- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi everybody. I'm Tamra Judge and I'm Dan Geesling. Welcome
- 0:03Speaker 1: to our new podcast, Talking a Big Game. Hey, guys,
- 0:11Speaker 1: welcome to Talking a Big Game.
- 0:14Speaker 2: We've come a long way Scotland.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I know we have. Last time I saw you, well,
- 0:19Speaker 1: I saw you at the reunion. Yeah, so you guys,
- 0:22Speaker 1: Dan and I are starting a new podcast called Talking
- 0:25Speaker 1: a Big Game. And there's no bigger gamer out there
- 0:28Speaker 1: than Dan Geesling.
- 0:29Speaker 2: You know what, Tamar, this has been such a unique
- 0:32Speaker 2: opportunity when it's like, hey, you can pair us together
- 0:35Speaker 2: because you bring such a unique dynamic to this. I'm
- 0:38Speaker 2: just so excited to be here with you, and I
- 0:40Speaker 2: can't wait to see when we broke, when we approach
- 0:43Speaker 2: these reality TV winners and some of our favorite personalities.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I'm just excited to see you go to work and
- 0:48Speaker 2: do your thing.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Well, we have a guest this week. It's Max from
- 0:52Speaker 1: Danzy with the Stars, who was also on The Traders
- 0:55Speaker 1: with us. So you guys, you want to know how
- 0:57Speaker 1: this happened, let's talk about it.
- 0:59Speaker 2: So like, how does want the iconic Real Housewives of
- 1:02Speaker 2: OC and Winner Big Brother?
- 1:05Speaker 1: How iconic Winner a Big Brother?
- 1:07Speaker 2: How do we end up on this couch together. It's
- 1:09Speaker 2: like kind of a random It is totally random.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I know you guys are thinking, what the hell is
- 1:13Speaker 1: going on? Somebody has a loss of damn mine over
- 1:16Speaker 1: there at iHeart. No, Actually, Dan and I did. He
- 1:19Speaker 1: filled in as a co host when I was recapping Traders,
- 1:22Speaker 1: and our dynamic was so good that iHeart was like, oh,
- 1:26Speaker 1: I see an opportunity here.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Well, I want to rewind it back a step two
- 1:29Speaker 2: because I don't like sometimes I go off like feelings
- 1:32Speaker 2: and just sometimes I get these weird premonitions. And we
- 1:34Speaker 2: spend a lot of time together in Scotland off camera,
- 1:37Speaker 2: and like we talked a lot, but I'm just like,
- 1:39Speaker 2: at some point I just felt like we're going to
- 1:40Speaker 2: do something together. And I really don't often feel that weird.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And then you know, well, Dan and I really hit
- 1:45Speaker 1: it off when we were in Traders. When you do Traders,
- 1:47Speaker 1: there's a lot of downtime. So he would talk about
- 1:50Speaker 1: his wife and his kids, and I would talk about
- 1:52Speaker 1: Eddie and we would just just kind of god to
- 1:54Speaker 1: shoot the ship. And I really thought, like, you know,
- 1:56Speaker 1: Dan's my friend here. However, Dan, let me just tell
- 1:59Speaker 1: you on my way to Scotland. Some of the cast
- 2:02Speaker 1: was leaked and I was getting messages. I was being
- 2:06Speaker 1: hit up on DM saying no this, do not trust
- 2:08Speaker 1: that Dan.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Who would say that, no one, no one really knows
- 2:11Speaker 2: me from your circle.
- 2:12Speaker 1: No, I'm talking just the general public, just just followers
- 2:17Speaker 1: that I had, maybe a couple people in the press.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Watch out for that.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Dan. You'll have to tell me the names. When I'll
- 2:24Speaker 2: tell you, because what I was told was going into this.
- 2:27Speaker 2: My wife's like, if Tamer is there, you have to
- 2:29Speaker 2: be friends with her. And I'm like, I knew who
- 2:30Speaker 2: you were, but when I got to know you during
- 2:32Speaker 2: the downtime, I'm like, you're not really from the OC.
- 2:35Speaker 2: You could be from the Midwest. You just have like
- 2:38Speaker 2: you're not the typical California. You just have like you're
- 2:42Speaker 2: very warm, You're very direct, and I thought I found
- 2:45Speaker 2: that so refreshing in such a unique environment.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 2:50Speaker 2: No, but I mean that like no, like you you
- 2:53Speaker 2: embodied like I felt like we could instantly connect because
- 2:55Speaker 2: I didn't feel like there was any there was no
- 2:57Speaker 2: gray area with you. It's like black and white. I
- 3:00Speaker 2: know where you're coming from and you're speaking your mind.
- 3:02Speaker 1: You might call me a bit, wouldn't.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I wouldn't say that, but I could see maybe some
- 3:06Speaker 2: other people would on other shows.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Well, So Dan and I did Traders, got along great
- 3:12Speaker 1: until the day that I got murdered.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Let's talk about this.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Let's talk about it, Dan, because I don't know that
- 3:17Speaker 1: we fully talked about this.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I tried to reach out to you after the show
- 3:22Speaker 2: and you go, I go, you ghost. I'm like, okay,
- 3:25Speaker 2: I guess Tamraa isn't from the Midwest. What the heck's
- 3:27Speaker 2: going on? And then like maybe a month or two later,
- 3:31Speaker 2: after the show's over, my phone start blew up twice
- 3:33Speaker 2: from a California number. I'm like, I'm not answering this.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I don't know what it was. And you were like
- 3:38Speaker 2: about to go on stage. What happened?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yes, So we were doing a live show, Teddy and
- 3:42Speaker 1: I in San Francisco and the show aired Traders the
- 3:45Speaker 1: episode that I was murdered, and I thought for sure
- 3:50Speaker 1: you were behind it.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Why did you think I did it? Though?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Because come on, Dan, you know why because the night
- 3:54Speaker 1: before you and I were in the kitchen, which they
- 3:57Speaker 1: never showed this, this is lost footage. We were in
- 4:00Speaker 1: the kitchen and I was starting to feel better because
- 4:02Speaker 1: I had been so sick. You were pretty quiet, and
- 4:05Speaker 1: you were kind of getting a little and there's a
- 4:07Speaker 1: lot of suspicion on you because you were quiet. I
- 4:09Speaker 1: was quiet too, So I said, you know what, I
- 4:12Speaker 1: know Dan is a trader. I know it. I'm gonna
- 4:15Speaker 1: go I'm gonna just talk to him and say, you
- 4:17Speaker 1: know what, why don't we team up together? And the
- 4:20Speaker 1: next day I was murdered.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Okay, but let me rewind it. So all that time
- 4:22Speaker 2: we spent together get to know each other, and in
- 4:25Speaker 2: all the downtime, you're like, oh, you never thought, oh,
- 4:27Speaker 2: Dan wouldn't do that to me, because because people.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Were dming me saying that's your that's.
- 4:31Speaker 2: What you do. Well, I guess next time, trust your guy.
- 4:34Speaker 2: You're like, Dan's a nice guy.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Dan's nice.
- 4:36Speaker 2: At one point, at one point, did you know, like, hey, okay,
- 4:40Speaker 2: Dan was trying to reach out to me because he
- 4:43Speaker 2: didn't go after me.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Why didn't you? Did you? Maybe they didn't show up,
- 4:46Speaker 1: but did you say to Faed' like no, let's not
- 4:49Speaker 1: let's not murder Tamra.
- 4:50Speaker 2: At that point, it was like there was chaos, right,
- 4:54Speaker 2: So I'm like I they're going to kill each other,
- 4:57Speaker 2: They're going at each other. I'm like, I was kind
- 4:58Speaker 2: of stunned, to be honest, because the people in our
- 5:01Speaker 2: car were the people I wanted to protect, and I
- 5:02Speaker 2: did a horrible job doing that. You know, you eckon
- 5:05Speaker 2: to and you got yourself in a little bit. But anyways,
- 5:08Speaker 2: so so you found out, so you're watching the show.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Yeah, watching the show, And my assistant was with me
- 5:14Speaker 1: and he's like, oh my god, I just saw it
- 5:16Speaker 1: on social media. It wasn't Dan, it was Phedra. And
- 5:19Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, that pisses me off even more, thank you,
- 5:21Speaker 1: sister housewife. And then I felt bad because I because
- 5:25Speaker 1: you were so nice to me.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Well, and that's the thing, and so for me, I'm
- 5:29Speaker 2: always able to and I think this is gonna be
- 5:31Speaker 2: The interesting part about the show is that we're doing,
- 5:33Speaker 2: is that I'm it's easy to me to separate that
- 5:36Speaker 2: stuff like personal in game, but this is a situation
- 5:39Speaker 2: where the personal kind of was the game. Like I
- 5:41Speaker 2: wasn't going to go after you, but so you were
- 5:43Speaker 2: mad found out I didn't do it, and then you
- 5:45Speaker 2: weren't mad.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I know, I get it for things, really, but like.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That That's all it took. So what if I did
- 5:50Speaker 2: really want to go after you, would you still do?
