- 0:00Speaker 1: Head to Chemist Warehouse and save more money every year
- 0:03Speaker 1: on your regular medication with discounted prescriptions in every store,
- 0:08Speaker 1: every day.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Hello, good morning, it's Mikey, Amy Gerard for Chemist Warehouse,
- 0:12Speaker 2: back for another week. Monday, how'd you go? Good weekend?
- 0:17Speaker 1: I had a great weekend actually. The last couple of
- 0:19Speaker 1: weekends have been really wholesome.
- 0:21Speaker 2: It's what you need when you're working hard, eh?
- 0:23Speaker 3: It is.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And I think the kids are really stoked with mummy
- 0:27Speaker 1: being around more often because normally I like to go
- 0:29Speaker 1: out with the girls on the weekend.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Yeah, just to avoid your kids altogether.
- 0:33Speaker 4: No, I don't.
- 0:33Speaker 5: Avoid them, but normally I'm at home a lot more, right?
- 0:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Oh, during the week, you mean?
- 0:38Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:38Speaker 1: So, I mean, I'm still home.
- 0:40Speaker 5: I'm just not home for an hour in the morning
- 0:42Speaker 5: when I wake up.
- 0:43Speaker 6: But, yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 1: No, it was really nice.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Took Ryan out for his birthday dinner.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Did you take him where I told you
- 0:50Speaker 2: to take him?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Well, you recommended a place and it was funny because
- 0:53Speaker 1: in the same day I'd spoken about, you know, us
- 0:56Speaker 1: going out for dinner and he brought that restaurant up.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Oh, he did?
- 1:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Okay, so I made a good recommendation.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Yep, so I locked us in.
- 1:03Speaker 2: How was it?
- 1:04Speaker 1: It was really good.
- 1:05Speaker 5: It was like an eight degustation thing.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Yeah, did you get through it all?
- 1:10Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, we got through all the food, yeah. We
- 1:11Speaker 1: got through all the wines as well.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh, you did matching.
- 1:14Speaker 1: We did paired wines.
- 1:15Speaker 2: So eight wines.
- 1:18Speaker 6: Oh!
- 1:20Speaker 2: Were they little or was it full?
- 1:21Speaker 1: They were definitely little, but also... I will say when
- 1:25Speaker 1: you go from like champagne to rosé to chardonnay to
- 1:31Speaker 1: Riesling to red to then dessert wine, you can imagine.
- 1:34Speaker 5: Like it actually was me and Ryan were both.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Like, slouched down in our chair. We would have looked
- 1:39Speaker 1: like a bunch of pissed idiots at this restaurant because
- 1:43Speaker 1: when you're mixing the different wines, you know.
- 1:46Speaker 2: You would have been hammered, man. Eight wines and when
- 1:48Speaker 2: you think about it, a dinner's like, what, an hour
- 1:50Speaker 2: and a half, two hours?
- 1:51Speaker 5: Oh, we were there for about two and a half hours.
- 1:53Speaker 1: There were small glasses, so I'd say there would have
- 1:57Speaker 1: been the equivalent of about four, but because it was
- 1:59Speaker 1: different wines, like the headache I had the next day was.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Not a good one.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Well, I hope he enjoyed it.
- 2:05Speaker 5: How was your weekend?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty wholesome too. I went to the beach a
- 2:08Speaker 2: few times. The weather was great.
- 2:10Speaker 5: I saw you rubbing sunscreen into your girlfriend's legs.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Oh, she put that up as a story, yeah.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Does she have no arms?
- 2:17Speaker 2: No, she's still got arms, I think.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Can't do her own sunscreen?
- 2:21Speaker 2: I'm just really sun safe. I got my umbrella there
- 2:24Speaker 2: and I was sitting under the umbrella and she was like, yeah,
- 2:27Speaker 2: that's not for me. She'd moved out into the sun.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Oh, an old daddy Mikey turned up.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Well, she does call me daddy.
- 2:35Speaker 6: Oh, yuck.
- 2:35Speaker 2: You know what I didn't want? I like her coming
- 2:37Speaker 2: to the beach with me. I didn't want her getting
- 2:39Speaker 2: horribly burnt and then avoiding.
- 2:42Speaker 1: She's quite pale.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 1: God, you're actually so sweet.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So I rubbed sunscreen into her.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you were all up around her thighs,
- 2:49Speaker 1: so I get why you did it.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah, not for the first time.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yuck, man.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Talking of sunburn, anyone seen our newsreader, Sean?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Bit of red.
- 2:58Speaker 2: He is looking red.
- 3:01Speaker 5: You also got a sweet haircut.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I should have been there rubbing sunscreen wherever you were, mate.
- 3:06Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 3:07Speaker 3: I was on a two-day box party.
- 3:08Speaker 2: That's right. You don't wear sunscreen on a box. The
- 3:12Speaker 2: boys will be like, oh, you're right, oh.
- 3:14Speaker 3: So we went on a pub crawl on the Friday.
- 3:16Speaker 1: How did you go on Friday?
- 3:17Speaker 7: Friday was just too hard. And then you wake up
- 3:20Speaker 7: on Saturday and you go, why are we going to
- 3:21Speaker 7: do this again? This is pathetic. And then we went
- 3:24Speaker 7: to the races. So I was in the sun all weekend.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Did you say.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You got on a boat?
- 3:28Speaker 8: No.
- 3:29Speaker 6: No, no.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Races.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Okay, wait. Did people go hard and get first night
- 3:35Speaker 1: fever and have a real belter on Friday?
- 3:37Speaker 4: Every one of us.
- 3:38Speaker 3: None of us were prepared for what Saturday had in store.
- 3:40Speaker 2: How did you go at the races then? Did you
- 3:42Speaker 2: still get back on the booze?
- 3:43Speaker 3: Yeah, you still got on the booze.
- 3:45Speaker 6: You got to.
- 3:45Speaker 3: It's the only way you can get through a day
- 3:46Speaker 3: or two.
- 3:47Speaker 1: My husband, before we got married, he booked himself a
- 3:50Speaker 1: Bucks weekend and it was for three days.
- 3:52Speaker 5: And I said, you're an idiot.
- 3:54Speaker 1: There's no way you can do three days.
- 3:55Speaker 2: And he's like, yeah.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And my brothers went up and my dad and his– anyway.
- 4:00Speaker 1: They all went out on the first night and had
- 4:02Speaker 1: an absolute belter.
- 4:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:03Speaker 1: He was in the fetal position for most of Saturday
- 4:07Speaker 1: and he came home early.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Oh, what a fairy.
- 4:10Speaker 1: What a fairy. Hey, I was like, that's like.
- 4:12Speaker 2: He came home early from his own box.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Came home a day early. I was like, dude,
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'm not even like a bloke, but surely that's against
- 4:21Speaker 1: the rule.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it is. It's illegal. Hey, so the new airport,
- 4:25Speaker 2: Western Sydney Airport, opened yesterday. What big fanfare.
- 4:30Speaker 3: It was a huge fanfare.
- 4:31Speaker 7: All the plane nerds were there and having a great time.
- 4:36Speaker 1: So are they... Flying international?
- 4:39Speaker 3: Today. That kicks off today.
- 4:41Speaker 7: So at around 8 o'clock, the first flight from New
- 4:43Speaker 7: Zealand is going to land.
- 4:45Speaker 3: So big day for Sydney.
- 4:46Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Whereabouts in Western Sydney is it?
- 4:49Speaker 2: It's near Badgerys Creek. Oh, yeah, cool. Yeah, we needed
- 4:51Speaker 2: a new one for a long time, and it's good
- 4:54Speaker 2: to have it there. Like if you live in the West,
- 4:56Speaker 2: getting to bloody mascots is a pain in the ass.
- 4:59Speaker 2: If you're near like Penrith, Campbelltown– Anywhere around that area.
- 5:02Speaker 1: So much closer.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, way easier. And I was reading in the
- 5:06Speaker 2: paper yesterday, they reckon this will force prices to come down.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So you're going to have Mascot Airport, you're going to
- 5:11Speaker 2: have Western Sydney Airport competing. It might mean that we
- 5:14Speaker 2: get lower prices. Lower flights. Lower flight prices. Yeah, if
- 5:17Speaker 2: you think about it, we've only had one airport, no competition.
- 5:21Speaker 2: The only way out has been through one airport.
- 5:23Speaker 3: So, yeah, it's good, man. That will be good.
- 5:25Speaker 7: We've also got today a strict biosecurity lockdown, which is
- 5:28Speaker 7: happening in the suburb of Enfield. So there's these fire ants,
- 5:31Speaker 7: this huge outbreak of fire ants. They're bringing ground teams in.
- 5:35Speaker 7: They've got drones. They've got sniffer dogs. They're trying to
- 5:37Speaker 7: get rid of them because they're actually one of the
- 5:40Speaker 7: world's worst invasive species, these fire ants.
- 5:42Speaker 4: And they're deadly.
- 5:43Speaker 5: If they bite your dogs or cats, they will die, right?
- 5:46Speaker 6: Really?
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it can be bad.
- 5:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 5: What about humans?
- 5:49Speaker 3: I'm sure there are cases of that.
- 5:50Speaker 5: They're not deadly, but probably quite painful.
- 5:53Speaker 1: My kid ran up from the bush yesterday screaming about
- 5:56Speaker 1: being bitten by a bull ant. I was like, no,
- 5:58Speaker 1: the fire ants are here.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I hope they're not that far. They're all up in
- 6:03Speaker 2: Queensland and northern New South Wales. I've heard to the
- 6:05Speaker 2: point where you can't go on a picnic. Like you
- 6:09Speaker 2: sit down on the grass and you're getting bitten by
- 6:11Speaker 2: the thing. So let's hope they can get rid of
- 6:12Speaker 2: them there in Enfield. And you got a story about Audi.
- 6:16Speaker 2: What's going on there?
- 6:17Speaker 7: Yeah, so they brought in this policy where they were
- 6:19Speaker 7: checking bags at the self-checkout. They've decided not to do
- 6:22Speaker 7: that anymore because... It was making everyone angry. The workers
- 6:27Speaker 7: and the people that were shopping. It was sort of
- 6:29Speaker 7: slowing things down.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So they were checking your bags when you did your
- 6:33Speaker 2: own checkout. They don't do that at Woolies and Coles,
- 6:35Speaker 2: do they?
- 6:35Speaker 1: Well, there's bloody cameras everywhere at Woolies and Coles now.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Sometimes I'll have a little basket and I will have
- 6:43Speaker 1: my car keys in the bottom of them and I'll
- 6:45Speaker 1: do all my shopping and then it will say, It'll
- 6:48Speaker 1: alert something, undetected thing, like I haven't put something in my,
- 6:52Speaker 1: and I can't even pay for my shopping. I have
- 6:55Speaker 1: to wait for somebody to come over and be like, hey,
- 6:56Speaker 1: it was just my keys in the basket.
