Transcript
- 0:45None. What's up, everybody?
- 0:52It's your boy Kifi. It is Thursday, almost Friday in
- 0:57the PM. And we're here for the weekly
- 1:00Ritual Ghost, cultman.com's Rock the Metal news show.
- 1:03We're here every week. Thanks for being here.
- 1:05Appreciate you all. And yeah, let's get to it.
- 1:09Got a lot to get through today. Crazy week in the world of
- 1:12music. This is your show as well.
- 1:15The best experience for this show is YouTube, Twitch,
- 1:18Facebook and Instagram. But I like hanging out on TikTok
- 1:21as well. Thanks for being here.
- 1:24Feel free to pop in, ask questions, comment, exchange.
- 1:28That's what I like to do, that's what I live for.
- 1:32Thanks. Clickety clack, clickety clack.
- 1:35Just getting that shit together and let's dispense with the
- 1:39pleasantries again. Looks like my Wi-Fi sucks ass
- 1:43today. Let's see what happens.
- 1:48Hopefully it improves. Bum bum, bum, bum.
- 2:06Lost a visual and we're back. Yeah, shitty Wi-Fi today.
- 2:10I guess that's just what's up. All righty, we'll try to.
- 2:14We'll tough it out and get through the show, $1.00.
- 2:19SE Heaven is here. Thanks brother.
- 2:21Appreciate you, $1.00. All righty, let's do the damn
- 2:26thing. Here's what we do.
- 2:28How we do get a little thing here.
- 2:30Month of September, new month, new visuals, new graphics, fun
- 2:34all the time. So hanging out with you here on
- 2:37Stream Yard. We'll talk a little bit about
- 2:39Stream Yard later. Raxis has passed by on
- 2:43Instagram. OK, just for the announcements,
- 2:48some tough ones this week. Graham Greene, who is probably
- 2:52the best known Native American actor ever beside W Duty, his
- 2:58frequent colleague and and actor in things passed away this week.
- 3:02He was only 70. Graham Greene, I mean, he's been
- 3:06in so many great things, obviously Die Hard with a
- 3:08Vengeance, Wind River might be his best work as an actor,
- 3:13obviously Dances with Wolves, a lot of other things.
- 3:16Pretty incredible career and very sad.
- 3:19Passed away it seems. Seems like young.
- 3:21Good question. I'm sure she's watching in the
- 3:23background. She's lurking.
- 3:26She's lurking, probably celebrating birthdays this week.
- 3:31There were a few, but notably Dino Kazar is a Fear Factory.
- 3:35A huge Fear Factory fan here. We'll be talking next week about
- 3:38their tour kicking off. They are almost done recording
- 3:41their new album. Also in the pantheon of the
- 3:45greatest drummers in the metal world or any world, Gene
- 3:49Hoagland. You know him best from his time
- 3:51in Death and Def Clock and formerly of Testament and also
- 3:56Dark Angel. New album this week, new tour
- 3:59coming out, kicking off this weekend.
- 4:01So, you know, Jean been in so many great projects.
- 4:05We have another new interview coming up with Jean to talk
- 4:08about the Dark Angel record. And yeah, stay tuned for that
- 4:12celebrating record release anniversaries this week.
- 4:16Melissa's here. Hi Don, still hard to believe
- 4:21these came out on the same day 21 years ago.
- 4:23Leviathan by Mastodon Lamb of God, Ashes of the wake.
- 4:27Last year we had the collab tour Ashes of the Leviathan tour.
- 4:31They did a collab single. Incredible.
- 4:34Also celebrating some album anniversaries and in begin this
- 4:39so you can appreciate the nice artwork.
- 4:45Iron Maiden's Power Slave, probably my favorite Iron Maiden
- 4:49record to be honest with you. Also in this week in history,
- 4:52Book of Souls by Iron Maiden was released.
- 4:54I still love this record. Not a lot of people else did
- 4:57though. I love this record.
- 4:59Queens Reich Empire teenage me was very stoked on this record.
- 5:04Young adult me, A reroute to remain by In Flames came out 22
- 5:09years ago. Yikes.
- 5:13Death Angel with a banger on this week 15 years ago.
- 5:18One of their comeback records. Another banger Overkill record.
- 5:23I I do love this one. Sepultura KSAD, the classic.
- 5:29Oh I know Don loves that QR album.
- 5:33I would love to do that on the Glacial Musical podcast.
- 5:36We'll see. Nick is very anti Queen's Reich,
- 5:39I'm not sure why with some of the stuff he listens to.
- 5:41Paradise Lost on one of their 18,000 albums.
- 5:43Medusa. Megadeth with the very
- 5:48unfortunate Risk album from 1998.
- 5:54Thank you, also by Megadeth. The sick, the dying, the dead.
- 5:58I happen to love this record. First record with our boy Dirk
- 6:01Verburen, last record with Pico Laurearo.
- 6:05Very sad. That's the classic sound of
- 6:08perseverance. Speaking of Gene Hoagland,
- 6:11Disturbed, shockingly, this is a number one album for Disturbed.
- 6:16You know, I'm sure Don's laughter is for Paradise Lost
- 6:21Asylum. I didn't know that Disturbed had
- 6:23four number one rock albums. This is insane.
- 6:26Omnium gathering with a good one a while back.
- 6:29Dan is here. Shane Peacock, 76 is here.