- 5:52Speaker 1: I mean no, it was a game. It was just
- 5:55Speaker 1: you know what it was is because I really liked you.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I really liked you, and I thought, wow, man, I
- 6:00Speaker 1: really liked him, and I got suckered in. I don't
- 6:02Speaker 1: like that because I have very good instinct and intuition
- 6:06Speaker 1: and I can spot an asshole like like I have
- 6:09Speaker 1: asshole like radar, like watch The show Man where.
- 6:12Speaker 2: It comes from? For you? How can you do that?
- 6:14Speaker 2: I think some people have it and some people don't.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I just have it. My husband's like, you are crazy
- 6:18Speaker 1: like that. We can meet somebody and I'm like, nope,
- 6:20Speaker 1: not a good guy, He's like. And my husband likes everybody.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Oh no, He's like he was so nice. I'm like, nope,
- 6:25Speaker 1: I'm not right with him. Just a feeling feeling. My
- 6:28Speaker 1: grandmother was very intuitive. She knew things were going to
- 6:32Speaker 1: happen before they're going to happen. So I think I
- 6:34Speaker 1: got a little bit of that gene in me.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Got it.
- 6:37Speaker 1: So yeah, I just call it the asshole radar something
- 6:40Speaker 1: like that. But Dan, you are a big gamer.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I love it.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I am not. So I want to learn so much
- 6:48Speaker 1: from you and our guests that we have on because
- 6:50Speaker 1: you know, in reality right now, there's a lot of
- 6:53Speaker 1: new gaming shows coming out.
- 6:55Speaker 2: But here's the thing I pushed back on. For you
- 6:57Speaker 2: to be the longest running oh see how Wife and overarching,
- 7:02Speaker 2: there's some meta game in that, actually the longest I'm on.
- 7:06Speaker 2: So there's a meta game in that. So like you
- 7:09Speaker 2: may not think like that you've been playing a game
- 7:12Speaker 2: since you stepped foot on reality TV.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Well that's what I thought. I really thought going into this.
- 7:17Speaker 1: You know, I got great intuition, you know, and I
- 7:21Speaker 1: got to Scotland, I got in that castle and I
- 7:22Speaker 1: just looked at everybody, go, I don't know what I'm
- 7:25Speaker 1: doing here? How did I get here? And what am
- 7:27Speaker 1: I doing?
- 7:28Speaker 2: But here's the thing. For you to be on your
- 7:31Speaker 2: show as long as you have been, there's gamesmanship to that,
- 7:35Speaker 2: whether there is you, whether you know what you're doing,
- 7:38Speaker 2: which I think you know exactly what you use.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Housewives is a game of chess, yes, for sure, right
- 7:43Speaker 1: you make this move, make this move, I say that,
- 7:46Speaker 1: you say that definitely. But Traders is different. How did
- 7:50Speaker 1: Traders compare to Big Brother?
- 7:52Speaker 2: For you? So for me, it was much much quicker
- 7:56Speaker 2: and like what we were doing in the car, like
- 7:58Speaker 2: I got to know a lot about you, lot about
- 8:00Speaker 2: like family or like that's what I do, so I
- 8:03Speaker 2: will I'll play the play the whole game like that.
- 8:06Speaker 2: So I knew a lot about everyone and big brother
- 8:08Speaker 2: I got. I have all day to do that, and
- 8:10Speaker 2: when I need to, like tug on the right strings,
- 8:13Speaker 2: I do someone like you. I wouldn't have like done
- 8:15Speaker 2: that against because I'm like Tamer's never going to turn
- 8:18Speaker 2: on me. But so you identify those people. But that's
- 8:20Speaker 2: like I established long term relationships and then make the
- 8:25Speaker 2: move when I need to got it.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Now, would you go back.
- 8:27Speaker 2: To I would do Traders for sure? Would you you
- 8:30Speaker 2: have to do it?
- 8:31Speaker 1: I would go back to Traders because I didn't have
- 8:34Speaker 1: the best experience and I really.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Wasn't six I was so sick six hours I was.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I was so sick, and then I ended up in
- 8:39Speaker 1: the hospital when I got home, Like it was a
- 8:41Speaker 1: whole mess.
- 8:42Speaker 2: So let me this from like from your housewife community
- 8:46Speaker 2: when you were done, or I would probably say after
- 8:48Speaker 2: it aired, because it got so much buzz when it aired,
- 8:51Speaker 2: like were people reaching out to you from like Housewives
- 8:54Speaker 2: being like hey, like putting feelers out or what was
- 8:57Speaker 2: what was your like Housewives friends? What was their take
- 9:00Speaker 2: on what you did in the whole?
- 9:02Speaker 1: You know, well, first of all, I couldn't say you
- 9:03Speaker 1: know you when you're murdered. You can't say anything or
- 9:06Speaker 1: do anything for until the show is completely over, so
- 9:10Speaker 1: I couldn't go back to regular life, Like I couldn't
- 9:12Speaker 1: do my podcast. I had to stay off social media
- 9:14Speaker 1: until the show is completely done. And at that point
- 9:18Speaker 1: when the show was completely done, I was in the
- 9:19Speaker 1: hospital for three days.
- 9:22Speaker 2: What happened well, because.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I got so sick in Scotland. They put me on
- 9:26Speaker 1: some kind of antibiotics that was so strong that they
- 9:30Speaker 1: made inflammation in my intestines and I had like a blockage.
- 9:34Speaker 1: So I was feeling so sick and stomach pains and
- 9:37Speaker 1: I went to the hot and he's like, you're going
- 9:38Speaker 1: to the hospital. I go to the hospital and they're like, yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 1: you're being admitted. They're like you're gonna we're gonna put
- 9:42Speaker 1: a tube down your nose, We're gonna suck everything out,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and I'm like.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Ew, That's one of the reason why I knew I
- 9:48Speaker 2: really liked you because I knew you were hurting, but
- 9:50Speaker 2: you still I was and You're like, I'm showing up
- 9:53Speaker 2: because well, Ihaedra.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Did me a favor because it was going to happen
- 9:57Speaker 1: eventually on these antibiotics that were way too strong for me,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and I got to go home. I was home for
- 10:03Speaker 1: a day or so and I was in the hospital.
- 10:04Speaker 1: So I would have ended up in the hospital in Scotland.
- 10:06Speaker 1: That would have been no fun at all. But I
- 10:09Speaker 1: would love to do a retake of it because now
- 10:12Speaker 1: I know how the game works, and I think that
- 10:15Speaker 1: I know I would be well, of course, and I
- 10:18Speaker 1: would have a lot more fun.
- 10:19Speaker 2: But like the missis so when you went, because that's
- 10:21Speaker 2: to me, that's stepping outside like the Housewives bubble, And
- 10:26Speaker 2: in terms of what like a house would normally do,
- 10:28Speaker 2: what was their reaction to, like your friends on the
- 10:31Speaker 2: show and other show, other housewives shows, where they just like,
- 10:34Speaker 2: is there like jealousy because here you're on another show
- 10:36Speaker 2: and it's amazing.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Sure, I mean, we definitely have a few people, like
- 10:40Speaker 1: on my cast that were like whatever, our Tammer gets everything,
- 10:43Speaker 1: she gets the commercials, she gets Ultimate Girl's Trip, and
- 10:46Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, sorry, sucks to be you, but.
- 10:49Speaker 2: That's like the meta game, and I think we're kind
- 10:51Speaker 2: of leading this path. Is like, so you've been on
- 10:53Speaker 2: TV for seventeen is it seventeen.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Fifteen and seventeen years? Yeah?
- 10:58Speaker 2: So like to be that long the mainstay on a showing.
- 11:04Speaker 2: There's games and let's talk about it. They try to
- 11:06Speaker 2: get rid of me once, Well, tell me about that.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Well they fired me.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Why.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I don't exactly know when you when you get fired?
- 11:15Speaker 2: How do you get Does Andy fire you?
- 11:18Speaker 1: No, there's no, that's not like you go into a
- 11:20Speaker 1: room and there's a note on your chair and you
- 11:21Speaker 1: open it up and say you've been fired. It doesn't
- 11:23Speaker 1: work like traders. But I get a phone call. I
- 11:27Speaker 1: was camping at the time, and I didn't get a
- 11:29Speaker 1: lot of cell service, so I would drive up to
- 11:31Speaker 1: the main road every once in a while.
