Transcript
- 0:59Good Monday evening from the Monday Night Rewind presented by
- 1:02the national compact touring series Federated Auto Parts and
- 1:06Elage detailing. We have a packed house and the
- 1:09staging area right now is we have three Co hosts and Nick
- 1:12Sturmi, the smooth operator will be joining us shortly.
- 1:16So if you've had a case of the Mondays, hopefully we could take
- 1:18those case of the Mondays and turn them around.
- 1:20It's a nice sunny day in Northwest Indiana and southwest
- 1:24Michigan. So again at seven O 5, we have
- 1:26Nick Sturmi who will be joining us to talk about his recent
- 1:30career overall thinks he's done, thinks he wants to do.
- 1:34And then you might be wondering, we're also live tonight on the
- 1:37Hartford Motor Speedway Facebook page.
- 1:39We got it set up because at 7:40.
- 1:42So for Hartford fans, 740 is when Leah Dibble will be coming
- 1:46on and she's going to be talking about the World of Outlaws
- 1:49giving some big names that will be at the track this Friday
- 1:52night. Again, this is the the date that
- 1:54I bet many people have had circled for a really long time
- 1:58to enjoy the World of Outlaws. And it's the first time since
- 2:01July 12th, 2019 that the World of Outlaws will be at Hartford
- 2:05and it is their one and only trip to Michigan.
- 2:08So you know, with it being so long, there's no guarantee that
- 2:12the World of Outlaws will be back next year.
- 2:15So if you're looking for something to do on a Friday
- 2:17night, Jude Jack is with us. He'll be talk about his national
- 2:19compact show at Corgan Oil Speedway.
- 2:22But if you're a dirt fan or you're just looking to do
- 2:24something different on a Friday night, Kalamazoo is not racing.
- 2:27We're not going head to head with World of Outlaws.
- 2:29We have a demolition Derby on Saturday at the Kalamazoo
- 2:31Speedway. But again, Leo will be on.
- 2:34So if you're like, hey, we're on the Hartford page.
- 2:36That's why we got it set up for Leah.
- 2:38So at 7:40, we're talking Hartford Speedway, World of
- 2:42Outlaws. A programming note, if you watch
- 2:45the Thursday night throttle, Buju and I did have a chance to
- 2:48talk. I'm taking a personal day on
- 2:51Thursday. I asked the boss man if I could
- 2:53do that. And so we will not be having a
- 2:56show Thursday night throttle this Thursday.
- 3:00We're going to take this week off.
- 3:01But Buju has been messing around with some different ideas for
- 3:08his own show that he wants to do like every other week, give or
- 3:10take. Not on Thursdays on a different
- 3:12day, but so that's something that check for his page that
- 3:16he's going to be doing something himself and but no Thursday
- 3:20night throttle this week. We are taking, I'm taking a
- 3:22personal day and we just felt like it's OK to take a day off.
- 3:28One more reminder if you're looking to get your car detailed
- 3:31or touching now that the weather's finally turning.
- 3:33If you go to ELH Detailing in Bridgman, Michigan, they're a
- 3:35marketing partner of Top Row Racing Media.
- 3:38If you buy one full detail package inside and outside and
- 3:41use the code top row between May 1st last month, now that it's
- 3:46June 1st today and then September 30th, you'll receive
- 3:50an entry when you use that code top row for a chance to receive
- 3:53a full detail from Elates detailing.
- 3:55The first one that we're giving away is on July 13th, and then
- 3:58the second one is on October 12th, just before the fall
- 4:01starts. So again, lots of you, lots to
- 4:04see, lots to talk about. So let's welcome in every Co
- 4:08host joining us tonight. I know he's usually busy, so we
- 4:11don't get to see him as often, but he's with us tonight.
- 4:14And then on my other side, I have Buju, who you see all the
- 4:18time with me on Mondays and Thursdays.
- 4:20So how are we all doing tonight? I'm I've been a little under the
- 4:25weather today, so I've been I've been better on a Monday, but
- 4:28over pushing through better than I was this morning, that's for
- 4:31sure. I wish I got to enjoy the
- 4:32beautiful day that we had today in Michiana, but I was laid up
- 4:36all day. Unfortunately is.
- 4:38It it's just kind of feeling like that's why I said a case of
- 4:40the Mondays. It's just feeling like from the
- 4:42Mondays. How about you, Drew?
- 4:44I know you've been busy. You put in like 60 hours last
- 4:46week for the Hartford show, which we could talk about a
- 4:49little bit, a little bit later tonight after Nick and Leah,
- 4:54just to kind of go over that because you're going to try to
- 4:56do the same thing, duplicate the same thing you did at Hartford
- 4:59this coming Friday for Corrigan. Absolutely.
- 5:03Honestly, I was out a little bit too late last night and got up
- 5:07very early today 'cause there's a lot of work to do this week
- 5:10and we got a pretty exciting text message in a response that
- 5:17we got a truck driver from MIS. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck
- 5:22Series will be joining us Friday.
- 5:23We're still working on some more mayonnaise.
- 5:26We get to know. We go on to the next one.
- 5:28We want to make this event special at Corrigan Oil.
- 5:30We want to make the event special at Hartford on this
- 5:33Friday for the World of Outlaws, for Leah.
- 5:34It's a good weekend for racing. It's a tough weekend because
- 5:38it's MIS weekend, graduation weekend.
- 5:42Just summer's finally getting here and people are maybe not
- 5:45thinking racetrack right away as their first thing, but all
- 5:50tracks got to work hard and and Leah and I and you will Lujah
- 5:54will talk about it when she comes on.
- 5:56The amount of work you do to break easy.
- 6:00Yeah. And that's where, again, I want
- 6:01to remind everyone who might be joining us from the Hartford
- 6:04Motor Speedway page going, what's this and what's happening
- 6:07tonight. We have Leah Dibble on at 7:40
- 6:10and so we got Hartford on here because she's going to be
- 6:14talking a lot about the World of Outlaws giving some big names
- 6:16that will be at Hartford on Friday and also going over some
- 6:20of the different changes that are are taking place for this
- 6:23unique special show that's coming up for the first time
- 6:25since July 12th 2019. So again, if you're joining from
- 6:29the Hartford Motor Speedway page wondering what's this and what's
- 6:31going on and you're seeing us for the first time this is in
- 6:34the every Monday thing on Hartford.
- 6:37It's it is on top row. So we hope you come back and
- 6:40watch us. But we got it set up for Leah so
- 6:42that way when she comes on at 7:40, it was one last thing for
- 6:45her to have to worry about when she signed in.
- 6:48So that's why we're live on the Hartford Motor Speedway page
- 6:51because we will be talking about World of Outlaws.
- 6:54Wichter's gonna steal hotdogs. So we were thinking next week I
- 6:59was talking with Wichter that they might be on next week, him,
- 7:02Jeremy and Phillip, cause night instruction is next week at
- 7:06Hartford on the 13th. So they'll be there for that.
- 7:10So again, hello to everyone just to welcome everyone back before
- 7:14we bring Nick in it because it is seven O 6.
- 7:17So again share this out. You know like it last week was
- 7:20the most watched episode and and our now that was 15 episodes at
- 7:26that .9 / 9000 views Buju and over 5000 people saw it at some
- 7:32point and from week to week. So it was just crazy that you
- 7:35know, the next closest was Wichter's at 6000 and then Leah
- 7:38and and Megan had the previous record.
- 7:42So it took a while for someone to to cross him.
- 7:45But that was a wild episode last week to have that just hit the
- 7:50stratosphere. So pretty, pretty cool.
- 7:52That's 13 out of 14 weeks that you know on Monday.
- 7:55So I'm excited for that too. But anyways, if we're ready, we
- 8:00can bring on the smooth operator 'cause I know he's set up in the
- 8:02background and 03000 or 3249 rubbles for Richard to get in at
- 8:12Hartford. So and Leah, just so you know,
- 8:14we are live on the Hartford page.
- 8:15We got that set up for you. Drew was able to do it.
- 8:18So you don't have to worry about doing that yourself when you got
- 8:21in. So anyways, are we all ready for
- 8:23Nick? Yes, Sir, we are all right.
- 8:26So again, champion over at Plymouth Motor Speedway last
- 8:29year, champion at a couple places actually in his career.
- 8:33So let's go ahead and let's welcome the smooth operator Nick
- 8:37Stremi to oh, that's the wrong graphic.
- 8:39There we go. Got that, Nick.
- 8:40Nick Stremi. How's it going?
- 8:43Good, how about you again? It's a Monday and I know you had
- 8:46a long weekend with racing, so how are you doing?
- 8:50It's catching up to us. No, we it was a long weekend.
- 8:56Buddies had some trouble, Dad had some trouble, I had some
- 8:59trouble. Unfortunately, a couple of us
- 9:02worked out, a couple of us didn't.
- 9:05But it's part of racing and if we didn't love doing this
- 9:10addicting drug, then I wouldn't be sitting here in front of a
- 9:14race car right now. Which by the way, is it Jaden
- 9:20Curtasi, right? Who does your rap still?
- 9:22Or Yep. I mean, he just did an
- 9:24incredible job. Oh yeah, he every year in the
- 9:30past I don't know I think he'd been going to Jaden now for five
- 9:32years gets to be about closer in the winter beginning of spring.
- 9:39What do you want to do? Well, I don't know, design
- 9:41something up and usually it takes about a day or so.
- 9:46We'll find it, fiddle out the little details.
- 9:49And I've been very fortunate, had some great sponsors come on
- 9:53board the last couple years and family help.
- 9:57And with Jayden's help, I feel the last couple years we've had
- 10:02one of the best looking St. stocks around.
- 10:05Oh, it it's my it's one of my favorites that I see it, you
- 10:08know, week in and week out when I get a chance to watch you race
- 10:11and you come around, it's like, I mean just that just the
- 10:14scheme, you know, it, it's not quite dirt car Y, but it's got
- 10:18kind of like that dirt car feel to it.
- 10:20So you know, compared to some of the other ones.
- 10:23I mean you're not it's like Evan Verdine.
- 10:24It's like a challenge each year to the year before.
- 10:27And and this one is, I think probably my favorite that I've
- 10:31that I've seen. Oh, yeah, he, he does a great
- 10:34job. I mean, he, he's a great guy
- 10:39starting his own business from what he did and to what he's
- 10:41doing now and all the stuff even outside of racing that he does
- 10:45graphics wise, I, I don't think a lot of people even know about.
- 10:49But it's his full time job now. And I mean it's, he's up late,
- 10:53late, late at night and he, he's just a great guy.
- 10:59I mean, he, he does an excellent job.
- 11:01I mean the, as you can see, I mean, I think you can see the
- 11:05colors are still pretty bright. I mean we're, we're what, a
- 11:09month and 1/2 into racing? I raced 4 Times Now and I mean,
- 11:12I've got a door over there that's three years old that
- 11:15still looks just as bright as this.
- 11:17So whatever, whatever he uses it, it definitely stands out and
- 11:21it works and it it keeps its color.
- 11:24Nick, you talk about keeping your car clean and wrapped and
- 11:27professional. What's that do for your
- 11:30marketing partners when you're able to create that presentation
- 11:34on a a weekly basis? It I feel it helps.
- 11:39I mean, you keep it touched up to where you could read the
- 11:42stickers it and I shouldn't just say stickers, but the great
- 11:48sponsors and partners and it people from the stands have to
- 11:55read the lettering on the car to be able to go help support them.
