pins about the music, but like just get just
- 8:59Speaker 4: listen to it. It was all it for real, Like
- 9:00Speaker 4: if you truly absorb it and then you don't like
- 9:03Speaker 4: get cool, that's your opinion. But like there's a lot
- 9:05Speaker 4: of pins with people that didn't even like dive into it,
- 9:08Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying.
- 9:09Speaker 1: So one percent, one hundred percent. Hey, we got to
- 9:12Speaker 1: stop the interview to tell you about our good folks.
- 9:14Speaker 1: Odd socks man. Now, these are the odd socks basics,
- 9:17Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen. Now, when I tell you this is
- 9:20Speaker 1: a product that every single day I'm alive for the
- 9:24Speaker 1: last five six years I have used are these odd
- 9:29Speaker 1: Socks Basics. Now, what odd Socks is doing is they're
- 9:31Speaker 1: kind of reinventing the sock game, if we're being honest,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and the underwear game. You know, a lot of times
- 9:35Speaker 1: you'll hit Walmart, you'll hit Target, you'll get some socks,
- 9:38Speaker 1: you get some draws. They're affordable, stand up with holes
- 9:41Speaker 1: in them. They don't really feel great. Uh not odd Socks, ladies, gentlemen,
- 9:45Speaker 1: These odd Socks Basics are the most comfortable socks I've
- 9:48Speaker 1: ever had on my feet. Not only that, but you're
- 9:52Speaker 1: super affordable. Fourteen ninety nine for a six pack. That's
- 9:56Speaker 1: it odd socks dot Com. And if you don't believe me,
- 10:02Speaker 1: sock check full. Wait that's the ex is on the
- 10:05Speaker 1: other side.
- 10:06Speaker 2: There we go. Ah, you see that.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Sorry you had to see those white legs. But it's
- 10:13Speaker 1: so dope that you know, I get to push a
- 10:15Speaker 1: product that I use and that I love, so odd
- 10:18Speaker 1: Socks They got the six pack of socks for fourteen
- 10:20Speaker 1: ninety nine at odd socks dot com. The basics this
- 10:23Speaker 1: is the future of socks, the future of underwear comfort
- 10:28Speaker 1: and affordability. I'm talking about affordability without jeopardizing the quality
- 10:33Speaker 1: because they are the most comfortable socks you ever put
- 10:35Speaker 1: on your feet.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Ladies and gents and the ETCeteras. Got to show love
- 10:38Speaker 2: to the ETCeteras.
- 10:39Speaker 1: We like all the stripes on the flag. There are
- 10:42Speaker 1: odd socks dot com. Man, much love to my brothers
- 10:44Speaker 1: over there. Make sure you get some right now, odd
- 10:46Speaker 1: socks dot Com. Let's get back to the interview. I
- 10:49Speaker 1: feel like you've already like kind of solidified yourself as
- 10:52Speaker 1: like when I think of like ll Biggie fab you
- 11:00Speaker 1: the guys who are just so good at like morphing
- 11:03Speaker 1: R and B and hip hop together and just making
- 11:07Speaker 1: music that ladies love. Yeah, when do you feel like
- 11:10Speaker 1: you kind of caught that like knack and that like, oh,
- 11:14Speaker 1: I'm kind of honest something I got a few of
- 11:16Speaker 1: these now high.
- 11:16Speaker 4: School high school probably, I mean that's when I knew,
- 11:19Speaker 4: like I can you know it is the way. It's
- 11:21Speaker 4: a way that like you know what I'm saying. But
- 11:24Speaker 4: as far as this this is like in my career,
- 11:26Speaker 4: like I don't really think like that, Like I just
- 11:30Speaker 4: be like, I really just be talking and you know
- 11:33Speaker 4: what I'm saying, Like, I don't be like, yo, the
- 11:34Speaker 4: ladies gonna dig that. I just be talking and it's
- 11:37Speaker 4: just what comes out. I just try to, you know,
- 11:40Speaker 4: talk for real. I don't really look at it like that.
- 11:42Speaker 4: And it's kind of weird, right, But I'm grateful as
- 11:45Speaker 4: I've asked that success.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, for sure, for sure. If you had
- 11:48Speaker 1: to do a collab project with an R and B
- 11:51Speaker 1: singer like lock In, do a whole joint, We've seen
- 11:53Speaker 1: a few of these over the last few years. Who
- 11:55Speaker 1: would you doing with if you couldn't, I don't know.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Probably deal o'leon oh deeal o Leon for oh deeal Leon.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Beyonce. Yeah, so uh.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah, Stevie wonder Stevie would be like, I don't know,
- 12:18Speaker 4: there's a couple of people.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Man, you know, I'm a lovel boy.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I guess yeah, for sure. Uh you just ended. I
- 12:24Speaker 1: went to the final Wallet Many in Vegas, which was special.
- 12:29Speaker 1: It was kind of the beginning of Naomi's hill turn.
- 12:32Speaker 1: She started did she had a little crash out on stage.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I love being part of the k Fabrory.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You know, obviously such a great legacy in the wrestling world.
- 12:42Speaker 1: You are kind of the first wrestling rapper. I think
- 12:45Speaker 1: of you and Dizza is kind of being the first.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Two guys.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Can't have a good gun.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I feel like you guys, I feel like.
- 12:53Speaker 3: You.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Gun obviously has has has been doing it for a
- 12:56Speaker 1: long time. But I mean, like way back in the day,
- 12:59Speaker 1: like but I remember seeing you pay per views like
- 13:03Speaker 1: twenty eleven.
- 13:04Speaker 4: That's actually where I first met a gun in Conway?
- 13:07Speaker 3: Was that the wrestling event crazy.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Back when when I started, No, I mean obviously, yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 1: west Side Gun has turned. I mean, you know what
- 13:13Speaker 1: he's doing was four fourth rope is just crazy. It's
- 13:15Speaker 1: so special crazy. That was my favorite thing that happened
- 13:18Speaker 1: Wrestlmingia weekend was his show.
- 13:20Speaker 3: They they they up to some shout the gun and.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Shout out to him and deer Man. They're they're doing
- 13:25Speaker 1: it for you. Uh why was it time to end?
- 13:28Speaker 1: While media juice squeeze, sometimes just the juice worth to squeeze.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Sometimes it's like I enjoy it, enjoy seeing the people,
- 13:36Speaker 1: but you know, like you want things like that to
- 13:39Speaker 1: be like easy going, because not I just just coming
- 13:42Speaker 1: off tour like you wanted to be you know, but
- 13:46Speaker 1: you know, never say never though, you know, but like
- 13:50Speaker 1: I said, juice squeeze.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Like and I was just saying, like it's.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Like, okay, every every every March April, you gotta set
- 13:55Speaker 1: aside like a week.
- 13:57Speaker 3: And you're round in the troops and like you know
- 13:59Speaker 3: the club from all the life or like the you know,
- 14:01Speaker 3: finding the Venu. Yeah, like you know, but well, never
- 14:04Speaker 3: say no.
- 14:05Speaker 4: I got some I got some relentless management managers and
- 14:09Speaker 4: people in my on my side that probably want to
- 14:11Speaker 4: happen one day again.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Do you.
- 14:14Speaker 1: How much are you watching? Like, because I feel like
- 14:16Speaker 1: right now, w's WW is kind of in a little rut.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Little, it's a little it's a little way I ain't
- 14:21Speaker 4: really watched to be honest, Like.
- 14:23Speaker 1: The set thing kind of sucked, Like they broke up
- 14:25Speaker 1: the vision Ship super.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Fast nowhere when he was hurt those.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And I get it, he hurt his shoulder. It's like
- 14:30Speaker 1: could have done it, could have did a different way.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Hurt. They've been hurt. Heeled to like champions like.
- 14:36Speaker 1: For one hundred, like he could just flash the belt
- 14:39Speaker 1: for three months, show up promo every every other.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Week and like the some of the episodes be kind
- 14:45Speaker 4: of repaired, like you could take two weeks off and
- 14:47Speaker 4: come back on.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Uh, how did you feel?
- 14:50Speaker 1: Because I feel like one of the biggest fumbles in
- 14:52Speaker 1: recent WW history is the Scena heel turn because the
- 14:55Speaker 1: moment by itself was so crazy and it was so
- 14:58Speaker 1: well executed, and then after that, I mean, that was it.
