Transcript
- 0:06Hello, what's your least favorite scary movie?
- 0:15Zydrake comes in a little glass file.
- 0:17In a little glass file. A little glass file and the
- 0:19little glass file goes into the gun like a battery, and the
- 0:23Zydrake gun goes somewhere against your anatomy.
- 0:26And when the gun goes off, it sparks and you're ready for
- 0:29surgery. Surgery.
- 0:32Well then once you release A Scary Movie, The podcast where
- 0:35we talk about the good, the bad, the ugly and the absurd and all
- 0:39of our favorite and the least favorite scary movies.
- 0:41Because we believe every horror movie rightfully has its fan
- 0:43base. Even if we don't always get it
- 0:45my. Name is Travis.
- 0:46My name's Jesse and happy Pride friends.
- 0:51We're so happy to be celebrating all of our friends this month,
- 0:57supporting love and equality and being who you truly wanna be.
- 1:01And we're kicking it off with a bang with Repo the Genetic
- 1:06Opera. Yeah, our very first musical in
- 1:09the show. Yes, somehow.
- 1:11Somehow. How have we made it three years
- 1:12without me pulling a musical out?
- 1:15I don't know. That's a good question.
- 1:16I thought for sure that we would have touched one of them at
- 1:19least, but no, here we go. Yep, here we are.
- 1:21We're breaking. Grounds, yes.
- 1:24Before we get into it, I do just have a quick announcement which
- 1:29is that like last year Oliver Patreon fun, like proceeds,
- 1:34profits, money. All of the all of the funds from
- 1:39Patreon. Are going to the Trevor Project
- 1:42at the end of the month? Yeah.
- 1:43So if you want to subscribe to the Patreon for a single month,
- 1:47you can totally do that. And that money goes to the
- 1:49Trevor Project, which is a resource for trans youth.
- 1:54Get some sweet content too. Well, it's a resource for LGBTQ
- 1:58youth to be more Yeah clear. And you can access all of our
- 2:03content. Historically, I think you have
- 2:07the option to download stuff. So if you if you're like, I
- 2:10don't have time to listen to everything you.
- 2:11Really download it. Pretty sure that.
- 2:14Doesn't sound right. Somebody could just like do like
- 2:17a quick like thing and then download.
- 2:19Well, I guess you wouldn't get the new stuff.
- 2:21Yeah, whatever. OK.
- 2:22It's fine, it's very good 'cause I'm OK with it.
- 2:25Yeah, yeah. No, I'm totally OK with people
- 2:27just signing up for this month, you know, just to make a
- 2:30donation and also get some shit in return.
- 2:32Yeah. So yeah, the link to our Patreon
- 2:34is at the very bottom of our show notes, so just scroll to
- 2:36the very bottom and you'll have a link that'll take you right
- 2:39there. Oh yeah.
- 2:40So we have a poll. We have a poll.
- 2:44We have a poll. Yeah.
- 2:45So we wrapped up prom month last week.
- 2:49So with our prom movies, we just asked everybody, who from that
- 2:53movie are you taking the prom? So I had four options.
- 2:57They were Billy, Clarissa, Shawna, and Marty.
- 3:01So over on Instagram, 40% would go with Billy, 40% Clarissa, 20%
- 3:09Shawna, nobody, Marty, sorry. Over on Twitter, 33% Billy, 50%
- 3:17Clarissa, 17% Marty no Shawna over there.
- 3:22OK, well, as we talked about last week, we do know Brian
- 3:26Bremer and that dude can party. So I'm going, I'm going to prom
- 3:32with Marty. I'm taking Marty.
- 3:35He's. Taking Marty, OK, well, you can
- 3:39have him. I'll go with Corissa because I
- 3:41think Corissa would be the most fun.
- 3:43OK, Yeah. Oh, she'll be wild for sure.
- 3:46She's. Wild yeah, might move her body
- 3:48in weird ways, but you know, whatever that's.
- 3:51That's how you get the dancing. Yeah, that's pretty much it.
- 3:54All right, that's our pole. OK, so let's talk about repo.
- 3:57OK. I'm gonna do background and then
- 4:01like some of my stuff will tie into why I picked this for our
- 4:07Pride Month coverage, OK? And I will, my little factoid is
- 4:13going to tie into some of what I talked about.
- 4:15So I'll share that there. It's a It's a definition of a
- 4:19term that I just learned about recently that I thought would be
- 4:21fun to share. OK, yeah, I was, I was curious
- 4:23why this one came. Up so that we'll get to all of
- 4:26that shortly. So Reap of the Genetic Opera
- 4:29premiered July 18th, 2008 at the Fantasia Film Festival in Canada
- 4:34and had a limited US release on November 7th, 2008.
- 4:38We watch it on Tubi, but as of June 1st you can stream it on
- 4:41Tubi, Pluto TV, Fandango at home, YouTube Prime Time, or
- 4:45YouTube TV Premium. You can also rent it from Google
- 4:47Play written by Terrence Smith and Terrence Dunich.
- 4:52Dunich. I listen to the pronunciation on
- 4:56that. They had a weird like a
- 4:58inflection with it like Dunich. Terrence Dunich.
- 5:02Directed by Darren Lynn Bausman. Yeah, that was the big surprise.
- 5:07You acted up at the end of the last episode.
- 5:09Yeah, so very exciting. It was weird, but it made a lot
- 5:14of sense once I started watching the movie.
- 5:16Yes, yes. Music by Darren Smith and
- 5:19Terrance Dunich. Really.
- 5:22OK, well, I guess that makes sense.
- 5:23It's a musical. Yeah, and some of my additional
- 5:26background information will make it make even more sense.
- 5:29OK, special effects makeup. The prosthetics coordinator is
- 5:33none other than one Francois Dejonne.
- 5:36Oh, from saw. Oh wow.
- 5:38OK. Yep.
- 5:38So their bubbies confirmed Kim Dao was in.
- 5:44She was the contacts coordinator since we had a lot of special
- 5:46effects contacts involved, and Mary Beth Krasnev was the key
- 5:52makeup artist. So very cool.
- 5:55Starring Alexa Pena Vega as Shiloh Wallace, Paul Sorvino as
- 6:00Roddy Largo, Anthony Head as Nathan Slash The Repo Man, Sarah
- 6:04Brightman is Blind Mag, Paris Hilton is Amber Sweet, Bill
- 6:08Mosley is Luigi Largo, Kevin Ogre Ogilvy as Pavi Largo, and
- 6:13Terrence Dunich as Grave Robber. Oh, that was him, Yes.
- 6:17Oh, OK. Yes, he has been involved in
- 6:20this basically from the beginning, from his early days.
- 6:24It feels like Grave Robber was just away for him.
- 6:27He's like, I want to be on screen and sing too like.
- 6:30Well, he and we talked about this independently, but I had
- 6:36this confused with the Devil's Carnival, so for a long time I
- 6:39thought I had seen this, but I'd actually seen Devil's Carnival.
- 6:43He's in that, too. He's Lucifer.
- 6:45Oh, OK. So yeah, he's.
- 6:46And Darren Lynn Bausman directed that as well.
- 6:49Did he? Yes.
- 6:50I didn't peg him as like a big musical type of dude.
- 6:54Dude's a nerd. Yeah, I guess that's true.
- 6:56But man, OK, two musicals on this.
- 6:58Phone actually three 'cause there's a second devil's
- 7:01carnival. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 7:02I wonder if he's involved with the Saw musical.
- 7:05Oh my God, he would have to be right.
- 7:08And then also, this makes sense 'cause we talked about the movie
- 7:11he came back for, he gave up Broadway.
- 7:15Yeah. And we're like, huh, Broadway.
- 7:17Wonder what's going on now we know no?
- 7:20No, it is not. What a shame.
- 7:22Created by Cooper Jordan, music and lyrics by Anthony D'angelis
- 7:27and Patrick Spencer. So yeah, different people, but
- 7:31that would have made a lot of sense.
- 7:32I think that would have been funny.
- 7:33Like, hey, can you come do another saw thing?
- 7:36It's like one condition has to be some singing.
- 7:41So, Travis, it's time for our favorite game Budget or Buckton.
- 7:47This is a bug, Ted. It is.
- 7:49It's a higher bug Ted than I was expecting, but still definitely
- 7:52bug Ted. Eight and a half million.
- 7:54Wow, that's a lot higher than I was expecting.
- 7:57Yeah, opening box office of 53.6000 and a worldwide gross of
- 8:02188,000. Full cult status.
- 8:05It has a 6.4 out of 10 on IMDb. OK, that's good.
- 8:09So I have 3 movies and this theme is going to make sense a
- 8:15little bit more in a minute, but repo is originally based on a
- 8:19stage play, so my theme for other 2008 movies that I've
- 8:24pulled is movies based on other existing source material.
- 8:28OK, cool. That makes a lot of sense.
- 8:30Yeah, first one is the ruins. The Ruins.
- 8:36Jesse just made the face of you. Right, yeah, the Jonathan Tucker
- 8:39overbite, So the Ruins that was, it's based off of a book, and
- 8:43actually the author of the book, Scott Smith, wrote the
- 8:45screenplay. So that's why it's a pretty
- 8:48decent adaptation. However, if you liked the movie
- 8:51and you like reading, definitely go read the book.
- 8:53It's a very good book. The movie's good.
- 8:55Why the fuck did I think that that was Stephen King?
- 8:59And cause spooky vines. Yeah, it seems like something
- 9:03that he would write. Yeah, you're not far off like
- 9:08that. Released April 4th, 2008 on a
- 9:11budget of $8 million, worldwide gross of 22.8 million and an
- 9:16IMDb score of 5.9 out of 10. That movie was way bigger than I
- 9:19expected and I didn't even hear about it back then.
- 9:22Like I I was not even aware of its existence.
- 9:25I was only aware of it purely for the fact that I really loved
- 9:29the book. So yeah, oh, you're the one that
- 9:31made me watch this. Yeah, I was like, I want to see
- 9:33how I want to see how faithful the because I didn't actually
- 9:35watch the movie at the time. And then I was like, I want to
- 9:39see how good an adaptation it is.
- 9:42And like I said, it helps that it's written.
- 9:43By the author I was gonna say I imagine it's probably pretty
- 9:46faithful, all things considered. OK, second movie.
- 9:49It's a remake prom night. Prom night.
- 9:53Everything is all right, yeah. Man, been a long time since I've
- 9:58seen that one. Yeah, I haven't watched it.
- 10:01I think we watched it together once in college and I haven't
- 10:04seen it since then. Oh, that might be next year's
- 10:06prom night in May Whatever. Maybe so.
- 10:10That released April 11th, 2008. A budget of $20 million, a
- 10:15worldwide gross of 57.2 million, and an IMDb score of 3.9 out of
- 10:2110. What 3.9?
- 10:23Seriously. No fucking way.
- 10:26Isn't there like a big name in that?
- 10:28Too Brittany Snow. Yeah, Brittany Snow's in that.
- 10:30Well, she wasn't big then, but like, that's wow.
- 10:33Jesus, I didn't know people hated it that much.
- 10:36I remember nothing about it, so I don't.
- 10:38Remember anything about it? Watch it.
- 10:40For some reason, I'm still picturing Jamie Lee Curtis.
- 10:42I'm like, that doesn't make sense.
- 10:45OK. And then finally, I have a
- 10:46sequel. OK.
- 10:48Joyride 2. Hey, Joyride two man.
- 10:52That released October 7th, 2008 straight to home video.
- 10:57That's a budget of 5 million. No worldwide gross cause.
- 11:01Again, straight to home video. You probably, well, maybe not,
- 11:04but there might be numbers out there for how well it's sold.
- 11:07Maybe 5.1 out of 10 on IMDb. That's better than I was
- 11:11expecting. Honestly I thought people would
- 11:14hate that movie. Yeah, I have a lot of love for
- 11:18that one. Well, of course we like it.
- 11:21That's our type of shit right there.
- 11:23And that's the type of shit that I would acknowledge, like, hey,
- 11:25not the best movie, but it's good for me.
- 11:29OK, I have 3 taglines. OK, not your parents, Opera.
- 11:34Not your parents opera. You don't know my parents.
- 11:39Assassin, Murderer, Monster. OK.
- 11:46It's not just a movie, it's an event.
- 11:50OK. So.
- 11:52Those are OK, Yeah. They're not like selling me on
- 11:54the movie. No.
- 11:56And I know that they did. This is, I guess, kind of going
- 11:59a little bit into the fun facts. They did a lot of like street
- 12:01petitioning to try and get a wider release for this movie,
- 12:05get some funding, get some support from the general public.
- 12:08Subway Studios would financially back it.