- 6:32Nothing but troubles here. Scooter is here.
- 6:35What up Scooter? Thanks for tuning in.
- 6:41No, that's true. Melissa is my emergency contact
- 6:45now. Primal fear with a banger.
- 6:48Nuclear assault. This is a classic third world
- 6:51genocide. And yeah, that's it for the
- 6:53history, the rock and metal history.
- 6:56That's where we like to start. Just a reminder we are not
- 6:59corporate backed, so if you want to drop us a tip on live stream,
- 7:02especially y'all on YouTube, we're going to start rolling out
- 7:05subscriptions. Sub scooter, how are you doing?
- 7:08Just started the show. We are going to roll out
- 7:13subscriptions and I'm going to hybrid subscription, basically
- 7:16my sub stack with YouTube. So if you want to get in on that
- 7:20early, go right ahead. And we'll be doing special perks
- 7:25and live streams for all the subscribers, but that's coming
- 7:30soon. But in the meantime, you can
- 7:32drop a tip, a citizen tip from me.
- 7:35And to quote Sublime, not Sublime With Rome, but Sublime
- 7:39and super thanks, super like super chat.
- 7:42Those things are all appreciated.
- 7:43They all go back into the company.
- 7:45Any money we make. Fucking Jesus, that was
- 7:50shocking. Caustic Dillinger is here.
- 7:54What's up? All the real ones are here.
- 7:56We just started the show, Dillinger, so we're getting into
- 7:58the thick of it. Dillinger has arrived.
- 8:02So yeah, we're we're doing the damn thing.
- 8:05JS is here. Appreciate you being here.
- 8:09There's our QR code if you want to check it out.
- 8:11And now it's time for some features.
- 8:15The links to donate are in the description, Donald, but you
- 8:18don't have to just donate because you're on staff and I
- 8:21don't want you to donate to us. Although I appreciate tips
- 8:28features this week and we've had quite a few.
- 8:30Today we dropped the comeback re single, I guess the reissue
- 8:36single of the dazzling Killman. If you like some avant-garde
- 8:39alternative metal rock partnering up with their own
- 8:43with Skin Graft Records, we did this today.
- 8:47And never mind. Fair enough.
- 8:52Yeah. So dazzling, Killman.
- 8:53We dropped that today. You can check that out in one of
- 8:55our posts. And also this week, we did a
- 8:59bunch of interviews. I ran my interview with Dan
- 9:01Lorenzo of Patriarchs in Black. I know Dan from my youth is the
- 9:06leader of Hades, the thrash metal band from New Jersey.
- 9:08Dan Lorenzo has this doom metal Stoner rock band with Johnny
- 9:12Kelly of Type O Negative. Quite a riot.
- 9:15Sun don't shine new album, new single by Sun don't Shine this
- 9:20week by the way. Also also my interview with Matt
- 9:22Harvey of Gruesome and Exhumed Rand.
- 9:24We we love Matt. He's again, one of my frequent
- 9:28collaborator, Dillinger Escape Plan big time influenced by the
- 9:32dazzling Kilman. That is correct.
- 9:34That is absolutely correct. Dillinger Compound.
- 9:37Right you are. So, yeah, Matt Harvey, we love
- 9:40talking to him. He's a huge metal nerd.
- 9:42He's a huge Metallica nerd. But a new gruesome record,
- 9:45Silent Echoes is out and on relapse.
- 9:46The whole record is a oh, please don't, Don.
- 9:52Don't do it, Nick, please. Whatever you do, don't start
- 9:54rapping Matt. The whole Silent Echoes album is
- 9:59a tribute to Sean Reinert, who died over the pandemic, and we
- 10:03just also recently interviewed Gus Rios of Gruesome, so you can
- 10:06check back across the different bands and interviews talking
- 10:10about those things. Also, Speaking of Sun Don't
- 10:12Shine and 6° of typo negative Oration Robin is indeed still
- 10:18the basis of Gruesome. That is correct on Kenny Hickey
- 10:23interviewed by my partner at Ghost called Omar Cordy.
- 10:25New sun don't shine single What you are out now go check all
- 10:30that out. Probably you know the Best Song
- 10:32of the week almost. Also, Omar recently interviewed
- 10:34Angela Moore of Fishbone where he was defiant about changes in
- 10:39the band, which I thought was pretty fucking interesting.
- 10:45Gary Waters is here. JS what's up Z2892 Camaro Dirt
- 10:54jail is here. What up, What up?
- 10:58Yeah, she's such a bad ass. Also, Speaking of Don, right
- 11:02here in the chat here in the comments Southeast of heaven.
- 11:04Don interviewed Marissa Nadler for our podcast.
- 11:08So this is a fancy graphic, but you can check out wherever you
- 11:12listen to podcast. This show will be a podcast We a
- 11:16lot of our content lives also as a podcast if you don't have time
- 11:19to watch videos, I know people that don't watch any video
- 11:22anything. So if you are down to listen
- 11:25check it out. Also also the Today as we record
- 11:30this is the last chance to enter to win our ticket giveaway for
- 11:34Wordruna and Chelsea Wolf. That tour kicks off the day.
- 11:38No people have entered for the first show so I have extended it
- 11:42by one more night and Don loves some people and people love you.
- 11:47I agree. I agree but we're doing a huge
- 11:51fan. I'm hoping to go next week in
- 11:53Oakland. The TBD on that.