- 15:01Speaker 2: The peak was the day it happened. Man grand open
- 15:04Speaker 2: and grand closing.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Man, that was a generational I don't even want to
- 15:09Speaker 3: go there, let me, yeah it was.
- 15:12Speaker 2: It was never believable.
- 15:14Speaker 4: It was just bad, bro, Like they should have just
- 15:16Speaker 4: made him full heal, like just like.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Switch the gear.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Everything stopped going to doing the kids, send Cody to
- 15:22Speaker 4: go and make the kids, you know, like he would
- 15:24Speaker 4: have got his redemption art towards the end, like it
- 15:26Speaker 4: just didn't feel like nothing, Like who.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Do you think is going to be his final? Uh match?
- 15:31Speaker 1: Because we still don't know.
- 15:32Speaker 4: I think Saturday Nights Man event. Yes, that's so weird,
- 15:36Speaker 4: like wrestling that's so weird, Like that's not even a
- 15:39Speaker 4: real people rumble. I think it's because it's on NBC
- 15:42Speaker 4: though probably right.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Yes, some big cock so so everybody can watch watch it. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: because ever since the ESPN deal happened? Whatever's been going
- 15:49Speaker 1: on on ESPN? I don't watch I don't know what.
- 15:50Speaker 1: It's so weird, right.
- 15:51Speaker 2: It's I don't got I like the subscription was like they.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Got the Saudi Verse, the ESPN Verse and then the
- 15:57Speaker 4: regular I just it's too much.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I don't know, bro, I'm like, I watch it on youtubet.
- 16:03Speaker 4: It's like like it's hot work at It's a lot.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Like I tried to watch the joint on PN, like
- 16:07Speaker 4: logging in. I'm like, I'm logged in, Like, oh, you
- 16:10Speaker 4: want more.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Ship?
- 16:12Speaker 4: It was just too much going on. Man, Yeah, Like
- 16:14Speaker 4: I see it on YouTube and nothing even happened.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Nothing even happened.
- 16:17Speaker 2: But who who? If you had to?
- 16:18Speaker 1: Because I thought for sure it would make sense for
- 16:21Speaker 1: him to to put Seth over at the end, like
- 16:25Speaker 1: let Seth beat him.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Seen it? I thought I thought that that would be
- 16:30Speaker 2: the most Like.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Is Cody too obvious of a guest?
- 16:34Speaker 2: Well, they already wrestled.
- 16:36Speaker 4: I mean, it's Cody, but he's the biggest face in
- 16:39Speaker 4: the company.
- 16:40Speaker 2: It would make sense because obviously I can't because you.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Can't even tell who they're trying to. Maybe maybe Bron
- 16:45Speaker 4: break there, Maybe I don't.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I don't feel like it's too soon.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I don't even and then I feel like that's like
- 16:51Speaker 1: it would just feel like they're forcing it.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I don't even know.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I don't know nobody. Seth would have been the has
- 16:56Speaker 2: never had.
- 16:57Speaker 1: One of them dudes to put him over yet for me,
- 17:00Speaker 1: like if he if he beats Seen in his final match,
- 17:02Speaker 1: that's that's like, yeah, it makes sense.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Now that's out of the question.
- 17:05Speaker 1: That's done.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 17:08Speaker 1: But no, I just I hope Wally India comes back
- 17:12Speaker 1: or or dude, even if you you got.
- 17:14Speaker 2: To be a manager on TNA or some ship, I
- 17:18Speaker 2: would do that. But Tate's cooking right.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Now, cooking, cooking. They got some guys with it.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Talk to me man about working with Shaboozie on this album,
- 17:26Speaker 1: because Shaboozi is such a generationally talented dude.
- 17:29Speaker 3: You guys, Yeah, now he's from the crib, from the DMV.
- 17:32Speaker 4: So the crazy thing is that, like I wrote that
- 17:36Speaker 4: song like way before, like the country Boom, like you
- 17:39Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, Like, because I really wanted to
- 17:41Speaker 4: be on some songwriting stuff on the album, Like I
- 17:43Speaker 4: really wanted to be like like Blanco, like bluesy vibe,
- 17:47Speaker 4: So it was done, but like he like one of
- 17:50Speaker 4: my managers that played it for him, because I think
- 17:52Speaker 4: he was like in the studio off stairs or something
- 17:54Speaker 4: like that, and I think he liked it when he
- 17:56Speaker 4: heard it, but I don't even think the conversation was
- 17:58Speaker 4: even there. But he ended up getting on it like
- 18:01Speaker 4: maybe like two months later.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Like that fired.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yeah, No, he's dope. Man, that's an outro?
- 18:06Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
- 18:08Speaker 1: How many songs from this project? Like like did you
- 18:11Speaker 1: were you picking from the kind of morph it?
- 18:13Speaker 3: Like?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Was it like like I guess what was on the
- 18:15Speaker 2: coming of.
- 18:16Speaker 4: I cut so many songs man, Like I was losing
- 18:19Speaker 4: my mind, like I got too many songs, Like but
- 18:22Speaker 4: I just record every day. So what you'll know, yo,
- 18:25Speaker 4: your instinct to tell you what do you get?
- 18:27Speaker 1: Demo itis a lot though, where you're like, man, you
- 18:29Speaker 1: put some ship in the're like, man, we did this
- 18:31Speaker 1: ship too long ago.
- 18:32Speaker 2: It's old to me.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Yep, yep, yep. So many songs in the vote they
- 18:36Speaker 3: like that happened like that.
- 18:37Speaker 2: That might be fucking number one records.
- 18:39Speaker 1: You never know, Yeah, absolutely right, yeah, it's it's it's
- 18:42Speaker 1: the demo ightist thing.
- 18:43Speaker 4: I got a whole how drized that I can't find
- 18:45Speaker 4: him with. Probably got about thirty songs like that would
- 18:49Speaker 4: be that would work right now. Yeah, that's the that's
- 18:53Speaker 4: the that's the thing about artists, like we were slowly
- 18:56Speaker 4: losing our mind with this art.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Like Yo, earlier this year you had said that Cole
- 19:03Speaker 1: helped you get over writer's block. Yeah, what how do
- 19:06Speaker 1: you get over writers? What was the advice?
- 19:08Speaker 4: Like, I can't he got got I can't give away
- 19:11Speaker 4: the cold information.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Well, I'm saying if you have writer's block, it could
- 19:14Speaker 1: be like I feel like creative block in generals.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's well, I mean I try to run, walk,
- 19:19Speaker 4: like do something like he said some.
- 19:20Speaker 2: About meditating get out.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, he's he's he's a meditator.
- 19:24Speaker 2: But I think he tweeted it to eighty DP.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Brain was hard. It's hard to meditate.
- 19:29Speaker 4: With my point, like I started to go like this,
- 19:31Speaker 4: I start thinking about everything like having for dinner and
- 19:34Speaker 4: all that type of stuff.
- 19:35Speaker 3: But now I deal with writer's block.
- 19:37Speaker 4: I walk or I just get my driver give me
- 19:40Speaker 4: not just cruise for a little bit and just look
- 19:42Speaker 4: out thee though he to Jay, listen to some something
- 19:45Speaker 4: pre nineteen ninety nine.
- 19:48Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, get some vibes going.
- 19:49Speaker 2: What is your pre nineteen ninety nine? Go to you know, like.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Reading though, Like like I've been listening to so much.
- 19:57Speaker 1: All I've been listening to like is lock Shiit CNN,
- 20:01Speaker 1: the CNN first album, Early Cam. I was listening to
- 20:06Speaker 1: SD the other st is so good.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Oh my god, let me know.
- 20:11Speaker 1: You know what's crazy is the first cameraon album Confessions
- 20:14Speaker 1: of Fire. He's got a song, the Confession song that's
- 20:18Speaker 1: on there. Do you remember how insanely it.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Would never fly? He was about, Yeah, yeah, I don't
- 20:25Speaker 3: know that. I don't know what that was.
- 20:26Speaker 2: He was like, what do they call that?
- 20:28Speaker 3: Incests at edge Lord he was on that.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was like that like horror core ship,
- 20:34Speaker 1: like with a poodle that was.
- 20:37Speaker 4: He was saying some wow, And I'm like, what I thought?
- 20:39Speaker 4: This was hors and Carriage, Like no, that was Children
- 20:41Speaker 4: of the Corn Camera to.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Get it out, WASSM or something.
- 20:44Speaker 2: One hundred percent.