- 12:10Darren Lund Bosmann actually had to do a lot of like the
- 12:12marketing himself. It was very like grassroots
- 12:15almost. Why the fuck did Lionsgate and I
- 12:17want to back this thing? They made it.
- 12:20They just want to shit out a movie that nobody would watch.
- 12:22I have no clue, especially because Bowsman seemed like he
- 12:27was on good terms with them considering he did so many of
- 12:31the Saw movies up until that point.
- 12:33He'd done what, 2-3 and four? This to me made me think back to
- 12:38our society episode where I feel like he agreed to do a Saw
- 12:42movie. He's like I'll do another one
- 12:44but let me do this thing too like A2 picture.
- 12:47Deal. That's what I was picturing
- 12:48happening, but it doesn't sound like he got as much support.
- 12:52That's, I mean, that's probably like, OK, do this, saw one,
- 12:54yeah. And then they're like, OK, I
- 12:55guess do this one. Whatever.
- 12:57We don't really care. We're not actually going to
- 12:59help. Yeah, just whatever.
- 13:01OK, so I'm going to go into fun facts and I'm going to give my
- 13:05little LGBT the more you know moment.
- 13:09And this is a term that we actually learned recently from a
- 13:12very, very dear friend of ours who has recently come out as
- 13:16trans. That's all the information I'm
- 13:18going to give because they're not fully out publicly.
- 13:21So identity safe. But we learned the term egg from
- 13:27them. An egg is a slang term for
- 13:29somebody who's trans but doesn't know it yet.
- 13:31And you'll find like a lot of discussion online and like trans
- 13:35friendly places where they'll talk about like an egg or like
- 13:38an egg crack moment, which is a person like a moment where you
- 13:41like start to realize like, oh, oh, oh, maybe.
- 13:47And the reason I bring this up is because when I was listening
- 13:49to this NZ Prom covering this movie, thinking that I'd seen it
- 13:55and then realizing part way through that I was thinking of
- 13:58the Devil's Carnival. They were talking about having
- 14:03some trans friends who all said that like Pavi was like an egg
- 14:06crack moment for them a little bit because of him being able to
- 14:10swap his face on and off and the idea that you can just get a new
- 14:13face and feel more yourself. And like at the end, he
- 14:17literally takes his sister's face on top of that.
- 14:21So all of the characters, this is so 2008.
- 14:25All of the characters had official Myspace pages that were
- 14:28run by the crew and linked through the official repo
- 14:31website. Seriously.
- 14:32Yes, wow. Oh my God, I would like to see
- 14:35Bill Mosley's character's page. I know.
- 14:37Unfortunately they're all down now because it's 24, but the
- 14:44Pavi's Myspace page confirmed that he's bisexual.
- 14:47OK, so it's Canon and then I also wanted to read from this
- 14:53blog, which I will link in the show notes as well because
- 14:57there's a lot of like really good discussion just about their
- 14:59love for the movie in general. It's by baby We can be magic
- 15:02Beep and it's called In defense of Reap of the Genetic Opera.
- 15:07I like this person's reading on Mag who gives tragic lonely
- 15:12lesbian energy. Mag is also pretty gay.
- 15:17I'm just going to say it. Mag and Marnie definitely banged
- 15:19more than once, and I go so far to to say this may have even
- 15:22been an ongoing polyamorous thing during Marnie's other
- 15:25relationships. Ladies, is it gay to record a
- 15:27video of your dead BFF singing her inspirational catch phrase
- 15:30in your robotic eyes and keep it there for 17 years?
- 15:33From what we see, Mag doesn't have a social life to speak of
- 15:35and honestly, this backs up my theory of her being gay.
- 15:38Gene Co probably doesn't want their spokeswoman to be an out
- 15:41lesbian or bisexual woman slash whatever.
- 15:43So it's one of the biggest flaws about this movie.
- 15:45There's no actual gay content. Mag is the loneliest, most
- 15:48tragic lesbian and I love her and want to protect her.
- 15:52Interesting. OK.
- 15:53Yeah, so I, I think that was an interesting read on her and I
- 15:58got that kind of vibes just the way like she talked about Marnie
- 16:01and stuff. And I think it's interesting
- 16:04that other people read the character similarly.
- 16:07Yeah, I, I think that that's cool.
- 16:08I'm trying to say this with like being respectful, but like, I
- 16:11think it's also like, you know, people can have like platonic,
- 16:14like relationships like that too.
- 16:16Like, hey, that was my best friend.
- 16:18Hey, like, I'm not going to shit on this whole thing though.
- 16:20Like, I'm just like, I understand why people like, you
- 16:23know, like art is a thing for people to just like make their
- 16:26own impressions and interpretations.
- 16:28And if that's like you imprinting your thing onto that,
- 16:32that's cool. Like that's fine, no?
- 16:35And I agree. And I don't wanna say that every
- 16:37two same sex characters that have chemistry like I don't want
- 16:41to say that they're definitely like that.
- 16:44There are gay undertones to it. Same way that I don't like every
- 16:49time that there's a man and a woman and a sit together and
- 16:52it's like, Oh well, they can't be platonic.
- 16:53That's my only thing with stuff like that.
- 16:55It's because it just kind of reinforces the whole thing.
- 16:57Well, these two people can't be close if like unless they are to
- 17:03be interpreted as like romantically involved when you
- 17:06know. I absolutely agree.
- 17:08I just think there's a little bit something about the way she
- 17:11talks about her, OK, beyond just like a dead best friend thing.
- 17:16So, yeah, so these are some elements that I thought had like
- 17:20a nice fit with our Pride Month discussions that we're having
- 17:25throughout June. I think we've also got this
- 17:29element of surgery being so readily available.
- 17:35You know, we've got this dystopian version of it where
- 17:38like, your organs are repossessed and that and
- 17:42capitalism's still terrible. And of course, but I think like
- 17:45the flip side is imagining a utopia where like trans people
- 17:50that want to have gender affirming surgery have that
- 17:53readily available for them. And there was actually a line
- 17:55that I highlighted at one point, one of the testimonials during
- 17:58the opera at the the climax of the movie before Gene Co, my
- 18:03anatomy was completely repressed.
- 18:05And I think that's a really kind of.
- 18:08See, I I didn't know what that person meant by that, but that
- 18:11makes a lot of sense right there.
- 18:13Yeah, so I I kind of like imagining the the utopian flip
- 18:18side of this movie where people are cool and can get the
- 18:22treatment that they want and need.
- 18:24I think, yeah, like in the universe of this movie, like,
- 18:27it's probably advertised, like super commercial.
- 18:29I was like, hey, come over here and change your sex if you want
- 18:32to, you know? Yeah, well, it and it's more
- 18:35like gender affirming, you know what I mean?
- 18:37Like it it the outside parts don't necessarily equal reality.
- 18:43But I do think that we've seen instances of people that have
- 18:47gotten gender affirming surgery and how much is meant to them.
- 18:50Think about Elliot Page like living his best life since
- 18:53having top surgery and like the genuine I love that picture of
- 18:57them when he's like out by the pool and he's just so fucking
- 19:00happy and talking about how he feels more true to himself now.
- 19:05Yeah, that's cool. I, I like stuff like that.
- 19:07Yeah, I I'm not that familiar with the picture you're talking
- 19:09about, but. I'm sure if I showed it to you,
- 19:12you'd recognize it, maybe. And then spoilers for this
- 19:16season of Drag Race All Stars. But got Mick recently won for
- 19:22won a challenge for this amazing outfit where I'm gonna use she
- 19:31because she's in drag. So you don't know.
- 19:35Got Mick is a drag queen, but she outside of drag is a trans
- 19:39man. So there's a lot of like.
- 19:41Yeah, you told me about. Those.
- 19:42OK yeah. So she did this outfit and
- 19:46basically there's arms coming around from the back and they're
- 19:48holding scalpels. And she, like, highlighted her
- 19:52top surgery scars. And it's like a really fucking
- 19:56powerful thing. And I think all of this ties
- 19:59into the whole like surgery bit. And kind of bordering on the
- 20:04line of like, what would people consider elective surgery versus
- 20:07what is medically necessary? And not all trans folks want to
- 20:12do surgery. A lot of them do not have the
- 20:17means to because. I imagine it's super expensive.
- 20:20Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say once again, capitalistic hellhole.
- 20:23Don't they have like funds for that though?
- 20:25Like charities that help with that type of thing?
- 20:29I feel like that's a thing that I've seen before.
- 20:30Yes, but those funds only go so far and there's always hoops to
- 20:35jump through. And that's not even considering
- 20:36the social aspect of how hard it is to be out as a trans person
- 20:43in our society. So there there's just a lot of
- 20:45elements going on. And this maybe really got me
- 20:47thinking about a lot of that stuff also.
- 20:50Like it's just, it's very like gothy and punk.
- 20:54And I think those are scenes that are tend to be a lot more
- 20:57LGBT oriented because a lot of LGBT folks feel more accepted in
- 21:05that kind of a space where, like, the rules aren't really
- 21:08the rules, you know? Yeah.
- 21:10So this movie has that vibe to it.
- 21:14So those are all of the reasons that I wanted to pick this movie
- 21:18for this month. All right, Yeah, I was curious
- 21:20because watching it on its surface level, I didn't really
- 21:24understand it's a movie. Yeah.
- 21:27But a lot of people, I can see where you can come to these
- 21:31conclusions if you, you know, pick up on the little details.
- 21:34Yeah. And, and like we said, it's not
- 21:36always that like, a movie that we're gonna cover is gonna be
- 21:39explicitly like have queer themes or characters or cast
- 21:46your crew members. But sometimes it's about the
- 21:48readings, sometimes about the the discussion that can go
- 21:51around it. So that's a lot of what this one
- 21:53involved. Yeah.
- 21:55And this was especially difficult to navigate because it
- 21:59was the first watch for both of us.
- 22:00So I had to do some pre research.
- 22:03Yeah. Research, if you will.
- 22:05Research. Yeah.
- 22:06It was tough for me too, because, like, you know, it's a
- 22:08musical, so like, it's also a different type of format.
- 22:11Yeah. We've ever talked about.
- 22:12So I. This is the fewest amount of
- 22:14notes I've had for a movie in a long time because like, it's
- 22:17just like, all right, here's the subject that they're singing
- 22:20about. All right, Like, I'm not like,
- 22:22writing, like, minor details. Yeah.
- 22:25During it. I found it so frustrating that
- 22:27so much of the forward momentum of the movie was through cartoon
- 22:34like comic book style and I was like I can't read the screen and
- 22:37take my notes. So fast.
- 22:39It was so fast. OK, so I have some fun facts.
- 22:44OK. So Terence Smith, he had the
- 22:48idea for this when basically a friend of his was going into
- 22:54bankruptcy and as shit was getting repoed, it was like,
- 22:58what if that happened to her organs?
- 23:00It's a scary thought and I feel like that could actually be like
- 23:03a legit future. It makes me think of we're
- 23:05joking around. One of my sisters had her when
- 23:10she had her oldest. She made a joke about like oh we
- 23:13finally got her paid off because they had to pay the deductible
- 23:17on her because she was considered.
- 23:19She's a new human so none of the prenatal stuff went towards.
- 23:23Yeah, having a baby is not free. Apparently, yeah.
- 23:26So she made a joke about finally having her paid off.
- 23:29I was like, all right, baby repo, you can back up.
- 23:33So it just made me think of that a little bit too.
- 23:36So they he partnered up with Terence Zunich.
- 23:42They wrote this musical together and they actually started it as
- 23:47a stage play. And it was originally called The
- 23:49Necromerchant's Debt, which. I like that.
- 23:52Title. So yeah, I like.
- 23:54That title better than what we. Have so gothic and I love it.
- 23:58And it went through a lot of different iterations on the
- 24:01stage. They kept changing lyrics,
- 24:03dropping songs, adding songs, changing storylines like an
- 24:07original. The original iteration, Roddy
- 24:11wasn't actually the father, he was brothers with Luigi and Pavi
- 24:19and Amber with Luigi's daughter. Wow.
- 24:22Yeah. So they ended up like
- 24:23rearranging all of that. Yeah, I like this, the dynamic
- 24:27we have a lot. Better.
- 24:28Yeah, I I like Paul Sorvino as a grumpy CEO.
- 24:34Is he like somebody else? Like he looked a little bit
- 24:36familiar? I don't know.
- 24:38He's in Goodfellas, so nothing I've seen him in.
- 24:41I've never seen him. He's.
- 24:42Got yeah, he's got a, he's got a long filmography.
- 24:46Yeah. I always want to say
- 24:47bibliography, and I don't know why.