- 11:56I believe it's Wednesday and there's the QR code if you want
- 12:01to enter just right off your phone if you're watching this on
- 12:03your computer. Also also, I have the Glacially
- 12:06musical podcast, which Don is the Co host and we are also
- 12:10doing a merch giveaway that ends next week to win some of Nick's
- 12:15personally curated vinyl or CDs. You can enter also at the pin
- 12:20post on our website on both those giveaways.
- 12:24It goes cold man.com. And now it's time for the news
- 12:28rundown. And as always, we start the news
- 12:30rundown with festivals, festivals and tour dates.
- 12:32So let's rock it. And Yep, ha ha, perhaps let me
- 12:40know first when I'm going to the show.
- 12:41That's fine, brother. Punk in the park.
- 12:44We're looking to cover this coming up next month, a month
- 12:47from today, Bad Religion, Pennywise descendants and the
- 12:50interrupters in LA. Our our buddy Wayne Edwards will
- 12:53be heading down for that. Next thing up we're in.
- 12:56We're covering beside that is Louder than Life in
- 12:59mid-september, Slayer, Avenged Sevenfold, Death, Tones, Bring
- 13:02Me the Horizon, Rob Zombie, Sleep Token, Bad Omens, and
- 13:06Suicide Boys. Hard to believe that Rob Zombie
- 13:08is kind of on the second tier, but obviously behind Slayer, so
- 13:12not too bad. Marilyn Manson, I wonder how he
- 13:16will get along with Zombie. They left on very bad terms last
- 13:21time around. Actually the glacial musical new
- 13:23episode is up now. I got it up early.
- 13:25Thanks Nick. Thanks to Nick getting it up
- 13:27early actually. Faustian Band is here.
- 13:29Leo Cullen is here. Thanks for everybody showing up
- 13:32support and I appreciate it. So ladder in life coming up soon
- 13:36aftershock coming up soon. I'm still hopeful to go to that.
- 13:39Also TBD. This is pretty fun.
- 13:41This is already underway if you're in the East Coast in
- 13:43Maryland, but you could go tomorrow.
- 13:44Vultures of volume to we know that Maryland June Fest is now
- 13:48disbanded and had their last event in June.
- 13:51Spirit Caravan Elder Wretched Solace with the brand new
- 13:55reissue out. Dora Taya Catrawl from Wind
- 13:58hand, who both Don and I love a lot.
- 14:00King Giant, Pale Divine, Kelly Carmichael Weed is Weed.
- 14:03Great Band, Foghound Killer Band, Righteous Bloom, Thousand
- 14:07Vision, Mist Wizard Eye, Witch Hazel Wasted Theory.
- 14:10Heavy Temple. Beloved Heavy Temple.
- 14:12Here it goes. Called Faith and Jane.
- 14:14Balejack and Buzzard Canyon. Louder Than Life.
- 14:18That's right. Dillinger Escape Planet.
- 14:19Louder than Life. We're looking forward to it.
- 14:23Sonic Temple announced their 2026 full lineup is coming.
- 14:26They started dropping the announcements in the last couple
- 14:29of days, so some very big hitters are expected for this,
- 14:32so stay tuned. Punk Rock Christmas is taking
- 14:36place in Arizona. Just got the yay from the team
- 14:38out in Phoenix. They're going to go cover this
- 14:42levitation festival is coming up also in September.
- 14:45Boy, I would love to go to this Mastodon acid bath the sword who
- 14:48I just saw and they were phenomenal.
- 14:49Blood Incantation, The armed Phoebe on the radio, Blonde
- 14:54Redhead, Ravenette, Swerve Driver, Pavement, Bill to Spill,
- 14:59Black Angels on tour right now in the US.
- 15:01Very underrated unsung psychedelic rock.
- 15:04Swedish metal band. Which finger is a place to bury
- 15:07strangers? Former Coast Co interviewee Up
- 15:10Chuck boy, Harsher, Sudan Archives Pop and Jeff
- 15:14Rosenstock, Andy Warhols and many many more.
- 15:17Kristen is here. What up Chris?
- 15:18How are you? How are you doing?
- 15:24Shot you an e-mail earlier. Yee Yee is also here.
- 15:26Yee Yee Hell's Heroes has announced their huge lineup for
- 15:32next spring. This would be a fun one to go do
- 15:35with Don and Nick Loudness for some rock'n'roll crazy nights.
- 15:39Bathory Warlock featuring Doro Voivod.
- 15:45I mean, these are some of my favorite bands that were three
- 15:47inches of blood who I still haven't seen Sanctuary supposed
- 15:50to be coming back and doing some festival.
- 15:51Oh no, so tired. A little pat nap will do you.
- 15:54Chris. I will tell you that naps are
- 15:56life when you get to a certain age.
- 15:58My age. In fact, the last two episodes
- 16:08of glacially musical podcast have been honestly back.
- 16:11I hate, you know, I hate to toot my own horn, but bangers, Yeah,
- 16:17maybe I would like to. You got to talk to Nick.
- 16:18Nicky boy, this is kind of fun. This is also this weekend, the
- 16:23hard presents metal fest in memory of Steve McGowan Hemlock,
- 16:29who a former ghost call interviewees.
- 16:31Big fan of theirs because everybody who are throwing some
- 16:35some fun graphics our way on the TikTok.
- 16:39And I know cultural warfare and frolic.