- 11:32Speaker 2: It was Bravo calling.
- 11:33Speaker 1: They were calling production call and said, hey, just want
- 11:37Speaker 1: to let you know that the network has decided to
- 11:39Speaker 1: go in another way, another direction, And I go, what huh?
- 11:43Speaker 2: And just for context, how many years had this been?
- 11:46Speaker 1: Twelve years?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Okay?
- 11:47Speaker 1: And I said, what do you mean? Well, you can
- 11:50Speaker 1: come back and do a certain amount of episodes and
- 11:53Speaker 1: then they will write you off and I'm like, nah,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I'm all or none.
- 11:57Speaker 2: So does that mean like you wouldn't have had like
- 11:59Speaker 2: the or range.
- 12:00Speaker 1: No, I would have just been like it.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Yeah, just why after twelve years they have to give
- 12:05Speaker 2: you a reason?
- 12:05Speaker 1: I think sometimes like they want to switch it up.
- 12:08Speaker 1: They want to change it up. They want to see
- 12:10Speaker 1: if maybe it didn't work without me?
- 12:11Speaker 2: Or can I ask you something?
- 12:13Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 12:13Speaker 2: Two questions, and I think I know that you weren't boring,
- 12:16Speaker 2: Like was did you have a boring storyline?
- 12:18Speaker 1: No? I ended my last season and the bush is crying.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Okay. Second question, they had to be paying a lot
- 12:25Speaker 2: of money for the like yeah, someone like the camera.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe that could have been it. That could have
- 12:32Speaker 1: been it. You never really know. But Andy gave me
- 12:35Speaker 1: a call and he said, listen, you're not going anywhere.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I mark my words. You'll be back.
- 12:40Speaker 2: So like soon after you got that.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So I thought, Okay, I have a year off. I'm
- 12:44Speaker 1: gonna have fun next year. Nope, he didn't call me back,
- 12:49Speaker 1: and then I started, oh my god. Then they gave
- 12:50Speaker 1: me did.
- 12:51Speaker 2: You reach out? Like did you did you? Dm Andy
- 12:54Speaker 2: be like hey, like I'm still here, like the OC
- 12:56Speaker 2: ratings are going down, like I'm over here, I'm over here.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Hey No, And then I got then Andy called me
- 13:02Speaker 1: on my birthday and offered me Ultimate Girls Trip. So
- 13:05Speaker 1: I went on Ultimate Girls Trip and then I got higher.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Ok, yes, Ultimate Girls Trip did really well and it
- 13:12Speaker 1: was season two, just like Traders two that did very well.
- 13:14Speaker 2: But is there a part of you that, like I
- 13:16Speaker 2: would want to know give me the real reason? Because
- 13:19Speaker 2: you take shows doing well, you take me off, show
- 13:21Speaker 2: doesn't do well, you put me back on show does
- 13:23Speaker 2: well again, So what was the reasoning? Did you piss
- 13:25Speaker 2: off like an executive pro kiss people?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Now? I'm very I have very good relationships with everybody
- 13:31Speaker 1: on the network, the production team, all that.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I think I've just been on for a really long time.
- 13:37Speaker 1: They had let Vicky go and they had let Heather go,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and then I'm like, Okay, I guess it's my turn.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Nothing less forever. And I never thought about this as
- 13:46Speaker 1: a career. It's a job, it's a contract. So I'm
- 13:50Speaker 1: back and everything's good.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Let me ask you, so, what do you think without
- 14:02Speaker 2: being self aggrandizing, because you're not like that But what
- 14:06Speaker 2: do you bring to the table that that's like, Okay,
- 14:08Speaker 2: there's housewives that get cycled in and out there. You
- 14:10Speaker 2: see it for season two seats they're gone, but you're
- 14:13Speaker 2: still here. What do you think it gives me here?
- 14:17Speaker 1: I think because I'm open and I'm honest, I don't
- 14:20Speaker 1: play for the viewers. I speak my mind. I say
- 14:23Speaker 1: the things that everybody's thinking. And a lot of people
- 14:27Speaker 1: try to self produce. They don't want to be seen
- 14:29Speaker 1: in a bad light.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Do you mean self produced?
- 14:30Speaker 1: They want to produce themselves in a way that maybe
- 14:35Speaker 1: they're not in normal life. They want everybody to like them,
- 14:38Speaker 1: They want the viewers to like them. And if that
- 14:40Speaker 1: doesn't work, it doesn't work like that. Just be your raw,
- 14:43Speaker 1: normal self and people love that. If you're going to
- 14:46Speaker 1: act or be fake it shows they always say the
- 14:49Speaker 1: cameras don't lie.
- 14:50Speaker 2: When you get some pushback online from something you say,
- 14:53Speaker 2: does that bother you or at this point, like, how
- 14:55Speaker 2: do you handle that?
- 14:57Speaker 1: Sometimes it bothers me. Right now, I've been going through
- 14:59Speaker 1: a little bit of a mind because the show's airing,
- 15:02Speaker 1: Certain girls are doing press, and certain girls are just
- 15:05Speaker 1: out there just blatantly lying about me, and it makes
- 15:08Speaker 1: me want to comment about it. I have, I have commented,
- 15:13Speaker 1: but my turn to do press just happened and I
- 15:17Speaker 1: spoke my mind. So but just a Joe Schmoe from
- 15:21Speaker 1: Idaho that sends me dms like that he hates me,
- 15:24Speaker 1: don't really give a shit.
- 15:25Speaker 2: So and this is where the gamesmanship comes from me, Like,
- 15:27Speaker 2: there's people on your show who are in the press
- 15:30Speaker 2: lying about you. Yeah, and it's clear yeah right, So
- 15:34Speaker 2: like what are they thinking that that's the truth is
- 15:36Speaker 2: not going to come out or you're not going to
- 15:38Speaker 2: be able to like give the receipts.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I give receipts, baby, I always have received They are
- 15:43Speaker 1: not thinking that's why they get called out. That is
- 15:46Speaker 1: why they get called out. Oh my god.
- 15:49Speaker 2: So that's why I feel like, and I think it's
- 15:51Speaker 2: different for you because your your show, your life on
- 15:56Speaker 2: the show is a game, but it's not a game.
- 15:58Speaker 2: It's like it's like this we not unique blend of
- 16:02Speaker 2: like your life and everything's out there, but people are
- 16:06Speaker 2: treating it like a game.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Well, how did you get cast.
- 16:10Speaker 2: In so a long long time ago? So when I
- 16:14Speaker 2: was a kid, I grew up and I saw Survivor.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I'm like, I love this, I want to go on it,
- 16:18Speaker 2: and I'm like, I'm not the outdoorsy type. So then
- 16:20Speaker 2: I saw a big brother and I'm like, Okay, it's
- 16:22Speaker 2: the same thing as Survivor, but just in a house.
- 16:24Speaker 2: So I sent in a VHS tape. You know what
- 16:27Speaker 2: that is. They don't know what VHS tape.
- 16:30Speaker 1: You girls don't know what it is. But it's just like,
- 16:32Speaker 1: what's that?
- 16:33Speaker 2: And you know, it took me four years to get cast.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I made to like semi finals kind of learned the casting.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Were you gaming at that time? Were you a gamer?
- 16:41Speaker 2: No? So, like I grew up with like playing games
- 16:44Speaker 2: as a kid, like sorry, Nintendo. But I just loved
- 16:49Speaker 2: like the fact that you have these adults and they're
- 16:52Speaker 2: taking like our lives are so serious, right, all the
- 16:54Speaker 2: serious stuff's going on, and you have this like ridiculous
- 16:57Speaker 2: game and all these adults are treating it like so important,
- 17:01Speaker 2: and I'm just like, this is so cool and to
- 17:03Speaker 2: be able to play that game would be really special.
- 17:05Speaker 2: And so it took me four years to get cast.
- 17:07Speaker 1: You just write a letter or send a pigeon.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I just kept sending tapes every year, and I'm just like,
- 17:12Speaker 2: there's no, like I'm gonna I'll keep applying until I
- 17:16Speaker 2: get on the show.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Is there any other game you'd want to be a
- 17:21Speaker 1: part of.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I don't think right now. And I think that's where
- 17:24Speaker 2: Traders was so unique, right, Like it was a fresh
- 17:26Speaker 2: game and like we didn't I didn't really know how
- 17:29Speaker 2: to play. You didn't like there wasn't all this strategy
- 17:32Speaker 2: already played out. But one of the shows I thought
- 17:34Speaker 2: was really cool to watch was Squid Games. Did you
- 17:37Speaker 2: ever ever see my husband did?