- 24:52So, yeah. So this went on from about 2002
- 24:54to 2005. The initial idea happened in
- 24:57like, 1996 or so. So this is a long time coming,
- 25:01long time coming. And eventually they wanted to
- 25:05make it into a film. And Darren Lynn Bausman directed
- 25:08and financed the 10 minute shorts that they were going to
- 25:11use to try and pitch it to production companies.
- 25:14Wow, I'm curious how you condensed this into a 10 minute
- 25:17short. Wait till you hear who some of
- 25:20the people were in that 10 minute short.
- 25:22Are they saw people? They were saw people?
- 25:26Is it kosis? No God I wish no Shawnee Smith
- 25:30was originally Amber Sweet, but at that time the character was
- 25:34called Heather Sweet. I could see her being in this.
- 25:36And guess he was a repo man. Tobin Bell.
- 25:40No, not not a soft person. I.
- 25:46Don't fucking know. Michael Rooker.
- 25:48Michael Rooker. Michael Rooker.
- 25:50You know, that makes sense because they brought him in for.
- 25:54Oh no, that was just because he was doing a favorite for James
- 25:56Gunn. Yeah.
- 25:57Scream clean. This is what I was thinking.
- 25:59You know what? Wholesome movie slash TV dads?
- 26:03If we couldn't have had Tony Head, I would have been very
- 26:06happy with Michael Rooker. As a wholesome TV dad.
- 26:09Yeah, Giles's dad. He's Giles's dad.
- 26:13No, Giles is. Oh, Dad.
- 26:15Oh, I thought you were saying Michael Rooker is like a sweet
- 26:17guy on TV. I'm like, that motherfucker
- 26:19played Henry. He is the guy from.
- 26:22I was thinking of him in Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 26:26That's a little bit better, but that's one instance.
- 26:28Everything else, he's kind of a psycho.
- 26:30He might be your father, boy, but he ain't your daddy.
- 26:32Slither just eating all that nasty ass Me.
- 26:36He's a bad husband than. That I just like Michael Rooker.
- 26:39Let me enjoy him. No, I like him too.
- 26:41He's amazing. I love that guy.
- 26:44OK, finally, so this is going to mean nothing to you, but Pavi is
- 26:51played by Kevin Ogre Ogilvy. As I said, his stage name is
- 26:56Nevik Ogre and he was a band member for Skinny Puppy, which
- 27:02is the Canadian band in the genre of music you don't listen
- 27:05to. What kind of?
- 27:06It's hold on, let me get the official description.
- 27:11Skinny Puppy sounds like it would be like an indie rock like
- 27:14alternative, like a surf rock band.
- 27:17You told me that. Electro industrial band,
- 27:21industrial rock and Electro industrial genre is what they
- 27:25called. OK themselves, I'm not.
- 27:27I'm not familiar with that. That doesn't really help me.
- 27:30Yep, see it. OK.
- 27:32And then another musician had a cameo that would be none other
- 27:36than one Joan Jett. Joan Jet's in this.
- 27:39Yes, she was in the band that was playing during Shiloh's 17
- 27:43song. Oh, really?
- 27:45Yeah, so those are my fun facts, and I think that means we're
- 27:49ready to talk about good, bad, ugly and absurd.
- 27:52OK, that means I kick it off yes all right, I hate being the one
- 27:56to kick this one off because this is a very much Jesse type
- 28:00of movie. So one thing I will say I liked
- 28:03about this is I really like the concept that they had for this.
- 28:06I like the idea of this dystopian future where people
- 28:10actually do repo and make a business out of harvesting and
- 28:14like selling organs. Like that's shit that I hadn't
- 28:17really thought of before. And that is kind of a terrifying
- 28:21thought. Like whenever they rip out the
- 28:23organs in this movie and they have barcodes on them like.
- 28:26Yeah, that scene of him like pulling out the spine and then
- 28:30checking the barcode. Holy shit.
- 28:33That's like, fuck man, that sucks, but it's such a cool
- 28:36idea. I really really respect that.
- 28:40I thought that it was kind of neat to have like a little bit
- 28:43of like comic book illustration to do some of the exposition in
- 28:48this here. To me, though, that also made me
- 28:52think it was a cheap movie because like, well, we don't
- 28:55have the funds to shoot this, so let's just draw a little bit of
- 28:59what's happening here. A lot of the more negative
- 29:01reviews I read said the same thing.
- 29:03I mean, it, it kind of cheapens the movie a little bit, but I
- 29:06mean, like as a guy that likes to like look at illustrations, I
- 29:11appreciate that part at least. Especially like the design of
- 29:14the repo man. Yeah, it's really cool.
- 29:17I like that was that was something that I wasn't
- 29:19expecting was his whole twist of being a like a repo man.
- 29:24Like I thought he was killing repo man and then it turns out
- 29:28no, he's actually like he is the repo man.
- 29:31But that's why they listened to him about Shiloh.
- 29:34Why? Cuz he's the repo man so the
- 29:36other like genco people when they were gonna kill her for
- 29:41being in the graveyard? He's like, no.
- 29:43Leave her alone. I see.
- 29:45Yeah. OK.
- 29:45Yeah, Yeah. I mean, like, I like the journal
- 29:49style, like the movie that's going on here.
- 29:52So, you know, those are my goods.
- 29:54What do you have? I agree with you about the
- 29:57storyline. It's one of those things that it
- 29:59like, starts from a general everyday thing, which is also
- 30:02pretty, like, fucked up and sad to think about.
- 30:04And then making it even more horrifying.
- 30:07Yeah, I like that it's all in this tiny little island, which
- 30:11is just a cool aesthetic and creepy and a.
- 30:14Tiny little island with like a shit ton of buildings and it's
- 30:17like that thing is going to sink.
- 30:23It's not going to last too long. And I, I like that the story, it
- 30:29isn't too complex. You just along for the ride with
- 30:32it. And I enjoy that we don't keep a
- 30:34ton of secrets about it throughout.
- 30:36And that's fine because I'm not here for like, a plot twist.
- 30:38I'm just here to enjoy the movie.
- 30:40Yeah. I like the general aesthetic of
- 30:43it all. I like that it feels very like
- 30:46punk and DIY, which is part of the reason I was surprised that
- 30:49the budget was as high as it was, because it feels very much
- 30:53like bring your own wardrobe kind of moment.
- 30:56Yeah, it does. And they've got that RuPaul's
- 31:00Drag Race season one Vaseline filter over the camera to hide
- 31:04some of the rougher edges it it. But I feel like it works for the
- 31:10feeling of this. I'm not mad about it.
- 31:13OK, I have one more I get to say.
- 31:15I thought that they, sorry, I know I'm kind of jumping into
- 31:18your thing, but I thought that they did a really good job of
- 31:23combined. Like I, I imagine shooting a
- 31:25musical is super difficult to do.
- 31:27Oh God. And they did a good job of like
- 31:31mix like editing and like making everything mesh together
- 31:34whenever characters are in completely different
- 31:36environments, stuff like that. Like I imagine that that's like
- 31:39a difficult task and like everything flowed pretty well.
- 31:44Like, you know, nothing really felt like it was out of place or
- 31:48anything. Yeah.
- 31:50And I like that they just they really leaned into the dystopian
- 31:53futuristicness of it all where like you can we have to have
- 31:58something that's kind of a familiar feeling.
- 32:01And this definitely hits harder after COVID.
- 32:04What what life? But also you can play with some
- 32:09of the the rules and the technology and just have fun
- 32:12with it in, you know, a very dark kind of sense.
- 32:17So I really enjoy that. And I enjoy that we see a lot of
- 32:20organs. You would think what a movie
- 32:22that's like on the cheaper side. You're not they're gonna cut
- 32:26away from the Oregon snatching. But we see him like full on
- 32:30fondling some spleens and. He's got a little bit, Yeah.
- 32:33He's got like a heart and a spleen.
- 32:35I think that that's the extent of it.
- 32:36But we see it multiple times. Yeah.
- 32:38They. Yeah.
- 32:39I mean, come on, man, If you're gonna give us this premise, you
- 32:42gotta at least deliver on that. I do like, especially knowing
- 32:46that it's Francois Dejanet. I think that kind of helps
- 32:49because that man knows his prosthetic.
- 32:51Did he do saw three? I feel like he must have.
- 32:54I feel. Like he did most of the Saw
- 32:56movies. Because that one is the fucking
- 32:58best. Saw movie with the facts for
- 33:00sure. So yeah, I just, it's all
- 33:03around. It's 100% the type of thing I
- 33:06love. I had a very good time with
- 33:09this. Cool, what is your bad?
- 33:12OK, so this is a movie that's very much gonna like, you're
- 33:16gonna have to like this type of music to really get into it.
- 33:19And unfortunately this isn't my genre of music that I like.
- 33:23So like, it's not exactly, you know, like it, it's weird.
- 33:30Like, this isn't exactly what I would think a musical would
- 33:34sound like. And I think that that's probably
- 33:36their goal. I think that they're trying to
- 33:38go like, more of like a heavier. Like, I wouldn't like maybe more
- 33:45hardcore. I wouldn't say metal, but like,
- 33:48it's a little bit more like thrashy.
- 33:50Yeah. And like, some of the songs just
- 33:54kind of didn't feel like they fit this type of movie.
- 33:59Yeah, I will say that tonally it's a bit all over the place.
- 34:03Yeah, like, and they do this thing so many times where it's a
- 34:08bunch of people singing at the same time, like kind of singing
- 34:11over each other. Babe, that's just musicals.
- 34:14That's musicals. I know, but like, does every
- 34:16song in a musical do that? Like usually people is like, and
- 34:19here's my turn to sing and now here's your turn to sing and
- 34:21then we'll hit the same thing together.
- 34:23But this is like them like hey, I'm saying this shit like no,
- 34:26I'm going to say this shit. And they're like saying at the
- 34:27same time. And it's just like, hey fellas,
- 34:30fellas, let's take it. Let's take some turns here do.
- 34:33You remember the key and peels get one night at a time.
- 34:37Oh yeah, in. Front of blame this.
- 34:39What was well, that's see, I think that they are making fun
- 34:42of that one song or see, I don't fucking know musical.
- 34:45So I'm I might be I'm speaking this bad is brought to you by
- 34:49Travis. This is all of shit that like
- 34:52doesn't work for me. OK, that's.
- 34:54Fine, that is completely fine. Maybe This is why I just don't
- 34:58really gravitate towards a musical.
- 35:00This is just because like take turns like I do.
- 35:04I need to be a fucking moderator up there and let you guys like
- 35:11another thing about this movie, like one of the things that
- 35:14shocked me so much when you said the budget is it feels so
- 35:18claustrophobic, like nothing. And I don't think that I don't
- 35:22know if that's intentional. Are they trying to go for a
- 35:24stage fill or are they trying to make this thing feel like it's
- 35:28an open, like real world? Because it doesn't feel like an
- 35:31existing world to me. I think part of the problem is
- 35:33that it's coming from being on a stage, so a lot of it is written
- 35:37with that kind of a thing in mind.
- 35:40So there are limited locales because of what had already been
- 35:46written and existed. But adapted like this thing was
- 35:49like, that was 10 years ago, you know?
- 35:52Yeah, but also like they would have had to add like a bunch of
- 35:54different scenes and stuff. Like they'd have to add
- 35:56different storylines to add different locations, you know
- 35:59what I mean? No, because you can do movies
- 36:03with like few locations, like one of your favorite types of
- 36:06movies or single location movies.
- 36:08Absolutely you don't have to have like things go all over the
- 36:11place. But like, I don't know, I just I
- 36:14didn't I didn't buy that this was like a place I I definitely
- 36:17like I didn't get immersion from it.
- 36:22OK. So I guess that's pretty much of
- 36:25a bad, OK. Yeah, yeah, my bad.
- 36:28Is I? I do think there's like a little
- 36:30bit of whiplash tonally from time to time.
- 36:34Also, I wanted more of the siblings, the Largo children.
- 36:39Oh God that's another thing. Why are they bringing in these
- 36:44people who Can't Sing? Bill Mosley will love the guy.
- 36:46Dude does not sing a fucking word in the song, he just
- 36:49shouts. I just like that he is basically
- 36:53playing his more iconic characters except he's rich
- 36:56instead of being white trash. Yeah, like that.
- 36:59He's a fucking serial killer in this too.
- 37:01Yeah. Luigi Largo is just a rich mash
- 37:06up of Otis Firefly and Chop Top and Chop Top.
- 37:10I I wanted one line from him in this movie that we used to be
- 37:13like my plate, you dog Dick. Which Bill Mosley.
- 37:19Glad to hear you're you're doing better and you're rehabbing.