- 16:41Probably because from the Bay Area Bangor town.
- 16:47Oh it was oh show. I agree, this is just
- 16:51hilariously funny. Cherry Street Station in
- 16:54Connecticut is hosting the war. Catapalooza seems like a name
- 16:58Don would have come up with. But I found out about this
- 17:01because our homies epicenter are on the bill so they were posting
- 17:06about this. So I thought I would throw this
- 17:08in here. Big fan of theirs.
- 17:10Damnation festival coming up this November.
- 17:12Hopefully we'll be back at it again.
- 17:14The headline by corrosion of conformity and napalm death,
- 17:17Perturbator Death Have an Amin, raw, the haunted, High On Fire,
- 17:21orbit, culture on a knock rock, Pig Destroyer, warning,
- 17:24onslaught, worm rock, Guerra. So many killer bands.
- 17:29That's my maiden name. You're so funny bro.
- 17:34Also Wrecking Ball fest. This is Frozen Souls festival
- 17:39that they help put on every year in in their town of Dallas is
- 17:42announced with Suffocation as being one of the bands.
- 17:45I thought I had the bigger poster here.
- 17:47Burneth fest is struggling. We mentioned last week that they
- 17:50are reducing their prices for the whole weekend now.
- 17:55They canceled the pre night show.
- 17:58I hope they make it to their thing.
- 17:59They've got about four weeks left.
- 18:01If you've thought about going and never went and you can, I
- 18:04suggest you go. This also looks cool.
- 18:07Substance Fest 2025 in LA headline.
- 18:11Both nights by Trust had all the place to Bury strangers, Soft
- 18:16vein, some absolute killer bands.
- 18:18And I believe this is just a couple of days or the same day
- 18:22as the 9 Inch Nails Future Ruins festivals on Saturday the 8th.
- 18:27So you could theoretically go to like night 1 of this, have a
- 18:30wonderful time and then go to all day to the 9 inch Nails
- 18:34thing. And that was all the festivals a
- 18:36little shorter this week. And now on to the concert tours
- 18:40and some big ones where Druna kicks off tonight.
- 18:42As we mentioned in Fort Worth, TX, I hope to be going in
- 18:46Oakland next week. We will be covering the tour.
- 18:48We'll be giving tickets away. Been a great partnership with
- 18:51them. I'm really stoked and I hope we
- 18:53do more of these. We're Druna and Chelsea Wolf,
- 18:55just Bangertown, Bangertown 9 inch nails peela back tour
- 19:01continues. I've been getting very good
- 19:02reports from my East Coast brethren about the show.
- 19:08We saw the thing this week where Trent Resnor was cracked up by a
- 19:11crowd surfing Santa Claus in the middle of Head Like a Hole
- 19:14trying to end the show and he couldn't stop laughing.
- 19:16It was pretty great. System of a Down had their first
- 19:20two of their big stadium tours. This is the trial run probably
- 19:25for like a big stadium tour in the future if they get along and
- 19:28everything. I did see a funny thing today
- 19:31where some of the merch was obviously printed in a rush.
- 19:33So for the for the shows with Deftones in Toronto, like it's
- 19:40like says System of a down with the Deftones new band photo on
- 19:43it. I don't know whoever was hired
- 19:45to do this if that's funny or not, but pretty bad.
- 19:49Slayer got this one off concert in Hershey Park, Pennsylvania,
- 19:54September 20th in the thick of festival weekend, including
- 19:58Louder Than Life, which Slayer will do on Thursday and then
- 20:01clearly drive from Kentucky to Pennsylvania.
- 20:03Slayer knocked loose, Suicidal Tendencies, Power Trip, Cavalera
- 20:07Brothers doing Chaos CD, and Exodus doing all of Bonded by
- 20:10Blood. Holy hell, what a lineup,
- 20:14Ancients. We told you about this last
- 20:15week. They're kicking off a big
- 20:17headline tour this week with Arm for the Apocalypse and some
- 20:22other bands. Bad Omens is doing a European
- 20:25Tour and the UK tour next winter.
- 20:29Dark Angel kicks off their new album.
- 20:31We talked about Gene a few minutes ago.
- 20:32Tiny Mountain is here. Black Water Rising is here.
- 20:35Hello, hello. Dark Angel will be kicking off
- 20:39the Extinction Level event tour central.
- 20:42How Dukes in. I'm telling you, not exactly,
- 20:44but it'd be fun. It is that show out in Dukes in
- 20:48Pantera is wrapping up their tour in the next week with The
- 20:50Modern Martha and King Parrots. This tour is kicking off already
- 20:55kicked off Youth Code King, Yosef St.
- 20:57Sex and Insula Iscariot. I think they're playing actually
- 21:01like Right in my hood in a few weeks.
- 21:04There's the Wrecking Ball full poster.
- 21:06Sorry about that. Frozen Soul, Suffocation,
- 21:08devourment 200, stab Wounds, Killer band, ingrown, Creeping
- 21:12death. Lot of bands I like No Cure,
- 21:14Body box, Flesh rock, Tribal gaze.
- 21:17Very cool. So Metallica news, Metallica is
- 21:21giving away tickets to their 5th member club which used to be for
- 21:27pay and now it's free. They have announced A1 off show
- 21:31for sales forces, Dreamforce contest.