- 17:39Speaker 1: I couldn't get into it, Like.
- 17:41Speaker 2: They put like four hundred people in this compound. Yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 2: it was just insanity. I'm like, this is really cool
- 17:46Speaker 2: and you see like different groups of people.
- 17:48Speaker 1: I mean, there's so many shows that open the door
- 17:50Speaker 1: for you know, just competition shows.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Across Let me ask you so because I don't know
- 17:54Speaker 2: your origin story because OC was the first one. Yes,
- 17:57Speaker 2: So what was there like a line at the mall
- 17:59Speaker 2: being there was? There was?
- 18:02Speaker 1: It was, but I didn't go to that line of
- 18:03Speaker 1: the mall. It was actually a line at the Balboa
- 18:05Speaker 1: Bay Club, which you actually just saw in the first
- 18:07Speaker 1: two episodes of Orange County this season. That's where the
- 18:11Speaker 1: party was. That's also where I got baptized. So we
- 18:14Speaker 1: have a lot of a lot to do with the
- 18:16Speaker 1: Balboa Bay Club. There my girlfriend who lived next door
- 18:20Speaker 1: to me. Now this was two thousand and six. I
- 18:23Speaker 1: had little little kids and married to Simon, and we
- 18:28Speaker 1: were drinking wine and she was in the house next
- 18:30Speaker 1: to me and do you remember I am AOL semester
- 18:35Speaker 1: semester on your computer name? Oh my god, I can't
- 18:38Speaker 1: even remember. Probably something obnoxious, she said. She sent me
- 18:43Speaker 1: the application and she says, hey, they're doing a casting call,
- 18:48Speaker 1: and I go, what. I don't even know what that
- 18:50Speaker 1: means for the Orange County.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Housewise my commercials and stuff.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Now, well you know what, Dan, thank you for asking,
- 18:55Speaker 1: because when I was eighteen, I did a waterbed commercial.
- 18:58Speaker 1: A waterbed commercial.
- 19:00Speaker 2: That sounds like something that would have played on Watch
- 19:02Speaker 2: What Happens Live? Did that ever? Has that ever leaked?
- 19:05Speaker 1: No, it's never been shown. I don't even know where
- 19:07Speaker 1: it was. It was on a local television station in Glendora, California, Okay,
- 19:11Speaker 1: and I bought a water bed and then they called
- 19:13Speaker 1: me back and said would you mind being in our commercial?
- 19:15Speaker 2: Okay, that's that's your commercial.
- 19:17Speaker 1: That's my extent of tea.
- 19:18Speaker 2: So you weren't like actress? No, so what made you
- 19:21Speaker 2: compelled to like, oh let me do this casting?
- 19:24Speaker 1: Oh maybe in a smart ass. So my girlfriend sends
- 19:27Speaker 1: me over the application for housewives. She goes they're doing
- 19:29Speaker 1: a cast and call at Balbo Bay Club. I said, well,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I had just gott into real estate, so I'm doing
- 19:34Speaker 1: an open house and coded cause it that day, so
- 19:35Speaker 1: I will not be there. But there was an online
- 19:38Speaker 1: application and I filled it out very obnoxious, you know,
- 19:43Speaker 1: just said obnoxious things. Didn't send a picture, didn't send
- 19:46Speaker 1: anything in picture, nothing. And I got a phone call
- 19:49Speaker 1: the next day saying, hey, I saw your application. I'd
- 19:52Speaker 1: really like to interview you. And I'm like, what the
- 19:54Speaker 1: b And so I tell my husband at the time,
- 19:56Speaker 1: and I thought for sure because he's very controlling, and
- 19:58Speaker 1: he'd be like, no, we're not doing that, Like sure,
- 20:00Speaker 1: call them up. I'm like okay. So I called him up.
- 20:03Speaker 1: They came to my house. I did an interview. They
- 20:05Speaker 1: gave me a big stack of papers to fill out.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I never filled them out, never thought I had the chance.
- 20:09Speaker 1: They called me back, They're like, did you feel Mom
- 20:11Speaker 1: said no, like, can we come back? We want to
- 20:13Speaker 1: meet your husband, kids. Okay, met the husband and kids.
- 20:16Speaker 2: So this play just like whatever because no one knows
- 20:18Speaker 2: that Housewives.
- 20:20Speaker 1: No Housewives, well no there was. I came in season three.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Oh so there was two.
- 20:24Speaker 1: And they were kind of boring. It was very not
- 20:27Speaker 1: like it is today, but you know, it's what started everything.
- 20:30Speaker 1: And so I ultimately got cast on the show, and
- 20:32Speaker 1: I you know, I'm like, I don't know why you
- 20:34Speaker 1: want me, but here I am. And I really changed
- 20:38Speaker 1: Housewives as it is today. I came in feisty, calling
- 20:42Speaker 1: people out, and before it was a very sleepy show,
- 20:46Speaker 1: like just documenting like oh dinner with the girls, you.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Know, and yeah, I felt like I've seen like the
- 20:51Speaker 2: early episode.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Yeah when the day that I screamed, did you got
- 20:54Speaker 1: a bas leg? Everything changed?
- 20:57Speaker 2: So let me let me ask this. If you never
- 20:59Speaker 2: got that I am or that in some message, how
- 21:02Speaker 2: would your life be different? Like, I'm serious, have you
- 21:04Speaker 2: ever thought to like recollect and be like, let me
- 21:06Speaker 2: go down this alternate world where.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I think about that sometimes? And I really don't know.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I know for sure I would have gotten divorced from
- 21:13Speaker 1: my kid's father. I knew that was going to happen,
- 21:17Speaker 1: but I was in real estate, and real estate was
- 21:20Speaker 1: great back then, so I probably would have just jumped
- 21:22Speaker 1: on that or but I don't know. I always thought
- 21:24Speaker 1: that I was destined to do something in entertainment. You know.
- 21:27Speaker 1: When I was little, I would dream like I always
- 21:29Speaker 1: this is really mean, but I always thought of myself
- 21:32Speaker 1: as Maryland from the Munsters, like the whole families like
- 21:34Speaker 1: look like evil characters, and Marylyn was this pretty blonde girl.
- 21:39Speaker 1: That's sorry family Carolyn, the Munsters. It was like Frankenstein
- 21:44Speaker 1: looking down lady with long like black hair. And then
- 21:48Speaker 1: there was you, and then there was me. And I
- 21:50Speaker 1: always felt like, you know, I always wanted bigger and better.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I always liked nice things. When I would dream, I
- 21:57Speaker 1: dreamed that I was living in a castle, like all
- 21:59Speaker 1: these things so crazy, and I don't know, I thought
- 22:02Speaker 1: that one day this mouth would get me somewhere, get
- 22:05Speaker 1: me or in jail. I wasn't sure one or the other.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And here we are today, but so many, you know,
- 22:11Speaker 1: early reality shows, and I don't even know if they
- 22:14Speaker 1: called them reality shows back then. I mean, I'm trading spaces.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I don't know if you remember that when I used
- 22:19Speaker 1: to love all that house decorating shows and things like that.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I watch like early Survive Like when Survivor I did
- 22:27Speaker 2: it was like super Bowl.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, watch I watched that when it first
- 22:31Speaker 1: came out.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Did you ever think about applying for that? Because I could,
- 22:34Speaker 2: I could see you on that just as like a
- 22:36Speaker 2: complete one eighties.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I think that I was too, Like I was such
- 22:39Speaker 1: a stay at home mom and my kids were so
- 22:41Speaker 1: little and close in age, and I'm like, you know what,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I just I'm happy being at home. And you know,
- 22:46Speaker 1: I was a single mom for a long time with Ryan,
- 22:49Speaker 1: so being able to just stay home and have children,
- 22:52Speaker 1: I was very content.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Did you going on these shows? Did it not change
- 22:56Speaker 2: your personality but like force you to do like night
- 22:59Speaker 2: life stuff when you weren't doing it?
- 23:00Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, for sure. Like when I started the show,
- 23:03Speaker 1: like I I had friends in the neighborhood, but I
- 23:06Speaker 1: did not go on girls trips. I did not go, hey,
- 23:09Speaker 1: you guys want to go to a happy hour? None
- 23:11Speaker 1: of that. I mean to be honest with you, I
- 23:12Speaker 1: don't do it now.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Well that's what was when we met. I'm like, you're like, yeah,
- 23:17Speaker 2: I'm kind of a homebody, Like really.