- 6:58Speaker 2: And the AI cameras pick up what you got. I've noticed,
- 7:00Speaker 2: like I bought beetroot yesterday and it just goes, it
- 7:03Speaker 2: knows it's beetroot.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't put them through as a brown onion anymore.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that old trick of everything's a brown onion.
- 7:10Speaker 1: No, it doesn't.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Shrady versus lady and five seconds of summer tickets for you.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Let's get into it.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Good morning, Grace.
- 7:19Speaker 6: Hello.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Morning.
- 7:21Speaker 8: Good morning.
- 7:22Speaker 9: How are you guys going today?
- 7:24Speaker 3: Good.
- 7:25Speaker 1: So you are calling in from Bexley. You work in
- 7:28Speaker 1: medical sales. You're in a relationship with no kids. How
- 7:31Speaker 1: long have you been with your partner?
- 7:34Speaker 10: Since, okay, so met in February, but officially since April.
- 7:39Speaker 8: But still fresh.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Oh, so you're still in the honeymoon period. How fun
- 7:43Speaker 5: is that?
- 7:44Speaker 1: It's the nicest part about a relationship, I reckon.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah, before like your move in and all that kind
- 7:51Speaker 2: of stuff.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you're both putting in the effort and you're doing
- 7:53Speaker 1: date night and this and that and cooking for each
- 7:56Speaker 1: other and getting really excited to see one another. I mean,
- 7:59Speaker 1: does it sound like I've been married for 10 years
- 8:02Speaker 1: or what?
- 8:03Speaker 2: You're saying it's all downhill after that, Amy.
- 8:05Speaker 1: No, it's not. I had a really nice night with
- 8:07Speaker 1: my husband on Friday. I'm just saying the start of
- 8:09Speaker 1: a relationship is always the best.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Did you have sex?
- 8:12Speaker 1: Did I have sex?
- 8:13Speaker 2: When? Well, you said you took him out for his birthday.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You had an eight-course degustation and eight wines.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Listen.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Did you go home and fall asleep?
- 8:21Speaker 1: I am a smart woman. I knew I was locking
- 8:24Speaker 1: in for a lot of food and a lot of wine,
- 8:25Speaker 1: so I got it done before we went for dinner.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Oh.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And then you can just go home and go to sleep.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Good idea.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I hadn't even got out of the shower and Ryan
- 8:34Speaker 1: was already asleep. So, yeah, you're welcome, Ryan.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You're not doing– well, it can go either way, but
- 8:39Speaker 2: if you're full.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Nah, eight courses, no thanks. I rolled into that house.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Eight course, no intercourse.
- 8:47Speaker 1: All right, Gracie, you drive a Honda Jazz. And you
- 8:51Speaker 1: and your partner advertised for a new flatmate on Facebook.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And what happened?
- 8:55Speaker 8: Yes.
- 8:56Speaker 10: So a bit of a boo-boo, instead of doing a
- 8:59Speaker 10: whole flatmates account, I did Facebook marketplace. I was kind
- 9:02Speaker 10: of just, you know, testing the waters, doing all the accounts.
- 9:05Speaker 10: First red flag is she asks if she can move
- 9:09Speaker 10: in on an exact date before, like, coming in and
- 9:12Speaker 10: inspecting the apartment. And I was like, oh, that's convenient.
- 9:15Speaker 10: She's just going to move in straight away.
- 9:17Speaker 6: Perfect.
- 9:18Speaker 10: So lo and behold, the day comes. She literally has
- 9:22Speaker 10: an entire truck full. Like, pull up outside the apartment
- 9:26Speaker 10: and is, like, moving, I would say, half of Sydney
- 9:29Speaker 10: into this tiny two-bedder apartment. Like, she's moving so many items.
- 9:33Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 9:34Speaker 10: Air fryers, toasters, fruit bowls. She's got, like, four suitcase.
- 9:39Speaker 10: I'm like, WCS is going on because this is just
- 9:42Speaker 10: too many items. So that's probably something to note if
- 9:48Speaker 10: anyone's looking for a potential private. Make sure they inspect.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Yeah, because obviously she hadn't met you or seen the place,
- 9:54Speaker 1: but you also hadn't met her. So how long did
- 9:56Speaker 1: she stay for?
- 9:56Speaker 8: Oh, three weeks.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Did you have to kick her out or did she
- 10:01Speaker 1: realize that it was true?
- 10:02Speaker 8: Yes, I kicked her out.
- 10:03Speaker 10: I kicked her out.
- 10:04Speaker 2: What about all the shit?
- 10:05Speaker 1: How awkward was that conversation?
- 10:08Speaker 9: She, very awkward.
- 10:10Speaker 10: My partner actually said it was like a bit sexy
- 10:12Speaker 10: when I was sitting her down. She can't be here anymore.
- 10:17Speaker 10: But it was, it was just, On top of all
- 10:21Speaker 10: of her stuff, it was, like, issues with the neighbours.
- 10:24Speaker 10: She'd park her car outside their garages. So, basically, it
- 10:28Speaker 10: would block them in because she didn't understand, like, the
- 10:30Speaker 10: parking dynamics of, like, the apartment. It was just crazy.
- 10:34Speaker 2: It was crazy. Imagine being that person where.
- 10:36Speaker 1: So unaware.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and someone only wants you to live with them
- 10:40Speaker 2: for three weeks and then they throw you out. Like, yeah.
- 10:43Speaker 2: And you got all her stuff out?
- 10:44Speaker 11: Oh, for sure, yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Note to self, never request a roommate on our Facebook marketplace.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I wonder where she ended up. Like, you lived with her.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Do you think anyone can tolerate her?
- 10:58Speaker 9: No, she'd have to be by herself, I think.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Or homeless.
- 11:02Speaker 8: Or homeless.
- 11:03Speaker 2: You could have made her homeless.
- 11:05Speaker 1: No, don't put that on Grace. No, you're fine. All right, Grace,
- 11:09Speaker 1: weighing in at 60 kgs, it's Grace Book Marketplace.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Howard is our tradie. Hello, Howard.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Hey, Howard.
- 11:21Speaker 6: Good morning. I'm going for Grace.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Oh, why?
- 11:24Speaker 2: What, you don't like yourself?
- 11:25Speaker 3: Oh, she's cool.
- 11:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 2: You're in Marrickville, mate. You're a garbo.
- 11:31Speaker 6: Yes. Yeah, I'll pick up other people's weights.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Well, you don't have to.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Do it anymore, right? The truck does it, the big
- 11:40Speaker 5: claw thing.
- 11:41Speaker 6: No, we've still got the guys on the back. Do you? Yeah,
- 11:45Speaker 6: the streets are too tight for those machines, so you
- 11:48Speaker 6: still need the guys to get off and pull the bins.
- 11:51Speaker 5: You've got to be really fit to do that job,
- 11:53Speaker 5: don't you?
- 11:55Speaker 6: It helps, and also helps if you can... put up
- 11:58Speaker 6: with some of the smells some of the time.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 12:01Speaker 6: Yeah, you'd have to wear a hat. Especially coming into
- 12:02Speaker 6: summer and especially Christmas with that seafood and prawns.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Oh, but I just think about summer and I at
- 12:08Speaker 1: one point had three kids in nappies.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Mate, you've got a Volvo. You've had
- 12:16Speaker 2: a partner, but she won't marry you.
- 12:18Speaker 6: No, she won't.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Why?
- 12:22Speaker 6: I don't know. I'll send in a photo of me. No,
- 12:25Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 12:27Speaker 1: But she's been with you for 23 years, so she
- 12:30Speaker 1: obviously loves you.
- 12:30Speaker 6: I hope so. Yeah, no, so, yeah, well, I've tried.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Is she one of these people that just doesn't really
- 12:41Speaker 1: care for weddings? Like, I've got a friend who's been
- 12:42Speaker 1: with her partner for 19 years, and it's more him,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but he just hates, he hates, like, attention on him.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you could do it at the.
- 12:51Speaker 1: So he'd just be really, really shy.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Registry office or something. I mean, 20... 23 years. Was
- 12:55Speaker 2: she married before Howard?
- 12:57Speaker 3: No.
- 12:57Speaker 6: No?
- 12:58Speaker 3: No, no.
- 12:58Speaker 6: Oh, well.
- 12:59Speaker 1: No.
- 12:59Speaker 6: After 23 years. No, I don't think... I don't think
- 13:02Speaker 6: she doesn't... Like, she likes to party. Oh. She did
- 13:06Speaker 6: let it slip one day, though, that.
- 13:10Speaker 6: When she married me, I was a little bit different
- 13:12Speaker 6: looking to the way I am now. So maybe there's
- 13:15Speaker 6: a little bit of embarrassment factor coming on there for
- 13:18Speaker 6: the photos. It would have been good when we first met,
- 13:21Speaker 6: but maybe not now. Wow.
- 13:23Speaker 2: We really need to see that picture. Weighing in at
- 13:26Speaker 2: 110 kilos, he likes it, but he can't put a
- 13:28Speaker 2: ring on it. It's Howard. Amy's got your questions, Howard.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Here we go, mate.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:36Speaker 3: All right.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Good luck, bud.
- 13:38Speaker 1: What is a bobby pin?
- 13:41Speaker 6: What is a bobby pin? They use it for like
- 13:47Speaker 6: sewing and that kind of a thing to hold the fabric.
- 13:52Speaker 2: No.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I'm trying to think what you're thinking of. So a
- 13:55Speaker 1: bobby pin is used in like the hair. Females use
- 13:58Speaker 1: it to kind of pin back little bits of things.
- 14:00Speaker 1: It's a small wire.
- 14:01Speaker 2: They're bloody everywhere in your house.
- 14:03Speaker 5: I have about a thousand of them all around my bathroom.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I feel like they're breeding or something.
- 14:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 6: That's what I used to use to break into the houses,
- 14:12Speaker 6: is it?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Jesus.
- 14:14Speaker 6: The lock. I'm joking.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 14:17Speaker 6: You know how you always seem.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Alan's also a part-time criminal. Yes, but that's what you
- 14:23Speaker 1: can do to, like, unhook. Sometimes my bedroom door lock
- 14:27Speaker 1: locks me out, and you can use a bobby pin
- 14:29Speaker 1: to undo the lock. Gotcha, right, yep.
- 14:31Speaker 2: All right, mate.
- 14:32Speaker 1: All right, what is the spray used on oily hair
- 14:36Speaker 1: when you don't have any time to wash it to
- 14:38Speaker 1: make it clean?
- 14:40Speaker 2: What's that called?
- 14:42Speaker 6: Is it shampoo in a can?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Oh, it is.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Oh, what's it called? It's called something shampoo.