- 37:22He got hit by a cyclist at a conventions.
- 37:25Hit and run, Yeah person. Ran it, fractured his pelvis and
- 37:29broke some ribs. Oh, is that why I didn't know
- 37:31the extent of his injuries? Yeah, he.
- 37:33Yeah, that makes sense. He.
- 37:35Can't walk on it right now. He's having a lot of fun on his.
- 37:38He always has a lot of fun on his Instagram, but he's, I feel
- 37:41like he's having like painkiller fun on his.
- 37:43Instagram. Oh, shit, That explains a whole
- 37:44lot of things right now. Almost thought about tweeting
- 37:48him, like, asking him, like, hey, taking advantage, like,
- 37:50hey, you're bored right now. Like, what do you think about
- 37:52this weird ass movie where you're just shouting and killing
- 37:54people the entire time? He's like, which one?
- 37:58Yeah. No I I agree, I love him in this
- 38:02movie but no he Can't Sing. No, he's not the only one
- 38:05either. I don't.
- 38:06Well, I couldn't tell with the guy that played Roddy.
- 38:10Like a lot of times it's him just kind of like I'm talking in
- 38:13this voice. But then they will have.
- 38:15A operatic moment. Yeah.
- 38:16And then I'm like, is that him singing or did they bring
- 38:19somebody in for this verse? I don't know.
- 38:22Because it didn't seem right. And then also, I didn't get
- 38:27enough Paris Hilton. I wanted more of her.
- 38:30I like I I really well. We're we've always been team.
- 38:33Yeah, we're Team Paris and it bummed me out.
- 38:37It was House of Wax all over again for me.
- 38:39Reading some stuff online where every single thing said Paris
- 38:42Hilton aside, I'm like, why? Paris Hilton aside, what the
- 38:45fuck did she do to you? Like.
- 38:47She wasn't bad in this movie at all.
- 38:49She actually sounded good too. She could sing.
- 38:51She had a singing career. Yeah.
- 38:54But then again, that's one of those things where it's like Dad
- 38:58bought that, Maybe you know what I mean?
- 38:59That's possible, but I mean, it wasn't like she could hold a
- 39:03tune. You know what?
- 39:04I mean, she did fine. She did a good job in this.
- 39:07Yeah, it would have been nice. So I have more of her moment.
- 39:10I thought she was gonna be the bigger character.
- 39:12Can I go back and add a good that I had in mind and then I
- 39:14forgot when we actually got to talking?
- 39:16About what if I say no? I'm going to do it anyway.
- 39:18OK, go ahead. I like that all of the people in
- 39:22this future don't just look like they're fighting the clock
- 39:29cosmetically. Like we've got different ages
- 39:34represented and people do look their age.
- 39:36And some of me wonders if, like, a lot of their elective
- 39:39surgeries are like internal to keep them alive forever without
- 39:43necessarily worrying about the like, physical aspect, like the
- 39:48shallower aspect of what it means to be young.
- 39:52Cuz like, think about like the DJ at the end, I was like, we
- 39:55got this older lady DJ, what's going on here?
- 39:57And I kind of liked that. And so it got me thinking about
- 40:00that too. Same thing with like bigger
- 40:01people too. Yeah, there was, you know,
- 40:03everything was pretty much. But then again, like, I don't
- 40:05know, we only saw the elite. Yeah.
- 40:08So like we don't really see like the well, we get like a glimpse
- 40:12of like the sub district or whatever.
- 40:15Yeah, but we don't. That's not really a good.
- 40:18Drug market, sub market if you will.
- 40:20Whatever. Yes, as they say.
- 40:22I will say that was my favorite song in the whole thing.
- 40:25When you were singing that, like that's the one that stood out to
- 40:27me the most, but that one felt more like a traditional musical
- 40:30to me. Yeah, Oh no, that was and that
- 40:32was 100% Terence Durrich, Little Theatre nerd that he is.
- 40:36Yeah, he's like, I like that one, I guess.
- 40:38Like tell it to me three times, man.
- 40:40I. Like that shit?
- 40:42Let me hear it. Again, OK, what is your absurd?
- 40:49Oh man. OK, so First off, we got the guy
- 40:54that wrote this movie using a corpse as a battering ram in the
- 40:57very beginning. I thought that that was
- 40:59hilarious. Just so you know, Like hold on,
- 41:01let's get in here. Just like, damn dude, you don't
- 41:04respect the dead. I can tell one of them here was
- 41:09Bill Mosley. Just yelling.
- 41:12He's Bill Mosley. Mosley.
- 41:14Pretty much. And then the third thing was
- 41:17looks like a Saw movie flashback.
- 41:20The whole. Thing the whole thing looks like
- 41:22it's shot and like edited to look in the lighting and
- 41:25everything. It looks exactly like we're
- 41:27watching like when's Tobin going to show up like he wears the
- 41:31backwards cap. You know, like I, we need like
- 41:34it just. I could tell so much that a lot
- 41:38of that team carried over and that this was produced by
- 41:42Twisted Pictures. Yeah, I get straight up says on
- 41:45the cover. Yeah, from the producers of Saw.
- 41:48So yeah, like those are most of my absurds.
- 41:52My absurd is also the grave robber when Shiloh is
- 41:56desperately trying to not be murdered on site for being in a
- 42:00graveyard past dark and he's whisper singing It's my job to
- 42:06steal and rob. I thought about that, too.
- 42:11Yeah. I was like, hey, he's over
- 42:12there. He.
- 42:13Just keeps doing it. What is up with this?
- 42:16He almost, he almost gets her shot.
- 42:19We're not to her father, the repo man.
- 42:23Shiloh's story would be over. I was confused by that though
- 42:27because like so I thought it might have been a dream because
- 42:30of what she says later when she sees him she's like oh you are
- 42:32real. I thought she was just dreaming
- 42:34or. Something No, no, no, no.
- 42:36That's because Nathan Gatekeep, girl boss gaslit her because he
- 42:41was like no no, it's just a dream.
- 42:43Oh, really? It was.
- 42:43A dream, yeah. Oh, right.
- 42:45That's the whole song that we get.
- 42:46Yeah, that's right. OK.
- 42:49We know that she knows how to get to the grave because they
- 42:51were flashbacks of him, like raising her, like going to see
- 42:55her mom. We didn't get the importance of
- 42:58her capturing those bugs. I know whatever the fuck
- 43:01happened to the bugs. Is that like, what do they
- 43:03think? Was that like the the drug
- 43:05source or something? Like, no, I don't know either.
- 43:09It looked like it might because it kind of had the same glow to
- 43:12it. I don't know.
- 43:13I don't fucking know. That was just something that
- 43:15they like put set up right at the very beginning of the film
- 43:18and just did not even touch afterwards.
- 43:21OK, so we just did absurd and I'm realizing that we didn't do
- 43:24ugly. Oh shit, we did.
- 43:27Well, I mean, I think the ugly is pretty obvious in this, where
- 43:31you just kind of take something that somebody needs and, you
- 43:33know, kind of do capitalism with it.
- 43:35Like, hey, let's just sell this shit and make a profit off of it
- 43:39and. Not to mention that
- 43:41monopolization is not good for the free market.
- 43:44No. Which is what happened here with
- 43:46the with the largos. Also Dad I I wrote him in my
- 43:50notes the entire time and that's Doctor Dad and he is just
- 43:55drugging his daughter because he doesn't want to lose her.
- 43:57Is that what is happening here? Essentially.
- 44:00Yeah, like. Come on, that's the gist.
- 44:02Come on, shitty. Yeah, and again, we're getting
- 44:06storyline you haven't gotten to, but I'm getting big Giles vibes.
- 44:12Oh really? So he like does something to
- 44:14prevent Buffy from. You'll get there.
- 44:18Yeah. OK.
- 44:18Well, I've kind of I've figured it.
- 44:20Out he is dad, but dads are human.
- 44:24That's a well, that's a shitty human.
- 44:28Not condoning it, and just when you're in a supernatural
- 44:31setting, you're barred for good and bad.
- 44:34His barometer is way off. He's also a repo man.
- 44:36Yeah, and the entire time he's like, hey, I'm not one of them,
- 44:39OK? I'm kind of one of them.
- 44:40I'm killing a bunch of people. And I'm like, you know,
- 44:42intentionally making you. Sick.
- 44:44I'm not one of them. Yeah, I had my fingers crossed
- 44:47and behind my back. OK, yeah, no, I agree with your
- 44:53uglies. So, OK.
- 44:56And I think that's it. So we can rate it.
- 45:00We can rate it now. Yeah, I I enjoyed my time with
- 45:08it. OK.
- 45:09I, I think I'd give it like a 5 1/2.
- 45:15I know a lot of people love this movie too.
- 45:18I'm sorry. I'm not like showering this
- 45:20thing with love, but I'm just trying to be honest.
- 45:22It's a musical and that's not your your bag, and I get that.
- 45:25Yeah, I am giving it a nine because I had a hell of good
- 45:31time with it. Love this thing.
- 45:33We got a little bit of something for everybody.
- 45:35I didn't hate this. Yeah.
- 45:37You know, like, I'm honestly though, like you giving it a 5
- 45:401/2 with it being a musical and especially musical in a style
- 45:43you don't like. I I'm pleased with that.
- 45:46So we have a starting average of 7.25 and that's, that's good.
- 45:50OK, cool. We can live with that.
- 45:51No, I can live with it. Yeah.
- 45:53All right. In the not too distant future.
- 45:56Oh shit. OK go go ahead.
- 45:59I was going to say this is something that was like one of
- 46:02my bad's right here. I forgot to mention I hate how
- 46:06they like dump all this exposition so fucking it's
- 46:10excessive how much I exposition they dump on you.
- 46:13It does just keep going, doesn't?
- 46:14It I just like they don't tell us like they tell us the story,
- 46:17but they don't show us the story like, and by the way, This is
- 46:20why this is important. And it's just like, here's 30
- 46:22seconds of like 50 pages of a comic book that you have to read
- 46:25real quick. And it's just like.
- 46:27Yeah, that it, it goes by really fast.
- 46:30And I think part of the reason it felt fast is because we were
- 46:32trying to take notes. Too.
- 46:33Yeah, well, like whenever. Those came up.
- 46:35Anytime those came up, I like I had to stop, like I had to stop
- 46:38taking notes and just like I have to pay attention here for a
- 46:41second and then maybe jot this shit down after the fact.
- 46:44So, OK, sorry, go ahead. You're fine.
- 46:46So in the not too distant future, a pandemic occurred that
- 46:49caused mass organ failures across planet Earth.
- 46:52There was death, there was chaos.
- 46:54Until Gene Co, they found a cure and they found a way to replace
- 46:59the failing organs. And don't worry if you didn't
- 47:02have the money for this life saving surgery.
- 47:04They do offer financing, but don't you dare fucking default
- 47:08on those payments or the reprimands can't get you.
- 47:11I like at least an hour pandemic in real life.
- 47:13We got them for free. We got our like our cure for
- 47:17free. Yeah, we actually got people
- 47:19really mad about having a cure. Yeah.
- 47:22Exactly. Yeah, tell that story next time,
- 47:25man. So they realized that, you know,
- 47:30once they kept people alive, oh, where's our market going?
- 47:33So now they offer elective surgeries.
- 47:36And don't worry about the pain that comes along with surgery.
- 47:39We've got Zydrate. You might get a little bit
- 47:41addicted, but it's OK because you can get the street market
- 47:43version of it, which comes from the noses of dead people.
- 47:47They're not advertising that though, right?
- 47:49They're not. Yeah, like this like a black
- 47:51market where people are making this shit.
- 47:54Yeah, and if you are worried that this is just a medical
- 47:57company being shady as fuck repoing some organs, don't
- 48:00worry, it's all on the up and up because Congress did approve the
- 48:05repossession of unpaid Oregon. I did notice at the beginning
- 48:09here that it's called to a vote again for them to be able to do
- 48:13so. So like it's on the ballot.
- 48:16So I thought that I was going to be be a part of the story, but
- 48:18like no. So I guess maybe people will
- 48:21like they can change their future in this if they ever did
- 48:23a SQL. Yeah, I wouldn't hate to see
- 48:28what the idea of that might be. Something tells me that they had
- 48:32such a hard time doing this one that I don't know if they'd be
- 48:34able. To get it?
- 48:34No, probably not. Yeah, maybe after cold status.
- 48:38Yeah, yeah. So we have like a repo man song
- 48:42and we witness him doing some of his repo work and it's bloody
- 48:46and gory and tummies are hanging wide open.
- 48:50Yeah, ripping out hearts. Yeah, it's really cool.
- 48:53I like the way that this guy looks.