- 23:18Speaker 1: No, no, I'm not kind of I am a homebody.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I am a homebody. I you know, sometimes I'm like,
- 23:22Speaker 1: get yourself out, you know, go do stuff. My husband
- 23:25Speaker 1: is more wanting to go out to dinner and do things,
- 23:29Speaker 1: and you know, I'm like, I'm good.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Do you view when you have to go, like to
- 23:35Speaker 2: that club to shoot a scene you look at that
- 23:37Speaker 2: as work, like I need to go shoot this or
- 23:40Speaker 2: is it, hey, I'm going to hang out and some
- 23:42Speaker 2: stuff it?
- 23:42Speaker 1: So you know what kind of both it's work depends
- 23:44Speaker 1: on who I have to go film with. But you know,
- 23:47Speaker 1: I have a good gig. I get paid to go
- 23:49Speaker 1: to lunch with people be yourself and be myself, so
- 23:52Speaker 1: it doesn't suck at all. But yeah, where do you
- 23:56Speaker 1: think you want to Is there any shows that you
- 23:59Speaker 1: wanted beyond other than this podcast?
- 24:01Speaker 2: You know? I mean I just think like if there's
- 24:04Speaker 2: a new game that comes out that it has to
- 24:07Speaker 2: be very special. Like to me, I knew The Traders
- 24:10Speaker 2: was going to be special. I knew the cast was
- 24:11Speaker 2: going to be amazing, and it's a new fun game.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I just for me to do another show, it just
- 24:17Speaker 2: can't be the same thing over and over. And this
- 24:19Speaker 2: is like an example of like doing this, Like I
- 24:21Speaker 2: don't want to go do another reality TV podcast. I
- 24:25Speaker 2: just don't want to do that. But like you pair
- 24:27Speaker 2: me with you, I'm like, okay, this is unique diff
- 24:30Speaker 2: you're from.
- 24:30Speaker 1: You got the gamer in the housewife, gamer in the housewife. Now,
- 24:34Speaker 1: how long has it been since you were on Big Brother?
- 24:36Speaker 2: So last time I was on Big Brother was twenty
- 24:38Speaker 2: twelve and so but since then, like probably every year,
- 24:42Speaker 2: every other year, I would get pitched a reality show
- 24:44Speaker 2: where there's amazing race, you know something.
- 24:46Speaker 1: And I'm just like, I just like I tried out
- 24:48Speaker 1: for amazing race.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Good, yeah, me my amazing race and that survivor or
- 24:53Speaker 2: Big Brother.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Well it just kind of fell on our laps and
- 24:56Speaker 1: Teddy and I were going to do it together. So recently, yeah,
- 24:59Speaker 1: this is like two years ago, I think, and we
- 25:02Speaker 1: went through the entire process and they did not pick us.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Really no, was it conflict of interest or I don't know.
- 25:09Speaker 1: We never got a reason why. I probably passed. I
- 25:11Speaker 1: didn't pass a psych evaluation. I'm just kidding.
- 25:15Speaker 2: That would be great TV. Is there has there ever
- 25:18Speaker 2: been a when you do something like that, like because
- 25:21Speaker 2: I know Bravo and Peacock are aligned. Yeah, if you do,
- 25:24Speaker 2: can you do stuff outside of that?
- 25:26Speaker 1: We have to get permission. And I do have Amazing
- 25:29Speaker 1: Race carved out of my contract because I had talked
- 25:32Speaker 1: to them after that and they were interested in having
- 25:35Speaker 1: me and Eddie do the show together.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Cool.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I probably would have felt more comfortable doing it with
- 25:38Speaker 1: Eddie because some of that stuff that you have to
- 25:41Speaker 1: do in a foreign country, like I'd rather have a man,
- 25:43Speaker 1: and Teddy's just not manly enough. I mean, I know
- 25:45Speaker 1: she has that deep voice, but she's just not masculine
- 25:49Speaker 1: enough for me.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Is Andy the Kingsmaker? Is he the one that signs
- 25:52Speaker 2: off me like yep, tam, or you can do this
- 25:53Speaker 2: or no?
- 25:54Speaker 1: Probably really yeah? Probably over at Bravo, they're the ones
- 25:58Speaker 1: that sign off. So we have then we have a
- 26:00Speaker 1: production company, and then.
- 26:02Speaker 2: He's got He's probably an interesting story how he like
- 26:04Speaker 2: worked his way up, like he runs that network.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I know he's a he's a very busy man, not
- 26:09Speaker 1: to mention he's got podcasts and radio shows, but.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Talk about gamesmanship. There's like to work your way up
- 26:14Speaker 2: to the head of a company that isn't like like,
- 26:17Speaker 2: I'm sure he likes you know that he was on.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Got Sex in the City. He was he was on
- 26:24Speaker 1: Sex in the City. Yeah, it was like that's to
- 26:27Speaker 1: this day him and Sarah Jessica Park are really good friends.
- 26:29Speaker 2: But was that before he was like Andy Cohen.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Yes, he was like very very young. He had this
- 26:34Speaker 1: big head of curly hair and he was I can't
- 26:37Speaker 1: remember what he did because.
- 26:40Speaker 2: First time I saw m he hosted this it was
- 26:42Speaker 2: just I mean it was called Battle of the Network
- 26:45Speaker 2: Stars and they brought these reality TV personalities together for
- 26:49Speaker 2: this competition show and it was like super low budget.
- 26:52Speaker 2: But I think he hosted it. And that was like
- 26:54Speaker 2: right around the time when Bravo turned from like you know,
- 26:56Speaker 2: like Bravo was boring before. Yeah, and then it was
- 26:59Speaker 2: like he'd.
- 27:00Speaker 1: When they had just career ire for the straight Guy
- 27:02Speaker 1: or something like that. Very yeah, yeah, Tabitha's takeover something
- 27:06Speaker 1: like that. Well, there's so many amazing reality competition shows
- 27:10Speaker 1: out there, and we want to talk to every single contestant.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Now Big Brother is airing right now, right, yes, yes,
- 27:17Speaker 1: now are you watching?
- 27:19Speaker 2: So this is probably going to rub some people the
- 27:21Speaker 2: wrong way, but who better to be on a couch
- 27:23Speaker 2: with rubbing people the wrong way? Here's my take on
- 27:26Speaker 2: Big brother Big Brother has become. When I played it,
- 27:29Speaker 2: it was like the nicest person didn't win, Like it
- 27:32Speaker 2: was just whoever played hard. There would be like people.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Crying over didn't you win? But you step in your.
- 27:39Speaker 2: But like so, so that's how it used to be,
- 27:41Speaker 2: and I don't want to be this like, oh it
- 27:42Speaker 2: used to be this way. But now it's like they're
- 27:45Speaker 2: on camera twenty four to seven, so people are hyper
- 27:48Speaker 2: aware of everything they say and they do. So now
- 27:51Speaker 2: it's like they're playing two games. They're playing the social
- 27:53Speaker 2: media game. Yeah, and then so that will impact how
- 27:56Speaker 2: people make moves in the house. So like, well, I
- 27:58Speaker 2: don't want to go after Tammer because I know everyone
- 28:01Speaker 2: on social media is gonna love tamor well guess what
- 28:03Speaker 2: if the right move is to go after you, that's
- 28:05Speaker 2: the right move. And so I've seen like the game
- 28:08Speaker 2: and it's I think it was just inevitable with the
- 28:10Speaker 2: rise of social media. It's like you have people who
- 28:13Speaker 2: go on there to play, like probably like housewives play
- 28:15Speaker 2: to the cameras. They're not there to play the game.
- 28:17Speaker 2: They're not there to be real like people love you.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I like watching you because like now I see it
- 28:23Speaker 2: like you're on TV, that's who you are in real life.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I don't want to see like, you know, robots and
- 28:27Speaker 2: fake people and so so.
- 28:29Speaker 1: You feel like it's just a little bit too fake now.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and I just think it's it's no one's fault
- 28:34Speaker 2: you're not watching. No, I'll watch the finale because to me,
- 28:36Speaker 2: that's always like someone busted their tail for an entire.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Summing and it's no longer. They were doing celebrity. Yeah,
- 28:45Speaker 1: our very own teddy.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Yeah what she say about it? What did she?
- 28:48Speaker 1: She was very sure she got kicked off. She's very opinionated,
- 28:52Speaker 1: and I think that's one of those things where they're like, okay,
- 28:54Speaker 1: get on. Yeah, so she we were kind of bombed.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I was the first time I ever really watched Big Brother.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I had a viewing party, you know, because I couldn't
- 29:00Speaker 1: talk to her. Yeah, they take your phone away.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, you have nothing, no phone Internet. It's like
- 29:04Speaker 2: I mean, it is. I would love to see you
- 29:06Speaker 2: in that environment because the walls come in very quickly.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Like very you're actually on a set, right, you're a
- 29:13Speaker 1: closed set, and do you get to go outside?