- 14:50Speaker 6: Oh, dry shampoo. Yay! You got one. Yeah, man.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Well done. Okay. What is a MUA?
- 15:01Speaker 6: It sounded like a contraceptive device.
- 15:09Speaker 11: An MUA.
- 15:10Speaker 6: MUA.
- 15:11Speaker 2: It's a job title.
- 15:12Speaker 6: It's a job. Yeah, it's a job.
- 15:13Speaker 2: It's a job title. Okay.
- 15:16Speaker 6: Okay. Managing something. No, you're out.
- 15:21Speaker 1: It's a makeup artist.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Good on you, Howard. You got one, mate. Let's go
- 15:25Speaker 2: on to Grace. Okay, Grace, ready to go?
- 15:28Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Name a car brand that starts with M.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Mazda.
- 15:34Speaker 11: Yay!
- 15:35Speaker 1: Well done.
- 15:36Speaker 2: All right, you got one. Now you could take it
- 15:39Speaker 2: out here. This is an ooh question. And for some reason,
- 15:44Speaker 2: as a dude, you always aim on it when it's there.
- 15:47Speaker 2: What is a urinal cake?
- 15:48Speaker 10: A urinal cake?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 10: Isn't it just where you pee into it?
- 15:58Speaker 2: Well, what does it do? What does a urinal cake do?
- 16:02Speaker 10: Oh, is it like to help guide the pee?
- 16:03Speaker 2: No, it doesn't guide it.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Guide the pee.
- 16:06Speaker 2: You just wee on it because it's something to aim at.
- 16:08Speaker 2: But no, they have them in urinals to reduce odours
- 16:11Speaker 2: and sanitise it.
- 16:12Speaker 5: Yes, because you smelly boys.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Are you girls jealous that you don't get to use urinals?
- 16:18Speaker 3: Not at all.
- 16:19Speaker 1: No? Why would I want to stand up and pee?
- 16:21Speaker 2: They should have female urinals.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Mine would go everywhere.
- 16:25Speaker 5: I don't think I've got good enough aim.
- 16:28Speaker 2: All right, one more here. What sport is the show
- 16:33Speaker 2: Drive to survive about? What sport?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Driving?
- 16:40Speaker 6: No.
- 16:41Speaker 2: That is not a sport. Formula One. You know what?
- 16:44Speaker 2: Driving is a sport. Driving is not a sport. What
- 16:47Speaker 2: do you do?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Driving cars.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Like race car driving? No, it's not. It's about Formula One. Okay.
- 16:52Speaker 2: We have a tiebreaker.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Just yell out the answer.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Okay.
- 16:57Speaker 1: To the nearest million.
- 17:00Speaker 5: What is the population of Sydney?
- 17:06Speaker 2: Howard, Grace.
- 17:07Speaker 9: Hello?
- 17:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yell out the answer if you know it.
- 17:10Speaker 5: Nearest million population.
- 17:12Speaker 10: 23 million?
- 17:13Speaker 1: Sydney, just Sydney, doll.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Six.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Oh, my God. He got it, six, yep. We have
- 17:19Speaker 2: six million people listening, right?
- 17:21Speaker 3: Yeah, the boys.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Do you know how to radio stations? And Mikey, Amy,
- 17:27Speaker 2: Gerard here.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Morning.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Morning. So Vodafone has released data showing that the longest
- 17:32Speaker 1: phone call their customer has ever had, and it's going
- 17:35Speaker 1: to blow your mind. So every single call in the
- 17:38Speaker 1: top 10 lasted over three days.
- 17:42Speaker 2: A three-day conversation.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Right.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And so, I mean, I talk.
- 17:45Speaker 5: To my girlfriends.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Like my girlfriend was in Bali and I had a
- 17:47Speaker 1: big chat with her, my best mate, and I hadn't
- 17:49Speaker 1: spoken to her for a week.
- 17:50Speaker 5: So I spent a good two hours on the phone
- 17:52Speaker 5: to her.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Oh, punish.
- 17:54Speaker 1: No, not at all. But three days. Now, the longest
- 17:58Speaker 1: call of the year so far took place on the
- 18:01Speaker 1: 29th of March.
- 18:02Speaker 5: It came from Perth and it lasted 210 hours, a.k.a.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Eight days and 18 hours. Now- I have no idea
- 18:14Speaker 1: what anybody is talking about for that long. The only
- 18:18Speaker 1: thing I can think. is that maybe it's a couple
- 18:21Speaker 1: doing long distance.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Oh, and they had to stay on the phone.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And they've gone, let's just never hang up.
- 18:28Speaker 2: No, you hang up.
- 18:29Speaker 1: No, you hang up. So, you know, some couples are
- 18:31Speaker 1: like just– I remember being in high school once and
- 18:35Speaker 1: I had a boyfriend and he had gone to like
- 18:39Speaker 1: Terrigal or something with his family.
- 18:41Speaker 2: So far away.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yeah, so far away. And he was like, let's just
- 18:46Speaker 1: stay on the phone. And so it sounds like we're
- 18:48Speaker 1: sleeping next to each other.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I do remember those like high school ones with the
- 18:52Speaker 2: landline sitting up in my room talking to the girlfriend
- 18:55Speaker 2: for like hours. But I don't want to talk to
- 18:57Speaker 2: anyone now.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you're permanently on D & D.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Well, I just don't want to do phone calls. I mean, obviously,
- 19:03Speaker 2: but I couldn't have an eight-hour. Maybe it was an
- 19:07Speaker 2: Uber driver. What's the deal with getting in there and
- 19:09Speaker 2: they're always on the phone?
- 19:10Speaker 3: Always on the phone.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Who are you talking to?
- 19:12Speaker 1: My favourite is when they're... You think they're sitting in silence,
- 19:15Speaker 1: then all of a sudden they're like.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 1: And they like whisper so loud.
- 19:19Speaker 6: And I'm like, oh.
- 19:20Speaker 5: And he's like, oh, sorry, I'm on the phone. And
- 19:22Speaker 5: I was like, oh, no.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Why?
- 19:25Speaker 1: You're not even talking.
- 19:26Speaker 2: No, and I imagine, like, who are you talking to,
- 19:29Speaker 2: Uber drivers? 131065, what is there to chat about all day?
- 19:35Speaker 2: Eight days in a row. I reckon it was an
- 19:36Speaker 2: Uber driver.
- 19:37Speaker 6: Eight days.
- 19:38Speaker 2: He was doing overtime. That's what it was.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Well, no one in Sydney is making that phone calls
- 19:41Speaker 1: that long. The longest was 85 hours.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Oh, here in Sydney?
- 19:44Speaker 4: 85 hours.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Do you reckon someone's forgotten to hang up the phone?
- 19:49Speaker 2: It could be that. Look, I think it's either the
- 19:51Speaker 2: Uber driver speaking to someone back at home, the I
- 19:55Speaker 2: like your couple idea.
- 19:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It's like we're going to stay on the whole time. Or, yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 2: but you would have had to both forget to hang up.
- 20:02Speaker 1: You know why it's happening now? Because they don't charge you.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Remember back in the day, like you used to get charged,
- 20:08Speaker 1: I think was it per minute you were on the phone?
- 20:10Speaker 6: Yes.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I used to like call my mum and be like,
- 20:12Speaker 5: call me back.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Oh, the 1-800 reverse? I used to do that as well. Yeah,
- 20:16Speaker 2: because you could get that quick bit in.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Right, you know, it was a recorded message. My mum
- 20:20Speaker 2: at the station picked me up.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Whereas now, you can sit on the phone for eight
- 20:25Speaker 1: hours and it's going to cost.
- 20:26Speaker 6: You no different.
- 20:26Speaker 2: But why would you, Amy? I still can't believe you're
- 20:28Speaker 2: talking to your girlfriend for two hours.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I'm a caller.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I'm a caller.
- 20:32Speaker 1: I'm not a texter.
- 20:33Speaker 2: What are you chatting about for two hours? I reckon
- 20:35Speaker 2: I could do a 20-minute conversation. That's about the limit.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I chat with my girlfriend who is– this is the
- 20:41Speaker 1: one in Bali– every single day, multiple times a day.
- 20:44Speaker 1: My husband's like– How?
- 20:46Speaker 5: And she's been my best friend since we were 14.
- 20:48Speaker 2: What are you chatting about?
- 20:49Speaker 5: Anything and everything. The kids, work, life, our period, hormones, everything.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Don't you want to just hang up or are you
- 20:56Speaker 2: enjoying it?
- 20:57Speaker 3: Never.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 20:58Speaker 5: And also, if I do want to hang up, she
- 21:00Speaker 5: just goes, hey, I've got to go. And I was like,
- 21:01Speaker 5: I'll call you later.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Oh, and then you do talk later.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm never called later.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Are you with me, Sean? You don't call your mates, eh?
- 21:06Speaker 1: Yeah, guys don't.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I always think when a mate calls me, something's wrong.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Who died?
- 21:11Speaker 3: Yeah. All right.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Yeah, first calls, 131065 to get on air and have
- 21:15Speaker 2: a chat. Here's Andrew.
- 21:17Speaker 6: Good morning. How are you?
- 21:18Speaker 2: We're good, mate. What do you want to chat about today?
- 21:22Speaker 6: Mate, we're going to talk about the airport.
- 21:23Speaker 11: I think that's what we're talking about. Western Sydney Airport,
- 21:27Speaker 11: the new airport. All fun and games there.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Have you already taken a flight out of there?
- 21:33Speaker 3: I did.
- 21:34Speaker 11: I flew up yesterday on the first flight up to
- 21:36Speaker 11: the Gold Coast and then was straight back an hour later.
- 21:40Speaker 1: So have you been really excited about this? Are you
- 21:43Speaker 1: a bit of a plane nerd? Have you been super
- 21:44Speaker 1: excited about this new airport opening?
- 21:47Speaker 11: Yeah, look, I'm a massive nerd. I'm a massive aviation nerd.
- 21:51Speaker 11: It's one of those things you just get excited about.
- 21:53Speaker 6: And look, I fly a lot for work as well.
- 21:55Speaker 11: So to be able to actually go and experience it,
- 21:57Speaker 11: it was surreal.
- 21:58Speaker 1: And how was it?
- 22:00Speaker 6: Look, really good.
- 22:01Speaker 11: Really nice airport. You know, great, great, great facilities. Look,
- 22:06Speaker 11: it's a long way out. That's obviously something that's going
- 22:08Speaker 11: to take a lot of time.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Where are you, mate? Where do you live?
- 22:11Speaker 5: He lives at Parramatta.
- 22:12Speaker 6: I live in... I do.
- 22:13Speaker 11: I live in North Parramatta, so I'm sort of halfway between.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Yeah, because I'm trying to work out what it is.