- 12:00That's why they support us racers because I mean, not I get
- 12:04it. Not everyone gets stuff out of,
- 12:09I don't want to say business out of sponsoring race cars, but
- 12:14some of them do quite a bit and I hope the people that helped me
- 12:20get business from me and especially helps when we end up
- 12:24winning. So you get to read them at the
- 12:26end of the night to the fans. And I just, I guess I just got
- 12:29to work a little bit better this year to end up in the winner's
- 12:32circle so they can hear it. Well, and Speaking of winner's
- 12:37circle, you've definitely parked there often, right?
- 12:40So I you have championships you wanted at Plymouth last year,
- 12:43you've been a champion at Spartan Speedway.
- 12:46We were talking about that. Now it's Corrigan oil.
- 12:48So if we want to back up just a little little bit and if you
- 12:52want to talk about, you know, your, your career, for those who
- 12:55are watching, who may not know, right, they may know the shimmy
- 12:58name, but you just, you never know who's like, well, who's
- 13:01Nick Sheremi? I know Lou Sheremi or Steny
- 13:04Sheremi or Bobby Sheremi or David Sheremi, especially again,
- 13:07we're live on the Hartford Motor Speedway page just to get set up
- 13:09for Leah. But obviously David Sheremi
- 13:12being a dirt racer, right? So, so who's Nick Sheremi and,
- 13:16and your career from light models and St. stocks and outlaw
- 13:21light models, everything that you've raced.
- 13:23I was very fortunate. Grandpa started me out.
- 13:28I actually ran Grandma's car for Bruce Gregorich on the race car
- 13:33in 2012. I raced the blowout heat race at
- 13:36New Paris and that was my very first race.
- 13:40And grandpa decided over the winter, Wade Berger, him and his
- 13:45dad had their St. Stock for sale and we got that
- 13:49over the winter and basically and we didn't really do much to
- 13:54it. Our going to put our motor and
- 13:56seat and and obviously painted it blue 'cause I wanted to be
- 14:01like grandpa had success our first night out at South Bend
- 14:09was very fortunate. I think it's one of if not the
- 14:13only night in the track history that three generations of a
- 14:17family one in the same night. I was fortunate enough to win
- 14:21the fast heat and grandma spanked her ass in the heat area
- 14:25the feature, but dad was able to sweep the night in the Outlaw
- 14:31and it it was very neat. That was a 2013 2014.
- 14:38I moved to the car that my brother has now.
- 14:41It was my grandpa's car the previous year.
- 14:44We called it the we call it the penalty box.
- 14:51I want we traveled up to Spartan, now Corrigan on
- 14:54Sundays. They had four or five shows that
- 14:57year and the way that they used to do it, they had ABC class and
- 15:04it would be Sportsman, St. stocks, Pier Stocks.
- 15:07So you could consider Thunder Cars.
- 15:10We're all mixed into one class and you pretty much split up
- 15:14every week time wise. And I wasn't fast enough to run
- 15:20with the guy, the Sportsman's in the A, but I was fast enough to
- 15:22be a fast car in the B bracket. End up winning my first
- 15:27championship up there on Sundays in the B bracket.
- 15:30Never won a race but was able to do that just being consistent.
- 15:372015 Dad was done with the Outlaw and I still don't know
- 15:45what brought it to Grandpa's mind to put me in the template
- 15:49car. But we went template racing and
- 15:52from 2015 to middle of 2018 and we we didn't run.
- 16:02I mean we ran for championships, but we didn't.
- 16:05It was more or less just going and racing, getting more
- 16:08experience. 2016 I think was the hardest year we hit at it for
- 16:14try to run for championship. I run second Austin Maynard that
- 16:18year and and again, he's no slouch whether he's in a
- 16:23template car St. stock weight model and yeah, the template car
- 16:30was up until 2018. Halfway through the year the
- 16:34front clip got or I got in a wreck bet the front clip and
- 16:38decided I wasn't buying template body panels and we had the
- 16:42outlaw body sitting there from end of the year show stuff.
- 16:44So put the outlaw body on and attempted to make the sizzler.
- 16:49Missed it by a few cars, but ran Outlaws for that and then
- 16:56majority of 2019 and just didn't didn't have luck.
- 17:01It was hard to put the money into it like a lot of teams
- 17:05were. And because I mean just like it
- 17:08is today, Outlaws are takes every nickel, dime, dollar
- 17:12anymore. So about halfway through 2019, I
- 17:20believe it was June, we sold the car to a kid up in Wisconsin and
- 17:26we got this car from Jeremy Young, which looked way
- 17:30different then and I've been very fortunate since then. 2019
- 17:37was just I was the slowest car at South Bend.
- 17:39One night I was a started front row outside of the sea feature
- 17:46and I just I left with the biggest smile on my face because
- 17:50I had fun. And 2020 we chased for points at
- 17:56South Bend cause year of COVID year was cut short.
- 18:01Run second to Logan Maynard again.
- 18:05Logan is just like his brother. He's no slouch.
- 18:07You see him pulling to the track, he's got a good chance of
- 18:09winning. 2021 Three days before opening night broke my ankle so
- 18:15at work so that pushed our year off a little bit to where when I
- 18:21was able finally able to race we just bounced around and actually
- 18:25ended up going to New Paris and was able to win 3 features that
- 18:28year. 2022 Went back to New Paris and had the best year to
- 18:37date from our racing year to date for myself, winning six out
- 18:42of the 12 features and winning the championship.
- 18:47And 2023 was probably the roughest year of racing I had
- 18:52just I had some most races I ran in one year, but that was of
- 18:57course Plymouth, South Bend, Kalamazoo were alternating
- 19:02Friday nights. Plymouth, South Bend, New Paris,
- 19:06Galesburg, Angola, you name it was running on Saturdays and
- 19:11then Sundays was M40 and I think I took a month off that year and
- 19:16still ran 30 races that year. I went eight or nine weeks
- 19:21straight, three days in a row, which I don't advise if you
- 19:25don't want to be wore out, but it we had a lot of other stuff
- 19:28going on and that's how I dealt with it.
- 19:30I went racing and 2014 we bounced around didn't really run
- 19:37nowhere like a majority of the year or 14 shoot 24 sorry 2025
- 19:49we with the help of Cody Hahn, my dad and Brian Kaiser we cut
- 19:55the signal up and redid it and went to Plymouth open house and
- 20:00was felt pretty good. Went to Kalamazoo opening night,
- 20:04rained out after being 3rd or 4th quick out of 30 some cars
- 20:08and then we just stuck to Plymouth for the 10 points
- 20:11nights and. Was fortunate we won twice, had
- 20:15two DN FS and never finished outside the top five.
- 20:20We're able to win the points championship like I said and we
- 20:24traveled to a couple other tracks last year, Grundy,
- 20:27Kalamazoo and oh I went somewhere else, Owosso and we
- 20:37won the Ravens beefy trip at Kalamazoo, won the brackets at
- 20:42Grundy and run 4th at Owosso for my first time there.
- 20:45And then this year I've raced, attempted to race 4 times so
- 20:49far, run second at New Paris opening night, run 4th at
- 20:55Plymouth, made a lap and 1/2 at Angola and transmission broke.
- 21:02And then Owosso this past weekend we end up second.
- 21:07Had some luck on my side, some misfortune from other drivers
- 21:10and mistakes happening. But I mean that's racing and I
- 21:15just fortunate I was able to capitalize on it and we we had a
- 21:18good weekend in the end it just now it's fixing the thing.
- 21:24A lot of cars after this weekend have been kind of in that same
- 21:27boat, you know, very. Very much so.
- 21:29Yeah. And and do you want to talk a
- 21:32little bit about that because you've grown up in in racing,
- 21:36right? I mean, you're a a legacy family
- 21:40in this area, the footprint just historically, right.
- 21:44So if you want to talk a little bit about what it was like
- 21:47growing up as you know, and racing and, and watching this
- 21:50and when you got that bug of I need to do this myself and that,
- 21:55you know, you talked a little bit about that, but you know how
- 21:58you were sure, like this is what I want to do or, you know, I
- 22:01want to get in the car, I want to have fun.
- 22:03I want to do these things because, you know, not every
- 22:06family that's a legacy family always gets everyone in the car.
- 22:09And so, you know, not only have you gotten in it, but through a
- 22:12successful career has stayed in it.
- 22:13So we're gonna talk a little bit about what it's like, do that,
- 22:17and know what it takes to win. I can say I feel I can speak on
- 22:24behalf of my dad, my uncle, myself, my brother and even
- 22:28Hayden for the couple years she were in the mini wedge.
- 22:31We're all very fortunate what grandpa and grandma started now
- 22:3743 years ago. They, they made us work for if
- 22:45you wanted to go race, you worked for it.
- 22:47You they didn't just supply the car and you just show up with
- 22:51like some of these U SAT guys that show up with a helmet bag
- 22:55and a driver's suit and a steering wheel and their seat
- 22:57and they if you want to go race you, you worked on them you had
- 23:05to fix them. If you wrecked it, you fixed it.
- 23:08If you broke it, you fixed it. If you didn't and you had a good
- 23:12night, you work on it try to make it better for the next week
- 23:17going up their school, their requirements were don't get in
- 23:23trouble and have good grades. You do that, they'll help as
- 23:27long as you you put forth the effort to help and put forth the
- 23:32work to stay on track, to be keep a level head.
- 23:39I guess I was very fortunate to figure out at a young age that
- 23:47Dad and Uncle David would be racing a heck of a lot longer
- 23:51than what my grandparents would. So I really didn't go with my
- 23:54dad when I was younger. I did, but I didn't like when
- 23:58you were in the ASA stuff and traveling series.
- 24:01And even when he started running local again, I always went with
- 24:05grandpa and grandma because I wanted to spend the time with
- 24:09them more more than less than anything.
- 24:13It's I'm, there's a fine line between racing family and then
- 24:22your racing family. It's you may hate the guy two
- 24:27cars over from you in the pits, but he may be one of the first
- 24:31guys to come over and offer you a part if you need it.
- 24:36Obviously, like growing up, Austin started a couple years
- 24:42before I did and there's been a few years where we were at each
- 24:47other's strokes racing for a championship.
- 24:50There's other years that, you know, I feel we get along just
- 24:53fine. Like Saturday he was one of the
- 24:56few drivers that come over and asked if we needed parts or
- 24:58help. We may be tough competitors on
- 25:01the track to each other, but it eraser helping a racer out is
- 25:06what's going to keep this sport alive.
- 25:09Like you don't see very many guys wanting to go around and
- 25:11help. And I guess that's one main
- 25:16thing that we learned growing up was you help you don't bite the
- 25:23hand off that feeds you pretty much is the easiest way to put
- 25:26it. Absolutely.
- 25:29So we're going to do some rapid fire quick questions here.
- 25:32First thing that comes to your head when I mention this South
- 25:35Bend Motor Speedway. Oh, Doug Fox flagman.
- 25:45David Sturmie. Lethal chassis.
- 25:50Carson Ho Savar. Excitement.
- 25:54Hartford Motor Speedway families best racetrack food.
- 26:02That's racetrack food. Oh, I haven't had it in a long
- 26:08time. Steak on a stick at Winchester.
- 26:10I don't know if they have it anymore.
- 26:13All right, Buju bring you into the conversation.
- 26:16What's your favorite Nick Streamy memory from racing in
- 26:20Northwest Indiana? Favorite Nick Stremi memory?
- 26:26This would be pretty good. I, I just always like because me
- 26:31and Nick are around the same age and I just remember Nick running
- 26:33around the pits and me running around the pits with my group
- 26:35and him and Dylan running around and now see, and Nick being a
- 26:39street stock competitor in the, I think the toughest class in
- 26:42the air. I just, I think that's pretty
- 26:43cool in itself. And that was my first questions
- 26:46I had. I had for Nick is I think you're
- 26:49the division that you're racing and St.