- 21:34That's right conference. It's right here in my backyard
- 21:37in San Francisco. I entered to hopefully win
- 21:40tickets. Perhaps I'll get chosen, perhaps
- 21:42not, but I'd be fun to go. They're going to play at the
- 21:45Chase Center, probably a headline style show.
- 21:48We have some other Metallica news coming up soon.
- 21:50Again, this is unbelievable. God Forbid, Darkest Hour,
- 21:53Bleeding through at Nora, three shows, East Coast end of the
- 21:56year, Oh my goodness, just insane.
- 22:02Constitution of Treason all in full, played by God Forbid at
- 22:05that show. Maybe we'll do some more stuff
- 22:08with them. Coven again kicking off their
- 22:10tour this weekend of South America, which will be recorded
- 22:12for a live album, which hopefully will come after a new
- 22:15album. You know, one can only hope.
- 22:23What else? What else?
- 22:25What else? Acid Bath, Mastodon, Power trip
- 22:27Amigo, the Devil, Soylent Green and Suplex in an arena in NOLA.
- 22:33I've been waiting six years for this new Dark Angel.
- 22:35It kept hinting and hinting. Now I'm seeing them in Toronto
- 22:37and Hyrax. That's killer, dude.
- 22:39I interviewed Gene, I've heard this record.
- 22:41I absolutely love it. It comes out tomorrow.
- 22:45People have been were kind of shitting on the first single and
- 22:47the artwork and stuff like that doesn't make any sense.
- 22:50And interestingly enough, reversed records is the label
- 22:55and it's basically their band label.
- 22:58Them and a partner for it formed a label because at this point
- 23:01Gene will prefers to be DIY if it's his own band as opposed to,
- 23:06you know, being part of death clock or something else.
- 23:08So very cool, very cool. I love Hyrax also.
- 23:11I saw them this brand new were amazing again last week.
- 23:15Paul Bearer played the charity show for Nate Garrett and his
- 23:18wife this week in Seattle for substations 10th anniversary
- 23:22with Witch Ripper Agnostic Front.
- 23:26Not Agnostic Back, but Agnostic Front has announced some more
- 23:30tour dates. They've been a new record coming
- 23:32soon. A lot of stuff going on with
- 23:34them again. Told you about this last week,
- 23:36Na Oblivious Garris and Rivers of Nile during the big team up
- 23:41tour. And Rivers of Nile has announced
- 23:42some off dates where they will also still do their full new
- 23:46album playthrough. Which I think is very exciting
- 23:49that a band is confident about their brand new album, not just
- 23:51their old stuff. Sky Blue tour coming up soon.
- 23:55This is the Berkeley date on 11/11.
- 23:57We shall see if I go. For some reason, Wrecking Ball
- 23:59poster again. Vitriol has announced this tour
- 24:03with Unmerciful and a bunch of other bands.
- 24:05Very cool for Vitriols have some lineup changes, but they are
- 24:09trying to, you know, keep it going, which I respect.
- 24:13Queens Reich, here we go. Don, are they coming to your
- 24:17neck of the woods? I don't know Florida, Florida,
- 24:22Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, Arkansas and then
- 24:26California, so no, that kind of bites too bad, though.
- 24:30I don't know what the closest to you.
- 24:33I don't know if Florida is worth it going to Fort Smith, AR is a
- 24:37strange or routing, but Queens where I can accept that's pretty
- 24:41awesome. I would kind of want to go see
- 24:43this. Tornillo has been very solid
- 24:46with except Sir Roin. Focus is here.
- 24:53Also Court Chuck is here. Eddie the Real McCoy, Shutter to
- 24:58Think tour. Just a reminder about that.
- 24:59Only a handful of dates, no taint, no Queen's work.
- 25:02You can't be serious, dude. I know you don't like Todd.
- 25:05Todd is awesome. Better Lovers has announced the
- 25:08big tour. They just wrapped up their new
- 25:10album. We'll be seeing that soon.
- 25:12So this is all for late 25 and they will hopefully be back in
- 25:17the States in 2668 and Grey Haven to open.
- 25:20That's very cool. Sengusa Gabag has finally
- 25:25announced their openers. This is, you know, Illegible
- 25:28Logo, Time Despised Icon and a bunch of other bands as well as
- 25:33Everybody Dies, Gorgasm, Volcano, Ran Through a Pawn,
- 25:35Stone Bay Way, Bay Way, New Jersey Hardcore, What Up,
- 25:38Skinless, Ringworm, Anatomize and more.
- 25:44Looks like Shotgun from Land to the Lost Todd.
- 25:46Yeah, a little bit. Bell's at six this year.
- 25:51All time low. You know, they've been doing
- 25:53crazy shit this whole year where they've been just kind of
- 25:55popping up in people's backyards and playing bar mitzvahs and
- 25:58birthday parties. And now they've got a huge tour.
- 26:00They're kicking off soon with Mayday Parade, Cab Four Years
- 26:04Strong and More foreigner. It's time for some foreigner
- 26:08news. People have listened to me on
- 26:10the Glacial Musical podcast with Don Know.
- 26:12We are like the unofficial foreigner podcast.
- 26:14But this is their tour for Europe for next summer, so I
- 26:19believe they will be doing probably the States again in the
- 26:24spring with additional dates being added.
- 26:28Soto and Beeler you might be interested in this.
- 26:30They're doing a like a couple of shows.