- 22:18Speaker 2: It'd probably still be quicker for you to go to
- 22:20Speaker 2: Mascot with all the M8 tunnels and stuff, right?
- 22:22Speaker 6: It is.
- 22:23Speaker 11: I actually went to Mascot this morning and it was quicker.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Okay, but give us, so the new airport, I saw
- 22:30Speaker 2: on telly, it looks like they've designed it to make
- 22:32Speaker 2: it look really spacious and clean. Does it look good
- 22:35Speaker 2: when you're in there?
- 22:36Speaker 11: Oh, it feels fantastic. You feel like you're in a modern... Yeah,
- 22:40Speaker 11: you can see the Blue Mountains. It's brilliant.
- 22:43Speaker 9: It's fantastic.
- 22:43Speaker 11: And it's really easy to travel through as well, which
- 22:45Speaker 11: is great.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and then tell us the first flight. Did they
- 22:48Speaker 2: make a big hoo-ha out of it? It would have
- 22:50Speaker 2: been your ordinary flight.
- 22:52Speaker 6: No, it wasn't.
- 22:54Speaker 11: It was like you were being focused on by so
- 22:57Speaker 11: many people. A lot of Western Sydney residents just flocked
- 23:00Speaker 11: to the airport and were there watching, cheering. There were
- 23:03Speaker 11: a lot of dignitaries there on the flight out, but
- 23:06Speaker 11: there was actually the flight back in that seemed to get.
- 23:08Speaker 6: A lot of attention.
- 23:09Speaker 11: There were hundreds of people in the arrivals area when
- 23:13Speaker 11: you came back and just cheered.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Congratulations for being on a plane.
- 23:21Speaker 11: You landed.
- 23:22Speaker 6: It was surreal.
- 23:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Were most people on that flight that you were on
- 23:27Speaker 1: just literally aviation nerds that just wanted to take a
- 23:30Speaker 1: flight to the Gold Coast and back?
- 23:33Speaker 11: Yeah, I think there probably would have been about 50%
- 23:35Speaker 11: of people on that flight probably would have gone up
- 23:38Speaker 11: and back. There were some people who'd managed to just,
- 23:40Speaker 11: you know, who either lived in Western Sydney and flew
- 23:42Speaker 11: up to the Gold Coast and stayed.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Or vice versa.
- 23:45Speaker 11: But yeah, a lot of people just aviation nerds wanting
- 23:47Speaker 11: to say, yes, I've flown out of Western Sydney. Yes,
- 23:50Speaker 11: I was on my first flight.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Well, good on you, man. You'll be able to tell
- 23:52Speaker 2: your grandchildren that you were on the first flight.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:56Speaker 5: How cool.
- 23:56Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 23:57Speaker 11: And that's one of those things. There was a three-month-old
- 23:59Speaker 11: baby who was on that flight. And I'm like, I
- 24:01Speaker 11: was thinking about looking at that baby and thinking, yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 11: imagine them telling their kids 80 years from now.
- 24:07Speaker 6: Yeah. That's pretty cool.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Thanks, Andrew. Thanks for calling in, man. Have a good one.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Thanks, Andrew.
- 24:12Speaker 6: Cheers, guys.
- 24:12Speaker 11: Thank you.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Bye.
- 24:13Speaker 2: All right, you've been going through the mum's group chat again.
- 24:15Speaker 1: You know I like to bring you the juicy mum's
- 24:17Speaker 1: group chat, and oh my gosh, when I read this
- 24:21Speaker 1: message in the WhatsApp group chat, I wanted to die
- 24:25Speaker 1: for this mum. It's so not okay. But please, get
- 24:31Speaker 1: ready to call in on 131065 because I want your
- 24:35Speaker 1: thoughts and opinions.
- 24:37Speaker 2: How bad is this?
- 24:38Speaker 1: Well, it's just bad. protocol that you don't do this.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Kind of stuff, right? All right, get ready to call in.
- 24:45Speaker 2: What have we got?
- 24:47Speaker 5: This mum, okay, so she wrote, I really put my
- 24:50Speaker 5: foot in it, girls.
- 24:50Speaker 1: I was out on the weekend with some other mums
- 24:53Speaker 1: having a few wines and we were watching the kids play.
- 24:55Speaker 1: My daughter is best friends with another little girl, Lucy.
- 24:57Speaker 1: They're basically the same age, love playing together. Now, Lucy
- 25:01Speaker 1: is a beautiful girl, but she does have a very
- 25:04Speaker 1: strong set of eyebrows on her.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:08Speaker 12: Oh.
- 25:08Speaker 6: Oh. Oh.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I cannot.
- 25:30Speaker 2: About her daughter.
- 25:34Speaker 1: About somebody else's daughter.
- 25:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 3: To the mum. Yeah.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I mean, that's funny, but what is she thinking? You're
- 25:41Speaker 2: basically going, your kid's ugly.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Well, I just don't. I don't know what this mum
- 25:46Speaker 1: is thinking. You can say that about your own kid.
- 25:49Speaker 1: No worries, right?
- 25:49Speaker 2: Yeah, to your husband or something.
- 25:52Speaker 1: You cannot comment on another child's appearance. Just full stop.
- 25:57Speaker 6: Nah.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Anyway, shock horror. Lucy's mum did not appreciate the joke.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Her face dropped. She got really mad at me, took
- 26:05Speaker 1: Lucy and went home.
- 26:06Speaker 6: Oh.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Got a text from her yesterday saying that she was
- 26:08Speaker 1: really upset with me and that my daughter had been
- 26:10Speaker 1: uninvited from.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Lucy's birthday party in a couple of weeks.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Oh, come on.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I really, really regret the joke. I wish I'd never
- 26:17Speaker 1: said it. I text her back apologising, but she hasn't
- 26:19Speaker 1: replied and won't take my calls. I feel like an
- 26:21Speaker 1: absolute idiot. My daughter will be devastated when she realises
- 26:25Speaker 1: that she can't go to her best friend's party and
- 26:26Speaker 1: it's all because of me. I don't mind if Lucy's
- 26:29Speaker 1: mum stays mad at me, but I really don't want
- 26:31Speaker 1: this to affect the girl's What do I do?
- 26:34Speaker 2: Well, first of all, yeah, I guess she did the
- 26:36Speaker 2: wrong thing, had a few too many wines. But that
- 26:40Speaker 2: other mum, Lucy's mum?
- 26:42Speaker 5: Yeah, Lucy's mum, yeah.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Is overreacting. You don't need to punish the girls.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but the thing is, when they're young, she obviously
- 26:50Speaker 1: doesn't want to see this other mum, right?
- 26:51Speaker 6: Right.
- 26:52Speaker 1: So you... Whilst, yeah, you don't want it to affect
- 26:56Speaker 1: the girl's friendship, when they're so young, of course it's
- 27:01Speaker 1: going to because the girls aren't hanging out on their own.
- 27:03Speaker 2: So you're back and loose's mum here?
- 27:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Like if somebody made a really horrible comment about my
- 27:10Speaker 1: kid's appearance, I wouldn't be friends with that person again.
- 27:15Speaker 8: Right.
- 27:15Speaker 2: And you would not let your kid play with their kid?
- 27:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Okay. 131065, what do you think?
- 27:20Speaker 1: If my kid was being a little turd? And she said, oh,
- 27:24Speaker 1: you know, I don't know, pulled up his behavior or something.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Fair play. Yeah. But when it comes down to a
- 27:30Speaker 1: child's appearance, no woman or man or anyone should ever
- 27:35Speaker 1: be making comment or passing judgment on what another child
- 27:38Speaker 1: looks like.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Oh, totally.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Even when you're 25 Prosecco's deep, it is not okay.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Okay, so what do you think should happen here? What
- 27:46Speaker 2: should she do? Has she done everything she can do and.
- 27:49Speaker 6: Just move on?
- 27:49Speaker 1: I think this mum needs to obviously apologise, which it
- 27:52Speaker 1: sounds like she has done, but she just needs to
- 27:55Speaker 1: know that she's obviously ruined that kind of relationship. So
- 27:58Speaker 1: move on?
- 27:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Nothing she can do to make it better?
- 28:01Speaker 1: The other mum, Lucy's mum, just needs some time now.
- 28:05Speaker 2: You reckon she'll come back?
- 28:06Speaker 1: Potentially.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Okay, 131065. What should this mum do? Call in. Maybe
- 28:12Speaker 2: you've had something similar where like another parent made fun
- 28:15Speaker 2: of your kid. And what did you do? Did you
- 28:19Speaker 2: end up hating them?
- 28:20Speaker 5: Did you throw an uppercut?
- 28:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Did you forgive them?
- 28:23Speaker 8: Right?
- 28:23Speaker 1: Some people get their back up like, More aggressively than
- 28:27Speaker 1: Lucy's mum.
- 28:27Speaker 2: 131065, what should this mum do? Give us a call.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Here's your opinions on 131065. Flo Rida playing right now.
- 28:38Speaker 2: 20 past seven.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Kiss.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah, so I've picked up on a message that was
- 28:45Speaker 1: sent into the mums group chat and this mum has
- 28:49Speaker 1: made passing judgement, I guess you could say, over another
- 28:55Speaker 1: little girl's looks.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Her monobrow.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Her big eyebrows.
- 28:59Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 28:59Speaker 5: She referred to her as Borat.
- 29:01Speaker 2: To the mum.
- 29:03Speaker 1: To the mum, you idiot.
- 29:05Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Think it in your head or whatever. So she's made
- 29:09Speaker 1: a comment about the little girl's eyebrows and... The mum
- 29:13Speaker 1: has obviously taken the kid and left and now basically
- 29:16Speaker 1: has wiped her and said she doesn't want anything to
- 29:19Speaker 1: do with said mum or her daughter.
- 29:21Speaker 2: And she's tried apologising.
- 29:23Speaker 1: She has apologised. And like Sean was saying this as well,
- 29:29Speaker 1: like I'm a forgiving person. I forgive very easily as well.
- 29:33Speaker 1: But it's hard when it's your kids.
- 29:37Speaker 3: I just feel like I'm the same. You know, I.
- 29:40Speaker 7: give people a second chance, but when it comes to
- 29:42Speaker 7: someone saying something about your kids, stuff them, and I
- 29:45Speaker 7: don't think I'd be able to come back from that.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Right, 131065, so it's Lucy's the little girl, yeah? So
- 29:51Speaker 2: it's Lucy's mum, right?
- 29:53Speaker 1: Yeah, so Lucy's mum has got the shits.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Should Lucy's mum get over it? Is the question. Well,
- 30:00Speaker 2: the mum's apologised. Is it time to just get over it?
- 30:04Speaker 2: Or has she got a right to just wipe that
- 30:06Speaker 2: other mum forever?