- 48:54It's so cool. Yeah, it's.
- 48:57I'd love Tony head so much too though.
- 49:00He's a good singer too. He is.
- 49:02I was really impressed with him. He does some things where like I
- 49:06wonder if they instructed him to hit notes so high sometimes.
- 49:09Like he'll sing like in a normal way at first like within his
- 49:13normal range and then he'll like take it up like 5 octaves for a
- 49:17single word. Dude, he's come back down.
- 49:19He's got pipes. He's.
- 49:21Got that range? He's got pipes, guys.
- 49:22Show it off. Yeah.
- 49:24So we catch her dystopian cityscape and we see, like,
- 49:27floating billboards. Love that.
- 49:30Yeah. What year was this?
- 49:31Like a twenty 50s. Yeah, 2057, I think.
- 49:35OK. So there is a billboard
- 49:38advertising the Genetic opera for Max's farewell.
- 49:43So who's blind Mag? Why is she leaving?
- 49:47What is up with her glowing contacts?
- 49:49So many questions, wonder if we'll get them answered.
- 49:52This is very much Futurama like too, because we're kind of
- 49:54flying the city like we're looking at the flying billboards
- 49:57and. Not gonna lie, I kind of thought
- 49:59a lot about the devil's hands or idol playthings with this,
- 50:03because we see the whole story playing out like in real time,
- 50:07and then it ends up on a stage with an actual opera, which is
- 50:10exactly how that episode goes. Maybe they were inspired.
- 50:13Maybe. OK, so we're at Gene Code now,
- 50:19and there's the the dad here, Mr. Roddy, he is not very happy
- 50:25with his children. They're kind of embarrassing
- 50:27him. Luigi.
- 50:29Mr. Bill Mosley, there was, they had like photos of him.
- 50:32Like, what was he even doing? Did he kill a woman?
- 50:34Was that what it was? Yeah, or beat her up or
- 50:37something. Yeah, he's just like flexing
- 50:38over her. So they all have embarrassing PR
- 50:42problems. So we've got Luigi, Bill Mosley,
- 50:46who's just super fucking angry all the time, although I will
- 50:50give it to him in a scene later where he's like, I'm going to
- 50:52kill somebody if I don't get some coffee.
- 50:54And a gin turn is like decaf, Sir.
- 50:56And he punches them because he doesn't want decaf.
- 51:00He doesn't just punch them, he tackles them to the ground and
- 51:03starts shaking their fucking neck.
- 51:05That was really funny. I thought that like, yeah.
- 51:09But yeah, and then we've got Pavi, who's a face stealer.
- 51:13Stills faces. I like the whole thing with
- 51:16Poppy. Like Poppy looked the creepiest
- 51:18to me. Yeah, I like, 'cause that's so
- 51:20clearly a choice when you like, 'cause we see later with Amber
- 51:25that the faces can just, like be transplanted on seamlessly.
- 51:29'Cause that's her thing. She just likes to have like
- 51:31surgery for the hell of it. And she's also maybe addicted to
- 51:33she's. Definitely addicted to Zydrate.
- 51:35She's actually the one who came up with the Zydrate product to
- 51:40begin with. And then she's supposed to be
- 51:42their spokesperson, but she's like, she never shows up to
- 51:45events that she's supposed to be at.
- 51:47So that's, and he's like just gotten a terminal diagnosis.
- 51:52The irony. He can't cure his own disease,
- 51:55so he's got to figure out what he's going to do.
- 51:57But he doesn't want to leave the family company to any of his
- 52:01stupid children. Yeah, this is where we get the
- 52:04grave scene. Yeah, Shiloh, she's over there
- 52:07hunting like a glowy bug. Yeah, she's she's in her mom's
- 52:11crypt and she's like, you know, I think just planning to read or
- 52:15meditate there or whatever. Sees the glowy bug follows it
- 52:18rocks into the grave. Robber Robin Graves, as he do.
- 52:22And then he decides he's gonna shout now that law enforcement
- 52:26is around and use dead people's battering Rams into a a catacomb
- 52:32and he can get all of the street zydrate from that catacomb.
- 52:37And he shouts again, and then ducks and Shiloh gets pulled out
- 52:41and is almost murdered. Feeling this guy like people are
- 52:44like why would he do this in my movie my rules, as I'm using
- 52:47this guy as a battering ram, I'm shouting my rules.
- 52:52Like from the theatricality of it, I love it but I'm like dude,
- 52:55Dick move. Yeah, it really is.
- 52:57Yeah. So Shiloh wakes up in her bed
- 53:01and Dad tells her that it was just a bad dream.
- 53:04Like, calm the fuck down, silly girl.
- 53:06Take your medicine. It's definitely medicine.
- 53:10And she's got like a blood disease, so she can't really be
- 53:14outside for very long. When she is, she's supposed to
- 53:16wear a mask. She's got all these meds that
- 53:18she has to take and she starts singing this song about like how
- 53:22genetics are fucked. She hates her mom and she like
- 53:25resents her mom for passing it to her.
- 53:28Yeah, so but. That's very angsty teenage.
- 53:31Yeah, you know what else she does?
- 53:34She pulls a Laurie Strode and Halloween Resurrection and has a
- 53:38bunch of pills hidden inside of Stuff Doll.
- 53:41Yeah, she hasn't been taking, apparently.
- 53:44So she's, you know, having her teenage moment.
- 53:48And then we've got Nathan, who we hear, we see his whole story
- 53:52play out in comic book form. So 17 years ago, he and Marnie,
- 53:56they were very much in love. They were married.
- 53:58They were going to have a baby. But then she gets sick.
- 54:01And because he's a doctor, he thought he was going to find a
- 54:03way to cure her. Except the cure didn't work.
- 54:05It only made her worse. And then she goes into labor
- 54:08with Shiloh and he can only save one.
- 54:11So he chooses Shiloh. Yeah, body this one and he's
- 54:14like heading into a secret lair. Dude.
- 54:17It's really. Cool.
- 54:18Want. So I have two minds of this
- 54:22because on the one hand, I want a secret lair that's hidden by
- 54:26an ornate stone fireplace. Yeah, but on the other hand, is
- 54:30that fireplace even functional? Yeah, I was just gonna say like,
- 54:32I just want a fireplace. That's all I need.
- 54:35But yeah, he like, he's like got a secret lair.
- 54:38He goes back there, he's collected this dude for whatever
- 54:42reason, I don't know why he brought him back to his own
- 54:43personal house. So I guess like an extra fuck
- 54:45you maybe. I well, I like to imagine that
- 54:48in this future, pandemic also led to a revitalization of work
- 54:53from home and hybrid work situations.
- 54:55So I suppose, you know, he just brought his work home with him
- 54:58today. At first I thought he was.
- 54:59Flexible with his daughter's illness.
- 55:01Well, I thought he was using the guy as a way to test cures for
- 55:05it, but we know later on that that's totally not going to be
- 55:07the case. Man, Can you imagine that
- 55:09getting your organs repossessed on like a bad day for him and he
- 55:13just wants to take it out on somebody?
- 55:15As opposed to a day where like, maybe he's in a hurry and he
- 55:17just slashes you real quick. Yeah, like he does that a few
- 55:19times in this movie where he's like, OK, let me just break your
- 55:21neck. Yeah, like we're just going to
- 55:23OK done. But then this guy, it's like,
- 55:25oh, we're going to strap you down.
- 55:27I don't have hydrate. I've got all the time in the
- 55:30world. Buckle up, buckaroo.
- 55:32Very John Cramer. So Largo siblings are arguing
- 55:40with each other. Apparently that's what they do.
- 55:42They're arguing over who's going to inherit the company, and they
- 55:46all think that they are the most obvious choice.
- 55:50I made a note here because I thought that this is
- 55:52interesting. They started having their
- 55:54argument and as soon as that happens, Scout and Zoe started
- 55:56fighting. Like Scout straight up tackled
- 55:59Zoe in this moment. Like God, you guys like Luigi
- 56:02and what's the other persons, Pavi Pavi like they were giving
- 56:07me that energy. Yeah, OK, let's real quick.
- 56:10Let's place each of them as one of the Largo siblings.
- 56:14Scout. Scout Talia is angry though, and
- 56:17likes to yell a lot. Yeah.
- 56:20No. OK, here's the thing.
- 56:22I think Talia is Luigi 'cause she likes to yell.
- 56:27Talia's had the most surgeries though.
- 56:29So Heckle people. Here's my reasoning though.
- 56:32OK, Scout would be Amber because Amber never shows up to things
- 56:36and we're always wondering where Scout.
- 56:38Is so she's. Like glazed out and she also
- 56:40likes to get high the most out of all of them.
- 56:43Yeah. And then Zoe is Poppy because
- 56:46she would definitely hunt and steal faces if she could you.
- 56:50Know what? You're right.
- 56:51Yep. OK, so.
- 56:54Shiloh gets a message. Yeah, Roddy to.
- 56:58To meet at her mom's tomb. Yeah.
- 57:01So this is where we get a flashback.
- 57:03Marnie apparently used to be with Roddy until she met Nathan
- 57:06and then left Roddy for Nathan. As a revenge, he poisoned
- 57:11Nathan's cure, which is what ended up killing her.
- 57:15So all this time, Nathan thought he did something wrong.
- 57:19And really, it was Roddy was getting his revenge.
- 57:21He murdered her. He's not leaving his kids
- 57:25anything. He wants to leave it to Shiloh,
- 57:28maybe if she can prove herself. But he says more than anything,
- 57:31he wants to go out with a bang. So he grabs Shiloh, puts her
- 57:35into his limo and then invites her to an event.
- 57:39And she's like, I'm not even supposed to be here right now.
- 57:42And he's like, I have a cure. And she's like, hmm, yeah.
- 57:47She, he, he wants her to like be the poster child for its success
- 57:51that way because it's going to be like a brand new item that
- 57:54they're going to market and shit.
- 57:56Yes. And then also, I think he's like
- 57:58trying to think ahead to the future because they're losing
- 58:00Blind Mag. Oh yeah, so he's trying to get
- 58:03her. Needs a new yeah, needs a new
- 58:05representative. So we cut to the repo man
- 58:08singing about it being a thankless job, which I'm sure.
- 58:13Yeah, nobody's gonna be super thrilled about you coming in
- 58:16there and ripping fucking organs out of them.
- 58:20So once a year there's a big Italian Renaissance in like the
- 58:23town square. It looks like a lot of fun.
- 58:25It's very much bread and circuses.
- 58:29You know where we're living? In a hellscape.
- 58:31Let's give the people something fun to look forward to.
- 58:34And I'm not gonna lie, that kind of shit works on me.
- 58:36I'm low on dopamine. Cool, give me a festival.
- 58:39To go to. Give me a fun, OK, yeah.
- 58:44So Pavi has a new face for this, wants to be ready for it, wants
- 58:49to look his best. It's like the exact same face.
- 58:51It really is. But like Pavi never actually
- 58:54like changes faces, it's just like the same addition.
- 58:56I like to imagine it's like changing your gauze, like after
- 58:59an injury or surgery or something.
- 59:01Yeah, he's. Got to change it out every so
- 59:02often and keep his face muscles underneath fresh.
- 59:05Yeah, more sibling fighting, which Roddy breaks up and then
- 59:11he introduces Shiloh and Blind Mag to one another.
- 59:15And there's like a moment, but we don't have much time to think
- 59:17about that because we have to cut to Blind Max's story, which
- 59:23is that 17 years ago she was BFFS with Marnie.
- 59:27And this is when she was dating Roddy.
- 59:31And she was like, hey, some of my super rich doctor boyfriend
- 59:34could probably give you new eyeballs.
- 59:37And Mag was like, yeah, no, actually, that sounds really
- 59:40amazing. I would like to do that.
- 59:41And he was like, cool, can I also make you famous?
- 59:45You know, I'll give you this in exchange for you being our
- 59:47spokesperson. And she was like, yes,
- 59:49absolutely. It sounds amazing.
- 59:51Except the contract was signed and blood and she has to have
- 59:53this job forever. Yeah, I think he also enhanced
- 59:56her singing ability. Basically, it's just like
- 59:58manufacturing a pop star. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:01Which is dark. Industry Plant.
- 1:00:04Basically, yeah. So Shiloh has been placed alone
- 1:00:08in a tent, and Roddy makes a call to Nathan with a job.
- 1:00:14And while they're on the phone, he and Shiloh both get a
- 1:00:18reminder that she needs to take her meds.
- 1:00:19So he calls Shiloh and he hears, yeah, he's mid repo.
- 1:00:25So she's hearing this guy screaming in the background and
- 1:00:28then he's hearing like the sounds of the Italian
- 1:00:31Renaissance in the background from her call.