- 26:33Jeff Scott Soto and Jason Beeler recently interviewed by Don on
- 26:37Coast Cult YouTube Scoundrels and shenanigans tomfoolery
- 26:42Musical mayhem tour. It's kind of fun.
- 26:45Foreigner again. Skindrid's picking up a the UK
- 26:49and European Tour soon with Snakes and Dead Pony I think.
- 26:53I once referred to snakes as snacks and they got really mad
- 26:56at me on Twitter. It's kind of funny.
- 26:59This is kicking off tonight, the Sparkle and Fade 30th
- 27:03anniversary tour Everclear with local H and Sponge.
- 27:07Sad to be missing this one. I think it's on Sunday or
- 27:11Saturday so I'm not going to see that one sadly, but Oh well.
- 27:16Smash Into Pieces, a band that I like a lot, is kicking off their
- 27:20tour next week in Europe. New Smash Into Pieces album
- 27:23coming soon. Moths is a band I'm very high on
- 27:27with a former ghost cultist. Wesley Negron is got their
- 27:31record release party for their new album Septim in September.
- 27:37That's not a pun. Valley of the Sun and Fuzz evil.
- 27:40Handful of dates together in Texas.
- 27:42Omnium gathering. Fallujah In Memoriam going to
- 27:47tour all of Europe next year. This time next year and some
- 27:52cancellations. This was pretty sad.
- 27:54Bad news. Good news, Frank Carter and the
- 27:57Sex Pistols had to cancel their entire North American tour as
- 28:01well as some of their festival appearances because Steve Jones
- 28:04broke his wrist. On the plus side, he doesn't
- 28:06need extensive surgery and it's going to heal and they can
- 28:10rebook their tour next year. But what a bummer.
- 28:13And then also Zetro in, Zetro out.
- 28:17No tour for Zetro? Zetro was going to tour South
- 28:19America and eventually do America with his sort of like
- 28:23Zetro retrospective Exodus Testament solo music and he had
- 28:28to cancel the South American tour.
- 28:30Lynx is here. Hey, Lynx from Old Blood.
- 28:33Good to see you missing that band a lot.
- 28:36I need to go get my records out and spin them.
- 28:39Hope you're well legs. So yeah, that's that's all the
- 28:43jazz going on. We're at the halfway point.
- 28:46So again, just a reminder rocking the affiliate partners
- 28:50Fable Beard and I'll put myself back on screen there I am Fable
- 28:56Beard. This is your go to product if

- 29:10deodorant. I also have like a little
- 29:11Cologne spray. The beard washed their beard
- 29:14products are all natural. This deodorant is all natural.
- 29:17I have a pretty sensitive skin, but you know, it's kind of like
- 29:20get a rash or smell. So like now I don't have that
- 29:23problem anymore. I can not smell and not have a
- 29:26rash. Really cool, so good times from

- 30:26There is not. It's to keep your taint from
- 30:28smelling. We're on all the social things.
- 30:31Maybe you're sick of them. We're on threads, we're on blue
- 30:33sky, we're on Twitch, we're on Discord, we are pop up on Reddit
- 30:36from time to time. There's our Cracker Barrel
- 30:39Cracker Barrel logo and now it's time for the rest of the news.
- 30:43Let's whiz through this. I got stuff to do some more sad
- 30:46news about Brent from Mastodon. You know, I all these deaths of
- 30:52people I care for, their music and them are very tough.
- 30:56And we found out today that Brent was ruled by the Atlanta
- 31:01and Georgia State Police and the Atlanta PD that he was at fault
- 31:04in the auto accident that claimed his life.
- 31:09You know, I don't know what else to say about that except it's
- 31:11hard. They did a memorial walk for
- 31:13Brent all through Atlanta that Mastodon shared the video of.
- 31:16There will be a celebration of life for him.
- 31:19There's been a lot of pictures and people popping up.
- 31:21Here's a picture of some of the band dudes with Paul Romano who
- 31:24did the Leviathan artwork. And yeah, just just tough.
- 31:29A lot of people are still broken up about that one.
- 31:32Super heartbreaking. Just a reminder there is still
- 31:36going on Cradle Of Filth drama. So Zoe Federoff is out of the
- 31:43band. A shock is out of the band.
- 31:45Cradle is finishing their South American tour with one guitar
- 31:48player and a backup new touring key.
- 31:52You know, keyboardist and vocalist Kelsey Peters, who I
- 31:54had met in the past when I lived in Brooklyn, and the barbs are
- 31:58still going. They're still going.
- 32:00Somebody should tell these people to shut the fuck up, and
- 32:04they should have lawyered up and be quiet.
- 32:05Now, Zoe didn't have a contract, apparently.
- 32:08But this is just, I think a lot of people are just surprised at
- 32:12how the music industry works and how contracts work and how, you
- 32:15know, again, if you don't really have a stake in a band that you
- 32:17own, you just get less money than everybody else.
- 32:20It sucks but that's what it is. Liquid death buried alive.
- 32:28I'm a fan. OK.
- 32:31Also also NHL 2K 26 is going to be out with an official
- 32:38soundtrack that is mostly punk and metal.
- 32:39Pretty cool. 9 Inch Nails dropped a video for their brand
- 32:44new song from the Tron era soundtrack that comes out in a
- 32:47few weeks. The movie comes out next month.