- 30:06Speaker 1: Well, I guess it depends how deep their friendship is
- 30:09Speaker 1: to start with.
- 30:09Speaker 2: But, yeah. All right, Bec's in Prospect.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Hi, Bec.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 30:12Speaker 6: Hey, Bec.
- 30:13Speaker 12: Good morning. How are we?
- 30:15Speaker 6: Good.
- 30:15Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 30:17Speaker 12: So I've actually, well, my family has been in the
- 30:20Speaker 12: offended seat before.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:23Speaker 12: So, yeah, my son, sorry, a father had mentioned to
- 30:27Speaker 12: my husband about my son's weight and suggested things that
- 30:31Speaker 12: we could do to assist with losing the weight.
- 30:34Speaker 6: Oh.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yep.
- 30:36Speaker 12: Yeah, my husband got very offended. There was the son's
- 30:40Speaker 12: birthday party coming up, so I took him to the party.
- 30:44Speaker 12: It's not fair for the children.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:46Speaker 12: Father, husband was offended, so I took him. I still
- 30:50Speaker 12: had a bit of, you know, animosity against it, but
- 30:54Speaker 12: it's not fair on the kids.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so you're saying Lucy's mum should still let the
- 30:58Speaker 1: little girl go and that maybe the dad could take her.
- 31:01Speaker 12: Correct.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I actually don't mind that. I think that's... You're right,
- 31:06Speaker 1: because why should the children miss out on, you know,
- 31:09Speaker 1: what could be a really beautiful friendship?
- 31:10Speaker 5: Because my mum's just said something silly.
- 31:13Speaker 2: After a few Proseccos, right?
- 31:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the thing.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Don't take it out on the kids. Sonia's in Campbelltown. Hello,
- 31:19Speaker 2: good morning.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Hey, Sonia.
- 31:20Speaker 12: Hi, how are you?
- 31:22Speaker 2: Good, what are you thinking?
- 31:24Speaker 13: I think the mother should not have said anything. I
- 31:27Speaker 13: think it's inappropriate. I think in the society that we
- 31:31Speaker 13: live in, we're carrying unhealthy labels for young girls and
- 31:36Speaker 13: how they should appear. Unfortunately, I feel sorry for the
- 31:40Speaker 13: young children because they will actually suffer from this. And
- 31:44Speaker 13: I do believe the young girls shouldn't miss out because,
- 31:48Speaker 13: as she said, it is her best friend. So I
- 31:51Speaker 13: think it's going to really impact her emotionally. if she
- 31:53Speaker 13: does miss out.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and also you can imagine Lucy being like, where's
- 31:57Speaker 1: my mate? Why hasn't she come? You can imagine how
- 32:00Speaker 1: upsetting that would be for the little girl Lucy.
- 32:02Speaker 2: So the mums apologise to Lucy's mum.
- 32:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Lucy's mum could still not want to be friends with
- 32:08Speaker 2: that woman but can still let the kids interact.
- 32:10Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 32:10Speaker 6: Yeah, they can.
- 32:11Speaker 2: You don't have to be close, right?
- 32:12Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe get the dad to bring him.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yeah, like the first caller. Yeah, yeah. Alicia, you're in Kemp's.
- 32:18Speaker 11: Creek, all right.
- 32:18Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 32:20Speaker 9: Hey, so I've kind of actually been in the exact
- 32:22Speaker 9: same situation before. A friend of mine, when her son
- 32:26Speaker 9: was born, he was very fucking hairy.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:30Speaker 9: And it's just kind of come out like words on me.
- 32:31Speaker 9: I'm like, holy shit, it's amazing how hairy kids can
- 32:34Speaker 9: be nowadays. And I didn't even know I was saying it.
- 32:37Speaker 6: Oh.
- 32:38Speaker 2: You offended that mom, Alicia?
- 32:41Speaker 1: Did you offend the mom?
- 32:42Speaker 8: Oh, I did.
- 32:43Speaker 9: We haven't spoken in nine years because of it.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 32:48Speaker 1: I think maybe the mum must have been– because, I mean,
- 32:51Speaker 1: babies do come out. Even, like, Anglo-Saxon white babies, they
- 32:56Speaker 1: come out with a lot of hair. Sometimes they've got
- 32:58Speaker 1: the hair all over the forehead and everything like this, but– Yeah,
- 33:02Speaker 1: obviously the mum's taken offence to it.
- 33:05Speaker 9: His father was Maltese, so it makes sense.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Oh, okay, yeah. So you ruined that friendship, Alicia.
- 33:10Speaker 9: Wow, nine years.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Did you try apologising or were you just like.
- 33:14Speaker 11: I did.
- 33:15Speaker 9: No, I really did. I said, I'm really sorry. And
- 33:17Speaker 9: then she's like, look, I don't care. You offended my son.
- 33:20Speaker 9: And I'm like, fine, stick it then.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Well, not really. He doesn't know, does he? I mean, God.
- 33:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Some people take it so seriously. All right, Anna's in Roselands.
- 33:29Speaker 6: Hello.
- 33:30Speaker 9: Hi, how are you going?
- 33:32Speaker 1: Good.
- 33:32Speaker 2: What's your opinion here?
- 33:34Speaker 8: Well, when my daughter was five, she was starting school,
- 33:38Speaker 8: she had a bit of a monobrow.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:41Speaker 8: And I honestly didn't want her to get T, so.
- 33:43Speaker 6: I actually plucked it. Yes. You know, like, I didn't
- 33:48Speaker 6: want her to experience, like, um, You know, bullying.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 33:52Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Is it gone now? Oh, yeah, no, no.
- 33:56Speaker 8: She's sweet now. Yeah. She's 30.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Are you saying this is a bit of a wake-up
- 34:01Speaker 2: call to Lucy's mum? Maybe she should be plucking the
- 34:03Speaker 2: daughter's monobrow.
- 34:05Speaker 6: Well.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Why not? Yeah, and kids can be really mean as well.
- 34:08Speaker 2: You always think.
- 34:09Speaker 1: I've got a girlfriend and she's South African.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Careful here. You might lose a friendship.
- 34:16Speaker 1: No, no. And her daughter had a little bit of
- 34:19Speaker 1: a monobrow as well. And before she started school, she
- 34:22Speaker 1: just did some little veet waxing because she was like,
- 34:26Speaker 1: I don't want her to go to school and get
- 34:28Speaker 1: teased for, you know. So I don't think there's anything
- 34:30Speaker 1: wrong with that at all.
- 34:32Speaker 8: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So I think it's good what you did. You kind
- 34:36Speaker 1: of looked out for your daughter there, Anna.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Okay, but it's still not good what the other mum.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Did to her.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Yeah, the other mum should have been a bit more mature.
- 34:45Speaker 5: Let's be honest.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well, there we go. Two women fighting. What a shock.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Mikey doesn't understand it because you don't have children, so.
- 34:53Speaker 2: No, I've just never heard of such thing as.
- 34:56Speaker 1: As what?
- 34:57Speaker 2: Women not getting along. It's mental. Crazy. Oh, yeah, Big
- 35:00Speaker 2: Brother back tonight. It's returning 7.30 on 10. The OG narrator,
- 35:07Speaker 2: Mike Goldman. We know his voice. He's joining us live.
- 35:10Speaker 11: Hello, mate.
- 35:11Speaker 7: Rock and roll, baby.
- 35:12Speaker 2: I'm the OG.
- 35:13Speaker 6: You had to be here. I sound like a rapper.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you do. You were there at the very beginning though, right?
- 35:19Speaker 14: The very beginning. And apparently it was amazing, they tell me.
- 35:23Speaker 14: Don't remember a lot.
- 35:24Speaker 4: Wait, 2001, right?
- 35:26Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 35:27Speaker 14: 2001, the longest running reality TV show in history.
- 35:32Speaker 2: And the first season, is that all like the Sarah
- 35:35Speaker 2: Marie and the bum dance and all that kind of stuff?
- 35:37Speaker 6: Oh, yes, yes.
- 35:38Speaker 14: The winner was Ben. You know, we had Pete, Sarah Marie,
- 35:41Speaker 14: all sorts of crazy stuff going on. The wonder years
- 35:44Speaker 14: of Big Brother.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Did you know it was going to be such a
- 35:46Speaker 2: big hit when you signed on to do it?
- 35:49Speaker 14: No, I had no idea. I'm thinking, okay, well, this
- 35:51Speaker 14: is going to be a big show. It's huge in
- 35:52Speaker 14: the UK. I'll audition for it on cassette tape. And
- 35:58Speaker 14: I got the gig. And when it started, all these
- 36:01Speaker 14: people were messaging me because there's such hype around it going,
- 36:03Speaker 14: what the hell is this crap? Because it was different television.
- 36:08Speaker 14: It was just had this breathing space where you actually
- 36:10Speaker 14: be drawn in to figure out what these people are
- 36:13Speaker 14: doing because it's It's unscripted, hence the term reality.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:17Speaker 1: So the Big Brother house is in Brisbane this year, right?
- 36:21Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 36:21Speaker 14: The home of Bluey, the Story Bridge, the Muppets, 50
- 36:26Speaker 14: Cent Fares.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:27Speaker 1: What's new about this house? Is there anything new?
- 36:29Speaker 5: Any trap doors or anything?
- 36:31Speaker 8: No.
- 36:32Speaker 14: I absolutely, 100%, there'll be trap doors, there'll be hidden rooms,
- 36:37Speaker 14: hidden food. It's probably getting mouldy by now. All sorts
- 36:41Speaker 14: of secrets. Apparently, I've seen in the ads, because Big
- 36:43Speaker 14: Brother keeps his cards close to his chest, there is
- 36:46Speaker 14: a secret button. What happens if you push the button?
- 36:48Speaker 6: Do you get evicted?
- 36:49Speaker 14: Do you get a million dollars? Do you get a car?
- 36:50Speaker 6: What happens?
- 36:51Speaker 2: Super fun. Happy slide, hopefully.
- 36:53Speaker 1: And what do you win? What does the winner win
- 36:56Speaker 1: on Big Brother? It's a decent prize, isn't it?
- 36:58Speaker 2: A couple of hundred Ks?
- 37:00Speaker 14: It's always been, since Series 1, some big cha-ching.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:04Speaker 14: And a few other random prizes over the years Big
- 37:07Speaker 14: Brother's pulled out. He's given away holidays and mobile phones
- 37:10Speaker 14: and cars.
- 37:10Speaker 5: Oh, he's so generous, Big Brother.
- 37:13Speaker 6: Yes, he is. He's a good guy.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Do you have a famous, a favourite year that you
- 37:18Speaker 1: did it? Like one that's kind of stood out or?
- 37:21Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely.
- 37:22Speaker 14: It was the year where I decided every cent that
- 37:25Speaker 14: I earned on the show I was just going to spend.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Sounds good. That sounds like a good year.