- 26:50Socks in this area is arguably one of the toughest in the in
- 26:53the country. So when you go to one of these
- 26:55big races and you realistically have 1520 guys that could win
- 26:58those races, what is how much homework and how much
- 27:01preparation and what's the mindset that you have to have
- 27:04going into these races when the field is so deep like they are
- 27:07now? You got to be on your game.
- 27:11You can't just putz around and just, and in basic terms, just
- 27:18throw your shit together and go race.
- 27:20You have to go through it. It's it's not just load the car
- 27:26up, go race. I did that a few years ago and I
- 27:30was fortunate enough, but I mean, I never really had a
- 27:34problem. But like nowadays, like for
- 27:39example, we traveled to Owosso, which every track around the
- 27:44Michigan area, 3-4 states surrounding us has their own
- 27:52different levels of competition, but it's with the certain
- 27:57drivers that run at that track. So they're, you can say the
- 28:00locals, like the locals at New Paris maybe a different kind of
- 28:04level than Plymouth or from Kalamazoo or Owosso or Corrigan
- 28:09or Angola. You have your few guys that are
- 28:12tough no matter what. And then I feel like I said
- 28:18earlier, being locked down to one track for one or two years
- 28:22isn't a bad thing, but year after year you don't get
- 28:26experience racing on different tracks.
- 28:29The more you can adapt to like dirt dirt guys, the more they
- 28:35adapt to the changing track surface, the better they get.
- 28:38The more asphalt drivers travel to different tracks cause not
- 28:42every, not any 2 tracks are the exact same.
- 28:47So I think the more tracks you run, the more experience you
- 28:50get, the better off you're going to be.
- 28:52And I've been very fortunate that I've raced at close to a
- 28:58dozen tracks in my career, so not one has been the exact same
- 29:04yet. Two-part question #1 what's your
- 29:10favorite track that you've raced at and what's the future track
- 29:14that you want to race at that you haven't been to?
- 29:17My favorite track would probably be hands down Rockford.
- 29:22I got to race there once and had a pretty wild craft, but I man,
- 29:29I love that place. You had to talk yourself so much
- 29:31into driving down the top and just letting it roll.
- 29:36A track that I would love to race at, or you can say a bucket
- 29:40list item. I haven't made it to Anderson
- 29:45yet. I'd love to go to Winchester.
- 29:51That Kinross track where Sage and Charlie just went and all
- 29:55the outlaw guys. They it that looked like a
- 29:57pretty fun place. But it's it's a little Bullring
- 30:00and that's what we grew up on around here.
- 30:05So, Buju and now you got some more questions written down, one
- 30:08of some other questions that we have for Nick.
- 30:10Going off of what Andy did, I somebody that you haven't had
- 30:14the opportunity to race with maybe and won't have the
- 30:17opportunity to race with, but somebody that you wish you had
- 30:19the opportunity to race with over the course of your career
- 30:22or hope to. That I wish.
- 30:28So I went with David every week with a or pretty much the whole
- 30:31ASA tour when he ran it. I went with my grandma and just
- 30:35happened to be with David every week.
- 30:38And I was really good friends when I was real little with
- 30:40Butch Miller, I and I actually just raced RC cars this winter
- 30:46against his son Hank and his grandson.
- 30:49And if I could race one person, I'd love to race Butch just to
- 30:54say I got to race one of my heroes that that would be
- 30:58awesome. I know more likely it probably
- 31:01won't ever happen, but if I could choose one he would be 1
- 31:06of. Them and then, yeah, you
- 31:10mentioned your uncle David and obviously he's had some success.
- 31:13And when when you have a last name in racing that gets tied to
- 31:16NASCAR or success in the sport, I think there's some
- 31:19misconceptions that come with the generation that comes after
- 31:22those names. Do you would you agree with
- 31:24that? Statement for one.
- 31:26Absolutely everyone. I shouldn't say everyone.
- 31:31A lot of people see our last name and they assume David just
- 31:36hands us everything because of the level, the sport that he was
- 31:39able to get to. Not saying that David never
- 31:43helped us out with anything, but he never just gave it to us.
- 31:48I mean, we still had to work for it.
- 31:50It wasn't, it wasn't. Just say, all right, here, come
- 31:53get this and you can have it. Well, and while you're thinking
- 31:59about that and, and obviously being a tremie, right, you come
- 32:01with a target on your back. And so you're probably also
- 32:06other people's like, right, Like you have your own people.
- 32:09So Tina Lewis is asking who is your toughest competitor on the
- 32:13track? Because again, you know, a lot
- 32:15of people would probably pick a tremie when there's a tremie on
- 32:17the property. So in your case, since you are a
- 32:20tremie, maybe you could pick a tremie.
- 32:23I was racing against your dad or or Dylan or when you've raced
- 32:27against any other family members, right?
- 32:29Like, you know, maybe it's them, but who's your toughest
- 32:32competitor on the track? From Tina Lewis, one of our
- 32:36employees over at Kalamazoo. Rockstar employee, I should ask,
- 32:40especially after Saturday or Friday.
- 32:42I'd say it's hard to just pick one person because there's a
- 32:48group of guys that go to every race track and you know, they're
- 32:52going to be tough to beat. Like I mentioned earlier, Austin
- 32:58Maynard, wherever he goes, he's fast.
- 33:00The presser group, they're quick wherever they go.
- 33:04Andrew Devries, Daryl Clit. I mean, I, I would consider my
- 33:11dad. You've got the Gannis's, the
- 33:16Colin Bozell, the Ricky Leduc's, the Kyle Ribble.
- 33:21I mean, I the Lee Reed over at Angola.
- 33:24I mean, I could go on and on. Every track has its elite
- 33:30drivers. I could you could say, and not
- 33:34taking nothing away from the rest of them at the track or at
- 33:38each individual track or whoever I didn't mention, but you have
- 33:45that group of guys that can go to each track and be very tough.
- 33:49And I see that's probably the toughest competitor is everyone
- 33:54because you're not just racing yourself every week.
- 33:58And I'm a I've raced against. Austin.
- 34:03Two of the four races I've ran this year and he's been upfront
- 34:06both times. I've raced with my dad now twice
- 34:11this year. He had misfortune at Owosso but
- 34:14Plummeti was upfront running. Andrew Devries was fast.
- 34:20Two nights we raced each other. I've only raced hands guys over
- 34:27Angola once, but I mean, I wasn't the quickest car.
- 34:31I was within the 10th of them. But it just that day just sucked
- 34:35in general weather wise and just the whole experience.
- 34:38But it wasn't the tracks fault. They stuck it out and I went
- 34:42real quick. I want to give kudos to them
- 34:44with the crowd count that they had.
- 34:46I know the car count wasn't the best for Street stocks at night.
- 34:49There's only seven of us, but the crowd count that stuck
- 34:53through the weather was awesome to see.
- 34:57And it just shows that people are still wanting to go watch if
- 35:01their tracks are wanting to honor, put the backbone into it
- 35:06and say, hey, we're going to try to push our best through to get
- 35:08this show in and. I know that was a long night for
- 35:13a lot of people, but that's one of the things that you saw on
- 35:16Facebook all over is, you know, big kudos, you know, 2 push
- 35:21through and get that going. You know, it could have been
- 35:23easy to pull the plug right and say, well, everybody packed up
- 35:27and head on home. You know, we gave it to good old
- 35:30college try, but they they push through in didn't they get most
- 35:34of the races in if not all of the races in that.
- 35:36Next, all the features, yeah. Yep, we got all of them in and
- 35:39it just, and like I said that that was no dig towards any
- 35:42track in particular. It's just they, it's that deal
- 35:47or no deal that you're going to play and they chose deal.
- 35:51We're going to try to stick it out and fortunately it worked
- 35:55out. So, and I know we're we're
- 35:58getting close here on time, you know, with Leah coming on in
- 36:02just a little bit. So one thing that I wanted to
- 36:05know, you know, you've highlighted a lot of different
- 36:08memories, you know, not only growing up and in your career,
- 36:11what it takes to be a championship competitor, the
- 36:13life lessons you learn and all these things.
- 36:15So all of this time that you spent at the track, what are
- 36:18some of those memories that stand out to you that even on
- 36:21those toughest days, you're like, but This is why it's fun
- 36:25and This is why we keep coming back.
- 36:30Oh, I guess you could say. I mean, like I said earlier, the
- 36:35addiction to go race if, if we didn't love, if we didn't love
- 36:42what we were doing, we wouldn't do it.
- 36:44I mean, that's just plain and simple.
- 36:46If you expected to be dandelions and roses all the time at the
- 36:50racetrack, everyone and their mother would still be doing it.
- 36:54It it's tough and I think it it gives you a good life lesson to
- 37:01learn throughout your life. If you want to work towards
- 37:05something to get better, you got to work hard at it.
- 37:07You can't just give up and I think favorite, one of the
- 37:14favorite memories wise is I just remember one first couple years
- 37:20I started racing and just we didn't have the fancy in clothes
- 37:26at the time and I was just starting just the open trailer
- 37:30and when it rained, you covered up your seat and air cleaner.
- 37:34When it didn't, you just. It was neat to haul home and if
- 37:38you did good that night, you felt good and it just.
- 37:44It. Knowing what hard work goes into
- 37:47it is what makes it feel good at the end of the night, as long as
- 37:50it pays off. So we're getting close to the
- 37:54740 hour. We always ask all of our drivers
- 37:57what are the main sponsors that help you out and the crew
- 38:00members that turn the wrenches that make this possible for you.
- 38:04Classic seamless gutters. Load and go pilot dash for cash
- 38:10razz dash for cash razzes Granger lawn mower place, King's
- 38:16collision, Spiller's towing and unlocks pro strip matinee
- 38:23transmission repair hoax graphics are just.
- 38:28Fortunately, a few of people that are Would that help this
- 38:33thing go in circles, But I mean, mainly my the crew was my wife
- 38:40is my biggest supporter, my biggest critic, but my biggest
- 38:43supporter, my mother-in-law is there every week.
- 38:47And, and it's hard because with family going and helping because
- 38:51obviously when we race with each other, we try to help, but not
- 38:57all the time. We're going to the same
- 38:58racetrack. So you got to split up.
- 39:02Kevin Todd, he used to race. He comes in, he's been helping
- 39:06me now for the last 04 or five years now and he, he's not able
- 39:15to make it all the time because I, I don't run close to home
- 39:17form and it's hard, but it's it, he still helps out whenever he
- 39:24can and it's very much appreciated.
- 39:25I mean, you see everyone on the car, everyone that goes to the
- 39:30track. I mean, and some nights we don't
- 39:34like the track owners, promoters, whatever it is, but
- 39:37and other nights we love them. But I mean, we have to be
- 39:39thankful for them because they're the ones putting their
- 39:41neck out on the line to keep a place for us to go race.
- 39:45If it wasn't for all the track owners and promoters, I mean it,
- 39:49we wouldn't have somewhere to take our toys to go play with in
- 39:52in hindsight. Absolutely.
- 39:56Well, we greatly appreciate you tonight and the great interview
- 39:59as Tina said. Lewis, I think we probably need
- 40:02to bring him back on for another episode here in a couple weeks
- 40:05and dive deeper into the family history.
- 40:08Anything in closing Nick, before we we move on?
- 40:13No, I just want to say thanks for the opportunity to come on
- 40:15and after I jump off here, I gotta go finish fixing things so
- 40:19I can go fix a few more repairs that I keep finding.
- 40:23But hopefully we'll see we we might end up somewhere this
- 40:27weekend. I don't plan on it as of right
- 40:28now. It all depends on if it gets
- 40:32done in time. As of right now, my next race
- 40:35will be for sure will be Owosso next week on June 13th.