- 20:45Speaker 1: You know, I just saw a new story came out
- 20:47Speaker 1: today about and obviously there's a lot of contexts being
- 20:51Speaker 1: left out of the headline because they just changed a
- 20:53Speaker 1: lot of the prerequisites on the Billboard chart, but essentially
- 20:56Speaker 1: since ninety two, it's the first time there has been
- 20:59Speaker 1: a rap song in the top forty on Yeah Billboard's
- 21:01Speaker 1: Hot one hundred.
- 21:02Speaker 3: That's scary.
- 21:03Speaker 4: I mean, shoot, I got songs just platinum that never
- 21:07Speaker 4: even made it on that shot.
- 21:08Speaker 3: So you know, it's there's there's some things.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Hip hop is in a weird place, like but you know,
- 21:15Speaker 4: plays superprises, I mean it's place three games, it gets
- 21:18Speaker 4: to press like we played with. I think a lot
- 21:20Speaker 4: of us took a lot of this for granted, Like
- 21:22Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, Like the balance of the
- 21:25Speaker 4: balance of like every artist having their own unique style,
- 21:28Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying, or unique collaborations like we
- 21:31Speaker 4: got everything got kind of repetitive.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Like yeah, it definitely felt like, uh for there's like
- 21:37Speaker 1: in terms of just like the commercial aspect of especially
- 21:40Speaker 1: male artists don't want to put because I feel like
- 21:42Speaker 1: like the women have done a good job of making
- 21:44Speaker 1: like hit records doing anything. But in terms of like dudes,
- 21:47Speaker 1: it just kind of felt like a lot of like
- 21:49Speaker 1: half leaned out, non hook like motherfuckers all kind of
- 21:55Speaker 1: have the same melodic pocket.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a little bit. I mean, but you could
- 21:59Speaker 3: say that about every sub genre and hip hop. But
- 22:02Speaker 3: it's been good.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I feel like, by the way, I do think it's
- 22:04Speaker 1: been an amazing hip hop year quality wise, Like it
- 22:08Speaker 1: has been a fucking year people.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Everybody's been dropping Clips.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Album, Alfredo two, Chance album.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Is incredible, Chance album.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Your album is incredible than Larry the Larry June to Change.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Alchemist album is incredible. Him Boy Alchem is hit boy Alchemy.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Could you do a whole album Alchemist?
- 22:26Speaker 3: Please? For fox sake? That just sounds like is very elusive,
- 22:31Speaker 3: But he's not elusive. That must just be me. I
- 22:34Speaker 3: don't know.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Have you reached out.
- 22:36Speaker 3: We talked a couple of times. He's busy.
- 22:38Speaker 1: You have to go to Santa Monica. This is how
- 22:40Speaker 1: it works. You've got to go to him right and
- 22:44Speaker 1: just locking and you know, take a week and do
- 22:47Speaker 1: an album.
- 22:48Speaker 4: That sounds good, sound I mean good, that sounds amazing.
- 22:51Speaker 4: But he got like eight albums coming out, like it's.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Kind of crazy.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Eric, I do album. What's your what's your favorite rap
- 22:56Speaker 1: album of the year, excluding your album? That would be cheap.
- 23:02Speaker 3: I like Central Sea Joint, I like too, I like
- 23:06Speaker 3: Clips Joint.
- 23:08Speaker 2: It's between Freddy and Clips. For me, that's close. It's close,
- 23:15Speaker 2: though it's close.
- 23:18Speaker 3: I really enjoyed Dave's album.
- 23:20Speaker 1: The New Dave album is so fucking good. It's intense,
- 23:24Speaker 1: it's and you know what, That's one thing I was
- 23:26Speaker 1: I yell at people because I love U K Rap
- 23:31Speaker 1: and I'll be driving around the car with the homies
- 23:33Speaker 1: bumping Dave and They'll be like, yo, man, turn this
- 23:35Speaker 1: ship off, And I'm like, I don't think you understand.
- 23:37Speaker 1: This is the most vulnerable rapper on the planet.
- 23:39Speaker 2: You know he can, I mean, and he could wrap
- 23:43Speaker 2: his ass off.
- 23:44Speaker 4: May having some pockets too, Like, I got a lot
- 23:47Speaker 4: of love for the UK scene, bro.
- 23:48Speaker 1: And Central c is cold, bro, Like I know, he's
- 23:52Speaker 1: like a superstar. Now people are looking at I'm like, nah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: like go back. He could get off like that. Even
- 23:57Speaker 1: that Dave Central c ep was that.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a sight.
- 24:01Speaker 1: That joint going down in history on history. It went
- 24:04Speaker 1: five for five on that joint. It was incredible. So
- 24:07Speaker 1: if you have got your head what you'll have been picking.
- 24:09Speaker 4: The year, I'll probably say, uh, I'm gonna probably say
- 24:17Speaker 4: Clips all Set album was like that too.
- 24:20Speaker 3: allSome album was real good.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Too solid.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Yeah, got a real good album, but I'll probably say
- 24:24Speaker 4: I'll probably say clips joint Freddy by by a short distance.
- 24:29Speaker 4: It is interchangeable because Freddy was doing gymnastics on that joint.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Depending on the day.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Yeah, he was ribbing. He's rabbing his ass.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Off Yeah, no off set.
- 24:39Speaker 1: I'm definitely just to get mentioned too.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Yeah, this joint. You got some joints on that.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Per do you when you're crafting your album and you're
- 24:49Speaker 1: in the studio, is it hard for you to like
- 24:51Speaker 1: be a fan and listen to other people ship without
- 24:55Speaker 1: it like kind of subconsciously, I give.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Most albums like people that's dropping. I'll give you that
- 25:03Speaker 4: that the first day come out when I'm working out
- 25:06Speaker 4: in the gym.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Then leave it alone.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Because you don't want to get like because even subconsciously
- 25:10Speaker 1: I might, and I might, I might have like a
- 25:12Speaker 1: favorite two or three songs on it, and I might
- 25:14Speaker 1: go back to be like I don't really most of
- 25:16Speaker 1: my friends I don't really listen to their music like
- 25:18Speaker 1: that because it's like.
- 25:20Speaker 4: I want to accidentally like you know what I'm saying,
- 25:23Speaker 4: I'm good, but I mean I know they should good
- 25:25Speaker 4: because I'll give it to spend. But I'll be like,
- 25:27Speaker 4: all right, right, stay with stay where you at.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Want to give a shout out to our family at
- 25:32Speaker 1: Broken Man Broken Listen. I love these vapes Broken Cannabis.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Make sure you go shoot them a follow. I was
- 25:41Speaker 1: in Austin, Texas, and you know I was off the

- 25:49Speaker 1: you got to go follow them right now. Go to

- 26:32Speaker 1: these incredible follow them and check them out rocancannabis dot com.
- 26:36Speaker 2: What is Uh?
- 26:38Speaker 1: Was there a what was I guess the final song
- 26:40Speaker 1: that kind of barely made the cut? Maybe it was
- 26:43Speaker 1: like getting the feature last minute on the album or
- 26:46Speaker 1: getting the clearance.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Uh. Probably Boozy was a buzzy beater.
- 26:53Speaker 1: It was a buzzy beater. You feel Likeima, what are
- 26:57Speaker 1: we fucking doing here? I know you almost went to
- 26:59Speaker 1: Empire hurt almost.
- 27:01Speaker 4: Nima and staff they always hold it down. But I
- 27:05Speaker 4: was a buzz beating and me and Leon buzz beat
- 27:07Speaker 4: the joint too.
- 27:08Speaker 1: You got a couple of joints. Uh, you kicked it
- 27:11Speaker 1: like the Uh? Where is starting value of the beast?
- 27:14Speaker 1: Are to just those are like just take them to
- 27:17Speaker 1: mix show, ready to go?
- 27:21Speaker 2: How do you pick it? Like?
- 27:22Speaker 1: Like, are you at the point where you and the
- 27:23Speaker 1: label are gonna wait and see what happens with like
- 27:25Speaker 1: how the fans react to a record before you kind
- 27:27Speaker 1: of decide what the quote unquote single is? Uh?
- 27:31Speaker 4: I mean the music being has changed so much so
- 27:33Speaker 4: it's like I don't like, I mean, it'd be nice.
- 27:36Speaker 4: The fans really really was passionate about something that's where
- 27:39Speaker 4: we go. But sometimes you just got to put it out,
- 27:42Speaker 4: like you know, like I was. I was, I was
- 27:43Speaker 4: very I really wanted Blanco to be my first release,
- 27:46Speaker 4: like as like.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I felt you made a statement.