- 37:29Speaker 14: I've got a penthouse on the Gold Coast. We're having parties.
- 37:32Speaker 14: I hired the Potbellys to DJ.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 37:35Speaker 14: I get what you're saying. I think Reggie's year was hilarious.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Oh, Reggie, yes.
- 37:41Speaker 6: Yes.
- 37:42Speaker 14: And she's been a big brother a couple of times.
- 37:43Speaker 14: She's a massive part of the big brother family. And
- 37:46Speaker 14: one of my most memorable moments with her was when
- 37:48Speaker 14: she won $ 250, 000 and she took the check off Gretel Colleen.
- 37:52Speaker 14: She said, yeah, thanks. And then they gave her a
- 37:55Speaker 14: Sony PlayStation. She jumped up and down with excitement.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Ha!
- 37:58Speaker 2: I'm more excited about a PlayStation. Hey, will we ever
- 38:01Speaker 2: see you as a contestant, Mike Goldman?
- 38:04Speaker 14: I have been into the house once or twice to
- 38:06Speaker 14: narrate live the housemates for different tasks.
- 38:09Speaker 2: That's funny.
- 38:09Speaker 14: But I don't know. I wouldn't last very long in
- 38:11Speaker 14: the house. You know, after the first hour, I'd be
- 38:14Speaker 14: eating everyone's food.
- 38:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:16Speaker 4: I'm a bit grubby.
- 38:17Speaker 14: I don't make my bed first thing in the morning.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Ask my wife.
- 38:19Speaker 14: She'd be like, no one would have you. You'd be
- 38:22Speaker 14: voted off within seconds.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Now, last year, they had the element of the 24-hour
- 38:26Speaker 2: live stream. Our producer, Chelsea, you were addicted to that.
- 38:30Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 38:30Speaker 1: I quite literally spent every waking moment watching this live stream.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I would wake up in the middle of the night
- 38:36Speaker 1: and I couldn't sleep and I would just watch them sleep.
- 38:38Speaker 2: Are we doing that again?
- 38:39Speaker 1: Oh my God, Chelsea.
- 38:40Speaker 14: Yeah, absolutely. What's great about that is, I mean, I
- 38:43Speaker 14: used to host a show years ago called Big Brother
- 38:44Speaker 14: Up Late. It was three hours late at night and
- 38:47Speaker 14: you could catch up with whatever's been going on in
- 38:49Speaker 14: the house. But I would explain what had been happening
- 38:53Speaker 14: so people knew what they were talking about. But now
- 38:54Speaker 14: you've literally got thousands of people online watching who can go, oh, okay,
- 38:58Speaker 14: this is Brian and Susie who are falling in love
- 39:00Speaker 14: or this is Suzanne and Christopher who are having a
- 39:03Speaker 14: fight about whether or not the Olympics should be in
- 39:05Speaker 14: Brisbane or whatever it is.
- 39:07Speaker 2: And do you censor anything or you just keep it
- 39:10Speaker 2: all in?
- 39:11Speaker 14: A big brother has his finger on the button because
- 39:14Speaker 14: some little secrets he wants to save for the daily
- 39:17Speaker 14: show update for everyone to hear about. And obviously, you know,
- 39:20Speaker 14: we've got the housemates, you know, we've got to worry
- 39:23Speaker 14: about them and make sure that they're protected.
- 39:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:25Speaker 1: And so obviously you've met all the contestants, Mike. Do
- 39:27Speaker 1: you reckon there's going to be? Oh, you haven't yet?
- 39:29Speaker 14: No, no, I'm not allowed to meet them. I'm not
- 39:32Speaker 14: that important. I'm the voiceover guy and the crowd warm
- 39:35Speaker 14: up sometimes on camera. I swan in and swan out
- 39:38Speaker 14: and they'd say, keep away from that area where the
- 39:40Speaker 14: housemates are camping.
- 39:41Speaker 1: I just said it in a right.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Well, we'll be watching Big Brother return 7.30 tonight on 10.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Mike Goldman, thank you for joining us, mate.
- 39:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 2: All right.
- 39:51Speaker 6: See you tonight.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Thanks, Mike.
- 39:52Speaker 1: See you.
- 39:53Speaker 5: Yeah, so a TikToker called Tinks has.
- 39:58Speaker 1: The one character trait that, in her opinion, you should
- 40:01Speaker 1: always seek to avoid whilst dating.
- 40:04Speaker 5: Have a listen to what she said.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 40:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 40:06Speaker 15: You cannot date a cheap guy. I'm not telling you
- 40:10Speaker 15: guys to gold dig. I'm not telling you guys it
- 40:12Speaker 15: has to be a rich man. There is a difference. OK,
- 40:16Speaker 15: cheap men are you are going to be dealing with
- 40:18Speaker 15: this for the rest of your life. OK, that's the
- 40:20Speaker 15: problem is if he's a cheap guy. Now, I'm happy
- 40:23Speaker 15: to hear that he was paying for your drinks and whatever, but.
- 40:25Speaker 15: even the fact that he made a mention of it
- 40:27Speaker 15: or made a big deal of like, Oh, I'm paying
- 40:29Speaker 15: for your drinks. It's like, what do you want to metal?
- 40:31Speaker 2: Oh, so women just want to go with heaps of money.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Is that what we take out of that?
- 40:34Speaker 1: I don't think she's saying that, but like, you know,
- 40:37Speaker 1: the guys, my dad's one of them. Like you go
- 40:41Speaker 1: to the movies and he like goes and make sandwiches beforehand.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Cause he doesn't want to buy the movie money.
- 40:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Movie popcorn.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I know what you mean.
- 40:50Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 40:50Speaker 5: And, Look, I think it was different in my mum
- 40:53Speaker 5: and dad's times.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Yeah, my parents were like that too.
- 40:55Speaker 5: I think their salary was like 19,000K or something.
- 40:57Speaker 1: But in this day and age, you know, surely you
- 41:01Speaker 1: would have a mate where you're all doing round after
- 41:04Speaker 1: round after round. Is there ever one that dodges it?
- 41:08Speaker 2: No, they're pretty good, but I did have a mate once.
- 41:10Speaker 2: We went to this pub and they... I think it
- 41:13Speaker 2: was in a Surf Life Saving Club. And they didn't
- 41:16Speaker 2: have an ATM and they didn't take card. We're talking
- 41:18Speaker 2: years ago. And I was like, well, I don't have cash.
- 41:21Speaker 2: And he goes, I'll give you 50 bucks. I was like, oh, thanks, man.
- 41:23Speaker 2: So he spent the 50. The next day at like
- 41:27Speaker 2: 8 a.m., I got a text going, here's my account
- 41:29Speaker 2: details for that $ 50. Yeah. And I got another mate who's,
- 41:34Speaker 2: to be fair to him, he doesn't earn much money,
- 41:35Speaker 2: but I know when he goes on dates, he will
- 41:38Speaker 2: like maybe buy her a drink, but he's gone on
- 41:40Speaker 2: dates where he didn't like the girl and he's just
- 41:42Speaker 2: asked her to pay because I'm not wasting money on her. Yeah,
- 41:47Speaker 2: I know.
- 41:47Speaker 6: I know.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Like when I was dating, I mean, I turned up
- 41:50Speaker 2: to dates and she'd walk in and I'd be like, oh,
- 41:51Speaker 2: for fuck's sake. Here we go. But I would still pay.
- 41:55Speaker 3: I would still get, in.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Fact, I would get wildly drunk because I've wasted my
- 41:59Speaker 2: whole Friday night.
- 42:00Speaker 1: But I had a guy, this is in my late
- 42:03Speaker 1: 20s actually.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:05Speaker 5: Or mid 20s, whatever.
- 42:07Speaker 1: And we would go tit for tat.
- 42:10Speaker 2: On dating?
- 42:10Speaker 1: On dinners. And he would clock if my dinner was like,
- 42:16Speaker 1: Much cheaper than the one he had bought. And I
- 42:18Speaker 1: was like, this is so gross.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Can you imagine a life with him?
- 42:21Speaker 1: No, I couldn't. That's hence why we're not together.
- 42:23Speaker 2: And I know it's 2026, right? When I was wooing,
- 42:28Speaker 2: if I wanted someone, I would, I mean, even if
- 42:30Speaker 2: I didn't want them just because I didn't want to
- 42:32Speaker 2: be embarrassed, but I would always pay. You're paying for
- 42:35Speaker 2: dinner and drinks. Maybe you got to, like, the third
- 42:37Speaker 2: or fourth date and maybe she just goes and fixes
- 42:40Speaker 2: it up without you knowing. Or you take her out
- 42:43Speaker 2: for dinner and then you go for a few more
- 42:44Speaker 2: drinks and she buys the drinks. Like, great. But there
- 42:47Speaker 2: shouldn't be a dude just going like, I had the
- 42:50Speaker 2: schnitzel and you had the piss off, mate. Loser.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Your version of that guy is just so good.
- 42:57Speaker 2: I don't know. Was it an old man?
- 42:59Speaker 3: It was an old man. Sounds like 90 or something.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Why are you dating this 90-year-old pensioner? Oh, and in
- 43:07Speaker 2: the building, Sophie Mark. Good morning.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Love Island Australia episodes Monday to Thursday on Nine. Now,
- 43:15Speaker 2: what's this big thing you've got in the studio?
- 43:17Speaker 6: It's a pink flamingo.
- 43:18Speaker 4: Oh, it's a flamingo. Why? Because that's what Love Island's about.
- 43:21Speaker 4: And that flamingo over there, I don't know why I'm
- 43:23Speaker 4: spruiking her. But she's got her own show.
- 43:26Speaker 6: Oh.
- 43:27Speaker 5: No, she doesn't.
- 43:28Speaker 2: The Flamingo host.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and uncut on Stan. So you can go and
- 43:31Speaker 4: watch more of Love Island. So say there's like a
- 43:33Speaker 4: big fight in Love Island, you can go over and
- 43:36Speaker 4: watch the entire fight. And the Flamingo's hosting.
- 43:39Speaker 6: Yes.
- 43:40Speaker 4: So there's no, no, not really hosting, but, you know,
- 43:42Speaker 4: that's the face of the show there.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Gotcha.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I have nothing to do with that one.
- 43:47Speaker 5: You've just got to lug it around everywhere.
- 43:48Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:48Speaker 4: I'm doing the press for her.
- 43:50Speaker 2: And Love Island, of course, is back. This season's a
- 43:53Speaker 2: little different to others. Why is it different?
- 43:56Speaker 4: Because it's in a massive villa in Fiji. It's just
- 44:00Speaker 4: become the USA villa.
- 44:02Speaker 1: The USA villa.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Well, what's the USA villa?
