Former Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody and ex-chief counsel Jason Nassour are suing Travis and Williamson County DAs after being wrongfully charged for allegedly destroying video footage from a reality TV show that captured a fatal police encounter. The indictment, which hung over them for six years, was finally dropped in July — but not before they filed suit claiming federal law barred them from seizing the footage, which belonged to Big Fish Entertainment and showed deputies using force during the arrest of Javier Ambler in 2019.