- 29:16Speaker 2: There's like an outdoor, but imagine this is it and
- 29:18Speaker 2: they're like the ceilings cut out.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Oh my god, I was. I just did pressed the
- 29:22Speaker 1: other day and I don't remember what studio is at,
- 29:24Speaker 1: but it was where they were filming Big Brother, and
- 29:27Speaker 1: they were saying that they have to put higher screens
- 29:31Speaker 1: around the outside area. That's right. They had to put
- 29:35Speaker 1: these big, dark screens because there was a housing department
- 29:38Speaker 1: on the either side, and they would scream down and
- 29:40Speaker 1: give it away.
- 29:41Speaker 2: People are not Yeah, people are us. People fly like
- 29:43Speaker 2: planes over they'll like rent a plane or pay for
- 29:45Speaker 2: a plane with a message, and holy hell. The thing
- 29:49Speaker 2: I always loved about Big Brother is there was always
- 29:52Speaker 2: a wide diversity of house guests from age everything. And
- 29:55Speaker 2: I feel like the past couple of years and I
- 29:57Speaker 2: think this year, like they put an older woman on there,
- 30:00Speaker 2: which I think makes it more fun.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Older like my age, you're young, you're in your form,
- 30:05Speaker 1: but like no I'm not.
- 30:07Speaker 2: But like it got to like, okay, here's twenties, the thirties,
- 30:10Speaker 2: but the hits makers the entertainers were like the crazy
- 30:14Speaker 2: like sixty year old lady, the seventy eight year old
- 30:17Speaker 2: dude losing his mind. I mean, so it's just it
- 30:20Speaker 2: kind of got away from that so we'll see. I mean,
- 30:23Speaker 2: it's I think the show is so dependent on the cast,
- 30:26Speaker 2: and I think if you can get a cast in
- 30:27Speaker 2: there that doesn't care about social media, that's when it's
- 30:30Speaker 2: great television.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Is there any newer competition shows that you're watching, Like
- 30:34Speaker 1: there's like a House of Villains.
- 30:37Speaker 2: I watched the one that really grabbed me outside of
- 30:40Speaker 2: Traders with Squid Games, because it's just something new. It's like,
- 30:43Speaker 2: I love the show. So there's a fiction show about
- 30:46Speaker 2: these people fighting for their lives and the winner got
- 30:48Speaker 2: four million dollars and then they recreated that almost like
- 30:51Speaker 2: scene for scene.
- 30:53Speaker 1: But four million dollars is worth fighting for, I know.
- 30:55Speaker 2: But like, but you got to think, like a typical show,
- 30:57Speaker 2: you see like fifteen twenty people competing. They had like
- 31:00Speaker 2: hundreds of people on a show, and I'm like, this
- 31:04Speaker 2: is new, this is cool that there's this competition where
- 31:07Speaker 2: there's this glass bridge and like one step, one block,
- 31:12Speaker 2: like shatters you fall thirty feet the next magic of television.
- 31:17Speaker 2: But so you see these people like Tammer, you go
- 31:20Speaker 2: first know you and it's like that's what I want
- 31:22Speaker 2: to see. I want to see people in these like
- 31:24Speaker 2: tough environments having to make game decisions. And I think
- 31:27Speaker 2: a lot of these games, like even Big Brother and Survivor,
- 31:30Speaker 2: it's been on for so long so people know exactly
- 31:33Speaker 2: what to expect. We're like something like Traders, We're kind
- 31:36Speaker 2: of like figuring it out now. I would expect the
- 31:38Speaker 2: next season of Traders, people are going to know, Okay,
- 31:41Speaker 2: here's how Dan messed up. Let me not do that.
- 31:44Speaker 2: There's a lot of things. No, we had, you know,
- 31:48Speaker 2: Suri and like the Civilians in the first season, like
- 31:52Speaker 2: they didn't know what they were doing. You know. No.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I like it that it's all celebrity people that's on it.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Which can we randomly talk about? You and Deontay are
- 32:00Speaker 2: from the same hometown? I know?
- 32:02Speaker 1: Is that crazy? Who knew that Deontay lives in Glendora, California,
- 32:06Speaker 1: where I grew up. I was like when I met
- 32:08Speaker 1: him for the first time, I'm like, oh, where are
- 32:09Speaker 1: you from? He's like Glendor. I'm like, no, you're not.
- 32:13Speaker 2: You're so bizarre because I was there. I'm like, what,
- 32:15Speaker 2: let's talk.
- 32:16Speaker 1: About Johnny Bananas?
- 32:18Speaker 2: He does he not like you? Well, I'm okay, I'm cool,
- 32:21Speaker 2: but I'm gonna tell you this. This is what I heard,
- 32:23Speaker 2: so here's like tea for everyone, and I'm sure that's tea.
- 32:26Speaker 2: But I heard he was supposed to be in season three,
- 32:29Speaker 2: and you you know that I did to the little
- 32:31Speaker 2: like you know him as much as I know me,
- 32:32Speaker 2: maybe no more. This dude lives for reality TV, like
- 32:35Speaker 2: this is his life.
- 32:35Speaker 1: And his career. He's a career reality TV competition.
- 32:39Speaker 2: So then I heard he's not doing it, and I'm like,
- 32:42Speaker 2: I dug a little bit. I asked him, like why
- 32:44Speaker 2: isn't he doing it? And so, I mean, that's just
- 32:47Speaker 2: he didn't expect it. So I reached out to him like, hey,
- 32:49Speaker 2: like are you okay, because for him not to do that,
- 32:52Speaker 2: it's like, hey, you're not breathing oxygen. And he never
- 32:55Speaker 2: spinned him. I was genuinely just wanted to do yeah,
- 32:57Speaker 2: I guess, but I wanted to check out him because
- 32:59Speaker 2: like if someone not doing their favorite things, well, he
- 33:01Speaker 2: just DMed.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Me and said we need to get together soon. So
- 33:05Speaker 1: he lives pretty close to me. Okay, he lives in
- 33:07Speaker 1: Fuller ten, so he lives pretty close.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I mean, I don't take it personal, you know, I like.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I but I feel like somebody like him that is
- 33:14Speaker 1: like a career competitor.
- 33:17Speaker 2: I guess you call him.
- 33:19Speaker 1: He takes things very serious and I don't remember what
- 33:22Speaker 1: your guys beef was.
- 33:23Speaker 2: No, he was just mad that I voted him out
- 33:25Speaker 2: or that I took him out first. That was it.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I didn't like slander him, But.
- 33:30Speaker 1: I think if he went back to Traders, I think
- 33:32Speaker 1: it would happen again, probably because people would be afraid
- 33:36Speaker 1: of him because he's so good at what he does.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing, if someone spends their whole life
- 33:40Speaker 2: doing the same thing over and over again, Like, why
- 33:42Speaker 2: do I want to go up against someone? Why do
- 33:44Speaker 2: you want to go against someone who's been doing this
- 33:45Speaker 2: for fifteen years in a row.
- 33:47Speaker 1: EMCT he made it all the way to the end.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I'm surprised somebody didn't get rid of him. I didn't
- 33:52Speaker 1: know you're worried about me, little sick me.
- 33:54Speaker 2: I knew who CT was. I didn't know he was.
- 33:56Speaker 2: He was like considered the babe Ruth of the challenge.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I didn't know that. That was just like a really
- 34:01Speaker 2: dynamic and.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Johnny been working together for years. So no, you're gonna
- 34:06Speaker 1: say that Bananas won't be on our podcast anytimes.
- 34:09Speaker 2: No, I would love to talk. I have no And
- 34:12Speaker 2: that's the thing like to me, like I will play
- 34:14Speaker 2: like if we're playing Monopoly, you're gonna hate me in
- 34:16Speaker 2: the game. I'm gonna do everything I need to. But
- 34:18Speaker 2: when it's over, like, I'm cool. I just want to
- 34:21Speaker 2: talk about like do people other housewives come to you
- 34:25Speaker 2: and be like, Okay, help me, let me ask you
- 34:28Speaker 2: Just has anyone ever and any housewife I could be
- 34:31Speaker 2: on any season come to you and be like, hey,
- 34:33Speaker 2: what do you think? What can I do? Yes?
- 34:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it happens all the time. Usually what happens is
- 34:39Speaker 1: a first season housewife will reach out to me and say,
- 34:41Speaker 1: you know, I really love you. You've been on the
- 34:43Speaker 1: show for a long time. Do you have any advice
- 34:44Speaker 1: for me?