- 40:40So we'll go from there. And where can people really
- 40:44quick for social media cuz you're talking about you know,
- 40:46where they, you know where you might go or where you might be.
- 40:49So how can people know the latest and greatest things that
- 40:51are happening with Nick Streamy Racing?
- 40:55On I've got a Nick Streamy Racing page on Facebook.
- 41:00I try sharing it on my personal page as well after I make a post
- 41:04on there. If my wife makes a post, we try
- 41:07helping promote that track where we're going that week.
- 41:11And because I mean, like I said, if no fans show up, it's hard
- 41:15for us to go do what we love to do.
- 41:18So next time you're racing on Facebook and then like I said,
- 41:23I'll share it on my personal page 9 times out of 10 after I
- 41:26make a post on there. Well, that's one thing that, you
- 41:30know, I always, anytime that you're at a track with me or, or
- 41:34like when you have a GoPro, whatever, maybe it's always, you
- 41:37know, trying to tag. I've had a lot of drivers.
- 41:39Benny Miller's been in here. He raced at Corgan yesterday and
- 41:42he was one of the ones that said, man, every time you tag
- 41:45our page, we get a little bit of a hit from it.
- 41:47So keep doing that 'cause you know, it just helps.
- 41:50Oh, I can't promise followers, but at least people might click
- 41:53on that page and just see what's going on or what's happening or
- 41:55who's that. So go follow.
- 41:59If if we had if we had the old page, it'd still be fine, but
- 42:01that that page got hacked and we had to restart the new one so it
- 42:06so. Yeah, that's my biggest fear.
- 42:10My biggest one is I don't have time to rebuild this from
- 42:13scratch so. You know.
- 42:15I did. I might retire if that were to
- 42:17happen, but like in Nick, I know you got to go hand route and and
- 42:20and get the car ready for potential.
- 42:23We can show up maybe a new Paris on Saturday, but if not,
- 42:26definitely to get ready for the Big O next Saturday at Owosso
- 42:30Speedway when you return there. And is your dad gonna race there
- 42:33again next week too? I believe so I I would assume so
- 42:37I. I mean.
- 42:38I wouldn't say why not, we'll put it that way, but thank you
- 42:43guys for having me on and thanks again for every time you're at
- 42:47the track and I am. You always offer a Ink Car
- 42:51camera, which I love because then I get to go back and learn
- 42:54from it and it's always nice to have it in there.
- 42:58Oh, and and you know, I'm a big fan of yours.
- 43:00I've even said this on the show many, many times that, you know,
- 43:03I'm a big fan of you, big fan of your family.
- 43:05So so again, I definitely appreciate you, you know, being
- 43:08willing to come on to the Monday night rewind and and do a
- 43:12introduction to Nick streamy. But like Drew said, we'll
- 43:15definitely have to bring you back on.
- 43:16But before we go, I feel like, you know, Leah, I if, if I may
- 43:20bring her on. She's a big streamy fan.
- 43:23She was already in the this play out.
- 43:26You know, she's a big streamy fan.
- 43:28So Leah, before Nick goes, I know he has to go hammer stuff
- 43:31out. Did you have a question for him
- 43:33or anything you wanted to say as a big streamy fan?
- 43:37Can you guys see me 'cause I can't see myself?
- 43:39OK. Yeah, perfectly.
- 43:41Yeah. OK, just good luck with your
- 43:44season and you know I love your family.
- 43:47Oh yeah. I will, I will never forget the
- 43:49drive by COVID birthday from your dad to my son so you guys
- 43:56are always special to me. Oh yeah, he's that I I haven't
- 44:01personally been able to meet Timmy yet.
- 44:03There he is. Because nine times out of 10, I
- 44:07was racing on nights when Dad would come up and race and I, I
- 44:10don't even think I've been able to meet you or Tim in person.
- 44:15It just every time I was able to come it, it was nice to be able
- 44:19to come up and have fun. Yeah, I I love your family.
- 44:22You guys are great people. Thank you very much.
- 44:25Well, and, and Crystal's on here another I'm a fan of and she's
- 44:30saying, oh, hi, Timmy. So Crystal's tremie another, you
- 44:34know, one of those legacy, you know, legacy people who you'll
- 44:37see at the track. I mean, she's out there changing
- 44:40tires and everything else. So I always say they're all
- 44:42working in the pit area. If they're if they have a Tremie
- 44:45name or they're with the tremies, they're working so.
- 44:48And one from all five of us were under the car, under my car
- 44:51Saturday. So yeah.
- 44:54Speaking of the next generation of workers, Timmy was working at
- 44:57Hartford Speedway last Friday and I think he got a great
- 45:00check. That's awesome.
- 45:03Heck. Yeah, Timmy.
- 45:07You did a great job. Good.
- 45:10All good, good, but but again, Nick, thank you so much for
- 45:12joining. Us, yeah.
- 45:13Thank you, Nick. Yeah, and definitely I'll see
- 45:16you it sounds like at least Saturday at New Paris with or
- 45:19without a car. So that's.
- 45:22Hopefully with the car, but if not I will definitely be there
- 45:25helping a buddy of mine and hopefully having fun.
- 45:31Yeah, I mean, and it's Amish country that we get to have fun
- 45:33in, so, you know, can't plane too much but but again, I know
- 45:38you got to camera out. I will let you do that and we're
- 45:40going to hop on over to all Hartford Speedway World of
- 45:44Outlaw racing. So Nick, if you're looking to do
- 45:46something on a Friday night, if you you know Corgan oils
- 45:50possibility, if not certainly World of Outlaws over at
- 45:53Hartford, where I think a majority of people are going to
- 45:55be inside and. It's.
- 45:57The first time since July 12th, 2019.
- 45:59So it I hope. I hope so.
- 46:01I hope you guys get a very good turn out.
- 46:03If I'm not able to make that, I hope you guys do.
- 46:05Thank you, I appreciate it. All right, so Lee, Are you ready
- 46:09to hammer this down? Yep.
- 46:11All right, so everybody I know for Hartford page, we've been
- 46:14talking about it and and saying, hey, you know, you're seeing us
- 46:17live and you're probably what the heck is this?
- 46:19That's because we got it set up for Leah.
- 46:21She's going to be talking about the world about law trip that is
- 46:24coming up this Friday night at the Hartford Speedway again for
- 46:27the first time since 2019. So all Hartford fans who've been
- 46:31waiting around hope you'll not. I hope you not only enjoyed the
- 46:35interview with Nick Sharmi, but just know every Monday night on
- 46:38Topper Racing Media National Compact Touring Series and over
- 46:41on YouTube Topper Racing Media. We have a show every Monday
- 46:44night and it definitely gets a lot of views.
- 46:46So we can, you know, bring, you know, if you're interested.
- 46:49In coming off, you can come back on a minute, OK.
- 46:51Yep, come on. Oh, he could drink.
- 46:54But definitely hope you enjoyed the interview with Nick.
- 46:57And and now it's World of Outlaws and and jumping into
- 47:00that. So Leah, everybody has had this
- 47:02circled, I think since the very beginning.
- 47:05So. It's here now, so how are you
- 47:08feeling about it? It's woo week.
- 47:11Super, super excited. It's a really big deal.
- 47:16You know, they're the greatest show on dirt.
- 47:18So yeah, I'm really excited. Lots to do this week and to get
- 47:21everything ready. So do you want to talk a little
- 47:25bit about what it takes to get ready for a show of this
- 47:28caliber? Because you've had Great Lakes
- 47:30Super Sprints and that's nothing against Great Lakes Super
- 47:32Sprints, but Great Lakes Super Sprints and World of Outlaws are
- 47:35very different, you know, levels.
- 47:37And so they, they share drivers, but you know, they very
- 47:41different operation levels and, and the work that it takes into
- 47:45this. So do you want to give a little
- 47:46bit, peel the onion back just a little bit on what it takes to
- 47:48get ready for this kind of show? Sure.
- 47:51Well, so Tim is at the track as we speak.
- 47:54That's why you guys get me tonight instead of Tim and I'm
- 47:58I'm trying to beat his ratings, you know.
- 48:00So anyway, with those ratings. But anyway, we had the new clay
- 48:05put on as everybody knows it. It wasn't up to Tim.
- 48:09Standard's tried and tried and tried.
- 48:14So we had races, you know, the last couple weeks.
- 48:17The track was a really good last Friday for the Midwest show.
- 48:23So it'll it should be near perfect and up to Tim standards
- 48:28for Friday night for the World of Outlaws.
- 48:31So lots, lots of track work. I will be up there getting the
- 48:36grandstands nice and clean myself.
- 48:41I'll have, you know, like all the huge food orders coming in,
- 48:46all the beer coming in. I'm trying to think what all you
- 48:49know, of course the grounds will be in tip top shape.
- 48:54And yeah. Which it always is.
- 48:58I mean, that's one thing you guys for a dirty facility, you
- 49:02have a clean facility. Right.
- 49:04And, and that's something that, you know, you walk through, you
- 49:06can tell that there's a lot of care that goes into the Hartford
- 49:09Speedway property from the moment you pull in to the time
- 49:13you get into the bleachers. And so, you know, that's
- 49:16something that it's, it's always interesting that you're in a
- 49:19dirt track, but when you show up, you can't always tell except
- 49:22for the track in front of you that it's a dirt track.
- 49:25Right. So again, kudos to you and I
- 49:27know sometimes you're out there even with your flame torch.
- 49:30Yes, I did. I did that too.
- 49:32I need to probably get that back out before this week, but we'll
- 49:36see if time permits. Now, you mentioned beer and I,
- 49:39oh, it looked like you was going to say something.
- 49:41Sorry. Drew but.
- 49:42But since you brought up beer, Kay said the Mondays doing in
- 49:47that case. We'll just go for it and people
- 49:50will be upset. But get off now and we'll apply.
- 49:53That's OK. It's all right.
- 49:55So this show and this show only for the first time, I said seven
- 50:01or eight years. For the first time in seven
- 50:02years, you cannot bring a cooler because we will be selling
- 50:06alcohol. So legally you cannot bring in
- 50:11alcohol. And I got alcohol.
- 50:14Yep. So you cannot bring.
- 50:19What we will allow you to bring in is a empty one of our
- 50:23Hartford Speedway cups. This is last year's a empty one
- 50:27because we do sell these and you get a dollar refill as many
- 50:30times as you want every every time we're open so you can bring
- 50:34this that way we don't have to risk that you're bringing
- 50:38alcohol. We don't have room for coolers
- 50:41because you know, the seats are a average size seat so there's
- 50:44no room for coolers anyway. We have our concessions open so
- 50:48we'd never allow outside food and we typically do allow
- 50:51coolers. We typically allow alcohol, but
- 50:55that this show we do not. So you are not allowed to bring
- 50:58any coolers, no cups, just these.
- 51:01We've kept it very, very, in my opinion, very reasonably priced.
- 51:08We will be having Miller Lite and lots of choices.
- 51:11Miller Lite draft and Smirnoff's coolers on the West End, $6 each
- 51:18for a 16 ounce draft. And then on the East End we'll
- 51:21be having cans of beer, Bud Light, Bush Light and Michelob
- 51:27Ultra and the Smirnoff's coolers on the East End, all only $6.00.
- 51:32So I feel like I said to me that's extremely cheap.
- 51:38That's Tim, Tim, like make set the prices there.
- 51:42So yeah, the it's, it's very reasonable.
- 51:45We have our soft drinks are big. I think it's a 24 oz cups for
- 51:48our soft drinks. Those are only 350 bottle of
- 51:52water, $2.00, Gatorade 350, all of those.
- 51:57Everything is cash. The the beer sales are cash.