- 27:49Speaker 4: With like yeah, it's just I just wanted to show
- 27:51Speaker 4: songs men ship like songwriting skills like and make so
- 27:55Speaker 4: like something that felt real bluesy, you know what I'm saying.
- 27:58Speaker 4: But like everything else, like you know, when the album
- 28:00Speaker 4: comes out, you can you can kind of feel it
- 28:02Speaker 4: from your fans. You can feel it like what's where
- 28:04Speaker 4: they're going. I listened to my monds a lot.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Do you remember when you realized you actually got Seinfeld
- 28:14Speaker 1: to do the mixtape like that, Like like what was
- 28:18Speaker 1: the feeling when you get that confirmation the call? Because
- 28:24Speaker 1: I'm sure it feels like like that's the kind of
- 28:26Speaker 1: thing like somebody could tell you it's gonna happen and
- 28:28Speaker 1: you're like, yeah, motherfucker, I believe it when it happens.
- 28:30Speaker 4: I mean, we had a we had a good rapport
- 28:32Speaker 4: before the album because of the mixtapement that was before
- 28:35Speaker 4: I was.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, because I mean we're coming up on ten
- 28:37Speaker 2: years of.
- 28:37Speaker 4: The album, so I mean, like once once we once
- 28:41Speaker 4: were in the studio with him, like we're actually working
- 28:43Speaker 4: on it. It was like, damn, it's really going down.
- 28:45Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I would have been like, Yo, FaceTime, Larry David, can
- 28:49Speaker 1: we get fame?
- 28:50Speaker 4: I need to give with Larry David. I think he's
- 28:52Speaker 4: at the University of Maryland alumni.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Man, I gotta give him.
- 28:54Speaker 2: He's a terp.
- 28:55Speaker 3: I think so. I think so. It sounds good now.
- 28:59Speaker 1: I feel like that should be the next thing. If
- 29:01Speaker 1: you just do like ten joints, just barring out, like
- 29:03Speaker 1: you know, curb your enthusiasm.
- 29:05Speaker 4: If I can get if I can get Larry, if
- 29:07Speaker 4: I can get Larry, I'll go back because I said
- 29:10Speaker 4: I wasn't gonna go back to that series, but I
- 29:11Speaker 4: do it for Larry.
- 29:13Speaker 1: This is a big question, and I think there's an
- 29:15Speaker 1: obvious answer here. What shows better Curb or Seinfeld?
- 29:22Speaker 3: Man.
- 29:22Speaker 4: I mean, I've seen every episode of Signfield. I haven't
- 29:24Speaker 4: seen every episode of Kurb.
- 29:25Speaker 1: But.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I think Curb probably aged a little bit better.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I think Kurb is the greatest comedy ever.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's good shot my man. JB. Smooth Man.
- 29:34Speaker 4: I've just talked to him a couple of He's so

- 30:19Speaker 4: tide of the band's building?
- 30:22Speaker 2: Where do you feel like? We're in?
- 30:24Speaker 3: This?
- 30:24Speaker 1: Like interesting time because my favorite era of sneaker culture
- 30:29Speaker 1: was Lebron seven, eight, nine.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Ten Lebron. That was a good slobe time, right.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Because then you had the KD four's, You had so
- 30:39Speaker 1: many joints that you could get off with jeans, the.
- 30:42Speaker 3: All Star, the All Star Package, the.
- 30:44Speaker 1: All Star, the Big Bangs, the Galaxy Is the Christmas joints.
- 30:48Speaker 1: That was a great The South Beaches, Oh my fucking god.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I kind of like I was pretty excited when they
- 30:55Speaker 1: started retroing the Lebron's because I was able to get
- 30:58Speaker 1: like the what the Lebron's and the big bangs, and
- 31:00Speaker 1: I got like the big bang Kati fours and ship
- 31:02Speaker 1: like the Nerve Katie fours.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I was like, I got the weather Man's. I was like,
- 31:05Speaker 2: I couldn't afford the weather Man's.
- 31:06Speaker 1: When they came out and you had a run, I
- 31:08Speaker 1: was like, oh wait on some uh No, that was
- 31:12Speaker 1: two thousand and let's see. I think twenty ten was
- 31:15Speaker 1: when the lebron Hs dropped.
- 31:18Speaker 2: That was for sure.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Man the red carpets and the yeah.
- 31:22Speaker 1: And even think about like the Quark tens. But I
- 31:25Speaker 1: feel like we're kind of getting to a point now
- 31:27Speaker 1: where obviously the running shoes are lit right now, like
- 31:31Speaker 1: a six and new Balance and all that, but I
- 31:33Speaker 1: feel like people rocking basketball shoes again. Like I just
- 31:37Speaker 1: was with Freddy last night and he had the John
- 31:39Speaker 1: rant On with his.
- 31:39Speaker 3: With his pants watch it, watch it happen, And I.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Mean, you're wearing the ants, right, you did that?
- 31:45Speaker 3: Hopefully you're the.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Guy you are the sneakers with jeans, dude and hip hop, Like,

- 31:57Speaker 3: Good brothers over there.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Yeah, those GT futures are They're.
- 32:00Speaker 3: About to do some real good things over there. Nike basketball.
- 32:04Speaker 2: What uh do you feel like that?
- 32:06Speaker 3: That?
- 32:06Speaker 1: The basketball shoe in general though, just as a casual
- 32:08Speaker 1: because I feel like you know who who also has
- 32:10Speaker 1: slept on shoe. Obviously he's Jerseys behind you. But Devin Booker,
- 32:12Speaker 1: I think the books are you them.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Book they are? They can't plaining for me.
- 32:16Speaker 4: They look like I'm about to go hoop and only
- 32:18Speaker 4: hoop like they like playing playing.
- 32:20Speaker 2: To me, they're like very much like uh.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Like Air Force one. Yes, yeah, they're just playing man.
- 32:26Speaker 4: A lot of jobs. Colorway I was I wish was
- 32:29Speaker 4: like mid instead of load top. But yeah, you probably
- 32:32Speaker 4: got the best, the best news.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Shoot them jaws are fucking gassed.
- 32:36Speaker 4: A lot of colorways just really fire. They spiking it
- 32:39Speaker 4: with the colourways.
- 32:40Speaker 1: How are you feeling about Obviously the Commander season has
- 32:43Speaker 1: been interesting because h Daniel's been hurt a lot this year. Yeah,
- 32:46Speaker 1: you have been riding Mariota last week. How are you
- 32:49Speaker 1: feeling about your commanders?
- 32:50Speaker 3: Man? Tough tough maname?
- 32:54Speaker 1: I lost good money by the way betting on the
- 32:56Speaker 1: Wizards are betting against them. Yes, that fucking George. George's cooking,
- 33:02Speaker 1: cook the Mavericks up. But Jayden, that's my man.
- 33:05Speaker 4: That's like, that's my good man in Javon and Regina
- 33:09Speaker 4: like his whole family, like they show number h But
- 33:11Speaker 4: I hate seeing my dog hurt.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Man. I just hate like like he let a game
- 33:15Speaker 3: so much.
- 33:15Speaker 4: I just hate to see him like like not being
- 33:17Speaker 4: able to be with the team, like you know what
- 33:19Speaker 4: I'm saying.
- 33:19Speaker 1: But former in Arizona State University. Great one year he transferred, We're.
- 33:24Speaker 4: Gonna we're gonna see as we got a little bit
- 33:26Speaker 4: more ball to place. So let's see, y'all go.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Uh if you had to, sometimes you'll hear like people
- 33:32Speaker 1: say like jay z is the Michael Jordan of recording.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Well he said that about himself. Mmm uh. Some people
- 33:39Speaker 1: say Lebron is like Drake. If you had to compare
- 33:41Speaker 1: yourself your career to an NBA player, who would it be.
- 33:45Speaker 4: I don't know, man, I don't know, maybe like maybe
- 33:55Speaker 4: like uh, Steve Nash or something like that.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Even that's she's not bad. Two time MV people the
- 34:02Speaker 1: bad No, I mean.
- 34:05Speaker 4: MVP probably because you know I've been, like my my
- 34:08Speaker 4: lore is a little bit like I've been. I've done
- 34:10Speaker 4: more than people know, like real relief pet like you
- 34:12Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, Like I've done a lot more
- 34:15Speaker 4: than like casuals.