- 44:05Speaker 4: It's just, it blew up. Like, Love Island's been huge internationally,
- 44:09Speaker 4: but it's like officially a massive, like, with the pop
- 44:11Speaker 4: culture now, it's there and it's staying and it's just...
- 44:15Speaker 4: So the American one just was massive. All the big
- 44:18Speaker 4: celebrities wanted to be on it and stuff.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Yeah, really.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Yeah, so we're in that villa and it's just the
- 44:23Speaker 4: best show. I don't know what it did, but the
- 44:25Speaker 4: contestants just all straight away. It was just like drama,
- 44:29Speaker 4: full on. They were invested. They were all there for
- 44:32Speaker 4: the right reasons. It's just sometimes it clicks and you
- 44:35Speaker 4: get a show where you go– This is the best, like,
- 44:37Speaker 4: this is the best TV I've ever watched in my
- 44:39Speaker 4: entire life.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Wow, that's a big call.
- 44:41Speaker 4: It is a massive call.
- 44:42Speaker 1: That's really cool.
- 44:43Speaker 4: I've watched Shawshank Redemption. I have watched Breaking Bad.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Yeah, no, this is better.
- 44:49Speaker 4: All the intellectual stuff as well.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Do you reckon that these people are genuinely falling in
- 44:55Speaker 1: love with each other or do you think it, like,
- 44:57Speaker 1: I always think to myself, how do you fall in
- 44:58Speaker 1: love with cameras everywhere around you? But do you feel
- 45:01Speaker 1: like there are some genuine connections made.
- 45:03Speaker 3: On the show? No, it is.
- 45:04Speaker 4: You can't because you get kicked out. So you can't
- 45:06Speaker 4: play the game. The game plays you. You just can't
- 45:08Speaker 4: because it's like you can't predict it either. They all cry.
- 45:11Speaker 4: But you're going to get kicked out if you're not
- 45:12Speaker 4: there for the right reasons.
- 45:13Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 4: So then it is left with the right people. And
- 45:16Speaker 4: they've got the same interests. They like going to the gym.
- 45:18Speaker 4: They're all so hot. Yeah, they like their appearance.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Veneers, tattoos.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly. So they're into exactly the same shit. And
- 45:25Speaker 4: so why wouldn't it work? But we've had our first
- 45:27Speaker 4: Love Island baby as well.
- 45:29Speaker 6: Oh.
- 45:29Speaker 4: So, yeah, and they're young and we've got a really
- 45:32Speaker 4: good success rate on Love Island.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Now, you wanted to know, Amy, if they actually get
- 45:35Speaker 2: it on.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I want to know because I know a lot of them,
- 45:38Speaker 1: they leave the show as a couple. And I always
- 45:41Speaker 1: think to myself, is there intimacy in the show?
- 45:44Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 1: There is.
- 45:45Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't show any of that.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Yeah, of course.
- 45:48Speaker 4: Even though they're in bathers, you instantly think, oh, my God,
- 45:50Speaker 4: it's going to be sexual. And it's not like, I mean,
- 45:53Speaker 4: I mean, it's sexy. It's definitely not, not sexy, but
- 45:56Speaker 4: it's like, it's not that stuff. You know, it's not necessary.
- 45:58Speaker 4: If it's not needed for the storyline, we don't need it.
- 46:01Speaker 4: And usually it's not. If they want to talk about it,
- 46:03Speaker 4: go for it.
- 46:04Speaker 8: Okay.
- 46:04Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 46:04Speaker 2: But it won't be, is it like cameras in the room?
- 46:07Speaker 4: I mean, there's cameras everywhere.
- 46:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 46:10Speaker 4: Literally everywhere.
- 46:11Speaker 2: So they're doing it knowing that they're being filmed.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes.
- 46:13Speaker 2: They just don't care.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Usually they're in, like, dorm-style rooms where they're bed after
- 46:18Speaker 1: bed after bed, right?
- 46:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right, yes.
- 46:19Speaker 1: And then can you win, like, nights away in, like,
- 46:21Speaker 1: little rooms?
- 46:22Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you can. Like, the audience can vote. We've
- 46:24Speaker 4: got power couples this year, which is massive. So that's
- 46:27Speaker 4: all our successful cast of couples are coming back to
- 46:29Speaker 4: make decisions. So are they coming on to kind of–
- 46:33Speaker 4: Like the super fans were previously.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:36Speaker 4: And they know what they're doing and they get so passionate.
- 46:40Speaker 4: And we've got an extra two episodes because they could
- 46:42Speaker 4: not cut down the content. It was insane.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Because best show ever, according to Sophie.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Best show ever. If you were single, we know you're
- 46:50Speaker 1: happily married now, but if you were single, would you
- 46:51Speaker 1: ever go on it?
- 46:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:52Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 46:53Speaker 4: You know how much time you would save? Like, if
- 46:56Speaker 4: you want to know a guy's going to turn his head,
- 46:58Speaker 4: I've waited three, four years before. You know, you want
- 47:02Speaker 4: to know straight away, okay, I'm dealing with this kind
- 47:04Speaker 4: of person.
- 47:05Speaker 2: And that's true.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Yeah, put him to the test. Get yourself in Love
- 47:08Speaker 1: Island and with loads of other hotties.
- 47:11Speaker 6: Yep.
- 47:12Speaker 2: You'll know if he's trustworthy. And see if your man looks. Hey, Sophie.
- 47:14Speaker 5: Probably me that would look.
- 47:15Speaker 2: We were talking about Bardot the other day. I can't
- 47:18Speaker 2: remember why, but I'm back in the noughties, obviously. And
- 47:21Speaker 2: then you've done Solo. Could we expect a new single
- 47:24Speaker 2: from Sophie Monk anytime soon?
- 47:27Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Like, it's really cute. People keep saying that, but no
- 47:30Speaker 4: one's asking for it. You realise, like, no one's going, yeah,
- 47:33Speaker 4: you need to get out there. There's a tour offer. Like,
- 47:35Speaker 4: there's no offers.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Bardo could reform.
- 47:37Speaker 4: I mean, but we'd all have to pay it. You know, like,
- 47:39Speaker 4: it's just not.
- 47:40Speaker 6: Right.
- 47:41Speaker 2: No one's coming to you.
- 47:42Speaker 4: No, no. So it's not on the table.
- 47:44Speaker 1: You could get on TikTok, though, and just start singing.
- 47:46Speaker 4: Yeah, like a loser. Everyone would be like, good on you.
- 47:48Speaker 1: No way.
- 47:50Speaker 4: Also, I'm not that good live.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Do you ever go back and listen?
- 47:52Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah?
- 47:53Speaker 4: Like, I reckon once a month.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 47:55Speaker 4: I love the albums. They're so cool. We were the coolest.
- 47:59Speaker 2: And there's a trend going on that you wanted to do,
- 48:01Speaker 2: and we're going to do it with Sophie. Oh, yes.
- 48:04Speaker 2: We're going to put you to the test, actually.
- 48:05Speaker 4: I don't want to be on the test.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Well, you're going to be put to the test, but
- 48:09Speaker 2: what is it? Yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 1: So am I going to do it now with her?
- 48:12Speaker 2: Do we want to do it now? No, we're doing
- 48:14Speaker 2: it after the song.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Can I do this one now with her?
- 48:16Speaker 5: You can do this one.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Okay, then we'll do more.
- 48:18Speaker 1: So we all got put to this test. It's really simple.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Nat did it to us. You can, I'll do you,
- 48:24Speaker 1: I'll ask you first.
- 48:24Speaker 6: Okay.
- 48:24Speaker 1: So how do you spell men? M-E-N. And how do
- 48:27Speaker 1: you spell us?
- 48:29Speaker 4: U-S.
- 48:30Speaker 1: And put those two words together and what does it spell?
- 48:32Speaker 4: What was the first one again? Men.
- 48:34Speaker 6: Men-us.
- 48:36Speaker 1: No.
- 48:36Speaker 3: Men-us.
- 48:38Speaker 4: What have I done wrong?
- 48:39Speaker 15: Men-us.
- 48:40Speaker 5: No, I did this same thing, yeah.
- 48:42Speaker 1: What do you mean, yeah?
- 48:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:44Speaker 1: You can't just go yeah.
- 48:45Speaker 4: So men.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Men-us.
- 48:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:47Speaker 5: Men-u-us.
- 48:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:48Speaker 6: Oh.
- 48:49Speaker 1: I'm a genius.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Now, there was this thing going around about Gen Zs
- 48:54Speaker 2: not knowing how to spell, right?
- 48:55Speaker 6: Oh, yes.
- 48:56Speaker 4: You don't need to.
- 48:57Speaker 1: No, you don't now.
- 48:58Speaker 4: You know, I go like this. So I'm texting and
- 49:00Speaker 4: then I go, restaurant. And then it corrects it and
- 49:03Speaker 4: then I'm like, receipt. And, yeah, so why learn them?
- 49:06Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't need to.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Well, let's see how you go.
- 49:07Speaker 3: I'm the worst.
- 49:08Speaker 4: Sorry, kids, do not listen to me.
- 49:09Speaker 2: Don't listen to Sophie. We've got a game that involves
- 49:12Speaker 2: that coming up with you next. So stay right there, okay?
- 49:15Speaker 4: I failed.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Every year at school. You might fail this.
- 49:18Speaker 3: Okay.
- 49:19Speaker 2: And Sophie Monk, see Love Island episodes are on Monday
- 49:22Speaker 2: to Thursday. On 9 now it is the best season ever,
- 49:25Speaker 2: according to Sophie Monk.
- 49:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Hey, Sophie, we were just playing a little game with
- 49:30Speaker 2: you about how does it work? Men use.
- 49:33Speaker 4: Men us.
- 49:35Speaker 5: Yeah, every time you say menus, you spoil the game.
- 49:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:38Speaker 1: You're asking people to spell two words, put them together.
- 49:42Speaker 1: I don't know why, but I sat here going menas, menas, menas, menas.
- 49:49Speaker 4: It's called a brain test.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Brain fart?
- 49:52Speaker 4: No, brain twister.
- 49:53Speaker 6: Right.
- 49:54Speaker 4: Okay, I like those.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Well, we've got more. We're going to put some big
- 49:58Speaker 2: words up on the screen. We want to see if
- 50:00Speaker 2: you can pronounce them correctly.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Oh, God.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 50:04Speaker 1: I know this one.
- 50:05Speaker 4: I've got a backstory about this one.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Okay, so what's this one?
- 50:08Speaker 4: It's actually colonel. But the reason I know this is
- 50:11Speaker 4: I went for an audition. And while I was auditioning,
- 50:16Speaker 4: it was like a serious role. And I went, you
- 50:17Speaker 4: don't understand colonel. And then I realised later, I was like, oh,
- 50:22Speaker 4: it's Colonel.
- 50:23Speaker 2: So you didn't get the role because of that?