- 52:00Our concessions are cash you anyway.
- 52:05Yeah. So no coolers this time.
- 52:09One and only time you cannot bring a cooler.
- 52:11Sorry. And let's.
- 52:12Be let's be realistically, if you were charging the prices,
- 52:15they would be Ford Field prices. So kudos to Tim for keeping the
- 52:20price. But.
- 52:22I paid I paid $14.00 for a beer to dirt track recently so.
- 52:27Yeah, I, you know, we, yeah, I think, I think that's extremely
- 52:32reasonable for nobody should be complaining about that.
- 52:35My, my point is, as all the Nancy's and the whiners on
- 52:38social media, you you're getting a deal compared to wherever you
- 52:41would be Eldora, you're going to be paying $14.00 a beer.
- 52:44Any other race track you would be paying $10 a beer, $12.00 a
- 52:48beer. So they have the most reasonable
- 52:51price concessions there. I had a BBQ sandwich with
- 52:54coleslaw on it that was really good in the concession.
- 52:58She had a walking Taco for $8 or $7.00 last week.
- 53:01So Hartford always works on those food specials and and
- 53:05makes it fair for their fans. Yeah.
- 53:09You know what? You you're gonna pay big money
- 53:11to see a big show. That's just the fact of life
- 53:15with the World of Outlaws wherever they go.
- 53:19So my my point where I'm getting at is just be quiet, pay your
- 53:23money, enjoy the greatest show on dirt, have some great food at
- 53:26Hartford Speedway, drink a cold beer with your friend, and go
- 53:29hang out with Leah and Timmy. Thanks.
- 53:35Thank you so much. Yeah, I think we're all waiting
- 53:37for Timmy to make an appearance. Here we go, I.
- 53:40Just came away for a bit it. Was like that.
- 53:42It was that like pause, like he's going to make an appearance
- 53:48so. Leah, real quick.
- 53:49So it's, it's gonna be a big crowd.
- 53:52We, we know that. So let's talk about the
- 53:54amenities at Hartford Speedway. Your parking, your ticket boost,
- 53:57your pit pass window. So people know that any excess
- 54:01parking, so they're not parking in the neighbor's yard.
- 54:03So if they can't find a spot at Hartford Speedway, where else
- 54:07can they? They find a parking spot and
- 54:09stuff like that. The road behind the track.
- 54:13You can park down the street. You know, the road behind the
- 54:16track and then across the way from the East End entrance there
- 54:20is a like walking trail. Van Buren State Park is right
- 54:26over there. You can, you can park over
- 54:29there. It is a bit of a walk, but it's
- 54:30not super far. But we do have a lot of parking.
- 54:34We do have handicap parking on each entrance too.
- 54:38But like I said, you can park, you know, down that road if you
- 54:41wish or, you know, across the way just so you're not parking
- 54:45in. And sometimes some of the
- 54:46neighbors put up signs and you could pay to park in your yard.
- 54:52I don't know if they're doing that.
- 54:52And our our parking is always free.
- 54:56We do have free, we do have free camping all the time.
- 55:02There's no hookups, but that is free.
- 55:04And the West side. OK, in the West side, general
- 55:10admission parking. But yeah, so like I said there,
- 55:14there's there's plenty of parking.
- 55:16OK. All right.
- 55:19They're listen, they have to hear mom talking.
- 55:22Thank you. If you want to talk about
- 55:28bathrooms, ticket booths, pit pass.
- 55:32If people want to get a pit pass, like if you want to go
- 55:34over that, because that's the one thing that I always like to
- 55:37explain to people with Hartford, if you see it on the left side,
- 55:40that's on the right side. But if people haven't been
- 55:43there, they may not know that. So if you want to kind of talk
- 55:45about your layout and then obviously in the middle, you
- 55:48know where most where all your pretty much all your concession
- 55:51food is the self-serve line and all that.
- 55:53So if you want to, for those who may not been to Hartford or have
- 55:55you been there in a while, if you want to kind of talk a
- 55:57little bit about that and in the golf carts for those who need
- 55:59that. Thank you.
- 56:00Yeah, We have the concessions down in the in the pits that
- 56:05you're, they're easy access. There's restrooms down there
- 56:08too. They're all indoor restrooms.
- 56:09No, no porta potties. There's golf carts that can take
- 56:13you up on each side of our grandstands.
- 56:16There are, there will be 3 concessions selling food up top
- 56:22in the in the grandstands. The souvenir booth is up top in
- 56:26the grandstands. The grandstands ticket booths
- 56:29open at 2:00. I'm sorry I said that wrong.
- 56:33The grandstands open at 4:00. The pit entrance opens at 2.
- 56:38Pits at 2, grandstands at 4 this week.
- 56:43Anyway, like I said, 3 concession stands up top, one
- 56:45down below. There's east and West side,
- 56:49Plenty of restrooms, indoor restrooms up top.
- 56:52You want me to go over some pricing?
- 56:56Pricing and then especially for grandstand, while we're all in
- 57:00the grandstand, obviously top rows reserved for the top row,
- 57:05that's for the people who said at the top row and reserved that
- 57:07for season passing, but you got picnic tables there, then you
- 57:11have reserved mark seating and then below is general.
- 57:14So if you want to talk all about that and the prices for all of
- 57:17that. Too.
- 57:17Thank you. Yes.
- 57:18OK. So up top we have two handicap
- 57:21seatings on each side. Up top the West side, it's a
- 57:24mirror image of the West and E, the picnic tables are first
- 57:28come, first serve. The handicap spots are first
- 57:30come, first serve. The very top row with a very
- 57:35large numbers on them, those are reserve lawn chair seats.
- 57:40Those have been purchased preseason for the entire season.
- 57:44Those have been sold out. So on on the website.
- 57:50If you're purchasing on the website, if you purchased row
- 57:53one, technically that is the row right below our reserved seats.
- 57:59So it's row one. It's not the very top row, it's
- 58:02right below that. So unless you purchase that top
- 58:06row seat, that's the only spot you can actually have a chair.
- 58:09You can have a stadium chair with no legs, seat cushion,
- 58:13blanket. We have nice cement seating.
- 58:17You're not going to fall through.
- 58:18It's fairly comfortable in the middle.
- 58:23We are keeping our family section open right in the middle
- 58:27of the grandstands and you cannot drink alcohol or smoke
- 58:32cigarettes in that area. So that's all our family
- 58:34section. Let's see.
- 58:40And that's also clearly marked too, like you have.
- 58:42Signs. There's sign, there's Yep,
- 58:45there's signs all over. So the general admission cost,
- 58:51if you buy the tickets in advance, it's the same price.
- 58:56But if you want to get a reserved seat slash pit combo,
- 59:02you can get those up to noon the day of and those are $52 and
- 59:09it's a combo. It's only it's only $7.00 more
- 59:14to to do it that way. That's for adults.
- 59:18And then the race day prices, adult general admission is 49
- 59:23and pit passes are 50 and the children's reserve zero to 12
- 59:29years old is 25 and then the pit passes are 25.
- 59:33Like I said, if you buy it online you save money by getting
- 59:37the combo reserve seat and pit pass price.
- 59:41If you do it that way by noon the general admission adult
- 59:45prices is are 45. The kids 6 to 12 is 25.
- 59:51That's race day price and then 5 and under are free.
- 59:57And are the pre sale tickets, are those like virtual tickets?
- 1:00:00Are the is that how that being scanned?
- 1:00:02Are they do they get mailed or is it will call like how does?
- 1:00:04That they're at will call and the thank you for asking that
- 1:00:07the will call will be at the West End ticket booth, which is
- 1:00:10the white ticket booth nearest the pits.
- 1:00:13The will call will be there, but you absolutely can purchase your
- 1:00:18ticket the day of the event and you can use a credit card this
- 1:00:23day only. We typically don't take credit
- 1:00:25cards that are ticket boots. You can use your credit card or
- 1:00:27cash and you may purchase them the date of the event as well.
- 1:00:32Oh, that's good to know because obviously and I think you had a
- 1:00:36change like that for monster trucks too or monster trucks for
- 1:00:38doing credit cards and that's not a usual Friday night thing,
- 1:00:42but Friday just to re highlight that for people at the ticket
- 1:00:46booth, you can use cash or card. But when you once you get inside
- 1:00:52those beautiful gates there on east or West side, then it's
- 1:00:55turns into cash only except that your souvenir stand where they
- 1:00:58can get cash back on their purchases.
- 1:01:01So do you want to talk a little bit about even that process of
- 1:01:04like the souvenir stand and where that's located for those
- 1:01:06who are maybe needing cash once they get past those gates?
- 1:01:11Yep. The souvenir booth is up in at
- 1:01:13the very top of the grandstands inside the concourse where all
- 1:01:16of our concessions are located. And we have all of our new
- 1:01:21merchandise up there for sale. And if you buy, if you make a
- 1:01:27$25 purchase, you can get cash back.
- 1:01:29So if you don't bring enough cash, didn't realize that we
- 1:01:34only take cash if you buy a purchase, we'll give you as much
- 1:01:38cash as you'd like. So.
- 1:01:42Well, and that's again, and that's helpful and all your
- 1:01:44stuff in the concourse too is labeled like you have a sign, a
- 1:01:48man, you have a sign for the kid zone or not, not kid zone, but
- 1:01:52the kids corner, you know, I mean, all of this is labeled
- 1:01:55too. So if you're not sure where
- 1:01:57you're going when you're in that main concourse up top, again,
- 1:02:00the wings, I call it the wings. The wings are identical.
- 1:02:03Bathrooms are immediate to each side of the building.
- 1:02:05And then there's like a small little outdoor concession on
- 1:02:08those sides, right? Like that's all pretty mere, but
- 1:02:11on the inside that's all labeled.
- 1:02:13So if you don't know where you're going, it'll tell you.
- 1:02:16Just look on you. Know I like signage.
- 1:02:20Yeah, and that's something, I mean, again, you guys do a
- 1:02:23really incredible job there with the facility where if someone's
- 1:02:28lost, it's like, OK, just you'll find your way.
- 1:02:32And and that's where I think a lot of people probably don't
- 1:02:35think about seating at Hartford. And so for those buying a
- 1:02:37ticket, row one starts just below the top row.
- 1:02:41So if you go, if you come in from the bottom and you're
- 1:02:44looking for row one, you're furthest away.
- 1:02:47Yes, Yep. And the the the top half of our
- 1:02:52stands are all reserved and then the general admission tickets
- 1:02:55are the bottom half of the stands.
- 1:02:58So I would I would highly suggest getting a reserve seat
- 1:03:03so you can sit in the top half of the stands and those are.
- 1:03:09Leah, quick question for you. So you do have some picnic
- 1:03:12tables that are up top. Those are first come first
- 1:03:15serve, correct for this. Yeah.
- 1:03:17So if anybody wanted to sit up top and reserve a picnic table,
- 1:03:21probably get there when the gates open and politely don't,
- 1:03:26don't be throwing people over the hill to to get to it.
- 1:03:28But another thing to kind of think of is Hartford Speedway.
- 1:03:33Their staff is very friendly. Lewis mentioned it earlier.
- 1:03:36They give you golf cart rides if you can't make it up the hill.
- 1:03:39There's bathrooms that are located on each side, correct of
- 1:03:43the corridors, the east and the West.
- 1:03:45Also there are pit bathrooms down there.
- 1:03:49What, what are you most excited about the World of Outlaw show
- 1:03:53other than selling a lot of merch and hamburgers?
- 1:03:56This is a This is a This is a GET event cause not every track
- 1:04:01gets a World of Outlaw date, let alone it's the only one in the
- 1:04:03state of Michigan. Right.