- 34:17Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So yeah, like casuals won't get it, but the basketball
- 34:22Speaker 1: fans will get it. Like we'd be like, yo, now
- 34:24Speaker 1: you had to see Steven.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, like a sneaky, sneaky catalog one of
- 34:28Speaker 4: those guys. I guess I ain't not like an algorithm
- 34:32Speaker 4: Darling Kirk, Yeah, Dirk, see the Dirk.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, first ballot.
- 34:38Speaker 2: First ballot.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Yes for you, man, talk about uh, you know, I
- 34:43Speaker 1: do think that you have had if you think about
- 34:48Speaker 1: the longevity that it takes to be as relevant as
- 34:52Speaker 1: you've been for all these years. We talked a little
- 34:54Speaker 1: about earlier, about some of the sacrifice you had to make.
- 34:56Speaker 1: But what would you say, is like your biggest secret
- 34:58Speaker 1: to just staying relevant, staying relentless?
- 35:03Speaker 4: It ain't no secret. I just I just work, man,
- 35:05Speaker 4: I just I worked real hard at my job. I work,
- 35:09Speaker 4: and I mean I drive myself to exhaustion. I you
- 35:12Speaker 4: know what I'm saying all the time. So I just
- 35:14Speaker 4: work like I.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Just I just you feel like you treated like a job,
- 35:17Speaker 1: like like quite literally.
- 35:19Speaker 4: Sometimes it is a job, like like like turnin things.
- 35:23Speaker 4: It ain't the most fun, like you know, you might
- 35:25Speaker 4: not want to really physically want to be outside, but
- 35:29Speaker 4: you really got to be outside like for your for
- 35:31Speaker 4: your job, like you know what I'm saying, Like they
- 35:33Speaker 4: do feel like a job sometimes for sure.
- 35:35Speaker 1: You know, early on, I remember when The Roots embraced you.
- 35:38Speaker 1: How big of a deal was that to get like
- 35:40Speaker 1: a co sign from it?
- 35:42Speaker 3: Was?
- 35:42Speaker 4: It was it was crazy, like you know, like it
- 35:45Speaker 4: means something to me because it's like Black Thought, like
- 35:47Speaker 4: one of my favorites ever and you know, just soaring
- 35:51Speaker 4: with Mark and jay Z like and then you get
- 35:54Speaker 4: off that now you're on a Roots Roots single, like
- 35:56Speaker 4: you know, that was that was a lot. I remember
- 35:58Speaker 4: we did the GQ shoot Me Breaking Cuddy y'all, like
- 36:03Speaker 4: they're like, yeah, I'm working with I'm working with Justin
- 36:05Speaker 4: Timberlay working with the Roots. You know what I'm saying,
- 36:08Speaker 4: Like all right, but I said that you with my
- 36:10Speaker 4: chest like yeah, you know what I'm saying like this
- 36:12Speaker 4: this this is this is this is.
- 36:14Speaker 3: A monumental thing for me right here, you know what
- 36:15Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 36:16Speaker 4: So yeah, and we're still cool to this day, man, man,
- 36:19Speaker 4: like we talk all the time.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I just had Mickey Facts up here. I believe you
- 36:23Speaker 1: guys are on the cover together, right yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 36:26Speaker 1: he's on that twenty ten. Who else is on that?
- 36:29Speaker 5: Charles Charles Hamilton, Acehood, Cuddy, fucking Charles Hamilton?
- 36:34Speaker 3: Loo?
- 36:35Speaker 1: I think was it the biggest what if? Charles Hamilton
- 36:39Speaker 1: so so so.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Very very very talented. I remember telling like I remember
- 36:47Speaker 4: we was all talking like.
- 36:50Speaker 3: I want to.
- 36:50Speaker 4: I had one session with him a long time ago,
- 36:52Speaker 4: like around that time, like playing stuff and make it
- 36:55Speaker 4: be like he's he was like that.
- 36:57Speaker 1: He was like that, bro, he was like dad. I
- 37:00Speaker 1: remember he had that Green Lantern mixtape where he wrapped
- 37:02Speaker 1: over that stained joint that out on the house side
- 37:05Speaker 1: looking and I won't it shout out to him what.
- 37:09Speaker 2: We were just talking about.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I just sparked up something about our Mickey Fax conversation
- 37:12Speaker 1: because Mickey Facts is up here.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Cook. He just had something that made me think about
- 37:16Speaker 2: the Mickey.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Facts m H.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Cover was on it that cover though, out of everyone
- 37:29Speaker 1: on that cover, anybody still talk to on a regular basis.
- 37:32Speaker 3: M hm, I mean not a regular basis.
- 37:35Speaker 4: But you know, like when I bumped in the eigthood,
- 37:38Speaker 4: like I think somewhere out of the country I forgot,
- 37:42Speaker 4: but I don't really, I don't think so.
- 37:45Speaker 3: I mean I'm cool with everybody.
- 37:46Speaker 4: I still felt like I followed Mickey faxts, you know
- 37:48Speaker 4: what I'm saying, like, I'm cool with Yeah, send on
- 37:52Speaker 4: my man, that's my dog, like that's my nigga. Like yeah,
- 37:56Speaker 4: but I I don't think I've really been talking to
- 37:58Speaker 4: nobody on it.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Well, yeah, but.
- 38:00Speaker 4: I be I be Jiah by myself really like I
- 38:03Speaker 4: don't really I'm very, very very introverted now, like as
- 38:06Speaker 4: opposed about it.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Do you feel like you're pretty like uh like kind
- 38:09Speaker 1: of like you kind of a kind of closed off
- 38:11Speaker 1: to the rest of music industry and in a sense
- 38:12Speaker 1: like you kind of keep yourself at arms links.
- 38:16Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure, like because once you kind of start
- 38:19Speaker 4: realizing what it is, like just it's not it's not
- 38:25Speaker 4: like I love hip hop, like business is scary, like
- 38:28Speaker 4: just I'm straight like.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Even like just like when you when you realize you know,
- 38:33Speaker 1: obviously I'm not a fucking PLATNINGU rapper like you, but
- 38:35Speaker 1: like when you kind of realize like you should just
- 38:38Speaker 1: say no to go into a lot more ship than
- 38:40Speaker 1: you like used to be, Like yeah, I would love
- 38:42Speaker 1: to go to that police party.
- 38:43Speaker 4: Or yeah, because sometimes I feel like a task like
- 38:46Speaker 4: me personally, I just really can't. And it's not their fault,
- 38:51Speaker 4: I guess, but it's I don't like the expectations that
- 38:56Speaker 4: that are on us, Like like I gotta remember you
- 39:00Speaker 4: from two years ago in the club, and now I'm
- 39:02Speaker 4: a dechead because I don't remember you, Like now you're
- 39:05Speaker 4: gonna tell everybody while he was at anything, he ain't
- 39:07Speaker 4: know what. Like all those those things really irked me,
- 39:10Speaker 4: like because it's like bro, and like I might as
- 39:12Speaker 4: well just stay home, like everybody pulling on you all
- 39:15Speaker 4: like it get a lot, you know what I'm saying,
- 39:17Speaker 4: It get a lot?
- 39:18Speaker 1: Like that was what I when we were talking about
- 39:19Speaker 1: Black Thought because of me and Make you were I
- 39:22Speaker 1: asked making who the greatest?
- 39:23Speaker 2: If you took away all all.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Number one's plaques and you just said, who is the
- 39:30Speaker 1: best at rapping? We came to the conclusion that it's
- 39:32Speaker 1: probably Black Thought and Lupe Fiasco I.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Would say that loop every day.
- 39:36Speaker 4: I was say black dot Wayne got black dot Wayne
- 39:40Speaker 4: and Jay they Wayne got be in a conversation.
- 39:43Speaker 3: He's done.
- 39:43Speaker 4: He's done too many, He's done too many crazy verses
- 39:47Speaker 4: like to not be in it.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think Wayne. For me, it's like
- 39:53Speaker 1: I just it's hard for me to like ignore like
- 39:56Speaker 1: the last.
- 39:57Speaker 3: I feel you, you know, I feel you. But like
- 40:00Speaker 3: you know how they've been saying that he's still.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Like they've been saying, like Russell Wilson has played himself
- 40:04Speaker 1: out of the Hall of Fame.
- 40:05Speaker 4: He can't don't don't, don't do not put that on
- 40:08Speaker 4: at Oh No, I'm just saying, like first ballot, he's
- 40:11Speaker 4: hard to remember the Seahawks days.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Does that make sense? Like obviously Wayne's like Wayne's Wayne.