- 1:00:33And they both lie about what the sounds are and then they hang
- 1:00:36up. But she is responsible enough
- 1:00:38that she brought her meds with her.
- 1:00:40So she she does take them. So while she's in there, she
- 1:00:45starts panicking a little bit and the grave robber comes in
- 1:00:48and she's like, oh, OK, you are real.
- 1:00:49Which means you probably also did actually try and get me
- 1:00:52killed. You at least owe it to me to
- 1:00:54Take Me Home. And he's like, that's fair
- 1:00:55enough. Come with me.
- 1:00:58This is also where they're about to call.
- 1:01:00They're calling Amber to the stage because you know she's got
- 1:01:04to do her whole thing with that, but she's once again a no show.
- 1:01:07Yep. So yeah, that's he's just, he's
- 1:01:11so frustrated. It makes me think the beginning
- 1:01:15of Christmas inheritance where she doesn't come up to the stage
- 1:01:19because she's. Oh yeah.
- 1:01:21Vaulting over the toilet. Yeah, yeah, dude, if we got a
- 1:01:25like a little side shot of parasol and just like doing some
- 1:01:28fucking gymnastics, you know? I would love it.
- 1:01:31That would be fantastic. Yeah, and they're talking about
- 1:01:34how she's hooked on surgery in St.
- 1:01:36Zydrate. Yeah, so now we get to the
- 1:01:40submarket where St. Zydrate is found.
- 1:01:43Yes, and basically very catchy little number.
- 1:01:48It's very also sad because we see all of these people that are
- 1:01:53addicted and begging Grave Robber for more St.
- 1:01:55Zydrate, and his biggest customer of all is none other
- 1:01:59than Amber Sweet. And we also add in a little bit
- 1:02:04of a detail that she wants to be the next Blind Mag and that
- 1:02:08remember how we said this is Blind Mag's farewell
- 1:02:11performance? Yeah, so if she does that, she
- 1:02:14dies. She's not ever allowed to leave
- 1:02:17the company. And so Shiloh's like, oh shit,
- 1:02:20that's a, that's a problem. So like, was Blind Mag trying to
- 1:02:24leave on her own? Was that what was going?
- 1:02:26On here I think so. Or were they OK?
- 1:02:27I didn't know if they were forcing her out or not.
- 1:02:29Yeah, I think the implication is that she wanted to leave and
- 1:02:32they made it sound like it's OK, but secretly they were planning
- 1:02:35to repo her eyes. Gotcha.
- 1:02:37Right, I think. Amber was going to try and move
- 1:02:39into her place. Yeah.
- 1:02:40OK so Shiloh gets home and Nathan comes out of his dungeon
- 1:02:48layer and he gets a call that he needs to go see Roddy.
- 1:02:52So he goes there, he brings his organs and he's like, I have an
- 1:02:55assignment for you. And he goes normally you just
- 1:02:57send me the information why am I here?
- 1:02:59And he goes because it's a special assignment and his next
- 1:03:02assignment is to repo Blind Max's eyes.
- 1:03:06And he's like, and I understand this is very sensitive to you
- 1:03:10because it's your late wife's best friend.
- 1:03:12And he's like, I'm not doing it. I can't do this one.
- 1:03:16And then they start in with a family guilt trip.
- 1:03:19Yeah, yeah, everybody just like piles on.
- 1:03:22It's like, yeah. He quits.
- 1:03:24Like do you guys only have one repo man?
- 1:03:26Is he the only repo man in this town?
- 1:03:28I think so it seems like it he's been blackmailed into doing this
- 1:03:32position. So basically what happened is he
- 1:03:35didn't know that Roddy poisoned the cure that he had made for
- 1:03:39Marnie. But when Roddy did appear, he
- 1:03:42was the one that convinced him that like, well, there's no hope
- 1:03:45for Marnie. You've got to save Shiloh.
- 1:03:48And as long as you're the repo man will never tell her the
- 1:03:50truth of what happened. So he's been blackmailed this
- 1:03:53whole time and he kills a person to this song and then he's like,
- 1:03:56I'm not doing the the Mac job though, by the way.
- 1:03:59Also do this shit, but I'm not going to do that.
- 1:04:02So Mag arrives to see Shiloh and she's like, I am your God mom.
- 1:04:06And Shiloh's like prove it. And Mag says, well I have bionic
- 1:04:10eyeballs so this is going to be really easy.
- 1:04:12And she does. I dude that is such a cool thing
- 1:04:16to be able to just like oh here, this is exactly what I'm seeing.
- 1:04:20Just going to. Put it out there like that.
- 1:04:21Yes. And that's it's, it's the
- 1:04:26technology that I want, that I know we as a society can.
- 1:04:29Handle it. Yeah, no, that would be so many
- 1:04:31bad things. Yeah, it would be awful.
- 1:04:33So. The song wraps up and the camera
- 1:04:36pans behind Mag. And that is where Doctor Dad is,
- 1:04:40right? Now, Doctor Dad.
- 1:04:42He's right there. He's doctor dad mad sad.
- 1:04:46Yep, because he's he's concerned why Mag is actually in how she
- 1:04:50got inside the house in the first place.
- 1:04:52Yeah, so Shiloh Skidder is away. And Mag is like, hey, so is that
- 1:04:57Shiloh? The same Shiloh?
- 1:04:58You told me he died with Marnie 17 years ago.
- 1:05:01And he's like, don't feel like that's your business, please
- 1:05:05leave. So she does.
- 1:05:06And then Shiloh is like, hey, you need to tell Mag she's not
- 1:05:09safe. And he's like, no, don't worry,
- 1:05:13it's fine because he's like, it's not our business.
- 1:05:15No, nobody's going to reap all her eyes, I promise.
- 1:05:17She's like, no, but you don't understand.
- 1:05:19Say she has to say Italia, like every time She's like barking at
- 1:05:22something else going on across the street.
- 1:05:24I'm like, not your problem, Don't worry about it.
- 1:05:26Yeah. So she's like, please help me
- 1:05:29stop the rape. I'm in.
- 1:05:30And he's like, no. And then they argue about
- 1:05:34whether it's better or worse to be 17 or 14.
- 1:05:37Yeah, she has like, this whole rock, dude, It's so funny.
- 1:05:42I like this for like a musical thing, but like the whole thing
- 1:05:46turns into a stage and we get the fucking bouncer having just
- 1:05:49like keep people from coming inside the house because she's
- 1:05:52putting on such a fucking awesome show.
- 1:05:54OK so a lot of people hate this scene and I kind of love it
- 1:05:57because it feels so perfect for a 17 year old girl to have this,
- 1:06:01especially one that's not really been allowed to leave her house
- 1:06:04or socialize. It's so it makes so much sense
- 1:06:06for her to have this kind of a fantasy.
- 1:06:09She spent her entire life just watching Mag from the window,
- 1:06:11doing her, like, performances. She's imagining a rock star
- 1:06:14life. And she's also in the midst of
- 1:06:16arguing with her dad. So yeah, she's having a little
- 1:06:18Daydream. And because it's a musical,
- 1:06:19we're going to have like a Little Rock interlude with it.
- 1:06:22I love it. Yeah, I could see like, it's
- 1:06:28just funny. We got to Amber.
- 1:06:31She is a yelling at Roddy. She needs a new face.
- 1:06:34She needs a new face now. And he's like, you really need
- 1:06:36to stop getting new faces. And then she's like, but look at
- 1:06:39me and her face is kind of fucked up.
- 1:06:41Yeah, she's like named. This is how she describes.
- 1:06:44It and he starts cagging and he's like, I'll set you up with
- 1:06:47my besties immediately. Whoa, yeah.
- 1:06:51Poor and poor parents. She just always gets to the shit
- 1:06:53end of the stick in these movies.
- 1:06:55She really does. So he pulls out his last little
- 1:06:59and testament and you can see that he's changing it to leave
- 1:07:03it all to Shiloh but he hasn't signed it yet.
- 1:07:05So he calls Shiloh and Nathan sees this phone call happening
- 1:07:09and he tries to stop her and she asks why she had a godmother and
- 1:07:14he never told her. And he once again is
- 1:07:16gaslighting. He's like it's not real, it's
- 1:07:19not what you think it is. So she ends up sneaking out and
- 1:07:24Nathan is downstairs and he's having to fight some.
- 1:07:26Gin turns. So everybody else is prepping
- 1:07:29for the opera? Gin turns.
- 1:07:31So like are those like the assistants basically OK?
- 1:07:35Yeah. So Amber, I didn't write enough
- 1:07:41note for that. I just wrote Amber has the grave
- 1:07:43robber as she like brought him in to keep him on retainer
- 1:07:46maybe. I don't know what's happening, I
- 1:07:49guess maybe like just to get some in the street stuff.
- 1:07:52I don't know. Maybe it's just like the the
- 1:07:54guy, I can't remember his name. It's just like, I don't want him
- 1:07:56to be in this scene too. My movie, my rules.
- 1:07:57I mean, maybe I'll win a hang out with Paris, whatever.
- 1:08:01Can you blame him? So we're at the Genetic Opera.
- 1:08:05We've got this older lady DJ ING and it's just cracks me up
- 1:08:09because he's got like the she's got like the old lady trying to
- 1:08:12like be cool and young haircut and like she's wearing, you
- 1:08:16know, your nice red shirt that you save for Sunday brunch and
- 1:08:23like. Chicka.
- 1:08:23Chicka chicka, it's fun. Do you think these people shunt?
- 1:08:28Oh, she could shunt. I think she would shunt.
- 1:08:30This is society here. We're like, these are the top
- 1:08:33tier people here that. Can, yeah.
- 1:08:34These are the people that are never worried about organ
- 1:08:36repossession. They're like, there's they're
- 1:08:38singing the song about how like they just had all this shit done
- 1:08:41because they can. Yeah, yeah, hey, like I, I can
- 1:08:44afford to like this shit because I I got money.
- 1:08:47This whole scene is so funny too because it feels very much like
- 1:08:50we're audio trying to be like hip and cool and they're doing
- 1:08:52kind of like a hip hop feel to it and they get on stage and
- 1:08:55they're all like awkwardly raising.
- 1:08:57Yeah, yeah, it was a little bit weird.
- 1:09:00Oh, and then there are some Gen. turns on stage that are like
- 1:09:03humping each other. Just.
- 1:09:05Humping each other? Yeah, like it's meant to be sexy
- 1:09:07and sexual. So Shiloh is sequestered in a
- 1:09:11room and she gets a video saying that to get her cure and get
- 1:09:17everything Jane Co has to offer her, she needs to help catch the
- 1:09:21Reba man. She's going to be used as the
- 1:09:22bait. Amber's face keeps falling off
- 1:09:26as she's opening up her mind nag.
- 1:09:28It's so upsetting. I love that though, that was so
- 1:09:31cool. She just goes out there like it
- 1:09:33was such a rush. It's just like the whole time.
- 1:09:35Yeah, just like, God, they did a good job with that.
- 1:09:37Like when she's out there, like the face pill from her forehead
- 1:09:39and she's like oh so good, so real.
- 1:09:42And her face ends up falling off the whole way and she like tries
- 1:09:45to mash it back on. She just like leaves in
- 1:09:48disgrace. She just walks in the one time
- 1:09:50she shows up and this happens. Yeah, she's like, This is why I
- 1:09:53never show up. So Mag performs and she does
- 1:10:00this whole beautiful operatic piece and.
- 1:10:02It's like it's in another language and we don't get
- 1:10:05subtitles for it. So I'm curious to know what she
- 1:10:08was singing about here. Yeah, I looked up the lyrics,
- 1:10:11but I didn't retain any of the information it had.
- 1:10:15Did they like? Was it in English?
- 1:10:17It it gave the English translation.
- 1:10:19I don't remember what it said though.
- 1:10:21Do you know, I remember like any like just that overall, OK, I
- 1:10:25feel like it's got to be like all building up to like and I'm
- 1:10:27about to die. Yeah, and she knows.
- 1:10:29She knows what's going to happen.
- 1:10:30And she was like, I want to do this on my own terms, even if it
- 1:10:34means I'll be blind. And then she stabs out her own
- 1:10:37fucking eyeballs. With her fingernails, Yes.
- 1:10:41Oh God, yeah. She's got the special, like,
- 1:10:43fingernail jewelry on, so they're like daggers basically.
- 1:10:46And she pokes her own eyes out and Roddy drops, no, he drops
- 1:10:51her 'cause she's like harnessed up for the big finale.
- 1:10:54And he drops her and she falls onto a fence post that's way too
- 1:10:58pointy to be a prop on a stage. That's some evil villain shit
- 1:11:02right there, Roddy. He knows.