- 32:48Super stoked we finally got it. The spirit box poppy Evanescence
- 32:55song. It's pretty damn bad ass, I got
- 32:57to be honest. And yeah, it seems like it's
- 33:03Poppy's song because I got the press release from Poppy's PR
- 33:07team from Sumerian Records. But yeah, it's kind of their
- 33:10collaborative song. Would love a collaborative album
- 33:13from all three of them, but it really sounded like each one of
- 33:15them. And then, you know, like Amy
- 33:18sang, Poppy sang, and then Courtney came in with the
- 33:21screams in the breakdown. So End of You is the name of the
- 33:25track. You can scream it everywhere
- 33:26now. Watch the video.
- 33:28We have it on our site as well. Some more good news for
- 33:32Deftones. They finished with a top five
- 33:34record, no easy feat after we've had some #1 records this year.
- 33:38Deftones Private Music did come out at the same time as like
- 33:41Sabrina Carpenter and a few other things that are big pop
- 33:45hits right now but good for Deftones.
- 33:47They continue to gear up for their festivals now that their
- 33:51tour is over. Some more stuff about Ozzy.
- 33:56We're still waiting to see when that documentary from BBC is
- 33:59going to get a re airing. But Pink Floyd is my favorite
- 34:04band and Black Sabbath is one of my other favorite bands, as you
- 34:07can see from the shirt today. And of all the people that came
- 34:13out with tributes for Ozzy when he died, the person who did not
- 34:16want to eulogize or empathize with Ozzy and his fans and
- 34:21family is Roger Waters of Pink Floyd.
- 34:23I love Pink Floyd. Roger said some very derogatory
- 34:26things. I never gave a shit about Ozzy
- 34:28or Black Sabbath. This that the other thing.
- 34:30So Jack has clapped back. And I thought this was pretty
- 34:33fucking excellent. I will read it to you because
- 34:36it's worth reading. I was pretty surprised that you
- 34:41know he was so blunt, but it's pretty fucking great.
- 34:43Hey Roger Waters, fuck you. How pathetic and out of touch
- 34:46you become. The only way you seem to get
- 34:48attention these days is by vomiting out bullshit and the
- 34:50press. My father always thought you
- 34:51were a cunt. Thanks for proving him right.
- 34:54Clown emoji clap back. You know, if you have nothing
- 34:59nice to say, my mom needs to say say nothing, you know?
- 35:03So not fucking sure. But any who, on a good Aussie
- 35:06note, Oklahoma University kicked off their college football
- 35:09season and their marching band played crazy train and did like
- 35:13an Aussie formation on the field, which is kind of fucking
- 35:15nice. Otep.
- 35:17We haven't heard much from them in about a year after their I'm
- 35:22retiring from music, selling off all my gear.
- 35:24Otep's finally Molotov Cocktails podcast about politics is
- 35:28kicking off soon. I'm a big fan and looking
- 35:31forward to that. Otep's social media pages are
- 35:33soliciting dial in questions to be played on the air as well as
- 35:38emails. So I think it'll be very
- 35:39interesting. Always very brilliant
- 35:42politically brown eyed girl Daniel Rivas fulminator all
- 35:45people who've been here before hanging out on the tick of the
- 35:48top. Thanks for being here.
- 35:53All right, Hey, sun, don't shine this here.
- 35:55We talked about you concept cafes like all my recent
- 35:58interview. People are showing up.
- 35:59Great to see you all buy some concept cafes coffee.
- 36:02Well, some more concept cafes content coming soon, Metallica
- 36:07with some more Metallica news beside that show.
- 36:10Their Metallica Scholars initiative has doubled from last
- 36:13year where they're getting scholarships for Metallica
- 36:16people to go to schools and learn vocations and actually get
- 36:19jobs that that are helpful to them.
- 36:21That's pretty cool. They're also doing a bunch of
- 36:26things, a bunch of giveaways and things for their upcoming tour.
- 36:30And they launched, of course, their Maximum Metallica channel
- 36:34and SiriusXM. Shout out to Sean the Butcher, a
- 36:37friend of the show from SiriusXM, and Jose Mangan, who's
- 36:41always been cool to us for helping launch that that concert
- 36:45out on And the Gansett. The Violet Hour is the new solo
- 36:50band from Carla Harvey, formerly of Butcher Babies, and she's
- 36:54also the Acid Queen in Lords of Acid and she's announced the
- 36:58lineup for her touring band for her solo stuff.
- 37:00Very excited about this great EPM.
- 37:03Still hopeful to catch up with her for an interview at some
- 37:06point. Always had a good rapport with
- 37:08Butcher Babies. Oh yeah OK no worries links, we
- 37:12will catch up soon. I hope you're well.
- 37:15Slipknot is broken. The Billion Club seems like they
- 37:17would have done it sooner. Finally broke the Billions Club
- 37:20with their song Duality. I push my fingers into my fries.
- 37:24I mean eyes. So very cool for them.
- 37:26And their new anniversary box set of their debut album comes
- 37:31out tomorrow. Josh Freeze gave yet another
- 37:34interview to a big publication where he said, hey, it was mad
- 37:37that I got fired from Foo Fighters.
- 37:39But the ultimately, the music is not for me.
- 37:42And much happier being in Nine Inch Nails.
- 37:43By all accounts, I saw Josh with 9 Inch Nails at the first show
- 37:47he did. He slayed it with one rehearsal
- 37:50with the whole band and a few days to practice.