- 40:15Speaker 4: I mean seeing Green that was like ar wasn't No,
- 40:18Speaker 4: that was like three years ago, that joint crazy feature
- 40:20Speaker 4: that was.
- 40:21Speaker 3: The Nickash Yeah, bb King, He's still.
- 40:23Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, Green was crazy.
- 40:25Speaker 3: He's still He'll show you. Yeah, Yeah, he's still.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Would you uh would you put who?
- 40:33Speaker 1: Because today we talked about this on the radio because
- 40:35Speaker 1: the versus thing happening In an old quote from Hove
- 40:37Speaker 1: came up from like twenty twenty one where he says
- 40:40Speaker 1: nobody can step on the versus stage with him now
- 40:41Speaker 1: that it's back. I was like, I think the only
- 40:43Speaker 1: person who I was say it's just Kanye, It's just
- 40:46Speaker 1: one name.
- 40:47Speaker 3: And that I mean because that's awesome.
- 40:48Speaker 4: IM saying jay Z's my personal goat, Like right, he
- 40:52Speaker 4: knows that, he knows that you know me for like
- 40:54Speaker 4: twenty like he's my personal goat. But I don't know Kanye.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Kanye did like because because because like like imagine what
- 41:06Speaker 4: that would look like like James he could do twenty
- 41:08Speaker 4: two twos and go crazy and like all of the lights.
- 41:12Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 41:13Speaker 4: He got stuff that's like super like when he said
- 41:16Speaker 4: state in music that he meant that ship like you
- 41:18Speaker 4: feel me, and it's different.
- 41:20Speaker 3: It's different.
- 41:21Speaker 4: Jay got a lot of but Kanye got like he's
- 41:25Speaker 4: his own genre type ship you feel me, like what
- 41:28Speaker 4: like like graduation around that time like that.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Dude even just like flipping like the Daft punk ship
- 41:35Speaker 1: and like crossing like into the electric.
- 41:37Speaker 3: But it was like, what do you.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Play after Power?
- 41:39Speaker 3: I don't know what you're playing?
- 41:41Speaker 2: If he plays power, what do you play.
- 41:43Speaker 4: Ja got hits though he does, but it's like you
- 41:46Speaker 4: you were really like the excellent, most top tier rapper,
- 41:50Speaker 4: like that's that's a top tier song maker like sense
- 41:55Speaker 4: and all this sudden like you know what, you know
- 41:56Speaker 4: what I'm saying, And he he broke the mold like
- 41:59Speaker 4: he was he was a let's take up musically. So
- 42:01Speaker 4: I don't know if I think they can he can
- 42:04Speaker 4: stand with J like for sure, but who knows, because
- 42:06Speaker 4: nobody ever really really wins versus anyways.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Right right, right, Uh, you're obviously a fan of this
- 42:12Speaker 1: ship for real. Who's the last new artist that just
- 42:14Speaker 1: really impressed you that you don't really have that maybe
- 42:17Speaker 1: you haven't met yet, or somebody who you don't really
- 42:18Speaker 1: have any.
- 42:18Speaker 4: Affiliation with O'Dell, but I mean we got a record
- 42:22Speaker 4: of it, O'Dell, he's continued to impress me.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Uh, Leon Thomas Leon?
- 42:29Speaker 1: What about MC?
- 42:32Speaker 4: Who's the most recent? Ah Man boss Man di Lo?
- 42:39Speaker 3: I mean not really new no more? He's a baby
- 42:42Speaker 3: chief do it? Baby Chief?
- 42:43Speaker 1: Do it?
- 42:43Speaker 3: I like?
- 42:43Speaker 4: I like young from Chicago. Yeah, he's the kid who
- 42:47Speaker 4: looks like he's twelve. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 1: You know what's crazy is like they took some headline,
- 42:53Speaker 1: like a little part of the interview where he said
- 42:55Speaker 1: he's used AI to gain help. Yeah, and like just
- 42:57Speaker 1: took it so much out of context.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm like, yo, Like.
- 43:02Speaker 3: I'm like, why are you all messing with that? Man?
- 43:03Speaker 3: Let that little boy do his thing? Man Like.
- 43:05Speaker 4: I like his I like his style. He like a
- 43:07Speaker 4: little animated. No, he's he's fine. Yeah, I like, Uh,
- 43:11Speaker 4: what's his name? What's the kid from Detroit whose dad
- 43:13Speaker 4: was signed to the Juggalos Baby Tron?
- 43:16Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 43:16Speaker 2: Yeah, Baby Tron got some great.
- 43:18Speaker 3: NBA bars, funny ship, Yeah.
- 43:21Speaker 1: A lot of and the SamArt sins though too.
- 43:22Speaker 4: Yeah, sin oh, I've seen the name. I've seen the name.
- 43:27Speaker 4: I ain't heard this stuff. I heard about it though.
- 43:29Speaker 1: What's your favorite song of the album today? I'm probably
- 43:31Speaker 1: in the case. Tomorrow probably was different yesterday.
- 43:33Speaker 3: I don't know. Uh, Belly maybe Belly, I say Belly.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Hey, we gotta wrap up this interview, another one presented
- 43:41Speaker 1: by hard Dang, Baby you already know.

- 45:04Speaker 1: forever at people's most important days of their life.
- 45:06Speaker 4: That's that's that's such a crazy thing to think about.
- 45:09Speaker 4: But yeah, like I just you know, being in the industry,
- 45:13Speaker 4: you make sacrifices, like you don't really realize how long
- 45:16Speaker 4: you are for like you really don't realize it until like,
- 45:20Speaker 4: you know, like around at seventh eight albums, like oh
- 45:24Speaker 4: my friends is married now kids?
- 45:26Speaker 3: Like what am I doing? Like you know what I'm saying?
- 45:27Speaker 4: Like so, but also like you know, marriage, I used
- 45:30Speaker 4: to look at it like like the people who own
- 45:33Speaker 4: McDonald's don't eat McDonald's, Like you know what I'm saying,
- 45:35Speaker 4: Like that's a wild you know what I'm saying, Like you're.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Going because they know. I know, I know too much,
- 45:41Speaker 3: Like I've seen too much like.
- 45:42Speaker 1: This guy's like, yeah, you know what they say. If
- 45:45Speaker 1: you're selling dope, don't get high on your own supply.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Now I'm selling love songs again, apply dog.
- 45:51Speaker 2: But what was that a record where like Usher had
- 45:53Speaker 2: already did the hook.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Nah.
- 45:55Speaker 4: No, that's the genius that is Sam Due on Devil
- 45:58Speaker 4: the Hook.
- 45:59Speaker 3: But no, Jake one was just like yo yo yo
- 46:02Speaker 3: Jake one.
- 46:03Speaker 1: Did that be like Jake White White Van Music, Jake

- 46:06Speaker 4: Yes, I need one of them joints. Let's do one
- 46:08Speaker 4: of them joints. I'm like, I can do that.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Let's go like I was like on some Jake one
- 46:12Speaker 1: is so fire. By the way, it's just multi the
- 46:15Speaker 1: truth freeway, brother a fire. I didn't know he did
- 46:19Speaker 1: the matrimony.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Damn you.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Uh it feels like you're you're talking about specific relationships
- 46:27Speaker 1: on this project. On I told you my favorite song
- 46:31Speaker 1: on the project is I think it's track seven, Power Problems.
- 46:38Speaker 2: So did did you?
- 46:39Speaker 1: Did? You said pretty much that someone broke your heart? Wait,
- 46:43Speaker 1: I crossed you?
- 46:45Speaker 3: Uh? That was not I I said it on the.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Album somewhere, But you said, essentially you were talking about
- 46:51Speaker 1: being double crossed and you got cheated on.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Did a girl cheat on you who had just got divorced?
- 46:58Speaker 3: Uh? That that's a little bit of art in that.
- 47:04Speaker 4: Oh got this, this is this, there's there's I pulled
- 47:06Speaker 4: from somewhere real on that line.
- 47:08Speaker 1: So, but when you are pulling from somewhere real, I'm
- 47:10Speaker 1: assuming like.
- 47:12Speaker 4: I seen I've seen that. I've seen that happen, but
- 47:14Speaker 4: not to you. But there's something similar happened, but they
- 47:17Speaker 4: wasn't married. God, So I'm pulling from over the place for.