- 1:11:04I mean, that was his whole plan right there.
- 1:11:06So yeah, like, I guess like the people at the opera sign up for
- 1:11:11this shit because they're like, he comes up on stage and he's
- 1:11:14like, that's not all folks. We're about to kill somebody
- 1:11:18else potentially. So just stay seated.
- 1:11:20Nobody's in shock and awe. Everybody's like, oh cool, that
- 1:11:22was a great performance. So Shiloh has trapped the repo
- 1:11:26man and she learns that that's Doctor Dad.
- 1:11:29They have out a little bit and then they sing Let the monster
- 1:11:32Rise. So Luigi slashes at Nathan while
- 1:11:38they're on stage. Roddy tells off his kids, says
- 1:11:42that he hates them and he's never giving them anything.
- 1:11:44And then he reveals to Shiloh that Nathan poisoned all of her
- 1:11:48meds. And just then her metal arm goes
- 1:11:50off and she can't breathe. And we kind of black out.
- 1:11:53And she has these slashes of like, her life, growing up,
- 1:11:57being at the crypt to see her mom, all of these various
- 1:12:01moments. And then she wakes up to Roddy
- 1:12:03encouraging her to kill Nathan so that way she could get
- 1:12:07ownership of Jean Co. And she says no.
- 1:12:10And Nathan says, but 'cause I think he wants to make sure that
- 1:12:15she'll live. He's like, you need to do this.
- 1:12:18It is true. I did poison you.
- 1:12:20And then the lights go out and Roddy shoots at Nathan, kills
- 1:12:24him, Shiloh runs to him, and they have like a moment as he's
- 1:12:28dying. Meanwhile, the Largo kids run to
- 1:12:31Roddy and he denies all of them and he dies.
- 1:12:35So it's like this very like, I like seeing these two moments
- 1:12:38like up against each other because Shiloh's there with her
- 1:12:42dad and she's mourning his loss, whereas the Largo kids are like
- 1:12:46fucking furious, don't actually care about Roddy at all.
- 1:12:48He doesn't really care about them and.
- 1:12:50Yeah, they're like they're singing about, they were singing
- 1:12:53before about how they like, you know, like they're sad that
- 1:12:56their dad's dying, but like, you know, the entire time.
- 1:12:58But like, whatever. Like, all right, now it's my
- 1:13:00turn. Yeah.
- 1:13:02So Shiloh and Nathan say their goodbyes and she walks off and
- 1:13:06out into a limo. She, yeah, she's singing the
- 1:13:08song like, free OS. So like, she's like, happy that
- 1:13:10her dad's dead now. Like, I get.
- 1:13:13Which makes sense considering all things revealed here.
- 1:13:16Yeah. He's a repo man and also he was
- 1:13:19drugging you and making you sick.
- 1:13:20So yeah, I. I wonder if they have therapy in
- 1:13:24this future. She's gonna go live with the
- 1:13:27grave keeper. Or whatever.
- 1:13:29The next day we do have the Grave Robber who is singing an
- 1:13:33epilogue, which really isn't much.
- 1:13:35Like with the same song? Again.
- 1:13:37Yeah. See, the guy, that guy, his
- 1:13:42character just kind of felt like it didn't really need to be in
- 1:13:46the movie. Kind of a narrator of sorts.
- 1:13:49In a way, like, I mean basically like in the build up to the
- 1:13:51prom, he's like, oh, let's see how this shit unfolds.
- 1:13:54You know, like I. Like his character, just like
- 1:13:56when he pops up and sings. He had the Best Song in the
- 1:13:58movie so I'll give him that. Like that was good at least.
- 1:14:01And then in the credits, we learned that Amber ended up
- 1:14:05auctioning off her face to. She was also the one that take
- 1:14:11over, right? She became the one to take over
- 1:14:13the company. Yeah, and so she was auctioning
- 1:14:14off her face and Luigi murdered the top three bitters and then
- 1:14:19Pavi ended up winning the the face.
- 1:14:23Man, that's all fitting for all three of them there.
- 1:14:25Yeah, that's how it ends. That's how it ends.
- 1:14:29It's a weird little movie. It is a weird little movie, and
- 1:14:33now that we've talked about it, what do you think?
- 1:14:41I'll bump it to six for style cuz I, I do appreciate the style
- 1:14:45of it. I think like, visually it's a
- 1:14:47very cool movie to watch, but I stand by the rest of the other
- 1:14:52things that, you know, held it down for me.
- 1:14:55OK, I'm gonna keep mine at a nine.
- 1:14:57OK, so our new average is 7.5. What is something that you would
- 1:15:01change that would bump it up even more for you?
- 1:15:06I guess like, I'm not gonna touch the songs because that's
- 1:15:10the thing that they wanted to write, so that's fine, you know?
- 1:15:16But I just kinda, I felt like so much of what we see and then so
- 1:15:23much of what we're told, like we don't get to actually see much
- 1:15:26story unfold. We are just told so much of it.
- 1:15:30Like usually with like I'm not when you have the chance to do
- 1:15:34this as a movie, like you make the musical a movie and I feel
- 1:15:39like with that you get more. And I just don't know if this is
- 1:15:43the type. Like I've not watched a lot of
- 1:15:45musicals, but like you have more acting scenes to to be able to
- 1:15:51do that. Like you give the songs like
- 1:15:53Time to Breathe, but in this movie we never really do that.
- 1:15:57We go, we launch into one song after another, just constantly.
- 1:16:00So that's more of an operatic style like operas are all
- 1:16:05singing basically so. And this is an opera.
- 1:16:07OK. Yeah.
- 1:16:08Well, this might be my very first opera.
- 1:16:11I may have watched one back in high school in my humanities
- 1:16:14class. But like, yeah, I, I, you know,
- 1:16:17I mean, I guess for me, that's just, I don't know.
- 1:16:19I guess I will criticize the singing then just like, just
- 1:16:23give me like, give me some time to breathe.
- 1:16:25And like, also tell me more of the story instead of like, and
- 1:16:29by the way, this is something that happened.
- 1:16:31So you should just be aware of what this is.
- 1:16:33Right here. Yeah, like, OK, FYI, like make
- 1:16:36it like the fucking movie, you know, like even if you don't
- 1:16:40want to like do like, you know, the comic strips were cool.
- 1:16:44If you don't want to do that, fucking animate it.
- 1:16:46And I do agree that I think you're missing out with the
- 1:16:49musical format cause a lot of times that's where you throw in
- 1:16:52your fucking exposition and that's where you throw in your
- 1:16:55great character growth moments. Usually that stuff is through
- 1:16:58song. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:16:59And we just don't get that in this.
- 1:17:01It's just a lot of them singing about like, shit here and now.
- 1:17:05And yeah, OK. You know who had a good time
- 1:17:09with this movie? Everybody in the house.
- 1:17:13Talia was so playful throughout most of the movie.
- 1:17:16She did have to go out a few times.
- 1:17:18She was a little. Bit restless, she went out one
- 1:17:20time during a song where Shiloh was singing about wanting to get
- 1:17:24out. Yeah, she kept saying I want to
- 1:17:26go outside. And Talia kind of like, tilted
- 1:17:27her head and Shiloh said it again.
- 1:17:29And Talia was like, you know what?
- 1:17:31Yeah, yeah. You know.
- 1:17:31I did too. She went over to the Chuck
- 1:17:34button and hit it. I was like, all right, I guess
- 1:17:36we'll pause. Yeah, she also kept bringing us
- 1:17:39toys. And she was.
- 1:17:42Cats were playing. Yeah, so I think Talia, I think
- 1:17:46she's gonna give this an 8. I would say maybe a nine, but
- 1:17:49she didn't go out a lot. That was beyond just the I
- 1:17:52wouldn't go outside zone. Yeah.
- 1:17:54So Zoe, who is Zoe's ultimate warrior?
- 1:18:01It's gotta be. Was it Robbie, Javi Javi.
- 1:18:07There was a few times where almost like some of the people's
- 1:18:09names wrong, like almost almost called him Rito, like a Roddy
- 1:18:15instead of, you know, like Rito. I feel like that right?
- 1:18:19Because like we already like that's.
- 1:18:22No, that's what Largo's child I would assign her to.
- 1:18:26But I think out of all of the people in the movie, I think.
- 1:18:29Bill Mosley. Bill Mosley's a serial killer.
- 1:18:34Repo man. No, I know it.
- 1:18:37I'm sorry. Well, what's yours?
- 1:18:38And I'll tell you mine. Well, I was gonna say, I think
- 1:18:40the repo man, he has to go hunt these people down and then he's
- 1:18:44got a specific way of targeting each of them.
- 1:18:47Sometimes he like plays it out longer than others.
- 1:18:49That's true. So he does do that sometimes.
- 1:18:52She'll torture like a bug sometimes.
- 1:18:55All right, what's your? I think it's Shiloh because
- 1:18:58Shiloh is chasing that bug at the beginning.
- 1:19:00Yeah, like, and that's all we get are the bug.
- 1:19:02But like, that's Zoe. She like goes over there and she
- 1:19:04gets the bugs for us scouts too here lately.
- 1:19:07Yeah, well, Scout, just, like, stares at him, and she waits for
- 1:19:11us to see her staring at him. That's true.
- 1:19:13She's like, look at me doing a thing.
- 1:19:16She'll like give like a tiny tap sometimes and be like, all
- 1:19:18right, no, that's all my, my work here is.
- 1:19:20Done. All right, Take care of this,
- 1:19:22Yeah. OK.
- 1:19:26Who did you relate? To who did I relate to?
- 1:19:34I guess I'm gonna relate to The Grave Robber purely for the fact
- 1:19:43that I haven't stopped singing Zydroid Anatomy for the past 12,
- 1:19:4814 hours. That is true.
- 1:19:50You've been seeing that a whole lot here lately.
- 1:19:55Let's see. I think I'll, I'll relate to
- 1:19:58Luigi, Mr. Bill Mosley, for the fact that I don't like decaf
- 1:20:03coffee either. If you're going to like I want
- 1:20:05coffee. That I need coffee.
- 1:20:07How fucking dare you offer me decaf?
- 1:20:09I'm saying coffee for one. Like coffee tastes good but also
- 1:20:13I'm wanting that caffeine. When people make fun of coffee.
- 1:20:16When non coffee drinkers make fun of coffee drinkers saying
- 1:20:18your hot bean water coffee is not hot bean water decaf coffee,
- 1:20:23yeah it's just hot bean. Water really it's just like,
- 1:20:25let's take that water diet a little bit brown and there we
- 1:20:28go. Hey, I don't know.
- 1:20:31So I don't know if I would stab somebody or punch them in the
- 1:20:34face for offering it, but I would like verbally do so.
- 1:20:40All right, so let's do a dream sequel for this.
- 1:20:45Oh man, a dream sequel. So we, I mean, shallow walks
- 1:20:49away. Yeah.
- 1:20:50So shallow is still very much a part of the story.
- 1:20:52And I guess we could see the dynamic of the Amber running
- 1:20:58Jinko and and. That means that we get more
- 1:21:00Paris Hilton and Bill Mosley. True.
- 1:21:03What if? What if Luigi and Pavi try and
- 1:21:13get Shiloh? They're trying to like form a
- 1:21:16coup to like and like. They're trying to get her by
- 1:21:20saying it's rifle yours because you know dad wanted you to have
- 1:21:23it all along. I want them to be kind of bad at
- 1:21:25it. I want I know we reference
- 1:21:27righteous gemstones a lot here, but I kind of want it to be like
- 1:21:31watching them trying to run the church in this last season.
- 1:21:34And they're not. Good at it.
- 1:21:36All three of them have grown. Yeah.
- 1:21:38That would be great. Yeah.
- 1:21:40Oh, man, that would, you know, that's actually kind of perfect.
- 1:21:42But that, you know, let's do that instead of my cool thing.
- 1:21:45Yeah. OK.
- 1:21:51OK, Yeah, I like it. Yeah.
- 1:21:52I mean, I don't know much more of a story that we could tell
- 1:21:56with that. Yeah, I I don't think you need
- 1:21:59to have too much of A story for something like this.
- 1:22:01Yeah, there's not much of A story, and there's one to begin
- 1:22:03with either. Yeah, So.
- 1:22:04OK, cool. All right, we'll see.
- 1:22:06That. OK, new tagline.
- 1:22:10New tagline, so we got a lot of room to play with on this.
- 1:22:13Yeah, we do. I feel like we've been taking so
- 1:22:18long to do these here lately. I know we we're really thinking
- 1:22:21hard about this stuff now. Anatomically incorrect.