- 37:53Unbelievable. And he's been slaying it on the
- 37:55tour. This is pretty cool.
- 37:57I know that E Rake Records had had some beef with their artists
- 38:01in the past. They're putting out this.
- 38:03I kind of would like to get this.
- 38:04I talked about it on the podcast with you, Don this Liberation
- 38:08Through Distortion, which they apparently named an 8 LP box set
- 38:13of Napalm Death stuff. Now I have some of the early
- 38:15Napalm Death reissues already, but this looks very cool and E
- 38:22Rake does do a very good job whenever they release something.
- 38:26So I think this is this is kind of fun.
- 38:28If you were at like an absolute die hard Napalm Death and grind
- 38:32core fan, especially those first few albums.
- 38:34Yeah, you might need to get this.
- 38:35It's not that expensive. It's only like 200 something
- 38:37bucks for the 8 LP. So I feel like it's, you know,
- 38:41kind of like a value too. Revocation's got a new album
- 38:44coming out and drop the new single in video.
- 38:47Very excited about new Revocation.
- 38:49A lot of new bands with new stuff coming up.
- 38:51Last week we told you about Soul Fly with a new record coming.
- 38:54The Past Modes documentary has a release date coming up around
- 38:57Halloween. This looks really cool.
- 39:00Another documentary now being filmed is going to celebrate the
- 39:04old New Jersey venue Maxwell's. This I'm pretty excited about.
- 39:10Should be cool. The gorillas who have done like
- 39:15Adult Swim Festival and all kinds of things are going to
- 39:18participate in the Fortnite festival.
- 39:20That is kind of cool. What else?
- 39:25What else? What else?
- 39:27So much stuff to talk about. Radiohead's Hail to the Thief
- 39:34live album surprise drop last week.
- 39:37So this is out there if you're a big Radiohead fan, especially
- 39:39from that era. First few albums.
- 39:43Ghost is doing an anniversary version of Melly or it might
- 39:46already be sold out, I'm not sure.
- 39:48But I wanted to show it to you all today.
- 39:50Pretty cool. I already have this record.
- 39:52I got it when it was new. I don't really need it again.
- 39:55Blurs has an album anniversary reissue coming out.
- 39:58A lot of bands, there's a lot of reissues are getting named.
- 40:01Stay tuned for our big end of the year reissue video.
- 40:05I'm going to show off some of mine.
- 40:06Paper Cut is a new label from a couple of metal core bands.
- 40:11This is kind of cool. Nick or Butcher?
- 40:13I was on my way to make a final statement myself.
- 40:15Yeah. When bands are making final
- 40:17statements, I don't want any part of this.
- 40:19Do you? How about you?
- 40:21I don't want anything to do with this.
- 40:22Kitty Gabby is here. Steve 710 is here.
- 40:24We're almost done with the show. We've zipped through everything.
- 40:27It is now time to talk about New Music Friday.
- 40:31So let us do the damn thing and let's see I will call up the new
- 40:39music Friday thing had it handy and now I don't I don't know
- 40:43what's going on. Let's see new music.
- 40:53We we had a whole summer where we were just like inundated with
- 40:56new albums all the time. There really has been no break
- 40:59ever since the ever since the ever since the good old days,
- 41:07the before times, we really don't have a break anymore.
- 41:10So you know, we, I feel like we're doing a good service by
- 41:16staying current. So here's this week's new
- 41:19records. We usually run a video content
- 41:22every weekend and then we share the posts, tag bands, tag
- 41:26labels, stuff coming out this week.

- 44:36Friday. And now it's time for a
- 44:38breakdown on what's going on here in San Francisco.
- 44:41Just San Francisco. Sounds like a riot is happening
- 44:45outside. Dogs barking, kids screaming.
- 44:48Let's talk about the mailbag, man.
- 44:50And this week I got a fun thing. I want to just again, highlight
- 44:54some books that I've been reading and getting prepared to
- 44:57review. One of them is this incredible
- 44:59Z2 Comics Minnie Paul cookbook drumming up an appetite with
- 45:04Vinnie. Apparently beside drumming and
- 45:06strip clubs that he ran, Vinnie loved cooking.
- 45:09He used to invite people over to his house.
- 45:11So this is beautifully illustrated with fun recipes.
- 45:14I have a review coming of this, but I'm just, you know, just
- 45:18tickled that this is a thing and I'm really happy about it.
- 45:20That the sort of Vinnie Paul work and move on that makes me
- 45:24really happy. And also I've talked about this
- 45:26a little bit before. I've been a reader of the blood
- 45:29of God's wine and metal mags. You can find it fine food and
- 45:34wine stores. And now they've collected the
- 45:35six the first six vintages or the 1st 5 vintages, first five
- 45:40vintages, Blood of gods, the book.
- 45:42These are in depth interviews with metal and wine making
- 45:45people. Sometimes I crossover Les
- 45:47Claypool, Primus Manor, James Keenan of Tool, but also actual
- 45:51real metal people who also work in the wine industry, Juan
- 45:54Graven from Satiricon who sold his first wine brand for like
- 45:58$60 million that does not need to make any more metal with
- 46:01Tainas in here. Really cool, really fucking
- 46:04cool. So check these things out.
- 46:06I can provide links if anybody is curious after the show runs,
- 46:10maybe I'll put them in the description.
- 46:11But that is our show in a very manageable 46 minutes.