- 47:21Speaker 1: You though, Like, do you like hear from people who
- 47:24Speaker 1: might think that records are about them?
- 47:27Speaker 2: Are you worried about that?
- 47:31Speaker 3: Really?
- 47:33Speaker 1: Because I know you mentioned like your your baby mom
- 47:35Speaker 1: had like left her new husband.
- 47:37Speaker 4: No, no, no, very much together they were fighting or no,
- 47:41Speaker 4: they she moved on. She She's like, there's no nothing
- 47:44Speaker 4: like that was a long time ago.
- 47:46Speaker 2: I'm saying, But I'm just wondering, like when you talk
- 47:48Speaker 2: about real.
- 47:49Speaker 3: But I don't. I don't. I don't do anything with
- 47:51Speaker 3: no ill intent.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Of course I don't.
- 47:54Speaker 4: And it's really my transgressions that I'm talking about.
- 47:56Speaker 2: I don't know, it's your therapy for sure.
- 47:59Speaker 1: You know when when you who that kind of ship,
- 48:00Speaker 1: like I'm sure you know people people will listen to
- 48:03Speaker 1: the music and be like, hey, was.
- 48:04Speaker 3: That about me? Yeah?
- 48:07Speaker 4: Well, I mean maybe sometimes you know, but it's my
- 48:13Speaker 4: like I got these my experiences.
- 48:14Speaker 1: One hundred percent. Do you feel like the because I
- 48:18Speaker 1: feel like you were very early. Obviously your your your
- 48:21Speaker 1: Nigerian and uh afrobeat has had such an insane pop
- 48:25Speaker 1: culture moment over the last like five to seven years
- 48:29Speaker 1: or so. As somebody who was working with whiz Kid
- 48:33Speaker 1: forever ago and a lot of these guys there was
- 48:35Speaker 1: it been to just kind of see that genre just
- 48:37Speaker 1: kind of I.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Mean right, I mean I knew it was gonna happen.
- 48:40Speaker 4: I knew it was inevitable and knew it was going right.
- 48:42Speaker 4: So you know, I'll be proud of seeing them doing anything,
- 48:45Speaker 4: man Like, It's it's a good feeling, like to see
- 48:47Speaker 4: them dudes do it right?
- 48:49Speaker 1: Is there a which in your like who's in your
- 48:52Speaker 1: rotation right now? When it comes to the AfroB.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Chip mm hmm odeal And that's kind it's kind of
- 49:00Speaker 4: fro swing for real. Bern always h David with Tany
- 49:06Speaker 4: the entertainer Shay Vibes Randma about you. It was my
- 49:14Speaker 4: one of my favorite songs this year, Odomotive black Uh
- 49:21Speaker 4: even his nemesis they beefing right now black Bones. I
- 49:23Speaker 4: listened to both of their music.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Yeah, they got to have for bee beef popping.
- 49:28Speaker 3: It's a little bit but I'm not gonna put the
- 49:31Speaker 3: black Sheriff dude, Black Sheriff tough.
- 49:34Speaker 4: He got a Thomas voice, real dope, real dope.
- 49:37Speaker 2: It's super unique.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Yeah, talk about your your chemistry with Binks, who is
- 49:43Speaker 1: also kind of carving out.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Everything.
- 49:47Speaker 3: I was calling everybody do that, Drake.
- 49:49Speaker 2: You know what's funny is Yeah there's the wise after the.
- 49:53Speaker 3: N Yeah yeah, but no, that that's my man, like
- 49:57Speaker 3: is big.
- 49:58Speaker 1: You know I'm tripping bank Is produce it too. Yeah,
- 50:01Speaker 1: that's my brain's broken now.
- 50:03Speaker 3: But no, my man, you do a lot with Yeat,
- 50:06Speaker 3: like you work with a.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Lot of did a lot of love boy, like he
- 50:09Speaker 1: got some shop with Freddy too like that.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he liked that.
- 50:13Speaker 4: It's easy, easy to work with just a musical very creative,
- 50:16Speaker 4: like very very creative.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Like you have different pockets too, because like if you
- 50:20Speaker 1: think about like Yeat and you think about like very sonically.
- 50:24Speaker 4: Different, Yeah that's what I'm saying. And he do international
- 50:26Speaker 4: he just you just like that.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Yeah for sure.
- 50:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:29Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on like the new alternatives a
- 50:32Speaker 1: new underground hip hop?
- 50:33Speaker 4: It's very like things like it's like maybe like probably
- 50:37Speaker 4: what grunge was like classic.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Yeah, like I feel like we don't have like our
- 50:41Speaker 1: kids don't have punk rock anymore that they got like
- 50:44Speaker 1: destroy Lonely.
- 50:45Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. You know what I mean, this room
- 50:48Speaker 3: for everybody.
- 50:49Speaker 2: Do you enjoy the baggy pants return?
- 50:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm a fan of I got a lot.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Of You're a fashion guy, but but I feel like
- 50:57Speaker 1: Jinko's are back, like my kids.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Well not the extra baggy like you know, you know when.
- 51:02Speaker 1: We grew up like like White Trash Wars Juggerots, like
- 51:08Speaker 1: it was like the kids would go to Spencer's and
- 51:10Speaker 1: Mister Rags and they have like you know, the great
- 51:13Speaker 1: malinko ic pts.
- 51:16Speaker 4: It's always evolving. Fashion is ever evolving things, just like
- 51:18Speaker 4: his music is so everything.
- 51:21Speaker 1: I am glad that like skinny jeans are done, like
- 51:24Speaker 1: skinny jis.
- 51:25Speaker 3: Some people ain't even let it go yet, but.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Well I don't think.
- 51:28Speaker 1: I also think there's certain people who's size they're not.
- 51:34Speaker 1: They just know it's just every jeans skinny.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Yeah you know what I'm saying.
- 51:37Speaker 1: But I just feel like there is like this thing
- 51:38Speaker 1: where it's like, yo, motherfuckers, we're talking about shake Shake
- 51:41Speaker 1: gillis Alexander that motherfucker having them pants on bro, they.
- 51:44Speaker 3: Put it on.
- 51:45Speaker 2: No he does. It's like he's like the new Russell Westbrook.
- 51:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:50Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a little out there, but you take risks.
- 51:52Speaker 4: That's what it's all about.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Though, I'm the MVP. I'm taking my fashion risk.
- 51:56Speaker 2: What do you think of his shoe?
- 51:58Speaker 3: It's cool.
- 51:59Speaker 4: I've never seen it in per saying his dedication to
- 52:02Speaker 4: like wearing it, like you don't only put that where
- 52:04Speaker 4: his shoe like to every game for real, Like you
- 52:06Speaker 4: don't want nothing but his shoes.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Did you?
- 52:08Speaker 3: Uh?
- 52:09Speaker 1: Because I I like it when basketball players put effort
- 52:11Speaker 1: into their marketing or their sneaker because I think back
- 52:13Speaker 1: in the day when we had like a I and
- 52:15Speaker 1: Jada kissing. Yeah yeah, did you see the Cat Williams commercial?
- 52:18Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, they funny, man, They funny for that. But
- 52:24Speaker 4: Adds do a good job with his marketing and he
- 52:26Speaker 4: and his brains.
- 52:27Speaker 3: He's a he's a self aware.
- 52:29Speaker 2: He's trying to rap album.
- 52:32Speaker 4: It's his label, it's his brother label. Yeah, I'm wanting
- 52:35Speaker 4: you're on it? Yeah, I got joint push your t
- 52:37Speaker 4: on it?
- 52:38Speaker 1: Oh ship?
- 52:38Speaker 3: Ye?
- 52:39Speaker 2: So his brothers are you who's rapping on it?
- 52:41Speaker 3: You know? And just you and on? That was being pushed.
- 52:45Speaker 3: It's like a compilation Hi Boy, and Sean got a
- 52:47Speaker 3: record on it.
- 52:48Speaker 1: So he kind of just kind of did like his
- 52:49Speaker 1: DJ call, but he's Anthony.
- 52:51Speaker 3: Edwards and his brother be different.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Is there an NBA player if they called and asked
- 52:56Speaker 1: you for a verse, you say no, I don't think
- 53:00Speaker 1: I Like if Lori markt In hit you and was like,
- 53:03Speaker 1: hey man, I know I'm stuck up here in St.
- 53:06Speaker 2: St.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Salt Lake City. I want to put together you know.