- 1:04:06There's not any one thing specifically that I'm excited
- 1:04:09about, but I'm just excited that they chose our track to come
- 1:04:13because people are always asking for them to come back.
- 1:04:15And you know, the fact that they picked Hartford to come to is
- 1:04:19pretty cool. It's been a long time so I'm
- 1:04:22just looking forward to them coming back.
- 1:04:27Are any of your favorite local Sprint car drivers coming to
- 1:04:30race in this event that you're aware of?
- 1:04:32Thanks for asking. I believe my very favorite,
- 1:04:36which is no secret Ryan rule, I think is joining us.
- 1:04:41Yeah, I'm, I'm, I'm sure there's others, but I mean, that is my
- 1:04:45favorite since you're asked, but.
- 1:04:48I knew that. That's why I asked.
- 1:04:51You were doing some work earlier on some names that are are
- 1:04:53coming and you have a beautiful list of names that you were able
- 1:04:55to get with the World of Outlaws.
- 1:04:57So other than your local legend, who has come and who I you
- 1:05:01Facetimed you for like a birthday wish at one time.
- 1:05:05What? What?
- 1:05:06Who else is coming that you know of?
- 1:05:09Do you want to go down the list or do you want me to I'll.
- 1:05:12Have you go down the list? OK, I do have.
- 1:05:14I think I Oh yeah, 'cause you sent it to me, but.
- 1:05:16Yeah, two time defending champion David Gravel will be
- 1:05:21there. 10 time series champ Donnie Schatz will be there.
- 1:05:28I'm going to. I'm going to mess up the rest of
- 1:05:30the names. Can you help me out?
- 1:05:32You're a teacher. Oh, all right, let me.
- 1:05:34Let me open it up. I wasn't prepared for that one.
- 1:05:37That's my. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 1:05:39Oh no, hey, I threw a curveball at you, so it's only fair that
- 1:05:42you OK. It's not your fault.
- 1:05:47You texted it to me, not on Facebook.
- 1:05:49You sent it. I'm I'm, I'm going to screw up
- 1:05:51the name, but isn't it Hatsun's child?
- 1:05:54That's what I wanted you to say because I know and.
- 1:05:56Shield. Oh, Oh yeah.
- 1:05:58Thank you, Wayne. I'm sorry about that.
- 1:06:00I'm so sorry. If Wayne Bunn was on here, he
- 1:06:03would, yeah. He's watching, he he did tag in,
- 1:06:06he is watching, but I know that doesn't help us in the chat.
- 1:06:10Right. Yeah.
- 1:06:12But Boujou's turned into kind of a dirt track fan a little bit.
- 1:06:15He's been converted by some of his friends.
- 1:06:17And so don't you have that T-shirt, Boujou?
- 1:06:19Don't you have one of his T-shirts?
- 1:06:22I have a Sammy Swindell T-shirt. Oh, Sammy Swindell, all right.
- 1:06:25Yeah, Sammy's not at the world level anymore, unfortunately.
- 1:06:30If there was a senior to her, he would be.
- 1:06:32Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I mean, they're what I mean
- 1:06:35just hearing shots, right? I mean just.
- 1:06:39David David Gravel's arguably the best Sprint car driver in
- 1:06:42the world right now. Donnie Schatz, like she said,
- 1:06:43ten time champion, maybe one of the best ever and hod and shield
- 1:06:47A. Yeah.
- 1:06:48Thank you. Stout list of names for sure.
- 1:06:51Yeah, now is for those who may be wondering, is there anything
- 1:06:55else racing that night with the Roll of Outlaws?
- 1:06:56Sometimes, yes. We have our amazing Super
- 1:07:00Trooper class. Let's not forget them, yes?
- 1:07:03Yep. So they get to so they're super
- 1:07:06sows and no Farvas, no Farvas allowed, just go race.
- 1:07:12They they are one of the strongest car count classes at
- 1:07:16Hartford on a weekly basis with the cyber stocks, they put on
- 1:07:19one of the best shows. There's Ely's, there's Zelmers,
- 1:07:23there's Mccraig's, there's so many names in that class.
- 1:07:29There was a, a Zelmer that won $1000.
- 1:07:32I, I, I, I, I'm gonna apologize. There's like 17 Zelmers that
- 1:07:35race there. So, George.
- 1:07:38George Zelmer. Yes, as we call him, Maddie
- 1:07:40Daddy. #25 right, He races the number 25.
- 1:07:45Yep. Yep.
- 1:07:47Austin Salisbury I think is another name that races there.
- 1:07:51Yeah, Yep, the very underrated class.
- 1:07:55Very underrated, very watch. Yes, Yep.
- 1:08:00And you've been having a really healthy count again with those.
- 1:08:04So do you want to, for those who may be watching, obviously we're
- 1:08:07live on your Hartford page, so the Hartford fans are going to
- 1:08:09know it. But for those who maybe they go
- 1:08:11to Kalamazoo on a Friday night or they go elsewhere on a Friday
- 1:08:14night and they may not get to Hartford when they say Super
- 1:08:17Troopers who are talking about Crown Vics.
- 1:08:19And so. So that's a Crown Victoria and
- 1:08:22Hartford out of all the tracks and area.
- 1:08:24This is not a knock at any track.
- 1:08:25Trust me, it's not. But Hartford has had the most
- 1:08:28consistent, healthiest Crown Victoria.
- 1:08:31Obviously M 40s kind of making a a run this year.
- 1:08:34They've had a a pretty good counts the last couple times
- 1:08:38after what what I was able to do to help that out on April 11th
- 1:08:43when I got them 17 for the first time ever gave them a big count
- 1:08:48and they've kept that so that maybe we introduced a lot of
- 1:08:50people to the M40 that hadn't been there.
- 1:08:52But but your track has certainly been super healthy.
- 1:08:55So do you want to give people an idea of like, I mean, we
- 1:08:59mentioned some of the names like George Zalmer.
- 1:09:01There's a lot of Zalmers you have.
- 1:09:02Not to say Dan Williams are checking last year.
- 1:09:05We can't forget him. So I was going to say if you
- 1:09:07wanted to mention some of those names who people should listen
- 1:09:10for when they. I think I, I feel like, I feel
- 1:09:15like we got most of them on Brian, Brian Gage, full Gage.
- 1:09:21All right, here I got a list because we got.
- 1:09:24Some great I. Think, I think I, I think I hit
- 1:09:26everybody. I think.
- 1:09:28So we got to give some shout outs to the female racers.
- 1:09:30It's Christina McRae. Yes, I said her.
- 1:09:36Madison Zomer. Yeah.
- 1:09:38Oh my gosh, Maddie. Yeah.
- 1:09:40And the and and then I'm not these.
- 1:09:44Well, they're, they're names that could go both ways.
- 1:09:46So I don't want to insult anybody here, but do you know
- 1:09:49any other female drivers anymore?
- 1:09:50Zelmers or? See.
- 1:09:55Look, look. Bobby Mccaig's girlfriend is
- 1:09:58racing now. Skyler.
- 1:10:02Look, I'm Skyler Zelmer. No, that's that.
- 1:10:05That is a Zelmer. But no, sorry I'm I'm blank.
- 1:10:10We'll just go right down the list.
- 1:10:12You got Skyler Zelmer, Ryan Zelmer, Madison Zelmer, George
- 1:10:16Zelmer, Junior Dan Williams, Jeffrey Weber, Corey Tom Morgan,
- 1:10:20Smith, Austin Salisbury, John Ross and Junior John.
- 1:10:24Papa Daniel, Papa Steve Opanier, Christian or Krista Mccraig,
- 1:10:29Bobby Mccraig, Junior, Eric Markovich, Lucas James, Mike
- 1:10:32Ely, Skylar Brady and Josh Beaching were all there.
- 1:10:36Gosh, look at me, I I got about half of them.
- 1:10:38I'm terrible. And you're on the other side of
- 1:10:40the fence. That's actually.
- 1:10:41Pretty good mall too, but I'm like Oh yeah, I.
- 1:10:44Know where a lot of those summer cars parked?
- 1:10:45They're right across from Lakeshore High Schools, Betty
- 1:10:48Collins Sports Complex and now Stockton Stadium.
- 1:10:51So if you go down Cleveland Ave., you'll see a lot of those
- 1:10:53Crown Vics right there in the heart of Stevensville,
- 1:10:56especially if you go to Betty Cone Complex or the corns, the
- 1:11:00Cone Sports Complex right here, you'll see them all parked
- 1:11:02there. So it's like free advertising
- 1:11:04for Hartford because they're literally right there along the
- 1:11:06road on Cleveland. So and somewhere like Show Body
- 1:11:10Shop too. So if you go to supermarket and
- 1:11:12you turn left to right on Cleveland, you're like, what's
- 1:11:14that over there? Just another Crown Victoria
- 1:11:18sitting up on the trailer. So I know they are a huge
- 1:11:20supporter of of Hartford and I try to keep that out every time,
- 1:11:23not only because I went with Danny Papa.
- 1:11:26So you know, that's that's something that you know, you
- 1:11:28just know a lot of the people in the community.
- 1:11:30So I always try to give them a a shout out, but that's where it's
- 1:11:34like, hey, this is the platform to do it right.
- 1:11:36You know, let's help sell the show even more because I mean,
- 1:11:38World of Outlaws already going to do that.
- 1:11:40But then the have your super troopers go out there and put on
- 1:11:43a show. You did that last year, almost a
- 1:11:46year ago with your night of destruction where you had the
- 1:11:48Super troopers come out and do you know a race there.
- 1:11:51Do you think you guys would ever do something like that again
- 1:11:53where you, you know, spotlight a class and then do night
- 1:11:57destruction afterwards? Or was that kind of like a a
- 1:12:00headache to maneuver? No, it it, it was fine.
- 1:12:03But I mean, we, you know, we kind of did that to see if we
- 1:12:08could get more race fans interested in regular race
- 1:12:12nights is why we did it, you know, And, you know, we like to
- 1:12:16give a even amount of races to the Cyberstop guys and to the
- 1:12:21Super Troopers. So that made them even up.
- 1:12:25So yeah. But again, I know this
- 1:12:29everyone's been looking forward to this, to this week and and
- 1:12:32we've Buja and I've been talking about it for weeks, you know,
- 1:12:35since what March, I think is when we first or April when we
- 1:12:38first came out with the Thursday night throttle.
- 1:12:40Then on here, when we had you on here, we in fact, you, you've
- 1:12:44made a lot of appearances on, you know, between Monday night
- 1:12:46rewind and the Thursday night throttle.
- 1:12:48So again, I always appreciate your flexibility and making time
- 1:12:53and appreciate Timmy because I know this cuts into his mom time
- 1:12:55in the evening. But you know, you to come on and
- 1:12:58and, you know, promote, help promote the show because that's
- 1:13:01what this you know that that's what this is for is to, you
- 1:13:04know, hopefully get people to fans to go people and fans, you
- 1:13:07know, to go check out the track. And you know, there's no
- 1:13:10countless zoo competition this week.
- 1:13:11We have a night at or not a instruction.
- 1:13:13I almost messed that up. We have a traditional demolition
- 1:13:15Derby on Saturday, so it's like Friday nights are open for a lot
- 1:13:18of people who would usually be at asphalt.
- 1:13:21Very nice of them to take off too.
- 1:13:23So hopefully, you know, we have a huge crowd and like I said,
- 1:13:26it's supposed to be the greatest show on dirt.
- 1:13:28It is. It is the greatest show on dirt
- 1:13:30so. So we've talked, we've talked a
- 1:13:32lot about the promoting the event.
- 1:13:35Let's talk about the people that are making this happen.