- 34:45Speaker 2: How do you will? You can? I can? I guess
- 34:47Speaker 2: how you take that? I bet you you're flattered and
- 34:49Speaker 2: then you actually really genuinely try to help them.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I do absolutely, let me ask before you answer.
- 34:53Speaker 2: What you say to what other people on your cast?
- 34:56Speaker 1: Do that? No?
- 34:57Speaker 2: No, no?
- 34:58Speaker 1: And I do that to almost every new cast member
- 35:00Speaker 1: that comes on the show. I will tell them like listen,
- 35:03Speaker 1: you know, just be yourself, don't lie, you know, just
- 35:07Speaker 1: be authentic, be open and you're gonna be fine. That's
- 35:10Speaker 1: all you can do. And if you're they don't find
- 35:12Speaker 1: you interesting enough, then it's not that bad being normal.
- 35:15Speaker 1: It's not that bad, you know, don't worry about it.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Is that? Like is that the kiss of death though,
- 35:20Speaker 2: is if they don't like you or if they don't
- 35:23Speaker 2: remember you for sure? So yeah, So when you say that,
- 35:27Speaker 2: isn't there an element of like be yourself but like
- 35:31Speaker 2: you can do this to be memorable? Yeah?
- 35:35Speaker 1: I mean yeah, But you know, when new people come
- 35:38Speaker 1: into this, they there the show's been on for so
- 35:43Speaker 1: long that they're like, I don't know what I'm supposed
- 35:45Speaker 1: to do. Or they come in and go, well, I'm
- 35:48Speaker 1: going to do what this girl did and I'm going
- 35:49Speaker 1: to act like that and I'm going to be this,
- 35:51Speaker 1: and they already have it all planned out in their head,
- 35:53Speaker 1: you know, And and that doesn't work. We don't want
- 35:57Speaker 1: somebody that's prerehearsed coming in and scram everything up for
- 36:01Speaker 1: the show. So I have to ask you a question,
- 36:11Speaker 1: what do you think the secret to success in life is?
- 36:14Speaker 2: Well, I think that's a very personal question. So I
- 36:16Speaker 2: will give my answer, but I want to hear your
- 36:18Speaker 2: answer to me, I feel like success is doing what
- 36:22Speaker 2: you want as much as you humanly possibly can. You know,
- 36:26Speaker 2: So for me, what does that mean? That means I
- 36:29Speaker 2: get to control my schedule. I get to be part
- 36:31Speaker 2: of cool projects and do things that I like while
- 36:33Speaker 2: also being present for my children and my wife and
- 36:37Speaker 2: being able to do all that you know, coach little league,
- 36:39Speaker 2: do that stuff. That's success for me? What is success
- 36:42Speaker 2: for me?
- 36:42Speaker 1: I agree with that, and I also want to say, like,
- 36:45Speaker 1: to me, success is not measured by how much money
- 36:47Speaker 1: you have in your bank, or what kind of car
- 36:49Speaker 1: you drive, what kind of you know job you have.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I think success is doing something that you really really
- 36:56Speaker 1: enjoy doing every single day and having just being happy
- 37:01Speaker 1: and having a loving family and all those things. Money
- 37:04Speaker 1: comes and goes. Don't even care about that, you know.
- 37:06Speaker 1: I don't want to be like, oh, but you know,
- 37:09Speaker 1: I'm a social climber and I'm successful. I don't buy
- 37:13Speaker 1: into that stuff.
- 37:14Speaker 2: When you say getting to do what you love to
- 37:16Speaker 2: do every day, what does that mean for tamor like,
- 37:18Speaker 2: what do you love to do for me? Like?
- 37:20Speaker 1: You know, I I didn't go to college out of
- 37:23Speaker 1: high school. I got my manicuring license. I did nails.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Then later in life, I got my real estate license,
- 37:28Speaker 1: so it's always looking for something to do when I
- 37:30Speaker 1: and I did that because I love houses, I love
- 37:33Speaker 1: decorating houses, I love everything to do with it. So
- 37:35Speaker 1: every day that I was selling houses, I enjoyed it.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Then when I got on reality TV, I had no
- 37:41Speaker 1: idea what I was getting myself into, but I really
- 37:44Speaker 1: enjoyed it, and I really liked it, and I really
- 37:46Speaker 1: liked that I had a set schedule that you know,
- 37:48Speaker 1: these days are months I'm in a film, this is
- 37:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna do press, and you know, then I do
- 37:52Speaker 1: this and then we have a few months off and
- 37:53Speaker 1: I do it all over again. I was able to
- 37:55Speaker 1: be with my kids for the majority of time. I
- 37:58Speaker 1: didn't have to get up at six and the Moe
- 38:00Speaker 1: drive to work and be gone all day long and
- 38:02Speaker 1: miss everything and come back. So I that to me
- 38:06Speaker 1: was a success because I was able to be there
- 38:09Speaker 1: for my children, for my husband and all that. Just
- 38:12Speaker 1: hard working and happiness really, you know, and.
- 38:15Speaker 2: You have a lot going on. You have a CBD company,
- 38:17Speaker 2: you have a million podcasts, you have the two houses,
- 38:20Speaker 2: I know million You talk about at some point the
- 38:23Speaker 2: house that you've fixed up because it plays into what
- 38:25Speaker 2: you're just talking about. So it sounds like for you,
- 38:27Speaker 2: what you love to do is like if you see
- 38:30Speaker 2: something you want to do, whether it's a company you
- 38:32Speaker 2: want to start, podcasts, a house you want to renovate,
- 38:34Speaker 2: you just have the capacity to do that when you
- 38:36Speaker 2: want to do it.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and I have the drive to do it for me, like,
- 38:39Speaker 1: if I put my mind to do something, I'm going
- 38:41Speaker 1: to do it, and I'm going to do I'm going
- 38:42Speaker 1: to kill it. And I have and of course I've
- 38:44Speaker 1: had failures, but your failures are what teaches you to
- 38:47Speaker 1: be stronger and to keep going. And I feel like,
- 38:50Speaker 1: you know, for this girl that didn't end up going
- 38:52Speaker 1: to college, I'm doing pretty damn well. Although my youngest
- 38:56Speaker 1: daughters like, mom, why do I have to go to college?
- 38:58Speaker 1: You didn't go to college, And look at.
- 38:59Speaker 2: You, I mean, what do you say that.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I said, listen, you're right, You're absolutely right, And I'm
- 39:05Speaker 1: not forcing my child to go to college. I said,
- 39:07Speaker 1: I think that. Well, I let her take a gap
- 39:09Speaker 1: year and she's like, oh, this sucks, like and I said,
- 39:13Speaker 1: you know, it's not fun to adult. So I if
- 39:16Speaker 1: I were you, I would take the opportunity to go
- 39:18Speaker 1: to college. You got four years your brother living his
- 39:20Speaker 1: best life. I'm paying his rent. You know, he's over
- 39:24Speaker 1: there in Fullerton, cal State Fullerton. He just actually graduated.
- 39:27Speaker 1: And you know, living you learn a lot that way.
- 39:30Speaker 1: You just learn just basic life skills.
- 39:32Speaker 2: I don't want to get sentimental here on you, But
- 39:34Speaker 2: do you think there'll be a day when you're like,
- 39:37Speaker 2: this is it? This is my last season. I'm going
- 39:39Speaker 2: to like do you want to call your shot when
- 39:41Speaker 2: you go out?
- 39:41Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 39:41Speaker 2: You do? Yeah, like the farewell tour, like this is it?
- 39:44Speaker 2: Like do you think do you think you'll hit a
- 39:46Speaker 2: point where you're like, Okay, I'm done, or do you
- 39:48Speaker 2: think you want to go until No.
- 39:50Speaker 1: I think that there's going to be a day that
- 39:52Speaker 1: I'm going to be done. I don't want to be
- 39:54Speaker 1: sixty years old and fighting with women on a reality show.
- 40:01Speaker 1: But I also think that I've been on reality for
- 40:02Speaker 1: so long that stuff is just going to come my way. Anyways,
- 40:05Speaker 1: even if I were to go, and who knows, like
- 40:08Speaker 1: nothing's promised, I could lose my job next season and
- 40:12Speaker 1: I would be perfectly fine. I've already had the firing
- 40:15Speaker 1: a couple of years back that you know what it sucked,
- 40:19Speaker 1: but once you get hurt like that, it just never
- 40:21Speaker 1: stings the same again.