- 53:10Speaker 4: No, No, I need a ten day contract. I need
- 53:14Speaker 4: a ten day contract by doing a person.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Like I feel like there's just certain players like
- 53:18Speaker 1: I don't want to hear. You know, if Blake Griffin
- 53:21Speaker 1: started the Moonlight as a hip hop producer post retirement,
- 53:24Speaker 1: I'd be.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Like, nah. But some of them got that, like Javel McGee,
- 53:26Speaker 3: make you make.
- 53:27Speaker 2: Good, Javail slap by the way, Javel McGee.
- 53:29Speaker 1: I guess it's like one of the greatest Israeli basketball
- 53:31Speaker 1: Where's he atwhere?
- 53:33Speaker 3: I don't know?
- 53:34Speaker 2: Falling?
- 53:35Speaker 1: He won a championship yea, and.
- 53:36Speaker 3: He go with the music had some beats, Yeah, he did,
- 53:40Speaker 3: he did that.
- 53:41Speaker 2: He had the worst song on NAS's Hip Hop is Dead.
- 53:44Speaker 3: Oh wow, I don't. I don't know what song it was.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I remember I had the booklet and I was like,
- 53:49Speaker 1: this song is trash?
- 53:51Speaker 2: Who did this beat?
- 53:51Speaker 1: And I looked and I was like, Chris Webber, damn
- 53:56Speaker 1: is making beats by the way all time? Great bullet on,
- 54:00Speaker 1: great bullet Then it was it was too short. It
- 54:03Speaker 1: was quick, very in and out.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Who do you think is the greatest Wizard of all time?
- 54:07Speaker 2: Or bullet?
- 54:08Speaker 1: Uh?
- 54:09Speaker 2: Actually we could that's two questions.
- 54:11Speaker 3: John. Maybe I think it's John.
- 54:14Speaker 2: It's not Brad John.
- 54:16Speaker 4: I put John over Brad as far as like like impact.
- 54:19Speaker 2: And also like a little bit more playoff success.
- 54:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and he wan this dunk contest. I mean that's
- 54:23Speaker 4: not not a big thing, but that's big. Like it's
- 54:25Speaker 4: like it's it's like we ain't ever had no listen
- 54:28Speaker 4: in the dunk contest that it kind of meant something
- 54:30Speaker 4: back then. But the year he's NBA all first scene,
- 54:34Speaker 4: you know, like John West.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I think after I had Bradley Bill and my
- 54:38Speaker 1: sons for two years, I have nothing nice to say
- 54:41Speaker 1: about him, even though he's probably a nice guy, a
- 54:43Speaker 1: good dude. He's a nice guy. I know, he's a
- 54:45Speaker 1: family man, with that being said John wall Over.
- 54:48Speaker 4: Bill, Yeah, yeah, John, but Gilbert Rinas, Yeah, I put
- 54:53Speaker 4: out gil because.
- 54:54Speaker 2: Gilbert at least he had the thing with Lebron go.
- 54:56Speaker 5: Yeah, then you got it might be on the team.
- 54:59Speaker 5: It was like him kron Butler Agian.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Zero was knocking everything down when when he was in DC, Like.
- 55:05Speaker 1: What about bullet era that can go back? That's like
- 55:09Speaker 1: what west unseld like, I don't even know.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Michael Jordan's was the best wizard actually, I.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Mean about all the jerseys. That was the time the
- 55:19Speaker 1: seventeens dropped, right, Yeah, the superca Yeah, super slept on shoot,
- 55:27Speaker 1: by the way, it is I think that was the
- 55:28Speaker 1: last great Jordan eighteen.
- 55:30Speaker 4: No, they't had the button on it like the twenty
- 55:32Speaker 4: threes though. I like the twenty threes a little bit.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Yeah, seventeen though, I think it's the last one where
- 55:37Speaker 1: I'm like, like they just put you said dormbackers. They dropped.
- 55:41Speaker 3: Seventeen.
- 55:41Speaker 1: They're just white, They're like they're like dark, they're kind
- 55:47Speaker 1: of crazy. All right, So is this forest GT Is
- 55:50Speaker 1: that your sneaker?
- 55:51Speaker 3: No?
- 55:52Speaker 1: Just on the campaign for Yeah, it's gotta be kind
- 55:55Speaker 1: of cool. It was getting Nike after making I.
- 55:58Speaker 3: Want to, I want to, I want to do something.
- 56:00Speaker 4: You're like obviously at some point with whatever I do
- 56:02Speaker 4: in the sneaker world.
- 56:03Speaker 2: But do you think you love sneakers or wrestling more?
- 56:06Speaker 4: Uh, sneakers? And it's not I'm not in love with sneakers,
- 56:11Speaker 4: like I like the cool So.
- 56:14Speaker 2: You take wrestling over sneakers.
- 56:15Speaker 3: I'm not. I don't, I'm not. I'm not.
- 56:17Speaker 1: I ain't been watching like that lately for real. So
- 56:20Speaker 1: who's got the better wrestlers right now? AW or wb
- 56:23Speaker 1: W W at wrestling?
- 56:27Speaker 3: I mean, it depends on what you're watching for.
- 56:29Speaker 1: Yeah, what about if you're watching for choreo, choreography a
- 56:35Speaker 1: heavy busting them ships, doggings that will offspring motherfucker be
- 56:39Speaker 1: look doing.
- 56:40Speaker 4: Goddamn trampoline is why it's crazy?
- 56:43Speaker 2: No, for sure?
- 56:44Speaker 1: Well listen, man, I appreciate you pulling up the album
- 56:46Speaker 1: is incredible people, definitely. Man, when when' it's coming out?
- 56:50Speaker 2: November?
- 56:50Speaker 3: Right? Fourteen fourteenth? Ye?
- 56:54Speaker 2: What what is the meaning behind the title?
- 56:57Speaker 3: Everything's a lot, man? Like everything is chaotic right now?
- 57:01Speaker 4: Like go outside like DC, you got like federalis you
- 57:06Speaker 4: know what I mean? Like you got like you know,
- 57:09Speaker 4: like we got degenerate game, like young degenerate gamblers, like you.
- 57:14Speaker 2: Got oh yeah, because it's lid out there.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Everything is just like everything is so heavy now that
- 57:18Speaker 4: the most bizarre thing can happen right now and we'll
- 57:21Speaker 4: forget about it by Wednesday.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Do you feel like the legalization of gambling is kind
- 57:25Speaker 1: of like turned out? It's it's like, I don't I
- 57:27Speaker 1: don't think it's a good West.
- 57:29Speaker 4: You got that, and I like I'll get I'm I'm
- 57:32Speaker 4: gonna get money type of person. So like the game
- 57:35Speaker 4: is a game, but you know that's the slippery slope right.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Then, it is very slippery because then you chase out.
- 57:42Speaker 1: A rough week started with the Wizards actually beating the
- 57:46Speaker 1: Mavericks did because because I don't think people understand like
- 57:52Speaker 1: what happened, Like essentially DC was like the first city
- 57:55Speaker 1: that this.
- 57:57Speaker 2: National Guard thing happened.
- 57:58Speaker 1: Yeah, and and you saw some people it looked it's
- 58:02Speaker 1: terrible that like the army is being essentially turned against
- 58:06Speaker 1: its own people.
- 58:08Speaker 3: It's it's surreal to see. I went when I went
- 58:10Speaker 3: back to d C.
- 58:10Speaker 2: I saw I was like, how crazy is that?
- 58:13Speaker 3: It looks like a movie for real.
- 58:15Speaker 1: It's I feel like we're in the middle of like
- 58:17Speaker 1: one of these like crazy dystopian like nineties movies, Like
- 58:21Speaker 1: it feels like the beginning of like Demolition Man.
- 58:23Speaker 3: Yeah, when you know the president doing what you want
- 58:26Speaker 3: to do.
- 58:26Speaker 4: So it's it's it's like, you know, so that's what
- 58:29Speaker 4: that's what it Really Everything is a lot like going
- 58:32Speaker 4: through what I go through, like personally, like trying to
- 58:36Speaker 4: still dreaming big about my career, like trying to chase it,
- 58:40Speaker 4: get after it, like wow.
- 58:42Speaker 1: That's swiping and being like what do I even what
- 58:44Speaker 1: are we even supposed to do here?
- 58:46Speaker 3: How do I?
- 58:46Speaker 4: How do I fall in love? How do I allow
- 58:49Speaker 4: myself to be vulnerable to somebody?
- 58:52Speaker 3: Like? How do I know? You know? While like while