- 1:13:37You talk about your husband being at the racetrack right
- 1:13:39now. He's got a great crew that helps
- 1:13:41him out with the track prep. Then you have a great team that
- 1:13:44helps you with a ticket office, the concession.
- 1:13:46So let's give them some recognition 'cause they
- 1:13:48certainly deserve it. They work hard.
- 1:13:50Well, let me let me say that I forgot my best friend and my
- 1:13:56right hand lady last time that you asked me to give people
- 1:14:00shout out Holly, who, God bless her, does anything and
- 1:14:05everything I ask and has a million roles.
- 1:14:08And so thank you, Holly, like she is amazing.
- 1:14:11But so Tim, always, always his worst critic.
- 1:14:17Yeah, he's there getting the track ready, always mowing,
- 1:14:20fixing things. Wayne Bunn helps with the
- 1:14:23lighting. We're putting up some new
- 1:14:25lighting down in the playground area this week.
- 1:14:30But anyway, so we are putting up some new lighting.
- 1:14:34Let's see. Bradley Graham always there
- 1:14:39getting all of the push trucks ready.
- 1:14:42Tim's getting those ready all the time.
- 1:14:44The Wreckers. Greg Merkel is always there
- 1:14:49helping. Chris has been a big help this
- 1:14:50year. Jack's mowing Troy and Donnie.
- 1:14:57We can't forget them. Roadrunner towing.
- 1:15:03I know I always forget people but and Chesney came back to
- 1:15:07work in the pit window, which is awesome love seeing her again.
- 1:15:11We we have like a super great crew.
- 1:15:14Our my concession crew. The main concession is no lie,
- 1:15:21that's probably my favorite place to be and like just a
- 1:15:23super, super good group in there.
- 1:15:25But anyway, T-shirt booth, my mother-in-law and whoever else
- 1:15:28helps out in there aiming my awesome 5050 girl.
- 1:15:32But I have, you know, on these nights.
- 1:15:34Oh, and Timmy, my walking Taco maker, a lot of extra, extra
- 1:15:40people that work on Pam Bunn. They're up there working in the
- 1:15:44outside T-shirt booth, My friend Aaron and Pam in the ticket
- 1:15:49booths. They're amazing.
- 1:15:51Another thing, if you're parking down in the East End this week,
- 1:15:54please be kind, follow the stakes in the caution tape if
- 1:16:03they're if you're asked to move your car, please be kind and
- 1:16:06move your car and don't give my ladies any hassle, please.
- 1:16:10They're doing their job and unless you want to get your car
- 1:16:13towed, follow the rules, right? I wouldn't.
- 1:16:18I wouldn't be worried about getting my car towed, I'd
- 1:16:20worried about getting body slammed by a couple of your
- 1:16:22ladies down there. If you get to that.
- 1:16:24I mean, they're, they do a great job for me.
- 1:16:26They're wonderful. We and, you know, we're the
- 1:16:27Disneyland of race tracks. You're gonna feel at home.
- 1:16:30If you have a question, find somebody in a red shirt.
- 1:16:34He saw you doing that. Andy 67 you did that, Lewis did
- 1:16:39that. If you if you need help in any
- 1:16:41way, shape or form every there's people in red T-shirts
- 1:16:45everywhere grab us. I'm up there everywhere if you
- 1:16:49have a question about anything but we just want everybody to
- 1:16:52come have a good time enjoy it hang out with your friends,
- 1:16:55watch some good racing and you know, have a a good night.
- 1:16:59It's going to be beautiful weather and.
- 1:17:02Yeah, back on the play area, zone the area, we won't hatch
- 1:17:07the egg there. But you know, you guys as a
- 1:17:09property, right, you know, as property owners, you have the
- 1:17:12right to remove people. So if they're not going to do
- 1:17:14what they need to do and, and do those things, you know, that's
- 1:17:17where you could say, OK, your car's going to be on the tow
- 1:17:18truck and we're going to park as far away from the track as
- 1:17:20possible and do your walk and don't come back.
- 1:17:22You know, like this is a huge like for people understand this
- 1:17:26is huge for the World of Outlaws to be coming.
- 1:17:28Yeah, yeah, that's a huge deal. They're very selective on where
- 1:17:32they go. They have all the money to be
- 1:17:34selective on where they go, you know, And so if we want these
- 1:17:38kind of events back, you know, at Hartford in the future, this
- 1:17:42is the time to impress. This is the time to pack the
- 1:17:44stands. So they go, damn, we need to
- 1:17:46come back to Michigan more often, right?
- 1:17:48And, you know, and show them, like, World of Outlaws mean a
- 1:17:52lot to this Michigan fan base. You're probably gonna have
- 1:17:54people from several states traveling, you know, for this
- 1:17:57event, especially with the history of Hartford.
- 1:18:00And some of these drivers are going to remember the the other,
- 1:18:04you know, egg that we won't hatch.
- 1:18:05But the wicked half mile, right. So, you know, you know, I know.
- 1:18:10Cool. No coolers.
- 1:18:11We talked about team zone and half mile there.
- 1:18:14I covered your bingo board. Yes, we got it.
- 1:18:17Can I give a shout out to I want to give a shout out to SLS
- 1:18:19Promotions? Yes, I'm the promoter of
- 1:18:21they're, they're amazing. And I work with Tony, he's
- 1:18:25great. And Scotty is the one that
- 1:18:27brought them to us. They're absolutely amazing to
- 1:18:31work with. So a big shout out to them and
- 1:18:34thank you guys for having me on so many times.
- 1:18:38And I would love for everybody to like share this video on
- 1:18:41comments so I can beat Wichter and and I know I already headed
- 1:18:47Tim so that's OK. But no no, I threatened Wichter
- 1:18:50with police and I haven't seen him in the comments again.
- 1:18:52So I told 3400 rubles to get in and then I told him the cops
- 1:18:57were there looking for him last. Week you you guys are a couple
- 1:19:00of my favorites and you know that and I appreciate you so
- 1:19:02much and thank you for letting Timmy join because you know he
- 1:19:04likes to be. So we we got to ask Timmy a
- 1:19:09question. How was it?
- 1:19:10A How was it being an employee at Hartford Speedway last week?
- 1:19:16He loves you, but oh, put here, put that down.
- 1:19:19How did listen? How did you like working at the
- 1:19:22racetrack? Did you like it?
- 1:19:24Yeah. What are you?
- 1:19:27Yes. Was was Mom a nice boss?
- 1:19:30No, I was I. Think you're all in the edge of
- 1:19:35our seat? What's he going to say?
- 1:19:37Right, exactly right. So what's what's Timmy gonna do
- 1:19:43with this first paycheck? What are you gonna do?
- 1:19:46He didn't. He didn't spend yet.
- 1:19:48We did go to Dollar Tree today, and he did buy a couple things.
- 1:19:51Some patriotic things. Good for you.
- 1:19:55Oh, that's for Andy and Lewis. And we, if Buju ever comes, we
- 1:20:00can give him one too, right? Yep.
- 1:20:03Well. Thank you.
- 1:20:07No, thank you guys. Thank you so much.
- 1:20:09And I, we, we appreciate it. And I, no, no thanks.
- 1:20:12I look forward to seeing you, Louis.
- 1:20:16Friday. Andy's got to work.
- 1:20:17Are you coming, Buju? I might be coming.
- 1:20:19I might make the trip up there. OK, All right.
- 1:20:21I hope to meet you. Catch me if you.
- 1:20:24Can. And literally.
- 1:20:27I mean, she's like the zoomies, you know?
- 1:20:29Yeah, you're going to be a busy lady on Friday, so.
- 1:20:33It's my cardio. But, but again, thank you so
- 1:20:37much for taking the time tonight to get on here and, and allowing
- 1:20:40us to, to like I, I, I told Drew, because in order to go
- 1:20:45live also our guest. So Buju, this is good for you to
- 1:20:48know whoever invites someone, they have to have a string yard
- 1:20:52account in order to connect it. So I asked Drew, I said, hey,
- 1:20:55you're already in and I know he has access to the Hartford page.
- 1:20:58So I said, let's help Leah out. Let's get that connected that
- 1:21:01way that took care of it for you.
- 1:21:03So you all you had to do is come in.
- 1:21:05So again, I appreciate all the Hartford fans who maybe didn't
- 1:21:08know about the Monday night rewind and got a chance to
- 1:21:10listen to Nick streaming at the beginning.
- 1:21:11And then I stuck around for you. But definitely like this share
- 1:21:15it out. There's a lot of information in
- 1:21:17here, you know, and it's already on the Hartford page.
- 1:21:20So we don't have to share it to the Hartford page, but
- 1:21:22definitely be able to watch back because there's, like I said,
- 1:21:26there's a lot of good information.
- 1:21:27So again, Leah, as always, thank you so much.
- 1:21:30Thank you tonight and your business, if you like.
- 1:21:34Thank you for joining. Us, would you like to say thank
- 1:21:37you? Thank you.
- 1:21:38Thank you. Thank you so much you guys.
- 1:21:40I appreciate it. Thanks.
- 1:21:42Thank you. Oh, no, you're welcome.
- 1:21:43And again, we've been talking with Leah Dibble since about
- 1:21:477:40, talking about the Hartford Speedway World of Outlaw event
- 1:21:52that's coming up this Friday. Again, for the first time since
- 1:21:54July 12th, 20 or 2019, I almost gave a different wrong answer,
- 1:22:00but July 12th. So again, this is huge for
- 1:22:03Hartford to have the World of Outlaws.
- 1:22:05They're very selective on where they go.
- 1:22:06So don't don't miss an opportunity to take in this
- 1:22:09event. So again Leah, I know you and
- 1:22:12Timmy got to get ready to go to bed so.
- 1:22:15We have no school tomorrow. We got it ready for nothing.
- 1:22:17Oh. Timmy.
- 1:22:20I, I have to get ready for my food order tomorrow and my day
- 1:22:23of work at the day of work at the track.
- 1:22:25But yeah, we're we're on our summer.
- 1:22:27Vacation. Oh, that's right.
- 1:22:28He just had his graduation last week, so yeah, so last Wednesday
- 1:22:33had his graduation, so yeah, there you go.
- 1:22:35So again. Oh, nice.
- 1:22:37Congratulations, Timmy. What did you say?
- 1:22:40Thank you. So you're very welcome.
- 1:22:43So so again, I will let you guys enjoy the rest of your night.
- 1:22:46Thank you so much. Thank you.
- 1:22:48And Drew gets to talk a little bit now about his national
- 1:22:50compact show at Corrigan Oil. So that's where, again, Leah,
- 1:22:53thank you, thank you, thank you so much.
- 1:22:55Say bye. Bye, I got a crush on her.
- 1:23:00Oh yeah. OK, he has a crush on somebody.
- 1:23:05He's telling you. That must be Holly.
- 1:23:12All right. Thank you guys.
- 1:23:14Well, and everyone's enjoyed Timmy being a part of the show.
- 1:23:17Thank. You I really, I really, really
- 1:23:18appreciate that. Thank you for.
- 1:23:20Commenting so even JD loving the loving the background.
- 1:23:25He is the show for sure. So and thank you so much Timmy
- 1:23:29for joining and anytime Timmy. Thank you.
- 1:23:33Goodnight. Yeah.
- 1:23:34We'll see you all later. Thank you.
- 1:23:36All right, so really quick since we're past the top of the hour,
- 1:23:39I want to do one more reminder that we are not hosting the
- 1:23:44Thursday night throttle this Thursday.
- 1:23:46I I know we've been every week Buju is 1 to experiment with
- 1:23:50something and and I'm taking a personal Thursday away to go do
- 1:23:54an event that only works for me on a Thursday.