- 40:22Speaker 2: But I think that's what makes you such an iconic
- 40:25Speaker 2: reality TV personality, is like you don't have to have
- 40:28Speaker 2: this right like you. I think you see people on
- 40:30Speaker 2: TV and competition shows are like they have to, like
- 40:33Speaker 2: they're so desperate and like it comes off as like inauthentic,
- 40:36Speaker 2: like when you say like I'm good tomorrow, like I
- 40:39Speaker 2: think everyone listening myself include believes it, like you've had
- 40:42Speaker 2: a great.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I've had a great run. I mean I was saying
- 40:44Speaker 1: I want to quit any time standards. I don't get
- 40:46Speaker 1: the kid. I'm not putting that message out there, but
- 40:48Speaker 1: I think when the day comes, like I'm going to
- 40:50Speaker 1: live a really happy life because at the end of
- 40:52Speaker 1: the day, I have a really happy life and I
- 40:54Speaker 1: have a really good life, and I'm very busy, and
- 40:57Speaker 1: you know, we're in the middle of doing a new
- 41:00Speaker 1: new business, so self defense business. It's basically what it
- 41:06Speaker 1: sounds like.
- 41:06Speaker 2: It's we go.
- 41:08Speaker 1: It's mostly run by simulations, so they will teach you
- 41:13Speaker 1: like virtual like virtual so it is it has tacticals
- 41:17Speaker 1: involved in it, although there's no guns, but there's they're
- 41:21Speaker 1: not actual real guns.
- 41:22Speaker 2: What is tactical like a fake gun?
- 41:23Speaker 1: It's gone just tactical just a I.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Don't know, elain like a BB gun. Is it like?
- 41:29Speaker 1: No, it's actually you go into a room. They're going
- 41:32Speaker 1: to give you different scenarios on the screen where you
- 41:35Speaker 1: are taught to carry a firearm and what the proper
- 41:38Speaker 1: way of doing that. And you go into the screen
- 41:40Speaker 1: and you can be a situation you're getting carjacked, or
- 41:43Speaker 1: you're getting you're in a shooting in the mall or
- 41:46Speaker 1: anything like that teaches you things that you would never
- 41:49Speaker 1: probably ever experience, but you could nowadays. There's the just
- 41:53Speaker 1: a self defense part where they were you're being taught
- 41:56Speaker 1: to defend yourself, not like full jiu jitsuything like that,
- 42:00Speaker 1: but the basics.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Have you gone through it?
- 42:02Speaker 1: Yes, I've gone through it? If like yeah, But it's
- 42:06Speaker 1: like a membership base where you go a couple of
- 42:08Speaker 1: times a week where you learn, like I'm putting my
- 42:10Speaker 1: daughter through it. I want to put my son. He's
- 42:12Speaker 1: fighting me on it, but I want to put my
- 42:13Speaker 1: son through it just because you know, there's a woman
- 42:16Speaker 1: the other day that was at the mall elderly woman
- 42:18Speaker 1: and she was robbed from from behind and then killed
- 42:22Speaker 1: and there's just techniques that you can learn that might
- 42:25Speaker 1: have saved her life. And it's it's just an amazing concept.
- 42:28Speaker 1: So it's yeah, it's kind of like a video game.
- 42:30Speaker 2: How did that's real? Quick? How did that's like? Where
- 42:32Speaker 2: did that come from?
- 42:33Speaker 1: We were approached by these people, this this guy. I
- 42:37Speaker 1: don't know both of them. I knew one and we
- 42:39Speaker 1: were talking. I go, oh my god, I'd really want
- 42:41Speaker 1: to invest in something like that. And he's like, well,
- 42:43Speaker 1: I brought the rights for all of California, so if
- 42:45Speaker 1: you want to get in it, and so we said, yep,
- 42:48Speaker 1: let's do it.
- 42:49Speaker 2: That's exciting. Yeah, that's very cool.
- 42:51Speaker 1: So yeah, so that's another video game of life, trying
- 42:53Speaker 1: to stay alive, Stay Alive.
- 42:55Speaker 2: We kind of talked about it, but I'm going to
- 42:57Speaker 2: I want you to get specific. So you've made a
- 42:59Speaker 2: name for yourself, right, like like if you close, if
- 43:01Speaker 2: I close my eyes and I think of housewives, I
- 43:03Speaker 2: see you in like maybe two or three others, and
- 43:05Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm like a passive you know, like Bravo fan.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Like I would say, like like.
- 43:10Speaker 1: When you're passing in the hallway and your wife has
- 43:11Speaker 1: it on.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Yeah, like yeah, like I'm like a normy, Like I'm
- 43:14Speaker 2: not going to bravokon and things like that. You know,
- 43:17Speaker 2: So what do you think has made you stand out
- 43:22Speaker 2: over the other people that have come and gone, come
- 43:25Speaker 2: and gone, Like I guarantee like when you when you
- 43:27Speaker 2: go to Bravo Khan, like you're one of the people
- 43:30Speaker 2: that you don't need a name. Everyone knows who you are,
- 43:33Speaker 2: whether they watch OC or not.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I think I think my Ranas really captures people and
- 43:40Speaker 1: saying what most people are thinking but they don't have
- 43:41Speaker 1: the balls to say it, and calling out people when
- 43:44Speaker 1: they are lying. And you know, and I'm not afraid
- 43:48Speaker 1: of making an ass out of myself. You know, you've
- 43:50Speaker 1: seen me drunk on TV.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Any moments like that you're maybe proud of or not
- 43:56Speaker 2: proud of that have like stood.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Oh, there's a ton of like what well, I mean,
- 44:00Speaker 1: you know, there was a bathtub scene I'm not very
- 44:02Speaker 1: proud of. But there's also scenes like you know, my
- 44:05Speaker 1: granddaughter was born on camera. I was baptized on camera.
- 44:08Speaker 1: I was proposed to on camera. I got married on camera.
- 44:11Speaker 1: You know, I have like Eddie's grandma that's ninety eight
- 44:15Speaker 1: years old right now, was on camera and you know
- 44:17Speaker 1: she's not going to be around for much longer and
- 44:19Speaker 1: we have her, you know, yeah, on camera.
- 44:22Speaker 2: So there's a there's a lot about any one liners
- 44:25Speaker 2: or like famous sayings, like we were talking about one
- 44:27Speaker 2: in the holidays, Judge. Yeah, I'd asked my wife what
- 44:29Speaker 2: the story was that.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I've had quite a few. I mean
- 44:33Speaker 1: one of my favorites is is you're ass jealous of
- 44:35Speaker 1: the shit that comes out of your mouth? And the
- 44:37Speaker 1: girl responded yes because she didn't know what I was
- 44:40Speaker 1: talking about.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Was that premeditated or was that on the spot? Like
- 44:43Speaker 2: had you thought of that line before?
- 44:44Speaker 1: I had thought I had heard that line before. And
- 44:46Speaker 1: there's just one girl that was just so full of
- 44:48Speaker 1: shit and she was just talking. I'm like, oh my god,
- 44:51Speaker 1: this is a perfect opportunity. That's my opinion. Was something
- 44:54Speaker 1: that I never thought would be as popular as it is.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Just never seems to go away. But but you know,
- 45:01Speaker 1: there's always stuff that's coming out of my mouth that
- 45:03Speaker 1: is it keeps on going, It just keeps on going.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Well down. It was so great to catch up and
- 45:09Speaker 1: to finally get this podcast off the ground. We have
- 45:13Speaker 1: been struggling. The last time you came out we were
- 45:16Speaker 1: supposed to do I got sick, And now here we are.
- 45:19Speaker 1: I am so excited. I hope that we're going to
- 45:22Speaker 1: be able to do a little recap on Traders as well,
- 45:24Speaker 1: because I feel like that's going to be coming out soon.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I'm so so excited. People love Traders. It's up for
- 45:30Speaker 1: an Emmy.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Awesome. I know, good job.
- 45:33Speaker 1: I don't know. I didn't do much.
- 45:35Speaker 2: You're a part of the catch. No, I'm excited. I
- 45:37Speaker 2: think we have a lot of great guests coming through.
- 45:39Speaker 2: I think I am just so excited to get a
- 45:42Speaker 2: chance to talk to them, but also see your perspective
- 45:45Speaker 2: on some of these reality TV winners that you may
- 45:48Speaker 2: not be familiar with. And I want to see how
- 45:49Speaker 2: you approach him, because we're just coming at this from
- 45:52Speaker 2: two very different angles, Oh for sure. And I like,
- 45:54Speaker 2: I always love having a front seat to like fireworks
- 45:57Speaker 2: in great entertainment, and I think I think that's coming
- 45:59Speaker 2: down the road happening.
- 46:00Speaker 1: So you guys tune in. We're going to have our
- 46:02Speaker 1: first guest, which is Max w was on Traders with
- 46:05Speaker 1: us and dancing with the stars. We'll see you soon.