- 1:22:32That almost sounds like the Human Centipede tagline.
- 1:22:35Oh, except now theirs is like 100%.
- 1:22:40There we go. Yeah.
- 1:22:41OK, never mind. Your body will thank you.
- 1:22:50Repo the genetic operator. Your body will thank you.
- 1:22:52I like that. You know, body will thank you.
- 1:22:56I think that's good. We didn't get a single song in
- 1:22:59this movie with an organ like, you know, like the musical,
- 1:23:04like, you know, like the instrument organ.
- 1:23:07I feel like that would have been appropriate, like an Oregon song
- 1:23:09with Organ I. Feel like they played an organ
- 1:23:11at the opera, did they? Yeah.
- 1:23:12OK. Maybe I just don't know what an
- 1:23:14Oregon sounds like. OK, OK, so that's our tagline.
- 1:23:19OK, That means we are time or it's time for us.
- 1:23:23We are time, we are time. It's time for us to do reviews.
- 1:23:25OK, so what'd you pull for? Us this is somebody who watched
- 1:23:30it in 2009, January of 2009, so very shortly after release
- 1:23:34before it hit its cult status. OK, it's a user review on IMDb.
- 1:23:40All right, one out of 10. Worst ending ever.
- 1:23:43OK. I was really liking this movie.
- 1:23:45Sure, Hilton sucked. Quit.
- 1:23:48The music was lame as shit and Joan Jett's cameo was more
- 1:23:50creepy than anything, but still, I felt like this movie could
- 1:23:52totally be my generation's Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- 1:23:55So I finally get to the ending and nothing happens.
- 1:23:59The whole movie was based around this notion that this Largo guy
- 1:24:01was going to give his great big wealthy business to one of his
- 1:24:03three children because apparently you can't divvy up a
- 1:24:05company in three ways in the future.
- 1:24:07But his kids are shitty and he doesn't want to give it to them.
- 1:24:09So he decides to try and give the company to his ex
- 1:24:11girlfriend's kid, but only on the condition that she killed
- 1:24:14her father. But she doesn't because this
- 1:24:15movie is so fucking predictable, or so you think.
- 1:24:18And then in a rapid twist of story, Largo just flats out,
- 1:24:20shoot her dad in front of her. Boom, nobody gets the company
- 1:24:23credits. All this talk about Zydrate and
- 1:24:26weird singing, helpful grave robbers and endless
- 1:24:28possibilities for plot twist, but in the end there is nothing.
- 1:24:30No closure to any storyline or subplot.
- 1:24:33They're not even plot twist, they're just like shit that
- 1:24:35happened. Some cool gore like Two Good
- 1:24:38songs and Joan Jett to see The fucking Fall of Joan Jett are
- 1:24:41the only reasons I can think of to see this movie.
- 1:24:42In other words, don't waste your time.
- 1:24:44OK. And I will say in a lot of ways,
- 1:24:46people do liken this to Rocky Horror Picture Show and they've
- 1:24:49even done some shadow cast of it.
- 1:24:51Do you think that they do that just because it's a horrid
- 1:24:53musical or do you think, like, do you actually feel like this
- 1:24:55is? AI think it's partially because
- 1:24:59it's a horror musical. I think it's because the people
- 1:25:02that really enjoy this are also the same kind of people that
- 1:25:05really enjoy Rocky Horror. So I think it's just.
- 1:25:08I enjoy Rocky Horror, I mean, and that's a musical, but like,
- 1:25:11you know, like I like it or what, but I'm.
- 1:25:14Not saying that because you like Rocky Horror, you must like
- 1:25:16this, I'm just saying that I feel like a lot of people that
- 1:25:19like this probably do also like Rocky Horror.
- 1:25:21Oh yeah, surely. Yeah, yeah, like I get it.
- 1:25:24Like, yeah, there's maybe they do a lot of setup for it to not
- 1:25:29really have like any payoff. Like I mean in like everything
- 1:25:33that they're setting up, it's just kind of like easily undone,
- 1:25:35like, Oh well, you don't want to do it.
- 1:25:37OK, I'll do it. Boom.
- 1:25:38There. Yeah, I really honestly don't
- 1:25:39care about who gets Jinko. Jinko's the bad guy in this.
- 1:25:43Yeah, that was one of the things I was always invested in
- 1:25:46watching this. Maybe this person just didn't
- 1:25:48know who they were supposed to root for.
- 1:25:50You're. Supposed to root for Shiloh.
- 1:25:51She got her freedom. Yeah, that was the whole thing.
- 1:25:54Yeah. I mean, really, Yeah.
- 1:25:56And then you do get like, did they, did you not stick for like
- 1:25:58the five seconds after the movie ended for where they like
- 1:26:01revealed the ending? Yeah.
- 1:26:03'Cause we find out that Amber took the company.
- 1:26:06I don't know, like, there's a lot of just shit happening in
- 1:26:10this movie. Yeah.
- 1:26:11And they were saying there's like plot twists, but like, it's
- 1:26:13really just shit that's not really super relevant.
- 1:26:16That's just kind of building the world that they're they're in.
- 1:26:21It's essentially a. This is more of like a
- 1:26:25submersive movie than anything. Like you're, you're in it just
- 1:26:29to enjoy the aesthetic and the the fun of it and there's a
- 1:26:31little bit of a story with it. Yeah, pretty much, yeah.
- 1:26:34That's yeah. So don't come to this movie if
- 1:26:37you're looking for like a narrative, like a or like a
- 1:26:41intense narrative type of movie. This one's, it's got a very
- 1:26:45loose one. It's just there to kind of give
- 1:26:48excuses for people to sing and kill.
- 1:26:50Yeah, basically. Yeah.
- 1:26:53OK, I got a couple of listener reviews here.
- 1:26:58Yay. See if anything came in while we
- 1:27:01were talking. No.
- 1:27:08OK, so we will start off with Instagram.
- 1:27:14First off, we have Professor Mort who says this film is
- 1:27:18genius. Oh, is that that's it?
- 1:27:20Yeah, that's it. OK.
- 1:27:22I love it. I think there's a lot of
- 1:27:23creativity to it. I wish I I knew more about what
- 1:27:26you liked about it, Sir. Yeah, or ma'am.
- 1:27:28I don't know. Yeah, I mean, I can see why,
- 1:27:32like, a lot of people would appreciate it, you know, Like, I
- 1:27:34mean, I can see this sitting in, like, a lot of people like you,
- 1:27:37you know, in the right way. Next up, we have Cube Saves.
- 1:27:40Who says I didn't realize it was a musical the first time seeing
- 1:27:43it in theaters? You didn't realize while
- 1:27:46watching? Or are you going to be like, I
- 1:27:49hope you? Figured it out pretty quickly.
- 1:27:51Yeah, like found out like, Oh, no, OK, yeah, yeah, Like I, I
- 1:27:58remember seeing the poster for this and I like, I know it has
- 1:28:01like opera and shit in the title.
- 1:28:03So like, I don't know, like that doesn't necessarily mean it's
- 1:28:05going to be a musical for me, but I could see that being like
- 1:28:08a confusing thing. I wonder if that influenced how
- 1:28:12you felt about it. Did it negatively impact it or
- 1:28:15are you happy that it became a? Musical that's part of the word
- 1:28:17opera is confusing though. What do you mean?
- 1:28:20There's nothing confusing about it.
- 1:28:22But you just said that you could see not understanding it was a
- 1:28:25musical, even with the word opera.
- 1:28:27I guess it says like the Genetic Opera, but like it could be a
- 1:28:30movie about that where you don't.
- 1:28:33That doesn't necessarily mean that everything is singing.
- 1:28:35It's like, hey, like Dario Agento's opera, like the movie
- 1:28:38is like a centered around somebody that is like an opera
- 1:28:41singer and like, there's not really any.
- 1:28:44Like we just get scenes of that occasionally.
- 1:28:45That explanation makes sense. Thank you.
- 1:28:47You're welcome. OK, we'll hop on over to
- 1:28:50Twitter. John Fading Arcader says.
- 1:28:55One of my favorite horror movies.
- 1:28:56The music is awesome. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Joe fly over,
- 1:29:01State of Fear says. Covered this a bit ago and it
- 1:29:03was so much fun. Such a pleasant surprise.
- 1:29:05I'm going to have to go listen to that, Joe.
- 1:29:07Yeah, for sure. I didn't know you guys covered
- 1:29:09it too. And this isn't really a review,
- 1:29:12but Ward Zombie just said I'll give it another shot for you
- 1:29:14too. So I don't think that he liked
- 1:29:16it. Yeah, I hope you do give it
- 1:29:19another shot. Sometimes.
- 1:29:21Sometimes seeing things in a different headspace can be.
- 1:29:27But just the expectations, yeah. Like you, you know what you're
- 1:29:29gonna get into. Yeah.
- 1:29:30You know what you're gonna get into.
- 1:29:31Sometimes not, but sometimes yes.
- 1:29:34So. Let us know, Yeah, like if it if
- 1:29:37you changed your mind on this rewatch or you're after hearing
- 1:29:39us talk about it. Yeah.
- 1:29:41Yeah, I'm curious to know. So that was our reviews.
- 1:29:45OK. All right, so that is it for our
- 1:29:47first episode of Pride Month. What is next week's movie
- 1:29:51trailers? I've been going back and forth
- 1:29:53and back and forth even till up until right this very second.
- 1:29:58Yeah, which I'm doing the June schedule later today.
- 1:30:00Yeah, out by the time this comes out so.
- 1:30:03Yeah, yeah, God. OK, let's do knock at the cabin.
- 1:30:11Knock at the cabin. Knock at the cabin.
- 1:30:13Which means that you're also gonna at some point this week of
- 1:30:15two much old. I will have to watch OLD.
- 1:30:18Yeah, that was part of our deal, our blood pact, whenever we were
- 1:30:22originally discussing this movie.
- 1:30:23Well, cuz the problem is Travis said we saw an ad come up there
- 1:30:29and at the same time Travis said he really wants to see it.
- 1:30:31And I said this looks really stupid.
- 1:30:34And I was like, but we still haven't even seen old and Travis
- 1:30:38goes that looks really stupid. And I was like no, I wanna see
- 1:30:41it. Yeah.
- 1:30:41Our agreement was that we could watch.
- 1:30:43We have to watch both of them together basically.
- 1:30:45The duality of Shyamalan, yeah. I mean, nothing truer has ever
- 1:30:50been said. Yeah, like Shyamalan is hit or
- 1:30:53miss. I'm very excited for the movie
- 1:30:54coming out in August though. The one at the concert.
- 1:30:57Yeah, that one does seem kind of interesting.
- 1:30:59I forget what it's called but I wanna see real bad.
- 1:31:01The one at the concert, yeah, I think maybe is what it's called.
- 1:31:04Shut the fuck up, Travis. So right now you can stream it
- 1:31:08on Peacock, but you can also rent it from YouTube, Google
- 1:31:11Play, Fandango at home, or Prime.
- 1:31:13Cool, cool. In a nutshell, according to
- 1:31:16Google AI, it is nail biting, ominous and psychological.
- 1:31:21Thank you, Google. Yeah, we haven't seen it before.
- 1:31:25So it'll be brand new for both of us and.
- 1:31:28We're just doing a lot of that this month, aren't we?
- 1:31:30Yeah. I mean, I just also want, like,
- 1:31:33we haven't talked about Shyamalan.
- 1:31:35Yeah. And we're like over 200 episodes
- 1:31:37in the show now. I feel like he needs to be
- 1:31:39discussed. Yeah, we've definitely
- 1:31:41referenced Shyamalan, but we've never actually talked about him
- 1:31:43so. Yeah.
- 1:31:44So I'm curious and I'm excited for it, so.
- 1:31:47And I know it's based off of a book, so I think from what I've
- 1:31:50heard it's a little bit different from some of his
- 1:31:51normal stuff. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:31:54It's like the cabin at the end of the world.
- 1:31:56Or. Something Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:31:57yeah. So yeah, we'll check that out.
- 1:31:59So if you wanna watch it along with us, you know where to go.
- 1:32:03Yep. So.
- 1:32:03OK. Yeah.
- 1:32:04And as always, we'll put out our call for reviews and all of that
- 1:32:08stuff. And once again, we just want to

- 1:34:18Bye. Bye Zeidrake comes in a little
- 1:34:33glass vial. In a vial.
- 1:34:36God damn it, Travis. Sorry I couldn't remember where.
- 1:34:39You just say a little glass vial.
- 1:34:40A little glass vial. I.
- 1:34:44Do Oh, I thought we were going to keep that.
- 1:34:46OK, maybe that's OK. That's your blooper.
