- Lucas: Hei, og velkommen til Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. Episode 149. I'm Lucas. Luna: Hei hei! Luna here. And today we're going to talk about something super useful — asking for directions. Lucas: Right. Because if you're in Norway and you need to find a place, knowing how to ask is key. Luna: Exactly. And I love that Fexingo keeps these episodes ad-free. By the way, if you find this podcast helpful, you can support us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. That's what keeps us going. Lucas: Yeah, we really appreciate the listeners who chip in. It makes a big difference. So, today's first phrase: 'hvor er' — 'where is'. Luna: Hvor er. Where is. Lucas: Yes. You can say 'hvor er...' and then a place. For example, 'hvor er stasjonen?' — 'where is the station?' Let's say it together: 'hvor er'. Luna: Hvor er. Lucas: Good. Now, you often start with 'unnskyld' — 'excuse me'. So 'unnskyld, hvor er stasjonen?'. Luna: Unnskyld, hvor er stasjonen? Lucas: Perfect. And after you get the answer, you say 'takk' — 'thanks'. Luna: Takk. Simple enough. Lucas: Now let's learn three direction words. First: 'til venstre' — 'to the left'. Luna: Til venstre. Lucas: Great. 'Til høyre' — 'to the right'. Luna: Til høyre. Lucas: And 'rett frem' — 'straight ahead'. Luna: Rett frem. Lucas: Awesome. So if someone says 'gå til venstre', that means 'go to the left'. Luna: Gå til venstre. Got it. So if I'm at a crossroads and I need to go right, I'd say 'gå til høyre'? Lucas: Exactly. Or if you're asking, you could say 'skal jeg gå til høyre?' — 'should I go to the right?'. Luna: Skal jeg gå til høyre? That's good. Lucas: Let's practice a full conversation. Imagine I'm a stranger on the street. You say 'unnskyld, hvor er biblioteket?'. Luna: Unnskyld, hvor er biblioteket? Lucas: And I say 'gå rett frem, så til venstre'. Luna: Gå rett frem, så til venstre. So straight, then left. Lucas: Yes. And you reply 'takk'. Luna: Takk. Lucas: Perfect. Let's do one more. 'Hvor er hotellet?'. Luna: Hvor er hotellet? Lucas: I answer 'gå til høyre, så rett frem'. Luna: Gå til høyre, så rett frem. Right, then straight. Lucas: Exactly. And you say 'takk skal du ha' — that's a bit more polite, but 'takk' is fine. Luna: Takk skal du ha. Sounds fancy. Lucas: Yeah, you can use it. Now, let's repeat all the key phrases: 'unnskyld', 'hvor er', 'til venstre', 'til høyre', 'rett frem', 'takk'. Luna: Unnskyld, hvor er, til venstre, til høyre, rett frem, takk. Lucas: Excellent. So next time you're in Norway and you need directions, you're ready. Luna: I feel ready. I'll just remember to say 'unnskyld' first. Lucas: That's the key. And don't forget to say 'takk' after. People appreciate it. Luna: Absolutely. Thanks for listening, everyone. Practice these and join us next time. Lucas: Ha det bra, and keep learning with Fexingo.