- 1:23:57So I asked Buju permission and so I said this is a good chance
- 1:24:03to he made. Your permission Buju.
- 1:24:06Yeah, well, I mean, I was going to go anyways, but you know, but
- 1:24:10it, you know, I'm not going to be at the I'm not going to be at
- 1:24:12the event running the show. So.
- 1:24:15So this is a good chance for Buju to try something.
- 1:24:17So again, this Thursday we are not on for the Thursday night at
- 1:24:19throttle. We're going to take a week off,
- 1:24:22but I will be posting graphics that you would normally see on
- 1:24:25the Thursday night throttle. I will be posting those so you
- 1:24:27can still come to top row on Thursday around 7:00.
- 1:24:32And I will have all the graphics posted for the events that are
- 1:24:34coming up this weekend on Friday, Saturday.
- 1:24:37And I don't think we have any Sunday events this week, you
- 1:24:40know, so still come to the page. There just won't be a live show,
- 1:24:43but there will definitely be graphics so you can see what's
- 1:24:46coming up. So I just want to do that
- 1:24:47reminder that there will be no throttling up, at least show
- 1:24:51wise. But for Buju, he'll have
- 1:24:54something maybe on his page on Thursday around the same time.
- 1:24:56You can check him out and see what that's all about.
- 1:24:59And I do want to do one more reminder too.
- 1:25:00If you're looking to have your car detailed and get it show
- 1:25:03shine ready for summer, especially now that it's finally
- 1:25:07warming up and staying consistently warm.
- 1:25:09Elh Detailing, a partner of Topper Racing Media.
- 1:25:13They have a buy one full detail using the code top row.
- 1:25:17They'll automatically put you in an entry where you could
- 1:25:20potentially win. Oh, I shouldn't say win.
- 1:25:22Facebook might block that. You could potentially earn the
- 1:25:25opportunity for detail on the House from eh detailing.
- 1:25:30The first one we're going to give away is right here on the
- 1:25:31Monday Night rewind on July 13th and then the second one will be
- 1:25:35on October 12th just before fall.
- 1:25:37And I do also want to do a reminder and I need to post the
- 1:25:39graphic for it. They have a car show coming up
- 1:25:43next. I want to say it's next Saturday
- 1:25:44the 13th right at ELH Detailing. Head over to their Facebook page
- 1:25:49at ELH Detailing to check out because I do think registration
- 1:25:53is still open. So if you have a car that you
- 1:25:55like to put in the show, Matt Kemp I think is going to be
- 1:25:57there for a little bit also because I saw him at Laying
- 1:26:01Automotive on Saturday or on Friday on my way to Kalamazoo.
- 1:26:05So I know he's going to do a stop in.
- 1:26:07So definitely check out ELH Detailing.
- 1:26:10But other than that, Drew, if you want to talk a little bit
- 1:26:13about what's coming up this Friday, obviously this we've
- 1:26:16spent a lot of time on the World of Outlaws, but you do have a
- 1:26:19show too at Corgan Oil Speedway with MTR dwarf cars who always
- 1:26:23put on a spectacular show. And I know the entry list you
- 1:26:25said is already looking poppin and and then obviously Will
- 1:26:29Wiggins and crew with the Ohio William and Super Stock series
- 1:26:33and his juice boxes will be on the property.
- 1:26:35And then of course, the show that you're helping to bring in
- 1:26:39with your national compact touring series and those drivers
- 1:26:42who are the world's fastest compacts on asphalt.
- 1:26:45So if you want to talk a little bit about your show and what
- 1:26:48will be going on. Well, Louis, I greatly
- 1:26:51appreciate it, but because we're streaming on the Hartford
- 1:26:54Speedway page, I want to be respectful and I will just say
- 1:26:58this. Pick a race track, support it,
- 1:27:00have fun, enjoy the night, and just be kind on social media.
- 1:27:06It just the crap I've seen on all sorts of social media
- 1:27:10channels this week, even advertising things for trying to
- 1:27:15get people in the stands. People are just being negative.
- 1:27:18I've seen something happen at another track at Southwest
- 1:27:21Michigan I wasn't even aware of and I've just seen posts.
- 1:27:24I'm going to be frank, just shut the hell up and enjoy racing or
- 1:27:29go find a new hobby. I mean, people like Leah,
- 1:27:33myself, Tim, yourself, Buju, Donnie, Jeff Striegel, Jim at
- 1:27:40Corrigan Oil, they all work hard and they're not making a lot of
- 1:27:45money in what they're doing. They're doing it to keep the
- 1:27:48love of the sport. It's a business.
- 1:27:49We want to make money, but I've never worked so hard in my life
- 1:27:53to break even, never worked so hard in my life to try to
- 1:27:55minimize, minimize my losses to hopefully nothing this weekend.
- 1:28:00But at the end of the day, please just take the time, be
- 1:28:03respectful. If you have nothing good to say,
- 1:28:06go go find the Kalamazoo Winks Facebook page and and tell them
- 1:28:09how you really feel about their coach.
- 1:28:11So we'll leave short track racing alone, but at the end of
- 1:28:15the day, support racing, doesn't matter what track, if it's in
- 1:28:19Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, just do it.
- 1:28:22And if you have nothing nice to say, go to the beach.
- 1:28:25Go have a drink, high drink to keep you away from the
- 1:28:28racetrack. So again, there's just a lot to
- 1:28:32do. You know, obviously this weekend
- 1:28:33the weather's finally beautiful. So it's time to take advantage
- 1:28:36of it, right, And just enjoy it. And sometimes Kevin England had
- 1:28:40a nice post or comment. It was one of those that he, he
- 1:28:44said, you know, sometimes just wait till Monday, you know, take
- 1:28:47whatever you're feeling and give it a few days before you feel
- 1:28:50it. You know, we've talked before.
- 1:28:54You know, it's OK to be mad and it's OK to be angry.
- 1:28:57It's OK to be frustrated. It's just how you handle it.
- 1:28:59But one thing I was thinking through, if you wanted, if you
- 1:29:01wanted to pop off really quick just so that you could, I think
- 1:29:05when you log off we're. I I greatly appreciate it.
- 1:29:11I know we got a lot. Buju's not feeling well today.
- 1:29:14You got a lot going on and I got some mails to get to.
- 1:29:18The one thing I will comment, 'cause it doesn't compete with
- 1:29:20Hartford TNT, Kalamazoo Speedway, demolition Derby
- 1:29:24support that Russell's M40 Speedway.
- 1:29:27We're doing something different. When Donnie and I sat down and
- 1:29:30put the schedule together at Kalamazoo, I suggested to him
- 1:29:32and Randy that we do something different with it being MIS
- 1:29:35weekend usually being a little bit lower with World Outlaws, it
- 1:29:39was going to be a no win on Friday at Kalamazoo.
- 1:29:41So anyway, yeah, I did nothing. But anyway, just support a
- 1:29:47racetrack and thank you to those guys.
- 1:29:51Go to M40, go to Kalamazoo, go to New Paris, go to Hartford, go
- 1:29:55to Springport or not Springport, Corgan Oil, Owasso, Berlin, Ken
- 1:30:00Ross if you want to go up north. I don't know if they're racing
- 1:30:03no go check their schedule first things or every other week, but
- 1:30:06bujo anything in closing. No, I want to give a shout out
- 1:30:10to my buddies, the Melbourne Racing Group.
- 1:30:12They had a good weekend in the up at M40 and then Down This
- 1:30:15Way. Dakota won his Hornet feature on
- 1:30:17Friday and then Ronnie and Cheyenne are engaged and won the
- 1:30:20fast seat and feature at M40 on Saturday.
- 1:30:23So I'm part of their team up there and I've been good friends
- 1:30:26with Ronnie for a long time so I just want to give them a shout
- 1:30:28out on my little weekend. Shout outs here at the end.
- 1:30:31Oh yeah, that's right. We've got the weekend shout
- 1:30:33outs, but it's all good. Yeah, but again, I know I was
- 1:30:38going to say, obviously, again, everyone's had this this Friday
- 1:30:42circled for a really long time. So wherever that may be, but
- 1:30:46definitely with World of Outlaws, you know, take it in,
- 1:30:48take in the show. Because again, this has been
- 1:30:51seven years and, and so I'm really excited for Tim and Leah
- 1:30:55and I know they're going to be putting in hours and hours and
- 1:30:57hours and hours. Willis, Tina.
- 1:31:00Before I forget, Tina brought up a good thing.
- 1:31:02So Brayden Loop and brother, what's his brother name?
- 1:31:08I'm sorry, Jayden. Jayden, they had a house fire on
- 1:31:12Friday. This message Sheena right there.
- 1:31:15She can tell you how you can help.
- 1:31:18We are. I know the mini wedge program.
- 1:31:20I don't know exactly what they did, but I heard a lot of
- 1:31:22praises. So thank you for them for
- 1:31:25stepping up. I am going to do something at
- 1:31:27Corrigan Oil for them this weekend.
- 1:31:30I'm gonna work with Tina on that.
- 1:31:32We're gonna see what they need. Raise some funds or ask people
- 1:31:34to bring some stuff. But I wanted to bring that.
- 1:31:37I'm sorry. I totally forgot about that.
- 1:31:38We probably should have talked about that at the top of the
- 1:31:40hour. But they were at the race track.
- 1:31:43They had a devastating fire. They lost everything.
- 1:31:48Denton. I'm sorry, I don't remember his
- 1:31:50first name. Bill Denton.
- 1:31:52Is it the dad or stepdad? And then Christina, the Christie
- 1:31:58is the mother, so you can reach out to them as well too, or
- 1:32:03Tina, that's family to her. They will they will certainly be
- 1:32:08happy to direct you on how you can help.
- 1:32:12Brett. Sorry, I I'm very sorry about
- 1:32:14that. Tina.
- 1:32:14I just. And Tina, for those watching,
- 1:32:17Tina's probably probably commenting on the top row page
- 1:32:20because she doesn't have a link next to her.
- 1:32:22So I know it's not on the Hartford page and it doesn't
- 1:32:25look like it's national compact. So definitely find her on the
- 1:32:27top row page and you can message them.
- 1:32:29I know Sabrina Bibi had something on her photography
- 1:32:32page where they were looking for things.
- 1:32:34I know it's on the Kalamazoo page.
- 1:32:35So, so definitely, yeah, 'cause I know that happened on Saturday
- 1:32:39while they were at Never, Never fun when those kind of things
- 1:32:44happen because it just, it changes life really quickly.
- 1:32:47So again, that's one thing to remember is people get mad and
- 1:32:49angry at different things that are like first world problems.
- 1:32:52It's like, you know, there are real problems, you know, to be
- 1:32:56mad and angry about South and handle and have to go through.
- 1:33:00So it's like, you know, enjoy your time at the track.
- 1:33:03You're not always going to leave happy, but just remember there's
- 1:33:06worse things to happen than, you know, a flat tire or a blown
- 1:33:11engine. I mean, I know those are
- 1:33:12expensive, but you know, they're, they're bigger things
- 1:33:17to worry about. But anyways, I know it's almost
- 1:33:19it's just past 8:30. So I know Boozie, your voice
- 1:33:23held on just long enough and everything.
- 1:33:24So you'll get a couple days before you try your thing again.
- 1:33:27No Thursday night throttle Drew, I know you got a lot of work
- 1:33:30ahead of you. And I'm going to be editing two
- 1:33:32programs because I'm not going to bed tonight until they're
- 1:33:35done. So because I don't have time for
- 1:33:38it to drag on this week. So so again, other than that,
- 1:33:43find somewhere to go. Weather is looking nice so it's
- 1:33:46almost time to turn left and go fast because Buju.
- 1:33:49We'll see you at the races. We'll see everyone at the races.