- 50:26Speaker 4: No. Yeah, of course I didn't get the role.
- 50:29Speaker 2: Colonial.
- 50:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Okay, so it's spelled C-O-L. Okay, next. What is this?
- 50:34Speaker 4: Oh, quinoa. What is that called again?
- 50:36Speaker 2: Quinoa.
- 50:37Speaker 6: Quinoa.
- 50:37Speaker 4: That gross stuff you shouldn't eat.
- 50:40Speaker 2: Did we give it to her?
- 50:40Speaker 4: Quinoa.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Quinoa. Quinoa. Oh, okay.
- 50:43Speaker 2: I'm going to go now.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Yeah, okay.
- 50:45Speaker 2: Up next.
- 50:46Speaker 4: When you read it. Oh, Worcestershire.
- 50:48Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 1: See, I would have got that wrong. I don't know.
- 50:51Speaker 1: I always go Worcestershire.
- 50:54Speaker 4: I don't read it.
- 50:54Speaker 2: I just go Worcestershire.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Worcestershire.
- 50:56Speaker 4: Worcestershire.
- 50:57Speaker 1: So it's like an I.
- 50:58Speaker 5: So four of those letters are basically blind.
- 51:02Speaker 2: The English language is ridiculous.
- 51:04Speaker 4: Isn't it?
- 51:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 51:05Speaker 4: It's pretty hard.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Roll out the next one.
- 51:08Speaker 4: Oh, anemone.
- 51:11Speaker 6: Anemone. Anemone?
- 51:14Speaker 4: Anemone.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Chelsea, can you correct us on this one? Anemone. How
- 51:19Speaker 2: do we pronounce this one? What is it?
- 51:20Speaker 4: No one even wants that word in their lives. Why
- 51:23Speaker 4: would you ask me?
- 51:24Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Well, think.
- 51:25Speaker 10: Someone.
- 51:26Speaker 2: You would find these in the ocean a lot.
- 51:28Speaker 4: I don't need a description. I don't know what it
- 51:30Speaker 4: is anymore.
- 51:30Speaker 6: It's an anemone. Anemone.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Anemone.
- 51:34Speaker 2: What is that?
- 51:35Speaker 11: Anemone.
- 51:35Speaker 4: And you'd find it in the ocean. Is it a shark?
- 51:37Speaker 5: No, they're like little slugs, right?
- 51:39Speaker 8: Yeah, they're kind of, they're like a hole with squiggly things.
- 51:43Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 51:43Speaker 4: Oh my God, they're so unimportant for such a large name.
- 51:47Speaker 2: All right, and finally.
- 51:48Speaker 3: Opaque.
- 51:49Speaker 2: Opaque.
- 51:49Speaker 4: I know that from stockings.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Well, you know what? Lucky you don't really need to
- 51:53Speaker 2: spell and pronounce things.
- 51:55Speaker 4: Ever.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Ever, even. Hosting Love Island. It's back Monday to Thursday
- 52:00Speaker 2: on Nine Now. Sophie, thank you for coming in.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Thanks for having me, guys. You're doing so good.
- 52:04Speaker 1: I'm excited to watch the show.
- 52:05Speaker 4: I'm a Love Island addict.
- 52:07Speaker 6: Oh, please.
- 52:07Speaker 4: We're not going to let you down.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Oh.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Best one ever.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Best one ever.
- 52:10Speaker 2: And Mikey, Amy Gerard taking your last calls now.
- 52:13Speaker 8: 131065.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Keenan or Kynan?
- 52:16Speaker 3: Kynan.
- 52:16Speaker 8: Hello.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Kynan.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Hello. Hey, guys.
- 52:20Speaker 9: How you going?
- 52:21Speaker 10: Good.
- 52:21Speaker 2: What's up, man? What do you want to talk about?
- 52:24Speaker 8: We've got a little joke for you guys.
- 52:27Speaker 4: Oh, yeah?
- 52:28Speaker 9: Mate, what's the fifth.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Letter of the alphabet? E? E. E. Okay, and can
- 52:37Speaker 2: you guys spell yes for me?
- 52:40Speaker 1: Y-E-S.
- 52:42Speaker 11: Okay, now if you were to put that together, what
- 52:44Speaker 11: would that say?
- 52:46Speaker 1: Put what together?
- 52:49Speaker 8: All of that together.
- 52:50Speaker 6: Like the alphabet and the yes? Yep.
- 52:54Speaker 2: Yes-y?
- 52:56Speaker 1: Or a yes?
- 52:59Speaker 8: Are you sure?
- 53:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Yes-y.
- 53:02Speaker 6: How do you guys spell ice? Ice.
- 53:07Speaker 2: I-C-E?
- 53:08Speaker 1: Or eyes? Eyes or ice? Oh.
- 53:10Speaker 6: Eye.
- 53:12Speaker 2: He got us. It's like the menu one you were doing. Oh, yeah.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Well played.
- 53:20Speaker 8: Look at him cackling.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Explain the.
- 53:25Speaker 1: The menu one.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Well, yeah.
- 53:26Speaker 1: So you spell... Ask somebody to spell men.
- 53:28Speaker 12: M-E-N.
- 53:29Speaker 2: And then us.
- 53:31Speaker 1: And then put those two words together and what does
- 53:33Speaker 1: it say? And everyone here except for Alec said they're
- 53:36Speaker 1: going menas.
- 53:38Speaker 6: Menas.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Menas. Menas.
- 53:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Menas.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:43Speaker 1: And it's menus.
- 53:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:44Speaker 2: And you just got us as well, mate. Thank you.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Well done. 131065 Mel in San Susie.
- 53:48Speaker 8: Hi. Hey guys, just a little bit about the eyebrows situation.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, so these two women have had a fight
- 53:58Speaker 2: about a daughter's eyebrows, Amy.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Yeah, a lady made a comment about, you know, a
- 54:03Speaker 1: young girl's eyebrows and called her Borat.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Which is quite insensitive.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Yeah, offended the mum.
- 54:10Speaker 2: Right, so should the mum get over it now that
- 54:13Speaker 2: that woman's apologised or what do you think?
- 54:15Speaker 8: Oh, okay. So, I've got, like, a Greek background. And, like,
- 54:20Speaker 8: we're hairy. You know what I mean?
- 54:22Speaker 9: Like, whatever.
- 54:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 54:23Speaker 8: You know, we've got to... The thing is, I guess,
- 54:25Speaker 8: certain ethnicities, right, they don't get it. Like, we've got
- 54:28Speaker 8: to do the whole eyebrow thing, the mow thing, the
- 54:31Speaker 8: under the arm thing, the leg thing, the laser thing.
- 54:34Speaker 8: And so, we're already bringing this trauma, right? Like, and
- 54:37Speaker 8: then we laser, and then we forget that, oh, God,
- 54:41Speaker 8: we've got to have kids. And now the kids are hairy.
- 54:43Speaker 8: And so, you're... Yeah, and so you're carrying this trauma
- 54:47Speaker 8: from your childhood. From your childhood, yeah. And then you see,
- 54:53Speaker 8: and your kid's probably so unaware. My daughter's got strong eyebrows,
- 54:57Speaker 8: and I know she maybe is a bit sensitive to it,
- 55:01Speaker 8: but if another mom said it to me, A, I'm
- 55:04Speaker 8: protecting my child because I've got my trauma from when
- 55:07Speaker 8: I was a kid.
- 55:08Speaker 4: Of course.
- 55:08Speaker 8: So that mom hasn't dealt with, and then she's like,
- 55:12Speaker 8: how dare you say that about my kids? And she's
- 55:14Speaker 8: probably just trying to protect her kid, but also protect
- 55:17Speaker 8: her inner child.
- 55:17Speaker 10: I reckon.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's probably triggering something in her.
- 55:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:22Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, because she may have had the strong eyebrows herself.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and she might have got teased for it as well.
- 55:27Speaker 2: And it's a good point. Not everyone's like white and hairless.
- 55:30Speaker 4: That's right.
- 55:31Speaker 8: Yeah, and I think she's probably teased other people too
- 55:34Speaker 8: without thinking about it, you know, and I think if
- 55:38Speaker 8: she just really thought about it, and it was just
- 55:40Speaker 8: in passing, because, like, it is a bit funny. Like,
- 55:43Speaker 8: it is funny, but, like, just keep it in your head, baby.
- 55:46Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 55:46Speaker 8: Like, don't, like, next time.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Inside voice, inside voice.
- 55:50Speaker 8: Inside voice, inside, like, inside, yeah. So that's what I, yeah.
- 55:54Speaker 8: If she can get over it, get over it, because,
- 55:56Speaker 8: you know. I just think it was a silly comment.
- 55:59Speaker 2: Good on you, Mel. Thanks for your comment. Have a
- 56:01Speaker 2: good day.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Love you, Amy.
- 56:03Speaker 6: Bye.
- 56:04Speaker 15: I love you.
- 56:05Speaker 6: Bye.
- 56:05Speaker 2: I love you more.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Bye.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Oh, she loves you more.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Hey, what's on today? What are you doing?
- 56:11Speaker 1: I'm actually going into the city.
- 56:13Speaker 5: I've got more work on.
- 56:14Speaker 2: What is it, the pod?
- 56:17Speaker 5: No, it's for a job that I've got to shoot.
- 56:20Speaker 4: Who's it for?
- 56:21Speaker 2: Can't say.
- 56:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I can.
- 56:23Speaker 1: It's for L'Occitane. It's for their Christmas campaign. I go
- 56:26Speaker 1: into the store.
- 56:27Speaker 2: L'Occitane.
- 56:28Speaker 1: L'Occitane. Skin care, body, shower care, it's absolutely divine. Yeah,
- 56:35Speaker 1: I'm not going to get you any, so don't bother asking.
- 56:37Speaker 2: It's for women, yeah?
- 56:38Speaker 1: It's for anyone who enjoys luxury products. In the shower,
- 56:43Speaker 1: their almond oil, oh, so good.
- 56:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be right. I just use shampoo and rub
- 56:47Speaker 2: it on my bits. I just use the one thing.
- 56:50Speaker 4: Because you've got.
- 56:50Speaker 5: To shampoo your hairy, rugged chest.
- 56:53Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 56:53Speaker 2: All right, thanks. Tomorrow, celebrity psychic Georgina Walker, the chance
- 56:58Speaker 2: to drive away in a brand-new car, and thousands to
- 57:01Speaker 2: be won with our pop quiz. Now, Gordie's here, and
- 57:04Speaker 2: if you want to go and see Harry Styles, I'd
- 57:06Speaker 2: keep it on Kiss, okay? He has tickets for you.
- 57:09Speaker 2: Have a great day. We'll see you tomorrow, bright and early.
- 57:11Speaker 1: See you in the morning. Bye.
- 57:12Speaker 6: Bye.
